- 0:13We've selected our golden Valentine, somebody who's just had an incredible love story that
- 0:17we wanted to feature during Valentine's and you guys have been selected. You were
- 0:20nominated by your daughter, Doreen, who's here in the room. Hello during
- 0:23Oh so sweet. So how long have you guys been married? Fifty two
- 0:26years? Sixty two? You will be sixty three May twenty seventh of this
- 0:31Wow, well congratulations And Wayne, how old are you? Idiot? But
- 0:35not just eighty eight? Wayne, on the way in you said young young
- 0:39age. Absolutely are boy. Hey, we got photos from your daughter last
- 0:43night. You guys were having a little kind of pre game, right,
- 0:45you gotta having a beer or two little champagne. Well, oh, champagne,
- 0:49champagne. This is I mean, this is a big deal. And
- 0:52Joanne, how old are you? Well? I will be eighty four on
- 0:55February twenty second. Tell us let's go back to the beginning. You guys
- 0:58have been married sixty two years. How long were you together before you got
- 1:00married? We met December fourth, nineteen fifty died. Okay, remember the
- 1:04day even? Wow? Well it was at a Christmas party for a darter
- 1:08of king of the company down in Minneapolis. Is it where you were working?
- 1:12No? I but I had worked there three different winners and a friend
- 1:15of mine and that I should come to the party because they's a good look
- 1:19at girls. Oh right, so you were a plus one just scoping out
- 1:25the ladies. Huh yeah, and somebody caught your eye. Well I was
- 1:30supposed to be one lady one yell there, but she didn't show up.
- 1:33So, oh no, I got stood up. Well he didn't. Oh
- 1:40she didn't. She didn't know I was supposed to be there. Oh so
- 1:44you were kind of like at that time. I carried a bunch of insult
- 1:49cards. Insult cards, you know, like you'll go down in history like
- 1:53another gallon of water over n your falls. So these were cards. So
- 1:59you can't sell people, So just in case you needed insult, somebody had
- 2:02a start a conversation. I had to Joanne one. Oh wait, I
- 2:07have no idea what it said. The night went well, you guys got
- 2:10to know each other, and then from there it was true love. Or
- 2:13wise it must have been from there. Although I have to laugh because the
- 2:19first time he took me to meet his parents some time later, and I
- 2:23don't know how much later. And I had a very sweet mother in law,
- 2:27I have to say, because I read all these mother in law stories,
- 2:30they get a bad wrap, don't. Mother said to me, you
- 2:32know, she said, I couldn't remember your name, but I thought,
- 2:35oh, well, I'll probably never see her again. Wayne. Were you
- 2:39a ladies, ma'am? It sounds like it. I just brought girls home
- 2:44to see mother. Oh, gotcha, just to kind of see what happened.
- 2:51Do you remember your first date? Did you take her out shortly after
- 2:53that after meeting her at the company party? Actually, our first date got
- 2:59cancers? Oh man? Why was the first aid canceled? I had gone
- 3:04out the night before with someone else, another man, well, I think
- 3:09he was he married my girlfriend eventually, oh my god. And we had
- 3:16gone to a couple of bars, and they served food at some of them,
- 3:20and I know I didn't have much to drink, because I know when
- 3:23I've hid too much. Of course you do, yes. The next morning
- 3:25I got up and I was so sick that I threw up and the little
- 3:30blood vessels around my eyes broke. Oh no, And I was supposed to
- 3:34be going out with him that night to South Haven to a bar that was
- 3:38celebrating Christmas. So I had to call in to work because there was no
- 3:43way I could go in looking bloodshot eyes. Yeah, she was the front
- 3:49dust coal. So then that got canceled and then you guys went on another
- 3:53day. Well, then he came over that evening with flowers. Oh Wayne,
- 3:58what a man that was. During my Roses period, I would buying
- 4:02big roseman. Would you have an account? So I talk about fast forward?
- 4:10How long I tell you guys would get engaged about a year? Okay,
- 4:13so fairly quickly. Because we were riding in the car one evening going
- 4:18someplace and he slipped a ring on my finger. It was a band off
- 4:24of a cigar. Okay, hang on, I'm going to need a further
- 4:28explanation on this. Who was driving? He was wow, multitasker. And
- 4:33then you decided you were going to propose in the car. Well, it's
- 4:36part of the thing. Was my Merlin and I bought this engagement ring and
- 4:41I hadn't talked to Joanne yet, and it tells everybody everything. I bet
- 4:46get to her first. He was going to give me the ring for Christmas,
- 4:51okay, but people were finding out, so you wanted to Well,
- 4:55he was scared Myrtle would tell everybody Myrtle famous loose lips, Myrtle. Right.
