- 0:58Speaker 1: for some upcoming tours. Love it, love it, and so
- 1:02Speaker 1: far it's been pretty easy. We've just been kind of
- 1:05Speaker 1: like going through music and stuff. Tomorrow, Kristin Denahey, our
- 1:09Speaker 1: lovely choreographer, is going to be staging us.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So she's so great. I haven't seen her for so long,
- 1:15Speaker 3: and we.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Haven't seen her in a long time either. The last
- 1:17Speaker 1: few things we've like done it just kind of via
- 1:20Speaker 1: video so this would be nice. Yeah, we'll take you
- 1:23Speaker 1: to hang out. She's the best, She is the best. Yep,
- 1:26Speaker 1: so excited to get going on that.
- 1:28Speaker 3: And but yeah, is there is this like the choreo
- 1:33Speaker 3: heavy era for you guys, like we're really I can't imagine.
- 1:36Speaker 1: We did get Adam bestie and who it can move
- 1:39Speaker 1: very well. That's true.
- 1:42Speaker 3: So stuff where he does stuff and you guys look
- 1:45Speaker 3: at him.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, yeah, she knows our limitations and there are
- 1:50Speaker 1: many many.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Like just uh, this is pretty much what we got
- 1:54Speaker 3: to offer you.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Maybe we can walk to that side of the stage
- 1:58Speaker 1: at this.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Part makes you guys look great. And you guys are
- 2:03Speaker 3: not bad dancers, You're just just not good dancers. That's
- 2:07Speaker 3: the one. That's the one.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, anything else new and exciting?
- 2:14Speaker 3: I don't know, man, it feels like fall. That's pretty exciting.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And it has been kind of crazy. Yeah, and I guess.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Football will have started when they're listening to this.
- 2:21Speaker 1: So so excited for that.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I can't wait. That's kind of it. Yeah, I don't know,
- 2:25Speaker 3: I've just been been hanging out.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Right now is the time of the great Minnesota get together?
- 2:31Speaker 1: Are you going to make your way there? Oh?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I'm not going to do that. Well, I'm
- 2:36Speaker 3: leaving town tomorrow, so help either going north. But I
- 2:44Speaker 3: just haven't been very enthused to go to that the
- 2:46Speaker 3: last couple of years. I don't know why. I've just
- 2:49Speaker 3: been like, I don't know.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there's a ton of pays.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I would get in for free, sure, either with you
- 2:57Speaker 3: or with my own group.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah. We haven't sung there in a long time.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Man, spend a minute, right and then you know, because
- 3:04Speaker 3: you'd just be there and then you would only have
- 3:05Speaker 3: to be there for a little bit. You could like
- 3:07Speaker 3: do the things and then skidatle Yeah, which I.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Could do, but it doesn't really excited me.
- 3:14Speaker 3: All that much, if I'm honest.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Sure, Yeah, that's cool.
- 3:17Speaker 3: They've had lovely weather though, so good for them.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Good for them. It's usually very very hot.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I know, and it's so nice now, very cool. Nice.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Have you been seeing any movies my friends?
- 3:30Speaker 4: You know?
- 3:31Speaker 5: I have.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I have been seeing movies during the last part. I
- 3:36Speaker 1: recorded it up at our cabin because I was on
- 3:38Speaker 1: vacation with my family. You were, and that week my
- 3:42Speaker 1: dad and I went to the Park Rapids Theater. It's
- 3:46Speaker 1: very old, very cool, but they've they've redone something, so
- 3:50Speaker 1: it's like, sure, it wasn't like going back to the
- 3:52Speaker 1: nineteen fifties, which I was a bit. I was kind
- 3:55Speaker 1: of hoping for that a little bit, you know, like
- 3:57Speaker 1: a little bit of that would be nice. But it
- 3:58Speaker 1: was still like a great sco and all that. But anyway,
- 4:02Speaker 1: we went and saw Nobody Too.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Oh, how was it? I haven't seen that yet?
- 4:07Speaker 5: Weird.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Oh, I thought for sure you would have seen it.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I've seen other things for some reason.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we had the best time. My dad really wanted
- 4:16Speaker 1: to see it. It is a ridiculous movie with all
- 4:22Speaker 1: of the violence and yeah, man, we just we were laughing.
- 4:27Speaker 1: We were we haven't had that much fun of the
- 4:29Speaker 1: movies in a very long time. That was very very
- 4:32Speaker 1: glad that he suggested that we go there. It was
- 4:35Speaker 1: between Nobody Too and The Naked Gun.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I was.
- 4:40Speaker 1: He was like, Nobody Too, we gotta go see it.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Wow, Yeah, yeah, called down.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It was fun, man, it was all about it. I
- 4:51Speaker 1: would yeah, I was. I wouldn't say it's as good
- 4:54Speaker 1: as the first one, probably sure, And it kind of
- 4:58Speaker 1: turns like a little home alone eat a little bit,
- 5:02Speaker 1: which is so much fun.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Dude.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I would recommend watching it. You know, it's just it's
- 5:09Speaker 1: so much violence, So people that don't like that should
- 5:12Speaker 1: not watch it, right, But like, if you got some
- 5:16Speaker 1: buddies or something that you want to watch it with.
- 5:18Speaker 1: That's how I watched it the first time in the
- 5:20Speaker 1: first Nobody, and it was just so much fun. This
- 5:24Speaker 1: one will also do this for you if you're into it.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I did just recently do a rewatch of the first one.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I wish I would have done that before I saw it.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense, that's kind of I was like,
- 5:36Speaker 3: you know, oftentimes I'm like, I should have watched this again,
- 5:39Speaker 3: so I'm just gonna do it preemptively. It was great,
- 5:42Speaker 3: So yeah, I'm excited to see the second one for sure.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, Yeah, it's a good time. You'll dig it.
- 5:47Speaker 1: What movie have you been watching?
- 5:50Speaker 3: I went to the theater and saw Freakier Fried.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Wow, tell me all about it.
- 5:57Speaker 3: We both went to the theater and saw very films.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Uh.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I liked it so much more than I ever thought
- 6:06Speaker 3: I would.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Wow.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I liked the first one a lot back in the day.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I thought was super fun. Jamie Lee Curtis is great.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I had a huge crush on Lindsay Lohan back in
- 6:14Speaker 3: the day, so it was perfect back in the day.
- 6:18Speaker 3: This was really fun. I don't know, like it was.
- 6:22Speaker 3: It was a silly premise obviously, and it you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: they replayed a lot of the same tricks, but those
- 6:28Speaker 3: two are super funny still. The two girls they get
- 6:31Speaker 3: because they're they're doing it's it's like their spin on it.
- 6:35Speaker 3: For the second one is the Lindsay Lohan and Jamie
- 6:39Speaker 3: Lee Curtis swap places with Lindsay Lohan's daughter and then
- 6:46Speaker 3: the like step daughter of her new bow basically, so
- 6:50Speaker 3: there's like some new blood in there as well, you
- 6:53Speaker 3: know and stuff. But yeah, it was it was cute.
- 6:56Speaker 3: It was it was dumb, right, but it had some
- 6:59Speaker 3: heart to it and it was really funny in spots.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I had a great time. I really liked it. Maybe
- 7:04Speaker 3: it was one of those where I was I went in,
- 7:06Speaker 3: I was like, I mean, I'm going to have a
- 7:08Speaker 3: good time, but this is stupid, and then I ended
- 7:11Speaker 3: up really liking it. I don't know, but it was fun.
- 7:14Speaker 3: The most off putting part though, was that Manny Jacinto
- 7:18Speaker 3: guy from Oh Yes, Isn't It and has an English accent,
- 7:23Speaker 3: and I was like, I can't. I'm having a hard
- 7:26Speaker 3: time with this.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Right is he British? Originally?
- 7:31Speaker 3: I think like part of the plot is they're deciding
- 7:34Speaker 3: where the family's gonna go. Is it gonna be London
- 7:37Speaker 3: or stay in la And I was like, well, you
- 7:39Speaker 3: couldn't have just made it like New York. That's still
- 7:42Speaker 3: a big move.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Right Is he a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars in this?
- 7:47Speaker 3: He's not? And I honestly I just wanted his character
- 7:51Speaker 3: Jason to be in this.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Movie because that was such a funny bit.
- 7:55Speaker 3: It's so good. I'm actually trying to rewap because I
- 7:58Speaker 3: never finished good.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Play Oh Comte the whole way, so.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I'm rewatching it a little bit right now. Cool, but
- 8:04Speaker 3: that's not what I can like hammer through because it's slow,
- 8:08Speaker 3: like philosophy heavy at points, like it is silly and
- 8:11Speaker 3: fun but also I don't know anyway, it was just
- 8:15Speaker 3: fun to see him. But Jamie Lee Curtis, dude, she
- 8:18Speaker 3: has still got it brother nice. She's the best. So
- 8:22Speaker 3: it was really fun. I had a good time. If
- 8:23Speaker 3: you're looking for something to watch with the kids, maybe
- 8:26Speaker 3: I think everyone would like it so cool here how
- 8:31Speaker 3: about streaming? Have you been streaming anything. Yes, so much.
- 8:36Speaker 1: And we had mentioned before, but it's close to our
- 8:38Speaker 1: favorite time of year, the NFL season. Hell yeah, so
- 8:41Speaker 1: I went to Netflix and binged the second season of Quarterback.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Oh I haven't seen that? Okay, how was that?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah? Man, another great season. This time they focused on
- 8:52Speaker 1: Jared Goff from the Lions, Joe Burrow from the Bengals,
- 8:56Speaker 1: and they just couldn't get enough for Kirko Chains from
- 9:00Speaker 1: last year. So yeah, they they brought him back while
- 9:04Speaker 1: he's on his new team, the Atlanta Falcon season. It was, yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 1: it was. It was pretty compelling because Jared Goff had
- 9:14Speaker 1: a great season, Joe Burrow played great on a bad team,
- 9:19Speaker 1: and Kirk Cousins ended up losing his job to the
- 9:22Speaker 1: rookie they drafted, which was pretty dramatic. So and like
- 9:27Speaker 1: that was the year where Burrow's house got broken into,
- 9:31Speaker 1: Like this was quite the year to film those guys. Yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: I love how they do these. Yeah, we got to
- 9:40Speaker 1: see a bunch of Vikings clips, although some not so
- 9:44Speaker 1: great ones since it was against the Lions. Yeah, but yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: it still got me, got me stoked for the NFL season.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It is. It is definitely worth checking out I was
- 9:54Speaker 1: just thinking.
- 9:55Speaker 3: The other day. I was like, this is our podcast.
