- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, the truth about sorority life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts, me.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Gia Giudice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler. Welcome back to
- 0:12Speaker 2: another episode of Dirty Rush.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Today, we're joined by Hannah Kramrov, an ex-sorority girl who
- 0:17Speaker 1: dropped her chapter from an Instagram post. She is here
- 0:20Speaker 1: to dish the dirt on what really went down and
- 0:22Speaker 1: what ultimately brought her sorority experience to an end. Please
- 0:25Speaker 1: welcome Hannah to Dirty Rush. So where did you go
- 0:29Speaker 1: to school?
- 0:30Speaker 3: I went to TCU for two years and I was
- 0:33Speaker 3: in the sorority for two years as well.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:36Speaker 1: So what was the recruitment process like at TCU, like
- 0:39Speaker 1: a day to day?
- 0:41Speaker 3: It was like, if I'm being honest, I don't even remember.
- 0:43Speaker 3: It was a blur, but you had like the typical,
- 0:45Speaker 3: like the first day, everything was on an app.
- 0:48Speaker 2: So like, interesting.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 3: So like you go into the basketball gym or something
- 0:53Speaker 3: and then you get all of your like houses that
- 0:55Speaker 3: you got back and.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Are you talking about kind of like the ranking app?
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00Speaker 3: And so I was like, I remember I got dropped
- 1:02Speaker 3: from like so many, like the first, I didn't even
- 1:04Speaker 3: get the chance to go into like half the sororities.
- 1:07Speaker 3: And so I already was like, something's wrong.
- 1:09Speaker 1: So you never went through open house like normally, like
- 1:12Speaker 1: you didn't go to every single house on the first day.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I didn't go to every single house. I got, I
- 1:17Speaker 3: think back six of 12.
- 1:19Speaker 2: On the, on day one.
- 1:21Speaker 3: On day one.
- 1:22Speaker 2: That's so weird.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Like crazy. So like, I had six houses and then
- 1:27Speaker 3: it was like, I don't know, it was really weird
- 1:30Speaker 3: because the sorority I was in was top, right? And
- 1:32Speaker 3: so I had top house and then I had like,
- 1:35Speaker 3: not like, I hate saying this, but like low-key the
- 1:38Speaker 3: bottom ones. And so I was like scared for my
- 1:40Speaker 3: life because I was like, I didn't want to rush anyway.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Like I was like, why am I doing this?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Like, I don't know.
- 1:45Speaker 3: And I'm always like the type of person that like
- 1:46Speaker 3: I want the best. So I was like, if I'm
- 1:49Speaker 3: not either the top two, like I'm going to drop,
- 1:51Speaker 3: which is terrible. Like I shouldn't even have that.
- 1:53Speaker 2: No, but I get it.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Girls have that mentality when they go into rush. And
- 1:56Speaker 1: I mean, also no girl wants to be in the
- 1:59Speaker 1: bottom house. It's just normal.
- 2:01Speaker 3: No.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And so I was like, I, my parents, like literally
- 2:04Speaker 3: they went to college, but they both dropped out. Like
- 2:05Speaker 3: they were not in, my dad was in a fraternity,
- 2:07Speaker 3: but it's like very different.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:09Speaker 3: And so I had no idea what I was expecting. And, um,
- 2:13Speaker 3: So yeah, then I got my open house back, whatever.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And I could only go to six of them. And
- 2:19Speaker 3: I remember I didn't like any of them. Like all
- 2:21Speaker 3: of them I like hated except for the one that
- 2:24Speaker 3: I got. And so for pref, I, um, I was
- 2:29Speaker 3: like freaking out because it was like bottom house and
- 2:31Speaker 3: top house.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I would. Yeah. That's very understandable.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Which is like fine. Like, again, like if I got, honestly,
- 2:39Speaker 3: if I got the other one, I probably would have
- 2:41Speaker 3: been happier and I probably would have still been at school.
- 2:44Speaker 3: which is crazy to think about.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah, no, definitely.
