Transcript
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: Hi guys, welcome back to Skincare Anarchy.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: I am so excited about our interview today and our episode because this is a brand that I have been obsessed with for a while now.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: And you must have seen them all over our topics.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: I think literally in every single deck, we had one product by them because that's how much we love them here at Skincare Anarchy.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: And I'm just so excited because this episode has actually been a long time in the making.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: So without further ado, I would love to introduce you guys uh to the founder of Kinship Skincare, uh, Kristen.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Uh Kristen Powell is here with us, co-founder and CEO.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the show, Kristen.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Dr.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Edkind.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Really excited to be here.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I am obsessed with skin and talking beauty, and you're the person, perfect person to talk to.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So really excited to dig in.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm so excited.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: And I love your brand, like I said.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: And you know, it really truly comes from the heart because I, you know, I see so many brands, and I think a lot of us do as consumers.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: And very rarely is it that a brand is hitting home on so many different products, you know.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: So I can't wait to learn all about it, Kristen.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: But I want to learn about you first and really kind of dive into your background and what led to the creation of kinship.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I have been uh studying skin for the last 20 years.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Um, I started getting fascinated with skin in my teen years, had had my own skin issues, I had acne, sensitive skin, um, and just really doing my own trial and error to really kind of heal myself.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And so that led me to basically diving into everything from ingredients to how skincare formulations come together, to what was going on in my diet, uh, what kind of stress was influencing my skin issues.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: And I loved it so much, I decided to make it my career.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: So my fascinating fascination with formulation ended up in co-founding Juice Beauty, which was the first organic skincare brand to hit the prestige market.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: This is when Clean wasn't really on the map yet.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And after Juice Beauty, I headed over to Paracone MD as head of product development, studied directly underneath Nicholas Pericone, which was such an amazing experience.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: There, I really got to deepen my knowledge of skin and clinical formulations.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: And um then I launched Kinship in late 2019.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I love Paracone, by the way.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: That was, I think it was one of my first brands that I ever used.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: So that's really cool.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: That's really cool.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, it's been a great trajectory.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm really excited about where the industry is today and the exciting positive momentum we have.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: I think it's changing in for the positive, and we're excited to be part of that change.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: And I think your products really speak to so many demographics.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know that the packaging is amazing.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: It's so fun and poppy, and I love that.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: But it's like the real heavy, heavy-hitting formulas, like they really speak to so many different age groups, different skin concerns, you know.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: And I think that's so rare for a brand, you know.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Like right now, I feel like we're living in this like era of, you know, we have brands that are meant for, you know, such and such people in whatever age bracket, or if you're like looking for post-procedure, you know, skincare, whatnot.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: But it rarely is there a brand that I come across where I'm like, yeah, I can recommend this to, you know, like teenagers or even adult, you know, my age or even older.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: You know, it's a really, really nice range that you have.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: So I'm very fascinated, you know, from that perspective.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: And I would really like to ask you like, what was the true like inspo behind um maybe your first few uh SKUs, you know, if you could walk us through that?
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Well, we started kinship to give more people access to science-fact products that were really dedicated to skin wellness.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: And with my background with 20 years of studying skincare science and formulations and truly like what makes bright, healthy, glowy skin from the inside out and the outside in, we really decided to focus on the skin barrier and particularly the microbiome.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Um, because I believe that the microbiome is kind of like that foundation for the house.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: So if you don't have a strong microbiome, everything that you do to your skin is not going to be received well.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: You have to have that strong microbiome, the strong skin barrier, because that is the that is the basics.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Those are the just like getting that right is simple, but not so simple.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Um, and if if that is unsteady, then you're gonna have a range of issues from sensitivity to redness, acne, and even the influence of how our skin ages.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: And we believe that clean skincare shouldn't be a luxury.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Everyone really deserves healthy skin.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: So we decided to focus our range on a few, fewer rather than larger amount of SKUs that were accessible.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: So accessible in price, accessible in packaging, um, not so serious, but skincare should be enjoyable.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: We felt like these this core regimen should work, it should be enjoyable, it shouldn't break the bank, and you should look forward to using it at the end of the day.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: So we we purposely kind of put like clinical formulation in there that spoke to the microbiome with probiotics, for instance.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: We have a probiotic technology in every single product that kind of acts like a like a defense mechanism.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So to keep out the bad bacteria and kind of hold in and nurture the good bacteria.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: We call it the bouncer for your skin.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love that.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: That's sort of the basis of every single product, and it's used at a clinically studied active level.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: So there are double wine studies that are behind this particular patented ingredient.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: And then we complement that with other active ingredients like vitamin C ester, uh, retinaldehyde, um, glycolic acid, lactic acid.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Um, certain superfoods I love are turmeric and chaga mushroom that are adaptogens that also help with antioxidant activity.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: All of those are important for the skin barrier.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Um, so it's sort of a symphony of ingredients, but we start with that probiotic focus and then we build from there.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I I it's interesting to me because I think um, you know, with the microbiome, we have so much like, you know, uh vocabulary, right, right now in the industry in terms of everyone wants to say they work with the microbiome, but it's always my question, which you actually really, you know, beautifully answered was this idea of like, you know, well, what about the microbiome?
