- 0:08Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Bucco
- 0:12Speaker 1: Territory presented by the Foul Territory Network. I'm Noah Hyles.
- 0:15Speaker 1: He is Platinum Key aka Mark and Mark the hit
- 0:19Speaker 1: the Sirens. Let's go breaking news trade alert. The Pirates
- 0:23Speaker 1: make another big move here in December. They acquire Brandon Lee,
- 0:30Speaker 1: Jake Mangum, and Mason Montgomery in a three team trade,
- 0:34Speaker 1: and all they gave up Mark is Mike Burrows. I
- 0:38Speaker 1: have a lot of analysis on this deal, but I
- 0:42Speaker 1: know the fan and you has to be going absolutely
- 0:45Speaker 1: nuts right now because it seems like they got a
- 0:48Speaker 1: lot for only giving up one.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I like a huge like whoo. As soon as I
- 0:55Speaker 2: saw that Ken rosensaw like the Pirates are getting closed,
- 0:57Speaker 2: like rubbing my hands together, like come on, come on,
- 1:00Speaker 2: make this happen. And once we saw that it's been
- 1:02Speaker 2: confirmed pending medicals, Yeah, I mean this is so exciting.
- 1:07Speaker 2: This is exactly what we've been begging the Pirates to do.
- 1:10Speaker 2: We've been saying, hey, Brandon Lowes right there, go get
- 1:12Speaker 2: him and look at that they date. So yeah, I'm ecstatic.
- 1:17Speaker 2: The excitement levels palpable, and it feels like this seems
- 1:20Speaker 2: a lot closer than they were just a few hours.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Ago, right And I want to start by saying this,
- 1:27Speaker 1: this is by no means a winning ball club right now,
- 1:31Speaker 1: as currently assembled. You look at their lineup, I mean,
- 1:34Speaker 1: you could still argue they have a pretty big hole
- 1:36Speaker 1: at catcher, at least offensively. I mean, first base looks
- 1:40Speaker 1: pretty good, second base looks pretty good. Shortstop will look
- 1:44Speaker 1: pretty good come like May. But third base was a
- 1:47Speaker 1: question heading into the offseason. It's still a question. And
- 1:51Speaker 1: then I think you can maybe add either a corner
- 1:55Speaker 1: outfield spot or the designated hitter spot as another question.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I think if you address those two spots third base
- 2:02Speaker 1: and either primary DH or another outfielder, and made Reynolds
- 2:07Speaker 1: the primary DH, now you're really cooking with someone or something.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But this is a big first step or a big
- 2:13Speaker 1: second step, I should say. The first step is getting
- 2:15Speaker 1: was getting Garcia from the Red Sox, and we're gonna
- 2:18Speaker 1: talk about how he kind of fits into all of this.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But Mark, obviously the headliner of this deal is Brandon Lau,
- 2:23Speaker 1: a guy the Pirates have been reportedly interested in for
- 2:26Speaker 1: quite some time now, someone who they've been rumored to
- 2:30Speaker 1: be honing in on since you know, the start of
- 2:33Speaker 1: this offseason, and they get a guy that profiles to
- 2:37Speaker 1: be exactly what they were looking to bring in this offseason.
- 2:40Speaker 1: He doesn't have a ton of club control, but this
- 2:43Speaker 1: is a guy who hit thirty home runs last year.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I will say, I think he played in a pretty
- 2:48Speaker 1: hitter friendly park, so maybe the number won't be as
- 2:51Speaker 1: high this next year. But even if it's twenty five,
- 2:54Speaker 1: even if it's twenty, I mean, he's a professional at bat.
