- 0:00Speaker 2: From the Star Rentals Sports Tests your ninety three point
- 0:03Speaker 2: three JJRFM sports headlines.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Good morning, Happy Friday. From the sidelines of the joint
- 0:10Speaker 3: practice between the Seahawks and Titans here in Nashville, Greg
- 0:13Speaker 3: Bell and News Tribune headlines have brought to you by
- 0:14Speaker 3: Frost Fruit Cords. I choose chill in this joint practice.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It's still going on. Wide receiver Jake Bobo carted off
- 0:22Speaker 3: with a really bad looking leg injury. He was no evacuate.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Cart was not happy, had a very very frustrated demeanor
- 0:30Speaker 3: about him as he came off the field. He was
- 0:32Speaker 3: going up for a pass in coverage against the Titans linebacker,
- 0:35Speaker 3: landed awkwardly on the knee on the sideline and went
- 0:39Speaker 3: straight onto the cart and out of the practice. No,
- 0:42Speaker 3: that doesn't look good. Just Abe Lucas right tackle also
- 0:46Speaker 3: left during practice to go inside into the practice or
- 0:49Speaker 3: to the training room, and Josh Jones is now the
- 0:53Speaker 3: right tackle as they're doing eleven on eleven So the Tuesday.
- 0:56Speaker 3: The one thing you do not want in these joint
- 0:58Speaker 3: practices the Seahawks have got and that's an injury and
- 1:00Speaker 3: it looks like a potentially serious one for Jake Bobo.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Try to learn more about that as we go. Trayvon
- 1:06Speaker 3: Diggs is on the field. He's wearing number sixteen. I
- 1:09Speaker 3: don't see him doing anything in team drills or even
- 1:12Speaker 3: seven on seven, but he is practicing since he signed
- 1:15Speaker 3: two days ago, the former All Pro quarnerback from the
- 1:18Speaker 3: Dallas Cowboys. Lots more here from Tennessee, including Jaron Reed.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Right after practice at about eleven o'clock, the Mariners are
- 1:25Speaker 3: back home three games series with the Cubs at the
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yard and Soto. After a seven to fourth series ending
- 1:29Speaker 3: lost to Milwaukee, they lost the series to the Brewers
- 1:32Speaker 3: two games to one. George Kirby allowed six runs in
- 1:35Speaker 3: the first inning and then hand is it ahead? Into
- 1:37Speaker 3: this thing again? The Mariners are so in love. With
- 1:39Speaker 3: two on, one out six four in the eighth, Manager
- 1:42Speaker 3: Dan Wilson takes out sparklover plug Rookie brock roadin pinch
- 1:46Speaker 3: hits the rodden in pinch hits them with West and Wilson,
- 1:49Speaker 3: who of course struck out trash Cans loss of Seattle,
- 1:52Speaker 3: still four behind Houston for first place in the AL West.
- 1:55Speaker 3: The Ams are three games out of the wild card
- 1:57Speaker 3: race thirty four games remain. Tonight it's Emerson hancocking them
- 2:00Speaker 3: out against Seattle native Matthew Boyd for the Cubs, who
- 2:03Speaker 3: I think are throwing three straight lefties at him. Then
- 2:06Speaker 3: tomorrow the long awaited, the major league debut of the
- 2:10Speaker 3: top minor league pitching prospect in all of baseball, Twenty
- 2:13Speaker 3: two year old Kate Anderson is getting called up from
- 2:15Speaker 3: Double A Arkansas to pitch for the Mariners tomorrow night
- 2:18Speaker 3: against the Cubs, and number three overall picked in last
- 2:20Speaker 3: year's draft, Brian will gets pushed back a day to
- 2:23Speaker 3: start in Sunday series finale, And I know what you're saying,
- 2:26Speaker 3: it might be like two months too late to bring
- 2:28Speaker 3: Kate Anderson up sunders down a club record eight game
- 2:31Speaker 3: MLS losing streak or at Cincinnati tomorrow four PM pregame
- 2:34Speaker 3: show with Jackson Feltz in a five to thirty match
- 2:36Speaker 3: time here right live on ninety three point three KJR
- 2:39Speaker 3: The Stormer at the Dallas Wings Sunday in a WNBA
- 2:42Speaker 3: gamest one PM on Sunday. Las Vegas Raiders coach Clint
- 2:46Speaker 3: Kubiak remember him, He's not ready to name a starting
- 2:49Speaker 3: quarterback for the regular season for the Raiders. He sat
- 2:51Speaker 3: veteran Kirk Cousins last night and had rookie number one
- 2:53Speaker 3: overall pick fernandom Men Doza start their twenty two to
- 2:56Speaker 3: twenty win over the Houston Texans. This is what Kobek
- 3:00Speaker 3: said after game quote, I don't want anyone to be
- 3:02Speaker 3: comfortable in their job. Cousins has played just one drive
- 3:05Speaker 3: into preseasons. Game Now on with the Friday Show from
- 3:08Speaker 3: Music City, Nashville, the Seahawks and the Titans joint practice.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Greg bow here in Nashville, Jessman McIntyre Beck in our
- 3:14Speaker 3: early base studios in downtown See always.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Tell us of where you are. Greg, Good morning and afternoon.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Good morning, thank you. Yes, not a good morning for
- 3:24Speaker 3: Jake Bobo and fan favorite, a favorite in the locker room,
- 3:28Speaker 3: special team's mainstay wide receiver going on his fourth year.
- 3:31Speaker 3: The undrafted former undrafted rookie from UCLA and duke who
- 3:35Speaker 3: forged his own way onto this team and into an
- 3:37Speaker 3: NFL career, got a new two year contract just this
- 3:40Speaker 3: offseason that the Seahawks match from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Well,
- 3:44Speaker 3: Jake Bobo carted off today with an apparent leg maybe
- 3:47Speaker 3: knee injury. I don't want to suppose too much. But
- 3:50Speaker 3: I'm just telling you the body language on Jake Bobo
- 3:53Speaker 3: and the tenor of the practice was that was a
- 3:55Speaker 3: serious injury. Got carted out. Both teams went on a
- 3:57Speaker 3: knee as the cart came on the field. He was
- 4:00Speaker 3: jumping onto the on the sidelines. Along the sidelines the
- 4:03Speaker 3: Tennessee Titans linebacker right under him. Football play. Nothing malicious
- 4:07Speaker 3: or anything. Both went up for the ball, and it
- 4:09Speaker 3: can happen.
- 4:10Speaker 5: It can happen anytime.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. The one thing you do not want in
- 4:14Speaker 3: these situations is an injury like that, and they got one.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It looks like with Jake Bobo, Abe Lucas is starting
- 4:21Speaker 3: right tackle left He was walking off as though it
- 4:23Speaker 3: might have been an upper body injury. He went into
- 4:26Speaker 3: the locker room here in Nashville about ten fifteen minutes
- 4:30Speaker 3: after Bobo got carted off, and I see Josh Jones
- 4:33Speaker 3: in a right tackle in the starting offense now instead
- 4:36Speaker 3: of Abe Lucas, who I don't see returning to the field.
- 4:38Speaker 3: So two injuries for the Seahawks.
- 4:40Speaker 5: My two favorite people on the team.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Yeah the kug and I know you Jake Bobo. Your
- 4:45Speaker 3: nephews get hooked up by Jake Bobo.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Well, my nephew's name is Bo b Oh, and yes,
- 4:50Speaker 4: you know, he has sent videos to him in the
- 4:52Speaker 4: past and stuff, just because it was always just a
- 4:55Speaker 4: fun thing that we had that his name was Bo.
- 5:00Speaker 4: We want always wanted the Bobo jersey for him, and
- 5:03Speaker 4: so those weren't readily available at the time, but he
- 5:09Speaker 4: would send some videos. I would record them and send
- 5:12Speaker 4: them to my nephew and he loved them, and he's
- 5:14Speaker 4: so nice and kind.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Jake Bobo was my guest here the last time they
- 5:19Speaker 3: had a joint practice two summers ago, right off the
- 5:21Speaker 3: field after the to practices two years ago. The joint
- 5:24Speaker 3: practice here looks like he could be out a little
- 5:27Speaker 3: while or long while. It's it's cold to talk about,
- 5:30Speaker 3: but in the next man up mentality the NFL, Jake
- 5:33Speaker 3: Bobo's injury may clear the roster spot for Monterey Foster
- 5:37Speaker 3: Junior to make the team. We were talking about how
- 5:39Speaker 3: impressive the wide receiver from Michigan State in Lakewood, San
- 5:42Speaker 3: Edwards High School outside Cleveland has been and just every
- 5:45Speaker 3: day making plays and now he's playing with the ones,
- 5:48Speaker 3: including out some out here. Today. Well, I was we
- 5:52Speaker 3: were talking about whose job. Is he going to take?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Whose roster spot? He's going to take a fifth to
- 5:55Speaker 3: six wide receiver. But now Jake Bobo's injury, if it
- 5:58Speaker 3: is as serious as it appeared, he got carted off
- 6:00Speaker 3: the field here in Nashville this morning, that may be
- 6:03Speaker 3: the roster spot that Montory Foster takes to make the
- 6:06Speaker 3: fifty three. I'll talk later in the show about everything
- 6:08Speaker 3: I've seen so far today at this practice. It is
- 6:11Speaker 3: not cool here in Nashville. It is smoking hot.
- 6:15Speaker 5: And did you knew what you were getting into?
- 6:17Speaker 3: Oh? Yeah, we've been here. I've been here in August.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It's not cold in Nashville. I'm humid. I'll talk to
- 6:23Speaker 3: you about what I've seen at ten twenty five. You'll
- 6:26Speaker 3: hear from Montory Foster. We had him on the show
- 6:28Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago before his star turned to
- 6:31Speaker 3: where now he's a Hard Knocks national TV celebrity for
- 6:34Speaker 3: being the star of Camp. And you'll hear him talk
- 6:36Speaker 3: about what he was doing during last Seahawks season while
- 6:39Speaker 3: the Seahawks were marching to the NFC West title. Montory
- 6:42Speaker 3: Foster was a cut Seahawks in August and in September
- 6:45Speaker 3: was a substitute teacher, teaching Latin to freshman and junior
- 6:49Speaker 3: kids at Lakewood Saint Edward High School, his alma mater,
- 6:52Speaker 3: just west of Cleveland. He got his real estate license.
- 6:54Speaker 3: He bumped into some schmoe at a gym, I mean
- 6:57Speaker 3: just like twenty four hour Fitness Planet fitness gym, who said, Hey,
- 7:00Speaker 3: I heard you were in an NFL camp this summer.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I used to be a high school quarterback. I can
- 7:03Speaker 3: throw to you, and Montoy Foster looked at like, what
- 7:06Speaker 3: are you talking about? You know what I.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Love about that is that they both just wanted to play.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Like kids in a playground. So yes, exactly just and
- 7:15Speaker 3: then this guy has ended up being Jake Hayner. He's
- 7:19Speaker 3: a quarterback in the Lake the Mayfield area in Mayfield
- 7:23Speaker 3: Village area of Cleveland, and he became his personal quarterback
- 7:27Speaker 3: all last season and kept Foster sharp for when sure enough,
- 7:30Speaker 3: the Seahawks called at the end of December offered him
- 7:33Speaker 3: a practice squad spot. He was on the practice squad
- 7:35Speaker 3: through the end of last season, including was at the
- 7:37Speaker 3: Super Bowl. Then assignment to a futures contract, which means
- 7:40Speaker 3: you get to do offseason and then the preseason practices
- 7:43Speaker 3: on the ninety man and that's where Foster has made
- 7:45Speaker 3: his star turn to now it looks like being one
- 7:48Speaker 3: of the surprise ads to this fifty three man roster
- 7:50Speaker 3: of the Super Bowl Champions, especially in the way at
- 7:53Speaker 3: Jake Bobo's serious looking injury getting carted off today here
- 7:56Speaker 3: in Nashville. So ten twenty five year here from Montory Foster,
- 7:59Speaker 3: ten forty five year old coach Mike McDonald, about his
- 8:02Speaker 3: summation of camp so far, about his new offensive coordinator,
- 8:05Speaker 3: Brian Flurry, who's on the field here in Nashville in
- 8:09Speaker 3: front of me, calling plays with his walkie talkie into
- 8:11Speaker 3: the quarterbacks headsets ten forty five. You'll hear from the
- 8:14Speaker 3: head coach, Mike McDonald at eleven o'clock. We'll talk live
- 8:16Speaker 3: here in Nashville, expecting to get Jaron Reid as he
- 8:19Speaker 3: walks off the field, the veterans starting defensive tackle, one
- 8:22Speaker 3: of the sole guys of the locker room, talk to
- 8:24Speaker 3: us about what he got out of today's practice and
- 8:27Speaker 3: what he gets in general today's pat and who he's
- 8:29Speaker 3: looking forward to at the Rookie Talent Show at a
- 8:31Speaker 3: barbecue joint in downtown Nashville. Tonight. That's the highlight of
- 8:34Speaker 3: the trip from any of these guys.
- 8:35Speaker 5: I mean, if you're gonna do it right, they didn't.
- 8:39Speaker 5: They are doing it right.
- 8:41Speaker 3: There's a chance for rookies to make a name for
- 8:42Speaker 3: themselves tonight at the barbecue spot in downtown Nashville'll talk
- 8:46Speaker 3: to Jared Reid as he comes off the field shortly
- 8:47Speaker 3: after eleven o'clock eleven thirty year text talkbacks go to
- 8:50Speaker 3: the iHeartRadio app or website ninety three kjar dot com.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Jessman loves herself some cockbacks.
- 8:56Speaker 5: I do am very selfish.
- 8:58Speaker 3: The red microphone button at the top of those pages
- 9:00Speaker 3: on the website or on the iheartradiot nine to three KJR,
- 9:03Speaker 3: and you leave a thirty second or shorter voicemail and
- 9:05Speaker 3: Justment will play them back, and she'll play back whatever
- 9:07Speaker 3: you say. I mean, if you say, honey, bring home
- 9:09Speaker 3: some milk and cheese, she'll play that back.
- 9:11Speaker 4: I know, let's not get a little crazy here. I
- 9:14Speaker 4: do have some discretion back here. There are some that
- 9:17Speaker 4: are not air worthy that I do get.