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: And I think when you hone in on one area, it helps a lot, you know, for consumers as well.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Because I think, you know, like everything, um, you know, people love saturating our market.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: You know, we we deal with, you know, these buzzwords in the industry.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: But then when you talk about the microbiome, probiotics is a really great approach.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's it's literally like you said, it's your defense, you know, you're really adding that extra layer of defense.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: And it's something I think all of us can resonate with as consumers because it doesn't matter where you are in your journey, you always need good probiotics.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: You know, you always need that.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: That's something that can be incorporated into your routine, you know, it's it's not something that you have to start like at a specific uh place, you know what I mean, in terms of like physiology is concerned.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's really cool.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and if you start in your 20s um with this knowledge of just like in your gut, the microbiome is changing with hormones, with the environment, with your diet.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: If you start with this knowledge of just keeping that skin barrier intact, your skin will stay up, stay healthier longer and prevent those signs of aging that we all want to delay but are inevitable.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Um, it's an incredible time we're living in where a 20-year-old can learn about this technology and incorporate it into their daily life and really start to have different skin and a different, you know, experience of skin aging.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: It's it's fascinating.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: I think a lot, and you know, just to add to what you said, I know a lot of people say, you know, you know, start early with SPF, and I agree with them, of course, but it's also these other components, right?
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, you want to get the most healthy product, you know, the things that are gonna keep your skin the healthiest, is my point, you know, and I think a lot more goes into that.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: So I love that you guys have that built into the DNA of your brand.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: You know, that's huge to me.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: So that, you know, because a lot of times, as you know, you know, there's so many products, right?
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: And they're just stripping your skin, they're stripping away everything, you know, and it's like you don't realize that even if you're 20, say 20 years old, right?
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: And you're doing skincare, you're following a routine, you're on top of it, you might be using products that are actually damaging your skin barrier because you think you're doing the right thing, but you're not, you know, you're you're just stripping it away and damaging it.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's huge.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like you know, processed food for the gut.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: We know we know that that causes issues for our health.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: When you're stripping away your skin barrier, it is kind of like using processed food or processed food on your skin to um weaken it.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And if you're really using high-quality products, like high quality, high efficacy products, you're gonna really keep the health and the integrity of your skin for a long time.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Now, I want to ask you, you know, what were some of the um like disruptive uh, you know, factors of the brand um, you know, in in the industry?
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: Because I know that, you know, right now, because of how saturated things are, the brands that really stand out, you know, like kinship, like you guys are really disrupting the space, you know, in a great way.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: And I I would love to hear from you, you know, what were some of those factors?
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there were there were several.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: So when we started Kinship, it was late 2019.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: So um there was a lot going on in the world at that point, and a lot was shifting.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: It was, it was really our inspiration came from our audience.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: We had an audience of about 100 people that we had just started talking to about beauty and what beauty means to them and what they wanted to see in the industry.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: It was both men and women, ages 18 to 30, all around the country.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: We just, my partner and I, Allison, just started talking to them.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: So, what do you, what's missing?
