Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:07Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: Kate Torber. I'm Sophie Torber. And I'm Amy Torber and
- 0:13Speaker 1: coming up on today's show, Allure's former owner Olivia O'Neill
- 0:18Speaker 1: responds to those wild allegations. Kristen Zanoni sparks a risky
- 0:22Speaker 1: guessing game after sharing shocking cheating allegations and and Molly
- 0:27Speaker 1: May's full circle moment. But first, Bec Judd has revealed
- 0:31Speaker 1: the lengths she went to to hide the fact her
- 0:33Speaker 1: parents were diehard West Coast Eagle fans from her then-boyfriend,
- 0:37Speaker 1: Chris Judd. The former speech pathologist who started dating the
- 0:40Speaker 1: Eagles star at just 19 revealed she made her parents
- 0:44Speaker 1: remove all their footy memorabilia from the house. Now, Soph,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Bec made this recent confession on her podcast, Vanish. Yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: that's right. And she didn't hold back in this episode,
- 0:53Speaker 1: which I love because We're talking about diehard West Coast
- 0:55Speaker 1: Eagles fans. I'm a diehard Beck Judd fan. For some reason,
- 0:58Speaker 1: I have loved her from day dot. You always question
- 1:00Speaker 1: me why, Amy, and I can't give you a proper answer.
- 1:03Speaker 1: There's just something about her. I love her hair. I
- 1:06Speaker 1: know that sounds silly, but I just... I love her style.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I love her hair. I think because when I was
- 1:10Speaker 1: a teenager, I wished I was a wag as well.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Maybe some sort of something to do with that. The
- 1:14Speaker 1: whole wag thing's weird to me because I know what
- 1:16Speaker 1: you mean. I really like Bec Judd too, but I
- 1:19Speaker 1: never knew much about her until now. It's like you
- 1:22Speaker 1: knew who they were, but you didn't really know their personalities.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's like when I heard Nadia Bartel's voice for the
- 1:27Speaker 1: first time and I was taken back. It's sort of
- 1:28Speaker 1: like when you hear a princess's voice and you're like,
- 1:31Speaker 1: hold on, you don't usually speak. They speak. Yeah. They
- 1:34Speaker 1: have an opinion. And I love them even more now
- 1:35Speaker 1: that I know who they are. And they're not just
- 1:37Speaker 1: these clothes horses. But anyway, getting into what Bec said,
- 1:40Speaker 1: as I said, she didn't hold back because she was
- 1:43Speaker 1: talking about how she had had boyfriends in the past,
- 1:46Speaker 1: but she didn't really ever love any of them. They
- 1:48Speaker 1: just seemed to be sort of around because she thought
- 1:50Speaker 1: she had to have a boyfriend. And she said it
- 1:52Speaker 1: was kind of confusing for her because she was modelling
- 1:55Speaker 1: overseas and she was living with all these hot models.
- 1:57Speaker 1: but she just didn't like any of them. And she
- 1:59Speaker 1: said she had this conversation with her mom where she
- 2:01Speaker 1: was like, I'm confused. I'm around all these good looking guys,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but I feel nothing. And her mom was like, babe,
- 2:07Speaker 1: it's okay. Are you a lesbian? And she was like, no.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And it wasn't until she met Chris Judd that she
- 2:13Speaker 1: was like, wow, this is true love. She said she
- 2:15Speaker 1: fell in love with him the first time she met
- 2:17Speaker 1: him at the cot, which is their Sunday session over there.
- 2:20Speaker 1: For any Adelaide listeners, it's literally the grand back in
- 2:23Speaker 1: the day. But did she fall in love with him
- 2:25Speaker 1: because her parents were diehard West Coast Eagles fans? Like,
- 2:27Speaker 1: did she know who he was? That's what I was
- 2:29Speaker 1: thinking because we actually did a deep dive on Bec Jard,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I think it was a few years ago, and we
- 2:34Speaker 1: detailed their meeting at the cop. But I just assumed
- 2:37Speaker 1: that she didn't know who he was and that she
- 2:39Speaker 1: definitely knew. It was funny because her co-host was saying, oh, so–
- 2:43Speaker 1: was the cot just where all the footy players hung out.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And Beck was trying to talk it down and be like, no, no, no,
- 2:47Speaker 1: just everyone was there. But it was quite clear that
- 2:49Speaker 1: she knew her way around that venue because apparently there's
- 2:52Speaker 1: all these different sections. So the top bit was where
- 2:55Speaker 1: all the VIPs hung out and she knew the door
- 2:57Speaker 1: bitch's name by heart. It was Jane. And she said
- 2:59Speaker 1: that she always had to try and smooth her basically
- 3:01Speaker 1: so she could get upstairs where all the footy players were.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Let's be real. Back in the day, most girls at
- 3:08Speaker 1: 19 were wanting to hang out at bars where footy
- 3:10Speaker 1: players were. Like, let's not judge. Oh, we were all there,
- 3:13Speaker 1: weren't we? Pretending you didn't know who they were. I
- 3:15Speaker 1: don't want to hang us out to dry, but there
- 3:16Speaker 1: is a bit of distance in between what happened. It
- 3:18Speaker 1: was like 15 years ago, but we used to go
- 3:20Speaker 1: to nightclubs like the Grand or the Marble Bar and
- 3:24Speaker 1: you had to pay back in the day to get
- 3:25Speaker 1: into places like the marble bar. So we used to
- 3:28Speaker 1: pay for one of us to get in. We'd do
- 3:29Speaker 1: a bit of a lap and see if there was
- 3:31Speaker 1: any footy players or anyone decent there and then come
- 3:33Speaker 1: back out and report. Can I just defend ourselves though?
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's because the footy players were hot. Like it's not
- 3:38Speaker 1: that we knew exactly who they were. It was like,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you'd go in and see who was hot at the,
- 3:42Speaker 1: like if it was worth going in. It's funny how
- 3:44Speaker 1: naive some men are because it sort of reminds me
- 3:46Speaker 1: of the mastermind song that Taylor Swift did. It's like,
- 3:49Speaker 1: you might not think you're chasing them, but Sometimes girls
- 3:53Speaker 1: will put themselves in a situation like Bec Judd did
- 3:55Speaker 1: where she knew where Chris Judd was going to be.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You know, all the footy players were up on the
- 3:59Speaker 1: VIP deck and you just put yourself there and you
- 4:01Speaker 1: see what happens. You don't automatically chase them, but you
- 4:04Speaker 1: do manipulate the situation to see what happens. Well, it's
- 4:06Speaker 1: like Bec. She was trying to play it cool and
- 4:08Speaker 1: pretend that she wasn't interested in the fact that Chris
- 4:11Speaker 1: played footy. She didn't really know much about it. Meanwhile,
- 4:14Speaker 1: her parents are massive fans. Her mum is literally raising
- 4:17Speaker 1: a West Coast Eagles flag. on the weekends when they win.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Sounds like our family with the Crows. Yeah, our dad
- 4:22Speaker 1: would do that on the weekends. I feel the most
- 4:24Speaker 1: for her sister. She really hung her out to dry.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So she admitted that her sister was such a big
- 4:30Speaker 1: fan that she got personalised West Coast Eagles plates on
- 4:33Speaker 1: her car with the number plate WCE with the number
- 4:37Speaker 1: 027 for her favourite player at the time, Glenn Jackovich. Oh,
- 4:41Speaker 1: at least it wasn't Chris Judd's number. Well, to be fair,
- 4:43Speaker 1: her sister was 17 at the time. To top it off,
- 4:46Speaker 1: there were all these West Coast Eagles stickers all over it.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And it was funny because Chris was like, oh, so, Bec,
- 4:51Speaker 1: can I come over to your house for dinner one night?
