- 1:07Speaker 4: seven years, not anymore. I'm a mother of three. When
- 1:10Speaker 4: it comes to dogs, I'm a dog mother for baby your.
- 1:14Speaker 3: For a very mom or whatever. I travel a lot internationally.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I DJ. It's a lot of things I do, honestly.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Just one that competition that j I just one to.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Netflix DJ competition.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Yes, yes, shouts out to Flight Out DC for putting
- 1:29Speaker 4: that together. But yeah, it's probably more stuff than that.
- 1:33Speaker 4: But I can't even think I do it all honestly.
- 1:34Speaker 4: But I'm just, you know, happy to be here with
- 1:36Speaker 4: some dope female DJs.
- 1:38Speaker 5: So I'm DJ.
- 1:39Speaker 6: You can follow me on Instagram at DJ Mone, DJ Underscore,
- 1:44Speaker 6: m O n A. I do radio a lot of
- 1:49Speaker 6: clubs in the city. I have my own podcast roll
- 1:51Speaker 6: Wanna Cut DJ Podcasts. Yeah, I DJ for O, R
- 1:55Speaker 6: and B artists. Her name is the artist.
- 1:57Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, all right, how y'all doing. I'm DJ Penny Lane.
- 2:03Speaker 7: I DJ on Radio ninety six point one.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah home team.
- 2:08Speaker 7: DJ for R and B Royalty, Jagged Edge, and I
- 2:13Speaker 7: own recording studios, industry ATLS like eighty five hundred square
- 2:17Speaker 7: foot compounds, studios, photography studios.
- 2:20Speaker 8: Anything you could think of if you name it.
- 2:23Speaker 7: And yeah, just moving.
- 2:27Speaker 3: You a mom? Oh I'm a mom.
- 2:28Speaker 7: Yes, I'm a new mom. I got a one year
- 2:31Speaker 7: old baby girl. That's like my world. Like I thought
- 2:34Speaker 7: I thought other stuff matd. I thought other shit mattered,
- 2:37Speaker 7: But now since I had my baby. That's literally like
- 2:39Speaker 7: the only thing that matters everything else. It's just like
- 2:42Speaker 7: whatever it is, what it is. So yeah, I'm a DJ.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And the mom.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm getting straight into it. BT. In the industry male dominated,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I feel like, and I want you guys to correct
- 2:55Speaker 1: me if I'm wrong. I feel like you guys had
- 2:56Speaker 1: to work twice as hard, be twice as nice, blend
- 2:59Speaker 1: twice as bad, twice as good as your male coworkers.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Do you think that is true?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yes?
- 3:07Speaker 4: And why I feel like it's it's harder for us
- 3:10Speaker 4: because we already have the stigma of like, well, what
- 3:12Speaker 4: you're gonna do or whatever, and it's like, we gotta
- 3:14Speaker 4: come looking better. If you want to get a sugar shade,
- 3:17Speaker 4: you want me to come at sugar shade. So I
- 3:19Speaker 4: gotta look a certain way that's first and foremost, foremost,
- 3:22Speaker 4: And then yes, I do have to play good.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I gotta talk on a mic. I have to create
- 3:26Speaker 3: a vibe.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I have to Yeah, I have to be better, because
- 3:28Speaker 4: if not, then what's the point of getting the female DJ.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I could just got a guy, you know what I'm saying.
- 3:31Speaker 4: So it's all around with the presentation and the skill
- 3:34Speaker 4: set too, is very important, So we have to work
- 3:37Speaker 4: twice as hard to promote ourselves and make sure that
- 3:39Speaker 4: we're definitely doing better than the guys.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Now this is a question, Oh oh, all the answers
- 3:44Speaker 1: they can.
- 3:45Speaker 7: Oh, so yeah, I'm a piggyback on that. I do
- 3:48Speaker 7: think that we have to show up.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Oh my bad, we gotta show up.
- 3:52Speaker 8: We gotta work extra hard.
- 3:54Speaker 7: Like when I was getting into the DJ thing, I
- 3:57Speaker 7: felt like the DJ cunt is like a click. But
- 3:59Speaker 7: I feel like they treat females like infistrators, like.
- 4:02Speaker 8: Like we not like or then also too, it be
- 4:06Speaker 8: like I forgot what I was going to say.
- 4:09Speaker 7: I'm sorry, but but all that too, we do have
- 4:14Speaker 7: to come Like when I'm working with Jag, I do
- 4:16Speaker 7: have to come look in a certain way. I do
- 4:18Speaker 7: have to be sexy, I do have to be fire.
- 4:21Speaker 7: So it is it's definitely extra hard, but I feel
- 4:24Speaker 7: like I got a good welcome when I came to Atlanta,
- 4:27Speaker 7: Like I was working with Ace and Tefline, so I
- 4:31Speaker 7: feel like they working with them, A lot of the
- 4:34Speaker 7: other DJs respected me and stuff just because they was like, oh,
- 4:37Speaker 7: she fucking with them, like she gotta be she gotta
- 4:39Speaker 7: be fire. She gotta be you know what I'm saying.
- 4:41Speaker 7: So I do feel like it's just definitely tougher for us.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree too, But my journey was a little different.
- 4:48Speaker 6: So when I started, I didn't really dress up because
- 4:50Speaker 6: I wanted people to respect me for my actual talent.
- 4:53Speaker 6: But when I started doing the bigger clubs, then I
- 4:55Speaker 6: saw like, all right, I might gotta put that shit
- 4:59Speaker 6: on sometimes.
- 5:00Speaker 9: So did anybody say that to anybody? Was just like,
- 5:03Speaker 9: I mean you.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Kind of you kind of noticed, like if I'm DJing
- 5:07Speaker 6: after or before somebody, and I'm like, well, why am
- 5:09Speaker 6: I not closing? It could be because she came in
- 5:12Speaker 6: with address on?
- 5:13Speaker 2: So yeah, that what that was going to be.
- 5:15Speaker 9: The next question, how do y'all feel about you know, uh,
- 5:18Speaker 9: I don't really see a lot of female DJs closing, you.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Know, I've been in the game ten plus years. The
- 5:26Speaker 4: whole closing thing is it's a conversation that depends on
- 5:28Speaker 4: if you headlining and different things like that. But do
- 5:30Speaker 4: I want to close in the city where y'all going
- 5:32Speaker 4: to probably try to pay me the same as the opener,
- 5:34Speaker 4: I'm going home at twelve o'clock, rubbing my feet together,
- 5:36Speaker 4: watching lifetime.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I'm not here to do that.
- 5:40Speaker 6: I feel like, or do you want to close in
- 5:41Speaker 6: a city where you don't know who's watching you in
- 5:44Speaker 6: the club and you got to go home by yourself?
- 5:46Speaker 3: Like that's happening either way?
- 5:48Speaker 6: Wow, we don't like, don't want to be okay, that's
- 5:51Speaker 6: in general minds is completely different.
- 5:53Speaker 7: Like I'm trying to get home like I got I
- 5:56Speaker 7: feel I take it to heart, like being in a
- 5:58Speaker 7: bill with my baby, Like it'd be like how be
- 6:00Speaker 7: out in the club, So I prefer.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Now to do something earlier time shift?
- 6:08Speaker 6: Wow, dang, But what female DJs we do get respected
- 6:12Speaker 6: more when it comes to like what price we want?
- 6:15Speaker 6: So open it up for us is like why would
- 6:17Speaker 6: I want to close?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Wow? So you will get a little bit more to open.
- 6:23Speaker 3: You should get more closed, you should get more money
- 6:27Speaker 3: to close.
- 6:27Speaker 4: But a lot of times these promoters that try to
- 6:29Speaker 4: give the opener and the closes of the same price.
- 6:31Speaker 3: So what am I here busting my ass for?
- 6:33Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, trying to prove myself and
- 6:35Speaker 4: really it's nothing to prove at the end of the day,
- 6:37Speaker 4: after you donet made a name for yourself. So it's
- 6:39Speaker 4: like knock yourself out. For me, it's like, let the
- 6:40Speaker 4: younger kids have it. I done did it. I don't
- 6:42Speaker 4: been at Cafe Circle on a Saturday from three pm
- 6:44Speaker 4: to three am for years, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:47Speaker 4: And to be piggyback off of what she said, Like
- 6:49Speaker 4: my first nine years of the game, it was all
- 6:52Speaker 4: about the skill set, the I didn't care about how
- 6:55Speaker 4: I looked or none of that. I didn't give a
- 6:57Speaker 4: fuck about that. It was mainly about I want to
- 6:59Speaker 4: be respected. I want to I want to out hustle
- 7:01Speaker 4: everybody as far as I'll work all day. I don't
- 7:03Speaker 4: give a fuck like you want to add another gig.
- 7:05Speaker 4: It's times I would DJ from twelve pm to four
- 7:07Speaker 4: in the morning, just go from one gig to the
- 7:09Speaker 4: next one.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I did that shit for years. So now I was like,
- 7:11Speaker 3: I pay my dues.
- 7:11Speaker 6: And then we're not trying to be around the promoters
- 7:14Speaker 6: after they done drunk three bottles.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I'm about to head there.
