- 0:33Speaker 2: is just flying by. It just feels like last week
- 0:34Speaker 2: was derby. But anyway, we're we're almost headed towards the Belmont.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Now.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I hope everybody's ready for a big weekend. If you

- 0:50Speaker 2: Cat Radio with Justin Kalin is here with me. He's
- 0:53Speaker 2: he's all sporting his Cincinnati red shirt. Ready to go
- 0:58Speaker 2: see the Reds play? Are you playing? Are you gonna
- 1:00Speaker 2: see him play tonight? Ors at tomorrow night?
- 1:02Speaker 3: Tonight?
- 1:03Speaker 2: You're going tonight, So all right, you gotta correct me
- 1:06Speaker 2: if I'm wrong. Now the graduation party is tonight as
- 1:10Speaker 2: well tomorrow, Oh, tomorrow.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So the plan is, if everything works out like it's should,
- 1:16Speaker 3: we're gonna leave around one o'clock today. My dad's twin
- 1:20Speaker 3: is actually gonna meet us in Cincinnati. He's the one
- 1:22Speaker 3: that lives in Dayton, so he's just gonna drive down
- 1:25Speaker 3: meet us there, hang out with us, go to the
- 1:27Speaker 3: game with us. So our plan is to get to
- 1:29Speaker 3: Cincia around three or so, find a bar or something.
- 1:33Speaker 3: We're just gonna walk around, explore, maybe find a bar
- 1:36Speaker 3: to drink, get some food before we go to the game,
- 1:39Speaker 3: and then we'll go to the game. Then we'll drive
- 1:41Speaker 3: up to Dayton, and then ideally, if things work out,
- 1:46Speaker 3: we will play golf before the graduation part.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Oh, and then graduation. When is the actual graduation? I
- 1:55Speaker 2: think it's already happened. I think they're graduation and this
- 1:58Speaker 2: is your cousin that is graduating, right, all right? Did
- 2:01Speaker 2: you wish your cousin congratulations on your show?
- 2:05Speaker 3: On the show? Show? Well?
- 2:07Speaker 4: Why not? Why wouldn't you do something like that?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Maybe I should have. I'm sorry you should have done that.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I think you should do it.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Now?
- 2:14Speaker 4: What what is his or her name?
- 2:18Speaker 3: Hold on? Hold on what Bianca Bianca.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, interesting, congratulations, Yes, absolutely, congrat it's just staying
- 2:28Speaker 2: a little more enthusiasm.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Okay, gratulations Beyonca.
- 2:32Speaker 4: There we go.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I like that.
- 2:34Speaker 2: That's you should be happy for Bianca. I am and
- 2:37Speaker 2: Bianca is this is this part of the German family
- 2:41Speaker 2: and that's where the name comes from.
- 2:43Speaker 3: No, so her mom, my uncle's wife is Turkish. Ah.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Interesting, you have a very diclectic is it?
- 2:54Speaker 4: Is that right?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Diverse?
- 2:55Speaker 4: Diverse?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, eclectic is what I was trying to put diverse
- 2:59Speaker 2: in eclectic on the same word.
- 3:01Speaker 4: So diclectic.
- 3:03Speaker 2: You have a very diclectic family because you know, part
- 3:06Speaker 2: of your family's German. Now you have some Polish in
- 3:09Speaker 2: your family. I'm sorry. Turkish and Bianca Is that a
- 3:12Speaker 2: Turkish name?
- 3:14Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't I don't know how they
- 3:16Speaker 3: decide her. Her brother's name is Alex, Like, that's pretty
- 3:19Speaker 3: American what you.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Go from Bianca to Alex of all things?
- 3:24Speaker 4: Really, I feel like, and what's what's your aunt's name?
- 3:30Speaker 3: Panar?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Wow?
- 3:33Speaker 4: Okay, that that's interesting.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I like that.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I see.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I love different kinds of names like that. Bianca and
- 3:40Speaker 2: Parar Panar, Panar kind of like Panash but I'll call
- 3:45Speaker 2: her panar. Okay, but congratulations Bianca, and she'll never hear this.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I'm oh, you are good. Don't tell her we are
- 3:53Speaker 2: talking about her. What are her plans after high school?
- 3:56Speaker 2: Is she going to college?
- 3:58Speaker 3: I'm assuming she is, but I'm not really sure she could.
- 4:01Speaker 3: She's one of those people that she could probably go
- 4:03Speaker 3: do whatever she wanted, really like, if she wants to
- 4:07Speaker 3: go to the work for I imagine she'll go to.
- 4:09Speaker 2: College, unlike your cousin justin so Okay, Yeah, that's so sad,
- 4:14Speaker 2: it is. But you know, that's quite a big gap
- 4:16Speaker 2: in age right there between two cousins.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I have one. My youngest cousin is nine.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Your youngest cousin is nine years old. Are you the oldest?
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm the oldest.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Okay, that's amazing because my family is very much the
- 4:34Speaker 2: same way. You know, my dad was one of twelve,
- 4:36Speaker 2: so I already have cousins that have passed away that
- 4:40Speaker 2: that would be in there. I think they'd be in
- 4:43Speaker 2: their nineties. By holy moly, I have one cousin that's
- 4:47Speaker 2: in her late eighties.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, Gloria Jean.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Of course, of course, I'm from the South because you know,
- 4:54Speaker 2: little Kentucky's in the South. But no, my mom and
- 4:57Speaker 2: dad are from Nashville. And a lot of my cousins
- 5:01Speaker 2: have two first names, So Hugh Eddie married. Let me
- 5:05Speaker 2: think Gloria Jean, Betty Lou Betty Jean, Betty Sue. I
- 5:11Speaker 2: have a lot of Betty's in my and this is
- 5:13Speaker 2: I am not exaggerating at all. And I'm trying to
- 5:18Speaker 2: think of I know there's more, but I can't think.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Of him right now.
- 5:21Speaker 4: But I mean, I can't keep up with all my cousins.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Okay, but if you go to Nashville, Tennessee and you
- 5:27Speaker 2: meet a Bennett, nine times out of ten I'm relating
- 5:30Speaker 2: to them.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it's probably.
- 5:32Speaker 2: More like nine point nine times out of ten they're
- 5:34Speaker 2: they're my cousins, or they're they're you know, somewhere in
- 5:37Speaker 2: my family.
- 5:38Speaker 3: But Bennett's not your cousin, is it.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Who's Sam Bennett?
- 5:41Speaker 2: He's a hockey player. Oh yes, No, I don't know
- 5:44Speaker 2: Sam Bennett. Now, I have no idea Tony Bennett's not
- 5:49Speaker 2: my cousin because that wasn't his real name. But I
- 5:52Speaker 2: would always have people ask me if I was related
- 5:54Speaker 2: to Tony Bennett. But no, no, Sammy.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Bennet's playing for the UH Panthers. How about that?
- 6:00Speaker 4: Oh really with you? Yeah? Okay? Good? Well?
- 6:04Speaker 2: I I probably won't meet him, but uh, maybe I
- 6:06Speaker 2: should buy a jersey. That's one thing I've always wanted
- 6:08Speaker 2: to get a jersey with, you know, a real player
- 6:11Speaker 2: that has my name on the back of it. All Right,
- 6:14Speaker 2: So Monday is the big day. Are we prepared as
- 6:19Speaker 2: a city?
- 6:20Speaker 3: You know?
- 6:21Speaker 4: It's the I sixty five shut down?
- 6:24Speaker 3: Uh?
- 6:24Speaker 2: And it's it's north end south, isn't it between Jefferson
- 6:28Speaker 2: Street and the Waterston Expressway?
- 6:31Speaker 3: Correct?
- 6:32Speaker 4: How do you think that this is this is impacting
- 6:36Speaker 4: you as well? Correct?
- 6:37Speaker 3: I here's the thing. I don't think it will impact me. However,
- 6:42Speaker 3: the closer it gets, the more worried I'm getting.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh that's right, You're going to I sixty four, so
- 6:48Speaker 2: you get you take off sixty five?
- 6:50Speaker 4: Is that right to go?
- 6:52Speaker 3: I go Second Street Bridge downtown, hop on sixty four
- 6:56Speaker 3: and then yeah, when I leave, And that's at six
- 6:59Speaker 3: o'clock in the morning, and traffic's usually pretty light around then.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So I don't know how much the morning time's going
- 7:04Speaker 3: to affect me. I am gonna leave probably fifteen minutes
- 7:07Speaker 3: earlier on Monday morning, just in case. But then when
- 7:10Speaker 3: I leave here every day, I leave it after eleven
- 7:13Speaker 3: and I just drive down sixty four to Cordon. So
- 7:16Speaker 3: I really don't think I'll be affected by it at all.
- 7:18Speaker 2: You shouldn't be, hopefully not. But you know, who knows
- 7:21Speaker 2: how this is going to affect everybody. But I'm not
- 7:26Speaker 2: looking forward to this. I know a number of people
- 7:29Speaker 2: out there are not looking forward to So I've got
- 7:32Speaker 2: some people I know that drive from the south part
- 7:36Speaker 2: of Louisville and drive up to downtown.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I don't know how they're gonna do it.
- 7:41Speaker 2: And for all the people that live around the airport
- 7:45Speaker 2: and towards downtown that way, you know you're gonna have
- 7:48Speaker 2: all this madhouse of cars all of a sudden and
- 7:51Speaker 2: infesting your neighborhoods now in your streets. It's just going
- 7:54Speaker 2: to be a complete utter mess. Well, the only way
- 8:00Speaker 2: I can describe it.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Imagine if you get an accident, but God forbid you
- 8:04Speaker 3: get an accident on the gene or the waters, like
- 8:07Speaker 3: holy smokes.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Oh wait, wait, is that what we're calling the gene? Snyder,
- 8:11Speaker 2: Now it's called the gene? Is that what it is.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I didn't know that. Oh heavy, really, I mean to me,
- 8:18Speaker 2: it's still the Jefferson Freeway. Do you even know that
- 8:20Speaker 2: it was originally called the Jefferson Freeway. There was a
- 8:24Speaker 2: local band in here in uh here, in Louisville that
- 8:28Speaker 2: took the name. The name of their band was Jefferson Freeway.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I thought it was a great name, you know, kind
- 8:33Speaker 2: of like Jefferson Starship and uh but so yes, Jean
- 8:39Speaker 2: Slider as I like to call it because it's always
- 8:42Speaker 2: sliding and during the wintertime, but it was originally called
- 8:45Speaker 2: the Jefferson Freeway. I like it more as I like
- 8:50Speaker 2: it more as the Jefferson Freeway. I've never liked the
- 8:52Speaker 2: name Gene Snyder, but I kind of could adopt the gene.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I think that's a great name.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I love it.
- 8:59Speaker 2: It's so it is easy because you know, you've come
- 9:03Speaker 2: up with a couple of words. Number one, I've never
- 9:05Speaker 2: adapted what you call an I l I've never called
- 9:08Speaker 2: it nil, and I don't think anybody else is really
- 9:11Speaker 2: adapted to the nil.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I mean, I don't need anybody adapt to it. That's
- 9:14Speaker 3: what I'm gonna call it, though, I'm telling Okay, Well,
- 9:17Speaker 3: nobody's gonna know what you're talking about. But that's fine.