- 9:57Speaker 3: We should just do necessary roughness because we want to
- 9:59Speaker 3: do it it because.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Of course, yeah, let's do it. I know we talked
- 10:03Speaker 1: about that. No, let's do it. Let's do it. Love
- 10:07Speaker 1: to because we both love it. Let's do It's like
- 10:09Speaker 1: not a year, but who cares what that will be
- 10:12Speaker 1: the next thing.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I hope you're into it because I'm incited.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Dude. I I loved that movie.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Though it comes up we know the time, Well, bne
- 10:22Speaker 3: of us, that's great, it's great, it's great. Yes, I
- 10:24Speaker 3: love it it. Okay, let's do it.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Well hey, no, no, no, I don't think you talked
- 10:30Speaker 1: to me about what you? Uh did you?
- 10:34Speaker 3: And I might have been confused because I'm just going
- 10:35Speaker 3: to pick another theater movie because I've been a theater
- 10:38Speaker 3: going theend. I just saw last night, Honey, don't the
- 10:43Speaker 3: new Cohen philm the Cohen.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Wow. I really haven't seen much for this at all
- 10:48Speaker 1: because I've kind of been staying away.
- 10:50Speaker 3: It's a Coen movie, so it's a it's got silliness
- 10:53Speaker 3: abound and like really dense. I don't know, it's very strange.
- 10:58Speaker 3: They they told the line, but I mean like silly
- 11:00Speaker 3: and also serious. So well, I don't know. They do
- 11:03Speaker 3: it a great job. This one is more.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Can you answer me one question? Is it Margaret Quality's
- 11:09Speaker 1: same character from Driveway Dolls or is it different?
- 11:12Speaker 3: Different? Different? Gal Okay, really fun character though really interesting.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It's kind of a it's set in current day, but
- 11:20Speaker 3: it is kind of like film noirri as. You know,
- 11:23Speaker 3: they kind of like that style. I got that.
- 11:25Speaker 1: From Aubrey Plaza in the In the trailer, I love
- 11:30Speaker 1: the clickity claffy heels.
- 11:31Speaker 3: There's a lot of that stuff. Some great cast you know,
- 11:35Speaker 3: they can get whoever they want, probably at this point
- 11:38Speaker 3: to be in it. Some great cast members that I
- 11:41Speaker 3: don't want to ruin because a couple of them are
- 11:43Speaker 3: like kind of surprisy at least they were to me
- 11:46Speaker 3: anything about it.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I guess the trailer, I think I only saw Aubrey Plaza,
- 11:51Speaker 1: Margaret Quality, Charlie Day. Those are only three that I
- 11:54Speaker 1: can remember.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and Charlie Days, right, and they are all
- 11:58Speaker 3: the people you saw are really really fun. But yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 3: it's it's a fun movie. It's so stylized, which is
- 12:05Speaker 3: really fun. It looks like an old movie that was
- 12:08Speaker 3: filmed today, you know, kind of deal. But yeah, it
- 12:12Speaker 3: was really fun. I had a great time with it.
- 12:13Speaker 3: We were giggling away in the old in the old
- 12:17Speaker 3: theater there and just having a grand time.
- 12:20Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 12:21Speaker 3: It's lovely. It was lovely.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Nice.
- 12:24Speaker 3: But now should we do some plugs?
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah?

- 13:37Speaker 3: There was enough, but you know, they just definitely enough.
- 13:40Speaker 3: You had to kind of search a little bit for it.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I thought it was gonna be harder, to be honest.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I had been like, we're gonna have to scour the internet,
- 13:46Speaker 1: and I feel like it didn't really take me that long.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Well, I'm a slow learner. I don't know what to
- 13:51Speaker 3: say to you. I don't know what you want from me.
- 13:53Speaker 1: A lot of bus movies.
- 13:54Speaker 3: There's lots a lot of bus movies, and we're here
- 13:58Speaker 3: today to talk about one of those bus movies. It
- 14:02Speaker 3: is the This is the anniversary twenty fifth.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Twenty fifth, two thousand. It was it was a two thousand.
- 14:08Speaker 3: The twenty fifth anniversary of almost famous Rob and Quist story.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Now I'm just kidding, your famous.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Famous adjacent you're there almost I'm almost almost famous.
- 14:21Speaker 3: It is an app title for your work. It works well,
- 14:27Speaker 3: a lovely film and we had to get a guy
- 14:29Speaker 3: who just I think loves this movie more than most others.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I think a lot. So let's go up for Timmy
- 14:37Speaker 3: Saints Honor.
- 14:39Speaker 1: What's up Timmy?
- 14:41Speaker 5: Hey, guys, how are you doing? Oh?
- 14:44Speaker 1: We're so good, so good?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Oh are you?
- 14:48Speaker 5: I'm really good? How are you? Guys?
- 14:50Speaker 3: You are really good?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Doing better now? I'll tell you that we're more handsome
- 14:54Speaker 1: every time I see you. I can't believe that you're
- 14:56Speaker 1: working on that.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I don't like it. I mean, I mean, you look good.
- 15:02Speaker 5: I'd like to say the same about you.
- 15:04Speaker 3: I would too, I would just kidding you. Guys. Gosh, Oh,
- 15:11Speaker 3: we're so excited to have you pal.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, we tried to do this one. We might
- 15:17Speaker 1: have tried to do this like five years ago, and
- 15:19Speaker 1: it just I couldn't get anybody to do this. And
- 15:22Speaker 1: then I was chatting to you about it, and You're like, oh, dude,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I love this movie.
- 15:26Speaker 5: So I couldn't find anybody who wanted to tackle with this.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Nobody wanted to talk about almost famous.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I remember we were surprised. We were like, what a
- 15:34Speaker 3: bunch of these musician people we know and no one cares.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I think there were a few that really wanted to
- 15:40Speaker 1: But when we were trying to record the scheduling. Yeah,
- 15:43Speaker 1: but then uh, talking with you, I was like, we
- 15:45Speaker 1: got it.
- 15:46Speaker 3: We gotta have Timmy on into it.
- 15:49Speaker 5: It's all happening.
- 15:50Speaker 3: It's all happening, man, Any excuse, all happening? Any excuse
- 15:55Speaker 3: we didn't ask before and you got anything? You want
- 15:57Speaker 3: to plug?
- 15:57Speaker 5: Absolutely not. Nope. Okay, listen to.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Home pre music.
- 16:04Speaker 5: We're doing that.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Sorry to jump a lot of it.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Yeah, we are going to be on the road pretty
- 16:09Speaker 1: much from September to January, so schedule it will be.
- 16:16Speaker 5: So the question you're taking a bus? Are you fired?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Well, we were going to do you know, both really,
- 16:25Speaker 1: but once you get onto the tour, it'll mostly be
- 16:28Speaker 1: on the bus.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Yeah, you take a play to our cities.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I'm just saying yeah, true to make up the difference
- 16:34Speaker 3: on the back.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I don't have that kind of budget. Let's just be
- 16:40Speaker 1: real that honest.
- 16:43Speaker 3: People don't know how expensive the bus is a little.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yes, but at least we're not in the conversion van
- 16:52Speaker 1: and trailer anymore.
- 16:53Speaker 3: So things are good there. Yeah, well, very fun. We
- 17:00Speaker 3: should we just get right into our guys, I think so.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Should we start talking some almost famous let's do ro
- 17:05Speaker 3: will you get to start with the rough synopsis I Would.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Love To Set in nineteen seventy three, it chronicles the
- 17:12Speaker 1: funny and often poignant coming of age of fifteen year
- 17:16Speaker 1: old William, an unabashed music fan who is not uninspired.
- 17:22Speaker 1: He is inspired by the seminal bands of the time
- 17:25Speaker 1: when his love of music lands him an assignment from
- 17:28Speaker 1: Rolling Stone magazine to interview the up and coming band Stillwater,
- 17:31Speaker 1: fronted by lead guitar Russell Hammond and lead singer Jeff b. B.
- 17:34Speaker 1: William embarks on an eye opening journey with the band's tour,
- 17:40Speaker 1: despite the objections of his protective mother.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Done dune, dun nice, Nice to John.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 17:50Speaker 3: So let's see what Rotten Tomatos thinks of this one.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Critics have it coming in at a rock solid ninety.
- 17:56Speaker 1: One boom boom.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And then audience members have it at ninety two ninety
- 18:03Speaker 3: two and thinks this is fresh as pale baby love it.
- 18:07Speaker 1: You know what's I was surprised by it not on
- 18:09Speaker 1: the IMDb Top two fifty.
- 18:11Speaker 5: I'm right like shock and disappointed.
- 18:14Speaker 1: But no, it's outside of it. Now. There's just too
- 18:17Speaker 1: many good movies.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Does it tell you like if it ever was on there.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It had to have been on there.
- 18:23Speaker 3: That's I assume. But you know, they just keep making
- 18:25Speaker 3: these movies, so I just.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't. I don't have that information in front
- 18:30Speaker 1: of you.
- 18:30Speaker 3: That's fair, that's fair. Wow, that's crazy. Well, let's talk
- 18:35Speaker 3: about what we think should we get into our hot.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Ta ho take?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Oh spicy, Ah, that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Lightning on the Plane got my favor.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Electricity, that's pretty spicy. Sure, certainly their interpersonal you
- 18:53Speaker 3: know interactions were pretty spicy. I will go first. Okay,
- 19:01Speaker 3: this movie a lot. This is not one that I've
- 19:04Speaker 3: seen like a ton of ton of times for some reason,
- 19:07Speaker 3: but I've seen it a handful and I really like it.
- 19:09Speaker 3: It's very fun. Obviously. I love that it features like,
- 19:13Speaker 3: you know, musicians on the road and a sort of
- 19:16Speaker 3: starting from when they're smaller up to when they're really
- 19:19Speaker 3: hitting it and band dynamics and stuff. That's all fun
- 19:22Speaker 3: and cool. I couldn't believe how many great comedic actors
- 19:28Speaker 3: are in this movie, Like, just in this movie.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It blew my mind.
- 19:32Speaker 3: It's insane. How many the Tucci is gonna be insane
- 19:37Speaker 3: for this one. And I have to admit something right
- 19:40Speaker 3: off the top, because I feel like it's gonna come
- 19:42Speaker 3: up a lot. I think I watched the director's cut.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Oh we usually that's not a big deal. It's like
- 19:48Speaker 3: forty minutes.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it is forty minutes longer. I saw that and
- 19:52Speaker 1: I was like, I'm not watching it this time. Maybe
- 19:54Speaker 1: another time.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I didn't realize until I already had started it and
- 19:57Speaker 3: was like quite a bit in, so I was like, oh, well,
- 20:00Speaker 3: so hopefully I don't say a bunch of stuff that's
- 20:02Speaker 3: not in the uh the actual film leg cut.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I hope you do mention some things so I can
- 20:12Speaker 5: call it. One thing that's missing from the non director's
- 20:15Speaker 5: cut is they kill the wind scene Petty Lean dancing
- 20:19Speaker 5: in the gym.
- 20:21Speaker 3: That's regular.
