- 0:55Speaker 4: Heather MacDonald. Juicy Scoop. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:01Speaker 6: I have the juiciest interview with Holly and Bridget from
- 1:04Speaker 6: Girls Next Door with everything that's happened since all the
- 1:07Speaker 6: inside scoop.
- 1:08Speaker 4: You're going to die. It gets real real.
- 1:10Speaker 6: Before we get to that, I just want to cover
- 1:14Speaker 6: a follow up on the whole Alabama known as Bama Rush,
- 1:18Speaker 6: sorority rush. Out of Alabama, they had bid day. So
- 1:22Speaker 6: either the girls were cheering and were happy or they're
- 1:24Speaker 6: crying or they're transferring schools or they got their second choice.
- 1:27Speaker 4: It's done. It happened Sunday.
- 1:29Speaker 6: What broke on Friday is that my Annie, who was
- 1:34Speaker 6: a sorority girl, she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at
- 1:36Speaker 6: the University of Mississippi, texted me with some real juicy scoop.
- 1:40Speaker 4: And I go, get on it.
- 1:42Speaker 6: I'm going to explain this story as best I can. Okay,
- 1:45Speaker 6: you tell me how I do, Annie. So there were Apparently,
- 1:51Speaker 6: there was a suspicion that microphones were being sent in
- 1:55Speaker 6: to record conversations for HBO Max from Vice Studios that
- 2:02Speaker 6: was supposedly doing something with HBO Max. Now, when I
- 2:05Speaker 6: first heard this, I was like, okay, wait a minute.
- 2:08Speaker 6: That means that they had to find girls that were
- 2:12Speaker 6: already enrolled in Alabama to who would be willing to
- 2:16Speaker 6: put on a mic and go through Rush and send
- 2:19Speaker 6: that recordings to Vice Studios so they could either make
- 2:24Speaker 6: a documentary, make a scripted show.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I'm thinking, was it a mic? Could it have been
- 2:30Speaker 4: like a little body cam cop, like what a cop
- 2:32Speaker 4: would have? I don't know.
- 2:34Speaker 6: And I thought that was a little hard to do
- 2:36Speaker 6: because I'm like, you would have to find someone that
- 2:40Speaker 6: was willing to do this and possibly jeopardize their own
- 2:44Speaker 6: chance of being in a sorority.
- 2:45Speaker 4: And I think.
- 2:46Speaker 6: If someone was a cute type, not cute enough, but
- 2:49Speaker 6: a cute type of sorority type girl, and she's going
- 2:52Speaker 6: to a place like Alabama, which is a big sorority
- 2:55Speaker 6: fraternity place, most likely she would want to rush. But
- 2:59Speaker 6: they believe that this was happening and that this one girl,
- 3:02Speaker 6: I saw her TikTok, she said she got kicked out
- 3:05Speaker 6: because she took a hair tie and put it around
- 3:07Speaker 6: her shirt. And they had heard this rumor, the girls
- 3:10Speaker 6: at Alabama, and they're like, oh my God, you're a mole.
- 3:14Speaker 6: You're like a cop that's like, are you Mike? Like
- 3:18Speaker 6: the mafia. Get the fuck out. What happened? And they
- 3:23Speaker 6: kick her out and she got dropped from Sorority Rush
- 3:26Speaker 6: on suspicion that she might've been a little worker for
- 3:30Speaker 6: HBO Max. Now this one girl said, her name's Emily
- 3:34Speaker 6: Limbaugh and she's 23. She graduated from the University of
- 3:37Speaker 6: Alabama in August. She was an alpha fee there, and
- 3:40Speaker 6: she said she was contacted via Instagram DM by a
- 3:45Speaker 6: woman who identified herself as a producer from Vice Studios
- 3:50Speaker 6: working on a documentary for HBO Max. And she thought
- 3:53Speaker 6: it was super sketchy that the direct message came from
- 3:56Speaker 6: an unverified account with no profile pic, and the account
- 4:01Speaker 6: seems to have been deactivated. Now, the PNMs, what is
- 4:05Speaker 6: PNM standpoint? Oh, potential new member. We never called them that.
- 4:09Speaker 6: I think we just called them like rushies or whatever.
