- 0:01Hey man, we back again. I was hoping to debut the new studio.
- 0:06It's it's it's kind of halfway there. Y'all kind of can see that
- 0:09my setup is a little different, but I had a little bit of technical
- 0:13difficulties. Easier me, So we back grounded show episode seventy two, back
- 0:21with the full lineup. My dog Joe is officially backing the Oh you're hearing
- 0:26me? The Rock's come back to the to be back. It was good
- 0:36to be back, b So it was. It was a long trip along
- 0:41a long list of things to do, but it was done. Everything checked
- 0:45off. Now I'm here for the cars, waiting for my stuff, and
- 0:54I'm happy to be back though, that's for sure. So you're pretty much
- 0:57born and raised in Orlando and then you moved out to Vegas for three years
- 1:02and you're coming back like you saying how happy you are? Like did you
- 1:06feel like it was time? Like were you ready to come back? Like,
- 1:08well, what was the yeah? There it was. Actually I grew
- 1:11up on the West Coast. I grew up in California Bay Area until I
- 1:18was ten, but since I was ten years old, I moved here to
- 1:23the East Side and I spent thirty six years of my life here in the
- 1:32same five al radius elementary school, middle school, high school, college.
- 1:38My jobs all right here, right around UCF, so I never went anywhere.
- 1:44And then, you know, wife, these parents were living in Vegas,
- 1:47I was working Remo. It was COVID and I was like, yo,
- 1:51let me just go out there and see what's good to see if I
- 1:53can work out there. And then it was just such a easy thing to
- 1:59just transition, and I said, fuck it. But which is crazy,
- 2:01because so we when we moved here in ninety four, we drove here from
- 2:07Cali with all our stuff in a trailer in a little Chevy course to go
- 2:10sedan and it was a hell of a troop where we broke down in a
- 2:15couple of states because the car overheated. But it was a troop. So
- 2:19when I moved over there, my parents didn't want me to drive or anything.
- 2:23So I got everything shipped, so the same thing, I shipped everything
- 2:28back. But I can tell you right now that's it. I'm never moving
- 2:34across the country again. Bro Ever, my wife's like, what if one
- 2:38day we went back. I said, hey, you on your own,
- 2:39chief, stay over here. It's a lot of work that we were across
- 2:46the country man, and I'm grateful with the experience, though like I said,
- 2:51I've always wanted to live somewhere else, I never had the boss to
- 2:53do it. I'm super thankful for her and the opportunity I had. But
- 3:00there's nothing, absolutely nothing like being here, being around my people, being
- 3:04around my fam. It feels like I never left. Like I went golfing
- 3:08earlier with the fellas, and it's crazy how three years ago it was my
- 3:15last time golfing with them before I moved, and here we are, three
- 3:19years later, the first golf session of many to come, and it's just
- 3:23it was like a blink of an eye, but during it it felt like
- 3:27forever. And it's crazy how life is and how time passes and how quick
- 3:31it is and how much it changed me. But that's the kind of things
- 3:38that we'll continue to say, Bill character, and I think it changed me
- 3:42for the best. It was something that was needed. I needed to leave
- 3:45here for a while, and now that I'm back, I get a start
- 3:49over how I want and rewrite my story here and started from scratching, and
- 3:54every and everybody gets to see how it's going to turn out. So it
- 4:00was all around life changing experience for sure, something that we were talking about
- 4:05before, and it was kind of based off of what you were saying in
- 4:08the group chat where it was like, when you do something like this,
- 4:12it's almost impossible for it not to be a huge change, like not even
- 4:15just physically, you know what I mean, like kind of like you said,
- 4:18across country, the change that it does to your body. You're in
- 4:21a different part of the map, Like there's like a lot of other little
- 4:27factors working in there where it's like the situation that you're coming into is like
- 4:30a monumental thing, just based off the circumstances, if that makes any sense.
- 4:38No, like age time, you know ya. No, I've come
- 4:43here a lot to visit and for work while I lived out there, and
- 4:47my mentality with everything involved was that I have a limited amount of time here.
