• 0:48
Speaker 1: This is a small station wagon.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: According to US government, it is an SUV.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: That's the way I look at it.
• 0:55
Speaker 1: Anyway, there aren't too many really station wagons anymore that I know of.
• 0:59
Speaker 1: Suv All new in 2023.
• 1:01
Speaker 1: Seats, five, sloped nose and windshield is drastic.
• 1:06
Speaker 1: This is an aero cheater all the way.
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: It's.
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: Really.
• 1:11
Speaker 1: It looks pretty amazing.
• 1:12
Speaker 1: To be honest with you, I like the look of it.
• 1:14
Speaker 1: Same goes for the rear hatch and the roof line.
• 1:17
Speaker 1: That's all a big aero thing.
• 1:19
Speaker 1: Big 19-inch wheels fill the wheel openings and have attractive designs.
• 1:24
Speaker 1: Big slab sides give it a luxurious look.
• 1:28
Speaker 1: What I liked about it?
• 1:29
Speaker 1: The overall exterior design gets high marks from me.
• 1:31
Speaker 1: I love the copper color that I had with the blacked-out roof.
• 1:36
Speaker 1: It is a true standout.
• 1:37
Speaker 1: Interior highlights 12.3-inch screen.
• 1:43
  Speaker 2: One of those.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: It's big, 12.3 inches for the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
• 1:49
Speaker 1: Touchpoint controls on some functions are unique and it takes some serious getting used to.
• 1:55
Speaker 1: I can promise you that Dash has a very clean look to it, very quiet cabin, even at highway speeds.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: Cargo, trunk room, standard size for this size SUV.
• 2:08
Speaker 1: What I liked Some interior decorative panels are lit and it does add a nice touch at nighttime.
• 2:15
Speaker 1: The ambiance is really nice in there.
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: It's quiet.
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: It's a pretty cool car.
• 2:20
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 2:21
Speaker 1: Small movable center console.
• 2:26
Speaker 1: It lacks storage space.
• 2:28
Speaker 1: And you say a movable console?
• 2:30
Speaker 1: Yeah, so the center armrest?
• 2:33
Speaker 1: Right, it moves back and forth so you can adjust it to your elbow.
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: Are you a long-le?
• 2:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cool, but there's not much space in it.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: Engine is an E-Force, is what they call it?
• 2:49
Speaker 1: Dual motor, all electric, all-wheel drive.
• 2:52
Speaker 1: It gets up to 389 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and it is no transmission, it's just direct drive from the motor to the wheels, automatic, clearly.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: As far as miles per gallon are concerned, 105 in the city Highway is 91 for a combined to 98 at a max charge and 289-mile range on this thing.
• 3:22
Speaker 1: What I liked I didn't have to find a fast charger because it had enough range on it that I could plug it in at the house at night, let it charge overnight, drive it to work, plug it in at work, got enough to get back home and so it was fine for me.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: But the one thing that I want to point out to everybody just be very well aware of the infrastructure where you are.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: Do you have access to a fast charger?
• 3:49
Speaker 1: Do you have a charger at the house, a level two charger at the house?
• 3:53
Speaker 1: So I think all those things need to come into consideration.
• 3:56
Speaker 1: Ride and handling, smooth and compliant.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 4:00
Speaker 1: It's not a great corner carver, it's electric, it's heavy, so keep that in mind too.
• 4:07
Speaker 1: This is not a great corner carver.
• 4:09
Speaker 1: It's electric, it's heavy, so keep that in mind too.
• 4:10
Speaker 1: This is not a hot rod.
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: Base trim price 47 690.
• 4:12
Speaker 1: Prices tested 50 440, which I think is pretty good base model price.
• 4:18
Speaker 1: Now it's not going to get you the 289 miles of range.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: Base model price $39,590.
• 4:25
  Speaker 1: Competitors Hyundai Ioniq 5, $41,800.
• 4:30
Speaker 1: That's base model price.
• 4:32
Speaker 1: Same for the Kia EV9, $54,900.
• 4:35
Speaker 1: Or the VW ID.4, which we're going to talk about that and the buzz and VW stuff a little bit later on in the show $39,735, 735 overall.
• 4:46
Speaker 1: Pretty good high marks for an ev, and that is my review of the 2024 nissan aria.
• 4:54
Speaker 1: Go and check it out if you're looking very good looking for an electric vehicle.
• 4:59
Speaker 1: I have an electric that I'm driving now.
• 5:00
Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I saw that, yeah, it's the equinox EV and I like it a lot.
• 5:05
Speaker 2: I saw that too.
• 5:05
Speaker 2: I thought it was a Trax at first when I pulled up.
• 5:08
Speaker 2: Yeah no, and it's got lots of room.
