- 0:14Hello and welcome to Brothers Rappers with the ETA Brothers.
- 0:23This episode we are going to be taking a look back at Salford
- 0:28City Wrestling's Uprising show that took place a probably a
- 0:35couple months now it feels like at the sold out Pendlebury
- 0:41Social Club in Swinton. So we will take a look back at
- 0:46that as well as have a little look ahead to their next show on
- 0:53June 5th for Friend or Bo. So obviously this show is quite.
- 1:11Mainly due to illnesses or just schedules not particularly
- 1:18working out for anyone. But hopefully on the next
- 1:24Salford show that that will be very much different.
- 1:29So unfortunately you have to yet again hear just for me and watch
- 1:37me being slightly distracted by watching the baseball to my
- 1:41left. But yes, Salford City Wrestling,
- 1:47the 8th show at the Pendlebury Social Club and the 8th occasion
- 1:54in a row that it saw a sellout crowd.
- 2:02So Salford is one of my favourite promotions to go to.
- 2:07A slight ball leak to get to, even though it's more local than
- 2:15a few promotions I do. Just getting back is normally
- 2:22the problem I find, but Salford itself a really enjoyable
- 2:29promotion, which is why I've done everyone to date.
- 2:35But I'll discuss more on my thoughts on the promotion at the
- 2:41end of the show, so let's get into it shall we?
- 2:46We begin with Decker making his entrance.
- 2:53We are then joined by the King of Salford and Troy Ryan as he
- 2:59gives a royal speech as he says that Big T, who was originally
- 3:06scheduled to face Decker, was not there because he is on
- 3:11holiday. I mean, injury is technically a
- 3:16holiday, but they did very well to kind of like cover that up.
- 3:22Vespa was in France, so they said he was on royal business.
- 3:27Again, really well covered up. So Ryan practically says none of
- 3:35the monarchy are here and this leads to Decker pretty much
- 3:42asking a good question. Well why don't I just face you
- 3:46then? To which Ryan is not all about
- 3:50that and says I don't want to deprive the subjects of Salford.
- 3:58Not seeing Decker, however, he says I'm not facing you because
- 4:07I so he's not facing him effectively.
- 4:10He's he's, he's doing healish things in a very healish way.
- 4:16However, he says he will have Decker face someone from the
- 4:21monarchy and we get a brand new face to Salford City Wrestling.
- 4:30As Troy Ryan says he has someone who loves money and also is
- 4:38quite the hitman. It's not for a hat, just to let
- 4:43you know. So we start off with match #1
- 4:47Decker against the Mercenary in Declan McCarthy.
- 4:56Seeing Deck come out had me immediately interested in this
- 5:01contest because seeing him going up against Decker it it was much
- 5:11I didn't know I wanted to see. But I'm very glad I saw it.
- 5:17So the notes I have. So Declan, as you would expect
- 5:25dominates this contest early on being the mercenary that he is,
- 5:31very quickly establishes himself as being very much like a hitman
- 5:37unemployed by Droid. Decker though fights back, takes
- 5:43it to his foe only to have a car for you re establishing control
- 5:50and proceeds proceeds to target the leg of the unforgettable one
- 6:03I can read my writing targets the leg of the Unforgettable 1
- 6:07is what I meant to say as the taller wrestler in this match is
- 6:14obviously brought down to size as the mercenary goes to work.
- 6:22Decker will fight back in this and whips his opponent from
- 6:27corner to corner diagonally, having McAfee in a bit of bother
- 6:35after he hits a full Nelson slam on Declan.
- 6:40It looks like he's setting up for his.
- 6:43I think it's called the hair of the dog, which is kind of like a
- 6:46pedigree. King Troy is very alert to this,
- 6:51jumps onto the ring apron, distracts Decker, and from that
- 6:57point we see Declan crawling to the far side of the ring and
- 7:05proceeds to grab a Just put that in.
- 7:16Proceeds to grab a steel chair from under the ring and hit his
- 7:23opponent square in the back trying to take out Decker and
- 7:29successfully does so, putting his leg in the folded chair and
- 7:35comes down on it, leaving Decker writhing in agony.