- 4:54Speaker 1: And so she read the right act to her parents.
- 4:56Speaker 1: She was like, that fucking car's got to be around
- 4:58Speaker 1: the corner. Don't park it anywhere. Let's have a listen
- 5:01Speaker 1: to more of what she said.
- 5:03Speaker 2: No way is he coming over to the Naughty house.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Because up until.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Then, I don't know if he realised how naff-naff they were.
- 5:10Speaker 1: They were. So I was trying to play it cool, right?
- 5:13Speaker 1: Never really spoke about footy with him. Didn't want to
- 5:15Speaker 1: come across as enough. Your AI kicked in. Your emotional
- 5:18Speaker 1: challenges kicked in. So.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I don't know who you are. Who are you? Who
- 5:23Speaker 2: are you?
- 5:23Speaker 1: What are you doing? So anyway, he wanted to come
- 5:26Speaker 1: over for dinner. I'm like, shit, shit.
- 5:28Speaker 2: This is so embarrassing. Oh, gosh, he's going to realise that.
- 5:30Speaker 2: He's not going to want to be with me anymore.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So I said to Mum, take down the flag. Kate,
- 5:35Speaker 2: he's coming over for dinner. Get your car, park it
- 5:38Speaker 2: down the block around the corner.
- 5:40Speaker 1: He's not to know that.
- 5:41Speaker 2: That car is associated with our family.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Oh, my God. And Mum's like, Bec, just relax.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I'm like, no, no, he's not coming into the house
- 5:47Speaker 2: with the West Coast Eagles flag flying in the front yard.
- 5:49Speaker 1: So I was like, shit, he's coming. And then I
- 5:54Speaker 1: said to my family.
- 5:55Speaker 2: When he comes over for dinner, no one is allowed
- 5:57Speaker 2: to mention anything about football.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You are not allowed to say anything about the.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Game, about training, about growing up playing football. It's like football.
- 6:07Speaker 2: AFL does not exist in the world. Do not mention it.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Luckily for Bec, her parents played it really cool and
- 6:13Speaker 1: they didn't ask him one question about football. She said
- 6:16Speaker 1: over time, though, Chris started to realise what big fans
- 6:20Speaker 1: they were. But by then he was already so in
- 6:22Speaker 1: love with her that he didn't care. I can just
- 6:25Speaker 1: imagine them going to get him a cup of coffee
- 6:26Speaker 1: and it's in a West Coast Eagles cup and they're like, fuck,
- 6:29Speaker 1: put it this way. I feel for the sister, though.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Can you imagine how jealous she would have been? The
- 6:33Speaker 1: thing is I think that Bec was a huge West
- 6:35Speaker 1: Coast Eagles fan too. She was trying to lay out
- 6:36Speaker 1: on her sister. She's like... oh, my sister was always
- 6:39Speaker 1: big fans of things. Like she loved Hanson and went
- 6:41Speaker 1: out and bought all the memorabilia and I just sort
- 6:43Speaker 1: of went along with it. Babe, you're the older sister.
- 6:46Speaker 1: You're the one who creates the fandom. It's not her.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'd like to hear her sister's side of the story.
- 6:52Speaker 1: It actually turned out to be their share car. Turning
- 6:55Speaker 1: up to the cot in that one. This reminds me
- 6:56Speaker 1: of back in the day when we invited Kate's now
- 7:00Speaker 1: ex-boyfriend over. He wasn't her boyfriend at the time. And
- 7:03Speaker 1: he had a brother who used to play for the Crows.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So they came over for this dinner party and it was,
- 7:07Speaker 1: we were living at home at the time. And we
- 7:09Speaker 1: told our mum and dad, you need to be out
- 7:11Speaker 1: of the house. Don't talk to them. Don't say anything
- 7:14Speaker 1: to the brother about football. Just say nothing. I thought
- 7:17Speaker 1: we made them stay in their room the whole time. No,
- 7:18Speaker 1: they got back from something and we forced them to
- 7:21Speaker 1: stay in their room. I think mum did make her
- 7:23Speaker 1: way down at some stage. And her first question was,
- 7:25Speaker 1: how's the footy going? I think we moved out of
- 7:27Speaker 1: home shortly after this incident. It was the worst thing
- 7:31Speaker 1: is we got invited to his brother's party to launch
- 7:35Speaker 1: his business. And there were all these Crows players there
- 7:37Speaker 1: and being diehards, we used to go to Crows trainings.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And I think a couple of them are like, you
- 7:41Speaker 1: guys look really familiar. I'm like, Oh, I don't know
- 7:44Speaker 1: where we would have seen you before. What was your
- 7:46Speaker 1: name again? Um, Influencer Kristen Zanoni has sparked a risky
- 7:51Speaker 1: guessing game after sharing shocking cheating allegations on her Instagram story.
- 7:56Speaker 1: For legal reasons, we can't disclose her exact claims. But
- 8:00Speaker 1: what we can tell you is she alleges the incident
- 8:03Speaker 1: took place on the controversial Snatched Waste brand trip. Kate,
- 8:06Speaker 1: before we get into the drama, can you get listeners
- 8:08Speaker 1: up to speed with who Kristen is? Yeah, well, ironically,
- 8:11Speaker 1: she's actually best known for being at the center of
- 8:13Speaker 1: a cheating allegation herself. So she hooked up with Gary
- 8:17Speaker 1: Beadle when he was in a relationship with Lily Lexi Gregg. Now,
- 8:20Speaker 1: that drama played out on Ex on the Beach with
- 8:23Speaker 1: Kristen's arrival causing a lot of drama. I actually remember
- 8:26Speaker 1: that series quite well. Now, Gary was forced to admit
- 8:29Speaker 1: he cheated with Kristen. And it became really awkward because
- 8:32Speaker 1: Lily's other ex, Stephen Bear, was also on the show.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And Kristen ended up hooking up with him too. If
- 8:38Speaker 1: I was Lily, I'd be like, do you want to
- 8:39Speaker 1: wear my skin too? Like just going after every single
- 8:41Speaker 1: ex I've been with. It's so weird because remember Charlotte Crosby,
- 8:44Speaker 1: of course, dated Gary Beadle. And then she also dated
- 8:47Speaker 1: Stephen Bear. So I was like, so incestuous. Is it
- 8:49Speaker 1: just the bad boy? You know what I mean? That's
- 8:52Speaker 1: sort of who they clearly go for. And also the
- 8:54Speaker 1: reason this was such a big deal was because Gary
- 8:57Speaker 1: Beadle was in a very serious relationship with Lily Lexi Gregg.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Everyone was like, oh, this is end game for him.