- 7:20Speaker 3: But they do that on a check in. If you that,
- 7:22Speaker 3: they just gonna try you regardless, like the ready.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So I'm about to head there. I love all three
- 7:28Speaker 1: of you guys like my sisters.
- 7:29Speaker 2: For real.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I've known each of you guys over five years. I
- 7:32Speaker 1: want to say close some of you guys maybe close
- 7:34Speaker 1: to ten, especially YouTube. You know, what I'm saying is
- 7:37Speaker 1: a little newer. So as a very attractive DJ, female DJ,
- 7:45Speaker 1: how do you guys navigate? First of all, people coming
- 7:48Speaker 1: to the boots to request music that's already annoying but
- 7:52Speaker 1: security okay, but what about now you got the guys saying, hey,
- 7:57Speaker 1: what's up? Oh shit?
- 7:58Speaker 2: What's up? Like?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Are there annoying moments that you guys be like a man?
- 8:02Speaker 1: You're doing too much while you're trying to mix. Why
- 8:05Speaker 1: you're trying to DJ? Someone's trying to holler at you
- 8:07Speaker 1: about this? Someone's actually trying to hoghller at you while
- 8:11Speaker 1: navigating through a club, body in the club, DJing, mixing,
- 8:15Speaker 1: all these things going through your mind, and you got
- 8:17Speaker 1: to deal with all the extra stuff about being a
- 8:19Speaker 1: woman and the DJ PAINNY I want you to go first.
- 8:23Speaker 7: I feel like I feel like I don't know what
- 8:26Speaker 7: it is because I literally just was having this conversation
- 8:28Speaker 7: with another female DJ, like a few days ago, and
- 8:30Speaker 7: she was just saying about how the DJ's be trying
- 8:32Speaker 7: her and this and the third and I feel like
- 8:33Speaker 7: I don't deal with that. I feel like I get
- 8:36Speaker 7: a certain level of respect for but like niggas know
- 8:39Speaker 7: not to play with me. Like niggas know I get money,
- 8:41Speaker 7: they know all of that shit. So if you got
- 8:43Speaker 7: come a certain way, you got come correct whatever. Then,
- 8:45Speaker 7: like I said, the people who I came up with
- 8:47Speaker 7: down here, they respected them, so they showed me another
- 8:49Speaker 7: level of respect. Then on top of that, like's I
- 8:51Speaker 7: didn't covered every angle. I didn't went to scratch academy
- 8:54Speaker 7: with niggas can really scratch about it than me. I
- 8:56Speaker 7: didn't fucking did like I didn't did put myself in
- 8:58Speaker 7: a position where I feel like they can't really fuck
- 9:01Speaker 7: with me. And I think when people be intimidated to
- 9:02Speaker 7: buy people that don't really fuck with them and don't
- 9:04Speaker 7: I don't have that. Niggas don't be trying me. Niggas
- 9:06Speaker 7: don't try me about my paper. Niggas don't like, they
- 9:09Speaker 7: don't do none of that. I don't really what about
- 9:11Speaker 7: the people in the crowd though, Like the crowd don't
- 9:13Speaker 7: even I don't like I'm trying to think, like the
- 9:14Speaker 7: crowd don't be bothering me like I always got And
- 9:17Speaker 7: then to be other niggas that really fucked me.
- 9:18Speaker 8: Or I fuck with me, they be right there gatekeeping.
- 9:20Speaker 7: I guess, like nobody don't really fuck with me. Like
- 9:22Speaker 7: I don't deal with that. Like I feel like maybe
- 9:25Speaker 7: a few times when I.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Was coming up, but now no, yeah, like I said,
- 9:29Speaker 6: like you said, like I'm a little newer to the city,
- 9:32Speaker 6: I have had that happen. But something you just gotta
- 9:34Speaker 6: let niggas know, like I'm not.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Going for that.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, okay.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Majority of the time I've been in relationships in my career,
- 9:42Speaker 4: and I think a lot of times I've been in
- 9:44Speaker 4: relationships to protect myself, you know what I'm saying in
- 9:46Speaker 4: a lot of ways. So I took this serious as
- 9:49Speaker 4: far as becoming a DJ, because I was a bartender
- 9:51Speaker 4: turned DJ. So I've been in the club since I
- 9:53Speaker 4: was eighteen years old, coming from New York, moving here
- 9:55Speaker 4: or whatever to Atlanta.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So I don't know, like I just.
- 9:59Speaker 1: My camera barton never so coming next.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah, So I mean it come with it.
- 10:04Speaker 4: At the end of the day, if you attract the female,
- 10:05Speaker 4: I don't care if you DJ or if you whatever
- 10:07Speaker 4: it is, and people in that space they drinking or
- 10:09Speaker 4: whatever the case may be. There's a level of you
- 10:12Speaker 4: could be nice or be cool, but you know, no,
- 10:14Speaker 4: not to cross the line. But I don't mind being
- 10:16Speaker 4: cool or whatever. I don't have to. It's not like, oh,
- 10:18Speaker 4: I'm you know, all outside and all of that type
- 10:21Speaker 4: of stuff. It just is what it is, Like, I'm cool.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I know niggas like females. So you can not only
- 10:25Speaker 4: just the dudes. You gotta think the females. We in Atlanta,
- 10:28Speaker 4: like you might get hit on by the.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Girls words and might try to fill you up, like
- 10:37Speaker 3: maybe girls like a little.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Bit more intimidated.
- 10:40Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, because I know I'd be looking me half
- 10:42Speaker 6: of the time, but that they.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Like that, it's scary.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's I always want to ask you, guys, this's the women.
- 10:52Speaker 8: They be extra and they'd be bold to really.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so I always wanted to ask you this, do
- 10:57Speaker 1: you guys play for the women or the women?
- 11:03Speaker 3: That's that's that was the cheat code. I feel like before.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Before female DJs became really like popular because when we
- 11:10Speaker 4: came in the game, it probably we could count how
- 11:12Speaker 4: many was out here. Right now it's very popular even
- 11:15Speaker 4: with social media. But that was the cold you feel
- 11:17Speaker 4: me the dudes was just you know, doing what they do.
- 11:20Speaker 4: We came in the game and we got the girls
- 11:22Speaker 4: moving absolutely, So the guys don't care they playing their
- 11:25Speaker 4: homeboy song. They trying to break this record. They play
- 11:27Speaker 4: trying to play the hottest record that's like the you know,
- 11:30Speaker 4: the most trappiest song they could think of. We come
- 11:32Speaker 4: in and just set the vibe and then now it's
- 11:34Speaker 4: like now the dudes are opening up to that, and
- 11:35Speaker 4: it's like all right now, y'all, you know, dropping different records.
- 11:38Speaker 6: From you know, I'm bad idea to let a female
- 11:41Speaker 6: close the club because we listened to music different than
- 11:43Speaker 6: men do.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So you guys have a okay, would you say you
- 11:47Speaker 1: have a completely different ear than your male co workers? Yeah?
- 11:52Speaker 3: Not the R and B lovers, some of them they
- 11:54Speaker 3: be knowing.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Do you think that you guys would be better R
- 11:57Speaker 1: and B DJs than of course, I'm not trying to
- 12:01Speaker 1: put nothing against nothing. I'm just saying because usually I
- 12:05Speaker 1: feel like I was just always taught as a DJ
- 12:08Speaker 1: and as a host, you play towards the women in
- 12:11Speaker 1: the club because then the guys will follow the women.
- 12:14Speaker 1: That's just how it go. So I feel like, who
- 12:17Speaker 1: better than a female DJ to do an R and
- 12:19Speaker 1: B party.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Right, You don't see a lot of females doing R
- 12:22Speaker 2: and B parties. I do.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That's mainly my lane.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Really, that's all I get booked for most majority of
- 12:27Speaker 4: the time, and it's other stuff.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I want to get into other genres.
- 12:30Speaker 1: But R and B is you could play some shit
- 12:32Speaker 1: that mother'd be like, oh, I forgot about that. I'm
- 12:35Speaker 1: gonna play just the ship that I'm not R and B.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I want to hear bang bang kill, shoot them up.
- 12:39Speaker 7: You find it interesting when certain male DJs like do
- 12:43Speaker 7: the R and B because it gives.
- 12:44Speaker 8: Me like, oh, this is what the niggas like, like, oh.
- 12:49Speaker 7: Song like that? I don't know, and I don't get
- 12:51Speaker 7: sucked up. It's some fire R and B like male DJs.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I agree, I agree. I just I've never seen with
- 12:58Speaker 1: my two eyes a female uh do an R and
- 13:01Speaker 1: B party. I'm just gonna I'm gonna be a little ignorant.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I don't really like R and B like that.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah, he hates.
- 13:07Speaker 1: My wife loves R and B, so I played to
- 13:09Speaker 1: her right, so I know what she likes. So if
- 13:11Speaker 1: I'm doing some R and B vibes, I'm gonna play
- 13:13Speaker 1: what I know My wife likes, which will then intend
- 13:16Speaker 1: mother be like, what the hell do you even knowing
- 13:17Speaker 1: about that? Cheeko? That's my cheakote. However, I just never
- 13:22Speaker 1: saw a female.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I mean, every Thursday don with Mixed Master, David Whiskey,
- 13:26Speaker 4: Mistress R and.
