- 0:52Speaker 3: as real.
- 0:53Speaker 2: He wrote, try talk about the tags, lest.
- 0:56Speaker 1: About biance, but we talk in a language that is
- 1:00Speaker 1: common to the people that's from the communities that we
- 1:02Speaker 1: grew up on.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You are are the bright spot, thank Dowership for Black Americans.
- 1:08Speaker 1: This is the knowledge that actually matters.
- 1:11Speaker 4: I'm close to you for the same.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Isn't it a country issue.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's not an American issue, it's a world issue.
- 1:17Speaker 4: We came to earn Lisa.
- 1:26Speaker 2: All right, guys, welcome back, e y l We are
- 1:30Speaker 2: international episode in Dubai u AE. Our good brother Daniel
- 1:36Speaker 2: King shout out to him. Man, Yes, we did his
- 1:39Speaker 2: conference from Toronto. You know, that's one of our major hubs.
- 1:43Speaker 2: We get a lot of support in Toronto. And he
- 1:45Speaker 2: actually moved out here and has been making his way
- 1:48Speaker 2: meeting great people.
- 1:50Speaker 4: And there was one.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You know, we came out here for vacation and wedding
- 1:53Speaker 2: and not necessarily the work. But when work calls, we're
- 1:57Speaker 2: always up. But when Daniel asked us to do any thing,
- 2:00Speaker 2: we have to say yes. Part of our obligation. Yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 2: he said that we have to. You know, we've interviewed
- 2:07Speaker 2: a variety of very important people in the world, you know,
- 2:11Speaker 2: head of stage, vice presidents, some of the richest people
- 2:14Speaker 2: of all time.
- 2:15Speaker 4: But he said, we have.
- 2:17Speaker 2: To interview one of his friends in Dubai who owns
- 2:21Speaker 2: the largest water park, the largest water park in the world.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Is that correct for now?
- 2:27Speaker 2: For now doesn't make it bigger, Ahmed Ben.
- 2:35Speaker 3: No, Okay, let's do let's let's do it. Got call
- 2:40Speaker 3: on your hand.
- 2:41Speaker 6: Okay, do it?
- 2:51Speaker 2: I try, I try, so thank you for joining us.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Appreciate it of course from being so good, it's so good.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So all right, so walk us through the beginnings, right
- 3:01Speaker 2: as far as how do you get to own a
- 3:04Speaker 2: water park?
- 3:05Speaker 4: You're a Mariti you're from Yes, you'm from Dubai. You're
- 3:08Speaker 4: from Dubai. All right, well how old are you?
- 3:11Speaker 6: Forty four?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Okay, so the first question even before we get to
- 3:14Speaker 2: the water park thing, right, let's let's talk about you.
- 3:15Speaker 2: For people that our audience is mainly based in America,
- 3:18Speaker 2: A lot of people, a lot of people have not
- 3:19Speaker 2: been to the UA. It's interesting country. I think it's
- 3:21Speaker 2: like ten percent of the people that's actually in the
- 3:24Speaker 2: country are from the country, right, ninety percent come from
- 3:27Speaker 2: outside the country.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Yes, correct, yes, exactly so.
- 3:29Speaker 2: But you've seen transformation happen in your life in real time, right,
- 3:32Speaker 2: you're old enough, you're old enough start there. So when
- 3:36Speaker 2: you when how how quickly has this turned the corner?
- 3:40Speaker 2: And like for you to actually be experienced it, be
- 3:43Speaker 2: experiencing it as a native, Like what is it like
- 3:46Speaker 2: for you to actually see the country change right in
- 3:49Speaker 2: front of your eyes?
- 3:50Speaker 3: And it becomes so hard to understand anythink else but
- 3:55Speaker 3: the speed and the service level and the safety we
- 3:57Speaker 3: have the fact that we are walking on my cars
- 4:00Speaker 3: are unlocked, where jewelry and watches and that where buy anything.
- 4:04Speaker 3: That level of safety is a huge thing. It's interesting
- 4:09Speaker 3: because people think because we bring a lot of experts
- 4:12Speaker 3: in the town that we're just using them. No, think
- 4:14Speaker 3: get paid very well, we just learned from the best.
- 4:18Speaker 3: The city of Dubai is run as a business and
- 4:21Speaker 3: the president Shiphammad is the best CEO. So we dedicate
- 4:24Speaker 3: the job for a lot of very very powerful and
- 4:26Speaker 3: smart people. So and the best about it again speed
- 4:30Speaker 3: like if this will work for people, let's change the
- 4:33Speaker 3: ale and make it happen.
- 4:34Speaker 6: So that's the whole thing.
- 4:35Speaker 3: And the time to have an idea, to decide and
- 4:38Speaker 3: make it happen is pretty quick. They keep Now you're
- 4:41Speaker 3: hearing Dubai right now, what we're in November. Now coming
- 4:44Speaker 3: three months, you'll find new bridges that was done. So
- 4:47Speaker 3: the speed of things are done here as much faster.
