- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: We will talk more about that very soon, but listen now to my dear friend, Brother Scott Nettoville, I'm going to come in with an introductory question and that I'm going to let Brother Nettoville, yes, he's kind of speaking from the other side, if you will, I'm going to let him take it away.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to me a little bit about how the Lord put you in ministry.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to me about the young man Scott Nederville and what his dreams and his aspirations were, and maybe just maybe you can give us a little bit of the love story with Miss Debbie as well, and all that.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: But talk to us about the beginning of the Nederville story.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, now I got saved September 14th, 1981, I was 23 years old, I had grown up in church.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: And as a young teenager, rebelled against everything I'd been taught, everything I'd done.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: I learned through the years, and at 16 years old, I quit going to church, told my parents I wasn't going to go back, and I tell folks I, and laughingly, probably the best thing my dad could have done is taking a baseball bat to me, and everybody didn't, he prayed for me instead, and just kept loving me.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: And at 23 years old, living in Pasadena, Texas with a couple of friends of mine in an apartment there.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: On that morning, I was, it was a Monday morning.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: I worked at a steel mill in Houston.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: And, but the Holy Spirit of God woke me up and had, I'm not a charismatic, but God had used the drain of my vision of Jesus and just honestly speaking to my heart about
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: and knew I was lost, I knew I was heading for hell, but a new word my dad was that morning.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: My dad was sitting at the and sketching counter, reading his Bible and praying.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: Before he went to work, it was about 6.30 in the morning.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: I picked up the phone, called my dad, and I asked him to pray with me, I wanted to get saved, man.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: my dad was pretty excited.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: He said, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's pray.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: And so I prayed that morning and got saved.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: And from there, it wasn't long.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: I was working on Sunday mornings.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I wasn't long.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: I got a conviction about working Sunday mornings.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want to.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: didn't want to work on Sundays and on Sunday mornings.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you know, I was going to go Sunday night and Wednesday night, which I did, but I began to pray and ask the Lord to, you know, open the door, let me change my shift or something so that I could go to Sunday morning church.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: The bus director was excited, and he said, man, that's great.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: He said, now you can get involved in the bus ministry.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he started telling me about the bus meeting on Saturday mornings in such and so I, and he said they'd have donuts.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: And they cooked me right there.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: And, uh,
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: So I went to that first bus meeting, and that morning, he, you know, how you opened a bus meeting with songs, and so on.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: He did that.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then he said, I want to welcome our newest bus captain.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm thinking more, praise the Lord.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and I'm kind of looking around to see who the new bus captain is.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: And he says, Scott,
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: And he actually said, well, here I have an 11 year old daughter and a 13 year old daughter.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: And then if you'll go up and with them, they'll show you what to do.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: And they had an established bus route already that they turned over to me.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: And many, I guess, some things learned on my own over the next year.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: Others, you know, just from there, learned to take me back at Candy and go to apartments.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: go door knocking and homes or go out to, you know, just different places and try to get kids to come and ride my bus and for the next year and a half was a bus kept and they're in that year and a half God spoke to my heart about going to Bible College.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: And this would have been in 2014, late.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: Now, it would have been early 2015 with had a revival there at the church of evangelists by the Bill Stafford had preached.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember going home that evening and as I went across the railroad tracks and Hollins, Texas, I remember telling the Lord,
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: whatever you want me to do.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: And one long after that, my heart was burdened to go to Bible College, not because I felt called to the ministry, but a man named my mentor had come home from Bible College.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: He had actually gone to Tennessee Temple, and then was going to Texas Baptist College.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: And for the first time in my ministry or in my Christian life at that time, I saw somebody get saved.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: We had gone out on the bus route.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: He had, I had knocked on the first door and just did what I did, just, you know, all I knew to do was
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: knock on the door, introduce myself, and I'm a track, invite them to church, tell them about the bus ministry, and so on.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I did that, and then rather, men are knocked on the next door, and the man from India answered the door,
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: and Brother Menor talked to him for a minute.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: He did the same things I had just done.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: But then he asked him a very strange question to me.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'd never heard it before.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: And in fact, I remember kind of stepping back when he asked that question.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: I was kind of taken back by he asked the man.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: If you died today, do you know for sure you're going to heaven?
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought, wow, what a question.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'd never heard that before.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: And the man said no and he invited us in his home and he called his family into the living room.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: And they had a big sectional couch.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember, brother, men are sitting there in between the man and his wife and a teenage daughter standing behind him.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: I was sitting over to his left there with a couple of his kids.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: And brother, men are led that man and his wife and that teenage girl to the Lord that night.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: And it changed my life forever.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: uh, I wanted to go to Bible college to learn how to be a sober, that I ask him.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: I said, man, where did you learn how to do that?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: He said, if Bible college, he said, you ought to come and see.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: And so I did.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: I went to Texas Baptist College just to see, uh,
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: what they were doing, how did you learn to win souls, ended up going to Bible College there, and Miss Natterville was working there as a secretary and working with the teenage kids at that
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: She was out of faith Baptist Church there in Burbanay.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: Brother Gray had passed her there before Brother Storm, before Brother Angel.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: And she had gone with him when he left Burbanay down to Texas.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: uh... continuing in the ministry and uh... and so she was working there and we've met and uh... later on got married and so uh... that's uh... how we uh... met and got started in the nineteen eighty eight we uh... moved to bourbon eight the first time i'd ever been north from a very it was in November of eighty eight when we got married
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: And when it started getting cold in the next couple of months, I was, I had never been in weather below zero.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I was from the Houston area, and it doesn't get like that down there.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I was kind of taking back a little bit.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: We made it for 20 months in Burbanane.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I told Ms. Nederville, I said, this land didn't fit for habitation.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: We're going back to Texas.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's funny.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: But the Scott was such a good man.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: He was such a well-loved man.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: His funeral service is not just one, but they had one done in Texas, one in Illinois, so very well-attended, and what a testament of this man's life.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: But after he's passed away, gone on to glory, he's left behind some things that can be a help to you, even.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: He recorded BTI was privileged to produce some soul-winning training.
