Speaker 1: happening in your life today, you can trust that God

Speaker 1: wants to hear from you. Right after this short word

Speaker 1: from our sponsors, we'll pray today's prayer to seek out
• 0:30
Speaker 1: the Lord. A Prayer to Seek Out the Lord, written
• 0:51
Speaker 1: by Vivian Bricker, read by Carrie Eichberger. I sought the Lord,
• 0:58
Speaker 1: and He answered me. He delivered me from all my fears.
• 1:02
Speaker 1: Psalm 34, verse 4. Whenever we are going through a
• 1:08
Speaker 1: troublesome time, we tend to turn away from God. We
• 1:12
Speaker 1: think we can handle whatever life throws our way, but
• 1:16
Speaker 1: it is not true. We need to seek out God
• 1:19
Speaker 1: in our darkest moments because He is always there for us.
• 1:24
Speaker 1: Through any storm or struggle, God will never leave us.
• 1:28
Speaker 1: Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you.
• 1:32
Speaker 1: He believes in us even when we have given up ourselves.
• 1:36
Speaker 1: I learned this truth the hard way as I turned
• 1:39
Speaker 1: away from God when I was immensely struggling with my health.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: When I had to go to the hospital a while ago,
• 1:46
Speaker 1: I felt the furthest I have ever felt from God.
• 1:50
Speaker 1: While I felt closer to death than I ever have,
• 1:53
Speaker 1: I doubted God's presence with me. I saw everyone around
• 1:57
Speaker 1: me living happy, fulfilling lives, while I was struggling to
• 2:01
Speaker 1: even be discharged from the hospital. At this time, I
• 2:05
Speaker 1: was living with an undiagnosed autoimmune illness. Prior to being diagnosed,
• 2:10
Speaker 1: I only grew further from God until something had to give.
• 2:15
Speaker 1: On one gloomy dark night, I decided to talk to
• 2:18
Speaker 1: God in prayer. In this conversation, I poured out my
• 2:22
Speaker 1: heart to Him and my worries. I told Him I
• 2:25
Speaker 1: was terrified of what life was going to look like
• 2:28
Speaker 1: with a chronic illness. I had finally come to accept
• 2:31
Speaker 1: the truth that I would have these symptoms and pain
• 2:35
Speaker 1: for the rest of my life. And this acceptance is
• 2:38
Speaker 1: what has helped me to finally turn back to God.
• 2:41
Speaker 1: I trusted Him with my future. even though a future
• 2:45
Speaker 1: with an incurable illness wasn't what I wanted. God didn't
• 2:49
Speaker 1: cause me to develop an autoimmune illness. However, He could
• 2:53
Speaker 1: help me as I faced this illness for the rest
• 2:56
Speaker 1: of my life. Flash forward to the present day, I'm
• 3:00
Speaker 1: glad I sought out the Lord and found strength in
• 3:03
Speaker 1: His presence. There will be times when all will turn
• 3:07
Speaker 1: away from God, but what matters is returning to Him.
• 3:11
Speaker 1: The Bible tells us, I sought the Lord and he
• 3:14
Speaker 1: answered me. He delivered me from all my fears. David
• 3:19
Speaker 1: penned these words while he was pretending to be insane
• 3:22
Speaker 1: before Abimelech. He was afraid for his safety, yet he
• 3:26
Speaker 1: still found solace in God. Just as God delivered David
• 3:31
Speaker 1: from all his fears, he also will deliver us through
• 3:35
Speaker 1: all our fears. The first step is seeking him out.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: While we won't always be able to avoid fear, we
• 3:43
Speaker 1: can fight it With God's help, He can help us
• 3:47
Speaker 1: to stand strong when we are afraid and to face
• 3:50
Speaker 1: our fears with confidence. Think about what you need to
• 3:53
Speaker 1: do today. Do you need to seek out the Lord today?
• 3:58
Speaker 1: He is our amazing Savior, and He wants to be
• 4:01
Speaker 1: sought out. God is not far from any of us.
• 4:05
Speaker 1: Seeking out God means going to the Bible. All Scripture
• 4:10
Speaker 1: is profitable for teaching, training, and correcting. The Bible is
• 4:15
Speaker 1: God's main way of communicating with us. Actively reading the
• 4:19
Speaker 1: Bible every day and going to Him in prayer will
• 4:22
Speaker 1: deepen our relationship with Him. God can also be sought
• 4:26
Speaker 1: through worship and praise. Making music to the Lord, such
• 4:30
Speaker 1: as singing or playing an instrument, can be a way
• 4:33
Speaker 1: to connect with Him. Reading a devotional, listening to a sermon,
• 4:38
Speaker 1: or talking with a spiritual mentor could also be ways
• 4:41
Speaker 1: to seek God out in your life. Seek Him out today,
• 4:45
Speaker 1: and you will find Him when you search for Him
• 4:48
Speaker 1: with all your heart. Let's pray. Dear God, I'm choosing
• 4:53
Speaker 1: to seek You out today. I've turned away from You
• 4:56
Speaker 1: for too long. I will never do this again. Turn
• 5:00
Speaker 1: my eyes and my heart to You always, God. I
• 5:03
Speaker 1: don't want to live in the shadow of my doubts,
• 5:06
Speaker 1: but rather to live in the freedom of Your love.
• 5:10
Speaker 1: Help me to rely on what I know rather than
• 5:12
Speaker 1: how I feel. My feelings tend to change so much,
• 5:16
Speaker 1: and they are not reliable. I trust in you to
• 5:20
Speaker 1: deliver me from all my fears. I will seek you
• 5:24
Speaker 1: out always, God. In your son's name I pray. Amen.