- 4:54I'm consistently worrying about getting back, and now that's completely gone. You
- 5:00know, I'm here forever pretty much, and I'm not in the back of
- 5:04my head it's like, all right, when do I have to go back
- 5:06fly home and get back to my shit, Like my shit's here, So
- 5:12my whole mind state of me being here is completely different than it's been for
- 5:16four years since when I lived here before, and getting back to that,
- 5:20it's like, I live here, so it's like we need we needed like
- 5:25sponge or sow or this and that, and my wife's like, oh,
- 5:29we didn't have let's go buy it because we don't have to fly home with
- 5:31it. We're going to keep it here because we live here. And it's
- 5:35like everything we're missing we can just go by. It's not like, oh,
- 5:39let's not waste money on something because we have it back home. It's
- 5:43like, now that we are home, let's go buy what we need because
- 5:46we're here and we need to establish it here. And it's just a completely
- 5:49different mindset that I have not been in in years, and at this age
- 5:56and at this point in my life, where I think like this and process
- 5:59starts like this, I have not I've never done this before. And I've
- 6:03lived here and I've been here and I visited, but I have never had
- 6:06to think like this ever, especially with a wife here and living here.
- 6:13So it's completely new to me despite it being where I live for thirty for
- 6:18twenty six years. It's just it's almost like like less. It says when
- 6:24There's a lot of stuff I don't sit and think about, but this is
- 6:27something I sit and think about, and I'm like, this is crazy.
- 6:30Like I just consistently like just sit there and kind of days off. I'm
- 6:33like, Wow, this this is something I've never done before. But I'm
- 6:38excited about We're both excited about it. We're both looking forward to it,
- 6:43and we're just kind of anxious to see how it's all going to turn out
- 6:46and how life is going to be. But we're positive and we're excited.
- 6:48So it's a good thing. But it's different. It's like I said,
- 6:51it's it's something brand new to me despite it being something I'm used to.
- 6:58Yo, Quincy, how does that hit you, particularly from the point of
- 7:01view of like you're kind of young in the process that Joe just completed,
- 7:06you know what I mean. Like he moved, he moved somewhere new,
- 7:11was out there for a while, then moved back. You're kind of young
- 7:14in that process of like you move somewhere new, establishing your life out there.
- 7:18Like, so, like, how do you react to what he says
- 7:20and how does it kind of like relate to like the stage you're at in
- 7:24your situation. I think it's dope to see. I know, Like for
- 7:27me, you know, one of the things that I you know, have
- 7:30battled internally is like, you know, even when I've had those conversations with
- 7:33Joe, it's like, you know, he's going back to, you know,
- 7:39a comfortable place as far as just his relationships. You know, he
- 7:42was able to get up this morning and and go play golf with his old
- 7:44homies. You know what I'm saying. It's like I personally battle with that
- 7:47now being where I'm at where it's like all my homies, but then at
- 7:53the on the other side of it, it's like you know, I know,
- 7:56for me, when I took my road trip back into sixteen twenty seventeen,
- 8:01that was like my eye opening experience where it was like, you know,
- 8:05you know, you're cutting in and out. Can you hear me?
- 8:07I mean, we could hear you just cutting in and out. It sounds
- 8:11like you're on the Merry go around, and you're like, that's well basically
- 8:18like you know, for me, like you know, when I went on
- 8:20that road trip, it really showed me like, hey, you know,
- 8:24there's more to life than Orlando. You know what I'm saying, is it
- 8:26still doing it. No, No, you're good. Now, Oh okay,
- 8:28there was more to life than Orlando. So like, you know,
- 8:33me being on the front end of that journey is like, you know,
- 8:35just trying to kind of figure that out, you know what I'm saying,
- 8:37because you know, the easy route would have been to just kind of stay,
- 8:41you know what I'm saying. But you know, it's like, let
- 8:45me kind of see what's out here, and you know, if I want
- 8:46to come back, you know, I'll come back. But I think it's
- 8:50dope that you had that experience, you know what I'm saying, and you
- 8:52were able to kind of make that decision where it was like, you know,
- 8:56I lived in Vegas. I did everything you can do in Vegas and
- 9:00enjoyed it, you know, and you know, like, I had that
- 9:03life experience, and I'm coming back to Orlando where I'm you know, more
- 9:07comfortable and where my people are and where I know that I'll have a better
- 9:11quality of life from that standpoint. You know, that's that's dope, you
- 9:15know what I'm saying. At the end of the day, you had that
- 9:16experience, so it's like no one can say anything about you coming back,
- 9:20you know what I mean. It's like I went out, I lived,
- 9:24and you know, I decided this is where I want to be. Okay.
