- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Of course I'm your host, Clay and with me like always,
- 0:29Speaker 2: in of course, the same setting as last week. Katie. Katie,
- 0:35Speaker 2: you were not at home because you were having a
- 0:38Speaker 2: chaotic month full of birthdays and all sorts of stuff.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So and I think she just hold on.
- 0:51Speaker 3: We're having technical difficulties, so I'm abe muting as much
- 0:55Speaker 3: as possible because apparently the headphones you don't want to
- 0:58Speaker 3: do anything.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I mean, I was gonna say your quality of sound
- 1:04Speaker 2: is not going to be as good as last week,
- 1:05Speaker 2: but now it actually sounds good, so I think it works.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But the well actually good. I want to test something
- 1:14Speaker 2: real quick and again the magic of podcasting magic. Yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 2: it actually doesn't sound too bad. And I found out
- 1:23Speaker 2: the reason prior to this, because I was hearing an
- 1:25Speaker 2: echo was my own doing. So I fixed that on
- 1:30Speaker 2: my part. There is no echo here unless I just
- 1:34Speaker 2: start listening to this podcast as I'm editing, and it's
- 1:38Speaker 2: just completely chaotic. But I think it sounds good, so
- 1:42Speaker 2: we are good to move forward again. Guys. The next
- 1:47Speaker 2: two weeks, well, actually it'll be this week. Well, yeah,
- 1:51Speaker 2: two weeks, because it's total of twelve, right, there's four weeks, yes,
- 1:56Speaker 2: four weeks. Okay, so this week week plus two more weeks,
- 2:01Speaker 2: it's going to be nothing but and or no small
- 2:04Speaker 2: news bits, no book reviews, which, by the way, we
- 2:10Speaker 2: will have a book review soon. A Valiant vow actually
- 2:16Speaker 2: is releasing this week, I believe.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Yes, Valiant Vowel releases on Tuesday, guys, and the plan
- 2:25Speaker 3: for that is we will not have a review on
- 2:28Speaker 3: the eighth for you guys, but we will have it
- 2:31Speaker 3: the following week, so to be a short little review.
- 2:34Speaker 3: That's all we're going to really be talking about. Obviously,
- 2:37Speaker 3: Way Seeker also comes out on Tuesday, guys, but we
- 2:40Speaker 3: already done a review for that, so you can go
- 2:42Speaker 3: check that out. But yeah, like Valiant vow is the
- 2:47Speaker 3: only thing we're doing. And actually technically we have to
- 2:50Speaker 3: discuss when we're going to have Tales of the Underground.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Yeah, because that is literally tomorrow tomorrow, and the hope
- 2:57Speaker 4: is that that will be the episode that you got
- 3:00Speaker 4: have on Thursday.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Is our Tales of the Underground review. Underworld is Underworld,
- 3:07Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 3:08Speaker 2: This week is Tales of the Underworld. A little bit
- 3:13Speaker 2: of Inside Baseball currently we are recording this. Of course,
- 3:18Speaker 2: if you are live with us on a Saturday night,
- 3:21Speaker 2: this will be dropping on podcast feeds on Sunday. We
- 3:26Speaker 2: can't talk about it on Sunday because one, I will
- 3:29Speaker 2: be watching it on Sunday and also driving about an
- 3:32Speaker 2: hour and a half to two hours away to go
- 3:35Speaker 2: get some supplies for Amberlin's first bed, as well as
- 3:44Speaker 2: watching the show. Like, there's so many things that are
- 3:46Speaker 2: gonna be happening on Sunday, so we won't be able
- 3:49Speaker 2: to record Sunday. But I think we should be able
- 3:53Speaker 2: to plan probably not live a recording sometime between Monday
- 4:03Speaker 2: and Wednesday for you guys to have Tales of the
- 4:06Speaker 2: Underworld to listen to on Thursday.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Yes, busy May, busy May, guys.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It is so episodes.
- 4:20Speaker 3: And yes, and for the record, guys, for the record,
- 4:28Speaker 3: I have a lot going on in my life right now.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I did not get to give these episodes a really
- 4:35Speaker 3: clean watch, Like Matt did not even get to watch
- 4:39Speaker 3: episodes five and six this week. That's how chaotic things were.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Uh So I'm gonna do my best, but I'm gonna
- 4:46Speaker 3: come and play to lead most of the plot just
- 4:49Speaker 3: discussion and I'll be back next week in my.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Okay, So let's go ahead and jumped in to episode four.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Episode four is ever been to Gorman? There was a
- 5:09Speaker 2: lot of speculation on, uh, which episodes were these four
- 5:21Speaker 2: or these three because of the director that returned correct.
- 5:27Speaker 3: And mon Manthma's speech. We know where that takes place
- 5:31Speaker 3: in the timeline that takes place in two By, So
- 5:34Speaker 3: it could have been that the three episodes for two
- 5:38Speaker 3: Bby take place on Gorman with the Gorman massacre and everything,
- 5:43Speaker 3: and then kind of proceed from there. But we also
- 5:45Speaker 3: know five episodes on Gorman, so it kind of makes
- 5:48Speaker 3: sense that it's coming now, and then we get one
- 5:51Speaker 3: more next arc and then Mathma's speech to the Senate
- 5:56Speaker 3: and escape and everything.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so in this episode we learn a lot of
- 6:06Speaker 2: the moving pieces for this arc in general. You know,
- 6:11Speaker 2: last week we talked about the fact that Dedra and
- 6:15Speaker 2: Cyril have somewhat of a actual serious relationship that is
- 6:20Speaker 2: going on. Guys, serious relationships are not without their secrets,
- 6:26Speaker 2: as we see in these three episodes, and that's a
- 6:33Speaker 2: little bit of a doozy and I do there's a
- 6:36Speaker 2: lot of different and I say we're starting with episode four,
- 6:43Speaker 2: but we know that we're talking about character arcs for
- 6:47Speaker 2: majority of these reviews because going episode by episode is
- 6:52Speaker 2: going to be very difficult. It's going to be very
- 6:54Speaker 2: long winded and everything else. But I want to start.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I want to start with Sarah and Dedra the Empire,
- 7:05Speaker 2: if you will, and then I want to go to
- 7:12Speaker 2: casts and Bis because the jaw dropping, fucking moment at
- 7:18Speaker 2: the last episode this week, my brain literally almost spewed
- 7:24Speaker 2: out of my fucking ears with how much it exploded
- 7:29Speaker 2: at the just the slight shift in frame for that
- 7:33Speaker 2: reveal my job. I literally opened my mouth and was like,
- 7:38Speaker 2: oh my god.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Because we had seen the like high five and explosion
- 7:44Speaker 3: for calf inpect and yes, guys, I'm jumping ahead, but
- 7:47Speaker 3: we had seen that in the trailer and so everyone
- 7:49Speaker 3: was like, what is this for? And now we know
- 7:51Speaker 3: what it was for.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And I do want to call myself out for talking
- 7:59Speaker 2: shit to Bix the entire time and then when that happened,
- 8:03Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, So we will talk
- 8:05Speaker 2: about it, but first Cyril. Cyril, of course, has been
- 8:12Speaker 2: a very big player in and Or season one and
- 8:14Speaker 2: even more so in season two. He is the quote
- 8:20Speaker 2: unquote imperial spy uh so says the Gorman uh uh.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And it's so funny. I put it in the front,
- 8:31Speaker 2: the Gorman front. But it's so funny because I've purposely
- 8:34Speaker 2: written I wrote this down in my notes and I said,
- 8:38Speaker 2: this is what they want you to believe. But Cyril
- 8:42Speaker 2: meets with the Gorman extremists, yep, is that's we all know.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That's where it's gonna spit with the with the Empire.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So I was like, you know what, let's write it down.
- 8:54Speaker 3: And I could not believe that Dja Deja put him
- 8:59Speaker 3: into her plot. But also I can't believe it because
- 9:04Speaker 3: that's who she is is She's got to use everyone
- 9:07Speaker 3: to her advantage.
- 9:09Speaker 2: And that was kind of surprising to me. So you
- 9:14Speaker 2: don't know that Cyril doesn't know the true purpose of
- 9:21Speaker 2: this entire thing until episode six. You watch all of four,
- 9:27Speaker 2: all of five, and then finally in episode six, it
- 9:33Speaker 2: is not until admiral. Right, Admiral.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I don't think he's an admirable. I think it's a
- 9:43Speaker 3: colonel patter guys. Okay, okay, because you Lauren is the
- 9:50Speaker 3: head of the ISB and he's only a colonel. So
- 9:52Speaker 3: he might even be like a lieutenant colonel because he
- 9:56Speaker 3: reports to you, Lauren. So patter Gazz is like helping
- 10:03Speaker 3: Dedra run the Gorman operation that critic proposed in the
- 10:13Speaker 3: first arc. So Dedra's kind of running with that and
- 10:18Speaker 3: his basically inserted cereal to where he can connect with
- 10:22Speaker 3: the Gorman Front and manipulate them to get the result
- 10:28Speaker 3: that they're looking for. Remember Dedra setting arc one, Well,
- 10:32Speaker 3: you don't need propaganda, you need an extremist group that's
- 10:36Speaker 3: going to do the wrong thing at the right time.
- 10:39Speaker 3: And that's basically where this is leading to. This is
- 10:42Speaker 3: the Gorman Front, the extremist quote unquote rebel group, and
- 10:50Speaker 3: they're doing the wrong thing at the right time.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Basically. Yeah, I did want to.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Ask your opinion on this because this kind of goes
- 10:58Speaker 3: across all of the What did you think about the
- 11:03Speaker 3: Gorman's basically having like a French accent like the Twilight.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So I was wanting to bring this up also because
- 11:12Speaker 2: I I'm gonna just say it right here, right now,
- 11:17Speaker 2: I am not a very intellectual individual when it comes
- 11:22Speaker 2: to languages. Somebody could speak some other language and I
- 11:30Speaker 2: would very inappropriately and uneducationally probably stereotyped the hell out
- 11:39Speaker 2: of the sound of that language, and Butcher it. I
- 11:44Speaker 2: am not that intelligible when it comes to languages I
- 11:48Speaker 2: need to be. But when they were actually talking, my
- 11:54Speaker 2: brain went is that French? And so I did look
- 11:59Speaker 2: it up. It's not French per se, but it is
- 12:06Speaker 2: based off of like French phonics, So like, yeah, so
- 12:11Speaker 2: it's it's kind of an amalgam of like a made
- 12:13Speaker 2: up language of for us being Gorman and then French.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I think that this is perfectly fine because we are
- 12:24Speaker 2: not dealing with Earth or French individuals, right, But you're.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Also looking at like, Okay, there's technically already a French
- 12:35Speaker 3: accent out there. Hera has represented that with the twilegs,
- 12:41Speaker 3: So is it like, could you not have picked maybe
- 12:44Speaker 3: a different accent to go.