• 5:09
Speaker 3: I got the Blazer EV right now and your remark about the infrastructure is absolutely spot on, because I had to make time for charging to get here and get back.
• 5:20
  Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: Hey, if you'd like to get in touch with us, shoot us an email.
• 5:42
Speaker 1: The address here is info at inwheeltimecom.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: Back after this, all right time now here on In Wheel Time for Jeff's feature this week.
• 6:00
Speaker 1: Drawbacks to owning a classic car.
• 6:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, owning a classic car can be a dream come true for many enthusiasts, but it also comes with its own set of challenges.
• 6:09
Speaker 2: So the first thing that comes to mind is high maintenance costs.
• 6:12
Speaker 2: Owning a classic car often involves higher maintenance costs.
• 6:15
Speaker 2: Parts can be rare and expensive, and finding a mechanic experienced in working on it is challenging as well.
• 6:21
Speaker 2: So regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brakes adjustments, carburetor tuning, and all of that is costly.
• 6:28
Speaker 2: So you've got high maintenance costs.
• 6:30
Speaker 2: Limited availability of those parts.
• 6:32
Speaker 2: Finding replacement parts for a classic car can be difficult due to their age, don and rarity.
• 6:37
Speaker 2: Many parts are no longer in production.
• 6:39
Speaker 2: Owners may need to source them from specialty suppliers, salvage jars or other collectors.
• 6:44
Speaker 2: Get on a network and find out what's going on that way.
• 6:46
Speaker 2: So parts are a problem.
• 6:49
Speaker 2: Lack of modern safety features.
• 6:50
Speaker 2: Classic cars lack that safety feature.
• 6:54
Speaker 2: Parts of the interior and why you want to do that?
• 6:58
Speaker 2: Airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and advanced driver assistance systems are no longer available.
• 7:03
Speaker 2: Some of those are just non-existent.
• 7:05
Speaker 2: The absence of these can be more dangerous to drive, especially in the event of an accident.
• 7:11
Speaker 2: So, beyond that, how are you going to store it?
• 7:13
  Speaker 2: Well, storage requirements.
• 7:15
Speaker 2: Proper storage is crucial for preventing a classic car's condition, preserving, I should say, a classic car's condition.
• 7:21
Speaker 2: These vehicles often require climate-controlled environment to prevent rust, mold and other forms of deterioration.
• 7:28
Speaker 2: Rot Rot and you've got animals, creatures and rodents and things like that, depending on where you store it.
• 7:33
Speaker 2: So be careful of that.
• 7:35
Speaker 2: Invest in specialized storage if you can.
• 7:37
Speaker 2: Next one would be reliability.
• 7:40
Speaker 2: If you've got reliability issues, Is that a Renault?
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: That's a.
• 7:44
  Speaker 2: Renault.
• 7:44
  Speaker 2: I think that's.
• 7:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be.
• 7:47
Speaker 2: It's a Renault, it used to be a Renault and I think it's like scrap now.
• 7:50
Speaker 2: Reliability of classic cars can be unpredictable due to their age and the potential for worn and outdated components.
• 8:00
Speaker 2: Vehicles may experience frequent breakdowns, especially if you're on tour or you're on a road or you're at a car function and you break down.
• 8:04
Speaker 2: How embarrassing is that?
• 8:05
Speaker 2: The next would be vulnerability to theft.
• 8:08
Speaker 2: Classic cars can be attractive targets for thieves due to their high value and demand and the ease of stealing one Exactly.
• 8:15
Speaker 2: Owners need to invest in additional security measures, such as alarms, tracking systems, secure storage area facilities to protect their investment, secure storage area facilities to protect their investment.
• 8:25
Speaker 2: So, beyond that, michael, you've got high depreciation risks.
• 8:30
Speaker 2: You've got lack of comfort in those vehicles.
• 8:33
Speaker 2: Are you driving it?
• 8:34
Speaker 2: Does the seat have cushion in it?
• 8:36
Speaker 2: Are you taking a date out for a nice cruise?
• 8:38
Speaker 2: The difficulty of finding a mechanic.
• 8:40
Speaker 2: Do you know a guy?
• 8:41
Speaker 2: Is it a guy that knows a guy or is it a?
• 8:45
Speaker 2: neighbor or something like that, or a professional repair, or are you going to be the moron know-it-all?
• 8:47
  Speaker 2: Poor handling?
• 8:48
Speaker 2: I mean, you got the proper tires, you got the proper suspension.
• 8:51
Speaker 2: Are you going to take it on long runs?
• 8:52
Speaker 2: Those are all to be considered as well.
• 8:54
Speaker 2: Legal and registration aspects how do you register it?
