- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot, one morning at a time. Welcome to
- 0:04Speaker 1: the Alabama Show.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I know you're sick about hearing it, but I don't care.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I don't care. I know exactly where it's going.
- 0:22Speaker 4: I know you do, because I went to Tractor Supply
- 0:24Speaker 4: to get chicken food yesterday, and they had the baby chicks,
- 0:26Speaker 4: and I heard them chirping, and I don't need any more,
- 0:28Speaker 4: but they had this breed that I wanted, and you
- 0:29Speaker 4: will appreciate this breed of chicken, because now I'm.
- 0:32Speaker 2: A bougie chicken lady, and I get my chickens for
- 0:35Speaker 2: their breeds. You want to know what kind I got?
- 0:38Speaker 2: I got two of them. I don't. A zombie chicken.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Go on.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I told you he would like it.
- 0:45Speaker 2: They're so cool looking. I'll show you a picture of
- 0:47Speaker 2: what it's going to look like. It's a white chicken
- 0:49Speaker 2: with black spots on it, but its legs and its
- 0:52Speaker 2: beak and the little red thing on top of his
- 0:55Speaker 2: head is all black, and its eyes are black, and
- 0:57Speaker 2: it looks like a zombie.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Okay, still. It's cool looking. It does look cool, but
- 1:04Speaker 3: it's too early to care about a chicken. I'll be
- 1:07Speaker 3: honest with you. I don't care enough to care.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Well, I do. I'm excited. I hid them in the
- 1:13Speaker 2: guest trailer last night. Nobody knows I brought them home
- 1:15Speaker 2: except me and you and everybody listening to the show
- 1:18Speaker 2: this morning. We'll see what happens.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Well, I guess in my news, I slept with my
- 1:25Speaker 3: watch on last night. That's great.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 3: What was your heart rate?
- 1:30Speaker 2: What was your respiratory rate?
- 1:32Speaker 3: I'm just kidding.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I don't sleep good.
- 1:33Speaker 3: You don't care?
- 1:34Speaker 2: How many cycles of REM did you get?
- 1:36Speaker 3: I only got one hour and 45 minutes of REM.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Anyway, I call the show. Good morning.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I'm just doing it. Tell me more.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Oh, I had a deep sleep for 38 minutes. I
- 1:48Speaker 3: hate this. Yeah, I listen to your chicken, you listen
- 1:52Speaker 3: to me sleep.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Okay, call the show, 833-501-BAMA is the number. Good morning. Stop.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It's What the Hell Headlines.
- 2:00Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 2:02Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 2:05Speaker 2: A deputy dressed as a traffic cone crossed the street
- 2:08Speaker 2: and drivers still didn't stop.
- 2:10Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 2:12Speaker 3: Well, if I see a cone moving, I'm probably not
- 2:13Speaker 3: going to stop either.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You don't hit a traffic cone. Are you kidding me?
- 2:17Speaker 3: I just go through them.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That's when you go to jail. A police officer in
- 2:20Speaker 2: California tried an experiment. He dressed as a traffic cone.
- 2:24Speaker 2: and walked in a crosswalk to see how many people
- 2:26Speaker 2: would stop. And the answer was not many. They pulled
- 2:29Speaker 2: more than 60 people over during the experiment, and two
- 2:32Speaker 2: got hit with DUIs. Listen to the cop talking to
- 2:35Speaker 2: some of the drivers.
- 2:36Speaker 5: You didn't see my partner in the big orange cone
- 2:38Speaker 5: in the middle of the crosswalk? So now, partner, you
- 2:40Speaker 5: damn near.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Ran him over.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Giant cone walking through the middle.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Of the road.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I don't know how you missed it. See, you almost
- 2:47Speaker 1: ran him over. What the hell?

- 5:36Speaker 6: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I have a.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Real life ghost story for you.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Okay, hit me with it.
- 5:44Speaker 2: By the way, thank you for listening to The Alabama Show.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I'm Alabama with producer Blake. That's me. If you have
- 5:49Speaker 2: ghost stories, call the show because it's Halloween and I
- 5:51Speaker 2: want to tell ghost stories today. 833-501-BAMA and I'll start
- 5:55Speaker 2: with mine.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Okay, go ahead. This happened in.
- 5:58Speaker 2: The year of early 2020 in younger Alabama's life.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:04Speaker 2: So I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose and this
- 6:08Speaker 2: is when I was in college and I had like
- 6:09Speaker 2: a college apartment downtown And me and my boyfriend were
- 6:14Speaker 2: watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And then we fell asleep. Yeah. And then I woke
- 6:20Speaker 2: up in the middle of the night. I... Have you
- 6:22Speaker 2: ever had sleep paralysis where you wake up, but you
- 6:24Speaker 2: can't move?