- 12:46Speaker 2: With I okay, So I get what you're saying. I
- 12:52Speaker 2: get what you're saying. Yes, I would need to hear
- 13:02Speaker 2: Twilight again to really see the difference in how that
- 13:09Speaker 2: dialect shows up, and like if if it is different
- 13:16Speaker 2: enough to be like hey, yeah, okay, like we as
- 13:19Speaker 2: humans on planet Earth who have who know French people,
- 13:23Speaker 2: like we know the difference. Yeah, But if you are
- 13:26Speaker 2: looking in this scope of this far off place in
- 13:30Speaker 2: a galaxy far far far away. Is it possible for
- 13:37Speaker 2: the whole world of these people and the whole world
- 13:39Speaker 2: of these people to have such a close dialect.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's because that's like the biggest thing, right
- 13:48Speaker 3: is like, are if they're in the same sector, then
- 13:53Speaker 3: maybe you could potentially explain it away. But I just
- 13:56Speaker 3: feel like with the heritage that Gorman has and the
- 13:59Speaker 3: heritage that Rylov has, I feel based on what they
- 14:05Speaker 3: have given us so far for Gorman is that it
- 14:07Speaker 3: is a deeply rich culture with the spiders and everything,
- 14:13Speaker 3: and I just feel like we kind of merged it
- 14:18Speaker 3: because we didn't want to les involved because this is
- 14:23Speaker 3: another thing for the whole arc is again there's not
- 14:26Speaker 3: enough aliens in this arc. So is it like it
- 14:32Speaker 3: most likely boiled down to a budgeting problem. But it's like, okay,
- 14:37Speaker 3: but you already have this, And I know each show
- 14:40Speaker 3: doesn't like we're using other people's elements, but I feel
- 14:46Speaker 3: like this should have been something that was easy to do.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I agree.
- 14:51Speaker 5: All right, y'all, we're going to hit our first ad
- 14:53Speaker 5: break and we will be right back in three two one.
- 14:58Speaker 2: And I do. I do like use of the spider
- 15:04Speaker 2: and the allegory of like, you know, a trap, weaving
- 15:11Speaker 2: a web and falling into its trap. And I like
- 15:16Speaker 2: that idea for what we are literally seeing happening with
- 15:21Speaker 2: the Gormans. Cyril gets entangled into the the Gormans plan
- 15:34Speaker 2: to take over. What we now see is, of course,
- 15:41Speaker 2: the Empire kind of stepping on them. There the Empire
- 15:44Speaker 2: has taken over, but hasn't yet. Of course they are
- 15:50Speaker 2: spinning their their propaganda of like, oh, this is of
- 15:54Speaker 2: course just to protect you, like we we are not
- 15:56Speaker 2: here to intrude, We're not here to do da da da.
- 15:59Speaker 2: But they're building an armory in the center of town
- 16:04Speaker 2: or the city. We heard this story of about uh
- 16:09Speaker 2: Tarkan fifteen years ago, basically slaughtering like which does which.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Did answer my question about the tark And massacre, because
- 16:19Speaker 3: I believe originally the Gorman masker was the target massacre,
- 16:23Speaker 3: and so now they're kind of differentiating it as two things.
- 16:26Speaker 3: So you have the target massacre on Gorman and now
- 16:29Speaker 3: you're going to have an additional Gorman massacre. And I say, originally, y'all,
- 16:34Speaker 3: I'm talking about legends. Yeah, I just want to make
- 16:37Speaker 3: sure that's clear, because sometimes people are like, what do
- 16:40Speaker 3: you mean Originally, Yeah, so I did like getting that
- 16:46Speaker 3: question answered.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I how do you feel because here's the here's the
- 16:55Speaker 2: ultimate question. Because we do have this small scene. I
- 17:00Speaker 2: I think it's very small but significant with the idea
- 17:04Speaker 2: of of course Cyril being the man for the empire.
- 17:09Speaker 2: He has always he has always been the man who
- 17:13Speaker 2: is working for the government. Like that's that's just who
- 17:16Speaker 2: he is, right, But you have this conversation with him
- 17:21Speaker 2: and his mother.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Four so confused and she and she.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Of course is not okay with this whole transfer of
- 17:34Speaker 2: him going to Gorman. He had a perfect life, he
- 17:37Speaker 2: had a nice woman on his side, like giving all
- 17:40Speaker 2: these compliments and again like there's this conversation of propaganda
- 17:46Speaker 2: and how Gorman is not safe and like all of
- 17:48Speaker 2: these other things. Right. But I think it's significant because
- 17:53Speaker 2: there might be a sliver of an opportunity for Cyril
- 18:03Speaker 2: to not be okay with what takes place.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Well, and I think we do kind of see that
- 18:11Speaker 3: with the end of episode six, with the death of
- 18:15Speaker 3: one of our key characters from season one. I think
- 18:20Speaker 3: Cyril's kind of sharing that and he's reporting what's going
- 18:23Speaker 3: on with this heist because he's given he's given the
- 18:27Speaker 3: Gorman Front all of like the transport plans and like
- 18:30Speaker 3: which transports are carrying weapons and which ones aren't. So
- 18:34Speaker 3: now the Gorman Front has planned a heist and brought
- 18:38Speaker 3: in one of our key characters, or two of our
- 18:40Speaker 3: key characters. I guess I'll go ahead and say that.
- 18:43Speaker 3: But he is watching the heist go down to kind
- 18:46Speaker 3: of confirm what's going on, and he sees what happens
- 18:50Speaker 3: and it like kind of shocks him to.
- 18:53Speaker 2: His core yep. Yeah. Uh, and so I think along
- 19:01Speaker 2: with the idea that he will eventually find out that
- 19:07Speaker 2: Dedra was not one hundred truthful with him. Yeah, And
- 19:12Speaker 2: so I do believe there is a little bit of
- 19:15Speaker 2: leeway for him to maybe not I'm not going to
- 19:22Speaker 2: go as far as to say he's going to turn. Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I don't think he's turning, But he may walk away
- 19:29Speaker 3: from his job in the Empire.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But he may walk away, which is there is a
- 19:34Speaker 2: set precedent in the Star Wars universe for this to
- 19:40Speaker 2: happen with Imperial employees. Yep. Yeah, So I think that
- 19:47Speaker 2: it is very much possible with this staying with the
- 19:54Speaker 2: Dedra Serial Empire conversation. H I can never remember his
- 20:02Speaker 2: goddamn name. Uh No, there is an actor his character.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I always laugh because he looks like Taylor from geek Verse,
- 20:16Speaker 2: the tall, lanky, redhead dude that talks to Luthan. Is
- 20:23Speaker 2: it supervisor Lannie? Yes, yes, Lnnie and Jung supervisor Lannie.
- 20:33Speaker 2: He's the one with a little thin mustache.
- 20:38Speaker 3: To the blind book.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, he's uh uh. I always recognize him because
- 20:47Speaker 2: he's very tall, but he also has a huge receiving hairline.
- 20:50Speaker 2: No offense, but his conversation with luth telling Luthen, of
- 20:57Speaker 2: course he's he's been the informant form for quite some
- 21:00Speaker 2: time now, ever since season one, And there's a moment
- 21:06Speaker 2: in episode four where they meet again on that elevator
- 21:12Speaker 2: and he's telling him about Gorman, and Luthen's like, what's
- 21:15Speaker 2: this whole obsession with Gorman? What's going on? Like? Why? Why? Why? Why?
- 21:20Speaker 2: And he tells them like, hey, all I know is
- 21:22Speaker 2: that Dedra's now in charge. You know, they they made
- 21:25Speaker 2: it as a front to like make it look like
- 21:28Speaker 2: a bad thing, but we're not entirely sure that's the
- 21:30Speaker 2: case anymore so I don't know what else to tell you.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And he's like, well, I need the endgame. I need
- 21:36Speaker 2: the endgame on this. He's like, I don't know, but
- 21:39Speaker 2: I really like the line where he says, like, because
- 21:43Speaker 2: Luthen is like so like eager to get information, he
- 21:48Speaker 2: tells Luthen, you used to tell me to wait, like
- 21:52Speaker 2: you used to like tell me to have patience and
- 21:55Speaker 2: all this other stuff, and Luthen tells him's like, well
- 21:57Speaker 2: those days are past us.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Lutherans getting a little impatient. And you can kind
- 22:03Speaker 3: of see it with his arc with Clear, which runs
- 22:07Speaker 3: into mon and parents. I have words the empire area
- 22:13Speaker 3: of this story. I feel like it was really well done. Uh.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Dedra Padagra is not really in these episodes a whole lot.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I feel like, oh gosh, what's what's the address the
- 22:25Speaker 3: one who plays Cyril?