- 9:26Cool. I always think about that concept always from the point of view
- 9:31like my boy Kevin that went to the Navy, like right after high school,
- 9:35you know what I mean. I think about so many people that do
- 9:37stuff like that, and kind of like what Joe said, that's exactly what
- 9:41I wanted to get to, was like you kind of come back and everything
- 9:46is like right where you left it. You pick up right where you left
- 9:48off. Like it's like the routine is always going to be there, you
- 9:52know what I mean. And if you're if you're finding a way to thrive
- 9:56in the routine and you don't crave that change, do your thing. But
- 10:01some people, you know what I mean, you got to you gotta experience
- 10:03other places. You gotta confirm to yourself that this is a place where you
- 10:09need to be. And it's taking that leap, you know what I mean,
- 10:11Like sometimes you take that leap. It's it's it's how I always approach
- 10:15like anything that I do as far as like even if I don't feel like
- 10:18I'm up to it certain times, like for example, recording skateboarding anything,
- 10:24I'm always try to take something away from it, even if it's knowing how
- 10:28not to do it, you know what I mean. So it's like unless
- 10:31you you know, you gotta double your failures to double your successes, you
- 10:35know what I mean, There's no way that if you're not trying shit and
- 10:39not seeing exploring different options and seeing what works for you or don't work for
- 10:43you, where you thrive at, where you don't thrive at. And it's
- 10:46like factoring all that stuff together to try to make the most informed decision to
- 10:52you know, be as happy as you can be. And it's like that's
- 10:54like a part of like being in relationships, like not even just with a
- 11:00spouse, but like just in general. That I kind of feel like is
- 11:03like one very noticeable thing about certain people that don't have too many healthy relationships.
- 11:11They always try to like make their people around them live a life like
- 11:16in line with what they're in line with, you know what I mean.
- 11:18It's like and they really they just don't want to understand that you live a
- 11:22different way, you know what I mean. That That's something big, bro,
- 11:28That's something big that I discussed with with one of my one of my
- 11:33close friends and it's like if the person that left when I went to Vegas,
- 11:41it's nothing who I am today. So if we haven't really talked or
- 11:46hung out in the last three years, I feel like you don't know me
- 11:54anymore, you know. For those who I really haven't kept who haven't kept
- 11:56up with me, whoever really know what's going on, and they think I'm
- 12:00coming back as that person who left in twenty nineteen, twenty twenty, It's
- 12:03like, that's not me, bro, And there's a lot of people who
- 12:07are gonna who are not gonna like that. And I don't know how to
- 12:11tell people that, like respectfully, Like there's no obligations for me to if
- 12:16we haven't seen each other talk in the last three years, there's no obligation
- 12:20for me to see you or talk to you in the next three years.
- 12:24While I'm here, I've grown, I've changed mentally, my priorities, the
- 12:31way I acted, you know, and it's different, and I'm not that
- 12:35person anymore. And that's I think that's one of my barriers that I'm actually
- 12:39gonna have to deal with the most is just saying no to people. And
- 12:45I don't feel like I got to explain myself and not doing the shit I
- 12:48used to do before. And that's one of the biggest transitions we're gonna have
- 12:52to make because I've changed and that these last three years changed me so much
- 12:58that I give a fuck less about how people feel who are in my circle
- 13:05and don't care anymore. And it's it's that's something I think about a lot
- 13:11too, like I'm not that same person man, like that that those three
- 13:15years changed me a lot, and for the best, for sure, you
- 13:18know what I thinks. No, it's just something I'm gonna have transition to
- 13:24while I'm here. For sure. What I was gonna say is, you
- 13:26know what I think is the dopest thing about like actually being away for a
- 13:30little while, because for me, it's been about almost two years now since
- 13:33I've been out of Orlando, and you know, just kind of going to
- 13:35your point of like those people that you haven't really communicated with since you've been
- 13:39away, it's like, you know, I see that as situational relationship,
- 13:45you know what I'm saying. It's like, you know, my proximity of
- 13:48me being in that area or us being around each other for whatever reason,
- 13:52is why we had a relationship. And once I left there was really not
- 13:56much stit more there, you know what I'm saying, And like actually being
- 14:01able to step away and give yourself that space gives you that clarity, you
- 14:05know what I'm saying on what relationships to prioritize and what relationships to you know,
- 14:11keep where they are. And I think that's kind of one of the
- 14:13most refreshing things that, like, you know, how you just spoke about
- 14:16it, Like if I was to go back to Orlando, I know there's
- 14:20some relationships where you know, it just wouldn't be the same because it's like
- 14:26it didn't you know what I'm saying. It didn't last when I wasn't here,
- 14:28So why would I, you know, prioritize it when I'm here?
- 14:31You know. Yeah. I always feel like it's like one of those things
- 14:35that as you continue to like value life more and you continue to prioritize your
- 14:41life more, just things just fall by the wayside and if our paths don't
- 14:46cross, our paths don't cross, and that's it is what it is,
- 14:48you know. I Mean that's kind of just how I deal with it myself.
