- 0:08Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 0:21Speaker 3: All right.
- 0:22Speaker 2: What's going on, everybody? I'm the one, the only, the W-O-O-K-I-E,
- 0:26Speaker 2: joined here by the normal cast of misfits. We have
- 0:28Speaker 2: the Ph.D. of Key Forge, Dr. M.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Sheet. Hello.
- 0:32Speaker 2: The Minnesota Deuce, Ewok Jr.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Hello, Key Forge community. Glad to be here.
- 0:38Speaker 2: And the Drazcore of the Drazcore, the Chokeshow himself, Drazcore. Hey, guys.
- 0:45Speaker 3: How's it going?
- 0:46Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:46Speaker 2: We decided to go Ouroboros technically should be the next one,
- 0:50Speaker 2: or Oberos should be the next one in order. However,
- 0:53Speaker 2: that's got a lot of cards, and we decided that
- 0:56Speaker 2: we'll come back to that. It's way too hard.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 2: That's more than we want to do on a Monday evening.
- 1:03Speaker 2: So we're going to Shadows, everyone's favorite. I remember it
- 1:06Speaker 2: was when Shadows was good. You guys remember?
- 1:08Speaker 5: Oh, you've always been a Shadows fanboy.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Shadows, it's not as good as it once was, but
- 1:15Speaker 2: it's still pretty good. Shadows is like a Toby Keith song.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It's not as good as it once was, but it's
- 1:20Speaker 2: good once as it ever was. I'll let all that
- 1:25Speaker 2: sink in for all the country fans that we don't have.
- 1:28Speaker 3: But anyways, I don't know who that is, but I'm
- 1:31Speaker 3: going to pretend like I do. He died last year,
- 1:34Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:35Speaker 2: You don't know. Well, you know. That's unfortunate. Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 3: But just, I guess, a reminder for everybody hanging out
- 1:44Speaker 3: at home. So as we are getting into this, you
- 1:47Speaker 3: can go to drazscore.com. D-R-A-Z-S-C-O-R-E, drazscore.com. You can follow along.
- 1:55Speaker 3: You can rate the cards. When we say something stupid
- 1:59Speaker 3: about how good or bad a card is, you can
- 2:01Speaker 3: be like, no, you're wrong. And you can rate it
- 2:03Speaker 3: with my score, rate it differently, and score it differently
- 2:06Speaker 3: for yourself. There's also a few new features that I
- 2:13Speaker 3: added to the site you could check out. Cool new
- 2:14Speaker 3: visualization that makes it easier to see cards on your
- 2:18Speaker 3: mobile device or on your desktop, but more for your
- 2:21Speaker 3: mobile device. uh, the golden spiral.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And I added a new top cut badge, if you will.
- 2:28Speaker 3: So you can see the decks that have top cuts. Um, yeah,
- 2:32Speaker 3: tell me, I'm sure I missed a few, but I
- 2:34Speaker 3: tried to get, I tried to get all the ones
- 2:36Speaker 3: in the GG era as well as the winners from
- 2:40Speaker 3: the FFG era. So I might have managed that.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We'll see. We'll see.
- 2:45Speaker 4: All right.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Well, let's, uh, let's get underway and we can start
- 2:49Speaker 2: out with a dud. The, uh, achromatic basilisk achromatic basilisk
- 2:56Speaker 2: right yeah two powers beast skirmish after the fight you
- 3:00Speaker 2: can exhaust an enemy creature.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Oh yeah two power oh two powers skirmish sir put
- 3:11Speaker 6: some respect on his name okay why.
- 3:15Speaker 4: This is like umbra but it sucks a lot and
- 3:18Speaker 4: umbra was suck.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: No, Umbra, like, Umbra at least stole. Yeah, Umbra at
- 3:26Speaker 2: least stole one. This doesn't even have, didn't Umbra at
- 3:30Speaker 2: least have elusive? You know what?
- 3:33Speaker 4: Life for a life is in the set. There's your target. Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yeah, like, in mythology, isn't a basilisk supposed to be, like,
- 3:43Speaker 3: a big, scary creature?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Like, that's only true power. Yeah, this puny snake.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Did they make it a lame-ass snake in Harry Potter, too? What,
- 3:55Speaker 4: a big lame-ass snake?
- 3:56Speaker 2: Well, Basilisk is always a snake. Yes, it was a
- 3:58Speaker 2: snake in Harry Potter. It was quite large. Yeah, it's unfortunate.
- 4:08Speaker 3: You know, I'm Googling Basilisk and the Jesus lizard. Real-life
- 4:13Speaker 3: zoology is coming up here. Ewok, do you know about that?
- 4:21Speaker 5: It's just one of the names that's been given to it.
- 4:23Speaker 2: OK, OK.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Incredibility sprint across surface of rivers and streams.
- 4:30Speaker 5: So what I was what I was looking for was
- 4:33Speaker 5: this individual card reminded me more of from Coda that
- 4:39Speaker 5: Mesa's ass. So three power skirmish poison.
- 4:41Speaker 2: That had poison.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it wanted to poke.
- 4:46Speaker 5: Yes but you really didn't need to fight there so
- 4:50Speaker 5: it had both have skirmish this is a little bit
- 4:52Speaker 5: weaker but this is an exhaust an enemy creature i
- 4:56Speaker 5: don't think it's nearly.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Fight reap maybe maybe this would be a card that
- 5:02Speaker 4: you just were like didn't care about having tolerated but
- 5:07Speaker 4: with it being only a fight effect this is a
- 5:10Speaker 4: piece of.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Crap but we've talked about it too much.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yep. Yep.
- 5:14Speaker 2: So time to score it. Let's go around the horn sheep.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Is it the zero?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Let's go zero. Uh, zero and dress car. Well, I
- 5:25Speaker 2: had it at a one, but it is.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And you can be wrong. I had it as zero
- 5:29Speaker 2: as well. Oh, moving on to blank check.
- 5:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Is it, is it really a zero? Probably not, but
- 5:38Speaker 4: that's how little we want it in our decks.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Yeah, it is a common slot card, too.
- 5:43Speaker 2: This is not as bad as... What's his name from PV?
- 5:50Speaker 2: Burnish Nichols?
- 5:50Speaker 3: Burnish Nichols. It is not as bad as Burnish Nichols.
- 5:54Speaker 3: You have to discard it.
- 5:56Speaker 4: You could discard it.
- 5:58Speaker 2: You have to discard this, too, because if there's a
- 6:00Speaker 2: Trunks Creed... No, this is little.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Well, I guess depending on what else is on the board.
- 6:10Speaker 3: So other zero creatures are the ships because they give
- 6:14Speaker 3: your opponent ember.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah. The multiples like angry mob.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Has to assist Raptor.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 3: The British nickels where we talked about apparently Brobnar plant
- 6:26Speaker 3: is a zero because you don't want worlds collide.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Brobnar.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Makes sense.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 2: The Pokemon.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It's it's it's.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Truly awful cards.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Alina the Charming. Yeah, it's like stuff you have to discard. Or, well, actually,
- 6:41Speaker 3: I don't know if it's Z-rated this way, but I
- 6:43Speaker 3: put Gold Key Imp as a zero because I despise
- 6:46Speaker 3: that card.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Well, that's personal hatred. All right, fine. You can leave
- 6:50Speaker 2: this as a one. You can leave it at a one.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But we all hate this card. Gromit is a zero, right? Like,
- 6:55Speaker 3: these are the zero creatures.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Yeah, this guy isn't actually that bad. He's just disappointing.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah. He gets a one and he gets.
- 7:05Speaker 4: A zero for in my score.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Blank check. PIP of Ember. Every time you
- 7:13Speaker 2: play it, it's an action. Each player shuffles their archives
- 7:17Speaker 2: and discard pile into their deck. Discard the top five
- 7:21Speaker 2: cards of your opponent. Discard the top five cards of
- 7:24Speaker 2: your opponent's deck. Play the top card of their deck
- 7:28Speaker 2: as if it were yours. Yep.
- 7:33Speaker 4: I don't understand the discard five cards part of it.
- 7:38Speaker 2: And then play one. Yeah, it's like.
- 7:41Speaker 3: It almost reads like an Echidna card, how ridiculous it is.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I feel like there's a lot of unnecessary steps in
- 7:48Speaker 2: between to get to the end.
- 7:49Speaker 4: But it is good, because it's Archive Disruption and plays
- 7:52Speaker 4: a card, so this card is.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I've opened it a few times, and it's amazingly strong.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Can you get multi-check decks?
- 7:59Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It is uncommon.
- 8:02Speaker 5: It's uncommon.
- 8:05Speaker 3: My very first deck at KFC was a double-blank check deck,
- 8:09Speaker 3: and it was good.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I do love me some Merkin's abilities.
- 8:19Speaker 4: It's Merkin's-y. I agree. I like this card.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 5: There are actually decks with three of them in it, boys.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Ten of them.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Oh.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 5: No, this is very, very, very good. It's a six.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I don't know that it's Chase, but I think it's
- 8:43Speaker 2: a five. What is Merkins? Merkins? Probably a four. Yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 2: Merkins is a four.