- 13:27Speaker 1: B Party, I need to come to that.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Yeah, and miss Fire we playing everything, I mean from
- 13:32Speaker 4: the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties to now, like it's everything.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Mixed Master got a deep a deep bag absolutely told
- 13:41Speaker 1: me we had like thirty thousand songs on his laptop.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, that's that's the way right now. Honestly,
- 13:46Speaker 4: I feel like one, you know how Atlanta is once
- 13:49Speaker 4: one thing hit and it's like ten thousand R and
- 13:51Speaker 4: B parties.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Now yeah yeah, okay, So all right, I hate to
- 13:56Speaker 1: say it, but I know you ladies have personal lives
- 13:59Speaker 1: as well. What is that like as a entrepreneur, because
- 14:04Speaker 1: you guys are serial entrepreneurs. You you get paid to entertain,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and then you have to have multiple things of income
- 14:12Speaker 1: as well, because you know, you can't just do one thing,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and especially in Atlanta, you know, starting with you, Sugar Shade,
- 14:19Speaker 1: what how does your what does your personal life look like?
- 14:22Speaker 1: As who you are.
- 14:24Speaker 4: My personal life right now is like super busy. I
- 14:27Speaker 4: don't have time for nothing.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Like so youn't have time for personal life.
- 14:30Speaker 3: My personal life.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Majority of the time. When I need that time, I'm
- 14:34Speaker 4: out of town or I'm out of the country. Honestly,
- 14:36Speaker 4: when i'm literally I live in Atlanta to work. You know,
- 14:40Speaker 4: if I'm not working, I'm not here. So if I
- 14:42Speaker 4: need to get away to where I don't have to
- 14:43Speaker 4: worry about things happening, I have to go out of
- 14:45Speaker 4: town so I can like really like unwind. So if
- 14:47Speaker 4: I am with a you know, an individual or the
- 14:50Speaker 4: person that I deal with, I'm out of town majority
- 14:53Speaker 4: at the time because that's where I feel more at peace.
- 14:55Speaker 4: But when I'm home, it's constant. I have a tight
- 14:57Speaker 4: schedule to run. I got dogs at you know me,
- 15:01Speaker 4: and I have like, you know, all this business stuff
- 15:03Speaker 4: I have to do, you know what I'm saying, just
- 15:05Speaker 4: like we have to turn in mixes, invoices and making
- 15:09Speaker 4: sure this is sent over. Like I have to dedicate
- 15:11Speaker 4: just maybe my mondays to just making sure all my
- 15:13Speaker 4: pa you know, all of that stuff is handled.
- 15:15Speaker 3: So it's like you have to really be serious about.
- 15:16Speaker 4: This because it's not a joke, you know what I'm saying,
- 15:18Speaker 4: And you feel guilty when you're not doing that because
- 15:20Speaker 4: it's somebody else that's out here really.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Like you know, doing what they need to do, you
- 15:24Speaker 3: know what I'm saying.
- 15:25Speaker 4: So you can miss one second or something or opportunity,
- 15:27Speaker 4: so you always got to be on it. So really,
- 15:29Speaker 4: the only time I have a personal life is when
- 15:31Speaker 4: I'm not here.
- 15:33Speaker 6: So my personal life I just choose like to stay
- 15:36Speaker 6: off of social media, so I don't post my personal
- 15:39Speaker 6: life like so people feel like they know me, but
- 15:41Speaker 6: you only know what I post. So that's how I
- 15:44Speaker 6: keep my sanity. But like she said, I'm always busy,
- 15:49Speaker 6: Like from the time I wake up to the time
- 15:50Speaker 6: I go to sleep, I'm always doing something.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Okay, oh same, always busy, but I do obviously I got.
- 15:57Speaker 1: A baby, so but you have a new baby.
- 16:00Speaker 7: And I personally like the guys I date. I personally
- 16:03Speaker 7: date like guys who I know are not jealous type
- 16:06Speaker 7: of guys I'll date like mister moms, like I need
- 16:09Speaker 7: a nigga that could cook.
- 16:13Speaker 8: Because I'm not.
- 16:13Speaker 7: I'm so busy and I'm traveling all the time, and
- 16:15Speaker 7: I don't so I'm not in the kitchen cooking.
- 16:17Speaker 8: My nigga could cook or you can.
- 16:20Speaker 1: That's that's that's that's that's dope.
- 16:21Speaker 7: Not jealous, he's not. He's a team player. Like he's
- 16:24Speaker 7: whatever I need, whatever, he's right with.
- 16:27Speaker 8: It, you know what I'm saying.
- 16:28Speaker 7: So and I personally like like I just just what
- 16:32Speaker 7: I prefer to date, Like I prefer like when I
- 16:34Speaker 7: even when I meet a nigga be like, do you
- 16:36Speaker 7: know how to cook? Do you know how to X
- 16:38Speaker 7: y Z? Do you know how to can you fulfill?
- 16:40Speaker 7: Like like that's just a quite like you know how
- 16:42Speaker 7: guys were looking for a girl who could cook clean
- 16:44Speaker 7: And that's me.
- 16:46Speaker 8: That's what I do when I.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Have to be like that because we're like our personalities
- 16:51Speaker 4: were dominant even for us to be in the position
- 16:53Speaker 4: that we in. We dominate, so we can't even deal
- 16:55Speaker 4: with certain type of guys.
- 16:56Speaker 3: So you gotta fall in.
- 16:57Speaker 4: You just signed up to be an assistant. Didn't even
- 16:59Speaker 4: realize the ship you get like you did, and it
- 17:01Speaker 4: just is what it is. And sometimes we try, I've
- 17:04Speaker 4: tried to date guys.
- 17:04Speaker 1: That's like a willing assistant.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Yeah, willing, absolutely, you know what I'm saying, you gotta
- 17:09Speaker 4: do it with a smile.
- 17:11Speaker 5: I don't really like you. He's gonna do it.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Now, what do y'all get y'all names from?
- 17:16Speaker 4: Okay, so, uh, my homegirl Tiffany Fox shout out to Yes,
- 17:22Speaker 4: Saint Louis or whatever. I've been cool for like fifteen
- 17:25Speaker 4: years and like I've been sugar Shehet for like mad long,
- 17:28Speaker 4: Like that's my best friend, She's she that. Yeah, sugar
- 17:31Speaker 4: Shehet has always been my name, just even before DJ.
- 17:34Speaker 4: And so once I decided to DJ, I wanted something
- 17:35Speaker 4: that was already connected to me, so it just made sense.
- 17:38Speaker 3: It was already a persona was already a thing.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, pretty simple? Is my middle name?
- 17:43Speaker 1: Okay? I like yours? Well, first of all, I like
- 17:47Speaker 1: all three y'alls, but I like yours because it's a
- 17:49Speaker 1: penny and it's like a little it's a little logo.
- 17:52Speaker 7: Y'all gonna probably laugh and how I got my name?
- 17:55Speaker 7: But like, all right, so boom, I ain't start DJing.
- 17:57Speaker 7: I started j I'm like twenty seven, right, so I've
- 17:59Speaker 7: graduated college, had my degrees, I was working in corporate
- 18:03Speaker 7: for ten years, right, so I'm finally I'm asking God like, y'all,
- 18:06Speaker 7: I gotta get out of this, like I.
- 18:07Speaker 8: Ain't trying to.
- 18:07Speaker 7: I don't want to do this shit no more, Like
- 18:09Speaker 7: I need da da da Can you move it around in.
- 18:11Speaker 8: My life, make it happen for me? So Boom, one
- 18:14Speaker 8: of my homeboys like, yo, I had a dream. I
- 18:16Speaker 8: feel like you should dj DJ. He's like, no, yes
- 18:20Speaker 8: you can.
- 18:20Speaker 7: He's like, I had a dream, and he's like, I'm
- 18:22Speaker 7: a teacher and my dream he wasn't somebody that I
- 18:25Speaker 7: dealt with all the time or whatever, like we were
- 18:26Speaker 7: cool and then so I'm like, no, I brushed it off.
- 18:28Speaker 8: Then seeing him again, he's like.
- 18:30Speaker 7: Bro, I keep having this dream that you need to DJ,
- 18:33Speaker 7: and he like, just do one lesson with me, like
- 18:35Speaker 7: no harm, no foul, whatever. So we did the lesson
- 18:37Speaker 7: x y Z and I'm catching on and I'm wucking
- 18:40Speaker 7: with it. I already love music all that shit. So Boom,
- 18:42Speaker 7: as I'm practicing, I gotta coming out. He praanted me
- 18:45Speaker 7: like a coming out party. I don't have no name yet.
- 18:47Speaker 7: So I'm like, I'm driving to work one day, It's
- 18:50Speaker 7: like six o'clock in the morning. I'm driving to work
- 18:52Speaker 7: and Drake is on the radio and this nigga like
- 18:55Speaker 7: it's happened in Penny Lane, just like you said.
