- 1:01Speaker 2: Wednesday morning, Well, the Cracking are getting closer here to
- 1:04Speaker 2: full health and a full roster before we.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Get to matters.
- 1:07Speaker 2: On that end, the Crack and Monday Night paid their
- 1:10Speaker 2: only visit of the regular season into Madison Square Garden
- 1:14Speaker 2: and under the spotlight a Broadway, we're fully embracing of
- 1:18Speaker 2: the mission to rally in another wild ride storybooks fashion.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Spinning it up the right side of the cann dropping
- 1:26Speaker 4: it back for right. In this plays that here's Krrick
- 1:28Speaker 4: left circle shooting. He scores two quick goals by the Rangers.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Spell the first part of this game and be fourteen
- 1:45Speaker 5: twenty nine to go in the first period. It was
- 1:49Speaker 5: Sam Carrick beating Philip Krubauer Klean from the left circle
- 1:54Speaker 5: at the blockers side for his.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Second goal this season, and the cracking out of the
- 1:59Speaker 4: Rangers tune up.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Kracking now counter Freddie Gudrou left winging of the zone,
- 2:02Speaker 2: passing up for Tobinen.
- 2:03Speaker 6: He scoress.
- 2:07Speaker 7: The Kracking get what they want and early second period goal.
- 2:11Speaker 4: They're back in the game. Goco on the walkout, centering
- 2:14Speaker 4: for Everly, he shoots.
- 2:16Speaker 8: He scorns a pier snipe by the Captain toward in
- 2:23Speaker 8: Everley with fifteen thirty three to go in period two
- 2:27Speaker 8: ties this game.
- 2:28Speaker 7: From between the circles his team leading sixteenth of the year,
- 2:33Speaker 7: kracking two Rangers.
- 2:35Speaker 9: Two well Matty Veneers and Coppoccko.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Do some great work below the goal line.
- 2:39Speaker 9: Puckets behind the back of the nets of Coppocaco frum Veneers.
- 2:42Speaker 9: He sets up, finds every hid the slot, every toe
- 2:46Speaker 9: drags that goes, gloves sive under the bar on Jonathan Quick.
- 2:50Speaker 5: The game's tied to two, covering Shane right onto the
- 2:53Speaker 5: red line stop by its road check.
- 2:55Speaker 4: McCann's air floats a pass.
- 2:57Speaker 7: In deep as lind bred a cross for Swart Saint
- 2:59Speaker 7: Mayby Quick right down.
- 3:00Speaker 8: They stall.
- 3:04Speaker 7: But krack and crashed the nuts was seven fifty four
- 3:07Speaker 7: to go in period three. Persley Catton was involved. Shane
- 3:13Speaker 7: right first.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Out of the pile.
- 3:15Speaker 7: That might be his goal and the Cracking lead for
- 3:18Speaker 7: the first time this evening at three to two. Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 9: It was Berkeley cat on the back door that received
- 3:24Speaker 9: the pass and tried to put it pass Quick. He
- 3:27Speaker 9: got it into the blue paint area, but Quick made
- 3:29Speaker 9: a save with his left pad. It was righted and
- 3:33Speaker 9: followed the puck up and shoved it home.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Three two Crack and.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Crack and change and wholesale here comes Gafcott the center
- 3:39Speaker 5: rice grade two cracking lead, but can't take it away.
- 3:42Speaker 8: He suits he Staress Cheron ma Jan empty that goal
- 3:48Speaker 8: to seal it up eight point six seconds left in
- 3:52Speaker 8: period three, mcracking lead four to two.
- 3:55Speaker 9: What great pressure by McCann ran the red line to
- 3:58Speaker 9: cause that puck to get turned over. He gets his
- 4:00Speaker 9: head up, he puts it all the way down the
- 4:02Speaker 9: ice inside the right post.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Four two cracking.
- 4:05Speaker 9: Well, how do you do?
- 4:06Speaker 3: Four unanswered goals?
- 4:07Speaker 2: Helping to take care of the job as a Kraken,
- 4:09Speaker 2: winning at Madison Square Garden in their last two trips
- 4:13Speaker 2: and successfully avenging a three to two overtime loss of
- 4:16Speaker 2: the Rangers at home earlier this season. They beat the
- 4:19Speaker 2: Rangers four two Monday, improving to nine to one and
- 4:23Speaker 2: two in the last twelve games. Jordan Everley getting back
- 4:27Speaker 2: into the lineup, of course, tied things up in period two.