- 8:50Speaker 4: This is a slightly... Weak your Perkins in that you
- 8:54Speaker 4: can't play out of their archives, but also stronger because
- 8:58Speaker 4: it does just disrupt their whole archives.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Also, you have the Amber Pip, but it also depends.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Do I have archives? Because there are going to be
- 9:07Speaker 2: times where, nope, I don't want to play this.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Then take your archives.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Well, that's not really a thing in this set where
- 9:15Speaker 4: you're building massive archives.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Not a ton of archives.
- 9:18Speaker 4: We don't have logos. We ain't doing a lot of archiving.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Yeah. I like this. I like the archive disruption. The
- 9:27Speaker 5: discard five cards is really kind of just more disruption.
- 9:34Speaker 5: So you have archive hate, you have disruption, and then
- 9:37Speaker 5: you have the merkins.
- 9:38Speaker 4: But you shuffle it all back in and then just
- 9:40Speaker 4: give five new ones, which is like to me, it's
- 9:42Speaker 4: like kind of like, well, if you're just trying to
- 9:44Speaker 4: play towards haunted or wants discards here, have some right away.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I don't.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't.
- 9:49Speaker 2: It will take a haunted player who wants to be
- 9:51Speaker 2: haunted off of being haunted.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Yeah, but you're very close to it at five again.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Right, but if you're already haunted you can make them
- 9:59Speaker 2: have to restart or halfway yeah the start is weird.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Against gr the shuffle alone can yes be very impactful
- 10:12Speaker 4: but is it really enough to make it a whole
- 10:15Speaker 4: point more than merkin's I think it's four.
- 10:19Speaker 5: This is a strong five. I'm not at a six, Chase,
- 10:22Speaker 5: but it's a five for me.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I did give it a four. Not quite a five.
- 10:28Speaker 4: I don't know if it's actually that much stronger than Merkin's.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I would be fine with a four.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Well, it seems like we're tied up. Two fives, two fours.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm going to break the tie. It's a five. All right,
- 10:42Speaker 2: Barry and DeadSync, put it in. Is it a five
- 10:44Speaker 2: or a four? Let us know. We'll come back to
- 10:47Speaker 2: it after we talked about Blatant Thievery. That's the... Pip
- 10:53Speaker 2: of Ember. Every time you play it.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Why are you talking about this? This card exists.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Right. We gotta tell them what it does. You can
- 11:02Speaker 2: enrage an enemy creature and then move all the ember
- 11:05Speaker 2: from that creature to your pool. That was a DC card.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why I'm... Come on, Wookie.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry. My bad. It was.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Um.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I'm not paying attention. Caught you napping. We did. It's
- 11:23Speaker 2: been a long day. Pippa, remember every time you play it, action, play.
- 11:28Speaker 2: If you are overwhelmed, exhaust an enemy creature. Steal one
- 11:32Speaker 2: for each exhausted enemy creature.
- 11:37Speaker 3: This one is hard to rate because intraset.
- 11:45Speaker 3: It's pretty good because your opponent will sometimes have stuff
- 11:50Speaker 3: they want to exhaust. And there's lots of ways to exhaust. Um,
- 11:59Speaker 3: but I mean, just kind of vanilla, it might not
- 12:06Speaker 3: exhaust enemy creature. So you might not steal anything. Um,
- 12:13Speaker 3: but there are moments where you can steal a lot.
- 12:15Speaker 4: So what, I think this card's pretty strong. I like it.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I think it's a good indicator on if you're going
- 12:22Speaker 4: to have functional shadows, because this plus the other common
- 12:26Speaker 4: exalting card make for money. I generally like this card,
- 12:31Speaker 4: so I.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I think it's a good indicator that it's worth looking at.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you want the house, right? Yeah, yeah, because you.
- 12:42Speaker 3: If you're like, what do I want in my shadows?
- 12:44Speaker 3: This is the card you want. So it probably.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 4: And the fact that it has the amber pip on it.
- 12:49Speaker 4: So it's like amber.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I want hoodwinked.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Exhausted creature gain an amber.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Well, but you said if I wanted a shadows.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Card, you only exhaust if you're overwhelmed.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Yes, I understand.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Which in most other sets, you're probably going to be
- 13:06Speaker 2: overwhelmed because you're not actually playing creatures.
- 13:11Speaker 3: No. Now, there is another common.
- 13:13Speaker 5: It's the opposite.
- 13:14Speaker 2: If you're overwhelmed. Exhaust stuff. Right. Yes.
- 13:18Speaker 5: So, Drez, you're right. In set, I think it scores
- 13:22Speaker 5: differently than out of set. But if you're playing DM,
- 13:26Speaker 5: typically you have the board over some other sets. It
- 13:30Speaker 5: does depend.
- 13:30Speaker 4: That's a sealed thing. I don't know if that's going
- 13:32Speaker 4: to be true in Archon. Hmm.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Because sometimes it does nothing.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Because you, like, even as we're scoring it, so much
- 13:40Speaker 4: of the way you actually win, you need to be behind.
- 13:43Speaker 4: So you're going to be needing decks. You're going to
- 13:45Speaker 4: be board clearing, letting them set some creatures, then coming
- 13:49Speaker 4: back and using your Overwhelm stuff, re-board clearing. Like, that's
- 13:55Speaker 4: how I think the best DM's going to end up playing. Anyways, I.
- 14:05Speaker 4: This card has strong potential in this set, so I
- 14:09Speaker 4: was at a four.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to go bump to a four.
- 14:13Speaker 5: So I originally had a four bump down. I like
- 14:17Speaker 5: the amber, but if you are not overwhelmed, you do
- 14:20Speaker 5: not get to exhaust, and therefore you're not getting a steal.
- 14:24Speaker 5: So it is just an amber pip. And that's what's
- 14:27Speaker 5: kind of messing with me. So yes, I think you
- 14:29Speaker 5: have control over timing that you... If it's close, you
- 14:34Speaker 5: could potentially fight if you have shadows. I don't know.
- 14:39Speaker 5: I like the card. I hear what you guys are saying.
- 14:41Speaker 5: It's one of the better commons. I can be talked
- 14:44Speaker 5: into that four.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I put it at a three simply because I don't
- 14:48Speaker 2: know how much I ever, but three is, I think,
- 14:50Speaker 2: just mediocre for the Ember Pip that I'm guessing I'm
- 14:53Speaker 2: probably going to get. And then sometimes maybe I get
- 14:57Speaker 2: some Ember Steel.
- 15:00Speaker 5: I think that you're going to see that Steel more often.
- 15:03Speaker 5: than not, but I can't guarantee it.
- 15:08Speaker 4: You really want this thing fish-pipped, right? Get it over
- 15:11Speaker 4: in a fish house.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Well, there is a common card that exhausts.
- 15:16Speaker 4: They got one, too.
- 15:19Speaker 2: A big full exhaust. Okay, so this is another one
- 15:22Speaker 2: where we're split. Chat said five. I'll go to the
- 15:25Speaker 2: floor because I had.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Chat was talking earlier about.
- 15:34Speaker 2: For blank check. Yeah. Yep.
- 15:38Speaker 5: I had four early, and I just had gone ahead
- 15:41Speaker 5: and changed it back because of the actual wording that
- 15:44Speaker 5: you may not get a steal at all, but I'm
- 15:46Speaker 5: fine with the four. It's definitely a card that's better
- 15:49Speaker 5: than some of the other threes that I want. If
- 15:52Speaker 5: nothing else, it is a three plus plus plus, so.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 15:57Speaker 3: To have functional shadows, you want this in your common slot, so...
- 16:01Speaker 3: I think that bumps it up.
- 16:03Speaker 2: All right. Cheval de Frise. Enhanced with two Shadows House Pips.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Each friendly Shadows creature gains Hazardous 2. So that part
- 16:23Speaker 2: doesn't matter, but the two Shadows Pips are pretty good.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that's about what you're paying for with this card.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I had it the other day. I played it and
- 16:32Speaker 4: it never mattered, right? Because my shadow creatures never mattered.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Although there is crappy urchin. Um, yeah, that's coming up.
- 16:39Speaker 4: So him, him surviving. He won't promise me every time.
- 16:45Speaker 4: If you play that card at St. Louis, you literally
- 16:48Speaker 4: call him crappy urchin.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I should have.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Oh man. I had three of them at, at fricking
- 16:54Speaker 3: Portland because for some reason that was my best shadows pod.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Um, I never once. Well, we'll get to the cart.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I don't know about it. Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 2: No bueno. But I gave it a three because I
- 17:09Speaker 2: two shadows. Double house pips. Double house pip. It's a four. Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 2: It's hard to be.
- 17:15Speaker 5: Yeah, it's in the.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Is the artifact worth eating for the double house pips?
- 17:19Speaker 2: I guess.
- 17:20Speaker 4: I mean, you play it.
- 17:21Speaker 2: It takes it out of.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Yeah, it doesn't do anything.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Cycle.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 5: I hear what you're saying, though, Wookiee. Like, you just
- 17:27Speaker 5: don't care about the card outside of the double house pips.