- 4:50Speaker 3: We don't have like this dictatorship in a way works
- 4:54Speaker 3: And again you're American, how much tax you pay initially
- 5:00Speaker 3: in it in your state tax.
- 5:02Speaker 4: We got federal tax, so much state tax?
- 5:04Speaker 6: Yeah? How much do you pay tax? Sometimes? Isn't that stupid?
- 5:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 5:09Speaker 3: Of course, okay, you're paying half a few minutes. You're
- 5:12Speaker 3: working six months of the year for free for what.
- 5:15Speaker 3: No safety, no amazing education, no proper healthcare, and no lifestyle.
- 5:21Speaker 6: Why are you doing that? You have to treat you
- 5:23Speaker 6: can move when that moved, because that that's the topic.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Give was like, why are you staying there?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Why be somewhere you are tolerated when you can be celebrated.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Why are you wasting so much energy being worried about
- 5:34Speaker 3: all this nonsense that you cannot worry about anymore. Raise
- 5:38Speaker 3: issues and you know tax is in safety and so on.
- 5:41Speaker 3: So when you can just have the energy back in
- 5:42Speaker 3: you and then they can just perform because the level
- 5:44Speaker 3: of hustle you have it's phenomenal. Imagine that hustle but
- 5:48Speaker 3: with no instructions. Imagine the level of growth you're gonna
- 5:51Speaker 3: have in a much shorter span of time.
- 5:55Speaker 1: These are these are valid points man, success, love, speed
- 5:57Speaker 1: and what you're saying makes I means one hundredercent correct. Right.
- 6:01Speaker 1: When you have clarity, it opens up vision to create
- 6:04Speaker 1: and be more creative. We've seen that in our careers
- 6:07Speaker 1: on a personal level and obviously on a business level.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I'm wondering when you started this wasn't was It's a
- 6:13Speaker 1: vision like I'm going to.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Build park water parks in flavor parks.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Like what was the original vision and how did it
- 6:19Speaker 1: get to this point.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It's a very funny question because like where we started
- 6:23Speaker 3: and where we are at now is so opposite.
- 6:26Speaker 6: Like because I had the slip desk.
- 6:28Speaker 3: I can move and walk and I was just in
- 6:29Speaker 3: bed for forty one days and all it could do
- 6:31Speaker 3: is consume YouTube that time, that's almost forteen years ago,
- 6:35Speaker 3: and the idea of aqua fun. I saw com video
- 6:38Speaker 3: was like, oh that's awesome. And then I was in
- 6:41Speaker 3: the beach and I heard people next to me like
- 6:42Speaker 3: I wish there's something I'm my kiss to do. And
- 6:43Speaker 3: then I was next day, I was in the yacht.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I don't drink on a smoke. I don't like that
- 6:47Speaker 3: things so much. I'm just sitting there being me dyslexic,
- 6:51Speaker 3: very visual, so I imagine what if we have a
- 6:54Speaker 3: slide from top to bottom. And then those three ideas
- 6:57Speaker 3: came together and then okay, let me create this aqua fun.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I started going in researching at the world and there
- 7:03Speaker 3: was two companies who does this kind of thing in
- 7:06Speaker 3: the world. I spoke to both of them, and both
- 7:08Speaker 3: of them gave me so much shit because I was
- 7:10Speaker 3: I was nobody. Basically I done this before. It's like, no,
- 7:14Speaker 3: you gotta pay me this and this and this, and
- 7:16Speaker 3: you're nobody, so what the hell? It's okay, cool. So
- 7:19Speaker 3: I went to China. I spent a month there. I
- 7:22Speaker 3: met forty one factories. I find their factories, I create
- 7:27Speaker 3: my own brand, I go fund and the first thing
- 7:29Speaker 3: that is, okay, I mean to be bigger than you.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Did that, and then I think after six months, I
- 7:34Speaker 3: got bankrupt. That was the first barakruptcy. And for the
- 7:39Speaker 3: next four and a half years, I was in Dallas,
- 7:42Speaker 3: almost two hundred and fIF debt, just debt, every mindy
- 7:46Speaker 3: I'm making, paying staff, paying debts, betting suppliers and sort
- 7:50Speaker 3: of paying that thing to myself. And then I think
- 7:53Speaker 3: almost four and a half years, and that's when I
- 7:56Speaker 3: going back to zero. And that's when I changed my team,
- 7:59Speaker 3: changed my people, systems and so on and so on,
- 8:01Speaker 3: as okay, let's go in now.
- 8:03Speaker 5: And then I think.
