- 0:38Speaker 4: So there's there's just some some hip hop staples four
- 0:47Speaker 4: certain times of the year. DJ Jazzy Jeff in the
- 0:50Speaker 4: Fresh Print Summertime is just a staple for summertime.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Oh, I mean without doubt, but you.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Like that is something that will never go away. That
- 1:03Speaker 4: is something that will all like that is just when
- 1:06Speaker 4: you hear that, you know, it's like and they like
- 1:08Speaker 4: they even talk about it still like that. It is
- 1:10Speaker 4: just a that is just the vibe of summertime and
- 1:14Speaker 4: that is what that track does. This is one of
- 1:17Speaker 4: those also like it. You hear this, it's like, yep,
- 1:21Speaker 4: it's Christmas time. Like for as far as hip hop songs,
- 1:24Speaker 4: as far as but just the mood of what that does.
- 1:26Speaker 4: And so.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I have the tradition on Christmas Eve night, as you know,
- 1:33Speaker 5: we are trying to do all that we have to do,
- 1:37Speaker 5: that I will watch I will put on Diehard Christmas Movie,
- 1:41Speaker 5: Christmas Movie, and the obviously the movie starts with rus
- 1:49Speaker 5: Willis on the plane and and so you have that
- 1:52Speaker 5: that sound of a seven forty seven landing at lax
- 1:54Speaker 5: and that sound. But the next iconic sound you truly
- 1:57Speaker 5: hear is when they're driving in Limo and that track
- 2:02Speaker 5: hits and it just instantly sets you up for what
- 2:07Speaker 5: you're about to see. So anytime I hear that, that's
- 2:09Speaker 5: all I can think about is John McClain heading to
- 2:13Speaker 5: Nakatomi Plaza and we're about to get just two hours
- 2:16Speaker 5: of what is just one of the best movies of
- 2:19Speaker 5: all time.
- 2:20Speaker 4: One of the best Christmas movies of all time. And
- 2:21Speaker 4: I don't yeah fight me. Jason Cornelia Jared Hicks in
- 2:24Speaker 4: for Chip Today, chip IR Sports Talk Sports Radio eleven
- 2:27Speaker 4: fifty AM, The Zone ninety three seven FM, a fan
- 2:30Speaker 4: fantastic week of Aggie athletics. The women's volleyball team shook
- 2:37Speaker 4: up the world, to say the least, in that victory
- 2:41Speaker 4: over Nebraska on Sunday and are playing in the Final
- 2:45Speaker 4: four for volleyball, which is just amazing.
- 2:49Speaker 5: When you read the commentary out there, no one expected Nebraska.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Nebraska was expecting to play Texas next week, and neither
- 2:57Speaker 4: of them made it like they were looking for a
- 2:59Speaker 4: rematch against Texas and all like, and again, that's that's
- 3:03Speaker 4: what happens when you overlook what's in front of you.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Hope A and M doesn't do that as far as
- 3:07Speaker 4: the men are concerned, coming up on Friday, I mean Saturday,
- 3:11Speaker 4: But yeah, no, nobody from Nebraska standpoint like, why would
- 3:18Speaker 4: anybody expect that when they are the powerhouse that they are.
- 3:20Speaker 4: But all that's also why you play the game exactly
- 3:23Speaker 4: and able to do that. A and M, as we
- 3:25Speaker 4: just talked about, are playing in their first ever college
- 3:29Speaker 4: football playoff, and I say first over and people are like, well,
- 3:31Speaker 4: it's only been two years. No, Like, the college football
- 3:33Speaker 4: playoff has been.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Around, been around for a while, and A and M
- 3:37Speaker 5: has sniffed it.
- 3:39Speaker 4: A couple of times, and so that's why we are
- 3:41Speaker 4: able to say that this is the first time and
- 3:43Speaker 4: it's still actually means something in that. But the college
- 3:46Speaker 4: football Playoff in itself is coming up this weekend, and
- 3:50Speaker 4: one thing I am going to talk about real quick,
- 3:53Speaker 4: and you and I we have been on around this
- 3:58Speaker 4: time before because we have talked about the different whether
- 4:02Speaker 4: it's a real bowl game or a fake bowl game, right,
- 4:05Speaker 4: and some of the bowl games that we've done that
- 4:07Speaker 4: for trivia before, which I think is always hilarious and
- 4:10Speaker 4: when everybody else because we don't all the bowl games
- 4:12Speaker 4: are completely insignificant right now. But speaking of that, and
- 4:16Speaker 4: I am going to die on this hill before we
- 4:17Speaker 4: dive into a lot more of the games, so we've
- 4:19Speaker 4: got some time right now. I'm not the only one
- 4:22Speaker 4: that says that bowl games need to move to the
- 4:24Speaker 4: beginning of the following season. No, And I sent you
- 4:27Speaker 4: messages on that because I was like, I am not
- 4:30Speaker 4: the only one that realizes, especially now in this like
- 4:33Speaker 4: with a twelve game college football playoff, like what are
- 4:38Speaker 4: the other and those are true now exhibition games because
- 4:41Speaker 4: you're not playing what are those exhibition games for exactly?
- 4:44Speaker 5: I mean, you get fifteen extra practices, and then I
- 4:49Speaker 5: mean the teams in the world, the conferences used to
- 4:53Speaker 5: get money from the bowl games. Then we're then split
- 4:56Speaker 5: amongst the teams. I'm assuming those payouts have dec increased
- 5:01Speaker 5: because the payouts on the college Playoff have gone up significantly.
- 5:05Speaker 4: And also viewership is going down, which means the TV
- 5:08Speaker 4: like for each.
- 5:09Speaker 5: Bowl who watched the bowl game after the Heisman ceremony
- 5:15Speaker 5: Saturday night?
- 5:15Speaker 4: There's a bowl game after my point exactly.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Featured a conference champion which lost, by the way, but
- 5:24Speaker 5: I mean, why would you.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Program that game? Because they have it? Because they have it,
- 5:30Speaker 4: because they have it, and that has been.
- 5:33Speaker 5: And oh, by the way, listening audience, there's a bowl
- 5:36Speaker 5: game tonight.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Did anybody know it? Does anybody know what's going on?
- 5:39Speaker 4: Does anybody care? And that's where like and I have
- 5:41Speaker 4: you and I have both been saying this far like
- 5:43Speaker 4: because again and especially in today's such as today's college
- 5:47Speaker 4: football as that's what we're talking about now, situation where
- 5:50Speaker 4: you have to worry about nil contracts, where you have
- 5:53Speaker 4: to worry about whether or not there and we're dealing
- 5:55Speaker 4: with this right now, where your coaches are going to
- 5:57Speaker 4: be You're worry about what players are going to opt in,
- 6:00Speaker 4: players are going to opt out. You have to worry
- 6:01Speaker 4: about all of those things. You know what, you don't
- 6:03Speaker 4: have to worry about in August any of those Your
- 6:06Speaker 4: coaches are there, your players are there, there's no transfer portal.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Everything is there, and you have the excitement of playing
- 6:11Speaker 4: that game. And it'd be a boy like have do
- 6:14Speaker 4: it the exact same way. It be a bowl game.
- 6:16Speaker 4: You travel to wherever it is, and you know what,
- 6:18Speaker 4: people will be probably more excited to go to that
- 6:20Speaker 4: game because it's not during the holidays anymore, because people
- 6:23Speaker 4: and you and have watched this for a very long time.