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: And they said, you know, the ads are not diverse.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Um, they're talking about perfection, they're photoshopped.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Um, the the industry doesn't reflect what's actually happening with people in the in the in society.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: And so we needed to change that.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: And inclusivity and the perspective of all people was at the core of why we started kinship.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: And we believe that we're all connected and we should be including everyone when we create products.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: So part of it was making sure that we include all people, all genders, um, all diverse backgrounds in the audience for who we're creating these products for.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: The second one was just accessibility.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: We don't believe you should have to spend$100 on a face cream.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: At Kinship, we really wanted to bring this amazing probiotic science to more people, uh, which is why when we launched, we partner with Ulta Beauty as our first retail partner, because Ulta has such a diversity of customers.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Um, and it it offers, you know, the mass and the prestige.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: And so you really get the whole gamut of people shopping there.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: We really love that about Ulta.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the third thing was just we felt like skincare, there's a lack of joy in what's still, I feel like what's happening in skincare is it's so serious.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: And we were really trying to bring optimism into the space.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: And skincare, we believe, should be like food, should look forward to enjoying your skincare routine.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to be scentless, it can have natural botanical scents that are good for the skin that actually add antioxidant benefits for the skin, but they can smell good and lift your mood at the same time.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: So for that reason, we actually put botanical scents in our products.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: So we use some vanilla, we use some mango, apricot, we use a little bit of mint in the right amounts, you know, just a little bit just to give you that little bit of a hint of um something to affect your mood.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: So it was really about feeling good rather than looking good.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: And I I see this positive shift happening in the industry that people are moving towards that it's less about perfection and fixing problems and more about just feeling good in your skin.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: Can you can you hear me?
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Okay, I didn't hear.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: And you cut out there last in the end, so I'll edit that part.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: But that's yeah, that makes sense.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Um, so I want to I want to shift gears, Kristen, because I want to ask you, you know, what were some of your um or have been some of your best sellers so far?
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Because I know I love the brand, you know, all around.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: I really do.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, like I said, every product hits home for me.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: Um, I think it's something I can tell by your formulations, you guys have really thought this out in terms of how much of what you're using, and because you see results, you know, that's the bottom line.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: It's like when you use the products, and this for everyone listening, you know, when you're using um this is one of those lines where I would recommend like a whole routine by one line.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: That's that's how much I love you guys.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, because I usually I'm a huge mixing and matching kind of person.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: So, like, you know, but with your line, I really love it because I can use the cleanser, I can use the moisturizer and serums, and it's a really, really great lineup that you have.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: But I I would love to hear what people have been loving and you know, um, what your best sellers have been so far.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's so interesting.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: So when we first launched Kinship, we were gonna start with five products: a cleanser, uh, exfoliating pads, um, a moisturizer, um, a mask.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: Um, those are the those are the couple, a couple of the few products that we want to start with.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: We weren't gonna launch a sunscreen, and then about you know, six months into developing, I thought, what how can we launch a skincare line without launching a sunscreen?
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, that is probably the most important product you can use to protect your skin from environmental aging.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And uh the reason I was hesitating is because they're really hard to formulate.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: It's it's hard to formulate a good one, they're expensive, they require a lot of testing.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Uh, but we dove in, we decided this is essential for great skin, especially if you're in your teens or 20s.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: And that product, which took two years to develop, it's called self-reflect, our probiotic zinc oxide mineral spf32, is our best-selling product.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: I love that sunscreen.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know, I know why you're selling out of that.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it was the some of the complaints we heard from customers were sunscreen, zinc oxide is sticky, it's white, it is tacky, doesn't smell good.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: We had to solve all those things.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: So it was like 20 different rounds of formulations.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: And I work with five different chemists and got you know so many different rounds of feedback with our uh audience to get it right, but we finally launched it, and it's it's by far like the best seller in our in our category, the best-selling sunscreen in our retail stores, and it just continues to soar.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: It's it's one of those iconic products that primes, it glows, it leaves sort of a radiant finish, it protects the skin barrier, and and then it has that UVA UVB SPF 32 in it, which is you know protects you from 97% of rays.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: So that's one of our best sellers.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: And then this year we've seen the rise of our Brightwave franchise.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: So we launched a Brightwave Vitamin C brightening and energizing eye cream last year, and it has just tripled in sales.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: We can't keep it in stock.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Um, it is a favorite of our influencer community.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: What's so great about it is it basically you put it on and have you tried the product yet?