- 18:59Speaker 8: I was, like, my name was DJ.
- 19:00Speaker 7: Penny, like I fucking said it was.
- 19:05Speaker 8: So yeah, that's literally how I got my name.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So as again, entrepreneurs, what's like your
- 19:13Speaker 1: end plan? Do you have a goal end result? Like
- 19:17Speaker 1: is there a retirement type of plan that you guys have?
- 19:20Speaker 7: So I feel like I don't like I'm about to
- 19:22Speaker 7: be Jersey Jeff fifty sixty still fucking DJing, but not
- 19:26Speaker 7: just only DJ and it's just that, you know, I
- 19:28Speaker 7: do got I got recording studios, and I got artists.
- 19:32Speaker 8: My artists can camp.
- 19:34Speaker 1: On the top of the bottom.
- 19:37Speaker 8: Yeah, I got a producer, scientist.
- 19:39Speaker 7: I'm about to put out some music, about to do
- 19:40Speaker 7: the okay for all that type of stuff. And then
- 19:43Speaker 7: I'm transitioning and my R and B to my top
- 19:46Speaker 7: forty to all that type of shit. So I just
- 19:49Speaker 7: got a whole another little campaign because ever since I
- 19:51Speaker 7: had my baby, I ain't I haven't went back to
- 19:53Speaker 7: the clubs, Like I sound like a stripper.
- 19:57Speaker 1: That's another episode on the way, by the way.
- 19:59Speaker 7: It's like I was telling y'all like I like it's
- 20:02Speaker 7: just like I just can't be not home with my baby,
- 20:05Speaker 7: like like you feel me.
- 20:06Speaker 1: So whatever works for you though, right right on the.
- 20:10Speaker 7: Radio still and I do go through my fly y'all,
- 20:12Speaker 7: do my dates and come right back the next ding
- 20:14Speaker 7: and ship like that. But so yeah, like my end
- 20:16Speaker 7: plan is a lot of ship, Like I plan to
- 20:18Speaker 7: take this all away millions and millions and millions of dollars.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Now you got a dope podcast, DJs Need Love to
- 20:26Speaker 1: You featured meet on there. I appreciate you having me.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I think that was a couple of years ago, but
- 20:31Speaker 1: run that back for sure.
- 20:33Speaker 6: But like, yeah, the podcast, and then I do have
- 20:36Speaker 6: a business up and coming. Don't want to talk too
- 20:38Speaker 6: much about it, okay, but because I don't want to
- 20:40Speaker 6: be in the clubs as much. But I still do
- 20:42Speaker 6: want a DJ long term though, but just when I
- 20:45Speaker 6: want to.
- 20:47Speaker 4: My end goal is just my time and my freedom.
- 20:50Speaker 4: So I really want to live off the grid in
- 20:53Speaker 4: another country, okay, and DJ when I feel like it,
- 20:57Speaker 4: like when I want to, and it's gotta be like
- 20:59Speaker 4: fuss and things like that, but I really want my time.
- 21:02Speaker 4: I want to be able to just you know, I'm
- 21:04Speaker 4: about the residuals at this point, make my investments.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Do it I need to do. But I'm chilling.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I want to get up and do whatever I want
- 21:09Speaker 4: to do, you know what I'm saying. And that's just that.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Like I want spaghetti today, I am going to Italy.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Like that's the life that I want, like with my dogs,
- 21:15Speaker 4: and I'm cool. I don't want the kids, like I'm
- 21:17Speaker 4: cool on that.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh you don't.
- 21:18Speaker 3: I do not want children.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Okay, so you already have your fur babies.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Absolutely want in spirit.
- 21:24Speaker 4: I can't talk about that because I'm gonna cry. Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 4: but one in spirit. But yeah, I'm a dog mom
- 21:30Speaker 4: and yeah that's cool. That's all I want for a
- 21:32Speaker 4: for real. Just my time, my freedom. I feel like
- 21:34Speaker 4: time is so we put so much emphasis on money,
- 21:36Speaker 4: but time is the ship.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Like I love that and I just want to be away.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Okay. Now, speaking on money, does.
- 21:44Speaker 9: I guess the the uh what DJs make right now
- 21:49Speaker 9: in Atlanta? Does that kind of take away from like
- 21:52Speaker 9: really like the love of like wanting.
- 21:54Speaker 2: To like be motivated to go do a club.
- 21:56Speaker 8: Now I get paid, Yeah, I get paid what I
- 21:59Speaker 8: want to.
- 22:00Speaker 4: I get paid what I want to, But I don't
- 22:02Speaker 4: I wouldn't say the money.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I would feel like, honestly.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Maybe burning yourself out, like working too much.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I would say it's the crowd.
- 22:10Speaker 4: When I DJ other places, they have so much fun
- 22:14Speaker 4: and they're ready to receive it. DJing in Atlanta is
- 22:16Speaker 4: like a I literally feel like I'm about to fight somebody.
- 22:19Speaker 4: I'm on a defense. When I go other places, they
- 22:20Speaker 4: be like, yo, you can relax. You could just chill enjoy.
- 22:23Speaker 4: I don't even know how to do that because on
- 22:24Speaker 4: DJ and Atlanta it's like, literally, I'm about to fight somebody.
- 22:26Speaker 4: That's why, because I'm trying to see what you want,
- 22:28Speaker 4: how you want this, and you got the promoter telling.
- 22:30Speaker 3: You will turn up, but it's an R and B party,
- 22:32Speaker 3: So turn up? What do you mean? Like, what are
- 22:34Speaker 3: we talking about? You know what I'm saying. It's annoying.
- 22:37Speaker 4: It's like y'all taking away from the aesthetic of how
- 22:39Speaker 4: this ship is supposed to go. You can even create
- 22:40Speaker 4: a vibe because they don't even like that. Everything rushed
- 22:43Speaker 4: and so you know, I don't like that. Really, that's
- 22:45Speaker 4: it's not the money, because I do get paid what
- 22:47Speaker 4: I want, but it's just the whole it's the vibe.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Like, why am I here? I could have stayed at
- 22:51Speaker 3: home for this shit.
- 22:52Speaker 6: I DJ a a party, big party on a Friday,
- 22:55Speaker 6: and this was my first time doing that party, and
- 22:59Speaker 6: a promoter up it was like, can I get a
- 23:01Speaker 6: Drake set? I said, I'm gonna really feel like playing
- 23:03Speaker 6: on Drake right now. And I said, I'm not the DJ.
- 23:06Speaker 6: I'm not gonna say the DJ's name, but I'm like,
- 23:08Speaker 6: I'm not him, so I don't want.
- 23:11Speaker 5: To play Drake.
- 23:13Speaker 9: Work.
- 23:14Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Now she's again, See he never booked you again? You
- 23:17Speaker 1: didn't do tell me?
- 23:20Speaker 8: Ain't I want to book you, but you're too expensive.
- 23:22Speaker 8: I'm like, well, at least you know appreciate it.
- 23:24Speaker 1: But that's what And that's what happened to me after.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I'll tell you I said this from the last DJ episode.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I was DJing and y'all see me. I was Damnar
- 23:30Speaker 1: seven days a week BT same thing, and my wife
- 23:34Speaker 1: had our last baby and all my gigs. You know,
- 23:37Speaker 1: I just took a break. I felt like I deserved it.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I had been DJing so long. I've been in the
- 23:42Speaker 1: club since I was eighteen, so I'm forty two. Now,
- 23:45Speaker 1: that's how long I've been in the clubs, so I
- 23:47Speaker 1: had took a break, and then when I was ready
- 23:49Speaker 1: to come back, everybody was like, man, for I got
- 23:51Speaker 1: this young guy and he's doing it for two hondred
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm over here.
- 24:00Speaker 9: He gonna grow up one day words, and so I
- 24:03Speaker 9: could have.
- 24:04Speaker 1: He was like, oh, can we negotiate. I was like, no,
- 24:06Speaker 1: I'm not negotiating. IM already give you a discount. And
- 24:09Speaker 1: that's when I just stopped for a little bit. I
- 24:11Speaker 1: haven't been back. I go back if he want me
- 24:13Speaker 1: to come back, and we'll do some ship for the
- 24:14Speaker 1: ball or show on the big weekend or something like that.
- 24:17Speaker 1: But shit, I'm cool. I just I be DJing on
- 24:19Speaker 1: the radio now and I touch away more people.
- 24:21Speaker 3: I go around love.
- 24:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I go around aid to.
- 24:24Speaker 3: That's it.
- 24:24Speaker 4: And I don't care if it's like off the you know, like, yo,
- 24:27Speaker 4: why you dj R because it's not the hottest spot.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Because they pay me good. You know what I'm saying.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I'm eating chicken wings, you know what I'm saying.
- 24:34Speaker 1: They'll pay me right as soon as I get there
- 24:35Speaker 1: or before I get there. I don't got to call
- 24:38Speaker 1: you and search for my bro.
- 24:39Speaker 6: All my gigs, I have now I get paid the
- 24:41Speaker 6: same night, Like that's what my gigs.