- 9:19Speaker 3: You do get the nil do they really? Okay, in
- 9:23Speaker 3: context clues you can figure it out.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Okay, Well, uh, I'm glad, But but the gene is
- 9:28Speaker 2: something I can embrace.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I like this.
- 9:31Speaker 2: From now on, when we start giving traffic reports, which
- 9:34Speaker 2: we've literally never done on this show, we're gonna we're
- 9:37Speaker 2: gonna refer to it as the gene.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I'd like this.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And you know what, and then here's what we're calling
- 9:42Speaker 2: to call the Waterston Expressway.
- 9:44Speaker 3: The what No, I don't like that.
- 9:46Speaker 4: What it's gotta be the way?
- 9:47Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 9:49Speaker 2: What do you call I sixty five? Then I sixty five? Yeah,
- 9:54Speaker 2: there's most.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Time if I'm talking about the waters I say sixty four.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Oh do you No, I call it the Waterston I've
- 10:01Speaker 2: always called it the Waterston express One.
- 10:04Speaker 3: That's the difference. You you're from here, well, spent a
- 10:08Speaker 3: lot of time here. I really haven't. You're not from
- 10:12Speaker 3: the Louisville area. I mean, I'm from southern Indiana. But
- 10:14Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, Michael, when I was a kid, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and we were we came into Louisville. It was a
- 10:21Speaker 3: forty five to fifty minute drive. Oh is it that far? Okay,
- 10:26Speaker 3: so yeah, I didn't. I don't consider myself a lot
- 10:28Speaker 3: pavilion for what.
- 10:29Speaker 2: It's worth because you grew up around Peakin. Yeah yeah,
- 10:34Speaker 2: that's been a bikes Yeah, oh yeah, it's definitely well.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I mean I would drive further because I had a
- 10:38Speaker 2: friend that lived in Salem, so yeah, just to go,
- 10:42Speaker 2: uh you know, have a date.
- 10:43Speaker 4: But anyway that that didn't do quickly cause I would
- 10:47Speaker 4: say she.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Should have met you halfway. But there's nothing halfway. No,
- 10:50Speaker 3: there's absolutely no.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I And you know the funny part about it, When
- 10:53Speaker 2: growing up I never really drove to Indiana. The only
- 10:56Speaker 2: time I really started driving over to southern Indiana was
- 10:59Speaker 2: when bas Pro Shop opened up, and then I was
- 11:02Speaker 2: going all the time. And then I got mad when
- 11:04Speaker 2: they started charging the fares on the bridge.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I've got to ask why you would go to bess
- 11:11Speaker 3: Pro Shop. You know, no disrespect, but you don't strike
- 11:15Speaker 3: me as a hunter or a fisher or anything that
- 11:20Speaker 3: you would get at Bass Pro. I'm just really, how
- 11:22Speaker 3: would you go?
- 11:22Speaker 2: The thanks? I love to well, at the time I
- 11:27Speaker 2: was doing some hunting. I used to do quite a
- 11:30Speaker 2: bit of deer hunting. Seriously, Oh, absolutely, until I until
- 11:35Speaker 2: I woke up one damn like, why am I sitting
- 11:37Speaker 2: in the deer stand this early in the morning. This
- 11:39Speaker 2: is kind of boring. And but but but I started
- 11:45Speaker 2: to get into turkey hunting. I love turkey hunting. And
- 11:48Speaker 2: then I love, uh any kind of bird hunting. I
- 11:51Speaker 2: mean you you uh.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Uh quail or dove or duck.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I got into that, so I don't do that as
- 12:00Speaker 2: much as I do it used to now. As far
- 12:02Speaker 2: as fishing, if it's salt water, I love saltwater fishing.
- 12:07Speaker 2: If it's freshwater, ah, you can have it.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Oh you can't fish fresh water after you've done salt water. No,
- 12:14Speaker 3: to me, you can't. It's not nearly as excited.
- 12:16Speaker 2: It's no, not at all, because I love the whole trolling,
- 12:20Speaker 2: the strategy, getting really big game fish. I mean that
- 12:24Speaker 2: is a lot of fun. Just no offense to you
- 12:26Speaker 2: guys that love freshwater, and.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Just in my experience as well, the fish that are
- 12:31Speaker 3: in the ocean fight way more than freshwater and.
- 12:35Speaker 2: They do to me, yeah, absolutely. Here was the other
- 12:39Speaker 2: thing I would buy. I loved their grills. They had
- 12:43Speaker 2: really good smokers and smoking stuff, and they had boat accessories,
- 12:48Speaker 2: and I would go there and buy boat accessories. So
- 12:51Speaker 2: then when I got mad about having to pay the toll,
- 12:55Speaker 2: I started going to Cabela's. And I love Cabella's. I
- 12:57Speaker 2: think between Beast Pro Shop and Cabella's, I love their clothes.
- 13:02Speaker 2: So yeah, I would buy lots of stuff there. So
- 13:04Speaker 2: thanks a lot for saying that. You know, Michael Bennet's
- 13:07Speaker 2: a little too snuffy to go to one of these
- 13:09Speaker 2: two places, and I love them there.
- 13:11Speaker 3: There is a lot of things in the almost two
- 13:14Speaker 3: years we've been doing this show together that have surprised me.
- 13:17Speaker 3: That's probably at the top of the list. Is it
- 13:20Speaker 3: really you used to be a hunter. I would have
- 13:22Speaker 3: never pegged you as a hunter really now?
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I still have all my Uh shouldn't advertise that,
- 13:28Speaker 2: but I still have, you know, the things that you
- 13:31Speaker 2: used to take care of animals when you're trying to
- 13:33Speaker 2: go out there and seek them.
- 13:35Speaker 4: But uh, yeah, I I do. I did.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And I just had some guys I grew up with
- 13:41Speaker 2: that was one of their favorite things to do, so
- 13:44Speaker 2: I kind of got into it with them because I
- 13:45Speaker 2: want to be with my buddies. Now, did I enjoyed
- 13:48Speaker 2: every single time. No, but I wanted to be with
- 13:50Speaker 2: my friends, So there you go. Yeah, my dad, No,
- 13:55Speaker 2: the only thing he hunted were golf balls. Okay, in
- 13:58Speaker 2: the long grass, that would be the only thing he
- 14:00Speaker 2: would hunt.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Looks like the brother Zach is actually turkey hunting right now.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I just sent me a video, is it? With four
- 14:06Speaker 3: or five of them in front of them? Nice turkey.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Turkey hunting is one of the funnest things I've ever done.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And I mean I was checking up and downhills, all
- 14:16Speaker 2: kinds of stuff because there's a lot of strategy in
- 14:18Speaker 2: turkey hunting and you can't fool those things. They have
- 14:20Speaker 2: eyesight like you wouldn't believe that. And one of the
- 14:24Speaker 2: funnest turkey hunts I ever had. And I didn't even
- 14:26Speaker 2: get a shot off. Does that make any sense? No,
- 14:30Speaker 2: But I loved it.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I mean I can I can understand that because when
- 14:34Speaker 3: I hunted. I don't hunt anymore either, But I used
- 14:37Speaker 3: to know a lot when I was growing up, and
- 14:40Speaker 3: as long as I went out there and saw eight
- 14:44Speaker 3: nine ten deer, I was satisfied. I didn't need to
- 14:46Speaker 3: shoot one. I liked being out in nature and seeing them.
- 14:51Speaker 2: One of the funnest things I did. Every time I'd
- 14:53Speaker 2: get a new turkey call, I'd take it with me
- 14:56Speaker 2: to an event the boys would have and they knew
- 14:58Speaker 2: it was their dad.
- 14:59Speaker 3: It's like, please stop.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I would start doing the turkey call, and people like, oh,
- 15:03Speaker 2: there's a turkey around here, and of course it's me
- 15:05Speaker 2: and the roof of my mouth it's a turkey call.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Nobody would know that it's me with it. You know,
- 15:10Speaker 2: they have those ones that you put in the roof
- 15:12Speaker 2: of your mouth.
- 15:12Speaker 3: It was hilarious.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I should go get it out and start doing my
- 15:15Speaker 4: turkey call again.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Oh god, oh yeah, I like that.
- 15:19Speaker 2: That's another little tidbit of Michael Benachi that never expect it.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I bet, I bet there's a few more things that
- 15:25Speaker 2: I do that you would never guess.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Idea. Oh I'm sure, yeah, they'll they'll come up in Tom.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Garrett, Yeah they probably, they probably will. But yeah, I'm
- 15:34Speaker 2: I'm a bit of a nutcase. But uh anyway, Uh,
- 15:37Speaker 2: let's go ahead and take our first break. You know,
- 15:39Speaker 2: after all, this is a sports show. We got to talk. Well,
- 15:41Speaker 2: we're talking about hunting, fishing. This might as well be
- 15:43Speaker 2: the Joe b and Denny Show.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 15:45Speaker 2: That's all they would do is talk about hunting and fishing,
- 15:47Speaker 2: and I loved every second of it. That was That
- 15:50Speaker 2: was my all time favorite radio show far none. I
- 15:55Speaker 2: love listening and it was only when job and Denny
- 15:58Speaker 2: were on. Denny was always off. I'll be Danny, Oh
- 16:01Speaker 2: you will.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I don't know if I could be.
- 16:05Speaker 2: But Joe B said, probably one of the funniest jokes
- 16:09Speaker 2: I have ever heard my life, and it's it, and
- 16:13Speaker 2: I will I will butcher it because the way he
- 16:16Speaker 2: pronounced you know, the way he talked and when he
- 16:19Speaker 2: would say a joke, it just made it even funnier.
- 16:22Speaker 2: But yeah, there's two things that always happen when you
- 16:24Speaker 2: get old. The first one is your memory goes. Have
- 16:29Speaker 2: you ever heard this before?
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Two things when you get older, and it's really sad. Uh.
- 16:35Speaker 2: The first thing is your memory goes. The second thing,
- 16:41Speaker 2: what was I talking about? I see exactly I told you,
- 16:47Speaker 2: But to hear Joby say it in his uh, the
- 16:51Speaker 2: way he talked was just it made you laugh because
- 16:55Speaker 2: you just and even smile. The smile in his face
- 16:57Speaker 2: when we'd tell a joke was the greatest. But anyway,
- 17:00Speaker 2: I just I that's a guy I definitely miss you know,
- 17:03Speaker 2: and thanks to Oscar Combs for having him having me
- 17:07Speaker 2: get to know him in that honor. That was a
- 17:09Speaker 2: lot of fun. But anyway, all right, we're gonna take
- 17:12Speaker 2: our first break. Fable two three four fourteen fifty. If
- 17:14Speaker 2: you have any more jokes you want to butcher, give
- 17:16Speaker 2: me a call, uh, fable two four one four fourteen fifty.
- 17:19Speaker 2: If you want to text in on the Whiskey Deep
- 17:22Speaker 2: text line, stay right there, we got a bunch more.
- 17:25Speaker 2: It's Friday. Let's have some fun. We'll see him there,
- 17:34Speaker 2: found you whatever, shake pay.
