- 0:00Speaker 1: Markim live from the w R Lifeback studios.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, we bring you the smartest people around. Steve Forbes,
- 0:12Speaker 2: the chairman of Forbes Media and best selling author. You
- 0:16Speaker 2: should read his latest book, Inflation. You'll learn a lot,
- 0:19Speaker 2: and of course read Forbes, one of the great websites
- 0:22Speaker 2: in the world. Steve Forbes, how you doing.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Doing fine? Thank you? Looking forward tomorrow to the Knicks
- 0:30Speaker 1: Spurs game, hopefully the Knicks win and the show. There's
- 0:35Speaker 1: still a good life in New York City despite some
- 0:38Speaker 1: political problems.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Well, New York, New York is as crowded as ever,
- 0:43Speaker 2: and I think it's going to keep mom Donnie business.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It seems to be some sort of some sort of
- 0:47Speaker 2: a Knicks fan, so it'll keep him occupied for a
- 0:49Speaker 2: few weeks. I hope he doesn't jink them, but anyway,
- 0:54Speaker 2: that's true. So hey, mo'm donnie hokle, what is it
- 0:57Speaker 2: with these people in these taxes? We already got the
- 0:59Speaker 2: highest tax in the world, then they got the congestion tax,
- 1:02Speaker 2: the peit a tror tax. Do they not just not
- 1:06Speaker 2: realize how stupid this all is?
- 1:10Speaker 1: They may, well, Mam Donnie is all about control. He's
- 1:13Speaker 1: a committed to communists, neo communists. Let's call him a
- 1:16Speaker 1: neo communist. And it's too old to be an old communist,
- 1:21Speaker 1: but too young to be an old communist. But anyway,
- 1:24Speaker 1: they I think Hockel knows. But they're afraid of the
- 1:28Speaker 1: party's activists, left wing, and they're afraid of primaries. They
- 1:33Speaker 1: know that the activist control who gets nominations and who doesn't,
- 1:36Speaker 1: who gets funding who doesn't, and so they go along
- 1:39Speaker 1: with it and just hope for the best. So that's
- 1:42Speaker 1: why after the election, if she's re elected, expect even
- 1:46Speaker 1: more taxes, more regulations, and Mam Donnie the same thing.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And that's why it's in crucial get Bruce Blakeman in
- 1:54Speaker 1: as governor, because one that'll temper what Albany can do
- 1:58Speaker 1: for New York City. Mom Donnie gets too badly behaved,
- 2:02Speaker 1: the governor has the power to remove the mayor of
- 2:05Speaker 1: New York.
- 2:06Speaker 2: You know, when they run these Democrats in New York,
- 2:08Speaker 2: New Jersey, they just talk about the housing crisis, the
- 2:10Speaker 2: affordability crisis, everything's a crisis. Democrats have controlled every into
- 2:14Speaker 2: New York government for twelve years, So why don't voters
- 2:19Speaker 2: just say so? Obviously, democrats don't know what the hell
- 2:21Speaker 2: they're doing. Let's switch parties.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Well, I hope the opposition candidates will do that. I'm
- 2:28Speaker 1: sure blakeman is. I know he's already doing that. And
- 2:31Speaker 1: let's remember ma'm DONI one of his terrible things he
- 2:34Speaker 1: wants to do and effectively, like a good communist, sees
- 2:38Speaker 1: control of the private housing in New York City. Even
- 2:43Speaker 1: though the New York City is the biggest slum lord
- 2:46Speaker 1: in the city, their apartments are not maintained, full of
- 2:49Speaker 1: rats and roaches and everything else. They then want to
- 2:53Speaker 1: extend that kind of misery to the rest of housing.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So they're going to destroy small landlords who the owner's
- 2:59Speaker 1: rank control roles. The big guys will know that they
- 3:02Speaker 1: have to go along if they want to survive. So
- 3:05Speaker 1: it's a modern socialism. You don't have to formally take
- 3:07Speaker 1: things over. You do it by you strangle them by regulation.
- 3:11Speaker 1: So it's sort of Tony soprano socialism. We have an
- 3:14Speaker 1: offer you can't refuse, and if you do, we'll ruin you.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Well, And you brought up a good point. They're not dumb.