- 9:03Speaker 1: He's never treated a girl like this before. So it
- 9:04Speaker 1: was a real shock to find out that he had
- 9:06Speaker 1: actually also cheated on her. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Well,
- 9:10Speaker 1: Kristen actually went on to appear on Australian's version of
- 9:13Speaker 1: Geordie Shore, which is called Aussie Shore. And she now
- 9:15Speaker 1: shares lifestyle content on Instagram and has around 134,000 followers.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Does anyone actually watch these shows anymore? Like I remember
- 9:22Speaker 1: 15 years ago, it was like everything. I loved watching
- 9:25Speaker 1: Jersey Shore. I love Geordie Shore. And I've just seen
- 9:27Speaker 1: they've got a whole new cast for a new series
- 9:30Speaker 1: of Jersey Shore. And everyone's like, you're never going to
- 9:33Speaker 1: be able to replicate the magic that was Jersey Shore.
- 9:35Speaker 1: That was like a, well, not a once in a lifetime. Well,
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think some people only watch it on TikTok snippets.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Like that's how they keep up to date with it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: A bit like Love Island. I think some of the
- 9:45Speaker 1: shows just need to be retired for a bit and
- 9:47Speaker 1: then brought back. It's like, I'm now obsessed with fucking MKR.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Hadn't watched the show in 10 years. I'm like, oh,
- 9:52Speaker 1: this is why I love it. I've got the nostalgia
- 9:54Speaker 1: over it. Do you think it's also because the younger
- 9:55Speaker 1: generation don't really party and drink anymore that it's not relevant? Because,
- 9:59Speaker 1: you know, they're all about going on their run clubs
- 10:01Speaker 1: on Saturday morning and having marches rather than getting pissed
- 10:03Speaker 1: at the pub. That's true. I also think it's just
- 10:06Speaker 1: because people are trying to replicate. the Snookies and the
- 10:09Speaker 1: JWoww moments. And also back then reality TV was fairly new.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So people were doing more outrageous things. They weren't as
- 10:15Speaker 1: concerned about it. They didn't know they were going to
- 10:17Speaker 1: be that famous off it. And that was the beauty
- 10:19Speaker 1: of the show. These people go on it for fun.
- 10:20Speaker 1: They weren't going on it for social media followers.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Instagram has literally ruined reality TV because everyone's a clout
- 10:27Speaker 1: chaser now. Everyone just wants to be famous off there. Hmm.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Now let's get into the drama. So Kristen was one
- 10:32Speaker 1: of the 10 Australian influencers who got her ribs recontoured
- 10:36Speaker 1: on the controversial Snatchways Bali trip back in June. And
- 10:39Speaker 1: she claims that cheating took place on this brand trip
- 10:43Speaker 1: and involved an unnamed TV personality. Now we are being
- 10:46Speaker 1: very careful with what we say here. While she didn't
- 10:49Speaker 1: name the woman... By saying it was someone who was
- 10:52Speaker 1: on a well-known TV show, this really narrowed it down
- 10:55Speaker 1: to just a small number of women that was on
- 10:57Speaker 1: the trip. And this, of course, has led to people
- 10:59Speaker 1: online trying to work out who it is and guess
- 11:02Speaker 1: who she's talking about. Now, three of the women who
- 11:04Speaker 1: were on the trip have already denied the claims to
- 11:06Speaker 1: the Daily Mail. Beck and Athena of Maths, as well
- 11:09Speaker 1: as Kimberly White, categorically denied the allegations. Kimberly said, I
- 11:14Speaker 1: was invited to Bali with all the girls. I took
- 11:16Speaker 1: my husband and children away on the trip with me,
- 11:18Speaker 1: but I can 100% confirm that there were no extra
- 11:21Speaker 1: bodies jumping into my bed at night. Laugh out loud. Now,
- 11:24Speaker 1: Beck and Athena have also said they had nothing to
- 11:26Speaker 1: do with the allegations with one accusing Kristen of clout chasing.
- 11:30Speaker 1: This is really becoming such a huge issue with social media.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Influencers are getting fired up about something and going online
- 11:37Speaker 1: and they forget that that defamation laws apply to anything
- 11:41Speaker 1: that they post. I feel like we're dancing around what's
- 11:43Speaker 1: allegedly happened here, but I'm sure a lot of people
- 11:45Speaker 1: listening have seen her story and do feel a bit
- 11:47Speaker 1: sorry for her if these allegations are true, because it's
- 11:49Speaker 1: pretty fucked what she's claiming. But the thing is, she
- 11:52Speaker 1: has really opened herself up to a lawsuit because under
- 11:54Speaker 1: Australian defamation law, you don't necessarily have to name someone
- 11:58Speaker 1: for them to argue that they've been defamed. So if
- 12:00Speaker 1: you can work out who the person is by the
- 12:03Speaker 1: clues that they've dropped, then you could have a lawsuit
- 12:06Speaker 1: on your hands. But the issue is that you can't
- 12:09Speaker 1: work out who it specifically is. So a number of
- 12:12Speaker 1: women have potentially been defamed in this because she has
- 12:15Speaker 1: said there was cheating going on with someone off a
- 12:17Speaker 1: TV show. Well, five of the women were on TV
- 12:19Speaker 1: shows and they now potentially have a defamation case because
- 12:23Speaker 1: they're like, wait a sec, anyone could think that that
- 12:25Speaker 1: was me. It would have been better for her to
- 12:26Speaker 1: come out and say it was this person who was
- 12:29Speaker 1: involved in this cheating allegation. Well, poor Kimberley, she's trying
- 12:33Speaker 1: to have this wholesome trip with her husband and kids
- 12:34Speaker 1: there and she's being brought into the equation. Wholesome trip? What,
- 12:37Speaker 1: getting her ribs contoured?
- 12:38Speaker 2: True, true.
- 12:39Speaker 1: She's trying to recover from her extreme rib contouring surgery
- 12:42Speaker 1: just to... Hold on, but also if people are having surgery,
- 12:45Speaker 1: is there really time for cheating to go on?
- 12:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 12:48Speaker 1: It's not the most, you know. Are they all bandaged
- 12:50Speaker 1: up and recovering? The brand's probably thrilled. It's like, see,
- 12:52Speaker 1: it's so non-invasive that people are hooking up on the
- 12:55Speaker 1: trip that aren't meant to be. Well, that's if the
- 12:56Speaker 1: allegations are true. I mean, obviously when it comes to
- 12:59Speaker 1: this potential defamation lawsuit, there are other factors at play.
- 13:03Speaker 1: So if Kristen... could prove that the allegations were true
- 13:07Speaker 1: and she could substantiate them, then, you know, she doesn't
- 13:09Speaker 1: have to worry too much. But that's if she'd named
- 13:12Speaker 1: the person specifically, but she's actually cast doubt over five
- 13:15Speaker 1: different women. This is the thing from what she said.
