- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome into Off the Bench, presented by All-Star Toyota.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Ooh, you're scary. We're bringing you the.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Spookiest sports talk in town. With Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Terrifying and terrible. Live from the haunted Raising Cane's studio,
- 0:23Speaker 2: here's Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn. Oh, my God. Yo,
- 0:34Speaker 2: and welcome in.
- 0:35Speaker 3: It is OTB. Spooky lady, we're not in the Raising
- 0:40Speaker 3: Cane studio.
- 0:41Speaker 2: She's silly.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Alondra and Tay-Tay are in the Raising Cane studio. We're
- 0:48Speaker 3: here at Rouse's. A football Friday at Rouse's. Jake and
- 0:52Speaker 3: Flynn here. Alondra and Tay-Tay at Rouse's.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Just kidding. They're at the Raising Cane studio. I just
- 0:58Speaker 2: said that. What's up? How we doing? How we living? Hey,
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'm doing great. How you doing, buddy? I'm doing okay.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I'm doing okay. Stayed up late watching some football. The
- 1:09Speaker 3: Cleveland Browns are good.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Don't love it, but they are.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I picked them to win. Why? Because they won. That's true.
- 1:19Speaker 2: They could have lost, though. They're good. They legit are good.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I know. I was watching the game. So, I watched
- 1:27Speaker 2: the first half and then didn't watch the second half,
- 1:31Speaker 2: but the Through the first half, I was like, man,
- 1:33Speaker 2: this sucks. I want the Browns to not be good
- 1:37Speaker 2: because it's fun. Why? Poor people. They've been bad forever. No,
- 1:42Speaker 2: because it's fun for somebody to be bad for a
- 1:45Speaker 2: long time. It'll only be bad. And it's fun to
- 1:47Speaker 2: make fun of them. Okay. But you can't because they
- 1:49Speaker 2: got a defense that flies around, dude. They do.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And I really, really, really like Todd Munkins.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I do too. Of course I do. I mean, I
- 1:56Speaker 2: hadn't seen Todd Munkin in 20 years. So like, I
- 1:59Speaker 2: don't have a lot of loyalty towards him.
- 2:01Speaker 3: So I've been seeing him a bunch recently. I saw
- 2:04Speaker 3: him at the combine. I saw him at owner's meetings.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I saw him at training camp. And so I very
- 2:08Speaker 3: much enjoyed my time. He starts telling old stories about,
- 2:11Speaker 3: you know, when we were all together.
- 2:13Speaker 2: And so, yeah, I just, I can't really picture my
- 2:17Speaker 2: communication with him. All I can remember is I can
- 2:20Speaker 2: hear his voice, raspy screaming voice screaming at like early.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And Buster. Like, I can just hear him yelling. Sweet nothings?
- 2:29Speaker 2: Sweet nothings, absolutely. That staff loved to yell. Loved a
- 2:34Speaker 2: good one.
- 2:35Speaker 3: They love to say, like, this one cuss word followed
- 2:39Speaker 3: by your name. It was a two-parter cuss word followed
- 2:43Speaker 3: by your name.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah. The second word, was it you? No, it was.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Taking the Lord's name in vain. Okay, they did like
- 2:54Speaker 2: to say that. Followed by your name. They like to
- 2:56Speaker 2: say that. Well, you know. Yeah. They had a lot
- 2:59Speaker 2: of favorites. They wanted to make sure everybody got touched.
- 3:05Speaker 2: They sure did. They sure did. Yeah, but Browns are good.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Steelers are good.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Steelers are a good football team. The AFC North is good.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Think about it. Cincinnati's 2-1.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Baltimore's 2-1.
- 3:18Speaker 3: That's going to be– and it's always been like a
- 3:21Speaker 3: black and blue division, just physical, tough. A lot of
- 3:26Speaker 3: the division games, no matter who's good, who's bad, are
- 3:28Speaker 3: going to be good. But Cleveland being good, that might
- 3:32Speaker 3: change the whole thing.
- 3:33Speaker 2: What a difference a couple of weeks makes, right? I mean,
- 3:36Speaker 2: Mike McCarthy, I think, even said it post-game yesterday, talking
- 3:39Speaker 2: about the atmosphere at that stadium yesterday. Who would have
- 3:41Speaker 2: ever said that in Cleveland? talking about having to worry
- 3:45Speaker 2: about crowd noise, having to worry about a crazy atmosphere
- 3:49Speaker 2: like that. Thank goodness Todd Mungin probably didn't listen. He
- 3:53Speaker 2: listens to the show, I'm sure, every day, but he
- 3:54Speaker 2: didn't listen to that one episode where he said, or
- 3:57Speaker 2: at least I said, hey, you better, if you want
- 4:00Speaker 2: to keep your job, you better not play Deshaun Watson
- 4:04Speaker 2: next week because, for one, he wasn't playing good. I
- 4:07Speaker 2: think it was the right take at the time, but
- 4:09Speaker 2: not anymore because he's playing really well, but A man
- 4:12Speaker 2: that got booed off the field in his own home stadium.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Booed by the fans, I mean, for obvious off-the-field reasons.
- 4:21Speaker 2: A lot of people were cheering against him and probably
- 4:23Speaker 2: still are cheering against him, including, at the time, his
- 4:26Speaker 2: own fans. But you know what cures literally anything? That's winning. Winning.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And winning multiple times. And winning... And your team winning
- 4:41Speaker 2: with a really thirsty fan base, thirsty for any type
- 4:46Speaker 2: of success that they can hold on. Yeah. You'll sell
- 4:49Speaker 2: a lot. You'll sell a lot of yourself for your
- 4:54Speaker 2: team to be good. Two among us. I'm telling you.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Those Browns fans, they're crazy, man. They're going to do
- 5:01Speaker 2: anything they can. They don't really care as long as
- 5:03Speaker 2: you're winning. And that's sports, baby. And it doesn't really matter.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I mean, it does matter, of course.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 2: But you can get away with a lot as long
- 5:14Speaker 2: as you win. Now, at the first moment of distress,
- 5:18Speaker 2: at the first sign of any negativity, you're going to
- 5:20Speaker 2: get booed again. Yeah. And they showed that a couple
- 5:22Speaker 2: of weeks ago. But he's buying himself some grace right now, certainly.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And he's playing really well. Yeah. He's going through his reads.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Taking care of the football. Making good pre-snap decisions.
- 5:32Speaker 3: There was a time in his career that we thought, argued, debated,
- 5:37Speaker 3: talked about him being a top eight quarterback.
- 5:39Speaker 2: In the league. Yeah, enough so to where they paid
- 5:42Speaker 2: him $ 250 million. The Saints wanted him, too.