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Yes, I love it.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: It's a really great one.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Uh uh, yeah, I was gonna wait till your you explain it because there's another one I wanted to add in.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: So it has three different key ingredients.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: The first is vitamin C ester, which I love.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: It's the fat-soluble vitamin C that really goes into the skin cells and acts as an antioxidant, super antioxidant.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And then it has uh a really great ingredient in there that's formed from red algae.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And this particular ingredient helps to temporarily sort of like deflect and diffuse lines.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: So it acts like kind of a soft, soft focus diffuser for any kind of imperfections, whether it's dark spots or fine lines or um puffiness, it kind of immediately diffuses that.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: And then chaga mushroom, which is I'm really into mushrooms, this one is a power adaptogen.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: So it helps your skin adapt to stress.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: And as you know, the eye area is one of the first areas you see aging.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: And so we need specifically specific attention around the eye area to keep it looking really healthy and bouncy and bright.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: And so this combination of vitamin C with the algae, with the chaga mushroom, and this peachy color that kind of instantly conceals and it kind of dark circles, it's like a concealer, but it's a high treatment darker.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so that one is taking off.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: And then we recently this year launched a bright wave vitamin C serum with a peptide in it.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: So it has the bright wave technology with vitamin C, ester, the algae, and then we have a peptide in there that's a matrixyl peptide that works on different layers of collagen.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: And that one, we're so excited.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: We're gonna announce an award in a couple of weeks.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: It's a pretty big award for that product.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Uh, that one is really taking off too.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: It's number two already at our retail partners and quickly becoming a top seller.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: Well, I love that.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: That's so cool.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I love the eye cream.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: I want, I didn't want to interrupt you, but I really, really love the eye cream as well.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: I think it's a really great product.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: And again, it's great for every age.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: That's another, you know, it keeps happening in the line.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's meant for everybody.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And I think with eye creams, especially, you know, you see it usually um we start using eye creams, you know, as we get older, right?
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, you see it in the demographic, like in my demographic age, age, you know, range, you see it.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, people in their 30s, late 20s, we start using eye creams, but really, even if you're younger, you can start using the you know, that product, like every other product, I think, and you will start really protecting yourself, you know, for the long run.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: And I I love it, you know.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: I think every single one, I haven't tried your serum yet, but I'm very curious, you know, sure it's a huge heavy hitter as well.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: But I wanted to add in actually my one of my favorite products, and I was wondering if this one is as popular with your customers, but uh the insta swipe, like the lemon and honey HA pads, I'm I can I can use these pads every day, and it doesn't matter like what condition my skin is.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Like, I've I had breakouts actually.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: I recently moved um, you know, for a little bit to Virginia, you know, just because I'm doing some work.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: And um the humidity is insane in Virginia, you know, compared to the north.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: And I was like, gosh, my skin is freaking out, you know.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: What do I do?
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: How do I fix this?
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: And you know, we all have that, we all like move climates or something happens, and you have these breakouts, you can't get rid of them, right?
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: So I was experiencing that, and I bust these out, and I'm like, I'm gonna use these pads, like let's give it a go.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: And I kid you not, and in two days, my skin was not only cleared, but it was absolutely glowing.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Like I was obsessed.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: I was like, this is phenomenal, like these are really great.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: And the best part is I didn't get sensitivity, no sensitivity.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: I usually get that with peel pads, like where it's like, oh gosh, I can't use it.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: But that's fantastic.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm gonna have to have you write a review on our our lovekinship.com.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Fantastic testimonial.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: I love that you mentioned that product because it's one of my favorite daily go-to's.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: I use it on my declete, I use it on spots.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can like kind of has that little nubbiness on one side of the pad, and you can kind of like rub it a little bit heavier if you have like some sun damage on any part of your cheeks.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: I have sun damage on the left side of my face, and I specifically focus that insta-swipe pad on the left side.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: And within a couple of weeks, you really see the spots starting to fade.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: And the best part about it is you said it, you don't get irritated.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you don't get irritated.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: And you know, I think the the coolest part is that because I am, you know, I I'm a woman of color, you know, what we deal with is hyperpigmentation.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: That's our number one concern.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: And like for me, with acne, it's always something on my radar.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: You know, even when I'm about to have a breakout, I'm prepping my skin.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: For the hyperpigmentation.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: That's how I am as a consumer.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: And I found that with these pads, the clearing of my acne, adult acne, it didn't leave anything behind.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: You know, it didn't leave any hyperpigmentation, any dark spots, nothing there, you know.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: And I was so, so excited to.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: See that because that's rare.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: And you know, a lot of times for people and in the audience, if you guys can relate to this, you know, like we don't really know what's gonna happen after a breakout.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: You know, sometimes they're great, things go great, everything clears up, but sometimes it's a really tough journey, and that's what I was scared about, you know what I mean?