- 17:46Speaker 3: With this city on back.
- 17:53Speaker 4: With them on.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Say don't know me, I'll right.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Five O two three four fourteen fifty.
- 18:21Speaker 2: If you want to call in five O two four
- 18:23Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty, you want to text in on
- 18:25Speaker 2: the Whiskey Thief text line, or you can tweet me
- 18:28Speaker 2: at just the Cat Radio. So, uh, there have been
- 18:32Speaker 2: As we're looking at day two, it is day two,
- 18:35Speaker 2: right of the Whole Melon Mom Chilovich.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Yes, weight day it feels like day one two.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but this is again I've said it before. This
- 18:47Speaker 2: is not as bad as the whole Tyrone Stokes. Uh no,
- 18:50Speaker 2: not even not even not Yeah, And there have been
- 18:54Speaker 2: multiple people that are now saying he is going to
- 19:01Speaker 2: notify whatever school he's going to commit to within the
- 19:04Speaker 2: next few days. I mean you were most of them
- 19:09Speaker 2: are saying it'll be over the weekend. I think it'll
- 19:11Speaker 2: be Sunday. Oh maybe Saturday, but I think by Monday
- 19:18Speaker 2: we will know something. Matt Norlander of CBS Sports is
- 19:22Speaker 2: now predicting UK is the front runner for Milan.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Mom Chilovich.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Says, Saint John's is out, which I was kind of
- 19:31Speaker 2: surprised about. Uh U of L is second, with Arizona
- 19:35Speaker 2: a distant third. I I honestly don't know why he
- 19:41Speaker 2: would go anywhere else, do you other than UK Arizona
- 19:45Speaker 2: would make sense to me? Ya, But he said that's
- 19:47Speaker 2: a distant third though, so I'm with you.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Mom Chilovich said that, or Norlander said that.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Norlander said this, Well, you got to take everything they
- 19:56Speaker 2: say with the grain of salt. I believe everything he's
- 20:00Speaker 2: Are you kidding? He's right about every single thing he
- 20:02Speaker 2: comes out of his mouth.
- 20:04Speaker 4: I'm just kidding.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I mean, with the with the departure of Koop, Arizona
- 20:09Speaker 3: makes sense to me. They have a good coach, Tommy Lloyd.
- 20:12Speaker 3: They've got good returning pieces from last year's team that
- 20:15Speaker 3: was the number one overall team. I just he's gonna
- 20:19Speaker 3: be able to play freely the way he wants. But
- 20:22Speaker 3: everything that I'm saying, you could basically say the exact
- 20:26Speaker 3: same thing about Kentucky with the exception of returning player
- 20:28Speaker 3: other than Maliko.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the only thing.
- 20:32Speaker 3: So but.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Listen, I want to see it happen.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I know it's a lot of pressure on the UK
- 20:40Speaker 2: coaching staff to make certain that they land him because
- 20:43Speaker 2: you know, it's it's an Okay, it's a how would
- 20:47Speaker 2: you describe UK without Mom Chilovitch right now?
- 20:50Speaker 3: As far as the roster, I mean, even with him,
- 20:55Speaker 3: I still don't. I'm still not gonna be convinced that
- 20:57Speaker 3: it's a national championship uster. But without him, I I worry. Again,
- 21:05Speaker 3: we don't know how these pieces are gonna fit together.
- 21:07Speaker 3: But I would worry a little bit.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah I would too, so uh, But I'm feeling more
- 21:13Speaker 2: and more like it's gonna happen, and we'll find out
- 21:16Speaker 2: and buy Monday. That's gonna be the first subject or
- 21:18Speaker 2: we've been talking about, and that'll be a lot of fun.
- 21:20Speaker 3: So you think you think the coaching staff feeling pressure
- 21:23Speaker 3: to land him. Let's see what happens if they do
- 21:27Speaker 3: land him, that's gonna be a whole new type of
- 21:29Speaker 3: pressure because then at that point you're gonna be the win. Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Well, they're expected to win anyway, so it doesn't I
- 21:36Speaker 2: don't think that kind of pressure uh changes at all
- 21:39Speaker 2: there if they get him or don't get them, this
- 21:43Speaker 2: staff is expected to win.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I know there's been a couple of national media guys
- 21:48Speaker 2: saying that if mom Chilovich does go to Kentucky, that
- 21:52Speaker 2: buys Mark Pope another couple of years.
- 21:55Speaker 4: I'm not convinced of that.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I hope that it buys him a lot longer than
- 22:01Speaker 2: that because of the fact if it does, he's winning,
- 22:04Speaker 2: He's succeeding.
- 22:05Speaker 4: I want Mark Pope to succeed.
- 22:07Speaker 2: But if he gets mom Chilovich, I don't think it
- 22:11Speaker 2: buys It buys him.
- 22:13Speaker 4: More time at Kentucky.
- 22:14Speaker 2: If he doesn't succeed with wins next year, I think
- 22:20Speaker 2: that it still puts a lot of pressure on whomever
- 22:24Speaker 2: the new Affleic director is going to be listening. It's
- 22:26Speaker 2: not working, and this is our one of our premier sports.
- 22:30Speaker 2: We need to succeed right now, and I'm going to
- 22:32Speaker 2: get my own guy in here. I think the only
- 22:35Speaker 2: one that's pretty comfortable at UK right now is will
- 22:38Speaker 2: Stein because he's brand new and he's doing a bang
- 22:40Speaker 2: up job as far as recruiting. See what it does
- 22:42Speaker 2: on the field. But right now, you know it's Mark Pope.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I don't think it's it's you know you sit there
- 22:50Speaker 2: and you welcome in the athleic director and think you've
- 22:52Speaker 2: got a couple of years under your belt.
- 22:54Speaker 4: No, that's not the case at all.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I think there he has to prove he's going to
- 22:58Speaker 2: win and has to prove right now is going to win.
- 23:01Speaker 3: How important is and I'll tell you why I'm bringing
- 23:03Speaker 3: this up here in just a second, but how important
- 23:06Speaker 3: is coaching stability for you?
- 23:11Speaker 2: How is important? What do you mean by coaching stability
- 23:13Speaker 2: meaning having a coach for a long time.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I just like that consistency with the same coach
- 23:18Speaker 3: year after year after year.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I think it's extremely important if you want to have
- 23:21Speaker 2: a successful program. If you have, if you're going through
- 23:24Speaker 2: coaches like you go through Diet coach, then you got
- 23:27Speaker 2: a real problem. Yeah, because clearly you're not succeeding. Now,
- 23:31Speaker 2: that was the one thing I complimented Mitch Barnhardt for
- 23:35Speaker 2: a long time.
- 23:37Speaker 4: He was patient with coaches.
- 23:39Speaker 2: If he wasn't patient with with coaches, we would not
- 23:42Speaker 2: have experienced some of the greatest wins we had at
- 23:45Speaker 2: Kentucky under Mark Stoops. Now, granted it was time for
- 23:48Speaker 2: Mark Stoops to leave, and Mitch did the right thing.
- 23:50Speaker 4: He got rid of them.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I think he went a little too long, but he
- 23:55Speaker 2: with with the last basketball coach. But I think unfortunately
- 24:00Speaker 2: the contract that Mitch barnhartfuot in front of that basketball
- 24:05Speaker 2: coach was his biggest mistake. You should never have done that.
- 24:09Speaker 2: But uh, when you're when you're keeping a coach for
- 24:12Speaker 2: a couple of years and get rid of a couple
- 24:13Speaker 2: of years, get rid of them. That's that's just You're
- 24:17Speaker 2: never going to land a coach when you have the
- 24:21Speaker 2: show the consistency of always rotating and going through coaches.
- 24:27Speaker 2: And that's where I think my most my respect has
- 24:30Speaker 2: always gone to. Even though it's a team I don't
- 24:33Speaker 2: really root for at all, I've always appreciated the Pittsburgh
- 24:38Speaker 2: Steelers because of the fact that they have stuck with
- 24:41Speaker 2: their coaches for so long and they have succeeded. And
- 24:45Speaker 2: when you see those teams out there that really just
- 24:49Speaker 2: eat them up, chew them up and throw them out,
- 24:51Speaker 2: the I.
- 24:52Speaker 3: E Indiana basketball.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I hate to say it, it is
- 24:56Speaker 2: Indiana basketball and that's who I'm thinking of, and I
- 24:58Speaker 2: hate to do that to you, but I would have
- 25:02Speaker 2: liked to have seen if they have not gotten I
- 25:05Speaker 2: don't know with Samson, if they would have kept him,
- 25:10Speaker 2: where would Indiana basketball be today? And that that to me.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I think they waited too long on Bobby Knight. They
- 25:20Speaker 2: did what they should have done, and then they made
- 25:25Speaker 2: mistakes after a mistake after a mistake.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Since then, did you think Tom Crean was a good
- 25:31Speaker 4: hire for IU?
- 25:32Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, I mean there are moments even still today
- 25:36Speaker 3: where I think, Man, if you'd have just been patient
- 25:38Speaker 3: with Tom Crean, would how would that have worked out?
- 25:42Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 25:43Speaker 3: But the reason I bring this up because earlier this
- 25:45Speaker 3: week I saw is it Greg Byrne? Is that the
- 25:47Speaker 3: ad at Alabama? Yes?
- 25:49Speaker 2: Right, so he came out. He's a former assistant under
- 25:52Speaker 2: Mitch Barnhart. You know that at UK? I do now, Yeah, but.
- 25:56Speaker 3: No, he came out earlier this week basically talking about
- 25:59Speaker 3: Kaylin de boor in this whole subject, how we we
- 26:01Speaker 3: don't want to get rid of him after three four years,
- 26:04Speaker 3: even if he's not having sable saving level success because
- 26:08Speaker 3: that coaching stability is so important for them. So I
- 26:12Speaker 3: was just curious, your head was not that sort of thing.
- 26:15Speaker 2: You know, who else I think of as far as
- 26:17Speaker 2: football that has made mistake after mistake on coaches and
- 26:21Speaker 2: continually just go through coaches. It's in the SEC. It's Florida.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Florida continues to just go through coaches way too quickly.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Make a good higher and keep that higher you get.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Especially with football, you got to be patient with football.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Football does not happen overnight. Basketball can definitely happen over now.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I think I think that I use the anomaly because
- 26:45Speaker 2: that that that just kind of happened, and a bit
- 26:48Speaker 2: of it. I think you would even admit that with
- 26:51Speaker 2: IU there was a bit of luck there too.
- 26:54Speaker 4: It wasn't there.
- 26:55Speaker 2: It wasn't that Signetti was just this brilliant coach, which
- 26:58Speaker 2: he is, uh and all of a sudden he has
- 27:01Speaker 2: a winning program. I you there's a little luck that
- 27:03Speaker 2: goes with that, because you can you can.
- 27:06Speaker 4: You can blame injury.
- 27:08Speaker 2: You can blame players not turning out all kinds of stuff,
- 27:12Speaker 2: but Signetti.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Brilliant coach, brilliant recruiter, and had some luck.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I think Signetti, if he was here right now, he
- 27:20Speaker 2: would fully admit, yeah, there was luck involved with that
- 27:22Speaker 2: on his success.