- 9:20Speaker 3: I wonder sometimes I wonder.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Sometimes they're fun.
- 9:23Speaker 3: They are. Jusman does filter something, so stay colorful, state
- 9:26Speaker 3: appropriate but we'll read them back at eleven Thirty'll read
- 9:29Speaker 3: back to textant the pokomodadge Tech sign at four ninety
- 9:32Speaker 3: four or five to one. The Seahawks starting offenses back
- 9:34Speaker 3: on the field and eleven on eleven right now with
- 9:37Speaker 3: Jackson Smith and Jigbin his bright green shoes catching a
- 9:39Speaker 3: quick out route. A lot of passes to him today
- 9:42Speaker 3: by Sam Darnold. What else I've seen? I've seen a
- 9:45Speaker 3: new number sixteen for the Seahawks. That's Trevon Diggs, the
- 9:48Speaker 3: new cornerback, the former All profit of Dallas Cowboys from
- 9:51Speaker 3: twenty twenty one his last full season in the NFL
- 9:54Speaker 3: twenty twenty two. He signed on Wednesday, and here on Friday,
- 9:58Speaker 3: he's practicing, or at least on the field in practice uniform.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I haven't seen him though. I'm going across the field
- 10:04Speaker 3: from where the defense practicing. Excuse me, the offense is
- 10:07Speaker 3: right in front of me, but I cannot see from
- 10:09Speaker 3: a distance that Trevon Diggs is doing anything and team wise,
- 10:12Speaker 3: two days into his Seahawks career, I don't expect him
- 10:15Speaker 3: to play in the preseason game here on Sunday night.
- 10:18Speaker 3: What else I've seen? The first running back. Interestingly, in
- 10:20Speaker 3: pretty much every scrimmage drill I've been able to watch
- 10:24Speaker 3: in every eleven on eleven, the first running back has
- 10:26Speaker 3: been George Hallanie and not Jedarian Price. Some of that
- 10:29Speaker 3: is that Price is just coming off the leg injury
- 10:31Speaker 3: that he missed a week's worth of practice with the
- 10:33Speaker 3: upper leg soreness. But George Hallane, as he was to
- 10:36Speaker 3: begin training camp, the third year undrafted running back from
- 10:40Speaker 3: Boise State, is the number one running back here in
- 10:42Speaker 3: Nashville in this joint practice with Jedarian Price, the number
- 10:45Speaker 3: one draft picking first round pick alternating in I mentioned
- 10:49Speaker 3: the Headliners. Headline news so far of the practice is
- 10:52Speaker 3: that Jake Bobo was carted off when apparent leg injury
- 10:55Speaker 3: didn't look good. He did not look happy, to say
- 10:58Speaker 3: the least, as he got carted off awkwardly trying to
- 11:01Speaker 3: catch a pass along the sidelines, and then Abe Lucas
- 11:03Speaker 3: walking into the locker room has not been the right
- 11:06Speaker 3: tackle in eleven and eleven since then. He just got
- 11:09Speaker 3: a new contract during last season to beat the book
- 11:11Speaker 3: nd to Charles Cross at the two tackle spots. So yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 3: that would be a loss as well. And now another
- 11:17Speaker 3: seahawk goes down right in front of me, a reserve
- 11:20Speaker 3: receiver on the second time.
- 11:22Speaker 6: Who is that?
- 11:24Speaker 4: The roster is still very big right now, and so
- 11:27Speaker 4: for everyone to know, there's ninety people out there and
- 11:30Speaker 4: only fifty three will make the team, So you're not
- 11:33Speaker 4: expected to know ninety guys by heart.
- 11:37Speaker 3: No, I've just seen it from such a far distance.
- 11:39Speaker 3: There's a crowd of players going around him. I'll try
- 11:41Speaker 3: to get to what he was leaping for a pass
- 11:43Speaker 3: and he landed hard on his hip.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Well, we don't like to see any of that.
- 11:48Speaker 3: So this isn't good. The one thing that Mike McDonald
- 11:52Speaker 3: doesn't want from this, obviously from any preseason activity, but
- 11:55Speaker 3: a joint practice. Come two thousand miles and have injuries,
- 11:59Speaker 3: and they've had a couple today.
- 12:02Speaker 6: Eleven.
- 12:02Speaker 3: On eleven, I saw an interception by Tyle Cotta picked
- 12:05Speaker 3: six on the Titans starting offense run the other way,
- 12:08Speaker 3: and of course Devin Witherspoon and his friends ran along
- 12:10Speaker 3: the sidelines with him and celebrated in the end zone.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And I can't see who that is actually still all right,
- 12:19Speaker 3: But suffice to say, not a blue ribbon all around
- 12:24Speaker 3: day for the Seahawks. Here in Nashville with the injury
- 12:27Speaker 3: to Jake Bob.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Do you think this will deter them from future joint
- 12:30Speaker 4: practices or do they need to get into a football shape.
- 12:33Speaker 4: I think this has been, you know, one of the
- 12:35Speaker 4: debates that has gone on for a long time whether
- 12:39Speaker 4: it's worth it right.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I don't think it'll deter Mike McDonald. I do think
- 12:43Speaker 3: it could happen at any time a guy steps on
- 12:45Speaker 3: the football field. It is it is the caution. They
- 12:49Speaker 3: take it and they know and that is the risk
- 12:52Speaker 3: to doing any kind of eleven on eleven even in
- 12:55Speaker 3: practice back in Rentin so but the receiver went up
- 12:59Speaker 3: and started was Jackson Smith and Jig but he's on
- 13:01Speaker 3: the field. It was not Rashi Zahat. He's on the field.
- 13:06Speaker 3: We'll do some recording on that. But yes, he got
- 13:08Speaker 3: off under his own power and walked away. What else
- 13:11Speaker 3: I've seen here in practice a lot of throws to
- 13:16Speaker 3: Elijah Arroyo. There was a great seven on seven rep
- 13:19Speaker 3: from Sam Darnold who no looked or looked off the
- 13:22Speaker 3: safety to one side of the field and pretty much
- 13:24Speaker 3: no look threw the ball down the right seam to
- 13:27Speaker 3: Elijah Royal. The second round pick last year, who had
- 13:30Speaker 3: only fifteen catches in twelve games last season. He's had
- 13:34Speaker 3: a much more prominent role already in this training camp.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And we talked about Brian Flurry, the forty nine ers
- 13:39Speaker 3: tight ends coach, who has put the tight ends down
- 13:41Speaker 3: the field far more in this offense than Clint Kubiak
- 13:44Speaker 3: showed last year. And Elijah Royal has showed up again
- 13:47Speaker 3: today in this joint practice down the field and we're
- 13:49Speaker 3: not you know, we're not just talking checkdowns with the
- 13:51Speaker 3: tight ends there. Fleury is sending the tight ends Barner Arroyo,
- 13:55Speaker 3: even Eric Salbert and Nick Venette whore no more for
- 13:58Speaker 3: their blocking, the ending him down the field to stretch
- 14:01Speaker 3: defenses down the middle and make safeties have a decision
- 14:04Speaker 3: to make. And Elijah Roya did that today. The safety
- 14:07Speaker 3: picked wrong on the wrong side of the field. And
- 14:08Speaker 3: I know, look past for about forty five yards down
- 14:11Speaker 3: the seam from Sam Darnold to Elijah Royal. So Elijah
- 14:14Speaker 3: Royd continues to have a really good camp. I've seen
- 14:17Speaker 3: Dante Fowler, the veteran pass rusher with the first team defense.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I've seen Devin Witherspoon outside at cornerback, quite a bit.
- 14:25Speaker 3: There's a real question to me, now that Trevon Diggs
- 14:27Speaker 3: is here, how quickly Diggs can get ready for the season.
- 14:29Speaker 3: He's only got four practices today, three next week. I
- 14:33Speaker 3: can't imagine he'll play Sunday night. Here just got here, Jesseman.
- 14:37Speaker 3: But then you got three practices next week before they
- 14:39Speaker 3: get on a jet and go to Kansas City, and
- 14:41Speaker 3: that's the final preseason game before the cuts. I don't
- 14:45Speaker 3: know how much time to front Diggs has to make
- 14:46Speaker 3: the team. He's got four practices and hasn't been in
- 14:49Speaker 3: pad since January. That could be a situation where the
- 14:52Speaker 3: Seahawks say, hey, we're going to release you and put
- 14:54Speaker 3: you on the practice squad to continue your run up
- 14:56Speaker 3: to get ready to play, if you'll agree to that,
- 14:59Speaker 3: and then it'll be up to day to say, well,
- 15:00Speaker 3: I could get a job from Depth Detroit who tried
- 15:03Speaker 3: me out, or somebody else, or if he likes it
- 15:06Speaker 3: here to go with that, and you might see Trevon
- 15:08Speaker 3: Diggs waved with the intent to get him on the
- 15:11Speaker 3: practice squad if he could clear waivers. That would be
- 15:13Speaker 3: a dice roll by the Seahawks to see if they
- 15:15Speaker 3: think they could get Trevon Diggs through waivers, but of
- 15:17Speaker 3: course he was.
- 15:18Speaker 4: I don't think he would last, to be honest, I
- 15:21Speaker 4: really don't.
- 15:22Speaker 3: You might. You may not now that he has signed
- 15:24Speaker 3: with the team and is actually in a camp, that
- 15:26Speaker 3: he might get claimed off of waivers. Right, So that's sort.
- 15:30Speaker 5: So people understand the process.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yes, right, So he's a vested veteran. He could up
- 15:35Speaker 3: for just being waived and he wouldn't even go through waivers.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I'm correcting myself on the fly here. He would have
- 15:41Speaker 3: to just agree to that a handshake gentleman's agreement. Hey,
- 15:43Speaker 3: we're gonna wave you, but then would you sign for
- 15:45Speaker 3: the practice squad?
- 15:47Speaker 5: When that happens quite a bit.
- 15:48Speaker 3: It'd be an outright release, not actually waved to be
- 15:50Speaker 3: a cut because of his vested status, and so he
- 15:54Speaker 3: would just have to agree to that, Hey we're gonna
- 15:55Speaker 3: cut you. Can you come on the practice squad and
- 15:57Speaker 3: we'll ramp you up for a couple more weeks and
- 15:59Speaker 3: get you a football shape. Or he could say, eh,
- 16:01Speaker 3: I'll just choose to be a free agent and go
- 16:03Speaker 3: sign with somebody else. So that could be where he's headed.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Since he's not practicing that I can see in group
- 16:09Speaker 3: or team drills today. Tons more to talk about here
- 16:13Speaker 3: from Nashville. The headliner is that Jake Bobos cuted off
- 16:15Speaker 3: the field with a parent leg injury. It doesn't look great,
- 16:18Speaker 3: and that Abe Lucas walked into the locker room during
- 16:21Speaker 3: eleven on eleven and has yet to return. That I
- 16:23Speaker 3: can see Josh Jones is in as the starting right
- 16:26Speaker 3: tackle four nine, four to five. One of the komodadge
- 16:28Speaker 3: text line your reaction to Kate Anderson the Mariners? Are
- 16:32Speaker 3: you now on board at the Mariners have a chance
- 16:34Speaker 3: to rally and save the season and get to the
- 16:35Speaker 3: playoffs because the savior from double A Arkansas's here, twenty
- 16:39Speaker 3: two year old the third round picking last year's draft,
- 16:42Speaker 3: Or you just ticked off the Mariners didn't do this
- 16:44Speaker 3: back in June or April for that matter, or at
- 16:47Speaker 3: least I think it's.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Going to be a dichotomy of responses that we're going
- 16:51Speaker 4: to get.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I think so too, because we you know.
- 16:54Speaker 4: That whole belief sign from Ted Lasso we had, we
- 16:58Speaker 4: did believe, we did leave. And now the question we
- 17:02Speaker 4: asked earlier in the week was are you at apathy
- 17:06Speaker 4: or is.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Your belief rekindled by the great Kate Anderson starting tomorrow
- 17:10Speaker 3: night at t Mobile Park against the Cubs in his
- 17:13Speaker 3: first major league start. Called up from Double A Arkansas.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Your thoughts on that, we'll read back your text at
- 17:17Speaker 3: eleven thirty up. Next, Montory Foster, the story of training camp.
- 17:22Speaker 3: The unlikely, apparently unlikely new wide receiver is going to
- 17:26Speaker 3: make the fifty three. At least I think he's earned it.
- 17:28Speaker 3: You'll hear from him in his wild story and how
- 17:30Speaker 3: he stayed sharp last year while a substitute teacher in
- 17:33Speaker 3: high school in Ohio. Next a ninety three point three
- 17:36Speaker 3: KJRFM back here at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in
- 17:58Speaker 3: Seahawks training on ninety three point three KJRFM on Tory
- 18:03Speaker 3: Foster wide receiver and his second you're out of Michigan
- 18:06Speaker 3: State join just thanks for coming. I know you're a
- 18:08Speaker 3: busy man.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Yes, sir, thanks for having me.
- 18:10Speaker 3: This is your second training camp. Last year as an
- 18:12Speaker 3: undrafted rookie, the Seahawks side you in May. You had
- 18:16Speaker 3: it was a hamstring injury at this time last year,
- 18:18Speaker 3: right yep, Yes, sir, waved injured hamstring. Then you went
- 18:22Speaker 3: back to Cleveland Ohio, your hometown, and you were a
- 18:25Speaker 3: substitute teacher at Lakewood Sat. Ed's High School. My have
- 18:29Speaker 3: nephews that graduated from St. Ed's from Steubenville down the
- 18:32Speaker 3: state in Ohio. Okay, what was that whole experience like
- 18:36Speaker 3: being an NFL training camp, still being an NFL playing
- 18:39Speaker 3: shape obviously as it turned out, but going back to
- 18:43Speaker 3: your high school and teaching during while the Seahawks are
- 18:46Speaker 3: winning games on the way to the NFC West, you
- 18:48Speaker 3: were teaching back at your high school.
- 18:49Speaker 6: Yeah, it was definitely different. I did a lot of jobs. Honestly.
- 18:53Speaker 7: I actually went back home and I got my real
- 18:55Speaker 7: estate license, so I did that with substitute teaching to
- 18:58Speaker 7: at my high sto cool. And then I was also
- 19:01Speaker 7: training kids, uh little kids in football too, So just
- 19:05Speaker 7: a way to just give back to the game and
- 19:07Speaker 7: keep myself busy while I wasn't here in the building.