- 17:31Speaker 2: But.
- 17:33Speaker 4: I know.
- 17:33Speaker 2: It's got double house pips. It's got to be an
- 17:35Speaker 2: automatic seven.
- 17:37Speaker 4: They didn't, like, botch it and make all shadow creatures
- 17:39Speaker 4: gain elusive. Or a hazardous, I mean.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, this is true. It's not botched, that's for sure.
- 17:47Speaker 2: All right, Sheep, what'd you give it? Yeah, a four.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Four?
- 17:50Speaker 2: That's a four.
- 17:53Speaker 5: That's four.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Alright, well, it'll stay a four. Alright, Claymore! One power
- 17:58Speaker 2: elf soldier. Enhanced with two damage pips, so you know
- 18:02Speaker 2: this is automatically a four. Destroy and deal two damage
- 18:07Speaker 2: to each enemy flank creature. I thought flank was the
- 18:12Speaker 2: pirates thing. Yeah, I don't know.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Is this, by the way, is this the first all-caps
- 18:20Speaker 3: flavor text game? front towards enemy.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Probably probably not actually to be honest with you i'm
- 18:30Speaker 2: sure there's another one no um this is not so great.
- 18:36Speaker 4: This is i mean like it's just depressing that like
- 18:39Speaker 4: this ability was just on creatures that had play effects
- 18:43Speaker 4: so you could like redo it and stuff and this
- 18:46Speaker 4: guy's crummy.
- 18:48Speaker 5: Um This is your common slot, too.
- 18:51Speaker 4: So back with like four of them and two of
- 18:54Speaker 4: them were self-suiciding. Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So then they're just.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Like a bad action card that does two damage to
- 19:02Speaker 4: each flank creature.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yeah, flank and doesn't give you any ember. Yeah, well.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Now, I don't actually think it's I mean, I don't know.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I was angry at it when I was scoring. I
- 19:15Speaker 3: put it at a one when I first scored shadows.
- 19:19Speaker 3: There are seven community users who seem to agree with you.
- 19:22Speaker 3: There are seven community.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I put them at a one. I'm one. I guess
- 19:27Speaker 2: I'm one of those seven community users. So we put
- 19:30Speaker 2: it at three. That's possible. You know. You know, they
- 19:35Speaker 2: also like the rats from AOA. Well, they were fun,
- 19:37Speaker 2: but not good.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:40Speaker 2: AOA. They were fun, but not good. Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Ewok, how much do you hate Nod and Claymore?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Give him a two because he was our preview card.
- 19:59Speaker 5: I don't want to see it as a common slot,
- 20:02Speaker 5: but it's two for me.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Where are you at, Wookiee? I give it a one.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I give it a one. Okay.
- 20:12Speaker 3: So two ones, two twos. What does the chat say?
- 20:19Speaker 3: Densink says two.
- 20:21Speaker 2: No, he says a one. He said two damage. He
- 20:25Speaker 2: says a one. All right, we're going with Densink. One
- 20:27Speaker 2: for me, Don. Colt Slaven. Two power elf thief. Enhanced
- 20:36Speaker 2: with one damage and two plus one power counters. Play
- 20:40Speaker 2: for each plus one power counter on each creature. Deal
- 20:43Speaker 2: one damage to a creature.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Now, in Sealed, this one, like DM on DM Sealed,
- 20:53Speaker 3: this guy can actually be decently good.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I do not think he's good in Archon.
- 20:59Speaker 5: No.
- 21:01Speaker 2: You are not trying to play the power counter game.
- 21:04Speaker 1: No.
- 21:05Speaker 2: No, he's much like the card we just talked about. Yeah,
- 21:09Speaker 2: he's also a 1.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Yeah, better in sealed than he is in.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yep.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Yep.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Everybody cool with a 1?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yep.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Sure.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Sweet. Counterfeit controversy. Pip of Ember, every time you play it,
- 21:26Speaker 2: play if your opponent has more Ember than you. They
- 21:29Speaker 2: lose half their Ember, rounding down the loss. well at
- 21:34Speaker 2: least decent card right so um it's.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Like yeah this is they went oh wait we made
- 21:42Speaker 4: uh cover fire a little too strong yep so we're
- 21:48Speaker 4: stepping back cover fire is a.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Six cover fire is a six yeah uh now this
- 21:54Speaker 3: is very similar to um ep uh not right not
- 22:01Speaker 3: riot um what's the other what's the broadmark card Eight
- 22:05Speaker 3: or more.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Lose half your ember. Talk about monument. Whoa.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Oh, no, no, no, no. Oh, no.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I know what you're saying. Rant and Rive, yes.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Rant and Rive. So Rant and Rive's a five. Wasn't
- 22:24Speaker 3: Rant and Rive still? Was Rant and Rive just loose?
- 22:27Speaker 1: No.
- 22:28Speaker 2: No, it's loose. It was a loose. It was five.
- 22:30Speaker 4: I don't think Rant Rive's actually a five. I think
- 22:32Speaker 4: that's a four.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I agree with you. Well, I think this is a five. Well, actually,
- 22:37Speaker 2: Rant Rive, you don't have to be ahead or behind.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It's just as if they have eight or more. This one,
- 22:42Speaker 2: they have to have more than you. That's true. So
- 22:45Speaker 2: there are going to be times where you cannot play
- 22:47Speaker 2: this card because you are ahead. But you also have
- 22:51Speaker 2: to control it. Well, you can play it. It just
- 22:54Speaker 2: doesn't do anything.
- 22:56Speaker 5: It'll gain you the amber you also have to be
- 22:59Speaker 5: down by more than one oh yeah I was.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Going to say you have to be down by more
- 23:03Speaker 2: than one otherwise this doesn't do anything.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Either because the tie or being above you automatically just
- 23:10Speaker 5: don't get to.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Five but again no change it's semi scaling I gave
- 23:16Speaker 4: it a four it's a strong card I think the
- 23:19Speaker 4: five is good.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I think five not chase but real good All right.
- 23:26Speaker 5: That's an uncommon.
- 23:29Speaker 2: PIP of Ember every time you play it. Enhanced with
- 23:32Speaker 2: three capture pips. Move all Ember from one creature to
- 23:38Speaker 2: another creature.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Uncommon slot.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, there you go.
- 23:50Speaker 4: The better switcheroo.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I mean, it doesn't auto-capture, right? Old Switcheroo captures before
- 23:58Speaker 3: it gets your point.
- 23:59Speaker 5: And they have to.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Have a creature for it to really work, right? There
- 24:02Speaker 4: are plenty of reasons it's not.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So I think, yeah, there's one more enhancement than Old Switcheroo,
- 24:07Speaker 3: but they're very similar, right?
- 24:09Speaker 4: It's also in a house that this is the only capture, right?
- 24:18Speaker 4: It's not like we have... What's that dude? The, um.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Old Bruno. Yeah, if old Bruno wasn't there, this card
- 24:27Speaker 4: would be so much better.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I do think old Switcheroo is better in this set.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:37Speaker 4: It is a good card, so you're still okay to
- 24:40Speaker 4: see it.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Four?
- 24:42Speaker 4: It's better than average, so yeah, the four is.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I think four. I do still wonder if old
- 24:50Speaker 3: Switcheroo should actually be a five.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. Because we gave it a four, I'm
- 24:56Speaker 2: pretty sure.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I think we were split. I think me and Chip
- 25:01Speaker 4: gave it fives. We'll have to go back and listen
- 25:04Speaker 4: to the tapes. This won't happen.
- 25:07Speaker 2: It's out now on Patreon. I don't know.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Should we bump up Old Switcheroo? It's been real good.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I think Old Switcheroo is real, real good.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to do that.
- 25:22Speaker 4: It's in a house with other captures. And Ditch the
- 25:24Speaker 4: Loot is a four.
- 25:25Speaker 3: It is.
- 25:25Speaker 2: It is.
- 25:27Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I'm bumping Old Switcheroo. All right. Maybe one or two
- 25:31Speaker 2: DM decks just got better. We'll put Ditch the Loot
- 25:35Speaker 2: at four?
- 25:37Speaker 5: Yep.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I think that's right. Has anybody got a problem with this?
- 25:41Speaker 3: Nope.
- 25:42Speaker 2: All right. Let's talk about another Archon All-Star. Grammy Taps.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Two Power Elf Thief, Elusive, and Trench. While Grammy Taps
- 25:53Speaker 2: is exhausted, each of its neighbors gain Elusive. Six. Negative six.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Can I just go to zero? Tapping Grammy Taps is
- 26:06Speaker 3: a mistake, right?
- 26:07Speaker 2: Like, it's a trap, right?
- 26:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Because there are fight effects in set. Oh, yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Like, Elusive is... Elusive without a good ability is.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Typically a penalty.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Nope.
- 26:26Speaker 4: It just allows your opponent to get stuff. It is
- 26:29Speaker 4: a two power pointless reaper.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody's going to bother killing it.
- 26:36Speaker 4: I have seen it discarded because of the elusiveness. Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Oh, great. I mean, great. Great tips. Yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 3: The average community score is a 0.6.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Sounds about right.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Bad boy.