• 8:58
Speaker 2: How do you insure it?
• 8:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, so all of those can be an issue.
• 9:05
Speaker 2: So be careful, because hot rod season's coming up.
• 9:07
Speaker 2: Once we get past the first of the year.
• 9:09
Speaker 2: It's no holes barred.
• 9:10
Speaker 2: Let's get it done again.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: Well, I have to tell you that I when I decided that I was going to get in the show car business.
• 9:19
Speaker 1: Oh, and get the 77 corvette that I had driven for two, three years off the road and give it a million-dollar paint job and, you know, redo the interior.
• 9:29
Speaker 1: Ouch With only 35,000 miles on it.
• 9:31
Speaker 1: Ouch, I was looking for a car to drive.
• 9:34
Speaker 1: Well, my moronic self decided that he was going to go for the 56 or 57 Chevy pickup truck half-ton.
• 9:44
Speaker 1: Oh, that was basically a Restomod and one of the mechanics over at Richardson Chevrolet had dropped a small block V8 in it, had a three-speed automatic transmission in it and it had been painted not quite root beer brown, but as dark brown.
• 9:59
Speaker 1: Don't ever buy a brown car.
• 10:01
Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa, whoa, don't.
• 10:03
Speaker 2: I had a Cutlass that was brown.
• 10:04
Speaker 2: It was chestnut brown from Cadillac paint, chestnut brown and it was gorgeous, okay.
• 10:09
Speaker 1: Well, you stay with that thing.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, you keep that your brown car.
• 10:12
Speaker 1: I'm not buying any brown cars ever again.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: It's kind of like buying a green race car Ain't going to happen.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: Anyway, I bought this thing so, you know, had all the bugs worked out of it.
• 10:23
Speaker 1: Baloney, it did not.
• 10:25
Speaker 1: It was a total pain in my side.
• 10:28
Speaker 1: I spent more time keeping that car truck running for me to get back and forth to work in than I did with the Corvette.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: It was a pain, but you wanted it.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: Well, it looked cool.
• 10:40
Speaker 1: It was a dream car at the time.
• 10:41
  Speaker 2: No, it wasn't a dream car, it was a fill-the.
• 10:43
  Speaker 2: You wanted it.
• 10:43
Speaker 2: Well, it looked cool.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: It was a dream car at the time.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: No, it wasn't a dream car.
• 10:46
Speaker 1: It was a fill-the-gap car, gotcha.
• 10:51
Speaker 2: I've had a couple of those.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: Did we miss that?
• 11:05
  Speaker 1: We did?
• 11:05
Speaker 1: Oh, no, we didn't.
• 11:07
  Speaker 2: Go for it.
• 11:07
  Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
• 11:08
Speaker 2: Oh wait, now I've got to back it up.
• 11:10
  Speaker 2: Back what up.
• 11:12
Speaker 1: Back up the bus.
• 11:15
Speaker 3: Well, somebody needs to keep me in mind here well, you were on the right track it just we moved I know, just do it down, just do it so we're talking I'm going to be talking about the 2024 jeep.
• 11:25
Speaker 3: Now this is the jeep rubicon 392, final edition 4x4, and I say it like that because that's the name of it.
• 11:32
Speaker 3: The jeep this year, 2024, comes in nine trim levels starts at the sport, which is the basic one.
• 11:38
Speaker 3: It goes all the way up to the one we're reviewing Now.
• 11:40
  Speaker 3: There is a Rubicon 392.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: That was the top trim level, but this steps it up one more notch for this year.
• 11:47
Speaker 3: This is considered a small SUV, four-wheel drive.
• 11:50
Speaker 3: It is a Jeep.
• 11:51
Speaker 3: It is a very focused off-road vehicle.
• 11:53
Speaker 3: Every Jeep person from the factory, they live the Jeep, they know it inside and out.
• 11:58
  Speaker 3: They're all about.
• 11:59
Speaker 3: The jeep comes with five seats and, uh, on the exterior, on it you're going to find absolutely the seven slot grill.
• 12:06
Speaker 3: But you're also going to find logos.
• 12:07
Speaker 3: For the 392, final edition trim level got a 392 special suspension on.
• 12:12
Speaker 3: It's got wheel flares on it.
• 12:14
Speaker 3: It's got a one touch power top top that comes off.
• 12:17
Speaker 3: It's got a functional air intake.
• 12:18
Speaker 3: It it's got a one-touch power top that comes off.
• 12:18
Speaker 3: It's got a functional air intake hood.
• 12:20
Speaker 3: That looks really cool for that 392.
• 12:22
Speaker 3: You're going to find skid plates under the transfer case.