- 4:13Speaker 6: They were told not to post rush TikToks and also, well,
- 4:18Speaker 6: a little too late for that, also not to talk
- 4:21Speaker 6: to reporters if they came to the school or else
- 4:24Speaker 6: they'd be dropped from recruitment. Now, what I thought was
- 4:26Speaker 6: juicy on Friday is that Annie told me that at
- 4:30Speaker 6: University of Mississippi, she heard through the grapevine that the
- 4:34Speaker 6: sorority girls there that were doing Rush, and maybe they
- 4:37Speaker 6: were a little.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Bit behind Bama. We don't do it until next week.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:40Speaker 6: So they're starting next week and this is their work week.
- 4:43Speaker 6: We mean, they get all their stuff together to give
- 4:46Speaker 6: the greatest show and get the best girls. And they
- 4:50Speaker 6: heard about this and they were having people come in
- 4:54Speaker 6: and teach them how to spot a girl who might
- 4:58Speaker 6: have a mic or be mic'd. So here's what I'm thinking.
- 5:03Speaker 6: Whether this is true or not, I think it's a
- 5:05Speaker 6: juicy story to make a whole nother scripted movie about
- 5:10Speaker 6: someone wanting to do a documentary about sorority rush. Maybe
- 5:15Speaker 6: the girl's like a little genius and her mom's in
- 5:19Speaker 6: entertainment and the two of them are like, you know what?
- 5:21Speaker 6: We're going to make it in Hollywood. You're going to
- 5:23Speaker 6: go and act like you're going to get into Alabama.
- 5:27Speaker 6: You're going to act like you're into this. And you're
- 5:29Speaker 6: going to do a whole year as a mole and
- 5:31Speaker 6: you're going to be collecting stories and you're going to
- 5:33Speaker 6: be doing secret recordings and writing in your notes section
- 5:37Speaker 6: and recording people and all this stuff. And then like
- 5:40Speaker 6: at the end, the girls, she really ends up loving
- 5:43Speaker 6: the girls. She was out there going to come and
- 5:45Speaker 6: be like, these girls are awful people. This is a,
- 5:47Speaker 6: you know, an old fashioned, awful people place for pretty
- 5:51Speaker 6: people who are mean. And then in the end, she
- 5:53Speaker 6: realizes they're all really lovely and they all really care
- 5:57Speaker 6: about each other.
- 5:58Speaker 4: And then she's like, I don't know what to do.
- 6:00Speaker 6: Hollywood's calling and my mom and we're about to like
- 6:04Speaker 6: sell this big thing to Netflix. And I'm going to
- 6:07Speaker 6: be like the next little girl version of Steven Spielberg.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Or I.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Found a boy I like and a sisterhood I love.
- 6:18Speaker 6: There you go.
- 6:19Speaker 4: There you go.
- 6:19Speaker 6: You'll be watching it while getting your hair dried out
- 6:21Speaker 6: at the dry bar in about six years from now.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Very juicy.
- 6:26Speaker 6: Okay, you guys, I hope you have gone to HeatherMcDonald.net.

- 6:49Speaker 4: to Juicy Scoop.
- 6:50Speaker 6: I'm very excited. I have lots of questions for my
- 6:52Speaker 6: two fabulous guests. It's Holly and Bridget, known best from
- 6:56Speaker 6: The Girls Next Door. Now you guys are back because
- 6:59Speaker 6: I'm very excited about your new show.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Thank you. I'm going to watch back the episodes together.
- 7:05Speaker 6: And let us know what's real, what's not, what was
- 7:07Speaker 6: happening in your brain, what was being portrayed.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Very excited. Welcome to Juicy Scoop. Thank you. Yeah, we
- 7:13Speaker 4: have a new podcast. It's called Girls Next Level. And
- 7:15Speaker 4: we will be going back and watching all the episodes
- 7:17Speaker 4: and letting everybody know what was real and what was
- 7:19Speaker 4: fake and all the drama behind the scenes and everything.
- 7:22Speaker 4: So there's a lot to get into.
- 7:24Speaker 6: So, I mean, I'm up. I've had you on the
- 7:27Speaker 6: show before, you know, and I've never met you, Bridget.