- 7:41Well, Roy. Roy Troy gives Declan a envelope
- 7:46of money as a payment for doing a great job.
- 7:52We then have a awkward but equally hilarious moment as
- 8:00well. Decker is being held to the
- 8:03back, Calvin Candy's ankle destroyed by Deck and Troy.
- 8:10They blast the tune One step beyond by madness.
- 8:17Obviously, Decker can hardly put any weight on one of his legs,
- 8:25but it is to signify that the banter bus have come out.
- 8:30But we were kind of laughing at how slightly insensitive that
- 8:36could have been to someone that's literally cannot walk.
- 8:41And now you're playing this. But Jeebus and Miss Rodman, who
- 8:48I was stood with. We did find that quite humorous,
- 8:52if truth be told. So we then have the banter bus
- 8:57come out as I say, and Danny proper just calls out King Troy
- 9:04as he kind of sits in his throne.
- 9:09Thank you magazine and has Danny proper calling His Highness
- 9:15quote sausage fingers, which leads to Ryan trying not to
- 9:20laugh. He he managed to stifle that it
- 9:25will be fair to say. So he says let's have A tag
- 9:31match, but obviously Troy Ryan does not have A tag partner with
- 9:37Vesper away, big team not there and McCarthy's having just had a
- 9:43match. So what we saw was another
- 9:48debut, this time in Peter Sador. He came out in his drip.
- 9:58That is Canadian are we pretty much had A tag team match with
- 10:06Danny Proper and Tom Belwell taking on King Troy and Peter
- 10:12Sedor before a punch or kick is thrown.
- 10:18In this contest we see Uncle Ryan, the third member of the
- 10:25Banter Bus. He kind of sneakily, like the
- 10:28Grinch, finds his way on the stage, grabs King Choy's crown,
- 10:36puts it on his head and has a chorus of He's our King
- 10:42bellowing through the Pendlebury Social Club, which seems to
- 10:49catch Uncle Ryan out. Because I don't think he
- 10:52expected it. Actually, I tell that, but I
- 10:55know he didn't expect that because he told me so.
- 11:00That was a nice little moment, but Match itself, I have a few
- 11:05notes. So Sedor, a couple of times in
- 11:10this contest, tags himself in, much to the amusement of Troy
- 11:17Ryan. The first time leads to Proper
- 11:23and Farewell taking over. Uncle Ryan has now stole the
- 11:30Canadian flag that Sedor brought out.
- 11:35Ryan then comes back in, sees him and Proper having a proper
- 11:41slapping meat contest as they kind of run into each other
- 11:48trying to barge the other out of the way.
- 11:52Sedor again tags himself in, tries not happy with this
- 11:58farewell and proper tag. Tom kind of loosely sneaks over,
- 12:05telling the crowd to be quiet, and upon say door turning around
- 12:11is drilled in the chin by Tom again.
- 12:19This then leads to try coming back into the contest, restoring
- 12:24the momentum for his team and begins to take it on.
- 12:30Poor Tom Seidel then runs the ropes going as fast as he can,
- 12:38which we're all expecting a big move and results in him just
- 12:42standing in front of Tom and giving him a gentle playful
- 12:47slap. We then see Tom drilling Sado
- 12:53once again in the face. Troy gets tagged back in on, but
- 13:00on this occasion it sees Farewell hitting a nail in the
- 13:04coffin kind of move. I could say Michinoku Driver but
- 13:09it looked more like the nail in the coffin.
- 13:14So this then sees Troy rolling out and has Uncle Ryan giving
- 13:20him the verbals, which was quite humorous.
- 13:26Danny proper then comes in, cleans house, nails a
- 13:29fisherman's suplex on Sador. However, he is then caught in an
- 13:36up prettier slash kill switch whichever you prefer, with Sador
- 13:43landing it successfully. Farewell then hits a big spear
- 13:48on Troy. Followers follows it up with a
- 13:52bounce off the rope lariat to Peter Sador.