- 2:58Speaker 1: He's someone who provides consistent of above average power from
- 3:02Speaker 1: the left side of the plate. That's what they needed,
- 3:05Speaker 1: that's what they needed, and I think he's someone that
- 3:07Speaker 1: lengthens that lineup, someone that maybe gives a little bit
- 3:10Speaker 1: more protection to Reynolds and Cruz. Maybe you pack between
- 3:15Speaker 1: those two guys, maybe you bat him in front in
- 3:18Speaker 1: front of one of them, and then find another guy
- 3:20Speaker 1: and maybe your right handed bat to put in front
- 3:23Speaker 1: of the other. But overall he's the headliner. Brandon Low's
- 3:28Speaker 1: a pirate. Look at your smile, Mark, give me y.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I've been smiling just literally since this happened. Finally we
- 3:36Speaker 2: have some extra power. We have another left handed bat.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Everything that we've been asking for all offseason, and I
- 3:44Speaker 2: mean there's not necessarily a lot to break down just
- 3:46Speaker 2: because it's like, yeah, this is an awesome move at
- 3:49Speaker 2: a price that is very palatable. I mean, to only
- 3:53Speaker 2: give up Mike Burrows and we'll get into the other
- 3:56Speaker 2: pieces here, but just Burrows for Law, I think there's
- 3:59Speaker 2: questions if that been enough. Yeah, Loo only has one
- 4:02Speaker 2: year left on his contract, but you don't get too
- 4:05Speaker 2: many second basemen that are going to hit thirty home runs, right, Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 2: So I mean you got to pay to get players
- 4:12Speaker 2: of Loo's quality, and I feel like Burrows is a
- 4:15Speaker 2: very fair asking price.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know, it's not like they just gave
- 4:21Speaker 1: up Burrows for Loo. I think it's important to highlight
- 4:25Speaker 1: the other two guys in this return because they are
- 4:28Speaker 1: more long term assets. I mean, Mangum last year played
- 4:31Speaker 1: one hundred and eighteen games as a twenty eight year
- 4:33Speaker 1: old rookie, where he hit two ninety six was worse,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I believe one point six v. War. He's a switch hitter,
- 4:38Speaker 1: a guy who's above average defender, who runs the bases
- 4:41Speaker 1: really well. Not a ton of pop. But mark, to
- 4:44Speaker 1: circle back to the first deal they made this offseason
- 4:46Speaker 1: getting Garcia from the Red Sox. This is a perfect
- 4:49Speaker 1: platoon exactly in my opinion. You have a guy who's
- 4:53Speaker 1: kind of boom or bust, who hits from the right
- 4:55Speaker 1: side with a ton of power, who's super young in Garcia,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and you pair him with an older guy, someone who
- 5:00Speaker 1: played a ton of college baseball. He's the SEC's all
- 5:03Speaker 1: time hits leader, he hits from both sides of the play,
- 5:06Speaker 1: who's probably the better defender of the two, who can
- 5:09Speaker 1: steal a lot of bases, he can be a late
- 5:11Speaker 1: game sub at all three outfield positions. Essentially, he's the
- 5:16Speaker 1: guy that they wanted g one base at the major
- 5:19Speaker 1: league level. And so I love the way this platoon
- 5:23Speaker 1: unfolds because you have a little bit of everything. You
- 5:25Speaker 1: have some speed, you have some power, you have some
- 5:28Speaker 1: bat to ball skills, you have a little bit of
- 5:31Speaker 1: age versus a little bit of youth. Both of these
- 5:34Speaker 1: guys have minor league options. I think Mangum still has
- 5:36Speaker 1: three minor league option years, and Garcia should have all
- 5:40Speaker 1: of his minor league options because he only played five
- 5:42Speaker 1: major league games last year. So theoretically, I think that's
- 5:46Speaker 1: probably going to be one of your corner outfield spots
- 5:49Speaker 1: with Reynolds occupying right field. I see those two probably
- 5:53Speaker 1: competing to be everyday guys and left I think Mangum
- 5:56Speaker 1: probably gets that spot to start just because he was
- 5:59Speaker 1: in every player last year. He probably wouldn't have been
- 6:02Speaker 1: an everyday player for the Rays, but I think he
- 6:04Speaker 1: profiles well. He's not a game changer, but he is.
- 6:07Speaker 1: He's a solid platoon guy that you can have on
- 6:09Speaker 1: your roster for the foreseeable future.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I love him the other bench that's that's speed defense,
- 6:14Speaker 2: like late in the game. You know, if you're in
- 6:17Speaker 2: the playoffs, he's a great guy to have on your
- 6:20Speaker 2: playoff roster.