- 4:29Speaker 2: He leaves the Kraken with sixteen goals on the season
- 4:32Speaker 2: and the game winning goal originally given to Shane Wright
- 4:36Speaker 2: and that pile up was changed to Berkeley Caton, giving
- 4:39Speaker 2: him four goals in four games. Here's a reaction with
- 4:43Speaker 2: Ebery after the game. Has he met with the media
- 4:46Speaker 2: at MSG.
- 4:47Speaker 10: We I mean obviously started a little slow down, put
- 4:50Speaker 10: ourselves on hold, but we started playing, start fighting back
- 4:54Speaker 10: obviously like our second or like or third, like the
- 4:56Speaker 10: lou finish it off so well, keep going.
- 4:58Speaker 11: Guys, say anything in particular first intermission about about that
- 5:02Speaker 11: first period and where to go from there.
- 5:03Speaker 10: No, I think you know, we just weren't skating. We
- 5:05Speaker 10: weren't you know, executing, biggest thing for me. We're missing
- 5:08Speaker 10: passes and they were kind of moving it by us.
- 5:10Speaker 10: You know, obviously the way that they had the last
- 5:12Speaker 10: game they had, we knew they were gonna come out
- 5:15Speaker 10: and we were a little slow. We was, uh, you know,
- 5:17Speaker 10: Grooby stud in his head after that, and we found
- 5:18Speaker 10: a way to find some offense.
- 5:20Speaker 11: Layne was talking this morning about how Cockle gets behind
- 5:24Speaker 11: the net down low, does that kind of work. What
- 5:26Speaker 11: do you think of his work on your goal?
- 5:28Speaker 10: Yeah, he did a good good play. I think Maddy
- 5:30Speaker 10: found him, went east west to him, and then he
- 5:32Speaker 10: did a good job finding me in the slot. And
- 5:34Speaker 10: it's always nice to see the puck in the nets.
- 5:36Speaker 10: So you know, what can you keep doing that?
- 5:40Speaker 11: We haven't talked to him much lately about Canton from
- 5:43Speaker 11: your point of view, what did what did you see
- 5:45Speaker 11: from him? And again tonight, you know he's playing pretty
- 5:47Speaker 11: pretty well right around the net, not just with his skill.
- 5:50Speaker 10: Yeah, I think, I mean for the most part all year,
- 5:52Speaker 10: he's he's played well. He's created a lot of offense,
- 5:55Speaker 10: he's made little players, He's had tons of chances. You know,
- 5:59Speaker 10: I think it was probably tough tomber relief for him
- 6:01Speaker 10: the first one to go in and then the second
- 6:03Speaker 10: one right away, and you know after that he's kind
- 6:05Speaker 10: of been rolling. So you know, I think he had
- 6:08Speaker 10: a bit of a monkey counts back. I guess you
- 6:09Speaker 10: could say it that, And but he's just the more
- 6:12Speaker 10: you create, the more chances you're gonna have an opportunity.
- 6:14Speaker 10: And he's uh, he's got all the tools. He's just
- 6:17Speaker 10: gonn continue to get better.
- 6:18Speaker 12: What's the feeling around the team recently?
- 6:20Speaker 13: Guys are eight one and two in your last eleven
- 6:24Speaker 13: Just you know what is and what what do you
- 6:25Speaker 13: think has has changed?
- 6:26Speaker 14: Is something changed?
- 6:28Speaker 10: We're playing good hockey. I think you know, our goaltending
- 6:31Speaker 10: has been great. I've had contributions up and down the lineup,
- 6:34Speaker 10: starting to get bodies back Shortz. He's back. I mean
- 6:36Speaker 10: we've had a ton of injuries, and not just injuries,
- 6:39Speaker 10: but guys who play significant minutes. So starting to get
- 6:42Speaker 10: a little bit healthy and just keep rolling. I think
- 6:44Speaker 10: you know we're a gritty team. I think you know
- 6:46Speaker 10: we've we get good goal thing, we defend well, and
- 6:49Speaker 10: you know, if we can do that on a night
- 6:50Speaker 10: to night basis, we're gonna have a chance to win
- 6:52Speaker 10: most nights. And that's the key that Like on.
- 6:55Speaker 4: The on the play that led to the game, the
- 6:58Speaker 4: type breaking goal by right.
- 6:59Speaker 9: It scrambled in front.