- 26:52Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, zero's fine. I hate this card.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I had it at a one.
- 27:00Speaker 4: But this is just an indicator that it's a bad shadow.
- 27:03Speaker 4: It's a zero. You just do not.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you never want this.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I would rather have.
- 27:09Speaker 4: There's not even other shadows creatures you want outside of like. No,
- 27:15Speaker 4: there are not other shadows creatures you want.
- 27:17Speaker 2: So this is defending all rare stuff. Pinch your Malloy.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Sure, yeah. Victor Flux.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I'll take a picture. We'll get to Victor.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Louie.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Keep the chain. Oh, sorry. Zero ones, anybody?
- 27:38Speaker 4: Yeah, we just increased one card score, right? We gotta
- 27:44Speaker 4: take it away somewhere. Yeah, we gotta take it away.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Now more decks are going down.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Are we nuking Grammy Taps? Are we taking her as Zero?
- 27:53Speaker 3: Because she's just that awful.
- 27:55Speaker 2: She is that bad. All right. Zero. Grammy. Get out
- 28:01Speaker 2: of here. Keep the change. Every time you play it.
- 28:04Speaker 5: What?
- 28:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. That card just makes you angry
- 28:07Speaker 4: because it's a fact. You have to stay exhausted to
- 28:10Speaker 4: do what? And equally, was the LaMidra a Zero?
- 28:16Speaker 3: No.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I feel like LaMidra was a one, but should have
- 28:21Speaker 2: been a zero.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Yeah, right. Exactly.
- 28:23Speaker 2: All right. Keep the change. Pip of Ember. Every time
- 28:29Speaker 2: you play it, pay your opponent six for each Ember
- 28:36Speaker 2: paid this way. Draw a card. Skip a card?
- 28:42Speaker 5: Yeah, he skips honorable.
- 28:45Speaker 2: We'll go back to it.
- 28:47Speaker 5: It's fault in VM, so you might have gotten confused.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Keep the change.
- 28:53Speaker 3: So this is a combo piece, right? Or desperation, right?
- 29:00Speaker 3: You want keep the change with too much to protect.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Without TMTP, you don't want this card that badly.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Oh, I mean, there are points where they have no
- 29:13Speaker 4: amber for you to steal or the the one good
- 29:17Speaker 4: shadows play steal guy. You they have to have more
- 29:21Speaker 4: than you. So this makes that happen. So that's, you know,
- 29:28Speaker 4: it's it's not the worst to shoot for.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:34Speaker 4: But often enough, you're playing it just for the amber.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Right. It doesn't require you to do anything. So I
- 29:43Speaker 2: don't know.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I gave it a three. Maybe that was optimistic. I guess,
- 29:47Speaker 3: you know, you want MTP. So you want this, even
- 29:52Speaker 3: though it can't be better than a three.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I don't think. Hmm.
- 29:58Speaker 5: Well, because it says pay up to with a choice
- 30:02Speaker 5: of zero, you're fine. Like, it's an Amber Pay.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Yep. Yep. Okay, fair enough. I'll put it at three then.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I didn't see the up to. I thought it just
- 30:16Speaker 2: said pay your opponent six Amber. And I'm like, when
- 30:21Speaker 2: you're like, I gave it a three, and I'm like, Drescore,
- 30:24Speaker 2: no wonder you suck. Yeah, okay, I'll give it a three,
- 30:31Speaker 2: because you don't have to give them anything, and you
- 30:35Speaker 2: just get a pip of ember. To me, that's worth
- 30:36Speaker 2: a three. All right, sorry, I did skip Honorable Abagnale.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Two-power elf politician. Elusive, you may spend up to three
- 30:50Speaker 2: ember from your opponent's pool when forging keys.
- 30:55Speaker 4: This guy can be gotten multiples.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Yeah, he's rare, but yeah. It works really good with
- 31:05Speaker 3: key cheats.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I mean, even without key cheats, like you have to
- 31:09Speaker 3: deal with this guy, right? Your opponent gets three ember,
- 31:13Speaker 3: passes turn to you. You probably have three ember. They're
- 31:17Speaker 3: on check.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. No, this guy is a must deal. Yes.
- 31:22Speaker 5: There are five decks with two copies.
- 31:28Speaker 2: The rest are all nightmare urchins. Any of them any good?
- 31:31Speaker 1: No.
- 31:32Speaker 2: No, no, no. Hard to tell. I don't know. One
- 31:41Speaker 2: of them has 38 stand hers.
- 31:44Speaker 3: So yeah 38 expected ember so let me let me
- 31:47Speaker 3: let me dress score it hold on all right anyways
- 31:51Speaker 3: let's go with the abagnale i think this is which status.
- 31:57Speaker 2: This is 105 five no sorry six it could be
- 32:04Speaker 2: it could be i was debating.
- 32:07Speaker 3: I mean it's you do want this You do. Like,
- 32:12Speaker 3: there's no situation in which you don't want this, right?
- 32:15Speaker 3: I just don't know how to.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I guess the only thing he does is he is
- 32:20Speaker 2: making your opponent deal with it, right? Like, so I
- 32:25Speaker 2: might be putting them into a house they don't want
- 32:27Speaker 2: to go into because I have this on the board now.
- 32:30Speaker 4: There is worlds where you don't play them because they
- 32:32Speaker 4: already have the board with good fight effects and you're like.
- 32:37Speaker 2: But even with some good fight effects, I mean, with
- 32:40Speaker 2: the elusive.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Yeah, elusive.
- 32:43Speaker 2: What are some other? Like, you gotta kill it. Creatures.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Let's say.
- 32:51Speaker 4: Lucky's favorite card.
- 32:53Speaker 2: The Ember Drake's. Bryo. Bryo. Bryo. Chota. Yeah. All the sixes.
- 33:01Speaker 5: Wow.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Chronophage is really good. It just was a set that
- 33:04Speaker 2: was never able to take advantage of it.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Drummer not interesting um eddie um yeah as.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Pete's pointing out you could also have in house your
- 33:18Speaker 4: exhaust cards that we haven't hit and they may not
- 33:20Speaker 4: be able to deal with this because yeah or they
- 33:23Speaker 4: have to deal with it from hand i don't know
- 33:25Speaker 4: i love this i mean.
- 33:27Speaker 2: It is only a two power it dies to uh
- 33:30Speaker 2: you know anything How about you have to potentially choose
- 33:36Speaker 2: a house just to kill it? But I could pump
- 33:39Speaker 2: it up with some power counters.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Yeah, you could be doing that.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Rocketeel is a six. Spectral Ruth. Subject Kirby.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Talent Scout. So it's in this ilk. I think so.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Witch Queen. Okay.
- 34:00Speaker 5: All right.
- 34:01Speaker 2: I'm on board. Let's do it, guys. All right.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Let's do it.
- 34:05Speaker 2: You want to do something crazy, Draskor? Yeah, let's do it, guys.
- 34:10Speaker 2: It's wild.
- 34:12Speaker 5: I'm still going with a five, but sure.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Luis Campari. All right, okay.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Yep.
- 34:22Speaker 2: I went with a five as well. Talk about a card. But, like,
- 34:24Speaker 2: I understand the six thought. Like, it's not crazy. I
- 34:30Speaker 2: don't think it's crazy. Can there just be a five plus?
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yep.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Louis Campari. Four power elf thief elusive. At the end
- 34:41Speaker 2: of your opponent's turn, if they drew two or more
- 34:43Speaker 2: cards during their draw card step, steal two.
- 34:47Speaker 5: What a great artwork.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah, look at that art. I tell ya.
- 34:53Speaker 4: Four power, baby. The four power is nice.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yup.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yup.
- 34:59Speaker 2: There are four of us.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Now, I did... Reach out to Ghost Galaxy through the
- 35:07Speaker 3: approved channels to ask for them to add a playmat
- 35:13Speaker 3: with this artwork.
- 35:15Speaker 2: They have not responded yet. Oh, okay. Have you just checked?
- 35:18Speaker 2: I don't know if they responded or they just put
- 35:20Speaker 2: it on there. No, I checked right now. I'm looking. Oh, okay.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I'm scrolling. It's not here.
- 35:27Speaker 3: So... I think they need to get their act together
- 35:34Speaker 3: because this art needs to be on a playmat that
- 35:39Speaker 3: I need to have.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I agree.
- 35:42Speaker 5: I know I'd get one.
- 35:42Speaker 2: I never noticed. Is that Ewok guarding a swear jar? Yeah.
- 35:53Speaker 5: You did not see that?
- 35:55Speaker 2: I do like... Oh, wait, never mind. That's money in
- 35:57Speaker 2: Drezkor's hand. I was hoping he was double fisting. I
- 36:01Speaker 2: got cards and a beer. I was hoping you had
- 36:06Speaker 2: a beer in one hand and a martini glass in
- 36:08Speaker 2: the other. That would be very fitting for you. And
- 36:14Speaker 2: sheep is staring off into space.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Which I'm doing right now.
- 36:19Speaker 3: As we talk about.