- 14:52Like I don't think it's anything that I'm doing wrong. I don't think
- 14:56it's anything you doing wrong. It's just if our paths don't cross paths on
- 15:00across. You know, it's kind of like I said, like we know
- 15:03when you when you mess with somebody, it's like that you you accept them
- 15:07for what they are and what they do, and your lives intersect at those
- 15:13opportunities where it can intersect, you know what I mean. If you're in
- 15:16a different space that somebody can't intersect with what you on, then that's just
- 15:20as what it is, what it is, you know what I mean?
- 15:24Yeah, And that's one thing I talked about today. Golfing with the homie
- 15:28is like it SPIKEE me living in Vegas for the last three years. Like
- 15:33for example, you guys, you guys have met my wife multiple times,
- 15:35you know, despite me living in Vegas, Spike living in Atlanta. So
- 15:41if I've been known her for four years, married for three years, and
- 15:43you've never met her and we haven't hung out in like six seven years,
- 15:50why would I just bring you into my life? Like you know, what
- 15:54obligation do happen? I think as I think a lot of people do that
- 15:58and they set themselves us up for stress and like they overwhelmed themselves people pleasing.
- 16:04It's like, I'm not I'm not doing that. That's something that I
- 16:07really want to focus on not doing. Coming back to the something I spoke
- 16:12to my wife about, it's like, I really want to be smart about
- 16:17anybody new, why bring into my life because everybody who's in my life she's
- 16:21met personally face to face multiple times. And I'm not going to bring someone
- 16:26out of nowhere just because we used to be cool back in the day.
- 16:32And that's that's a balance someone. That's probably my biggest balance coming back for
- 16:36sure. Share that that's a big thing, man, that people pleasing and
- 16:41just kind of letting that go, like in general with everybody is like just
- 16:47always going to be such a huge relief because you get into the cycle and
- 16:49everybody gets everybody gets it. You know with certain people where they just want
- 16:53to be don't They don't want to be the bad guy so much that you
- 16:57end up being the bad guy to yourself without really even noticing, you know
- 17:02what I mean, Like all of a sudden, you're the one that suffering
- 17:03at every turn because you're trying to make sure everybody else is straight. And
- 17:07it's like nobody even told you to do that. You know what I'm saying,
- 17:11Some people we just take these tasks on ourselves, and then internally you
- 17:15mad at people for not appreciating what you're doing when it's like they never asked
- 17:21for you to do that anyway, you know what I mean. And it's
- 17:23like that's why, like it's so important to connect with the people that have
- 17:27that same kind of value that you have, because if you see that somebody
- 17:32is not on the same type of time you want, you just got to
- 17:34accept it and move accordingly, Like, oh, Okay, you're not my
- 17:37type of person. It don't mean you bad. It don't mean I'm bad.
- 17:41You're just not my type of person. It don't mean we not cool.
- 17:44It don't mean there's an issue. You're just not my type of person.
- 17:47It's just that simple, right shoes. Hey man, speaking of people
- 17:52pleasing, how did my dog say thirty years ago? The stuff got something
- 17:59to say and dropped an album and didn't say a single word please me.
- 18:06Now, I'm just playing that album was pretty dope. I'm not eve gonna
- 18:07flex with you. So I was reading online, like some producer pages and
- 18:11stuff, and they're all basically saying, well, all he did was drop
- 18:15a loop pack for the producers. You know, all the next beats is
- 18:21going to be coming out the next couple of months, is gonna be Andre
- 18:22three thousand flu samples. Bro's crazy. That's the perfect segue to it,
- 18:29though, And I think that's it. He's you know, he's at this
- 18:33point in my life where he's not three stacks no more. Mm hmm.
- 18:37He can't get back to that, and this is who he is. And
- 18:41he's putting something out hoping that whoever accepts it accepted. But this is who
- 18:45he is. Like I've seen something that they say he can't rap like he
- 18:48was in out Cast ever again, because he's not that personal one that you
- 18:52gotta see that. Yeah I did. Yeah, I mean, you know,
- 18:57just from the interview that I saw, you know, it was a
- 19:00I'm glad he did that interview. And even with him doing that interview,
- 19:03he basically said in the interview that like, you know, I don't even
- 19:08really want to do this, you know what I'm saying, But at the
- 19:11same time I kind of got to because like, you know, this is
- 19:15part of presenting the music, you know what I mean. He's like,
- 19:18if it was up to me, and he even say that he was like,
- 19:21I got anonymous flute samples out there right now that's under a different name
- 19:25that nobody even knows it's me, and there's in some of your favorite songs.