- 7:00Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, great play by Lynn Clindy getting it
- 7:03Speaker 10: over there. I don't know if Caton missed it or
- 7:06Speaker 10: what happened, but I mean they stuck with it, put
- 7:08Speaker 10: it in the.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Crack and got back to work apt practice on Tuesday,
- 7:12Speaker 2: getting more order back in store here for their lineup.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Chandler Stevenson out last two games, of course, he and
- 7:18Speaker 2: wife Tasha welcoming their third child into the world. He's
- 7:21Speaker 2: now back with the team, and Brandon on tour moved
- 7:24Speaker 2: out of the red non contact jersey into a regular
- 7:28Speaker 2: sweater as well, and that deeming Oscar Fisker moulguard better
- 7:31Speaker 2: fit right now for the AHL, he was sent back
- 7:34Speaker 2: to coach Ell Valley with Stevenson.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Looking like he's ready to go.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Here's that Coach Lane Lambert meeting with the media after
- 7:41Speaker 2: practice on Tuesday.
- 7:42Speaker 11: Chandler's back, Yeah, looking good and maybe he looks like
- 7:45Speaker 11: you probably in their lineup to right. Yeah, and then Martin,
- 7:49Speaker 11: no red jersey.
- 7:50Speaker 13: He's prove well, there wasn't really any contact in practice today,
- 7:53Speaker 13: so there wasn't any point in putting them in a
- 7:55Speaker 13: red jersey. But certainly he's making improvements every day.
- 8:00Speaker 11: Couple of guys, so thinking about your thoughts. One is
- 8:04Speaker 11: Swartz back and what he brings to the game, not
- 8:06Speaker 11: necessarily under scoreesheet, but across the board.
- 8:09Speaker 13: Well, you can you know, you can argue he was
- 8:11Speaker 13: probably our best, most consistent forward before he got hurt,
- 8:15Speaker 13: leading our team in points when he went down. But
- 8:18Speaker 13: he brings an element of all facets to the to
- 8:23Speaker 13: the team, and you know, including leadership. Leadership by example,
- 8:26Speaker 13: plays in any special team. He wanted to play on
- 8:29Speaker 13: netfunt presence. So he's certainly we missed him and we're
- 8:33Speaker 13: happy to have him back.
- 8:34Speaker 11: He talked about him off the ice as well, which
- 8:36Speaker 11: is great to have him back in the locker room.
- 8:38Speaker 11: He's seems like a quiet person to some vans, but
- 8:42Speaker 11: I don't think he is with his teammates.
- 8:45Speaker 14: Uh.
- 8:45Speaker 13: Yeah, He's one of those guys. He's an experienced guy
- 8:50Speaker 13: who has a lot of knowledge and when he speaks,
- 8:54Speaker 13: they listen. Uh, you know, just kind of one of
- 8:57Speaker 13: those type of people and always has a lot of wisdom,
- 9:01Speaker 13: especially for our younger players. Who's been a great mentor
- 9:05Speaker 13: so far for some of our younger guys.
- 9:06Speaker 11: Speaking of younger guys, we talked a little bit about
- 9:09Speaker 11: him being in net with Cat last night. Your take
- 9:11Speaker 11: on the way Shane's been playing lately.
- 9:13Speaker 13: Shane, Yeah, Yeah, I like Shane lately. You know, I
- 9:17Speaker 13: just feel like he's got some more confidence. But he's
- 9:23Speaker 13: competing hard, you know, and he needs to continue to
- 9:27Speaker 13: do so. You know, obviously he can skate, you know,
- 9:32Speaker 13: he got that breakaway last night when McCann made a
- 9:34Speaker 13: you know, an elite play to him on the flip.
- 9:38Speaker 13: You know, we need him to use his legs, own
- 9:40Speaker 13: pucks and have that confidence.
- 9:43Speaker 11: Got a healthier group. You've mentioned this earlier this season,
- 9:46Speaker 11: and it's kind of a good problem to have that
- 9:47Speaker 11: you have guys that will have to be a scratch
- 9:50Speaker 11: even though they're they're playing well. How do you sort
- 9:52Speaker 11: of balance that with the next two games being back
- 9:54Speaker 11: to back.
- 9:55Speaker 13: Well, you take it one at a time. So we'll
- 9:59Speaker 13: see where we're at and set our lineup for tomorrow
- 10:02Speaker 13: and then we'll deal with the Boston game, you know,
- 10:05Speaker 13: when that comes. But certainly, you know, there is some
- 10:09Speaker 13: healthy bodies, uh and we have, you know, some numbers
- 10:13Speaker 13: and some people that maybe we can put in some
- 10:14Speaker 13: fresh legs.