- 36:24Speaker 5: The artwork. The check is arriving any day now.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Any day now. We're waiting.
- 36:30Speaker 5: All right, Louie, what do we think, boys?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Is this chase level two? I mean, it's pretty good.
- 36:37Speaker 4: And it's true two or more. It's like how often
- 36:39Speaker 4: you're not trying at least two, right?
- 36:41Speaker 2: Yeah. It's hard to kill and it's elusive.
- 36:48Speaker 5: So I think what's really, really important here at the
- 36:53Speaker 5: end of your opponent's turn.
- 36:55Speaker 4: Yeah, they got a whole turn to deal with it.
- 36:57Speaker 5: No, it's not that. this effect is happening if they
- 37:01Speaker 5: drew two or more cards during that drop phase steal
- 37:03Speaker 5: two you're stealing two from them if.
- 37:05Speaker 2: At the end of their turn so if you were
- 37:08Speaker 2: at four right you get to steal your two and
- 37:11Speaker 2: forge a key well.
- 37:12Speaker 4: They get to plan for it i mean they know
- 37:14Speaker 4: what's happening right it's not quite like a stupid prophecy
- 37:18Speaker 4: where they're like ah you didn't know I'm taking your anger.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I tricked you.
- 37:23Speaker 5: It's true.
- 37:24Speaker 2: You fell for my trap card.
- 37:26Speaker 5: Both of these suffer from that. There's no taunt here
- 37:30Speaker 5: in shadows, which I appreciate, but this is a common.
- 37:35Speaker 4: He is there.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Too bad I can't put him next to Grammy taps
- 37:41Speaker 2: and give him double elusive. Super elusive. You can't even
- 37:49Speaker 2: see him. He's motherfucking John Cena. I think this one
- 37:57Speaker 2: might be the six. It's a sixer.
- 38:01Speaker 4: I've not actually played with this card yet.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I haven't either. I have a foil version of this.
- 38:08Speaker 2: My foil deck. Did you sign it for yourself? Oh,
- 38:12Speaker 2: I should. and then you should point to it every
- 38:17Speaker 2: time you play and be like I got the guy
- 38:19Speaker 2: I got one of the hosts to sign my.
- 38:20Speaker 7: Card yeah I got one of the guys I got
- 38:24Speaker 7: one of the hosts to sign it just one though
- 38:28Speaker 7: just the one couldn't get the other three but I
- 38:32Speaker 7: got this.
- 38:33Speaker 4: One they wanted 20 bucks a piece to sign.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Alright anybody got a problem with six no Who put
- 38:45Speaker 2: it at a five?
- 38:47Speaker 4: Just seems self-serving, but I'm okay with it.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Self-serving, here we go.
- 38:52Speaker 5: Is that not our cast, though?
- 38:55Speaker 2: This is a chase card for me. I'm looking for it.
- 39:00Speaker 5: So yes, Fall Guy is there with Taunt, but with
- 39:02Speaker 5: two power, it's just.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Were there any other art cards that are rares? Yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 2: there was. JJ's card was a rare.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Yep.
- 39:13Speaker 2: All right, well, let's go from one end of the
- 39:15Speaker 2: spectrum to the other. Nightmare Urchin, two power elf thief
- 39:20Speaker 2: after reap. If you are overrealmed, steal two. Otherwise, steal one.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I actually forgot I.
- 39:28Speaker 4: Gave you that.
- 39:30Speaker 2: To say, were you in a good mood that day? Otherwise, no.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Well, this card just has a crap ton of comparisons.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Reap Steel 1 has existed forever.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Yes.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Right?
- 39:40Speaker 4: He's just not elusive. So go over and look at
- 39:43Speaker 4: stupid 2 power not naughty.
- 39:50Speaker 2: You'll get there. Yeah, how do you spell him?
- 39:54Speaker 4: N-O-D-D-Y?
- 39:54Speaker 5: N-O-D-D-Y. Oh my goodness.
- 39:57Speaker 2: With D's. Why is it not? Oh, there he is.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Noddy the Feath. There it is.
- 40:05Speaker 3: He's a two originally. And exactly one user told us
- 40:10Speaker 3: it's a one. It's not even that good. Now that
- 40:15Speaker 3: was Action Steel one, not Reap Steel one or two.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Who's the one that's Koda? Who was that? They sucked, too.
- 40:29Speaker 2: There was. I am drawing a blank, but I can
- 40:35Speaker 2: picture the card. It's like shadows.
- 40:37Speaker 4: So what else there? Commander Cha. He's Reapsteel one. Three
- 40:43Speaker 4: power elusive.
- 40:44Speaker 2: He's a three.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Three power elusive makes him notably better.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Hmm nah so occasionally steals two yeah.
- 40:58Speaker 4: But he's basically two power one steal two he's about
- 41:03Speaker 4: equivalent to a naughty to me and you know like
- 41:07Speaker 4: he's double the amber but doesn't have the elusive so
- 41:10Speaker 4: happens less often so I give him the two that's
- 41:14Speaker 4: what I gave him the Minnesota deuce Like if you
- 41:17Speaker 4: land them, these guys are witchy. They're just very easy
- 41:20Speaker 4: to kill witchy. You can't let them sit around much.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and if you play a bunch of them, you're
- 41:25Speaker 3: no longer overwhelmed because now you've played a bunch of them, right?
- 41:28Speaker 4: Well, it doesn't matter if you're briefing for three and
- 41:31Speaker 4: stealing three. That's real good enough.
- 41:33Speaker 2: And so what is it? Samwise, right? Samwise Gamgee. That's
- 41:36Speaker 2: what it is.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Gamgee. Gamgee is a two elusive. If your opponent has
- 41:43Speaker 3: more ember than you steal one.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 3: So all these.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 41:48Speaker 2: All these shadows.
- 41:48Speaker 3: They're all the same card. I mean, you'd rather have this.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Is this the only urchin without elusive? Did the.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Yes.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Did the. Did the fish urchin, the swimming urchin.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Sea urchin.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Didn't have like poison or something. Oh, no, I don't know.
- 42:04Speaker 4: That was the evil one for sure.
- 42:07Speaker 2: It wasn't the evil. Yeah. No, sea urchin had poison.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Yeah. The evil sea urchin was the good one because
- 42:13Speaker 4: it could steal two.
- 42:14Speaker 2: All right.
- 42:15Speaker 1: No.
- 42:18Speaker 5: Evil is one power play. Capture two if the tide
- 42:21Speaker 5: is high. Steal two instead. But it's on a play.
- 42:25Speaker 4: So this guy is a two. He just lives in
- 42:29Speaker 4: that same land.
- 42:30Speaker 2: That he does. Lives in the land. Tanking. I like
- 42:37Speaker 2: the next card.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Pinscher Malloy.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Two power elf thief play if your opponent has more
- 42:43Speaker 2: ember than you. Steal two.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so this is what I was saying works well
- 42:47Speaker 4: with the, you know, give them some Amber. Mm-hmm. In
- 42:54Speaker 4: sealed DM, I will admit to upholding this card. So, like,
- 42:58Speaker 4: at some point, they're going to have more Amber. Man,
- 43:00Speaker 4: this thing's going to work.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I'm stealing two is good. I mean, this.
- 43:04Speaker 4: Stealing two is real.
- 43:06Speaker 2: This card is good.
- 43:08Speaker 4: This card's pretty good.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I agree.
- 43:10Speaker 3: There are, in the community, five people have given this
- 43:13Speaker 3: a five.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 43:17Speaker 3: I don't know if I could go to a five.
- 43:18Speaker 3: It's definitely a four, at least a four.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I gave it a five. I mean, yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 3: In this set, this is, this is basically the common
- 43:28Speaker 3: you want.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:30Speaker 4: So Pete's kind of saying this thing's very against all
- 43:33Speaker 4: flags and value, right? Steel two. That's against all flags,
- 43:37Speaker 4: but that takes more. That takes a different kind of setup.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:41Speaker 2: And it has a number.
- 43:42Speaker 4: I'm sure against all flags is also five. Maybe.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah, against all flags, a 5. So is this a 5?
- 43:52Speaker 4: No. I don't know if this is a 5.
- 43:54Speaker 2: This is a 4. There are going to be times where,
- 43:58Speaker 2: because against all flags, it's very easy to set up.
- 44:01Speaker 2: It's not that hard. And it steals one. No. You
- 44:09Speaker 2: need that equidon to bounce your pincher back.
- 44:13Speaker 5: Right?
- 44:14Speaker 2: Right. Maybe you can get it with your freeze and
- 44:17Speaker 2: get a couple of shadows pips in there. Just kidding.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Could happen.
- 44:26Speaker 3: It could happen.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I gave him a four. I thought four was
- 44:32Speaker 2: very reasonable. Four it is.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Gotta let my score have a reason. The now opportunity to.
- 44:44Speaker 5: The now and later is a good target for it,
- 44:46Speaker 5: but it's off house there.
- 44:47Speaker 2: All right. Four. Pyrotechnic Flash. Play deal two damage to
- 45:00Speaker 2: an enemy creature with one splash. If this damage destroys
- 45:04Speaker 2: two or more creatures, steal one.