- 5:01Okay, so you used the cigar wrapper. The band it not a
- 5:08big cigar girl. I apologize Joan, your your reaction to the cigar band,
- 5:12not the ring you were imagining. Probably, I don't know if I
- 5:15was even imagining a ring. Okay, he hadn't officially proposed, but I
- 5:18mean we kind of spent a lot of time together. He's kind of assumed.
- 5:24Yeah. I lived in three other girls, and I think they began
- 5:28to think he was just a permanent fixture there because he'd be sitting on the
- 5:31couch or whatever, make it himself at home. And I remember one night
- 5:35one of my roommates had a date and she was practicing walking through the living
- 5:40room and he's sitting there taking it all. Did she have a hard time
- 5:46walking? Was trying to get her wiggled right? You know, Wayne,
- 5:51It's really a lost start, isn't it. I can't remember the last time
- 5:55I practiced giving my wiggle down while walking Joanne. We might to practice that.
- 6:00My wife just walks on the straight line. It's really boring. The
- 6:05lady's really had it going on back then. Oh gosh, you say so
- 6:09much. I think the musta thought he was just permanent. Yeah, is
- 6:13he paying rent? Wayne House? How soon until you had your own toothbrush
- 6:16over at the four lex? You know you never did it because then you
- 6:20know it's serious. Yeah, well, you guys, We want to talk
- 6:25with you guys a lot more. Obviously, we're gonna get to know.
- 6:27I want to hear the wedding story. I want to hear it. And
- 6:29then, my god, there's been sixty two years sentence. We got a
- 6:30lot to cover. But I think since we got here, we should open
- 6:33it up. People have questions for Joanne and Wayne or Golden Valentine's, we
- 6:36should absolutely hear them. So seven one two eight oh one ninety eight seven
- 6:41feel free to tax you can call us as well. I love it.
- 6:44Thank you guys so much for coming in today, like a minute in the
- 6:46morning, big ninety eight points seven, Amanda, we have finally the data
- 6:49is in. I know you've been anxiously waiting for the data on the denied
- 6:54license plates of twenty twenty three people attempting to get personalized plates. How did
- 6:59you know that that's what I have been anticipating. Well, I mean,
- 7:02I know in years past it's one of the most exciting moments for you.
- 7:05I always just giggle when I see them. I appreciate them because you know,
- 7:09if you're driving around, it's like, oh, that's that's a good
- 7:11distraction, you know, something to look at. Half the time, I'm
- 7:14like, I'm sorry, I don't get it. I know it's supposed to
- 7:16mean something, but it's kind of like solving a riddle when I'm driving.
- 7:19Yeah, which everyone's good. And then suddenly been sitting at the green light
- 7:23for twenty seconds deep in thought. Somebody's laying worried about texting and driving.
- 7:28It's Amanda trying to read a license plate while driving. Lady, stop it.
- 7:32I'm trying to solve the puzzle. Oh, that's great. So these
- 7:35were some of the ones that were denied. Somebody tried to get through a
- 7:38license plate that said k I D N A p n Oh boy kidnapping,
- 7:44napping. Yeah, that's not so where they going with, like the kid
- 7:46is like there's a kid napping in the back, or kid on board.
- 7:51There's a kid on board, please be quiet. That's what I would think.
- 7:56Probably not like there's a there's a dozen kids. I'm been back here,
- 8:00you know, like not to mention it. And I'm no criminal,
- 8:03right, I don't. I don't think I would ever kidnap a child.
- 8:07However, if you did, probably not what you want on your license plate.
- 8:09No, and I'm assuming this isn't a big white man window list.
- 8:13Man, what's like this next one? Somebody attempted to get this personalized license
- 8:18plate. It was denied on math. Oh, two words on meth because
- 8:24seven letters six, I thought, oh, and then the the one is
- 8:30six three the space count so you can use that space. Got it on
- 8:35space? Myth. They're probably South Dakota plates because remember they had that big
- 8:37campaign. What it was it again, we're on meth, as simple as
- 8:41that. Yeah, or we're on math meth, we're on it. Yeah,
- 8:45those rascals did it work out for him? But do we see the
- 8:46numbers go down for the meth usage in South Dakota? You know, I'm
- 8:50not sure. I haven't done the data on that, but I will I'll
- 8:52get back to you. I I'm so worried about about the license plate data.
