- 0:27That's how you find us. I actually forgot to post
- 0:30something over at Living in this so I might have to go sneak that
- 0:33in there. So.
- 0:34Oh, it's a good thing I didn't forget.
- 0:36Oh, good. We've got each other's backs,
- 0:38people. We've got each other's backs.
- 0:40That's what happens here. You know Walt, you know Roy
- 0:44always had Walt's back. So yeah, I'm.
- 0:47Not saying that, that's right. We're Walt and Roy, but you
- 0:51know, we want to welcome everyone who's listening.
- 0:55Yeah, who's listening live, Watching live.
- 0:57We do this live because we do it for you.
- 0:59And if you don't have the chance to do that, we make it real
- 1:04simple for you. You can check us out over at
- 1:06Spotify, Apple, Amazon and iHeartRadio.
- 1:13Right. Still correct?
- 1:15Excellent. Excellent.
- 1:17So we are recording this here on September the 16th, 2025 and we
- 1:24decided to go with some nice Main St. ambiance.
- 1:28Let us know in the comments here on YouTube if you like the
- 1:32background music because it's quite nice.
- 1:36So I mean you listen we you and I, we know we listen to music
- 1:41loop. So I'm going to ask you what is
- 1:44your? What is your?
- 1:46What is your top three most listened right now?
- 1:49And then give me your top of all time.
- 1:52You think and these are music loops that have to be on YouTube
- 1:57and anyone watching can can let us know and you can also comment
- 2:00below if you want listening or watching later.
- 2:04Yes, yes, please do. OK, so right now Starlight,
- 2:14Epcot entrance and #3 is going to be Tomorrowland.
- 2:27Oh, there's always that one that that's in the in the background
- 2:31a little bit. You start testing the waters
- 2:33there because you want to mix it up a little bit.
- 2:35Then you start to go, OK, all right, all right.
- 2:39The 1 I did that for is I'm listening.
- 2:41And if you want this one, this is a great version of this.
- 2:46I discovered the World Showcase and I think it's long.
- 2:50I mean, it takes you from Mexico all the way through to Canada
- 2:55and it takes a while. I don't even know how long it
- 2:56is. It's over.
- 2:58Well, over an hour I think. Yeah, I can share that with you
- 3:01if you want. That one is kind of the one I've
- 3:03been kind of working in when I'm like, OK, let's break, let's
- 3:07break up the monotony a little bit.
- 3:08OK, so so that there's that one that's kind of my newest 1, you
- 3:14know, you know, what has to be my most played of all time at
- 3:20this point is the Epcot entrance music.
- 3:25But it's the short one. What is it, 2020?
- 3:28There is 123, that's right, 20. 21 yeah, I love that one so
- 3:33much. I I just find myself playing
- 3:36that a lot. And I play that one a lot in the
- 3:37morning when it's like 6 in the morning and I'm in the shower,
- 3:40I'm trying to wake up. There's a lot of energetic
- 3:42pieces to that. Yeah.
- 3:44Just gets me pumped for the day. And of course, I guess I have to
- 3:47say Epcot, the Epcot entrance music that you're you're
- 3:53currently listening to too. That one, that one's up there
- 3:56really high too, but probably number.
- 3:58Well, yeah, those are it. Those are it.
- 4:01I asked you for three, but my other two that I hit up a lot is
- 4:05Hollywood Studios, whether it's Sunset.
- 4:08Blvd. Oh, both.
- 4:09Yeah, both. Yeah.
- 4:11Both. I recently stumbled across the
- 4:15lake over there. There's lake music, too.
- 4:18Yeah, yeah, they have good Christmas music that that
- 4:22Christmas loop is good. Remind me to pull that out if I
- 4:26don't do that at Christmas time. But but the but the one you
- 4:29listen to right now is just it's gold as well.
- 4:33So it's like my top five. It's it's all four parks, but
- 4:36Epcot gets the edge a little bit.
- 4:38But I love this right here. This background is right here.
- 4:40Reminds me of ending the night and you just coming down Main
- 4:45Street and reflecting on your day.
- 4:47Yeah, yeah, exactly right. I mean, I just, I hear that.
- 4:51And it just puts you right on that, you know, you've probably
- 4:54got a Starbucks in your hand and you're wrapping up and, you
- 4:59know, you just think about, you know, what did we do?
- 5:01Did we get everything done that we wanted to?
- 5:03Did we miss out on something? Are you laughing about something
- 5:07crazy that happened? And you know, it's a great way
- 5:10to to wrap up the day. One of the other loops that I
- 5:14listen to a lot, but it's not in my current top three but
- 5:18probably my all time top three is Disney Springs where it's the
- 5:24remixes of the the Disney music. That is one that I touch on, but
- 5:32you know, I just, I haven't found time to put that one in as
- 5:36much as the other stuff. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:39You know, so yeah, thanks for the reminder of that too.
- 5:41I'll have to. I'll have to work that one in a
- 5:44little bit more often 'cause that one's great too.
- 5:46It's unique. They're unique.
- 5:48They're all unique. They're all unique.
- 5:50Yeah, every single one, not only the others.
- 5:53And of. Course theme park giant's been
- 5:55doing Space Mountain a lot recently.
- 6:01So he does Tron and then he goes right over 'cause he has his
- 6:03chest mount on, so he just keeps it and goes right into space.
- 6:07And that music there, it's pretty good too, that that the
- 6:12key music for space is really good.
- 6:15There's no doubt that Disney does an amazing job on all of
- 6:18this music. The other one that the real
- 6:21classic, the one that means most to me though, is Innovations
- 6:27Interventions. Have you heard the Intervention
- 6:30soundtrack? Listened to it recently because
- 6:32I, I didn't, I mean, inventions wasn't there by the time we all
- 6:36started going. Yeah.
- 6:39So the last time I would have heard interventions in person
- 6:42would have been 2001. So I had to listen to it again.
- 6:47Yeah. So, you know, we talk about core
- 6:49memories and things like that, that there's so many core
- 6:51memories there for us when we visited as a family on vacation
- 6:56and then once we were here, if anybody goes as far back as when
- 7:01we were just a blogging channel, I used to stop all the time.
- 7:04And I include it in blogs a lot. I feel like where you stop at,
- 7:08where the music's playing in the speakers, in the grass, and when
- 7:10they hit the, the certain pieces of music that are just my
- 7:13favorite of all time, we stop and we pay attention.
- 7:18I'll be like, listen to this everyone.
- 7:20Listen. So thank you everyone for being
- 7:23here once again. If you are here looking for ways
- 7:26to do Disney on a budget, you have found the park Rose right
- 7:31here, couple guys talking to Disney who are going to help you
- 7:34out with that. So yeah, can't wait to share
- 7:37that with you. So I'm ready, if you're ready.
- 7:39Yeah. So, you know, we, we, we know
- 7:43that there's so many people out there that go, I'm not going to
- 7:46Disney. It's too expensive.
- 7:48I can't afford it and I'm not saying it's not an expensive
- 7:52trip. Understand that Walt Disney
- 7:54Resort is just it's, it's an expensive trip, but you can
- 8:01maximize it and really get out of it what you what you should.
- 8:07I thought about this topic because I had a friend reach out
- 8:10to me a while back, wanted to take her son to Disney and
- 8:17wanted to stay under 5000 And I'm like, oh, I can help you
- 8:23there. We we got this and I planned
- 8:26out. She ended up not going because
- 8:30she had heard that All Star music or the All Star Resorts
- 8:33all together was not a good hotel.
- 8:38I'm like, I can promise you as many times as I go there, it is
- 8:47a great place to stay. And Roderick, who just stayed on
- 8:51property for the first time, can tell you the the same thing in
- 8:54chat. And anybody else can chime in
- 8:57with, you know, what's your favorite resort to stay?
- 9:01And do you stay at the value? Do you stay at the deluxe?
- 9:03Do you stay somewhere in between?
- 9:06So that's kind of what we're going to discuss today.
- 9:08Hey, coming from someone who is state stayed at just about every
- 9:12place on property from the grand flow to the All Stars.
- 9:16I still love the All Stars. And I tried really hard to
- 9:22convince Tammy to stay there this summer with a really good
- 9:25deal that we had. And I, I, I practically begged,
- 9:29but she didn't. She just didn't want to stay.
- 9:31She just don't want to stay on property at that time.
- 9:35So, you know, I love it. And that's core memory for us
- 9:39too. It's just a great spot.
- 9:43I love it. I would never balk at it and I
- 9:45would stay there again. Yeah, so let me bring up some
- 9:50info here. How to do Disney on a budget?
- 9:56So when my music stopped. So this is what we're going to
- 10:02talk about. We're going to talk about how to
- 10:03do Disney on a budget, you know, and here's Circle.
- 10:09Tour of the Magic. Kingdom Oops, passengers.
- 10:16So here's what we're going to talk about.
- 10:17We're going to talk about travel, right?
- 10:20How to get there, apparel and other things that you need to
- 10:26make sure that you pack ticket prices, resorts, food and
- 10:33souvenirs. And if there's anything that I'm
- 10:34missing, you freak. You freak me out.
- 10:38Yeah, you freak me out on that slide.
- 10:39I'm like, where's that on Main Street, 'cause I'm listening to
- 10:42Main Street. That's the Rosen.
- 10:45Crown. That's the Rosen Crown because
- 10:48it's what's on tap. Rosen, Crown.
- 10:52OK, now I'm a little slow on the uptake and I always do an Irish
- 10:56accent with the Rosen. So you know what to pack.
- 11:02So when we think about, you know, the trip that's coming up,
- 11:06one of the things that that we always do, we have a, we have a
- 11:09tote with all of our Disney stuff in it.
- 11:13You know, we go fairly often compared to a lot of families.
- 11:17And so we have to stay prepared. And so we have like Finley's
- 11:22headphones and bubble wand. A couple magic bands are in
- 11:27there, a couple external batteries are in there, things
- 11:32like that. So you got to make sure to pack
- 11:35that stuff. And the reason I say that is if
- 11:38you get to Disney and you don't have an external battery, what
- 11:42are you going to do? You're either going to order one
- 11:45at Amazon, you're going to have to drive over to Walmart, or
- 11:51you're going to have to use the fuel rods, right?
- 11:55So it's just inconvenient. So make sure to pack that stuff
- 11:59because not only is it inconvenient, but it could cost
- 12:02you more money. I mean, why buy an extra an
- 12:04extra external battery when you have one already, you know?
- 12:08Exactly. I can touch on that.
- 12:10You know, I just think the fuel rods are the biggest waste of
- 12:14money. I can't even think of a way to
- 12:17justify that. I mean, I would say the only way
- 12:20I can justify using one of those is something like that, right?
- 12:23Oh my gosh, I forgot my battery or my battery's dead.
- 12:26I have no way to charge it. I need a few rods.
- 12:28OK, but there's easy ways to be prepared for that.
- 12:32I run around with a, a brand that is, I mean, I bet most
- 12:36people listening have never even heard of it.
- 12:38And it's a nice little brick it, it keeps our streams alive on a
- 12:43Saturday. And I come back and it's not
- 12:46even it's like 60% left of battery life.
- 12:50Like it's a monster. It's a monster.
- 12:52And I don't even know if I paid more than 50 bucks.
- 12:54So invest in that and you're good to go.
- 12:57You're good to go for your trip. Plug it in at night, every other
- 13:00night and, and you are good. So that's a good way to save
- 13:03money on, on that kind of stuff. And I mean, if we're on
- 13:06electronics, right, everybody has electronics, right?
- 13:09I'm in charge of kind of the kids are getting a little bit
- 13:12older now. So maybe not as much, but it's
- 13:15still my job to gather all the wires, double check, triple
- 13:20check everyone's electronics, make sure everyone's able to
- 13:23plug in when we get to the resort at night.
- 13:27So and what I found too, I learned this from my cruise is
- 13:32they only accept well you can't use extension cords for cruises.
- 13:37Did you know that? I did not know that.
- 13:39That's good to know. Remind me, I will send you a
- 13:42link to what I bought and it's perfect.