- 22:27Speaker 2: Uh Cyril his name is? I have it right here.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Uh Kyle Solar.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Kyle Solar has done an incredible job. And I know
- 22:40Speaker 3: we're not getting like we're not getting a story that
- 22:46Speaker 3: follows like a linear timeline here. I mean it is linear,
- 22:51Speaker 3: but like it's not a continuous linear timeline. Uh. And
- 22:57Speaker 3: I feel like Solars still doing a very good job
- 23:00Speaker 3: showcasing those differences between his character over the year and everything,
- 23:06Speaker 3: and he came off very convincing. In the beginning. I
- 23:09Speaker 3: was very confused with his phone call with his mom,
- 23:12Speaker 3: uh because I was like, wait, Ceil doesn't talk like this,
- 23:16Speaker 3: what like? Yeah, yeah, it was very convincing that he
- 23:20Speaker 3: had flipped the switch to becoming annoyed with the Empire.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I really liked that as well. Trying to
- 23:33Speaker 2: think if there's anything else, well, just because well, you
- 23:37Speaker 2: know what, we'll talk about that scene specifically later, the
- 23:41Speaker 2: whole thing at the party and critic and all of that. Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 2: because that's that's really really nice. Let's jump to Bis
- 23:50Speaker 2: and Cassium.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Oh and y'all, I just want to apologize once again
- 23:54Speaker 3: for my audio. My audios. I'm having issues with headphones
- 24:00Speaker 3: and stuff, and I keep forgetting the mute. Wait Clay
- 24:03Speaker 3: is talking, but I'm also super congested and my drugs
- 24:07Speaker 3: are wearing off, so it's just a hot mess. Again.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'm very sorry, Thank you for being here.
- 24:13Speaker 2: But let's talk about Bix and Cassian specifically. They're this
- 24:22Speaker 2: entire arc, episode four through six. Specifically for Bix and
- 24:30Speaker 2: Cassian is strangely enough about morality. It is this idea
- 24:44Speaker 2: that like we don't know if bis prior to the
- 24:56Speaker 2: killing that happened, that those two people that she killed
- 25:03Speaker 2: in episode three, like we don't know prior to that,
- 25:08Speaker 2: how many people she has killed. But with these like
- 25:16Speaker 2: hallucinations PTSD driven episodes that she has been having, we
- 25:29Speaker 2: know that she had one in the in episode four
- 25:32Speaker 2: that was with this soldier and we later find out
- 25:35Speaker 2: that Cassian had killed this soldier because he gave the
- 25:41Speaker 2: excuse he was an Imperial soldier. He is dead and
- 25:46Speaker 2: we are alive. We are alive because he is dead
- 25:49Speaker 2: and that is final.
- 25:52Speaker 3: And Cassie also reasons it was like, Okay, this is
- 25:55Speaker 3: what he signed up for. I signed up for this too,
- 25:57Speaker 3: so if I ended up in a torture chair, I'm
- 26:00Speaker 3: be accepting of it. Like obviously I don't want to die,
- 26:02Speaker 3: but yeah, I know, Hey, that's what I signed up
- 26:04Speaker 3: for kind of thing. But Bix breaks up, Hey, you
- 26:09Speaker 3: ondly killed him because he saw my face and.
- 26:13Speaker 2: He asks, what's the difference. I sat there, I paused
- 26:20Speaker 2: the damn show, and I really thought about it. What's
- 26:26Speaker 2: the difference when you look at these two conversations, Well,
- 26:34Speaker 2: if you look at this conversation with these two ways
- 26:37Speaker 2: of thinking. Okay, he is an imperial, we know that
- 26:43Speaker 2: we are rebels. He would have known if the situation
- 26:49Speaker 2: would have escalated. Again, we don't know the situation. This
- 26:52Speaker 2: happened off screen, so we are just getting small pockets
- 26:56Speaker 2: of context here. Okay, he sees them, he probably would
- 27:03Speaker 2: have called in for backup, caused a huge mess blah
- 27:06Speaker 2: blah blah, and probably would have made their escape a
- 27:09Speaker 2: lot harder, if not impossible. So there is that, and
- 27:16Speaker 2: so of course Cassian's only thought is, hey, he needs
- 27:21Speaker 2: to die so we can survive. And then the conversation
- 27:27Speaker 2: of seeing her face, it's the exact same thing. If
- 27:32Speaker 2: they know their faces, which some of them do, if
- 27:39Speaker 2: they are actually identified as Cassian and Or and Bicks,
- 27:48Speaker 2: they are then on the run even further than what
- 27:51Speaker 2: they have been.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Yeah, because the Empire has Cassian's face from Cereal's days
- 27:58Speaker 3: as a cop. He pulled that then, and they know
- 28:02Speaker 3: Cassian was involved, So it's like, Okay, Cassie and is
- 28:07Speaker 3: hidingg course it. Pix is like, oh yeah, well let's
- 28:09Speaker 3: just go to the park, and Cassie's like they it's
- 28:12Speaker 3: dog cameras there, we can't go there, like, but this
- 28:16Speaker 3: is course hide like they're heide God corse.
- 28:20Speaker 2: They and but that was that was the thing that
- 28:23Speaker 2: I was questioning, is like one of my notes is
- 28:29Speaker 2: that they are legitimately trying to actually live life as
- 28:34Speaker 2: much as they can. They're having strolls, like because, like
- 28:38Speaker 2: you said, Bix is asking, hey, can we go on
- 28:40Speaker 2: a walk tomorrow? Like living a life as a rebel
- 28:44Speaker 2: is probably not the greatest, especially with the way that
- 28:49Speaker 2: Cassian and Bix are living super paranoid. They can't just
- 28:55Speaker 2: live freely, So yeah, I can see why this can
- 29:00Speaker 2: be so chaotic. One thing that we forgot to mention
- 29:04Speaker 2: on the imperial side, Dedra is still wanting to keep
- 29:08Speaker 2: notes on Cassian, Like there is one instance where Cassian
- 29:13Speaker 2: was kind of mentioned because of this arrest that was
- 29:17Speaker 2: made full of like all of these different weapons, and
- 29:21Speaker 2: she's like, oh, this is this is part of the rebellion,
- 29:24Speaker 2: Like Cassian needs to be found and was trying to
- 29:27Speaker 2: get somebody I can't remember his name.
- 29:30Speaker 3: It was another supervisor who would take it over the
- 29:33Speaker 3: Access project.
- 29:34Speaker 2: And she was like, oh, you can have all the glory, Bud,
- 29:37Speaker 2: you can have all the glory on this, but you
- 29:40Speaker 2: need to pull me in. And he's like, it's not
- 29:42Speaker 2: about the glory, Like, it's not about the fame. It's
- 29:45Speaker 2: about just doing the job. Yeah, And she got pissed and.
- 29:52Speaker 3: The other thing. Like Dedra doesn't make a whole lot
- 29:56Speaker 3: of appearances in this arc, like I said, but I
- 29:59Speaker 3: also feel like he does it either, despite how present
- 30:03Speaker 3: he is an episode two. And this is something that's
- 30:06Speaker 3: always been a pet peeve for me. If you're going
- 30:09Speaker 3: to name a project after a character, that character needs
- 30:12Speaker 3: to be the forefront. And it's something that Ander has
- 30:15Speaker 3: struggled with the entire way because it's got a vast cast.
- 30:19Speaker 3: And I'm not saying there's a problem with that, but
- 30:22Speaker 3: what I am saying is maybe we could have named
- 30:24Speaker 3: this something different in order to accomplish the same goal.
- 30:29Speaker 5: We're gonna go into our second ad break and we'll
- 30:33Speaker 5: be right back.
- 30:34Speaker 2: So with Bix and Cassian, you know they have this
- 30:40Speaker 2: whole debate about morality and whatnot, and we know that
- 30:46Speaker 2: Bix is currently having a little bit of a substance
- 30:50Speaker 2: abuse problem, but it's the only way she can relax,
- 30:56Speaker 2: it seems it's the only way she is able to
- 30:59Speaker 2: fall asleep, and Cassian and Luthan both know about this issue,
- 31:06Speaker 2: so it seems.
- 31:07Speaker 3: And Luthen doesn't want her addicted because then that means
- 31:10Speaker 3: she's not useful. Yeah, and Cassian obviously wants her better
- 31:15Speaker 3: for his own mental health and everything. And Luthen pays
- 31:19Speaker 3: Bix a visit while Cassian is on.
- 31:24Speaker 2: His mission at Gorman.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, his mission at Gorman. And Cassie comes back and
- 31:30Speaker 3: finds out and is like, dude, this ain't cool, Like
- 31:34Speaker 3: you goes.
- 31:35Speaker 2: To Luthan's shot guys, and this is this is part
- 31:41Speaker 2: of Luthen's story too that I want to slap the motherfucker.
- 31:45Speaker 2: My thoughts on Luthen from season one to season two
- 31:50Speaker 2: have totally flipped. This motherfucker gaslighting everyone everyone with all
- 32:01Speaker 2: of these thoughts of like, oh, like I thought you
- 32:04Speaker 2: were in for this. I thought you did. It's like
- 32:07Speaker 2: you pulled them in. You did this, You.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Pulled them in, and you know what, there's nothing wrong
- 32:13Speaker 3: with also taking some time and pretending like there's nothing wrong,
- 32:17Speaker 3: Like I don't think bicks who's like, yeah, let's like
- 32:22Speaker 3: go get some pretty dishes like towels, like spowers. I
- 32:27Speaker 3: don't think there's anything wrong with that to just pretend
- 32:30Speaker 3: you have some area of normalcy in your life.
- 32:32Speaker 2: You need some humanity to keep yourself sane. Yeah. Right,
- 32:37Speaker 2: And with this though, one of the next scenes that
- 32:43Speaker 2: we see with Bicks, she goes into this building and
- 32:48Speaker 2: she well, first, no, no, no, we don't even see her
- 32:51Speaker 2: go into the building.
- 32:52Speaker 3: No, we don't.
- 32:53Speaker 2: We see doctor. We see doctor Gorst, and we have
- 32:58Speaker 2: been seeing him quite some time season, and we also
- 33:01Speaker 2: saw him last season. He is the one that tortured Bix.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Oh, because that's another thing we forgot. So Patter Gaz
- 33:09Speaker 3: tells Lonnie and the other supervisor that's in charge of
- 33:12Speaker 3: the Access project. Oh, the Navy really likes how doctor
- 33:17Speaker 3: Gorse's he calls them interviews. But like the torture sessions
- 33:21Speaker 3: are going, we'd like to expand this program. We're going
- 33:25Speaker 3: to give you a whole warehouse and set up trading
- 33:27Speaker 3: grismands and you're gonna be in charge of this. That's
- 33:30Speaker 3: important because of this last scene. And we can go
- 33:33Speaker 3: back and talk about Cassie and al Gorman. Yes, but
- 33:37Speaker 3: like I need to talk about this last scene.