- 8:56Sure, sure, well this one, mister du was denied. You
- 9:01think of anything they would have let that one through, you know, just
- 9:05to sort of tip police off that, hey, this guy might be above
- 9:09a point oh eight. We can't say for sure. What they should do
- 9:11is if you've had them, put it on the back like DUI, that
- 9:15should be your first and then the number that you've had. That's a good
- 9:18idea, you know, don't you have to You have to get what do
- 9:22they call those plates that people who have had multiple DUIs have to get whiskey
- 9:26plates. It's like a specific kind of license plate. That's essentially. It
- 9:28might as well say, mister Dui, it's as fireball, I get Amanda
- 9:33in the morning. Seven. Well, today's RANTI big ninety of points seven.
- 9:37It's Pike and Amanda in the morning, and we are back with our
- 9:41golden Valentines, Wayne and Joe Anne. Oh you guys, thanks so much
- 9:45for spending the morning with us getting to know you. And it's not just
- 9:48us, A lot of people have some questions for you, guys, I
- 9:50mean, been married sixty two years. It's incredible, right, Does it
- 9:54feel the same today as it did sixty two years ago. No, because
- 9:56we're moving a lot flow. So you know you say that, but it
- 10:01sounds like you guys are still late night people. Oh we're late night people.
- 10:05And we have two cats because now they can keep to the company because
- 10:09we don't spend a lot of time at home. You guys are retired now,
- 10:13right, Yes, your daughter said that you guys owned a motel.
- 10:16We own the Golpher Prairie in and SoC Center for forty three years and four
- 10:20months, the Gopher in my goodness, and then now you guys are retired.
- 10:26So what's happened? Like I've told you, go on a lot of
- 10:28cruises, and we have another one coming up June fifth. Oh, and
- 10:31that one is to Ireland and Iceland and Norway. Oh, good for you
- 10:37guys. That is awesome. Atally in the world eighty three and eighty eight,
- 10:41just cruising through life. He won then at a drawing at Malax,
- 10:46because you know that's that's surprised. I got played a lot of blackjack.
- 10:50Oh you're a black jacket. Oh boy, here we go. Love me
- 10:54some blackjacket now, do you also lose all the time? Does it go
- 10:56like that for you as well? Well? You lose, but like Katie
- 11:01Rodgers said, no one to hold him, but no where to hold them
- 11:03A man, I mean bike, Nuh, it was it was right there
- 11:07the whole time. We've got some messages here from people. Yeah, so
- 11:11people on our Facebook page. And if you want to call seven one two
- 11:13eight o one ninety eight seven. And you have a question for our golden
- 11:16Valentine's Wayne and Joanne. But what advice would you guys give to married people
- 11:20today? You know, whenever you come to a rough spot, you just
- 11:24got to work your way through it. Yeah, there's no easy out,
- 11:26you just got to do it. You guys had some rough patches or has
- 11:28it all been just oh yeah, fairy to Every once in a while you
- 11:33have something comes up. If you're working on this lasted for sixty two years.
- 11:39A big thing is you still have to talk to each other. I
- 11:43learned that before we got freed. Is that right? Yeah? He said
- 11:46something and it offended me terribly, so I wouldn't talk. So he took
- 11:50me home and dumped me off. What'd you say, Wayne, You remember
- 11:52when I offended her somehow. I don't I don't know. But as long
- 11:56as she wasn't going to talk, I wasn't going to have her with you.
- 12:01So then who ended up coming back around? Did you Joe Anne break
- 12:03and you're like, no, I'm going to talk to you. I don't
- 12:07know. I apparently phones still worked. We didn't have cell phones, but
- 12:11yeah, I was gonna say, how hard was it to communicate? No?
- 12:13I mean you had to get him when they were at home. And
- 12:15did you go days without talking to each other? No? No? And
- 12:18did you have one of those phones that you had to do the rotary phone?
- 12:20Rotary phone? Yeah? Yeah? And now you guys got cell phones?
- 12:24Or oh yes, you're real fashionable, are you? You guys text?
- 12:26Yes? I love it? You have any apps on your phone?
- 12:30You play games on your phone or anything? I waste too much time on
- 12:33Facebook. I can't start playing I Pike, do not tell him about the
- 12:37blackjat games that he can get. Another question, this one's from Kelly.
- 12:39She wants to know what projects are you guys not able to do together because
- 12:43you're going to argue or fight. Well, he's more than mechanic, so
- 12:48sometimes he'll tell me to fix something, and I will tell him that's not
- 12:52my job for sure. Yeah, we used to golf, but he's still
- 12:56bowls. Whoa, Wayne's still a bowler bollet at eight Tuesday night and Wednesday
- 13:03or Friday after one of the original members of the team. He's just ninety
- 13:07three years old, really, he asks the doctor. He says, well,
- 13:11I still like to go bowling. You suppose I should keep that up
- 13:15or sure quit? His doctor says, I think you better keep bowling.