- 19:29But I just told him to keep it anonymous, you know what I
- 19:30mean. And so it's like when you kind of take that's what I was
- 19:37thinking. I was like, well, I got to be him a mask
- 19:38off. That was a sample. I was a sample. Okay, he
- 19:42said it was him. Who wasn't no idea who is that? I don't
- 19:47know the mask off? Like an old song or who was it that produced
- 19:52that song. They came out and said that it was him, but you
- 19:56don't know allegedly. But at the same time, it was a sample.
- 20:00But maybe they had him replay it, you know what I'm saying. Sometimes
- 20:02they'll have you replay it so they don't have to pay the royalties and stuff.
- 20:06Mm hmm, So that it could have it could have been him,
- 20:08You never know. I mean, man, I'm just kind of like fascinated
- 20:12with how like it's like it's almost like I I just like seeing him work
- 20:22through it because he's like so tormented about it. I feel like, you
- 20:25know what I mean. And that's the part that, like every interview that
- 20:27I see one hundred two thousand is the part that's always super intriguing to me.
- 20:32It's like just kind of getting in his mind of like as a creative
- 20:36as somebody that has put out masterpieces where his headspaces, as far as like
- 20:41creating in the form that like really like his first love. You know what
- 20:45I'm saying, the music like, it's just like as an artist, bro,
- 20:48it's super fascinating to me. Man, yeah, I agree, you
- 20:55know, And I will be the one to say I was talking Hella Hella
- 20:59John about you know, when I found out about the Flu album, but
- 21:03you know, I did give it a listen, and it's actually, you
- 21:06know, pretty nice. It's like I read online somewhere that somebody said,
- 21:10you know, it was a nice cleanse from what we've been listening to,
- 21:14and I was like, man, that's that's a great way to put it,
- 21:15because it was just super like refreshing. And then on top of that,
- 21:21you know, most people expecting or looking for some kind of hip hop
- 21:25from Andre three thousand and hearing what they got it was like not just surprising,
- 21:30but almost like a WUSA moment. You know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 21:34Yeah, it's a therapeutic sound. And it's like just just having people
- 21:40check it out puts them in a different kind of mind state. It settles
- 21:44your mind in a certain way as opposed to listening to hip hop, you
- 21:47know what I mean. And it's definitely a different kind of vibe that he's
- 21:49trying to bring, you know what I mean. And that's like, like
- 21:52I was saying, that's the interesting part to me, is like trying to
- 21:56kind of figure out like where he's thinking as far as I mean, what
- 22:00he's thinking as far as like creating and what's next for him creating wise is
- 22:04and thinking about what he can do like to satisfy us and his own artistic
- 22:11vision, you know what I mean. Because like even in that interview he
- 22:14was saying, like what I'm gonna talk about like having to go get checked
- 22:18out at the doctor and stuff like that, Like I'm old whatever. It's
- 22:21like bruh, Andre three thousand talking about growing up dog Like that would be
- 22:26my bag right now, thanks, you know what I'm saying, Like some
- 22:30grown man Andre three thousand, Like Dog I would be I'll be riding to
- 22:36that all day long, like that's like, that's what I like about Jake
- 22:40Cole, you know what I mean, Like his music matures with him and
- 22:42like you, like I tell a lot of like young dudes that I know,
- 22:47like you just you ain't lived enough for this yet, you know what
- 22:49I'm saying, Like they're in a different stage, like when you're in your
- 22:52early twenties, mid twenties. Like a lot of that Jake Cole ain't gonna
- 22:56hit like it's gonna hit later because he's coming from like a life experience standpoint.