- 6:26Speaker 5: No offense, who wants to go to Montgomery, Alabama tonight, No,
- 6:32Speaker 5: absolutely nobody, nobody, but a game will be played there.
- 6:36Speaker 5: The what is the Crampton Bowl? I mean that that's
- 6:40Speaker 5: what we were reduced to now.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I have had a problem with now even going deeper
- 6:45Speaker 4: into this, with bowls not keeping the bowl name and
- 6:51Speaker 4: only going with the sponsor name, like why couldn't like
- 6:53Speaker 4: and some of the traditional ones at least kept it
- 6:55Speaker 4: the Independence Bowl brought to you by whomever, the Gator
- 6:58Speaker 4: Bowl brought to you by whomever, or the AutoZone Livery Bowl. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 4: you can still get your marketing dollars worth without changing
- 7:05Speaker 4: the bowl to your name to where. Now, this is
- 7:08Speaker 4: another thing that I have a problem with you. We
- 7:10Speaker 4: don't know the history of the bowl anymore. So it
- 7:12Speaker 4: doesn't mean anything as a player, as a coach, and
- 7:15Speaker 4: especially as a fan to go to whatever that destination
- 7:19Speaker 4: is because you don't know the history of what the
- 7:21Speaker 4: bowl is.
- 7:22Speaker 5: I mean to me, the most glaring example of this,
- 7:27Speaker 5: and I don't want to well is the Citrus Bowl
- 7:31Speaker 5: because for a decade it had to be plastered as
- 7:33Speaker 5: the Capital One Bowl, ye, which the Citrus Bowl used
- 7:37Speaker 5: to used to just have a prestigious the cit capital
- 7:41Speaker 5: One wanted to slap their name all over it, which,
- 7:44Speaker 5: by the way, that's another thing. Have some modesty when
- 7:48Speaker 5: when you're painting the field, we don't need your logo
- 7:51Speaker 5: at the fifty yard line and then at the twenty
- 7:54Speaker 5: five yard line, and then along the sidelines and in
- 7:56Speaker 5: the end zone. We know who's sponsoring the game.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's the But that's again going back to
- 8:02Speaker 4: why bowl games have continued and continued to get so
- 8:06Speaker 4: insignificant is because there is like one there's way too
- 8:12Speaker 4: many of them right now, but also to like you
- 8:15Speaker 4: don't know the history. It's all about the sponsorship, and
- 8:17Speaker 4: then like you don't know who's playing, you don't know
- 8:20Speaker 4: the the there's.
- 8:21Speaker 5: The conference, the conference ties, the stuff. So I'm with
- 8:26Speaker 5: I'm with you in the stand in the sense of
- 8:29Speaker 5: have the have some of these first and foremost, eliminate
- 8:34Speaker 5: about half the bowl games. We don't need them the
- 8:37Speaker 5: remaining half. Make those your beginning of the season games.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Reason being, if every if all the big conferences are
- 8:45Speaker 5: going to a nine game conference schedule, you know what
- 8:47Speaker 5: that means when it comes to the non conference scheduling.
- 8:50Speaker 5: You're going to see less premiere FBS versus FBS opponents.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Because you will make the argument, with a nine game
- 8:59Speaker 5: conference schedule, we don't need that that seminal game that
- 9:05Speaker 5: that attracts viewers or gives us, you know, boost our
- 9:07Speaker 5: resume and instead of having to schedule those games out five,
- 9:12Speaker 5: seven and ten years in advance. And if you go
- 9:15Speaker 5: to this structure where you get paired up, you know
- 9:18Speaker 5: who your opponent's going to be at the beginning of
- 9:20Speaker 5: the year, if you have that game on the on
- 9:22Speaker 5: the docket. YEP, the only thing that it hurts in
- 9:26Speaker 5: the context of hurting something is you don't have a
- 9:30Speaker 5: it won't be a home and home situation. So you know,
- 9:32Speaker 5: you get home revenue and the other team gets home revenue, but.
- 9:36Speaker 4: You split it.
- 9:37Speaker 5: I mean, there is a lot of sense of this,
- 9:40Speaker 5: but unfortunately someone's gonna have to have to have the
- 9:44Speaker 5: courage to start having the conversation and start looking at
- 9:47Speaker 5: the feasibility of doing this. And frankly, I don't think
- 9:49Speaker 5: ESPN has the backbone to do it.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Well, if if and I was glad and I know
- 9:54Speaker 4: a lot, notre dame backing out of there, Like as
- 9:56Speaker 4: schools continue to and they will see that there is
- 9:59Speaker 4: no fit for them playing in these insignificant bolts, right,
- 10:03Speaker 4: If more and more schools are going to start doing that,
- 10:06Speaker 4: that's when it's going to be like, well then what
- 10:07Speaker 4: it like? What's going on? And and again you don't
- 10:10Speaker 4: want to take away from some of the either group
- 10:13Speaker 4: of five or some of the smaller schools opportunities to
- 10:16Speaker 4: play those extra games. And so again that's even more
- 10:18Speaker 4: of a reason to move it for like everybody still
- 10:20Speaker 4: gets that opportunity.
- 10:21Speaker 5: But kind of on that subject, we know the we
- 10:24Speaker 5: know the playoff is expanding, because it's because of all
- 10:27Speaker 5: the garbage from this year. We know it is when
- 10:29Speaker 5: they because it's the whole reason the committee postpone the
- 10:33Speaker 5: decision on next year, because it was supposed to be
- 10:35Speaker 5: made in December. They postponed it to Gen sixth a
- 10:38Speaker 5: day purposely because they want to get past these first
- 10:42Speaker 5: two rounds of the playoffs to see what it looks like.
- 10:45Speaker 5: And then they're going to say, Okay, maybe we do
- 10:47Speaker 5: need to go to sixteen or and I think this
- 10:49Speaker 5: is legitimately on the table, they may just go ahead
- 10:52Speaker 5: and say we're going to twenty four because the biggest
- 10:54Speaker 5: problem you're gonna have is you're gonna have the SEC
- 10:57Speaker 5: and the Big ten pushing. They want guarantees, but they
- 11:02Speaker 5: don't want to push out the the G five schools,
- 11:06Speaker 5: And then that's the that's how they're gonna argue we
- 11:09Speaker 5: need to go to twenty four because we need to
- 11:11Speaker 5: provide more room for the G five.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Well, you know what, who else? I already has twenty
- 11:16Speaker 4: four division and.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Every other division, every other division and has been doing it.
- 11:22Speaker 4: For years, and they all play schedules.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Honestly speaking, that's what I would rather be on television
- 11:28Speaker 5: right now than some of.
- 11:29Speaker 4: These worthless bowl games.
