  and the finale of Daredevil Born Again season 2.

  I have broken down every episode, I have given you all my

  thoughts and all my theories and today is no different.

  So going into this episode, I knew it would be a banger, and
• 0:29
  it absolutely was. I think like 20 minutes in, I
• 0:32
  was already telling people on threads this is the best
• 0:34
  episode. And it was.
• 0:37
  So what happens in the episode? Matt shows up late to court
• 0:41
  because Jessica's fixing his leg after he got a shot.
• 0:43
  And my queen says you never tried childbirth.
• 0:46
  And that's why we love her. Something small to note that I'm
• 0:50
  actually really surprised did not get brought up much in this
• 0:52
  episode besides this one moment, was that Fisk knows Daniel is
• 0:55
  dead and he didn't do anything, he just accepted it.

  So all right, cool. Then we move on to stupid
• 1:05
  Heather. Stupid, stupid Heather in court.

  Heather did in fact write her book about vigilantes.
• 1:10
  I guess I just didn't realize that.
• 1:12
  Or it's never been said before. I don't know which one.
• 1:15
  I tend to tune her out. She's awful, She's the worst.
• 1:18
  What's really cool is that Heather was called out for
• 1:20
  hitting Karen, which she absolutely said did not happen.
• 1:24
  And it's like Heather, everyone knows you're trash, just admit
• 1:28
  to it, no one will be surprised. But they start reading pages
• 1:33
  from her vigilante book and Matt has an argument.
• 1:36
  Matt says Karen isn't vigilante because she didn't have a mask.
• 1:40
  But like didn't she though? Like she did hide behind wigs,
• 1:43
  face makeup and all that so wouldn't that be her alter ego?
• 1:47
  Either way I think she should keep the looks.
• 1:48
  The redhead was my favorite. So Fisk is called to the stand,
• 1:52
  which I did not see coming and his task force joins the court
• 1:56
  which was, I don't really know what that was supposed to do,
• 2:00
  intimidate Matt Murdock or be supportive of Fisk?
• 2:05
  I don't know, but it looked like Fisk was nervous at that point,
• 2:08
  so I really don't know what that was for.
• 2:10

  is still reeling from all of this.

  What I do want to say is that this whole scene with Matt
• 2:19
  Murdoch questioning Fisk going bar for bar, he is showing the
• 2:25
  actual lawyering that I love from Matt Murdoch.

  This was like, like we haven't seen this good of lawyer
• 2:33
  lawyering since the Netflix series and I think they brought
• 2:37
  it back and hit it harder than they ever have before.
• 2:42
  It was incredible. But moving on the task force,
• 2:45
  they have someone dressed as Bullseye, but bullseye.
• 2:48
  It is not bullseye. It is a fake bullseye.
• 2:50
  And the real Bullseye shows up and takes him out and calls him
• 2:52
  a poser. And that's why we love bullseye.
• 2:55
  So while this is happening, Fisk knows his goose is cooked.

  So while Matt Murdock is in the judge's chambers, Fisk mutters
• 3:05
  to Matt that he's going to snitch on him, he is going to do
• 3:09
  it, and Matt is all for it. And we find out why.
• 3:13
  Matt has a whole plan about all of this, and what starts as just
• 3:19
  questioning turns into Christophie's testimony and
• 3:22
  being played in court. So everyone can see that it was
• 3:25
  actually Kingpin that gave the go ahead to take down the port
• 3:30
  and the boat, the ship, I don't know.
• 3:35
  But so that's all out in the air and that's enough to get Kingpin
• 3:39
  arrested. But he doesn't get arrested.
• 3:42
  Kingpin is pissed. Jessica Jones walks in with the
• 3:45
  governor that Fisk tried to kill.
• 3:47
  Fisk crashes out. He says that what's going on in
• 3:50
  his port, what's going in it, what's going out of it is none
• 3:53
  of Matt Murdock's business because it's above his pay
• 3:56
  grade. Well, you're not wrong because
• 3:58
  Matt has actually not gotten to work Fisk.
• 4:00
  So thank you for being technically right.
• 4:03
  Now this is where everything gets wild.
• 4:06
  I didn't think he'd do it. I thought it would be Kingpin
• 4:08
  that did it. And Matt tells the whole court,
• 4:11
  because they said there's no witnesses that can prove what
• 4:15
  happened on that port. But Matt says, yes, there is.
• 4:18
  There is a witness. His name is Daredevil, and he's
• 4:21
  also me. My name is Daredevil.
• 4:24
  And everyone's like the blind guy.
• 4:27
  And then Matt does a little flippy do with his thing and he
• 4:29
  proves them to them that he is Daredevil.
• 4:32
  I want to say that one point here.
• 4:34
  Jessica Jones looks so proud because if you'll remember,
• 4:37
  Jessica Jones from Season 1 of her show has said I'm not hiding
• 4:42
  and now Matt is on her level. This is when we were 20 minutes
• 4:47
  in and I said this was the best episode yet and boy did I not
• 4:51
  know what I was in for. So because of all of this,
• 4:53
  because Matt told the world who he was, Karen is free to go and
• 4:58
  Fisk has charges filed against him and he is screwed.
• 5:03
  Anyone else would have been arrested.
• 5:04
  Anyone else would have been locked up immediately.
• 5:08
  But anyways, so there is a secret plan that no one knows
• 5:11
  about, and it's that Fisk has someone dressed as Bullseye set
• 5:17
  up outside of the courthouse to shoot Matt Murdock when he comes
• 5:20
  out. But what Fisk doesn't know is
• 5:22
  that Bullseye's already been taken down by the real Bullseye.
• 5:25
  So Buck gets shot, man down. And I thought that was, I
• 5:30
  thought Buck was done there. But no, he's not.
• 5:35
  He's still living life and Heather is there tending to his
• 5:39
  wounds because she is the worst. They're all hauled up in City
• 5:45
  Hall or the courthouse, wherever this is.
• 5:47
  They're all hauled up there. They cannot leave safely.
• 5:50
  Fisk is on his side. Daredevil and Co are on their
• 5:53
  side. And Jessica, my girl Jessica,
• 5:55
  the classic Jessica Jones, finds alcohol in the desk, I think.