- 24:43Speaker 5: I get paid the same night.
- 24:44Speaker 4: And they know what you do. They ain't stressing you.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Everybody's having a good Let you rock out, you.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Know what it is. The women don't figured it out.
- 24:52Speaker 6: DJ men you have to when you when somebody tries
- 24:56Speaker 6: to bookie, you need to go ahead and put on
- 24:57Speaker 6: the table what you expect, like this is what I want.
- 25:00Speaker 7: Or that's why I have lost it because they hit me,
- 25:03Speaker 7: they booked me or whatever they like, Yeah we do
- 25:05Speaker 7: thirty I said I do today.
- 25:07Speaker 2: What I.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Got that today?
- 25:11Speaker 5: That's like my second question when it's payout, because.
- 25:14Speaker 1: It has to be that's usually my first question.
- 25:16Speaker 4: My thing is too, not that I have a question,
- 25:18Speaker 4: but I feel like we need to talk about how
- 25:20Speaker 4: people miss the fact that DJing period is very emotional.
- 25:24Speaker 4: It's very emotional, even for the men. A lot of
- 25:26Speaker 4: the men are so emotional, like oh my God, like
- 25:30Speaker 4: people have died over this ship because it's very emotional.
- 25:32Speaker 1: It's a feeling because when you DJ, it's a feeling.
- 25:35Speaker 4: They get so high or not only just that the
- 25:38Speaker 4: competitiveness and I'm better than this nigga that nigga, like, yo,
- 25:41Speaker 4: just do you who cares you? Feel me like, nigga,
- 25:43Speaker 4: be ready to fight you over that ship. And it's
- 25:45Speaker 4: like even for when we come into the picture, they
- 25:47Speaker 4: looking at us like you know what I'm saying.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Like it's like like I don't.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Give a fun Yeah, yeah that happens. Oh no for shore.
- 25:57Speaker 1: One time I'm a boy Alpo, they had me al pole,
- 26:00Speaker 1: but luckily I posed my friend and we talked on
- 26:02Speaker 1: the side and I quit because it was just too
- 26:04Speaker 1: much jounk.
- 26:05Speaker 4: People have died over this ship. DJs have died over
- 26:08Speaker 4: jealousy for sure.
- 26:09Speaker 9: Why I do feel like people in the clubs try
- 26:13Speaker 9: to pin people against each other because like I dodn't
- 26:16Speaker 9: been there, I done got booked the host places and
- 26:18Speaker 9: they'll be like, oh, well, well you know such and
- 26:20Speaker 9: such du it for this. I'm like, shit, go book that, nigga.
- 26:22Speaker 3: I'm out word. It's not a p You'll be fine.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I started as a home I started as a host,
- 26:29Speaker 1: got bored because I was doing all a G parties
- 26:32Speaker 1: and I just got bored. And then at the last
- 26:35Speaker 1: thirty minutes of AG party, I would just get on
- 26:38Speaker 1: with dj A's DJH would let me DJ for the
- 26:40Speaker 1: last thirty minutes and then they was like, bro, you
- 26:43Speaker 1: all right? So I bought some DJ equipment and I
- 26:46Speaker 1: never forget a sneaker. A sneaker event offered me two
- 26:50Speaker 1: grand to DJ this event, right. I was like, I
- 26:52Speaker 1: don't know how the DJ as he was like, Nigga,
- 26:55Speaker 1: I'll give you a quick tutorial. And ever since then,
- 26:58Speaker 1: I was like, ah, I I ain't had no music
- 27:01Speaker 1: or nothing. Majority of my library, thank god, one time
- 27:03Speaker 1: my boy DJ A's majority of my album A library
- 27:06Speaker 1: is DJ A's and DJ Bluetooth. I got all their
- 27:10Speaker 1: music and at the time I wasn't blended because I
- 27:12Speaker 1: didn't know how to blend. I was playing the song
- 27:14Speaker 1: is to go off and play another song because it
- 27:15Speaker 1: was a DJ sneaker event. It was a sneaker event.
- 27:18Speaker 1: And yeah, ever since then I started DJ. But yeah, man,
- 27:20Speaker 1: it's all emotion. I appreciate you ladies. We do got
- 27:23Speaker 1: one more thing. You got another question?
- 27:25Speaker 9: Uh not really listen to something that y'all want to
- 27:28Speaker 9: touch on and talk about.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I just wanted to do something called the mental health
- 27:31Speaker 1: check in when you guys are you know again? We
- 27:37Speaker 1: didn't talk to money long it's not called a bad day,
- 27:40Speaker 1: I know. Right, So if you're having a moment, Penny Lane,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you start, what do you What does Penny Lane do
- 27:47Speaker 1: when she's having a moment, a bad day or a moment?
- 27:51Speaker 1: What do you do? Do you meditate? Do you talk
- 27:54Speaker 1: to a therapist? Like what do you do to feel bad?
- 27:57Speaker 8: No? No, I get this.
- 28:00Speaker 7: I'll be cussing everybody out, every name in the book,
- 28:03Speaker 7: like if I be in the house all day, like
- 28:05Speaker 7: just fucking talking ship you Like, I like that's what
- 28:08Speaker 7: I just. I gotta get my ship off, like I
- 28:10Speaker 7: gotta get my shirt out, and then like I don't
- 28:12Speaker 7: really need that's my therapy for real, Like I ain't
- 28:16Speaker 7: talking whatever it is. I'm talking all mad cast ship
- 28:20Speaker 7: like I'm talking all types of ship. And then until
- 28:22Speaker 7: I felt that's how I do because I ain't. I mean,
- 28:26Speaker 7: I don't do the therapy and all of that, although
- 28:27Speaker 7: I believe in therapy some people I believe in that.
- 28:30Speaker 7: But yeah, if I'm having a bad day, I get
- 28:32Speaker 7: my ship off and then I'm a shopper, like I
- 28:34Speaker 7: go spend some money, buy some ship out.
- 28:36Speaker 6: Like for me, well, I can say like recently I
- 28:41Speaker 6: did I lost my dad. So I went to work
- 28:44Speaker 6: the same day, but I just cry, Like that's how
- 28:47Speaker 6: I get my emotions out.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I'm a cryer.
- 28:50Speaker 5: And probably go for a walk.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah that's what you do. You go for walks.
- 28:55Speaker 5: Yeah, like bike ride, walk like anything outside.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Okay, So yeah, for me, I just get it out
- 29:03Speaker 4: in the gym, like I go crazy.
- 29:05Speaker 1: And I thank you.
- 29:08Speaker 4: I'll lift weights, I box, I'll do whatever I need
- 29:10Speaker 4: to do because I'm very introverted, you know what I'm saying.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I don't I don't like to do a lot of
- 29:14Speaker 4: arguing and stuff like that. I just literally put my
- 29:17Speaker 4: piano on in my headphones and just go crazy for
- 29:20Speaker 4: two hours, five days a week if that's what I
- 29:22Speaker 4: need to do, and then catch a flight. So it's like, honestly,
- 29:25Speaker 4: whenever I'm not in Atlanta, I am. I am me
- 29:28Speaker 4: When I when my plane sets foot on the runway
- 29:31Speaker 4: in Atlanta, I just be like it's like and I
- 29:35Speaker 4: hate to be like that, but it's something I don't
- 29:36Speaker 4: know if it's low vibration.
- 29:37Speaker 3: I don't know what it is. But it doesn't sit
- 29:39Speaker 3: on my spirit no more.
- 29:41Speaker 4: But it's like I have to get away because it
- 29:42Speaker 4: does put me in a very negative spirit, like, but
- 29:46Speaker 4: when I'm going, I'll be having a fucking blast.
- 29:49Speaker 2: What's some of your favorite places of to.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Loon is like my favorite right now? Like that's almost
- 29:54Speaker 4: like my homeland. Like that's how I like to me too.
- 29:57Speaker 4: I feel like, am I Mexican? Like what's going on?
- 29:59Speaker 4: Like I really love it, Like I could go there.
- 30:01Speaker 4: I literally, honestly I would live there. Like that's how
- 30:03Speaker 4: much I love it because time stop and it's just
- 30:05Speaker 4: so therapeutic. It's spiritual. So I'm on that type of
- 30:09Speaker 4: you know, I'm very spiritual. I'm in tune. I get
- 30:12Speaker 4: everything so I could feel it. So that's where I'm
- 30:13Speaker 4: on right now.
- 30:14Speaker 1: So I'm I'm from Florida originally right outside of Disney World.
- 30:18Speaker 1: This is a city called Kasimi. Nice, big ass Airbnb's pools, everything.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Just take the wife and the kids down there and
- 30:28Speaker 1: I just be cool. I had my little vacation. I
- 30:31Speaker 1: tried to do it once a year for a week.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Oh man, I'm telling y'all, like shit, you could you know,
- 30:36Speaker 1: I have a family, So I got five kids, wife,
- 30:41Speaker 1: blended family too, so two of my kids don't live
- 30:43Speaker 1: with me. But but yeah, man, I appreciate you guys.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I have a lot of respect for you guys individually.