- 13:18Speaker 1: It sounds like she can prove it quite easily. Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 1: she could prove it, but she has inadvertently potentially defamed
- 13:25Speaker 1: four other people, which she doesn't have proof of them
- 13:27Speaker 1: doing anything. It's clear she doesn't really have a grasp
- 13:30Speaker 1: on defamation law because when the Daily Mail asked her
- 13:33Speaker 1: for comments, she apparently said, Can I just not have
- 13:36Speaker 1: a rant on the internet about my feelings? Who cares
- 13:38Speaker 1: who it was? It was still wrong and I'm never
- 13:40Speaker 1: going to say who it was. If you post an
- 13:42Speaker 1: article saying it was someone, I can get defamation. I
- 13:45Speaker 1: never said who it was. There were multiple people there
- 13:47Speaker 1: from TV shows. Like, honey, that's the issue. Also, obviously
- 13:50Speaker 1: not media trained because she should have said what I'm
- 13:53Speaker 1: saying is off the record because they just quoted her.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Like she obviously didn't want that printed in the article. Well,
- 13:59Speaker 1: on Thursday she released her own statement on Instagram which said,
- 14:02Speaker 1: I shared something on my personal Instagram in a moment
- 14:05Speaker 1: of genuine hurt and betrayal. I was emotional trying to
- 14:08Speaker 1: process what had happened and never intended for it to
- 14:10Speaker 1: go beyond my own platform, let alone become a media spectacle.
- 14:15Speaker 1: To then have that situation taken to the media with
- 14:17Speaker 1: my character question and my pain turned into a public
- 14:20Speaker 1: narrative has been incredibly hurtful, as if the betrayal itself
- 14:24Speaker 1: wasn't painful enough. Now, I'm sorry, but you are the
- 14:27Speaker 1: one who's made this public spectacle by jumping on Instagram
- 14:30Speaker 1: and divulging about it. Wait a sec. When she says
- 14:32Speaker 1: my personal Instagram, did she put it on close friends? No,
- 14:35Speaker 1: it wasn't. It was to 134,000 followers. What do you
- 14:38Speaker 1: think is going to happen? Everyone loves a good old
- 14:40Speaker 1: cheating story. I only shared it with my 136,000 followers.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Close personal friends on a public page. And it's down
- 14:47Speaker 1: to you who've chosen to talk about it. How dare you? Yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: the other day there was an influencer, and I won't
- 14:51Speaker 1: name her, but she came out on an Instagram story
- 14:53Speaker 1: absolutely blasting her husband. She's like, he's not the man
- 14:56Speaker 1: he says he is. He's been off with sex workers, blah, blah, blah.
- 14:59Speaker 1: And then it was like five minutes later it was like,
- 15:01Speaker 1: I apologise for the comments I made about my husband.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Quite immature of me. Look, all partners are on warning,
- 15:07Speaker 1: aren't they? If you're going to act like a dirty dog,
- 15:09Speaker 1: you're going to get called out on Instagram. It's kind
- 15:11Speaker 1: of like when Molly May all of a sudden just
- 15:12Speaker 1: decided to dump Tommy on Instagram. Oh, not quite as bad. No,
- 15:17Speaker 1: but it's like I feel like people think if they
- 15:19Speaker 1: put it on Instagram story, it's sort of holding themselves
- 15:23Speaker 1: to account. Like, oh, I'm going to dump this person.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'm not going back to this person. See, I feel
- 15:26Speaker 1: like that when people post on Instagram story, it's a
- 15:28Speaker 1: bit of a soft launch because it deletes. Whereas if
- 15:31Speaker 1: you post it on your grid and maybe that's what
- 15:33Speaker 1: Kristen was thinking. I only put this on my story.
- 15:35Speaker 1: I wasn't on a reel or a grid. Well, she
- 15:38Speaker 1: went on to say that she never asked for this
- 15:39Speaker 1: level of public attention. And she said she shared her
- 15:42Speaker 1: feelings because she was hurting, not because she wanted to
- 15:44Speaker 1: make headlines. She probably did just have some blackout rage
- 15:48Speaker 1: and do it, to be fair. But I think it's
- 15:50Speaker 1: a bit naive to say that you didn't think that
- 15:52Speaker 1: this was going to get people talking. We're living in
- 15:54Speaker 1: such a weird world, though, where people have to seek constant, like,
- 16:00Speaker 1: not even just praise, but sympathy online. Like something happens
- 16:03Speaker 1: and they can't just ring up their friend. They have
- 16:05Speaker 1: to publicly share about it. Also, there's a close friends button.
- 16:08Speaker 1: You know what I mean? If you really don't want
- 16:09Speaker 1: everyone knowing, put it on there. The issue with close
- 16:12Speaker 1: friends is every influencer who posts something like this on
- 16:15Speaker 1: their close friends gets it leaked. Gets it leaked anyway.
- 16:19Speaker 1: That's the defamation laws though. Actually, I've got a question.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So I've got a close friends list and it's basically
- 16:25Speaker 1: just people I actually know in real life. But I
- 16:29Speaker 1: felt awkward when I was making the close friends list
- 16:32Speaker 1: because Often when I've popped up, like say I'm friends
- 16:35Speaker 1: with someone and then it says that I'm part of
- 16:36Speaker 1: their close friends, I feel like, oh, am I? Yes,
- 16:39Speaker 1: I felt the same too. I felt embarrassed to have
- 16:42Speaker 1: certain people on there. But I just, yeah, when I
- 16:45Speaker 1: went through my list, I'm like, do I know this
- 16:46Speaker 1: person in real life? Yes. Are they nice?
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:48Speaker 1: All right. And this was more if I wanted to
- 16:49Speaker 1: ever share... pictures of Harry or whatever. I was like, oh,
- 16:52Speaker 1: I'm just sharing them to people that I know. But yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 1: do you think that in order for someone to be
- 16:57Speaker 1: on your close friends list, do you consider that person
- 16:59Speaker 1: a really close friend or just someone that you know
- 17:01Speaker 1: in real life? You know what, I think it depends
- 17:02Speaker 1: on what you're planning on sharing on your close friends list.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Like if you're a Gen Z in your early 20s
- 17:07Speaker 1: and you're probably sharing embarrassing drunk videos and that sort
- 17:10Speaker 1: of thing, maybe make sure it's your close, you know,
- 17:13Speaker 1: intimate circle of friends. But if you're in your 30s
- 17:15Speaker 1: and you're just sort of sharing, you know, family stuff
- 17:17Speaker 1: and Make sure it's people you know in real life.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Can they just change the tag of it not to
- 17:21Speaker 1: close friends? Can they change it to something else like
- 17:24Speaker 1: my smaller community or I don't know. I don't think
- 17:26Speaker 1: it quite sounds as good though. I think it depends
- 17:28Speaker 1: how many followers you've got. So for influencers who have
- 17:31Speaker 1: following counts in the thousands and hundreds of thousands, then
- 17:35Speaker 1: obviously their close friends list might be bigger. It might
- 17:39Speaker 1: actually be who a normal person would have them follow
- 17:41Speaker 1: on Instagram, like 300 people. I hate the term normal persons. Well,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I'm just saying an everyday person. Some normal person. Some
- 17:49Speaker 1: normal scum of the earth. Some normie. I actually find
- 17:51Speaker 1: it more offensive when you guys would refer to people
- 17:53Speaker 1: as normies, like that girl that dated Matt Zakowski. I
- 17:55Speaker 1: thought you were going to say the one that dated
- 17:57Speaker 1: Zac Efron. That's where the term came from. I feel
- 17:58Speaker 1: like shameless always birthed that term. No, I mean, it's fine.