- 8:05Speaker 3: So the last thirteen years, I was backrup twice and
- 8:09Speaker 3: twenty four times. My first view in business, six hundred
- 8:12Speaker 3: and seventeen people told me no, this idea is not
- 8:14Speaker 3: gonna work. I was basically every single day getting two
- 8:17Speaker 3: people tell me no. Every single day. I opened the
- 8:20Speaker 3: map of the UAE, I went to every single beach
- 8:22Speaker 3: owner in the whole country as it is, no, no, no,
- 8:26Speaker 3: And then eventually now I'm the biggest operator in the world.
- 8:28Speaker 3: So the genius thing, it is one thing I just
- 8:30Speaker 3: didn't quit. It's never quit, no matter how crazy it was.
- 8:34Speaker 1: There's a couple of genius things you did in there.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You saw who the competition was, you saw what they
- 8:40Speaker 1: were using. You said, all right, let me go get
- 8:42Speaker 1: what they're using and let me go destroy them.
- 8:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I founded me each I dominated it.
- 8:47Speaker 2: So basically, so what's the turning point as far as Okay,
- 8:51Speaker 2: it's a very cost of extensive business as far as
- 8:53Speaker 2: what you're running, so you have to get capped. If
- 8:55Speaker 2: you were bankrupt and you had no money. You have
- 8:57Speaker 2: to have at some point in time where you have
- 8:59Speaker 2: to have a lot of money that comes in to
- 9:01Speaker 2: actually get up and up and run it, right, so.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Sales, you raised, you raised money.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I said, I've never since there any single dollar h
- 9:09Speaker 3: by me. So I made the money myself. I lost
- 9:12Speaker 3: my mind myself, and then I focused on sales. Just
- 9:15Speaker 3: keep doing sales, changing things social media and changing the
- 9:20Speaker 3: way pretending present my businesses on social media because I
- 9:23Speaker 3: understood and the end, I am in the business of
- 9:25Speaker 3: creating happy memories. So basically the emotion I was sending
- 9:29Speaker 3: an emotion, the emotion where people having fun. So I
- 9:32Speaker 3: made sure I am involved in that. So I was
- 9:34Speaker 3: ming from the wance stairs getting into the water park
- 9:38Speaker 3: and then I will shoot you with my GoPro and
- 9:40Speaker 3: my drone, and I will edit the pictures and we
- 9:42Speaker 3: use myself and I will send them everything. So the first
- 9:44Speaker 3: hand thousand followers because of me. I was in the
- 9:47Speaker 3: beach every single day. Follow me, follow me, follow me,
- 9:49Speaker 3: follow me. So it's very for me, very personally, very.
- 9:53Speaker 6: In hand.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Exercise, how many employees do you have now, seven hundred
- 9:59Speaker 2: and eighty, seven hundred and eighty at the water.
- 10:01Speaker 6: Park around the world.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you said around the world, around the world.
- 10:06Speaker 4: How many water park do you have?
- 10:07Speaker 6: Thirty four?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Okay, So when you're when you're working right, what's the
- 10:12Speaker 2: scalable amount? If you've never taken any outside of investments,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you just literally just okay, do this water park, then
- 10:18Speaker 2: the money then rolling over there, they're rolling over there,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and then just keep it going from there.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Basically, I was like, let's make one very good. And
- 10:25Speaker 3: then because earlier on I went too big, too fast,
- 10:28Speaker 3: so I think we had two one park, then two
- 10:30Speaker 3: and then went to seventeen. And then when that time
- 10:33Speaker 3: we lost so much quality control, branding was bad. Service
- 10:36Speaker 3: was that everything was just bad. Let's go back to
- 10:38Speaker 3: the beginnings. Do want to make it right? Systems usps
- 10:44Speaker 3: every step of the business have to betritten down and
- 10:46Speaker 3: then hire the right people. Empowering because the issue is
- 10:50Speaker 3: like this whole founder syndrome is like I'm the found
- 10:52Speaker 3: that I can do the best. Yes you are, but
- 10:54Speaker 3: we never scared so given letting away my ego out
- 10:57Speaker 3: of the way is okay, I'm gonna give this person
- 11:00Speaker 3: the authority and the power to do this and give them,
- 11:03Speaker 3: you know, part of this, and then see what they do.
- 11:06Speaker 3: They wouldn't do a nd percent job, but they might
- 11:07Speaker 3: do sixty percent job. But then I can be somewhere else.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Now you this is It's pretty imacurate because you think
- 11:16Speaker 1: water park, but on the service, this is an engineering
- 11:19Speaker 1: and this is a design build that you're doing. Did
- 11:23Speaker 1: you have a background or that or did you build
- 11:25Speaker 1: a tine? You did so, you designed? You have no idea,
- 11:28Speaker 1: no idea.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I learned how to design, how to ancur, how to clean,
- 11:32Speaker 3: how to do even power supply connection, the seceship points.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I learned diving. I learned social everything myself because his thing.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Everyone have a smartphone, you have YouTube, have Google. There's
- 11:47Speaker 3: new excuse. It's a totally for everything in the world.