- 6:21Speaker 1: He is, and there's gonna be stretches throughout the season
- 6:23Speaker 1: where you know, ONEO Cruz might go down for ten days,
- 6:28Speaker 1: or Reynolds or heck, someone else. And this is a
- 6:31Speaker 1: guy that you know, if you're studying one hundred and
- 6:33Speaker 1: sixty two games, that's probably not the best. But if
- 6:36Speaker 1: he has to be your leadoff hitter, if he has
- 6:38Speaker 1: to be, you know, a primary starter for a month
- 6:41Speaker 1: or two, I don't think it's the end of the world.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Because he did it for the Tampa Bay Rays, who
- 6:45Speaker 1: were semi competitive last year, despite you know, some pretty
- 6:48Speaker 1: tough accommodations they had to play through. The other part
- 6:52Speaker 1: of this return is also intriguing Montgomery. He seems to
- 6:55Speaker 1: be the bigger throw in of the three, I would say,
- 7:00Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, Mark, I mean,
- 7:01Speaker 1: this is a guy. He's a left hander who's fastball
- 7:04Speaker 1: sits one hundred. The Pirates something to work. Yeah, and
- 7:08Speaker 1: the Pirates do well with these types of guys. They
- 7:11Speaker 1: they have a really good, you know, pitching group who
- 7:14Speaker 1: will now look to maximize this guy. I mean, yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: the fastball, the fastball v low per Baseball savant is
- 7:21Speaker 1: in the ninety seventh percentile, as is the whift rate.
- 7:24Speaker 1: The k rate is at the ninetieth percentile, chase rate
- 7:28Speaker 1: at eighty third percentile, So the stuff is clearly nasty.
- 7:33Speaker 2: But I think his fastball has like a lot of
- 7:37Speaker 2: induced vertical break as well to twenty some IVB.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So yeah, and he's a he's a he's a simple
- 7:43Speaker 1: two pitch guys, fastball slider. The Pirates teach these guys well,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I mean some names come to mind, like Jared Jones.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Obviously he's throwing from the left side, but yeah, he's wild.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I mean, the twelve point nine percent walk rate isn't great.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I mean the barrel raid is still not ideal at
- 8:03Speaker 1: a thirty second percent tile nine point three percent. Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 1: in the in the standard baseball card numbers aren't pretty.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I mean, he had a five point sixty seven earned
- 8:12Speaker 1: run average last year. But again, this is a guy
- 8:15Speaker 1: who was a sixth round pick. He's twenty five years old,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and he's a lefty who's going to pitch out of
- 8:19Speaker 1: your bullpen, and his top pitch is a one hundred
- 8:21Speaker 1: miles poor fastball. And if he's your throw in in
- 8:24Speaker 1: addition to a platoon guy who has tons of control
- 8:29Speaker 1: and Brandon Lowe who hit thirty home runs last year
- 8:32Speaker 1: at second base, and you're giving up. And that's where
- 8:34Speaker 1: we can pivot this conversation Mike Burrows. Who let's take
- 8:38Speaker 1: a look at Burrows. He was an impressive rookie last year,
- 8:41Speaker 1: no doubt. But there's a chance this guy didn't He
- 8:44Speaker 1: wasn't even going to make the opening day rotation as
- 8:46Speaker 1: is it currently assembled. Now, there's a chance that he
- 8:51Speaker 1: could keep the ball rolling and do really well in Houston.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I wouldn't be shocked by that. At all. But if
- 8:56Speaker 1: I had to choose between keeping him or braxtonn Ash,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I would keep Ashcraft. If I had to choose between
- 9:03Speaker 1: keeping him or Hunter Barco, I would keep Barco. I mean,
- 9:07Speaker 1: I think I would trade Harrington ahead of Burrows, but
- 9:10Speaker 1: I don't think you get this return for Harrington. And
- 9:13Speaker 1: I'm certainly not moving Bubba Chandler for something like this.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So this tells me that a Mitch Keller is probably
- 9:19Speaker 1: sticking around now, which is something I did not expect
- 9:22Speaker 1: to say this winter. And b I mean, Burrows is
- 9:26Speaker 1: just a guy again, not a guarantee to make this
- 9:29Speaker 1: starting rotation, and his health isn't a guarantee. He's only
- 9:32Speaker 1: a few years removed from Tommy John surgery, certainly showed
- 9:36Speaker 1: a lot of promises, change ups, a nasty pitch. I
- 9:39Speaker 1: wish him all the best in Houston. I had some
- 9:41Speaker 1: good conversations with him during his rookie season last year.