- 2:47Speaker 1: What do people not realize about going through rush at TCU?
- 2:52Speaker 3: I just feel like TCU, everybody follows the crowd and
- 2:56Speaker 3: that's just not me at all. Like I don't, I
- 2:58Speaker 3: don't like that. And so like, I kind of, I
- 3:01Speaker 3: kind of suspected that going in just because I'm like,
- 3:04Speaker 3: what do you expect? Like going to Texas school? No
- 3:06Speaker 3: one's from Texas either, which is crazy. Um, and so
- 3:10Speaker 3: everybody just like follows each other, which like I've made
- 3:13Speaker 3: great friends at TCU, but then like the other ones
- 3:15Speaker 3: that I'm not really close with, it's like, why do
- 3:16Speaker 3: we all have to be the same person? You know
- 3:18Speaker 3: what I mean? Like, I just, I just don't like that.
- 3:21Speaker 3: And it's a whole bunch of mean girls, which I
- 3:22Speaker 3: don't like either. Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Being from Dallas, did you feel like you knew what
- 3:27Speaker 1: to expect going into Southern sorority recruitment or was it
- 3:31Speaker 1: different than you expected?
- 3:32Speaker 3: I honestly, like, I didn't even know what to expect.
- 3:35Speaker 3: So like all my friends in high school, they're like
- 3:37Speaker 3: so excited to rush. And I'm like, I'm like, what
- 3:40Speaker 3: is this? Like, I have no idea. And my parents
- 3:42Speaker 3: were like, just do it. Just do it. Like we
- 3:44Speaker 3: never had the experience. So like you want to just
- 3:46Speaker 3: do it. And I was like, okay.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Of course.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Cause your parents want like, want better for you than
- 3:50Speaker 1: what they had. But so being from Dallas though, did
- 3:54Speaker 1: you not understand the hype of sorority, especially in the South?
- 3:58Speaker 3: I had no idea. Like I was like first day
- 4:01Speaker 3: I'm like, they're clapping. I'm like, what is this?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Okay, that's so funny.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Because being from Jersey, and I mean, just especially now
- 4:10Speaker 1: that TikTok has blown up, and then seeing especially the
- 4:13Speaker 1: Bama girls, and just how especially sororities in the South
- 4:17Speaker 1: do it so much differently than where I am from.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I went to a school in Jersey. I went to Rutgers,
- 4:23Speaker 1: Big Ten. But even though it was Big Ten- Yes,
- 4:28Speaker 1: the sorority life, the Greek life was great, but you
- 4:31Speaker 1: did not have to be in a sorority if you
- 4:34Speaker 1: went to Rutgers.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It wasn't like you had to do that.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And it was funny because talking, especially now doing this podcast,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Dirty Rush, and talking to so many different girls and
- 4:44Speaker 1: hearing their experience, when you are at a Southern school,
- 4:48Speaker 1: it feels like it is way more intense. The scale
- 4:54Speaker 1: is up here compared to what I went through. And
- 4:57Speaker 1: being from the South, I'm surprised that you didn't even
- 4:59Speaker 1: have like somewhat of an idea. Like people talk about
- 5:03Speaker 1: rush coaches, like all the things where I'm like, this
- 5:06Speaker 1: is crazy.
- 5:08Speaker 3: No, like my mom asked me, she was like, dude,
- 5:10Speaker 3: like I think you might need a rush coach. And
- 5:12Speaker 3: I was like, I'm not doing that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So your mom knew more about it than you did.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Like she was like, I've heard like from like upperclassmen,
- 5:18Speaker 3: like in high school, she was like, they have rush coaches. Like,
- 5:21Speaker 3: do you need that? And I'm like, I'm no.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not.
- 5:25Speaker 3: And she's like, okay, like I agree. My mom hates
- 5:27Speaker 3: it too. So she was like, but yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Well, it sounds a bit ridiculous when you really put
- 5:31Speaker 1: it into perspective. Like I'm going to coach you on
- 5:35Speaker 1: how to be a sorority girl.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Like what are we doing? Like, and that's another thing.