- 20:22Speaker 5: It's there, but it's like abbreviat shorter.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Yeah, so just bear with me if I'm talking about
- 20:32Speaker 3: lines or scenes or something that aren't in it. I
- 20:35Speaker 3: kind of didn't realize, like I said, until halfway through,
- 20:38Speaker 3: So I felt a little bad about that. But just
- 20:42Speaker 3: a super fun movie about like various people of various
- 20:46Speaker 3: ages coming of age in their own ways. I think
- 20:51Speaker 3: one thing that we learn as we get older is
- 20:53Speaker 3: there are different points of our lives where we're at
- 20:56Speaker 3: that sort of like coming of age, maturation points, you know,
- 21:00Speaker 3: various levels and for various reasons. But yeah, I just
- 21:04Speaker 3: I think this movie is super cool. It's very fun,
- 21:08Speaker 3: it's very hay up, and it's a fun like period
- 21:12Speaker 3: piece from you know, not a period that we cover
- 21:15Speaker 3: a ton, although I feel like we're doing it more
- 21:17Speaker 3: and more so maybe I'm wrong about that, but I
- 21:20Speaker 3: really like it. I really enjoy it. The music is amazing,
- 21:23Speaker 3: all the actors are great. But my hottest take is
- 21:26Speaker 3: hot take. It is a good thing that this kid
- 21:29Speaker 3: can write because he runs like a dork every time
- 21:35Speaker 3: he runs in this movie. I was just like, dude,
- 21:37Speaker 3: what are you doing? When?
- 21:40Speaker 5: When does he run? In the movie?
- 21:42Speaker 3: Well, in the director's cut at the very all, he's
- 21:46Speaker 3: constantly running.
- 21:49Speaker 1: He's on the track team.
- 21:51Speaker 3: He's just like un running down the street looking for
- 21:54Speaker 3: her cab, or like when he's just running to his
- 21:58Speaker 3: mom's car, he just runs like a door.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I love that take. That's a hot.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Strong But the whole movie I was just like, what
- 22:07Speaker 3: is this kid doing? And yes, I understand it's weird
- 22:11Speaker 3: of me to say that. I get it.
- 22:15Speaker 1: He's uncool man.
- 22:16Speaker 3: That's he's uncool, We're uncool. That's why we're at home
- 22:19Speaker 3: or whatever. He's a book, but I love it.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's a hot take, bro. I have loved this movie
- 22:31Speaker 1: since the first time I saw it. It's written and
- 22:34Speaker 1: directed by the very talented Cameron Crow, who's given us
- 22:37Speaker 1: Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, and a whole bunch more.
- 22:42Speaker 1: This particular film was nominated for four Oscars, only one
- 22:47Speaker 1: one of them for Best Writing. Francis and Kate both
- 22:55Speaker 1: were up for Best Supporting. I know might have been
- 22:59Speaker 1: just Best Picture too. I'm not sure. The cast that
- 23:03Speaker 1: he got together in this film is bonkers. So many
- 23:06Speaker 1: people who weren't big names before this movie have now
- 23:09Speaker 1: become huge names. And I did not remember some of
- 23:13Speaker 1: the smaller ones, so that was just so much fun
- 23:15Speaker 1: on this rewatch. So many things to love about this movie.
- 23:19Speaker 1: The characters he's created are all fascinating. It's a coming
- 23:23Speaker 1: of age story, which I tend to really enjoy those usually.
- 23:28Speaker 1: It's about a guy who's obsessed with music, which I
- 23:30Speaker 1: can appreciate. Shows life on the road, which I know
- 23:33Speaker 1: a bit about. Yeah, it's just a movie that makes
- 23:37Speaker 1: me feel good one that I'm so glad I got
- 23:40Speaker 1: to rewatch for this pod. The performances from everyone are incredible.
- 23:45Speaker 1: The music is great. Like you said, I can't he
- 23:47Speaker 1: tinied answer and not think of this movie. So yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I love all that my hot take. A part that
- 23:56Speaker 1: ruined this for me is the running. No. A part
- 24:03Speaker 1: that ruined this for me was how young they made
- 24:05Speaker 1: Penny Lane And I didn't remember that she was that young.
- 24:09Speaker 1: She could have been. She could have been a care
- 24:11Speaker 1: free adult living this life. It wouldn't have changed anything.
- 24:14Speaker 1: It certainly didn't have to be a sixteen year old.
- 24:17Speaker 1: It grossed me out, and we confirmed she was sixteen.
- 24:20Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, she she wasn't. So camera Crow has
- 24:23Speaker 5: said that he intentionally left her age ambiguous, but intentionally
- 24:27Speaker 5: made her not be young. I know that. The one
- 24:30Speaker 5: scene he describes it as like baiting him into telling
- 24:33Speaker 5: the truth, not her admitting.
- 24:35Speaker 3: That was how I took it too, because she's like,
- 24:38Speaker 3: what are you six to? You know?
- 24:39Speaker 1: Like like doesn't but she says, like doesn't the truth
- 24:43Speaker 1: just sound weird?
- 24:45Speaker 5: Doesn't just sound different? Yeah? I researched it because it
- 24:49Speaker 5: also creeped me out, like why is no one how
- 24:51Speaker 5: rapey this movie is, yes, dude, and it was distracting,
- 24:55Speaker 5: and it led me to a rabbit not a fun
- 24:58Speaker 5: Google search, but gets you to cavern Crow, saying like
- 25:02Speaker 5: he intended it to be ambiguous and didn't want it
- 25:05Speaker 5: to be a distracting factor. Although I'm guessing you know,
- 25:08Speaker 5: it's semi out of my biographical which we haven't mentioned yet.
- 25:11Speaker 3: But right, and a ton of these rock stars did
- 25:16Speaker 3: hook up with super young women, like I'm sure, but like.
- 25:20Speaker 1: To make it like the heart of this movie and
- 25:22Speaker 1: to have it be someone that young. I love that
- 25:26Speaker 1: if that's the case. But that scene always made it
- 25:29Speaker 1: seem like she was sixteen years old to me. That's
- 25:31Speaker 1: how I've always taken it. I disagree.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And also she's been on the scene for like several
- 25:38Speaker 3: years at this point as well. They make it seem
- 25:40Speaker 3: like so she had to be underage at some point.
- 25:42Speaker 3: So yeah, we had similar thoughts where I was like,
- 25:45Speaker 3: that's yucky.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I don't like yeah, no, you know, she was twenty
- 25:49Speaker 1: one when she they came out, so like she was
- 25:51Speaker 1: already pretty young. Yeah, she could have just been that
- 25:53Speaker 1: age and that then I would have been like sweet, awesome, Yeah, cool, totally.
- 25:58Speaker 1: But it makes me very happy be if that is
- 26:00Speaker 1: the case, Tommy.
- 26:02Speaker 5: That's how I'm going at it because it makes Russell
- 26:03Speaker 5: completely irredeemable. If yeah, if she like there's and part
- 26:09Speaker 5: of the movie that's so great is that he kind
- 26:13Speaker 5: of is redeemable, you know that, just like Francis mcgarmand
- 26:17Speaker 5: tells him he is that he can still become something.
- 26:20Speaker 5: So yeah, I read it that she's eighteen cool and it's.
- 26:25Speaker 6: I would much rather believe that. Yeah, yes, okay, cool,
- 26:30Speaker 6: Well then is. But it's pretty hot, buddy, it's pretty hot.
- 26:34Speaker 6: I like, Okay, work, good work, tell me what you got, buddy.
- 26:38Speaker 5: This movie is so good. I unlike you because I've
- 26:40Speaker 5: seen this. This is in my top five of movies.
- 26:43Speaker 5: I've watched everything about it, and it's it's so many movies.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Rob you kind of said that it's a great coming
- 26:50Speaker 5: of age story and a competently directed coming of age story,
- 26:54Speaker 5: like I'm in for. It always hits, like brings back
- 26:58Speaker 5: all the feels, but like the backdrop of it also
- 27:01Speaker 5: being kind of a sort of coming of age for
- 27:04Speaker 5: the band, and like having those two things happen in
- 27:06Speaker 5: parallel is just such a good way to frame the story.
- 27:12Speaker 5: You know, it's a love letter to rock and roll.
- 27:13Speaker 5: I said, it's a semi auto photographical movie for Cameron,
- 27:18Speaker 5: which is crazy. It's crazy that like reading about his experience,
- 27:23Speaker 5: like he lived a version of this movie, like he
- 27:26Speaker 5: went on the road as a teen with the Almond
- 27:29Speaker 5: Brothers and a bunch of Who.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Yeah, he was on the plane with the Who that
- 27:35Speaker 5: had some issues apparently, So super just a fun movie.
- 27:39Speaker 5: And there's there's a threat through the movie about like artificiality,
- 27:46Speaker 5: like pennies always talking about in the real world this
- 27:49Speaker 5: and that. And there's a couple of different scenes where
- 27:51Speaker 5: it's why don't we say what we're what we've always
- 27:54Speaker 5: wanted to say, or why don't we say what we
- 27:55Speaker 5: actually mean? And there's this always this Yeah, just fun
- 28:00Speaker 5: a yeer people who are real And I love that
- 28:03Speaker 5: it frames William as you know, the enemy, but he's
- 28:06Speaker 5: also a journalist and kind of a mirror for all
- 28:09Speaker 5: the characters to like actually see who they are and
- 28:11Speaker 5: then how they react to that is It's such just
- 28:14Speaker 5: a fun way to tell tell a story and make
- 28:18Speaker 5: this kind of movie. So just love it. I love it.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I love this movie and this is this is when
- 28:24Speaker 5: Cameron curle Like, this is when I got into Cameron
- 28:26Speaker 5: Crow aggressively and went back. Obviously Jerry McGuire was big,
- 28:29Speaker 5: but that was just that was a Tom Cruise movie.
- 28:32Speaker 5: It wasn't a Cameron Crow movie. And this one very
- 28:34Speaker 5: much was a Cameron Crow movie. Like it's like, oh
- 28:37Speaker 5: who directed it? And you find out about his life.
- 28:39Speaker 5: So then I went back and like this was kind
- 28:41Speaker 5: of my gateway into say Anything and some of his
- 28:44Speaker 5: earlier stuff, and then I was along for the ride
- 28:47Speaker 5: for the later stuff, which kind of a dip after
- 28:49Speaker 5: this movie.
- 28:50Speaker 1: This might have been peak Peete Cameron Crow.
- 28:53Speaker 5: He wrote We Bought a Zoo, which there's I think
- 28:58Speaker 5: there might be some red pandas in the movie, which
- 29:00Speaker 5: I love. They're so cute there they get scared.
- 29:03Speaker 1: They get scared. I love a red pantitituo preach, preach
- 29:07Speaker 1: into the choir.
- 29:09Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I love this movie. So I'm so happy
- 29:12Speaker 5: to again, Yeah, have the chance to rewatch it and
- 29:15Speaker 5: be here to talk about it.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Love it. Man, hot scorching.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Hot, my hot take. I'm going to see me hot
- 29:22Speaker 5: take for actually the next category.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Okay, cool, Well that's a great segue let's talk about
- 29:28Speaker 1: in the business. Absolutely we do in that that next
- 29:33Speaker 1: part is our favorite acting performance. We're going to pick
- 29:35Speaker 1: the dude, the dude, the dude.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 29:42Speaker 3: know that, or his dude or duder or you know,
- 29:48Speaker 3: el dude, a reno.
