- 0:12Speaker 1: Adley Richmond joining us right now on FT Adley. It's
- 0:15Speaker 1: great to have you on. You probably caught a little
- 0:17Speaker 1: bit of what we were just doing. It's it's a
- 0:19Speaker 1: little bit of a rough day, honestly as an American.
- 0:21Speaker 2: How you doing, man, I'm doing good. I'm having a
- 0:24Speaker 2: great day.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yeah, good good. Yeah.
- 0:28Speaker 2: No, I put on the tighter shirt I can.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I told you.
- 0:30Speaker 4: I mean I feel like I should take my undershirt
- 0:33Speaker 4: off off for this killer hoodny thing I got here.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Now you try to keep up. I mean, these things
- 0:38Speaker 3: are freaking what you do this off season?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Oh, I got a Tyler O'Neal's program.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Oh I was gonna say, yeah, yeah, that's smart.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Best shape of your life? No, I mean every year
- 0:53Speaker 2: says that every year.
- 0:54Speaker 3: You can't always be in the best shape of your life. Yeah,
- 0:57Speaker 3: that's great. I just believe.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I mean, if you're Tyler and you you can. But
- 1:00Speaker 4: not us regular common folk. Yeah, not us catchers, nobody,
- 1:04Speaker 4: no catchers ever in great shape.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we're you know.
- 1:07Speaker 3: We're catchers. Yeah, yeah, you're not.
- 1:10Speaker 4: You're not rolling out there with a six pack looking
- 1:12Speaker 4: like Tyler O'Neill. You know, it's a huge butt because
- 1:14Speaker 4: then we get hit by balls and it hurts more.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16Speaker 2: No, that's that's a that's a real thing, you know,
- 1:18Speaker 2: just like a little bit of a little punch. Yah, yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 2: just a little a little bit.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Right. What house camp going? Everything good so far, It's
- 1:25Speaker 3: been great. You're healthy. It's like the biggest thing for you.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Absolutely. I mean that's I want to play as many
- 1:31Speaker 2: games as possible. It's the worst being hurt, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 2: it's uhs tough, tough being on the bench and feeling
- 1:36Speaker 2: like you can't contribute in that way. So definitely the
- 1:40Speaker 2: most important thing standing on the field.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Have they talked to you about and uh with sam
- 1:46Speaker 4: here Samuel hear a catching sharing like to keep you healthy,
- 1:52Speaker 4: they give you a number and say, hey, one hundred
- 1:55Speaker 4: and twenty games Hunter games hundred and ten.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Has all been asked you that question? Or is it
- 1:59Speaker 3: just play as many can?
- 2:01Speaker 2: I mean that No, I mean that conversation, I guess
- 2:05Speaker 2: hasn't been had. And I think for me, it's I
- 2:07Speaker 2: want to play as many games as I can. That's
- 2:09Speaker 2: that's my goal.
- 2:10Speaker 3: It should be.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean you've done okay, so yeah it should
- 2:13Speaker 4: be your goal. Yeah, how do you what's the biggest
- 2:17Speaker 4: thing the spring that you want to work on.