- 27:23Speaker 3: After the video I watched yesterday. So I watched his
- 27:26Speaker 3: whole scrum with the media from Hubers from from Wednesday
- 27:30Speaker 3: night yesterday. Yes, man, he that dude, he's kind of
- 27:34Speaker 3: an a hole. He's kind of an a hole. Why
- 27:39Speaker 3: why is he tell me what they were asking him
- 27:42Speaker 3: all about, like the college football stuff, like what needs
- 27:46Speaker 3: the change and all that, and he he allowed him
- 27:48Speaker 3: to ask two or three questions and then finally he
- 27:50Speaker 3: was just like, Gouys, I'm done. He was like, I'm
- 27:52Speaker 3: done answering questions about the college football playoff and all.
- 27:56Speaker 3: He was like, I don't have any control, so I'm
- 27:58Speaker 3: not even talking about it. I was like, hey, Signetti.
- 28:01Speaker 4: See now, wait a minute. Now.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I would get to a point and say I would
- 28:05Speaker 2: be flustered, and I don't blame him for that. I'm
- 28:07Speaker 2: not a fan of Signetti. I admire him, but I
- 28:11Speaker 2: don't blame him for stopping that.
- 28:12Speaker 3: He came back later in the in the scrum and
- 28:15Speaker 3: I can't can't remember what question was asked to him,
- 28:17Speaker 3: but he was asked a question and he was real
- 28:19Speaker 3: quick to pan it off and be like, yeah, I'm
- 28:23Speaker 3: not talking about that, Like, well.
- 28:24Speaker 2: You know, it's interesting, it's interesting you bring that up,
- 28:27Speaker 2: because that was one of the topics I brought up today.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Kirk Signetti made the comment that college football will not
- 28:34Speaker 2: exist the way we're going right now, and he said
- 28:37Speaker 2: that it Hubert's and it has gone literally national at Hubers,
- 28:43Speaker 2: which I thought, that's that's pretty cool. Uh do you
- 28:47Speaker 2: think do you think he's right? First of all, yes,
- 28:50Speaker 2: I do too. It's not sustainable at all. It's going
- 28:54Speaker 2: to get too expensive for schools and all these players
- 28:57Speaker 2: are going to price themselves out of a job because
- 29:00Speaker 2: they're going to want more and more and more and more,
- 29:02Speaker 2: and it's going to get to a point where guess what,
- 29:04Speaker 2: you're kind of like U of L and you spit
- 29:06Speaker 2: more than you can afford. And now we're letting off
- 29:09Speaker 2: other employees and staff at universities.
- 29:12Speaker 4: I'm not picking on U of.
- 29:13Speaker 2: L again, though, but it's it's happening all over the
- 29:16Speaker 2: country where there is, wouldn't it Syracuse that's really had
- 29:20Speaker 2: an issue with it. I know there's some other big,
- 29:22Speaker 2: big schools up in the Northeast that.
- 29:25Speaker 4: That are like we're at the what's in on how
- 29:28Speaker 4: to handle this?
- 29:30Speaker 2: My question though, is will the players work with the
- 29:33Speaker 2: schools or will the players just be too selfish and say,
- 29:37Speaker 2: now you've got to give me money and I don't
- 29:39Speaker 2: care about anything else. See that's the part I worry about.
- 29:43Speaker 2: You're working with young athletes that are too immature to
- 29:47Speaker 2: understand that, you know what, for the better of the sport,
- 29:51Speaker 2: for the better of the school. I can't take as
- 29:54Speaker 2: much as I'm asking. Maybe I should take a little
- 29:57Speaker 2: more so we can spread the wealth.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Well, they're too immature to understand all that. But yet
- 30:01Speaker 3: we are allowing these agents, nineteen twenty year old kids
- 30:05Speaker 3: to name their what they think their value is, and
- 30:08Speaker 3: that's what we're paying them. Like there's that's the frustrating
- 30:11Speaker 3: thing about the whole NILS. We've completely gone away from
- 30:14Speaker 3: what it was supposed to be and now it's just
- 30:17Speaker 3: here's my price, take it or leave it. I'll come
- 30:19Speaker 3: play for you if you give it to me. If not,
- 30:21Speaker 3: I'll go find somebody that will.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Well, you can say the player, but you can also
- 30:25Speaker 2: blame the agents as well. Sure, the agents I think
- 30:29Speaker 2: are equally, if not more guilty, because they're trying to
- 30:31Speaker 2: get not only more money for their player, but also
- 30:37Speaker 2: they're trying to get more money in their own pocket.
- 30:40Speaker 2: And that's that's the part I worry about the most.
- 30:43Speaker 2: It's not just the players, it's the agents that are
- 30:46Speaker 2: going to be ruining the sport.
- 30:48Speaker 4: And I hope it ends. I mean, I am really concerned.
- 30:54Speaker 2: And if Signetti's saying it and other coaches are saying it,
- 30:58Speaker 2: it's making me really worried as far as I'm concerned.
- 31:00Speaker 4: So all right, we got to take another break.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Let's talk about somebody said yesterday in a interview that
- 31:08Speaker 2: this is that Commonwealth Stadium is their favorite stadium. I
- 31:12Speaker 2: was really surprised by this. I don't know if you've
- 31:14Speaker 2: seen this or not. Don't give me that look. I
- 31:17Speaker 2: think it's the greatest country. You just gave me the look.
- 31:21Speaker 3: People can't see me. You can. You're making stuff up.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I didn't give you a look.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Oh you gate, well, you gave the desk a look
- 31:28Speaker 2: then okay, But we'll talk about that next you stay
- 31:31Speaker 2: right and in all the looks that justin. You know what,
- 31:34Speaker 2: next week we're going back on YouTube so people can
- 31:36Speaker 2: see the looks that that you give me. Okay, so
- 31:39Speaker 2: I won't be lying here I anyway? All right five
- 31:43Speaker 2: with two four fourteen fifty, send your text in and
- 31:46Speaker 2: i'll uh well, we'll get to those as well as
- 31:48Speaker 2: soon as we get back Stay right there more justic
- 31:50Speaker 2: Cats coming on.
- 32:07Speaker 1: This Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.

- 32:38Speaker 3: I send him to meet and he's just never hopped
- 32:41Speaker 3: back in, So welcome back in here, just the Cat's
- 32:44Speaker 3: final hour of the week. As we get you set
- 32:48Speaker 3: for the weekend, you got bat Cats coming up. I'm
- 32:50Speaker 3: sure we're going to get into a bunch of other

- 32:58Speaker 3: pop open the game day or the Whiskey Thief text
- 33:01Speaker 3: line here. See what you all got to say there?
- 33:03Speaker 2: He is.
- 33:03Speaker 3: All right, let's get Michael in and there is Michael Bennett. Michael,
- 33:07Speaker 3: welcome in our number two of Just the Cats. Appreciate
- 33:09Speaker 3: you joining us. No, you're not even ready. I mean
- 33:12Speaker 3: it's nine o five.
- 33:13Speaker 4: I am ready, are ready?
- 33:15Speaker 3: We start the second hour nine oh four. Every single
- 33:18Speaker 3: day here you are nine o five?
- 33:20Speaker 4: All right, all right?
- 33:21Speaker 2: Do you want to know why I'm tardy? No, some
- 33:27Speaker 2: nature called. Okay, just let you know. The stomach is
- 33:30Speaker 2: killing me today, so I apologize for that.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I get crappy.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Well, but it's okay, all right, fine, all right, that's
- 33:40Speaker 2: just enough. Just what did you think about the game
- 33:43Speaker 2: last night?
- 33:43Speaker 3: Uh?
- 33:44Speaker 4: Oklahoma City versus San Antonio.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Boring, like every game this series, And you.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Know, there's two sides of what's going on. Some people
- 33:55Speaker 2: like the hard fouls that Sheen Gilgess is getting. Now
- 33:58Speaker 2: some people are just absolutely going nuts because he's getting
- 34:02Speaker 2: some really hard fouls. He's not doing all the flopping
- 34:05Speaker 2: and stuff. It got to him last night. It clearly
- 34:08Speaker 2: got to him because he didn't play a great game.
- 34:10Speaker 2: But I don't know, do you do you like it
- 34:12Speaker 2: when the game is played like that? And I'm I
- 34:16Speaker 2: don't know if I can give an unbiased answer because
- 34:18Speaker 2: I like Shae. I mean, I'm a big fan of
- 34:20Speaker 2: say gilgistide of Sander, but I don't like what San
- 34:23Speaker 2: Antonio was doing last night.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I mean, just squat there and play a normal game.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I mean, just and you know, I'm like you justin
- 34:30Speaker 2: I wish Shaye would not flop because I do not
- 34:35Speaker 2: like flopping. I think it's the worst part that's been
- 34:39Speaker 2: added to basketball and it should not be allowed in
- 34:42Speaker 2: the game.
- 34:43Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's really hard for me to answer
- 34:45Speaker 3: as well, because I fall in a similar mindset as you.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I do like Shae. I think at times he can
- 34:51Speaker 3: be a lot of fun to watch, but I have
- 34:54Speaker 3: kind of grown tired of the whole just always hitting
- 34:56Speaker 3: the I mean, it feels like he spends more time
- 34:58Speaker 3: on the floor than he does on his feet, and
- 35:00Speaker 3: part of that is, I think his fault. And then
- 35:03Speaker 3: part of that is also the way that the Spurs
- 35:06Speaker 3: have been defending him as well. So it's tough for
- 35:08Speaker 3: me to answer that. Honestly, Yeah it is for me too.
- 35:12Speaker 3: But I mean they were really and Wimby. Even the
- 35:17Speaker 3: TV announcers were picking on Wimby saying, you know, he
- 35:21Speaker 3: saw him, you know, saying a little something to a
- 35:24Speaker 3: couple of the San Antonio players. They get out there
- 35:27Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, they're banging all over Shay,
- 35:30Speaker 3: and so clearly that's been a strategy that's been written
- 35:35Speaker 3: by the players and or the coaches are all the
- 35:38Speaker 3: above to go after Shade in that manner, and I
- 35:41Speaker 3: just I just don't think it's a part of the game,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and I wish they would stop that. But can I
- 35:46Speaker 3: ask you something that really bothered me last night? Absolutely
- 35:50Speaker 3: so Stefan Castle the place for the Spurs. And I
- 35:53Speaker 3: ranted on this a little bit on my show this morning,
- 35:55Speaker 3: but I listened to a little bit of the game
- 35:57Speaker 3: via the radio and they were calling him Castle. Then
- 36:02Speaker 3: I'll listen to the TV broadcast and lo and behold,
- 36:05Speaker 3: Reggie Miller is calling him Steph Castle. Yeah, there's already
- 36:10Speaker 3: a Steph. He can't be Steph Castle. His name is Stefan.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Oh.
- 36:17Speaker 2: So you have a problem because they're shortening it, even
- 36:20Speaker 2: though he might have been going by Steph all his life,
- 36:23Speaker 2: and now all of a sudden, you're not into it
- 36:26Speaker 2: because he's going it's after Steph Curry.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Steph Curry is one of the best players in NBA history.