- 11:50Speaker 3: You're just lazy learn and now we have tragiputy. It's
- 11:56Speaker 3: even much better. The tools are there. We a lot
- 12:00Speaker 3: of people just lazy.
- 12:01Speaker 6: It's content.
- 12:02Speaker 3: They love the dream of saying, oh I want to
- 12:04Speaker 3: be this cool, do the work.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Do the work?
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah, So YouTube TV.
- 12:09Speaker 6: Yeah, you and Google. That's it everything.
- 12:11Speaker 1: So that that means obviously we're big on that. A
- 12:14Speaker 1: lot of people watch us on that. What are the
- 12:16Speaker 1: mistakes that you make though, right, because if you're learning
- 12:19Speaker 1: on your own, I'm not sure if there's any mentors
- 12:21Speaker 1: in the picture at this point you're figuring things out.
- 12:23Speaker 1: What are some of the mistakes that you're making early
- 12:25Speaker 1: on thousands of mistakes. Talk about those.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Oh, I am the king of comebacks. I love doing mistakes.
- 12:32Speaker 3: It's the most fun thing ever because again you can
- 12:35Speaker 3: read about it, you can go in class for it.
- 12:39Speaker 3: But nothing beats failery. Nothing beats failerity because like I
- 12:43Speaker 3: know what work work for my second because I did
- 12:46Speaker 3: every single mistake possit you can you can do costly,
- 12:51Speaker 3: very costly, like millions of dollars of mistakes. But that's
- 12:55Speaker 3: the whole thing. Like, you know, the difference, like I
- 12:57Speaker 3: just didn't stop. Otherwise I stop, it become the loss,
- 13:00Speaker 3: So that l could be a loss or could be
- 13:01Speaker 3: a listenpecially for me.
- 13:05Speaker 2: So let's go back to the geopolitical aspect of it.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Explain the difference with people that may not be familiar
- 13:10Speaker 2: between the UAE and America, because yet the system of
- 13:15Speaker 2: governance is different obviously from the You know, you have
- 13:18Speaker 2: a democracy where somebody votes for a president, where you
- 13:20Speaker 2: have a kingdom, right, and a lot of people in
- 13:23Speaker 2: the Western world have been trained to think that that
- 13:26Speaker 2: is not an efficient way to govern. You could have
- 13:30Speaker 2: a counter argument to that and say, you know, how
- 13:33Speaker 2: we look at democracy is not efficient. We just had
- 13:34Speaker 2: a government shut down, So talk about the differences as
- 13:39Speaker 2: far as government and how it's beneficial for entrepreneurs.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Amazing question.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Each section of the the city that said roads, it's
- 13:52Speaker 3: is the end power supply. They run as enterprises, businesses
- 13:57Speaker 3: and every year they have a competition governmental government and
- 14:02Speaker 3: each year they are basically competing about who gets the
- 14:06Speaker 3: best customer happiness survey competition and the people who lose
- 14:14Speaker 3: they get a month noticed and they get fired.
- 14:17Speaker 6: If you don't fix your stuff gains.
- 14:21Speaker 3: For example, I think last month there was a power
- 14:25Speaker 3: shortage in where my house are. The government said hey,
- 14:31Speaker 3: they might be a shortage, so they got a generator
- 14:33Speaker 3: outside the house to connect the houses in case we
- 14:36Speaker 3: have a shortage.
- 14:37Speaker 6: For example. That's like one more thing.
- 14:40Speaker 3: You heard about the Golden visa, right, the god visa,
- 14:43Speaker 3: you know as an investor visa. Now they've built an
- 14:47Speaker 3: embassy for Golden visa holders. So if you have a
- 14:51Speaker 3: Golden visa in Indubu, if you have any problem anywhere in
- 14:54Speaker 3: the world, let's see you pass with a story and
- 14:56Speaker 3: you got the issue we can give you. They give
- 14:58Speaker 3: you a document you can try back to Dubai so
- 15:01Speaker 3: you've been treated more better than your own country in
- 15:04Speaker 3: a lot of senses.
- 15:07Speaker 6: Again, like the only way.
- 15:10Speaker 3: For you to explain the BIA is to come to
- 15:12Speaker 3: Dubai because you think you're having good life. You think
- 15:16Speaker 3: so much, it's not I look at dubaias like Miami,
- 15:19Speaker 3: but cleaner and with no drugs and just better. That's
- 15:24Speaker 3: a bed insception Like Miami, same style, same cars, same people,
- 15:28Speaker 3: but like just cleaner or not drugs and just better
- 15:30Speaker 3: lifestyle and safer.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Safety is important.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I think one of the things you leveraged and had
- 15:36Speaker 1: vision in social media.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Talk about having a vision early on, because.
- 15:41Speaker 1: You're talking about fourteen years ago, so it's really at
- 15:42Speaker 1: the start of Instagram and kind of shaping the narrative
- 15:47Speaker 1: of yes, Dubai tourism, but more so Dubai family, right
- 15:52Speaker 1: because that's where your sweet spot is. Talk about watching
- 15:55Speaker 1: that evolution over the course of your expansion.