- 2:20Speaker 2: For me, it's just it's one of those things where
- 2:23Speaker 2: I want to be in the best possible spot I
- 2:25Speaker 2: can be going into Opening Day. I want to make
- 2:29Speaker 2: sure that my swing that I want to have for
- 2:32Speaker 2: the year is like I'm trending in that direction starting
- 2:37Speaker 2: with Opening Day and whatever that is like for me,
- 2:40Speaker 2: it's getting that one percent every single day, like getting
- 2:43Speaker 2: my feels in the cage, making sure like I'm looking
- 2:46Speaker 2: at video ever rep has intention to it and like
- 2:52Speaker 2: how am how am I seeing the ball? How am
- 2:53Speaker 2: I getting swings off? Am I barreling balls? All that
- 2:57Speaker 2: feedback is is super important going into Opening Day. So
- 3:02Speaker 2: That's where I'm trying to get to and where I
- 3:04Speaker 2: want to be at all.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Right, the bat, the bat makes your money, but I'm
- 3:10Speaker 5: pretty sure you want to win a World Series. So
- 3:12Speaker 5: the connection with the pitchers is what wins that World
- 3:15Speaker 5: series for you guys, What does that what does that
- 3:18Speaker 5: look like? What does that look like on a day
- 3:21Speaker 5: in and day out? Basis spring training what you're looking
- 3:24Speaker 5: for from you got some new faces. You're also trying
- 3:27Speaker 5: to bring bradish back, who was a cy young you know,
- 3:31Speaker 5: had cy Young votes before he got hurt, and then
- 3:33Speaker 5: Trevor Rodgers has to repeat what he did in the
- 3:35Speaker 5: second half. What does that look like in spring training
- 3:38Speaker 5: for you, because to me, that's the most important part
- 3:41Speaker 5: of your job.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, it's a lot of meetings, It's
- 3:46Speaker 2: a lot of conversations with with guys like in bullpens
- 3:52Speaker 2: and just after innings in the dugout. All that feedback,
- 3:56Speaker 2: all that communication from from them is huge and super valuable.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And I think just understanding, especially with the new guys
- 4:06Speaker 2: bass Bassett, understanding how they operate, what kind of feedback
- 4:10Speaker 2: they want and what they want to see in game.
- 4:13Speaker 2: You know, what's going to allow them to give up
- 4:16Speaker 2: three runs in the first and then go seven innings
- 4:19Speaker 2: three runs up, you know. So I think just having
- 4:22Speaker 2: those conversations, understanding how they operate is is huge and
- 4:25Speaker 2: definitely been a lot of meetings.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And have you talked to Bassett?
- 4:28Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean does he talk to you about
- 4:32Speaker 4: the whole pitch comedy thing where he'll hit a button
- 4:34Speaker 4: and he'll go, oh no.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah, he'll shake himself off on the pitch. Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 2: No, I mean I've been on the other end of that.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And I've seen that the spring training. I think, you know,
- 4:43Speaker 2: those buttons get tricky sometimes, and especially like for them
- 4:45Speaker 2: when they're feeling around and they're like, I do it
- 4:47Speaker 2: sometimes too, where I hit the wrong button and you know,
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'll hit slider and then it'll be backpick and I'm like, no, no,
- 4:53Speaker 2: not that, And so.
- 4:55Speaker 4: How do you how do you because I know we
- 4:56Speaker 4: didn't have you know, we actually had to use the
- 4:59Speaker 4: yeah fingers.
- 5:00Speaker 3: So what happens if you hit the wrong is there
- 5:02Speaker 3: like a delete?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, there's you know, you have the cancel or
- 5:06Speaker 2: you know that's when guys are just shaking their head
- 5:08Speaker 2: and just you know, there's no one on base and
- 5:10Speaker 2: you give the pickoff and you're like, okay, no that's
- 5:12Speaker 2: not delete. Yeah yeah, yeah, cancel, cancel, cancel.
- 5:15Speaker 4: You have it on your shing guard, Yeah, if you
- 5:17Speaker 4: take it off, because I see Alejandra Kirk he takes
- 5:19Speaker 4: it off and holds it sometimes he just doesn't want
- 5:21Speaker 4: to reach all the way over here and do it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I just I mean, I just go right off the knee.
- 5:25Speaker 3: You know, you got to cover it. You don't wan
- 5:26Speaker 3: anyone's stealing your fingers.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it can't be given off the you know dexterity
- 5:30Speaker 2: with the forum.