- 11:31Speaker 5: Is though, UT put the put the FCS put Division two,
- 11:35Speaker 5: and I know they don't normally get televised, but put
- 11:38Speaker 5: Division three on because there are some wild games going
- 11:42Speaker 5: on right now. And if you're not watched, especially if
- 11:44Speaker 5: you're not watching FCS, the dynasty of the North Dakota
- 11:48Speaker 5: schools is indian Ya. It's Montana now. And to watch
- 11:53Speaker 5: Montana and Montana State get to play again in a
- 11:55Speaker 5: big time game, and it's gonna be like negative god
- 11:59Speaker 5: off full temperature. That's gonna be entertaining as heck to
- 12:03Speaker 5: watch this week In fact, I care. I'm I want
- 12:06Speaker 5: to watch that a heck of a lot more than
- 12:07Speaker 5: I want to watch Philly and Washington play.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Question along these same lines, would you think it would
- 12:13Speaker 4: be better to have a sixteen team power whatever it
- 12:18Speaker 4: is conference playoff and also have say the group of
- 12:22Speaker 4: five do have their own eight or again go go to.
- 12:28Speaker 5: I think you have. Okay. The problem is, and this
- 12:33Speaker 5: is what we're gonna see this weekend, that there is
- 12:39Speaker 5: a disparity in the talent and especially in the revenue
- 12:43Speaker 5: that you see between the power for schools and the
- 12:48Speaker 5: G five, Yes, but it is a one game sample
- 12:53Speaker 5: and we've seen it. You've seen Boise State upset, upset Oklahoma,
- 12:57Speaker 5: You've seen where this but that it's to the rule,
- 13:04Speaker 5: and I guess that's the only thing. And then of
- 13:08Speaker 5: course that's what we love about the n cua A
- 13:10Speaker 5: Men's Tournament, is uh, the first two rounds, that's where
- 13:13Speaker 5: you're going to see the upsets because after that typically
- 13:16Speaker 5: shocked starts winning out. I I hate to exclude the
- 13:23Speaker 5: G five, but I think the the longer this goes,
- 13:28Speaker 5: and especially the money disparity, it's just going to become
- 13:32Speaker 5: a I mean, we talk about how college football is
- 13:34Speaker 5: the minor league for the NFL. The G five is
- 13:36Speaker 5: going to become the minor league for the power forwards.
- 13:39Speaker 4: And it's in today's n I L and transfer portal.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Of course, that's what it's already. It's already that you're
- 13:46Speaker 4: pulling kids from those G five school you have one
- 13:49Speaker 4: year to G five.
- 13:50Speaker 5: You're this year's Heisman winder winner, was not recruited, got pulled,
- 13:58Speaker 5: got pulled from a lower G five school and ends
- 14:03Speaker 5: up being the starting quarterback on the number one team
- 14:07Speaker 5: in the country and wins the Heisman, despite the fact
- 14:10Speaker 5: coming into this year, who was everyone saying was gonna
- 14:13Speaker 5: was the year favorite to win the Heisman? The guy
- 14:16Speaker 5: with the last name, who's playing at the big time
- 14:18Speaker 5: university in the middle of Texas.
- 14:20Speaker 4: And nowhere to be found on that although he is
- 14:23Speaker 4: coming back next year. Yeah, surprisingly, it was not your
- 14:27Speaker 4: time to go that forward. So looking ahead to this
- 14:31Speaker 4: Friday and Saturday and the games that are actually being
- 14:34Speaker 4: played this Friday and Saturday, what are your thoughts on
- 14:37Speaker 4: We talked about the TV schedule of it, but what
- 14:40Speaker 4: are your thoughts of the actual on the field side
- 14:42Speaker 4: of it.
- 14:43Speaker 5: So you probably have you have two games with where
- 14:50Speaker 5: both teams are fairly evenly matched. The Friday night game
- 14:55Speaker 5: could literally go either way. But honestly speak, I don't
- 15:00Speaker 5: think either of those teams win beyond Friday Night because
- 15:05Speaker 5: Alabama cannot run the ball consistently and they can't stop
- 15:09Speaker 5: the run consistently, and frankly, if Jim Miller is not healthy,
- 15:14Speaker 5: then I don't think they have much of a chance
- 15:16Speaker 5: against the Oklahoma defense.
- 15:18Speaker 4: I don't think Alabama should be playing I don't know, well, okay,
- 15:21Speaker 4: and I'm not trying to go back to that but
- 15:22Speaker 4: like they haven't been playing well for the last we
- 15:25Speaker 4: have three losses. I get it.
- 15:28Speaker 5: You beat Georgia in Athens, yes, earlier this year, you
- 15:33Speaker 5: didn't even show up in Atlanta. No, and that was
- 15:36Speaker 5: just you got that run out of the building. And
- 15:38Speaker 5: by the way, you weren't even able to run in
- 15:40Speaker 5: a positive direction. You bran negative no three loss at
- 15:44Speaker 5: this point in time, No three loss teams should be
- 15:46Speaker 5: in this iteration of the playoffs. And think about when
- 15:50Speaker 5: we go to sixteen, and especially if we go to
- 15:51Speaker 5: twenty four, we're gonna be arguing about four loss teams.
- 15:54Speaker 4: And that's the thing. But if you watched Alabama and
- 15:57Speaker 4: they didn't want to penalize them for being in the
- 15:59Speaker 4: sec chamions, okay, that's fine. But again, yeah, you penalized
- 16:03Speaker 4: everybody else, including Ohio State because they lost. Because if
- 16:06Speaker 4: you didn't want to penalize anybody, then everybody should have stayed.
- 16:09Speaker 5: At the very least Alabama should have dropped a spot.
- 16:12Speaker 5: The fact they didn't drop them at all, and I mean,
- 16:16Speaker 5: I wish we had so much more time to talk
- 16:18Speaker 5: about it was comically insane and just the woiotic this
- 16:24Speaker 5: playoff committee has been week after week making their arguments,
- 16:28Speaker 5: especially with the Iron Bowl, that Alabama showed fortitude beating
- 16:32Speaker 5: a five and seven team and going forward on four
- 16:34Speaker 5: town they shouldn't have had to do that. They should
- 16:35Speaker 5: have ran. But anyway, back to what I was saying,
- 16:40Speaker 5: the problem with Oklahoma is that offense ain't that good. Nope,
- 16:46Speaker 5: They've only scored. They have not scored more than three
- 16:48Speaker 5: touchdowns against any FBS team this year. That defense, on
- 16:52Speaker 5: the other hand, is crazy good. But I don't know
- 16:56Speaker 5: after this week can that defense do enough to make
- 17:00Speaker 5: up for the fact that the offense is not going
- 17:01Speaker 5: to be able to score, especially against Indiana in the
- 17:04Speaker 5: Rose Bowl.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Yeah, and I don't see that. And so I don't
- 17:07Speaker 4: even want I don't even want to talk about us.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Let's let's let's just talk about it in the context
- 17:12Speaker 5: of you are going to see Saturday morning, two of
- 17:19Speaker 5: the best teams absent of the Texas game, that are
- 17:24Speaker 5: playing their best football this year. Because Miami after the
- 17:30Speaker 5: after the loss to Louisville definitely started riding the ship,
- 17:36Speaker 5: mostly because they had to.
- 17:38Speaker 4: They had to start running up score.
- 17:40Speaker 5: But that defense, I mean, we can tell cash Is
- 17:44Speaker 5: Hall is a phenomenal player. For me, and m Miami's
- 17:47Speaker 5: got two of those guys, Ruben Bain Haquem uh Mesdor.
- 17:53Speaker 5: If our O line doesn't step up on Saturday, those
- 17:55Speaker 5: two guys are going to make it very difficult for
- 17:59Speaker 5: for Marcel all day long.