- 7:31Speaker 6: I watched the show in the heyday.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Of E.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 6: And, you know, being on Chelsea lately, we would like
- 7:38Speaker 6: follow it and discuss it a lot. And I actually
- 7:42Speaker 6: remember the first time I was even introduced to you,
- 7:44Speaker 6: I was listening to a radio, regular radio show. I
- 7:47Speaker 6: was driving around at night. I don't know what the
- 7:50Speaker 6: show was, but they're like, and we're talking to Holly,
- 7:53Speaker 6: who's Hef's girlfriend.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And this was before the show.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 6: And, and I was like, and the way you like
- 8:00Speaker 6: told the story of like, oh, I was just At
- 8:03Speaker 6: the pool one day or something, and he started to talk. Like,
- 8:05Speaker 6: what is the story? How did you meet Hef?
- 8:08Speaker 4: Well, I had been invited to the parties at the mansion.
- 8:11Speaker 4: I was doing a Hawaiian tropics thing, and, like, Hef's
- 8:14Speaker 4: doctor went there, and he wanted to invite all the
- 8:17Speaker 4: girls from the contest to the mansion, like put them
- 8:20Speaker 4: on the list for the party. And I was so
- 8:21Speaker 4: excited because back then those parties were, like, the hottest
- 8:25Speaker 4: ticket in town, and not just anybody could get in.
- 8:27Speaker 4: So I was super excited, and from there I got in.
- 8:31Speaker 4: I know, but you're cool.
- 8:32Speaker 6: I would go to the parties.
- 8:33Speaker 4: But it was a fun, cool thing to do.
- 8:37Speaker 6: And it was like Hollywood Elite and it was gorgeous.
- 8:40Speaker 6: And I never saw anything creepy when I was there
- 8:44Speaker 6: at those parties. And that was the end of 90s.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So I don't know.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Early 2000s.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Or I just was too focused on the free lamb chops.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 6: So you're at the mansion as a hot tropic girl.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yeah. Or just like a random girl. Yeah.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Random girl who got invited. Just a pretty girl.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:03Speaker 3: All right.
- 9:04Speaker 4: And from there, I got put on the list to
- 9:05Speaker 4: go to the pool parties they would have every Sunday.
- 9:08Speaker 4: And that was like a smaller, more intimate group. And
- 9:10Speaker 4: I would go to those every Sunday and like make
- 9:12Speaker 4: friends there. And everybody just seemed so nice, all of
- 9:14Speaker 4: his friends. And after a while, that kind of started
- 9:16Speaker 4: to feel like a community I was a part of
- 9:19Speaker 4: a little bit. And then I got into a place
- 9:20Speaker 4: in my life where I had nowhere to live, like
- 9:23Speaker 4: just all this crazy stuff had happened in my life.
- 9:24Speaker 4: And I was like, you know what, he has a
- 9:27Speaker 4: spot open as one of his girlfriends, so maybe I
- 9:29Speaker 4: should move in here. Like, it didn't, it sounds crazy,
- 9:31Speaker 4: but it didn't feel like that much of a stretch
- 9:34Speaker 4: at the time for me.
- 9:35Speaker 6: And at that time when you said he has a
- 9:36Speaker 6: spot open, had you guys already been intimate at least once?
- 9:40Speaker 4: No, what had happened is I'd been invited to go
- 9:42Speaker 4: out with them a few times, so I always kind
- 9:44Speaker 4: of thought in the back of my head, like, oh,
- 9:46Speaker 4: maybe if I wanted to be a girlfriend, maybe it
- 9:48Speaker 4: could be an option, but it wasn't really anything special.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I thought I would do or ever have the balls
- 9:52Speaker 4: to do if I wasn't kind of like desperate for
- 9:54Speaker 4: a place to live. So I approached him and I
- 9:57Speaker 4: was like, oh, I'd love to go out with you guys.
- 9:59Speaker 4: maybe this week or something. And he was like, okay,
- 10:01Speaker 4: we'll have my secretary call you. And it just happened
- 10:03Speaker 4: from there. Okay.
- 10:05Speaker 6: So then, you know, we kind of know from the
- 10:08Speaker 6: show and stuff that you got to bone him. You
- 10:12Speaker 6: got to bone him with the other girls. And once
- 10:16Speaker 6: that happened, then were you just like, well, I guess
- 10:18Speaker 6: I'll make the best of this. And then absolutely.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Once you've gone.
- 10:22Speaker 5: That far, it's like, I'm going to stick around for this.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Like I put, like I compromised that, you know, how.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Did you meet him?
- 10:28Speaker 6: And like, where, where did the years collide where you
- 10:30Speaker 6: guys met before the show started?
- 10:33Speaker 4: Well, you moved in and started coming out with half,
- 10:34Speaker 4: maybe like nine months after I moved in. Okay. So
- 10:37Speaker 4: it was pretty close.