- 33:39Speaker 2: So, so we see doctor Gorse. He goes into this room.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Of course where the seat is, and you just the
- 33:49Speaker 2: lights turn on and you see Bix in the corner.
- 33:52Speaker 2: You're like, oh shit, And my mind went to, girl,
- 33:56Speaker 2: what are you doing? You are going to get in
- 33:58Speaker 2: so much trouble. This is gonna be much harder on Cassie.
- 34:01Speaker 2: And then you think like you're gonna make it so
- 34:04Speaker 2: much harder for them to move forward with the rebellion.
- 34:07Speaker 2: You're gonna get caught, like all these different things are
- 34:10Speaker 2: gonna happen. I was so tearing her down and I
- 34:14Speaker 2: want to apologize.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Okay, it was another nightmare.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Oh no, I I felt that it was too real.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I had completely lost context of where we were at
- 34:25Speaker 3: because again I didn't get to pay super close to
- 34:28Speaker 3: these episodes. But I went back and watched Cassie and
- 34:31Speaker 3: with Lucid and Cassie, it's like, you want me in this,
- 34:35Speaker 3: you will help me fix this, And in that instance,
- 34:38Speaker 3: I thought he was talking about something else. He's talking
- 34:40Speaker 3: about fix yeah, like please help me put her back
- 34:43Speaker 3: together is basically what he's saying.
- 34:46Speaker 2: And so I thought it it felt too real to
- 34:51Speaker 2: be a dream. So I was like, oh no, girl,
- 34:53Speaker 2: like this is this is this is bad. This is bad,
- 34:56Speaker 2: and she just leaves him in the cha walks away,
- 35:01Speaker 2: so you know he's gonna be tortured for hours before
- 35:04Speaker 2: they can even find him. He's probably gonna be dead
- 35:06Speaker 2: a freaking vegetable before anybody can even find him. She
- 35:11Speaker 2: goes down this hall. Of course, a security guard is like, hey,
- 35:15Speaker 2: you can't be here. Boom, she blasts him, and I'm
- 35:18Speaker 2: just thinking, oh god, this is even worse. What are
- 35:22Speaker 2: you doing? And the camera shifts to only see her
- 35:26Speaker 2: walking away, and then the camera spans back again and
- 35:32Speaker 2: you see Cassie in right next to her, and my
- 35:35Speaker 2: jaw hit the fucking floor because never did I think,
- 35:41Speaker 2: holy shit, he's actually somewhat walking away, but not really.
- 35:46Speaker 2: He is telling everybody with this statement, she is more
- 35:51Speaker 2: important than anything else. She is my rock. If she
- 35:56Speaker 2: is not good, then I am not good. If you
- 35:59Speaker 2: want me to be a good she needs to be
- 36:01Speaker 2: better and this is how she's gonna get better, So
- 36:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna help her.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:06Speaker 2: But like I said, my brain was basically spewing out
- 36:09Speaker 2: my ears. I was like, what it was so goodography.
- 36:17Speaker 3: In that shot with the visual effect was killer.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Like it.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Looks like something you would see in an action bitter movie.
- 36:26Speaker 3: That's like I had people working on it for years
- 36:30Speaker 3: kind of thing, like it looks really good.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so good.
- 36:34Speaker 3: And I was super proud of this because she didn't
- 36:38Speaker 3: overdo it, she didn't get caught, she winted, she knew
- 36:41Speaker 3: her mission, Like, hey, this guy's gonna die screaming with
- 36:45Speaker 3: this sounded his ears, but I'm also going to blow
- 36:48Speaker 3: up the building for dramatic effect, like yeah, kill it,
- 36:52Speaker 3: kill it, Cirl.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I think my heart is so good. Uh, I'm
- 37:00Speaker 2: much in the scene now, like you can kind of
- 37:02Speaker 2: you even see her kind of like have her eyes
- 37:04Speaker 2: like moved to Cassian and you're like what and then
- 37:07Speaker 2: he jumps in the frame. Oh so good, so so good.
- 37:11Speaker 2: But moving to this is we'll be able to talk
- 37:16Speaker 2: to about Cassian at Gorman because we're gonna move to
- 37:20Speaker 2: Santa and yeah, talk.
- 37:24Speaker 3: About Cassian in episode two on Gorman, and then we're
- 37:28Speaker 3: gonna kind of jump into Santa and Bell because both
- 37:30Speaker 3: of us kind of intertwined.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Sin sins Cassian automission and is like, hey, Gorman, I
- 37:42Speaker 3: hear it's good, like because he's heard from Longmie, like hey,
- 37:45Speaker 3: there's something going on to Gorman, and Cassian is basically
- 37:49Speaker 3: his best rep at this time that he trusts, and
- 37:52Speaker 3: so he goes, you're gonna go to Gorman. You're gonna
- 37:55Speaker 3: tell me if it's worth getting into And this is
- 37:59Speaker 3: where we get to see Cassie and all dressed up.
- 38:01Speaker 3: We thought potentially in the trailer shots, oh, he's going
- 38:05Speaker 3: to lead his wedding, like he's going to be at
- 38:07Speaker 3: lead his wedding. No, he's a fashion designer.
- 38:11Speaker 2: And I've seen a lot of people kind of make
- 38:13Speaker 2: fun of this. I think it was a good front
- 38:17Speaker 2: as from what we've heard, especially from Luthen, Gorman is
- 38:23Speaker 2: a planet of wealth, so like I think it makes
- 38:29Speaker 2: sense to have somebody high class, like a like a designer,
- 38:33Speaker 2: a clothing designer, visit you know, see you know what
- 38:38Speaker 2: they can what they can do in the city. Uh
- 38:42Speaker 2: So I thought that was very clever, very.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Fun, because you can't go in as the poor person
- 38:48Speaker 3: in that if you go in as a factory worker,
- 38:51Speaker 3: you're not going to be able to move around like
- 38:53Speaker 3: somebody high classes. That's just unfortunately the way of the
- 38:58Speaker 3: world right now, and it's the way of the world
- 39:00Speaker 3: in Star Wars as well. So I think it was
- 39:04Speaker 3: a very good plot, the cover story for him, and
- 39:11Speaker 3: I liked how he was going to like the flight
- 39:14Speaker 3: deck and had his cover story playing his ear for
- 39:18Speaker 3: probably like Cleia or somebody. So he gets to Gorbuant
- 39:22Speaker 3: and he gets to be in these fancy hotels and everything,
- 39:25Speaker 3: and then he goes to a coffee shop and like
- 39:27Speaker 3: starts getting down the lay of the land. Well, the
- 39:31Speaker 3: daughter of the leader of the Garb Brunt basically jumps
- 39:36Speaker 3: ahead of him and is like, Hey, we gotta talk
- 39:39Speaker 3: right now, and Cassie is like, no, we don't. You're
- 39:43Speaker 3: getting I.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Love this scene. This scene where Cassie in just completely
- 39:53Speaker 2: shows how inexperienced these Gorman rebels are, because he says,
- 40:03Speaker 2: you don't know me. I might be the friend you've
- 40:06Speaker 2: been talking to. I might be imperial, I might be isb.
- 40:11Speaker 2: You just killed everyone you loved. Hey, but guess what
- 40:17Speaker 2: you got lucky this time because I am the person
- 40:19Speaker 2: you're looking for. I was like, ah, Like the delivery
- 40:26Speaker 2: of that of that whole segment was so good.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Cassian has learned so much from season one about who
- 40:33Speaker 3: he is and how to be a spy effectively, just
- 40:38Speaker 3: like the swapness and how could in control. He feels,
- 40:43Speaker 3: you can like diego, Luda kills it in this like
- 40:48Speaker 3: just bringing him to life and showcasing this transformation that
- 40:51Speaker 3: he's had over the years.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I love this. So the next day he
- 41:02Speaker 2: meets with of course her father and everybody else that's
- 41:06Speaker 2: a part of this movement, and they give Cassie in
- 41:11Speaker 2: the rundown on what's been happening, you know, and of
- 41:16Speaker 2: course Cassie, in the way that he is, is like, hey,
- 41:19Speaker 2: is it even safe to do this right right now?
- 41:22Speaker 2: And they're like, we looked for bugs. It's totally fine.
- 41:26Speaker 2: He's like, wouldn't that look very like like like you
- 41:32Speaker 2: you aren't you showing your hand here? You're looking for bugs.
- 41:36Speaker 2: He's like no, like everybody does it actually, Uh, it's
- 41:40Speaker 2: kind of a little sport we do because it's become
- 41:44Speaker 2: this thing in Gorman now that's like, hey, we know
- 41:48Speaker 2: the empire is here for us.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Well, they're also able to play it off because I mean,
- 41:53Speaker 3: and this is a real thing. Like designers take from
- 41:56Speaker 3: other people. That's why there's copyrights, that's why there's trademarks nowadays,
- 42:01Speaker 3: is to prevent people from stealing other things. So like
- 42:06Speaker 3: the leader guy is basically like, yeah, I mean people
- 42:09Speaker 3: will steal by recipe, like yeah, so yes, I'm picking
- 42:14Speaker 3: bugs for the Empire. But here's my legitimate reason.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah. And the overall assessment that uh Cassian feels out
- 42:30Speaker 2: of Gorman is they're inexperienced, They're rushing things, They're going
- 42:36Speaker 2: to get themselves killed. I want nothing to do with this.
- 42:41Speaker 2: And that's what he tells Luthen, and it says fuck you.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah see, and here is another fuck Lutheran story for you,
- 42:53Speaker 2: because Cassian says like, no, I don't want any part
- 42:56Speaker 2: of this, and he and Luthen says like, oh, this
- 43:00Speaker 2: is a rich like land, like you know, it could
- 43:04Speaker 2: be the forefront of the rebellion because he wants that spark.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Luten wants something to happen to where the rest of
- 43:13Speaker 2: the galaxy will say, hey, this isn't right, let's move
- 43:17Speaker 2: forward with this rebellion towards the Empire. That's what Luden wants.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Yes, because Gorman is also a very prosperous planet, and
- 43:25Speaker 3: so it would be the first prosperous planet to kind
- 43:28Speaker 3: of make that connection to the rebellion. Obviously, you have schedulate,
- 43:32Speaker 3: you have Aldaran. Both Bail and Mind at this point,
- 43:36Speaker 3: because we're going to talk about Bail have not made
- 43:41Speaker 3: like a legitimate commitment, like a vocal commitment to the rebellion.