- 18:01Speaker 4: And that's what worries me is because if Marcel can't
- 18:06Speaker 4: look out and quickly see Case or Craver and I
- 18:13Speaker 4: love marceall and.
- 18:14Speaker 5: And okay, and we also have to talk about this
- 18:16Speaker 5: and this is this, I mean, this is gonna become
- 18:19Speaker 5: a bigger effect, not necessarily for Oregon this week, but
- 18:21Speaker 5: definitely when they have to play their second playoff game,
- 18:24Speaker 5: because they're gonna win this weekend without question. The court
- 18:28Speaker 5: not having your coordinators here, so not having calling client
- 18:33Speaker 5: on offense, which by the way, yeah, I've been there's
- 18:36Speaker 5: been times I've complained about his play calling, but at
- 18:38Speaker 5: the same time, you kind of like to have that
- 18:40Speaker 5: consistency when you look at Oregon. Oregon is gonna Dan
- 18:45Speaker 5: Lang has got to do everything in himself because he's
- 18:47Speaker 5: got no he doesn't have his OC or his DC
- 18:49Speaker 5: that he uh he went through this year with that.
- 18:53Speaker 5: I mean, that's gonna be interesting how that comes into play.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Do does does A and M run a more balanced
- 18:59Speaker 5: offense where we're trying to do some of the tricky
- 19:02Speaker 5: stuff that Paulin like to throw in there at odd times.
- 19:05Speaker 5: I don't know. We'll have to see, but but frankly speaking,
- 19:11Speaker 5: I prefer this matchup because I actually feel good assuming
- 19:19Speaker 5: we win, going up against Ohio State round two versus
- 19:24Speaker 5: having to go play Georgia in Atlanta, oh I.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Would nobody wants that. Nobody wants that. Nobody wants a
- 19:30Speaker 4: piece of that, did you like? And that's the thing like,
- 19:33Speaker 4: And I think maybe the committee was like, oh, like
- 19:37Speaker 4: Alabama because George is that good? Because no, George is
- 19:40Speaker 4: just playing that good right now.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Georgia is just mean like that. I don't They're not
- 19:46Speaker 5: out there to play for this football. They're out there
- 19:47Speaker 5: to hurt.
- 19:48Speaker 4: No, they are out there to go up there. We
- 19:50Speaker 4: want We're going to run on you, We're going to
- 19:52Speaker 4: destroy your defense. And then every now and then we're
- 19:56Speaker 4: yeah because even like the majority, like, they don't throw
- 19:59Speaker 4: deep passes, they throw cross underneath crossing routes and expect
- 20:02Speaker 4: their guys to run over somebody even after they pay
- 20:05Speaker 4: make a touch.
- 20:05Speaker 5: So Georgia fans have been been crying for Mike Bobo,
- 20:09Speaker 5: the offensive coordinator, to be fired for years because the
- 20:11Speaker 5: Georgia offense has just looked just so uneven year after
- 20:15Speaker 5: year after year, despite the fact that even in the
- 20:18Speaker 5: years they win, He's basically solidified keeping his job because
- 20:22Speaker 5: Georgia's offense this year has been consistent and that's all
- 20:26Speaker 5: they have to be And and frankly, that's why again,
- 20:32Speaker 5: assuming we play Ohio State, assuming you get the win,
- 20:35Speaker 5: then you gotta go play Georgia.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, and here's the thing for me, even going
- 20:39Speaker 4: back to that, Like you you think that if they
- 20:43Speaker 4: wanted to get rid of Mike, but like they are
- 20:46Speaker 4: all whether it is by choice or not, coming from
- 20:50Speaker 4: the Saban coaching tree, and until sark And or Freshwater's
- 20:55Speaker 4: got there, that is all Saban wanted. We are just
- 20:57Speaker 4: gonna We're gonna play a whole lot of defense and
- 20:59Speaker 4: we're gonna run over you and still win the football game.
- 21:02Speaker 4: That is why some of those LSU Alabama games were
- 21:05Speaker 4: six to three, because that is all they want is
- 21:08Speaker 4: So that's what they have in Georgia right now, except
- 21:10Speaker 4: they just have a little bit faster talent is with
- 21:13Speaker 4: their running backs to be able to, and you've got
- 21:15Speaker 4: to you've got a more consistent quarterback. But yes he is.
- 21:19Speaker 5: So this is my other thing that I wish the
- 21:22Speaker 5: College Football Playoff would adopt, especially if they're going to
- 21:25Speaker 5: expand next year, reced after every week, because I do
- 21:30Speaker 5: not I do not care for the fact that you
- 21:33Speaker 5: seed initially and then you do not recede moving forward,
- 21:38Speaker 5: and it creates, in my view, some disparaging matchups when
- 21:43Speaker 5: you hit round two, whereas in any other system it
- 21:46Speaker 5: would make more sense to recede.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I can see that. But also, going back to what
- 21:50Speaker 4: you were saying earlier, one of the deals that you
- 21:53Speaker 4: and I have chosen to die on is that they
- 21:57Speaker 4: don't need to be preseason polls. Nope, I know, and
- 22:01Speaker 4: I know as you talked about, even though the games
- 22:03Speaker 4: on the field are a TV show, but having and
- 22:06Speaker 4: they painted themselves into the worst corner ever, but having
- 22:09Speaker 4: a weekly ranking show is the dumbest thing ever. It
- 22:13Speaker 4: is because they just keep painting themselves every year. It's
- 22:16Speaker 4: not just this year.
- 22:17Speaker 5: They don't just paint themselves into the corner. All they
- 22:20Speaker 5: do is paint. They create the narrative to fit what
- 22:23Speaker 5: they want and so that's why you have Notre Dame
- 22:27Speaker 5: ranked above Miami week after week despite the fact schedule
- 22:31Speaker 5: why or schedule wise is the same and opponent wise,
- 22:35Speaker 5: there's some pretty even matchups, and it's just gonna be
- 22:40Speaker 5: worse next year, especially if this memorandum of understanding effect
- 22:45Speaker 5: with Notre Dame, because all they have. All Notre Dame
- 22:48Speaker 5: has to do now is basically start the year ranked
- 22:52Speaker 5: twentieth or higher and they will finish the year in
- 22:56Speaker 5: the top twelve because they're not Look who they're gonna
- 23:00Speaker 5: a They're going to be scheduled against ACC teams again,
- 23:04Speaker 5: which we got the news today that the ACC is
- 23:06Speaker 5: a quasi expanding to a nine game schedule next year
- 23:10Speaker 5: and then fully expanding in twenty twenty seven, which again
- 23:12Speaker 5: the ACC.
- 23:14Speaker 4: You get you all stuff together. I mean, I don't
- 23:18Speaker 4: how does your tiebreaker not include a the BCS ranking.
- 23:21Speaker 4: It's how do I mean CFP at rankings? I don't
- 23:25Speaker 4: know how that If you want to have representation, then
- 23:29Speaker 4: how does your number one tiebreaker not go into who's
- 23:32Speaker 4: ranked higher.