- 23:00You know what I'm saying. He's an older dude too, dropping his
- 23:03music and go ahead. Now, I was just gonna say, if anybody
- 23:08could make some old man rapers on undreds two thousand, bro, I mean,
- 23:11yeah, his level of storytelling is ridiculous. But what I was gonna
- 23:17say was, I didn't know until I saw that interview that Speakerbox The Love
- 23:21Below is the highest uh selling rap album of all time. I didn't know
- 23:26that. And so to go from that to yeah, to go from that
- 23:33to being able to basically walk around and play a flute like real talk,
- 23:38like you know what I mean, that's that's impressive within itself where it's like
- 23:45people recognize him, but he's been going so long that they're like, is
- 23:48that is that? You know what I mean? And for him, like
- 23:52you know, if I'm just kind of comparing next to the Joe thing,
- 23:55you know what I'm saying, Like you come back four or five years later,
- 23:59you're not on the same thing. You don't care about the stats,
- 24:00you you know what I'm saying. I'm here with my wife. I'm on
- 24:03peace, you know what I'm saying. And it's like it's really really dope
- 24:06to kind of see that growth and maturity in him, you know, as
- 24:10artists and and and accepting it. He's accepting. He's not he's not putting
- 24:15it out to regain his old fans, to regain that love and admiration people
- 24:21have for three stacks when he was you know, like that. He doesn't
- 24:25care about that. He's this is what I am. This is what I'm
- 24:27putting up now. Probably could care less of the sales and the and the
- 24:32and the wars and the accolades. I bet he feels great that he was
- 24:37able to put something out that he loves and that's it, and that's where
- 24:41it ends. And he's himself and he's true to himself. That's that's a
- 24:45dope. That's a dope thing to grasp as you get older all around in
- 24:49life, man, everybody needs to reach that point where they're just doing it
- 24:53for themselves. A lot of people still not doing that that are older than
- 24:57him or or getting there. You know, they don't do it for themselves.
- 25:02They do it for everybody else but themselves. That's that's something to grab,
- 25:07that's something good to live by. Yeah, it's kind of crazy,
- 25:10man, because like that's a perfect transition to the next topic. Because you
- 25:14got somebody like Andre three thousand that's in this you know, late forties early
- 25:18fifties age range, a hip hop person that we've grown up with, a
- 25:23crucial part of that golden era nineties two thousands, and he went in that
- 25:30direction to piece. He kind of stepped away from the limelight and everything.
- 25:33And then you got somebody that was popping at the same time in Diddy,
- 25:37that was just on a whole other type of time. Man. Like we've
- 25:41all heard like all different like Diddy rumors that always go around, but somehow
- 25:48these rumors are new bro like the stuff that I mean, it's it's not
- 25:53a rumor it's an allegation. So these allegations from Cassie Bro these are things
- 25:59that like as far as like hip hop circles and just like general knowledge of
- 26:03the public and people that keep up with hip hop like that, Like,
- 26:07these are things that nobody really knew about, you know what I'm saying,
- 26:11blowing up Kid Cutty his car allegedly. Yeah, it's good a quick rundown
- 26:15to some of the allegations that are Yeah, let me let me pull it
- 26:22up real quick. Matter of fact, give me one second. It started
- 26:26with Cassie, right, Yeah, it was Cassie, which is a bad
- 26:32boy artist. You know, everybody, if you follow music, you definitely
- 26:36know who Cassie is and did he and they were kind of like a thing
- 26:38for like ten years or so. But while it's definitely crazy, I'm about
- 26:47to pull it up, right, we getting today? You know what's kind
- 26:49of funny before any of this came out, It's new album How We Changed.
- 26:55He changed his name to like Love right love Love something yep, just
- 27:02Love Brother Love, I think, or just Love Brother Love. When I
- 27:06actually listened to this album, I felt like I was listening to like Life
- 27:10after Death. Like he was like kind of saying his goodbye, like his
- 27:18exit, and I thought, Okay, maybe it might be his exit from
- 27:21the game because he's been doing so much. But now that I think about
- 27:25it, it's like maybe he knew the time was coming, like with the
- 27:29Tupac allegations. That's where it started, the Tupac allegations and the Cassie allegations,
- 27:34and like there's a song he's like try to find love and the pieces
- 27:40of me that's left something like that, Like it's like there's nothing left in
- 27:44Diddy no more. Like it's he's like I'm done, this is it.
- 27:47And that's how I listened to it before I heard anything, and then this
- 27:51comes out and it's like it kind of just sums up like I think he
- 27:53knew the end of what's coming. Yeah, it's it's definitely like like you
- 28:00said, even like during his rollout, it was kind of like he was
- 28:04trying to like collect his flowers type thing, you know what I mean,
- 28:07Like and like you said, like one last Hurrah type vibe. And you
- 28:12know, the main thing that I wanted to say about it is oh,
- 28:15and actually, you know, just to bring like bring up some of the
- 28:18allegations and of course these are just allegations. They ended up settling the suit,
- 28:22which was a civil suit so it wasn't criminal anyway. But basically she
- 28:29said that he would force her to have sex with male prostitutes while he watched
- 28:33and videotaped it, that he would beat her, that whenever he would find
- 28:38out that she was like you know, she would leave him or talk to
- 28:41somebody else, she would he would, you know, go stalk her.