- 5:46Speaker 3: So, I remember, like, when it all came down to
- 5:49Speaker 3: who was going to get Deshaun Watson, he chose Cleveland
- 5:52Speaker 3: over New Orleans, which I still don't get, but.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Right. Well, $ 250 million. I get it. The Saints were
- 5:57Speaker 2: offering something crazy, too, though. They weren't offering that. Not bad.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I mean, because. They're probably only offering, like, $ 150. No,
- 6:03Speaker 2: it's more than that. What a poor.
- 6:08Speaker 3: But anyways, Cleveland Browns are good, and I was watching it,
- 6:11Speaker 3: but I was going back and forth because I got
- 6:15Speaker 3: to be honest. I was ye of little faith, but
- 6:17Speaker 3: the Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2.
- 6:22Speaker 2: They went Johnny Holstaff, and it worked.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I mean, they had a guy that was working at
- 6:26Speaker 3: 7-11 a couple of years ago. Be the starting pitcher
- 6:29Speaker 3: for the Braves. He goes three and a third scoreless.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah. You had some real Hunt Palmer energy yesterday about
- 6:35Speaker 2: that game. Yeah.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I mean, the Phillies had Nola and Wheeler, and the
- 6:39Speaker 3: Braves had everybody.
- 6:41Speaker 2: That was not a starter. Hey, can you pitch? You
- 6:45Speaker 2: were emotionally hedging yesterday for sure.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Big time. Can you pitch? Do you have a right
- 6:50Speaker 3: or a left arm? We'll try you on the mound today.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You hold your fingers like this on the ball. That's
- 6:56Speaker 3: what we call a four seam.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:59Speaker 3: But they won, and it wasn't, you know, it was 6-2.
- 7:02Speaker 3: All of the Braves' runs coming on home runs, but
- 7:05Speaker 3: they got it done. You had Michael Harris hit a three-run.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Tater, you had. Tater. Tater. That's his name? No, it
- 7:12Speaker 2: would be good. After Jim Bob Cooter yesterday, if we
- 7:14Speaker 2: had a Tater. My quarterback coach in Seattle is Tater.
- 7:18Speaker 2: He's awesome. Carl Smith, father of Tracy Smith, RGA. He's awesome.
- 7:25Speaker 2: One of my favorites. Where's Tater come in here? I
- 7:28Speaker 2: don't know.
- 7:28Speaker 3: You just said Tater, so I said Tater. No, no, no,
- 7:30Speaker 3: but you said Carl Smith, but he said his name
- 7:33Speaker 3: was Tater.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know where you find
- 7:36Speaker 2: that one. Okay. Yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the disconnect for me.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah. How do you get to Tater? What's that Jeff
- 7:42Speaker 2: Foxworthy comedian show that they have the four guys that
- 7:46Speaker 2: traveled with each other a long time ago? Billingville. Yeah, Gitterden. Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure it came from that. God, what was
- 7:53Speaker 3: that guy's name?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yep, I'm blanking. It is early.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Larry the Cable Guy.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Larry the Cable Guy. Right, Moose? Larry the Cable Guy? Comedian?
- 7:59Speaker 2: That's him? That's his name? The guy that played Mater? Yeah. Yeah, okay. Yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure he's the one that said Tater. All right.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe that's where it came from. Probably not.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Anyway, I'm sorry to distract you there. He was one
- 8:11Speaker 3: of my favorite coaches. His name was Tater, so it fit.
- 8:14Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Ozzy Owsby's hit a two-run home run, and then Matt
- 8:19Speaker 3: Olsen hit a solo shot.
- 8:21Speaker 2: The Braves win 6-2. Now they get to play the Dodgers.
- 8:25Speaker 2: All right, congratulations. I don't know. Every time I saw
- 8:28Speaker 2: a Dodgers score in the back half of the season,
- 8:30Speaker 2: they were losing. Yeah, the Braves did sweep the Dodgers
- 8:32Speaker 2: in the back half of the season, too. Not a
- 8:34Speaker 2: big deal. There is that. So they're favorite? No. Well,
- 8:39Speaker 2: you think they would be. Yeah. They got the head-to-head.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It's not the case.
- 8:44Speaker 3: So the playoff matchups now are going to be set.
- 8:47Speaker 3: It is going to be the Chicago White Sox and
- 8:50Speaker 3: the Cleveland Guardians.
- 8:52Speaker 2: It's going to be the Atlanta Braves and the L.A. Dodgers.
- 8:56Speaker 3: It's going to be the New York Yankees and the
- 8:58Speaker 3: Tampa Bay Rays, the San Diego Padres, and the Milwaukee Brewers.
- 9:03Speaker 2: When do the Rangers play? I got news for you, bud. What?
- 9:07Speaker 2: They didn't make it. Huh? They didn't make it. Are
- 9:10Speaker 2: you kidding me? I'm telling you the truth. Man. Lost
- 9:14Speaker 2: my bet. So, pour one out for Juan Gonzalez. Yep.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Pudge Rodriguez. Yep. Julio Franco. Don't forget about Rusty. Rusty Greer.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Mark McLemore. Kenny Rogers. Will the Thrill. Rafael Palmeiro. Mickey
- 9:42Speaker 2: Tettleton probably played for them at some point. Don't worry
- 9:45Speaker 2: about him. Fernando Tatis for a little bit. Senior. Not
- 9:52Speaker 2: to be confused with Junior who plays now. I actually
- 9:54Speaker 2: think I remember watching the game, his major league debut
- 9:57Speaker 2: at bat. I think he hit a home run.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Also hit two grand slams in one inning to the
- 10:02Speaker 3: left field, I believe.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Ballpark in Arlington. Great ballpark. Now they play in a
- 10:07Speaker 2: toaster oven. Do they? Yeah, it's not very. The aesthetics
- 10:10Speaker 2: of it, not great. Why? Is it new? It's ugly.
- 10:15Speaker 2: What happened to the ballpark in Arlington? That's brand new.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I think it's actually still standing. I think the UFL
- 10:20Speaker 3: team played there when they were playing, I think. That
- 10:23Speaker 3: was a great ballpark. I know it as a brand-new stadium.
- 10:27Speaker 3: They built that little right field.
- 10:28Speaker 2: They got this little thing right by the right field
- 10:30Speaker 2: foul pole that was like a little jut out. Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 2: That was really a lot shorter, and they built that
- 10:34Speaker 2: for Pudge Rodriguez because he always went oppo line drive. Yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 2: They built it. He had just a billion home runs
- 10:39Speaker 2: right there.
- 10:40Speaker 3: That was also the field that center field was just
- 10:44Speaker 3: the grass area, and you could fight over home runs, right?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Test fight. Did you ever win? No.
- 10:51Speaker 2: But there was a snow cone stand right above that
- 10:53Speaker 2: grassy hill. That was, like, it was the first, like,
- 10:55Speaker 2: shaved ice. Because, you know, you had the snow cones
- 10:58Speaker 2: that went through the little press. Yeah. And it pressed
- 11:00Speaker 2: the snow. But this one was, like, shaved ice. Like
- 11:03Speaker 2: Italian ice. They didn't have one of those in Tyler.