- 30:50Speaker 2: What do you do BT, I told you he walked, Yeah,
- 30:53Speaker 2: I walked like.
- 30:56Speaker 9: Get in my sugar shape bag and I'd be like, man,
- 30:58Speaker 9: I'm about to take I'm like, I'm going to Miami.
- 31:02Speaker 9: I go to Mexico and all I need to do
- 31:04Speaker 9: is be bosting waters.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I have to have a flight book.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Like as I'm waiting for my like to get home,
- 31:10Speaker 4: I have another flight book before I get I cannot
- 31:13Speaker 4: take it.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Like it's at least twice a month. I have to
- 31:15Speaker 3: be gone. I have to or I'm not gonna be okay.
- 31:18Speaker 9: Man, I missed those days before I did radio full time.
- 31:22Speaker 3: That's why I want to do radio.
- 31:23Speaker 9: When I tell you he no, I used to, I
- 31:27Speaker 9: mean having to stay on him, bro, I like, immediately
- 31:31Speaker 9: look in my flight I'm leaving.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I called him at least two three times a bro,
- 31:35Speaker 1: don't forget we got this, because then we gotta do this,
- 31:38Speaker 1: after this, this, after that.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 5: I do feel you though, like Atlanta do kind of
- 31:44Speaker 5: get like low vibrations.
- 31:45Speaker 4: It's it's sad to say, because I really this city
- 31:48Speaker 4: like made me who I am, even though I'm, you know,
- 31:50Speaker 4: born in New York, but it's changed.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I don't know what it is. If it's like the
- 31:53Speaker 3: like I am from out of time. I don't know.
- 31:54Speaker 3: After COVID, I don't know what's different, but it's just.
- 31:56Speaker 1: It, don't I want to say, after COVID to me,
- 31:58Speaker 1: I don't feel right. It was definitely a shift. I
- 32:01Speaker 1: didn't like the shift, but I also would say, like
- 32:05Speaker 1: everything is like about everything seems transactional. And when everything's transactional,
- 32:09Speaker 1: you got remember I've been here since two thousand and nine.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Sous I graduated college. I went to grad school, dropped out.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I told my parents I was gonna be on the radio.
- 32:17Speaker 1: They was like, what I'm gonna show you? So I
- 32:19Speaker 1: moved up here and it was just so open and
- 32:22Speaker 1: friendly and helpful. And I want to say after I
- 32:28Speaker 1: want to say the shift that I saw and personalities
- 32:31Speaker 1: and everything being so transactional, it was twenty twenty one. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: I don't know what happened, but in twenty twenty one
- 32:38Speaker 1: everything became so transactional. The big clubs are no longer.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Everything's restaurants. And what can you do in a restaurant?
- 32:46Speaker 2: Bro? Well, I think I think the economy.
- 32:48Speaker 7: I felt like, y'all, man, I don't really I feel
- 32:51Speaker 7: like we was having this conversation went away here, like
- 32:53Speaker 7: I'm from up north, I'm from Philly. Like I feel
- 32:55Speaker 7: like this is peaceful, Like I feel like you could
- 32:58Speaker 7: get involved with what you want to get involved, or
- 33:00Speaker 7: you could just be out the way like I be out.
- 33:02Speaker 1: See that's the thing. I'm out the way. But I
- 33:04Speaker 1: never used to be out.
- 33:05Speaker 2: So you're coming from Philly. Yeah, so I've been to Philly.
- 33:08Speaker 1: It's peaceful here com Philly. Philly is very like assion.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Philly is really aggressed.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I would like to say with my camera, I would
- 33:16Speaker 1: like to say Philly is a lot more aggressive than
- 33:18Speaker 1: New York.
- 33:18Speaker 4: It is.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I'm just saying, no, I've never.
- 33:22Speaker 9: Seen when Philly don't even talk to each other like
- 33:26Speaker 9: I'm talking about it is like you see a whole
- 33:29Speaker 9: bunch of people talk to you New York, bro.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Won't We're gonna walk past our cousin.
- 33:34Speaker 1: They may look at you though, Philly mother to be
- 33:36Speaker 1: like I'm over here, like yeah, it's scary.
- 33:40Speaker 9: Like even when you go to restaurants like I wouldn't
- 33:42Speaker 9: have I would to Philly when I did usher.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Tour and I was like, man, I'm in Philly.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I would have get a Philly tees.
- 33:47Speaker 9: Second, I went to a restaurant and it's like the
- 33:48Speaker 9: quietest restaurant I've ever been in.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Like nobody's talking.
- 33:52Speaker 8: It's like here.
- 33:54Speaker 7: Whatever, it's like, excuse me sorry, it's like back home.
- 33:56Speaker 7: You ain't like Leo, where the you going?
- 33:58Speaker 8: Like yourself?
- 33:59Speaker 7: Like you know what I feel? That's what I feel like.
- 34:01Speaker 7: It's so peaceful down here. If you don't want to
- 34:04Speaker 7: get involved with the bullshit, you don't have to. You
- 34:06Speaker 7: could be in your space wherever you like.
- 34:08Speaker 1: That's a good way to look at it, though, So
- 34:09Speaker 1: I don't.
- 34:10Speaker 7: I don't feel like that. I don't feel like i'd
- 34:12Speaker 7: be needing a break or like one of that.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Now I'll be feeling like Also, like the economy got people.
- 34:18Speaker 9: You know, a lot of people that were making a
- 34:19Speaker 9: lot of money before the pandemic they not making that money.
- 34:22Speaker 2: So it's like it's almost like when you talk angry,
- 34:25Speaker 2: they are angry.
- 34:26Speaker 9: And it's like when you talk to somebody, you're right right,
- 34:28Speaker 9: it's all transaction. It's like, how can I make money
- 34:31Speaker 9: off you? It's not even like you know, I used
- 34:33Speaker 9: to get calls, people checking up on me, people seeing like,
- 34:35Speaker 9: oh man, I ain't seeing you out like where you being?
- 34:38Speaker 2: I don't hear from none of these folks know.
- 34:40Speaker 1: To try and borrow some money from me. That she's
- 34:42Speaker 1: crazy a couple, y'all need me some money. But Penny Lane,

- 35:51Speaker 4: We was going crazy all summer. But I don't know,
- 35:54Speaker 4: I'm everywhere, you know what I'm saying, So I do
- 35:57Speaker 4: a lot of different things to just follow me and
- 35:59Speaker 4: just you know, keep up with the stuff I got
- 36:00Speaker 4: going on. But I'm really you know, right now it
- 36:02Speaker 4: is the first quarter, I'm kind of like, you know,
- 36:03Speaker 4: laying load, getting my up. You gotta know, you gotta
- 36:06Speaker 4: know when to chills, so you know, just taking care
- 36:08Speaker 4: of me right now.
- 36:09Speaker 3: But you know, stay tuned.
- 36:11Speaker 8: Oh yeah, my bad, I mean to cut you off.
- 36:13Speaker 7: I DJ on I heard ninety six point one Today's
- 36:17Speaker 7: five o'clock. Jack and has just put out their eleventh
- 36:20Speaker 7: studio albums. So we're about to go on a crazy
- 36:22Speaker 7: tour starting next month. So you can check us out,
- 36:25Speaker 7: check me out.
- 36:26Speaker 2: The album's fired to by the way.
- 36:28Speaker 8: I mean, look, I'm like, you know what I'm saying.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Appreciate it all right, man, Hey man, another great episode.
- 36:36Speaker 1: We appreciate you ladies. We gotta definitely do a part
- 36:38Speaker 1: two in front of a live audience. Yeah, so we
- 36:43Speaker 1: get some Q and A from the audience.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I appreciate.
- 36:44Speaker 4: I feel like we needed a couple more questions of
- 36:47Speaker 4: Like I felt like we need some more questions.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Wait, that's what I said.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I said, Hey, is it something y'all want to get
- 36:54Speaker 1: on chair? What you want to do?
- 36:57Speaker 4: Like, because a lot of times they be trying to
- 37:00Speaker 4: be like with being a female DJ, like they they
- 37:02Speaker 4: want us to judge others and how they present themselves
- 37:05Speaker 4: or is that.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Too what's too sexy? What's okay? What's appropriate?
- 37:09Speaker 4: What's you know what I'm saying, Like they be on
- 37:10Speaker 4: that type of shit and it's just like why do
- 37:12Speaker 4: we go? It's people in general, like they feel like
- 37:15Speaker 4: it's it's like a fine line that you can cross
- 37:17Speaker 4: or you can't cross.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Or you know, talking about when you come in dress.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yeah, period as a female DJ, like what's too far?
- 37:22Speaker 3: What's okay? What's okay?
- 37:24Speaker 1: So let me let me let me position this. Then
- 37:27Speaker 1: when you guys are dressing for a gig, do you
- 37:31Speaker 1: guys get judged based off of what you wear to
- 37:34Speaker 1: the club or to a gig?
- 37:36Speaker 4: Or they probably feel like certain girls have gotten certain
- 37:39Speaker 4: opportunities because they are more willing to be more sexual,
- 37:42Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, versus caring about the skill
- 37:45Speaker 4: you feel me like stuff like that.