- 28:45Just saying that he would beat her to the point where she would have to
- 28:48like stay in a hotel for a week to like recover. I mean,
- 28:52it's like a whole bunch of crazy stuff. And the crazy, like the
- 28:56wildest thing to me is all the quote unquote industry insiders that want to have
- 29:03like this kind of thing where they come out and say, oh, like
- 29:06we been knew that or like now these little stories are coming out and it's
- 29:08like, okay, so you're just basically coming out and saying you a coward.
- 29:14You know what I'm saying, What does it benefit anybody for you to
- 29:18bring this up now when you could assess something when you've seen it, or
- 29:22you know what I'm saying, whatever the situation is, And it's like it's
- 29:26that music industry stuff. Did he somebody that's a powerful person in the music
- 29:30He's in touch with those top five people you know that you need to know
- 29:34in music that just make or break if your project is successful or not.
- 29:40If he ain't messing with you, nobody's messing with you. And at the
- 29:44end of the day, people not going to give up their personal gain and
- 29:48the dream that they trying to live or whatever for something like that. And
- 29:52to me, this is real crazy. That's why I like somebody like me.
- 29:56When it comes to the industry industry side, I try to stay away
- 29:59from that as much as possible because there's a way to make it in music
- 30:03in a different lane. And it's even like tying back to the one hundred
- 30:07three thousand things. He did, what he loved, he put it out.
- 30:11It's gonna do what it does, and he's gonna make some money off
- 30:12of it. People are gonna sample it. He's gonna make money clearing samples.
- 30:18He's gonna make money on with the streams. People are gonna start adopting
- 30:22it, and they're probably yoga classes and stuff like that. You know what
- 30:25I'm saying. That thing is gonna become a mainstay in the culture anyway,
- 30:30just because of what it is, and there's value in music like that,
- 30:33Like people don't think about it, but some dope background music. Bro,
- 30:36there's so many uses to that that those songs get mad streams, but you
- 30:40don't think about it as a stream because it's not a song to you,
- 30:42you know what I mean. So it's just it's crazy like the angle you
- 30:48could take, you know what I'm saying, Like you can try to conquer
- 30:52the world and lose your soul and you know, so to speak, or
- 30:56you take the hundred three thousand row where you're like, you know what,
- 30:59I'm gonna choose to choose this piece. Yeah, I mean from the standpoint
- 31:07of the whole Diddy situation, man, you know, I feel like it
- 31:11was kind of like a bubbling up, you know what I mean, Like
- 31:15everybody kind of saw random allegations coming out here and there, and then you
- 31:18know, obviously that those allegations from Cassie was kind of just like the nail
- 31:25in the coffin, and you know, even the speed at which he settled
- 31:29was kind of like, oh, I don't look good, you know what
- 31:32I mean, Like that looks really bad. You know, but I mean
- 31:37again, you know, going to what you said, you know, he
- 31:38went down a totally different half, stayed in the limelight. You know,
- 31:44he chose the the I guess, the money and fame route over the peaceful
- 31:48route. And I mean, you know he's where he is, and you
- 31:52know, ultimately who's richer in this if if, if this all, if
- 32:00it happens to come out, or if it did come out as it was
- 32:04all true, would it affect any way you were a fan of Diddy?
- 32:09And because I could think about it, I don't really listen to Diddy music.
- 32:14I listened to bad boy music. I don't think it would affect anything
- 32:20of how I live today, Like if like when our Kelly shit happened,
- 32:23you know, or when Chris Brown stuff happened, like if it happened with
- 32:28Diddy, I don't think it would change anything or I really wouldn't care.
- 32:31Yeah, I think the only thing that I had that Diddy wise in my
- 32:35library because I looked it up, was the Usher song I don't know from
- 32:40like one of his first albums, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 32:43so I didn't even you know what I'm saying, Like I was just even
- 32:45curious kind of like you were saying, like track, Yep, that was
- 32:51like that was the only thing. I don't think it would affect you know,
- 32:53that aspect of it. I think for you know, for anything,
- 32:58or you know, it would really just affect his legacy. You know what
- 33:00I'm saying. It's like, let's be real, bro, if it wasn't
- 33:04for like, even with all of the random allegations that Michael Jackson had,
- 33:08you know what I'm saying, He's still the goat, but it did kind
- 33:14of tarnersh it for a lot of you know what I'm saying exactly, So
- 33:15that's that's kind of what it is. Yeah, man, But uh,
- 33:22it's about that time, man, We about to get to wrapping up.