- 45:11Speaker 4: The closest thing to combos with Claymore. ugly damage all
- 45:18Speaker 4: over the board. But yeah, you're two on this is right.
- 45:23Speaker 4: This card's crap.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:26Speaker 3: I mean, you're rarely going to steal and like this
- 45:31Speaker 3: conflicts a little bit with another. Well, first of all,
- 45:34Speaker 3: this set has power counters, right? So you're you're it's
- 45:39Speaker 3: making it harder for a little damage to kill two things.
- 45:44Speaker 2: And right.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Throwing stars is in set. So often you have to
- 45:47Speaker 3: pick and choose between, well, do I want to do
- 45:50Speaker 3: throwing stores or do I want to do pyrotechnic flash
- 45:52Speaker 3: instead of being able to do both?
- 45:54Speaker 2: So, yeah, it's not great. So they're both.
- 45:57Speaker 4: The only house with small creatures is shadows. Everybody else
- 46:00Speaker 4: is kind of meaty.
- 46:01Speaker 2: A little bit. Fish is. Got a huge fish has
- 46:06Speaker 2: a few smallies. I gave it a two dose. One,
- 46:13Speaker 2: you know, wow you're disliking that.
- 46:16Speaker 5: Much this is a common slot I do not want
- 46:19Speaker 5: to see it for all the reasons you said there's
- 46:24Speaker 5: no amber pip it's very rarely going to steal it
- 46:28Speaker 5: can potentially do some damage to a creature but like
- 46:34Speaker 5: outside of shadows maybe a little bit it's not doing
- 46:38Speaker 5: enough damage it's not taking out a creature I cannot
- 46:40Speaker 5: give you that I Yeah, I can tell you that
- 46:46Speaker 5: two may not be enough to literally take out anybody.
- 46:49Speaker 5: So if it's not even going to be targeted, see one.
- 46:54Speaker 2: What was pound? Let's say pound was just two damage,
- 46:58Speaker 2: wasn't it?
- 46:59Speaker 3: Pound is two damage with a splash. Now did have
- 47:02Speaker 3: a number pip.
- 47:02Speaker 2: It was a three.
- 47:03Speaker 3: We gave pound a three. Now AOA is old, like
- 47:08Speaker 3: we haven't gone back and there's no reason to, but. Yeah,
- 47:13Speaker 3: it did have an ember pip, but I don't see.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Well, and we established the ember pip was worth three earlier,
- 47:19Speaker 5: which I think is a little bit high on that rating.
- 47:21Speaker 2: But it.
- 47:23Speaker 5: I stand one. I do not want to see this.
- 47:27Speaker 5: And it's OK if you guys go with the two
- 47:28Speaker 5: and I rate it lower.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Somehow the community score is higher than a two,
- 47:35Speaker 3: so I understand. All right.
- 47:39Speaker 4: We're bad at this game.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Two it is all right rain and cycle play pay
- 47:50Speaker 2: your opponent one if you do take control of an
- 47:52Speaker 2: enemy artifact creature or artifact.
- 47:58Speaker 3: You know steal steal a creature or steal an artifact
- 48:01Speaker 3: pretty good pretty good.
- 48:03Speaker 2: You gotta give him an amber You do.
- 48:06Speaker 5: If you give them an Amber and it does not
- 48:08Speaker 5: change the house that the creature or artifact is in.
- 48:11Speaker 4: I don't know if that, well, depending. What was that
- 48:15Speaker 4: artifact you played on me this past week? Made keys
- 48:21Speaker 4: cost plus three and then you get to do a
- 48:22Speaker 4: whole bunch of stupid stuff after I forge. Oh, the
- 48:28Speaker 4: dynasty of something.
- 48:30Speaker 2: It's in dynasty. I could take your dynasty for the
- 48:34Speaker 2: low low of one number. Yeah. I think Sin Dynasty
- 48:42Speaker 2: might be worth one ember.
- 48:45Speaker 5: But again, you're talking... But that's just one card, Wookie.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I understand. Yeah.
- 48:53Speaker 4: There are a lot of creatures worth paying an ember
- 48:56Speaker 4: to either deny them from having or take and actually
- 49:02Speaker 4: get value from yourself. Because taking a creature away is
- 49:05Speaker 4: is often almost the same as creature destruction, and in
- 49:09Speaker 4: some ways better, because they can't just be like, oh,
- 49:11Speaker 4: I recur it.
- 49:13Speaker 2: That's easy.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Although, when you have their creatures, then bounce does become resurrection.
- 49:18Speaker 2: See, I remember a card. that was an mm which
- 49:21Speaker 2: was pay your opponent one number destroy target creature destroy
- 49:25Speaker 2: a creature i was told that.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Was not good it's not great So why is this
- 49:31Speaker 4: creature or artifact and you get control of it? So
- 49:34Speaker 4: at the worst situation, you're using it for creature control,
- 49:38Speaker 4: but most often you're taking something and gaining benefit because
- 49:43Speaker 4: you have it and they don't.
- 49:45Speaker 5: So what Wookiee, I think the really big difference is,
- 49:48Speaker 5: is that you're looking for Sin Dynasty and it doesn't
- 49:52Speaker 5: matter which house it's in because of the fact. Keys
- 49:55Speaker 5: cost plus two, remember, after your opponent forces a key.
- 49:58Speaker 2: But this is more or less targeted removal. Pay your
- 50:00Speaker 2: opponent one, and then I get to remove, and I understand, like,
- 50:03Speaker 2: I now have control of it.
- 50:05Speaker 5: But what I'm saying is because you're not switching the
- 50:08Speaker 5: house for the creature or the artifact.
- 50:12Speaker 2: But what I'm saying, right, I understand that, but what
- 50:15Speaker 2: I'm saying is why is the, what was it? Pay
- 50:18Speaker 2: your opponent, what was it called? Whisper. Whisper. Whisper.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Because it was also on a creature that had to
- 50:24Speaker 4: get landed and then has to be used.
- 50:27Speaker 2: No, it wasn't action. No, it wasn't action.
- 50:30Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 50:32Speaker 2: You guys keep talking. I'll find it. I'll find what
- 50:35Speaker 2: I'm looking for.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Oh, there is a story and card that's pay one
- 50:39Speaker 4: to kill.
- 50:40Speaker 2: No, it was a shadows card. That's Whisper. There was
- 50:46Speaker 2: the Steve Urkel, right? Did I do that? What was it? Um....
- 50:51Speaker 3: Uh no what is it oops oops something um sorry
- 50:57Speaker 3: sorry about that right sorry but that purges i'm just purge.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Yeah uh.
- 51:06Speaker 5: Yeah that's destroy creature its controller gains one sorry about that.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Sorry about that is only a two.
- 51:12Speaker 5: Actually that's destroy so you're not gaining control of it
- 51:18Speaker 5: yeah I think that.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Oh, Tempting Offer was Bounce. Tempting Offer is what I
- 51:25Speaker 2: was thinking about, and that's Bounce creature. Yeah, and it
- 51:27Speaker 2: gives them a number, yeah. If you do, your opponent
- 51:29Speaker 2: gains one. Yeah, that was not great.
- 51:34Speaker 5: I think that there are cards that if you're playing
- 51:37Speaker 5: an Archon, which is what we're scoring for, that you
- 51:41Speaker 5: will have to not be able to play your artifact
- 51:44Speaker 5: if it is just a general.
- 51:47Speaker 2: So....
- 51:48Speaker 5: Dual sided.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Even more reason to give artifacts a one. No, but
- 51:57Speaker 2: I tried everybody. All right, well, I'm giving rain and
- 52:00Speaker 2: cycle a five.
- 52:04Speaker 4: It's a four.
- 52:06Speaker 2: I'm with sheep.
- 52:07Speaker 5: It's a four for me.
- 52:08Speaker 4: It's just not as I mean, it's just not as
- 52:10Speaker 4: good as the other ones that let you steal people's stuff.
- 52:14Speaker 5: It's pay.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Controlled.
- 52:18Speaker 5: It's rare.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Where are you at, Wookie? I gave it a three, but.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Three.
- 52:24Speaker 2: All right. So we're taking the four then. Yeah, that
- 52:28Speaker 2: sounds good to me. Or it is. Where do we
- 52:31Speaker 2: leave off? Take a break. Take a break.
- 52:33Speaker 5: Take a break.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Pippa Vember, every time you play it, play exhausts the
- 52:37Speaker 2: least powerful enemy creature and each of its neighbors.
- 52:43Speaker 4: So this is our combo with our other steel card. Yeah.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Nine users gave this a three. That's interesting.
- 52:54Speaker 3: So the community likes this better than us. Or at
- 52:57Speaker 3: least better than my initial scoring.
- 52:59Speaker 2: That's what I mean.
- 52:59Speaker 4: Nocturnal Maneuver.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Oh, is that the other one? That's this card.
- 53:06Speaker 5: He's calling it comparable, yeah. So caught you napping at
- 53:11Speaker 5: Common and take a break at Common will show up
- 53:18Speaker 5: potentially more frequently.