- 5:32Speaker 1: The number one rated ticketing app is seat geek and
- 5:35Speaker 1: you can get ten percent off on seat geeks app
- 5:38Speaker 1: by using the code territory ten, so you should use it.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Aj Oh, I'm definitely going to use it for WBC
- 5:44Speaker 4: games and Jammy because I want to go to the semi.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Finals in the finals and they're going to be sold out.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Absolutely spring training games for the people out there who
- 5:50Speaker 4: want to go to spring training games. Absolutely great idea
- 5:52Speaker 4: best seats Radar one through ten and I recently had
- 5:55Speaker 4: to use seageek to buy tickets to a Florida Gators
- 5:57Speaker 4: basketball game that was sold out. So I love the
- 6:00Speaker 4: code territory ten percent off and the rating is the best.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yes, he's talking about each ticket rated on a scale
- 6:05Speaker 1: of one to ten, so you know you're getting a
- 6:07Speaker 1: good deal. So look for the green dots. Green means good,
- 6:09Speaker 1: red means bad. And of course we have a code
- 6:12Speaker 1: for you, like I mentioned, it's territory ten for ten
- 6:16Speaker 1: percent off your next set of tickets at se geek.
- 6:18Speaker 1: That's ten percent off any tickets with promo code t
- 6:21Speaker 1: E R R I O R Y one zero. Make
- 6:24Speaker 1: sure you click the link in the description and download
- 6:26Speaker 1: the app and have the code automatically added to your
- 6:28Speaker 1: account so you can use it later.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Thank you to see geek.
- 6:32Speaker 5: How quickly do you do that? Because you hear it
- 6:35Speaker 5: at the same time and like you're like, oh backpick,
- 6:39Speaker 5: oh crap, do you have to hit cancel? Or is
- 6:42Speaker 5: a picture look at you and go nobody's on base?
- 6:45Speaker 5: Like what are those interactions?
- 6:47Speaker 3: Like?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's like sometimes it's you get a
- 6:51Speaker 2: smile out of them if you know, you mess up,
- 6:53Speaker 2: But most of the time it's you're trying to get
- 6:55Speaker 2: it in like quick enough to where like if you
- 6:58Speaker 2: do give something wrong, you have time to to you know,
- 7:00Speaker 2: press cancel, go back, hit something else, just.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Say cancel in your ear. Yeah, so it says back
- 7:05Speaker 3: that cancel kids. Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Or I mean if there's if you give something like
- 7:08Speaker 2: that and there's no one on base, then I just
- 7:10Speaker 2: go straight to whatever else it is because.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Is in your voice no no robot voice.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, just some you know, some chat GBT voice
- 7:18Speaker 2: that need to you know, you can make it your voice, yeah, absolutely,
- 7:21Speaker 2: And then you could have a button to be like
- 7:23Speaker 2: if you you suck. Yeah. Yeah, they were trying to
- 7:25Speaker 2: get that like after strikeouts, you know, have have something
- 7:28Speaker 2: pump up? Yeah, just like way to go, great job. Yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 5: How often does that happen? How often do you hit
- 7:39Speaker 5: the wrong button? Because this is all new for me
- 7:41Speaker 5: and AJ we never got to play video games on
- 7:43Speaker 5: the field.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd say probably two or three times a game,
- 7:47Speaker 2: so wow. Yeah. I mean it's just like the thing
- 7:51Speaker 2: is with some of them too. You have like like
- 7:55Speaker 2: some of them, if you press it once, it's like
- 7:58Speaker 2: it's something. If you hold it, it's something else. And
- 8:01Speaker 2: so sometimes like if you press it and you don't
- 8:04Speaker 2: hold it, then it's like something else that you don't want.
- 8:07Speaker 2: So sometimes it just like you just it malfunctions.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Do you ever come into the dugout after press you're
- 8:13Speaker 4: like Slider and it gets hit for a homer.
- 8:17Speaker 3: You ever come in and be like, this is a
- 8:18Speaker 3: video game.
- 8:19Speaker 4: It's supposed to go down in a way to your picture,
- 8:21Speaker 4: Like you didn't follow the A button I hit?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean if they leave it in the nitro zone,
- 8:27Speaker 2: then it's no, No.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Can't blame you that I pressed the A button.