- 5:39Speaker 3: It's like, why are we pretending to be someone that
- 5:41Speaker 3: we're not? You know what I mean?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Like 100%.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I just hate that. And like, I was like, I'm
- 5:46Speaker 3: not doing this anymore.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Like, yeah.
- 5:49Speaker 1: So we know that you landed in a top house.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Was it the top house or was it like top?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So did it, because when you went into open house,
- 5:59Speaker 1: everybody else dropped you besides obviously the top sorority.
- 6:03Speaker 2: And then you had obviously lower rank sororities.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I had one other that was, that was like top.
- 6:09Speaker 3: It was like, I had the top one and then
- 6:11Speaker 3: like number three.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Did it almost feel like it was done purposely? Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Honestly, yes. I'm not going to lie.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Because it's crazy because going into it, there was one
- 6:21Speaker 3: specific sorority that I like wanted and I thought I
- 6:24Speaker 3: was going to get just because all of them followed me.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I knew like so many girls in that sorority and
- 6:29Speaker 3: I didn't know anyone like there was maybe five people
- 6:32Speaker 3: I knew like going into TCU and all of them
- 6:36Speaker 3: followed me in this one specific sorority. So I was like,
- 6:38Speaker 3: I'm for sure going that house and they dropped me
- 6:41Speaker 3: before I even got to go, which is crazy. Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 3: And like one of them would like DM me all
- 6:48Speaker 3: the time. Like I'm thinking she's going to be my big, like, yeah, no,
- 6:51Speaker 3: they dropped me.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And it's crazy.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I'm still friends with her, which is crazy. But yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Sometimes it works out like that.
- 6:58Speaker 1: But you got the house you necessarily did want, but
- 7:01Speaker 1: you said that your bid day didn't go exactly as planned.
- 7:04Speaker 1: What was that experience like? And did this happen to
- 7:07Speaker 1: any other girls in your sorority?
- 7:08Speaker 3: So I go, do you want to like explain the
- 7:11Speaker 3: whole thing?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 3: So basically it's bid day, right? Like me and my roommates,
- 7:15Speaker 3: we go to like, we have to wear all white.
- 7:17Speaker 3: So we go to the pavilion wherever we're supposed to
- 7:20Speaker 3: meet and we open our cards. I see my card.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I'm like so excited. Cause like for once, like I'm
- 7:24Speaker 3: like something got went right. Like in this process, whatever,
- 7:28Speaker 3: as I said, like I was freaking out. So then
- 7:31Speaker 3: I run home. Okay. And I'm circling around this house.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I'm not joking you for 10, 15 minutes and no
- 7:38Speaker 3: one is helping me. There is no sign for me
- 7:41Speaker 3: like imagine running home and there's no sign for you
- 7:44Speaker 3: so then I found another girl who like didn't have
- 7:47Speaker 3: one too but then I guess she got it figured
- 7:49Speaker 3: out like she had a sign and yeah so then
- 7:51Speaker 3: no one really helped me I found like another girl
- 7:54Speaker 3: she was like are you sure that you're in this
- 7:56Speaker 3: house um are you sure like let me check your
- 7:59Speaker 3: card I don't know just.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Horrible Was there a lot of people in your pledge class?
- 8:21Speaker 1: It was like, was it that hard to not manage
- 8:24Speaker 1: and not for nothing though? Like just thinking about sorority rush,
- 8:28Speaker 1: these upperclassmen should have known, especially girls that were in
- 8:31Speaker 1: charge of recruitment, they should know who's joining their house.
- 8:34Speaker 3: 100%. And it's like the next year I recruited and
- 8:38Speaker 3: like we had to make signs and like I made
- 8:40Speaker 3: sure every single girl, because I didn't want that experience
- 8:42Speaker 3: to happen for anyone else. Like actually that was horrible. Like,
- 8:46Speaker 3: top five worst days of my life.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it just feels like you're not wanted.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It just feels weird. And it's like, okay, well then
- 8:52Speaker 2: what am I doing here?