- 29:49Speaker 5: If you're not into the whole brevity thing, what do you.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Got to me?
- 29:53Speaker 5: This is the hardest I've done a few of these
- 29:55Speaker 5: now with you guys, And this was the hardest movie
- 29:57Speaker 5: by a mile. Like there wasn't a character that just like, oh,
- 30:01Speaker 5: it has to be this guy has to be one
- 30:03Speaker 5: of these two guys, Like it could have been so
- 30:05Speaker 5: many people, so many good actors in this movie. But
- 30:07Speaker 5: my hot take is that this movie is actually a
- 30:10Speaker 5: Penny Lane story more than it is a William story
- 30:14Speaker 5: more than it's a Still Water story. And without Penny
- 30:17Speaker 5: this this movie doesn't work. And it's all the heavy
- 30:20Speaker 5: lifting is done by Kate Hudson in this movie. She's
- 30:24Speaker 5: confident enough to walk in the room as a possibly
- 30:26Speaker 5: child but not confirmed child and kind of own it
- 30:32Speaker 5: with a bunch of rock stars, and you know, she
- 30:34Speaker 5: just exudes that confidence and that that coolness that that
- 30:37Speaker 5: William admires in her. But then she also has some
- 30:41Speaker 5: of the most vulnerable movie moments in the movie where
- 30:44Speaker 5: she's just completely you know, torn down, and you get
- 30:46Speaker 5: to see that whole range, and if it's anyone less capable,
- 30:50Speaker 5: it doesn't play like it's Yeah, it's Kate Hudson all
- 30:53Speaker 5: the way. There's a reason she's on the cover.
- 30:55Speaker 1: The cover mm hmm, iconic movie cover. That would be
- 30:59Speaker 1: an interesting time. Five.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Oh, I like that.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I like that.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Keep them in the back pocket for some day.
- 31:05Speaker 1: That's a cool idea, because yeah, one hundred percent agreed.
- 31:10Speaker 1: She's the heart of the movie for sure. Everyone falls
- 31:15Speaker 1: in love with her, uh, and that's why it was
- 31:18Speaker 1: such a bummer that she got treated so poorly by
- 31:21Speaker 1: by Russell, Like, we just wanted the best for you.
- 31:24Speaker 1: We wanted her to be happy because she's so wonderful.
- 31:29Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm definitely. I mean, I named my my
- 31:34Speaker 1: dog Penny Lane so great and it was a cool
- 31:38Speaker 1: Beatles thing too, but I just the Beatles.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Y.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so I agree with you, Timmy. I have picture
- 31:49Speaker 1: as well.
- 31:51Speaker 5: That's crazy. I actually did not think either of you
- 31:53Speaker 5: would go there.
- 31:54Speaker 3: So yeah, it's a clean sweep. Actually I went there
- 31:57Speaker 3: to clean sweep. I went there as well. I I
- 32:00Speaker 3: totally agree. And as we're talking about it, I'm realizing
- 32:03Speaker 3: there's a lot of similar Like she sleeps with various
- 32:07Speaker 3: members of the band, She like really owns the backstage,
- 32:11Speaker 3: she's friends with all of that. Like, I'm pretty close on.
- 32:14Speaker 1: This one, Like where's he going with.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Penny Lane of Home Free? I guess around that bush.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Nice.
- 32:30Speaker 3: I don't know why I did that. She's stunning in
- 32:33Speaker 3: this movie. I think what both of you said is
- 32:35Speaker 3: absolutely true. I love that we see every like you said,
- 32:42Speaker 3: just like from her most vulnerable to her most invincible,
- 32:46Speaker 3: we see every portion of her personality, which I think
- 32:49Speaker 3: is so fun. She caretakes for the gals as well
- 32:54Speaker 3: as the band members. At points, she's friends with just
- 32:57Speaker 3: tons of people, like you guys have said, I just
- 32:59Speaker 3: think she's wonderful. And I think that's a great take
- 33:02Speaker 3: saying this is kind of her story.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Really Yeah, but What's Invincible is a good way to
- 33:10Speaker 5: put it. And there's a great scene where she's talking
- 33:12Speaker 5: to William kind of early in the film about how
- 33:15Speaker 5: Russell's her last great project and like she you know,
- 33:18Speaker 5: all the guys are good, but he can be great
- 33:20Speaker 5: and she wants to make him great. And then from
- 33:22Speaker 5: that point on, William kind of becomes that champion four penny,
- 33:27Speaker 5: so like he's there for her to like tell her
- 33:30Speaker 5: the truth and kind of let her see that she
- 33:32Speaker 5: could be great and that, you know, get the very end,
- 33:34Speaker 5: gets her there or at least gets her to have
- 33:36Speaker 5: a chance to be there. I love it.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yeah, And how great is it that you know, he
- 33:44Speaker 1: tries to amend things with her and wants to see
- 33:47Speaker 1: in person, wants to like make things work. She's like, no,
- 33:50Speaker 1: you're gonna go and talk to this guy who you's
- 33:52Speaker 1: super wronged and still still made him her project. Still,
- 33:59Speaker 1: you know that was kind of cool.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so so great and didn't try to change him
- 34:04Speaker 3: at the end, which I also think is is good,
- 34:07Speaker 3: or didn't put herself through trying to change him. Maybe
- 34:09Speaker 3: it's the better way of saying it, but yeah, I
- 34:11Speaker 3: just I thought.
- 34:12Speaker 1: She was amazing in this film and she was just wonderful,
- 34:16Speaker 1: which is nice. Like you said, so many people in
- 34:21Speaker 1: this movie, it's gonna be tough, but let's choose the Tucci.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Chip for this one.
- 34:32Speaker 5: There's so many people that deserve to be in serious consideration.
- 34:38Speaker 5: But just like this movie put uh camer and crow
- 34:42Speaker 5: for me on the map, just kind of this is
- 34:43Speaker 5: one maybe that the right age for me. But this
- 34:45Speaker 5: is when Philip Semar Hoffman became kind of the guy.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Like when he's in a movie, he's like the he's
- 34:53Speaker 5: so good at what he does, and at this point
- 34:55Speaker 5: in his career he wasn't, you know, leading a lot
- 34:56Speaker 5: of movies. But whenever he was in a movie, it's
- 34:59Speaker 5: like that that gay like he's it's gonna be funny,
- 35:03Speaker 5: well acted, and everything he says in this movie is perfect.
- 35:07Speaker 5: It is like going through quotes just at one point
- 35:10Speaker 5: is but everything that Phillips what happened says?
- 35:15Speaker 1: Everything that says Lester Lester Banks. Is that a band name?
- 35:21Speaker 1: Because that really should be no, but I mean yeah,
- 35:28Speaker 1: but we should make Lester Banks uh band name?
- 35:33Speaker 3: Yeah into it?
- 35:34Speaker 5: I do it.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Anyway. He completely crushed. He crushes every time he's on
- 35:43Speaker 1: screen in every movie. One of my favorite actors of
- 35:47Speaker 1: all time.
- 35:48Speaker 3: For sure. I found myself getting really sad watching him this,
- 35:52Speaker 3: I mean kind of and all the ones he shows
- 35:54Speaker 3: up in, but this one specifically, I was like, damn, it.
- 35:57Speaker 3: He could have done these little like go up to
- 36:00Speaker 3: these movies for three or four days or whatever he did.
- 36:03Speaker 3: We could have seen a hundred more of these performances
- 36:06Speaker 3: had things been different. And it is still around, you
- 36:08Speaker 3: know what I mean, Like, yeah, damn, you know, like
- 36:11Speaker 3: he's always just so good.
- 36:12Speaker 1: He's so good.
- 36:13Speaker 3: It's a great pick.
- 36:14Speaker 1: He was my runner up because, dude, Francis McDormand in
- 36:20Speaker 1: this movie, it's so good, such a fun character. She
- 36:26Speaker 1: loves her kids so much and is trying to be
- 36:28Speaker 1: a supportive mom. She agrees to let her son follow
- 36:31Speaker 1: his dream, but also really wants him to not do
- 36:35Speaker 1: that and just graduate I'm a lawyer, become a lawyer.
- 36:41Speaker 1: The fact that she didn't tell him he was like
- 36:44Speaker 1: two years younger than he really was was pretty crazy.
- 36:47Speaker 3: That's messed up, for sure.
- 36:49Speaker 1: That's not great.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's wild.
- 36:51Speaker 1: But yeah, man, she also had some quotes where you're
- 36:54Speaker 1: just like whoa, Like she's she's bringing up Yeah. I
- 36:59Speaker 1: thought she was so great. I kind of felt like
- 37:03Speaker 1: in Lady Bird, I feel like they wanted Francis McDormand
- 37:08Speaker 1: to be that mom, you know what I mean, Like
- 37:10Speaker 1: I felt like they were taking it straight from this.
- 37:15Speaker 1: But yeah, she's always incredible and she's my teacher.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I love that. Those were my top two. Also, Francis
- 37:25Speaker 3: McDermott was just beautiful in this movie. Yeah, she's so gorgeous.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Gorgeous, honey.
- 37:33Speaker 3: I love both of those picks. Now I have to
- 37:35Speaker 3: go farther down.
- 37:39Speaker 5: We're not allowed to repeat, or just for funis who
- 37:43Speaker 5: was your number one?
- 37:44Speaker 3: My number one would have been philipsy Moore Hoffman. And
- 37:46Speaker 3: then yeah, for sure, Jason Lee love him. He's just
- 37:53Speaker 3: really good and this was a kind of a different
- 37:56Speaker 3: part for him, which was kind of fun. He got
- 37:58Speaker 3: to be a little bit more like leading man ish
- 38:00Speaker 3: almost or something, which maybe he's done, but he usually
- 38:05Speaker 3: like the comedic, you know, backup guy. But it was
- 38:09Speaker 3: it was fun to see him in this. Yeah, I
- 38:11Speaker 3: liked him a lot, but it.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Was good Billy Crudup too. I mean, this is this
- 38:15Speaker 1: was kind of how I Good Call got into Billy
- 38:17Speaker 1: crudeb was this movie and then kind of just realized
- 38:20Speaker 1: he changes so much in all of his roles. Yeah,
- 38:25Speaker 1: but man, he had some very memorable scenes in this
- 38:27Speaker 1: movie that I'm sure we'll be mentioned in the Dingis.
- 38:31Speaker 1: But I really enjoyed his performance as well.
- 38:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I crewed up the point number two and I
- 38:35Speaker 5: love Billy Crudup.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Also that we haven't said the kid yet. He was
- 38:41Speaker 3: really good. Fugit, fugit. Yeah, he's great. I thought he
- 38:47Speaker 3: did a really good job of, you know, being sort
- 38:50Speaker 3: of the young person but with the brain that's you know,
- 38:53Speaker 3: maybe ahead of the rest of it.