- 13:45It's basically it's basically a nice square outlet with multiple
- 13:49inputs, your standard plugs plus your USBCSUSBS.
- 13:55It's it's great. I think I bought a 2 pack and it
- 13:57was I don't even know it was 15 bucks for a 2 pack and now I use
- 14:00them around the house. But those I pull them out of the
- 14:03walls in the house when we eat, even if we just go to Disney and
- 14:06stay on property for a night, we take those and it's such an easy
- 14:09plug in. It's not like you're using every
- 14:11outlet in your room, you know, the two beside the bed, the one
- 14:15in the wherever, you know Disney sticks them everywhere.
- 14:17They're not all over the place. They're on top of the main
- 14:20dresser and everyone's plugged in.
- 14:21So easy tips right there for affordability for.
- 14:26Power, Yeah, definitely, definitely do that.
- 14:29Make sure you have your This isn't a money saving tip, but
- 14:35make sure that you have good cables.
- 14:38You know the high speed cables because that makes a difference,
- 14:41especially when you know these are two of the top devices on on
- 14:46the market right now. Well, I say now and Apple just
- 14:50came out with their their their new phone.
- 14:52But you know when you have that high speed device now and not a
- 14:57not all of you are going to be live streaming like Corey and I
- 15:00and and the rest of the Disney streamer network.
- 15:02But we certainly need to charge quickly, especially in the heat,
- 15:08like he's out there, you know, in, in, in the summertime, the
- 15:11phones take a lot of charging because they because of the heat
- 15:16that they're seeing. So that's why you have a
- 15:19Gambrella. But make sure make sure to have
- 15:23good cables. Yeah, and it is true.
- 15:27Just a side note. You know, I was thinking, I know
- 15:29we stopped to eat at cosmic rays the other night and I had just
- 15:34plugged in minute minutes ago, I feel like, and I looked over and
- 15:37I went like 34%. It was already up in the 50s.
- 15:40And I was like, I made a comment.
- 15:41I go that it, it was a beautiful night.
- 15:44It was breezy, it was cool, it was perfect.
- 15:47So not a lot of heat. And that's why the, the, the
- 15:50phone was charging so fast. It makes a big difference as we
- 15:53move into fall and winter now, it's gonna be a lot quicker to
- 15:57charge. Yeah, yeah.
- 16:00So make sure to check the weather for the entire state.
- 16:04And I understand that it is Florida.
- 16:07And a couple weeks ago, it said rain every day for a couple
- 16:13weeks, really. And in the Facebook groups that
- 16:17I'm in, everybody was going crazy.
- 16:19Should I cancel my trip? Should I cancel my trip?
- 16:21What do I do? Mike, go, it's Florida.
- 16:25It's summertime. That forecast is going to say
- 16:29rain. And it hardly ever rained.
- 16:32In fact, it said it for the last weekend that we were there, rain
- 16:37every day. And I was getting worried
- 16:38because that was Catherine and Finley's first time to see the
- 16:41parade and it didn't rain at all.
- 16:44Actually, I take the back, it did rain for a couple hours late
- 16:48morning one day. So we just stayed in the resort
- 16:52until the rain passed and then we went and we didn't get any
- 16:56rain on us at all. So make sure to check the
- 16:59weather, prepare, wear water resistant shoes if you have them
- 17:06or Crocs or what do you, what do you wear Corey?
- 17:13So I do have Crocs and I started doing that because we were at
- 17:19Animal Kingdom a few years back and we were going through one of
- 17:23the gift shops at the end of the night and they had brown Mickey
- 17:26ones with a mesh top to them and I really liked them.
- 17:29So I bought them and I end up liking them.
- 17:31I bought a second pair when I ran through those and then I
- 17:35went on Amazon and bought an A black pair.
- 17:38So I use those sometimes still, but I also bought it's a very
- 17:44expensive pair of shoes, but I got a good deal on them.
- 17:48Solomons, I think they're called, but they're they're
- 17:51they're gore Tex and 1000% waterproof.
- 17:55I think I could dip my foot in the pool and it wouldn't even
- 17:57get wet. But of course it can all you
- 17:59know when you're walking and you flip up water it all you know,
- 18:02you know your legs then that's how it kind of can seep in a
- 18:04little bit there. But they very much want proof.
- 18:08Yeah. So that's that's what I wear.
- 18:09And this is how I gauge it. I mean, you're talking about,
- 18:13and I've heard people do this too.
- 18:15They look at the they're excited about their trip.
- 18:18And but it is Florida and they look at the weather ahead of
- 18:21time and they freak out because there's always rain in the
- 18:24forecast for Florida. And I'll say, I'll say this
- 18:27about it and maybe you won't freak out anymore.
- 18:31Have no expectations besides the time of year and what the
- 18:35temperature is expected to be. Pay more attention to the
- 18:37temperature, which is going to be a lot more accurate than the
- 18:43weather. I'm going to take you back to
- 18:45any Saturdays that we do our process.
- 18:48We're getting ready and just about before we're about to head
- 18:52out the door, Tammy will say, what's the weather like?
- 18:55And I check and if I see anything that is under 30
- 19:00percent, 30% is the mark where I will say, especially in the
- 19:04summer, I'm going to bring, I'm going to bring umbrellas because
- 19:10to me that 30% mark is it's probably more likely to rain
- 19:14than it's not. You know, anything lower like
- 19:19this Saturday, there were a lot of single digits percentages.
- 19:23So we took the umbrellas to the park, well, to the to with us in
- 19:27the car. But when we parked, we we
- 19:29observed the skies, looked at the time of day and we were
- 19:32like, Nah, this, we're good, we're good.
- 19:34So we took a chance. We just left them in the car as
- 19:37so we talk about time of year, right as we get into the fall
- 19:40and definitely winter. Oh, did you lose me?
- 19:45No, I'm not sure if you lost me. No, you're good.
- 19:50Oh, OK, OK. As we as you get into the late
- 19:54fall winter months, it doesn't rain anymore.
- 19:58So there. Excuse me.
- 20:00There's that too. So anyway, my thing is, don't
- 20:03pay attention to the to to the weather in terms of
- 20:07precipitation. Yeah, precipitation.
- 20:09I was gonna say perspiration. I had to stop for a second.
- 20:12Perspiration happens too. Those people you have to watch
- 20:15out for. Yes.
- 20:17But yeah, it's too unpredictable.
- 20:19It's. So my point was it's too, it's
- 20:21even unpredictable when I live an hour from the park and we're
- 20:24heading there. I can get an idea sometimes if
- 20:27the range is is very, very low or very, very high.
- 20:30But even that's unpredictable because the other day it was
- 20:33like 100% for a few hours and I took everything, rain shoes,
- 20:37umbrellas, and it didn't rain a drop.
- 20:40So just just come prepared, you know, bring a backpack that's
- 20:45big enough to carry an umbrella for yourself and wear shoes that
- 20:49you don't mind getting wet, you know, and, and again, you know,
- 20:54if you're there, bring two different types of shoes Bring
- 20:56bring some Tivas or something, some sandals that are
- 20:59comfortable that if they get wet, big deal.
- 21:03And you can bring some sneakers where.
- 21:04And sometimes, yeah, you might get caught off guard.
- 21:06It's you might we, we get caught off guard sometimes too, but
- 21:11ultimately bring some sneakers too.
- 21:13And if the percentages, if it's summertime, it's usually going
- 21:16to rain at some point, right? So just be prepared for that.
- 21:20If it's summer, you almost want to exclusively just wear
- 21:22sandals. I think there's just so much to
- 21:25say about that. And the, and the rain there, you
- 21:27know, it's Florida, it could be an absolute monsoon where people
- 21:32are posting on TikTok and all that, you know, boats floating
- 21:36down Main St. That kind of stuff does happen,
- 21:39but it is rare. But rain is not rare in Florida.
- 21:43Be prepared. Some people are like, wow, it
- 21:46it's hurricane season. I, I should cancel my trip?
- 21:49Well, you already made the trip #1 #2 hurricane season for
- 21:54Florida is like June till November.
- 21:57When are you going to go? If that's the time that you can
- 22:00go, go, just make it. And while every year is
- 22:04different, we haven't even had knock on wood, we haven't even
- 22:07had a threat this year. Yeah, so.
- 22:09Yeah, and here we are in September.
- 22:10So yeah. So yeah, just think about that.
- 22:14Purchase clothes before the trip.
- 22:17So I say that because I'm wearing this nice Mickey shirt
- 22:22that I bought at Kohl's before one of our trips.
- 22:28Kohl's 5 below Amazon you can find you don't have to get
- 22:33buttoned down shirts like I do. You can find plenty of Mickey
- 22:36T-shirts there. Target, a lot of these stores
- 22:41out there even Walmart here locally will have some.
- 22:45But the Walmart, the, the two Walmarts that are over by
- 22:48Disney, the, the Disney section of those Walmarts is like a
- 22:55Walmart in itself up here. It's absolutely massive.
- 22:59So you can find stuff without having to go and shop in the
- 23:03emporium. I mean, that Walmart down there
- 23:05sells ears, you know, I think it was Sam's Club that also Sam's
- 23:10Club or Costco, I can't remember.
- 23:12One of the warehouses sells packs of ears and they're like
- 23:17$40.00 for like 8-8 packs of ears or something like that.
- 23:20So you can find that stuff without having to get it in the
- 23:24parks and save a ton of money. This next one pack snacks or
- 23:31your favorite foods. You are allowed to bring food
- 23:35into the parks. You can take anything except for
- 23:39glass bottles and loose ice. So it has to be packed or in an
- 23:45ice pack or something like that. But you can take all the food
- 23:50and snacks that you want into the parks.
- 23:53We don't pack, we don't pack our lunches and stuff like that, but
- 24:00we do take plenty of snacks, Cheez, Its and Goldfish for
- 24:03Finley and stuff like that. But I know that Corey and the
- 24:08family used to used to pack their lunches.
- 24:12We did when we first came, you know, we couldn't really spare
- 24:19eating, you know, dinner at Disney every Saturday.
- 24:23So the way to do it and save money was I got a really nice
- 24:27backpack that was a cooler backpack and we would pack 2
- 24:31drinks per family member. So that's 8 drinks I was
- 24:34carrying back there gets quite heavy.
- 24:36And we'd stop at Publix or Subway and get some Subs and we
- 24:42that would be dinner and Tammy would carry a backpack that was
- 24:45stocked full of snacks. So we were good to go the entire
- 24:49afternoon and evening at at Disney.
- 24:53And, you know, we, we had our spots too.
- 24:56Every park, we had our spots where we would sit and we would
- 24:59eat dinner. And I always look up at the
- 25:01Pinocchio Village house because there's a cool little balcony up
- 25:04there that faces the carousel. And I even said to Jake the
- 25:07other night, again, I said, good memories up there.
- 25:10And he's like, yeah, you know, and you never forget where you
- 25:15came from. So.
- 25:16Yeah, you it's, it's, and I think a lot of people don't
- 25:19realize that you can bring those types of things in to Disney.
- 25:24Yep. So even if so far, if you're on
- 25:26vacation and you just wanted to say, you know, even if you're
- 25:29like, hey, we want to eat dinner, you know, every night at
- 25:32a park. Awesome.
- 25:33But if you want to save a little bit and bring some, bring some,
- 25:37bring some Subs or something for for lunch.
- 25:40It's a good way to do it. Yeah, we talked about the heat.
- 25:46Buy fans, neck fans, cooling towels, whatever you need to
- 25:52keep yourself comfortable in the heat.
- 25:55You know, again, check the weather.
- 25:57Don't take a fan in November and December, probably not needed
- 26:00then, but if you go into July and August, you might want to
- 26:04take a fan or cooling towel, whatever is going to keep you
- 26:09cool. Wear moisture wicking shirts and
- 26:12and shorts and stuff like that because the heat is a factor.
- 26:18There's no question about it. You know, we have, we have done
- 26:21I, I wasn't the first episode of the podcast that we did how to
- 26:25beat this, how to beat the heat. Yeah.
