  Speaker 2: nor cold, I'm about to speech you out of my mouth.

  Speaker 2: You say, I'm rich, I have acquired wealth and do

  Speaker 2: not need a thing, But you do not realize that
• 8:47
  Speaker 2: you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel

  Speaker 2: so that you can become rich, and white clothes to

  Speaker 2: wear so that you can cover your shameful nakedness, and

  Speaker 2: of God. There's a few things that we need to
• 10:44
  Speaker 2: pick apart here. First of all, Jesus is addressing himself,

  Speaker 2: as we know that. He starts off these letters by
• 10:54
  Speaker 2: giving a description of who he is and is pertaining
• 11:02
  Speaker 2: to the situation, the need of the church, the need
• 11:06
  Speaker 2: at the moment, as I said, it connects with his nature.

  Speaker 2: He is the becoming one. Whatever you need, he is
• 11:15
  Speaker 2: an answer. If you have an anger problem, he's able
• 11:18
  Speaker 2: to give you peace. If you have fear, he's able
• 11:22
  Speaker 2: to give you courage. Like that is a huge part
• 11:26
  Speaker 2: of our relationship with him and how he interacts with us.
• 11:30
  Speaker 2: So he describes himself as the Amen. The Amen is
• 11:35
  Speaker 2: the one who confirms all truth. Right, when we sit
• 11:39
  Speaker 2: in church and we hear a good point, our pastor
• 11:42
  Speaker 2: is preaching, or someone is teaching, and we want to
• 11:45
  Speaker 2: confirm the truth, we yell out Amen. Well, Jesus is
• 11:50
  Speaker 2: the Amen. He's the final Amen. He confirms all truth,
• 11:57
  Speaker 2: and he describes himself as the faithful and true Witness,
• 12:03
  Speaker 2: the faithful and true witness. Now this contrast contrast, if
• 12:10
  Speaker 2: I get my words together here, the unfaithful witness of
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: the lad of Seins, right, It contrasts that they failed
• 12:22
  Speaker 2: to be a faithful and true witness. But Jesus says
• 12:26
  Speaker 2: that I am the faithful and true witness. We need
• 12:30
  Speaker 2: to look to him if we need to get back
• 12:33
  Speaker 2: to where we need to be. And I love that
• 12:35
  Speaker 2: Jesus is letting them know from jump I am the
• 12:40
  Speaker 2: real deal. And he's not playing games. He's saying, look,

  Speaker 2: I am faithful even when you're not. You know what
• 12:49
  Speaker 2: I'm saying, Like, even when you don't believe, I'm still faithful.
• 12:54
  Speaker 2: Even when you fall back, I am still faithful. And
• 12:58
  Speaker 2: that's Bible. Amen. And so let's determine to be that
• 13:06
  Speaker 2: faithful intoe witness. All right, Let's go to verse fifteen
• 13:12
  Speaker 2: and sixteen. Now Here he says, I know your works
• 13:18
  Speaker 2: that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish
• 13:23
  Speaker 2: you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm,
• 13:30
  Speaker 2: I will vomit you out of my mouth. That's deep.
• 13:35
  Speaker 2: This is deep.

  Speaker 3: Now.

  Speaker 2: In Ladicea, they had a water supply that it was
• 13:42
  Speaker 2: a famous It's kind of like a hot springs, but
• 13:45
  Speaker 2: it wasn't very hot. Like there were another city here, Heriopolis.

  Speaker 2: They were known for having hot springs in that area, right.

  Speaker 2: And then in Colossie they had cold water. Right, I'm
• 14:09
  Speaker 2: looking up this commentary right now. These different locations, they
• 14:13
  Speaker 2: were known for hot and they were known for cold.