- 8:31Speaker 2: No, I mean that's the thing too. As a catcher,
- 8:33Speaker 2: as you know, is like you got to account for
- 8:35Speaker 2: the misses and like what they've been doing and throwing
- 8:39Speaker 2: on that given day. And so it's like you're trying to,
- 8:42Speaker 2: you know, say, okay, if he throws a slider here,
- 8:44Speaker 2: but he might miss here, and I think that's still
- 8:45Speaker 2: gonna be okay if he misses here, So uh, then
- 8:49Speaker 2: it's on me, you know.
- 8:50Speaker 5: So take us to the off season. Take us the
- 8:53Speaker 5: off season when you're seeing things come across the ticker
- 8:56Speaker 5: or when you're getting calls hey, have you ever had
- 8:59Speaker 5: interaction with this guy? How much are you? Were you
- 9:01Speaker 5: a part of any of the discussions of guys that
- 9:04Speaker 5: you guys ended up trading for signing, and if you weren't,
- 9:08Speaker 5: tell us your reaction or like the group thread reaction
- 9:12Speaker 5: as you guys found out.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Are you asking if I got like calls on on
- 9:18Speaker 2: certain guys.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Like anybody like like, do you, hey, Adley, do you
- 9:22Speaker 5: know anything about Pete Alonzo? You're like, Hey, it's a
- 9:25Speaker 5: lot of dangers. Do you know anything about shame Box?
- 9:27Speaker 2: Like, yeah, they're not They're not calling me for advice
- 9:30Speaker 2: really at all.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Now, just the person did they call you? Yeah, not
- 9:35Speaker 3: as I think.
- 9:36Speaker 2: If if they think I know someone. Then I'm sure
- 9:39Speaker 2: they'll they'll ask what you know, what do you got
- 9:41Speaker 2: on a certain guy? But I'm not getting. I'm not getting.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Did they call you before they move the fences in?
- 9:47Speaker 2: No, No, that they called Pete. Maybe I don't know.
- 9:51Speaker 4: You they maybe I would think they probably did. They're like, hey, Pete,
- 9:56Speaker 4: by the way, if you want to sign here, we'll
- 9:58Speaker 4: move the fences in twenty feet before you left.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Perfect. Perfect? Yeah, I mean that that thing is?
- 10:06Speaker 3: That was that was formative?
- 10:07Speaker 4: Right?
- 10:07Speaker 3: What they call it?
- 10:09Speaker 4: Very big word from high school graduate? Uh, more than
- 10:12Speaker 4: one syllable.
- 10:13Speaker 3: What are they call it? Mount Baltimore? Yeah, the thing?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, why did you do that?
- 10:17Speaker 4: Because the coolest part about playing at Cammon Yards was
- 10:19Speaker 4: the defence was low and you could get moments like
- 10:21Speaker 4: where Manny Ramirez ran up and caught the ball and
- 10:23Speaker 4: high five to the fan and then threw it back
- 10:25Speaker 4: to like you can't do that anymore now.
- 10:27Speaker 2: No, I don't know if they're like planning on doing
- 10:29Speaker 2: something with that, like new area with the fence moved
- 10:32Speaker 2: in and it's kind of like the fence a little
- 10:34Speaker 2: bit lower.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Okay, that affects your right handed power though.
- 10:37Speaker 2: For sure. Yeah, yeah, for sure, close to the fence
- 10:41Speaker 2: to help the pictures. Yeah, I don't know. I mean
- 10:45Speaker 2: so it's like, yeah again they you know, they're not
- 10:49Speaker 2: asking me for my my take.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Shame they should you just give it. You should just
- 10:52Speaker 4: see it going into a Lias Like listen to Mike,
- 10:55Speaker 4: here's the deal. We're gonna sit down, We're gonna figure
- 10:56Speaker 4: this all out.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, we got to just go over the analytics
- 10:59Speaker 2: of like what's the optimal for pictures, pitchers and hitters.
- 11:03Speaker 3: What we're gonna have Trevor Rodgers on what what?
