Air Travel Liberal Sabotage and the Filibuster Fight · The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson

• 0:01
Speaker 1: We have a shutdown, as you probably know, because the
• 0:04
Speaker 1: Democrats have gone they're crazy, but they don't care if
• 0:07
Speaker 1: they're hurt the country. But we've approved it fourteen times.
• 0:11
Speaker 1: We've approved a opening up fourteen times, and they keep
• 0:14
Speaker 1: rejecting it and they want to have a lot of
• 0:17
Speaker 1: bad things happen, bad things for our country. We're not
• 0:20
Speaker 1: going to give one point five trillion dollars to people
• 0:22
Speaker 1: that came into a country illegally. We're not going to
• 0:24
Speaker 1: do it to people came from prisons, they came from
• 0:27
Speaker 1: mental institutions and drug dealers, and they want to give
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: them medical care.
• 0:32
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
• 0:36
Speaker 3: Good Saturday morning to you. Ben Ferguson with you, and
• 0:39
Speaker 3: we've got one big bombshell story for you coming out
• 0:42
Speaker 3: of the White House, and that is this. So the
• 0:45
Speaker 3: government shut down is what everyone's talking about. This is
• 0:48
Speaker 3: there's literally chaos in the air as flights are being
• 0:51
Speaker 3: canceled now at record numbers. So where are we at
• 0:55
Speaker 3: this moment. I have all the details for you you're
• 0:58
Speaker 3: not going to want to miss. But first I want
• 1:01
Speaker 3: to tell you about our friends over Patriot Mobile. Every
• 1:04
Speaker 3: so often, something happens that reminds us just how fragile
• 1:07
Speaker 3: our freedoms are. We can't afford to take our rights
• 1:11
Speaker 3: for granted. We must draw a line in the sand,
• 1:14
Speaker 3: and our friends at Patriot Mobile have been doing just
• 1:17
Speaker 3: that for more than twelve years. The truth is there
• 1:21
Speaker 3: is only one provider that boldly stands in the gap
• 1:24
Speaker 3: for Americans who believe freedom is worth fighting for, and
• 1:27
Speaker 3: that company is Patriot Mobile. Not only are they leading
• 1:30
Speaker 3: the red economy, they're also outpacing the competition and technology.
• 1:35

Speaker 3: been easier. You can activate in minute on your phone
• 2:01
Speaker 3: from your home or your office, and you keep your
• 2:04
Speaker 3: same number. You've got now keep your same phone, or
• 2:06
Speaker 3: upgrade to a new one, and this is where the
• 2:08
Speaker 3: magic happens. Every month, about five percent of your bill
• 2:12
Speaker 3: is given back to conservative causes at no extra cost

• 2:18
Speaker 3: Second Amendment rights, the rights of unborn children, and are
• 2:22

• 2:25
Speaker 3: and wear a badge. So take a stand today. Go

Speaker 3: ninety seven to two Patriot and if you use the
• 2:37
Speaker 3: promo code BEN forty seven, you're gonna get a free
• 2:42
Speaker 3: month of service. That's Patriot Mobile dot com slash ben
• 2:47
Speaker 3: forty seven or nine seven to two Patriot and make
• 2:51
Speaker 3: the switch today. It's a forty seven morning update and
• 2:55
Speaker 3: it starts right now.
• 2:56
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 2:58
Speaker 3: If you're flying, Democrats are playing with your safety. They
• 3:02
Speaker 3: know that they're playing with your safety, and they're wanting
• 3:05
Speaker 3: it to hurt. They're wanting you to miss flights, they're
• 3:08
Speaker 3: wanting you to stand in long lines, and they want
• 3:10
Speaker 3: you to blame Donald Trump. But what they're not talking
• 3:13
Speaker 3: about is how unsafe the skies have become because of
• 3:17
Speaker 3: the pressure they've deliberately chosen to put on the system.