- 38:55Speaker 5: You know, range, maybe not as an actor, but certainly
- 39:01Speaker 5: as you know, as a character is so so small, ye,
- 39:05Speaker 5: Like for a couple of age movie, it's there's usually
- 39:08Speaker 5: the main character, you know, that we'd be talking about
- 39:11Speaker 5: as one of the top two guys, one of the
- 39:14Speaker 5: top characters, and usually you see like the most change
- 39:17Speaker 5: in that character that the story's falling. But like I said,
- 39:20Speaker 5: like he plays kind of that he plays the enemy
- 39:24Speaker 5: in this movie. He plays the watcher, the person who's
- 39:25Speaker 5: watching listening, And I think he probably changes, but you
- 39:30Speaker 5: don't see it a lot. Like what he wanted at
- 39:31Speaker 5: the beginning of the movie, like to get a microphone
- 39:33Speaker 5: in a rock star's face is what he wanted at
- 39:36Speaker 5: the end of the movie. It's an interesting uh arc
- 39:41Speaker 5: character arc that he just doesn't change a lot. It's
- 39:46Speaker 5: it's hard to it did ask a ton of him,
- 39:49Speaker 5: except to kind of be steady and consistent, and I
- 39:52Speaker 5: think that's why his mom's in the movie. I think
- 39:54Speaker 5: Francis McDormand was great too. And the only thing I
- 39:56Speaker 5: don't fully get outside of the auto biographical, please, is like,
- 40:00Speaker 5: how does that character fit in the larger story, because
- 40:03Speaker 5: really it's just it gives us a little back room
- 40:06Speaker 5: and ground on William, Like, you know, he comes from
- 40:08Speaker 5: a very strict home.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Although well that's why he's so young when he goes
- 40:12Speaker 1: out there as well, because she's made him skip all
- 40:16Speaker 1: these grades and stuff, right.
- 40:19Speaker 3: I also think maybe his story is to show that, like,
- 40:23Speaker 3: sometimes you don't have to change to also evolve into
- 40:26Speaker 3: who you need to be. And for him, you know,
- 40:31Speaker 3: it's funny and we were talking about the like what
- 40:33Speaker 3: the real world is, but for him, his entire life,
- 40:35Speaker 3: he had been told he was a different age than
- 40:37Speaker 3: he was too, so he really needed to like go
- 40:39Speaker 3: and live in the world to find out what the
- 40:41Speaker 3: real world was. And it turns out to be kind
- 40:45Speaker 3: of whatever he wants to go after is the answer
- 40:48Speaker 3: maybe to some degree, and just being kind of people.
- 40:50Speaker 5: But yeah, it.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't know, Like, maybe that's it, and
- 40:57Speaker 3: to know that he can hang in that world or
- 41:00Speaker 3: new world that he needs to as long as he's
- 41:02Speaker 3: not a dirt bag. Maybe that's the answer. I don't know.
- 41:05Speaker 3: It's interesting question though.
- 41:07Speaker 5: It's interesting with him when this movie came out, is
- 41:09Speaker 5: I don't think I watched Days and Confused right away?
- 41:11Speaker 5: Or maybe I just relate these two but they're both
- 41:14Speaker 5: coming of age type stories with like really awkward male
- 41:17Speaker 5: leads who like are kind of out showing throughout the movie,
- 41:21Speaker 5: but everybody that surrounds him.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Yeah, confused for sure.
- 41:25Speaker 5: These two movies have always been like emotionally tied to me,
- 41:29Speaker 5: just because the male leads aren't like the typical lead
- 41:33Speaker 5: you expecting this kind of story.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I guess that's a good point like that, but so many,
- 41:40Speaker 1: so many more people. I didn't really brank it anymore,
- 41:46Speaker 1: just just listed all the new people, you know what
- 41:48Speaker 1: I mean? Although I did. I did love Zoey de
- 41:51Speaker 1: Chanel and what she she brought. That was a cool
- 41:54Speaker 1: character in there, and uh, you know, gave him her
- 42:01Speaker 1: amazing album collection.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I was like, damn, I want all those That.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Was super cool and uh yeah, I mean that changed
- 42:11Speaker 1: his life completely, which I thought was really cool. All
- 42:17Speaker 1: the band aids were were cool, an a pack one
- 42:20Speaker 1: very young, and that Ferusa bulk is Sapphire. I thought
- 42:27Speaker 1: she was the funniest band aid. I thought she was
- 42:29Speaker 1: and she Yeah, she had some good moments.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I liked her a lot. Yeah, I'm with you.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Jimmy Fallon, it's his first thing.
- 42:40Speaker 3: He was pretty good. I liked it.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he was okay. They gave him some really good
- 42:43Speaker 1: lines for sure. For sure. How weird was it seeing
- 42:47Speaker 1: Rain Wilson crazy?
- 42:50Speaker 5: You know, he's he's like the Rolling Stone great handman.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. And the one that really blew me away
- 43:00Speaker 1: was Eric stone Street same. I was like, well, I
- 43:05Speaker 1: couldn't believe that. And he had a great line too.
- 43:09Speaker 5: Uh.
- 43:10Speaker 1: And I did not remember Jay Bearshell as the like
- 43:13Speaker 1: other fanboy, and he looked young as.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Hell he did Dale.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was funny because I just saw a
- 43:21Speaker 1: clip of Mark Maron too, and he was showing off
- 43:24Speaker 1: his acting in this movie. Yeah. And another crazy comedian.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Did you notice the Nick Watson David Bowie?
- 43:37Speaker 7: Uh?
- 43:38Speaker 3: Yeah, because he's it might be an extended scene in
- 43:41Speaker 3: the director's cut because he talks for he's got like
- 43:44Speaker 3: a few lines in the directors like, yeah, that's funny. No,
- 43:51Speaker 3: he's got a whole He like talks. He's like, well,
- 43:54Speaker 3: it's really you know, blah blah blah, and this is
- 43:56Speaker 3: people are just fan boys and it's whatever. And then
- 43:59Speaker 3: he goes oh and freaks out. So that's funny. He
- 44:02Speaker 3: gets like a line.
- 44:03Speaker 5: It's funny to say another comedian, because I was thought
- 44:07Speaker 5: you were gonna say Mitch Hedberg, who doesn't have a line.
- 44:10Speaker 5: I don't think, or if he does his brief but
- 44:12Speaker 5: I don't think I was gonna that's Mitch Hedberg at
- 44:15Speaker 5: the poker table, right.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I was going to ask if he had more in
- 44:18Speaker 1: the in the bootleg because now, yeah, okay, Because he
- 44:22Speaker 1: would always wondering about.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Maybe that got cut completely from the right final edit,
- 44:26Speaker 3: you know, not knowing this movie super well.
- 44:28Speaker 1: He would always talk about how he did a movie
- 44:31Speaker 1: with Peter Frampton and how he had to like smoke
- 44:34Speaker 1: fake weed with Peter Frants, like, oh, that's this movie.
- 44:39Speaker 1: But I mean you blink and you don't see ych Hadburg.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Yeah him to circle back.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't even like linger. You know, sometimes they'll
- 44:48Speaker 3: linger on people to be like, yeah, you know who
- 44:51Speaker 3: this is, but him, he was just in the background.
- 44:53Speaker 5: It's pretty crazy.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's so nuts, way underutilized.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Kyle Gas was really funny, and I don't know if
- 45:01Speaker 3: that we didn't get.
- 45:03Speaker 1: An Kyle No, he's not in it.
- 45:08Speaker 3: So he's a radio DJ. When they go, she says
- 45:12Speaker 3: at one point, come to the radio interview tonight or something. Oh,
- 45:17Speaker 3: maybe she doesn't say that in your cut. This is
- 45:19Speaker 3: so I don't know this movie.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Whenny is gonna set up the interview, let William interview, Yeah,
- 45:30Speaker 5: sitting outside their room probably.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, it's a it's actually a really funny scene,
- 45:38Speaker 3: but it's a it's interesting. I had a I had
- 45:42Speaker 3: a thought that that one might get cut because or
- 45:45Speaker 3: might have not been in the full as you know,
- 45:47Speaker 3: the movie release or whatever, because there's some weird like
- 45:52Speaker 3: like just the shots don't look quite as perfect, like
- 45:55Speaker 3: they're not quite as lined up as they maybe should
- 45:57Speaker 3: be or something. But it's a funny scene, is pretty funny.
- 46:02Speaker 1: How much of a bummer would that be to be
- 46:04Speaker 1: Kyle Gas and just be like, I'm in this new movie.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Is gonna be easy, and.
- 46:08Speaker 8: Then you get cut out at least he's Kyle Gas
- 46:12Speaker 8: Like I think the folks that there one thing ever
- 46:17Speaker 8: gets cut, you know, yeah, or like we've heard about
- 46:20Speaker 8: people who go to the premiere and their scenes have
- 46:23Speaker 8: been cut, like right, that would destroy me.
- 46:26Speaker 3: I would not do well with that.
- 46:28Speaker 1: No, that would be such a bummer.
- 46:30Speaker 3: But yes, I agree, that would just be the worst. Yeah,
- 46:34Speaker 3: the worst.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that was all the people I wrote down.
- 46:40Speaker 3: I think so for me too.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Okay, well, let's move on. Let's choose our favorite scene,
- 46:45Speaker 1: and let's choose the Dingus dings so is quite simple, really, dingus, Dingus.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I could talk about my dingus all night long.
- 46:54Speaker 3: What do you got for our favorite scene? This hard?
- 46:58Speaker 5: Yeah, this is really hard. He's gonna sorry whatever you
- 47:03Speaker 5: guys say, No, I'm gonna go a little. Well, the
- 47:06Speaker 5: great answer is tiny Dancer.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but I would.
- 47:14Speaker 5: Like the loading dock at the Sabage show at the
- 47:17Speaker 5: start of the movie, which kind of sets off the
- 47:19Speaker 5: entire movie. So you have William trying to get backstage
- 47:23Speaker 5: to interview Sabbath for Cream magazine and he can't get in,
- 47:28Speaker 5: and then still Water or not. Then Black Sabbath drives
- 47:31Speaker 5: by into the sweet car and then still Water comes
- 47:35Speaker 5: rolling up later our band aids probably first. Then they
- 47:39Speaker 5: get in, then Stillwater comes up, and it's just a
- 47:41Speaker 5: really good kind of like single location introduction to all
- 47:44Speaker 5: the key players in the movie, kind of their first
- 47:48Speaker 5: introduction to William and Williams first time interacting with them.
- 47:53Speaker 5: So it's just a fun five minutes of all right,
- 47:56Speaker 5: this this is the rest of the movie. Let's go.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 48:03Speaker 1: That's what I meant by I was going to cheat.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I was going to cheat, and I would cheat and
- 48:09Speaker 1: go with the Golden God scene. You do all of
- 48:13Speaker 1: that into into that.