- 26:29And so you got to be prepared for that and and don't let it
- 26:33become too much of a factor. We had, we had one incident with
- 26:37Finley where she got overheated and we had to go to first aid to
- 26:40cool her down, you know, and so after that point we knew, OK,
- 26:45we've got to do everything right to keep her comfortable if we're
- 26:50going in the the summertime, so. And, and you know, it's easy to
- 26:55say, drink plenty of water, which was a tip we had before
- 26:58too. I, I feel like, and I don't know
- 27:00if it if it's more this year than in the past, but it was a
- 27:04very, very hot summer and I felt like I saw more people being
- 27:09brought out on stretches or sitting on the ground half dead
- 27:13because of most likely heat exhaustion or dehydration.
- 27:19So not only is it important to drink that water, but but but
- 27:22and just invest in in a pack of electrolytes to add to your
- 27:26water. Because what that'll do is
- 27:29that'll even if you fail to drink as much water because
- 27:32you're busy, you're having fun, you're not thinking of it, at
- 27:35least getting those electrolytes in is going to carry you through
- 27:38a lot longer than a regular bottle of water.
- 27:41So definitely can do that. And what's the name of Purple
- 27:47Pleasures? Favorite electrolytes?
- 27:51I still have a few. Plexus, yeah, yeah, go to
- 27:55plexus.com. Everybody go to plexus.com and
- 27:57get those electrolytes. Or reach out to Purple Pleasure
- 28:01and she can get them. For Yeah, Reach out to Purple
- 28:03Pleasure. Let's do that.
- 28:04Reach out to Purple Pleasure. I'm going to help your mom.
- 28:06You're going to start. Mentioning I like that, I like
- 28:08that. So.
- 28:11So yeah, refillable water bottles.
- 28:14Everybody has one. Tervis, Corksicle, Starbucks,
- 28:19whatever it is, doesn't matter. Buy it at Walmart, Stanley, I
- 28:22don't care what brand it is, make sure to have one.
- 28:26I am not a fan of water. I don't drink a lot of water,
- 28:30but I can promise you this, when I'm in Disney, I drink a lot of
- 28:33water. Now Kelly from Eyes and Mouse,
- 28:37he always tells his audience that your body needs to prepare
- 28:43beforehand. So you need to start drinking
- 28:45water before you get to the parks, like 3-4, five days
- 28:49before the parks, you need to start drinking water, which is a
- 28:53good tip, but I, I never follow it, but definitely need to need
- 28:58to start doing that to see how my body would react to that.
- 29:03And the last thing on what to pack again, Amazon, Target,
- 29:10Walmart 5 below. Go get some Disney toys there so
- 29:16that you're not having to buy all this stuff when you get to
- 29:20the park, because it's probably twice as much if not more than
- 29:25that. Melanie Latane in chat says we
- 29:29purchased a camelback for all of us and it is the best.
- 29:34Awesome, another great tip. Listen, I thought of that idea
- 29:38too, but I'm walking around with, you know, a lounge fly or
- 29:43a Disney backpack. I don't know if they make a
- 29:45smaller type that could kind of stick out of your, your own
- 29:49backpack. Just take those sips because
- 29:51they'd be more like drink a little bit more.
- 29:53But I, I've changed my habits and, and I'm coming to the park
- 29:59well watered up. So you know which is good, which
- 30:04is very, very good. OK, so know your body.
- 30:07Sharon Hecker in Chat says you can fill your water bottle with
- 30:10something like pineapple juice, coconut water, liquid IV,
- 30:13anything to boost your electrolytes.
- 30:16Yep. All right.
- 30:19So that's what to pack. Now, how are you going to get
- 30:21there? So I'm a fan of travel by plane
- 30:29right from here to there, like an hour and a half.
- 30:34By the time I start to get uncomfortable in my seat,
- 30:36they're already starting to tell you to put the the trays and the
- 30:43and the seat backs in the upright position.
- 30:46So I'm a fan of that. However, couple things you got a
- 30:49book early because prices tend to not go down as you get closer
- 30:56to the flight, they go up. So make sure to to do that.
- 31:03Catherine says you're too good for handmade button downs.
- 31:07No, but the fabric sometimes is is as expensive as the shirt and
- 31:12then you have to make it so there is there is, you know,
- 31:16there is that trying to save you I.
- 31:18Told her yeah, I told her absolutely, but she responded
- 31:23way too fast. Why'd you say Boo, Corey?
- 31:26Isn't she asking if if if we like the handmade button downs
- 31:30that she makes? Yeah, we love them.
- 31:32I was saying, yeah, we love him. Yeah.
- 31:34So maybe I'm misinterpreting or she's misinterpreting me.
- 31:39So. USD, Greg isn't chat, he says
- 31:40driving not recommended from the West Coast.
- 31:43Yes, yes, that'd be a little bit long.
- 31:46That would be a little long. So one other tip for that, if
- 31:51you're traveling with a toddler, you can take a car seat and a
- 31:55stroller on the plane. They do not charge you for
- 31:58either of those. It doesn't count as baggage or
- 32:00anything like that. So you can have your own
- 32:03stroller and your own car seat. No need to rent a stroller or
- 32:06car seat when you get there. And then you also have to think
- 32:11about if you're traveling by air, how are you getting to
- 32:14Disney World? Are you going to rent a car?
- 32:18Uber, Lyft Now minivan is an option if you're staying at a
- 32:23deluxe and then you always have mirrors Connect or there's
- 32:28private transportation. Also we tend to go Mirrors
- 32:31Connect. I think it's $16.00 per adult
- 32:35and 12 per child one way get you there safe.
- 32:41If you do that, you do not have to take a car seat.
- 32:45So that's one less thing for you to have to worry about carrying
- 32:48and then you're there and you're inside the magic the whole time.
- 32:52And then mirrors, you can schedule them to come pick you
- 32:55up when you go home, which is always the saddest text alert to
- 33:00get when they tell you what time your your mirrors is picking you
- 33:03up. Some of us are close enough to
- 33:08drive, right? If you drive, you have no
- 33:11baggage fees and then you have more room to take popcorn and
- 33:14lightsabers home. So there is that option, but
- 33:17then you have to count in that time that it's going to cost
- 33:20you. We've done both and really just
- 33:24comes down to the the time of the flight, whether the flight
- 33:29is direct. We've always taken a direct
- 33:31flight there. We did have to take a connection
- 33:33back one time and it totally messed us up.
- 33:35We ended up staying in Miami overnight and if you drive then
- 33:41it's an 8 to 9 hour drive back here.
- 33:45So we have to factor factor that in.
- 33:51All right, where to stay? Corey has stayed, as he said in
- 33:56just about every resort on property.
- 34:02It's also stayed in a Verbo. And what about when you first
- 34:06came down with the family? Were you guys staying off
- 34:09property at all or were you always staying in the magic?
- 34:14With the kids, we had always stayed in the Magic before kids.
- 34:21Tammy and I went down together and you know, the first trip we
- 34:27did was actually the Universal, not Disney.
- 34:29So I had still never gone to Disney before.
- 34:31It was unplanned, but we ended up going for 1/2 a day over to
- 34:35Hollywood Studios. So that was off property.
- 34:39So I think we had a shuttle. We took a shuttle from the the,
- 34:41the Claritin. Claritin Clarion.
- 34:45Yeah. So, yeah.
- 34:47So we did that. Yeah.
- 34:51So I don't think Tammy and I have ever stayed on property
- 34:54before kids, but always once we had no, I'm lying.
- 34:59Wait a minute now there was a time we took the kids down.
- 35:03Nope, that was a non Disney trip.
- 35:05Can you believe we did a non Disney trip with the kids?
- 35:08I might I might be misremembering.
- 35:10If Tammy's listening she can go in the chat, but I feel like the
- 35:13one I'm thinking about the first time or second time or something
- 35:16we came down with the kids. We rented like a condo that had
- 35:21a cool pool and everything. And we did, I think we did
- 35:28SeaWorld then and Universal because I was trying to do
- 35:32Disney and Universal, but cost wise it was just not working
- 35:36out. So I think there's a non Disney
- 35:37trip. So any Disney trips with the
- 35:39kids was always on property and happy for it, you know, and of
- 35:42course, unfortunately, rest in peace.
- 35:44You know, the Magical Express was still in business and we
- 35:47just raved about how you could just drop your bags.
- 35:50They take you in, you're in the bubble, you take transportation
- 35:53everywhere. And even those are core
- 35:55memories, you know, now and then we still take a bus because we
- 35:59just want to, we're just working out at that moment.
- 36:01Maybe the sky liner is down and we got to take a bus to where we
- 36:04need to go next. You know, if we think, you know,
- 36:07hey, let's, let's do a, a live stream of doing the sky liner
- 36:11from point A to point B Oh, wait a minute, it's closed down now
- 36:15we're going to do the train. Who would do that?
- 36:18So yeah, but but getting on the bus still to this day, to me is
- 36:22a core memory and it it makes you reminisce about the the
- 36:25vacation times that we had, Tammy says. 2015 we stayed in
- 36:28Kissimmee. OK.
- 36:30Yeah, that that trip, yeah. So the first time that
- 36:37Catherine, Finley, Jay and myself went, we stayed off
- 36:40property. Cannot remember the name of the
- 36:43resort. Malia made something like that,
- 36:46I think, and so then we had to rent a car.
- 36:51We get to the resort, I booked it.
- 36:53I can't remember how I booked it, but I thought it was a good
- 36:55deal. But then you get there and find
- 36:57out that there are resort fees, daily resort fees.
- 37:01So you have to think about that as well because that does start
- 37:05to add up. And then there's some that have
- 37:08parking fees daily. So between resort fees and
- 37:12parking fees, that could be another $70 a night.
- 37:14At that point, I might as well stay inside the magic.
- 37:19So just factor all that in. Plus then you're talking about
- 37:22renting a car unless you find a resort that has a shuttle.
- 37:28Those are very rare from what I have seen.
- 37:32And then a lot of times the shuttle it is there might be 3
- 37:36going and three coming back. And and when we stayed off
- 37:40property this last time, we stayed at spring.
- 37:44So it wasn't, it was like off but not off.
- 37:47And the shuttle coming back left magic at like 930 the the
- 37:55Knights just getting started at 9:30.
- 37:57What? No, it's not gonna work.
- 38:01So that's a no go. No, no.
- 38:03So you gotta gotta factor all that stuff in.
- 38:05So couple other tips, Book with points if you have them, you
- 38:11know. So if you always stay at
- 38:12Marriott and you have Marriott points booked that way, some
- 38:15people will do split stays where they stay off property for some
- 38:22and on property for some. And the resorts, especially like
- 38:29Disney, the resorts are where you're going to get the biggest
- 38:34discounts. So like this summer.
- 38:38So I just looked right at March of 2026.
- 38:43All Stars is 177. Not terrible, right?
- 38:48But I just booked All Star for 1/17 a night in July.
- 38:55So when you know they don't make any money when there are empty
- 39:00hotel rooms. OK, so that's going to be the
- 39:04biggest discount. So as an annual pass holder, I
- 39:06was getting 30 to 35% off of resort stays.
- 39:11So make sure if you can travel offseason, go for it.
- 39:15Don't travel when everybody else is going.
- 39:17Now Finley's in school, we don't have that that luxury.
- 39:21So we have to travel when everybody else is traveling.
- 39:25But if that's the case, you just make the most of it.
- 39:33What's your favorite resort that you've stayed at?
- 39:40Wow, favorite resort I would probably say.
- 39:50I asked him that like I have an answer.
- 39:52I don't even have an answer. Yeah, that that, you know,
- 39:55that's like me walking to the parks and somebody comes in to
- 39:57chat and he's like, what's your favorite ride?
- 40:01OK, are we talking in which park?
- 40:03Which? Lane.
- 40:04You know, I'll, I'll just say some of my favourites was Grand
- 40:09Flow. It was incredible.
- 40:12The Poly was another is another incredible 1.