- 19:09Speaker 3: And when you were released, did you see how I say, hey,
- 19:12Speaker 3: when you're healthy, will call you or how did that work?
- 19:15Speaker 6: Hey?
- 19:15Speaker 7: I had no clue, man, So you know, I would
- 19:19Speaker 7: go to gyms. I live in Ohio, so we got,
- 19:21Speaker 7: you know, winners. So I'm trying to find a quarterback
- 19:23Speaker 7: trying to find indoor facilities to throw and just stay
- 19:26Speaker 7: in game ready shape. So you know I was ready,
- 19:30Speaker 7: so I didn't have to get ready for sure.
- 19:32Speaker 3: How did you do that? Did you did you find
- 19:34Speaker 3: in quarterback? Did you find indoor facilities? Did you go
- 19:36Speaker 3: to a gym and a heart of basketball floor? How
- 19:38Speaker 3: did you work? It's crazy.
- 19:40Speaker 6: I actually found one of my quarterbacks in a local
- 19:42Speaker 6: gym by luck.
- 19:46Speaker 7: Yeah, this guy, this random guy, uh hes just like
- 19:49Speaker 7: he was like, man, if you need a quarterback, you know,
- 19:52Speaker 7: I throw to you. And I was like, I thought
- 19:53Speaker 7: he was just bs and but he actually we got
- 19:56Speaker 7: together and we started throwing together, and you know, that's
- 19:59Speaker 7: still my guy to this day, and we get extra
- 20:01Speaker 7: working and off season.
- 20:02Speaker 6: For sure.
- 20:02Speaker 3: This is a high school team of the years.
- 20:04Speaker 6: No, it was a random guy.
- 20:05Speaker 7: He worked at this local gym and we just started
- 20:08Speaker 7: talking and conversating. He's like, hey, man, you know I
- 20:11Speaker 7: could throw the ball to you. So I'm like, oh,
- 20:14Speaker 7: I don't know, I don't know about this, but I
- 20:16Speaker 7: gave him a shot and he was great.
- 20:18Speaker 6: He was great for me for sure, and he got.
- 20:19Speaker 3: You ready to the point that the Seahawks called you
- 20:22Speaker 3: again in December and resigned you to the practice squad. Yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 3: there's a shot out his name. What is he would
- 20:27Speaker 3: give him credit for?
- 20:28Speaker 6: Yeah, definitely Jake Dowston.
- 20:30Speaker 7: Yeah, former Mayfield Mayfield High School quarterback.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Okay, Jake Dostell is part of the reason that Montory
- 20:37Speaker 3: Foster is sitting in front of us right here at
- 20:39Speaker 3: Seahorks trading camp. So the Seahawks call you back in
- 20:42Speaker 3: December thirty few sign of the practice squad. Yeah, you
- 20:45Speaker 3: were on the practice squad through the Super Bowl. Tell
- 20:47Speaker 3: us about the Super Bowl experience and jointing the team
- 20:49Speaker 3: in the playoff run after not being here the whole time.
- 20:52Speaker 3: You knew some guys and you knew the but that
- 20:54Speaker 3: was probably a surreal experience.
- 20:56Speaker 6: Yeah, this definitely was different for sure.
- 20:58Speaker 7: And then you know, being on practice squad, getting to
- 21:00Speaker 7: go to the game to see in the atmosphere like
- 21:02Speaker 7: it was just second to none. Like the twelves, the
- 21:05Speaker 7: fans are great, man, I love them and everything. And
- 21:08Speaker 7: it was also a great time to just hone in
- 21:11Speaker 7: on my craft and go against a lot of the
- 21:13Speaker 7: top cornerbacks that were Super Bowl cornerbacks too as well.
- 21:16Speaker 7: That helped me sharpen my game as well too.
- 21:18Speaker 3: So tell us the Super Bowl experience for a practice
- 21:22Speaker 3: squad player who you didn't think you'd be activated for
- 21:25Speaker 3: the game, or at least maybe you were preparing us
- 21:27Speaker 3: if you would, because that's how you have to be prepared, right,
- 21:29Speaker 3: But enjoying all of the festivities, the big normity of
- 21:34Speaker 3: the Super Bowl without the pressure of having to play.
- 21:37Speaker 3: It was that how different was that experience? Were you
- 21:40Speaker 3: and not not? You were along for the ride, but
- 21:42Speaker 3: that's not that's a pretty cool deal to just walk
- 21:45Speaker 3: into that situation.
- 21:47Speaker 7: Yeah, it was pretty cool, man. It was, like I said,
- 21:49Speaker 7: I'm truly grateful just to be in that experience. It
- 21:52Speaker 7: was awesome. The festivities, the fans, everything about it, and
- 21:56Speaker 7: then especially like the gear and stuff. I have so many,
- 21:59Speaker 7: like just items like sunglasses, sert sweaters and everything that.
- 22:05Speaker 7: You know, It's just something that I would never forget.
- 22:08Speaker 3: You didn't play basket or football until your final year
- 22:10Speaker 3: high school, in which in.
- 22:11Speaker 7: In so, I actually played when I was younger, and
- 22:14Speaker 7: I stopped when I was like ten years old, and
- 22:16Speaker 7: then I was just a hooper all throughout high school.
- 22:18Speaker 7: Then my senior year, I was like, man, let me
- 22:20Speaker 7: try out football. Again, and you know it kind of
- 22:22Speaker 7: went from there.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Was it on your own or did a coach and
- 22:25Speaker 3: encourage you or how did you get back into football?
- 22:27Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 22:27Speaker 7: So my high school coach, he would come up to
- 22:30Speaker 7: my locker every day since my freshman year in high school,
- 22:33Speaker 7: was like, hey, man, you need to come try out football, like.
- 22:36Speaker 6: I think you can be a stud. And I was like,
- 22:38Speaker 6: I don't know, I just want to play hoops.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Man.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Those guys on the field over there, they're just too big, man.
- 22:42Speaker 7: I don't want to get hit. But you know, my
- 22:44Speaker 7: last year, my senior year, I came out and just
- 22:47Speaker 7: had fun and you know, made some plays and got
- 22:50Speaker 7: some offers and now we're here today.
- 22:52Speaker 3: His first career high school start was week two of
- 22:55Speaker 3: his senior season for Saint Edwards High School.
- 22:57Speaker 6: And my correct about that, Yeah, I think it was
- 22:58Speaker 6: week two of week three.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yet Michigan State and others offered you a scholarship.
- 23:03Speaker 3: You were second team All Ohio for just playing one
- 23:06Speaker 3: year at wide receiver, and Michigan State other offers. Why
- 23:10Speaker 3: Michigan State was that the one that were.
- 23:11Speaker 7: On your first Yeah, that was the only big school
- 23:14Speaker 7: that was on me first. And then I had a
- 23:16Speaker 7: couple other friends that went to Michigan State as well,
- 23:18Speaker 7: so you know, it was close to home. My family
- 23:21Speaker 7: could come to the games, and it was just a
- 23:22Speaker 7: perfect scenario for me.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Goes into the Big Ten and then as a five
- 23:26Speaker 3: year letter winner, you stayed all five years, which, as
- 23:29Speaker 3: you know in this day and age of college football,
- 23:31Speaker 3: is not usual. You went through a coaching change. Mel Tucker,
- 23:35Speaker 3: the staff that hired you fired, and then Jonathan Smith's
- 23:38Speaker 3: staff came out at Michigan State. Right, how important was
- 23:42Speaker 3: it and did you give thought to how meaningful it
- 23:45Speaker 3: would be to stay all five years and what the
- 23:47Speaker 3: NFL might think of that?
- 23:49Speaker 7: Uh, I wasn't really thinking about I mean, I'm always
- 23:52Speaker 7: thinking about the next level, but I wasn't really thinking
- 23:54Speaker 7: about that next step in the NFL. But for me
- 23:56Speaker 7: in that time, I think it was just the best
- 23:58Speaker 7: move for my family. And you know, I love Michigan
- 24:00Speaker 7: State to death like I bleed green. So you know,
- 24:03Speaker 7: I wanted to stay home and you know try to
- 24:05Speaker 7: you know, turn things around at Michigan State, and you
- 24:08Speaker 7: know that's what I try to do. I put it
- 24:10Speaker 7: all on the field and that's what I did.
- 24:12Speaker 3: How close were you to accepting the Akron in Eastern
- 24:14Speaker 3: Kentucky scholarship for basketball?
- 24:17Speaker 6: Was that even?
- 24:18Speaker 3: Was that when you close it?
- 24:19Speaker 7: You know, it was on the back burner after Michigan
- 24:21Speaker 7: State came, I was like, let's make a business decision.
- 24:23Speaker 6: Let's let's make the smart decision right now exactly.
- 24:27Speaker 3: This is Montry Foster. He's a wide receiver in Seahawks
- 24:29Speaker 3: training here for the second consecutive year, joining us here
- 24:32Speaker 3: on the Seahawks training camp at ninety three point three KJR.
- 24:36Speaker 3: This is a crowded wide receiver field they always are.
- 24:39Speaker 3: You've shown out, You've you've seem to have a rapport
- 24:41Speaker 3: with Jalen Milroe catching passes as well. How do you
- 24:44Speaker 3: assess how it's gone and where it stands for you
- 24:47Speaker 3: and the whole roster shuffle here?
- 24:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 7: With me, I'm just focusing on like what I can do,
- 24:51Speaker 7: what I can control each and every day. So it's
- 24:53Speaker 7: not about you know, outside noise or you know, me
- 24:56Speaker 7: making a play or whatever. I want to do this
- 24:58Speaker 7: like consistently. So you know, I have a standard that
- 25:01Speaker 7: I hold myself to. So every time I step on
- 25:04Speaker 7: the field, I'm trying to, you know, upheld that standard.
- 25:06Speaker 3: You were here this time last year with the rest
- 25:08Speaker 3: of the offense learning Clint Kubiak's offense. Now you're learning
- 25:12Speaker 3: Brian Fleury's offense. What are the differences, What are the similarities.
- 25:16Speaker 7: I would say it's probably it's still a little similar,
- 25:18Speaker 7: just different verbage. So I would say, you know, it's
- 25:21Speaker 7: not too much of a learning curve with everything because
- 25:24Speaker 7: I kind of been in the same system, the West
- 25:26Speaker 7: Coast spread offense kind of system.
- 25:28Speaker 6: So it's been going pretty smooth so far.
- 25:30Speaker 3: And what teams are you on? Special teams? You're on?
- 25:33Speaker 7: Yeah, so I'm on punt I'm on punt return and
- 25:37Speaker 7: then maybe ko R actually all four honestly, so yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 7: all four is you?
- 25:45Speaker 3: And how important may that end up being for you
- 25:48Speaker 3: to make the team as a special teams player?
- 25:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it's huge, It's huge, for sure.
- 25:52Speaker 7: So that's why you know, I'm trying to pay attention
- 25:55Speaker 7: to details and you know, learn from you know, my
- 25:57Speaker 7: mistakes each and every day and just get one percent
- 25:59Speaker 7: better each and there day in that aspect as well.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Cleveland, I gotta ask you, Lebron James fan or.
- 26:04Speaker 6: Not huge Lebron James fan?
- 26:07Speaker 7: So I always heard about that that trade to the
- 26:09Speaker 7: seventy six ers. I was super hurt. You were hoping
- 26:12Speaker 7: he's coming back home exactly.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Yes.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Were you a Browns fan growing up?
- 26:17Speaker 6: Yeah? I am? I am? Okay, definitely huge Browns fan.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, all right. In your wide receiver room, as
- 26:23Speaker 3: I mentioned, very crowded, but you have veterans in there, Jackson,
- 26:26Speaker 3: Spinth and Jay. Performance speaks for itself, but a lot
- 26:29Speaker 3: of the guys in there talking about Cooper Cup, oh
- 26:32Speaker 3: coach in that room. How does Cooper cup mentorship helped
- 26:35Speaker 3: you and what do you learn from him?
- 26:37Speaker 6: It's been great, man. I feel like we had a
- 26:39Speaker 6: situation yesterday.
- 26:40Speaker 7: You know, we had a competition drill and you know
- 26:42Speaker 7: he was coaching me up on my routes and what
- 26:44Speaker 7: I could have did in the situation. So just seeing
- 26:47Speaker 7: him come to work every day, him put like the
- 26:51Speaker 7: hard hat on and you know, going there and block
- 26:54Speaker 7: it just shows to a testament of you know, who
- 26:56Speaker 7: he is as a player, but also just you know,
- 26:59Speaker 7: he is a perfect example to look up to. So
- 27:01Speaker 7: that's kind of what I've been doing each and every day,
- 27:03Speaker 7: just learning every day from him because it's been great.
- 27:07Speaker 3: You still have the substitute teaching on if you needed
- 27:10Speaker 3: they're going to put your back or is that.
- 27:12Speaker 7: Still yeah, that's my home man, for sure. Definitely they're
- 27:16Speaker 7: trying to give me the coach, so that not yet,
- 27:19Speaker 7: not right now.
- 27:20Speaker 3: What was the reaction of you as a Super Bowl
- 27:23Speaker 3: champion when you went back home and was that a
- 27:25Speaker 3: big deal of the saint as?
- 27:26Speaker 6: It was? It was a big deal.
- 27:28Speaker 7: Actually brought the Super Bowl ring back to my high
- 27:30Speaker 7: school and stuff, so they got to.
- 27:31Speaker 6: See it and they the ceremony or whatnot. It wasn't
- 27:34Speaker 6: a ceremony, nothing big.
- 27:35Speaker 7: It's just kind of like I just popped up on
- 27:36Speaker 7: him and stuff, and my coach got to see it
- 27:38Speaker 7: because he played a huge part of me just playing
- 27:40Speaker 7: football in general. So you know, I just wanted to
- 27:43Speaker 7: wanted to show him that ring, to just attest to
- 27:45Speaker 7: all the hard work I put in and to be
- 27:48Speaker 7: able to show him that was just a blessing.
- 27:49Speaker 3: That was the coach that with Buggy in the hallway
- 27:51Speaker 3: to come back. What was his name, coach Lombardo as
- 27:55Speaker 3: I think it's been there a while, hasn't.