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Because I'm like, I'm in a new climate, I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: And I was using this product and I was like so blown away.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: So I just wanted to say it because you know, for everyone listening, if you are looking for even more things to try, you know, this is a really, really great product.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: I I love it.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: So yeah, and it is that great product for whether you're 18 or 60, it works, and that's the thing about the skin barrier is everyone at any age, it's never too late to start protecting your skin barrier.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: There's there's always a chance to start start protecting it and start improving your skin.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: And just a little bit of exfoliation, like with the insta swipe pads every day, is really helping that cell turnover and helping that microbiome stay balanced.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: So I I love that you love that product and that you kind of spotlighted it because it's one of my favorites too.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: No, it's it's and you made a great point.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: You know, I think it's really about, you know, for me, I look at skincare now as like tools, you know, these are tools for you.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of consumers are, you know, they're taking that turn, you know, where it's becoming less of a vanity thing and it's becoming more of this like, okay, I'm taking care of myself, you know, this is a health thing for me.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Um, I have heard a lot of people say that.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: And I think that's a beautiful place for us to come to as consumers, um, where we start to realizing, you know, the skin is our largest organ, it's a very dynamic organ, it's hard to take care of, you know, why not start early?
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Like that's a huge like accomplishment, I think, for an industry, you know.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: So now that we are making that turn and taking that step forward, it's really important to have baseline products.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: You know, that's my I feel like for me, as I age, that is my go-to now is like, what are my baseline products?
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: What can I turn to day in and day out?
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: Take with me when I'm traveling, take with me wherever I go.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: And like, you know, the that's why I think you guys speak to me so much as a brand, because I can rely on your products at the end of the day.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: And I remember, you know, when you were talking about the the wonderful STF you guys have, the self-reflect, the probiotic moisturizing mineral sunscreen.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: That is a great, great product.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, I literally don't use primer, right?
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Me personally, not a primer person.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: I can't do it.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: It just feels too sticky for me under my makeup.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: But this is a great solution.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: Like it's the best primer.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, you have your sunscreen and it's working to actually hold your makeup.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: And I love it for that because I don't wear a lot of makeup, but when I do, it's like it stays in place, it looks wonderful, and there's no white cast, which is huge because we all know, you know what I mean?
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean that's so interesting.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: And I remember one time when I was talking to Dr.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: Perica, and he said the best skincare, the best makeup is having great skin.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: And that stuck with me so strongly because your skin will shine through.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: You won't need a lot of makeup if you have great skin.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: And we formulated self-reflex specifically without silicones, one, because they can be allergenic for some people, two, because we don't like the uh what they're doing to the environment.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: But it's pretty phenomenal that the technology now to replace silicones is so advanced, and you could have a product that feels as silky and slippery as a silicone-based primer, but without the silicone in there.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: No, I I love that.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: I love that you don't have silicone in there because I've never loved, I've never loved a product that had silicone, to be honest.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Even like before we had the whole movement, you know, in the beauty industry where people were like, you know, no silicones.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: Even before that, I remember I was never a consumer that was like gravitating toward towards those products.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: So it's happy, it's a happy time for me.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm glad to see them kind of, you know.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I'm there too.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: We we we were in the same boat there.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: I'm really happy to see silicones hopefully take a back step because they're cheap ingredients.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: People use them for fillers, and there's really great ingredients like coconut alkanes that can replace silicones that aren't poor clogging.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: That's a beautiful replacement.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: So I really encourage everyone out there to try and look for silicone-free products because they do exist and they don't cause breakouts and they're beautiful, beautiful aesthetically.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: No, I I think that we're definitely there's gonna be a lot of changes, I think, coming up, you know, in terms of like how consumers are starting to like their baseline, you know what I mean?
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Like, what am I really shopping for at this point?
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: And I think silicone, certain, you know, preservatives, certain things are just gonna be gone, you know.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: We're gonna we're gonna have a great place where the industry is no longer even, you know, entertaining these things because you don't need them.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: You don't.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, at the end of the day, you can make great products without certain ingredients, and uh, if you can do it, why even have the other option?
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: It's not necessary.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: So exactly.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: But I'm gonna ask, I'm sorry, go ahead.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, I was just gonna say, I think the other piece that is on my mind with that is just the sustainability of just having, you know, fewer but more quality products.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: I think I see that as a shift happening, and people are thinking about just less products but higher quality.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: If you have higher quality products, you don't need all these other products to fix what the low quality products are doing.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Um, I see that as a positive trend.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: And I see brands just minimizing the product launches.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: It used to be, oh, let's do 10 product launches this year.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: And it's like, no, let's just do two.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: Focus on making them bigger and better and really explaining the technology and providing that transparency of ingredients, I think is going to be really important for brands and consumers.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: And I think, you know, like just to add to that, I think it's also on this like multi-use thing, right?