- 37:46Speaker 5: So it's like we can't come to the club with
- 37:48Speaker 5: a Nike take on.
- 37:52Speaker 7: Like I even even to the point where like like
- 37:55Speaker 7: I mean I dressed down, like I'm not wearing shoes
- 37:57Speaker 7: to the club nor or I did that like when
- 37:59Speaker 7: I was first coming up, and do you know that
- 38:00Speaker 7: I did all the shoes.
- 38:01Speaker 8: Then it got to the point where I want to
- 38:02Speaker 8: be comfortable. But then when I go to my shoulds
- 38:04Speaker 8: and I can put this shit on, like I'm so,
- 38:07Speaker 8: I do.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Feel like do you guys DJ and heels?
- 38:10Speaker 6: Yeah, it depends to stand up for mad long.
- 38:14Speaker 1: That's a three hour shift potentially four next day. So
- 38:22Speaker 1: what's a comfortable, appealing shoe that you guys will wear
- 38:27Speaker 1: outside of a sneaker?
- 38:28Speaker 4: I mean, if I'm gonna put a love on, if
- 38:29Speaker 4: I'm gonna put a live on, I mean you if
- 38:31Speaker 4: I'm behind the boot, who's gonna see that?
- 38:33Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. Long as you walk, you
- 38:35Speaker 3: know what I'm saying.
- 38:35Speaker 4: The right way, we know how to fix it up
- 38:37Speaker 4: and make it look nice, but you know, it just
- 38:40Speaker 4: be a lot I hear a lot of that combo
- 38:41Speaker 4: about like well look at this or this person, she
- 38:44Speaker 4: ain't got no clothes on.
- 38:45Speaker 1: And I feel like and that's a promoter or somebody else,
- 38:48Speaker 1: other DJs.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Or just people, your mentors, just anything.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Well people try to tell y'all how to dress.
- 38:53Speaker 3: It not even tell you how to how to promote
- 38:56Speaker 3: your brand.
- 38:56Speaker 4: It's a certain way to like present yourself or just
- 38:59Speaker 4: be careful certain things so you don't get certain type
- 39:02Speaker 4: of attention in a way, it's like very it's a
- 39:04Speaker 4: conversation that pretty much even if.
- 39:06Speaker 6: You want it to be sexy, it's like you you know,
- 39:09Speaker 6: like you'll have to deal with the drunk men come
- 39:11Speaker 6: into the DJ.
- 39:12Speaker 9: Like and and I and I wish that like most
- 39:15Speaker 9: clubs would do, like a shout out to stats in
- 39:18Speaker 9: in Charlotte. Uh, when I go host there, nobody's even
- 39:23Speaker 9: allowed to get into the DJ. But when they got security,
- 39:25Speaker 9: like right there, you not nobody a boy to come
- 39:27Speaker 9: and request no songs.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Nobody come.
- 39:29Speaker 9: It ain't nothing. You see some what's up? But like
- 39:33Speaker 9: they security don't play, they not nobody's getting on stage.
- 39:35Speaker 9: And I wish a lot of other clubs did that too,
- 39:37Speaker 9: to where you know security is protecting the DJ because
- 39:41Speaker 9: in a sense of the music go out, it's like
- 39:42Speaker 9: life's going out. So it's like you should be wanting
- 39:45Speaker 9: to protect that energy space anyways, because I don't want
- 39:48Speaker 9: nobody just coming up to the DJ moove like, hey,
- 39:51Speaker 9: can you man get out my.
- 39:53Speaker 8: Face when it comes.
- 39:54Speaker 6: I like with women if you do, like Mick are weird,
- 39:57Speaker 6: so like you could kind of just yo what I'm saying,
- 40:01Speaker 6: Like you could dismiss a man and he'll like literally
- 40:03Speaker 6: hold that grudge.
- 40:04Speaker 1: And like I was gonna ask you this, do you gouty?
- 40:09Speaker 1: Does Valet allow you guys to park up front?
- 40:12Speaker 4: I usually always Valet, They just take my car and
- 40:13Speaker 4: then somebody always walk me out. But it's like it's
- 40:17Speaker 4: every Thursday I had to bring to security attention. This
- 40:20Speaker 4: is one guy that I watches him. I watch this nigga, Yo,
- 40:22Speaker 4: he's like so weird. It's a time I went up
- 40:25Speaker 4: to the bathroom, like not even the main bathroom, went
- 40:27Speaker 4: upstairs and then by something in my spirit was like, yo,
- 40:29Speaker 4: like what if this nigga standing by the door? I
- 40:31Speaker 4: come out, the dude like walking right behind me. I'm like, yo,
- 40:34Speaker 4: if this nigga look at me one more time, like
- 40:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna get fired because I'll fight him.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I don't care about that, you know what I'm saying.
- 40:40Speaker 4: But I'm telling y'all to watch him, you know what
- 40:42Speaker 4: I'm saying, because he's very he's weird. I can go
- 40:44Speaker 4: out to my car. One time, he like knocked on
- 40:45Speaker 4: the door, like yo, this dude, Like I don't feel
- 40:48Speaker 4: like he should be here. But there's been times that
- 40:49Speaker 4: I had, like guys that cannot come if I'm in there.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Not saying you banned from the club, but if I'm working,
- 40:55Speaker 4: you can't come in there.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I've never correct me if I'm wrong. I've never really
- 40:58Speaker 1: seen you guys come to clubs by yourself. Correct I
- 41:01Speaker 1: come to the I'm gonna just.
- 41:02Speaker 8: Say no myself, don't.
- 41:04Speaker 9: Oh well right, I've seen you guys with people sometimes
- 41:09Speaker 9: to day people if you come by yourself, are you
- 41:11Speaker 9: getting escorted out to your car?
- 41:15Speaker 8: They always have always get the park.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I never paid attention to that. And I've been rocking
- 41:19Speaker 1: with y'all for a minute.
- 41:20Speaker 7: And then the other part. I know we talked a
- 41:22Speaker 7: lot about like the male and the female, like DJ's
- 41:27Speaker 7: et cetera, et cetera. But it'd be a lot of
- 41:28Speaker 7: jealousy within the female DJs too, like what you wear,
- 41:32Speaker 7: what you're dressing, girl tating on you because of your
- 41:35Speaker 7: opportunities or whatever whatever. Girls fake acting like they like you,
- 41:39Speaker 7: they don't really fuck with you. Like all type of
- 41:40Speaker 7: talking shit behind your back. All that should be going
- 41:42Speaker 7: on too, So it don't be just with the biggas.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Okay, how do y'all?
- 41:45Speaker 2: How do y'all maneuver through that?
- 41:48Speaker 7: Me personally, I've got on blonders, Like I don't feel
- 41:50Speaker 7: like none of them, none of these people is my competition.
- 41:53Speaker 8: Like, I got blonders on this what I want.
- 41:55Speaker 7: I can't DJ every party, I can't be on every station,
- 41:57Speaker 7: I can't be at every event. I just got blonder
- 42:00Speaker 7: a sept my goals, and I go ahead. I don't
- 42:01Speaker 7: be worrying about what nobody else doing, what they got
- 42:04Speaker 7: going on, with they wearing like none of that shit.
- 42:06Speaker 7: I literally just keep my blinders on, And I feel
- 42:08Speaker 7: like that's how I've even been able to just accomplish
- 42:11Speaker 7: all my goals and do everything that I wanted to do.
- 42:13Speaker 5: You feel me, and I just learned I just don't
- 42:15Speaker 5: take it personal. This industry. You can't take nothing, and the.
- 42:19Speaker 9: People that's booking you don't care, Like like, I don't
- 42:22Speaker 9: get why people don't understand that. It's like when somebody
- 42:25Speaker 9: go and hates on somebody, because I feel like that
- 42:29Speaker 9: happens often, you know what I'm saying, Because you you
- 42:31Speaker 9: might go to a club and you might body the
- 42:33Speaker 9: club right then there might be some people over there
- 42:36Speaker 9: just watching you body the club and you never get.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Booked again, and you like.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Shit behind the scenes.
- 42:43Speaker 9: But then but then you thinking, I remember it was
- 42:46Speaker 9: such and such that was watching me the whole time,
- 42:49Speaker 9: So you know, you.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Just never know who it probably undercutted you or something.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Not even that.
- 42:53Speaker 9: I just I just feel like we had we had
- 42:56Speaker 9: we got one of our young bulls.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Uh he was. He was telling us.
- 42:59Speaker 9: He was like, man, somebody said I wasn't good and
- 43:04Speaker 9: I was doing this party and he was the way
- 43:08Speaker 9: he was explaining to us. We so seasoned were like, oh,
- 43:10Speaker 9: we already know who got you out the way.
- 43:13Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I never forget I was doing. I was closing at
- 43:18Speaker 1: this club for about three months and I always got
- 43:21Speaker 1: my money. It was cool, negotiated, it was good. Feet too.
- 43:24Speaker 1: So one time the promoter had to get he went
- 43:26Speaker 1: and got my money for me. He was like how
- 43:27Speaker 1: much you get? I was like, yeah, I get this amount.