- 8:54Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. And so, yeah, it was just not very nice.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Did they apologize or like, what was their excuse for that?
- 9:01Speaker 3: They were like, oh, I'm so sorry. Like we forgot,
- 9:03Speaker 3: which is crazy because so my big told me that
- 9:06Speaker 3: like she was supposed to have me, but they told her, no,
- 9:10Speaker 3: they were like, we have someone else for you.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Interesting. Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 3: So I don't, I don't know.
- 9:15Speaker 2: That's so interesting.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Just crazy.
- 9:17Speaker 1: You ended up dropping your sorority after only two years
- 9:20Speaker 1: due to an Instagram post. What happened there?
- 9:23Speaker 3: Basically, they like they have like a social standard that
- 9:27Speaker 3: just gave it away. I'm pretty sure. But they have
- 9:29Speaker 3: like an Instagram account specifically to like monitor our accounts.
- 9:33Speaker 3: And they text me one day and there was like
- 9:35Speaker 3: a solo cup in the picture, which like I understand
- 9:38Speaker 3: like that's like normal.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:39Speaker 3: So then I saw the account and I was like, OK,
- 9:40Speaker 3: they're obviously watching me. And then they texted me again.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Like so for Halloween, I was a Victoria's Secret angel
- 9:47Speaker 3: with one of my other friends in the sorority and
- 9:49Speaker 3: they texted me months later like this was in January
- 9:52Speaker 3: or February when obviously Halloween's in October and they were like,
- 9:55Speaker 3: you need to take this down. And so I didn't
- 9:57Speaker 3: respond like I'm like, I'm not doing this. And then.
- 10:00Speaker 3: they don't say anything whatever and or they sent me
- 10:02Speaker 3: like the picture of the code of conduct and was
- 10:04Speaker 3: like this is explicit like this goes under the explicit
- 10:07Speaker 3: content so then I posted for spring break and And
- 10:13Speaker 3: she texted me again and was like, if you don't
- 10:14Speaker 3: remove this, you're going in for a meeting like honor board.
- 10:17Speaker 3: And I'm like, what? Like, I don't even respond.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Okay. But this is your spring break that basically probably
- 10:23Speaker 1: your entire sorority was at anyway.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Exactly. And I don't think anyone else got this message.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:28Speaker 3: And it's just like very frustrating because I know exactly
- 10:31Speaker 3: what the reason was because like, I don't know. I
- 10:34Speaker 3: work out a lot and I like, I hate saying
- 10:37Speaker 3: this about myself, but I do have a bigger butt.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And I know that if it was like the other
- 10:41Speaker 3: way around, there's multiple girls in the sorority who have
- 10:44Speaker 3: the exact same pose, the exact same, like everything on
- 10:47Speaker 3: the beach. Like it's just very obvious. Right. Yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 2: They were kind of just singling you out. Yeah, for sure.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And so then I don't respond. I'm obviously on the beach.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Like I'm having fun next day. I get like two
- 10:58Speaker 3: messages in a row and was like, if you don't
- 10:59Speaker 3: delete this, you're going in. And so I'm like, okay.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I was like, I'm meeting anyway. I'm thinking about dropping anyway,
- 11:05Speaker 3: because of this, like blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So
- 11:07Speaker 3: then I post, I was like, like, uh, David get
- 11:10Speaker 3: a concert and I post a picture and I'm holding
- 11:12Speaker 3: a drink. It wasn't even alcohol. And they were like,
- 11:14Speaker 3: take this down immediately. I was like, I'm literally not
- 11:18Speaker 3: even alcohol, like whatever. And so then she was like, okay,
- 11:21Speaker 3: no worries. Like, just because I had to like, say
- 11:24Speaker 3: that it's not alcohol. So then it was fine. Right.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I go into the meeting and, And they're basically singling
- 11:30Speaker 3: me out, telling me the advisor told me that I'm
- 11:33Speaker 3: never going to get a job. Like literally good luck
- 11:35Speaker 3: finding a job with that social media presence. They were
- 11:38Speaker 3: basically telling me it looked like an OnlyFans portfolio. And
- 11:41Speaker 3: then I'm just sitting there and I'm like, are we serious?