- 48:16Speaker 3: I like that, Come on, because.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Those are two of the most iconic scenes in that movie,
- 48:25Speaker 1: and they're all within fifteen minutes. Yeah, he's at that party,
- 48:31Speaker 1: wanting to be with real people and just like how
- 48:34Speaker 1: cool would that be to like just have a celebrity
- 48:38Speaker 1: show up to your high school party. We'll be right,
- 48:44Speaker 1: save some of that for the rest of us, But
- 48:49Speaker 1: that scene was so funny, and then, you know, because
- 48:53Speaker 1: it came off of a pretty tense like argument that
- 48:56Speaker 1: they were having, so then we kind of get some
- 48:59Speaker 1: some comic relief and then it goes right back into
- 49:03Speaker 1: them on the bus and they're having to face each
- 49:06Speaker 1: other and all this, and yeah, that tiny dancer scene
- 49:09Speaker 1: is just magical.
- 49:11Speaker 5: It's so good.
- 49:11Speaker 3: That's it brought back together by the music.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Slowly being peeled away with like one person start singing
- 49:17Speaker 5: and then acson eventually it's just the whole bus.
- 49:20Speaker 7: Oh, it's so good, so good at that, like just
- 49:26Speaker 7: using music not just for like sweet needle draps, but like, yeah,
- 49:29Speaker 7: incorporating music into the scenes and the actual stories.
- 49:35Speaker 5: Of his character. Yeah, characters.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I do love that great use of song for sure.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Yeah, uh well, I know, I said I was just
- 49:45Speaker 3: gonna agree, But do you guys picked most of the
- 49:47Speaker 3: ones I had.
- 49:48Speaker 5: Uh.
- 49:48Speaker 3: I liked the the I guess it's right before that actually,
- 49:52Speaker 3: now that i'm thinking about it. But the where they
- 49:54Speaker 3: fight about the T shirts, Yeah, that's the big fight
- 49:57Speaker 3: right before that. I liked that scene, and I thought
- 49:59Speaker 3: that was a good you know, maybe not to that degree,
- 50:04Speaker 3: but that's a good example of how like bands can
- 50:08Speaker 3: get into like a little like miss with these you know,
- 50:10Speaker 3: like little tips with each other, I guess I should say.
- 50:13Speaker 3: And I just thought that was very relatable from my
- 50:15Speaker 3: time in bands, where it's just like because you almost
- 50:18Speaker 3: come back to it later and you're like, why was
- 50:20Speaker 3: I so mad about that? Like that Obviously we didn't
- 50:24Speaker 3: decide that or you know, whatever the case may be.
- 50:28Speaker 3: But that's just a fun little thing. I would definitely
- 50:32Speaker 3: take the tiny dancer scene for sure. I'm cool with
- 50:34Speaker 3: us going for that. I wrote down the that first
- 50:37Speaker 3: scene when he meets still Water, like you said, I
- 50:42Speaker 3: love that so much. I also think it's so interesting
- 50:45Speaker 3: they are all so surprised that he at least this
- 50:50Speaker 3: is how I read it. He says all these compliments
- 50:52Speaker 3: about them and he's like, anyway, have a good night,
- 50:55Speaker 3: and they're kind of shocked. And I think it's both
- 50:57Speaker 3: because he's being super nice and they weren't expecting that,
- 51:00Speaker 3: but also he it wasn't transactional in that moment, and
- 51:03Speaker 3: I think they weren't used to that. Like he wasn't
- 51:06Speaker 3: saying that to get something from them. He was just
- 51:08Speaker 3: saying a real truthful, nice thing about them. And it
- 51:13Speaker 3: ended up being like it did work in his favor.
- 51:15Speaker 3: But I just thought it wasn't like that weird, you're
- 51:18Speaker 3: in a band, you can get me in the door,
- 51:20Speaker 3: you know. That's not why he said it, which I
- 51:22Speaker 3: thought was kind of fun. I don't know if that's true,
- 51:24Speaker 3: but that's how I wanted it.
- 51:25Speaker 1: It was like, yeah, man, I'm incendiary too, come back.
- 51:31Speaker 3: Don't stop now, you know, Like it's so funny and
- 51:34Speaker 3: just and I loved the That flight scene was crazy and.
- 51:39Speaker 1: It was that's my runner up scene is incredible. And
- 51:44Speaker 1: then that button at the end.
- 51:49Speaker 3: I also love that they're not like I'm sorry, man,
- 51:52Speaker 3: they were like, you suck. And I've always hated.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Right, well, you think that at first because it's like
- 51:58Speaker 1: I just want you all to know I love it all.
- 52:01Speaker 1: And it does not stay there.
- 52:03Speaker 3: I don't know, it.
- 52:05Speaker 5: Turns and then an underrated funny perform. That scene was
- 52:09Speaker 5: rustless singing. He goes Peggy Sue into a big bobber.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just kind of.
- 52:17Speaker 5: For sure.
- 52:18Speaker 3: But you have the button to flay.
- 52:21Speaker 1: And then it levels out. And there.
- 52:26Speaker 5: Was so that scene, you know, with with him this
- 52:30Speaker 5: decoration and then the plane instantly leveling out. There's a
- 52:33Speaker 5: lot of time and like camera Crow wrote his asked
- 52:35Speaker 5: off in this movie and set things up the I'm uh,
- 52:40Speaker 5: what is a Greek god?
- 52:42Speaker 1: I'm a golden I'm a golden god.
- 52:44Speaker 5: That scene he's on the phone with the manager, he's
- 52:47Speaker 5: like I got him, he's safe, but he's on acid.
- 52:50Speaker 5: And then they don't show you the other part of
- 52:52Speaker 5: the conversation and he just says, I don't know how
- 52:54Speaker 5: to tell if it's too much, and then it cuts
- 52:55Speaker 5: right down. I'm a golden God. There's like six really
- 53:00Speaker 5: quick cuts in this movie where it's like, yeah, man,
- 53:03Speaker 5: this is this is tight.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, really fun.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Version I watched was not as tight.
- 53:09Speaker 1: I bet. Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 1: When it's right at two hours, it's it's pretty tight.
- 53:14Speaker 3: It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but I was like,
- 53:17Speaker 3: oh boy, I really.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Made another runner up I wrote was just all of
- 53:22Speaker 1: the chats with Philip Seymour Hoffman, but especially the last
- 53:27Speaker 1: scene when William is at his lowest and doesn't know
- 53:31Speaker 1: what to do and he gives him some some pretty
- 53:34Speaker 1: great advice and it's just really truthful with him. And yeah,
- 53:37Speaker 1: he threw some really great quotes at him, really good stuff.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Yeah, like that a lot.
- 53:42Speaker 5: Everything he says is so perfect. That's unbelievable.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:47Speaker 5: I had the entire start of the movie. I started
- 53:49Speaker 5: writing down scenes and I'm just the flashback sequence. So
- 53:54Speaker 5: it was young William eleven year old William we come
- 53:56Speaker 5: to find out, and uh, it starts with a hater
- 54:00Speaker 5: rating opening credit scene, Like that was the first thing
- 54:02Speaker 5: I wrote down, which is just a fun way to
- 54:03Speaker 5: do it.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah, francis wrong the first time.
- 54:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, they raise it. And then you have the
- 54:10Speaker 5: scene where Francis McDormand confronts her daughter, and like it
- 54:17Speaker 5: just sets the character so well and kind of sets
- 54:19Speaker 5: the mood.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Of the home.
- 54:19Speaker 5: And William again is just kind of an observer in
- 54:21Speaker 5: that scene, which sets up the movie, and right through
- 54:26Speaker 5: when she leaves and she leaves all the records. Then
- 54:28Speaker 5: he's going through the records and there's a record that says,
- 54:31Speaker 5: listen to Tommy with the candle burning, and you'll see
- 54:33Speaker 5: your entire future, and it cuts to present day like
- 54:36Speaker 5: cuts to the future. I just thought it was a
- 54:38Speaker 5: perfect five minute opening the set of scenes.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Love that.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Also, love that end scene or towards the end when
- 54:48Speaker 3: the sister comes home with him and like the Francis
- 54:52Speaker 3: McDormand and Zoe are like kind of don't know how
- 54:55Speaker 3: to act and then he just sort of like pushes
- 54:57Speaker 3: them together and they just start giggling, and I don't know,
- 55:00Speaker 3: I just love that felt very cathartic to me to
- 55:03Speaker 3: be like, oh good, we can just get over our
- 55:05Speaker 3: bills and just enjoy each other's company. Again.
- 55:08Speaker 5: It was very cute.
- 55:09Speaker 3: It was just a lovely moment.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I forgive you. I didn't apologize.
- 55:16Speaker 5: I might have to edit my boohoo count here. What
- 55:20Speaker 5: do you what do you mean the cathartic moment?
- 55:23Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 55:25Speaker 1: Dude, Timmy, we're gonna have to go with yours For
- 55:27Speaker 1: whatever reason, I skipped that all So Timmy, we're going
- 55:32Speaker 1: with yours.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Done three hundred.
- 55:38Speaker 5: I have to mention the wind as well. So the
- 55:40Speaker 5: scene with her dancing again, the scene with uh yeah
- 55:47Speaker 5: Penny dancing in the empty editorium and it plays Cat
- 55:51Speaker 5: Stevens the Wind, which that that song like it was forever,
- 55:55Speaker 5: like just.
- 55:57Speaker 3: To yeah extended because there's a lot of her dancing around,
- 56:02Speaker 3: which is actually pretty great.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Oh okay, there's too much like okay, okay.
- 56:08Speaker 3: But that was another one. There's like if the focus
- 56:13Speaker 3: must have got weird, so you had to like re
- 56:15Speaker 3: wrack the focus in the middle of the scene. So
- 56:18Speaker 3: you see that a couple of times in there, and
- 56:19Speaker 3: I was like, I can't imagine that made the like
- 56:22Speaker 3: the you know regularly release at it. You know, I
- 56:25Speaker 3: can't imagine.
- 56:27Speaker 5: So I'll step on the trivia. But that's Camera Crow's
- 56:29Speaker 5: favorite scene in the movie too.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Oh fun, I don't so that's cool.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say that for the trivia part,
- 56:36Speaker 1: but lovely, I was a.
- 56:40Speaker 5: Crazy planted for trivia. He whoa sure shots?
- 56:48Speaker 1: Can we say tiny Dancer.
- 56:49Speaker 5: Is the is Yes, one of the best scenes.
- 56:55Speaker 1: It's wonderful. It's so good, and that's why we're doing
- 56:58Speaker 1: our top five scenes. Stay Dune, Yes, sir, Let's let's
- 57:05Speaker 1: talk about some of these quotes.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Let's show me the mo name, show me the money,
- 57:12Speaker 3: show me.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Before we see it.