- 27:56Speaker 6: He's been there for a while, yes, sir.
- 27:58Speaker 3: For those who don't know, I grew up in Ohio.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Pay High School Fotball. Lake With Stands is a Division
- 28:03Speaker 3: one monster program in Ohio. It's a big, big deal
- 28:05Speaker 3: about this, Wen Toy. I know you're busy. I appreciate
- 28:09Speaker 3: you dropping by all the best. You've messed a luck
- 28:11Speaker 3: for this coming season. It's great to chat with you,
- 28:13Speaker 3: all right, Thank you, Yes, sir, Monty Foster Lake with
- 28:18Speaker 3: Ohio sat with St. Edward High School substitute teacher, real
- 28:22Speaker 3: estate agent in.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Cleveland, and you know the area I do.
- 28:25Speaker 3: My nephews went to that high school and he's going
- 28:29Speaker 3: to make the team. It appears, especially today with the
- 28:34Speaker 3: during practice, the joint practice with the Titans here in Nashville,
- 28:36Speaker 3: of Jake Bobo coming off of the field with an
- 28:39Speaker 3: apparent leg and you carted off the field not looking
- 28:41Speaker 3: very good.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Carted off during a joint practice is really it just
- 28:47Speaker 4: says something that's the amount of time I've covered college
- 28:52Speaker 4: and football and the NFL that is not good.
- 28:56Speaker 3: So we'll see what the word is. We'll talk after
- 28:58Speaker 3: practice as a coach, Mike McDonald, And up next, Mike McDonald,
- 29:03Speaker 3: we'll talk to you about Brian Fleury, the new offensive coordinator.
- 29:05Speaker 3: You'll hear from Mike McDonald here next. I'm live from Nashville.
- 29:09Speaker 3: The Seahawks training joint pertaining practice with the Tennessee Titans
- 29:13Speaker 3: continues live on ninety three point three KJRFM. Welcome back
- 29:35Speaker 3: to Nashville. The Seahawks joint practice with the Titans has
- 29:39Speaker 3: just ended. Not a good day for the Seahawks. Now,
- 29:42Speaker 3: Monty Foster has gone down injured.
- 29:45Speaker 5: Maybe we just heard from him.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Made a leaping catch on the sideline checking his lower
- 29:52Speaker 3: left leg. Practice stopped early on one half of the
- 29:55Speaker 3: field while both teams came over to talk to each
- 29:58Speaker 3: other and look over on Tory Foster as a doctor
- 30:01Speaker 3: checked him. He's on his feet now.
- 30:03Speaker 2: But.
- 30:05Speaker 3: We'll see. I don't want to suppose, but he was
- 30:08Speaker 3: yelling and screaming and frustration. He made a great leaping
- 30:11Speaker 3: catching the sidelines and came down awkwardly and looked like
- 30:14Speaker 3: his lower leg. This was after Jake Bobo was carted
- 30:18Speaker 3: off earlier in the practice and Abe Lucas walked off
- 30:20Speaker 3: to the practice about halfway through it and didn't return.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Tons to get to here. Mike McDonald is up now.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Before he came to Nashville, the team came to Nashville.
- 30:32Speaker 3: He talked about Brian Fleir, the offensive coordinator, and more.
- 30:34Speaker 3: This is coach Mike McDonald from a couple of days
- 30:36Speaker 3: ago here from Seahawks training camp in Nashville in ninety
- 30:38Speaker 3: three point three KJRFM.
- 30:40Speaker 1: All right, good to see everybody. Good workout.
- 30:43Speaker 8: Did you be in pads tomorrow? So looking forward to
- 30:45Speaker 8: that and keep attacking this week. We got a lot
- 30:50Speaker 8: of room to grow and I think we took a
- 30:52Speaker 8: stride today, so that was good.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Off we go practice schedule a little bit this week.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Uh no, well we changed it last week.
- 31:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Is that because we're supposed to were supposed to not
- 31:06Speaker 1: practice to day.
- 31:06Speaker 9: Yeah, it looked like it was like a one hour
- 31:08Speaker 9: walk through in.
- 31:08Speaker 1: This today, So I don't know.
- 31:09Speaker 8: Oh no, we we decided to practice today tomorrow and
- 31:13Speaker 8: slow down Wednesday rather than we just changed the order
- 31:15Speaker 8: of the day.
- 31:16Speaker 1: So but we'd planned on that.
- 31:19Speaker 8: We'll go or seeing some kind of ransom, He's just
- 31:22Speaker 8: like any other return to play guys, just on a's
- 31:25Speaker 8: on his return plan.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Could have seen him out.
- 31:27Speaker 10: There Mike out reporting. Is it now now that you're
- 31:31Speaker 10: in the preseason to really transition these practices to getting
- 31:35Speaker 10: as many of the reps for the starters that he
- 31:37Speaker 10: had regular scene now being less than.
- 31:39Speaker 3: A month away.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Uh, there's a balance.
- 31:42Speaker 8: I mean we uh, we're allocating the reps today because
- 31:47Speaker 8: of the workload we had a couple of days ago,
- 31:49Speaker 8: and then you know that the the joint practice will
- 31:51Speaker 8: have will reflect that as well.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Uh.
- 31:55Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a little more targeted, a little more targeted.
- 31:58Speaker 8: But we're still we're still I think we're still trying
- 32:01Speaker 8: to get.
- 32:02Speaker 1: These guys ready to go play great football. So it'll
- 32:05Speaker 1: it'll really shift once we finish the Chiefs game. I think,
- 32:07Speaker 1: you know, just.
- 32:10Speaker 8: Mirroring what it actually you know, we're not gonna get
- 32:12Speaker 8: into what actually looks like right now, but ones will
- 32:15Speaker 8: get some more work.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I guess that's a good point.
- 32:17Speaker 7: You had your thoughts on the game immediately afterwork, when
- 32:20Speaker 7: you went back and looked at it.
- 32:21Speaker 3: What confirmed that?
- 32:22Speaker 9: What you what might?
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, same same feeling.
- 32:26Speaker 8: Honestly, there's there's there's a great opportunity for us to
- 32:29Speaker 8: uh to understand uh what Seahawk football is and what
- 32:33Speaker 8: isn't and what it's going to take that to play
- 32:35Speaker 8: for us. So we had we had some great meetings
- 32:38Speaker 8: this morning. I think, uh, it's good for our team.
- 32:40Speaker 8: You know, we need we need to see those things
- 32:42Speaker 8: and and uh, I think we're gonna grow from it.
- 32:45Speaker 8: But I think it's it's a lot of the things
- 32:46Speaker 8: we said right after the game, a lot of good
- 32:48Speaker 8: there's a lot of good stuff too, you know, a
- 32:49Speaker 8: lot of a lot of great individual play, but not
- 32:53Speaker 8: not enough great individual play to.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Kind of earn a better result.
- 32:58Speaker 9: What what did the film so in Jalen? What you
- 33:01Speaker 9: kind of find of how they.
- 33:02Speaker 8: Yeah, I you know, I think I think there's there's
- 33:08Speaker 8: room to grow. But I think both had solid performances. Frankly,
- 33:12Speaker 8: I mean it wasn't much for for for Jalen to
- 33:17Speaker 8: make to come to life. There's some better decisions you
- 33:18Speaker 8: can make feel more decisive in a couple of situations,
- 33:21Speaker 8: but I mean that's gonna be every quarterback.
- 33:25Speaker 1: But I was I was pleased with their performances. I
- 33:27Speaker 1: felt like it was a good start.
- 33:29Speaker 9: What would you hear from Brian Fleurry about his first
- 33:31Speaker 9: experience Calm Place.
- 33:35Speaker 8: It was like it wasn't in practice, it wasn't really
- 33:38Speaker 8: we're not We're not. We're not doing a lot schematically
- 33:42Speaker 8: right now. So it's pretty far for the course fro Honestly.
- 33:48Speaker 9: I talked about operational stuff not being there.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we can be, but we can be we
- 33:52Speaker 1: can be a little bit better.
- 33:53Speaker 8: I mean, it's truly everybody starts with me, goes to
- 33:55Speaker 8: the coordinators, down to the guys with the green dot
- 33:58Speaker 8: to how the information kind ofles down, how we sub
- 34:02Speaker 8: you know, all of our coaches on the sideline.
- 34:03Speaker 1: It's just it was a good, good wake.
- 34:05Speaker 8: Up call that we gotta we gotta get better and
- 34:07Speaker 8: went Yeah, I feel like I actually watched the game.
- 34:11Speaker 8: It's funny when you're not calling the plays, you'd probably
- 34:13Speaker 8: see more things. Yeah, he's he uh, very similar to
- 34:17Speaker 8: what we saw right after the game. Played played really well,
- 34:20Speaker 8: played a really great did a really great job. I
- 34:22Speaker 8: think you had like tackle every two players in there
- 34:25Speaker 8: or something pretty crazy.
- 34:26Speaker 11: He talked after the game about you played some off
- 34:29Speaker 11: the edge and he did that quite a bit of
- 34:31Speaker 11: you tap.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Is that something that you envisioned, you know, trying to.
- 34:34Speaker 1: See I don't know what you're talking about.
- 34:36Speaker 8: There's something you wouldn't vision potentially him maybe being able
- 34:39Speaker 8: at least in passing down to be a way to get.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Him on the field.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Yeah, let's just say he's he's.
- 34:47Speaker 8: It's a good problem to have from a coach perspective
- 34:49Speaker 8: of trying to figure out a way to get him
- 34:50Speaker 8: out there and what's the best for the team.
- 34:52Speaker 1: So I think we're working through that right now.
- 34:54Speaker 9: Does your game day change when you are not calling plays.
- 34:57Speaker 1: A lot nicer? Uh, more talkative? With my wife?
- 35:01Speaker 8: For sure, it's it's a pretty drastic change, an like
- 35:06Speaker 8: your mind is. But I mean, if if I wasn't
- 35:08Speaker 8: calling plays, I'd be in a real and like a
- 35:11Speaker 8: regular choosing and I'd be really I'd still be like
- 35:13Speaker 8: really involved with what we're doing. So i'd imagine I
- 35:15Speaker 8: probably feel the same.
- 35:17Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I really don't know what.
- 35:18Speaker 1: I don't really don't know what. It feels like it
- 35:20Speaker 1: might go them back to today's practice.
- 35:22Speaker 9: We talked about Saturday's operational things. You get meetings this morning.
- 35:25Speaker 6: What did you like about today's practice?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, ur intent are intent.
- 35:29Speaker 8: It wasn't wasn't a crazy, crazy long practice or intense practice,
- 35:32Speaker 8: but the ones workload was heavier, which is good get
- 35:36Speaker 8: their wind up. But anytime we challenge our guys to
- 35:38Speaker 8: do anything, their their intent has been fantastic and.
- 35:42Speaker 1: We did it again today, So I'm you know, we
- 35:44Speaker 1: trust our guys.
- 35:45Speaker 8: You know, this is like our first kind of first
- 35:48Speaker 8: opportunity to work through a not perfect situation. I wouldn't
- 35:53Speaker 8: call it adverse, but it maybe maybe you do call
- 35:55Speaker 8: it adverse situation where it's just say, things didn't go
- 35:58Speaker 8: your way.
- 35:59Speaker 1: You know, we said we're gonna oper it a certain way,
- 36:01Speaker 1: and so.
- 36:01Speaker 8: Now let's go, uh, let's go do act and do
- 36:05Speaker 8: an act as we said we were going to, you know,
- 36:07Speaker 8: and then try to solve this problem together.
- 36:09Speaker 9: So important because to understand that because of the.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Season, you know, that's the way it works.
- 36:15Speaker 8: It's the way it works is there's something every week
- 36:17Speaker 8: you're always trying to you know, solve challenges and solve problems.
- 36:21Speaker 8: And and it's again it's not just me in a
- 36:25Speaker 8: closet figuring it out. It's it's all of us kind
- 36:28Speaker 8: of having those conversations and understand how we see things
- 36:30Speaker 8: and how we want to how we want to be,
- 36:32Speaker 8: and all of us come into you know, solutions.
- 36:34Speaker 1: That's so we did today talking.
- 36:36Speaker 9: About the joint practices. How much more can you do
- 36:40Speaker 9: or show black better term when it's a practice and
- 36:42Speaker 9: it's not broadcasting a little country kind of TV preseason game,
- 36:45Speaker 9: is there.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a little. Maybe it's a little it's uh.
- 36:48Speaker 8: I mean, you're going to practice the stuff you've been
- 36:49Speaker 8: practicing camp. There might be some things you hold back, uh,
- 36:54Speaker 8: But it's different than a game. You're not you're not
- 36:56Speaker 8: game planning the team, so you're just kind of running
- 37:00Speaker 8: one of the greatest hid so to speak.
- 37:01Speaker 1: And but there's also times where you know, we need
- 37:03Speaker 1: to see.
- 37:04Speaker 8: Guys in certain matchups and guys in certain positions, and
- 37:08Speaker 8: you know you're you're trying to compete and do very well,
- 37:10Speaker 8: but not at the expense of, you know, evaluating your
- 37:13Speaker 8: team the best you possibly can and put them in
- 37:15Speaker 8: those situations. So I think it's kind of a combo
- 37:17Speaker 8: for combo platter for all those things.
- 37:19Speaker 9: More clarity on when Julian and You'll be able to
- 37:21Speaker 9: get out.
- 37:21Speaker 8: There team he's working back, is working his way back now.
- 37:25Speaker 8: But no new timetable or anything.
- 37:28Speaker 9: Do you have any more firm timetable for Terry on
- 37:30Speaker 9: Windhill report?
- 37:31Speaker 1: Yeah, no update on his front.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Bran Flory gonna call player be sideline all year.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I think there.
- 37:38Speaker 8: I think he might call this one from the booth.
- 37:42Speaker 8: You will quote me on that, but don't quote me
- 37:44Speaker 8: on that.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Well, I'll we'll kind of confirm.
- 37:47Speaker 8: I think that's the plan right now, but we haven't
- 37:49Speaker 8: like stamped it yet, but we'll let you know.
- 37:51Speaker 3: What are the pros and cons upstairs downstairs?
- 37:53Speaker 6: What you like?