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, you have to have products that are, they're doubling up, you know, as two different types of products.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Like, for example, you know, another one of your products, I I forget the exact name, but it's your wonderful um gel moisturizer.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: It's a hydrating gel moisturizer.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Um, it's in the blue, it's a blue jar, and I love it.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: It's absolutely one of my favorite summer moisturizers because I can use it as a night mask as well.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: And I, it's like my little like uh experiment that I did with it one night.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: I remember um, you know, because I love masks.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like an overnight mask person, and I think they're really great.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: I think anything can really turn into an overnight mask if you do it properly.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: But like I think it's it's hard to find um truly hydrating, you know, products that are genuinely doing what they're saying.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: And especially as you age, your skin gets so much drier.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: I know a lot of us can relate to that.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: You know, I know for me, I never thought I'd have drier skin.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: You know, I was always oily skin in my teens, my early 20s, and then I hit my 30s, and all of a sudden I have these dry patches and there's just new problems.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: And for me, overnight masks have been like revolutionary, you know, for my skin.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: And so a lot of times I do this fun hack where it's like, if I really love a moisturizer, I will just double up on it, you know.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: So it kind of adds to what you were saying because like you are creating products that can be used, they're non-cometogenic, they're hypoallergenic, you know what I mean?
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: They're not causing problems.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: So you can use more of it to double up as some another, like I guess, category of product because they're safe for you, you know?
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: And so I think that's the key because you can make a great product, but you have to be able to make it so that then they can be utilized in all different ways, you know.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: And I think that's where I see like the really great brands stand out, you know what I mean?
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: From the floff.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: Because if you're selling me an$80 eye cream and all I can do is use it as an eye cream, I'm not gonna buy your product.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: There's no way, you know what I mean?
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: That's I'm not gonna do it because at the end of the day, I don't want, I don't have the$80, first of all, you know, to just flip frivolously throw away like that.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: But also more importantly, there's just a lot better options right now.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: So I think that's where you guys are just you hit it, you hit home for me, you know, as a brand.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: I I love that duality in your products where it's like, yes, I can utilize these products day in and day out for so many different reasons, and they work, you know, at the end of the day, they just work.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I'm huge.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: I love that you said that because uh the other thing that is precious to all of us is time.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Many of us don't have time to be using a separate, you know, plumping cream for their eyes, and then a separate lime smoothing cream, and then another primer for their eyes, and then a sunscreen for their eyes.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: No one has time for that.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: Um, we're all stretched for time, yet we want it to be a meaningful experience.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: And so kinship really brings in those multi-purpose needs that people have.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: We're in one product, like the Supermella, which is also a rising bestseller, it's a hydrator, it has a little bit of oil in it, so it's partially a cream.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: It can be a mask when you're going a flight or you're just feeling dry or you're in a climate that's dry, um, but it also has antioxidants in it.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: So I don't think that this layering of eight different products is really the future.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: I think it's about fewer, better multi-product, multi-purpose products.
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: I think, yeah, that's definitely the it's the next frontier, you know, for lack of a better uh phrase.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's it we have to get to that point because, you know, I think the science supports it too, you know, and that that actually leads me to asking you, you know, I know you guys are huge on efficacy, and you know, I really want to learn more about that because I think it's good for consumers to know, you know, hearing it from the brand directly, like, you know, what is it that you like what what in your mind is efficacy?
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Because I I'm a firm believer that it it's different for all of us, you know what I mean?
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: We define it so differently.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: So when brands do that homework, it's even more meaningful.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: So I'd love to learn from you, you know, what what does that mean for you guys?
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, and my my perspective of efficacy has shifted over the years.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Um, I first and foremost, efficacy to us is the product has to deliver what it says it's delivering.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: And in order to back that up, you have to have testing.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: And so the first thing we do is clinical testing on every single product before we start to put together the copy on the packaging or the website, has to have clinical testing.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: We do the objective as well as the subjective test, just so that we're actually doing the measurements and using a third party to evaluate the efficacy, not an internal team.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: So we do clinical testing on every single product.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: We also tested on a group of about 50 to 100, what we call our Kin Circle.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: And it's a group of trusted, close brand ambassadors that have been with us since 2019 and they test products before we launch them.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: And they'll they'll comment on whether it works for them, they'll send us before and afters, they'll comment on the scent, the texture, you know, whether they feel like this is adding value to their routine or not.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: We ask them those point-blank questions.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Is this really adding value?