- 53:22Speaker 2: So that's at least.
- 53:22Speaker 4: But it's still in a set where you don't have
- 53:25Speaker 4: monster efficiency, so having the exact cards you want together
- 53:28Speaker 4: are not as often.
- 53:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that's not what we're scoring for, so....
- 53:35Speaker 3: Nocturnal Maneuver is a 2.
- 53:38Speaker 2: And you get to pick the creatures. Did Nocturnal Maneuver
- 53:43Speaker 2: have a pip? Yep, it did. I couldn't remember.
- 53:47Speaker 3: It does because there's a whole bunch of exhaust in
- 53:50Speaker 3: this set, so having a whole bunch of it is
- 53:53Speaker 3: more useful in this set than it was back in Coda.
- 53:58Speaker 3: But I still think this is a two.
- 54:00Speaker 4: I think creatures are generally stronger than Coda, too.
- 54:04Speaker 3: In general.
- 54:06Speaker 4: But I still think this is a two.
- 54:08Speaker 2: I think this is worse than Nocturnal Maneuvers.
- 54:11Speaker 4: I don't think it's significantly worse.
- 54:14Speaker 2: It is.
- 54:16Speaker 4: You're not incorrect. But it is not significantly worse.
- 54:20Speaker 2: It's not enough to deduct one point from Gryffindor?
- 54:24Speaker 4: That's right.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Okay. I'm fine with it.
- 54:27Speaker 4: No, you know what?
- 54:28Speaker 2: I'm going to give it a one. You guys can
- 54:29Speaker 2: leave it at a two. But it has a pip.
- 54:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I keep going back and forth. You
- 54:39Speaker 2: know what? I'm just going to leave it at a two.
- 54:40Speaker 2: I'm going to leave it at a two. Call it
- 54:43Speaker 2: a day.
- 54:43Speaker 5: All right.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Everybody's cool with that? Everybody cool with the two? Two
- 54:49Speaker 2: it is. Ewok? I think we lost a wok. Okay.
- 54:58Speaker 2: The Watch 2 Power Elf Cyborg. Also, fun fact, there
- 55:04Speaker 2: are buckets of cyborgs in this set. Have you guys
- 55:07Speaker 2: noticed that? For a set with no logos? I have not, like.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Because I can't remember what I played against.
- 55:15Speaker 5: You used Spontaneous Awakening. And I was like, that dude's
- 55:20Speaker 5: a cyborg?
- 55:21Speaker 3: Who knew?
- 55:22Speaker 2: I didn't. But so is the watch. He's elusive and entrenched.
- 55:28Speaker 2: While the watch is exhausted, your ember can't be stolen.
- 55:35Speaker 4: We've had this effect plenty of time.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Odoak. Odoak. Odoak?
- 55:39Speaker 4: Odoak? Yeah, but Odoak was good outside of that.
- 55:42Speaker 2: He was also a 5 power.
- 55:45Speaker 4: He was also the Vault Keeper.
- 55:47Speaker 3: I always wondered way back in Coda World if Vault
- 55:56Speaker 3: Keeper was a common if.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Sanctum would have been irrelevant.
- 56:03Speaker 5: It would have been more relevant, but.
- 56:05Speaker 4: I don't think so. Because there were enough decks opened
- 56:08Speaker 4: with Vault Keeper to not matter for now.
- 56:13Speaker 2: They've got multiples. So sure.
- 56:16Speaker 5: The creatures just were too this big.
- 56:19Speaker 4: And I give this the same score as discombobulated.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Let's say this and I spelled this come with an
- 56:29Speaker 3: M three discombobulated three, but it hasn't ever been OK.
- 56:36Speaker 3: You don't have to boss the guy, but it is
- 56:39Speaker 3: an upgrade.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why this guy has to stay entrenched, which
- 56:43Speaker 4: is why I put it as like this, like not
- 56:46Speaker 4: as good as definitely.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Not as good as Zodawak.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Maybe this guy is this guy still also just not
- 56:51Speaker 4: as good as Vault Keeper. What's he at?
- 56:53Speaker 2: Well, Keeper's a three. Yeah, he's the bigger one armor.
- 56:58Speaker 4: Now, bigger and weak.
- 57:01Speaker 3: We did we did see this card matter in. Well,
- 57:05Speaker 3: I guess it was sealed. So, yeah, I mean, this
- 57:08Speaker 3: is going to be better unsealed.
- 57:09Speaker 4: Steel is for real, like in our country.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, those can be easier to take care
- 57:16Speaker 2: of a two power dude.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Does that make him a two because he's so easy
- 57:25Speaker 4: to deal with in relative?
- 57:27Speaker 2: Maybe. I'm torn between a two and a three. Do
- 57:35Speaker 2: we think I think it really matters a few? Well,
- 57:37Speaker 2: I guess every deck is going to have steel of
- 57:39Speaker 2: some sort. Well, so it'll stop hoodwink. It'll.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Stop, you know, it doesn't stop cover fire, just knocks
- 57:50Speaker 3: it down slightly. Stops TMTP. Does not stop graft. It's
- 58:02Speaker 3: just too small. It's too small.
- 58:05Speaker 5: There's a lot of little chump change, like routine jobs
- 58:09Speaker 5: in set, so that will go at Steel. The subtle
- 58:12Speaker 5: change there for Steel. So the Pinter Malloy, which we
- 58:16Speaker 5: talked about earlier, is there. Somehow they magically had Christmas
- 58:20Speaker 5: Tree Land and Pyrotechnic flashed in.
- 58:22Speaker 4: The fact that this guy has to be entrenched is
- 58:24Speaker 4: why he's getting a 2.
- 58:26Speaker 2: Correct.
- 58:27Speaker 5: With both Luis and Nightmare Urchin, like There's enough steel,
- 58:33Speaker 5: but it's because of the entrench that he just is
- 58:36Speaker 5: not going to stick around. Like, it's too low.
- 58:39Speaker 4: He just sucks because you have to keep him exhausted
- 58:43Speaker 4: so he has no other value. So if they're not
- 58:47Speaker 4: stealing the next couple of turns, he's just.
- 58:50Speaker 2: All right, two.
- 58:54Speaker 4: Yay!
- 58:58Speaker 2: What is next? Valora Wolf's Whisper Fang? Yep. Three power
- 59:04Speaker 2: elf thief. After your opponent plays a creature, deal two
- 59:07Speaker 2: damage to it.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Uncanny.
- 59:10Speaker 2: This used to be a card too that wasn't a creature. Actually,
- 59:14Speaker 2: I think it only did one. Was it cannon? Auto cannon. Oh, yeah,
- 59:22Speaker 2: but when they have to play. Yeah. So the two
- 59:26Speaker 2: is better than the one. significantly better and it's only
- 59:29Speaker 2: your opponent's creatures uh-huh this this thing this thing can
- 59:35Speaker 2: be a pain in the butt it can be but
- 59:37Speaker 2: it also dies to everything.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Can you get convenience that would be cool i'm sure
- 59:42Speaker 4: you could.
- 59:43Speaker 3: Uh yeah i've definitely faced that and uh it was
- 59:47Speaker 3: not fun especially it's sealed he got two of them
- 59:50Speaker 3: on board like well i just got a handful of
- 59:52Speaker 3: creatures that are all gonna die when i play them
- 59:54Speaker 3: yep it's the.
- 59:56Speaker 2: It could be a big problem and lock you out,
- 59:58Speaker 2: I suppose. Now, what does that mean for Archon?
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: There are six stacks with three of them.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: It doesn't... Wait. It's... What's the timing on this card?
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: After opponent plays a creature, deal two damage to it. Yeah.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: So that's in the.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Same time as play effects, so play effects will go off.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: I was saying this thing could prevent play effects. It'd
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: be real good.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yes, it would. It'd be a six if it could
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: prevent play effects.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it has to even be the scenario
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: of the damage killed. But but but that is not
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: the case with the way the rules are. But I
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: have it on three right now.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Do you know?
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: I agree.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Three seems very valid.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: Why does this one not have to be entrenched? It's
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: so weird.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Random? So incredibly random?
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: We ran out of entrenched. We were only.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Allowed to get so many things entrenched. Grammy taps had
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: to take one, so... Yeah. So not... Could you imagine
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: if that was the real reason? And they're like, oh man,
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: we gave too many things entrenched and Grammy Taps was it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: You'd be like, really? That's the card you decided needed
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: to be entrenched to do a thing? All right. Victor Flux.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I think he's the only human in Shadows ever. He's
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: a human scientist. Three power.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: I think that's because he's like, I want to be
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: a Logus. Logus is gone.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Oh, fine. I'll go to Shadows. This is our buddy Barlow. Oh,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: is it Barlow? This is his art. Yeah, check out
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: his Barlow knife there. Barlow knife.