- 11:07Speaker 4: What did he change in the second half to make
- 11:09Speaker 4: him because he was unbelievable in the second half. Yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 4: a little bit more in the second half, but his
- 11:13Speaker 4: last like what fifteen starts are incredible.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he from what I understand, I think
- 11:21Speaker 2: just getting back to his identity and you know, I
- 11:25Speaker 2: think his velo ticked up a bit. And obviously we
- 11:29Speaker 2: have phenomenal pitching coaches, so great job pitching coaches and
- 11:32Speaker 2: training staff and everyone else had a part in it.
- 11:35Speaker 2: But he's also just got a great mindset and for him,
- 11:38Speaker 2: I think it's just a matter of time. Like he's
- 11:41Speaker 2: he's one of those guys. He works super hard, super
- 11:44Speaker 2: diligent about his work, and you see that, and everyone
- 11:48Speaker 2: wants him to have the utmost success because it's just
- 11:50Speaker 2: the best person. And last year he went out and
- 11:53Speaker 2: dominated and he's just super super competitive and I think
- 11:58Speaker 2: I love watching him pitch. It's been awesome spring training
- 12:00Speaker 2: so far. He's uh, you know, he goes out on
- 12:02Speaker 2: the mound with with authority and confidence and you love
- 12:04Speaker 2: to see that.
- 12:06Speaker 5: How much is WBC?
- 12:07Speaker 3: Have you been watching?
- 12:10Speaker 2: What What?
- 12:11Speaker 3: What?
- 12:11Speaker 2: You can? Uh? You know, you catch catch glimpses and uh,
- 12:14Speaker 2: you know in the hot tub, cold tub, and when
- 12:17Speaker 2: you go home. It's just tough with spring training over
- 12:20Speaker 2: on the East Coast. And you know, you got early
- 12:22Speaker 2: bedtime here in early wake up, so.
- 12:24Speaker 4: You're not grinding until midnight. I started at nine o'clock.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I can't make it too. I'm too old for that.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's just you know, bedtime gets earlier and
- 12:31Speaker 2: earlier older yet and so you catch what you can.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I saw this morning the Bad News.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Did you did you see the handshake tobacle between a
- 12:42Speaker 5: Rosarina and cal Rawley.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I heard about it. I didn't see it, but you
- 12:50Speaker 2: know I heard about it.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Who's your best friend in.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Best friend in baseball?
- 12:55Speaker 3: Not on the Orioles.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah, oh gosh, uh, I mean I got I got
- 13:01Speaker 2: some some Oregon State boys name one, okay, I mean
- 13:06Speaker 2: I don't want to see anyone out love.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Let's step Stephen Kuan comes up to beat off the
- 13:11Speaker 4: game and what's up, dude?
- 13:13Speaker 3: And he goes like this, what are you doing?
- 13:15Speaker 2: I see I don't know the backstory on it.
- 13:17Speaker 3: You know, he's Kwan.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Walks up leading off the game in Cleveland and he
- 13:21Speaker 4: goes badly, what's up? Are you shaking his hand?
- 13:25Speaker 2: I mean the thing is, it's like I don't know
- 13:27Speaker 2: what goes on in like the USA locker room. I
- 13:30Speaker 2: don't know if that's like what like what they talk about,
- 13:33Speaker 2: like how how they're approaching the game and whatnot.
- 13:35Speaker 4: And if I ain't shaking his hand, I'm a dick.
- 13:39Speaker 4: That's a dick when I played. You know, don't talk
- 13:42Speaker 4: to me. I'm gonna get you up. Yeah, I mean,
- 13:45Speaker 4: I mean that have to be you're nice. I wasn't
- 13:47Speaker 4: nice when I played.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't feel like it's tough. It's tough. Everyone's
- 13:51Speaker 2: everyone's different. I mean, I don't I don't know, I
- 13:55Speaker 2: don't know.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I don't know. You didn't say yes, he didn't say
- 13:58Speaker 3: yes to the Kwan and Jake Love Kuan.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I mean, I'm yeah, I don't know.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I don't have a good answer.