- 13:18I think that's what's keep me alive. Yeah, Kyle wants to know what's
- 13:22one thing that annoys you about your partner? But you just kind of let
- 13:26it slide, never getting a straight answer. What kind of answer has he
- 13:31given you? It's always I have to share this real quick. When we
- 13:35were first married, I worked for an engineering company, and after our son,
- 13:37David was born, they needed me to come in and help out for
- 13:41a couple of weeks. So at that time I was nursing our new baby.
- 13:46And so when I came home from work, I was ready to feed
- 13:50my baby. I couldn't find him, your baby. I couldn't find my
- 13:56baby. Boy had we had a footstool and cover opened up and he had
- 14:03hid the baby in there, Wayne, Wayne, you hid the baby?
- 14:11Was the was the baby sleeping or it wasn't? Yeah, it was right,
- 14:18got it? Okay? So how long did it take you to find
- 14:20your baby in the ottoman? I can't remember, but I was a little
- 14:26heeled. Oh my gosh, so Wayne, you're quite the prankster. Well
- 14:31a little bit. You guys, thank you so much for hanging out.
- 14:33And if you don't mind, we're going to have a couple more questions for
- 14:35you coming, if that's okay. We got anywhere to be today? Right
- 14:39here is right here? All right? They just penciled us in in the
- 14:43morning, and now Amanda stills, let's seat. Let's see. Well,
- 14:48after headlighting in the Super Bowl, he went right to Vegas weddings. Can
- 14:52you believe this usher got married right after his performance? I guess his mom
- 14:56served as as witness. They obtained their marriage license, and I assumed that
- 15:00it was going to happen while they were in Vegas, but just right after
- 15:03that performance, all sweaty. Do you think he showered beforehand? No?
- 15:05I think she probably preferred that he didn't. So I know women love the
- 15:11natural scent of a man, so great him and Jennifer I guess have been
- 15:13together since twenty nineteen. They've got a couple of kids, but super cutes
- 15:18always bad one and plenty of people were talking about Usher and Alicia Keys on
- 15:22stage, and Alicia Keys man Swizz Beats, jumped on Instagram yesterday and said,
- 15:26y'all are talking about the wrong damn thing. Y'all don't see the amazing
- 15:30dress covering the entire stadium. Tonight's performance was nothing but amazing with two amazing
- 15:35giants. Congrats at Usher and my We love Alicia Keys. That song is
- 15:39classic. We don't do negative vibes on this side. We make history.
- 15:43We go see giants. I'm thinking, why are we talking giants here?
- 15:48Did a little research giants. Art of the Dean Collection of Swizz Beats and
- 15:52Alicia Keys just opened, so if you want to go see this gallery in
- 15:54the Brooklyn Museum. That's a weird way to promote that. And that's his
- 15:58wife. Yes, you nailed it though. Yesterday when you were talking about
- 16:02Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga that performance, we all thought for sure like there
- 16:07was something something going on. Yeah, they were doing but they were acting,
- 16:10but at the same time, they're still humans. We could all tell
- 16:11there was a little more than just acting. I'm going to be honest with
- 16:15you. You know, I'm happily married. If usher is like coming around
- 16:18and like holding my waist like that, I'm gonna be like, uh uh,
- 16:23this is weird. Please stop touching me. But hey, if your
- 16:26husband Nick had an art gallery, correct, then you would be willing to
- 16:30do it. If he was howking some no Dak merchee go see no Dak
- 16:37Kanye West. He aired a thirty second commercial I guess, and I'm going,
- 16:41how did we miss this? I feel like we would have been talking
- 16:42about it. Well, it was in certain markets for some reason to pick
- 16:45up the Fargo March Target Fargo. He did not, but just that one
- 16:49ad because he didn't have to probably spend the seven million dollars because he didn't
- 16:52run everywhere. But he sold nineteen million dollars worth of merchandise at easy dot
- 16:57Com. So as much as we say here and go, this guy,
- 17:00in my opinion, lunatic off the rails all of these things. People are
- 17:04still following him like crazy. It's one of those things to be it.
- 17:07If he hasn't lost him yet, he's not going to yeah, go true.
- 17:10And you know, my biggest concern has been over his wife and she
- 17:14was wearing kind of this think of a tortilla chip, kind of like a
- 17:17thong outfit where she was barely covered yesterday and he posted this video three different
- 17:22times, and people are trolling him in the comments like what are you doing?