- 11:06Speaker 2: They didn't have one of those in Tyler. It blew
- 11:08Speaker 2: my mind. Oh, yeah. So the playoffs are set. I
- 11:13Speaker 2: don't know how much you care. I care. I care.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Moose doesn't care because the Red Sox are out. Rangers
- 11:19Speaker 3: aren't there either. But Alonja's Yankees, my Braves still in it.
- 11:24Speaker 2: So there you go. Tight. That's the MLB playoff breakdown.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I hope one of y'all win. Thank you. And I
- 11:30Speaker 2: hate the Dodgers with all my heart.
- 11:32Speaker 3: So it did my heart well that it was the
- 11:35Speaker 3: Phillies that the Braves beat, which you know they're like
- 11:37Speaker 3: top three of my hate list.
- 11:39Speaker 2: And then the Dodgers are on there as well. Would
- 11:41Speaker 2: it be fun if I cheered for the Dodgers? It
- 11:43Speaker 2: would be very you.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:45Speaker 3: It would be very you to cheer for something that's
- 11:48Speaker 3: against me for no reason.
- 11:49Speaker 2: It's good players over there. Shohei, good guy.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I would hope they had good players over there.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Have you seen their payroll? Got a couple of them. Yes.
- 11:58Speaker 2: They pay them a couple dollars apiece. That's the fun
- 12:01Speaker 2: thing about baseball, though. You can be a good player,
- 12:04Speaker 2: but not play very good. And still get what? In
- 12:08Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame. And also guaranteed money. Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 3: All right, we are going to step away. When we
- 12:14Speaker 3: come back, we'll dive into the top 25 in college football,
- 12:18Speaker 3: some of the bigger matchups across the country.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Of course, we'll give a look at LSU and McNeese.
- 12:24Speaker 3: We'll certainly give a deep look into the Saints and
- 12:26Speaker 3: the Falcons coming up on Monday night. It won't be
- 12:29Speaker 3: our final preview, as we'll have Monday's show, obviously, but
- 12:33Speaker 3: a look at what this game is, what this game means,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and we'll break it all down when we jump back here.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Live from Rouse's. Off the Bench.
- 12:43Speaker 3: All right, go to RussellPools.com, the website for Russell Pool Company.

- 13:18Speaker 2: a little tour with Russell Pools. Chris Sanderson and his
- 13:21Speaker 2: team over there took us around to see some of
- 13:22Speaker 2: the current pools that they're building, some of the most
- 13:25Speaker 2: recent ones, to kind of show us some design features
- 13:27Speaker 2: and some different options we can choose. And I was
- 13:29Speaker 2: absolutely blown away. Like, when you see a Russell Pools,

- 15:28Speaker 3: Go to bayouautomotive.com.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Today to buy your next vehicle.
- 15:32Speaker 3: All right, let's take a look at the slate in
- 15:35Speaker 3: college football.
- 15:36Speaker 2: We started doing this a little bit yesterday.
- 15:38Speaker 3: We kind of went over who played who, what the
- 15:40Speaker 3: spread looked like, not a deep dive into the games.
- 15:43Speaker 3: And Alondra and Tay-Tay, I'm sorry to let you know
- 15:47Speaker 3: that Notre Dame is now a 21-and-a-half point favorite. So
- 15:52Speaker 3: I'm hoping that that little bitty hook Doesn't make dum-dum
- 15:56Speaker 3: over here.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Go North Carolina again this week. Well, North Carolina might
- 16:00Speaker 2: win outright. So, that hook doesn't scare me. Their third
- 16:06Speaker 2: receiver's playing, though. North Carolina's. He's in? Purdue's didn't play
- 16:11Speaker 2: last week. Oh, so he's in. Yes. Perfect. That line
- 16:15Speaker 2: should have moved the other way. Oh, Jesus. Don't blame him.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I'm asking him for guidance. Please help my friend. All right.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So Notre Dame, North Carolina. 21 and a half. Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 2: that's a big number. Real stinky because obviously everybody's going
- 16:37Speaker 2: to be hammering. Nobody but you.
- 16:44Speaker 3: We're not allowing that game to even come into the process.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Alabama. I don't like how there's not enough people around
- 16:49Speaker 2: the nation. hating on Notre Dame right now. I don't
- 16:53Speaker 2: really like how you're not hating on them as much.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I can hate on them, but I'm not betting against
- 16:59Speaker 3: them right now.
- 17:00Speaker 2: But you don't hate. You could hate on them, but
- 17:02Speaker 2: you don't.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Because I'm trying to make our listeners money, and last week,
- 17:07Speaker 3: if you would have just done it with your mind
- 17:09Speaker 3: and not your heart.
- 17:10Speaker 2: But we only have one betting segment a week.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and you've run the last two weeks.
- 17:15Speaker 2: You've got a lot of other segments to hate on
- 17:17Speaker 2: Notre Dame, and you don't. You choose not to. I mean.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I try not to talk about them because I don't.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Care about them. See? That's a– I don't like that attitude.
- 17:27Speaker 2: All right. Well, when they play somebody of note, I'll
- 17:29Speaker 2: hate on them that week. So Miami week. Greatest head
- 17:33Speaker 2: coach in NFL history?
- 17:36Speaker 3: Not college coach. Anyways, Alabama and Mississippi State.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Alabama number seven.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Mississippi State number 16 in the country.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Alabama, this line's, I mean, gone back. It's gone forward.
- 17:52Speaker 3: It's gone a little bit of everywhere. Now Alabama back
- 17:55Speaker 3: to a six-point favorite. It had been bet down to
- 17:57Speaker 3: four and a half. It went to five and a half,
- 18:00Speaker 3: and now it's at six. What kind of chances do
- 18:03Speaker 3: you give Mississippi State, Mario Taylor, that high-powered offense at
- 18:08Speaker 3: home with the Cowbells, Davis-Wade Stadium at 11 a.m.? Well, look,
- 18:12Speaker 3: this is like.
- 18:13Speaker 2: As far as 11 a.m. games go, this one's going
- 18:16Speaker 2: to be a fun one. I'm looking forward to this
- 18:19Speaker 2: one kicking off and watching two really talented young quarterbacks
- 18:23Speaker 2: play that have both shown, like, big-time flashes. So, from
- 18:29Speaker 2: just a fan enjoyment, just a fan of football enjoyment,
- 18:35Speaker 2: I'm hoping that this game, like, it delivers what it could. Yeah. Like,
- 18:40Speaker 2: really good quarterback. Like, it would be awesome to see
- 18:43Speaker 2: two quarterbacks, though, for 300-plus yards in this game and
- 18:45Speaker 2: just kind of, showcase their skill set. Like 41-38. Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I mean, Mississippi State, like, you got to say that,
- 18:51Speaker 2: what did you say, the six point? Yeah. The total
- 18:56Speaker 2: on this game? 60 and a half. Holy cow. I
- 18:59Speaker 2: think they're going over that, by the way. That's fine.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I mean, if the buildup to the game delivers like
- 19:05Speaker 2: it could, like these quarterbacks deliver like they have been
- 19:08Speaker 2: this season so far, I mean....