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'm not really sure.
- 37:55Speaker 8: I think it's a personal preference on how well you
- 37:58Speaker 8: can see it versus you can communicate where the rest
- 38:01Speaker 8: of the staff is like their roles. Some guys, I
- 38:05Speaker 8: don't know, they kind of like just being away from
- 38:07Speaker 8: things so they can some guys like being in it.
- 38:09Speaker 8: I prefer to be in it, you know, be in
- 38:11Speaker 8: the fight. And you're kind of used to seeing it
- 38:13Speaker 8: from a certain angle. So never really called offensive plays
- 38:17Speaker 8: before and that she count like JV Sater shoals, is it.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Easier for you to reach out to touch opensive play?
- 38:25Speaker 8: Cord says, no, no, no, I just I'm on their
- 38:29Speaker 8: frequency and just it's just as easy.
- 38:32Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 38:33Speaker 9: You seem Sam good, pretty sharp out there today. What
- 38:35Speaker 9: would you kind of think of right just the practice today.
- 38:37Speaker 3: But then all overall where he's kind of had in camp.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Yeah, SAMs had a great camp. I think feel like
- 38:42Speaker 1: we got a a.
- 38:45Speaker 8: It's becoming chrisp like, becoming clearer plan on how we
- 38:48Speaker 8: want to operate from now to go play the game
- 38:51Speaker 8: the first game, and he's been right there every step
- 38:55Speaker 8: of the way he's been.
- 38:56Speaker 1: It's been tremendous.
- 38:57Speaker 9: Nick Canvin worry is a thinking an update on next Sorry,
- 39:03Speaker 9: a couple of guys we didn't see out there, Yeah,
- 39:04Speaker 9: Tory Horton is he okay?
- 39:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Tory's working through some things.
- 39:10Speaker 8: Yeah, not a lot of updates on the injury front
- 39:12Speaker 8: right now, but they always a couple of guys down
- 39:14Speaker 8: to day. Seemed like Jared and Ivy was extremely disruptive
- 39:18Speaker 8: in the game on Saturday night and then we didn't
- 39:20Speaker 8: see much early in camp.
- 39:21Speaker 1: But how have you seen him take some step forward here?
- 39:23Speaker 8: And yeah, I did some good things on the edge,
- 39:26Speaker 8: great competition there, but he definitely had some really good plays.
- 39:30Speaker 1: So that was that was positive.
- 39:31Speaker 6: That was good.
- 39:32Speaker 9: Jalen gains into the same Bame, what do you what
- 39:34Speaker 9: do you thought of his camp so far?
- 39:37Speaker 8: Yeah, Jallen's had a good camp, he said. He again,
- 39:39Speaker 8: he's had some splash plays. I think, uh, I think
- 39:42Speaker 8: his like Jalen just he cares so much like it
- 39:45Speaker 8: just matters so much to him, and so sometimes like
- 39:48Speaker 8: sometimes we just want him to let it go rip man,
- 39:51Speaker 8: because he's a talented guy.
- 39:52Speaker 1: He's strong, he can play the edge, you can rush,
- 39:54Speaker 1: you know, he plays with a lot of energy.
- 39:56Speaker 8: And when he does, when he does that, he's he's
- 39:58Speaker 8: a dang good football player. When he kind of, you know,
- 40:01Speaker 8: thinks about too much whatever, that might slow his game
- 40:03Speaker 8: down a little bit, but he's doing a really good job.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Back at Seahawks joint practice in Nashville, Tennessee with the
- 40:13Speaker 3: Tennessee Titans, we're joined by Jared Reed, the soul of
- 40:16Speaker 3: the locker room, veteran defensive lineman. Right off the field,
- 40:20Speaker 3: you lost a few LB's maybe today? Huh a little hot, Jared?
- 40:27Speaker 3: Could we dry that again?
- 40:32Speaker 10: Might chick? My chip, My chick, my chick? How about now,
- 40:35Speaker 10: Mike chick, Mike chick?
- 40:36Speaker 3: All right, Jared, you might have lost a few. All
- 40:39Speaker 3: you guys lost a few LB's.
- 40:40Speaker 10: Today, definitely, Man, Yeah, we used a few pounds. The
- 40:43Speaker 10: pounds its lost out here, man, but it's good. Come
- 40:46Speaker 10: down here to the South man, get some good working
- 40:49Speaker 10: working man, you know, facing adversity with the heat, something
- 40:52Speaker 10: that that those guys are accustomed to, man, but overall,
- 40:55Speaker 10: we came up here, man, got some good person in there.
- 40:58Speaker 3: What it stood out to you the most today about
- 40:59Speaker 3: how you're defense played ones versus one, probably the only
- 41:01Speaker 3: time you'll do it before the real game.
- 41:03Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean I think we did a good job.
- 41:05Speaker 10: You know, it's still not real football, but you know
- 41:07Speaker 10: it's kind of like real contact. It's nice to get
- 41:10Speaker 10: go against somebody else. Man. The whole camp, we've been
- 41:12Speaker 10: battling against each other. I mean there's ups and downs
- 41:14Speaker 10: and practice. I mean that's the way it goes. Uh,
- 41:16Speaker 10: we can go check the film and all trying to
- 41:18Speaker 10: get better off of the man.
- 41:19Speaker 3: The only thing that's really real is the line of
- 41:21Speaker 3: scrimmage and see plays like days like this. How did
- 41:24Speaker 3: that go? Physicality wise? Do you think for you guys?
- 41:26Speaker 3: I think we did good man. I think you know,
- 41:28Speaker 3: phys you know show pretty much we did a really
- 41:31Speaker 3: good job. But uh, that's that's just you know what
- 41:34Speaker 3: we bank ourselves on. What's life like as a super
- 41:37Speaker 3: Bowl champion. Now you've been playing in the league so
- 41:39Speaker 3: long and then you finally get to the mountaintop. Did
- 41:41Speaker 3: life change for you at all? So far?
- 41:43Speaker 6: No?
- 41:43Speaker 3: Not at all.
- 41:44Speaker 10: It's uh, it actually made us want to go harder
- 41:46Speaker 10: just because, uh, you know, I think we're gonna be
- 41:49Speaker 10: what they call the hunting now. Whatever everybody's got, don't
- 41:52Speaker 10: has going on and one to say, but we don't
- 41:54Speaker 10: focus on that.
- 41:55Speaker 8: Man.
- 41:55Speaker 10: That was last year. This season the new season. Man,
- 41:57Speaker 10: We're just trying to get better and each and every
- 41:59Speaker 10: day we can out. Nobody speaks on that, you know,
- 42:02Speaker 10: while we're in camp or during practice. You know, we
- 42:04Speaker 10: just call it outside noise.
- 42:06Speaker 3: What's the best part of these trips, Jared Reed? The
- 42:09Speaker 3: coming two thousand miles with nine you guys is what's
- 42:11Speaker 3: the most enjoyable, man.
- 42:14Speaker 10: The best things, seriously, man, is being around the guys.
- 42:17Speaker 10: We spend so much time around each other. Now we
- 42:21Speaker 10: have no choice but to be each other all day day. Man.
- 42:23Speaker 10: But these are my brothers.
- 42:24Speaker 6: Man.
- 42:24Speaker 10: We're a close group, close knit group, and you know,
- 42:27Speaker 10: we get to hang out, man, crack some jokes, watch
- 42:30Speaker 10: some football, go out to eat together, and it just
- 42:33Speaker 10: builds a more team camaraderie.
- 42:35Speaker 3: You've been around a few cultures in the NFL, three
- 42:37Speaker 3: different teams. Now Seattle drafted you and then you twenty
- 42:40Speaker 3: sixteen and then you went to Green Bay for a time,
- 42:42Speaker 3: you went to Kansas City, back to Seattle. Where does
- 42:45Speaker 3: Mike McDonald's culture and your togetherness of this team rank
- 42:48Speaker 3: of all the ones you've been on.
- 42:49Speaker 10: This is by far to close the team I've ever
- 42:51Speaker 10: been a part of, besides when I was at Alabama.
- 42:55Speaker 10: You know the philosophy, the philosophies that he has, you
- 42:58Speaker 10: know the chemistry that we built as a team. And
- 43:02Speaker 10: I think we got the most amazing group of guys
- 43:06Speaker 10: in the league period. You know, I want I don't
- 43:09Speaker 10: want to be anywhere else when I love these guys
- 43:11Speaker 10: with all my heart. Man, we're really brothers out there,
- 43:13Speaker 10: and we really uh respect each other. We play hard
- 43:17Speaker 10: for each other. You know, we correct each other, We
- 43:20Speaker 10: take constructive criticism. I couldn't ask for a better group
- 43:23Speaker 10: of guys to play with.
- 43:24Speaker 3: I've heard you and others say that the togetherness is
- 43:26Speaker 3: why you won the Super Bowl last year. How does
- 43:28Speaker 3: it show up on the field.
- 43:29Speaker 10: Absolutely, just how we play. You know, we pick each
- 43:33Speaker 10: other up when we're down. You know, we're not like
- 43:36Speaker 10: pointing fingers or anything. Somebody mess up. Where constructed them, Uh,
- 43:41Speaker 10: criticize them constructively, But we're never knocking them down. You know,
- 43:44Speaker 10: we're always just amen. Come on, look, we know you've
- 43:46Speaker 10: been thiss We pick him up when he went to down,
- 43:49Speaker 10: and we don't want to mess up. We hold each
- 43:51Speaker 10: other accountable.
- 43:53Speaker 3: You've been at this a day or three, Jared, have
- 43:56Speaker 3: you given thought to how many more days you might
- 43:58Speaker 3: want to do this? How many work camps you might
- 43:59Speaker 3: want to do? Oh, I'm gonna keep going to the wheels.
- 44:02Speaker 10: Go yeah. Man, Look, my son just started middle school,
- 44:06Speaker 10: so you know, uh, he'll be in high school soon,
- 44:09Speaker 10: so you know, we'll see how they go.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I remember when your son was born. That's how long
- 44:13Speaker 3: I've covered.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Yeah, what is.
- 44:15Speaker 3: That like to watch watch your baby grow up to
- 44:17Speaker 3: be now in middle school?
- 44:19Speaker 10: Man? Well, it's not how it turned out to be
- 44:22Speaker 10: because when he comes to the games, he just not
- 44:25Speaker 10: exciting as I thought it would. You know, they got
- 44:27Speaker 10: the ie pads and stuff now, But he with his sisters,
- 44:29Speaker 10: and I think his sisters are more involved in the
- 44:31Speaker 10: game he is. He just I don't think he understands
- 44:34Speaker 10: like when he comes from being like who he's around,
- 44:36Speaker 10: because he's.
- 44:37Speaker 6: Just a kid.
- 44:37Speaker 10: But I talked about all the time because me as
- 44:40Speaker 10: a kid, I was like football football twenty four to seven.
- 44:43Speaker 10: He's just like, oh zigg Jacks, ohigg lill dig say
- 44:47Speaker 10: him part of the day. He'd be like, hey, he
- 44:50Speaker 10: wrap him up. He shot up box with him a
- 44:51Speaker 10: little bit. But man, you know, it's just amazing, man,
- 44:55Speaker 10: just watching him grow up, just keeping him around. Man,
- 44:57Speaker 10: I love it.
- 44:58Speaker 3: I gotta ask you about the boom mic this over
- 45:00Speaker 3: your head right now, the hard knocks that's everywhere. Has
- 45:03Speaker 3: it been a distraction?
- 45:04Speaker 6: And what if you guys.
- 45:05Speaker 10: At first you know it was like name, But honestly,
- 45:08Speaker 10: I'll be forgetting on hard halftime. There's always a lot
- 45:11Speaker 10: of people around, but I think we're all just so
- 45:14Speaker 10: focus on what's going on in front of us, so
- 45:16Speaker 10: it's not a distraction.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Practice Today it looked like there was only one or
- 45:20Speaker 3: two skirmishes, not anything out of hand. Did you guys
- 45:23Speaker 3: get told sternly? The NFL sent a memo to teams
- 45:26Speaker 3: saying no fighting or we're gonna find you. How much
- 45:28Speaker 3: was that an emphasis before you guys got on the field.
- 45:31Speaker 10: Well, we just knew we had to come get work.
- 45:33Speaker 10: Really no time for nonsense and just go out there.
- 45:36Speaker 10: Just get to work, you know, do everything in between
- 45:38Speaker 10: the lines, in between the whistles.
- 45:40Speaker 3: As you understand it, is this the most work you're
- 45:41Speaker 3: gonna get before the opener? You're done?
- 45:43Speaker 10: Now we got we got more camp to go campus
- 45:47Speaker 10: beside camp, I mean against I've been doing this a
- 45:50Speaker 10: long time.
- 45:51Speaker 8: Man.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Whatever my numbers, your defensive line rotation, my Riley Mills
- 45:57Speaker 3: joining it really makes you deeper. But are you satisfied personally?
- 46:01Speaker 3: You've been around some deep defensive lines around here. How's
- 46:03Speaker 3: the depth you think you're gonna need? Eight nine, ten guys?
- 46:05Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean I think that death is good.
- 46:07Speaker 6: Man.
- 46:07Speaker 10: We could roll in guys at any time. Everybody can
- 46:09Speaker 10: play anywhere, anybody can rush from anywhere, and definitely getting
- 46:14Speaker 10: rally is a huge addition. Man, he had he's had
- 46:16Speaker 10: a great camp. I don't think nobody can stop him
- 46:18Speaker 10: out there. Man, he's showing off. Just let him get
- 46:21Speaker 10: get his feedback on him real good, you know, get
- 46:23Speaker 10: some more games under him, you know, just lit the game.
- 46:25Speaker 10: Slow down a little bit, man, He's gonna be great. Man.
- 46:28Speaker 10: And just he rolls how we roll, so you know,
- 46:31Speaker 10: just another person to add to it. Man, more bullets
- 46:33Speaker 10: and the dain.
- 46:34Speaker 3: This is Jan Reed right off the side of the
- 46:36Speaker 3: field here in Nashville Live by ninety three point three,
- 46:38Speaker 3: k your friend of the Seahawks Titans practice. What do
- 46:41Speaker 3: you expect that I Byron Murphy, year three And can
- 46:45Speaker 3: you describe the people I've tried to describe the way
- 46:47Speaker 3: he takes on double teams by dropping new a knee
- 46:49Speaker 3: and how hard that is to do.