- 10:38Speaker 6: And was, what was your story? Do you, were you
- 10:39Speaker 6: like just a cute girl at the parties or what happened?
- 10:42Speaker 5: I had met him way before. Um, I had, Tested
- 10:45Speaker 5: for a playmate. They brought me out to the mansion
- 10:47Speaker 5: and did like the full test and everything. So I
- 10:50Speaker 5: spent like three days there and I met him. And
- 10:54Speaker 5: then I didn't get it. I didn't find out for
- 10:56Speaker 5: a year and a half that I didn't get it.
- 10:57Speaker 5: And I never went back to the mansion in that
- 10:59Speaker 5: time because I didn't know I could.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Were you living in L.A. that time?
- 11:02Speaker 5: No, I was living in Northern California.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Desperately wanting to be in L.A. and wishing I could
- 11:07Speaker 5: go to the parties and, like, be a part of
- 11:09Speaker 5: all of that kind of thing. And then one day
- 11:13Speaker 5: somebody told me, oh, you know, if you tested before,
- 11:15Speaker 5: you could go to the parties. And I was like, wait, what?
- 11:19Speaker 6: Like, I missed out a year and a half.
- 11:21Speaker 4: I did. I did.
- 11:23Speaker 5: And some of the best years of Playboy parties, too.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Because I tested at the end of 98. So, like,
- 11:28Speaker 5: 99 and 2000. Like, those are the parties I was missing.
- 11:31Speaker 4: You missed me.
- 11:31Speaker 5: The prime. The prime time.
- 11:34Speaker 6: So, then people know the story. But I got married.
- 11:37Speaker 6: And I got invited to the New Year's Eve party,
- 11:41Speaker 6: which was 2000. And we had the seven girlfriends. And
- 11:46Speaker 6: so I called RSVP and normally I'd bring a girlfriend
- 11:49Speaker 6: that then I'd have to send in.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Her photo or whatever.
- 11:51Speaker 6: But if I had a girlfriend that was already approved,
- 11:53Speaker 6: then she could come with me every time. And I
- 11:55Speaker 6: was like, well, now I'd like to have a different
- 11:57Speaker 6: guest this time.
- 11:58Speaker 4: It's my husband. And he's really cool.
- 12:00Speaker 6: And they're like, uh, what?
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. This is a singles party. It
- 12:05Speaker 4: just hung up on me.
- 12:06Speaker 6: And I was never invited again.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 12:10Speaker 6: And I was like, so fun.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Because honestly, my husband's the most non-dose person in the world.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 4: And I don't know if I would have.
- 12:14Speaker 6: spent New Year's Eve without him, but like I could
- 12:17Speaker 6: have gone to the one in April or Halloween or whatever.
- 12:19Speaker 6: He wouldn't have cared with a girlfriend, but cause I
- 12:22Speaker 6: was in the business and it was like, whatever, get some.
- 12:24Speaker 4: So. Anyway, continue. So you missed me at the parties.
- 12:27Speaker 5: I missed the parties.
- 12:28Speaker 6: So you start coming down.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I start coming down. The first party I get
- 12:32Speaker 5: invited to is Midsommars of 2000, which was incredible and amazing.
- 12:37Speaker 5: And then I just really had the bug. Like, I
- 12:39Speaker 5: really want to be here. I really want to be
- 12:41Speaker 5: doing this. I finally just like took my savings and
- 12:43Speaker 5: moved to L.A. and was able through, you know, the
- 12:46Speaker 5: contacts to just be able to come to Fun in
- 12:47Speaker 5: the Sun and Buffet Dinner and Movie and I have
- 12:50Speaker 5: called one time in March and asked me if I
- 12:53Speaker 5: wanted to go out with him and the girls, and
- 12:55Speaker 5: I was like, oh, no. I've heard stories about what
- 12:58Speaker 5: goes on, and no.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Oh, you said no?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 5: I just really want to be a playmate. That's why
- 13:05Speaker 5: I'm here, doing stuff for the entertainment industry. I had
- 13:08Speaker 5: to broadcast journalism. communications degree. So I was auditioning for
- 13:13Speaker 5: things and I wanted to be a playmate, but being
- 13:15Speaker 5: a girlfriend or going out, like, no, that's not what
- 13:18Speaker 5: I had in mind here. And he was very gracious
- 13:21Speaker 5: and nice about it. And it was, everything was fine.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Then a couple months later, I was like, you know what?