- 19:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, if I was having to bet, I'm
- 19:14Speaker 3: not going to touch it. But if I was having
- 19:16Speaker 3: to bet that one, I would go over. It's going
- 19:18Speaker 3: to be a fun game to watch. I'm looking forward
- 19:19Speaker 3: to that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Early, too. Love it. Love that, you know, every window's
- 19:24Speaker 2: kind of got a game, too. Yeah, I do. I
- 19:26Speaker 2: do like that. Now, this game should probably be at night, but.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I think I'm going to be at the soccer field
- 19:30Speaker 2: tomorrow during that one. So you said you had soccer
- 19:33Speaker 2: at 1. No, it's Sunday. Yep. Last week, guys, so
- 19:38Speaker 2: Tuzet plays tomorrow. So, let's see, last week they played
- 19:42Speaker 2: at 9, which was great. Tuzet's got a strong kick. Yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 2: how's your shin doing? Exactly. Uh-huh. Really strong. that thing
- 19:50Speaker 2: in half, didn't she?
- 19:52Speaker 3: It's like an early 2000s movie.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Yeah, she's flirting.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah, just coming up, just smoking me in the shin, okay.
- 20:02Speaker 2: It would have been better if she kicked you in
- 20:03Speaker 2: the shin and then ran off giggling. No, she went
- 20:06Speaker 2: to kick you. Yeah, she went to kick me. So, see,
- 20:09Speaker 2: you're not alone, bud. How do you feel about, like, obviously,
- 20:15Speaker 2: Mississippi State's better than they have been, and they're relevant,
- 20:18Speaker 2: and they've looked really good. So, obviously, they have a chance.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I'm not going to ask you, like, hey, do you
- 20:22Speaker 2: think they actually have a chance?
- 20:24Speaker 3: I think what changes the entire math for them, because
- 20:26Speaker 3: if they were like, oh, it's a fun story, oh,
- 20:29Speaker 3: it's a– I'm not patting them on their head. They're
- 20:31Speaker 3: too good for that. Kamario Taylor's too good for that.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Jeff Levy's too good for that. And Jeff is a
- 20:36Speaker 3: hell of a play caller. Like, this game's going to
- 20:38Speaker 3: come down to Jeff Levy versus Kane Womack, the defense
- 20:41Speaker 3: coordinator for Alabama. Like, that's what it's going to come
- 20:43Speaker 3: down to. Who's going to win that battle? I don't
- 20:51Speaker 3: know that you stopped Kamario Taylor. Now, can Mississippi State
- 20:56Speaker 3: stop Russell on the other side?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Like, we don't know that.
- 20:59Speaker 3: That's why I think 41-38 or something crazy like that
- 21:02Speaker 3: is going to happen.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor on the season, 83 of 120. That's nearly
- 21:08Speaker 2: a set, just under 70% completion. 1,192 yards, 14 touchdowns,
- 21:15Speaker 2: only two interceptions. He's added another 185 yards on the ground. So,
- 21:20Speaker 2: to your point, playing his ass off. Yes. Playing really well.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And making every throw. I was, I'm so, I'm, I'm
- 21:28Speaker 2: impressed by this 69.2% completion, which is, I mean, it's
- 21:33Speaker 2: Mississippi State, y'all. I mean, it's not supposed to be
- 21:36Speaker 2: like that, but it is. Is it a work of art,
- 21:39Speaker 2: a thing of beauty to watch that ball come out
- 21:41Speaker 2: of his hand? Oh, my God. I could watch him throw,
- 21:44Speaker 2: just put it on loop on my timeline, and I'd
- 21:48Speaker 2: just sit there and watch it. If you were watching
- 21:49Speaker 2: him on pregame, he's one of those guys, you would
- 21:51Speaker 2: be able to hear him throw it. you know what
- 21:53Speaker 2: i mean yeah like you.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Would hear every finger touching the football as it's released
- 21:58Speaker 3: so yeah they got a chance it's going to be
- 22:00Speaker 3: a great atmosphere i'm not touching this game just because
- 22:03Speaker 3: i've seen this line before it's like mississippi state's either
- 22:06Speaker 3: going to win or lose by 40 it feels like
- 22:08Speaker 3: whenever we like hype a game up like this like
- 22:11Speaker 3: there's like no in between it feels like.
- 22:12Speaker 2: And on the other side alabama keyline's not playing bad
- 22:16Speaker 2: as his own self he's um He's 78 of 110.
- 22:19Speaker 2: He's got 70.9% completion so far on the season. 1,129 yards,
- 22:25Speaker 2: eight touchdowns, two interceptions, and he's added 168 on the ground,
- 22:30Speaker 2: but three touchdowns with his legs, too. Yeah. Now, he's
- 22:33Speaker 2: got six less touchdowns than Camario. Right. But still doing it.
- 22:38Speaker 2: He's got a couple more rushing touchdowns. So, obviously, probably
- 22:41Speaker 2: a little bit more balanced attack at Alabama than it
- 22:43Speaker 2: is over at Mississippi State. Yeah. But, look, that's going
- 22:47Speaker 2: to be a fun game. And you know. I mean,
- 22:49Speaker 2: anything can happen on the 11 a.m. games. I mean,
- 22:52Speaker 2: if Alabama goes into that game half-stepping in the slightest,
- 22:56Speaker 2: you know, it's like Jeff Levy's got the easy job
- 22:59Speaker 2: in this one.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Like, keep your guys motivated because they've felt success. Now
- 23:02Speaker 3: they've tasted success that they've never, ever had.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And I'm sure the support around them in Starkville is like,
- 23:12Speaker 2: I bet they can feel it when they go pump
- 23:13Speaker 2: gas pretty much. They can feel that support.
- 23:15Speaker 4: So, yeah.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I think Alabama's got the tougher task at hand to
- 23:21Speaker 2: get motivated for that game. But, you know, they've watched
- 23:23Speaker 2: the film all week. Right. So I'm sure it's not
- 23:26Speaker 2: too hard.
- 23:26Speaker 3: It'll be a good one. But 11 a.m. games can
- 23:29Speaker 3: always be a little tricky.
- 23:30Speaker 2: They can. Eating filet mignon at 630 in the morning.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Does that favor the home or the away team? Ooh,
- 23:36Speaker 2: that's a good question. Probably the home team. Because, I
- 23:44Speaker 2: don't know, I always think about pregame meals.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That's what I always go to because morning games, your
- 23:49Speaker 2: routine is thrown.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Off so much. Your coaches try to keep the routine
- 23:53Speaker 3: the same.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Right. But like I said, we make the joke all
- 23:56Speaker 2: the time about eating filet at 6 in the morning. Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 3: But at least you know what that filet is going
- 24:00Speaker 3: to taste like and look like and who's going to
- 24:02Speaker 3: cook it.