- 13:57Troy then breaks up the count elbowing referee Stu Davis.
- 14:04And while this is all happening we see Sador low blowing Tom.
- 14:09Then we have a two on one against Danny Proper and while
- 14:16Troy gets a chair and looks like he's going to smash Danny's head
- 14:20in, we have Uncle Ryan trying to stop that taking place.
- 14:27He gets effectively face pied and then as it looks like Ryan
- 14:33is about to swing the chair on proper, Jack Johnson makes his
- 14:40long-awaited return, distracts Troy and leads to Danny Proper
- 14:47rolling up Peter Sador for the win.
- 14:51So we have the Banter Bus picking up the victory with
- 14:56Troy, Yorius with his partner and continues on with Jack
- 15:04Johnson grabbing the microphone, cutting an impassioned speech
- 15:12about Salford wrestling and how he wants to kind of like bring
- 15:15it up and how he is Salford wrestling.
- 15:21Even going as far to say that the crown that Troy has has
- 15:26corrupted his brain. He used to be someone that put
- 15:29all the effort in. It was all the hard work.
- 15:34And since he's become king, it's kind of completely let all the
- 15:40hard work go away and just like to do things on is as easy as he
- 15:46can with no real hard work. He then goes on, challenges
- 15:53Troy, to which King Ryan then gets the microphone himself,
- 15:59calls Johnson and Urchin, and a fawn in his side agrees to
- 16:07facing Jack Johnson again for the King of Salford.
- 16:12However, it will be done on his terms, not Jack's, and has him
- 16:19having to go through a King's gauntlet if he wants to face
- 16:24Troy one more time. More on that later on.
- 16:32So we come to match #2 sorry, match #3 I should say, as we
- 16:39have the leading man, Tony Wright against the vigilante in
- 16:45Bentley. This was one match I was really
- 16:50looking forward to and you know, it did not disappoint, if truth
- 16:55be told. So two people with very
- 17:01different move sets. Tony is all about the mechanics
- 17:07and kind of the technical side. Bentley is pretty much brute
- 17:14strength and kind of physical, go straight into things.
- 17:25So as we enter the match, it sees Bentley having the upper
- 17:29hand. At the start.
- 17:31Tony will fight back. One's a hip attack of Brett's
- 17:36rope. Bentley whipped Tony into the
- 17:40corner which sees him almost kind of bouncing straight back
- 17:45out to Bentley. Tony Yanks the leg of Bentley
- 17:51who is stood on Brett's rope and sees the vigilante kind of
- 17:58jumping off the rope and going face first into the ropes.
- 18:03This leads to the leading man having the advantage drops an
- 18:08elbow, just a good measure. A RIP cord clothesline from Tony
- 18:15sees him then beginning to target the neck and shoulder
- 18:19area of his opponent, but a neck breaker by Bentley and followed
- 18:26by a couple of kind of running blocks, shoulder blocks and then
- 18:35a crossbody from Tony is rolled into an attempted fall away slam
- 18:41from Bentley. Tony is very agile, manages to
- 18:48kind of like reverse mid air, lands on his feet and hits addt.
- 18:56Bentley then hits a float over DDT himself.
- 19:01Wright can sense that Bentley is looking for a spear, knocks him
- 19:06down to his knees, gives him a super kick to the face for a
- 19:11near fall, and then soon after coming to the back end of this
- 19:18match, Bentley catches Tony doing a super kick, then hits a
- 19:25running shin or knee to the head of Tony Wright and picks up the
- 19:32victory. However, after the match it sees
- 19:38Bentley putting his hand out in a show of sportsmanship.
- 19:43Tony looks at the hand loss like he's going to shake it and then
- 19:48decides no and takes off onto the stage loss like he's going
- 19:55to come back and have a change of heart.
- 19:58But the frustration in the match just has him continuing to walk
- 20:03through the curtain. And has Bentley not too happy,
- 20:11kind of more bemused, I'd say, over the decision of Tony to
- 20:17walk off. And he's very, very much on,
- 20:23right, like. But I'm sure we'll see how
- 20:27things pan out next time on the show.