- 9:45Speaker 1: But if you would have told me that you could
- 9:47Speaker 1: just get Mangam and Montgomery for Burrows, I would strongly
- 9:50Speaker 1: consider making that deal. The fact that you're getting low
- 9:53Speaker 1: in addition is remarkable. I think this is one of
- 9:56Speaker 1: Chrrington's best trades.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I was just about to say, this feels like out
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'm trying to think what would be a better Charrington
- 10:03Speaker 2: trade than this. I love it, so, I mean it's
- 10:08Speaker 2: extremely fairly priced and it sets up free agency now too.
- 10:12Speaker 2: You're just talking last or a couple of days ago
- 10:15Speaker 2: about how you know, if the Pirates were to make
- 10:18Speaker 2: a trade before they go after some of these free agents,
- 10:20Speaker 2: that might push people a little bit more to sign
- 10:23Speaker 2: with the Pirates, seeing, oh, now I have allow in
- 10:25Speaker 2: the lineup behind me or in front of me, I
- 10:27Speaker 2: have a little bit of extra protection. This team actually
- 10:29Speaker 2: seems like they're committed to winning, to competing. Yeah, it's
- 10:34Speaker 2: a really encouraging move.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so now let's let's talk about what's next here.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Like we said, I mean, it's harder to see Keller
- 10:42Speaker 1: go now, right, And honestly, you feel pretty good about that.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I'm smiling to you for that.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you're looking at what this rotation can be. If
- 10:51Speaker 1: you were to go into next year with Brandon Law
- 10:54Speaker 1: in your lineup, with potentially other additions and some young,
- 10:58Speaker 1: controllable outfielders, you can plan platoon and your top three
- 11:02Speaker 1: is Skeins, Keller, Chandler. Yeah, with Ashcraft at the four,
- 11:06Speaker 1: and then we can talk about what else could be
- 11:09Speaker 1: at the five. Be it Hunter Barco, be it you know,
- 11:12Speaker 1: a Thomas Harrington, maybe somebody else. So let's talk about
- 11:15Speaker 1: how they fail out the rest of this team. I'll
- 11:17Speaker 1: give my thoughts real quick. I think there's still two
- 11:19Speaker 1: bats away Connor Griffin Aside. You look at third base
- 11:23Speaker 1: and you look at either designated hitter or another outfield spot. However,
- 11:27Speaker 1: you want to play Reynolds next year, if you want
- 11:29Speaker 1: to make him your primary DH and go acquire another outfielder,
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think you can do that. If you can go
- 11:36Speaker 1: get a primary DH, maybe a Marzello Zuna, and you
- 11:40Speaker 1: and you're comfortable having Reynolds be her everyday right fielder. Again,
- 11:43Speaker 1: I think that's fine too. Obviously you're probably sacrificing some
- 11:46Speaker 1: defense for offense there, but I don't I don't have
- 11:49Speaker 1: a huge issue with that. Third base is clearly the
- 11:52Speaker 1: only place in the infield that really is an area
- 11:55Speaker 1: of need. Now, Mark, I mean, what's your shopping list
- 11:59Speaker 1: look like?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think third base is where I would start.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Murkami's got just three days left before he signs somewhere
- 12:08Speaker 2: on Monday and then you have Okamota January fourth. So
- 12:12Speaker 2: I'd look at one of those two guys. I know
- 12:14Speaker 2: Murkami's got a lot of concerns, but at the same time,
- 12:19Speaker 2: you know, you gotta take a risk and gotta find
- 12:22Speaker 2: power somewhere add to this lineup. So third base is
- 12:26Speaker 2: where I would start. I would also consider, I mean
- 12:28Speaker 2: possibly adding a lefty starting pitcher. Again, we talked about that,
- 12:33Speaker 2: maybe like a hose A King Tana or someone just
- 12:35Speaker 2: to add in and then start filling out that outfield
- 12:39Speaker 2: or dh. I I like the Osuna idea. I think
- 12:44Speaker 2: O'Hearn would be awesome.
- 12:47Speaker 1: It would probably be more desirable, right yeah, A long terms.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, I mean any of those, like two
- 12:54Speaker 2: of those guys just take this team to another level yet.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And so yeah, it's it's right on the press a piss.