- 24:03Speaker 2: If you're on an away game, you're at some random Marriott. Nice.
- 24:08Speaker 3: He said, I'm not picking those cherries up.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I'm sliding these things. I'm going to slide these things
- 24:12Speaker 2: all the way across. I think he looked at me
- 24:15Speaker 2: and winked.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Too like watch this watch this listen to this all.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Right where's that guy with that i want to see
- 24:26Speaker 2: that guy with the hover around camera yeah i want
- 24:27Speaker 2: to give him a high five as he comes by
- 24:29Speaker 2: i didn't even know like it flashed before my like
- 24:32Speaker 2: my peripherals yeah like last week yeah me too anyhow
- 24:38Speaker 2: i think i might wake up tomorrow and have me
- 24:39Speaker 2: a steak in the morning.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Steak and eggs no steak and eggs yeah In honor
- 24:43Speaker 3: of 11 a.m.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Kick. We went to Waffle House last weekend, and it was,
- 24:46Speaker 2: we hadn't been to Waffle House in months, which is
- 24:50Speaker 2: a mistake on our part. Yeah. I was like, man,
- 24:53Speaker 2: this might become a weekly tradition here. There you go.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Everybody's happy. Smiles. Five smiles in our family.
- 25:01Speaker 3: It's usually the later at a Waffle House, later in
- 25:03Speaker 3: the day it gets, that's when people become unhappy.
- 25:06Speaker 2: That's true. You know. That was fair. It was on Saturday,
- 25:10Speaker 2: Saturday morning, so there was a lot of. LSU people,
- 25:13Speaker 2: there's a lot of A & M people, and it
- 25:14Speaker 2: was real friendly. I was asking A & M, you know,
- 25:17Speaker 2: questions about College Station.
- 25:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Me just mingling with the. Yale practice and Yale leaders. Yeah,
- 25:23Speaker 2: I was like, man, those Yalies are sweet, huh?
- 25:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Why do they hiss at people?
- 25:28Speaker 3: Jumping in a fountain, and they're all white get-ups when they,
- 25:31Speaker 3: you know, the win.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. All those things. It's your people. All right, we'll
- 25:35Speaker 2: take a break.
- 25:35Speaker 3: We've got more OTB, more games to break down when
- 25:39Speaker 3: we come back, and we'll do it here live from Rouse's.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Off the bench. I think he's doing it on purpose now. Yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 2: he heard us. No doubt.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Go to centralplumbing.org, centralplumbing.org, top right corner of the website.
- 25:53Speaker 3: It is in the greater Baton Rouge area. It's also
- 25:55Speaker 3: now in Lafayette. You can get that contact information for
- 25:59Speaker 3: the location that's most convenient for you. It's 24-7, 365 weekend, holiday,
- 26:02Speaker 3: game day, does not matter. They're going to be there
- 26:07Speaker 3: for you. Jay Payne is the man. They've been in
- 26:09Speaker 3: this business for a long time. I actually had to
- 26:12Speaker 3: reach out to Jay yesterday. I've got a gas lantern
- 26:15Speaker 3: outside that's, you know, not getting gas right now.
- 26:18Speaker 2: And you're like, well, that's a plumber. All right. So
- 26:21Speaker 2: I got two on the front of the house. One's
- 26:23Speaker 2: getting it. The other one's not. So he's like, you
- 26:26Speaker 2: know what? We got you on the schedule. We'll be there.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I'll send my best guy. We'll knock it out. What'd
- 26:30Speaker 2: you do? What do you mean? What happened? What did
- 26:33Speaker 2: you do to the gas line? I didn't break it. Well,
- 26:35Speaker 2: somebody did. Not me. Hands are clean. But they're the experts.
- 26:40Speaker 2: They'll get down to the bottom of it. They're going
- 26:42Speaker 2: to figure it out. They are going to do it
- 26:43Speaker 2: because they are the experts. So give them a call
- 26:45Speaker 2: if you've got a plumbing need. And 24-7 emergency service,
- 26:48Speaker 2: no matter the time, no matter the day, no matter
- 26:49Speaker 2: the event, they can help you get that peace of mind.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Work with Central Plumbing. Go to centralplumbing.org.
- 27:10Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 27:12Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 27:20Speaker 3: You know, you really feel like a DJ if you're
- 27:22Speaker 3: like standing up around this board and it's like.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Crowd goes wild a little bit. Yeah. Wait, what's this
- 27:30Speaker 2: one that's got the music to it? No. No, that's
- 27:34Speaker 2: a terrible song. What are you talking about? It's terrible.
- 27:36Speaker 2: You said you wanted to be a DJ. Yeah, of
- 27:38Speaker 2: good music, not that. That's good. You couldn't play it.
- 27:42Speaker 2: That sounds like a rejoined Moose has to play every day.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I don't want to do that. You couldn't play it, bro.
- 27:46Speaker 4: No.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Don't be jealous. Moose, I'm going to need you to
- 27:50Speaker 2: wake up over there. He's on a struggle bus.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I looked over twice, and Moose has had to reel
- 27:56Speaker 3: his jaw back in.
- 27:59Speaker 2: What time did you have to get up today? 4.35.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Why that extra five minutes? Like an extra little hook
- 28:08Speaker 2: on your sleep. Ah, we went with a five, so
- 28:13Speaker 2: I got it. I didn't know if you were like,
- 28:16Speaker 2: should I go 4.30? You know what? I'm going to
- 28:18Speaker 2: get that extra five, 4.35.
- 28:21Speaker 3: You know, I like to sleep, like, when we go
- 28:24Speaker 3: to Rouse's, like, it's real close to my house.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I'm going to sleep in.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I had a random 606 alarm. Okay. Oh, was that
- 28:33Speaker 2: on accident? I don't know. 606. That last 60 seconds
- 28:37Speaker 2: actually can make a big difference. It can't hurt. Every
- 28:43Speaker 2: now and then. You know, so I still haven't changed
- 28:45Speaker 2: my nightly routine since I've started doing this show. Right.
- 28:48Speaker 2: So I went to bed at 1245 last night. It
- 28:53Speaker 2: was one of those deals. We're watching a movie. I
- 28:55Speaker 2: didn't mean to. That's later than normal. And it was
- 28:57Speaker 2: one of those deals where we started watching a movie. Yes, yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 2: And then the movie just didn't end, and I just
- 29:04Speaker 2: watched it until the end. It just kept going. It
- 29:06Speaker 2: just kept going. It's crazy. It's good. It's weird how
- 29:07Speaker 2: it works. It was a new little comedy. That comedian,
- 29:10Speaker 2: Nate Bergazzi. We tried to watch that. It was funny.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I laughed. I laughed out loud. I chuckled a couple times.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It was cheesy. Oh, it's very cheesy, and I'm not
- 29:21Speaker 2: going to say it's going to win an award. And
- 29:22Speaker 2: very stressful. See, I can't deal with that.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Like, when the horse tore up the house like that, nope,
- 29:28Speaker 3: got to fast forward.