- 46:50Speaker 10: Man, Look, the way he plays the game period is
- 46:54Speaker 10: tier top tiered to the I don't think he gets
- 46:57Speaker 10: respects he deserves in his league yet. Man, I don't
- 47:00Speaker 10: know why, but guys around this league, all the PFF
- 47:03Speaker 10: and whoever the the what's his name? Adam said from
- 47:06Speaker 10: the inside, I just feel like he needs to respect.
- 47:09Speaker 10: He's definitely top two in my opinion. I'm always boost
- 47:13Speaker 10: my guys. I think him and Lee are two of
- 47:15Speaker 10: the best defensive tackles in the league. Man, the way
- 47:17Speaker 10: that he plays double teams, the way he goes and
- 47:19Speaker 10: rush the pastor, I don't think nobody really looks at
- 47:22Speaker 10: it because we're inside. Nobody really understands how hard that
- 47:25Speaker 10: is unless you're playing the game, you know, And just
- 47:28Speaker 10: the way he tastes about it. He doesn't complain, he
- 47:30Speaker 10: doesn't say anything. He just works, works, work all day long. Man,
- 47:34Speaker 10: and I just keep telling him every time, you know,
- 47:36Speaker 10: don't pay attention to it. You know, you can't pay
- 47:38Speaker 10: attention to it because all that that's it's a popularity contest,
- 47:40Speaker 10: you know, it's all people's opinions, both us in the
- 47:43Speaker 10: football world. We know, and he's gonna get what he
- 47:45Speaker 10: deserves one day when it could be today, tomorrow, You're
- 47:49Speaker 10: from now to you now, whoever knows, you know he
- 47:51Speaker 10: gonna get. I think, I truly think he's gonna get
- 47:53Speaker 10: all the accolades and all the respects, all the respect
- 47:55Speaker 10: he deserves. Man, Just tell him to keep his head
- 47:57Speaker 10: down and keep working.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Tell me how difficult it is to drop through a
- 48:00Speaker 3: knee and have two three hundred plus pound guys blocking
- 48:03Speaker 3: you that he gets up and splits them.
- 48:04Speaker 10: So, believe it or not, it kind of makes it
- 48:06Speaker 10: easier really when you drop to a knee because you
- 48:09Speaker 10: have kind of like more leverage. It's it's kind of
- 48:12Speaker 10: beliversed thing, you know, kind of like in wrestling, the
- 48:15Speaker 10: lower man wins type of or dire So, I mean,
- 48:17Speaker 10: it's just kind of makes it for the for a reason, right,
- 48:20Speaker 10: they don't want to go that low. So you know
- 48:22Speaker 10: it's it's a change up sometimes because a lot of
- 48:24Speaker 10: guys I used to way bigger guys and you know
- 48:27Speaker 10: they could just roll on them and stand them up
- 48:29Speaker 10: with him. You know, he has this ability to do
- 48:31Speaker 10: the drop knee technique and bounce up. I mean that
- 48:34Speaker 10: stuff that it's been coached for a long time. You
- 48:36Speaker 10: really see people use it. But you know he's a
- 48:39Speaker 10: dozen in a diamond dominum dozen if I said it right, what.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Why is that? Why do why do coaches coach it
- 48:45Speaker 3: but players don't do it? You know?
- 48:47Speaker 6: Is it?
- 48:48Speaker 10: They give you all the type of tools to use
- 48:49Speaker 10: and playing there's all different ways to play blocks, you know,
- 48:52Speaker 10: and some people taking some people don't. You know, it's
- 48:55Speaker 10: all on the player, you know. So that's just it's
- 48:57Speaker 10: an instant thing. You can coach it, you can teach it,
- 49:00Speaker 10: but the player has to do it. So well, it's
- 49:02Speaker 10: an instant thing, all right.
- 49:04Speaker 3: What are you looking for tonight in the rookie talent
- 49:06Speaker 3: show at the barbecue?
- 49:07Speaker 10: Man?
- 49:07Speaker 3: Who's Who's who? You waiting to stand out?
- 49:09Speaker 10: I want my rookies to do so let me to
- 49:11Speaker 10: step up. Eastern Eastern definitely. Adrian Hubbard's step up.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Adian Hubbard just now joined the defensive line. He wasn't
- 49:20Speaker 3: an outside linebacker's questern he's got what, He's got some
- 49:24Speaker 3: work to do.
- 49:24Speaker 10: He's so quiet man. We try to get him out
- 49:26Speaker 10: of a little shell man. But I'm I'm excited to
- 49:29Speaker 10: see what he does.
- 49:30Speaker 3: What kind of performance does he need to put on
- 49:32Speaker 3: to impress you?
- 49:35Speaker 10: I think he needs to imitate coach A d I
- 49:39Speaker 10: think that would be hilarious.
- 49:42Speaker 3: The defensive cord. What do you I'm joking? But what
- 49:45Speaker 3: do you guys get out of that too? Because I've
- 49:46Speaker 3: heard guys join love and others say that that bonds
- 49:49Speaker 3: you guys. Just those experiences. Hey, it's good.
- 49:52Speaker 10: Look we all you know, everybody that comes to the
- 49:55Speaker 10: lead has a right of passage. This is like a
- 49:56Speaker 10: writer pass you know. We want to see the young
- 49:59Speaker 10: guys make us laugh. Everybody's sold and locked in the
- 50:02Speaker 10: meetings and quiet. This is our time. You know, to
- 50:05Speaker 10: let your carrotter show, you know, show your personality, show
- 50:08Speaker 10: who you are, and you'll make us laugh. And you
- 50:10Speaker 10: know it's all love. We're gonna laugh at you, but
- 50:12Speaker 10: then we come in and then we're gonna sell you love.
- 50:14Speaker 10: At the end of the man that's less. You know,
- 50:16Speaker 10: man now like you're a part of us for real.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Jared Read an Alabama man who doesn't think this heat
- 50:21Speaker 3: in Nashville, Tennessee or anything. We appreciate you stopping over
- 50:23Speaker 3: stir and all the best for you. Hat another good season.
- 50:25Speaker 3: I thank you, Jared Reid here from Nashville. More from
- 50:28Speaker 3: the Seahawks Titans joint practice. Next on ninety three point

- 50:40Speaker 2: Now from the Star Runners Sports to us your ninety
- 50:42Speaker 2: three point three kJ RFM sports headlines.
- 50:46Speaker 3: High Happy Friday from Nashville, right on the sidelines of
- 50:49Speaker 3: the Seahawks Titans joint practice. Your headlines brought here by
- 50:51Speaker 3: Frost Food course like Cho's Chill. The headlines of the
- 50:54Speaker 3: practice here is that Jake Bobo has a major knee injury.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Mike McDonald, the coach, just confirming that a few minutes
- 50:59Speaker 3: to go to us that it's a serious looking knee injury.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Sounds like it's the end of the season. He's going
- 51:04Speaker 3: to undergo more imaging test, but the initial read is
- 51:07Speaker 3: a major knee injury for Jake Bobo and his season's
- 51:09Speaker 3: likely over. He was leaping on the sidelines to make
- 51:12Speaker 3: a catch and traffic came down, landed awkward on his
- 51:15Speaker 3: leg and was carted out of the practice early in it.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Jake Bobo likely out for the season when Tory Foster
- 51:21Speaker 3: left the scrimmage right at the end of it after
- 51:23Speaker 3: making himself a leaping catch on the sideline. Mike McDonald
- 51:26Speaker 3: the good news for the Seauxs That is a heat
- 51:28Speaker 3: related injury, according to the head coach, same with I'd mentioned.
- 51:32Speaker 5: Something can show up as something more serious.
- 51:35Speaker 3: Yes, exactly it. I mean it's ninety five degrees about
- 51:39Speaker 3: ninety percent humidity out here right now in a bright sun.
- 51:42Speaker 3: But Abe Lucas also left during practice and it's a
- 51:45Speaker 3: heat related issue according to Mike McDonald's two bullets dodged there,
- 51:49Speaker 3: but not so with Jake Bobo likely out for the
- 51:52Speaker 3: year with a major knee injury. They went eleven on eleven,
- 51:54Speaker 3: the most extensive action that the ones will go against
- 51:56Speaker 3: the Ones. Jared Reid talked about that. If you missed
- 51:58Speaker 3: our interview with him, Good to ninety three KJR dot
- 52:01Speaker 3: com website, the Greg Best Show podcast, or the iHeartRadio
- 52:05Speaker 3: Web ninety three KJR. The Mariners are back home. They
- 52:08Speaker 3: got the Cubs for three in the yard in Soto tonight.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Yesterday I lost seven to four in Milwaukee because George
- 52:14Speaker 3: Kurby allowed six runs in the first inning. Trash Cans
- 52:17Speaker 3: also lost, So Seattle's four games behind Houston for first
- 52:19Speaker 3: place in the AOS. The Ams are three games out
- 52:22Speaker 3: in the wild card race. Thirty four games remain. The
- 52:24Speaker 3: first one is tonight at the Art As I said,
- 52:26Speaker 3: fireworks night, so they'll be forty five thousand there against
- 52:29Speaker 3: the Cubs Emerson Hancock against Seattle native Matthew Boyd. The
- 52:32Speaker 3: Cubs are throwing three left handers at the Mariners. That
- 52:34Speaker 3: you know what that means no offense for the Mariners
- 52:36Speaker 3: this weekend. Likely it'll be doa. But tomorrow, Hey, Katie Anderson,
- 52:42Speaker 3: the long awaited debut, overdue debut, I would say, twenty
- 52:46Speaker 3: two year old third pick in the twenty twenty five draft,
- 52:49Speaker 3: coming up straight from Double A Arkansas, to be in
- 52:51Speaker 3: the Mariner's rotation tomorrow night and get the start that
- 52:54Speaker 3: pushes Brian Will back to Sunday. He gets a day
- 52:56Speaker 3: extra rest, so the Cad Anderson phenom era begins tomorrow
- 53:01Speaker 3: night at T Mobile Park Seahawks. After today, I get
- 53:06Speaker 3: to go to the barbecue joint tonight and have a
- 53:09Speaker 3: herky talent show. You heard Jared Reeve say he's on
- 53:11Speaker 3: the spot for that. To an Eastern the rookie line,
- 53:14Speaker 3: the undrafted rookie Aiden Hubbard from Northwestern. He said he's
- 53:19Speaker 3: really quiet and he's gonna try to get him out
- 53:21Speaker 3: of the shell tonight, and then they have a rest
- 53:23Speaker 3: day tomorrow before preseason game on Sunday. I don't expect
- 53:26Speaker 3: you're going to see many of the starters, if any.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Travon Diggs did practice in individual position drills, then took
- 53:31Speaker 3: his pads off and watched the rest of the scrimmage,
- 53:33Speaker 3: two days after he signed his contract, the former All
- 53:35Speaker 3: Pro cornerback. The Sounders are in Cincinnati tomorrow. The MLS
- 53:40Speaker 3: records eight game losing streak franchise record at eight game
- 53:43Speaker 3: MLS losing streak at Cincinnati tomorrow, a four pm pre
- 53:46Speaker 3: game show with Jackson Feld's four to thirty match time
- 53:48Speaker 3: here on ninety three point three. The Stormer at the
- 53:50Speaker 3: Dallas Wings Sunday in a WNBA game one pm Sunday,
- 53:54Speaker 3: and in Las Vegas Raiders coach Clint Koby Aca I
- 53:57Speaker 3: remember him, former Seahawks offensive corners said he's not rid
- 54:00Speaker 3: in the name of starting quarterback for the Raiders. He
- 54:02Speaker 3: sat veteran Kirk Cousins last night had rookie overall pick
- 54:06Speaker 3: Fernando Mendoza started, I don't want anyone comfortable in their jobs,
- 54:10Speaker 3: when Kubiak said Cousins has played just one drive into
- 54:13Speaker 3: two preseason games. All right, catching up on what has
- 54:16Speaker 3: happened here today, the practice is over, not a moment
- 54:20Speaker 3: too soon for the Seahawks and some of the guys.
- 54:23Speaker 6: They lost.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Three guys went out of practice, Jake Bobo, Abe Lucas,
- 54:26Speaker 3: Montory Foster at the very end. Two of them are
- 54:29Speaker 3: heat related, Foster and le Blucas and Jake Bobo not
- 54:33Speaker 3: heat related. It's a major knee injury. Puch Mike McDonald said,
- 54:37Speaker 3: initial test star, it could be a season ender.
- 54:40Speaker 5: Oh, I mean when they say initial, you know.
- 54:44Speaker 4: If he has further imaging going on, you know exactly
- 54:48Speaker 4: if he's allowed to make that kind of statement, yes, he.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Would not even it would be we'd have to let's see,
- 54:54Speaker 3: he's going to get more tests, but that means they've
- 54:57Speaker 3: done some lateral testing, some flex testing, and then he
- 55:00Speaker 3: just doesn't respond and that's.
- 55:03Speaker 5: Usually been there.
- 55:04Speaker 4: I can use my own experience when it comes to that,
- 55:07Speaker 4: and yeah, it sucks.
- 55:10Speaker 3: So Montory Foster Junior is likely to benefit from this.
- 55:14Speaker 3: That's a cold way of putting it, but that's where
- 55:15Speaker 3: the NFL is with the next man up, Foster unlikely
- 55:18Speaker 3: to make the roster entering training camp, is now squarely
- 55:21Speaker 3: in with the ones in the plan for the Seahawks,
- 55:23Speaker 3: especially with Jake Bobo likely out for the year. Foster's
- 55:26Speaker 3: going to be the number five receiver with Bobo's injury.
- 55:29Speaker 3: And he didn't do anything today, they would say, and
- 55:31Speaker 3: he's not gonna make the team. The play that he
- 55:33Speaker 3: left practice on, he made an amazing leaping catch on
- 55:36Speaker 3: the sideline. I thought the ball was going into the
- 55:38Speaker 3: parking lot and he reached up with one hand and
- 55:41Speaker 3: pulled it down and then landed and never got back
- 55:43Speaker 3: up and got said it was a heat injury, is
- 55:45Speaker 3: what Mike McDonald said. But you heard the players saying
- 55:47Speaker 3: wait to go and want Tory. I mean he's in there.