- 18:01Speaker 1: But it's like, imagine being talked about on a podcast.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's like, I've made it. I'm dating Zac Efron. And
- 18:06Speaker 1: they're like, A normal, like a normie girl. You know
- 18:09Speaker 1: what though? I think it's changed when you call them
- 18:11Speaker 1: a hot normie. Yeah. Because you're like, I'm so attractive
- 18:14Speaker 1: that even though I'm not famous and have no profile,
- 18:17Speaker 1: this absolute superstar wants to date me. I mean, I
- 18:19Speaker 1: don't think you're feeling down in yourself if you're dating
- 18:21Speaker 1: Zac Efron anyway. No, no. There's something quite degrading about
- 18:25Speaker 1: it though, I feel. Being called a normie. Yeah. Justice
- 18:28Speaker 1: for the normies.
- 18:30Speaker 4: It's now just been flipped that I did this and
- 18:32Speaker 4: they were like, please stop.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Like, what are you doing?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Olivia O'Neill is set to share her side of the
- 18:38Speaker 1: allure business drama in a sit-down YouTube video. The former
- 18:42Speaker 1: co-owner of the loungewear company has been working on a
- 18:45Speaker 1: response while she's been holidaying in Bali with Sky Whitley.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Gotta hope Sky Whitley's not helping her with that one. Now, Kate,
- 18:50Speaker 1: we dove into the allure drama on last week's episode,
- 18:53Speaker 1: but for those who missed it, can you bring us
- 18:55Speaker 1: up to speed? Okay, so from a top level, micro-influencers
- 18:59Speaker 1: Olivia and her best friend Ebony McLeese are ran a
- 19:02Speaker 1: loungewear company. When you say they're micro influencers, I was
- 19:04Speaker 1: quite stunned to click on Olivia's page and realize she
- 19:07Speaker 1: only had 4,000 followers. So they are very micro. She's
- 19:10Speaker 1: got more on TikTok. She's got around, I think, 17,000
- 19:14Speaker 1: on TikTok. Oh, that's not much for TikTok either.
- 19:17Speaker 4: God.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Well, by the video she's putting out, I think she's
- 19:19Speaker 1: going to gain a lot more followers.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Anyway, so Olivia and Ebony, they've had a falling out,
- 19:24Speaker 1: which has resulted in Olivia being removed from the business.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Olivia apparently signed to NDA, but then started sounding off
- 19:32Speaker 1: about it on her Instagram account. Ebony's then fired back
- 19:35Speaker 1: and shared a two-part tell-all series on TikTok that's gone
- 19:38Speaker 1: absolutely viral because the claims that she made about Olivia
- 19:42Speaker 1: were so wild. Now, a crucial part of this story
- 19:46Speaker 1: centers around the business's one and only employee, Mariah. Now,
- 19:50Speaker 1: she really is in the middle of this because her
- 19:52Speaker 1: brother is dating Olivia and he has sided with Olivia.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And Olivia allegedly brought in a video of her and
- 20:01Speaker 1: Mariah's brother dating. having sex and showed Mariah, which is
- 20:04Speaker 1: just absolutely revolting. I actually think you're missing one pivotal
- 20:07Speaker 1: piece of this story. Is Olivia telling all her trolls
- 20:10Speaker 1: to go finger bash themselves? Oh, yeah. Now, look how
- 20:16Speaker 1: hot she is. She's my new micro slash normie influencer
- 20:19Speaker 1: to follow after selling her out first. Also, if producers
- 20:22Speaker 1: at Fozzie Geordie show are listening, she'd be great on there.
- 20:24Speaker 1: She should have said Fozzie. Feck off. That would have
- 20:26Speaker 1: been on one breath. Feck off and go finger bash yourself. Anyway,
- 20:29Speaker 1: since then, Olivia has been posting nonstop on her Instagram story.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And when I say nonstop, I mean, when you click
- 20:35Speaker 1: on someone's profile and all you can see are tiny
- 20:37Speaker 1: little dots at the start and you have to sit
- 20:38Speaker 1: down for probably an hour and watch the stories. Now
- 20:41Speaker 1: I've been putting in the hard yards. I've been watching
- 20:43Speaker 1: all of the content and it has not disappointed. Now
- 20:47Speaker 1: she's been teasing this tell all on YouTube, but she
- 20:49Speaker 1: has already addressed a bunch of Ebony and Mariah's claims
- 20:53Speaker 1: and It's funny. Our cousin messaged us after last week's
- 20:56Speaker 1: episode and was like, all she got in her head
- 20:58Speaker 1: was Ebony Ray. Because we kept saying Ebony from Kath
- 21:01Speaker 1: and Kim. Well, I want to point out that Ebony's
- 21:03Speaker 1: name is spelled E-B-A-N-Y. It's usually with an O, isn't it?
- 21:06Speaker 4: Ebony.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Funnily enough, Olivia ended up sharing the Instagram reel we
- 21:12Speaker 1: created that promoted our discussion of Allure on the podcast.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And in that reel, we included the quote where Ebony
- 21:19Speaker 1: accused Olivia of coming into the office with a butt
- 21:21Speaker 1: plug in. Now, Olivia confirmed, in fact, it was true,
- 21:25Speaker 1: but Ebony made it out to be something it wasn't.
- 21:28Speaker 1: How do you make that out to be something it's not? Well,
- 21:30Speaker 1: she went on to paint this picture of a very
- 21:33Speaker 1: wild office environment where anything goes. And she conceded that
- 21:36Speaker 1: she understood it probably sounded shocking if you're a 50-year-old
- 21:40Speaker 1: woman working in a corporate office. But the reality was
- 21:43Speaker 1: this business was run by three best friends in their
- 21:46Speaker 1: 20s with no filters. This has me a little concerned.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Does she think that we are 50-year-old women hosting a
- 21:51Speaker 1: podcast because we seemed concerned about this? No, I think
- 21:53Speaker 1: she was talking about all the people that have slid
- 21:55Speaker 1: into her DM shocked. I mean, I hope. This rings
- 21:58Speaker 1: a bell though. We're three best friends running a business.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I currently do not have a butt plug in my
- 22:02Speaker 1: house for recording this podcast, I want to point out.
- 22:05Speaker 1: If you did, I would fire you so quickly from
- 22:07Speaker 1: this business. No judgment if that's what you wish to
- 22:10Speaker 1: do at your own workplace. Anyway, here in the outspoken office,
- 22:16Speaker 1: that's not something that we're into. You can tell this
- 22:19Speaker 1: is an afternoon recording because everyone's getting quite silly. I
- 22:22Speaker 1: think I need to rein it in. I want to
- 22:23Speaker 1: throw to more of what Olivia had to say.
- 22:26Speaker 4: The sex toy talk is crazy. Yes, I did come
- 22:29Speaker 4: into work with a butt plug in my butt. I
- 22:32Speaker 4: didn't insert it in front of them. And I flashed
- 22:35Speaker 4: it at the girls on which they were laughing because
- 22:37Speaker 4: that was the dynamic.