- 29:29Speaker 2: This is, who's going to clean all that up? Can't
- 29:33Speaker 2: do it. You're stressed? It is stressful. But it's not
- 29:36Speaker 2: your house. It doesn't matter. I'm like, oh, my God.
- 29:39Speaker 2: A horse.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Gonna let the horse in the house nate.
- 29:43Speaker 2: We didn't finish it we got 15 minutes we got
- 29:45Speaker 2: a different definition of stress i think we did it's
- 29:48Speaker 2: fine i'm not judging you for yours well i'm judging
- 29:52Speaker 2: you a little bit for yours.
- 29:53Speaker 3: You always do i know i just Nate's funny. Nate's
- 29:57Speaker 3: very funny. He is very funny. But I did not
- 29:59Speaker 3: find it to be that funny. That will never be rewatched.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Okay. All right. Yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 3: You're going to watch the other guys.
- 30:10Speaker 2: If it's on TBS, you're stopping. Yeah.
- 30:13Speaker 3: If that movie's on TBS. Oh, I saw that one time.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I don't know if I've seen a movie. I'm trying
- 30:20Speaker 2: to think here. You know how, like, in college, like,
- 30:24Speaker 2: I would watch the same movie a billion times. Yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 2: And maybe even a couple years after college, watched a
- 30:29Speaker 2: movie a billion times. I don't know if I've watched
- 30:30Speaker 2: a movie for the first time, like a newer movie,
- 30:34Speaker 2: in my 30s and been like, I'm going to re-watch
- 30:37Speaker 2: that 10, 20 times. Now, there's really good movies that
- 30:41Speaker 2: I've re-watched a second time years later. But, like, the
- 30:45Speaker 2: other guys. Like, what about, like, Beer Fest? Like those
- 30:51Speaker 2: dumb movies back when we were a little bit younger.
- 30:53Speaker 2: I would watch it, and I'd get on DVD, and
- 30:55Speaker 2: I'd watch it. Three times a week. Yeah. Because I
- 30:58Speaker 2: just wanted to laugh. Yeah. Old school. Maybe because it's
- 31:01Speaker 2: so much content. We have so much available to us.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Maybe so. We didn't have streaming services. We didn't have
- 31:06Speaker 2: streaming services. Streaming services was you getting up and putting
- 31:09Speaker 2: the DVD in the tray. All right. I didn't say
- 31:12Speaker 2: it was awful. I didn't say it was the best
- 31:16Speaker 2: movie ever. I just was watching it. I was into it.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I wasn't stressed. I was just into it. Dude.
- 31:24Speaker 3: No dad is that bad at dadding.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Well, it wouldn't be a good movie. I know.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I know, but I'm like, nobody's that bad.
- 31:35Speaker 2: He knows how to wash clothes. Washing clothes isn't that easy.
- 31:39Speaker 3: It ain't that hard.
- 31:41Speaker 2: But it was the towels. There were so many towels.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Anyways, funny to find a transition. Mm-hmm.
- 31:52Speaker 3: The Vanderbilt quarterback, Jerry Curtis, was in the movie that
- 31:55Speaker 3: we're talking about. Oh, I did see a guy with
- 31:58Speaker 3: a Vanderbilt hat. He was the Vanderbilt guy with the
- 32:00Speaker 3: double stud earrings.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Okay. Jerry Curtis, the Vanderbilt quarterback. I definitely knew who
- 32:05Speaker 2: the Vanderbilt quarterback was.
- 32:07Speaker 3: It was an NIL deal for him. One of the
- 32:10Speaker 3: things to get him to go to Vanderbilt.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Really? He's in a movie. He was.
- 32:14Speaker 3: He was getting a minivan at the beginning of that movie.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. That's right. And they play Georgia this weekend. Okay,
- 32:20Speaker 2: that's going to be a good one. In Athens. Okay,
- 32:23Speaker 2: that's going to be a good one. Number two, Georgia. Vanderbilt,
- 32:26Speaker 2: a 25-and-a-half point. Is Georgia good? I really haven't heard
- 32:28Speaker 2: anybody talk about them this year. They're okay if you're
- 32:31Speaker 2: into that kind of thing. Isn't it funny how Georgia doesn't, like,
- 32:36Speaker 2: we just expect them to be there, so nobody really
- 32:39Speaker 2: discusses them. Nobody talks. No one predicts them to win
- 32:42Speaker 2: the national championship. Now, the conversation changes, like, you know,
- 32:48Speaker 2: this point of the season where we're like, wait a minute. Well,
- 32:50Speaker 2: I know you do. I know, but it's just you
- 32:52Speaker 2: just don't hear people talk about it much.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Well, a lot of the conversation around them this year
- 32:58Speaker 3: is like they've played Tennessee State, Western Kentucky.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
- 33:03Speaker 3: You can say that, but also you can watch the
- 33:05Speaker 3: tape and be like, no, they're really damn good.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Gunnar Stockton's really good.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Gunnar Stockton is the most hated-on quarterback for no reason.
- 33:15Speaker 3: the most disrespected quarterback for no reason. He's a really
- 33:20Speaker 3: good football player. He's completing 74% of his passes right now. 74,
- 33:26Speaker 3: 754 yards, 10 touchdowns, only one interception. He's run for
- 33:30Speaker 3: another 100 yards on 13 carries, right? 7.7 yards per carry.
- 33:36Speaker 3: He's got a 62-yard run under his belt this year.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I think Gunnar Stockton's a really good player, and because
- 33:43Speaker 3: he looks like, He should.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Be selling insurance.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Nobody gives him a lot of respect when it comes
- 33:49Speaker 3: to top quarterback list.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of good quarterbacks in
- 33:54Speaker 2: the SEC. So there's, you know, for a reason he's
- 33:57Speaker 2: not in anybody's, like, top quarterback. He should be. I
- 34:01Speaker 2: got it. I hadn't watched him play one snap this year,
- 34:03Speaker 2: so I can't really tell you. I've watched him in
- 34:05Speaker 2: the past, and I've seen him play good, and I've
- 34:07Speaker 2: seen him play bad. I've seen his hairline. What?
- 34:12Speaker 1: What?
- 34:13Speaker 3: Why did that man just catch that stray? He catches
- 34:15Speaker 3: it every time, and he gets it. I'm not telling
- 34:17Speaker 3: him anything he doesn't know.
- 34:20Speaker 2: That's uncalled for. I have a bad one. Yeah, you're 41.
- 34:23Speaker 2: That's true. You didn't have a bad one at 21.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Gunner. My bad, bro. Man. Right here. Sorry, Gunner.