- 6:25Speaker 3: No, I've not.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Oh, it is the freakiest thing. I used to get
- 6:29Speaker 2: it all the time and think that there were demons
- 6:31Speaker 2: that were just standing over my bed. Like I would
- 6:33Speaker 2: say it was crazy. So after we watched The Exorcism
- 6:36Speaker 2: of Emily Rose, which I highly suggest don't because it's
- 6:39Speaker 2: the scariest movie.
- 6:40Speaker 3: In the world.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I woke up and my body was frozen and I
- 6:44Speaker 2: was laying on my back, but my arm was floating
- 6:47Speaker 2: in the air. And my boyfriend was laying next to
- 6:49Speaker 2: me and I kept trying to talk to tell him
- 6:51Speaker 2: to wake up because why was my arm floating in
- 6:55Speaker 2: the air?
- 6:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:56Speaker 2: And I couldn't move. I couldn't say anything. My arms
- 6:59Speaker 2: just floating in the air. Finally, I'm able to wake
- 7:01Speaker 2: up and I wake him up and I'm freaking out.
- 7:03Speaker 2: We turn the lights on in the bedroom. The apartment
- 7:06Speaker 2: that I lived in, it was like a house split
- 7:08Speaker 2: in two, a duplex. So there was the front door
- 7:11Speaker 2: and there was a back door at the foot of
- 7:12Speaker 2: my bed that I locked and shut every night, okay? Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 2: That door was cracked open.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Are you sure? Like three inches. You sure it was
- 7:21Speaker 3: a ghost? It was a ghost. Absolutely.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I lock it every night. It was not a homeless person.
- 7:28Speaker 3: No. Yeah, it had to be a ghost. Shut up.
- 7:30Speaker 3: It had to be a ghost. Don't ruin my ghost story.
- 7:34Speaker 3: This is Halloween. All right, spooky.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I swear to God, I hope you get sleep paralysis tonight.
- 7:41Speaker 3: That is awful to wish on anybody.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yes, I hope you get it because you're laughing at.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Me and my story.
- 7:48Speaker 2: The guy just held my arm in the air and
- 7:50Speaker 2: then opened the door and it ran out when we
- 7:52Speaker 2: woke up.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Call the show if you got a ghost story. 833-501-BAMA.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The Alabama Show on demand. Yes! Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 8:05Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show if you
- 8:08Speaker 2: have a real-life ghost story. We would love to hear
- 8:10Speaker 2: it for Halloween. Steven's in Tuscaloosa. Good morning.
- 8:13Speaker 5: I got you a ghost story.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Tell me the ghost story.
- 8:17Speaker 1: A real one. All right.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Let's hear it. Okay.
- 8:20Speaker 5: I have this friend, and he... He used to work
- 8:24Speaker 5: for me part-time.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Is his name Casper?
- 8:27Speaker 2: And no, his name is Joel. Okay.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Joel Lancaster. And he lived in this house in Riverdale,
- 8:35Speaker 5: and his mom died, like, in the back bedroom. Well,
- 8:39Speaker 5: I would have to go over there and leave him
- 8:41Speaker 5: stuff for the job. And one time I went over there,
- 8:45Speaker 5: and I'm looking, and there's, you know, these, like, pothos
- 8:49Speaker 5: plant vines.
- 8:50Speaker 1: It starts moving.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Ew.
- 8:52Speaker 5: And he's already told me some stuff, right?
- 8:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Okay, ghost. I don't want to see you. I don't
- 8:59Speaker 5: want to know about you. And it stopped.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I love that you automatically just started talking to it.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Yeah, well, because, you know, I'm kind of psychic, so
- 9:09Speaker 5: I can do stuff.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 9:10Speaker 5: But anyway, long story short, I kept sensing stuff in
- 9:14Speaker 5: the house, and I would, like, push it away.
- 9:16Speaker 1: You can do that.
- 9:19Speaker 5: I knew it was his mother. He woke up in
- 9:21Speaker 5: the middle of the night. He has his closet and
- 9:24Speaker 5: it was like, you know, he had it locked because
- 9:27Speaker 5: he has cats. And he said it was like a
- 9:29Speaker 5: loud noise, like the whole closet just fell in. And
- 9:33Speaker 5: he opened it. It's perfectly fine. Well, we, I had
- 9:36Speaker 5: friends that were in a paranormal group, and they come
- 9:40Speaker 5: and did an investigation all night, one night, and they
- 9:43Speaker 5: got all kind of stuff. They got a woman saying,
- 9:45Speaker 5: get him out of here.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 9:47Speaker 5: They were hearing a voice saying, Tomcat. His mom had, like,
- 9:50Speaker 5: nine cats.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 9:52Speaker 5: It was wild.