- 40:19Those are probably 2 of my top ones and.
- 40:24Yeah. Yeah, we we like the Yacht Club.
- 40:28I'd. Probably go.
- 40:28I'd probably go with those two. I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 40:31Yacht Club. Yacht Club too.
- 40:33I mean, the pool's great. But you know what it is also
- 40:36when when people ask that, your mind immediately goes back not
- 40:40only to the room and the resort and the food there, but it's
- 40:44also the actual vacation. So like I might say Treehouse
- 40:49Villas because we had a great time all hanging out there.
- 40:53And that was the day that we did the Four Park Challenge.
- 40:55We had a lot of fun. Or when we did Old Key West, so
- 41:01we did Old Key West, we had a 2 bedroom villa.
- 41:05There were, I think there were nine of us total.
- 41:10And that was a really fun vacation.
- 41:12That actually was the first time that Corey and I met.
- 41:17So in person, you know, so there's a lot of, he talks about
- 41:22core memories. There's a lot of core memories
- 41:23there. So a lot of times that's, you
- 41:25know, those memories take over and that's what makes that the
- 41:29best resort. Yeah.
- 41:32All right, so let's talk about in the parks.
- 41:34So how do you save money getting to the parks?
- 41:41So one, buy the tickets in advance.
- 41:44They're not going to be any cheaper.
- 41:47They're at the there's people that'll ask, well, should I wait
- 41:51and just buy the tickets there when I get there?
- 41:53No, don't do that. Buy them when you can, because
- 41:58then at least it's out of the way.
- 41:59If the budget's done, that part of the budget is taken care of.
- 42:03There are some authorized resellers.
- 42:05There are not many, and we're not talking about half price
- 42:09tickets and all that kind of stuff.
- 42:11It's going to save you a couple bucks here and there, right?
- 42:14But AAA, Undercover Tourist and when I was buying, when I was
- 42:21buying tickets and we didn't have a pass, I would get them
- 42:27through work. So I have a couple through our
- 42:32benefit packages at work. We have these discount where you
- 42:37get discounts for resorts, hotels, car rentals and theme
- 42:41park tickets. It's not just Disney, but all
- 42:43theme park tickets. So make sure to check that
- 42:45stuff. Saves you a couple bucks here
- 42:47and there. Should you get park hopper?
- 42:51What's your answer, Corey? I think you have to ask
- 42:56yourself, what kind of person are you?
- 42:58Because for us, we were not park hoppers going on vacation with
- 43:05the kids. We wanted to get to 1 park and
- 43:06just focus on that park. So you really have to ask
- 43:10yourself if you would want to invest in doing that.
- 43:15Number one, it costs more. So if you want to save money,
- 43:17don't park. Huh.
- 43:19If I'm trying to think what else, yeah, I mean, we, we just
- 43:25didn't park hop. We focused on one.
- 43:27So if you think you're someone who wants to park hop and you
- 43:30know it's going to cost a little bit more or split it up, have a
- 43:32few days where you want to park hop and other days where you're
- 43:36just going to stick to 1 park. So if I was going out for seven
- 43:39days and I want to save a little money, I'd probably say, OK,
- 43:43seven days, there's four parks. I would and I wanted to park
- 43:50hop. I'd probably spend 1 full day in
- 43:52each park and then I would take maybe take a day off and then
- 43:56the other two days park hop to do your favorite things.
- 44:00So people ask this all the time and my answer is how often do
- 44:07you go to Disney? They say this is the first time
- 44:11and don't get the park opera. How long you going?
- 44:15You are not a park pro. So the amount of time that it's
- 44:19going to spend that you're going to spend traveling back and
- 44:22forth is going to just take away from your experience, You know
- 44:27it. The back and forth could be an
- 44:30hour to an hour and a half, you know, getting back and forth
- 44:33from from one park to the other. So I say don't.
- 44:38There's plenty to do in every park to fill up your your day.
- 44:43So I would say no, don't, don't buy the park hopper.
- 44:49Now if you do get the park hopper, it is for your entire
- 44:52length of stay and it doesn't really change based on that, so.
- 44:57If. Yeah, if you were going for
- 44:59seven days and you wanted park hopper for three, you're buying
- 45:03park hopper. Park Hopper for I'm starting to
- 45:05sound like Tina Marie. You're buying Park Hopper for
- 45:09seven days, so. Did you say park hopper?
- 45:14Yeah. So, so just think about that.
- 45:18Really depends on your type of trip.
- 45:22You know, Now annual pass, we're annual pass holders, we get park
- 45:26hoppers built into that and we really hardly use that benefit.
- 45:32So just think about that. The other thing you have to
- 45:35think about is how many days you go in.
- 45:36So I have people that will ask where can I find discounted
- 45:47single day tickets and, and I laugh every time.
- 45:53That doesn't exist folks. You might be able to get from
- 45:57undercover tours of AAA about $5 off of that ticket.
- 46:01That's all you're going to get that that is the least
- 46:04discounted item ever. So it really depends on how many
- 46:10days you're going for. The the longer you go, the
- 46:13cheaper per day it is. And consider getting an annual
- 46:19pass if you're going to go about 8, even if you live out of state
- 46:23like I do. If you're going to go about 8
- 46:25days a year to the park, probably worth it to get the
- 46:30annual pass because then you're going to get free parking,
- 46:33discounts to the resort sticks, discounts to dining, and
- 46:39discount to merch. Yeah, and you know, adding to
- 46:46that too, if you're getting that annual pass, what I've heard
- 46:52from those who have done it is you end up coming again, right?
- 46:56You you're like, hey, dude, it's it's just a plane ticket in in
- 46:59Resorts Day. I have to pay park tickets.
- 47:03I am there. That's it.
- 47:06Yeah. So, so think about that now,
- 47:08Charlie, Renee mentioned I was going to mention it later, but
- 47:11you mentioned it. So I'm going to do that.
- 47:14If you go to Target and you have the red card, you get a discount
- 47:18on gift cards, including Disney gift cards, which you can then
- 47:23use to purchase your tickets or merch or whatever, but you're
- 47:27getting a discount on it there. And then the warehouses, I
- 47:31believe all three still have discounts and sometimes they
- 47:34even put them on sale. So instead of being 5% off, it's
- 47:36like 10% off. So you could use that and then
- 47:40start putting away for that trip.
- 47:42And before you know it, you have $800 worth of gift cards to use.
- 47:46So think about those type of things also all.
- 47:53Right. Oh, I see this, Lawrence.
- 47:56Now let me beat you to the punch.
- 47:57It's what to eat and not what to eat.
- 47:59So on the left not what to eat, On the right what to eat.
- 48:04This, we're not playing this or that.
- 48:06That's a different episode. Oh.
- 48:09Different episode, but of course, this is Corey's favorite
- 48:15favorite part of the the the night we're going to talk about
- 48:17food. So we mentioned about a reusable
- 48:21water bottle bringing electrolytes.
- 48:24You can also get free ice water at every quick service station.
- 48:30There are water refill stations throughout each of the parks and
- 48:34in Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
- 48:39You also have soda fountains that have water and ice.
- 48:44So just ABC commissary, just go over there and keep filling up
- 48:48back Lot Express, go there and fill up on your water and your
- 48:51ice. The snacks we talked about
- 48:56earlier. But you can also do grocery
- 49:00delivery. So Amazon, Instacart, Walmart,
- 49:04whatever theirs is called. You can probably do Publix, I
- 49:08guess too, and they will deliver to your resort.
- 49:11The resort will hold them and then you can have all the water,
- 49:14bottled water that you need and all that kind of stuff.
- 49:17That's a heck of a lot cheaper than going into the store and
- 49:19buying a $5 bottle of water. This I didn't, this came up
- 49:25today and I I didn't think about this until I read it.
- 49:28But if you want to do character dining, if that's really
- 49:32important to your vacation, do a breakfast instead of lunch or
- 49:36dinner, because breakfast is cheaper and you still get the
- 49:39characters. So I hadn't, I hadn't thought of
- 49:41that. I had thought, don't do sit down
- 49:45dining at all, you know? Yeah, I mean, because sit down
- 49:49dining is expensive. So you, you really have to plan
- 49:52out your your meals there. But I'm good with, you know,
- 49:57quick serve. I'm trying to think of the last
- 49:59time we sat down for dining. It might have been, oh gosh,
- 50:08what was the last? Oh, it might have been Garden
- 50:10Grill, I think was the last, the last time that we sat down to
- 50:13eat, and that was during the 40% off for the annual pass order.
- 50:22Yeah. So any of the tips on food?
- 50:28Eat lots of it I. Was going to say don't go.
- 50:33The tip is don't go during food and wine 'cause you will spend
- 50:36all your money. Yeah, don't eat the Mickey Ice
- 50:39Cream Sandwich. That's my tip.
- 50:41No, I think you covered it. I think you covered it pretty
- 50:44well there. Can't really think of of much
- 50:48more. I would probably say that
- 50:51listen, we've covered this in a full episode too.
- 50:54If anyone wants to dive into that one, you can go back and
- 50:57and listen to it because it's very comprehensive.
- 51:00But we talked about, you know, do is it, does it pay off to
- 51:04come in with a dining plan, that kind of thing?
- 51:07One thing we do, I think where we didn't use our dining plan
- 51:11correctly when we came as a family was we ended up with a
- 51:14whole bunch of snacks at the end of the trip.
- 51:17Now we're getting like, you know, prepackaged gummy worms,
- 51:20Goofy gummy worms and things like that.
- 51:23No, waste your money on that. Use those daily snacks for these
- 51:28things. Even if it's a Mickey Ice Cream
- 51:29Sandwich, you know, use those snacks within the park.
- 51:33There's so many great snacks in the park that we missed out on
- 51:36because I was focused on. We'll get a snack when we get
- 51:39back to the resort and that'll be our kind of kind of night
- 51:42time thing before bed. I would do it differently this
- 51:45time. I'd bring snacks for that.
- 51:47And I we, we so take advantage of these snacks in the parks.
- 51:51And Gilnack didn't do it either. Neither do we do that,
- 51:54everybody. Yeah, yeah.
- 51:57And you know, going back to the resort discounts, make sure to
- 52:02check the Disney website. I just looked earlier today.
- 52:07Next year you have the Kids dine, get a free dining plan for
- 52:12the kids. There's a couple of other
- 52:14discounts that they don't put them out too far in advance
- 52:19right now. They run through the fall
- 52:20basically and it's like 20 to 30%.
- 52:24So off the resorts. So that's good, but keep an eye
- 52:28on that. Also talking about resorts,
- 52:31don't forget that if you stay at a Disney resort, your check in
- 52:35day you get a free water park so you can go to Blizzard Beach or
- 52:38Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach is closed right
- 52:40now for the for the season, but you can get the free water park
- 52:45your first day that's like $65 I think.
- 52:48So take advantage of that. You know, first day check in,
- 52:52drop your luggage. If you don't know you can drop
- 52:55your luggage even if your room isn't ready, you can get there
- 52:58at 10:00 in the morning and head right to the resort pool, head
- 53:03to Disney Springs, head to the water park and luggage services
- 53:07will hold your luggage for you and then take them up to your
- 53:10room when your room is ready. So take advantage of of that for
- 53:14sure. All right, souvenirs, couple
- 53:21tips. Set a budget for kids.
- 53:23They're probably going to blow the budget anyway.
- 53:27Set a budget for kids. Listen.
- 53:29We did this. We did this.
- 53:31How did that work? We did this.
- 53:33Listen, if we did three trips with the kids, I swear we spent
- 53:37$1000 on souvenirs each of the first two trips between the kids
- 53:42and us. Then a friend of mine suggested
- 53:45that do a budget for the kids. And I'll tell you what, it'd
- 53:48spend a lot less money when they know they have a budget.
- 53:52And I forgot, I forgot what we gave the kids for a budget, 250
- 53:55bucks, I don't know, something like that.
- 53:57And I can just remember Jill wanting to, you know, Jill is
- 54:00the one that wants to pick up everything in every store.