- 20:34We then come to Natalie Sykes taking on Leah Raven again.
- 20:42The women's division in Salford is, for me, one of the most
- 20:49highly contested and really interesting storyline
- 20:55developments I've seen across the whole Salford shows over the
- 21:00last few months. We'll kind of touch on that a
- 21:04bit later, but as I say, it's Natalie Sykes and Leah Raven.
- 21:12We see Sykes starting off with the mind games, not wanting to
- 21:20kind of mix it up with Leah so early on.
- 21:26Goes outside, winds a few kids up, being very much the the the
- 21:34rule breaker that she is, but God love her.
- 21:39Both take turns having momentum swings in this contest.
- 21:45Raven. It's a lovely Hurricane Rana on
- 21:50Natalie which sends Sykes out of the ring, which pleases the
- 21:55locals. Raven is then whipped violently
- 22:00into the middle rope, where Saks proceeds to hit a drop kick to
- 22:07the back of her opponent. Saks is in control at this point
- 22:13but Raven tries to force a comeback but Saks is always kind
- 22:19of like a step ahead and cuts her off every time. 2 running
- 22:26back elbows from Sykes to Raven in opposite corners sees her
- 22:31kind of gaining more momentum in this match.
- 22:35One's a near fall but Leah is not done.
- 22:40We see Raven then fighting back, hits a close line followed by a
- 22:46sling blade before hitting a backstabber in on the ropes to
- 22:53pretty much see her coming more into this contest.
- 22:58Leah's leg is then worked upon by Sykes and sees her very
- 23:03quickly looking to capitalise on this as she hits 1/2 crab.
- 23:11Raven then takes back over and as it looks like she's going to
- 23:16hit a double armhoke or a double arm DDT, Sax very quickly rolls
- 23:25her up into a pinning attempt and picks up the victory.
- 23:31Or someone tries to message me. We then very quickly moved on to
- 23:41Lily Winter and Saxa as Saxa has the early dominance in this
- 23:49contest but Lily Winter drops her opponent head across the top
- 23:55rope and sees to begins to see this contest moving in her
- 24:02favour. Winter taunts the kids, which I
- 24:08mean on going to family shows and seeing the the rule Breakers
- 24:13winding up kids is an absolute joy, especially when the kids
- 24:17get extremely annoyed and violent but to a fine degree.
- 24:26But all it does is well, Lily is kind of like telling kids to
- 24:32shut up and kind of making like cry things.
- 24:38Saxa rolls her up. But only gets. 2:00 But she is
- 24:44soon back down on the mat as Lily regains control.
- 24:50Saxa fights back, hits a tornado DDT which gets a near fall.
- 24:58She then hits a I've said a Sax 19.
- 25:04It was set back to a 619 but I thought I would change it.
- 25:09She goes to try it again but gets a big boot to the chops.
- 25:14Winter then pulls referee Reece in the way as Saxa looks to
- 25:21spear the cold one. Winter then hits.
- 25:26Frostbite on Saxa, but the referee is down and Winter then
- 25:33gets a bit overconfident, goes over to the stage area, grabs
- 25:40the phone of Natalie Sykes which is still there and sees her
- 25:46going to hit Saxa with it. Saxon kicks her in the gut,
- 25:51Winter drops the phone. Saxon then picks up the phone,
- 25:56uses it against her opponent and takes a cheeky selfie.
- 26:03This all leads to Saxon hitting the 619, or as I'm calling it,
- 26:08the Sax 19, and leads to a win over Lily Winter.
- 26:15So the two. Matches the two women's matches
- 26:22they they have tried to entwine almost feels these four women
- 26:29over the last couple of shows because if you recall last
- 26:35October November for the coronation show, it saw Lily
- 26:44Winter taking on Alfie for the Queen of Salford.
- 26:50And unfortunately for Lily, she did not beat Alfie.
- 26:55She lost and Lily still holds. Natalie Sykes practically blames
- 27:04her for the defeat, and ever since then we've seen this.