- 9:54Speaker 1: The Alabama Show On Demand. Amazing. Free on the iHeartRadio app.

- 15:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, I do.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I'm Alabama with producer Blake. That's me. What happened?
- 15:43Speaker 2: Because there was a costume contest. Obviously, you didn't wear
- 15:47Speaker 2: the paint that you painted on your face on the
- 15:49Speaker 2: show yesterday. So what did you dress up as?
- 15:51Speaker 7: I went with old reliable and I wore my steak costume.
- 15:54Speaker 3: You wore a steak? Yes, I was a big old
- 15:57Speaker 3: meat guy. And so we had a bunch of people
- 16:02Speaker 3: show up and one guy.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Was it a costume contest?
- 16:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 7: The winner of the top three got like prizes, some
- 16:10Speaker 7: gift card to somewhere. I didn't win, so I don't
- 16:11Speaker 7: know what it was. And so one guy shows up
- 16:14Speaker 7: and he's dressed as Michael Jackson.
- 16:16Speaker 2: OK.
- 16:17Speaker 3: OK.
- 16:17Speaker 7: But he has one of those photorealistic face masks.
- 16:20Speaker 3: You know, I'm talking about where it compresses to your face.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And it actually looked like Michael Jackson.
- 16:25Speaker 7: It did until he put it on.
- 16:28Speaker 3: OK, so one of the kids comes up to him.
- 16:31Speaker 2: What did it look like?
- 16:32Speaker 7: It looked like a fat head of it, but it
- 16:34Speaker 7: looked like it was an impression of Dr.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Phil doing Michael Jackson. Did you get a picture? No,
- 16:40Speaker 3: because he was never around me. He wouldn't let me
- 16:42Speaker 3: take a picture.
- 16:43Speaker 5: I tried.
- 16:44Speaker 7: So he's the little kid. A little kid comes up
- 16:48Speaker 7: and I'm talking maybe four or five. Comes up to
- 16:51Speaker 7: all of us wearing our costumes. He looks at the
- 16:53Speaker 7: Michael Jackson, starts crying and bawling.
- 16:56Speaker 8: And he goes, Mom!
- 17:01Speaker 2: Mom! Did he win?
- 17:02Speaker 7: Yeah, he won, but it wasn't because it was good.
- 17:05Speaker 7: It was because he was actually scary by accident.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Because it was so bad.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it was the scariest Michael Jackson I've ever seen.
- 17:13Speaker 7: So I can't imagine what nightmares that kid's going to
- 17:15Speaker 7: have to go through as a therapy.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I love that.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Call the show. Have you ever won a Halloween costume contest?
- 17:21Speaker 3: What did you wear to win? 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 17:22Speaker 2: That's 833-501-2262. You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 17:33Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. If you've
- 17:36Speaker 2: ever won a Halloween costume contest, what was your costume
- 17:40Speaker 2: and what did you win? Kiana, good morning. Were you
- 17:43Speaker 2: in a Halloween costume contest? I was.
- 17:45Speaker 8: I was a kid. I was like six or seven.
- 17:49Speaker 8: And my mom couldn't find a whole costume. So she
- 17:53Speaker 8: dressed me up as a zombie princess.
- 17:56Speaker 2: That's kind of cool.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I like that.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Did you win?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I did.
- 18:00Speaker 8: And the thing about it is, when we went to
- 18:02Speaker 8: the mall, it was a contest for adults. And I
- 18:05Speaker 8: guess they picked me because I was a child and
- 18:07Speaker 8: I look cool.
- 18:08Speaker 2: That is awesome.
- 18:12Speaker 1: What'd you win? Do you remember?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Don't.
- 18:14Speaker 8: I know I got candy. My mom probably got the
- 18:16Speaker 8: grown-up prize.
- 18:17Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah, your mom got the money. You got a Snickers bar.
- 18:20Speaker 8: She's like, yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I love that.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Thank you for calling and sharing.

- 18:41Speaker 5: Like, the mid-' 80s, and she lived there for 30 years.
- 18:45Speaker 4: And an old lady died there before.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Okay. So many things would happen in that house. Like what?
- 18:49Speaker 2: The air would rock by itself. One time we had
- 18:52Speaker 2: a sleepover for my cousin's 13th birthday. We took a
- 18:55Speaker 2: picture of all of us, like, laying on the ground,
- 18:57Speaker 2: and there was a black cat sitting.
- 18:59Speaker 1: On the couch.
- 19:00Speaker 2: My aunt never owned a black cat.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Girl!
- 19:02Speaker 2: Polaroid pictures, you know, those, back in the day. Oh,