- 10:16Speaker 11: Last one facing a team that won on the road
- 10:19Speaker 11: the other night, but they were kind of over four
- 10:23Speaker 11: after that. I mean to kind of up and down.
- 10:25Speaker 11: What's your take and what you're going to see tomorrow
- 10:27Speaker 11: night from the Devils.
- 10:29Speaker 13: We're going to see a team that's fast, skilled, highly competitive,
- 10:33Speaker 13: you know, and it's it's tough. The league is is
- 10:38Speaker 13: extremely difficult, and you know, it's it's a it's a
- 10:42Speaker 13: league that if you get on the wrong side of
- 10:43Speaker 13: a couple of games, all of a sudden, you lose
- 10:45Speaker 13: three or four in a row. And you know, we've
- 10:47Speaker 13: experienced that. We don't want to experience it again, you know,
- 10:50Speaker 13: and I think almost every team has except for probably Colorado,
- 10:55Speaker 13: you know, so Jack Hughes, you know, they've got to
- 11:00Speaker 13: you know, Luke on the back end. They're highly talented.
- 11:04Speaker 13: Nico Heischer takes the most face offs in the league
- 11:06Speaker 13: pretty much every year, you know. And so they're a
- 11:11Speaker 13: hockey team that I've seen a lot of being in
- 11:12Speaker 13: this conference, a highly skilled team that plays well at home.
- 11:15Speaker 13: We're gonna have to be ready and we're gonna have
- 11:16Speaker 13: to be ready to play fast.
- 11:17Speaker 2: So we'll keep an eye on Montor's progress with the
- 11:20Speaker 2: Krack and not skating on Wednesday morning ahead of the
- 11:22Speaker 2: game against New Jersey, and their eyes right now on
- 11:25Speaker 2: this Devil's matchup, trying to keep pace in what is
- 11:28Speaker 2: a very chaotic Western Conference playoff picture. And yet through
- 11:32Speaker 2: forty four games, the Kraken waking up today as a
- 11:35Speaker 2: playoff team, clear of the cut line by just two points,
- 11:39Speaker 2: but yet are only four points out of first place
- 11:42Speaker 2: in the Pacific Division. We talked about their place in
- 11:45Speaker 2: the playoff, mix, trade, target possibilities, and more on Crack
- 11:49Speaker 2: and Weekly with Arta Ocal of ESPN, And here's more.
- 11:53Speaker 6: Of that shats I mean from my twenty thousand foot view.
- 11:56Speaker 6: Obviously to the listeners, I'm not as dialed in you
- 12:00Speaker 6: Mike and you Everett on a day to day basis
- 12:03Speaker 6: with the team. But I mean, even I'm looking at
- 12:06Speaker 6: the team stats right now, Like I'm not being rude
- 12:09Speaker 6: when I say this, but this doesn't look like a
- 12:11Speaker 6: team that's third in the Pacific. When I'm looking at
- 12:13Speaker 6: their point totals right they're among the lowest scoring teams
- 12:16Speaker 6: in the league. But also on this win streak, they've
- 12:20Speaker 6: allowed among the lowest goals per game. And Philip Grubauer
- 12:25Speaker 6: has been incredible in this stretch. I was looking this up.
- 12:30Speaker 6: In eight of his last nine games, he's posted north
- 12:32Speaker 6: of nine hundred save percentage, and like his save percentage
- 12:35Speaker 6: is incredible. They're getting that depth contributions even though it's
- 12:40Speaker 6: not like high volume numbers.
- 12:42Speaker 12: Like, don't compare their numbers to Colorado.
- 12:45Speaker 6: I don't think any teams should compare their numbers to Colorado,
- 12:47Speaker 6: but particularly Seattle here like.
- 12:49Speaker 15: They are from a different planet.
- 12:51Speaker 6: Man, Yeah, they really are, Like they they're a whole
- 12:55Speaker 6: conversation onto themselves.
- 12:56Speaker 12: But in terms of Seattle, like the Western Conference certainly.