- 17:26And this is what he said. I just want to tell everybody I
- 17:27posted my wife three times on purpose. So what I'm saying is I delivered
- 17:34the album. Then people still in my comments, I'm out, why are
- 17:37you posting a why? Cause she make me happy? That's why y'all happy
- 17:41with the music, because I'm happy. You understand. So don't never say
- 17:45nothing negative. If you don't like my page and don't like what I'm posting,
- 17:49go for yourself, seriously leave me lead a king? Who am I
- 17:55crazy for sort of sympathizing with him here? You know, if my man
- 17:59is truly happy and he doesn't have his wife under a spell like ja'far like
- 18:03you're sort of thinking that's so what I'm feeling, they'll let him do it.
- 18:07You think he gave her the old snake eyed shaft, like I don't
- 18:10know, there's something going on there, and it's very unsettling for me.
- 18:14Romana in the morning on seven, like, isn't this the best day?
- 18:19Well, it's just so romantic, That's what I love it. We have
- 18:22our Golden Valentine's in the studio. We've been talking about it for the last
- 18:25couple of weeks and the nominees were Joanne and Wayne sixty two years married and
- 18:29Wayne. A lot of people have been commenting on your voice saying that you
- 18:32should have been in radio. Were you in radio? And dude, no,
- 18:34no, no, no, have you heard that before? That you
- 18:37got to go strong radio voice. But I've always liked to say that.
- 18:40Well, it was driving gravel truck. I was always saying it. You
- 18:44always singing what's a what was your favorite jam to sing to? Well,
- 18:47basically country western musication. Yeah, what do you think a new country Western?
- 18:52Well, it's it's not like the old snow. Well, what we've
- 18:56done here is we wanted to play a little game with you guys. You
- 18:59may have had she watched down the TV back in the day. It's called
- 19:02the newlywed game. You're familiar, yes, all right, So you guys
- 19:04have both filled out a few newly weed game questions, and so I'm going
- 19:07to ask the question. I'll tell you what your partner said, and then
- 19:11you tell me what the actual answers. Okay, So the first question was
- 19:14who is your partner's celebrity crush? And now Joanne filled this out for you,
- 19:18Wayne. Wayne, First of all, who would you say your celebrity
- 19:19crush is? Oh? Boy, I don't really know, Joanne shaking her
- 19:26head. Yes, thank you somebody that give you a hint? I think
- 19:30game show white a Bana white. After all these years, she's still doing
- 19:36it for you, flipping those letters on. Wayne. Well, I'll tell
- 19:37you many years ago she was on program. I put a chair alongside of
- 19:42the television, has stood up on it. You look down a clevage.
- 19:48What he did? Oh? Wayne, you rascal? You crazy? I
- 20:00guess all right? And she's still looking pretty good. Would you say?
- 20:03Well, yeah, absolutely all right? So it's not getting on any chairs
- 20:06anymore to take a peek? Okay, Joanne, who would you say your
- 20:10celebrity crushes? The one that I like so much? And he's passed away
- 20:14and I can't think of his name. Did the the Dan show, Dirty
- 20:18Dan? No, the Dirty damn Show? Not Patrick Swayzey wasn't is it?
- 20:23Patrick swast Thank you handsome man. No, actually, your husband Wayne
- 20:29put it was a multiple man the Oakridge Boys. Oh, I do like
- 20:33it, and I also like the Statler Brothers. She the whole crew.
- 20:37Huh hey the northern area. Okay, So the next question in our newlywed
- 20:47game with our golden valentines Wayne and Joanne, what physical quality? Yeah,
- 20:52does your partner find the most attractive about you? Joanne? What would you
- 20:56say your favorite physical quality about Wayne is he's still be good looking? He
- 21:02still got it pretty pretty much. He thought your answer would be general hair
- 21:06and good looks. Well, I was kind of close you were. Yeah?
- 21:10Yeah, yeah, that really nice had of hair ony Wayne still.
- 21:11So now this is interesting because the next question on our newlywed game here is
- 21:17what's your partner's pet name? For you? And Wayne? You didn't have
- 21:21an answer? Can you think of a Does Joanne have a pet name for
- 21:23you? Joann? And you can help you too, sweet little nickname?
- 21:26I broke down his pet name for me. It is either Joanne or Joel.
- 21:30Oh, Joe's cute? That is cute? Is your middle name?
- 21:33No? Joe Ane short for Joannee, was that the dumbest question you ever
- 21:38heard? In eighty four years? Have you ever heard a dumber thing?