• 3:20
Speaker 3: I also don't want to be clear about something. Republicans
• 3:24
Speaker 3: had a clean bill to pay government essential workers, the
• 3:29
Speaker 3: workers that are forced to come in even if they're
• 3:32
Speaker 3: not getting a paycheck. That includes air traffic controllers and
• 3:36
Speaker 3: what do the Democrats do? They said, no, that is
• 3:40
Speaker 3: how you know that this is being done deliberately. I
• 3:43
Speaker 3: want you to listen to more of what the Transportation
• 3:45
Speaker 3: Secretary Sean Duffy had to say when he was sitting
• 3:48
Speaker 3: down on Friday at a bright Bart conference. Take a listen.
• 3:52
Speaker 4: There's more incursions on the ground. And then we've had
• 3:55
Speaker 4: more complaints from pilots that have said, well, the controller
• 3:59
Speaker 4: is less responsive to me, or controllers seem to be
• 4:03
Speaker 4: more stressed. So we looked at that data and that
• 4:06
Speaker 4: numbers are going in the wrong direction. This is a
• 4:07
Speaker 4: really long answer, but I want to expect please do
• 4:10
Speaker 4: the numbers are going in the wrong direction, and so
• 4:13
Speaker 4: then what what is our response to that? And the
• 4:16
Speaker 4: response is to take pressure out of the system and
• 4:20
Speaker 4: through the safety team. We've talked about lowering the number
• 4:24
Speaker 4: of flights and so we were going to do ten
• 4:27
Speaker 4: percent right away. The safety team said that could be
• 4:29
Speaker 4: even more disruptive. We should we should actually phase this
• 4:33
Speaker 4: in to which we've done that. Today is the first
• 4:37
Speaker 4: day four percent reduction, four days later another two percent,
• 4:41
Speaker 4: two days after that two percent and then you know
• 4:44
Speaker 4: two percent on and what I'm hoping to do is
• 4:48
Speaker 4: again take the pressure and more risk out of the system.
• 4:51
Speaker 4: We always try to manage the risk. Nothing is ever
• 4:53
Speaker 4: fully safe. A car is not safe, walking down the
• 4:56
Speaker 4: streets not full I mean, there's risk and everything we do.
• 4:58
Speaker 4: I'm trying to minimize the risk through this government shutdown
• 5:03
Speaker 4: and bring us to a matrix that matches what we
• 5:08
Speaker 4: had before the shutdown. And I've had some complaints from Democrats.
• 5:11
Speaker 4: They've said, well, we want to see the data, and
• 5:13
Speaker 4: why are you looking at data? And this is political.
• 5:15
Speaker 4: This has not been political. We have worked over time
• 5:17
Speaker 4: to make sure that we minimize the impact on the
• 5:21
Speaker 4: American people. We're trying to help the American people. And
• 5:24
Speaker 4: when I start to get attacked by Democrats, that also
• 5:27
Speaker 4: gets frustrating because there's a very easy solution to the
• 5:30
Speaker 4: problem that they put directly on my lap, which is
• 5:33
Speaker 4: open the day of government. Vote to open the government.
• 5:36
Speaker 4: So those who snipe at me for having to take
• 5:40
Speaker 4: really unique action, they put that on my on my plate,
• 5:43
Speaker 4: so open it up. And by the way, I did
• 5:46
Speaker 4: remember the last some of the last shutdowns I was.
• 5:48
Speaker 4: I was part of those. We stayed here for a month.
• 5:51
Speaker 4: I gained ten pounds, I think cause I ate pizza
• 5:54
Speaker 4: and the junkiest food. But you sit here every weekend,
• 5:58
Speaker 4: every day while the gun shut down and your family's upset,
• 6:02
Speaker 4: your kids are annoyed. That people would go home doing
• 6:05
Speaker 4: a shutdown when the American people are suffering is just
• 6:08
Speaker 4: flat out wrong. Everyone should be here, everyone should be working.
• 6:12
Speaker 4: No one should go home because, by the way I
• 6:14
Speaker 4: saw today I was at DCA, I'm not I'm let
• 6:17
Speaker 4: you ask me questions. Sure, yeah, there's people going to funerals.
• 6:21
Speaker 4: There's people who are trying to get home. They can't
• 6:23
Speaker 4: get home while Senator's going home. Keep them here, and
• 6:26
Speaker 4: especially the senators who voted no to open the government up.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: Maybe we could put the senators who keep voting to
• 6:30
Speaker 1: shut the government down on the no fly list.