  I didn't see anyone bring this up and I feel like it's an
• 6:02
  important thing to look at. So Fisk goes live to the city to
• 6:07
  warn everyone that the protesters are coming.
• 6:09
  He says that he will stand and fight and he is trying to start
• 6:13
  a war. He didn't say that but it's
• 6:15
  implied. But that's cut off because BB
• 6:18
  goes live and she says it's our city, not his.
• 6:21
  My girl BB made her grand entrance in the most beautiful
• 6:26
  of ways, and I love it. But the city suits up in
• 6:30
  Daredevil colors. A war has begun.
• 6:33
  Fisk says that Karen and Matt cannot leave this building
• 6:36
  alive. He says it to his task force.
• 6:38
  So he's really going just, he's just trying to kill them both.
• 6:43
  I just don't feel like that would be very satisfactory if I
• 6:46
  was Fisk. Like I would want to take them
• 6:48
  down myself, but whatever. The police have taken the side
• 6:53
  of the citizens, the citizens that are donned in Daredevil
• 6:56
  suits. Cherry is back with Brett
• 6:58
  Mahoney and they try to tell the task force to stand down.

  Angela makes an appearance and our girl Angela gets justice for
• 7:08
  her uncle Hector who was the White tiger before Angela took
• 7:12
  the mantle. Turns out Cole N did not know
• 7:16
  that Officer Powell was lying because Officer Powell told him
• 7:19
  that Hector was a police killer and Cole N handled him very well
• 7:25
  and he lets the protesters into the courthouse.
• 7:27
  This was a turn around on a character arc I did not see
• 7:31
  coming and I love it. I just, it was perfect.
• 7:36
  So the AG says that Fisk can resign and leave New York but he
• 7:41
  and he won't be prosecuted. But does Fisk take that?
• 7:44
  Absolutely not. Fisk starts to fight everyone,
• 7:47
  everyone that gets in his way. He is completely unleashed
• 7:51
  bodying anyone that gets in his way.
• 7:54
  And I'm going to live on this high for weeks like I am just
• 7:57
  this was amazing. And also we get one of those
• 8:00
  classic amazing Daredevil hallway scenes.
• 8:03
  We love a Daredevil hallway scene.
• 8:06
  It is iconic. Everyone's fighting for their
• 8:09
  way to get to Kingpin, to get out of Kingpin's way, to kind of
• 8:12
  come together so they can all take him down.
• 8:14
  And Fisk is taking people out left and right.
• 8:17
  Even when he is on the balcony and he is overlooking a sea of
• 8:21
  red people hating him, he takes them all out.
• 8:24
  No matter what he has to do, he is going to survive that and he
• 8:27
  knows it. But what's crazy is Matt
• 8:31
  Murdock, Daredevil, makes his way up to that balcony.
• 8:34
  He talks him down. He says just take the deal, just
• 8:38
  stop. It's over for both of us.
• 8:40
  It's done. And in a very strange way, he
• 8:46
  does back down. Fisk is done.
• 8:48
  He even says, excuse me, but I I won't shake your hand.
• 8:54
  So that was weird. But what I do like about that is
• 8:56
  I think Marvel is learning that you don't have to kill off any
• 9:01
  villains. Like you still have Bullseye
• 9:03
  around. You still have Kingpin around.
• 9:06
  For a long time Marvel was making their villains one and
• 9:10
  done, which for some characters, sure, but for a street level
• 9:16
  hero, his villains are always there.
• 9:18
  Like look at Spider Man. His heroes are somewhere in the
• 9:21
  background. He runs into them everywhere.
• 9:24
  You know, like they have to keep them the momentum going.
• 9:27
  They have to, well, no, that doesn't make sense.
• 9:30
  Not the momentum going, but they have to keep that looming threat
• 9:32
  there or what are they going to do?
• 9:36
  But they also did say in the next season, Vincent d'onfreo
• 9:39
  said that they're pulling away from Kingpin.
• 9:42
  We have seen leaked pictures of Kingpin on set.
• 9:46
  But it's like, if they're not fighting them, who are they
• 9:48
  fighting? Is it the Hand?
• 9:50
  I don't know. I have a theory about that.
• 9:53
  So it's all said and done. Matt gets arrested for assault
• 9:57
  for Daredevil crimes. Of course.