- 15:58Speaker 3: For the business life business because because we're almost the
- 16:05Speaker 3: same age, so there's a lot of guys like us
- 16:09Speaker 3: who come from nothing. You know, you assess me obviously,
- 16:13Speaker 3: all of us, so we didn't have the life that
- 16:18Speaker 3: we have right now. So now when we have children
- 16:21Speaker 3: right now, you provide you're over campass and overvide because
- 16:24Speaker 3: you want them to have a hardship.
- 16:26Speaker 6: So I realized that that made the.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Kids also leading their shopping and spending powers, and I, okay,
- 16:34Speaker 3: so why am I talking to them? We can just
- 16:36Speaker 3: talk to them and they will post the kids and
- 16:38Speaker 3: families and they get their father and mother, who have
- 16:40Speaker 3: very good spending power now to spend with me. And
- 16:43Speaker 3: that was the whole thing. So I made sure all
- 16:45Speaker 3: the videos are read people having real fun. I think
- 16:48Speaker 3: we got four point nine stars on Google with four
- 16:51Speaker 3: thousand plus reviews. That only happens because you're good the
- 16:55Speaker 3: way you do. That's it and that and what did
- 16:59Speaker 3: with that was something something very very simple I always
- 17:03Speaker 3: have to do when when when so okay, I saw
- 17:05Speaker 3: my staff working with the customers and my life guards,
- 17:08Speaker 3: and I saw them trying to do extragractic tips. It's okay,
- 17:11Speaker 3: how about this, don't get tips? Okay, asked the customer
- 17:15Speaker 3: to give a review for the water park and mentioning
- 17:17Speaker 3: it right okay, And then every person who gets a
- 17:22Speaker 3: review under the name, I'll give you an amount of
- 17:25Speaker 3: dollars almost ten dollars, almost And by the end of
- 17:29Speaker 3: the month first month, we've grew I think three hundred reviews.
- 17:33Speaker 3: But my customers had great service, my staff got tips
- 17:38Speaker 3: and they got more money, and my business look better.
- 17:41Speaker 3: When when when such a simple thing, because again, if
- 17:45Speaker 3: I'm going to buy a review, that costs much more
- 17:47Speaker 3: money and would look like about So this is really.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Talk about taxes. You mentioned that at the beginning, but
- 17:54Speaker 2: really break that down. That's something that's been on social
- 17:56Speaker 2: media lied. As far as there's no taxes in Dubai,
- 17:59Speaker 2: is there no taxes? Is the taxes on a corporation? Like,
- 18:03Speaker 2: explain that the.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Actual So there's no income tax, person, no person tax,
- 18:10Speaker 3: there is no property tax, there's no fret at tax.
- 18:15Speaker 3: We have five percent viity by attacks on goods five percent,
- 18:19Speaker 3: and there's a nine percent corporate tax that's on your
- 18:21Speaker 3: profits of your annually. So us especially whereas you made
- 18:25Speaker 3: a much revenue, how much of that, how much of
- 18:26Speaker 3: that is your profit that is not percent? Listen, now,
- 18:31Speaker 3: if we compare apples and apples, the fees you pay
- 18:35Speaker 3: for certain government entities compared to what you get somewhere
- 18:38Speaker 3: else is cheaper. How much do you pay for insurance?
- 18:41Speaker 4: Health insurance? Insurance by two thousand a month a month.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Look God, for one percent, me and my son, two people,
- 18:47Speaker 4: two people.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Okay, that's so in a year, that's how much twenty Okay,
- 18:52Speaker 3: so for me, so three people, I remember as well,
- 18:55Speaker 3: three people will cost me around seven hund dollars for
- 19:00Speaker 3: the whole.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Year, for a whole year year.
- 19:02Speaker 6: But I would get private hospitals.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I can walk to any place right now, get test,
- 19:07Speaker 3: get a blood tests, get the X ray, get my
- 19:09Speaker 3: medication over free private hostice. I don't have to wait
- 19:13Speaker 3: a month or two months for a dent disappointment in
- 19:16Speaker 3: the nonsense. That's this year, just walking again, same day.
- 19:22Speaker 3: That's one simple thing, okay. So that's that's that's not
- 19:27Speaker 3: the other things like the money you might you make
- 19:29Speaker 3: stays with you.
- 19:31Speaker 2: So okay, if you're not, if you're not getting tax
- 19:35Speaker 2: revenue and you're getting free subsidies, how does that work?
- 19:39Speaker 2: Because like, if you're the government taxes usually pays for services.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Yes, right, supposed to the government, yes, supposedly.