  Speaker 2: But Ladiesia was known for lukewarm. Basically their water was detastable. Right,
• 14:28
  Speaker 2: Nobody wants a lukewarm drink. Right. If you have coffee
• 14:33
  Speaker 2: that's been sitting out for a long time and it
• 14:36
  Speaker 2: was nice and hot, and you go back to it
• 14:38
  Speaker 2: is lukewarm, what's the first reaction? You want to spit
• 14:42
  Speaker 2: that stuff out right, spew it out of your mouth. Now,
• 14:48
  Speaker 2: God is looking for Christians who are who are on
• 14:54
  Speaker 2: fire for him. He's looking for us. He's looking to
• 14:59
  Speaker 2: send fire in these last days. He's looking for a
• 15:02
  Speaker 2: revival fire to rise up within us. God is not
• 15:09
  Speaker 2: looking for a halfway Christian. He'd rather you be cold
• 15:14
  Speaker 2: and be real about it. Like, if you're cold, that's fine, right,
• 15:18
  Speaker 2: he can respect that, or he wants you to be
• 15:22
  Speaker 2: hot and on fire for him, but luke warm faith
• 15:27
  Speaker 2: makes him sick. Now, this right here is a wake
• 15:31
  Speaker 2: up call. I had to examine myself. And actually I'm
• 15:38
  Speaker 2: thinking about the church in America because as we read
• 15:43
  Speaker 2: about this church, this church is very wealthy. This church
• 15:48
  Speaker 2: is very self sufficient. They felt that they didn't need anything.
• 15:55
  Speaker 2: And I believe in living in a generation where there's
• 15:59
  Speaker 2: more millionaires then generations before. Every time you turn on YouTube,
• 16:07
  Speaker 2: you see somebody with the latest and the greatest trying
• 16:11
  Speaker 2: to instruct you on the way how you can start
• 16:13
  Speaker 2: making twenty thousand dollars a month on YouTube. And I
• 16:19
  Speaker 2: don't know if it's real or not, and if you
• 16:22
  Speaker 2: are able to do so. I'm not saying it's right
• 16:25
  Speaker 2: or wrong. But you can't just leave it at that.
• 16:31
  Speaker 2: You have to dig deep in your relationship with God.
• 16:35
  Speaker 2: And we're gonna talk about that in these next scriptures
• 16:39
  Speaker 2: coming up, because the Bible addresses this now verse seventeen,
• 16:48
  Speaker 2: because you say I am rich. See here's the verse
• 16:51
  Speaker 2: right here. You say that you're rich, have become wealthy,
• 16:56
  Speaker 2: and have need of nothing and do not I know
• 17:00
  Speaker 2: that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked as deep.

  Speaker 2: This was a church that saw themselves through the lens
• 17:12
  Speaker 2: of worldly success. So the world might say that you're successful.

  Speaker 2: The world might validate you from the world say, while
• 17:20
  Speaker 2: this is a successful church, a successful group of people,
• 17:26
  Speaker 2: but they didn't see their spiritual poverty. Now this hits me.

  Speaker 2: They had money but no ministry, they had stuff but
• 17:38
  Speaker 2: no spirit. Be careful. We can be so full of
• 17:44
  Speaker 2: this world that we don't realize that we're spiritually empty,
• 17:50
  Speaker 2: and we can get comfortable in our wealth today. A
• 17:56
  Speaker 2: lot of the wealth of the world is in our current.

  Speaker 2: In America, we really don't know poverty like other countries do.

  Speaker 2: We have it so comfortable. I can go to work,
• 18:11
  Speaker 2: come home, I can lay down, sit in my favorite spot,
• 18:15
  Speaker 2: turn on the TV, watch my favorite show, get up,
• 18:20
  Speaker 2: go to the kitchen, grab something to eat, go mess
• 18:24
  Speaker 2: around on the computer, play some Xbox, go to bed,
• 18:28
  Speaker 2: get up, and do it a given the next day.

  Speaker 2: It's so easy for me to do this and leave
• 18:34
  Speaker 2: God out of my day, Like did I seek God today?
• 18:39
  Speaker 2: Did I pursue him today? Did I acknowledge Him today?
• 18:42
  Speaker 2: Did I gain spiritually today? Did I reach out? Did
• 18:48
  Speaker 2: I save someone today? I mean, we can't save people,
• 18:51
  Speaker 2: but did I witness? Like like it's easy to do
• 18:55
  Speaker 2: so and then get up and go to church and
• 18:58
  Speaker 2: then forget about God until the next Sunday. We just
• 19:04
  Speaker 2: live for ourselves. It's easy to be lukewarm in this country.
• 19:12
  Speaker 2: And this is convicting. And this I pray that we
• 19:17
  Speaker 2: will not go down this path, that we will repent
• 19:21
  Speaker 2: if we find ourselves living this type of lifestyle. God
• 19:27
  Speaker 2: wants us to pursue him. He is worthy. This is
• 19:30
  Speaker 2: a relationship, This is a marriage. We have to interact
• 19:35
  Speaker 2: and pursue and spend time with Jesus on a daily basis.