- 11:44Speaker 3: And then what's crazy is the president literally looked at me,
- 11:47Speaker 3: which I love her. She's awesome. She was like, if
- 11:49Speaker 3: I looked like you and I had your body, I
- 11:51Speaker 3: would 100% be posting the exact same way. And the
- 11:54Speaker 3: whole room just went silent. And I'm like, okay, so
- 11:56Speaker 3: that just shows you right there.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Did any, exactly that you were just like being singled
- 12:01Speaker 1: out and they were just like literally pinpointing you because
- 12:03Speaker 1: you had a good body. I mean, and that's like
- 12:06Speaker 1: bizarre to me because I mean, even in my sorority
- 12:09Speaker 1: being on spring break, everyone posted in their bikinis, everyone, everyone.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And not for nothing, everyone in my sorority was having
- 12:17Speaker 1: a great, a great time too.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And it's like, they post that, like they want that known.
- 12:22Speaker 3: And like, Obviously like we're top, right? Because like every
- 12:26Speaker 3: single girl in the sorority was drop dead. Like every
- 12:29Speaker 3: single girl is beautiful.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I'm sure your body is insane, but I'm sure you
- 12:34Speaker 1: are not the only girl in your sorority that has.
- 12:36Speaker 3: A good body.
- 12:37Speaker 1: 100%. 100%.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Every single person did.
- 12:39Speaker 2: What's your motive here? Like why are you single? Exactly.
- 12:42Speaker 3: And like the girl that would want me to take
- 12:43Speaker 3: it down, she has huge boobs, but like I don't. So, okay.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Of course me facing the front is going to be
- 12:48Speaker 3: completely different than, you know what I mean? I don't know.
- 12:51Speaker 3: It was just very targeted. Like I could tell. And
- 12:53Speaker 3: I don't want to just sound like I'm like saying
- 12:55Speaker 3: that I have a great body.
- 12:56Speaker 2: No, no.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I mean, it's also just weird. It's like you work
- 12:59Speaker 1: hard for your body. You like, you embrace it.
- 13:02Speaker 2: You love it.
- 13:03Speaker 1: You should be able to post yourself to a degree.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I mean, listen, if you're really posting photos that like
- 13:09Speaker 1: are like only fans, I doubt you're posting nudes on
- 13:12Speaker 1: your social media.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Exactly. And of course I would never post that considering
- 13:15Speaker 3: I know that there's something I need to follow, you know?
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yes. Yeah. Did any of your friends in your sorority
- 13:20Speaker 1: feel the same way you did about the culture or
- 13:23Speaker 1: did you feel alone during this entire experience?
- 13:26Speaker 3: Oh, everyone I knew personally, like all of my friends
- 13:28Speaker 3: felt the exact same way, but like none of them
- 13:30Speaker 3: wanted to drop, none of them wanted to do anything
- 13:32Speaker 3: because it's like, I guess it's good for like their
- 13:34Speaker 3: resume or whatever.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah. So your other friends were receiving some similar text
- 13:39Speaker 1: messages to this or not to this extent?
- 13:41Speaker 3: So one girl that I knew, so we would have
- 13:44Speaker 3: a school girl themed formal every single year, which is
- 13:46Speaker 3: bizarre to me because what do you mean I can't
- 13:48Speaker 3: post in a bikini, but I can wear like lingerie
- 13:52Speaker 3: under like a mini skirt and a top, right? And
- 13:54Speaker 3: glasses and like give that aesthetic.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Give that energy. It was cute.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Like best outfit I've ever worn for a formal, but-
- 14:02Speaker 3: one girl posted in it and they told her to
- 14:05Speaker 3: take it down.