• 6:32
Speaker 4: That would be a great well played.
• 6:35
Speaker 3: You listen to the games they're being played, and he's
• 6:38
Speaker 3: absolutely right. In a government shut down. When he was
• 6:41
Speaker 3: in Washington, d C. Serving you stayed in town. The
• 6:45
Speaker 3: families were frustrated because they weren't coming home. The constituents
• 6:49
Speaker 3: weren't seeing their congressmen in their district or the senators
• 6:52
Speaker 3: in their state. But what are we watching this time?
• 6:56
Speaker 3: All of these people are going home. I would argue
• 6:59
Speaker 3: that there's no way this go shutdown would be this
• 7:01
Speaker 3: long if they forced the Congressmen and the Senators to
• 7:05
Speaker 3: stay in town. So if this is what is happening
• 7:10
Speaker 3: and what we're witnessing right now, it's probably gonna continue.
• 7:14
Speaker 3: Democrats feel like they're holding America hostage, and they feel
• 7:18
Speaker 3: like that is a good thing. They also believe that
• 7:23
Speaker 3: this is actually working to their advantage, especially after the
• 7:27
Speaker 3: big winds they said they got on Tuesday in hardcore
• 7:31
Speaker 3: liberal states. So here we are and a full government shutdown,
• 7:35
Speaker 3: the longest one in history. And what are Democrats saying?
• 7:39
Speaker 3: They're just simply saying, We're going to keep doing it.
• 7:42
Speaker 3: Why in essence, why not? We love that this is
• 7:47
Speaker 3: happening right now. We love that this is where we are,
• 7:51
Speaker 3: and we love that you are being held hostage now.
• 7:56
Speaker 3: Tommy Tumerbilt Center from Alabama. He said this even about
• 8:00
Speaker 3: the issue of the filibuster earlier on Fox.
• 8:04
Speaker 5: Well, in the last week or so, Martha, the Democrats
• 8:07
Speaker 5: have snuck around behind the scenes and worked with our
• 8:10
Speaker 5: leadership team, knowing that they want to get out of
• 8:13
Speaker 5: this themselves, not all of them, but a few of
• 8:15
Speaker 5: them and hopefully it would be enough to open up.
• 8:18
Speaker 5: But I think they really feel in Bolden that they
• 8:20
Speaker 5: won a couple of blue state elections this past Tuesday,
• 8:24
Speaker 5: and I don't know whether the deal is still on
• 8:26
Speaker 5: the table. You know, it's about three appropriation bills that
• 8:29
Speaker 5: we'd put in the CR, put a date in there,
• 8:31
Speaker 5: get it done, voted in, and possibly kick the can
• 8:34
Speaker 5: down the road to January. Here's a problem with Marsha.
• 8:37
Speaker 5: These people feel empowered on the Democratic side. They can't
• 8:40
Speaker 5: control President Trump, but they think they can control the
• 8:43
Speaker 5: United States Senate. And that's the reason. As President Trump
• 8:46
Speaker 5: had us in the White House there stay for breakfast,
• 8:48
Speaker 5: he said, if you don't bust a filibuster, we won't
• 8:51
Speaker 5: get anything else done. There's going to be more closures.
• 8:53
Speaker 5: So we got to make a decision on our side.
• 8:55
Speaker 5: I'm all for going to fifty one.
• 8:57
  Speaker 3: Now.
• 8:57
Speaker 5: I was totally against it until I saw, really hoigh
• 9:00
Speaker 5: this place works. And I've been up here five years
• 9:02
Speaker 5: and there's not gonna be anything done if we don't
• 9:05
Speaker 5: do something about this filibuster. Pass it up and let's
• 9:08
Speaker 5: go and just kick the Democrats to the side and
• 9:10
Speaker 5: get something done. For the American people they are suffering.