- 57:17Speaker 5: Let me just say what no one else will say
- 57:19Speaker 5: to you. Your looks have become a problem. That's number one,
- 57:25Speaker 5: because it's just it's just a completely like I lost
- 57:28Speaker 5: this argument, but I'm just gonna go for a cut
- 57:30Speaker 5: and walk out.
- 57:31Speaker 1: And especially since Billy Crudip is so.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Attractive, he is not a bad looking person, so cute.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Throw some more out man.
- 57:44Speaker 5: That was one of my favorite I mean again, it's
- 57:45Speaker 5: everything Lester says. I think my favorite Lester quote is
- 57:52Speaker 5: the only true currency in this Baker that is what
- 57:55Speaker 5: you share with someone else when you're uncool, and he
- 57:57Speaker 5: had a ton about being uncool. My second favorite last
- 58:01Speaker 5: year was at the beginning, when they're walking away from
- 58:04Speaker 5: the radio station. He goes, okay, like it's great, it's
- 58:07Speaker 5: been great, but I can't just stand here chatting with
- 58:09Speaker 5: all my fans and it cuts just like a wide
- 58:11Speaker 5: open empty street.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Well, and then then it's them eating.
- 58:17Speaker 3: I'm sure you got some stuff to do.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 58:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was great, that's wonderful.
- 58:25Speaker 5: Yeah, how do you know when it's kicked in and
- 58:26Speaker 5: I am a golden god.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Yes.
- 58:30Speaker 5: One of the one of the things I was talking
- 58:32Speaker 5: about the time is how old are you? Eighteen? Me too?
- 58:35Speaker 5: Actually I'm seventeen, me too. Actually I'm sixteen, me too.
- 58:40Speaker 5: The truth just sounds different in fifteen. It's just just
- 58:44Speaker 5: the way that that progressed. I thought was fun.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Alright, now I think she's sixteen from that.
- 58:50Speaker 5: Oh no, I swear she's I know.
- 58:53Speaker 1: I'm just saying she's an.
- 58:54Speaker 5: Appropriately aged lady for a rex star. It sounds bad.
- 58:59Speaker 5: It needs me. Yeah, well that's what I was.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I get you. I get you.
- 59:07Speaker 5: In that opening sequence when he's eleven h she says
- 59:12Speaker 5: fuck you yea, and she goes, well, there it is.
- 59:16Speaker 5: Your sister used that word. And then William says, I
- 59:18Speaker 5: think she said pack and what's the difference the letter you.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that was pretty great.
- 59:24Speaker 3: But he says it so happily, I know, and.
- 59:27Speaker 5: She gets a little smirk when he says it. Great,
- 59:32Speaker 5: it's a fun Those are my favorites.
- 59:37Speaker 1: It's all happening, man, it's happening. That's got to be
- 59:40Speaker 1: one of the cuts in the movie for sure. I
- 59:43Speaker 1: also had that Lester Lester Bangs one, The True Currency
- 59:49Speaker 1: one is so good. I love that. I love when
- 59:54Speaker 1: rustles on the roof. You can tell Rolling Stone Magazine
- 59:57Speaker 1: that my last words were I'm on drugs, Russell. I
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: think we should work on those last words. I got it,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I got it, last words. I dig music. It's just
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: like and they cut.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: To that one guy and he's like.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I don't know, man, little drugs. Yeah, I go back
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: to that.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: That's pretty great.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Oh, his ending with the so Russell, what do you
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: love about music? To begin with? Everything?
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: That is great?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Rock stars have kidnapped my son. Yeah, it's pretty good.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: And then the girl just still taking notes.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Yeah, one that was kind of funny, and it was
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Jimmy Foullon. They gave it to Jimmy. Just if you
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: think Mick Jagger will still be out there trying to
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: be a rock star at age fifty, then you are sadly,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: sadly mistaken. Meanwhile, he's like eighty years old.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: He was touring. I don't know if he's doing it
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: this year, but he did last year, right.
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: So yeah?
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Yeah, why do you throw some up bukes?
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: I love?
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: Don't you have any regular friends? Famous people are just
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: more interesting? Just like that line, And I wrote in
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: parentheses that's why I like Rob.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Blanqust love it.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Almost famous beat bold and mighty forces will come to
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: your aid. It is a cool lie. Yeah, I liked
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: that a lot.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Gutha said that. She said it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know that.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Well you don't, I don't believe not.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Well, no, I can't. I can't. I can't quote them.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: What was Vicky Bellancourt's.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Name, Ferusa Usa, Bulpusa.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it's her that says it. Oh no,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: it's it's Anna Paquin. When she's talking to him and
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: she's like, you're really nice, and she's like, if only
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: you were taller, English rich could play guitar and we're older.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: He just goes, I'd be someone else, and she was
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: like true.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: The only thing we really get from Annapac when she
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: says it's all happening at one point, but she also
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: does the act one she pretends like he's not there.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: That is great too.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: That's pretty much all we get from Anna Pac.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Well she had a great line there, but we've heard
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: about so that's fun on the plane okay, and then
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: immediately the you know, the turbulence sounds. It's really great.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: It is that love.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: When they're when they find out he's written like the
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: real account of them for Rollings Down and Uh at
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: one point just goes like you had the right idea
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: because the drummer never says anything the whole time except
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: I loved that. That was really fun.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Yeah, is it so hard to make us look cool?
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: Great?
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: So great? Uh, I had to live with you and
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: now I might die with you and it's not fun there.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he really went off.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: That was really great. Also. I don't know if this
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: is in your version, but at some point they call
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: our young hero Williams sweet and he goes, where do
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: you get sweet? I'm done and mysterious and pissed off,
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: and it's yea.
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: With Penny Lane at the end.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Before that the New York So so great. Uh, and
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: a semi serious one was you see You're dangerous, You
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: see everything. Most people they're just talking or they're just
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: waiting to talk, but you you listen.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: And I thought that was pretty cool.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that was cool. Just a clun one one that
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: isn't great that I used to like and now it's
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: just creepy. Is the I'm gonna go where many men
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: have been before? And then yeah, kisses her while she's
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: like passed out.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: Yeah, not great.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: Not good, not pretty accurate to like the rock and
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: roll world, which but not great, not great.
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: No, it's not in character, like it's not something he'd
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: say to himself.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: May then yeah, yeah, really taking advantage of that situation.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: And it's just like it didn't seem again.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: I'm trying to watch it because I love the movies,
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: so you try to like explain the things that are.
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: I try viewed it as him trying to keep her
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: conscience conscious in any way possible until they got there
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: to save your life. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, it wasn't that.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: That whole scene hit different in than it used to.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: At least I don't.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Remember if I said this one, but it's another Phillipsy
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: more Hofman. The when they're talking at the very end
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: and it's like, I'm glad you were home. It's like
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: I'm always home.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Cool, cool, for sure.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: That's all the ones are around now.
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: I had a couple more. I had go for it
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: to me's some some sweet ones. I like that I
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: have to go home. And Penny's looking at him and
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: he's like, you are home.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: You are home, kind of a poof you are home.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: And then that's fun.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: If you ever need something, you know, a rescue, hit
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: me up. We live in the same city. Sometimes I
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: feel like I live in a different world.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: And the last one from Leicester. To finish it off,
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: you'll meet them all again on their long journey to
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: the middle. That's his first kind of iconic.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: That's a really good one.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Nice. Well, now we're going to go to a news section.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: We've only done it a few times. I'm gonna go
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: to moments.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Oh God, bless you for being so honest. I would
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: have just lied and been like.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: I just started saying, no, I'm blanked it. I'm not
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: at home, I'm on the road.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: I forgot.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: But Timmy, it sounds like you you rocked it out.
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: I did it, actually, so I I didn't blak it
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: it just I prepared for this movie differently. I just
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: put everything down and I just watched the movie because.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: I remember version.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Yeah, my god, it's almost a three hour movie I
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: had this year.
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: Zero just gets too good and like it just it
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: makes me feel so good to watch this movie that
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: I couldn't imagine crying.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: It's not zero, I'll tell you that.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: And then then I changed it to one because of
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: uh the homecoming scene with the daughter. But I feel
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: like it's gonna be a little there's some sad parts
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: of this movie.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: But yeah, well, I mean that scene we're talking about
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: when he's like Ryan on the phone and talking to Lester,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: I feel like that has to be one.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: I think he says, right, what you want? Oh no,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: that's what That's what the other.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Guy says to Billy. Krudep says that Lester says it too.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: He just tells him to write the merciful but yeah,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: I would imagine, you know, Penny Lane getting her heart broken.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I would think would probably.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah up there, what kind of beer is a
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: heartbreaking line?
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Because that's pretty great that she was deflected.
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, the way she said it.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but before that though, she because autely, kind of
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: makes it funny when he was I was there, I
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: was there.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, that totally got.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I'd say you probably did it about five times in
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: this movie.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: That is exactly the correct number. I don't even have
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: to really have to try, he says. His mom says,
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: I miss you and I love you. Yeah, and she's
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: just really sad and scared because he's on the.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Don't take drugs. We didn't say that one, but that's
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: all the time.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Uh boohood. When mom tells russell Off, that's a great scene.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: We should that is a great scene. And the line
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: that you did say, the line Tom but when she's
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: like you could still be something like him, and I
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: think that's pretty amazing. Who sold you to Humble Pie
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: for fifty bucks in the case of beer? That was something. Uh,
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: And then that the like write what you want into
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: the sad phone conversation. I kind of do that all
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: as one and then hugging the mom at the end.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: So yeah, those five.
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: I got one, five, I got five on it.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Let's go to some movie truly, Yeah, let's see to
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: look like a real rock band before actors and still
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Water rehearsed for four hours a night, five nights a
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: week for six weeks. But a lot.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: That's a lot.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: It went.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: It looked like a real rock band.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's also not Jason Lee singing.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Jason Lee singing.
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: It shocked when I read that. Really, I can't tell you.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like a lot of times you
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: can just tell, you know, somebody's speaking voice. Usually you
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: can tell kind of if it's a similar singing voice.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: But that one was bad. That's one of the worst ones.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: The one that still pisses me off is like the
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: Steel Dragon one with Marky Mark.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Mark Mark like the singer what do we do? But
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: they used two different singers in that, which is really
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: like the dude from what was it called the Verve,
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: the guy who did we were only Freshman? He is
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: one of the guys maybe the Verve Pipe.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't remember, but I don't know.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: But it was the guy who did we were Only Freshman.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: The gotcha okay, but then they got like a different
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: guy to do all like the screamy high stuff.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Yeah that's crazy.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: So anyway, sorry, that's a different movie of.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: The The film is director, what did you say, Timmy?
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: That could have been the Tria, which could have been
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: the worst. Fake singers are the most obvious.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: It's probably not the worst, but they're not great. The
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: film is director Cameron Crows semi autobiography, Bigraphical Jesus. Yeah.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: The whole time I was thinking, we already talked about this.