- 33:25Gonna cut it a little short this week then we've been doing. Usually it's
- 33:29still like the same amount of time that we used to do, but lately
- 33:31we've been running a little long. I mean, let us know, if
- 33:35y'all like him shorter longer a yo. But either way, by next week,
- 33:38we're all gonna be set up like one hundred percent ready to go,
- 33:44you know what I'm saying. Joe's in town. I'm real excited about just
- 33:49having the opportunity to link up creatively, like what kind of we were talking
- 33:52about earlier, man, Like just being like with the one hundred two thousand
- 33:54things, like just being able to create and enjoy creating. Dog Like,
- 33:59That's that's all the goal is, you know what I'm saying. As far
- 34:00as like somebody that's into the arts, you know what I mean, And
- 34:05as long as you can do that, that's all that matters. Yeah,
- 34:09And that's the main thing, man, coming back to tap in to continuously
- 34:14be creative and something that I let go way before I left to Vegas and
- 34:19I tap back into it. I was out there thankful for y'all, thankful
- 34:23for everybody around me supported it. Not leaving that and now being closer to
- 34:28the Leicester, being closer to my boy Gary, being close to the Unk,
- 34:34being close to the Quincy even now when he takes a drive down and
- 34:37visits and around all my people who are creative and we can just continuously just
- 34:44keep me in that mind state. I'm super grateful for that. And that's
- 34:46another plus, And that's another change that I want to keep with me for
- 34:52sure while I'm here. Yeah, man, But real quick, like on
- 34:58some low key shit, man, Like that's that's like the way you make
- 35:02something real. Like that's the way you make something real special happen is when
- 35:07you have a group of people that are like locked in with the same kind
- 35:13of mentality and just like they're all just in that right mindset slash right time
- 35:19of their life like to make some real stuff happen, you know what I
- 35:22mean. That's like the lightning in the bottle that like makes your breaks.
- 35:25Like the specialness of like what people got going on. I feel like,
- 35:29you know, I mean, I always feel like whenever you listen to the
- 35:31story of how somebody made it, like no matter what you're talking about,
- 35:35they had a nice support system of all people that were excellent, you know
- 35:39what I mean, And it's hard to find them people, bro because like
- 35:43everybody not excellent, you know what I mean. But it's dope like starting
- 35:46to like put all them pieces together. Like Joe's even saying he's coming back
- 35:51thinking a different way, moving a different way, making sure everything is in
- 35:54line with what he's trying to do. Quincy's on the same time, where
- 35:59everything he's doing one is to build the future, to make everything you know
- 36:04better for him down the line, everybody just thinking the same way and trying
- 36:07to build the same way. That's like the key to like making something special
- 36:12that last, you know what I mean? Twenty eight episodes a way from
- 36:17one hundred in between there. I think we need to have an an Atlanta
- 36:22episode. We're definitely gonna have episode that Leicester's once I get my ship set
- 36:29up, Quincy's in town, we have an episode in my spot far We're
- 36:34gonna We're gonna do a lot more, man, We're gonna do a lot
- 36:36more. It's gonna be get We got some collapse coming. Uh. We
- 36:39got a lot of shit happening rolling up, man, and it's gonna be
- 36:43good. It's a lot more involvement. Oh man, I'm just I'm just
- 36:46ready to jump into it. Yeah. Man, I can't wait till for
- 36:51either one of y'all to pull up because like the way I set up my
- 36:53spot now, like I rearrange the whole studio and it's just pretty much set
- 36:58up like to create you know what I'm saying, content music anything, bro.
- 37:02Like even just the way I set up the couch now and the way
- 37:07it's set up, like you can set up the camera and it just looks
- 37:09perfect, Like everything is just optimal. I was just talking to Freddy before
- 37:14we got on the pot and I was like, Bro, this year,
- 37:16my mentality is output. I'm trying to create, create, create, I'm
- 37:21trying to put out as much as I can from every aspect so I can
- 37:23have as much comeback as I can, you know what I mean. Like,
- 37:27I'm just focused on that this year. And it's like that's the goal
- 37:30that I've been on, like this producing journey, the mixing journey, the
- 37:35salon journey, the shop journey, like everything is just all coming together to
- 37:39just be able to produce. Like I said, And at the end of
- 37:44the day, Bro, you can't double your success be on w your failure.
- 37:46So I've been through the failures, man, I was time to make
- 37:50that flip you hear me? Yes, after act after a puppy not not
- 39:40up, not not at not not not not thin acting