- 23:33Speaker 5: This is why, again going into the context of if
- 23:36Speaker 5: you're going to modify the college football Playoff, this is
- 23:38Speaker 5: one thing you need to do. You need to make
- 23:40Speaker 5: the tiebreaker system or the championship and the tiebreaker system
- 23:44Speaker 5: uniform across all conferences. It doesn't need to be this
- 23:48Speaker 5: conference as this this conference is that it needs to
- 23:51Speaker 5: be equal.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Footing across the board.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Well, because otherwise you're gonna get this this garbage that
- 23:57Speaker 5: you got this year time and time again.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Yeah, as again as with expansion and offsetting schedules and
- 24:04Speaker 4: all this other stuff. That's all, yeah, you you got
- 24:06Speaker 4: to be able to do that. But as you and
- 24:08Speaker 4: I both know and you get, you got to witness
- 24:11Speaker 4: as long as each conference's commissioner is going to like
- 24:17Speaker 4: there they only have to look out for themselves. And
- 24:18Speaker 4: that's what I talk about with with whether it's the
- 24:20Speaker 4: teams only having to look out for themselves and or
- 24:23Speaker 4: the now conferences only having to look out for themselves,
- 24:27Speaker 4: why are they going to try to get anything uniform
- 24:29Speaker 4: that doesn't benefit them? Wait, and so there has to
- 24:32Speaker 4: be what you would think used to be the NC
- 24:34Speaker 4: double A. There has to be something that has the
- 24:37Speaker 4: the state of college football in its best thought, like,
- 24:43Speaker 4: in its best interest, because again, the conferences don't care
- 24:45Speaker 4: about anybody else but their own conference, and even within
- 24:48Speaker 4: as we know, even within the school, even within those conferences,
- 24:51Speaker 4: the schools only care about themselves. Why are they going
- 24:54Speaker 4: to care about anything else. The only time they care
- 24:55Speaker 4: about each other is when again it's against another conference.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Well, and to make my is even more complicated or worse,
- 25:03Speaker 5: you're not going to see this uniformity because the conferences
- 25:06Speaker 5: have differing TV dealer deal TV deals deals. So yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 5: ESPN's incentive is to put the most compelling product on television.
- 25:18Speaker 5: But if they want the Big Ten to play ball,
- 25:21Speaker 5: there's no benefit for the Big Ten their deals with
- 25:24Speaker 5: fox YEP for Notre Dame, there's no incentive to abide
- 25:28Speaker 5: by either of the the arrangements that the Big Ten,
- 25:32Speaker 5: the ACC, the Big twelve, or any other conference house
- 25:35Speaker 5: because they have their own deal with NBBC and so
- 25:39Speaker 5: until and I am not, by the way, not in
- 25:42Speaker 5: favor of following the Texas Tech Alums proposal for creating
- 25:48Speaker 5: a unified or creating uh the non compete clause for
- 25:52Speaker 5: college football to create a uniform collevision or television contract.
- 25:57Speaker 5: I don't subscribe to that, but you gott it. You
- 26:01Speaker 5: have to do something to create a put it in concrete.
- 26:09Speaker 5: These are the things we we or you have yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 5: when we pick yeah, and maybe pick the you know,
- 26:17Speaker 5: do the top twenty five or whatever. And then you
- 26:19Speaker 5: don't meet those criteria, don't do it weekly. Yeah, do
- 26:22Speaker 5: it at the beginning of November, and then you do
- 26:24Speaker 5: it at the beginning of December.
- 26:25Speaker 4: But if you don't meet these criteria, including whether it's
- 26:27Speaker 4: a nine game schedule, like, if you don't meet these criteria,
- 26:30Speaker 4: then that's what it is. But again, as long as
- 26:32Speaker 4: and I heard someone say this the other day and
- 26:34Speaker 4: I agree, as long as you have athletic directors and
- 26:37Speaker 4: or school presidents in those rooms. Currently nothing yeah, currently serving.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Nothing is going on to change. Oh, yeah, you're right.
- 26:44Speaker 4: I don't mind if it's a former athletic director. I
- 26:46Speaker 4: don't mind if it's former coaches.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Like more to the point, when you got athletic directors
- 26:50Speaker 5: who don't know ball, who can't hire worth it. I mean,
- 26:54Speaker 5: how many Arkansas athletic directors have been been on this
- 26:57Speaker 5: committee since it's been formed and look at the train
- 26:59Speaker 5: wreck it's been going on there. You cannot tell me.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Jeff Long, the current athletic director of Arkansas, has a
- 27:05Speaker 5: clue about what to do with football.
- 27:07Speaker 4: And that is so yeah, as long as you continue
- 27:09Speaker 4: doing that. But I also think it's funny you talk
- 27:11Speaker 4: about Notre Dame one last minute, Like I laugh when
- 27:14Speaker 4: people like Notre Dame has to join a conferent, like
- 27:15Speaker 4: who's going to make them? Yeah, and why would they
- 27:19Speaker 4: want to win again? And everybody's making so much money
- 27:22Speaker 4: from television dollars now and Notre Dame like they made
- 27:25Speaker 4: it was twenty million dollars prize for them last year
- 27:29Speaker 4: and they didn't have to share that with eighty one.
- 27:33Speaker 4: So what purpose does it for them to Because again,
- 27:37Speaker 4: at the end of the day, the ACC is going
- 27:38Speaker 4: to like say that they're mad at Notre Dame, They're
- 27:40Speaker 4: still gonna want to play them because they know they
- 27:42Speaker 4: get money from that. And again, that's what happens when
- 27:45Speaker 4: you nobody is looking out for college football. Each and
- 27:48Speaker 4: every school is on looking out for themselves. We are
- 27:50Speaker 4: going to take a break and I'm going to calm
- 27:52Speaker 4: down because I got all riled up talking about college football.

- 32:40Speaker 4: Alone and so Because i'm looking out the window And i'm, like,
- 32:42Speaker 4: oh it's we're just now at the five thirty hours
- 32:45Speaker 4: and it is it's. Blackoutside Oh, god like this IS
- 32:49Speaker 4: i am just not a fan of this this time
- 32:52Speaker 4: of the year at.
- 32:53Speaker 5: All the ONLY i, know, YEAH i. KNOW i will
- 32:57Speaker 5: agree to that. POINT i will agree to that. Point
- 32:59Speaker 5: other than the fact because of the time and the
- 33:01Speaker 5: effort it took to put Up christmas, LIGHTS i do
- 33:03Speaker 5: appreciate the fact that they get good six hours of.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Use But i'm with you as soon as as soon
- 33:13Speaker 5: as we change the clocks at the beginning Of november Net,
- 33:16Speaker 5: now they were, like, man when you go from four
- 33:20Speaker 5: to fifty nine to five, o'clock it's like the light.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Switch, yeah it, IS i get and that is the.
- 33:25Speaker 4: Worst and so, yeah we were diving deep into college
- 33:29Speaker 4: football and that is obviously a huge.
- 33:31Speaker 5: Thing by the, way listening, audience notice how we did
- 33:34Speaker 5: not make any. Picks there's a reason for. That absolutely
- 33:38Speaker 5: are Not we're not going To we're not going to
- 33:41Speaker 5: use the. Jay we're not gonna do anything TO j
- 33:43Speaker 5: word it's gonna. Happen, no they're just giving you a
- 33:46Speaker 5: little bit of, insight.
