- 0:01Hey, kids, here we are at the Downtown Renaissance Festival.
- 0:05Would you look at that feller over there?
- 0:07He looks like one of those fancy St. performers.
- 0:10I, Ernest P Wordle, shall investigate further.
- 0:14Come on kids, follow me. To be or not to be that?
- 0:21Is the question. Well, that sounds like Mr.
- 0:24Shakespeare himself. What's the answer, Mr.
- 0:27Shakespeare? Oh well.
- 0:29Well, I'm not sure. It's your choice to be or not to
- 0:35be our side chooseth. Yeah, the Bible says choose for
- 0:40yourselves this day whom you will serve.
- 0:43But As for me, in my house, we will serve the Lord.
- 0:47Joshua 2415 So. Then the question.
- 0:51Is to be a servant. Or not to be a servant?
- 0:55No, Sir, that's not entirely true.
- 0:58You see, everyone is a servant. The question is, who are you
- 1:02going to serve? So.
- 1:03Then I shall ask. It to be a servant.
- 1:06Of the Lord or not to be a servant of the Lord that.
- 1:10Is the question that is correct a Mundo?
- 1:13Mr. Shakespeareth, when you choose to be a servant of the
- 1:17Lord, you're really choosing to be a leader.
- 1:20We choose to become leaders by obeying God's Word.
- 1:24I'll be seeing you, Mr. Shakespeare.
- 1:26I got to go. Would you look you there, Suzie
- 1:31Q's ripping the petals off of another flower.
- 1:34She's been doing that an awful lot lately.
- 1:37Reckon I'll go over there and try to save that flower.
- 1:40He loves me, He loves me not. He loves me, he loves me not.
- 1:46So that's what all this is about.
- 1:48Hey there, Suzie Q. Ernest, you scared me.
- 1:52I don't mean to scare you, Suzie.
- 1:53Q Everybody knows he loves you. The question is, do you love
- 1:58him? It's your choice.
- 1:59He loves me, my choice. Sure, the Bible says choose for
- 2:04yourselves this day whom you will serve, but As for me, in my
- 2:08house we will serve the Lord. Joshua, 2415.
- 2:12Ernest. Yes, Susie Q.
- 2:14I've already chosen to serve the Lord, I already know Jesus loves
- 2:19me, and I know we choose to become leaders by obeying God's
- 2:23Word. Well, what were you picking the
- 2:25petals off of that flower for? I was thinking about you.
- 2:29I got to go. My mom was in the oven.
- 2:31I mean, the cake is calling me. I mean, what's that over there?
- 2:36Ernest play for me. Looks like the coast is clear.
- 2:42I think I gave Susie Q the slip. Know what I mean, kids?
- 2:45Oh, would you look at that, It's my good buddy Daryl.
- 2:48I reckon he's going to want to play another one of them games
- 2:51where I end up getting slapped in the face.
- 2:53Hey Ernest, want to play a little game?
- 2:56Sure, I love games. Pick a hand, any hand.
- 3:00It's your choice. Oh goody, I get to choose.
- 3:05I love choosing course. It's always good if you choose
- 3:09the right thing. I'll pick that one.
- 3:13Ouch. You chose wrong, Ernest.
- 3:15I guess so why do I get the feeling I can't win this game?
- 3:19Want to play again Ernest? Maybe later, right now I got a
- 3:23choice for you, Daryl. What is it?
- 3:25Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.
- 3:28But As for me, in my house, we will serve the Lord.
- 3:31Joshua, 2415. What are you blabbing about,
- 3:34Ernest? It's a choice we all have to
- 3:36make in life, Daryl. Only this is not a childish
- 3:39prank. And what if I don't?
- 3:41Choose. You snooze, you lose.
- 3:43Know what I mean, Daryl? The only way to win is to choose
- 3:46to serve the Lord, and by choosing to serve the Lord, you
- 3:50choose to become a leader by obeying God's Word.
- 3:52Ernest, there you are. Susie Q, I'd like you to meet
- 3:57Daryl. Daryl, this is Susie Q.