- 22:38Speaker 1: That we had.
- 22:39Speaker 4: We would take nudes in the office of which Mariah
- 22:42Speaker 4: would help us take them to send to whatever men
- 22:45Speaker 4: we were talking to at the time. Ebony unboxed a
- 22:48Speaker 4: whole box of sex toys for her freaking 30th birthday
- 22:52Speaker 4: that me and my friends mailed to her for her
- 22:55Speaker 4: birthday and unboxed them I thought it was great. This
- 22:58Speaker 4: is the vibe that we had. Like it's now just
- 23:01Speaker 4: been flipped that I did this and they were like,
- 23:03Speaker 4: please stop.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Like, what are you doing?
- 23:06Speaker 4: At the time they're like, oh my God, no way.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Did you show Harley?
- 23:08Speaker 1: What did he think?
- 23:10Speaker 4: Like, like, yes, it's true. And if you pull it
- 23:13Speaker 4: out of the context, it sounds so wild, but we
- 23:15Speaker 4: were three best friends. I've been best friends with Ebony
- 23:17Speaker 4: for 10 years. She's seen my ass. She's seen my vagina.
- 23:20Speaker 4: We've seen it all. Nothing was shocking, you know? people
- 23:23Speaker 4: are like no wonder she lost her job she's flashing
- 23:26Speaker 4: a sex toy at an employee our employee was also
- 23:29Speaker 4: our best friend and who would help us construct like
- 23:32Speaker 4: sexting messages to the guys that we were talking to
- 23:35Speaker 4: at the time there was times that ebony has sent
- 23:38Speaker 4: mariah out of the office so she could make out
- 23:40Speaker 4: and grind all over her freaking man at the time
- 23:43Speaker 4: and mariah's downstairs like oh i can't go upstairs and
- 23:45Speaker 4: i would walk upstairs and ebony's thrusting on top of
- 23:48Speaker 4: her man like place it was a workplace where three
- 23:52Speaker 4: best friends were selling hoodies there was no no filters
- 23:56Speaker 4: there was nothing left unsaid everything was appropriate everything was
- 24:00Speaker 4: okay because it was pretty much like conversations you would
- 24:02Speaker 4: have with your best friend but we just happened to
- 24:04Speaker 4: be in an office and in a workplace so when
- 24:07Speaker 4: you take things out of context and then use them
- 24:09Speaker 4: against me it sounds shocking but if I revealed everything
- 24:12Speaker 4: those two girls did in that office Okay.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Does that context make you change your mind at all?
- 24:17Speaker 1: Kind of. It does a bit. The fact that it
- 24:20Speaker 1: was sort of an office where anything goes and it's
- 24:22Speaker 1: just a couple of young friends hanging out. Yeah. The
- 24:25Speaker 1: only issue I have, it changes the dynamic when those
- 24:29Speaker 1: photos or that kind of chat is around someone's brother. Yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's when it crosses the line. It's different to get
- 24:36Speaker 1: all around it and have fun taking photos for your
- 24:38Speaker 1: friends to send to guys when it's not your brother.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Like no one wants to hear about their siblings. Olivia
- 24:44Speaker 1: also addressed Ebony's claims that she stole $ 85, 000 from their
- 24:48Speaker 1: joint business account. So she admitted she did transfer the
- 24:52Speaker 1: money over into her personal account, but ultimately transferred it back.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Now her reasoning was she didn't feel like the $ 50, 000
- 24:58Speaker 1: offer to leave the business was fair. She claimed not
- 25:02Speaker 1: only was she owed $ 30, 000 from the business, but it
- 25:05Speaker 1: was forecast to turn over $ 2. 5 million that year. So
- 25:09Speaker 1: this is a very different story to Ebony's claim that
- 25:12Speaker 1: the business was in $ 250, 000 debt. Again, these are just
- 25:16Speaker 1: Olivia's claims. She hasn't actually used anything to back it up.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Olivia also went on to address her mental state and
- 25:21Speaker 1: the alcohol and substance claims that Ebony made. So she
- 25:24Speaker 1: was asked by a follower what she would like people
- 25:27Speaker 1: to stop assuming about her and said this.
- 25:30Speaker 5: One is that I'm a crackhead.
- 25:32Speaker 4: How insulting.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm not a crackhead.
- 25:34Speaker 4: The fact that I'm manic, that I suffer with mental illnesses,
- 25:40Speaker 4: bipolar disorder, split personality disorder, that I'm in a psychosis,
- 25:44Speaker 4: that I need to be assessed, that I need to
- 25:46Speaker 4: be in some sort of a mental asylum.
- 25:49Speaker 1: All of that just needs to stop.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Like, yes, I lost my marbles and crashed out online,
- 25:55Speaker 4: but I'm very well fit and able to live my
- 25:57Speaker 4: life and... Don't need to be medicated. Do not take
- 26:01Speaker 4: drugs every single day to survive. Very far from that.
- 26:05Speaker 4: I'm just sitting here getting my hair done. But my
- 26:08Speaker 4: life is in a shambles. And I'm just documenting the process, okay?
- 26:11Speaker 4: So can everyone stop saying I suffer with all this
- 26:13Speaker 4: shit and I'm a crackhead?
- 26:14Speaker 1: Because it's not very nice, actually. Now, as we touched
- 26:18Speaker 1: on earlier, Olivia is set to share her side of
- 26:20Speaker 1: the story. Funnily enough, her brother is actually helping her
- 26:23Speaker 1: with the video. And she said that they've spent a
- 26:26Speaker 1: lot of time gathering receipts and will tackle every claim.
- 26:29Speaker 1: She said there's going to be two videos, one about
- 26:32Speaker 1: Ebony and one about Mariah. And when asked if she
- 26:35Speaker 1: thought Ebony and Mariah were worried about it, she said this.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Do I think that the two girls that now have
- 26:44Speaker 4: AVLs or AVLs on me and one of them, Ebony,
- 26:48Speaker 4: had me saying, and Andy, are you not to speak?
- 26:49Speaker 1: You're scared of me speaking. absolutely.
- 26:53Speaker 4: I didn't need any of them to sign an NDA
- 26:55Speaker 4: and I sure as hell haven't.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Filed an ABO.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Speak your fucking truth because I know mine and you're
- 27:00Speaker 4: going to look like a cunt.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I mean, I'd be pretty worried to be honest after
- 27:05Speaker 1: seeing some of these Instagram stories. She gives zero fucks
- 27:08Speaker 1: and she was actually asked by a follower about, well,
- 27:10Speaker 1: what are the implications if you do speak out? And
- 27:12Speaker 1: she said she could be arrested. However, she would get
- 27:15Speaker 1: bail and then she'd just have to attend a hearing.
- 27:17Speaker 1: And if she was found guilty of breaching the order,
- 27:20Speaker 1: She'd just have to pay $ 1, 000. What Olivia is saying
- 27:23Speaker 1: is 100% true. It is quite hard to enforce these NDAs.