- 19:47Speaker 6: For sure, allegedly allegedly that's what they say.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Have you seeing your roads and see my roads? No,
- 19:56Speaker 2: That's why I'm asking. So if there's no revenue, roads
- 20:02Speaker 2: there's no revenue coming in from taxes, and school is free.
- 20:09Speaker 3: You said, we have two schools. They have private schools
- 20:13Speaker 3: and government schools. Private schools you pay them, but if
- 20:15Speaker 3: you compare them here in America is way cheaper.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Here.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Government schools is free obviously, but it's a different kind
- 20:22Speaker 3: of education. How do we make the money because there's fees,
- 20:27Speaker 3: there's service.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Fees, service fees on goods, product services. But again it's
- 20:33Speaker 2: a small country, so it's relatively regardless.
- 20:36Speaker 3: But still it says the money managed properly. When they
- 20:42Speaker 3: give you know, hey, we're doing this new bridge. This
- 20:45Speaker 3: bridge is ready three for months, not two three years.
- 20:49Speaker 3: In the SAMI, when we build the Metro in three years,
- 20:51Speaker 3: Jeremy said, how are you doing three? This is possible
- 20:54Speaker 3: nine years. It was done in three years. So that's
- 20:57Speaker 3: the whole thing is the money is managed properly. There's
- 21:00Speaker 3: no bullshit, there's none of that. Not since you have
- 21:02Speaker 3: there is there. I mean, there's there's two sides of
- 21:06Speaker 3: that coin. Right, Like we've watched when we talk about
- 21:09Speaker 3: successful and speed, that also leaves the door for error. Right,
- 21:11Speaker 3: We've watched recently other countries that had large scale projects
- 21:15Speaker 3: that are now saying that we're not.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Gonna be able to create, we'll leave those we'll leave
- 21:19Speaker 5: their names out of it.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Right, Is it too ambitious and does it leave you
- 21:25Speaker 1: susceptible to make mistakes that potentially could be harmful because
- 21:28Speaker 1: this is a place that relies on tourism and people
- 21:31Speaker 1: coming to invest in and now live. Does that come
- 21:34Speaker 1: into the thought process anytime when you're trying to expand.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Okay, so Dubai don't have oil, no oil, no, not
- 21:41Speaker 3: your guys. Dubai income is from tourism, important, export and trading.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Just feel that there's no oil in this city, whatever
- 21:49Speaker 3: or it comes from. Will that be the capital, but
- 21:51Speaker 3: that mine is the community, that's different city, so they
- 21:54Speaker 3: doesn't have that. Dubai is good in the tourism, the trading,
- 21:57Speaker 3: important export, the free zones, all the stuff they're revelously stuff.
- 22:00Speaker 3: And again we have the infrastructures. Remember a couple days, yes, okay,
- 22:05Speaker 3: so you guys used to fight for tissues remember.
- 22:09Speaker 5: Remember that time that there was the time.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Yes, we used to have offers on tissues, offers by
- 22:16Speaker 3: I think it fire free okay, hours for markets. It
- 22:20Speaker 3: was not empty, it's nothing empty. It was never a
- 22:23Speaker 3: sefe empty. Logistics were good here when they needed to
- 22:29Speaker 3: build these hospitals for what they call them quarantine and stuff.
- 22:33Speaker 6: They built.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I think one of the hospitals had eight thousand beds,
- 22:36Speaker 3: was done in forty eight hours.
- 22:38Speaker 5: With forty eight hours.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yes, it was built with beds, all the machines, nurses
- 22:44Speaker 3: and everything in forty hours. It took a big exhibition
- 22:47Speaker 3: hall and sits to a hospital. So that's the whole thing.
- 22:52Speaker 3: The management is different here. They have backup or backup
- 22:55Speaker 3: for backup. That's the difference.
- 22:59Speaker 4: You know, real estate, Oh yes, we talk about real estate.
- 23:04Speaker 3: And Dubai powerful stuff, Dubai ui e regardless.
- 23:09Speaker 6: Is just it's not gonna stop.
- 23:12Speaker 3: It's just like you know, whatever is holding you back,
- 23:14Speaker 3: stop it because you need to be part of it
- 23:17Speaker 3: very quickly. Because it's not slow and down. Just just
- 23:19Speaker 3: go just going up. It's just going up. Everything's going up.
- 23:24Speaker 3: What's the percentage of growth now? Thirty every year you're
- 23:28Speaker 3: on year thirty percent, forty percent, five percent. There you
- 23:32Speaker 3: go yearly twenty five percent yearly. It's it's insane. Like
- 23:37Speaker 3: I remember there was a villa. Our family member was
- 23:41Speaker 3: rented it. I think four years ago for one hundred thousand.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Now it's three hundred and fifty.
- 23:47Speaker 2: How is this system here as far as there's no mortgages, right,
- 23:50Speaker 2: there's mortgages here, mortgages like America.
- 23:53Speaker 6: There's mortgages.