- 55:51Speaker 5: He's a star with the team.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and the difference I was telling some people about
- 55:56Speaker 3: Cason Williams. A lot of you remember the Skyline high
- 55:58Speaker 3: school University of Washington star who was a summer camp
- 56:00Speaker 3: star for the Seahawks year over year, yet would not
- 56:03Speaker 3: make the team and would end up on the practice squad.
- 56:06Speaker 3: The difference between Foster and and the reason why Cason
- 56:10Speaker 3: Williams wasn't making those teams as special teams because for
- 56:15Speaker 3: Montoy Foster is on all the teams. He's a gunner
- 56:18Speaker 3: who can replace Derek Young who signed with the Raiders
- 56:20Speaker 3: after last season. He can be a kick returner, he's
- 56:23Speaker 3: on the coverage teams, and that's something that Cason Williams
- 56:28Speaker 3: did not do and didn't have any experience doing, and
- 56:31Speaker 3: that's why he never made those Seahawks teams out of
- 56:33Speaker 3: the training camps that he was selling at wide receiver.
- 56:35Speaker 3: But Foster can play special teams and will and that's
- 56:38Speaker 3: going to be his path on the roster. So nothing
- 56:40Speaker 3: today saying that it will not be Montory Foster as
- 56:45Speaker 3: one of the fifty three guys on the team. Roster's
- 56:47Speaker 3: are to be the set on August thirtieth, two days
- 56:49Speaker 3: after the final preseason game, which is seven days from
- 56:51Speaker 3: today in Kansas City. The Jake Bobo injury clouding really
- 56:56Speaker 3: what was otherwise a pretty productive and positive practice for
- 56:59Speaker 3: the Seahawks. I will say that it was a pick six.
- 57:01Speaker 3: The Titans picked off one of their cornerbacks twenty four
- 57:04Speaker 3: picked off Sam Darnold in eleven on eleven, and you
- 57:08Speaker 3: would have thought the Titans won the Super Bowl and
- 57:10Speaker 3: they were going crazy. And Jeffrey Simmons was yapp in
- 57:15Speaker 3: the whole practice. I mean the time we came out here,
- 57:18Speaker 3: I thought maybe you could have heard him over our
- 57:20Speaker 3: microphones earlier in practice, and he was all over this
- 57:23Speaker 3: year because super Bowl champs. Blah blah blah, super Bowl champs. Huh,
- 57:28Speaker 3: that's what the whole practice. The Titans were using this
- 57:31Speaker 3: as their chance to get a shot at the champs.
- 57:33Speaker 3: The Seahawks were using this as another training camp practice
- 57:36Speaker 3: to get ready for the regular season. And the Titans
- 57:38Speaker 3: were tightening up, as they say here, tightened up, I
- 57:42Speaker 3: mean it. They were on it, and Simmons was NonStop,
- 57:46Speaker 3: and the Seahawks noticed, they mostly ignored him. There were
- 57:48Speaker 3: only a couple scrapes. There were no outright fights compared
- 57:51Speaker 3: to the last two summer joint practices. There was a
- 57:54Speaker 3: bigger fight last year in Green Bay between Ernest Jones
- 57:57Speaker 3: Devin Witherspoon and some guys for the Packers. I only
- 58:00Speaker 3: saw a couple of skirmishes and not much and it
- 58:03Speaker 3: ended pretty quickly, just a little pushing and so no
- 58:06Speaker 3: haymakers and no helmets thrown or anything like that. So
- 58:10Speaker 3: that was different a couple of years ago when Jamal
- 58:13Speaker 3: Adams was on the Titans and it was very contentious
- 58:15Speaker 3: and a lot of pushing and shoven After two years
- 58:18Speaker 3: ago here, not today. Nothing I noticed that was anything
- 58:21Speaker 3: like we've seen the Cowboys and Saints this week get
- 58:24Speaker 3: fined a half a million dollars each by the league four.
- 58:27Speaker 3: So for those wondering that all they do is fight
- 58:29Speaker 3: at joint practices today, is that was not the case
- 58:32Speaker 3: here in Nashville, and Jess when that makes it a
- 58:34Speaker 3: little more productive when you just thought separating fighters the
- 58:36Speaker 3: whole time.
- 58:37Speaker 5: Yeah, it does, and that's the whole point of it.
- 58:39Speaker 4: But I also do understand that aggression, like you're going
- 58:42Speaker 4: against your own teammates the whole time, and you come in,
- 58:46Speaker 4: you're in your best shape, you haven't hit anybody yet
- 58:49Speaker 4: you haven't, Yeah, because you're not going to do that
- 58:51Speaker 4: to your teammates. And so I do understand the aggression
- 58:56Speaker 4: that needs to get out, but I do appreciate.
- 58:58Speaker 5: The Seahawks into fights as well.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Yeah, they had enough going on, especially with the Jake
- 59:04Speaker 3: Bobo injury, but a damper in the whole practice.
- 59:06Speaker 5: Honestly, she's a locker room favorite, isn't.
- 59:09Speaker 3: McDonald went on and on about how special player he
- 59:13Speaker 3: is in that locker room and how much he's respected
- 59:16Speaker 3: in that locker room going into his fourth season after
- 59:18Speaker 3: he made it as an undrafted rookie. Sam Darnell was
- 59:20Speaker 3: talking to us after practice and he said it hurts.
- 59:24Speaker 3: He said that it hurt during practice, it hurt through
- 59:27Speaker 3: that and he said it was hard to continue practice.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Both teams came off the field and took a knee
- 59:32Speaker 3: around Bobo as the card came out and took him off,
- 59:35Speaker 3: and Mike McDonald said that Seahawks said a prayer for Bobo,
- 59:39Speaker 3: And I mean, it's it's the nature of this sport,
- 59:43Speaker 3: it's nature of professional athletes, it's professional sports in general.
- 59:46Speaker 3: But it reminds you the finality is and how guys
- 59:49Speaker 3: that want to get paid when they can get paid.
- 59:51Speaker 3: Bobo got paid.
- 59:52Speaker 5: I'm so glad you did.
- 59:54Speaker 4: Undrafted free agent who ran a four nine to nine
- 59:57Speaker 4: at the combine. You know, like he he was the underrated,
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: he was the one of one.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: He got his two year contract at the Seahawks match
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: with Jacksonville this offseason, so he is paid and that's thankful.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: He's recently married. But yeah, he's out for the season
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: with a major knee injury. Mike Banal says, they of
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: course expect him to come back and attack the rehab
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: and be back in twelve months, but that is no
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: sure thing. Anyone who's at an ECO, including Jessman, can
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: tell you that takes a while. What else I saw
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: today was noah Igbinoghany, the veteran cornerback, was the third
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: cornerback today, yet again above Neemiah Pritchett. I think that's
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: where they're heading now until Trevon Biggs can get ready.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: And McDonald talked about Digs afterwards, saying, Yep, we're trying
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: to ramp him up. It's going to be a while,
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: I think, I said, I think Diggs could be a
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: candidate to be released at the end of training camp
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: on the agreement that hey, can you come back to
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: the practice squad for us for a couple of weeks
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: will stash you there until you're ready to play football
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: in mid to late September. That may be the route
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: you end up seeing him going with Diggs. In the meantime,
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Monogny is now the third guy. He was playing outside
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: corner today with Witherspoon inside, and at times I saw Monogamy.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: The only time I saw him outside, in fact, was
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: on the second team defense, so with the first teamers
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: it was Ignogamy, excuse me inside. The only time I
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: saw Imanoghny inside was on the second team. On the
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: first team, iban Agne was outside and Wiersman was inside.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Josh job was the other outside corner for now. Looks
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: like that's where they're headed as the season begins, pending
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Trevon Diggs getting ready as a possible third cornerback. What
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: else I saw Jackson Smith and jab again featured by
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Sam Donald a long looping ball over his shoulder, a
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: perfect play over the same cornerback who picked off Sam
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Donald in the practice earlier for a touchdown. It was
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Josh Jones who came in at right tackle after Abe
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Lucas left midway through with a heat related issue. Oh
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: and the defensive player of the day was Tyo Katta,
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: the starting safety, came over into the left flat, picked
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: off a pass and went the other way with a
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: and Devin Witherspoon and his Buddi's all running down the
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: sideline with him and celebrating in front of the fans
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: in the end zone here at the Titans facility. And
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: Tyle Cotter was at the podium as we were just
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: beginning this segment, so he was one of the stars
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: of the practice. He's the replacement starter now for Kobe
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Bryant in the back safety position. Bud Clark remains firmly
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: as a number two deep safety on the second team
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: defense with some sub packaging in while Nick even Warry
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: still recovers. I saw even Warry working on the side
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: with a trainer on a resistance machine, but not in
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: practice uniform. Not any closer it appears to returning to practice.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: He has passed a physical. He was in spikes to
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: in cleats today, so that's an advancement on the flat
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: shoe work he's been doing recently, but nothing yet towards
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: practicing in the practice uniform or pads yet for Nick
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: even Worry and we have what sixteen days until the
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: first game. What is it no less than that? But no,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: September ninth, September, do the math September ninth, the first game.
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: Radio math never works good.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Now journalist math either? Only now is the sun getting
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: behind a cloud because the players are off the field?
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Of course. Yes, I haven't had a peek at the
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: text sign. I don't know what's on it. I don't
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: know if we have talkbacks, but we'll let you be
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: a part of the show. Next live from Nashville the
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Seahawks Titans Joint Practice, the only Seahawk media entity here
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: on radio or television, on ninety three point three kJ RFM.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: All right, I'm here with coach Michael McDonald, and I've
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: got to ask you, coach, what is it about this
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: cornerback room that has you looking for help elsewhere?
- 1:03:51Speaker 11: They've been telling me the things they're gonna do for me,
- 1:03:57Speaker 11: but I ain't plying, and I don't like what I
- 1:03:59Speaker 11: think I Are you pulling them off the streets?
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: Of pulling them off the streets?
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Holy catfish, it's the fish. Steve Well. Well, Hi there, friends, Hey, guessing,
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Hello there, Greg.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: I'm just calling to see if you can bring home.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: Some milk and she.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: Well, people are kind of picking up on the fact.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: Close listener, Yes, that's close listener for it's coming out
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: to Texas. Line here from Nashville in the joint practice.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: I love how people are in there. The climate of
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: the Pacific Northwest, the two oh six heat related. It's
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: only eighty nine with fifty four percent of humidity in
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Nashville right now, are you here, Chuck? Come on, man, Okay,
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: I don't care what it's it says on your app
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: on your mobile phone. It's freaking hot out here and
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: this direct sun and the players and the players in
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Seattle have not been used to this heat all year.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: It feels well above eighty nine or whatever your Apple
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: iPhone app says.
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: Yeah, come on, you only really know if you're there.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Yeah, get outside and do something with these guys. And
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: he had the condition they were. It was not a
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: Seattle Seahawks weather day. What your iPhones is.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and also they have been conditioned in a very different.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Man and Nashville shaking his echo. Yeah, it is hot.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: And he's been trained.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: He's been one of the coolest. He tells me. This
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: one of the coolest days they've had all summer. It
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: was like ninety eight degrees here a few days ago.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: So yeah, it's legitim warm here compared especially to Lake Washington.
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: Well, yeah, we get the beautiful breeze right off the shores.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: Four to five. Would have preferred twenty fights rather than
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: one injury, you know, So would the Seahawks. So would
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Mike McDonald for sure. Two five three. Who's that player,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: Who's the player that's going to make the team that's
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: going to surprise? All? Well, I guess Montory Foster is
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: not a surprise anymore.
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: Ahead, go ahead, No, I was.
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: I was gonna say like he was three weeks ago,
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: he would have been the surprise.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Now it's almost a fat of compleague that he makes,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: especially with the Jake Bobo injury. I've been having my
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: eye on Aiden Hubbard. He hasn't really flashed yet. These
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: two last two preseason games are really important for him.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: The undrafted rookie from Northwestern and the Big Ten. He
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: was an outside linebacker, edge rusher. He's the fifth all
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: time sack guy in Northwestern football history. And yet they
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: got him here and he put him right on the
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: defensive line. He's now a hand on the ground defensive lineman.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: He's actually playing positions like Leonard Williams. He's sometimes out
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: as an end, he's sometimes a five technique. I've seen
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: him as a three technique inside the guard as a tackle.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: But Aiden Hubbard's moving up and down the defensive line.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: He's got real opportunities Sunday night here in Nashville against
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: the Titans in the second preseason game and the third
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: preseason game next Friday in Kansas City. They'll give him
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: a long look. He played the second half against the Cowboys,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: but not all of it. He alternated in Aiden Hubbard.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: He's ninety three when you watch the game on Fox
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: thirteen on Sunday at five pm. But he needs to
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: make a move. I've been waiting for him to do it.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: He's in a position of need. They need depth of
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: the outside linebacker position. By the way, Derek Hall did
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: not participate in the joint practicing in today. He hasn't
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: been on the field in more than a week since
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: he left with a leg injury during a scrimmage. Mike
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: McDonald has been very vague and not talking much about it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: But it's been a week now plus. It was Uchenna
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: and Wolsu on his side at outside linebacker today, So
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: we'll say what Aiden Hubbard can do here in the
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: last two preseason games. A good point here from the
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: four to two five. Well, is Mike still a fan
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: of these joint practices after today? Mike McDonald because no
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: injury major injuries occurred at the vMac during regular training camp.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: And yes, we talked about this. This is Jessman I
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: think brought up this is the downside, the risk you
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: run of having joint practice against another team. But frankly,
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: this is the risk you run every time you put
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: cleats on and come out with a helmet. It is
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: it's the nature of the sport. Knees especially are not
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: made to do what a lot of these guys can
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: do cutting and strength and speed and explosiveness, and sometimes
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: it fails. And Bobo had a hamstring issue last week
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: and he just came back from I thought he was
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: limping through some of the practices. It looked like he
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: tweaked his hamstring early in the week in practices, but
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: he kept going. And they do, yes, they do, they
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: always do. And now he's out with what is a
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: major knee injury. Coach Mike McDonald says, but that's a
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: good point though. I mean, you could keep him in
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: a bubble and stay in renting, but that's not going
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: to make him better as a team. So that's why
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: they don't do that. For device is what a great
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: interview with Jared Reid. Appreciate that I've known Jared Reed
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: for going on ten years now, was here when they
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: first drafted him into the NFL, watched him grow from
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: a young player who got in legal trouble in Bellevue
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: when he was in his first go around early in
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: his tenure in the NFL, and then now a father,
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: a son, and a couple daughters. Heard him talk about
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: his son growing into a middle schooler into high schooler
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: and how that blows his mind. It's prety funny, he says.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: He brings his iPads to the games and does that
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: he's hanging out.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: He doesn't realize how cool it is. Yeah, exactly, he
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: was cool before it was cool.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: I guess two o six enough of the damn injury
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: report today, Greg, what the hell is going on over there? Well,
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: let me tell you a couple things about how the
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: sausage made one. I can't tell you every single thing
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: that goes on in practice because some of it is
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: restricted from live reporting, then we can report afterwards. But
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: there are the Titans themselves have restrictions on what they
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: can report, what media can report during the live access.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: The fact that they give me a tent in a
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: radio set up right at the edge of the field
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: means I have to abide by certain rules, and one
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: of them is you can't tell play by play or
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: real time descriptions of what's going out on the field.