- 21:44Will you ever call her like honey or sugar? Pomes any that I remember?
- 21:49Not even like Morten, babe. No. Last question on a new
- 21:55Lego game was what is your partner's dream date? Joanne? What would you
- 21:59say that would your dream date be Joanne going out for a nice dinner?
- 22:03Nice dinner? Well, Wayne said lobster dinner. Did he nail it?
- 22:06I think that's pretty cool, nic Oh my goodness. And Wayne, why
- 22:11would your dream date be? Well? I also like lobster, but whatever,
- 22:15that's part of it. Because she said, Joanne, your perfect date
- 22:18would be going to the casino, playing blackjack and having a nice dinner.
- 22:22Okay, yes, that sounds all right. I do have a Platinum player
- 22:27at Last Casino Platinum V I p rolling in here. Oh my goodness.
- 22:36Has it ever been a problem your gambling? When I run out of money,
- 22:42then you just headed that machine right and just automatically gives it to you.
- 22:45Sometimes I have to quit. Okay, there's a limit, you know.
- 22:51People always tell me that the ATM is the one game you never lose.
- 22:53That, but I've lost that it many times. Many times it tells
- 22:57me, you know, actually, sir, you don't have any money to
- 23:00take out. You guys are amazing. Well, we're gonna take a break
- 23:03here. We're actually tomorrow. If you guys are okay, then we're gonna
- 23:06have you come back and we're gonna renew your vows. How does that sounds
- 23:10great? Oh my gosh, and that ring And I mean, have you
- 23:14guys done any preparation for the vows or are you guys just gonna speak from
- 23:17the heart. We thought we'd try to wing it. That's our style kind
- 23:21of what we've been doing here the same. Basically, this whole program is
- 23:23a wing it. Thanks for listening, appreciate it. Trending new. Here's
- 23:29what you need to know. Well, it's good and bad news. The
- 23:32good news is the weather's been fantastic. The badness the Fargo Parts District did
- 23:36have to announce it all outdoor skating rinks, with the exception of the Shield
- 23:38skating rink at Broadway Square, going to remain closed for this season. Ideally,
- 23:42they need like seven to ten consecutive days with temperatures colder than ten degrees
- 23:47in order to have the safe ice surface. That's brutal if you're a big
- 23:51figure skater, not to mention, you know, even like a if you
- 23:53snowmobile, like have you even got it out? No? I obviously not.
- 23:56But ice fishing, I've no people are doing that they which is crazy
- 24:00to me. By the hey, a lot of people aren't using like their
- 24:03ice castles right now. But it's so weird. It's like we're all just
- 24:07on edge, just waiting for the shoe to drop. And we still have
- 24:10plenty of time, trust me. There we know we got a good two
- 24:11months here. We got to get through before you we can say we made
- 24:14it through unscathed. But then it will be pool season. And I'm looking
- 24:18at that Island Park pool down there. Are they gonna have that done this
- 24:19year? Either? It's crazy, like the amount of shot. I was
- 24:23feeling like this project was going to be a little bit longer than a year,
- 24:26but I could be wrong either way. I mean, they got a
- 24:30pool in there, They just got to put a hose in there and fill
- 24:32it out. Oh is that it? That's all I gotta do with?
- 24:36And this Super Bowl Sunday, I guess was recognized as the most watched program
- 24:40in television history one and twenty three point four million viewers. The audience was
- 24:45so large that it approached the all time most watched television program, which was
- 24:48back in nineteen sixty nine when Apollo eleven had The Moon Landing. That was
- 24:53a heck of a program. I mean, that's crazy. How much were
- 24:56they selling ads for then? I wonder? I think it was just black
- 25:00and white and it just was there. That's crazy. It's crazy how football
- 25:03how much bigger it is than everything else, especially sports. Like if you
- 25:07look at the ratings of the NBA Championship, which is the next most popular
- 25:11sport, compared to just a normal like Week two NFL game on Sunday,
- 25:15it's not even close. It's crazy. Yeah, we did a little research
- 25:18yesterday because we were talking about it. We're like, first of all,
- 25:21the price of the Super Bowl adds all of it. We're like, why
- 25:23do they not do it on Saturday? That is a conversation that so many
- 25:26people have had. I guess there's like an act that they signed back in
- 25:30like nineteen sixty one that said, because of college and high school sports,
- 25:33they will not have an NFL game on a Saturday, which is not true
- 25:37because they've had NFL games at Saturday. But they say it's just optimal for
- 25:40a viewership, which I don't have the numbers on that see, and I
- 25:42would totally disagree on that. Everything traces back to money. They feel like
- 25:47they can just make the most money. They don't care that for us,
- 25:48it'd be better to be able to have some few drinks and sleep in on
- 25:52Sunday. They don't care about that. I just feel like the economy just
- 25:55in general would be bigger if it was on a Saturday. Yeah, they
- 25:57all figured out. I sure, I dare send an email to Roger Goodell
- 26:00a the NFL. Mister Goodell, listen, you got a minute here,
- 26:03I did some thinking. Okay, brunch the numbers. You're gonna love me
- 26:08for this. You want to see the ROI on this bad point. All
- 26:12right? Today, of course is Gallentine's Day. If you didn't know that,
- 26:15Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. So the day before as I was Gallentine's Day.