• 12:26
Speaker 3: It's got the shocks, it's got the worn winch, it's got the heavy-duty rock sliders with a step.
• 12:31
Speaker 3: Now, really for me, because it's the 392 suspension, it's up high.
• 12:35
Speaker 3: I got to use the grab bar to get up in this thing.
• 12:39
Speaker 3: I would really like to have a step.
• 12:40
Speaker 3: We don't care, grandpa, I know you're four foot nothing, but I used that part of it, so it, but it works really well.
• 12:45
Speaker 3: I can see where they would keep you off the rocks 17 by 8 inch bead lock capable wheels that are on this thing.
• 12:51
Speaker 3: It's really set up to go off road with a lot of power.
• 12:55
Speaker 3: Inside you're going to find Napa leather seats the front seats are heated, obviously Got 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 screen in the middle of the dash.
• 13:03
Speaker 3: Now, this is where you're going to find your nav.
• 13:05
Speaker 3: You're going to find all your convenience controls, your camera monitors that you can switch from the front to the back.
• 13:10
Speaker 3: The driver has a 7-inch driver screen that's configurable so that you can get what you want as far as that, what the car is doing and how it's doing.
• 13:19
Speaker 3: Android, auto, apple, carplay, usbs, window controls.
• 13:24
Speaker 3: They're all in that center console.
• 13:25
Speaker 3: You got to kind of look for them because they're not on the door, because the doors are removable.
• 13:30
Speaker 3: Take the doors off, take the top off.
• 13:32
Speaker 3: Now the tailgate is swings open, obviously, but it has.
• 13:38
Speaker 3: I think somebody went through the entire Mopar accessory catalog because this has got the fold-down table that comes on it with the cup holders.
• 13:45
Speaker 3: It's got a compressor built into it.
• 13:46
Speaker 3: It's got the Jeep toolbox kit.
• 13:48
Speaker 3: I mean, it's just got lots of things built into this car for the 392 edition.
• 13:52
Speaker 3: But the really good thing is up under the hood 6.4 liter V8, 470 horsepower, 470 pound-feet of torque, with an 8-speed automatic transmission and it has something called a performance exhaust.
• 14:06
Speaker 3: You push a button and the exhaust just triples in the sound of it and it's really cool.
• 14:10
Speaker 3: Sit on the front porch and just start it by the remote stop, start, stop, start, just to listen to it.
• 14:16
Speaker 3: It by the remote stop, start, stop, start, just to listen to it.
• 14:22
Speaker 3: Now, co-rating it'll tow 3,500 pounds and it'll haul a thousand pounds on it.
• 14:25
Speaker 3: Now the epa says a vehicle like this used to be looking for 13 in the city, 16 on the highway, 14 combined, and he got.
• 14:30
Speaker 3: Drove it 347 miles and I got 13.2 miles to the gallon, which I thought was really good, once I found out there's actually a 456 gear in the rear end of this thing.
• 14:41
Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, it's geared up for some serious rock crawling now.
• 14:45
  Speaker 3: It's got a 21 gallon tank but 456 gear.
• 14:48
Speaker 3: You're not going to go that far in on the highway to drive this thing because it's got the big tires.
• 14:53
Speaker 3: They'll pretty much roll over anything and there's enough sidewall.
• 14:57
Speaker 3: The bumps and stuff are absorbed really well and it's surprising how well it runs and drives and it absorbs all that in the city.
• 15:04
Speaker 3: It's small, it's got plenty of power.
• 15:05
Speaker 3: You can turn, it works great.
• 15:07
Speaker 3: Sport model starts at 33 890.
• 15:11
Speaker 3: The base trim price on the 392 is 91 5,545.
• 15:16
Speaker 3: What the MSRP as tested, and this is one of those that I wish I had the money to buy one.
• 15:22
Speaker 3: What $108,475 for a Jeep from the factory.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?
• 15:31
Speaker 3: It'll go just about any place you want to go, I assure you.
• 15:34
  Speaker 3: For $108,000?
• 15:36
Speaker 3: It's 6,100 pounds, but it's got power to move it.
• 15:40
Speaker 3: Competitor, you might look at a Ford Bronco.
• 15:42
Speaker 3: It starts at $39,630.
• 15:44
Speaker 3: The Toyota 4-wheel runner is at $40,705.
• 15:47
Speaker 3: But really and truly there's nothing that compares with a Jeep and the capabilities of it, unless you're getting into the $200,000 range.
• 15:55
Speaker 1: Oh my God, I loved it.
• 15:57
  Speaker 1: I loved it.
• 15:58
Speaker 1: I'm sure you did.
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: I guess I would too.
• 16:00
Speaker 1: All right, bye, bye, bye.
• 16:09
  Speaker 1: Thank you.