- 14:05Speaker 4: No, it's tough because it just depends right like you, Yeah,
- 14:08Speaker 4: I don't know what's happening.
- 14:09Speaker 3: No, you don't know what was discussed.
- 14:10Speaker 2: No, exactly, and you just don't know, like maybe maybe
- 14:13Speaker 2: that's how US team's like approaching it just as a
- 14:16Speaker 2: as a whole, or I don't know, like I'm I
- 14:20Speaker 2: don't know the backstory on it. So it's tough, tough
- 14:23Speaker 2: to have it. Take.
- 14:23Speaker 3: You did play for the US team, right, the collegiate
- 14:25Speaker 3: team one year?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yep.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah. What was it like putting the USA on your chest?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Oh, it's awesome.
- 14:30Speaker 3: You guys win.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Awesome. Yeah, we didn't have like a tournament or anything,
- 14:34Speaker 2: but we had you know, we played against Chinese type
- 14:37Speaker 2: page Japan, went down to Cuba. So it was an
- 14:41Speaker 2: awesome experience.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Have you heard what the conversations is in the sense
- 14:46Speaker 5: of and maybe you even had it because you guys
- 14:48Speaker 5: didn't have You're saying you didn't have the championship, but
- 14:51Speaker 5: you toured around with a collegiate team. Do you hear
- 14:53Speaker 5: those conversations when guys come back from the WBC, Like, man,
- 14:58Speaker 5: these guys, like everybody was all into the WBC, which
- 15:01Speaker 5: could lead to what you were saying, Like, I don't
- 15:04Speaker 5: know what those conversations were this year, but did you
- 15:06Speaker 5: hear them or about them other years on from Team
- 15:10Speaker 5: USA guys?
- 15:13Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, I'm trying to think if we had
- 15:17Speaker 2: anyone on I don't think I guess in twenty twenty
- 15:21Speaker 2: three or when was the last WBC twenty twenty twenty
- 15:24Speaker 2: three if we had Yeah, I don't know if we
- 15:26Speaker 2: had anyone on the USA team, But like I think,
- 15:29Speaker 2: Dean's been with Israel for the last two times and
- 15:33Speaker 2: everyone's come back with just the utmost positive things to
- 15:37Speaker 2: say about their experience. And Enrique just came back from

- 17:02Speaker 2: Hey, Madly, I'm gonna jump in here for a question.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Uh, what do you think about the What do you
- 17:07Speaker 1: think about the division this year? I mean, obviously, you
- 17:10Speaker 1: guys did a lot in the offseason.
- 17:11Speaker 2: We gave a lot of praise to that.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I think you guys significantly improved what you've got, But
- 17:17Speaker 1: damn the Blue Jays had a run last year.
- 17:19Speaker 2: They improved.
- 17:20Speaker 1: The Yankees are running the same team back, the Red
- 17:23Speaker 1: Sox added pitching. What do you think of the division?
- 17:26Speaker 1: And you know, I can mix it in with like
- 17:28Speaker 1: the Classic. Do you think it's the best division in baseball?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Toughest division?
- 17:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's I feel like every year that
- 17:38Speaker 2: every year have been with the team, The AL East
- 17:40Speaker 2: has always been talked about as a very strong division,
- 17:43Speaker 2: and everyone's trying to win it. You know, everyone's bringing
- 17:47Speaker 2: on pieces trying to trying to win, and you just
- 17:50Speaker 2: you expect that year in and year out. So I
- 17:53Speaker 2: think for us, it's something you're kind of used to, uh,
- 17:57Speaker 2: And we're just focused on trying to like control what
- 18:01Speaker 2: we can control in our locker room the day to
- 18:03Speaker 2: day and making sure that we're doing the right stuff
- 18:06Speaker 2: because at the end of the day, that's all we
- 18:08Speaker 2: can control is is our clubhouse and our expectations what
- 18:11Speaker 2: we do and hopefully like that takes care of takes
- 18:16Speaker 2: care of it.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Who are you living with this spring? Got?