- 13:01Speaker 6: Has a gap between the good teams and the not
- 13:05Speaker 6: so good teams, and that's starting to form even more
- 13:08Speaker 6: as the season progresses, unlike the Eastern Conference, and so
- 13:12Speaker 6: I feel like Seattle has really made a case for
- 13:15Speaker 6: themselves to be a playoff contending team, which is very
- 13:19Speaker 6: encouraging to see because we're what year where you're four
- 13:23Speaker 6: now with the Krakens, so five year five, So this
- 13:26Speaker 6: would be a great year to you know, revisit that
- 13:30Speaker 6: one magical playoff win against the Avalanche right in Game seven,
- 13:35Speaker 6: So it would be it would be nice to see
- 13:37Speaker 6: Seattle back in the postseason.
- 13:39Speaker 14: There were a lot of people when Leiy Lambert was
- 13:41Speaker 14: hired that, you know, kind of raise their eyebrow about
- 13:45Speaker 14: the hiring the defensive coach, a guy that even though
- 13:48Speaker 14: we made the playoffs on Long Island, uh, you know,
- 13:52Speaker 14: a lot of folks didn't didn't like this higher. But
- 13:54Speaker 14: now I think are starting to eat their words a
- 13:56Speaker 14: little bit. When you saw the hiring of Leilee Lambert,
- 14:00Speaker 14: what was your first thought, and just from again your
- 14:04Speaker 14: twenty thousand foot view, how have you felt about the
- 14:07Speaker 14: job that he's done coaching this team given the pieces
- 14:10Speaker 14: that they have.
- 14:11Speaker 6: So that was the defensive minded structure was the first
- 14:14Speaker 6: thing I thought of. Now you tell me, you correct
- 14:17Speaker 6: me if I'm wrong here. When I was watching cracking
- 14:19Speaker 6: games before Lane Lambert, it felt like the team was
- 14:23Speaker 6: giving up more opportunities in the slot, Like teams were
- 14:27Speaker 6: able to get into the slot a lot easier, get
- 14:30Speaker 6: shots on groupaur and.
- 14:32Speaker 14: Whatever your advanced stat metric is. Shots per danger Yes
- 14:38Speaker 14: on a Tuesday, like we led. We led that category
- 14:41Speaker 14: a lot in danger shots dangered.
- 14:46Speaker 12: Yes, massive danger, super dangerous.
- 14:51Speaker 14: Danger per sixty shots, we were in the top.
- 14:56Speaker 12: Yeah, that's our new stat.
- 14:57Speaker 6: The sound the alarm shots led in those chances unfortunately.
- 15:03Speaker 12: Yes, please do.
- 15:04Speaker 6: But but now, look, I haven't watched every second of
- 15:08Speaker 6: every game of the wind Streak, but in the highlights
- 15:11Speaker 6: that I'm seeing, like certain shifts, I'm noticing that the
- 15:14Speaker 6: Kraken are are doing their best and succeeding in many
- 15:18Speaker 6: cases to keep those opportunities to the walls, to keep
- 15:22Speaker 6: those opportunities to the outside.
- 15:24Speaker 12: So there's a lot less of those five.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Alarm bell def con one chances. So that's that's been very,
- 15:31Speaker 6: very helpful. And then when you have a goalie like Philip, like, look,
- 15:34Speaker 6: let's be honest, like goaltending is still to me the
- 15:37Speaker 6: most important position, right, you get good goaltending. That goalie
- 15:40Speaker 6: is going to keep you in games like so, I
- 15:46Speaker 6: mean we're talking about like the Kraken yesterday against the Rangers,
- 15:50Speaker 6: right like the Rangers could have used that in the
- 15:53Speaker 6: second and third period, right like they So, so I
- 15:57Speaker 6: would say that that to me, that the defensive minded
- 16:01Speaker 6: structure was the first thing that came to mind with
- 16:04Speaker 6: Lane Lambert. And look, this is a good sample size
- 16:06Speaker 6: and this is a good example of a team winning
- 16:09Speaker 6: based on that.
- 16:10Speaker 12: So you got to give him credit for that.
- 16:12Speaker 2: After the crack and went up three to Berkeley, Katon
- 16:15Speaker 2: had that game winning goal. Of my goodness, now four
- 16:17Speaker 2: goals and four games now for the nineteen year old rookie.
- 16:20Speaker 2: But I couldn't really make out of it from my
- 16:24Speaker 2: earpiece as I was calling the game on radio. But
- 16:26Speaker 2: I found out later the chance got louder and the
- 16:30Speaker 2: chants were fired. Drury, how much more troubled did the
- 16:35Speaker 2: Kraken put the Rangers in after last night's game?