- 27:26Speaker 1: You've got to have a lot of money to be
- 27:28Speaker 1: able to continually take that person to court. Well, look
- 27:31Speaker 1: at the way that Michaela Tester was essentially able to
- 27:33Speaker 1: say whatever she liked, because even Anna Paul, who you
- 27:36Speaker 1: would assume would have a lot of money, didn't want
- 27:38Speaker 1: to fight it in court. Well, that was a big
- 27:40Speaker 1: strategy with a lot of the Current Affairs Today Tonight
- 27:43Speaker 1: style shows. they would often push the boundaries because they
- 27:46Speaker 1: knew that a lot of the people that they defamed
- 27:49Speaker 1: in their stories didn't have the money to take them
- 27:51Speaker 1: to court. So they were safe in doing so. And
- 27:53Speaker 1: even people with money, like celebrities, often they don't want
- 27:56Speaker 1: to fight defamation claims either because you've seen it play
- 27:59Speaker 1: out in the media with the Johnny Depp and Amber
- 28:01Speaker 1: Heard trial. In order to actually successfully sue someone from defamation,
- 28:06Speaker 1: so much of your personal business comes out in that
- 28:09Speaker 1: court case. It's like a mudslinging thing. Yeah, exactly. We've
- 28:12Speaker 1: also got to prove that what they're saying isn't true.
- 28:14Speaker 1: And in some instances, it probably is true. Does any
- 28:17Speaker 1: of this change what team you're on? Because last week
- 28:20Speaker 1: we were all team Ebony and Mariah. Look, I've got
- 28:21Speaker 1: to admit, Olivia is growing on me. And I don't
- 28:23Speaker 1: know if it is just because of her accent or
- 28:25Speaker 1: the fact that she gives no fucks. Like, I just
- 28:27Speaker 1: think we need more people who are real online. Look,
- 28:30Speaker 1: I'm still team Ebony, but I am highly entertained by
- 28:33Speaker 1: Olivia's antics. As the person who's taken one for the
- 28:35Speaker 1: team and been watching all of Olivia's content, I have
- 28:38Speaker 1: to say, I do have a soft spot for her
- 28:40Speaker 1: and she actually made a really good point. So she
- 28:43Speaker 1: said that Ebony is the one who actually escalated this
- 28:46Speaker 1: incident with her TikTok. So yes, Olivia was posting stuff
- 28:49Speaker 1: on her Instagram stories beforehand, but as she said, those
- 28:53Speaker 1: were capped only at the people who followed her. And
- 28:55Speaker 1: at that point, she only had a couple of thousand followers.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Ebony's the one that posted it to TikTok and we
- 29:00Speaker 1: all know stories like that go viral. So she's the
- 29:03Speaker 1: one that's actually put this story out there to the masses.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And Olivia is the one that's dealing with a lot
- 29:08Speaker 1: of trolling off the back of it. It must be
- 29:10Speaker 1: helping both of the women though. They would be gaining
- 29:12Speaker 1: a lot of followers from this fight. Plot twist is
- 29:14Speaker 1: just some big publicity stunt for the brand. I want
- 29:17Speaker 1: to talk though about Sky Wheatley's involvement in all of
- 29:19Speaker 1: this because last week we spoke about how we couldn't
- 29:21Speaker 1: wait to see their wild social media updates from Bali
- 29:24Speaker 1: because she's there with Olivia. But judging by Sky's post,
- 29:28Speaker 1: you wouldn't have known that she was there with her.
- 29:30Speaker 1: And a follower asked Olivia, why hasn't Sky been posting
- 29:33Speaker 1: with you? And it turns out it was strategic from Sky.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Let's take a listen.
- 29:37Speaker 5: I have to share this because I know it seems
- 29:41Speaker 5: so non-normal, but obviously my life is.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Under extreme scrutiny at the moment and Sky has her
- 29:49Speaker 3: home brand and being seen with me or associated with
- 29:55Speaker 3: me mightn't be good for her. So We're very much
- 30:00Speaker 3: still on a holiday, but, um, just better if we
- 30:03Speaker 3: don't like cross each other's socials.
- 30:07Speaker 5: So it looks like she doesn't exist. I look like
- 30:10Speaker 5: I don't exist in her. So yeah, that's why.
- 30:16Speaker 1: The funniest thing is they were actually sharing a room
- 30:19Speaker 1: and Olivia spoke about how Sky woke her up the
- 30:21Speaker 1: other night at 2am when she came back from partying.
- 30:24Speaker 1: And it just shows how fake social media is. Sorry,
- 30:26Speaker 1: Sky's brand. Sky's brand is chaotic. She is known for
- 30:29Speaker 1: also being off the rails and saying the wrong thing.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I don't think that their brands are pretty far apart.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I guess Sky maybe is wanting to keep her distance
- 30:37Speaker 1: from Olivia due to the recent drink driving charges. Maybe
- 30:40Speaker 1: she doesn't want to be seen to be doing the
- 30:42Speaker 1: wrong thing there, but... It's quite sad because it seems
- 30:46Speaker 1: like both Olivia and Sky spent most of their time
- 30:48Speaker 1: in their room upset. Even though they were trying to
- 30:50Speaker 1: put out this persona that they were having a great time,
- 30:52Speaker 1: it actually looked quite boring. The guys that have been
- 30:55Speaker 1: here for a really long time will recognise that grey wall.
- 30:59Speaker 1: They'll recognise that sofa. Molly May has taken her viewers
- 31:04Speaker 1: on a trip down memory lane to revisit her first
- 31:07Speaker 1: apartment in Manchester. When I saw all of the buzz
- 31:10Speaker 1: around this, I assumed it was the apartment complex that
- 31:14Speaker 1: she first moved into with Tommy when they were straight
- 31:16Speaker 1: off Love Island. Oh, the one with the brick wall? Yeah,
- 31:19Speaker 1: but it's actually the first apartment that she moved out
- 31:21Speaker 1: to when she was 17 and sort of the girl
- 31:24Speaker 1: in the big city with a YouTube channel. Well, you're
- 31:26Speaker 1: obviously not an OG then, Soph. No, I sadly am
- 31:29Speaker 1: not an OG. I did not know her before Love Island.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I remember that apartment. I've definitely seen her film there.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I think you've probably gone back and watched some of
- 31:35Speaker 1: her old content. I actually vividly remember going back and
- 31:38Speaker 1: watching her content and I was like, Oh, like I
- 31:40Speaker 1: was a bit underwhelmed. I was like, I remember this
- 31:42Speaker 1: Amsterdam trip. And I mean, to be fair, YouTube was
- 31:44Speaker 1: quite different back then. Now, the reason all of this
- 31:46Speaker 1: came about with the apartment tour is because the landlord
- 31:49Speaker 1: who owned the apartment when she lived there still owns
- 31:53Speaker 1: it and has decided to sell it. And he ended
- 31:55Speaker 1: up emailing her manager, Fran, and asking Molly if she
- 31:58Speaker 1: wanted to come and see it before he sells it.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I mean, this guy is clearly a marketing genius because
- 32:03Speaker 1: Molly has ended up doing this tour of the apartment
- 32:07Speaker 1: to I mean, more than half a million people have
- 32:09Speaker 1: watched this. Yeah, it's like an ad. Yeah, she even
- 32:11Speaker 1: said if you want to buy this. Well, she was
- 32:13Speaker 1: handing out a few critiques though. She was saying that
- 32:16Speaker 1: by now she thought that the grey feature wall might
- 32:18Speaker 1: have been painted over. She said he should have a
- 32:20Speaker 1: bit of a lick of fresh paint in the bathrooms. Yeah,
- 32:22Speaker 1: but she also pointed out how many things used to
- 32:25Speaker 1: be hers. Like she was like, oh, these are my
- 32:26Speaker 1: old drawers and this was the rug. And I felt
- 32:28Speaker 1: like saying, I'm not sure a lot of people want
- 32:31Speaker 1: those items. Yeah, I couldn't get over that. I mean,
- 32:33Speaker 1: I watched a lot of UK influencers who move straight
- 32:35Speaker 1: into apartments that are fully furnished, but You don't generally
- 32:38Speaker 1: think that you get the person who used to live
- 32:40Speaker 1: there shit because she showed this yellow old rug and
- 32:43Speaker 1: there were these chest of drawers from Ikea that Molly
- 32:45Speaker 1: said she literally took from her home in Hertfordshire to
- 32:48Speaker 1: her new apartment. And she was like, oh, I just
- 32:50Speaker 1: want to know the life that they've lived. And it
- 32:52Speaker 1: was quite awkward because the drawers were literally in this
- 32:54Speaker 1: person's bedroom. She's like, oh, these drawers must have seen
- 32:56Speaker 1: some things. Her style has definitely changed, hasn't it?