- 54:03And instead of doing that, I noticed a change.
- 54:06She'd pick a couple things up. And I'd say, OK, well, think
- 54:08about it. Because, you know, you have your
- 54:10budget, so you want to make sure you don't overspend in the first
- 54:13day or two. Oh, that's true, Dad.
- 54:15OK, I'm going to wait. So it works, but you got to
- 54:20stick to it. Yes, yeah, yeah, you.
- 54:23Should do that for fun. Get get get Finley used to this
- 54:27thing. Hey Finley, you have $100 to
- 54:29spend, 150 bucks to spend. Let's see how you spend it.
- 54:33That's right, yeah. Do you buy one big thing or do
- 54:36you wait until the end? You know what I used to do, You
- 54:41know what I used to do? And I, I assumed Tammy followed
- 54:44suit with me, is if we were there, we usually went to Disney
- 54:47for 10 days. So what we would do is for the
- 54:50first half a week at least, we'd hardly buy anything.
- 54:54I want to scout it out. I want to scout out what magic
- 54:57that I want to scout what Epcot had.
- 54:59Oh, hey, what does Hollywood have?
- 55:01We're coming back to these parks.
- 55:02So let's make mental notes so we don't just bye, bye, bye.
- 55:06And then, you know, halfway through the trip, you're like,
- 55:08oh, I already spent so much. And I like this thing, too.
- 55:11Yeah. It just kind of kind of browse
- 55:13for a bit. Yeah, yeah, Mike, Hello.
- 55:17Good to see you, Mike, another member of the Disney Streamer
- 55:20Network on Magic Adventures. They'll be out there in the
- 55:24parks soon. We spoke about this earlier by
- 55:29Disney Merch before your trip pin trading packs so you can buy
- 55:38bulk pins online instead of paying.
- 55:42It says my notes say $10 plus each in the parks.
- 55:45What are what are, what are pins now that you're seeing so?
- 55:51It depends what you know, a starter pack.
- 55:53I think a starter pack with a lanyard and like 4 gosh, I can't
- 55:59remember what those I don't want to say 25 bucks.
- 56:02I'll I'll I'll say it's gonna be a range give or take.
- 56:05That's like 30 bucks give or take for a starter pack.
- 56:08But if you're looking at something like say the Dapper
- 56:11Dans, like the kid, the Disney characters have some Dapper Dan
- 56:14ones. There might be 4 of them on
- 56:15there, four or five. I think.
- 56:16It depends on what it is. But when you get a little group
- 56:19like that on a flat back of cardboard, 35 bucks or so to get
- 56:25a starter like that. Yeah, so just think about about
- 56:30that. Skip the bubble wands, as I
- 56:33said, go get yourself some glow sticks.
- 56:36Light up toys, bring bubbles, regular bubbles from home and
- 56:43memory maker alternatives. Now I am a fan of Memory Maker
- 56:47or Photo Pass. I think that's been one of the
- 56:50best investments that we've made.
- 56:52So we are three annual pass holders.
- 56:55Only one has to have the memory maker in order to use it.
- 56:59And then everybody that's connected as family and friends
- 57:01gets to scan their magic band and they'll see the pictures
- 57:07with the watermark, but the person who has the photo pass
- 57:10can get them without the watermark and you can download
- 57:13all those pictures. I think we've taken way more
- 57:15pictures than we ever would have.
- 57:19And Catherine loves the fact that then we are all in the
- 57:22pictures together. And it's not mom taking the
- 57:25pictures, you know, of the kids with dad.
- 57:28It's all of us together. They'll do as many
- 57:33professionally done. They just got all brand new
- 57:35cameras. They'll do as many poses as you
- 57:39want, as many family breakdowns as you want, and they have magic
- 57:43shots. You're not going to get magic
- 57:45shots with your phone, so you have that as well.
- 57:50Plus you get the ride photos included in that.
- 57:54So make sure to take advantage of that.
- 57:55But there are alternatives if you don't want to get that,
- 57:58especially if you're doing just this is a three day, four day
- 58:01trip. It's actually more expensive for
- 58:05the photo pass for that configuration that it is for an
- 58:08annual pass. Annual pass it's $99.00 for a
- 58:11four day trip. I think it's like one 69179,
- 58:14something like that. Wow.
- 58:16And you know there's another way, too.
- 58:19Disney's kind enough to allow the cast members to hold your
- 58:22phone and take the photo for you at no charge.
- 58:25Yeah, so that's our alternative. Ask the Photo Pass photographers
- 58:31to take the photo for you. They'll do a great job.
- 58:35They're professional and they have no problem doing that, so
- 58:40yeah. As locals and annual pass
- 58:43holders, we, we stopped getting it used to be included in your
- 58:47annual pass. And then two or three years ago
- 58:49when they decided to charge us $99.00, we gave it a long
- 58:54thought and we decided not to buy it because I based it on
- 59:00previous years. We're taking all these pictures
- 59:02every day and we're hardly ever going back and even looking at
- 59:06them or saving them, you know, but we're in a different boat.
- 59:10This is about vacations. But you know, so we see
- 59:13something funny, you know, you'll send it to me or
- 59:17something, or, or Greg will send it to me or Jen W will send it.
- 59:22And it's just a laugh for a moment.
- 59:23I I don't like keep them, keep them.
- 59:25But but yeah, certainly think of that.
- 59:31You know, if you don't want to buy the memory maker because
- 59:33you're only going for a short time, just ask the photo Pass
- 59:37cast members. And actually I saw on on stream
- 59:41today on Theme Park Giant, he was.
- 59:45He offered to take a picture of this family.
- 59:47He was going to take a picture with Neil, the piano player and
- 59:52they were all kind of awkward because he's standing behind the
- 59:55railing and all that. So he that offer offered to take
- 59:58the picture and then the cast member from Casey's came over
- 1:00:01and said, no, I got it, I got it.
- 1:00:03And they took the. So even regular cast members,
- 1:00:06even if they're not photo passed will offer to take the picture
- 1:00:10for you. So, or you know, you find
- 1:00:13Catherine walking by you, she'll take the picture for you no
- 1:00:16problem, especially if you're a group of Canadians.
- 1:00:20Singing the the national anthem. I don't understand when I'm all
- 1:00:24plugged in, you know, connected to a battery long wire by my
- 1:00:28hip. I've got a gamble.
- 1:00:30I, I, I don't have a free hand and people come over and say,
- 1:00:33would you take a picture for, with, for us?
- 1:00:37And I kind of look at him like I, I can't.
- 1:00:41That happened when we were waiting for Starlight the other
- 1:00:43night. Poor guy came over.
- 1:00:45He's like, take a picture of us in our family.
- 1:00:47And I'm like, I really can't I and I've done it before, but
- 1:00:52when I'm all connected, I'm like, no, but Jacob will.
- 1:00:54So Jacob did it. But it's just it's just a little
- 1:00:58funny for me. I'm like, why do people stop me
- 1:01:00when I'm walking, talking, streaming, you know, hands are
- 1:01:03full. Yeah, USC, Grace says take take
- 1:01:09pictures with your phone, but don't record the fireworks
- 1:01:13shows. We have streamers for that.
- 1:01:15I'm I'm good with that, especially if you.
- 1:01:17Especially if. You're going to do this.
- 1:01:20Oh gosh, you know, you know what it is?
- 1:01:22No, people will never stop it because they want their version.
- 1:01:26I. Record this correct?
- 1:01:28You know, and, and I get it. So that'll never stop.
- 1:01:31No, I get. Asked here's here's the one I do
- 1:01:33need people to stop today. Ready.
- 1:01:38I know what you're gonna do. Yes, please.
- 1:01:40Thank you so much. Oh, my.
- 1:01:43Listen, when Shirley says I look like a pro, definitely yes.
- 1:01:49When I'm on Main Street and I'm trying to stream fireworks and
- 1:01:53there's a glare of lights going off on my screen and everybody's
- 1:01:58heads are illuminated around me, it's like all I can do is look
- 1:02:00back and be like, no, no, don't you know, I think some people
- 1:02:07just don't know. So anybody that watched our live
- 1:02:09stream on Saturdays, did you all notice our ride?
- 1:02:12In a small world? There was a lady in front of us.
- 1:02:17She must have been the mom of a younger child.
- 1:02:20And she just kept the light on her child.
- 1:02:23She turned it on and turned to the side and she would, she
- 1:02:27would shine it at her, at her daughter, and she'd be laughing
- 1:02:32and smiling. And that maybe lasted about 10
- 1:02:34seconds. Then she turned it off.
- 1:02:36About 20 seconds would go by and then she would turn it on again
- 1:02:40and then she would turn it off. This went on the entire ride.
- 1:02:44So I have a spotlight on my on my gimbal and, and in the
- 1:02:48beginning of it I just, I turned it on.
- 1:02:50She didn't even notice, but I turned it on and then Shirley
- 1:02:53was sitting behind behind me. She turned on her phone too and
- 1:02:56pointed it towards the lady. And all the lady did was she
- 1:03:00just looked at me and smiled and waved and I smiled and waved.
- 1:03:03I said forget it, she's not getting it.
- 1:03:06Now your your phones are pretty good, especially, you know, I
- 1:03:10mean, I know they're called dark rides, but small world is not
- 1:03:13the darkest of rides. You'll be OK.
- 1:03:18Dylan Collins as we asked, Oh, I'm sorry, Dylan Collins says We
- 1:03:21asked someone to turn the light off and they acted like they we
- 1:03:25were the biggest jerks. No, you got to respect the dark
- 1:03:28rides. You got to respect them.
- 1:03:30I do my best as a streamer to always keep my lights dim and on
- 1:03:35Most attractions sit in the very back, so that I mean, even I
- 1:03:39even go to the length where let's take let's take two
- 1:03:42attractions that go completely dark.
- 1:03:45Carousel of progress goes completely dark.
- 1:03:47And even though I'm in the back, I I press I press the camera
- 1:03:51against my chest when it goes completely dark and then take it
- 1:03:55off actually fill our magic does it goes completely dark too.
- 1:03:59And I'll do the same thing. So and even tower of terror goes
- 1:04:03completely dark before you drop. So I'll hold that so I don't
- 1:04:07spoil, you know, the atmosphere, the ambiance for people.
- 1:04:11Try to do my best. Yeah, we were in Haunted Mansion
- 1:04:14one time. I was just Catherine and I, and
- 1:04:18there were these two girls somewhat in front of us, maybe 4
- 1:04:24dune buggies in front of us or so.
- 1:04:26And they just kept taking pictures with the flash.
- 1:04:30And then the friend would turn her, her flashlight on steady so
- 1:04:36that the other one could get more light.
- 1:04:37And I'm like, it's a dark ride. It's supposed to be dark, stop
- 1:04:42doing it. Yes.
- 1:04:44No flash photography please. It says it every time.
- 1:04:49So every time you get on the ride, the narrator says no flash
- 1:04:54photography please. Yes, exactly.
- 1:04:58You know, we spirits hate that. So yeah, just trying to do that.
- 1:05:06And again, we talked about this before.
- 1:05:08Things to buy prior Buy your shirts, your ears, your
- 1:05:12accessories. They're cheaper outside the
- 1:05:14parks. Buy ponchos if the If ponchos
- 1:05:18are your thing, don't buy are. You a poncho person or are you a
- 1:05:25yeah, figure out right if you're a poncho person or are you a, an
- 1:05:30umbrella person? I don't think there's, you know,
- 1:05:33it's either you're an Ice Cream Sandwich guy or you're a an ice
- 1:05:36cream bar guy. You know, you're an umbrella
- 1:05:37person or you're a poncho person.
- 1:05:39I'm an umbrella person. I was a poncho person, however,
- 1:05:45I used to try it. Yeah.
- 1:05:47So we had rain. We have rain jackets and that
- 1:05:52remember that last storm during with Nick and Christina and
- 1:05:57Dianca? So we had rain jackets then and
- 1:06:03umbrellas. And I thought that was a lot
- 1:06:07more comfortable than the ponchos.