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: It's a style of knife.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a type of knife. He's got the knife
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: in his hand. Well, after he reaps, you can purge
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: a card from your discard pile. If you do, until
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: the start of your next turn, your opponent cannot play
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: cards of the purged house cards type. purge cards type
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: not house you can take.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Out some of the traumatic echoes on.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: Yep on a stick it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Really messes with pokemon players.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: It must yeah yeah man i you know guys the
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: we were chatting about this off off mike before about
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: how the guests on Help Your Future Self really took
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: it to X-Ray more than we did. We felt ashamed
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: for not really giving it to X-Ray as much as
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: we could have.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: What do you mean? They actually got the story.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: X-Ray was too embarrassed to tell us.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: I could have told the story. X-Ray... The final for.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Not Archon, excuse me, the final four sealed, right? The
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: streaming is DM on DM. And we can't hear what's
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: going on on the table, but but I'm streaming with
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: I believe was Dom Fam at that time. So Dom
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Fam and I are streaming and you could see that
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: goes ahead, reaps with Victor Flux, the ready zone reaps again. And,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: you know, pass this turn to to X-Ray and we
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: we're like, OK, X-Ray is going to do whatever, whatever,
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: because that's what he needs to do. He's got this board, whatever.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: But instead he goes into like some other house and
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: starts doing stuff right where it's too late to you know,
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: you're doing stuff. It's too late to be like, actually,
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: this other house. And, uh, and then like, you just
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: see these like hand motions flying across the, the, the
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: camera screen and you can see x-ray counting on his
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: fingers and narrating. I'm like, so right now he's like, wait,
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: so you're telling me I can't play creatures and I
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: can't play actions and you're on check. And, uh, we're like, yeah, that,
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: that's what he's telling you.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: X-ray happens to x-ray quite often.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: And, uh, and so poor x-ray lost, uh, And so afterwards,
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: X-Ray was like, yeah, I got the whole pipe thing
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: mixed up. We were like, mixed up with what?
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: And he's like, well, you know, like in Pokemon, it's
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: like fire or grass or stone or poison. We're like, well, what?
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, it's like, well, you just you thought
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: it stopped making a cyborg or something. And he, I
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: don't know. So he lost because he was thinking about Pokemon.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: And then in his rage.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: He was thinking of going to the Pokemon tournament. Well,
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: he did.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: In his rage, he went into the Pokemon tournament at
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: the store that we were at. We were all flanking
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: for him. He's like, I'm going to go play Pokemon.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: And he was very proud of himself going 3-0 and
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: winning some packs of Pokemon from probably some little kids
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: he crushed, you know. So he insists that they divided
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: the older, the adults and the children. But yeah, not
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: really sure I believe him.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: So. So, yeah. So X-Ray.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: Forgot what a type is and thought it was, you know,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: water or.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Fire. Yeah. This is what happens. Did he give up
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: on Wakana? Now he's on a Pokemon? Yeah, I think so. Yeah.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: So I think he's trying to get his kid into Pokemon,
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: you know, which is, you know, you know, bonding experience
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: with your kids.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Right, right, right.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: You know, you know, so she's got to you just
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: got to get him through that.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: And upgrade him to Key Forge.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: OK, so we got to score Victor Flux.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: OK. Yeah, I'm good with four.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: But he's got to reach, right?
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: He's got to reach. He's got to live. But you
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: do need to kill him. Otherwise, he will ruin... Yeah,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I can imagine having two of these and ruining somebody's day.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, just having two, which there's plenty of twos.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: Just having two where you can suddenly, every turn, prevent
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: your opponent from playing actions and creatures.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: That.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: That will lock down most decks so this is uh
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: um can be very dangerous but but you do have
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: you do got a shot to kill them only three
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: power but yeah they're they're pretty good pretty good agreed
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: i'm cool i i gave him a four i wish
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: he was calm but he's not he's uncommon yeah no
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: because of course he is Yeah, just like nice things
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: and shadows. Just like the ground type is very common.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Oh, very uncommon. I'm sorry. I'm kind of.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Bug type bug types, very common bug.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: OK, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you run into you run into
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: the bug catchers a lot in the Pokemon games.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: And then they throw the frickin metapod at you. That's
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: still that's still in its metapod phase. You're like, what
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: do you do with that?
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: You know what you're going to do. You're going to
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: want some cards from prior sets and reprints.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: So which of these do we want? We talked about TMTP.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: So of course you want that. We're all good with Forza. Yes. Cool. Yes.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: I do want TMTP. Subtle chain is always a fan
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: favorite routine job. Yeah.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Not great.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: Throwing stars, oops. You really don't want throwing stars in
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: this set. It's bad in this set.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Such a weird set to pull throwing stars into. With
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: all the power counters, I don't understand.
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: I know that we talked earlier about.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: What is it?
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: I'm totally glitching.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: All Fall Guys common. I'll take some Fall Guys.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: It provides taunt, but it's not doing... It's a common.
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: that as far as common goes in shadows he's one
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: of the better ones he's alright yeah I mean yeah
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: I think finishing blow might have a chance in sealed
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: in sealed DM to do more than a lot of things.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Yeah finishing blows got support in this set so I
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: think I think.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: Yeah What I was talking about, routine jobs back. We
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: have been able to track down, as we've talked about previously,
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: that routine jobs only at three sets. So that's disappointing. Again,
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: I'd really like to see it as four. I don't
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: want to see it go above four. I don't want
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: to see five or six of them in a deck,
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: but I think four is fine. I actually think that's
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: a nice spot versus the three.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Man, there are not a lot of good reprints in
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: this set.
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: Well, there are two routine job decks in this set.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: So you can't get two or three.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah, but there's no four, which sucks. There's no four.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: So far.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: There is one Chinese deck with four now.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Oh, is there one? We finally found one, so it
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: is possible.
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: Yep, it is possible.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: That wasn't a Vaultmaster 25 or 26 deck, was it?
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: No, it's definitely a Chinese deck.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Why do the Chinese get all the good decks? Why
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: is it all the Chinese, the Vietnamese, all those decks
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: are good? Because they open more than we do. Open better.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Do they open just better? Open better.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: I'll take your word out. So they reprinted Widespread Corruption,
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: which is a card I never figured out what in
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: the world to do with it. And I didn't really
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: know if I should discard it or play it. And
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: I wasn't.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: It seemed indeterminable. What was better? I like this card.
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: Widespread corruption. Amber Pip artifacts. After a player gains Amber
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: by reaping a creature, they do not control captures that Amber.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: After the game, I'm reaping comma.
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: A creature. They do not control captures that Amber. So.
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: Every time you reap, it just goes on to your
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: opponent's creatures. Is this something we can combo with? That
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: is super bad in this set with Old Switch Ruse
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: and the pay to swap. There's so much swapping. The
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: only reason I would say you'd want this potentially is
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: you don't have those cards and you're protecting against them
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: using Hannibal's Mark and the other steel cards on you. Like,
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: I can steal my amber-piled creatures. I mean, because every
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: time they reap, it goes on your creature, which means
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: it's not in their pool and they're not forging. So
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: that's not terrible, but you can't be reaping to win either.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: It's on their turn, so they get to decide where
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: to allocate it. So it's hard to set it up well.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: There's a little bit that you might be able to
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: actually set up with Ditch the Loot. Yeah, that's what
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: I was thinking. But that is... but that's the best
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: that I'm seeing and it's not great.
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: No, no, don't think you want that one. No, no.
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: Oh, that Clifter, that Clifter's back. He changes house and that's,
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: it's a thing, right? There are definitely a handful of
- 1:12:31Speaker 8: artifacts even in this set that are real, real handy
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: to steal.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: I think my issue with shadows is just the size
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: of the creatures.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: Like, That boosted Barry is here and he's boo.
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: Boo Barry.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Oh, Barry. Well, outside of it's not that time of year.
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: Outside of boosted Barry and Louie, like everything is a
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: one or a two. I guess technically chain gang is
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: a three.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: Finishing blow.
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: Victor's a three, but.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of a lot of low power creatures.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: So rigged lottery. But, you know, everybody's going to be
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: playing shadows and PV.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: So makes it hard, hard to play. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: I mean, there are definitely good. There's going to be
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: decks with good shadows. You know, what might make Pinterloy.
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: Is not a four is multiples. It's actually one where
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: in multiples, You end up ahead, and then you quit stealing.
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: At least with, like, Ronnie, he would always still steal one. Yeah.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: But Ronnie... Is Ronnie a five? I would assume so. Yeah,
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Ronnie's a five.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: Yeah, because Ronnie's better.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: But he's much better.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Well....
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: Well, well, well... I don't know. I think you just
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: want all the steal cards, and that's about it.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Oh!
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: There are.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Yeah a decent number of steel cards right so all
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: right let's wrap this up agreed i push the recalculating
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: button so by the time you hear.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: This uh.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: Our the decks will be recalculated and uh we'll probably
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: have even lower top.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Scores than we did before how low can we go
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: uh I know.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: It's not looking great for DM.
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: That is terrible. There is a Dark Tidings deck that
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: Drazz is out better than the best DM deck.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: That is rough.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Drazz score has it at 125 and my score has
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: it at 135.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: Wow, 10 points. Yeah.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: Look at that.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Should, uh, yeah. Take a, take a look at that.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: Yeah. I see my decks.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: You, you just go to the filter where it says
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: my deck.