- 18:20Speaker 2: Uh, well, if you Gunner, you're great.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Gunner's on here.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so Gunner. Gunner was living with us and whenever
- 18:28Speaker 2: he gets back for you know, hopefully a day or two.
- 18:32Speaker 3: No, you don't want him to win. What did you
- 18:34Speaker 3: say he's back in a day or two?
- 18:35Speaker 2: I mean for a day or two. Like I was like,
- 18:39Speaker 2: I don't know the last day of the WBC, but
- 18:40Speaker 2: it's next Tuesday, so yeah, and I think we leave
- 18:44Speaker 2: Saturday or something. So yeah, like day or two. Okay,
- 18:48Speaker 2: you know we bounce out. No, not in there. No, No,
- 18:54Speaker 2: we're happy for Gunner, but you know we miss him.
- 18:57Speaker 2: We miss him around the house. Uh. Westburg Kowser also
- 19:02Speaker 2: in the house. So it feels like it feels everyone
- 19:06Speaker 2: feels a little lost.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Last year you had Lego. You guys were doing Legos and.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Of cows Yeah, cowsers in on He's he was in
- 19:13Speaker 2: on Legos last year. Now it's Pokemon. Two years ago
- 19:16Speaker 2: we bought like a camera and was super in on photography.
- 19:19Speaker 2: So he's all over the map and we never know
- 19:21Speaker 2: what he's what did he do?
- 19:22Speaker 3: Pokemon? He buys cards? Yeah, yeah, like you don't know
- 19:26Speaker 3: how Pokemon.
- 19:26Speaker 2: No, it's like it's like he's like talking about like
- 19:30Speaker 2: the investment of buying Pokemon cards and like how much
- 19:33Speaker 2: they He's just a you know, he's a bad guy,
- 19:37Speaker 2: so he just whatever it's popular.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I would love that, wouldn't.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I love him.
- 19:45Speaker 3: I love him, but I will did Holidays it was
- 19:47Speaker 3: Jackson with you guys.
- 19:49Speaker 2: No Jackson. Jackson has been a little too cool for
- 19:51Speaker 2: our group, you know. He uh yeah, yeah, you can
- 19:56Speaker 2: tell him. I said that.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I love Jackson, you love everybody.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I know. Jackson's great man, He's great. But I do.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I do enjoy you know, anytime. You know, haven't got
- 20:06Speaker 2: to golf with him, you know, but when I do,
- 20:10Speaker 2: it's it's a fun time because I just like talking.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I like chirping in his ear and he just doesn't
- 20:15Speaker 2: say anything back, but I know it gets under his skin.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Really.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah, in one of these days, he's going to crack
- 20:19Speaker 2: and he's gonna fire back with something hurtful and like
- 20:21Speaker 2: what would be to him? Yeah, I don't know, like
- 20:27Speaker 2: terrible wedshot, Like you have the hands of a brickmaker.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Really. Yeah, he never says anything.
- 20:32Speaker 2: I've never said that line on a course, but that
- 20:34Speaker 2: could be something you could say, like any bad drive,
- 20:38Speaker 2: like oh you mean to.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I don't know where?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, just like, oh did you know you like were
- 20:45Speaker 2: aimed over there? And he just kind of continues. He
- 20:49Speaker 2: puts his head down, he works, but you know, has
- 20:52Speaker 2: yet to has yet to beat me on the course.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Okay, that's good, is he or? No? Hopeful?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Sure, and get him on here just so he can.
- 21:02Speaker 3: He's scheduled, he's scheduled to appear.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah again, maybe too cool. You might get that.
- 21:06Speaker 3: But we have we have, we have scars, we share
- 21:09Speaker 3: with each other. So we're good.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Oh.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Perfect.
- 21:11Speaker 4: So when you were at Oregon State, you were drafted
- 21:15Speaker 4: one overall. Did you go to teams and say I
- 21:17Speaker 4: can only wear orange and black? So that's why the
- 21:20Speaker 4: Orioles picture.