- 36:32Speaker 3: You can't change your name a year into your career
- 36:36Speaker 3: and all of a sudden start going by.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Steph oh really, Okay, if that was the case, then
- 36:40Speaker 2: we should go back and talk and call John Johnny
- 36:43Speaker 2: Couger Johnny Couger and not John Mellencamp.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I agree.
- 36:46Speaker 4: So that's the way it is.
- 36:47Speaker 3: I agree, really really you agree with that? How would
- 36:50Speaker 3: you ever take Couger out of your name? Nice?
- 36:54Speaker 4: That wasn't his real name the label.
- 36:57Speaker 2: The label insisted that he be Johnny Couger, not John Mellencamp.
- 37:03Speaker 3: I think that's a more cool name. I think that
- 37:08Speaker 3: like that would sell more albums that they like.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Okay, because my name is Michael.
- 37:13Speaker 2: If I'd have made the NBA, I would not be
- 37:17Speaker 2: allowed to call myself Michael. I should be called Mike
- 37:20Speaker 2: Bennett because of Michael Jordan.
- 37:23Speaker 4: No.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I mean, I think MJ is more synonymous with Michael
- 37:27Speaker 3: than Michael.
- 37:28Speaker 4: I disagree. I think a lot of them go by Michael.
- 37:32Speaker 3: You might be right there. I don't know.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you're telling me because his name is more unusual
- 37:37Speaker 2: with Steph, he can't be called Steph, even though probably
- 37:40Speaker 2: he's gone by Steph for a majority of his life.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I'm just saying I don't like it. Okay, there's only
- 37:47Speaker 2: one Steph. Okay, Well, I'm glad. Hopefully you meet her
- 37:51Speaker 2: one day and she'll marry you. So I don't know
- 37:52Speaker 2: if that's the case or not. But uh, you know,
- 37:55Speaker 2: Steph can go either way. It could be Stephanie or
- 37:58Speaker 2: it could be Stephan or Steven.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I mean, is is there if there's a Stephen that
- 38:05Speaker 3: goes by Steph, that's that would cross the line?
- 38:08Speaker 2: Why why would it is?
- 38:12Speaker 4: Is Steph Curry's real name stephan or do you know?
- 38:16Speaker 3: Great question? I don't know.
- 38:17Speaker 4: There we go again. You better watch what you say.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Why can't you go by Steph if your name is
- 38:23Speaker 2: Stephen because some people spell it s t E v
- 38:26Speaker 2: e N.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Some of them spell it s t E p h
- 38:29Speaker 4: e N.
- 38:31Speaker 3: If you okay, if you're a Steven with a V
- 38:33Speaker 3: and you shorten it to Steph.
- 38:35Speaker 4: That feels that's different.
- 38:37Speaker 2: That's step Steph here, yeah, yeah, you gotta emphasize the
- 38:41Speaker 2: V there, okay, step the But no, I mean, why
- 38:45Speaker 2: why can't he be Steph if he's a.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Stephen p h?
- 38:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I just it really bothered you night, All right? Then
- 38:51Speaker 2: here we go again. Something's gotta bother you. If Kentucky
- 38:55Speaker 2: can leet Land Milan Mam Chilovic, then they are at
- 38:59Speaker 2: top ten team coming into next season, or just right
- 39:03Speaker 2: outside that ranking, they would be considered a title contender.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I also believe Justin McBride will be looked at one
- 39:10Speaker 2: of the most improved players in all of college basketball.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I agree with the Justin McBride take.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Do you but you don't believe anything else he says
- 39:20Speaker 2: about a top ten team in a championship consider contender.
- 39:29Speaker 3: It's really hard to say somebody right outside the top
- 39:32Speaker 3: ten isn't a championship contender. If you get mom Chilovich,
- 39:37Speaker 3: I would put Kentucky right around fifteen, sixteen, somewhere in
- 39:41Speaker 3: that range. But then again, all of that can change
- 39:44Speaker 3: in what six short months when we see this team
- 39:47Speaker 3: on the floor. Let me ask you the right to
- 39:50Speaker 3: change my pin. All right, So in the rankings, when
- 39:53Speaker 3: you get the top twenty five. Of those top twenty five,
- 39:57Speaker 3: who do you consider title contenders for next year?
- 40:02Speaker 4: No? No, no, Just anytime the rankings come out.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Typically the top eight, top ten, it is okay, So
- 40:10Speaker 3: it won't it's not in the top fifteen.
- 40:12Speaker 4: You don't consider ten to fifteen title contenders.
- 40:15Speaker 3: No, because every year, I mean historically with the NCAA tournament,
- 40:20Speaker 3: you're you're a top two seed win.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Yes, historically you are correct. There are those anomalies out there,
- 40:27Speaker 2: but they're few and far between, so I would agree
- 40:30Speaker 2: with that. It's top ten you're a title contender. If
- 40:32Speaker 2: you're outside of that, you're not a contender.
- 40:34Speaker 3: But they can play their way into that. For sure.
- 40:37Speaker 4: Absolutely, it could change.
- 40:38Speaker 2: I mean because the top twenty five certainly didn't end
- 40:41Speaker 2: up being the top twenty five at the end of
- 40:42Speaker 2: the year last year, and it never does. So we'll
- 40:46Speaker 2: have to see. I think within I think within the SEC.
- 40:50Speaker 2: How many title contenders are there within the SEC for
- 40:53Speaker 2: basketball next year?
- 40:55Speaker 3: I mean the immediate one has got to be Florida.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Oh yea absolutely. A lot of people are picking them
- 41:01Speaker 4: number one.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of people national media are picking them
- 41:05Speaker 2: number one already.
- 41:06Speaker 4: For next year.
- 41:07Speaker 3: I mean you they kept their three headed, big man
- 41:09Speaker 3: like houseback, Condon's back.
- 41:11Speaker 4: And that's insane exactly. It is insane.
- 41:15Speaker 2: And and Todd Golden has going on. I mean, you
- 41:18Speaker 2: can lover or hate Todd Golden, but man, he's got
- 41:21Speaker 2: it going on. Who would have ever dreamed that Florida
- 41:25Speaker 2: would be as dominant as they are not just in
- 41:29Speaker 2: the SEC, but nationally, and they are certainly the talk
- 41:33Speaker 2: of the town as far as uh basketball.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Uh?
- 41:37Speaker 2: Is there anybody else within the SEC you see as
- 41:40Speaker 2: title contenders?
- 41:42Speaker 3: I would not be surprised at all if Texas made
- 41:45Speaker 3: some noise. And I know that's a surprising answer, but
- 41:48Speaker 3: yeah it is. They got David Punch from TCU, that
- 41:51Speaker 3: kid's awesome, Boca Titus is back, they they had a
- 41:54Speaker 3: really good haul in the off season, so I would
- 41:56Speaker 3: not be surprised at all to see them make noise. Alabama,
- 41:59Speaker 3: I don't don't know what they've got left. I know
- 42:02Speaker 3: Charrell left, he's he's up in Indiana now, but Brandon
- 42:06Speaker 3: Garrison's there right, Isn't that where he went?
- 42:08Speaker 2: So they're not a How about Tennessee? People are gonna
- 42:15Speaker 2: laugh at me for saying this, but Tennessee no, The
- 42:20Speaker 2: answer is no.
- 42:22Speaker 3: I would probably say no as well. Yeah, I mean
- 42:24Speaker 3: they never made a Final four, so so.
- 42:28Speaker 2: They're only one team that you say, and that's Florida.
- 42:31Speaker 2: So Kentucky's out, Tennessee's.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Out is the only guarantee right now, unless there's somebody
- 42:38Speaker 3: that I'm completely forgetting.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Well, who do you.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Think will be the second best team in the SEC.
- 42:44Speaker 2: You didn't even mention Arkansas either, So I Arkansas really? Okay?
- 42:51Speaker 3: I believe in this Texas team.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Man, Okay, good for you. All right, let's tuck football.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Who do you think has the title? Can tendor contender
- 43:01Speaker 2: honor within SEC football this coming season? I think there's
- 43:05Speaker 2: a number one? Okay, Georgia, Yes, I think Texas is
- 43:09Speaker 2: up there? Yes, Alabama maybe, I don't know.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I don't. I don't really have all that much faith
- 43:18Speaker 3: in calen Den.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I don't either, And I've got that problem. Do you
- 43:21Speaker 2: think John Summer will get it going on in Florida?
- 43:24Speaker 2: I don't think his first year.
- 43:25Speaker 4: I I don't.
- 43:26Speaker 2: As far as title, I would definitely say A and
- 43:31Speaker 2: M is a good choice right there. I would definitely
- 43:34Speaker 2: include them as far as that goes. Do we dare say?
- 43:39Speaker 2: Can you put no?
- 43:41Speaker 3: No?
- 43:42Speaker 4: Let me finish.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Exactly what you're gonna say? No?
- 43:45Speaker 4: Can we dare put South Carolina in there?
- 43:48Speaker 3: That's not where you were going?
- 43:52Speaker 4: Is Vanderbilt outside looking in?
- 43:54Speaker 3: Oh? You were going Vanderbilt? Okay?
- 43:56Speaker 2: Oh?
- 43:56Speaker 4: Who'd you think?
- 43:57Speaker 3: I said?
- 43:57Speaker 2: I thought you were going to LSU there. No, I
- 44:00Speaker 2: was not going to kick nause. Truthfully, I was going
- 44:02Speaker 2: out of Vanderbilt. Do you think I don't think Vanderbilt
- 44:06Speaker 2: is a title contender? But I really think they're outside looking.
- 44:09Speaker 3: In time out starting back to basketball. How could I
- 44:13Speaker 3: forget Vanderbilt? I think Vanderbilt. I don't know that I'm
- 44:17Speaker 3: willing to say they're a title contender right now, but
- 44:21Speaker 3: if I see them, when I see them on the
- 44:23Speaker 3: floor together, I would not be surprised if they end
- 44:25Speaker 3: up being that. With Tyler Tanner coming back, that's huge
- 44:28Speaker 3: for them. That kid's awesome.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there with you, and that's been a
- 44:34Speaker 2: bit of a surprise.
- 44:35Speaker 4: But uh, all right, let's get back to the whiskey
- 44:37Speaker 4: thief text on.
- 44:38Speaker 2: One person said Michael, I know there are a lot
- 44:40Speaker 2: of fans that want Pope gone. If he gets Mam Chilovich,
- 44:44Speaker 2: this will be his best team higher Crawford and Land
- 44:48Speaker 2: some twenty twenty seven recruits, and let's go fan of
- 44:50Speaker 2: hope here.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Uh I agree? Best team?
- 44:56Speaker 4: Do you really?
- 44:58Speaker 2: I still think last year was the best team on paper,
- 45:01Speaker 2: but it didn't turn out to be that way, and
- 45:03Speaker 2: injury really played havoc with that as well. I did
- 45:06Speaker 2: not look at last year and think that was a
- 45:08Speaker 2: better team than this coming year.
- 45:10Speaker 3: If you had a full bill of health last year, yeah,
- 45:12Speaker 3: that would have been the best team, but you didn't,
- 45:14Speaker 3: So you're right.