- 13:27Speaker 5: Like nothing had moved in my life really. And I thought,
- 13:29Speaker 5: what do I have to lose like this? I could
- 13:31Speaker 5: be missing out on some really cool opportunities. I was
- 13:34Speaker 5: watching other girls kind of come and go and all
- 13:36Speaker 5: the fun they were having going out. And I thought,
- 13:38Speaker 5: Why am I not letting myself do this?
- 13:41Speaker 6: So when you're thinking that, are you like, all right,
- 13:44Speaker 6: I'm just going to have to hop on and count
- 13:47Speaker 6: to 11 and let this be over?
- 13:49Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 13:50Speaker 6: I don't know if it was that long.
- 13:53Speaker 5: How do you just.
- 13:54Speaker 6: Gear yourself and be like, all right, I am going
- 13:56Speaker 6: to do this thing, which is not something... I'm super
- 14:00Speaker 6: excited to be, but like, who really care? Like, how
- 14:02Speaker 6: do you justify it in your mind of like, you've
- 14:05Speaker 6: been a pretty girl that probably always had someone age
- 14:08Speaker 6: appropriate boyfriends. And now you're going to go and be
- 14:10Speaker 6: with this really older guy. You're going to share them
- 14:12Speaker 6: with people, but like. Thank God you're sharing them with people. Like,
- 14:15Speaker 6: I'm almost thinking, like, where did you justify it?
- 14:18Speaker 5: Sort of. I sort of had that in mind. But
- 14:19Speaker 5: I was also thinking that I could get out of
- 14:21Speaker 5: this for a little while. Like, the first night I
- 14:23Speaker 5: was like, I'm not ready yet. So I'm just going to, like,
- 14:25Speaker 5: kind of check it out and see what's going on.
- 14:28Speaker 5: But I'm not going to do anything I don't want
- 14:29Speaker 5: to do.
- 14:30Speaker 4: That's what I thought, too. I never thought I would.
- 14:32Speaker 4: necessarily have to go the first night or be the
- 14:34Speaker 4: first one the first night.
- 14:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 5: And it's not like I never would have done it
- 14:39Speaker 5: with him, but I wasn't ready at that moment. But
- 14:43Speaker 5: there's other girls that put pressure on you. Like she
- 14:46Speaker 5: straight up told me, you'll never be invited back if
- 14:48Speaker 5: you don't do this tonight. So then it's like you've
- 14:52Speaker 5: put in all this time and all this effort and
- 14:54Speaker 5: you've had such a great night. Like it's really fun
- 14:56Speaker 5: going out with Hef and stuff. And you think, wait,
- 14:59Speaker 5: do I want this all to end like right now?
- 15:01Speaker 5: Plus you've been drinking. Plus you're tired.
- 15:03Speaker 6: Yeah, you're wasted.
- 15:04Speaker 4: That's step one.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Everybody else is doing it.
- 15:07Speaker 6: And are you guys just drinking or are you partaking
- 15:10Speaker 6: in some other stuff too?
- 15:12Speaker 4: I was just drinking, but I drank a lot. I
- 15:14Speaker 4: was just so nervous that first night that I was
- 15:16Speaker 4: just down in them all night. Yeah. What was your
- 15:18Speaker 4: drink of choice? Well, this was 2001, so it was
- 15:22Speaker 4: vodka cranberry. Absolutely. Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Still great.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Still a great drink.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 5: I mean, there's nothing wrong with that drink.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Full of hidden sugar.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 6: So I wouldn't drink it now.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Oh, that's true.
- 15:32Speaker 6: Yeah. You just did the splash now.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Splash of cranberry, vodka soda.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Vodka water.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Vodka club soda, yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Or whatever, Perrier.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Yeah. For me, just alcohol as well. I was offered
- 15:45Speaker 5: the Quaalude. But I was like, no, I don't even know. Like,
- 15:50Speaker 5: I'd never done anything like that.
- 15:51Speaker 6: And quaalids were, like, not around. Like, quaalids were, to me,
- 15:55Speaker 6: I heard about quaalids, like, in the 80s and, like, 70s.