- 14:05Speaker 2: You created the theme.
- 14:07Speaker 3: We have the theme of this. Why are we not
- 14:09Speaker 3: allowed to post that? And like, that just doesn't make
- 14:10Speaker 3: sense to me. Like, obviously we shouldn't be having that.
- 14:13Speaker 1: It was almost like your sorority was like allowing you
- 14:16Speaker 1: girls to like give that energy. And I mean, listen,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you guys are like, you're in college. You're supposed to
- 14:21Speaker 1: feel hot, have fun. Like truthfully, these are the photos
- 14:24Speaker 1: that you're going to look back at, you know, and
- 14:26Speaker 1: especially now I feel like I was like, not, I
- 14:29Speaker 1: feel like I was not the same person in college
- 14:31Speaker 1: that I am now.
- 14:32Speaker 2: If I looked the way that I.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Looked now when I was in college, I would be like,
- 14:36Speaker 1: hell yeah, I'm embracing everything. But it's just funny how
- 14:40Speaker 1: times change. My little sister, I feel like she has
- 14:42Speaker 1: never gone through an awkward phase. Meanwhile, I feel like
- 14:45Speaker 1: I've gone through five.
- 14:46Speaker 2: But now I feel like.
- 14:51Speaker 1: You're in college, you're supposed to post, have fun, be confident.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And these are the photos that you're going to look
- 14:57Speaker 1: back on and be like, wow, like that was me
- 14:59Speaker 1: in college.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Like that was me. I was hot. I was that girl.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But like, It also feels like they're almost trying to
- 15:06Speaker 1: like allow you guys to like give this aesthetic or like,
- 15:09Speaker 1: you know, participate in events that are giving this aesthetic.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 1: But then it backfires on you guys when you like
- 15:17Speaker 1: post that you're having fun doing things that you are
- 15:19Speaker 1: told to be doing by your sorority.
- 15:22Speaker 3: And it's like, I'm assuming that they didn't want that
- 15:24Speaker 3: posted for other people to like talk and like have assumptions,
- 15:26Speaker 3: but I'm like, they already do. And especially if you're
- 15:28Speaker 3: having this formal and then you're going to tell everybody
- 15:30Speaker 3: to delete it.
- 15:31Speaker 1: But also formals are also so public when you, when
- 15:34Speaker 1: you go to a college or a university, like.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Everyone in Greek life knows, Oh, okay.
- 15:38Speaker 1: This sorority is having their formal this night and they
- 15:41Speaker 1: coordinate it very well. So that like, obviously frat brothers
- 15:45Speaker 1: can like go with, for sure. Like it's very well coordinated.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Everyone knows about it.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 1: After that, you ultimately left TCU as well. And after dropping,
- 16:09Speaker 1: was your decision to leave the school and your decision
- 16:12Speaker 1: to drop your sorority connected?
- 16:14Speaker 3: Kind of, honestly. I just like felt like that school,
- 16:17Speaker 3: like it's claiming to be a Christian school and it's
- 16:20Speaker 3: not at all. I just was not happy at all.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Like literally nothing. So I was like, I'm done.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I'm out. Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 3: And I've never looked back.
- 16:31Speaker 2: What was the best part of being in your sorority?
- 16:33Speaker 1: Is there anything about sorority life that you genuinely missed
- 16:37Speaker 1: before you dropped?
- 16:39Speaker 3: I would say, I mean, I have a great little.
- 16:42Speaker 3: my friends that I got out of it, like is great. Like,
- 16:45Speaker 3: but besides that, I mean, I just don't like being
- 16:47Speaker 3: told what to do.