- 1:06:10So I think I have now switched to the rain jacket and a poncho
- 1:06:15or rain jacket and an umbrella, no poncho.
- 1:06:18Yeah. Our negative experience with the
- 1:06:19ponchos for us is it it runs down your poncho and it soaks
- 1:06:23the second-half of your legs anyway, which is fine if you
- 1:06:27have the right footwear and you're wearing shorts, but they
- 1:06:31seem to cut off and and soak the bottom quarter of your shorts.
- 1:06:35Yeah. And I hated that, so we we
- 1:06:39quickly got rid of them. Yeah, the rain jackets were
- 1:06:41better, way better than than the ponchos, like Catherine said.
- 1:06:46As I mentioned earlier, portable phone chargers, power banks,
- 1:06:50comfortable walking shoes, blister pads if you tend to get
- 1:06:53blisters. Listen, if you have new shoes,
- 1:06:57you better wear them in before you get to the parks.
- 1:07:00Don't do that at the parks. That's the wrong place to try
- 1:07:03and wear in some shoes autographed books and Sharpies.
- 1:07:09So if you're if you want to get signatures from the characters,
- 1:07:13make sure to get an autograph book and a sharpie.
- 1:07:17You can order it beforehand and not have to spend the money.
- 1:07:20Make sure they they prefer the the larger sharpies and
- 1:07:24especially if they are push button or push to click open
- 1:07:30sharpies. The characters prefer those over
- 1:07:33the others. But as long as they're a bigger
- 1:07:35Sharpie, that's good. And then cooling towels or
- 1:07:38handheld fans for the for the hot days bug bands?
- 1:07:44Greg's asking. About bug bands, there are no
- 1:07:46bugs in Disney. No, that's why Disneyland, they
- 1:07:49they can't get into the bubble. There's no, there's no bugs
- 1:07:52there. Yeah, there.
- 1:07:53Are no bugs in Disney? The only place I know of is if
- 1:07:56you stand really close to the water watching Luminous now and
- 1:08:02then, or if late night you're by the bushes at the entrance of
- 1:08:07Epcot. Other than that, I've never
- 1:08:09experienced any bugs, but maybe he has.
- 1:08:14You know the other thing quickly too, Aunt Anne Gilnack was
- 1:08:17talking about, yeah, Disney needs to ban putting your kids
- 1:08:20on your shoulders because it's very rude.
- 1:08:22Point blank, period rude. Don't put kids on your
- 1:08:26shoulders. It's a, it's a, it's a health
- 1:08:28hazard and but it's allowed. And and so they should just make
- 1:08:32an announcement that you can't do it.
- 1:08:35And that's it. I never did it.
- 1:08:37I'm you never did it. And, you know, the best I did
- 1:08:39was hold, you know, hold the child right here under my arm
- 1:08:42like this so their head level with me.
- 1:08:44Never raise them up like that. So yeah.
- 1:08:48I never felt, you know, comfortable putting Finley or I
- 1:08:53I doubt I even did it with Jay putting them on my shoulders to
- 1:08:57watch the show or or anything like that.
- 1:08:59I just. Yeah.
- 1:09:02I've done it with the kids, but like walking around the only,
- 1:09:05the only place I can think of, and it's because we have photos
- 1:09:08of it and I remember the photo is Gillette Stadium where the
- 1:09:10Patriots play. You know, we were walking around
- 1:09:12on game day and I had Jill up on my shoulders, I think.
- 1:09:15But other than that, other than that, no.
- 1:09:18Dylan says don't forget to pull your balloons down.
- 1:09:21Yes. So we had an incident where or a
- 1:09:25a situation where we showed up at Magic Park hopping not too
- 1:09:29long ago. You probably all you all
- 1:09:31probably remember this on stream and we got a really for showing
- 1:09:34up late for Starlight in the town square.
- 1:09:36We were able to get up on the porch and have a really good
- 1:09:39view, except for down below there was a stroller with a big
- 1:09:42balloon on it. So we had Shirley go down and
- 1:09:46she was nice enough to kind of take it and tuck it into the
- 1:09:49stroller. But definitely, you know, and
- 1:09:53I've seen people react around and on Main Street and things
- 1:09:55like that. If someone has a balloon up,
- 1:09:57just raise the awareness of the guest and, and ask them if they
- 1:10:00can bring, if they can pull it down.
- 1:10:02And I've seen, I've seen everybody understand and get
- 1:10:06those, you know? You know, Magic Mike says don't
- 1:10:10stand right in front of a person on a scooter.
- 1:10:13Yeah, you would. You would think that's common
- 1:10:15sense. That's.
- 1:10:18True, but how far away? How far?
- 1:10:20What's what's the acceptable length?
- 1:10:22Yeah, because you know. That.
- 1:10:27That's the thing. You know, then feet.
- 1:10:29Or. On a stream I yesterday I saw
- 1:10:31the opposite. I saw somebody with a scooter
- 1:10:34get right in front of a person, but then they put up their
- 1:10:38umbrella for the sun and it was wide open.
- 1:10:43It was wide open, folks, so much room, and they just went right
- 1:10:47in front of them and then popped up their umbrella.
- 1:10:50I have to tell you about that. Later I try to do that though if
- 1:10:52I do see someone with a scooter, if I can move over, I will move
- 1:10:55over for that. Yeah.
- 1:10:57So, yeah, that's kind of what we what we have.
- 1:11:00We thought we would we would cover that tonight for all of
- 1:11:04you, you know, kind of a, a topic that you can use really
- 1:11:10whenever. So when, whenever you're like,
- 1:11:14hey, how can I save some money at Disney?
- 1:11:16Come back to this episode later on and find some some tips that
- 1:11:21are usable for you. It's Evergreen, right?
- 1:11:23So this is one that I can I can throw back whenever I'm live in
- 1:11:28the parks, you know, hey, if you're going to save money, you
- 1:11:30know, we have a great episode of that.

- 1:12:24SO Frontier Airlines, you know, they're no, no, no frills
- 1:12:32airline, right? Them spirit, whatever.
- 1:12:36Well, they have a pass, a seasonal pass 299 for like, I
- 1:12:42don't know, six months. I'm getting it for my birthday.
- 1:12:49Thanks to Catherine. Oh, just for you.
- 1:12:53Just for me. Boys day out.
- 1:12:58So I will be in the parks a lot more often.
- 1:13:03So be be prepared to see see more of me in the parks.
- 1:13:07Awesome, love it. Because when you're not having
- 1:13:10to pay for the the ticket, I mean, at that point, I'm not
- 1:13:14paying for a park ticket, I'm not paying for a plane ticket.
- 1:13:17I just got to get to the air from the airport to the park and
- 1:13:21back 32 bucks. So there might even be days
- 1:13:26where if like if there's something special going on, I'm
- 1:13:30there for a 7:00 flight, stay the day and then leave in the
- 1:13:3510:00 flight home. So we'll see how that works.
- 1:13:39I want to. I want to see you do it.
- 1:13:42Live vicariously through you. When is your birthday?
- 1:13:48Oh mine, October 3rd. So it's it's coming up.
- 1:13:52What's your countdown for your cruise?
- 1:13:55Oh, goodness, we got to be less than 40 or right at 40, I think.
- 1:14:03Yeah, got to got to start doing that.
- 1:14:05That's going to be a fun episode to come back and recap the the
- 1:14:08cruise. Yeah.
- 1:14:10I can't wait to hear. Yeah.
- 1:14:12What's the count? It is.
- 1:14:16Come on. We'll just listen to the
- 1:14:21background music while we're waiting.
- 1:14:22Super. It's super long, but we are less
- 1:14:26than a year to go now. 38 days. I can beat that.
- 1:14:35I can beat it. Let.
- 1:14:37Me say. I'll do mine before we get out
- 1:14:39of here. Going through all the facial
- 1:14:42recognition stuff, still thinking.
- 1:14:47Still thinking? Oh, Dylan.
- 1:14:52Yeah, e-mail me if you have. If you have something, e-mail me
- 1:14:58thedyspod@gmail.com. Yeah, I'd like to check that
- 1:15:02out. I can get a code.
- 1:15:04Tomorrow. For the credit card, wow, 16
- 1:15:08bucks. Yeah, it'll be here before you
- 1:15:12know it. But both of those trips, really.
- 1:15:14Because you know, I know yours seems far away, but you know it.
- 1:15:21It's the holidays are coming up. It you're going to be busy.
- 1:15:26Football, before you know it, it'll be here.
- 1:15:30Yeah. I mean, fantasy football is a
- 1:15:32huge hobby of mine. I'm into that so many hours
- 1:15:35every day. So there's that.
- 1:15:37You know, the holidays are coming like you said, and this
- 1:15:42is this, this, this cruise. As excited as I am about it,
- 1:15:45it's just in the background because I'm still focused on
- 1:15:47Disneyland. Like that's first.
- 1:15:51Yeah. So that's a smaller countdown,
- 1:15:52but I don't, we haven't. Booked an actual date.
- 1:15:54Yet, but we know it's like the first week of June, so but 322
- 1:16:01days to go there we go for our first Disney Cruise, Dylan says.
- 1:16:08Best deal ever they don't have. Wi-Fi, but I'll take.
- 1:16:11Cheap flights and free bags? Absolutely.
- 1:16:14And Southwest announced that they are now.
- 1:16:20Doing free Wi-Fi I. Can't remember when that starts,
- 1:16:23I think in October. So if you fly Southwest, you
- 1:16:26don't have to buy the Wi-Fi anymore.
- 1:16:27So nice. That's a that's another nice
- 1:16:31little, little perk there. So good deal.
- 1:16:34Yeah. So hopefully that helps you.
- 1:16:38If it does, let us know in the comments.
- 1:16:39If it doesn't, let us know in the comments.
- 1:16:41If you have money saving tips that we didn't touch on, put it
- 1:16:46in the comments. Let us let us know because
- 1:16:48people will go back and look at this and they, they may be able
- 1:16:51to get some help from all of you.
- 1:16:53So yeah, make sure to make sure to, you know, pass it on.
- 1:16:59Help a help a friend. Share the love that's right
- 1:17:03tomorrow. Is.
- 1:17:05Magic tomorrow is magic. Tomorrow is magic.
- 1:17:12We're at Magic. The now the times have changed.
- 1:17:14We've got Starlight at 8, right? And happily ever after at 9 and
- 1:17:21a 10:00 Starlight and the park is closed, correct.
- 1:17:27Correct. Yeah.
- 1:17:27So that's that's. Real interesting right there.
- 1:17:30That's yeah. So you had some kind of what
- 1:17:33I'll call bonus time for a little bit.
- 1:17:36Yeah, where you were able to make that last run to 7 doors
- 1:17:40mine train, which worked out most of the time, but now
- 1:17:44they're closing. We'll always have the core
- 1:17:45memories. That's right.
- 1:17:46We'll always have the core memories.
- 1:17:47That's right. So yeah, they're closing at at
- 1:17:4910 for now. We'll see, We'll see, see what
- 1:17:54happens on the weekend. Saturday it's 11 so but then the
- 1:17:59following Saturday it's 10:00. I don't.
- 1:18:01Know make sure to look at. The app because it changes, it
- 1:18:06does. It does and Saturdays we are out
- 1:18:08at. Epcot, Korean BBQ Wings,
- 1:18:13Morocco. Wrap.
- 1:18:15Do you want to know ahead of time what what I'm targeting?
- 1:18:18Sure, right. I'll make sure.
- 1:18:21I'll I'll decide and let. You know, but those are the two
- 1:18:24things. I'm targeting for sure.
- 1:18:25We gotta work some desserts in there.
- 1:18:27It will be. There'll be no LID family on
- 1:18:30this Saturday. On a rare Saturday.
- 1:18:32That's right. Yeah.
- 1:18:33It's Jacob's annual homecoming. His final homecoming.
- 1:18:37So Tammy's gonna get him there and pick him up and drop him off
- 1:18:41for that. So I'm going solo.
- 1:18:44Shirley will be joining me because there's food.