- 33:47Speaker 4: A little bit of insight of. Again but here's the other,
- 33:50Speaker 4: thing and we and you AND i also talk, about
- 33:54Speaker 4: as we've done a little bit here even, today the
- 33:57Speaker 4: money and the finance of but also the money and
- 34:03Speaker 4: the finance of what is going to be happening this
- 34:05Speaker 4: week here locally and what that. Means and, AGAIN i
- 34:09Speaker 4: Mean i've seen people like it just on The miami
- 34:14Speaker 4: fans are wanting to come to this game too because
- 34:17Speaker 4: they like this is big for, them AND.
- 34:19Speaker 5: I Mean, Miami LIKE i, said if you're looking at
- 34:23Speaker 5: teams six through, TWELVE a AND m In miami arguably
- 34:28Speaker 5: have your best chance to win this whole. Thing, yes
- 34:32Speaker 5: not saying they, Will i'm saying they have the best chance.
- 34:34Speaker 5: To For miami, fans this is kind of making good
- 34:38Speaker 5: on what should have what they should have achieved last.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Year but they they they screwed it up at the
- 34:43Speaker 5: end and they know. That right by the, way bless.
- 34:45Speaker 4: You, yes.
- 34:47Speaker 5: When you talk about the money, aspect and that that
- 34:52Speaker 5: makes me want to go down a road That i've
- 34:54Speaker 5: been thinking. About because we talk about the way the
- 34:56Speaker 5: television dollars have mutated this sport into something, else there's
- 35:00Speaker 5: another aspect on the money front that has mutated this
- 35:04Speaker 5: sport and his name Is Jimmy. Sexton and if if
- 35:10Speaker 5: you follow college, football you should know that and name by.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Now and if you, don't you need to look it.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Up also look up these LETTERS. Cia there's a reason for.
- 35:20Speaker 5: That Jimmy sexton works FOR. Cia Jimmy sexton currently REPRESENTS
- 35:24Speaker 5: i believe thirteen of the sixteen coaches in THE sec
- 35:31Speaker 5: notice by the, way and he Represents Lane. Kiffen notice
- 35:36Speaker 5: how The Lane kiffen decision once that became finalized that
- 35:40Speaker 5: he was going TO. Lsu how all the OTHER sec
- 35:44Speaker 5: positions filled almost within an. Hour it's because they're all
- 35:50Speaker 5: represented By Jimmy sexton OR, cia and all of those
- 35:54Speaker 5: had been in. Discussion Jimmy sexton basically became famous because
- 36:00Speaker 5: because he Was Nick saban's. Agent, yes so obviously The
- 36:04Speaker 5: saban coaching tree has all kind.
- 36:05Speaker 4: Of fallen all over right up under.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Him he was Also Jimbo fisher's. Agent he engineered the
- 36:14Speaker 5: seventy five million get fully guaranteed contract and everything that
- 36:18Speaker 5: has spun out from. That if you want, To that's
- 36:21Speaker 5: WHY i, say look at when you look at the
- 36:24Speaker 5: money and look at how it's. Escalating it's in these
- 36:28Speaker 5: coaching contracts and these buyouts and these massive deals because
- 36:32Speaker 5: by the, way unless you're a private, university these are
- 36:35Speaker 5: all state. Employees Lane kiffin is now the highest paid
- 36:38Speaker 5: state employee in the state Of. Louisiana and, oh by the,
- 36:41Speaker 5: way if you were hoping that your road In louisiana
- 36:43Speaker 5: was going to get repaired this, year it ain't gonna.
- 36:45Speaker 5: Happen probably ain't gonna happen next year or the year
- 36:47Speaker 5: after that because of all the money they're having to
- 36:49Speaker 5: pay in buy out and To lane and to his coaching.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Staff and this the roster because it's just a it's
- 36:59Speaker 5: just a super rich. Contract but that's escalating the cost
- 37:03Speaker 5: of this and that's what that's also part of the.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Issue BECAUSE.
- 37:08Speaker 5: I don't want to delve into all the aspects Of Sharon,
- 37:10Speaker 5: moore but now you have a premier coaching position open
- 37:14Speaker 5: at The university Of, michigan they can attract just about
- 37:19Speaker 5: any name they want to because they have they Don't
- 37:22Speaker 5: they already had deep, pockets but now they Got ellison.
- 37:24Speaker 5: Money and by the, Way i'm talking The Oracle. Ellison
- 37:29Speaker 5: they've got billions that they can put towards. Stuff, yes
- 37:32Speaker 5: that's why you're Hearing kellen De boor's name be mentioned
- 37:35Speaker 5: and even though he comes out came out and, Said
- 37:38Speaker 5: i'm not having any, Conversations, No, Dug you're not having
- 37:41Speaker 5: at the conversations your, Agent Jimmy suxton is having those.
- 37:45Speaker 5: Conversations think about If alabama Loses friday, night you could
- 37:53Speaker 5: potentially because de, bores he's still Not he's just Not.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Alabama if you, WILL i.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Don't think And i'm not trying to cut you over
- 38:03Speaker 4: this BECAUSE i THINK i know where you're going on,
- 38:04Speaker 4: this BECAUSE i don't think The Lane kiffin issue was
- 38:08Speaker 4: on him trying to decide on whether or not he
- 38:10Speaker 4: wanted to go To florida or whether or not he
- 38:11Speaker 4: wanted to go to l S. U i think The
- 38:13Speaker 4: Lane kiffin stall was because he was waiting to see
- 38:18Speaker 4: If dubourg In alabama was going to lose That auburn,
- 38:21Speaker 4: game and if he lost That auburn, game he was
- 38:24Speaker 4: going to be out on his rear, end and that
- 38:28Speaker 4: is What lane was waiting.
- 38:29Speaker 5: On, Yes, NO i fully, agree AND i feel horrible
- 38:33Speaker 5: For Marty smith that to have to be standing old
- 38:37Speaker 5: ness facility All saturday night waiting For lane to make
- 38:40Speaker 5: a decision for not to happen and then having a
- 38:42Speaker 5: fall in to the airport On sunday.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Morning but, no apparently he was walking over like if
- 38:46Speaker 4: they had everything roped up and blocked off And martin
- 38:48Speaker 4: had to go like walking over a hill around a corner.
- 38:51Speaker 5: To get to the fire trucks and to day trooper
- 38:54Speaker 5: to get to where he. Was, yeah, Sorry, michigan but
- 39:00Speaker 5: if that comes to, PASS i have to do we
- 39:05Speaker 5: know for sure That lane actually has signed his.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Contract probably not based on because AGAIN i think if
- 39:13Speaker 4: the board goes To michigan and you're, right he came,
- 39:15Speaker 4: Out i'm not talking to. Me if that, Happens lane
- 39:18Speaker 4: is on the First, yes HE i would imagine he
- 39:21Speaker 4: hasn't unpacked a single, thing which is also probably why
- 39:24Speaker 4: he was okay with his, coach his assistant going back
- 39:27Speaker 4: To Ole miss because he doesn't have the ties TO
- 39:30Speaker 4: lsu yet to where. That but, no If alabama comes
- 39:34Speaker 4: open and they want, him which they, will he is
- 39:37Speaker 4: on the first.