- 16:48Speaker 2: But it was to an extent you felt singled out.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I mean, when, if you're a freshman and you're posting
- 16:54Speaker 1: with alcohol or you're under the age of 21, you're
- 16:56Speaker 1: posting with alcohol, you're on elevated surfaces, little things like that.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Like there's a degree of which it's like, okay, just
- 17:03Speaker 1: follow these stupid rules. And then when you're 21, everything
- 17:07Speaker 1: will be fine. But when you're feeling singled out, like
- 17:11Speaker 1: about your body, little things that like other girls in
- 17:14Speaker 1: your sorority are obviously posting. That's when it's, I just
- 17:18Speaker 1: feel like it's not fun.
- 17:20Speaker 3: And it's like, okay, do you know what Yik Yak is? Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Okay. So then a bunch of my
- 17:25Speaker 3: friends screenshot and like send me all these messages that
- 17:29Speaker 3: after I posted that video, everyone is like posting screenshots
- 17:33Speaker 3: and being like, oh my gosh, like Hannah Kramer off
- 17:35Speaker 3: is like goaded for like finally flaming on the sorority.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Like everyone's hyping me up in there. And I'm like,
- 17:42Speaker 3: That just shows you like how many people like agree
- 17:44Speaker 3: with what I'm saying. And they're like, you know, and
- 17:47Speaker 3: then someone was like, well, she does look so slutty
- 17:49Speaker 3: or whatever. And then someone commented back and was like, okay,
- 17:52Speaker 3: just say that you're in her sorority and then immediately
- 17:54Speaker 3: deletes the comment.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I'm like, that just shows you like, it's like, it's
- 17:58Speaker 3: all just for publicity.
- 18:00Speaker 1: What was the social scene like at TCU? How much
- 18:03Speaker 1: should being in a sorority shape your college experience?
- 18:06Speaker 3: It was very clicky. I will say, but like most
- 18:08Speaker 3: of my friends were not in my sorority.
- 18:11Speaker 2: It happens like that, too.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I had a lot of friends that were in different sororities.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Yeah. And it's like, I mean, I just feel like
- 18:17Speaker 3: you don't need to be obviously like to get invited
- 18:20Speaker 3: to like the frat parties and stuff. You need to
- 18:22Speaker 3: be in one or like, no. But like apparently our school,
- 18:26Speaker 3: some of the sororities wouldn't even get invited to the
- 18:28Speaker 3: frat parties, which is crazy to me. I don't know.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure like I'm not.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I mean, maybe if it was a closed mixer and like.
- 18:36Speaker 1: how it went at Rutgers was like, if you had
- 18:37Speaker 1: a closed mixer, it would kind of be like the pregame,
- 18:40Speaker 1: you know, you and another fraternity, you guys would pregame
- 18:43Speaker 1: together from like 10 to 1130. And then at like 1145,
- 18:47Speaker 1: the doors open to everyone.
- 18:49Speaker 2: So that's kind of how it was at Rutgers.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I have no idea if I'm being honest, but yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 3: I just feel like it did nothing for me if
- 18:57Speaker 3: I'm being honest. Like, and like, that's, I feel bad, like,
- 19:00Speaker 3: just like trashing on it, but like.
- 19:02Speaker 1: No, but it was an experience for you when you
- 19:04Speaker 1: learned from it and realized that like you didn't need
- 19:07Speaker 1: it in your life anymore.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Where did you transfer to after TCU?
- 19:11Speaker 3: I went to like the smaller school in Arlington, Texas,
- 19:13Speaker 3: or it's not even small. It's bigger than TCU, but UTA.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Okay, awesome. And do you love it?
- 19:19Speaker 3: I loved it, but then they stopped offering my degree online.
- 19:22Speaker 3: So I moved to ACU online.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Just wow.
- 19:25Speaker 3: But yeah, I'm an online school now.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Okay, so like your college experience really got.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Like, I like truly believe and it's crazy. I was
- 19:32Speaker 3: talking to one of my best friends who still goes
- 19:34Speaker 3: to TCU and we were just talking and we were like,
- 19:37Speaker 3: it's crazy how if we went literally anywhere else, I
- 19:40Speaker 3: believe that my experience would have been completely different. I
- 19:43Speaker 3: think that I would have loved it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Did being in a sorority ever affect what
- 19:47Speaker 1: you could post online on social media or how you
- 19:50Speaker 1: presented yourself online? Like, did you ever feel like, even
- 19:54Speaker 1: though you were posting whatever you wanted to post, did
- 19:56Speaker 1: you ever restrict yourself in other ways?