- 13:01Speaker 2: It feels like you can see the path forward.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna throw out some names that I like.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I still think they need to do their veteran left
- 13:09Speaker 1: handed handed signing like we talked about on our last show,
- 13:13Speaker 1: And I think like a Nestor Cortes even makes more sense.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Now you sign him with the understanding that look like
- 13:20Speaker 1: you're gonna have a spot in the rotation until Hunter
- 13:22Speaker 1: bart goes ready. And if you're performing well, then we'll
- 13:25Speaker 1: move Braxton Ashcraft to the bullpen and we'll have two
- 13:27Speaker 1: lefties in the rotation. If you're not performing well, you
- 13:30Speaker 1: get moved to the bullpen, or we send you your
- 13:32Speaker 1: walking papers, either way. I also look at the potential moves,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and I know everyone's thinking free agency, right, Everyone's thinking
- 13:40Speaker 1: Okamoda or Mari Kami or you know, banging the table
- 13:43Speaker 1: for Gino Suarez. I think they still have a lot
- 13:47Speaker 1: of trade capital to work with as well as far
- 13:49Speaker 1: as prospects are concerned, because they haven't traded really any
- 13:52Speaker 1: of them. Mark you look. I mean I went into
- 13:55Speaker 1: this offseason having conversations with people. I expected to Tamar
- 14:00Speaker 1: Johnson to be on the trade block. I expect Thomas
- 14:03Speaker 1: Harrington to be on the trade block. I'm not sure
- 14:05Speaker 1: about Harrington as much anymore, just because they traded to young,
- 14:08Speaker 1: controllable pitchers. But if Tamar Johnson's still available to be moved,
- 14:13Speaker 1: what can you get for him? Maybe Nick Gonzalez is
- 14:15Speaker 1: available for business as well, that they just got a
- 14:18Speaker 1: second basement, or maybe not, Maybe you just have Nick
- 14:21Speaker 1: play as a backup for a year or low could
- 14:24Speaker 1: sometimes and it could be it could be a platoon situation.
- 14:29Speaker 1: But yeah, you have Tamar Johnson, who I think could
- 14:31Speaker 1: be a movable prospect. Potentially some other young pitchers as well,
- 14:35Speaker 1: And if you want to maybe drop a deal for
- 14:37Speaker 1: like Alec Baum at third base, who has multiple years
- 14:41Speaker 1: of control, who is a guy that I would see
- 14:44Speaker 1: Philly being willing to move from, who's been reportedly in
- 14:47Speaker 1: trade discussions. He's a guy I look at. And then
- 14:50Speaker 1: that DH spot slash outfield, I mean, you can fill
- 14:53Speaker 1: that in a multitude of ways. You could go shopping
- 14:57Speaker 1: for another corner outfield, or you could get someone a
- 14:59Speaker 1: little bit more affordable. You could. Yeah, there's a lot
- 15:02Speaker 1: of possibilities. It is interesting to see that.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Just because his defense is.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Right, I mean you could you could hypothetically, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 1: play Lao in second base against righty's and then it lefties.
- 15:17Speaker 1: You start nickings all us at second and you d
- 15:19Speaker 1: h Lao, which I again, you're you're using that DH
- 15:22Speaker 1: spot to go left you on lefty there. But I
- 15:24Speaker 1: would take Loo over just about every other option they
- 15:28Speaker 1: have right now, unless you have better alternatives. You know,
- 15:31Speaker 1: if you have Marcello Zuna there, if you have Ryan
- 15:34Speaker 1: O'Hearn or whoever else, then yes, you have a different conversation.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But yeah, I still think they have room to make
- 15:43Speaker 1: another decent trade here. Maybe, uh, because like I said,
- 15:48Speaker 1: I still think there are some some prospects that are
- 15:51Speaker 1: worth moving, worth considering moving at the very least, and
- 15:55Speaker 1: they should even if Keller is around now, I still
- 15:59Speaker 1: think they have room to add a little bit more payroll.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I wouldn't expect multiple significant free agent signings. Heck, I
- 16:07Speaker 1: wouldn't even expect one big free agent signing, but I
- 16:12Speaker 1: think you're capable of signing a guy on a one year,
- 16:16Speaker 1: ten to twelve million dollar deal, someone like Again, Marcelo
- 16:21Speaker 1: Zuna is a name I keep mentioning just because I
- 16:23Speaker 1: feel like he's well in their price range, and he's
- 16:25Speaker 1: an upgrade at DH and he is another twenty to
- 16:29Speaker 1: thirty home run back. And you look at this potential
- 16:32Speaker 1: lineup now, Mark, You're you're looking at Connor Griffin potentially
- 16:36Speaker 1: being your leadoff hitter. You're looking at Lao being a
- 16:40Speaker 1: top three guy in the lineup, and if you add
- 16:42Speaker 1: Ozuna or a Suarez or someone like that, plus the
- 16:46Speaker 1: platoon out in left field. That's half of your opening
- 16:49Speaker 1: day lineup looking brand new and all of them being
- 16:53Speaker 1: pretty good odds to be an upgrade over what you
- 16:56Speaker 1: had there the year prior.