- 16:38Speaker 6: So I'll point to a tweet that Stan Fischler put out.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Stan Fischler, as we all know, one of the legends
- 16:44Speaker 6: in hockey coverage. He's written like one hundred books. He
- 16:48Speaker 6: before the Kraken game. After the ten to two loss
- 16:51Speaker 6: to Boston on Saturday, he said, this is the game
- 16:55Speaker 6: to me, that is the do or die game for
- 16:59Speaker 6: the for the Rangers. And in fact, in his tweet
- 17:01Speaker 6: he said a loss equals ignomini, which in itself is
- 17:07Speaker 6: a is a great word to use.
- 17:09Speaker 12: Shout out to stand.
- 17:10Speaker 6: But essentially the season is over in his eyes if
- 17:15Speaker 6: the Rangers lose to the Kraken, and by the way,
- 17:18Speaker 6: they go up to nothing in the first period and
- 17:21Speaker 6: then things look pretty rosy.
- 17:23Speaker 12: Mika's a Bandajad is on a re bounce back.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Yes, there's injuries with Fox and Shasturkin for the Rangers,
- 17:29Speaker 6: but then to lose the way that they did, you know,
- 17:33Speaker 6: now you're asking questions about what what kind of team
- 17:37Speaker 6: are they going to be at the trade deadline? Are
- 17:39Speaker 6: we going to see a player like Artemi Panarin in
- 17:41Speaker 6: a different sweater by the end of the season. Would
- 17:44Speaker 6: a guy like Artemi Paneren look great in the Kracken jersey?
- 17:47Speaker 12: Oh good, that's a you know what?
- 17:49Speaker 6: But like seriously, like that, yeah, I'm thinking about shutting
- 17:53Speaker 6: down the season for the Rangers.
- 17:55Speaker 14: I mean, listen, people love to say the Kraken don't
- 17:58Speaker 14: have a superstar. They're not sex I mean, I don't
- 18:00Speaker 14: know if you look at available players it gets any
- 18:03Speaker 14: sexier than our Timmy Veneran when I got one for you, Uh,
- 18:09Speaker 14: I got one for you. So yesterday Columbus makes what
- 18:13Speaker 14: I thought was a surprising coaching change with Dean Everson
- 18:17Speaker 14: uh leaving and Rick Bones coming in. Where do you
- 18:21Speaker 14: feel this puts Columbus because I know, again it's not
- 18:25Speaker 14: been the season that they wanted. Currently at the bottom
- 18:29Speaker 14: of the East, but again still only seven points back
- 18:33Speaker 14: of a playoff spot. What did you make of Rick
- 18:36Speaker 14: Bones coming off of TNT and back to a bench
- 18:40Speaker 14: in the NHL.
- 18:42Speaker 12: Well, he's a great hockey mind. We all know that.
- 18:43Speaker 6: I mean a lot of people are going to point
- 18:45Speaker 6: to the age, right, that's going to be that. I mean,
- 18:48Speaker 6: we just went through this with the University of Michigan,
- 18:50Speaker 6: right he was he was a sixty six year old coach.
- 18:52Speaker 12: Everyone days, Kyle exactly rising on that. So I get it.
- 18:57Speaker 6: But at the same time, you know, like I appreciate
- 19:01Speaker 6: the change. I would be shocked if we don't see
- 19:05Speaker 6: maybe even one or two more, certainly in the East
- 19:08Speaker 6: like that. That's definitely that's a conference that those teams
- 19:11Speaker 6: all feel like they have a chance, you know, And
- 19:14Speaker 6: let's be honest with Buffalo for example, when when Yarmo
- 19:17Speaker 6: Kekel is speaking of Columbus, when Yarmo keke a line
- 19:19Speaker 6: and got hired, right, the next place that people were
- 19:21Speaker 6: looking immediately was Lindy rough Well that all of a sudden,
- 19:25Speaker 6: you go on a ten game heater, and then you
- 19:27Speaker 6: lose one game, and then you're back on a three
- 19:29Speaker 6: or four game heater. Ever, and then suddenly your job
- 19:32Speaker 6: is secure. And I talked with John Toroderella about this
- 19:34Speaker 6: all the time, Like he always stresses how volatile that.