- 43:45Speaker 3: They're doing everything in secret.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Mm hm.
- 43:50Speaker 3: So if Gorman makes a play for the rebellion, that
- 43:54Speaker 3: makes it more potent for other rich and prosperous planets
- 43:59Speaker 3: to come join it.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, And Cassian says, and what if they fail? And
- 44:05Speaker 2: Luthen says, then it's a spark that's gonna burn brighter
- 44:09Speaker 2: than ever. And I just said, fuck you, man, this
- 44:15Speaker 2: dude does not care, he does about anyone, anyone. And
- 44:22Speaker 2: this will be even more transparent when we talk about
- 44:26Speaker 2: him and Clia, because I have some fucking words. So
- 44:32Speaker 2: he calls Claia and he says, of course, they're always
- 44:36Speaker 2: talking in code. He's like, oh, I heard you have
- 44:38Speaker 2: another item heading this way. He said, I just delivered it.
- 44:42Speaker 2: And this moves our story from Cassie and being at
- 44:45Speaker 2: Gorman to well being at Gorman.
- 44:49Speaker 5: And we're about to jump into our third ad.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Y'all.
- 44:53Speaker 3: We promise we'll be right back.
- 44:54Speaker 2: We promise, well means well, that's the thing. Bell comes first,
- 45:00Speaker 2: and then the next day we see Santa show up
- 45:03Speaker 2: and we learn that Belle didn't want to do this
- 45:06Speaker 2: unless Centa was there. Katie, I knew, I knew what
- 45:14Speaker 2: was going to happen. I did the moment Santa said, oh,
- 45:22Speaker 2: I had an accident. I'll tell you sometime, and Belle
- 45:26Speaker 2: said you can tell me now, and she said no,
- 45:30Speaker 2: I'll tell you some other time. When that went down,
- 45:35Speaker 2: I was like, oh, girl, no, you better tell her
- 45:38Speaker 2: now because there's not going to be your next time.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Hearing that now. Yes, I should have put it together,
- 45:43Speaker 3: because yeah, that's classic trop right there, Very to die.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Yeah. I did like the butting of heads with this
- 46:01Speaker 2: bell taking control of the mission of the Rebellion of
- 46:06Speaker 2: Gorman and these other individuals saying like this person just
- 46:13Speaker 2: fucking walked in the in the door and now she's
- 46:15Speaker 2: taking control. Fuck this, Like we've been working hard at
- 46:18Speaker 2: doing this for months, if not years, and they're just
- 46:21Speaker 2: gonna take it over. Blah blah blah. Yep and vell
- 46:25Speaker 2: and since a Boat said like, hey, you've never fucking
- 46:29Speaker 2: done this before, so sit back, buckle your seatbelt and
- 46:34Speaker 2: shut the fuck up. Is basically what you walk it away? Yeah, yeah,
- 46:41Speaker 2: well they did not walk away. They didn't. They went
- 46:45Speaker 2: through the whole scenario. They went out to observe the
- 46:50Speaker 2: street that everything was gonna go down at and made
- 46:53Speaker 2: sure everything was going to happen exactly how they said it.
- 46:59Speaker 2: They planned it out and they said, okay, we're doing
- 47:01Speaker 2: this tomorrow night. See y'all. Peace out. Then, of course
- 47:07Speaker 2: things got a little hot and heavy between Santa and Veil.
- 47:13Speaker 2: And even then when that happened, I was like, oh, yeah,
- 47:17Speaker 2: just just this is the last dance, if you will.
- 47:23Speaker 2: And when everything went down, it was going down without
- 47:27Speaker 2: a hitch. Everything was going according to plan. There's two
- 47:31Speaker 2: moments that happened that you could see where the domino
- 47:35Speaker 2: start to fall. So in the actual meeting of how
- 47:39Speaker 2: this is all going to go down, Vell tells the
- 47:42Speaker 2: getaway driver, Hey, do not leave your post. If you leave,
- 47:50Speaker 2: that will cost all of us. Our lives were all dead.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Don't move. There's a moment when there's some ran I'm
- 48:00Speaker 2: civilian and she takes her and walks away. We don't
- 48:07Speaker 2: see her again. But then there is a younger kid.
- 48:13Speaker 3: This is the candy salesman that has been interacted with Cyril.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Cyril, yes, he had gotten mad at Bell because again
- 48:22Speaker 2: he was one of the individuals that was like, hey,
- 48:25Speaker 2: why are you in charge? Like all of this other stuff,
- 48:29Speaker 2: and one of the biggest things, the biggest demands of
- 48:35Speaker 2: Bell and Santa were nobody gets a blaster. The only
- 48:42Speaker 2: people that will be carrying blasters is Santa and myself,
- 48:46Speaker 2: And that was what Vale was saying. We then during
- 48:53Speaker 2: the operation see a familiar face from episode four. Episode four,
- 49:00Speaker 2: there was a secret meeting town hall of all of
- 49:05Speaker 2: the Gormans basically having it out of like, Hey, this
- 49:10Speaker 2: is the shit that's going down with the Empire right
- 49:12Speaker 2: now in our own planet, Like, this is what's going on,
- 49:16Speaker 2: and this dude was having his way and flicking them off.
- 49:21Speaker 2: I guess like the way that they flicked them off
- 49:23Speaker 2: is like they put their hand in front of them
- 49:25Speaker 2: and they slapped their wrists or their their forearm, is
- 49:28Speaker 2: how I guess. It's like an inappropriate gesture.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Of Ross and Fred's doing like that.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly exactly. This gentleman shows up and he's actually
- 49:41Speaker 2: getting pissed off. He's like, what the hell y'all doing?
- 49:44Speaker 2: Blah blah blah, Like he's he's purposely he calls out
- 49:50Speaker 2: the young kid. He knows him specifically, and he calls
- 49:52Speaker 2: him and he's like, Hey, what's going on? Blah blah blah,
- 49:54Speaker 2: And this kid pulls out a fucking blaster. He's like,
- 50:00Speaker 2: step back, I don't want to do this where everything's
- 50:02Speaker 2: working out fine, blah blah. And the dude's like, oh,
- 50:05Speaker 2: you pull the blaster. You want to kill me. If
- 50:07Speaker 2: you're gonna kill me, you better fucking do it now,
- 50:09Speaker 2: or this is gonna get a lot worse for you.
- 50:13Speaker 2: There is a struggle. The blaster goes off and you
- 50:19Speaker 2: don't see who it hits, at least not immediately, and
- 50:24Speaker 2: then when people start to gather, when people are trying
- 50:28Speaker 2: to figure out what the hell's going on, that's when
- 50:31Speaker 2: Bell looks down and sees who got shot.
- 50:38Speaker 3: I was so bad about this because I feel like
- 50:44Speaker 3: it needed to be said to who survived to kind
- 50:48Speaker 3: of realize what she had and then like go like, okay,
- 50:51Speaker 3: I need to stand up to luthd or. I don't
- 50:54Speaker 3: think this is going to teach Bell to stay up
- 50:57Speaker 3: to Luthed.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I know people don't want to hear it, but the
- 51:01Speaker 2: only reason why she died is because she's brown. Have
- 51:03Speaker 2: all those people, she's the only brown person that died.
- 51:06Speaker 2: We have seen the underlining tone, the underlining story of
- 51:12Speaker 2: this series. The people of color are always the ones
- 51:19Speaker 2: that have the worst times during war, right now that
- 51:25Speaker 2: is bis Cassian and now Senta being dead.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a very good point because I was the
- 51:35Speaker 3: main reason why I was like, okay, it's Centa is
- 51:37Speaker 3: because the actress is the new doctor who like.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Con Yes, yes, makes sense. I thought I recognized her
- 51:48Speaker 2: by the way I didn't hit. I didn't connect the
- 51:51Speaker 2: two until you just said him. I was like, Yep,
- 51:53Speaker 2: that's totally true.
- 51:54Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, it totally makes sense when you think about it,
- 51:59Speaker 3: not not like it totally makes sense, like there's a
- 52:02Speaker 3: good reason for it in this case because you probably
- 52:05Speaker 3: didn't have the shooting schedule to get a bunch of
- 52:09Speaker 3: in or stuff filmed.
- 52:11Speaker 2: H correct.
- 52:12Speaker 3: At least that's my hope, and that Gilroy then changed
- 52:15Speaker 3: the script to be like, okay, we're writing said to out. Yeah,
- 52:21Speaker 3: because it just sucks because I really like her in
- 52:23Speaker 3: Star Wars. I think she's a really good character. Uh.
- 52:27Speaker 2: I think that they have a great dynamic. And again
- 52:32Speaker 2: I know that I get my there there is if
- 52:37Speaker 2: people don't know if you're just now listening to us
- 52:40Speaker 2: for the fact that you're wanting to listen to and
- 52:42Speaker 2: or reviews. It is a ongoing thing for me personally
- 52:47Speaker 2: in our reviews of any book, TV show, or whatever.
- 52:51Speaker 2: I need characters to have somewhat of a happy ending.
- 52:55Speaker 2: That's what I personally want, Senta, and well, we're characters
- 53:01Speaker 2: that I was hoping, out of all of the chaos
- 53:05Speaker 2: and all of the bullshit that they would still have
- 53:08Speaker 2: somewhat of a happy ending. That is not the case,
- 53:12Speaker 2: the case at all. No, And when this happens, they
- 53:19Speaker 2: all just pick up and go. They still have to
- 53:21Speaker 2: move on with the mission because that's what it is.