- 3:22Speaker 2: They know this stuff doesn't work, but they don't care.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It's to get control of everything, and what is their
- 3:28Speaker 2: end goal in all of this.
- 3:31Speaker 1: It's about control and telling pin It's amazing how these
- 3:36Speaker 1: tribunes of the people always seem to live very very
- 3:39Speaker 1: well in the name of helping the rest of the populace.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And so they love the idea of being able to
- 3:47Speaker 1: order people around, take control of assets. It's like being
- 3:52Speaker 1: in the playpen in the sandbox. You want all the toys.
- 3:56Speaker 1: They don't realize you're not going to get toys without
- 3:59Speaker 1: the private sector. But it's amazing to see federalism play
- 4:03Speaker 1: out in the United States as we come upon our
- 4:05Speaker 1: two and fiftieth birthday, and thank God for the founders.
- 4:10Speaker 1: What the Red States are doing and what the Blue
- 4:12Speaker 1: States are doing. The Red States are doubling down on
- 4:14Speaker 1: their good policies, low taxes, try to get rid of
- 4:18Speaker 1: idiot regulations and the like, and the Blue States just
- 4:21Speaker 1: seem intent on going in the opposite directions. You know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: there's a primary today California is crazy, what they call
- 4:29Speaker 1: the jungle primary in both the Los Angeles and for
- 4:33Speaker 1: the governorship, and hopefully the Republican candidates will make the
- 4:37Speaker 1: final runoffs in LA. As we know Pratt imagine an
- 4:41Speaker 1: adult and people say, well, look at his background. I say, yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 1: Ronald Reagan was an actor and look where that led.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And for a governor, maybe people in California will start
- 4:54Speaker 1: to wake up that things have to change. You need
- 4:58Speaker 1: an Adole in charge. Maybe the state of California still
- 5:01Speaker 1: hasn't reached bottom yet, but I think la and He
- 5:05Speaker 1: ran some spectacular ads, including the burnt out Palisades where
- 5:10Speaker 1: his bode was burned, and I think people recognize, why
- 5:15Speaker 1: do we keep the old crowd in when the nero
- 5:18Speaker 1: fiddle while Rome burned? The mayor of Los Angeles is
- 5:21Speaker 1: trapesing around in Africa? Or Los Angeles burned?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, Some people think this is a turning point.
- 5:27Speaker 2: This is a sign that the voters are wising. Is
- 5:29Speaker 2: that what it is, or just that this guy had
- 5:31Speaker 2: the greatest ads in social media of anybody.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Both. The frustration was there and he came along and
- 5:39Speaker 1: brilliantly tapped into it, and people, I think responded, even
- 5:44Speaker 1: if they don't fully agree with him, respond this guy's
- 5:46Speaker 1: got creativity. He will do something different and we know
- 5:50Speaker 1: what the current crowd has done. Let's try something new.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Maybe maybe it'll work. And fortunately California does have a history.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I occasionally of doing something good, like Ronald Reagan, a
- 6:02Speaker 1: proposition thirteen which the far left has been working over
- 6:06Speaker 1: time ever since to remove. So let's hope today will
- 6:12Speaker 1: be a turning point in California and then maybe the
- 6:15Speaker 1: message will go to other cities like New York. You
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't have to put up with this nonsense, destructive nonsense,
- 6:22Speaker 1: really malignant bundanni. By the way, why hasn't he been
- 6:26Speaker 1: given a summons for riding a bicycle without a helmet?
- 6:29Speaker 2: Oh, you know what, it's actually not illegal, you don't
- 6:32Speaker 2: legally legal really, legally kids have to wear a helmet.
- 6:36Speaker 2: It's recommended for adults.
- 6:38Speaker 1: And well he's not an adult anyway, but so he
- 6:41Speaker 1: should be fined. But what an example. He sets his
- 6:47Speaker 1: Reel Day parade and he's out riding a bike without
- 6:50Speaker 1: a helmet. It shows when it comes to morality, he's
- 6:53Speaker 1: brained dead.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the only reason with the helmet is brain damage.
- 6:58Speaker 2: That's the matter with him. What you don't need the helmet.