- 43:30Speaker 1: He was like, no, you don't. I was like, yes,
- 43:33Speaker 1: I do. I screenshot the text for me and OG
- 43:36Speaker 1: sent it to him. He was like, wow, did y'all
- 43:38Speaker 1: know that I stopped working there the following week? Whoa
- 43:42Speaker 1: true story?
- 43:43Speaker 9: That's true study hosting and and nobody, nobody like the person,
- 43:48Speaker 9: the person that had nothing to do with him getting paid.
- 43:51Speaker 9: The promoter had nothing to do with him receiving his money.
- 43:54Speaker 9: His deal was going through the owner.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I always negotiated my deals with owners. I never necessarily
- 43:59Speaker 1: did a promoter. If I did a promoter, me and
- 44:00Speaker 1: you have a relationship much. But that's what I negotiate
- 44:07Speaker 1: with owners. I always talk to owners. That's just who
- 44:09Speaker 1: I always dealt with. So if it's a promoter thing
- 44:13Speaker 1: that I do something with, that's my homeboy. Or I
- 44:16Speaker 1: funk with you and you know you're gonna pay me
- 44:18Speaker 1: before I get there type ship. So if I do,
- 44:22Speaker 1: or if it's like a favor and the owners paying
- 44:26Speaker 1: me from his directly, I'm not getting no money from nothing.
- 44:31Speaker 1: That has anything to do with anything. And I have
- 44:33Speaker 1: really good, long standing relationships with owners too, like this
- 44:37Speaker 1: this is my potma motherfucker's at my wedding type ship.
- 44:40Speaker 1: So nigga, you don't nigga, I can get you fired
- 44:43Speaker 1: if I want to, but it don't be that. It
- 44:45Speaker 1: won't be that deep.
- 44:46Speaker 2: But he put on a game about that life like
- 44:49Speaker 2: years ago.
- 44:49Speaker 9: He was like, hey, he said, I know you rock
- 44:51Speaker 9: with a lot of these promoters, but he was like,
- 44:53Speaker 9: start getting started building a relationship with these owners because
- 44:55Speaker 9: you're gonna start getting paid more.
- 44:56Speaker 2: And I start.
- 44:57Speaker 9: I started doing that, and I remember like one of
- 45:00Speaker 9: my one of my DJ potterers, he was like, man,
- 45:02Speaker 9: you know this person was saying something about you to
- 45:05Speaker 9: the to like one of the promoters, and he was like,
- 45:08Speaker 9: but I said, hey, man, that they gonna fire you
- 45:11Speaker 9: before they try to get rid of BT, because BT
- 45:13Speaker 9: got a relationship with plus owner.
- 45:14Speaker 6: Plus the promoter ended up like the party ended up
- 45:17Speaker 6: like dying down.
- 45:18Speaker 5: The probably would keep you.
- 45:20Speaker 9: He gonna keep you, and he gonna add new promoters
- 45:22Speaker 9: on to the party. So it's it's like it's more
- 45:24Speaker 9: like building yourself up for longevity.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Really good promoters there are some very good, good business
- 45:31Speaker 1: promoters out there shout out to y'all talking about y'all
- 45:34Speaker 1: talking about the one very.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Few though very few.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Like piggyback off of the jealousy comment like that come
- 45:44Speaker 4: with the territory, like you should expect any of that
- 45:47Speaker 4: type of stuff, and like just keep it moving, like
- 45:50Speaker 4: that's that stuff you welcome.
- 45:51Speaker 3: It's cool.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Ain't no big deal, like longest, like nothing, none of
- 45:54Speaker 4: that should bother anybody, honestly, at the end of the day.
- 45:57Speaker 4: It's people that's like celebrities like Beyonce, people got shipped
- 46:00Speaker 4: say about her. You know what I'm saying, like it
- 46:01Speaker 4: come with it, like it just is what it is.
- 46:03Speaker 4: So it's definitely not nothing to even worry about or
- 46:05Speaker 4: lose sleep or none of that. Ship Like as long
- 46:06Speaker 4: as we respectful, like, ain't no big deal.
- 46:09Speaker 9: And I tell people were stronger together, right, Like if
- 46:12Speaker 9: y'all three ladies, if somebody's trying to book y'all, y'all say, man,
- 46:15Speaker 9: we all set our price at this.
- 46:17Speaker 2: The mic can't hear it. We all set our price
- 46:22Speaker 2: at this.
- 46:22Speaker 9: So now when they try to call you to undercut
- 46:24Speaker 9: this person, they're gonna be like, damn like what this
- 46:28Speaker 9: what the bar said, And I feel like that's the issue,
- 46:31Speaker 9: Like that the problem because we had, you know, the guys,
- 46:35Speaker 9: they came on the show and they was, you know,
- 46:37Speaker 9: frustrated about the pay and stuff like that of what
- 46:39Speaker 9: they get for closing. And in reality, if this DJ,
- 46:45Speaker 9: if everybody's like, yo, this is our price.
- 46:47Speaker 2: This is minimal, you know what I'm saying. Now, everybody's
- 46:49Speaker 2: gonna be at the same level.
- 46:50Speaker 9: Some people are gonna be here, some people like this
- 46:52Speaker 9: the minimum it would be a bar set tough, like
- 46:55Speaker 9: this is what you gotta pay.
- 46:56Speaker 6: But you got to think about the DJs who don't
- 46:58Speaker 6: DJ a lot, that practice all day, who want to
- 47:02Speaker 6: be in those.
- 47:04Speaker 4: And everybody not in the same place in their career
- 47:06Speaker 4: for that or money wise, lifestyle wise or whatever. So
- 47:09Speaker 4: a five hundred might be seemed good to me, but
- 47:12Speaker 4: somebody else might need a stack. Like It's just everybody
- 47:14Speaker 4: is in different places, so we can't necessarily do that.
- 47:17Speaker 4: And then of course we're in a market in Atlanta
- 47:19Speaker 4: where people just they don't give a fuck, they just
- 47:21Speaker 4: want to DJ.
- 47:21Speaker 1: In Future might walk in and I hit the DJ when.
- 47:27Speaker 3: We don't care.
- 47:27Speaker 4: We see future walking down the street, like they're not
- 47:30Speaker 4: celebrities to us here are not celebrities to come.
- 47:33Speaker 5: To see little baby baby at the taco spot.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Right and you're not even tripping it, like not even
- 47:39Speaker 3: pulling your phone out.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Again, you guys are very season veteran DJs. The young
- 47:46Speaker 1: ones be taking down their pennies to no penitenden to DJ.
- 47:52Speaker 1: And again that's what That's why I'm telling you, Like
- 47:55Speaker 1: I just I appreciate you guys pulling up. I would
- 47:57Speaker 1: love to do a Part two in front of a
- 47:59Speaker 1: live round.
- 48:00Speaker 9: Yes, yeah, that would be dope. Yah yo, you know
- 48:03Speaker 9: what would be really dope. And this is just an
- 48:04Speaker 9: idea that I have, Like if we have the male
- 48:08Speaker 9: DJs the female DJs, then we do a Q and A.
- 48:11Speaker 1: That's fine, you know because we because I have this experience,
- 48:15Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Everybody expand this because I
- 48:17Speaker 1: think the conversation never really happened to the level word
- 48:20Speaker 1: involves everybody's comments and thoughts and concerns. Because we did
- 48:23Speaker 1: a promoter episode.
- 48:24Speaker 2: We need to put the promoters in the crowd. And
- 48:27Speaker 2: if DJ is on state, look, why are you so cheap?
- 48:31Speaker 2: We are?
- 48:33Speaker 1: We aren't going to get to the bottom of this
- 48:34Speaker 1: Valet ship. Oh yeah, we definitely got to have a
- 48:37Speaker 1: Valet episode with some Valet guys because Valet Valet. I'm
- 48:40Speaker 1: going to cut their ass out. They be fucking up
- 48:43Speaker 1: people cars, They be charging one hundred dollars on the
- 48:46Speaker 1: bro Come.
- 48:47Speaker 2: On, everybody, know this is only two people.
- 48:53Speaker 9: I first, I used to didn't like securities, like at
- 48:56Speaker 9: the clubs, because I would just feel like security just
- 48:57Speaker 9: be super aggressive. And then when a nigga walking club
- 49:00Speaker 9: with a tattoo on his face, they ain't checking him,
- 49:02Speaker 9: you know what I'm saying.
- 49:05Speaker 5: But I do want to do the live audience though,
- 49:07Speaker 5: I feel like we should collapse.
- 49:09Speaker 1: So we're gonna were gonna figure it out. I got you.
- 49:11Speaker 2: We're doing something.
- 49:11Speaker 1: We're doing something Revolt, which we may be able to
- 49:14Speaker 1: do it at Revolt and have a live audience there too,
- 49:17Speaker 1: so you know, but if we do it at Petlines,
- 49:19Speaker 1: but that might be cool too, if it has some
- 49:21Speaker 1: space for a crowd, I'm okay cool.
- 49:24Speaker 4: I appreciate y'all, ladies, thanks for having us