- 27:11Kind of. Alliance they had falling apart
- 27:22with every shell that goes by, but now it's become a case of
- 27:28almost like a friendly rivalry of 1 upswomanship to which we've
- 27:40had I think Winter beat Raven and then I think Saxa beat
- 27:48Sykes. So they're almost trying to one
- 27:52up the other person. And again.
- 27:57This all four of these women are going to be part of A tag team
- 28:03match on the next show at friend or foe.
- 28:09So we're going to have another case of all these four women
- 28:16entwined yet again as we look towards having this tournament
- 28:22that we are meant to be having for the Women's Championship.
- 28:28And again this belt that Salford have produced is easily one of
- 28:34my favourite belts anywhere. We then come to your main event
- 28:41which was a six man tag with Connor Patrick Riley with the
- 28:48bigger picture in Nischke and Mighty Joe Young as they took on
- 28:55the team of the Zumba weights in Philip Michael and Jack Baron
- 29:01and their partner in Alex Boiling.
- 29:07The amount of. Notes I actually have is quite
- 29:11ridiculous. So we start with the fight
- 29:16spilling all over the venue. Effectively we've have Baron and
- 29:24Young fighting at the back of the room and then end up
- 29:29fighting at the bar. I think Baron and Young almost
- 29:36looking like they were trying to get a drink, which they weren't,
- 29:41but it looked like that. Boiling chops.
- 29:44Riley on the outside by the ring apron.
- 29:49Michael and Niski fight right near the stage area.
- 29:55And this goes on for a good kind of like 3-4 minutes of this
- 30:00contest. We finally get the action in the
- 30:05ring and we see our first of the Jurassic stumps as Nishki is in
- 30:13the ring with the Zuba weights. Both Philip Michael and Jack
- 30:18Baron stand on the fingers of Nishki as Nishki having been
- 30:24stood on gives it the T Rex. And then we have Joe Young
- 30:31suffering the same fate, before we have Michael and Nischke
- 30:36fighting yet again, before we have Baron and Young and it's
- 30:43utter carnage yet again. All fight all, All of them fight
- 30:50Back near the stage area. We see the match beginning to
- 30:57properly settle down as we have the bigger picture and Riley
- 31:05taking control in this wild brawl of a contest.
- 31:12Zuba weights are very slow to get back to their corner as they
- 31:18have. Pretty much.
- 31:21Stopped at the hands of the bigger picture.
- 31:26Boiling definitely needs to tag out at this point.
- 31:31The zuba weights thankfully compose themselves and have
- 31:36recovered. Boyling gets the tag with Philip
- 31:40Michael I believe it was, but ref Sue Davis does not see this
- 31:47because it is a blind tag in his opinion.
- 31:51Eventually though Philip Michael gets the hot tag, hits a bulldog
- 31:58and attempts an acid drop. But Young fights out and we see
- 32:04both men having the same idea and we have a double
- 32:09clothesline. Baron then gets tagged in and he
- 32:14hits a well. He plays house effectively back
- 32:19and forth runs 2 diagonal corners with splashes and
- 32:25running back forearms to the bigger picture.
- 32:31He then hits a buff blockbuster of Brett's rope to get a near
- 32:35fall. Young hits a bookend as I've
- 32:40called it on Baron Boiling, then comes back in and nails Connor
- 32:46with a spine Buster. A Bigger Picture hit a double
- 32:51team move which is a drop kick slash kind of front face DDT
- 32:58that only gets a near fall the zuba weights.
- 33:02Then it's a code breaker slash code red combo.
- 33:07Boiling hits a pile driver, but Riley comes in to stop the count
- 33:14and also it's a running knee into the back of Boiling's head
- 33:20with all the mess that's going on in the ring.
- 33:25Riley then hits a second running knee to the back of Alex
- 33:31Foylan's head and that is all she wrote.
- 33:36Victory goes to Connor, Patrick, Riley and the bigger pitcher.
- 33:43They revel in their victory and that's practically how we end
- 33:52this show with the bad guys taking the victory.