- 26:18It's today for the Gallas to get together and celebrate. Now it's not
- 26:22like Singles Awareness Day. It's not we're hating on the men. It's just
- 26:25like, hey, get together, with your girls, have a little fun
- 26:27and enjoy and if you can't do it today, join us tomorrow for whinos
- 26:30women in Nita sanity. We're gonna do like a Valentine's Day slash Gallantine's Day
- 26:34over at the grotto tomorrow from four until six. When's my Boysentine's Day?
- 26:40Boy boy? Or is that every other day of the year? It is?
- 26:44Yeah, you boys get all the times every day, like get a
- 26:47minute in the morning. Come on, get up on dig eighty eight.
- 26:52Is this genius or no? On? Behalf of this working mom, amana.
- 26:55You've had babysitters for your two young kids, of course, yeah,
- 26:57Well this mom she had her son get a babysitter, so she leaves for
- 27:03the babysitter a chore list and at first I'm thinking, okay, no,
- 27:07that's not fat job, that's a no. However, the chore list was
- 27:11optional, so she made it clear for the babysitter the Hey, if you
- 27:14want to make a few extra bucks, here's a list of things I need
- 27:17done because I'm a busy working mom, and if you want to complete them,
- 27:19I'll pay you up to ten extra dollars. It was a pretty lengthy
- 27:23list of head the extra dollars and that's where do I sign up? Not
- 27:29No, I'm just kidding. I'm kidding, Okay, hit me with it.
- 27:32That was basically, yeah, you know, things like cleaning glass,
- 27:33merrors, vacuuming the couch, scrubbing the inside of the fridge, all priced
- 27:37between three and ten dollars. So you do we know the age of the
- 27:41kid that's being babysat? Roughly? I mean, is it an infit that's
- 27:45just like going to be sleeping the whole time, or is this a toddler
- 27:48who's running around? Because I don't I'd really want you to focus on my
- 27:52kid versus my mirrors. Well, right, yeah, you kids kind of
- 27:55you you know you got your head in the refrigerator. No, I don't
- 27:56know the age of the kid. It doesn't say yeah great if you you
- 28:00know, can find somebody who's going to clean your house and do that for
- 28:03ten dollars. But no, your focus if you are babysitting and my family
- 28:07is to keep my kids entertained, spend time with them. Your goal should
- 28:11be they don't want mom and dad to be home because they're having so much
- 28:14fun with you. Is that what you tell your babysitters kind of the vibe
- 28:18we give. Yeah, you have a training program for we do. Yeah.
- 28:21Usually it's hey, just so you know, there's the pizza, and
- 28:26then there's all the whatever you want and this and this and this is where
- 28:29everything is, and here's the debit card if something were to happen, and
- 28:32the keys. Otherwise, Yeah, we'll be back in a few hours.
- 28:36And then usually it's we text them, is it okay for a little late?
- 28:41And then another one we're on our way, but it's like we're really
- 28:44not on our way. And I'm just kidding. We'll get you rask.
- 28:45I'm just kidding. What do you look for in a babysitter? Anybody with
- 28:48a pulse? No, we is ready, not fresh out of prison.
- 28:52We've got about five on a lineup. Oh yeah, give or take.
- 28:56Y'all do a good job, totally. Yeah, we've never had a bad
- 28:59one. Aren't you excited for the age where your kids, instead of having
- 29:02to have your babysit or do the chores, your kids can just complete all
- 29:04the tasks. Our kids help already, like they the dish, they put
- 29:08their clothes in the Washington nine. Don't you have to supervise so much that
- 29:12you might as well just do it yourself. I can't. You're trying to
- 29:15teach them and every ding you got it? Yeah, No, for sure,
- 29:17like the day that I can just be like you get to do the
- 29:19dishes because that dishwasher is running every day. Sure, you know the day
- 29:23you can just leave go to happy hour and say, hey, Briggs,
- 29:26mow the lawn. That driveway better be shoveled by the time I get home.