- 4:00Daryl, do you have a girlfriend? Ernest got to go.
- 4:05Oh, where did I put that flower? Ernest, Daryl, wait for me.
- 4:12The Bible teaches us to always remember the Lord and put Him
- 4:16first place in our lives. In the book of Joshua, Joshua
- 4:20tells the people it's their choice to fear the Lord, which
- 4:23means respect Him and serve him with their whole hearts.
- 4:27Joshua chose to do the right thing, whether other people
- 4:31agreed with him or not. He decided that he and his
- 4:35family would serve the Lord, and that was definitely the right
- 4:40choice. Oh, you, you just had to listen
- 4:47to that snake, didn't you? Well, why didn't you stop me if
- 4:50you didn't want me to eat that apple?
- 4:53You saw the whole thing. Oh, don't try and blame me for
- 4:56your mistake. God wants His children to be
- 4:59trustworthy, willing to accept responsibility for their
- 5:03actions. To him, Him who knows the right
- 5:06thing to do and does not do it, To him it is sin.
- 5:10James 4/17. That's a verse from the New
- 5:14Testament. It hasn't even been written yet.
- 5:17I'm not the real eve, I'm just reading what's on the script.
- 5:22Hello. I got to go talk to Freddie
- 5:25about this. It's not right.
- 5:27When I come back, we'll start over from the top.
- 5:30Sorry about that. You just had to listen to that
- 5:37snake, didn't you? Why didn't you stop me if you
- 5:40didn't want me to eat that apple?
- 5:43Don't try to blame me for your mistake.
- 5:46God wants His children to be trustworthy, willing to accept
- 5:50responsibility for their actions.
- 5:52My actions. Why don't you accept
- 5:56responsibility for not making the serpent leave?
- 5:59God gave you authority, you know.
- 6:02Adam. Where are you?
- 6:05That's God. Quick hide.
- 6:08Adam, why are you hiding behind the puppet stage?
- 6:12Should he say? Puppet stage there.
- 6:14Wasn't a puppet stage in the Garden of Eden?
- 6:16Just go with it. Fine, Adam, what have you done?
- 6:22It wasn't me, it was the woman you gave.
- 6:25Me Adam, to him who knows the right thing to do and does not
- 6:29do it, To him it is sin. James 4/17.
- 6:34Why is he saying that? I thought we talked about that
- 6:36verse. Don't look at me, I'm not the
- 6:39director. To him who knows the right thing
- 6:42to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
- 6:46James 4/17. Cut Freddy, can I talk to you
- 6:51for a minute? Not again.
- 6:54Oh. I said the verse again.
- 6:56Sorry. Adam, where are you?
- 7:05Why are you hiding? Adam, I'm here.
- 7:08Adam, what have you done? It wasn't me, it was the woman
- 7:12you gave me. It wasn't my fault.
- 7:15It was the snake. He tricked me.
- 7:18I want my children to be trustworthy, willing to accept
- 7:23responsibility for their actions from now on.
- 7:26Adam, you'll have to work hard to make a living.
- 7:29Eve, when you have children, it will be hard work for you too.
- 7:34And the snake will crawl on his belly from now on.
- 7:38The. End.
- 7:40Now that was much better, especially having Freddie walk
- 7:43around instead of just talking, don't you think?
- 7:46I like the verse. To him who knows the right thing
- 7:49to do and does not do it. To him it is sin.
- 7:52James 4/17 That just says it all.
- 7:55I agree. I know it's New Testament, but
- 7:58that was exactly Adam's problem, like so many people today.
- 8:03To him who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, To
- 8:07him, it is sin. James 4/17.
- 8:11You're right. OK, let's do it again.
- 8:13Can't I got to go home and feed the kids?
- 8:16See ya. I can't stay either.
- 8:19I've got an appointment with a dentist.
- 8:21I'm getting my teeth cleaned. All right, Private Jerry, this
- 8:28is where we'll camp for the night.