- 15:59Speaker 6: You hear about them past tense, yeah. Yeah, like, it wasn't, like,
- 16:03Speaker 6: none of our friends were doing it or, you know, like,
- 16:05Speaker 6: so I was like, that must have been kind of weird.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Yeah. It was definitely weird. Like, I knew what it was,
- 16:10Speaker 4: but I have to imagine a lot of girls my
- 16:12Speaker 4: age back then probably didn't know what it was. Like,
- 16:14Speaker 4: Wolf of Wall Street wasn't even out then. We didn't
- 16:16Speaker 4: even have, like, that cultural touchstone to know, like, what
- 16:18Speaker 4: a Quaalude does or anything.
- 16:20Speaker 5: I had no idea what it was, but I just
- 16:22Speaker 5: was like, I've never done anything like that. So I
- 16:24Speaker 5: was like, no. You know, I mean, I just drank
- 16:27Speaker 5: and I smoked a little bit of pot in my past.
- 16:30Speaker 5: That's the extent of what I had done. So I
- 16:32Speaker 5: wasn't interested in doing that. But I got in trouble
- 16:34Speaker 5: from the other girls for declining it.
- 16:37Speaker 4: You mean they were just pissed?
- 16:38Speaker 5: Yeah, they were like, don't decline it or he'll quit
- 16:40Speaker 5: giving it to us.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Oh, don't decline the Quaalude.
- 16:43Speaker 6: I thought you meant the dick. No. I was like,
- 16:47Speaker 6: are you sure?
- 16:48Speaker 5: Everybody would have been excited about that. No, the Quaalude.
- 16:55Speaker 5: And so in the future, I would accept it and
- 16:57Speaker 5: just throw it in my purse.
- 16:59Speaker 6: And do you think the girls wanted it just because, again,
- 17:02Speaker 6: it just made the whole process just less memorable for them?
- 17:05Speaker 4: That's what I'm wondering. Either they wanted it to take
- 17:08Speaker 4: it or maybe they were, like, hoarding it and selling it.
- 17:10Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 17:11Speaker 6: I have no idea either. They kept wanting to get
- 17:12Speaker 6: the Quaaludes, but apparently it was a thing. Interesting.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 6: You know what?
- 17:16Speaker 5: And at some point the Quaaludes just stopped. And I
- 17:18Speaker 5: don't even know when that was or why that was
- 17:20Speaker 5: or anything.
- 17:21Speaker 4: I feel like it was around like 2003, 2004. I
- 17:24Speaker 4: feel like it's because we didn't have a girl in
- 17:26Speaker 4: the group who was like a recruiter anymore.
- 17:28Speaker 6: A recruiter that would get new girls to come in.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Yeah, like a Ghislaine Maxwell type person. I feel like the.
- 17:34Speaker 6: Recruiting and getting the new people again was like taking
- 17:39Speaker 6: the heat off of you to sexually satisfy him.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and she has more value in the group because
- 17:45Speaker 4: he knows she recruits girls.
- 17:49Speaker 6: And when someone recruits somebody, like, how do you sell
- 17:52Speaker 6: me on it? Like, let's say I'm the cute girl
- 17:55Speaker 6: at the party. And F's like, hmm, she's attractive. And
- 17:58Speaker 6: he says it to the recruiter. How does the recruiter, like,
- 18:01Speaker 6: then come to me, like, and we just, like, role play? Like,
- 18:04Speaker 6: to get me to be, like, feel me out to
- 18:06Speaker 6: see if I'm interested and if I'd be, like, a good,
- 18:09Speaker 6: cool person to hang.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Like, what do you say to me? I mean, she
- 18:11Speaker 4: was a really fun person with, like, a fun personality.
- 18:14Speaker 4: So she could easily just go up to anybody and
- 18:16Speaker 4: be like, oh, hey, want a drink? Want to hang out? Blah, blah, blah.
- 18:18Speaker 4: And then it just escalates from there after somebody's been drinking.
- 18:21Speaker 5: When you offer somebody to come behind the velvet ropes
- 18:24Speaker 5: and drink for free with your unlimited bottle service and
- 18:27Speaker 5: dancing with half.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Oh, at a club, you mean.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Yeah, at a club or at a party.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Okay, or at a Playboy party.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Yeah, like it's really– it's exciting and it's fun and
- 18:37Speaker 5: you're behind the velvet ropes and everybody's looking in and
- 18:39Speaker 5: you're like one of those people that are there, like
- 18:42Speaker 5: VIP and stuff. So I feel like it would be
- 18:44Speaker 5: a pretty easy sell.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 18:45Speaker 5: And do you want to come back to the Playboy
- 18:47Speaker 5: Mansion with us?