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Because if it's not, we're not going to launch this.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: It's it's a lot of time and money and effort, and we want to make sure that products hit home with people and aren't just adding another step just because it's a trend.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: So testing is number one.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Um, we do irritation testing.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: We we go above and beyond on the testing because of that transparency and how important it is to us to know what we're delivering to our customers is of quality and of high value.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: But the second part of it is is it really effective for the for the global, you know, kind of planet?
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: Um, and most of packaging today, unfortunately, is is not sustainable.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a lot of plastic, and that most of that plastic is not recyclable.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: And so when we develop a product, we actually think about the whole thing from the formula to the experience to the package.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: And for us, the packaging has to be effective too.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: It number one, it has to work, it has to be compatible with the formula, but how is it working for the planet?
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: Can you recycle it?
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: Is it reducing carbon emissions because we're putting recyclable plastic in it?
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: Is it biodegradable?
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: Um, can you return it to us so that we can put it into our recycling program?
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: We think about all those things before we launch a product because that whole life cycle of a product is really important for us to think about as beauty entrepreneurs and founders of what we're adding to the planet.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: And are we being conscious of where that package is going at the end of its life?
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: So those are kind of like it's kind of shifted for me over the years because it used to be just let's just put it in this package.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: It's all about the formula.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Now it's about the whole thing.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: It's just about where the product ends up.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: How are we taking care of the planet?
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: And are we really enjoying these products and really getting value, personal wellness value out of them?
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: And I think, you know, it's interesting what you said because about the, you know, it used to be like all about the formula, right?
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was for so many people, even consumers.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: I think we were always just like formula, formula, you know, that's it.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: And but now, even, you know, I have never been like a super, you know, um, I obviously I recycle and, you know, I do the, I do what I have to do as a as an everyday human being, you know, to take care of my own footprint.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: But like I think we don't, we haven't thought about it as much as we are now as people.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: And I think when a brand does that homework for you, where they're doing as much as they can from their end, like you're in a way you're paying for that.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: You know, you pay for that also and built into a price because I would, you know, I think of it like that as a consumer, where I'm like, if a brand is helping me create a more sustainable lifestyle overall, you know, my decisions are made easier and all that, like that to me matters.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: Like I will go the extra mile to get that brand versus another because I know that they're helping me make the right choice, you know, in the in an overall viewpoint.
- 36:40SPEAKER_01: And I think that's it's interesting to look at it like that for me as a consumer, because I think it adds value, you know, it adds a lot of value.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: It's it's more about, you know, what I mean, obviously we want brands that are efficacious.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, number one, you know, for me, obviously, uh, you know, it's it's are your products working or not?
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: But then on top of it, can I resonate with you, you know, as a person, as a human being?
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: Like that matters.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: And it's like nowadays, like, you know, I'm noticing more and more brands are, you know, they they're still on the fence with like, well, should we make the decision or not of making things more sustainable?
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, it shouldn't be on the fence anymore.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: You know, if you're gonna be charging for products, you have to make certain things built in to the product.
- 37:27SPEAKER_01: And I think this is one of those things, you know, sustainability has to be built in because if it's not, it's just, I'm sorry, but no one has money anymore to be like, you know, wasting it on things that they have to then take 15 extra steps to minimize their footprint.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: Like, you can't do that and just logistically, you know, it doesn't make sense.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: So I think it's a great thing, you know, to know that, like, you know, when you're shopping for whatever brand you're shopping for, all of those checkboxes have already been ticked.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: You know, somebody has already gone through and made sure that your purchasing decision is a very sound decision and you're not going to be adding more stress in any way to yourself or to your conscience.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: Like it's all kind of taken care of.
- 38:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's huge.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: And especially, especially right now, you know, people are just being pickier, right?