- 53:24Speaker 2: And even they'll like, she is a little shell shocked,
- 53:29Speaker 2: but her feet are still able to move, She's able
- 53:31Speaker 2: to do everything. When they finally get on the truck
- 53:33Speaker 2: with all of the cargo, they leave and this kid
- 53:37Speaker 2: starts to cry, and I nearly started to freaking like
- 53:42Speaker 2: tear up myself with how this actress was able to
- 53:47Speaker 2: deliver this line of Oh, she was more than you
- 53:52Speaker 2: will ever be in this entire rebellion, Like you don't
- 53:56Speaker 2: deserve to be able to cry. She was my world.
- 54:02Speaker 2: She was like all of these different things. I loved
- 54:05Speaker 2: this scene. It was so heartbreaking. She delivered it so well. Yep,
- 54:11Speaker 2: but this is what happens when you don't follow command,
- 54:17Speaker 2: and this is exactly what Santa even said.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Yep.
- 54:22Speaker 2: People will lose their lives when they don't follow command,
- 54:26Speaker 2: and it's super frustrating that it had to happen to Santa.
- 54:31Speaker 3: I still don't think the Gorban front is going to
- 54:36Speaker 3: basically be like hey, but like she died for a
- 54:40Speaker 3: good cause kind of thing, Like this kid is not
- 54:45Speaker 3: going to take any blame, even though I want him to,
- 54:49Speaker 3: because I think that's just the way the rebellion is
- 54:52Speaker 3: going to work. Like who knows, maybe they're going to
- 54:55Speaker 3: bring in this random stormtrooper that just happened to be
- 54:59Speaker 3: walking by and that's who shot Cinta instead of the
- 55:03Speaker 3: candy salesman kid.
- 55:05Speaker 2: So it was.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Really heartbreaking to watch. I was super upset by getting
- 55:14Speaker 3: to this scene because it's like, dude, like that Santa,
- 55:20Speaker 3: and she was a really important character I think. And
- 55:24Speaker 3: again they do get the LGBTQ representation in with the couple.
- 55:31Speaker 3: They have like a one best romance scene kind of thing.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Like you said, it still sucks.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it does. It really really does. But I
- 55:47Speaker 2: think that can lead us into Luthen and Claya's story
- 55:52Speaker 2: for this arc.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Which that leads into mad Mathma Bail. Do we want
- 55:59Speaker 3: to go ahead and talk about Bay?
- 56:01Speaker 2: Yeah? I got spoiled.
- 56:04Speaker 3: I was wondering, but I did want to ask in
- 56:06Speaker 3: case it was somebody else. Uh.
- 56:10Speaker 2: This this was the thing. Of course. The recast was
- 56:15Speaker 2: the spoiler that got me literally before episode one, like,
- 56:20Speaker 2: that's the thing. This happens on episode six.
- 56:23Speaker 3: It looks like it was a trailer based on like
- 56:27Speaker 3: some of the screenshots people are showcasing. What yeah, Like
- 56:34Speaker 3: there's already pictures of Bail in the Senate chamber. Really yeah,
- 56:43Speaker 3: because that was my big question after watching episode six,
- 56:47Speaker 3: I was like, okay, please tell me, Like, and I
- 56:50Speaker 3: have faith a little bit, but I'm also used to
- 56:53Speaker 3: Dave Filodi who's like, oh yeah, cameo, cameo, cameo. Oh,
- 56:58Speaker 3: So I was like, please tell me. He and to
- 57:00Speaker 3: hear just so people talk about this now literally what
- 57:03Speaker 3: Tony Gilroy said. So it is Sitate invested Sure Week,
- 57:07Speaker 3: which basically correlates with Empire Day relatively. It's where the
- 57:11Speaker 3: Senate makes their commitments back to the Senate. There's like
- 57:17Speaker 3: big celebrations and everything, and that's where like the final
- 57:21Speaker 3: that's where Man, Bathma, Luthen, and Clia all end up
- 57:25Speaker 3: at as one of these parties with Skaldon and so
- 57:32Speaker 3: Manmatha and Parent are walking in and Bail is walking
- 57:35Speaker 3: out and you just get this brief interaction and Parent's like,
- 57:39Speaker 3: well what about Bria, and Bale's like nah, like we
- 57:42Speaker 3: decided to go our like hit separate parties this time around. Yeah,
- 57:49Speaker 3: And the recast actor himself is Benjamin Brat, which I
- 57:56Speaker 3: was super impressed with.
- 57:58Speaker 2: I I love this casting. This has actually been like
- 58:08Speaker 2: an ideal recast for me. If anything, if if Jimmy
- 58:13Speaker 2: ever decided, hey, I don't want to do this anymore,
- 58:16Speaker 2: this is exactly who I would need to be Bail. Yeah,
- 58:23Speaker 2: it's very weird, but he actually he actually has a
- 58:31Speaker 2: like current relationship with Disney right now with Coco. So
- 58:39Speaker 2: uh if if if nobody knows, uh, if you have
- 58:44Speaker 2: never seen Coco, Benjamin did have a main role. He
- 58:50Speaker 2: was one of the leads in Coco. Uh. Coco is
- 58:55Speaker 2: getting a sequel, so I'm sure that relationship is ongoing.
- 59:01Speaker 2: So I think it was very easy for Disney and
- 59:04Speaker 2: even Star Wars to be like, hey, would you be
- 59:07Speaker 2: willing to do this?
- 59:10Speaker 3: And he he doesn't look exactly like Jimmy, but he's
- 59:13Speaker 3: a close match.
- 59:15Speaker 2: The way, because I do believe I'll have to actually
- 59:20Speaker 2: go back and look at the actual episode, but like
- 59:27Speaker 2: I believe Jimmy's facial hair and Benjamin's facial hair for
- 59:35Speaker 2: the exact scene. I think Benjamin has a little bit
- 59:41Speaker 2: more gray yeah in there, whereas Jimmy's usually just has
- 59:48Speaker 2: like a just kind of a flat like maybe a
- 59:51Speaker 2: little bit of salt and pepper, whereas now this one
- 59:54Speaker 2: with Benjamin is actually more gray. Yeah. So that's the
- 59:58Speaker 2: only difference really, And this.
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: This would be our final ad break.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: So y'all thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: We'll be right back. They said this was because Jimmy
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: couldn't make the schedule work with how and or was
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: shooting at like the strikes and everything.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: So Tony did say I did recently see an interview.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Maybe it was just like a short video on like
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: a TikTok or something, but I could have sworn he
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: said that Jimmy actually has a project happening right now.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Whether that be a TV show or a movie, I'm
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: not entirely sure. But he actually has like a whole
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: nother project he's currently working on.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Yeah that I don't know. It sucks that Jimmy couldn't
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: get back, but I would rather have a recast the
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: shaddy CGI deep thing.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm glad that they were. They went the route
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: of just this recast because this is what we've been
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: asking for. Hey, whether it be because you know, you know,
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: I will not lie back. When I first saw Rogue
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: one and I saw Tarkan, I said to myself, holy shit,
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: they actually did it. This is pretty interesting and pretty
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: intense with how accurate this thing is his entire body
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: with CGI, the entire thing. I thought that was impressive
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: at the time. Looking at it now, it would have
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: been a lot cheaper and better for morality overall. Just recast.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: That's all you gotta do.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: And I get it's so close to a new Hope
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: that people were like, oh, I don't really want it
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: to look any different.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: M No.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I would have much rather had new people come
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: in h for that movie, but we did, is what
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: it is like. At least Gilroy has taken the sins
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: of the past and God, no, we're.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Not gonna do that exactly. Yeah, who knows.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: Maybe Jimmy was like, no, you cannot do that.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, maybe that was it also, right yep. But
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: moving on to Luthen and Clia in episode five specifically, okay,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: because let me actually look at some notes here to
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: see if there was anything big with them in episode
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: four did you do? Yeah, there wasn't a whole lot
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: with Luthen and Leah in episode four. It was really
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: episode five. In episode six, there is a line and
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: I actually have it written down and I've already made
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: the comment Luthen has been gaslighting the fuck out of
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: a lot of people this season, and that does not
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: mean that Leiah is out of Harm's way, even though
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: he even though she works with him the closest right
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: he tells her this line, He says, because they're talking
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: about the idea that currently with the party that they're
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: going to in episode six, the collection of items that
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: whereas their bug is by the.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: Way, Yes, it is all about items over the years
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: to people and putting bugs at them so they can
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: glean the important information.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Yep. And now that one has been found as a forgery.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: They are now all gonna be inspected, and Claia's like,
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: oh shit, our bug is gonna be found. She relays
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: this information to Luthan even says because he says, Oh,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: please give me some good news. I need it. And
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: she's like, hah, you're gonna have to wait on that one. Hey,
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: you know that bug we have on this item, it's
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: gonna be found. They're wiping, you know, they're they're inspecting
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: all of the items. They're gonna find our bug. And
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: this motherfucker has the audacity. He says to Claia these lines,
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: we've laid, the signals, the frequencies. I can't keep up
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: with it, and you keep pretending like we can. He
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: points the finger at Claia and says, you think we
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: can do this? Motherfucker. It has been luthing this entire
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: freaking time that has pushed everybody to the brink and
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: literally gaslight him to say, like to have them do
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: these crazy ass things for the rebellion, and then him
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: turn around and be like, hey, that was all you,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: That was all you. Fuck that guy. This dude has
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: not a care in the goddamn world for anybody, And
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: you can you can sit here and fight with me
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: and said, hey, it's all for the greater good. It's
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: for the rebellion. He's gonna help defeat you know, the
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: the the empire is gonna fall one day, and it
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: couldn't have never happened without Luthen.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: Fuck all, y'all, yes, because you like tar, pressure is
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: absolutely a thing and people need to get over it.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: That is dropping me off Afred if you have never
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: used Affred, it's freaking miracle drug. Not sponsored, but like
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Afred sponsored. Be questioned, why please hold, I'm gonna turned
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: my camera off because this is a little awkward.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but the way that Luthen has been saying this,
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: we have been seeing him push everybody's buttons, has crossed
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: the line plenty of times. And again, like I said,
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: there's gonna be people that argue for his sake. Oh
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: but look how much of a badass that he was
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: in season one when he you know, was shooting all
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: the lasers and doing all these cool things being a pilot.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Because again he does mention again in this season and
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: this arc specifically to Cassian, like oh yeah, I was,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: I was a rebel pilot and this is how I
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: you know, made connections to Gorman and blah blah blah blah.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: So we know that Luthan at one point probably had
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: a good head on his shoulders. But just like this
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: is the richer, wider Sagerera. Sorry, that's who Luthan is.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Dude, I totally forgot.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: We have a oh no, yeah, yeah, it's a small one,
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: but we're gonna have to talk about it last. But yeah,
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Luthan is just a wider, richer Sagrera.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Basically he And don't get me wrong, I'm not making
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: excuses for lu Than because just because you feel like
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: crap and you feel like nothing's done, doesn't you can't
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: you can treat people like crap, which is what he's doing.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: Does he need a vacation himself? Probably? He probably does
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: because the band is overworked slash overworking Cleia Clia is
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: clearly the brain behind the operation at this point. Yeah,
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: because yeah, Clia is killing it and we know from
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: the trailers that Cleia finds out what the death Star
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: really is. Uh so I'm excited to see that happen.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: So yeah, I completely agree. Luthid still scrash Guard until
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: he brought he portrayed Luthan accurately. I feel like, according
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: to the script, he doesn't do anything that I feel
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: like the script isn't telling him to do.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, no, no, no, no no. This is why we
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: tell the difference between the actor and the character. Yes,
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: people see this exists, Katie. I feel like, unfortunately we
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: have to say it because there's so many crazy, freaking
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: people out there in this world that still to this day,
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: will harass actors for portraying a fictional character. Wild Again,
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Scarsguard has done an amazing job portraying a complete asshole. Yep,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: that's all it is. But there is something that I
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: have to say boo on the costume designer of this show,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: because you give everybody a new look for almost every
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: freaking scene, and you just have the same variation three