- 18:48Speaker 6: I also think when you– When you're not used to
- 18:52Speaker 6: getting attention like that at a nightclub where people are like, oh,
- 18:56Speaker 6: my God, it's happened to girlfriends. That's like makes the
- 18:59Speaker 6: night 10 times more fun than if you were just
- 19:01Speaker 6: with your other pretty girlfriends going out to a nightclub.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:04Speaker 6: You know, because it's like you're a star, you.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Know, and you get that.
- 19:07Speaker 6: Celebrity and everyone's so much nicer to you.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 6: You know, people want to see you and, like, yeah.
- 19:13Speaker 6: Nobody checks your ID when you walk in.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Yeah, we talk about this on the podcast, too. Like,
- 19:16Speaker 5: the C's just part when you walk into the club
- 19:19Speaker 5: and everybody's in awe.
- 19:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 19:21Speaker 5: Here comes Hef and this gaggle of girlfriends, like, all
- 19:25Speaker 5: walking single file to this roped-off area.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 19:29Speaker 5: This roped-off area with, like, you know, five, six security
- 19:33Speaker 5: people standing all around it and.
- 19:37Speaker 6: So you go, so you go out that night, you go,
- 19:40Speaker 6: I guess I have to take my turn.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 6: And then once it's over.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Well, I didn't say, oh, I guess I have to
- 19:48Speaker 5: take my turn.
- 19:49Speaker 4: I was.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Still just going to watch.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Okay.
- 19:53Speaker 5: And then she was like, aren't you going to, that
- 19:55Speaker 5: same girl was like, aren't you going to go? It's like,
- 19:57Speaker 5: you need to go. And I was like, I would
- 19:59Speaker 5: rather not. And she was like, well, then probably won't
- 20:02Speaker 5: be invited back. So then I was like, okay. And
- 20:05Speaker 5: I'd seen what everybody else was doing. So I knew
- 20:07Speaker 5: that this was like a 10 second thing.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I mean, definitely no more than a minute.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Would you say?
- 20:14Speaker 4: I mean, my mouth is cloudy. I've kind of blocked it.
- 20:16Speaker 4: But yeah, I would say you're right. It's short. Right.
- 20:20Speaker 6: The car is beautiful.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Where did you end up going for it? This exclusive
- 20:25Speaker 4: place that Dad has connections with. They have more cars
- 20:27Speaker 4: for more dealerships than like anywhere else. You have to
- 20:30Speaker 4: put me in touch.
- 20:30Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 20:31Speaker 4: It's Dune ADL. Where? Dune ADL. There's an accent on
- 20:37Speaker 4: the E.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Do you mean.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yes, I got it on Dune Deal Cars.
- 20:41Speaker 5: Lift? Please.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Please. You're going past Kimmage. Oh, Kimmage.
- 20:46Speaker 6: No.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Done deal cars.
- 20:48Speaker 3: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 20:54Speaker 2: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 20:57Speaker 2: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 21:01Speaker 2: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 21:07Speaker 5: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 21:10Speaker 5: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 21:13Speaker 5: what would you do if it was given back?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 21:18Speaker 2: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 21:20Speaker 4: He said, I have a work dad.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I need a home dad.
- 21:22Speaker 4: What happens next?
- 21:24Speaker 5: When I came in, he started crying.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 21:30Speaker 2: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 21:32Speaker 2: happens next.
- 21:34Speaker 4: I decided to risk it all.
- 21:35Speaker 5: I realized how valuable every day was.
- 21:37Speaker 4: You're worth the work.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 21:40Speaker 4: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 21:42Speaker 2: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 21:56Speaker 5: Everybody's very encouraging.
- 21:58Speaker 4: It's purely teamwork.
- 21:59Speaker 5: It is. It actually is. Everyone is very encouraging.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Everyone's just like, we all have to do this together. So, yeah.
- 22:07Speaker 4: And is it like, I don't want to be the first.
- 22:09Speaker 6: I don't want to be the last. Is number three
- 22:11Speaker 6: the best? If everyone's doing it, is there a time
- 22:15Speaker 6: that you'd rather do it or not?