- 39:39Speaker 5: Because correct me If i'm. WRONG i believe THE lsu
- 39:42Speaker 5: contract the buyouts only seven million in year, one like
- 39:45Speaker 5: they know they've hired a. Mercenary yes that if THE
- 39:49Speaker 5: nfl comes, calling he's he's. Going If alabama comes, open
- 39:53Speaker 5: he's most likely. Going there might be some language in
- 39:57Speaker 5: that contract that if he goes To alabama there's no
- 40:00Speaker 5: buy out or something like. That in fact THAT i
- 40:01Speaker 5: would give The Louisiana State University system credit if they,
- 40:06Speaker 5: there because they. Should but, YEAH i firmly believe if
- 40:11Speaker 5: debor Leaves, alabama you're going to see the biggest.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Gone. YEAH i have zero Doubt nore because again that's
- 40:19Speaker 4: WHY i brought UP i don't think he was trying
- 40:22Speaker 4: to decide Between florida AND. Lsu he was waiting on
- 40:25Speaker 4: The Iron bowl to see what that outcome was going to.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Be exactly there Was zeke Because florida was not going
- 40:32Speaker 4: to be his. Choice LIKE, i that was never the,
- 40:34Speaker 4: case AND i think it was Between alabama AND.
- 40:36Speaker 5: Lsu i'll push back, there how are we doing on
- 40:40Speaker 5: time on this? SEGMENT a couple of?
- 40:41Speaker 4: Minutes?
- 40:41Speaker 5: OKAY i will push back on. That from one, standpoint
- 40:44Speaker 5: he likes he likes the state Of. FLORIDA i don't
- 40:47Speaker 5: know if he likes The university Of florida per, se
- 40:49Speaker 5: but he Likes. Florida it's a better job Than Old.
- 40:52Speaker 5: MISS i still CONTEND lsu didn't have to Fire Brian
- 40:57Speaker 5: kelly this year if they didn't want, to if they
- 40:59Speaker 5: wanted to wait in other, year get that buyout down
- 41:01Speaker 5: another ten million. Dollars because LSU's brand is so far
- 41:06Speaker 5: in a way. BETTER i, MEAN i would say it's
- 41:09Speaker 5: comparable To Notre dame in the context of when you
- 41:12Speaker 5: think about who's won how many national championships since twenty
- 41:16Speaker 5: or since the year two, thousand or basically in this,
- 41:18Speaker 5: CENTURY lsu has, Three Notre dame has. Zero Notre dame's
- 41:22Speaker 5: CACHE a is completely from the twentieth. CENTURY lsu has
- 41:26Speaker 5: no in state competition from the state Of texas.
- 41:31Speaker 4: That the fertile recruiting, ground.
- 41:35Speaker 5: So they could have held out if they wanted. To
- 41:37Speaker 5: the problem Is Brian kelly pushed it and got the,
- 41:40Speaker 5: acts so then they have to get into The Lane
- 41:43Speaker 5: kiffen carousel and basically roll out all the money to get,
- 41:48Speaker 5: him and it's it's gonna pay off for him as
- 41:51Speaker 5: long As lane is THAT lsu the. WIN i don't
- 41:54Speaker 5: know if they'll win it, all but they'll. Win but
- 41:57Speaker 5: as soon as a better job comes, along he will be.
- 42:01Speaker 4: Gone and the better job for, HIM i think is
- 42:03Speaker 4: Still alabama AND i think that's what he's waiting, on
- 42:05Speaker 4: and we will. See, YEAH i. DON'T i can absolutely
- 42:09Speaker 4: see If alabama Loses, friday De bor being on the
- 42:12Speaker 4: next plane To. MICHIGAN i can absolutely see.
- 42:16Speaker 5: That the other interesting, thing AND i know we got
- 42:17Speaker 5: to get out of, here the fact That Marcus freeman's
- 42:20Speaker 5: being named or being talked about IN nfl. Circles don't
- 42:23Speaker 5: discount that because once THE nfl regular season, ends you
- 42:28Speaker 5: could definitely see him possibly. Leaving and now you Have
- 42:32Speaker 5: Notre dame as a as an open, sport not Necessarily
- 42:35Speaker 5: i'm not saying, for but another big time job.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Opening we are here at the almost endpoint of the,
- 42:42Speaker 4: show and we'll come back and talk ABOUT i guess
- 42:45Speaker 4: we'll talk a little entertainment and see what we've been
- 42:46Speaker 4: watching ON. Tv we'll be back in just a. Second

- 43:05Speaker 13: carpet let her, picket we install, it and she loves.

- 43:22Speaker 11: Today last, Night Dallas cowboys felt to The Minnesota vikings
- 43:28Speaker 11: thirty four to twenty, six practically eliminating them from playoff.
- 43:31Speaker 11: Contention dallas started the game high with an interception on
- 43:34Speaker 11: The vikings first possession shot gun on McCarthy back and
- 43:38Speaker 11: looking to his, right the passions blocked at the line of.
- 43:40Speaker 4: Scrimmage was that picked off on the?
- 43:42Speaker 11: Deflection that sure? Was and The cowboys have a takeaway and.

- 47:20Speaker 5: One that was that. One when that.
- 47:22Speaker 4: Came, ACROSS i was, Like, OH i like, this this
- 47:24Speaker 4: is this is a good. Fit and now it is.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Outside oh it is pitch black. Outside, yeah all, right
- 47:32Speaker 4: what have you been watching? Lately i'm trying to think,
- 47:35Speaker 4: of like what has really LIKE I i finished AND
- 47:39Speaker 4: i know this was was a while. AGO i finished
- 47:40Speaker 4: the new season Of The, diplomat WHICH i. Loved what
- 47:45Speaker 4: HAVE i just? Recently there Has and that's been the
- 47:48Speaker 4: funny thing for, Me like there hasn't been anything that
- 47:50Speaker 4: has just grabbed. ME i, agree Because i've started a
- 47:53Speaker 4: couple of things and it just hasn't held my.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Attention SO i FINALLY i purposely waited a few weeks
- 48:01Speaker 5: to get started on season two Of Land man that
- 48:04Speaker 5: and so THAT i got through all five of the first. Episode,
- 48:09Speaker 5: Yeah i've gotten through. THREE i got a couple with.
- 48:12Speaker 5: That but, NO i and not To i'm not going
- 48:15Speaker 5: to spoil, anything but the the episode where they went
- 48:20Speaker 5: up to The, bill like How Billy bob portrayed that
- 48:24Speaker 5: Scene Billbob. Thornton i'm talking, about LIKE i when when
- 48:28Speaker 5: he's talking about his, mom, yes and that like that
- 48:30Speaker 5: scene in the. Restaurant Like i'm, like, like but that entire,
- 48:34Speaker 5: Episode i've felt LIKE i, DON'T i don't AND i.
- 48:39Speaker 5: Don't i'm not even trying to fawn over over an.
- 48:41Speaker 4: Actor NOW i don't normally fawn over, actor but, like
- 48:44Speaker 4: that whole episode to me from him was just.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Unreal so WHAT i find super interesting and relatable coming
- 48:54Speaker 5: From West texas and knowing for a, fact by the,
- 48:59Speaker 5: way none of seasons to is actually filmed In West.
- 49:01Speaker 5: Texas it's all sitmed up By weatherford And jacksonborough and
- 49:06Speaker 5: the fact That Billy bob is actually From. Arkansas but
- 49:11Speaker 5: AND i think we had this conversation when we were
- 49:12Speaker 5: talking about Lam man season. One he reminds me so
- 49:16Speaker 5: much of my, granddad the way he, dresses the way he,
- 49:20Speaker 5: talks the way his mannerisms.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Is dove into THIS i.