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: fucking times for Clay's outfit. Screw you, guys. She had
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: the opportunity to get all dressed up at this party
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: and she just puts on a freaking robe on top
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: of what she already has. Like, I was a little upset,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: like and of course, like it was supposed to be
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: like this dramatic thing when she like because Lutheran was like, oh,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: the riot's here, and she like turns around and like
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: fixes her little thing and like fluffs out the shoulders
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: and everything else. It looks great. I love the way
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: she looks. But I looked at it the second time around,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: I'm like, this is the exact same thing she wears
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: every damn date. I didn't like this.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Wild because I still, especially in episode six, I looked
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: at her and was like, Wow, she really could have
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: been Leah. Like they were to have recast Leah for
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: like post Return of the Jedi stuff, I would have
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: picked this actress.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: And she gorgeous.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: She's gorgeous, and especially when she had her hair straight
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: to go meet Velle in season one, Oh my gosh,
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: did she look like Leah? Like Carrie Fisher who.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Like, she looks good? And I love this actress by
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: the way, she has done an amazing job because she
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: also her character even stands up to Luthan when she can. Yep,
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: she understands that she's in the think of it with him.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: There's some things that she probably just says, Hey, let
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: him just vent for a while, and then I'm gonna
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: stand up for myself whenever I need to. Here, she
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: takes control of the fucking situation.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: I'm done with your bullshit. I'm gonna fix this myself.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: Yeah, And so they go to the party and again
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: we see.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: This is where Maud and Pairing come in, because this
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: is really their biggest appearance in this. Mine is trying
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: to rally up votes to get the po r D disbanded,
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: the PRD being the extensive punishment bill that came up
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: and passed after cassian Velle and Syntha in the group
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: robbed the Empire of basically the paychecks, and so Man
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: is trying to get that disbanded and not passed any further,
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: and people are like, yeah, no, not happen. So the
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: biggest part where mon and parents come into play here
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: is in this party scene as kind of accessories to
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Luthen basically and like, oh, we're in laws now, so
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: you get to go see the collection. That's basically what
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: this is. Yeah, Oh my gosh, I can breathe now,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: Sorry guys.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: And so along with this, Cleia grabs supervisor Lannie and
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: she he gets all nervous and he's like, hey, like,
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: I couldn't tell. I'll have to watch it again, but
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: I couldn't tell if he had no idea who she
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: was and then she mentioned something that was like, oh shit,
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: you're with Luthan.
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Oh no, I think he knew exactly who she was.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so they go on to the collection room as well.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: They immediately go to the item where the bug is,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: and he's freaking out. He's like, do you know who's
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: in this room right now? Like we need to go.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: Kriinic was there again. Man, he knows how to put
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: on a fucking performance. By the way, Absolutely love it.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: I love it. But while they're taking this small little
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: tour around this room, she is attempting to take out this.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: So hard she starts bleeding with him.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: There's like this moment where she takes off the head
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: cap of whatever piece of the item where it was,
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: and then she tries to twist and twist and twist.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: It's not working. They have to shift along with how
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: the rest of the group is kind of moving around
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: the room so that way they don't look too inconspicuous
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: and everything else.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: Lonnie could have done a much better job flirting, Like,
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: I know the dude was scared, but really, how hard
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: is it to go Okay, I'm just flirting here? Cool? Great? Thanks?
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: Well, And the thing is, I think he He's terrified
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: of Luthen and he knows that this person is working
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: with Luthan. He also knows that he's in way too
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: deep also with the Empire there. His worlds are literally
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: clashing in this one room and he doesn't know what
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: to do. Like, I get it, I get it. I
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: totally get why he froze.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: I do, but also like, how hard is it to
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: go in the elevator to the collection room. Okay, I
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: need to take a deep break. I need a chill
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: because if I painic, I'm gonna get caught.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: And this should be our final ad break. So y'all,
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: right back.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: But there's during this whole ordeal, mon Mathma and Critic
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: are actually kind of just going at it. And it
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: is and it's very subtle because again, Mon Mathma knows,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: I have to still put up this front if I
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: say anything that can tip them off to know, like, hey,
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: I'm actually doing this for the rebellion. In secret, she
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: can't say those things, but she can be a politician.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: We know that there are always two sides of politics,
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: and that's the role she's playing here. And it was magnificent.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: I loved this back and forth because it's like like
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: the way that Mendelssohn is just groveling in this sense
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: of like, oh, I know, I'm right. Oh you call
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: it torture, I call it justice. Like this, these like
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: things here's to say, Oh, like, you're such a bad
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: human being in this galaxy. Yeah, but my god, you're
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: playing it so well. I it was just so good.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: I loved it all. I loved it. Yeah.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: And I also love like the little tadbits of history
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: that we're getting in these shots, especially with Lucan's collection, which,
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: by the way, the shop now has an additional padme headdress.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: By the way, it has the Queen's headdress in this,
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: which I like. H Again, I never see Easter eggs,
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: so I got to pointed out when I see them.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: But we got more information on like the Cotton Invaders.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: I think there was like one other that was like ooh,
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: Legends reference kind of sort of so I can't remember
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: off the top of my head, but I love the
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: little history lessons that we're getting, and it feels like
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: just little connections that we can continue to make over
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: the years between shows that are like that aren't like
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: super big, but like still make a big difference in
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: building a universe.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, for a universe. I feel like a lot
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: of people think they know we always get more, you know.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: So I like that a whole lot. But lo and behold,
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: we actually get to see Luthen and Clail walking away,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: and I love the story about the blind yeah storybook
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: and how it like tells the history and all of
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: this other stuff. I thought that was very very clever,
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: very cool. And then when they all leave, Clay says, oh,
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: you're welcome, by the way, and she just like shoves
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: the bug in his face and then all he does
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: is laugh, like he because he does make a comment
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: of like basically like oh, why why couldn't you like
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: it was either her that made the comment to him
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: or him making the comment to her basically like oh
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: you could have like oft printick right then and there,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: you know, And they both kind of laughed and walked away.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: So I that is one of the most toxic relationships
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: in this entire series. By the way, Clay and Luthen, like,
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: I am not down for it, but I do like
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: that she is able to hold her own when she
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: needs to use but yes, we do have one final
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: story arc. That story arc being of course, Saw Guerrera
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: and Wilson Wilman, Willman Wilman.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: Okay, it's either Willman or Willhemon. We just called Will.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Will Okay, uh so Will. I have no idea how
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Will got into this situation.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: So my thought process is is that his dad was
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: an engineer, and Biggs has continued to work with him
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: as an engineer. So it feels like Luthen sent Will
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: to Saw to help stuel fuel basically rightdonium in this case,
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: which we have heard of before in I believe Rebels
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: and and Or and maybe one other show and several books.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: But he basically has a riydonium refiner which will process
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: the rydonium into the fuel and make it stable. The
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: refining process is not easy, so Will has been sent
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: to deliver the refiner and train one of saul Saws
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: personnel on how to use it and not blow up, hopefully,
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: And so we basically cycle over Will training this person
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: and the person hearing Saw basically go oh yeah, like
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: he seemed too much. So once you've got it, I'm
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: gonna kill him. He's not going back like piloting accidents happen.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, which made me.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: Super mad because Saul is not about wasting resources on
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: his own side.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: I will admit I was a little satisfied with it
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: because he got our boy killed in the last arc.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: So I was like, hey, if he dies, he dies,
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: Uh wait are you talking about Like wait what.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: He got Brassos killed? He got Brosso killed.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, I'm talking.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: I'm I'm talking about Will. Sorry, like I'm saying, like Will.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: When I saw this story happen, I like there was
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: a there was a moment where I was like, Oh,
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: that kind of sucks that he's kind of stuck there
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: and he's gonna die now. But like when I really
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: started to watch the scene, I was like, I hope
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: you die. You're I Am not going to get Brosso back,
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: but at least you're dead. If that happens, You're not wrong.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: And saw is on de Car, by the way, which
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: is the sequel trilogy planet that we see in right Skylalker,
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: So I liked that connection.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: I like that connection as well.
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, because we knew Lea had picked de Car because
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: it was a former rebel base. So getting to see
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: that all the different rebel bases over This series has
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: been fun. Yeah, so Will does not end up dying. Uh,
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: the guy he was training ends up dying because he
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: was an imperial spy.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: This was wild and I love the attention to detail
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: if you're able to pick up on it. So Will
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: is training this guy and this guy's like, where'd you
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: learn this from? How did you learn to do this?