- 29:30And that makes me sad. I'm not ready for that life. Oh
- 29:33just because they're old, yes, but you're not ready to come home to
- 29:36a shovel driveway. No, not that you're doing much shoveling. Yeah,
- 29:40like a minute in the morning, big naty eight points seven? When should
- 29:42you be throwing stuff away? And this is a good reminder for me mostly,
- 29:45but I'm going to say it out loud because you know I have a
- 29:48hard time throwing things away, especially when it comes to what it is the
- 29:51household items. Okay, we'll start, and these are like according to experts
- 29:53on how long things last until you should be throwing them away? Okay,
- 29:56like bed sheets, what would you guess, first of all, how long
- 30:00you had those sheets on that bed bed sheets. It's funny we have a
- 30:03fresh batch that we have not used because I mean, we wash our bedding
- 30:07at least once a week. But I don't want to open their fresh white
- 30:11sheets quite yet because I'm waiting for us to get out of like the stage
- 30:15where our kids aren't snacking in our bed sneaking in and then it's like accidents
- 30:18like all of that kind of stuff. Well, the experts say two years
- 30:22is about the lifespan of bed sheets. Well, I feel like we've probably
- 30:26been using ours five. Speaking a color of bed sheets, what would you
- 30:30say the optimal color for bed sheets is? I would go maybe gray,
- 30:34like like a gray beige kind of color would be good. But I love
- 30:38the like hotel white bed set. Yeah, we've got white bed white something.
- 30:42I like. I saw you sleep better, You just feel clean,
- 30:45feel comfy. But then do you ever go to a hotel and then you
- 30:48wake up the next day, because typically if you're in a hotel, you're
- 30:51not washing your face the night before or anything. So as a lady,
- 30:53I feel bad because I'm looking at the bed as I'm leaving, like,
- 30:57oh gosh. Or if you order a big and it's just a disaster.
- 31:02I feel horrible. Oh yeah, like I'll have pizza and bad and with
- 31:04white bed sheets. No, yes, like the chances of it getting dirty
- 31:07are pretty good. We got a white the blanket part of it, it's
- 31:10white, and let me tell you, the top of it, where like
- 31:11our heads are at, it is no longer white. It's really gross.
- 31:15Towels. How long should you have a towel? When they say three years
- 31:18is a good run for a towel? Wow? How often to you even
- 31:22wash the towel you got hanging up for your shower or whatever. Use it
- 31:25after too, and then wash it too. Yeah, that's so excessive.
- 31:29You're clean when you use it, but you're still getting off like a dead
- 31:33set. I feel like skin cell. I got a weird thing about this,
- 31:36like mythical skin cell phenomenon. I don't know. I just feel when's
- 31:40the last time you saw a skin cell? I don't know. I just
- 31:41feel like it's gross. And after you hang them up, they smell after
- 31:45a little bit, just because they're dry. I'm going on probably a month.
- 31:49Oh, you're such a lie, kidding, Probably a month since I've
- 31:52swapped out the shower towel. Does it smell not according to my nose.
- 31:56Gross No way should come over and take a snip. No thanks, be
- 32:00able to do a little experiment T shirts. Let's get on into the clothing.
- 32:04Two years they say T shirts will last, which is obviously fiction because
- 32:07I'm still wearing shirts from you know, college, A college. I mean
- 32:10I probably have Woodina Deercreek Rhythm met T shirts that are in a I have
- 32:15like a box of certain things, you know what I mean, Yeah,
- 32:16like old school T shirts when we launched our radio station. I still have
- 32:21the like big ninety eight point seven I'm kind of a big deal T shirt
- 32:23that was. We're coming up on almost eleven years with that bad Boy.
- 32:28Well, if you're still wearing high school shirts, props to you, because
- 32:30I'm afraid I no longer fitted into the shirts I was wearing when I weigh
- 32:32one hundred and thirty five pounds. I think I've just been an ongoing x
- 32:37L since freshman year. I remember when I made the jump from small to
- 32:42medium. I'm like, ooh, brutal old boy. Now occasionally it's like,
- 32:44wow, large, It's just a little comfier, don't not fun?
- 32:49Oh so good underwear. Every six months or so, they say oh gosh,
- 32:52and that's like for bras anything like that, like until the wires coming
- 32:57out and it's just like, Okay, it's not doing its job. We're
- 33:00not supportive anymore. Then I'm going to need to golf