- 7:00Speaker 2: But hey, let's talk about a ran for a moment.
- 7:03Speaker 2: People are upset the stalemate, we're just stuck in the mud. There,
- 7:06Speaker 2: it's nothing said. But isn't this kind of a good thing.
- 7:09Speaker 2: We've hit them so hard militarily this way, we're just
- 7:12Speaker 2: killing them economically. Isn't it good to just let this
- 7:15Speaker 2: go for a while and drain their economy.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Unfortunately, we're dealing with people who are not normal people,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and it's true these are fanatics in their own world,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and they truly believe that they can limp along and
- 7:33Speaker 1: when by politics what they couldn't do militarily. So in
- 7:39Speaker 1: their minds they're getting having the US put pressure on
- 7:44Speaker 1: Israel not to go smash up Hesbala and Lebanon. That
- 7:50Speaker 1: the longer they wait and drag this thing out, the
- 7:52Speaker 1: more pressure voters and others will put on the US
- 7:57Speaker 1: government to go along with a deal where they kick
- 8:01Speaker 1: the can down the road. So my own view was
- 8:05Speaker 1: we shouldn't have done the cease fire. We should have
- 8:07Speaker 1: just finished it with two more weeks of operations including
- 8:11Speaker 1: carg Island and the overland roots that the Rends using
- 8:14Speaker 1: to keep some functions going and be done with it.
- 8:18Speaker 1: These people are just bad.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and somehow they're somehow surviving with this economy shutdown.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Do we think it's possible they have the guns and
- 8:30Speaker 1: they've got their still of cash and sadly, one of
- 8:33Speaker 1: the things they've been doing during this semi cease fire
- 8:38Speaker 1: has been rebuilding, taking their missiles out from underground. So
- 8:43Speaker 1: they see we have to realize they see the world
- 8:46Speaker 1: very differently, and any bargain with them, I don't think
- 8:49Speaker 1: will be worth the paper it's written on. So they
- 8:52Speaker 1: only understand one thing, and so let's hasten the day
- 8:56Speaker 1: when they go up to wherever they're going to go
- 8:59Speaker 1: and play with what they think will be virgins. You
- 9:02Speaker 1: heard the old joke that one of them went up
- 9:06Speaker 1: and George Washington and others greeted him and started hitting
- 9:11Speaker 1: them with sticks and everything. He said, I thought I
- 9:14Speaker 1: was supposed to have virgins, And he said, no, you
- 9:16Speaker 1: misunderstood you were going to get virginians.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Do we think the economy is shut there? We think
- 9:25Speaker 2: somehow China is secretly funding them or sending some money.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yes, of course they are. They're providing them with overland aid,
- 9:32Speaker 1: They're providing them with intelligence. So if they want to
- 9:36Speaker 1: do mischief, they know how to do it. Yeah, China
- 9:41Speaker 1: where they're not our friend, and they may have nice
- 9:44Speaker 1: summit meetings, but we should not have any illusion about
- 9:48Speaker 1: where they're coming from well.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Steve Forbes, great talking. Everybody gets Steve Forbes's latest book, Inflation,
- 9:54Speaker 2: and of course read Forbes Media Forbes every day, great websites,
- 9:59Speaker 2: check them every day, and Steve Forbes will do it
- 10:02Speaker 2: again soon. Thanks for being with.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Us, Thank you, and go next, Go Yankees, and maybe
- 10:07Speaker 1: in the Mets someday can show signs of life.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Take care, talk soon, take care, thank you, thank you,
- 10:14Speaker 2: Thanks the great Steve Forbes. Hey, don't forget. At noon
- 10:17Speaker 2: it's Buck Sexton and Klay Travis. I love that show
- 10:19Speaker 2: every day noon to three. I really learn a lot
- 10:21Speaker 2: listening to them. Then you got the most listened to
- 10:23Speaker 2: radio show in America, Sean Hannity's on here from three
- 10:27Speaker 2: to six. Then you got Jesse Kelly at six, and
- 10:30Speaker 2: if you heard Jimmy Fayla. Such a great shows, so
- 10:32Speaker 2: funny every night nine to midnight, and it's right here
- 10:35Speaker 2: on seven to ten. WR