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: So I can't so I can't say Darnal drops back
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: to pass, he's looking to throw, he throws over the
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: middle of.
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: Oh, that's literal play by play.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: I'm sorry two o six if that's what you two
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: did for, but I am just not allowed to do that.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: By the way, these you get credentialed by the teams,
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: and they control how that credential is used.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: And yes, and we are very lucky because that's why
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: you got to sit down with Jaron.
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: So I mean, and I'm not upset. I'm just answering
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: the question that you ask why I'm not giving a
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: literal play by PA.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: I just want people to understand the restrictions that come
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: with our jobs.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Four two five says, really, how many times should you
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: play the same interviews. Well, okay. The reason we'll let
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: you know. The reason why we ran the Foster interview
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: today is because the Titans said, if you set up
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: on the side of the field, you can't broadcast live.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: You have to be I said, okay, how about if
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: we run tape segments. So we ran tape segments so
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: that I could go out and do my first job
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: for the News Tribune and actually watch the practice and
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: see that probo got carted off, and see that a
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Lucas came off, and see that title Katta intercepted a
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: pass and ran it back for a touchdown. If I'm
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: sitting here live on the radio, I can't report for
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: the News Tribune, which is my first job. So we
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: ran a tape segment so I could watch twenty five
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: minutes of practice while you listened to that interview.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: Well, there was also a production element that came to that.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: When you suggested Montori, I was like, well, yeah, he's
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: becoming a bigger star for this team. There's a good
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: reason for you to hear from him if you hadn't
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: heard from him earlier, and we didn't run Mike McDonald
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: live when he did his press conference before they headed
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: off to Nashville, and he had a lot of really
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: pertinent information in that press conference.
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: So we're serving you, fans, We are serving you, and.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: I'm not being defensive. I'm answering these questions. I have
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: the same because they think it gives you an opportunity,
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: the listener, to understand why we do what we do.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: It's a unique situation here, be honest, because the other
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: KJR host our KGr host. Now Ian's also with the Kraken,
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: but in the crack and off season he's a KGr host.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: Softy is a KGr. Chuck is a KJR host. I'm
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: the Seahawks beat writer for the News Tribune that hosts
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: a show on KJR. So my first job and my
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: first responsibility, and frankly the people who pay me the most,
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: that's where I'm going to go to do. My primary
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: work is for the News Tribune.
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: And that's why I'm here for you.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, So just to let you know that's why you ran.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: We ran a tape segment. It was an agreement with
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: Titans PR for us to be able to broadcast live
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: on the side of the field that we don't broadcast
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: live during the practice that we run tape segments so
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: that we aren't in danger of depicting live from the field,
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: which the Titans radio network was prohibited from doing.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: So that's right, even the hometown team.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so that can't do it. Jo six says, I
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: missed the opening the Greg Bell Show. He offered his
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: thoughts to the MATC. Cowkins resignation. I did briefly yesterday,
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: but I'll address this. Matt's a great friend of mine.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: All eleven years that he's been at the Seattle Times
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: as a columnist, I've been with him. I've traveled with him.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: I once took a diverted flight to Minneapolis and drove
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: from Minneapolis to lambeau Field for a playoff game with him.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: And we've talked a lot about this particular issue as well.
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: And I will tell you that it took a love
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: for Matt to get to this point, and it was
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: multiple times that his stories have been spiked, and that
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: he acknowledged that yesterday. This wasn't the first time. And
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: I will also say that is a very contentious matter
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: when a newspaper censors, and or I won't say censor,
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: decides not to run a column of a columnist that
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: they hired to give an opinion represent the paper with
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: his own opinion. Now, I'm not going to get into
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: what the Times did and didn't do, whether it's right
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: or wrong. They were a competitor of mine at the
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: News Tribune.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: It just didn't seem like that was the first time
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: this has happened.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: And that was that. The thing what also caught my eye,
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: to be honest with you, is that the colin that
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: got spiked had a quote from a young woman, an
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: athlete in Washington who lost to track me to a
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: born male who was competing in a girl's event, and
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: he quoted her in that column. And that was the
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: same young lady who at the front row of the
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: storm game got berated by a co owner.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: Of the sort.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Yes with expert is and the WNBA ended up sanctioning
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: her and the team for that and that quote from
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: that There were quotes from that girl and Matt Conkin's column,
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: And when I found out that's what it was, that's
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: why I believe The Times didn't run it. And that
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: became a last straw for Matt Cockin. So I'm all
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: my best to him. He doesn't have anything else lined
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: up as he acknowledges today publicly, which is a gary
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: position to be in in journalism. What else on the
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: text line two six fifty four percent minutes enough to
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: get you swiitting most days, regardless of temperature. You should
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: be grateful, Yeah, grateful, great Seattle resident, seventy, Nashville resident
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: past three years. Trust me, this is cool compared to
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: what it's been like the last two months. Real Phil
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: of one hundred. My man, my man Kirby, My man
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Kirby next to me said it feels like one hundred
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: degrees right now in Nashville, Tennessee. That's I'm just telling you,
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: all right. Losing a player an injury sucks. Keth says
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: two five three, but it won't be the last one.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: And I believe the McDonald program won't miss a beat.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: More Jake Bobo and less cow and local commercials.
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: The two O six says.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: I heard six oh three. I heard Coach was listening
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: to this show, and I think they're gonna use clicker
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: boards of practice next week. Go Navy beat Army. I
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: only read that oft the obligation go Army beat Navy.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: Always there we go.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Okay, no more joint practices Mike from the two O
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: three said, I heard enough preseason games are enough. Go
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: Army beat Nateman there. That's well done, thank you two six.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: These open joint practices are a terrible idea of The
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: risk is way too high as measured as McDonald is.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: It surprises me he takes this risk the high likelyhood
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: of fights which were none of them today, and random
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: injuries due to players showing performative violence. There was none
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: of that today. To gain favor with the coaches is
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: adding pressure to the whole system that just isn't necessary.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: I understand that risk. I understand that. I also understand
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: that McDonald thinks ones versus one's in a controlled setting
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: is the best preseason preparation that his starters get and
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: it's better than uncontrolled preseason game of the defensive players
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: crashing into quarterbacks. Hey, I just want you know I'm
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: really not trying to be defensive to shooting anybody down
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: with these questions or why we run tape segments. I'm
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: just trying to explain to you, Jess when and I
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: do a lot of behind the scenes negotiating on how
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: to pull off these shows, especially in live settings. On
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: the side of practic this fit of another NFL team
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: setting in Nashville, Tennessee. So that's why I came up
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: that way Back in Seattle. Is Ian Furness, the mayor
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: in Maple Valley. He'll join us next to talk about
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: what's on his show twelve to three, and then we'll
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: get out of here so my man Kirby can get
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: back to the weeknd job in Nashville. He gave us
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: some gear that we borrowed to run the show today
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: up next to e In on ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: Welcome back here in Nashville, Tennessee. Greg Bell night off
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: the field of the Seahawks Titans joint practice. She's been
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: McIntyre back at the Eliot Bay Studios in Seattle, and
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: now we're joined by Ian Furnas, the mayor of Maple
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: Valley back in Seattle as well. Ho sir, hey man,
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: how are you wow? It sounds like you're at a casino.
- 1:16:59Speaker 12: Uh close some of the we're at George Brook. So yeah,
- 1:17:03Speaker 12: today's the day. The mayor IPA is on tap. There
- 1:17:06Speaker 12: are a handful the Catholic mafia is here, so we've
- 1:17:10Speaker 12: got them getting after it on a Friday already. We
- 1:17:12Speaker 12: got to Oday representative, we got Seattle Prep Representative.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: We got some guys from Columbia distributing behind me.
- 1:17:17Speaker 12: So yeah, it's uh, we're getting people trickling in here
- 1:17:19Speaker 12: at noon for for a little a fun party all
- 1:17:22Speaker 12: afternoon to raise money for some great causes with a
- 1:17:25Speaker 12: great beer.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: And there's a beer in your honor, can you describe it?
- 1:17:28Speaker 12: It's They call it the Mayor ipa and one hundred
- 1:17:32Speaker 12: percent of every pint growler to go, et cetera goes
- 1:17:37Speaker 12: to Helenski's Hope, Avery Huffman DIPG Foundation and the Jordan
- 1:17:40Speaker 12: Morris Foundation for Young people with Type one diabetes that
- 1:17:44Speaker 12: our local soccer star has founded. And we started this
- 1:17:49Speaker 12: back in twenty twenty when the pandemic hit. I have
- 1:17:53Speaker 12: the golf tournament every year, the Mayor of Maple Valley Open,
- 1:17:55Speaker 12: and we couldn't have it that year obviously because of
- 1:17:57Speaker 12: the pandemic. And the folks of Georgian have always supported
- 1:18:01Speaker 12: the golf tournament. And over a beer or two talking
- 1:18:05Speaker 12: one day, I think it was when they decided to
- 1:18:07Speaker 12: put Manny's in a can, we were talking about that
- 1:18:09Speaker 12: and somehow it came up and they said, well, we
- 1:18:11Speaker 12: should just brew a beer to help make up for
- 1:18:13Speaker 12: the money we're not going to make this year in
- 1:18:15Speaker 12: the golf tournament. So we did that, and they did
- 1:18:17Speaker 12: that in twenty twenty for us, and here we are
- 1:18:19Speaker 12: seven years later doing it again. So it's amazing. It's
- 1:18:21Speaker 12: an amazing thing. Generosity. George sounds amazing, So Manny and Roger,
- 1:18:25Speaker 12: the owners and everybody else here. So it's been fantastic to reiterate.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: They brew the beer for you and then they sell
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: it with none of the proceeds going back to them,
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: but all of it to your charity.
- 1:18:35Speaker 12: So that's the thing, like I hear all the time,
- 1:18:37Speaker 12: all a portion of the proceeds, there's no portion. So
- 1:18:41Speaker 12: the ingredients, the hops and everything that goes into the beer,
- 1:18:45Speaker 12: the labor, the electricity, the labor to fill the growlers,
- 1:18:51Speaker 12: everything goes right.
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: To the charities.
- 1:18:54Speaker 12: Wow, not one cent goes back to Georgetown. They donate
- 1:18:58Speaker 12: everything and they you know, over the years, they've done
- 1:19:00Speaker 12: a lot of different beers, greg like, they've they've done it.
- 1:19:04Speaker 12: You know, usually they do like a couple of charity
- 1:19:06Speaker 12: beers every couple months, every month, what have you. They've
- 1:19:09Speaker 12: had they've cut back a little bit on that, and
- 1:19:11Speaker 12: they've been a little more selective just to kind of
- 1:19:13Speaker 12: make it a bigger deal. They started with Bob's Brown
- 1:19:16Speaker 12: Ale years ago for Ronald McDonald house. They still do that,
- 1:19:18Speaker 12: but this one's I say this, and this has nothing to.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: Do with me.
- 1:19:23Speaker 12: I don't I drink the beer and I promote the beer.
- 1:19:25Speaker 12: I don't make anything with the beer has anything with
- 1:19:27Speaker 12: me or even the name. This beer sells out quicker
- 1:19:30Speaker 12: than any of the other ones that are limited release.
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: It's amazing.
- 1:19:32Speaker 12: It's a great beer, it's easy to drink, and and
- 1:19:35Speaker 12: it's become a big thing for our listeners and for
- 1:19:37Speaker 12: people all around the area, for beer lovers.
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: It's become a really big thing.
- 1:19:40Speaker 12: And we'll probably see it gone somewhere in time in
- 1:19:43Speaker 12: the next seven to ten days.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: Well, I can attest, I can attest it's easy to drink.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: Beer speaks very my friend.
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: Thanks, I appreciate what You're welcome.
- 1:19:56Speaker 12: What do you guys done today, Well, we're here at
- 1:19:58Speaker 12: the brewery. Can't have a bet Friday show that at
- 1:20:01Speaker 12: Georgetown Brewing. I don't think I do have water in
- 1:20:04Speaker 12: front of me right now.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: I did it.
- 1:20:05Speaker 12: I did taste test earlier, but I've got water in
- 1:20:07Speaker 12: front of me now for a while. We got a
- 1:20:09Speaker 12: lot coming up to you, obviously, the news for the
- 1:20:10Speaker 12: Mariners with a situation, Kat Anderson coming up. Danie O'Neil
- 1:20:14Speaker 12: is gonna join us in the one o'clock hour. We'll
- 1:20:16Speaker 12: check in with him at that point in time. Brendan
- 1:20:18Speaker 12: Huffin's gonna be by later on today. We've got Rob
- 1:20:21Speaker 12: rang on today. We'll hear a little bit from Jalen
- 1:20:23Speaker 12: Milroe today. So we got a busy show coming up today.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: Appreciate it. We look forward to listening to you from
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: Georgetown Brewer and has up to them, So go get
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: your mayor, I PA if you're any we're near Soto

- 1:20:38Speaker 3: be here again Monday to do the post second preseason game.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: We wrap it up and talk Monday morning from Nashville.
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: Thanks for listening, Thanks for texting talkbacks. Thanks to Jasmin