  Speaker 2: We need to be on fire and we need to
• 19:43
  Speaker 2: be hot for our love for God. Amen. No, let's
• 19:50
  Speaker 2: go to verse eighteen. Now this is the remedy. See,
• 19:54
  Speaker 2: this is what I love about God. Even though he
• 19:57
  Speaker 2: points out what's wrong, he gives a solution.
• 19:59
  Speaker 4: Right.

  Speaker 2: He gives us a path and a way back. So

  Speaker 2: let's look at the way back. The path that he

  Speaker 2: gives us. I counsel you to buy from me gold

  Speaker 2: refined in the fire. See, that's our pursue we're supposed

  Speaker 2: to pursue him, We're supposed to seek him, and he

  Speaker 2: has white garments. Anoint your eyes with eyesalve Now, Jesus

  Speaker 2: offered spiritual riches, righteousness and discernment, true wealth. The world

  Speaker 2: cannot give the world. You can't find this in the world.

  Speaker 2: The world cannot give you spiritual riches. As a matter

  Speaker 2: of fact, the world will make you spiritually bankrupt. The

  Speaker 2: world cannot produce righteousness. They want you to walk in

  Speaker 2: wickedness and they want you Satan wants to blind you.

  Speaker 2: Satan has blinded this world to their true spiritual state.

  Speaker 2: I'm a Star Wars fan, and the episodes where Anakin

  Speaker 2: was coming up through the ranks in the Jedi Order.

  Speaker 2: The Emperor Palpatine was the leading somehow he found his

  Speaker 2: way as basically the President of the Republic at the time, right,

  Speaker 2: and as he was the president, you can say, or

  Speaker 2: I forget the term they used, the Jedi Order was

  Speaker 2: right there under his nose and they didn't know that

  Speaker 2: he was the Sith Lord like. He was able to

  Speaker 2: blind them and lead them in the dark until it

  Speaker 2: was too late. He took over the whole republic and

  Speaker 2: created an empire. That right there is exactly what Satan

  Speaker 2: is doing to this world. People don't know that danger

  Speaker 2: and destroy their lives. They don't know this, and hopefully

  Speaker 2: their eyes will be open before it's too late. That is,

  Speaker 2: I believe a part of this lukewarmness that we're talking

  Speaker 2: about we're reading about today now. But Jesus offers eyesaf.

  Speaker 2: He wants to open up our eyes, and he wants

  Speaker 2: us to see exactly what's going on and see the
• 22:42
  Speaker 2: city of Laya to sea. It was known for their wealth.

  Speaker 2: They had black wool and medical eye salf. Now Jesus

  Speaker 2: flips this script on him and says, hey, come to

  Speaker 2: me for what really matters. Right, Like I said, he

  Speaker 2: is the becoming one. He is the one that we

  Speaker 2: need to pursue and seek. Now, let us go to

  Speaker 2: verse nineteen. As many as I love, I rebuke in chasing. Therefore,

  Speaker 2: be zealous a repent. As I said before, repentance is

  Speaker 2: a gift and the fact that you're being corrected or
• 23:19
  Speaker 2: rebuked is a sign that Jesus loves you. We need
• 23:23
  Speaker 2: to be encouraged. Correction is that proof. See, God will

  Speaker 2: not chasing, he will not chastise, he will not spank
• 23:32
  Speaker 2: somebody else's child. He will deal with his own children.

  Speaker 2: And Jesus isn't giving up. He's calling them back, right,

  Speaker 2: He's called them back that part. Don't take that correction

  Speaker 2: as if it's rejection. God disciplines his children because he
• 23:55
  Speaker 2: loves them. Don't ignore the conviction of the Holy spirit.

  Speaker 2: outside of his own church. Now come on, now, that's

  Speaker 2: that's crazy. How can you be knocking to get into

  Speaker 2: your own church? Now he's knocking to be let in

  Speaker 2: a tragic picture of spiritual exclusion. They excluded Jesus. Imagine this,

  Speaker 2: We're having church and Jesus he's not even invited, Like

  Speaker 2: that's an oxymoron, And he's knocking at the door of

  Speaker 2: your heart today, the question is will you all up?

  Speaker 2: Will you open? And it's sad to say that there's

  Speaker 2: many churches out there where Jesus is not even a

  Speaker 2: part of. He's not even invited. He's not even a

  Speaker 2: thought these people are. They have like some type of

  Speaker 2: social club or something like that is not the church.

  Speaker 2: The bride of Christ all right, twenty two and twenty one.

  Speaker 2: To whom to him, to him whom overcomes, I will

  Speaker 2: grant to sit with me on my throne. Now here's

  Speaker 2: that group, the overcomers. We talked about that in the