- 34:35Speaker 2: George is really good, by the way. I know. They're
- 34:37Speaker 2: going to beat the brakes off Vanderbilt. They are. Looking
- 34:41Speaker 2: at their schedule....
- 34:44Speaker 3: They're going to have at Alabama next week. They're going
- 34:49Speaker 3: to have Florida neutral site game on Halloween. They go
- 34:54Speaker 3: to Ole Miss on November the 7th, and then they
- 34:58Speaker 3: host Missouri November 14th.
- 35:03Speaker 2: That's about it.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Vanderbilt this week, Auburn on the 17th of October, South
- 35:08Speaker 3: Carolina November 21st, and then Georgia Tech to end the season.
- 35:14Speaker 2: How many– They've played four games? Yeah. I'm looking at
- 35:19Speaker 2: the passing stats here of all the top quarterbacks in
- 35:23Speaker 2: the country. PFF grades, you know kind of how I
- 35:27Speaker 2: feel about that. It's a good tool to use. He's
- 35:31Speaker 2: 14th in passer grades. Yeah. I'm looking at this. This
- 35:35Speaker 2: kind of shows you the competition they played. 70 pass attempts. Yeah. 70. Yeah.
- 35:41Speaker 2: That is... That's averaging, what, 15 a game-ish? A little
- 35:48Speaker 2: bit more? That's not a lot. That means they're blowing
- 35:51Speaker 2: people out. They are. And scoring a lot, scoring quickly.
- 35:54Speaker 2: He's got 10 touchdowns to one interception. Yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Last week he threw 25 passes against Oklahoma.
- 36:02Speaker 2: To your point, he's playing great, but he should be
- 36:04Speaker 2: 74% completion. Fair enough. He's not going to strike like
- 36:08Speaker 2: Marler does. But, I mean, like, we just read some
- 36:11Speaker 2: stats where Camario, Taylor, and Keyline have both thrown for
- 36:14Speaker 2: over twice as many pass attempts than he has. Right.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I'm with you. He is a good quarterback. I can't
- 36:21Speaker 2: wait to see them play somebody.
- 36:23Speaker 3: The other big game in the SEC is going to
- 36:26Speaker 3: be number eight, Florida, at number 25, Missouri.
- 36:29Speaker 2: They're in Como. Florida, five-and-a-half-point favorite in this contest.
- 36:35Speaker 3: It feels like, oh, my gosh, let me go run
- 36:38Speaker 3: to the window to place a bet.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Florida dominated Ole Miss, Missouri.
- 36:42Speaker 3: They then lost to Mississippi State. Florida has not historically
- 36:49Speaker 3: played good in Como, but Florida hasn't had John Summer
- 36:53Speaker 3: on the sidelines.
- 36:55Speaker 2: I think Florida rules. I do, too.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Austin Simmons is playing great, by the way, for Missouri.
- 37:00Speaker 2: They're a quarterback. He is.
- 37:02Speaker 3: But Jaden Baugh has 600 rushing yards already on the
- 37:06Speaker 3: year and 11 tuds on the ground.
- 37:09Speaker 2: And that's one thing. You talk about playing in sleepy places.
- 37:15Speaker 2: You don't have a great record here, don't have a
- 37:17Speaker 2: great record there, whatever. What's the atmosphere going to be like?
- 37:21Speaker 2: Something that travels fast. to every single stadium in the
- 37:24Speaker 2: whole world at any time of the day is a
- 37:27Speaker 2: running game. A running game travels. Now, sometimes that passing
- 37:31Speaker 2: game can be a little sleepy, a little tough to
- 37:33Speaker 2: get started, get in the groove because it takes everybody.
- 37:36Speaker 2: But with a head coach like John Summerall, a running
- 37:39Speaker 2: game travels because they're mentally going to be ready to play.
- 37:43Speaker 2: They are going to... He's got the... I would love
- 37:47Speaker 2: to hear a pregame speech from Summerall. He's going to
- 37:50Speaker 2: have them fired up and to be fired up, that's
- 37:52Speaker 2: what you... I mean, running game is an attitude, and
- 37:55Speaker 2: we've got a running back like that. Running games, travel,
- 37:59Speaker 2: that's why I look for them to roll. Like a
- 38:01Speaker 2: lot of times it's these teams that are very pass-happy
- 38:05Speaker 2: that kind of have slow starts in some of these games. So, yeah,
- 38:11Speaker 2: Florida rolls. That line to me is stinky. I don't
- 38:13Speaker 2: know if this is people overanalyzing running these analytics on
- 38:18Speaker 2: games Eli Drinkwitz, you know, saying he's so-and-so record. Look
- 38:22Speaker 2: at this winning record percentage, you know, coming off of
- 38:25Speaker 2: a loss in the SEC at home. Like, they're overanalyzing
- 38:28Speaker 2: this for these bets. Florida should be seven, seven point.
- 38:33Speaker 2: It should be, so. Could we hear that one later, maybe?
- 38:38Speaker 2: You could. I just don't want to be too predictable.
- 38:40Speaker 2: I don't want to be too predictable, so we want
- 38:42Speaker 2: to pick some weird names. There's a lot of pressure
- 38:44Speaker 2: on you this week, bud. There's a lot of pressure
- 38:46Speaker 2: on y'all. Y'all been talking a lot of ish about
- 38:48Speaker 2: how good y'all are at picking coin flips. No, we're
- 38:51Speaker 2: two weeks in a row, bud. I can't believe you
- 38:54Speaker 2: didn't pick tails. I've been two weeks in a row.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You know it's going to hit heads.
- 38:57Speaker 5: See, but the thing about your pick is that it
- 39:00Speaker 5: wasn't a 50-50 coin flip at all. And you're trying
- 39:04Speaker 5: to justify it. And there's literally no justification for it.
- 39:06Speaker 5: And you're starting to, like, really make me angry.
- 39:11Speaker 2: It was.
- 39:11Speaker 3: It's absolute. A betting line is a coin flip. It
- 39:14Speaker 3: was such a bad pick that I told you. My
- 39:16Speaker 3: own mother went with our three picks and left yours out,
- 39:20Speaker 3: and she won $ 75.
- 39:21Speaker 2: It was a good bet. It was a good bet.
- 39:23Speaker 2: She did good. I lost. Barely. All right. We'll take
- 39:28Speaker 2: a break. We're going to have.– it was not even barely.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Don't even say that. We're going to take a break.
- 39:32Speaker 3: We're going to have more breakdowns of some of the
- 39:34Speaker 3: bigger games in college football when we come back here
- 39:37Speaker 3: live from Rouse's.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Off the bench. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
- 39:52Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 39:54Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 40:15Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in. OTB.