- 23:54Speaker 3: But there's also payment terms because if you're buying the
- 23:56Speaker 3: actually if you're buying an off plant, that's good time
- 23:59Speaker 3: because now you have no interest, you can just pay
- 24:01Speaker 3: directly with the developer. So they just pay payment terms
- 24:05Speaker 3: until you receive that. Otherwise you can pay cash capital.
- 24:10Speaker 3: There's multiple ways, but that's the best thing about So.
- 24:12Speaker 2: We're from New York, right, So I don't know if
- 24:14Speaker 2: you follow local geopolitical politics, but they got a new
- 24:19Speaker 2: mayor who's been elected. You know that, you know about that.
- 24:21Speaker 2: He's a socialist. The reason why he got elected is
- 24:24Speaker 2: because the city has become so unaffordable because the top
- 24:28Speaker 2: one percent but is doing extremely well, but the population
- 24:33Speaker 2: barely surviving. So do you do you worry that a
- 24:39Speaker 2: city like Dubai can reach that level of it's not
- 24:42Speaker 2: sustainable after a certain point when every all the billionaires
- 24:45Speaker 2: from all over the world come in, but people still
- 24:46Speaker 2: need to work, right, so the workers are at the
- 24:49Speaker 2: bottom level and then you have people that's worth one
- 24:52Speaker 2: hundred billion dollars at the top level. That gap is
- 24:56Speaker 2: so wide that it leads to, like you know, a
- 25:00Speaker 2: not sustainable living situation.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Dubai is like an onion, and there's so many layers
- 25:07Speaker 3: and sometimes the layers on touch either. So yes, we
- 25:11Speaker 3: have I think this year we had almost ninety thousand
- 25:15Speaker 3: millionaires moved ready to buy, and I think twenty or
- 25:18Speaker 3: seventeen billiers moved to Dubai.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Already, so that space is already packed. Good, amazing. Now
- 25:25Speaker 6: nobody in the middle and law.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Now I can go right now and have dinner for
- 25:31Speaker 3: four of us and we can spend less than fifty dollars,
- 25:35Speaker 3: or we can have dinner together and spend at least
- 25:37Speaker 3: five hund dollars. So both levels are there. There is
- 25:40Speaker 3: affordable housing here. Differently we need more of that, but
- 25:44Speaker 3: it's there, it exists. There is ecosystem that basically alwaysists
- 25:47Speaker 3: together in that space.
- 25:49Speaker 6: So there's levels and again it keeps it. Here's the
- 25:52Speaker 6: thing about Dubai.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Dubai will show what you are or I burned out
- 25:57Speaker 3: to buy? Does the burning out you your true cars
- 25:59Speaker 3: came out? If you're good, you're good. If you're bad,
- 26:02Speaker 3: now know how bad you are. So again, this city
- 26:06Speaker 3: keeps you compareditive, keeps you very strong, be strong.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Thirty four water parks for now, For now, I'm gonna
- 26:13Speaker 1: have I mean, already has the largest water park in
- 26:15Speaker 1: the world. We'll have it again, and we got to
- 26:19Speaker 1: get bigger. Ninety one businesses.
- 26:21Speaker 6: No, now I have nine businesses.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Nine not to want investments, investments, I'm sorry, ninety one investments,
- 26:28Speaker 1: nine businesses. In my head, I'm thinking, how are we
- 26:32Speaker 1: running operations on the day to day? How involved are
- 26:35Speaker 1: you in or do you have CFO cmos?
- 26:38Speaker 5: Is the structure the same.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Different stashes some I'm very involved in daily things because
- 26:44Speaker 3: again most of my Zoom calls are under.
- 26:47Speaker 6: Twenty minutes with my teams.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Intentionally, Yes, why it doesn't take that long to understand
- 26:54Speaker 3: what you want? I know what I want. Spend to
- 26:56Speaker 3: many points on three four, give me point points. What's happening,
- 26:59Speaker 3: what's going on?
- 27:00Speaker 6: What stutions? Do you have these problems? And then I
- 27:02Speaker 6: pick from them quickly.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I wake up early in the morning, I go to
- 27:06Speaker 3: my gym, do my workhouse done, and I go to
- 27:08Speaker 3: my beach and just go see everything and the begin
- 27:10Speaker 3: make sure everything's done the way we do, then let's
- 27:13Speaker 3: go first office, second office, or zoom calls. I try
- 27:17Speaker 3: to keep things all in the same geographic space so
- 27:19Speaker 3: I don't have to drivel too much. That's what today
- 27:22Speaker 3: was a bit technic. But like usually, I do all
- 27:23Speaker 3: the things in the same space. So my businesses, offices
- 27:27Speaker 3: in my penthouse all in the same space. So I
- 27:31Speaker 3: have to move too much because again time is a
- 27:33Speaker 3: very big factor here. So my day is always structured,
- 27:37Speaker 3: like in the tea, so there's no bullshit in a
- 27:39Speaker 3: few ten minutes fifteen minutes late in one meeting, I
- 27:43Speaker 3: can't see meeting because I can't see over somebody else.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Today I had like a seven hour shooting, so it
- 27:50Speaker 3: was just hectic. It was was before hours became seven hours.
