- 1:16Speaker 1: I'm good? How are you?
- 1:18Speaker 2: You are just cute to Boot? Can I say?
- 1:22Speaker 1: Oh, cute to Boot? I love that Australian saying.
- 1:25Speaker 2: No, I made it up and it just I just
- 1:27Speaker 2: looked like you were the sort of person who would
- 1:29Speaker 2: appreciate a cute.
- 1:29Speaker 1: To Boot and I love it. Can we make it
- 1:31Speaker 1: a thing?
- 1:32Speaker 2: We could absolutely make it a thing. Hey, congrats on
- 1:36Speaker 2: on the new series. Obviously, the character of el Woods
- 1:39Speaker 2: is iconic. This is a prequel. You play younger version
- 1:44Speaker 2: of Reese Witherspoon. Do you want to do the setup
- 1:47Speaker 2: for where people find Elle in the TV series? Sure?
- 1:52Speaker 1: I would be honored. So Elle Woods, it's your sweet sixteen.
- 1:56Speaker 3: She lives in bel Air, perfect life, perfect friends, perfect family,
- 2:01Speaker 3: and then her father played by Tom Everett Scott, drops
- 2:05Speaker 3: a bomb on her that he watched an actress's nose job.
- 2:09Speaker 1: They have to lie low, of course.
- 2:12Speaker 2: And they moved on related. I mean, I don't know
- 2:15Speaker 2: about you, but it feels like something that would happen
- 2:18Speaker 2: with a doctor in bill Air, that they would botch
- 2:20Speaker 2: a nose job and we'd have to go run somewhere
- 2:23Speaker 2: to lay low.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Of course, you're only as good as your best nose job.
- 2:28Speaker 2: This is what I've That's what's what I've heard in Hollywood.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That is exactly so.
- 2:34Speaker 3: We lie low and we moved to Seattle in nineteen
- 2:37Speaker 3: ninety five, which you know, for those of you who
- 2:39Speaker 3: who don't know, that's the height of the Grune movement.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And Pink again.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I think you would fit in perfectly fine. Yeah, I
- 2:46Speaker 2: think you fit in perfectly fine.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I am the face of Nirvana.
- 2:51Speaker 3: And yeah, so Pink littel Woods doesn't fit in.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Quite as well as she would hope in Seattle.
- 2:58Speaker 3: And it's about her fish out of water journey there
- 3:02Speaker 3: in this new world.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It's so great. Now, who taught you the bend and snap?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Do we uncover where we learn the bend and snap?
- 3:09Speaker 2: In this series?
- 3:11Speaker 1: I actually learned it on my own time.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Okay, good, that's extra curriculum. Good points for you, good
- 3:17Speaker 2: points for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you, thanks so much.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I will admit I have watched only the first episode
- 3:22Speaker 2: because I don't tell me this. This is going to
- 3:25Speaker 2: be my follow up question. You work so hard making
- 3:28Speaker 2: a series, people binge watch it all in a weekend.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Do you want them to space it out a little
- 3:35Speaker 2: bit so that they have like something to work towards,
- 3:39Speaker 2: or are you like on board, just gobble it all up,
- 3:43Speaker 2: watch it as quick as you want to watch it.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I do think this is a very bingeable series.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I wouldn't blame someone if they wanted to watch it
- 3:51Speaker 3: all in one beat. But I will say what I
- 3:54Speaker 3: hope more than anything is that people watch it with
- 3:57Speaker 3: other people, because honestly, one thing that I think people
- 4:01Speaker 3: will be so pleasantly surprised about is how fun and
- 4:04Speaker 3: funny this show is. There are some laugh out loud
- 4:08Speaker 3: moments in it, and I think that watching it with
- 4:10Speaker 3: other people, it will be that much more appreciated. My
- 4:15Speaker 3: mom in this June Diane Rachel, is one of the
- 4:18Speaker 3: funniest people I have ever worked with. What I feel
- 4:21Speaker 3: most sad about is that people only to get to
- 4:23Speaker 3: see one take that she does, because okay, this woman
- 4:27Speaker 3: will say, keep the cameras rolling and we'll do eighteen
- 4:31Speaker 3: improvs in a row, each one funnier than the last,
- 4:34Speaker 3: and we can only show one of each. So that's
- 4:37Speaker 3: what I hope that as people.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Watch it with other people.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Now, obviously it's an iconic character that you're taking on
- 4:43Speaker 2: race Withspoon obviously. Is she's got her fingers all over
- 4:46Speaker 2: this right, like the production company? Did she audition you?