- 19:59Speaker 3: Like for the alcohol and stuff? Of course.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 3: And also like, it was hard. Cause like I'm a bartender.
- 20:04Speaker 3: And so like, I couldn't even post being at work,
- 20:06Speaker 3: but like, I knew that like, obviously I'm going to
- 20:08Speaker 3: follow that rule, but like, Once it was to the
- 20:10Speaker 3: extent of that, like, me not being able to post
- 20:14Speaker 3: in bikini, that was, like, where it's, like, wild. Like,
- 20:16Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm done.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it is wild. Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Besides the social media aspect, were there other rules that
- 20:22Speaker 1: were a part of your chapter that you thought were
- 20:25Speaker 1: completely ridiculous?
- 20:27Speaker 3: Honestly, no. But, like, there was a lot of rumors
- 20:29Speaker 3: that we would haze and stuff, which I'm sure comes
- 20:31Speaker 3: with every sorority. But, like, you know that, like, washing
- 20:36Speaker 3: machine rumor? Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's the chapter at
- 20:39Speaker 3: TCU that I was in. Like that started with that.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, it could be a rumor
- 20:44Speaker 3: for everything.
- 20:45Speaker 1: No, but I honestly think that that, maybe it did
- 20:48Speaker 1: happen like way back when, but I just don't think
- 20:50Speaker 1: it happens now.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Like I think- Oh, I don't either.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I don't think- People would literally be like canceled, like
- 20:56Speaker 1: literally off campus, not even allowed to be a part
- 20:59Speaker 1: of that.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Like I feel like it would be crazy. Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But TCU is a school where Greek life is such
- 21:05Speaker 1: a big part of the culture. Do you think- If
- 21:08Speaker 1: you do you think you still would have transferred if
- 21:11Speaker 1: your sorority experience would have been different?
- 21:13Speaker 3: Honestly, yes. But I do think that if I was
- 21:16Speaker 3: in like a lower tier, right, I think that I
- 21:19Speaker 3: would have loved it. I think that I would have
- 21:20Speaker 3: had so many more friends. It's like if you're I
- 21:23Speaker 3: don't know, like everybody says it's bottom house, but it's
- 21:26Speaker 3: actually top in my opinion. Like I think they're like,
- 21:28Speaker 3: why would you want fake friends? Like I'm just not
- 21:31Speaker 3: and I'm not saying that everybody is like that.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But you would have rather been a part of a
- 21:34Speaker 1: sorority where the girls were more real.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yes, 100%. And don't get me wrong, there's several in
- 21:41Speaker 3: my sorority that were down to earth and stuff. But then,
- 21:44Speaker 3: I don't know, I think it was just like the
- 21:47Speaker 3: mixture of everything that happened. Like it wasn't even my
- 21:49Speaker 3: class that ruined it for me. Like my class was great.
- 21:52Speaker 3: It was the upperclassmen.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And honestly, sometimes that's very normal when where the older
- 21:59Speaker 1: you get in your sorority, the more of like uh
- 22:02Speaker 1: the more level of like hierarchy you feel like you
- 22:04Speaker 1: have in power so then you just like completely over
- 22:09Speaker 1: compensate everything that you're doing and it's just too much
- 22:12Speaker 1: it just becomes like od honestly it's.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Just like a lot yes 100 like yeah i just
- 22:18Speaker 3: can't and like the advisor saying that to me like
- 22:20Speaker 3: was i'm like are you kidding me like really.
- 22:23Speaker 1: That was not much But listen, I'm so happy that
- 22:27Speaker 1: you are happy now with where you are at.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And you know what?