- 1:18:49No, that's not the only reason. That's not the only reason.
- 1:18:52But she's been, she's been, she's been really wanting to
- 1:18:56know. When I'm going again and.
- 1:18:57That's a good day to attack some some foods over there.
- 1:19:03Will. What about the following?
- 1:19:04Saturday. Where you going to be?
- 1:19:07OK, you're asking me this and I know you way too.
- 1:19:09Well, so you're going to be there.
- 1:19:11Oh, oh, I was. Going to say you're going to be
- 1:19:13there, aren't you? No, no, no, I was going to say
- 1:19:16it won't matter. Launch Bay, I was thinking if
- 1:19:20you would get to see launch Bay before before it closes, but
- 1:19:24unless you went next Wednesday now.
- 1:19:26Oh OK, I'm undecided about. The following Saturdays on oh,
- 1:19:32wait a minute, wait a minute. No, no, no.
- 1:19:34We know for sure that is we'll be at Magic.
- 1:19:37We're going to be back in Magic because Steve Bullock is going
- 1:19:40to be there. Oh, very, very nice, very cool
- 1:19:43man Steve's going to get to. See, let me tell you something.
- 1:19:48I Sharon talked about it the other night on Zoom call.
- 1:19:52When I watch Starlight on stream and the opening to Main Street
- 1:19:58Electrical Parade plays, I still get chills.
- 1:20:02Still get chills. Still remember?
- 1:20:05My first night. Getting there to see it for the
- 1:20:07dress rehearsal your first night, getting to see it in
- 1:20:10person and us standing there with my friend Stephanie and
- 1:20:14Shirley and your whole family still get chills.
- 1:20:18It's that that parade is one of the coolest things that they've
- 1:20:21given us in a long time. Yep, still get the chills.
- 1:20:26Big smiles on my face. I'm just loving it each and
- 1:20:29every time. It's it's so colorful and I'm
- 1:20:34just enjoying every, every second of that thing.
- 1:20:37Launch Bay I believe closes on the 25th.
- 1:20:41OK. And then people don't be.
- 1:20:44Flooding launch Bay Area and be bad.
- 1:20:49There's gonna be a 45 minute wait for the dance party.
- 1:20:54Listen. You want to know one of?
- 1:20:55You want to know one reason why I created?
- 1:20:57The podcast so I could complain. I don't like to complain in the
- 1:21:00parks when I'm live. This is when you can get on that
- 1:21:02soapbox. So come on, people.
- 1:21:04No, no, don't shed tears. Don't wait in an hour and a half
- 1:21:09line to meet Chewie. Stop, just stop.
- 1:21:13I think I think that is. I'm excited for monsters for
- 1:21:18sure. Monsters Land.
- 1:21:22But I think Monsters land has a little bit of negative there
- 1:21:25because we lost Muppets to in order to get monsters here,
- 1:21:29we're losing launch Bay to get the magic of Disney animation.
- 1:21:34That's that that's big like that is a win, folks.
- 1:21:39Believe me. That's when and it's happening
- 1:21:41in one year. We it's gonna be open by like.
- 1:21:46September of next year. That is huge.
- 1:21:50That's huge. So yeah, listen, that's a way
- 1:21:54I'm going to sound uneducated on purpose.
- 1:21:57Launch Bay ain't no. Thing, it ain't no thing.
- 1:22:01Hey, hey, core memory though. Core memory.
- 1:22:05In that spot for you, yes, and I'll remember it.
- 1:22:11That's the magic of memories. That's.
- 1:22:12Right. And yes, let me think.
- 1:22:14Let me think then, since we're since we're visiting this launch
- 1:22:16Bay memories. Hey, if you all have those
- 1:22:20comment below. I mean, you know, after this is
- 1:22:23done, whatever comment in in the chat to share with our people.
- 1:22:26But core memories for launch Bay, the biggest 1 Ashley
- 1:22:32Eckstein. If anyone doesn't know, Ashley
- 1:22:33Eckstein is the voice of Ahsoka Tano in the Clone wars and then
- 1:22:38some. She's actually the voice of the
- 1:22:43fairy at the beginning of Starlight as well.
- 1:22:46Oh, I did not know that. Wow, OK.
- 1:22:53Yep. She took over the stream for us.
- 1:22:56When when we met her and talked to our audience, there is a huge
- 1:23:04mural over there. And I guess.
- 1:23:06I should probably if we're, I don't know if we're going to be
- 1:23:09back to Hollywood before Launch Bay closes now, but I used to do
- 1:23:14all the voices I could find on that beautiful mural, you know,
- 1:23:19so did that. Other memories I.
- 1:23:22Mean they used to show a movie. There's a Little Theatre in
- 1:23:27there. You ever go to it?
- 1:23:30I I don't think I've ever been there.
- 1:23:33There's a little. And it's located when you come
- 1:23:36through the main. Entrance and you had kind of
- 1:23:38have to bare right a little bit and then a left to go down and
- 1:23:42see all the models and everything.
- 1:23:44Just before that there's a set of doors on your right, I'm
- 1:23:46sorry on your left and there's a theater in there and they just
- 1:23:50stopped using it. Last it was used was when Rogue
- 1:23:54One was was being made. There was like a an update on
- 1:23:59Rogue one. You know, maybe it was a 15
- 1:24:01minute video or something like that, but a lot of a lot of a
- 1:24:05lot of fun to watch that love going in and seeing the models
- 1:24:09in there and there was a really cool Star Wars store in there so
- 1:24:15oh, and. Yeah, I'll say another core.
- 1:24:19Memory that's fun over there is they used to have Jawas walking
- 1:24:22around and the kids could trade metal their scraps for whatever
- 1:24:29the Jawas had for scraps. And of course they always had
- 1:24:32some cool stuff for scraps. So we would bring things like
- 1:24:35paper clips and things like that, and the kids would
- 1:24:38actually trade with them. I can't remember what they gave
- 1:24:41them, but they'd give them something cool.
- 1:24:43So yeah, a few Launch Bay memories out there, but we're
- 1:24:48ready to get rid of that for something better.
- 1:24:50Yeah. I think what we're getting in
- 1:24:52that spot is, is going to be really, really.
- 1:24:54Cool for sure. I think we need to do like an
- 1:25:01episode towards the end of the season based on the updates that
- 1:25:07we're getting for next year and all that.
- 1:25:10I thought you were going to say like, you know, at the end of
- 1:25:13the year. When you watch the Oscars, they
- 1:25:17play the sad music and you see everyone that passed away.
- 1:25:20Like, are we going to see, you know, Black and white photo of
- 1:25:23Tom Sawyer Island and then Liberty Bell Muppets 3D?
- 1:25:28That is a good idea, though. Yeah, right.
- 1:25:31Come on now. The things we lost in 20. 25
- 1:25:34That is a good idea you heard? You heard that here first.
- 1:25:39Everyone, if you see it, the planning, good stuff, OK.
- 1:25:50Well, I would like to end the show, but I.
- 1:25:53Don't have mine you having too. Much fun well, I am yes, but my
- 1:25:56mouse is not working so so I may not be able to all right we're
- 1:26:00just we're just going to walk off I'm.
- 1:26:12Back. I don't know how to end the
- 1:26:15show. Guys, stick with us.
- 1:26:17Hold on. What if?
- 1:26:18What if you just shut the computer off?
- 1:26:21Let's do that. What is he doing?
- 1:26:24I don't know. Now I have the floor.
- 1:26:27Oh my. What will I do?
- 1:26:29Well, we're going to do some pin trading tomorrow night.
- 1:26:31Everyone. We are going to.
- 1:26:35I don't know if we'll get a snack tomorrow.
- 1:26:37Bonus episode. Yeah, bonus.
- 1:26:40Right. Welcome.
- 1:26:41To the bonus episode everybody we.
- 1:26:42Figure out how to end the show. Did you?
- 1:26:47No, I think I have to. Plug my mouse.
- 1:26:48In. I mean, the mouse always works
- 1:26:52better when it's power. Oh, let's talk.
- 1:26:54Beacon barrel, Oh, you know what I did not talk beacon barrel.
- 1:26:58I can give a quick, quick review of that for those of you that
- 1:27:01did not see the live stream the other night.
- 1:27:04So listen the atmosphere 5 out of five mickeys, no problem with
- 1:27:09it love it. The imagineers did an amazing
- 1:27:12job. Now we didn't see any of the
- 1:27:16activities, the active stuff. We didn't see the the bottles
- 1:27:20with the ships in it that occasionally shoot at each other
- 1:27:25are trying to keep an ear open for something, but I don't think
- 1:27:29that and none of that went off and we I don't think we saw
- 1:27:32Remy. I the reason why I didn't like
- 1:27:34where we were sitting. It wasn't the best place to sit
- 1:27:37because we couldn't see Remy if he came out.
- 1:27:40I you know, so I don't know if that really happened.
- 1:27:45So anyway, overall the atmosphere is amazing.
- 1:27:48There's a couple of little alcoves that are really cool.
- 1:27:53The food, listen, we hyped up the octopus salad.
- 1:27:56Don't get it, don't get it. I mean, first time having
- 1:28:00octopus, Jacob and I, it was very chewy.
- 1:28:03It there was no taste to it in my opinion at all.
- 1:28:07If I knew that going ahead, I probably wouldn't have had it.
- 1:28:11I was visibly, how visibly upset did I look when the tentacle
- 1:28:16wasn't hanging out of that cup? I honestly I thought I was going
- 1:28:21to have to go to AB right back screen.
- 1:28:23Because, yeah, he was quite upset, folks.
- 1:28:27And I was like, so I was like standing here ready.
- 1:28:31Well, that's that computer. But I was, I was ready.
- 1:28:34Like, OK, what am I going to have to do?
- 1:28:37I think he's going to curse this cast member then the poor.
- 1:28:42Cast. Member he he like.
- 1:28:44He came out of character quick. And he was like, OK, he's not.
- 1:28:47He's not very happy, but I tried to lighten with him quickly
- 1:28:50because it's not his fault. But for me, it's about Disney.
- 1:28:54I'm like, are you serious? I've been pumping this thing up
- 1:28:56all week and you can't come out with a tentacle hanging out of
- 1:29:00this thing. Like, how do we run out of
- 1:29:01those? So I was, I mean, there's 8,
- 1:29:06there's 8 on every octopus you they should have.
- 1:29:08Had plenty yeah, I mean I it it really did come the.
- 1:29:13Reason why I paused. I was gonna just tell him to
- 1:29:16take it back, but when he said there was more, there was the
- 1:29:22actual, the real deal is the actual octopus is inside all
- 1:29:25chopped up. And I'm like, OK, all right, so
- 1:29:29we tried it. But you know, anybody would be
- 1:29:32upset if you if you're, if you're ordering something and it
- 1:29:35doesn't look like it. It, it does in the in the photos
- 1:29:39and you get it. You know, you have right, you
- 1:29:41have, you have right to, to question that.
- 1:29:43We did wait all day for that. So anyway, we moved on.
- 1:29:46It wasn't very good. I would not recommend that at
- 1:29:50all. But the corn, the cornbread with
- 1:29:56the chicken in the middle was really good.
- 1:29:59Five out of five. I got the Ubait Jacob and I got
- 1:30:02both non alcoholic drinks. We loved both of those.
- 1:30:05Five out of five. The chicken was 5 out of five.
- 1:30:10I mean, how good can chips and three dips be?
- 1:30:13They were as good as they could be, and Shirley got that too.
- 1:30:16So besides the octopus nail, we got everything on the menu.
- 1:30:20Everything was great. But the dessert, the walk the
- 1:30:22plank, don't, don't get that. There's no taste.
- 1:30:27And I normally don't tell you outright don't get something,
- 1:30:29but I'm telling you it has no taste.
- 1:30:31So don't get it. Just get the drink.
- 1:30:34Just get the drink and you want to be choosy with what you get
- 1:30:38too because there is a time limit and I've never felt more
- 1:30:41pressured than there, you know, they told us the rules and what
- 1:30:47to. Expect before we went.