- 4:49Speaker 2: Is that the story? Or did she sign off on you?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Or she said something very positive about you? Yeah?
- 4:54Speaker 1: I think she likes me. I hope, but yeah. I
- 4:58Speaker 1: met her first over.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Zoom and it was just like a kind of a
- 5:02Speaker 3: conversation like this, And I was super nervous because it's
- 5:05Speaker 3: Reese Witherspoon and I met her first in person.
- 5:09Speaker 1: She was the one who told me that I got
- 5:11Speaker 1: the part.
- 5:12Speaker 2: But I don't how does that go? Sorry? How does that?
- 5:14Speaker 2: How does that? How does that go? Does she like
- 5:16Speaker 2: go o d she do a little girls? Or is
- 5:20Speaker 2: does she go straight out and goes, I loved it?
- 5:22Speaker 2: You got the job straight away?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Well, she tricked me. Everyone tricked me.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I was being boozled because I didn't know I was
- 5:28Speaker 3: going to be meeting her that day. I was told
- 5:30Speaker 3: I was going to be meeting someone from Hell Sunshine
- 5:33Speaker 3: and someone from Amazon to.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Do another round.
- 5:35Speaker 3: At this point, I've been auditioning for eight months. I'm like,
- 5:37Speaker 3: what's another month of auditions? You know?
- 5:41Speaker 1: And I get there and the director Jason Moore tells me,
- 5:44Speaker 1: you know. Actually you're going to be meeting Reese Witherspoon.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Have a we have a signing here in Australia. Did
- 5:53Speaker 2: you shoot your pants?
- 5:55Speaker 1: I ship my pants so bad that day.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I was so nervous because I'm also I'm a preparer.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I like to come prepared so I can be present.
- 6:05Speaker 3: And I didn't have Diddley Squat prepared frankly and you know,
- 6:09Speaker 3: a list actor.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But she was so kind, so welcome.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Oh, just like you. I'm so bummed I didn't get
- 6:17Speaker 2: to meet you last week when you hear in Australia.
- 6:20Speaker 2: What was one thing that you enjoyed doing? What was
- 6:23Speaker 2: one thing that you you took away from your time
- 6:25Speaker 2: here in Australia.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Well, people seem people seem really attractive in Australia.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So this is very this is very true.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I love attractive. Yeah, the rumors are truth. The vibes
- 6:35Speaker 3: are immaculate there. And I love Australian music. There's this
- 6:40Speaker 3: kind of like garage rock that I love. Courtney Barnett
- 6:42Speaker 3: and Milan, the Spurs, the Chats, I love them so much.
- 6:46Speaker 2: My god, we here. I thought you were just lying,
- 6:49Speaker 2: but no, you're actually okay. I'm running I'm dead out
- 6:52Speaker 2: of time. But yes, we're all attractive. Yes we do
- 6:54Speaker 2: good music. Now I'm going to ask you about a
- 6:56Speaker 2: rumor I heard about you. You're not a natural blonde.
- 7:00Speaker 1: The rumors are spreading. Yeah, no I'm not. It's all fake.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It's all Why is we we have a weeg on?
- 7:06Speaker 2: Or is this what you've done to your hair?
- 7:08Speaker 1: Imagine I'm bald, I just like rip off my I'd
- 7:10Speaker 1: be crazy.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It could it could be true.
- 7:13Speaker 1: That'd be a good interview right there. No, I am
- 7:15Speaker 1: a natural brunette.
- 7:17Speaker 3: My hair is very dark, and one of the biggest
- 7:19Speaker 3: compliments I get is sometimes people think it's my real hair,
- 7:23Speaker 3: which I'm honored by. I'm surprised I still have hair
- 7:25Speaker 3: because I have to bleach my hair every three weeks.
- 7:29Speaker 3: So the fact that I'm still standing strong and I'm
- 7:31Speaker 3: not purple yet, that's that's a win.