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I wonder if someone just wants to get the apartment
- 33:02Speaker 1: so they can flog off her old shit on marketplace
- 33:05Speaker 1: or on eBay. They're like, oh, Molly Mays or drawers.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I think the owner will sell those off for himself.
- 33:09Speaker 1: The fact he's been smart enough to get Molly in
- 33:10Speaker 1: there spruiking the apartment. I got the vibe he was
- 33:13Speaker 1: kind of hoping that she'd buy it. Well, she touched
- 33:16Speaker 1: on that. So the apartment is on the market for £ 185, 000.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Is that all? It's a cheapie compared to her current
- 33:21Speaker 1: two homes. That's only $ 400, 000 Australian dollars. Still pretty cheap
- 33:25Speaker 1: for an apartment these days. Well, compared to her other home.
- 33:27Speaker 1: So her home that she purchased in Cheshire is in
- 33:30Speaker 1: 2022 was $ 3. 8 million. I'd hate to think how much
- 33:33Speaker 1: the Victorian mansion that she and Tommy now live in is.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But have you guys seen, it's literally, the apartment is
- 33:37Speaker 1: a tiny bedroom with a lounge room where it's got,
- 33:41Speaker 1: it would be full sunlight. It was a pretty good view,
- 33:44Speaker 1: but she actually admitted that she had seriously considered buying
- 33:48Speaker 1: the old apartment, but the timing wasn't right. She said
- 33:50Speaker 1: she doesn't have time to be a landlord. And she
- 33:53Speaker 1: was thinking about, oh, maybe my family could stay in
- 33:56Speaker 1: the apartment when they visit me. But now she's living
- 33:58Speaker 1: in Cheshire. It's a little bit too far away. Yet
- 34:00Speaker 1: she has time to learn the cello. That blew my mind.
- 34:03Speaker 1: She was talking about how I used to do horse
- 34:05Speaker 1: riding and then I got thrown off and it scared me, blah, blah, blah.
- 34:07Speaker 1: And then she like brings out a cello and says,
- 34:09Speaker 1: I'm going to start doing this. I'm thinking you're literally
- 34:11Speaker 1: like four months postpartum with two children. That's the most
- 34:14Speaker 1: postpartum thing I've heard of. You try to reconnect with
- 34:17Speaker 1: an old version of yourself and then You never touch
- 34:19Speaker 1: the fucking cello. You know what's crazy? I must have
- 34:21Speaker 1: fallen asleep during that part of the vlog because I
- 34:23Speaker 1: don't recall anything about a cello. I found it really
- 34:25Speaker 1: interesting hearing what her financial situation was before going on
- 34:28Speaker 1: Love Island because if you remember that she had a
- 34:31Speaker 1: lot of criticism for, oh, she's only on this show
- 34:33Speaker 1: to make it big and for her influencer career to
- 34:36Speaker 1: take off. I mean, sorry, isn't that what everyone is
- 34:38Speaker 1: on the show? And she admitted that when she first
- 34:41Speaker 1: moved into the apartment in Manchester, she really didn't have
- 34:44Speaker 1: the money to live there and she was just winging
- 34:46Speaker 1: it and seeing how she went. Then again, she said
- 34:48Speaker 1: that she saved up six months worth of rent, so
- 34:50Speaker 1: she must have been doing okay. Well, I think that
- 34:52Speaker 1: she probably spent ages saving that money to ensure that
- 34:55Speaker 1: she could be there. She said she was in a
- 34:56Speaker 1: real dilemma when she got the call up from Love
- 34:58Speaker 1: Island because her rent was due and she didn't know
- 35:01Speaker 1: whether she should sign up for a further six months
- 35:03Speaker 1: in the hope that she'd be able to afford it
- 35:05Speaker 1: when she came off the show or if she should
- 35:07Speaker 1: sign herself up to an expensive lease. And then be
- 35:10Speaker 1: voted off in one week. She knew Pretty Little Thing
- 35:12Speaker 1: was coming. Yeah. She manifested it. People love this vlog though.
- 35:16Speaker 1: One OG said, what in the nostalgia is this vlog?
- 35:19Speaker 1: I'm literally living for this content, the apartment and the cello.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Another said, this flat's landlord knows exactly what he's doing.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Marketing to a T. I would love to know if
- 35:29Speaker 1: this apartment goes for more. purely because of the Molly
- 35:32Speaker 1: Mae effect.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Surely.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Like why am I thinking about moving to Manchester, living
- 35:36Speaker 1: in her apartment, wearing her skin? I'm just joking. There'd
- 35:39Speaker 1: be some saddo like you, Sophie, in the UK that's like, yep,
- 35:42Speaker 1: I'm going to get Molly Mae. On their Fiat front,
- 35:43Speaker 1: that's what they say all Molly Mae fans drive in.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Sophie's already bought that yellow crusty rug off the M &
- 35:48Speaker 1: S one. How much does she want for it? I
- 35:50Speaker 1: love yellow. You've picked out a hair from it and
- 35:53Speaker 1: going to put a spell on it or something. It's
- 35:54Speaker 1: just a pube from the current. Polyjuice potion. LAUGHTER Well,
- 35:59Speaker 1: I think that's where we're going to leave things today.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Thank you again for listening to another episode of Outspoken.
- 36:04Speaker 1: We hope you're enjoying the Monday drop. We thought we
- 36:06Speaker 1: would trial releasing on a Monday and we've actually had
- 36:09Speaker 1: quite a lot of good feedback about it. This episode
- 36:11Speaker 1: was recorded on the traditional land of the Kaurna people
- 36:14Speaker 1: of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders past
- 36:17Speaker 1: and present.