- 19:38Speaker 6: I mean, it's obvious to us on the outside looking
- 19:40Speaker 6: in how volatile these jobs are. But even like he
- 19:43Speaker 6: stresses often about how you know, when you're in that
- 19:46Speaker 6: pressure cooker, it's tough not to think about it and
- 19:49Speaker 6: put it aside, especially when everyone has you under a
- 19:53Speaker 6: microscope and you're constantly every single thing you do is scrutinized,
- 19:57Speaker 6: especially in bigger in larger markets, right, so you're always
- 20:02Speaker 6: under that microscope, especially in the coaching job, Like the
- 20:05Speaker 6: turnover is so high it takes one losing streak and
- 20:09Speaker 6: suddenly you're you know, possibly out of a job.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Arta, Okay, I'll joining us right now on the Beacon
- 20:15Speaker 2: Plumbing hotline here on Cracking Weekly, Arta, we talked about
- 20:18Speaker 2: parody off the top and still a lot to get
- 20:22Speaker 2: sorted out right around the Olympic break and then after
- 20:25Speaker 2: there's a trade freeze as well, and what kind of
- 20:27Speaker 2: lead into more of this kind of like in a
- 20:29Speaker 2: gradual pace, but beginning with here at this point, do
- 20:33Speaker 2: you see this either potentially as a buyer's or a
- 20:37Speaker 2: seller's market at trade deadline time?
- 20:41Speaker 6: Oh, I think there's going to be well at the
- 20:44Speaker 6: at the actual trade deadline, it might be quiet, simply
- 20:47Speaker 6: because simply because the gms will have so much time
- 20:51Speaker 6: throughout the entire month to make deals. So I don't
- 20:57Speaker 6: know if we're going to have record amounts of trade
- 21:00Speaker 6: even trade deadline week. I think it's gonna be as
- 21:03Speaker 6: a slow drip. I think we're gonna see a lot
- 21:05Speaker 6: of movement during the Olympics. So it's like for US
- 21:09Speaker 6: media types it's gonna be oh, what a team USA
- 21:12Speaker 6: do today? And by the way, there was also this
- 21:14Speaker 6: trade actually which would make for some funny It would
- 21:18Speaker 6: actually make for some funny like what if like players
- 21:20Speaker 6: on the Olympic teams are suddenly like teammates or not
- 21:24Speaker 6: teammates anymore, Like that'll make for some funny dynamics, right.
- 21:27Speaker 14: I was just about to ask, Mike, you said it
- 21:30Speaker 14: last week, I don't have it in front of me.
- 21:32Speaker 14: When is that trade freeze? And does it extend through
- 21:37Speaker 14: the games? Like could we see the morning of the
- 21:40Speaker 14: gold medal game Brady Kachuk being traded for someone or
- 21:46Speaker 14: you know what I mean, like, like, what what what
- 21:48Speaker 14: is the what's that date?
- 21:52Speaker 15: February fourth? I want to say begins a roster freeze?
- 21:55Speaker 14: Yeah, okay, because I'm just curious, because you're right, Arda,
- 22:01Speaker 14: that would be that would be fascinating if you're going
- 22:04Speaker 14: into the gold medal game and you score on someone
- 22:08Speaker 14: and you guys are on the same plane back.
- 22:12Speaker 15: It also ends on the twenty second of February.
- 22:14Speaker 6: Okay, Okay, So so so that yeah, then then it
- 22:16Speaker 6: wouldn't happen. But no, I still believe that there the
- 22:20Speaker 6: ten seconds, Yeah exactly. I still feel like the GMS
- 22:24Speaker 6: are in the mode to like, let me put it
- 22:28Speaker 6: this way. Then, with that in mind, February twenty third,
- 22:31Speaker 6: I wouldn't be surprised if like three or four trades
- 22:33Speaker 6: were announced, Like gms will just be thinking and talking
- 22:37Speaker 6: and all of a sudden, you know, the Central Registry
- 22:40Speaker 6: is going to have like a lineup of like twenty
- 22:43Speaker 6: five items that they have to look through for something like.
- 22:46Speaker 14: That, because no one, no one could stop.
- 22:49Speaker 15: A Monday morning, right.
- 22:51Speaker 6: Yeah, that's not an embargo, right, Like, it's not like
- 22:54Speaker 6: a it's not illegal for the gms to talk during
- 22:57Speaker 6: the freeze.
- 22:57Speaker 12: It's just they can't make trades. Right.
- 23:00Speaker 15: Part of the.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Intrigue with the Crack and Roster has always been when
- 23:06Speaker 2: are they going to add a top line, elite superstar
- 23:10Speaker 2: presence up front? And now they've always been working to
- 23:13Speaker 2: try to see, you know, can Maddy Beniers fit that?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Bill could Shane right maybe pop into something like that
- 23:18Speaker 2: down the road. And you have Berkeley Katon who's just
- 23:21Speaker 2: nineteen years of age, eighth overall pick could he be there?