- 40:21Speaker 3: They're live from Rouse's. A little football Friday here from Rouse's.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Taking a look at some of the biggest games in
- 40:27Speaker 3: college football. Real quick, want to remind you about our
- 40:30Speaker 3: friends over at Tommy's.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Windows, Doors, and Siding. GoTommy.com. G-E-A-U-X.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Tommy's with a Y.com. When you go to the website,
- 40:37Speaker 3: you'll clearly see the difference. You'll see award-winning work. That's
- 40:40Speaker 3: not just us saying that. That's Angie's Super Service. That's
- 40:42Speaker 3: the best windows in the Advocate in 2025. And it's
- 40:45Speaker 3: right there on the homepage. They also do gutters. They
- 40:47Speaker 3: do a little bit of everything. And they're going to
- 40:48Speaker 3: customize your job just fine. to how you want your
- 40:52Speaker 3: job done at your home, at your business, go to GoTommies, G-E-A-U-X,
- 40:56Speaker 3: Tommies with a Y.com, GoTommies.com.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Hey, yo, Tommy. Yeah, Tommy. So not going to the
- 41:09Speaker 2: game again this week, huh? No. Wow. We've been... Kind
- 41:17Speaker 2: of birthday party free for a while now. There's some
- 41:20Speaker 2: birthday parties this weekend. Back at it, you know? How
- 41:26Speaker 2: dare them be born during football season? I know, right?
- 41:29Speaker 2: If I'm being honest. It was kind of selfish. What
- 41:34Speaker 2: the heck was happening three months from now? You know,
- 41:38Speaker 2: seven years ago. Yeah, I got it. We got it. Yeah,
- 41:42Speaker 2: I got it. Congrats.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Number four, Miami, traveling to Clemson to take on the
- 41:49Speaker 3: Fighting Davos Sweeneys. Miami, a 16-and-a-half-point favorite in Clemson, South Carolina.
- 41:57Speaker 2: I know you've said that a decent amount this week,
- 42:00Speaker 2: and every time it just kind of makes me chuckle.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Every single time. Doesn't get old to hear Clemson being
- 42:06Speaker 2: that big underdogs. It's kind of fun. What do you think?
- 42:11Speaker 2: I think you're a sicko if you bet that one.
- 42:15Speaker 2: That's what I think. A sicko or you've got an issue.
- 42:17Speaker 2: You've got an issue if you're betting that one because
- 42:20Speaker 2: everybody knows. I know Clemson's won a couple here. They're
- 42:24Speaker 2: not good. Miami's looked really good. Vince is playing fantastic.
- 42:30Speaker 2: He's got, like, the highest grade of anybody in the
- 42:32Speaker 2: whole country and all the colleges, big and small. Yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 2: So he's playing really well. So, yeah, I think everybody,
- 42:38Speaker 2: nobody would be surprised if Miami covers this line. But
- 42:41Speaker 2: then again, it's like, you know, what could they do?
- 42:44Speaker 2: Catch a couple of plays here and there. That's a
- 42:48Speaker 2: tough line. Yeah. If it was 12, if it was 11,
- 42:51Speaker 2: if it was 13 and a half. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah,
- 42:55Speaker 2: 13 and a half. 13 and a half I would go.
- 42:58Speaker 2: You could bet it down. You could backdoor a 16
- 43:01Speaker 2: and a half. This might be one of those games
- 43:04Speaker 2: that if you wanted just to watch the game and
- 43:08Speaker 2: make money while Dabo cries, like this would be the
- 43:11Speaker 2: game to watch it and just– Hope that Clemson, like,
- 43:16Speaker 2: kicks a field goal early or scores first, like, takes
- 43:19Speaker 2: an early lead, and then you hammer it live and
- 43:23Speaker 2: catch them under a touchdown or under two touchdowns. That
- 43:27Speaker 2: might be a wait-and-see live bet little situation on that game.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Another line that is a little fishy here, just real
- 43:37Speaker 3: quick on this game, number 24, Kentucky, a three-point dog
- 43:41Speaker 3: on the road against South Carolina.
- 43:44Speaker 2: South Carolina's not good. Mm-hmm.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I'm not saying– They got a little Norris. He's part
- 43:52Speaker 3: of the problem right now. I'm not saying Kentucky should be, like,
- 43:57Speaker 3: a seven-point favorite or anything, but I'm surprised that on
- 44:02Speaker 3: the road they're not, like, a point-and-a-half favorite.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Right. Three-point dog. Yeah, three-point dog against South Carolina.
- 44:08Speaker 3: And, you know, just as a reminder for South Carolina–
- 44:13Speaker 3: They've lost their last two.
- 44:14Speaker 2: In the SEC.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Now they've played Mississippi State and at Alabama, but I
- 44:19Speaker 3: don't know. Feels like a third straight loss for South Carolina,
- 44:23Speaker 3: and it might be it for my guy Shane Beamer.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Kentucky, let's see. Kentucky coming off a win versus
- 44:30Speaker 2: South Alabama, who's a salty little team. Yeah, they were
- 44:33Speaker 2: playing well, too. That was a tight game early on,
- 44:36Speaker 2: but they went 45-21. And then, of course, they went
- 44:38Speaker 2: on the road, beat Texas A & M 31-21. How
- 44:42Speaker 2: good are they? We'll see.
- 44:43Speaker 1: True.
- 44:44Speaker 3: All right, we've got more games to talk about. We've
- 44:46Speaker 3: got Saints to talk about. We'll do it all right
- 44:47Speaker 3: here on OTB.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Off the bench. All right, go to, well, Rouse's. Right here.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Right here. Go right here. Where we're at. Or come
- 44:59Speaker 2: see us. Come see us.
- 44:59Speaker 3: Burbank and Lee. We'll be here until 10 a.m. Go
- 45:03Speaker 3: to Rouse's.com today. Find the location that's convenient for you.

- 45:11Speaker 3: which one is most convenient for you. You can pick
- 45:13Speaker 3: up those tailgating packages. They're already ready to go. Pick
- 45:16Speaker 3: them up.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Walk out.
- 45:17Speaker 3: You're ready to go for your tailgate. They've got the
- 45:19Speaker 3: breakfast bar, which Matt Flynn just deleted. They've got the
- 45:22Speaker 3: lunch bar, the salad bar, the sushi bar already ready
- 45:25Speaker 3: to go.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Go to Roustis.com. That's right. I'm already one styrofoam plate
- 45:29Speaker 2: in to my breakfast bar. We're looking at hitting maybe two,
- 45:32Speaker 2: maybe three this morning. We'll see. But if you've got
- 45:35Speaker 2: a grocery shop this weekend, if you're getting ready to tailgate,
- 45:38Speaker 2: if you're getting ready to grill out this evening, the
- 45:40Speaker 2: weather's getting a little bit better. It is good grilling
- 45:42Speaker 2: weather right now. Come get everything you need right over
- 45:45Speaker 2: here at Rouse's Best Grocery Store around and drink my
- 45:47Speaker 2: high as well right here at Rouse's.
