Casual dining chains like Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesday, Red Robin, and Mimi’s Cafe are facing a brutal reckoning as rising costs and shrinking foot traffic force closures across the board. Mimi’s, now down to just 39 locations after a French buyout in 2013, shuttered nearly all its Sacramento spots—leaving only one—and even saw a Colorado Springs location permanently close after 25 health violations.