- 21:21Speaker 3: One to one? Uh? It was the Orioles are the
- 21:24Speaker 3: giants were your only options?
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean the colourway has been super easy. It's
- 21:28Speaker 2: been an easy transition the entire time. I guess I'm
- 21:31Speaker 2: just a man of man of comfort.
- 21:36Speaker 3: You don't like, no, I do I do.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Halloween's fine, it's totally fine. Uh, more of a you know,
- 21:42Speaker 2: Christmas fourth of July.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I get it. I get We have the clip of you.
- 21:46Speaker 4: I wasn't on when you were on last time, I
- 21:47Speaker 4: don't know, so I never got but you here, this
- 21:50Speaker 4: is you and you know who you're tackling. I'm sure
- 21:52Speaker 4: you've seen this at times. Is this the greatest moment
- 21:54Speaker 4: in your sports career?
- 21:56Speaker 3: Right here?
- 21:59Speaker 2: I mean, this is the moment they get shown the most.
- 22:02Speaker 2: At the time. It was the punter kick kickoff, kickoff, Yeah, yeah,
- 22:07Speaker 2: why do you kick a touchback? Well, we were just
- 22:10Speaker 2: trying to kick away from him and they did it sweitch,
- 22:12Speaker 2: so like if you can't see the back angle, but
- 22:14Speaker 2: like he was lined up on the other side, and
- 22:15Speaker 2: then like as we were coming up to the ball,
- 22:17Speaker 2: they like switched because they want to get him the
- 22:19Speaker 2: ball obviously, So we were just trying to kick away
- 22:22Speaker 2: from him and he got it. So uh, I ended
- 22:25Speaker 2: up tackling him and then it was like me and
- 22:27Speaker 2: all the other specialists like in you know, on the
- 22:30Speaker 2: sideline afterwards, we're like, oh my gosh, like that was crazy,
- 22:34Speaker 2: But it didn't feel like that big of a thing
- 22:36Speaker 2: at the time because it was just like a group
- 22:37Speaker 2: of six of us like kind of like yeah, but
- 22:40Speaker 2: also we were losing at the time.
- 22:41Speaker 4: So when you were the kickof they feel like a
- 22:44Speaker 4: relief pitcher, like a special teams player like we used to.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Adam Dunn used to call the all the relievers kickers
- 22:50Speaker 4: because they only played like a quarter of the game,
- 22:52Speaker 4: so they need him in special situations.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I would say I felt so as a freshman kicker
- 22:57Speaker 2: on the team two months into college. I felt probably
- 23:03Speaker 2: much less than that. I would say, not a ton
- 23:06Speaker 2: of friends on the team at the time, really low
- 23:09Speaker 2: on the pulled podium, A specialist and a freshman, so, uh,
- 23:13Speaker 2: you know, not getting a lot of convers You.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Didn't use that out out at night, I know, like
- 23:16Speaker 4: a you know, we're not Friday next. You played on
- 23:19Speaker 4: like a Tuesday night. You were like you go out
- 23:22Speaker 4: to a nice restaurant. Yeah, you'd say, hey girl, I'm
- 23:25Speaker 4: a freshman kickoff specialist.
- 23:28Speaker 2: No, I don't think I'm using that one. Uh, you know,
- 23:31Speaker 2: it did help once once baseball season started, then some
- 23:34Speaker 2: people are like, oh, well, we didn't know we.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Played baseball catcher.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Oh wow, you're actually like cooler than we thought we you.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Know, you down here.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Oh, you play baseball. It's a little bit. You're you're
- 23:46Speaker 2: better than so yeah, tough ball.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Yes, thank you very much for joining us. This is awesome. Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 3: thank you.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, really good and we'll.
- 23:57Speaker 3: See we'll see you in Baltimore, I hope.
- 23:59Speaker 2: So all right, thanks guts, thanks sadly, you were awesome.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Mm hm