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: I think we said all the things except we didn't say.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Russell Hammond is partially based on Glenn Frey of Fry
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: Fry of the Let's Move On. Penny Lane asked William
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: if he'd like to go to Morocco with her. He says, yes,
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: ask me again. According to camera co that ask me
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: again was the actor stepping out of character and asking
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Kate Hudson to repeat our lines for another take. What
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: Cameron liked it so much that he just kept it in.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: And I thought that was interesting because I was like,
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: why did say that? That's weird? But it does fit somehow,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: It's really interesting and Also, isn't that kind of like
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: ballsy for like an actor to like step on it
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: and be like okay, Like, isn't that the director's job
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: to be like okay, ask him again, because that didn't
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: really work, I know.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: Because it's his like his coverage, right, So maybe they
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: and stuff is filmed auto sequence, So maybe that was
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: like towards the end when they were comfy. I don't know.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not real upset about it, but no,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: I yeah, I would be.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: Scared to do that, I know that. Yeah, especially the
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Kate outs what happens. Let's see, most films have music
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: music budgets of less than one point five million. I'm struggling.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: This film featured over fifty songs, and its music budget
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: was three point five million.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: For The Mugic Crazy.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: When Cameron Crowe's mother appeared on the set for a cameo,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: crow made every effort to keep her away from Francis McDormand,
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: who was playing a character based on her, and he
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: says it was so mcdormand's interpretation of the part wouldn't
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: be surveyed, but he ended up leaving the set for
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: a few minutes. On the first day of shooting and
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: he returned to find them having lunch together. So that
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: didn't work. O.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: That pretty great.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Stillwaters songs were created by Peter Frampton, Love That, Cameron
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: Crowe and his ex wife Nancy Wilson of the rock
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: band Hearts.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: Life is just.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: Yeah are.
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: And maybe my ex wife?
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: This is crazy, crazy crazy. Uh So Crow sent the
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: script around town to see if he could get anyone
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: to respond to it. Steven Spielberg, founder of DreamWorks, read
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: Crow's hundred and seventy two page script over a weekend,
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: called Crow on Monday and said direct every word, and
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Crowe said he filmed almost all of the script.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: It's the biggest waste of three words ever, adding the
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: common founder of DreamWorks after Steven Spielberg is that's how people.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Oh, I was saying it, and I was like, I'm
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: just reading.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I know. I didn't even catch.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Jazz. That's so funny. You may not know his other work,
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: but he's.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: The found DreamWorks.
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: I'll have.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: He created Amblin Entertainment. That's Steven Spielberg.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: All that guy, Yes, yes, talking about this movie called
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: at I didn't know what it was. Oh, this is fun.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: The old records that William looks through that his sister
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: gave him. That those are actually Cameron Crow's saved from
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: his younger years.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: I believe it.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: That's pretty hot. I like that. The Golden God is
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: a reference to Robert Plant of led Zeppelin, who is
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: purported to have said the same thing whilst sober looking
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: over the sunset strip from a hotel balcony.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: That is douche here when you're sober, for.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: Sure, big time. Also, do we believe it? I don't know.
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: I don't know enough about rubber Plant.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: Yeah, me either, who knows. The legal disclaimer at the
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: end of the film, which for most films merely states
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: that all characters and events are fictional, with any real
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: life similarities being coincidence, notes that the character of Penny
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Lane was loosely based on a real individual, and Crowe
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: has stated that Penny Lane is based on a real
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: life friend, Penny Trumbull, who goes by the name who
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: went by the name Penny Lane, and she lives in Portland,
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Orgon and is involved in the music industry. So there
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: is a Penny Lane ish person out there.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Interesting, interesting, interesting. Philips Y more Hoffman was only permitted
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: because of his schedule to be on set for four
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: days and he had the flu the entire time. So
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: in the sixth Rock for a Second.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Crazy Wow, he was in the middle of filming something else.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Is that crazy?
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: But it didn't say what look into it.
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: I'm going to figure it out.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: We had that. Oh I didn't know this. So Les Harvey,
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: who was a guitarist for Stone that Crows, was actually
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: killed by grabbing a microphone that wasn't grounded in nineteen
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: seventy two. So that's scary.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a scary scene.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: That seemed scared. I didn't like that. I didn't like
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: that one bit. But we had the Mick Jagger I'm
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: not going to be doing on his fifty thing. That's funny.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: Oh this is sad, but here we are the real
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: Lester Bangs died of a drug overdose at a fairly
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: young age. And then you'rely similar to Philip Seymour Hoffman
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: in the film, who later died of a drug overdose
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: as well. Yeah, that's kind of a bummer.
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll leave you on that bummer.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you for that. I had a couple
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: of things. The roles of Russell Hammon and Penny Lane
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: were originally written for Brad Pitt and Sarah Polly, Polly
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: dropped out to work on her own project. It was
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: a low budget Canadian movie called The Lave of Enclosures.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: The Lave of Enclosures, Yeah, so yeah, then Kate Hudson
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: got it. And then I saw that Jon Favreau and
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Jack Black both auditioned for the role of Lester Banks.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: They listed a ton of people who auditioned for uh
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Penny Lane. It was like pretty much every actress it
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: seemed that. Yeah, so way to go for Kate Hudson
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: because that I mean, she wasn't a name at that point.
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: She wasn't at all.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: She rocked it out.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: Jack Black could have done a decent Lester Banks, who
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: was the other one.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: He would have been so young in that he would.
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: Have That's the thing I'm thinking almost Jack Black now, yeah,
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: twenty years ago.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: John Favreau, who also would have been interesting. I can't
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: really see him as that.
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: But maybe maybe a.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Tougher Fitt have done it as good as h as
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: ps ps ah for sure.
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: That almost every PSH rollo, Yeah, nobody can do it.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Brad Pitt could have been the Billy Crudip character.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. So you need to figured it
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: out for sure.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure five years old.
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: Maybe maybe I worked out for sure.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Did you come up with any other trivia we didn't hit?
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: Tim know?
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: I mentioned the one earlier that the Petty Lane dancing
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: in the empty Degreas during Cleveland Auditorium is Cameron cross
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: favorite scene of the movie.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: That's great.
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: Yeah, all the Peter Frampton.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: I always like a fictional band that actually has some
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: some good tunes.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: Yeah. Cool.
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: Yeah, fear Dog was on my iPod for quite a fever.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Dog was nice.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I did see somewhere that they went and did a
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: full on music video for that.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's cool.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: That'd be fun to look up fun.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Will there be a sequel Judgment Day?
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: No? Maybe, no, there won't. I did it right after
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: my hot take that I would watch. I mean, I'd
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: watch anything that came recorded in this space again. But
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: I think it would actually be an interesting film to
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: tell the story from the Penny Lane point of view. Sure, oh,
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: which gets done from time to time and it usually sucks,
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: But I think sure the Penny Lane story would be interesting.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I agree, that would be fun, cool, and they could
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: do that.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: Sweet, Do you guys want to play a game? Yes,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I made a starting five. I'm going to name five
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: actors from a film. When you know the film, You're
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: going to ring in with your name. If you get
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: it wrong, there's no negative points, but you won't be
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: able to guess again for that movie. Okay, if their
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: actors' names remaining, you can guess those for a point each.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: The other person can steal if you get any of
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: those names wrong. All these films have something in common.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: When you know the theme, you can ring in at
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: any time for a point. We feel good?
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: Ready, Okay, I think number one you beat me last
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: time for once.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he did not today though not.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Today midgets digits. All right, let's do it. The first
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: name is Billy crewed up.
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: The second name is Leev Schreiber. Number three Rachel McAdams,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Tim number tim.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: It is they knew what is the name of that movie?
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: You gotta five?
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: I'll get it four.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Maybe I won't get three?
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Two? One? Yeah, well, clearly you love the name of it.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: I knew, Yeah, so I will let you. Oh, yeah,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: that's say say the other two names that I haven't
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: said yet.
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: If you would like, I have to try to guess
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: which two names you have, because you left some meat
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: on the bone there, young man.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, there's two more names remaining.
- 1:21:20Speaker 9: So you can Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton is one of
- 1:21:23Speaker 9: those two names. And yeah, you got the two names
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: and the name of the movie.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Mute. Do you know the name of the movie.
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: Well, now I'm conflating. Is that the post or was
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: the post of later? Okay, so the post was what

- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Let's picture the one beam spot spot Spot?
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: Do I get it?
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: No?
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: Oh my god, I can't.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: Believe I had. You did give points.
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: Fucking Depressed and I watched it like seven times? Is
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: how good that movie is.
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: It's really good.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: It's a good movie.
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: It is depressed, but it sucks like it just like
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: kisses you off every time you watch it. Yeah, and
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: it throws all nine to eleven in there, just just
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: to make it all the more miserable to think of,
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: really making said, really gumine American. I just keep going
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: back to it.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, stop that, you got two points for it, so
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: nicely done. You're on the board. Let's go to the
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: second movie. The first name is acclaimed actor Busta rhymes.

- 1:23:05Speaker 5: I've never heard of, Rob Brown Brown led with it?
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: Bobby Brown?
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: No, Rob, he doesn't go by Bobby. The fifth and
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: final name is Sean Connery. Fine, bugs, bugs got it first.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: That can't be the League of Extraordinary and Gentlemen.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: That is incorrect, Timmy, do you have a guess?
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: Is it fighting Forrester?
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: You're the man now? Yes, it is that.
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: Obviously that's who Rob Brown is that?
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: That's who Rob Brown Isn't think of that? Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: I was just trying to think of Sean Connery. When
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: did the interact with Buster rains?

- 1:23:48Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a fair.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that was He was Rob Brown's brother in the movie.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: No, no, that I ever saw it.

- 1:24:08Speaker 5: I think I'm conflating Buster. I was in Coolio, which
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: are two.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Great two great rappers. Yeah, well Bust is still more well,

- 1:25:13Speaker 1: No, definitely that you can't be What am I thinking? No,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: I don't know, does matter is wrong? I'm trying to think.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: You got a guess, Timmy.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: I'll guess. I was looking at his IMDb just yeah,
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: before this, to see what he was filming at the
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: same time he was stayon main.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: I'll throw out no. No, this was the He got
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: an Academy Award for this movie. It was called Capotia.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: You know I never saw that one.
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: That is weird, that kind of movie. So his His
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: IMDb is the very top of it is still up
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: and Capoti actually shows there. Interestingly enough, you should have
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: just making Peter screen.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's for once in your life? Do you know
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: what the theme is? Yeah? Do you know what the
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: theme is?
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: People from this movie are in these movies.
- 1:26:11Speaker 5: But I did make people who write for a living.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: Timmy got it?
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: Oh all right, well, ye, thanks for nothing.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go to number four. The first name is
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: mc gamey. You might know him as swamp thing from
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: con Air.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: Okay, that helps.
- 1:26:38Speaker 5: It isn't confused to be born I have.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: I didn't know he was a music as.
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: On an airplane in my brain.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: And there you go.