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: Will doesn't say a damn thing. He says, Okay, okay,
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: there more questions. I understand. I understand, and he's training
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: his training, he's training to do this, he's learning from Will.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: The next time we see them is when Saw is
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: questioning this dude like, hey, like, how confident do you
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: think you're able to do this? He's like, I need
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: more answers. I need more Like there's so many variables
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: going on in my brain right now because I don't
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: know what I'm supposed to be doing. I need to
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: know where we're bombing, what I'm supposed to be bombing.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Because if I just had one variable instead of all
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: of these variables, yeah, I would be able to focus
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: and do what you need me to do. Second time
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: I watched that.
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: Oh, I'm really dumb to say that because your whole
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: goal with this refiner is to be able to do
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: multiple variables.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, And because not every rede donating feel is the same,
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: which is why there's different variations. This is just dumb
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: for him to say that.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: The second time I watched it, I really was like, oh,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: I see it now, Like this is totally just weird
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: for him to be mouthed and off like this.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: It's again the same thing is with like Valencenta, like
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: I'm seeing it now that we're talking about it, but
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: in the moment, but because things were so chaotic, I
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: was like, I don't know why I saw things. This
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: guy's a spy. Like now it makes sense after like
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: talking through it, it makes a lot of sense.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Yeah, is that sad?
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: Don't answer that.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: And so when it actually comes to pass when they're
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: having this conversation and he asks Will, hey, is he
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: able to do it with you or without you? Is
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: he is he confident enough to be able to do
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: it without you? And Will says neither. I didn't sign
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: up for this. I only did what I was what
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: I was supposed to blah blah blah, and like he
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: couldn't even finish the sentence bam, blast goes off. The
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: other dude just freaking falls to the floor. Yeah, and
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: he Saw just yells out Trader. He's like, I'm gonna
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: show everybody, and he has his right hand. His right hand.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: Dude kneels down, picks out of his chest, out of
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: something in his pocket. There is a recording device. It's
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: like he was relaying all of this to the Empire
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: where actually, you know, there's gonna be a bombardment at
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: this pipeline where we were planning to go. But guess what,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: we're not going to be there. We're actually going to
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: be light years away, you know, just chilling and having fun,
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: all this other stuff. Grab everything you can. Whatever doesn't
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: go gets burned. We're tossing it all. And that's what
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: they're doing there. They're setting up these bombs. And then
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: the most wild conversation happens between Saw and Will at
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: the very end of episode five. This again reminds the
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: viewers Saw is out of his flip in mind. He
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: apparently lost.
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: And apparently in Rogue one what everybody thought was like
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: a breathing machine like Saw is basically Vader in Rogue one. No,
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: he was not Vader. He was huffing bridonium.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like in this weird way, like he has
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: become like this individual that literally cannot live without it.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: He explains it. He Yeah, he explains it to Will
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: that like, you know, this gas becomes so literally intoxicating
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: into somebody's body that it burns your insides, and that
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: like it, Like he describes it all this way and
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: that way. And while he's describing this, Will is very carefully,
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: very softly, very slowly dealing with this bomb with this
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: giant mask. And he finally gets in Will's face and
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: he's saying all these things. He's like, let's take it
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: off and so breath and he Will just takes it off,
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: and you can just see like him like gag and
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: like his shoulders start to convulse and he takes this
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: deep breath and then he like starts coughing and coughing,
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: and then he screams out. It's supposed to be this
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: like kind of awakening spiritual moment for Will. That dude
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: is dying next arc. I just know it.
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: I was really mad at Will because Will is the definition.
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: He's basically living the Hey, this person jumped off the cliff,
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: so I should too, like.
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: Yep, which is dumb.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Don't do that. There's not a way to live. And
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: for some reason, Will's like, yeah, sure, dude, like I'll
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: take this off and I'll huff the ride. Dodium, what what?
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: I don't believe what I was watching. And I really
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: need to go back and watch because a lot of people,
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: some people, not a lot of people were like, oh,
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: this speech by Saw's incredible, like this is the luthen
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: speech for a sauce. I did not process it like that. Well,
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: I need to go back and rewatch for sure, and
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: I will because I'm gonna have to rewatch with Matt.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's this moment. I will say that because again,
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: I think Saw's best moments are when he has a
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: glimmer of humanity, and a lot of those times those
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: glimmers of reality and humanity are when he mentions his sister.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: And I'm pretty sure he mentioned his sister in this scene.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: I'll have to double check, and he may have been
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: alluding to it. That's the other thing. And so like
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: there's these and and it's again I think it's also
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: Forest Whitaker, Like again, yeah, Forrest Whittaker does an amazing
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: job with this character completely evolving into him. I think
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: it's great. I'm not entirely sure. I would put this
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: on the pedestal quote unquote of what everybody was talking
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: talking about with the Luthen speech, that that pedestal for
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: me is slowly just devolving because of the character that
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Luthan is becoming in season two. But yeah, I I
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: I would probably have to watch episode five again to
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: see if I feel the same way.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: And this should be our final ad break. So y'all,
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: right back.
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: I will keep y'all posting with my second watch of
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: the episodes, because yeah, I need I need another watch. Yeah. Otherwise,
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: like from my first watch on these episode, I really
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: enjoyed the episodes. There's a little bit of chaos and
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: like I talked about like more and or because it
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: feels like there's not enough and or and then like
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: some weirdness with Solve that's basically because the character is
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: who he is. Yeah, I don't really have any other
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: critiques for the episodes. I still think it's doing an
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: incredible job. Yeah, I wish Disney hadn't screwed us by saying,
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: let's drop three episodes.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: At a night. Yeah, and surprisingly I'm able to get
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: them done in two days instead of three, But then
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: I'm wanting to rewatch it by like Saturday, and so
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: like it. It does put a damper on my weekend
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: plans before we record, and I just need to spread
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: them out because I think I watched one at like
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: ten o'clock this morning, another one at three, and then
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: the last one at like six or seven.
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: So yeah, and like, I think the difference is in
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: getting two episodes in Wednesday night. It is we don't
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: have to wait until nine pm. Because these episodes came
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: out at seven. I would have no problem getting three
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: episodes in yeah, but because it's nine o'clock.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: And go to bed, Yeah, for sure.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: I think that's the biggest difference in getting it done
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: in two days. And typically I'm good with it in
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: two days. I just traveled and had to plan a
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: birthday party this week.
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and guys, we we both have little kids. Like
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: it's it's rough, but I think that is it for
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: this episode. Uh, at least that's what I think that.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: Did we miss anything as far as story arcs anything?
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: I believe, So yeah, I think we're doing good. But
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: with that, guys, thank you so much for being here.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: Of course, you can always uh follow me at fanboy
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: play on Twitter, sorry not Twitter, on Blue Sky, Threads
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: and Instagram. If you want to follow me in my
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: adventures with work and comics, you can follow me a
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: Blue Sky in my endeavors with reading as much as
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: possible this year. Apparently you can follow me on Instagram
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: and on threads.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: I know I liked your April graphic.
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: Yeah that was on Fable. They do like a round
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: up for every for every month.
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: And so I mean to use it more than because
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: I've seen people post them and I'm like, I don't
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: want to get on Canva for that. That's a lot
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: of effort.
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: It does it for you. That's the best part because
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: for me, I was doing the same thing and I
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: was like, how do I want to do this to
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: like make it really nice and everything else, And then
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: when like it was generating it for me, I was like, oh, okay,
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: I can do this. This is easy. So yeah, we
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: are three days into May and I am already reading
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: four books. I don't know who I am anymore. Katie.
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: It's it's absolutely insane. Have you. I did finish, Leah.
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: I am currently reading the prequel of the Wheel of Time.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: I am also reading because I got it early. Uh,
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: the Valiant Value jealous Uh for our next review that
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: should be coming up of course, like we said at
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: the beginning of this review orself.
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: Next review, because we have Tales of the Underworld now.
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: Tails of the Underworld as well. Then I am also reading.
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: Uh uh.
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: Shoot what was it? Uh? Oh, just because it became
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: available on Libby, I am going to duel read. I
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: am going to listen and read read Rising finally. Nice,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: It's on my list. And now I have somebody at
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: work saying, hey, I saw that you were reading Way
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: of the Kings. I just finished it, and I was like, hey,
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: hold your horses, I'm not done with that yet. Don't
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: say anything. So now I'm even more pressured to finish
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: that book faster than I need to. So yeah, those
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: are the four books that I am currently reading.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Reading. I think I have like seventeen days left until
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: I get Way of the Kings from my library because
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: I had to sit my copy back to the library.
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: So yeah, as soon as I get Away of the Kings.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: Because we have like a lull for a little bit.
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: So as soon as I get that book, I'm gonna
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: knock it out.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Then I might just speed read and see what I
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: can get done. It is apparently not for the fainto
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: heart guys. The Cosmir Universe or whatever you want to
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: call it. For Brandon Sanderson, it's like close to twelve
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: books or something.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: All thousand pages each.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they're insane. I think what I'm gonna do instead
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: of going immediately into book two. Apparently there's quite a
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: few novellas and standalones okay that are in the universe
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: that I will probably pick up before I jump into
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: book two, because I can't jump into another thousand plus
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: page book and be like, hey, let's just do this.
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: And plus I already promised Katie that after reading Way
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: the Kings, I would be jumping into Fourth Way. So
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: that's the next book Afterway of the Kings. But yeah,
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: that's what my book journey is looking like. If you'd
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: like to follow me on that, like I said, follow
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: me on Instagram, on threads, and on TikTok Katie, what about.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: You, y'all? You can find me on most social media platforms.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: Is at slice of Katie. The show you can find
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: on email. It is Star Wars Alliance at gmail dot
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: com with no a in the Wars very important to
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: forget it. That username is where you can find us
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: on Instagram as well. I did it. It looks like
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: I got back into the account today. Don't ask me
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: why I did it today again, brain chaos. Anyways, so
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: we kind of have some plans for things to post