- 23:24Speaker 2: And then even a guy like Jack O'Brien back at
- 23:26Speaker 2: the OHL. So I'm giving him David crazy comparisons. But
- 23:29Speaker 2: still there's always the allure and the intrigue of potentially
- 23:33Speaker 2: finding a piece via trade. Now we've heard our Timmy
- 23:37Speaker 2: Panaren's name out there, We've heard Alex Tuck's name out there,
- 23:40Speaker 2: we've heard Ryan O'Reilly's name out there, and the capit
- 23:43Speaker 2: really isn't that big compared to some other players. But
- 23:46Speaker 2: is there a name that really intrigues you the most
- 23:49Speaker 2: who could be moved here in the oncoming weeks upfront?
- 23:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I like Everett's thought about a superstar, someone who's
- 23:56Speaker 6: a top line scorer. Paneren would fit that bit for sure. Like,
- 24:01Speaker 6: at at their best, the krack and operate like four
- 24:06Speaker 6: second third lines, right like, like they have the depth,
- 24:09Speaker 6: like at when they are at their best, they they
- 24:14Speaker 6: and that's good for you know, a playoff run.
- 24:17Speaker 12: If they operate at their on paper, at their best,
- 24:21Speaker 12: you're not top heavy.
- 24:23Speaker 6: Yeah, they're not top heavy and they have good distribution
- 24:26Speaker 6: and depth, which is what you need to win championships.
- 24:28Speaker 12: Everybody knows that. But yeah, I would.
- 24:31Speaker 6: Say two top line goal scorers to add to that
- 24:35Speaker 6: team would be extremely beneficial.
- 24:38Speaker 3: All right, big thank you to Urta.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Okay again, that conversation in full Hurd on Crack and
- 24:43Speaker 2: Weekly podcast right now via the iHeartRadio app and from
- 24:47Speaker 2: the Crack And Audio Network. Go ahead, and check it out.
- 24:50Speaker 2: They're great to have art of Okal from ESPN joining
- 24:53Speaker 2: us here well. The Crack are now getting their focus
- 24:56Speaker 2: setting for game one of two this season against New Jersey.
- 25:00Speaker 2: They get a Devil's team right now with just three
- 25:02Speaker 2: wins in their last ten games and going through a
- 25:04Speaker 2: bit of roster turmoil on their own, with defenseman Dougie
- 25:08Speaker 2: Hamilton the subject of reported trade talks. Despite that, the
- 25:12Speaker 2: Devils beat the Wild last came out five to two
- 25:15Speaker 2: in the Kraken right now based on a New Jersey
- 25:17Speaker 2: team that has beaten them in New Jersey in every
- 25:20Speaker 2: matchup in franchise history, so quite the challenge coming ahead.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Matty Beneers comes into this game right now for the
- 25:27Speaker 2: Krake in side riding the hot hand. He's got a
- 25:29Speaker 2: five game point streak in hand, which put him into
- 25:32Speaker 2: a type for the Kraken scoring lead with Jordan Eberley
- 25:36Speaker 2: On the Devil's side, Jasper Bratt leads them thirty six
- 25:39Speaker 2: points and the Kraken we'll see Jack Hughes for the
- 25:42Speaker 2: first time this season.
- 25:44Speaker 3: He's stung them more than anybody.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Else on this Devil's roster all time with seven points
- 25:50Speaker 2: in six games against the Krakens, so definitely he is
- 25:53Speaker 2: at the top of defensive matters at hand for this one.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Looking forward to having you once again airtime.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I'm three point thirty and reserves Hashia back in Network Central,
- 26:03Speaker 2: I'll be joined by Al Koniski of course here for
- 26:05Speaker 2: the call with Everett on the TV side for this
- 26:08Speaker 2: evening Pug dropping little past four pm Pacific time front
- 26:12Speaker 2: Crudential Center, opening back to back games with a Kraken
- 26:15Speaker 2: shuffling and shipping up to Boston after this one for
- 26:20Speaker 2: a game at TD Garden on Thursday. Big thank you
- 26:23Speaker 2: again to Arta Ocal for joining us and for Kracken
- 26:26Speaker 2: this morning.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I'm Mike Benton. Have a happy Wednesday and enjoy the game.
- 26:29Speaker 1: You're home for the Kraken. Sports Radio ninety three point
- 26:33Speaker 1: three kJ R FM.