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: With their person purchasing decisions, their purchasing power, you know, voting with our dollars.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: Um, we're just being a lot more, you know, proactive, I think, at least from what I'm seeing, you know, and I I think it's a huge thing for brands to be mindful and to really follow in these footsteps because it it does matter.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: And you're right, it it may it makes a huge difference.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: So um, but yeah, that's that's great.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: And it's more expensive too, which is why a lot of brands don't do it, um, because they're looking at the bottom line.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: But the reality is if we're not doing that, it it is costing our our earth in you know, carbon taxes and energy taxes.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: Um, all of this stuff has to be paid for at some point.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: So we might as well collectively embrace products and retailers and um brands that are taking those steps to think about sustainability from the start and build it into their brand from the beginning, not say, oh, in five years we're gonna focus on sustainability because we don't have those five years.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: We we need to do we need to do that work now.
- 39:15SPEAKER_00: And you're right that more and more people are trying, they really want to connect with the brand like a person.
- 39:22SPEAKER_00: They want to know who they are as a person, what their values are, what are they doing versus saying?
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: Um, we're really proud of brands like our retail partners like Credo and Ulta for really setting standards, like Ulta has their Conscious Beauty program, which sets specific standards for brands and how they show up on a sustainability and charitable donation measurement.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: Credo's done amazing things with requiring brands to have 50% recycled packaging in their packaging.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: That's a big risk and a step to take for a retailer.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: And I'm just so proud of these retailers for really making bold moves to set up these standards that we can all live by.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: I 100% agree with you.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: And I love that you've chosen to partner with people that have that same mindset.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: You know, that's speaks volumes.
- 40:15SPEAKER_01: I think it's not, I'm sure I'm not a brand founder, you know, but I know that it must be a very difficult decision, you know, going through the whole process of choosing retailers and and signing those documents.
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm just so glad that you guys are, you know, you're really um available in stores that you really resonate with, you know, as people.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: That means a lot to me as a consumer.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: And I know a lot of us can relate, you know, we we want to connect with brands, I think, as consumers.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: We want to connect with not only the brand.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: And that's really why I created skincare anarchy because that was my desire, you know, as a consumer.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: It was this like, I want to resonate with everything about a brand.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: You know, I want to know who's behind it, what are what do they believe in?
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: And does that match, you know, with what I'm doing?
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Because it's about skin health, it's about beauty and vanity, yeah.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: But a lot of it is we're invested, you know, as consumers.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: We invest in you guys.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: You know, we we put our money aside.
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: It's about the money, but it's also about the effort, you know, going into a store, shopping, and then knowing at the end of the day, I made a good decision, you know, even if you don't spend a lot of time thinking about it, it is in the back of your mind.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: And I think those things really play a big role in the longevity of, you know, am I going to repurchase?
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Am I gonna keep coming back?
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: You know, that kind of thing.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: So I love that.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: And I I really love that you guys have taken those steps.
- 41:27SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I'm just a huge fan.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: So I I want to round out the interview, Kristen, with asking you, you know, what is next for kinship?
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: Do you guys have some good, you know, big news coming up or anything on the horizon that you could share with us?
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, we're really excited in a couple weeks going to be announcing a big uh skincare product award.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: Um, it'll be announced, I think, the week of September 21st.
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: So that's a pretty major award we've won um in the industry.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: You might be able to guess which award it is, but we're we're gonna be announcing that with a big party um down in LA for some of our influencer community.
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: And we're also just really excited about doubling down on our US business, Ulta, credo, specialty retail.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: And we just recently launched with Cult Beauty in the UK.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: And that has been such an exciting launch for us because it's reaching a new market, but it's also tapping into that UK consumer base.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: And the UK and Europe, as you probably know, are a little bit ahead of us in terms of their how they look at the whole personal care market and how they think about clean and what the word clean means.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: And just by our experience going into that market, we've really kind of seen like what the future of clean looks like because I think it's changing.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: Um, everyone says they're clean, but what does that really mean?
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: So I think we as an industry have to align in that word and what it means just to make it much more transparent and clear for consumers.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: So we're excited to be part of that change and yeah, just really focusing on our existing customers.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: We we've recently started just doing the operating this 2080 rule, you know, the Pareto principle, just focusing on the 20% of activities that are going to produce 80% of the results.
- 43:23SPEAKER_00: That operating principle has really helped us as a team be more efficient.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: Um, and also just focus on, you know, what are the core things that we want to do to grow impact in making people's skin better, helping the planet, and just helping people live healthier lives ultimately.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: So we're just really excited about the future for kinship and partnering with great retail partners.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Yay, that's great.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm really excited to hear about the UK bit because I we have a great, we have a great amount of listeners in the UK.