- 45:16Speaker 2: But I'm looking at it from the perspective of we're
- 45:18Speaker 2: looking at this team right now. So last year, looking
- 45:22Speaker 2: at this team right now, it was Mark Pope's best
- 45:25Speaker 2: team ever that he had compiled. And this year, yeah,
- 45:31Speaker 2: I mean I look at it and think it's a
- 45:33Speaker 2: pretty good team. I'm just not willing to say yes
- 45:36Speaker 2: yet until I see them play a few games and
- 45:40Speaker 2: how well this team is going to gel, how well
- 45:43Speaker 2: Mark Pope is going to be coaching out there, how
- 45:46Speaker 2: well the new coaching staff is going to help, because
- 45:48Speaker 2: you know, a lot of people have completely forgotten there's
- 45:53Speaker 2: a brand new assistant coach staff that Mark Pope has.
- 45:56Speaker 2: That's that's kind of gutsy to do that in year two.
- 45:59Speaker 2: I like it, but it can hurt, So we'll see
- 46:04Speaker 2: how that turns out.
- 46:05Speaker 4: But that's a great question right there.
- 46:07Speaker 3: I've said multiple times, and I'll probably say it multiple
- 46:10Speaker 3: more before we get to the season. But it felt
- 46:13Speaker 3: like on last year's team you had a lot of egos,
- 46:15Speaker 3: whereas this year's team. I don't feel like you're gonna
- 46:18Speaker 3: have a lot of egos. You're just gonna have guys
- 46:20Speaker 3: hungry to go out there and play basketball and succeed.
- 46:22Speaker 3: I think they will.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Uh what person said, who is noon?
- 46:27Speaker 3: Now?
- 46:28Speaker 2: Noon is no One? Well, then God put some space
- 46:32Speaker 2: in it. No one is not spelled in oo n E.
- 46:39Speaker 2: I love how people are. Then they make fun of
- 46:41Speaker 2: me for reading it that way.
- 46:44Speaker 4: It's noon?
- 46:46Speaker 3: So what's the text again? Go back and read the
- 46:48Speaker 3: text again?
- 46:48Speaker 2: With that, I only know where the text is it
- 46:50Speaker 2: does it really matter anymore? I mean, at this point,
- 46:53Speaker 2: I have no I don't even see it. Where Where
- 46:56Speaker 2: do you think this noon is came from?
- 46:58Speaker 3: Josh? Right?
- 46:59Speaker 4: It did?
- 47:00Speaker 2: Okay, I'll look up Josh all right, Um, no, it
- 47:05Speaker 2: didn't come from Josh. Well, I'll look for it during
- 47:07Speaker 2: the break. I'm not gonna sit here and look for
- 47:09Speaker 2: it right now. But I appreciate the clarification there. Does
- 47:11Speaker 2: this guy have access to our text line? That's what
- 47:14Speaker 2: I want to know, because he's right. But how do
- 47:17Speaker 2: you spell no One? Is it one word or two words?
- 47:20Speaker 3: Two words?
- 47:22Speaker 4: Thank you? It is two words?
- 47:24Speaker 2: So, by the way, speaking of not being able to spell.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Did you see where the spelling Bee, the ninety eighth
- 47:34Speaker 2: Annual Spelling Bee, was yesterday.
- 47:36Speaker 3: I did see that.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Yeah, to eighteen rounds and went to a spell off
- 47:44Speaker 2: while the winner, shrey Perikh, set a new record by
- 47:49Speaker 2: correctly spelling Are you ready for this? He correctly spelled
- 47:53Speaker 2: thirty two words in ninety seconds.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Holy moly. Can you imagine they normally seconds just to
- 48:00Speaker 3: get the language of origin and pronunciation.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Listen, I'm just take me ninety seconds just to make
- 48:06Speaker 2: sure I'm saying the right name for you. I mean,
- 48:08Speaker 2: that's I have a problem with that, all right. The
- 48:11Speaker 2: correct word that he spelled that won him are you
- 48:14Speaker 2: that won him some serious cash was bramo cryptem.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Oh I got this?
- 48:21Speaker 4: Do you really?
- 48:22Speaker 3: I got it?
- 48:23Speaker 4: Bramo crypt You got it in front of you? I'm
- 48:25Speaker 4: ready spell it?
- 48:26Speaker 3: B r O m O am I right? So far?
- 48:30Speaker 4: Keep going? C R y P t I N E corrupt,
- 48:35Speaker 4: uh incorrect?
- 48:37Speaker 3: What what I missed?
- 48:39Speaker 4: B R M O correct? C R I oh P
- 48:44Speaker 4: t I N It.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Doesn't make sense. That should be a y. Yeah, that
- 48:49Speaker 3: was the only one I missed though. That's pretty good.
- 48:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the only one you miss right there
- 48:54Speaker 4: in fifth grade.
- 48:55Speaker 3: No big deal?
- 48:56Speaker 4: Oh did you really?
- 48:57Speaker 3: Okay?
- 48:57Speaker 2: Well, congratulations, that was what two years ago, Bramo, kryptine?
- 49:01Speaker 4: Do you have any idea what it is?
- 49:04Speaker 3: Sounds like something they put in shampoo. Oh, that's a
- 49:08Speaker 3: great guess. It's incorrect, but it's a prescription medication. And
- 49:13Speaker 3: I'm like, why are we asking them to spell prescription medications?
- 49:17Speaker 3: The other part that concerns me how did he know
- 49:19Speaker 3: how to spell it? So?
- 49:21Speaker 2: I mean, it's a dopamine. So yeah, yeah, that's what
- 49:25Speaker 2: I thought too. It was like, okay, well I nailed
- 49:27Speaker 2: it with the shampoo.
- 49:28Speaker 4: G No, that was pretty good.
- 49:30Speaker 3: I ever, when I was a kid, I would look
- 49:32Speaker 3: at the back of the shampoo bottles when I was
- 49:33Speaker 3: in the shower. Why because I would so hang with
- 49:38Speaker 3: me here. I was always trying to track down the
- 49:41Speaker 3: longest word on the back of the shampoo bottle, and
- 49:44Speaker 3: it was always it was forty one letters. I cannot remember.
- 49:48Speaker 3: It was like hydro something something. I can't remember the
- 49:52Speaker 3: word now, but I used to know it and I
- 49:53Speaker 3: used to know how to spell it. But it was
- 49:54Speaker 3: forty one letters.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Forty one letters. Yeah, waw, that's amazing.
- 50:01Speaker 3: I drove proxy chloride. Blah blah blah. It was. It
- 50:05Speaker 3: was a long one.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's more letters into the alphabet by
- 50:11Speaker 2: a bunch.
- 50:13Speaker 4: Wow.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Okay, well, I'm I'm somewhat impressed by that. All right,
- 50:17Speaker 2: we got to take another break. When we come back.
- 50:19Speaker 2: We got to talk about the viewership for the five
- 50:22Speaker 2: hundred plus. SEC Commissioner Greg Sanki had some interesting things
- 50:27Speaker 2: to say that's making everybody outside the SEC just go bonkers.
- 50:32Speaker 2: We'll talk about that next to stay right there. A
- 50:34Speaker 2: lot more justic CAAT's coming up. Okay, And I'm the
- 51:29Speaker 2: only one has to endure all that kind of singing
- 51:31Speaker 2: right there in the background, and you have yourself muted.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Okay, thanks.
- 51:34Speaker 3: You're a lucky guy, Michael Bennett.
- 51:36Speaker 2: I'm the luckiest guy in the world, I'll tell you
- 51:39Speaker 2: right now, because I get to work with Justin Kaylin
- 51:41Speaker 2: on a daily basis. But all right, let's let's talk
- 51:45Speaker 2: about this for a second before we get back to
- 51:46Speaker 2: the whiskey thief text line five two fifty uh. SEC Commissioner,
- 51:51Speaker 2: I know you're gonna love this. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankie
- 51:54Speaker 2: stated at the Spring meetings this week that the sec
- 51:59Speaker 2: current meet deal, which as you know, is a ten
- 52:03Speaker 2: year agreement with ESPN worth seven hundred and ten million
- 52:08Speaker 2: dollars per year. Was are you ready undervalued? He said that,
- 52:16Speaker 2: He said that, He said it was undervalued again, a
- 52:20Speaker 2: ten year deal worth seven hundred and ten million a year.
- 52:23Speaker 2: ABC did report that across the forty two Saturday college
- 52:27Speaker 2: football TV window last season that includes the noon, the
- 52:33Speaker 2: mid afternoon, and the primetime game, ABC had the most
- 52:37Speaker 2: watch games thirty four of the forty two.
- 52:42Speaker 3: So how much money did that equate to?
- 52:45Speaker 2: Well, no, it's still the same amount of money. They're
- 52:47Speaker 2: still getting seven hundred ten That didn't equate to any money.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Now, my question was more so, how much money did
- 52:51Speaker 3: that generate for the station?
- 52:53Speaker 4: Oh, I can't answer that.
- 52:54Speaker 3: I have no idea because that's the only way you
- 52:57Speaker 3: could figure out the Yeah, it was undervalue.
- 53:00Speaker 2: But this is why Sanki believes that he's undervalue that
- 53:03Speaker 2: it's it's worth a lot more. And he's always saying, listen,
- 53:06Speaker 2: I always want to keep a little bit there for
- 53:08Speaker 2: everybody else. So he's you know, credit to him for
- 53:11Speaker 2: saying it, and he's backing it up with the numbers. Now, whatever,
- 53:15Speaker 2: ABC made, ESPN made. I just don't know, but I
- 53:21Speaker 2: found that pretty incredible when he said that. Of course,
- 53:25Speaker 2: everybody else out theide of the SEC is like, oh,
- 53:28Speaker 2: this is just getting old, this is overrated, this is
- 53:31Speaker 2: a you name it. That's what they're saying about the SEC.
- 53:34Speaker 2: But if you back it up by these numbers, you
- 53:35Speaker 2: can't argue with it.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I don't really have an issue with it.
- 53:39Speaker 4: You don't really know. I thought you would.
- 53:42Speaker 2: No.
- 53:42Speaker 3: I mean, if he thinks it's undervalue, then he thinks
- 53:44Speaker 3: it's undervalue. There's nothing I can do or say to
- 53:46Speaker 3: change his opinion.
- 53:47Speaker 2: No, it's not going to change or do anything. And
- 53:49Speaker 2: you're you're exactly correct. So all right, today UK Baseball
- 53:55Speaker 2: will play at noon, so just a couple hours after
- 53:58Speaker 2: the show is over, So two and a half hours
- 53:59Speaker 2: a way. Uh in the West Virginia Regional up in Morgantown,
- 54:06Speaker 2: West Virginia, they're gonna play Wake Forest on ESPN two.
- 54:09Speaker 2: I didn't look this morning, but the starting pitchers were
- 54:15Speaker 2: not going to be announced until today, so I don't
- 54:19Speaker 2: know who's pitching. And that's both UK and Wake Forest
- 54:22Speaker 2: that are doing this. So do you call that a
- 54:24Speaker 2: little gamemanship that they're trying to play coaches trying to
- 54:28Speaker 2: hold back on who they're gonna be pitching today, or
- 54:30Speaker 2: do you think it's just par.