- 34:02This wasn't absolutely insane. Main event.
- 34:10You, you. I was going to say you couldn't
- 34:12take your eyes off it, but you could because there was so much
- 34:16going on. The crowd, again, the crowd
- 34:22lapped things up massively. A brawl to start it and a brawl
- 34:29to kind of like end it as well. If truth be told, this was a
- 34:35whole lot of fun. I get the.
- 34:39Feeling. See these six men come to odds
- 34:46again. We definitely will with a couple
- 34:51of people, which we will touch on in a very brief moment.
- 34:57But yes, this, this was a really good match.
- 35:05Again, utter chaos, which I'm here for, and despite it not
- 35:15being what the fans wanted to see in the end, I feel it does
- 35:20help set things up on future shows.
- 35:23So I'm I'm all about kind of like what is going to transpire.
- 35:33But all that said, that is the end of that particular show and
- 35:40as I mentioned earlier, the next offering is on June the 5th.
- 35:48Friend or foe again at the Pendlebury Social Club.
- 35:54But if you do not have a ticket, you will not get in because it
- 35:59is a sell out for the ninth time and keeps up their 100% record
- 36:07of being a sold out. Promotion.
- 36:13So the matches we have as of recording.
- 36:19Is. Tony Wright against Nishki, Lily
- 36:25Winter and Natalie Sykes taking on Saxa and Leah Raven that I
- 36:32feel is going to add more meat onto the bone in terms of where
- 36:40we're going to go with the Women's Championship tournament
- 36:46down the line. A surprising match with the Zuba
- 36:51weight against Banter Bus, which should be a whole lot of fun.
- 36:57We have Jack Johnson going up against Jensen Vespa in what I
- 37:05take is going to be the opening match of The King's Gauntlet.
- 37:10Again, if Johnson beats Vespa then he will continue in this
- 37:16gauntlet to help set up a match against Troy Ryan and one that
- 37:23isn't setting stone. But I feel it's where they are
- 37:28going with it and that is Mighty Joe Young and Alex Boylan.
- 37:37I say that's where they're going with it due to Young cutting a
- 37:42promo on boiling, so I will be very surprised if that is not
- 37:48the route we go down. But it's definitely a very good
- 37:57looking card. A couple of matches I am very
- 38:01interested to see. One the.
- 38:07Zuba Ways and Banter books could be a whole lot of fun, but yes
- 38:12we may get one more match added I feel.
- 38:19But considering. It's a sellout crowd, they don't
- 38:22particularly have to push a extra match.
- 38:28But yeah, I am. Really looking forward to the
- 38:31next Salford show again. I think I put it down as one of
- 38:38my favourite promotions last year.
- 38:41Just missed the cup for promotion of the year from last
- 38:49from last year but they produce so many great shows.
- 38:59Mine suddenly gone blank. But yeah.
- 39:03This is the 9th show. As I've mentioned, 9 sell outs
- 39:08so not 2. Shabby.
- 39:10Something to be proud of is Salford City Wrestling, and all
- 39:17it continues to do is to get better and better and better,
- 39:23and I think 2026 could even be better than it has from the
- 39:30previous years. It's only going to get better,
- 39:33really. Take a drink every time I say
- 39:38the word better and you'll be on your backside.
- 39:43That said, that is the end of this particular review.
- 39:50That was Salford City Wrestling Uprising.
- 39:55Next show is June 5th. Friend or foe, I cannot wait.
- 40:01I have been pets brothers. Thank you for listening and
- 40:06giving me your time. Again, a very short show, which
- 40:12is. What you're going to?
- 40:15Get when it's a one man show but for now at least if you're going
- 40:21to a show I hope you have a good time and also if you do go try
- 40:31not to be a Dick because we don't like Dicks.
- 40:35But other than that I will see you very soon because we should
- 40:43have a non wrestling review and hopefully that will be tomorrow.
- 40:51But. Thank you for listening
- 40:54watching. I've got this out of visual form
- 40:57and good night.