- 16:57Speaker 2: So you have the majority of the rotation from last
- 16:59Speaker 2: year too, Yes, Yeah, which was like seventh in the RAA.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And they're all young and improving, and so we're gonna
- 17:05Speaker 2: see more Bubba Chandler, and I think the rotation could
- 17:08Speaker 2: still be better than it was last year, even with
- 17:11Speaker 2: the loss of Oviedo and Burrows. So it's exciting times.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'll make one final note before we wrap
- 17:19Speaker 1: up here. Having covered the Pirates, obviously, I've analyzed a
- 17:23Speaker 1: lot of trades and it always seems like their focus
- 17:27Speaker 1: is long term. Long term, They're always trading for controllable assets,
- 17:31Speaker 1: and I think that's plagued them a bit. Their their
- 17:33Speaker 1: hesitancy to try to go and win now per se.
- 17:38Speaker 1: This is a win now move. I mean the headliner. Obviously, Again,
- 17:42Speaker 1: like we said in the show, I would have considered
- 17:44Speaker 1: giving Burrows up for you in Montgomery.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I don't have something we suggested them in Montgomery, but just.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Just controllable for controllable. I don't know if that would
- 17:55Speaker 1: have been enough for me to pull the trigger there,
- 17:56Speaker 1: but it definitely would have been something I considered. The
- 18:02Speaker 1: fact that you add Lao again. He's on the final
- 18:05Speaker 1: year of his deal, and the Pirates obviously have an
- 18:08Speaker 1: opportunity to extend this guy and do something more long
- 18:12Speaker 1: term if that's the case, but they're trying to win now.
- 18:17Speaker 1: That's what this move shows. I mean, they traded a
- 18:20Speaker 1: guy who, if his career plays out well, could have
- 18:23Speaker 1: been in their starting rotation after Paul Skeven's window closes.
- 18:27Speaker 1: But they moved him, and they got a guy who
- 18:30Speaker 1: will definitely be in the top four or five spots
- 18:34Speaker 1: in their batting order on opening day if he's healthy
- 18:38Speaker 1: next year. So I like the move. They've made two
- 18:41Speaker 1: significant trades this year. And if I told you that
- 18:45Speaker 1: by moving Joannoviedo and Michael Burrows that they would be
- 18:50Speaker 1: able to bring in Brandon Lao, a young, controllable left
- 18:54Speaker 1: field platoon and a left handed bullpen arm who throws
- 18:57Speaker 1: a hundred. He's a little wild, but you know they've
- 19:00Speaker 1: made success out of that before. I think every Pirates
- 19:03Speaker 1: fan listening would have signed up for that from the Villa. Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I mean, it's hard to look at like Twitter and
- 19:08Speaker 2: see unanimously positive reactions to Pirates news. I've not seen
- 19:14Speaker 2: anyone criticizing this move yet. I mean, I'm sure there
- 19:17Speaker 2: is someone out there, but it seems pretty universal that
- 19:21Speaker 2: everyone's excited and happy about this move. So hey, good
- 19:25Speaker 2: job Pirates.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Absolutely he's more KKA platinum key. I am Noah Hayles.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Thanks for tuning into another episode of Bucco Territory presented
- 19:36Speaker 1: by the Foul Territory Network. We will see you again soon.
- 19:39Speaker 1: We'll see what other Pirates moves we have to talk
- 19:40Speaker 1: about then