- 54:33Speaker 3: I think that's kind of silly because I feel like
- 54:35Speaker 3: both of these teams know exactly who's gonna be pitching.
- 54:39Speaker 3: I feel why would you not throw your ace in
- 54:41Speaker 3: the first game of a region.
- 54:44Speaker 2: You have to, I mean with something like this that
- 54:46Speaker 2: they have to pitch the best pitcher out there. So
- 54:50Speaker 2: are we gonna leave our predictions for before the end
- 54:53Speaker 2: of the show or do you should we talk about
- 54:55Speaker 2: them now? I got the Cats winning, baby, Okay, that's
- 55:00Speaker 2: not good. All right, Well I got the Cats losing.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Then if that's the case, if you're picking them to win,
- 55:06Speaker 2: I don't feel so good about this.
- 55:09Speaker 4: That's the really because.
- 55:11Speaker 2: They didn't play the they didn't finish the season off well.
- 55:14Speaker 2: They lost the game against Van Belt in the SEC tournament,
- 55:17Speaker 2: and uh, you know, all they've min June says all
- 55:20Speaker 2: they've thought about, we're gonna win this game.
- 55:21Speaker 4: We're gonna win this game. I hope they do.
- 55:23Speaker 2: I mean this it's a fresh starts, a brand new seasons.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Seen anybody like Jackson joking.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Okay, all right, well that's great. I'm glad you feel
- 55:32Speaker 4: that way.
- 55:32Speaker 2: I don't think you really do, but uh uh, it's
- 55:36Speaker 2: it's gonna be interesting. I uh, I don't feel good
- 55:39Speaker 2: about it, even though I feel like this is a
- 55:41Speaker 2: regional that really matches well for UK.
- 55:44Speaker 4: I feel like it's a region that they can get
- 55:47Speaker 4: out of.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Yeah, now, well they go. It is winnable and I
- 55:51Speaker 2: hope that they do. We'll just have to see.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Now.
- 55:54Speaker 2: Uh talking about UK for a little bit. A former
- 55:58Speaker 2: are you ready for this? Arian Foster, who used to
- 56:01Speaker 2: play for University of Tennessee, made a statement on a
- 56:05Speaker 2: Sparstooal podcast this week that Commonwealth Stadium is his favorite
- 56:11Speaker 2: stadium outside of Nail and Field.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Of course I saw that.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Well, if you remember, he played against Rich Brooks, so
- 56:26Speaker 2: we're talking two thousand and seven era, and every time
- 56:30Speaker 2: he came to Lexington, of course, Tennessee would win, and
- 56:35Speaker 2: it was a game that went deep, the one that
- 56:39Speaker 2: he was referring to in two thousand and seven. And
- 56:42Speaker 2: he did mention Wesley Woodyard because he really likes Wesley
- 56:47Speaker 2: Woodyard and said he played against him in the NFL
- 56:50Speaker 2: and he loves the color blue. He goes, there's something
- 56:54Speaker 2: about the color blue and the great overcast and the
- 56:58Speaker 2: white uniforms at Tennessee wore that game that year that
- 57:02Speaker 2: he just loved. So I was kind of surprised that
- 57:06Speaker 2: a Tennessee player is admitting how much he loves the
- 57:09Speaker 2: color blue.
- 57:10Speaker 3: It kind of feels like he's taken shots.
- 57:13Speaker 4: I don't think.
- 57:14Speaker 2: I did not take it that way. I listened to
- 57:16Speaker 2: the interview and it sounded like he was being sincere.
- 57:19Speaker 2: And it probably is a fond memory that particular game,
- 57:22Speaker 2: because that was the one where you don't remember, but
- 57:25Speaker 2: I certainly do, where Tennessee and Kentucky went to four
- 57:28Speaker 2: overtimes with Tennessee finally winning. It was a chance for
- 57:32Speaker 2: Tennessee to go to the SEC Championship game and UK
- 57:36Speaker 2: to get their first eight win season since in regular
- 57:40Speaker 2: season since nineteen eighty four. And that was with Rich Brooks,
- 57:44Speaker 2: And that was the whole Randall Cobb. That was the
- 57:47Speaker 2: actual game. I kept asking Coach Brooks when he came
- 57:51Speaker 2: on the radio with me, should you have kept Randall
- 57:54Speaker 2: Cobb in? And I'm telling you you've heard me. I
- 57:57Speaker 2: think I talked about this week how he the death
- 58:00Speaker 2: look he gave me.
- 58:02Speaker 4: I swear he was.
- 58:04Speaker 2: His eyes were turning into fire and going through me
- 58:07Speaker 2: because he hated that question. But it was a simple question.
- 58:12Speaker 2: He took out Randall Cobb, and I've never understood why
- 58:17Speaker 2: the answer he gave me, I didn't understand.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Why didn't want to answer.
- 58:22Speaker 2: No, he didn't want to because I know I'm not
- 58:25Speaker 2: a coach. That was just a simple question, though, Why
- 58:27Speaker 2: did you take out Randall Cobb? We were winning the
- 58:29Speaker 2: game and you took him out and we.
- 58:30Speaker 4: Lost the game. Ah, but that was just a killer.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I mean it really was, because you know, Randall Cobb
- 58:37Speaker 2: wanted that game more than anybody because he's from the
- 58:41Speaker 2: Knox Hilaria exactly. Phil Falmer never recruited him, and he
- 58:44Speaker 2: wanted to get back at Fat Phil. So I mean,
- 58:46Speaker 2: why not win this game? I just that was just
- 58:50Speaker 2: a heartbreaker. So that was his answer. Now, in the SEC,
- 58:55Speaker 2: I've been to every stadium out there, with the exception
- 58:59Speaker 2: of the new ones that Texas and Oklahoma, and I've
- 59:02Speaker 2: never been. I've been to an Arkansas home game, but
- 59:05Speaker 2: it was in Little Rocket Memorial. It was not at
- 59:08Speaker 2: their stadium on their campus, just watching from television. What
- 59:16Speaker 2: do you think your favorite stadium is within the se
- 59:20Speaker 2: is it why?
- 59:21Speaker 4: LSU?
- 59:21Speaker 3: I mean, it's just so cool. You got like the
- 59:23Speaker 3: logo on the center of the field. Super badass. I
- 59:26Speaker 3: mean there's just an atmosphere every single home game they
- 59:29Speaker 3: have feels like it's awesome. LSU. Easy for me. Yeah. However, yes,
- 59:36Speaker 3: with Tennessee doing like their their checkerboard thing, when they
- 59:40Speaker 3: do the checkerboard in the crowd in the crowd, yeah,
- 59:43Speaker 3: that's one of the coolest atmospheres ever.
- 59:46Speaker 2: I would agree with that. That's that's that's a good one.
- 59:48Speaker 3: And then when they do the they're all doing the
- 59:51Speaker 3: gator chomp and singing Tom Petty. That's really cool. I
- 59:54Speaker 3: think that's awesome.
- 59:56Speaker 2: I like that as well, especially when they get their
- 59:58Speaker 2: cell phones out and what is it don't back down
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: that they famously sing and I think that's really cool.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I don't know anything about Texas or Oklahoma, so I
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: can't say anything about that. Vanderbilt, Na, Georgia and Nah,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: the two that you picked are pretty accurate right there.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: I've been to both of those stadiums. The problem I
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: had with LSU is we had the worst tickets in
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: the world. We were literally three rows from the top
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: of the upper deck.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Yikes.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: It took me, and I'm not exaggerating, it took me
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: a good twenty or thirty minutes to turn around to
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: look at the field.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: We were so.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: High, and then nobody would help me down the steps.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: My entire family laughed at me, except no, there was
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: no rail nothing. My brother in law said, okay, I'll
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: help you get down. Put He let me put my
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: hand on his shoulder as I looked down at the steps,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: and my youngest son took a picture of me laughing.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: I was scared to death.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Now the other one I would say, I would say,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: old miss, oh, this is just kind of a cool venue.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I don't know why I've always liked even though I
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: have good memories from the last time UK beat Tennessee
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: was John Schlarman's last game.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: I thought that was a great day.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I think the whole cash Daniel and UK going down
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: there and beating Florida for the first time and who
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: knows how many years that was really cool day. But
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: those are more games. I'm talking about the venues and
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I'm with you. A nighttime gay game in LSU while
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: they're tailgating it's just phenomenal. I just love it. But
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I love Commonwealth Stadium. There's not a better stadium in Commonwealth.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Sadium to me though, I don't mean to say that
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: I thought he was taking shots, but it feels like
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: a small part of his reasoning for Commonwealth Stadium being
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: his favorite probably so is because of the success he had.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Yeah, oh absolutely, and that's I don't think that's a
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: shot though. I think that's a reality. Is like Tennessee
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: had success in at Commonwealth Stadium for how long? And
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: I don't take it as a shot. I take it
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: as a compliment that he has nice memories at UK
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: winning those games.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, that's not a shot if you
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: take winning and losing out of the equation. Is his
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: answer still Commonwealth? Yes or no?
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: I think no.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Same, although although he did say how much he loves
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: the color blue, so of course everybody's just really into
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: the game that year.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: I mean, okay, you like blue, and remember that was
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: also the last game of the year.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: That was before you had uk U of L plane
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: uk u of L played that year. I think that
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: was that might have been the Stevie got Loose year
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: two thousand seven and that was when UFL came in
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: number sixteenth or what were they They were ranked maybe
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: top ten, top fifteen, something like that, and they beat
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: U of L on that last shot, that last touchdown
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: by Stephen Johnson or Stevie Johnson, Yeah, or should I
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: say Steph Johnson.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Yeah, let's call him Steph Johns.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: I like that.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: That has a nice green to It's Steph Johnson.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: See. Going back to that though, if Kentucky gets another
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: quarterback named Steven, he can't go by Stevie. There's already
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: been a Stevie. Yes, he can't. No, he can't. Now. Granted,
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Stevie Johnson wasn't all that in a bag of chips.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: He was fine, But if he like broke school records
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: and stuff, no, the next guy can't go by Stevie.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Okay, So if a player comes to Kentucky and his
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: name is Shae, you can't call him Shae.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Well, if that's his name, then that's what you call it.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Shay's not short for.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Anything, shading.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Okay, Well, okay, yeah, that's a good point. If you
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: get a shady, he can't go by Shay.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, you're your logic, you know you are
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: you've gone full blown Michael Bennett right now, I just
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: want you to know that. Okay, yeah it is, and
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I get it. I get it. But uh uh, I
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: don't know if you saw this or not. Indy Sunday's
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Indy five hundred drew six point six three five million
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: viewers on Fox. That's it peaking peak, that's what I thought,
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: peaking at eight point three viewers from four to four fifteen,
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: and that's when the race was over. Uh that was
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: a six percent decline for Fox and its second year
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: broadcasting the race because it's boring.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: Well, that's all I want to know.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Do you think the NDY five hundred is declining in popularity?