- 27:52Speaker 3: It's okay, everything else had had to be canceled. But
- 27:56Speaker 3: it's very structured.
- 27:58Speaker 5: It makes sense.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't have this off. I don't understand
- 28:02Speaker 3: this off like I still now. I do eighty two
- 28:06Speaker 3: hundred hours a week.
- 28:08Speaker 2: That still, So talk about your branding because you're you're
- 28:12Speaker 2: obviously branding yourself because you aquaman on your sleeve. Yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 2: you have a necklace like a rapper. You have a
- 28:18Speaker 2: necklace on like you know, so it's all mine.
- 28:21Speaker 6: It's about.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Slight difference slight.
- 28:25Speaker 2: So so talking you're obviously intentional about how you want
- 28:28Speaker 2: the world to see you, the image that you're putting
- 28:30Speaker 2: out there, that they you're doing the show with Netflix.
- 28:31Speaker 4: So you're not like a behind the scenes guy. It
- 28:34Speaker 4: doesn't seem like that, right.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Talk about talk about that, Talk about your intentionality with
- 28:38Speaker 2: your branding.
- 28:39Speaker 3: You need to be very purposeful and very intentional with
- 28:43Speaker 3: every single thing you do, everything you say or do anything,
- 28:46Speaker 3: because there's three different when people can when you meet people,
- 28:49Speaker 3: they will see you, they will smell you, or they
- 28:50Speaker 3: will hear you.
- 28:51Speaker 6: You need to look good.
- 28:53Speaker 3: You just smell good and you know where you're talking about.
- 28:56Speaker 3: It's a very important things. I assume the power of
- 28:58Speaker 3: personal budge very very well because again there's it gets
- 29:02Speaker 3: it creates report people know I've seen you video somewhere,
- 29:07Speaker 3: I relate to what you said about this topic of
- 29:08Speaker 3: that topic. So it takes away that whole fluff of
- 29:12Speaker 3: when you meet somebody, people know I've seen you. I
- 29:14Speaker 3: like you, especially if you if you're authentic and if
- 29:18Speaker 3: you really and you say there are things people relate
- 29:20Speaker 3: to it.
- 29:21Speaker 6: You know, when you're really when.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Other people understand you and to you very fast, So
- 29:25Speaker 3: that's very important. It brings a lot of brands together
- 29:29Speaker 3: collaborations very quickly. And again like you know, why not
- 29:35Speaker 3: look good?
- 29:37Speaker 6: Why not?
- 29:38Speaker 3: It's like, you know, God blesses me with like you know,
- 29:40Speaker 3: I work so hard, I got the my name, enjoy
- 29:42Speaker 3: it and I keep it in a grave with me.
- 29:45Speaker 6: Enjoy it.
- 29:46Speaker 5: Now.
- 29:47Speaker 1: One of the things I've been educated on since being
- 29:49Speaker 1: here is this license plate situation.
- 29:54Speaker 6: It's humbling, isn't it.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Can you explain to the to the version here the
- 29:59Speaker 1: person that has I heard about this?
- 30:01Speaker 5: I saw there. There's digits.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Now we come from a place where your license plates
- 30:04Speaker 1: your license plate, and you might transfer that from.
- 30:07Speaker 6: Because there's a cap there.
- 30:08Speaker 5: There's a totally different meaning here.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yeah, because you know when we say out of money,
- 30:11Speaker 3: there's a purpose behind it because okay, having energy class, okay,
- 30:16Speaker 3: citing FIA cool, having okay cool, But then okay, how
- 30:20Speaker 3: do you show.
- 30:21Speaker 6: More than I'm wing?
- 30:22Speaker 3: And now comes with this new it's only this part
- 30:25Speaker 3: of the word thing is like you know, plate numbers,
- 30:27Speaker 3: so if it's one digital digits, it's more expensive. So
- 30:30Speaker 3: sometimes a one digit plate number, let's say a A
- 30:36Speaker 3: five for example, that one went out for fifteen million dollars.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Fifteen million for one digit. You know, so that's the
- 30:44Speaker 3: whole thing, you know it. It becomes an asset. It's
- 30:48Speaker 3: a new category of assets to show who you are exactly.
- 30:52Speaker 1: So when I moved to Dubai, I need to have
- 30:55Speaker 1: at least let's move first.
- 30:56Speaker 3: We talking about baby steps.
- 31:00Speaker 6: First thing, we're talking about that other.
- 31:02Speaker 5: All right, no five digits.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Well, thank you for your time, thank you for having
- 31:08Speaker 2: the voice. Thank you for your time. I appreciate it.
- 31:10Speaker 4: More success continue, earners.