  Now this is part I didn't see coming and I'm still not OK.

  Luke Cage shows up and sees Danielle and Jessica, Alias
• 10:09
  Investigations. That's where they're at.
• 10:12
  Luke comes in, hugs Danielle. Jessica asks if he's done and
• 10:16
  she is delighted when he says he is done with that job.
• 10:18
  And they hug. She shuts the door and it's in
• 10:21
  Alias Investigations and we're getting somewhere with this.
• 10:25
  And I am not OK. I'm just, I'm so happy.
• 10:30
  I'm so happy BB gets her uncle's newspaper clippings.

  She is now working at the same newspaper that her uncle Ben
• 10:37
  Urich worked at and Karen Page worked at.
• 10:39
  So her life is going places. But it's something about this to
• 10:43
  think about is that she completes the fight that her
• 10:46
  uncle died fighting and I think that's beautiful.
• 10:50
  Moving on to Heather, who has the Muse mask.
• 10:52
  Heather's still dumb. If you haven't seen the leaked
• 10:56
  pictures, Heather is going to be the female Muse.

  Now, I know I've seen a lot of people say, oh, they made Muse
• 11:02
  into a girl. This is actually comic accurate.
• 11:04
  If you check out Daredevil Unleashed, it's a red band.

  It's by Erica Schultz. Absolutely check it out.

  A girl is possessed by Muse, so she becomes Muse.
• 11:14
  So it's not that they're saying, oh, we'll just keep it going and
• 11:18
  just make it a girl now. It's comic accurate.

  It's a damn good run. You should absolutely check it
• 11:24
  out. So moving on to Fisk.
• 11:26
  Fisk is on a beach, and this is a really, really, really good
• 11:30
  time to bring in Typhoid Mary. If you'll remember in the comics
• 11:34
  when he realized he did way too much in New York when he was
• 11:37
  mayor, he dipped then too. But he was with Typhoid Mary.
• 11:42
  So I'm just saying it makes sense.
• 11:45
  Of course, we can't forget about Mr. Charles.
• 11:47
  Mr. Charles has Bullseye working for him now.
• 11:49
  So I'm very excited to see where that goes.
• 11:52
  All in all, this was a master class of acting and
• 11:55
  understanding the characters. There were parts in this episode
• 11:58
  where I was like, that's the comic accurate Kingpin.
• 12:01
  That's who I have read for years and years.
• 12:05
  And that's saying something because Vincent D'onofrio has
• 12:08
  done a beautiful job. 10 out of 10, no notes and still somehow
• 12:13
  he gets better. It's absolute insanity how these
• 12:18
  how good these actors are, how well they did in the show.
• 12:20
  They did such a beautiful job and I am so bummed that the show
• 12:26
  is over. I love this show so much.
• 12:28
  It's so good. It's just so good.
• 12:32
  And I think we can all just put the Netflix comparisons to rest
• 12:36
  now. Please, we we got to stop doing
• 12:39
  that, guys. You're you're doing the show no
• 12:41
  favors. You're doing your own experience
• 12:44
  with the show no favors. It is a fantastic show through
• 12:47
  and through, and I am obsessed. I did mention I had a theory.

  I feel like I've mentioned it before, but I don't know.

  Now that Vanessa's dead Ripi guess who are they going to be
• 13:00
  fighting in the next season? I think it's going to be The
• 13:02
  Hand. If you'll remember in one of my
• 13:04
  episodes, it was a character breakdown of Vanessa Fisk.
• 13:07
  In the comics, she does get brought back to life because she
• 13:09
  is brought back by the hand, but it's not it's not because
• 13:15
  they're being nice or they like Fisk.
• 13:16
  She's actually brought back to fight Fisk.
• 13:19
  So Fisk has to prove that he's worthy of being in charge of the
• 13:24
  hand. That could very well work.
• 13:27
  I I could see that working. I could also see Typhoid Mary
• 13:30
  being brought in. I mean, they did do Typhoid Mary
• 13:33
  in the last season of Iron Fist, which was it was, it was a
• 13:39
  season that happened. It sure certainly did happen.

  But why can't we just bring her back?
• 13:46
  She's such a good character. I liked the grounded version of
• 13:49
  her, but I would also really like to see a more unhinged,
• 13:51
  crazy version of her, which I think would work really, really
• 13:55
  well because Fisk has only had Vanessa.
• 13:58
  He needs something crazy and I think Mary is the way to go.

  So I know this breakdown review and thoughts and theories and
• 14:07
  all that stuff. I know this episode is longer
• 14:09
  than the others, but so much happened and I really wanted to
• 14:13
  talk about it all. I know I'm going to go to bed
• 14:14
  and say I should have said that. Kind of like George Costanza and
• 14:17
  Seinfeld. It's going to happen.

  I know it's going to happen, but I can't think of anything else
• 14:22
  to say right now. RIP Daniel.