- 8:30Why don't you sleep over there? It's dark over there, Sergeant
- 8:33Dean. Besides, there's no tent over
- 8:36there for me to sleep in. That's.
- 8:38Because the tent is in your. Backpack.
- 8:40Oh yeah, that's right. It's in my backpack because
- 8:44that's where I put it. You said we were going camping
- 8:47and so I put my tent in the backpack so that I would have a
- 8:51place to sleep. That's right, Private.
- 8:54So do I sleep in the backpack or should I take the tent out of
- 8:59the backpack? Why don't I just take it out of
- 9:04the backpack? Set it up over there, away from
- 9:09my tent. Or that's a good idea, Sergeant,
- 9:13because my Mama says I snore real loud and I wouldn't want to
- 9:16keep you awake. Private, What are you doing?
- 9:23What am I doing? I'm going over there to take out
- 9:26my tent like you said. I mean, what are you doing
- 9:30holding the Bible down in front of you like that?
- 9:32Oh well, the Bible says that God's word is a lamp to my feet
- 9:36and a light to my path, so I'm using it to go over there since
- 9:39it's dark and I don't want to trip and fall because I didn't
- 9:43bring any band aids in case I scrape my knee or something.
- 9:48Here use my flashlight. We're being attacked by aliens.
- 9:54Run for cover, Sergeant Beam. Calm down, private.
- 9:58This is a flashlight. It's to help you see where
- 10:01you're going in the dark. I thought it was an alien ship
- 10:05trying to beam us up. Buddy, it was just a flashlight.
- 10:11Hey, then it's like my Bible. Well, sort of.
- 10:15You should read your Bible so that you'll always know what to
- 10:18do in life. The Bible will help you know
- 10:20what is right and wrong, and of course then you'll do the right
- 10:23thing. That's what I said.
- 10:25God's word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
- 10:29But a flashlight works better to help you see in the dark when
- 10:32you're trying to set up a tent. Oh yeah, thanks.
- 10:39Did you say set up a tent? Because if you said set up a
- 10:43tent, I've never set up a tent before and I don't think I can
- 10:48do it. Just follow the easy step by
- 10:50step instructions that come with every tent.
- 10:54You do have the instructions, don't you?
- 10:55They're on a small white piece of paper.
- 10:58Small white piece of paper. It's like the Bible of tents.
- 11:03God leads US one step at a time, and so do the instructions for
- 11:06assembling your tent. The instructions will help you
- 11:08take simple little steps one at a time so that you can follow
- 11:12them. Where are your instructions?
- 11:14Well, I was pretending to be in the Army earlier, only I didn't
- 11:20have to pretend that part because I am in the Army, but I
- 11:23was pretending pending that I was being attacked by the enemy.
- 11:26And so I found this small white piece of paper and made a paper
- 11:30airplane, and I was throwing it in the air and the wind caught
- 11:33it, and now I don't know where it is.
- 11:36I'm pretty sure those were my instructions.
- 11:40How did you ever get in the army?
- 11:43Well, you see, I wanted to play soldiers and I couldn't find my
- 11:46GI Joe. So I thought if I could find a
- 11:48uniform big enough that I could be the GI Joe, and this is the
- 11:52only place I could find in the uniform.
- 11:54So here I am only on GI Jerry because Jerry is my name.
- 11:59But then you already know that, don't you, Sergeant Dean?
- 12:03Back it up, private. Let's go back to the barracks.
- 12:07Does that mean we're not going to camp out?
- 12:10You're not upset at me, are you, Sergeant?
- 12:13My mom used to get upset at me and then she'd start crying.
- 12:17Are you going to cry, Sergeant? Sergeant.
- 12:24Even when it seems like we're in the dark, not knowing what to
- 12:27do, Jesus said that God's word is a lamp to our feet and a
- 12:32light to our path. It's.
- 12:33Easy to say I can't or I don't know how, but that's not a good
- 12:37habit to form. God's Word helps us understand
- 12:41how big God is and how we can trust Him to work in US and
- 12:45through us. A big part of growing up is
- 12:47finding the courage to face challenges and learn new things,