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Kentucky Derby, I know is a lot shorter, but they
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: got nineteen point six million.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: That's that's a drastic difference right there. It's exactly. I
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: just think it's what is it about the Kentucky Derby
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: that's more popular than the Indy five.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Hundred, speed of it, the fact that it's only two
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: and a half minutes or whatever it is. I mean,
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: and you're watching the Indy five hundred, you got to
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: dedicate four hours of your day.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right about that.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: So I just think the length of time that it
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: takes to watch. Even Like I tuned into the Indy
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: five hundred for like a lap and then I'm like,
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: all right, I'm over this, and I turned it off.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: I didn't watch a single bit of not even the
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: second of it. I just I just I'm just not
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: interested in it. I went to see it one time.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: That was enough.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: I don't need to watch it on television again.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: I like the other kind of racing, not the indie racing.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: What is the other kind of racing? Formula one where
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: they're doing all the turns and stuff. I think that's
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: a lot more exciting.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: They do a lot about an IndyCar too, they.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Do, Okay, I tried the one in Saint Petersburg is
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Indy Car where it's like the Formula one racing. I
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: did think that this was pretty cool. Before we go
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: to break, somebody posted a picture. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: so big that it could fit Did you see this graphic?
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: It could fit Churchill Downs, Yankee Stadium, the Rose Bowl,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: the taj Mahal, the White House, Liberty Island, Roman Coliseum,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: and the Vatican City all together it's crazy. Add three
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: hundred thousand plus people, the ND five hundred is the
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: world's biggest single day sporting event. I mean that is
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: just awesome to be able to see something like that.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I didn't know it was that bit. I knew it
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: was big, but I didn't know it's that bit.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: I've got to play that golf course at some time.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: That's like one of the highest things on my bucket list.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Is it nice?
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: I don't know. But there's two or three holes in
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: the infield of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and I.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Thought that's pretty awesome. Yeah, that is pretty cool. And
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: you know there's a golf course that surrounds the Rose Bowl.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: Did you know that?
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: I didn't know that.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: And they park on on the golf course when there's
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: an event going on at the Rose Bowl, which I
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: found crazy.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't know.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Are you going in a tunnel when you're going into
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: the infield so you can go play the other side
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: of the golf course.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Yeah, you go through a tunnel, you do? Okay, I
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: might like to play.
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Is it public?
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure?
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, then I might like to try it sometime too.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: All right, Uh, we'll get back to your Texa as
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: soon as we come back after this break. But we
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: gotta take our last one. It's Friday. Stay right there
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: with us, one more segment. Just the cat's coming right up?
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: When I winning coming, I know I'm gonna ben.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I'm mixed to you.

- 1:08:06Speaker 4: Are you okay?
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: Why not on Friday?
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: Baby?
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Whoa you gotta be?
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: You got to be better than okay. But Josh texts
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: it out. I gotta read this because he's You're right,
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: No one it's not Noon calls. It's no one calls
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: the Shawnee, the Georgia Powers sixty four past New Albany. Okay,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: thank you, Josh. But I Josh texted back. I just
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: know the guy that can't pronounce names or read texting
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: the correct content context isn't calling me out for spelling.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: I'm a product of j CPS. Michael, give me a break.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Oh that makes me happy, Josh, I really appreciate what
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: you texting. Uh here's what that makes me happy.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: When when Jolie, When I.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: See Jolie texting in the show, nothing makes me happier.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Jolie has become a fan favorite of Michael Bennett.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: I just want you to know that, Scoot Toney, what
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: are you washing your hair with.
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: Methyl chlora zone hydro? Well, now I don't have to
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: wash my hair because I don't have it.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: The fact that she called you honey, just that makes
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: me smile with that, scow Toney.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: What are you washing your hair with?
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: A woman? In years?
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: No? I think listen, Dolly Poden was right. I mean
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: she is just awesome. She's she is my favorite right there.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: One person texted second Street is going to be closed
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: to be restripped. Going north will be two lanes, In
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: south will be only one lane. You can't take the
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: cougar out of your name, but you could take the
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: couter out of Jim Porters. I don't get that, but spot,
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: I don't want to know. Yeah, oh that's what it
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: is that you just nailed it right there?
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: Ye borders here I come.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Oh boy, it's long gone by the way, Jim port Yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: they tore it down.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Where have you been? Spelling? Bee is a sport? What
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: go outside and touch some grass?
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: Nerd?
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: No, cap.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Cut the FROs in the bag and that's right. Getna
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: go get a Glizzie in the dirt. I mean, come on,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: man Um forty eight handily said, saw a snippet of
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: the spelling Bee. A girl asked the country of origin.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Moderator said none. In the next ninety seconds, along with
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: a few other questions, she asked the country of origin
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: four more times, as Johnny Ben said, catch you, Elidah,
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Why would you want to know the country of origin? Word?
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: Those kids are like robots. They don't I don't even
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: think they're stalling. I don't even think they definitely are stall.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Country of origin can help you though, because if it's
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: a obviously, if it's a Spanish speaking country, it's and
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: you have an idea of how they spell their words
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: and things that they do with their with their words.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: I mean, I do think it gives you a better
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: idea having the country of origin.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: I think the Belmont Stakes will further prove this is
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: an ordinary crop of three year olds.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: No sovereignty in this bunch.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Greatest Belmont I ever saw was in nineteen seventy eight,
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: a firm versus Ali Dar. I've seen video of that.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Carnations drape the winner. Yeah are ugly.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean think about even this year, how many
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: fun races are ever since Derby, how many fun races
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: we've had with sovereignty? And was it just oh yeah,
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: justifies No, not correct.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: No, you're right, a journalism journalism.
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean imagine even why to Barrio, how many
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: fun races we've had with all these horses if you
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: think towards next year and towards the Breeders Cup coming up. Yeah,
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: it doesn't feel the same as it did with.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: The No, it really doesn't. And just because Golden h
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Tempo is going to the Bell Mine, it's like, okay,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: great whatever. But I will say this, the Stephen Foster
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: that they have I think it's the latter part of
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: June at Churchill Downs. It's going to be phenomenal because
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: they're saying that a lot of huge horses are going
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: to be sovereignty. Yeah, it is exactly. Heading to Saint
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Kitts tomorrow to play golf. This is from Michelle for
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: the week piece out. That's a little humble brag right there. Okay,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: we'll have fun at Saint KITT's there. Yes, no, no, no,
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: She's headed to Saint Kitts tomorrow to play golf. She's
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: going to the Island of Saint Kitts is the way
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: I take it, So good for her little.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: Humble brag there. So I'm envious and I wish I
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: was there.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: All of a sudden, my Cincinnati trip doesn't seem so fun. No, what, No,
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: it is fun. You're gonna be with your family.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: Come on, my gosh, Michelle, you hurt his feelings. Now,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: this is terrible. Thank you for the handle. Yeah, the
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Stephen Foster's June twenty seventh, So yeah, it's the last
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: weekend of the spring meet, which is just unbelievably flown by.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: But all right, let's uh before we go, I do
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: want to talk about the Knicks.
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: I don't know if you saw it or not.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: They announced yesterday that their backup center Mitchell Robinson broke
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: his pinky on his right hand.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: Yeah, how'd he do that practice? I guess they.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Never said so, I have no idea. But but you know,
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: he's not really considered a shooter. Can't he go out
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: there and just he's more of a defensive player and
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: a rebounder. So I mean, well, that potentially hurt him
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: for a title. Yeah, but do I really believe that
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: no said pinky? It's his pinky on his right hand.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: That's the least important we have, is it really? Absolutely?
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: The pinky is actually maybe not. I would have said
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: the third finger in between the ring finger is the
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: most insignificant finger.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: You're probably right on that because I can't pinky.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: I use, I mean, I yeah, pinky, I U. I
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: picked my nose with my pinky, So yeah, that is
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: the kind huh.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: It is the smallest finger, so that's a good.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly. So well, my nose is big, though,
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: so that doesn't really matter. I could take my big.
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: No.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: I don't you imagine seeing somebody picking their nose with
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: their thumb? What a psycho?
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: What is the show gotten to?
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: You're right, it is Friday, and here we're talking about
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: the most insignificant things on this show I've ever heard.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: MLB proposed a hard salary cap yesterday for the first
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: time since nineteen ninety four.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: What are your thoughts. I mean, it's just a proposal
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: as of now, right.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that resulted in if you remember, players striking and
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: canceled the World Series back in nineteen ninety four.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: So here's what it is.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: The MLBA proposed a two hundred and forty five point
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: three million dollars salary cap including benefits, which is.
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: Lower than eight.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Current MLB teams payroll players, which would require yes, which
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: would require total reduction in payroll of fifty five hundred
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: and seventy eight million.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Won't happen that.
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: I'm worried about it too. I want to see this
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: happen somehow. That's that's the you know we're talking about.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Why is the NFL so popular all than compared to
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: all the other major league professional sports. I think this
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: is one of the reasons why MLB is not popular
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: is because it's always the same teams that win. And
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: if they had a salary cap and gave every single
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: team a chance to win or at least get into
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: the World Series, I think you would see the popularity
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: of the sport grow again.
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: But this is just ridiculous there. Let's go back.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: For instance, salary for which one would require twelve teams
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: to increase the lowest ones would have to increase your
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: salary by six hundred and seventeen million dollars.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: I mean, how you gonna do that.
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: I don't know how you're gonna do it.
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: Because there's a salary cap doesn't mean you have to
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: hit the salary cap.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: You're right, because you know, we've talked about my favorite team,
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: the Tampa Bay Rays, who are one of the lowest,
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: and of course they've gone four games in a row
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: losing now and they're gonna just be totally outed by
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: the UH by we get the to All Star Break.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: But I just that's why the NFL is so popular
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: is because you never know which teams.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: There are times where you know, you get the Chiefs winning. Yeah,
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: you always had the uh Patriots winning, you had the
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: for a time, you had the Green Bay Packers winning.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: But you know what, normally those wouldn't have been teams
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: that would have won.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: But here we go, so players won't accept it. Well,
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: and I'm at this point, I'm really worried about a
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: lot for one of them.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm afraid you're probably going to be right about that.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: So uh anyway, all right.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: Uh you got big plans for the weekend, I'm other
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: than going to Yeah, who are they playing tonight?
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: The Brave?
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: Oh that's right, you told me that.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Okay, Well, uh, well, we'll talk about your weekend and
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: how they played.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: I watch them win.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: You just you never know if they're gonna win. Little faith, Yeah,
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: there you go, you're one to know, so you never
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: know how you like. Man every time, I'm a good rapper,
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: I should be a rapper without a doubt. Uh So, Monday,
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: I'm hoping we'll find out about Melan mom Chilovich and
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: whether or not he's going to be committing to the
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: University of Kentucky. We'll find that out, hopefully no later
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: than Sunday. If it goes to Monday, I'm gonna be like,
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: oh my gosh, it's gonna kill me.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: But either way, I only got to talk about it
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: for an hour on Monday.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Oh that's right. You're going to play golf
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: at the place I don't get invited to.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: You did, but you're too good for us.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: All right, that sounds good. All right, we'll see you Monday. Everybody,
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: have a great weekend. We'll be talking a lot about
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: hopefully basketball on Monday and in the excitement we may
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: or may not have, so we'll see you then.
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: Be careful