- 1:30:48In and then we sit down and the cast member waiter, who did a
- 1:30:55great job of being a pirate because they all have to act
- 1:30:58like pirates. He's explaining the rules again.
- 1:31:01And in my head, I'm going, OK, the timer is going right now.
- 1:31:04And you're telling me the same thing she did out there.
- 1:31:09So, you know, and then I think the time should not start until
- 1:31:12you get your food, not as soon as you get through the door.
- 1:31:16And poor Jacob didn't even come close to finishing his drink.
- 1:31:19He was trying to eat everything and he had to really kind of
- 1:31:22gulp it down. And that's not enjoyable.
- 1:31:24So I'm hoping the time limit goes away.
- 1:31:27So All in all, don't get the octopus.
- 1:31:31Pick one thing that you want to eat and go with that.
- 1:31:34Go with a drink, sip and enjoy the atmosphere and the 45
- 1:31:37minutes will be fine. We just happened to order
- 1:31:41everything on the menu and tried to review it for everybody.
- 1:31:43So. So that's I'll go again.
- 1:31:45We'll go again, yeah. That's certainly something to
- 1:31:48keep in mind. Right.
- 1:31:49I mean it's. It it's really about the drinks.
- 1:31:52I do think the 45 minute time limit will go away at some
- 1:31:56point. It's just brand new and people
- 1:31:58have been waiting a long time for this.
- 1:32:00And as soon as reservations drop, which I don't understand
- 1:32:04how they get more reservations like the other day they dropped
- 1:32:09every day in September and October.
- 1:32:12There were reservations, but there were only two or and there
- 1:32:16were a couple that were three and so I found one that was 3/4
- 1:32:22Lily's life. So they're going to be going, I
- 1:32:24can't remember what it is next week, but like what did they
- 1:32:30find? 2 stools.
- 1:32:31They were like, Oh yeah, we have two extra stools every day.
- 1:32:34Like just, it's weird. But anyway, the time limit will
- 1:32:39go away. So that'll make it a.
- 1:32:40Little bit better. But there is some you know that
- 1:32:44you certainly have a reason to return.
- 1:32:46You didn't see a lot of the entertainment there.
- 1:32:50Plus each booth is supposed to be based on a different pirate.
- 1:32:55So. OK, I didn't know that.
- 1:32:57Yeah. So there's a story behind.
- 1:32:59Just about each booth that you go.
- 1:33:01Into but let me also say the time limit.
- 1:33:04I don't think it started until you sat down because I had the
- 1:33:10timer going on. Yes, you did.
- 1:33:12Without the I didn't have it showing on the screen, but I
- 1:33:15started. It.
- 1:33:16Right when you walked in and we would have been done, we'd have
- 1:33:20been at 0 like 2 or 3 minutes, 4 minutes, something like that
- 1:33:24beforehand. So I don't think it started
- 1:33:26until your waiter, your server came.
- 1:33:29But OK, it it's a couple minutes at, you know, at some point I
- 1:33:34think. That.
- 1:33:34Limit will go away, Yeah, because we had the time limit
- 1:33:38for GO-82 and I felt we. Had a really relaxing
- 1:33:42experience. I don't remember time limit.
- 1:33:44There was a there was a stated time limit at Goa.
- 1:33:46Two, yeah, we had a 45. Yeah, don't remember that at
- 1:33:51all. Yeah, maybe Shirley can confirm
- 1:33:54that with me and. Chat, I'm pretty sure.
- 1:33:57We had a time limit there and it was very comfortable.
- 1:33:59It was. We didn't feel rushed, you know,
- 1:34:01but we didn't get as much food. But we kind of did.
- 1:34:05We kind of did. Catherine got something.
- 1:34:07Yeah. We, Shirley and I split the
- 1:34:10charcuterie board plus something else, I think.
- 1:34:14But it's also a more relaxed atmosphere.
- 1:34:18Than the pirate atmosphere, high energy, you know, GO-82 is like
- 1:34:25smooth. So I think that that mentally,
- 1:34:30you know, changes your the time limit.
- 1:34:35Yeah, Yeah. I didn't.
- 1:34:36I didn't remember that. Catherine says it was a time
- 1:34:38limit. Yeah, we had one.
- 1:34:40Yeah, good to know. So you didn't even know?
- 1:34:42Didn't even know. Didn't even know.
- 1:34:46No. Am I more likely to go to GO-82?
- 1:34:48Again or beacon barrel, I would say you would go to beacon
- 1:34:54barrel. Yeah, I would say so.
- 1:34:56I don't think I'm done with it for sure.
- 1:34:58I think next. Time.
- 1:34:59You know, I could go for the cornbread chicken again and the
- 1:35:03drink was nice and we were amazed at how cold that that mug
- 1:35:07was the entire time It was freezing.
- 1:35:09But they they pack it with ice. So I next time would say, you
- 1:35:13know, can I have, you know, like a small amount of ice compared
- 1:35:18to what light ice? I guess I'd like some light ice
- 1:35:22please. And you might not need it
- 1:35:23because I think they freeze the mugs.
- 1:35:25So you'll, you'll be fine in the span of 45 minutes.
- 1:35:29So yeah, I'd like to go back and relax and kind of take it all in
- 1:35:32again. We get to sit then that they
- 1:35:35will sit you with others. And they sat us with a young
- 1:35:38lady and I pulled her right into the stream and she had fun.
- 1:35:41She had fun. She texted her friends that she
- 1:35:42was on and she went right into a food review or or drink review
- 1:35:46for us for the Margarita. She was great.
- 1:35:49I thought that was weird though, like when you guys.
- 1:35:52Got there and she was there. I'm like, she's sitting at this
- 1:35:56big old booth by herself, you know?
- 1:35:59I wonder for how long in her head did she go?
- 1:36:01I got this whole booth to myself.
- 1:36:03Like, no, sorry, that wasn't going to happen.
- 1:36:07Yeah. So I wanted to move to make her
- 1:36:08feel real comfortable right away.
- 1:36:10And it's good that. She was, she was open to it and
- 1:36:13we had a good time. We had a good time.
- 1:36:16I mean, she and I talked like we were old friends.
- 1:36:18We had a good time. So she was a good sport, but she
- 1:36:21left and then they sat a couple next to us and they were a
- 1:36:24little bit Snooty. They were a little Snooty over
- 1:36:26there. She had Disneyland gear on, and
- 1:36:29I'm like, oh, you from the land? No, we just prefer it.
- 1:36:33Well, excuse me, you're in Disney World right now.
- 1:36:36And then, and then we hear boom boom boom, 'cause when?
- 1:36:39You're away from. The music of happily ever after.
- 1:36:42And you're even, even if you're in the outside queue at mine
- 1:36:46train, you hear boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 1:36:49It just the sound echoes through.
- 1:36:52And one of us said, oh, the fireworks started.
- 1:36:56She goes, yeah, that's happily ever after.
- 1:36:59And I looked around. Thanks lady.
- 1:37:03You want me to sing it for? You is it?
- 1:37:05Yeah. Oh, is it?
- 1:37:08Meanwhile. In in Corey's head, he's he's
- 1:37:10standing. Behind the castle going, knowing
- 1:37:13which which way to turn to catch them all.
- 1:37:15Yes, we we, we are aware. We ate at What is the name of
- 1:37:22Beating the Beast dinner. Why?
- 1:37:27Why would we both go? Blank at the same time.
- 1:37:29What kind of hosts are we? What kind of Disney people are
- 1:37:31we? Cinderella's Royal Table and.
- 1:37:36Somebody in chat's going to get it before we do.
- 1:37:39Anyway, we were. Eating there and we had a late
- 1:37:42reservation and we could hear and it's loud.
- 1:37:47Like especially that far back because that's where all the big
- 1:37:50ones are. It is loud.
- 1:37:53Beauty and the Beast. I know this is the bonus stuff
- 1:38:03right here. One last thing I'll say is we're
- 1:38:06talking about people like that and this guy was just trying to
- 1:38:10be helpful. But when when when you know your
- 1:38:12stuff. So I'm behind the castle the
- 1:38:14other night and I happily ever after starts and I'm facing I
- 1:38:19got the camera facing the castle because the 1st fireworks are
- 1:38:24the castle and the guy next to me goes oh the fireworks are
- 1:38:28going. To be over here.
- 1:38:30Behind the counter I'm streaming this.
- 1:38:36Like it's not my first time I'm. Like, no, they're going to be
- 1:38:39over here too. He's like, well, they're going
- 1:38:41to be over there. What did you know?
- 1:38:43That guy studied me the entire show and was turning when I
- 1:38:47turned, you know, I would turn to the back and then I'd flip
- 1:38:50over to the side and he'd look at me and then he'd look over to
- 1:38:52the side and he's like, oh, who knows what he was thinking at
- 1:38:56that point. Yeah, he's probably thinking I
- 1:38:58probably shouldn't have told him that.
- 1:39:02Yeah, we got this. We got.
- 1:39:03This. Oh yeah.
- 1:39:04Be our guest, of course. Yeah.
- 1:39:08I should have just started singing in.
- 1:39:09My head and I would have figured it out.
- 1:39:11Do you know how to end this? Thing yet yeah we're good we're
- 1:39:13good I can I. Can put up comments my.
- 1:39:16My it's working again now. So there you go.
- 1:39:20All right again. If you're listening live
- 1:39:23watching live right now, we are live tomorrow at Magic Kingdom,
- 1:39:26so definitely check that out. Head over there and and hit the
- 1:39:29like button. If you haven't hit the like
- 1:39:31button on there, we'll do another we'll do another goal to
- 1:39:36open up another mystery Disney pin pack.
- 1:39:40I think that's been going very well.
- 1:39:41It's been a lot of fun and we are going after the mugs.
- 1:39:47We're going after the pin mugs right now.
- 1:39:49I used to collect mugs, now I collect pins.
- 1:39:52Tomorrow we're going to pursue some more pin mugs.
- 1:39:55So, Sharon, I would have just just went outside and pulled
- 1:39:59the. The Internet wire from the from
- 1:40:02the main box just just kill the whole.
- 1:40:05That's right, Magical Mike says Mic drop.
- 1:40:08Aw, we love you too, Michelle. None of this will be on the
- 1:40:12audio podcast, by the way. This is a thank you.
- 1:40:15That's a true benefit, too. Yeah.
- 1:40:17All of you watching on YouTube. Yeah, you're really watching a
- 1:40:21live recording of this. It doesn't go out.
- 1:40:23Completely like this on on Spotify and all those Apple
- 1:40:26Music and Amazon and iHeartRadio.
- 1:40:29So yeah. And says as usual, great dyspod
- 1:40:33gentlemen. So we'll be chasing the the
- 1:40:35Disney character mug pin set 2467.
- 1:40:39We have 7 out of 16 already. So I'm thinking let's see what
- 1:40:45the next pack gives us and we'll decide if we need to buy one
- 1:40:48more or we trade those. Those double S Epcot's going to
- 1:40:53be fun. If you think about Epcot coming
- 1:40:55up, well, you are so still you weren't even moving.
- 1:40:59I'm like, is he frozen? Are you Elsa?
- 1:41:04We have enough ammo to listen. This is going to be my goal when
- 1:41:09we go to Epcot on Saturdays. There's a big trading hub there
- 1:41:13and I have more ammo this time like we have one popsicle.
- 1:41:17No more ice cream to to to get. We have one more.
- 1:41:21Is it one more trash can, 246810124.
- 1:41:25It's only a minimal amount of trash cans we need left, and we
- 1:41:28may only need just a few of the mugs.
- 1:41:32So let's see what we can complete on Saturdays as well.
- 1:41:37Nice. Yeah.
- 1:41:38So it'll be fun. All right, let's end this thing.
- 1:41:41All right. Thank you all for being here,
- 1:41:42everyone. I hope this episode was helpful
- 1:41:45and educational. And until then, we're just a
- 1:41:47couple of Bros talking Disney. Good night, everybody.
- 1:41:50Where the? Magic's here to stay.