• 9:14
Speaker 3: Now you hear that from Tommy Tubverville. There is always
• 9:17
Speaker 3: a cause and effect when Democrats get back in control,
• 9:21
Speaker 3: and they will at some point in my lifetime, maybe
• 9:24
Speaker 3: multiple times in my lifetime, they will then kick the
• 9:27
Speaker 3: Republicans the corner and go full blown communists, like we're
• 9:31
Speaker 3: witnessing in New York City. Even Democrats are getting in
• 9:35
Speaker 3: on this. John Fetterman speaking to reporters about the same issue,
• 9:39
Speaker 3: and here's what he said.
• 9:40
Speaker 2: Some of your Republican colleagues have proposed nuking the philibuster
• 9:43
Speaker 2: to force the government to reopen.
• 9:45
Speaker 6: What do you think, of course, of course, carve it
• 9:48
Speaker 6: out for that. Absolutely, we ran on that. We ran
• 9:51
Speaker 6: on killing the philibuster, and now we love it. You know,
• 9:54
Speaker 6: it's like, carve it out so we can move on.
• 9:57
Speaker 6: And I support it because it makes it's more difficult
• 10:01
Speaker 6: to shut the government down in the future. And that's
• 10:03
Speaker 6: where it's entirely appropriate. And I don't want to hear
• 10:06
Speaker 6: any Democrats clutching their pearls about the filibuster. We all
• 10:10
Speaker 6: ran on it. I ran on that in mind.
• 10:12
Speaker 3: So there is again Fetterman, we ran on killing the
• 10:16
Speaker 3: philibuster and now we love it, carve it out so
• 10:18
Speaker 3: we can move on. I support it because it makes
• 10:20
Speaker 3: it more difficult to shut the government down in the future,
• 10:23
  Speaker 3: and that's where it's entirely appropriate. I don't want to
• 10:26
Speaker 3: hear any Democrats clutching their pearls about the filibuster. John
• 10:30
Speaker 3: Fetterman also calling out his own party, saying, it's very
• 10:35
Speaker 3: clear that the Democrats are holding the American people hostage.
• 10:39
Speaker 6: It's like, that's why shutting the government is really what
• 10:43
Speaker 6: the Democratic Party wants to do. And I follow country
• 10:47
Speaker 6: than party, and it's the wrong thing for the country
• 10:50
Speaker 6: in a period of chaos. I refuse to vote to
• 10:52
Speaker 6: shut our government down. I absolutely would love to have
• 11:00
Speaker 6: I I would love to have a conversation about extending
• 11:04
Speaker 6: the tax credits for healthcare. Absolutely, but I would remind
• 11:08
Speaker 6: everybody too, this was designed by the Democratic Party to
• 11:11
Speaker 6: expire at the end of the year. This is not
• 11:14
Speaker 6: something taken from by by the Republicans. That's they were
• 11:18
Speaker 6: designed to expire. Now, let's have a conversation to extend
• 11:21
Speaker 6: it and not shut our government down, and let's continue
• 11:24
Speaker 6: to help has already agreed to that, well, I mean,
• 11:27
Speaker 6: you know, that. Well, for me, I do believe, I
• 11:30
Speaker 6: do believe Leader Thun is an honorable man, and I
• 11:34
Speaker 6: do believe you. Well, you're not gonna lie. I mean,
• 11:36
Speaker 6: you can't guarantee any outcome. But what I'm what I'm
• 11:39
Speaker 6: saying it that's talking about what's wrong for the country.
• 11:44
  Speaker 6: I can't vote for a thing. I can't vote to
• 11:46
Speaker 6: shutting our government down.
• 11:48
Speaker 3: You wonder where the other statesmen are. John Feterin been
• 11:52
Speaker 3: calling out his own party. Democrats choose party over country.
• 11:56
Speaker 3: I follow country then party, and it's the wrong thing
• 11:59
Speaker 3: for the country in a period of chaos, saying I
• 12:02
Speaker 3: refuse to vote to shut our government down. You wonder
• 12:07
Speaker 3: when this will actually stop the insanity. It's pretty clear
• 12:10
Speaker 3: now Democrats believe they have enough leverage to keep moving
• 12:16
Speaker 3: forward with a shutdown. They want it to hurt, and
• 12:20
Speaker 3: they're holding the American people hostage and they're proud of it,
• 12:24
Speaker 3: including putting your safety at risks in the skies.