- 49:24Speaker 5: FIRMLY i Mean i've tried to watch and listen to
- 49:27Speaker 5: every interview he, does and of course he's very protective
- 49:32Speaker 5: of his, art and sometimes those interviews kind of go
- 49:36Speaker 5: sideways because he takes he kind of takes things the wrong,
- 49:39Speaker 5: way and sometimes it's just hard to take him seriously
- 49:43Speaker 5: when he's Wearing.
- 49:45Speaker 4: That's HOW i forget who he is when like when
- 49:48Speaker 4: When i'm watching him in this.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Role but HE i, mean he nails the attitude and
- 49:57Speaker 5: the mannerisms and the persona of someone who grew up
- 50:00Speaker 5: in that part of the, state and especially in that
- 50:03Speaker 5: aspect of the. Industry because my granddad was From Big.
- 50:08Speaker 5: Spring he served In World War two and then he
- 50:11Speaker 5: went to work in the oil fields and he did
- 50:14Speaker 5: that until he retired from what ultimately Became halliburton in
- 50:17Speaker 5: the late. Seventies and he never. Cussed so that's a huge.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Difference and my granny did not look Like Ali, larder but,
- 50:32Speaker 5: no and especially to Have Sam elliott on the. Issue
- 50:36Speaker 5: And i'll say, this the big REASON i was so
- 50:40Speaker 5: looking forward to season two IS i have Loved Andy
- 50:43Speaker 5: garcia Since The. Untouchables he is just such a Dynamic
- 50:50Speaker 5: cuban actor and he brings he doesn't even when he
- 50:54Speaker 5: was the bad guy In ocean's, eleven you still didn't, hate,
- 50:59Speaker 5: no you you just saw how vicious a sinister a
- 51:05Speaker 5: guy can be without being physical and and and you
- 51:09Speaker 5: just get this sense there's this ominous persona behind him
- 51:15Speaker 5: that right now he's just as suave as all get out.
- 51:18Speaker 4: There, No i'm so. Good And i'm surprised of myself
- 51:22Speaker 4: for not thinking Of, landman BECAUSE i love that show
- 51:26Speaker 4: and it's we're, like SO I i am A and we've.
- 51:29Speaker 4: Talked we we've talked About taylor shared and everything that he,
- 51:33Speaker 4: does and so far right, now everything that the man
- 51:36Speaker 4: touches is is.
- 51:38Speaker 5: GOLD i mean HE i mean he's almost single handedly
- 51:41Speaker 5: providing the film industry work in the state Of.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Texas, yeah well and, not but he's the like and
- 51:48Speaker 4: and we Have Paramount. Play you have to have some
- 51:51Speaker 4: of the name something else On Paramount.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Plus you, watch so we we were Watching mayor of Kings.
- 51:56Speaker 4: Down that's, Sorry, yeah thing On Paramount.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Plus paramount names a show that comes On Paramount plus
- 52:04Speaker 5: that is Not Taylor sheridan that you watch that you.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Watch there is aren't any whether It's, lioness whether it
- 52:10Speaker 4: Is mayor Of, kingstown whether it is Now, landman whether
- 52:13Speaker 4: it is Not Alsa. KING i have not Started tulsa
- 52:16Speaker 4: King i've especially now THAT i know that not only
- 52:19Speaker 4: Is SAMUEL. L jackson on, there but he's getting his
- 52:22Speaker 4: own spin. Off. Now based on, That i'm, like, okay
- 52:24Speaker 4: and there's more show like.
- 52:25Speaker 5: All the all The yellowstones and spin. OFF i, mean the,
- 52:29Speaker 5: man he's, like, you how do you have this time
- 52:32Speaker 5: out of day to do all the stuff that you?
- 52:34Speaker 5: Do but so another show And anne was telling, me
- 52:40Speaker 5: you need to you need to get caught up On Stranger.
- 52:42Speaker 5: Things you need, to you need to watch it from season.
- 52:43Speaker 5: One five just rolled, Out, YEAH i still haven't done.
- 52:47Speaker 5: THAT i know we're gonna have to do. That She
- 52:50Speaker 5: she's kind of, said, hey you know that final episode's
- 52:53Speaker 5: gonna be in theaters on What New Year's? DAY i, believe,
- 52:57Speaker 5: so so it's, like better get on that or otherwise
- 53:01Speaker 5: she is just gonna be her And peyton Because peyton's
- 53:04Speaker 5: got into it and she's watching.
- 53:05Speaker 4: It Stranger things was one of those things that did
- 53:09Speaker 4: not Grab LIKE i remember watching season LIKE i would
- 53:12Speaker 4: have to go back and watch it all BECAUSE i
- 53:13Speaker 4: watched season one and started season two and that's where it. Lost,
- 53:17Speaker 4: like So i'd have to go back and give it
- 53:18Speaker 4: another another, shot right and figure out how to do?
- 53:21Speaker 5: That, so do you know what came out nine years ago?
- 53:25Speaker 5: Today No.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Rogue. One that's been nine. Years nine.
- 53:31Speaker 5: Years holy, COW i THOUGHT i thought that was that
- 53:35Speaker 5: was very serendipitous that that, movie which spawned what we
- 53:41Speaker 5: agree is probably one of the Best Star wars properties
- 53:44Speaker 5: ever created and. Produced in And Or seasons one and
- 53:47Speaker 5: two debuted nine years ago, today.
- 53:51Speaker 4: That does not feel like it was nine years, ago
- 53:53Speaker 4: because that was one of those to Where i'm like,
- 53:55Speaker 4: THIS i and again it's not even though you get
- 53:58Speaker 4: and not spoiling it now that's been nine, years but
- 54:01Speaker 4: even though you Get vader at the, End like that
- 54:04Speaker 4: was that WHY i liked And or so? Much but like?
- 54:06Speaker 4: It that made me so excited because it expanded The
- 54:10Speaker 4: Star wars universe and it was, like, oh you get
- 54:12Speaker 4: to see everything else that's going. On and that's WHY
- 54:16Speaker 4: i loved that movie so. Much and so that's why
- 54:18Speaker 4: again the shows were so brilliantly, written AND i still
- 54:23Speaker 4: go back and watch those, sometimes like NOW i just
- 54:25Speaker 4: go back and just put one on them because they're
- 54:27Speaker 4: just so.
- 54:28Speaker 5: GOOD i have found myself watching the what have what
- 54:34Speaker 5: what Is My? Sacrifice oh, oh very regularly because as
- 54:38Speaker 5: we Approach saturday. Morning it's WHAT i feel that so
- 54:42Speaker 5: Much i've.
- 54:43Speaker 4: Burned my life for sunrise THAT i will never get to.
- 54:46Speaker 4: See oh that that that is so. Good. Okay AND
- 54:48Speaker 4: i can't remember IF i asked you this when we
- 54:51Speaker 4: were talking about during the, summer because we had nothing
- 54:53Speaker 4: else to talk about during And or did you feel
- 54:57Speaker 4: like or did your perception Of one who the star
- 55:01Speaker 4: Of rogue one, was and your perception Of rogue one
- 55:05Speaker 4: change after watching?
- 55:06Speaker 5: Easily BECAUSE.
- 55:09Speaker 4: I could care less about Jen.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Erso now it's not THAT i care less know there you,