- 22:17Speaker 4: I don't think so. Oh, for me there was. I
- 22:21Speaker 4: felt like everybody was just trying to get it done
- 22:23Speaker 4: as quickly as possible, like the whole process.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Well, once, after that first night, like when I tried
- 22:28Speaker 5: not to do it, after that, I wanted to be
- 22:30Speaker 5: first because there was no way I wanted going after
- 22:33Speaker 5: other people.
- 22:34Speaker 6: Right, because that was the other thing is they said
- 22:36Speaker 6: it was no condoms, so you all could possibly have
- 22:41Speaker 6: spread something unintentionally.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you were hoping everyone's in the same situation and
- 22:46Speaker 5: there is a doctor on staff and you're hoping everybody
- 22:49Speaker 5: is being checked out and everybody's being, I say this
- 22:52Speaker 5: in quotes, monogamous to that relationship.
- 22:54Speaker 4: You know, but.
- 22:56Speaker 5: you don't know.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:57Speaker 5: And if there's new girls coming up, which there often
- 23:00Speaker 5: were like, I just wanted to be first and be done.
- 23:03Speaker 5: And that I felt like that was the cleanest way
- 23:07Speaker 5: to be in and out of it.
- 23:08Speaker 6: So then how long were you guys both living in
- 23:11Speaker 6: the house together and being part of one? Like how
- 23:15Speaker 6: many girls were there when this opportunity came up to like, Hey,
- 23:19Speaker 6: we've been approached to possibly do a reality show. And
- 23:22Speaker 6: how did that all come about? How did they sell
- 23:23Speaker 6: it to you?
- 23:23Speaker 4: What was you?
- 23:25Speaker 5: It wasn't like that at all.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Okay. We both lived there for about seven years total.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 23:30Speaker 4: And there was a constant turnover of the other women.
- 23:33Speaker 4: And Bridget and I had lived there for about... Three years,
- 23:37Speaker 4: I think, before Hef kicked everybody else out and Kendra
- 23:40Speaker 4: moved in. And then it became just three of us
- 23:42Speaker 4: rather than seven, which was a big relief because.
- 23:44Speaker 6: There was a lot less drama. And did you always
- 23:47Speaker 6: get to have your own bedroom?
- 23:48Speaker 2: No.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I had to share with Hef, and I had zero
- 23:50Speaker 4: privacy ever. I asked him if I could have another
- 23:53Speaker 4: room down the hall, and he always said no. But
- 23:55Speaker 4: there were constantly, like, secretaries walking in and out of
- 23:57Speaker 4: his room all day.
- 23:58Speaker 6: And when did you get chosen to be the girl
- 24:01Speaker 6: that lives in the room and– At that time, you
- 24:05Speaker 6: were like, I guess, into it as far as being
- 24:08Speaker 6: like the number one girl. Like, how did that come about?
- 24:12Speaker 4: I moved into his room about six months after I
- 24:14Speaker 4: moved in. But we started talking about it almost immediately
- 24:18Speaker 4: after I moved in because I moved in and I
- 24:20Speaker 4: was kind of the one girl who liked to stay
- 24:22Speaker 4: at home and like to go to the buffet dinners
- 24:24Speaker 4: and like to watch the old movies and stuff. And
- 24:26Speaker 4: everybody else who had been there did not want to
- 24:29Speaker 4: be the main girlfriend because they know, like, you have
- 24:31Speaker 4: to share a room. You're under the microscope. Like, you
- 24:33Speaker 4: just can't kind of go off and do your own
- 24:35Speaker 4: thing as much. So everybody was like, oh, I think
- 24:37Speaker 4: you're going to be Hef's new girlfriend. And I had
- 24:40Speaker 4: never thought that would be me because I was the
- 24:41Speaker 4: youngest in the group. And from what I had seen before,
- 24:44Speaker 4: I kind of always assumed the main girlfriend had to
- 24:46Speaker 4: be the oldest for whatever reason just because she had
- 24:48Speaker 4: been before.
- 24:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 4: But I was flattered by it.
- 24:50Speaker 6: And where did that girl go?
- 24:51Speaker 4: Like, where did that one she left and then you
- 24:53Speaker 4: were being chosen to take her place?
- 24:54Speaker 6: Like, how much time was in between and how did
- 24:57Speaker 6: that girl feel and why did she choose to leave
- 24:59Speaker 6: at that time?
- 25:00Speaker 4: Well, I think the reason she wanted to be there
- 25:02Speaker 4: at all was because she wanted a centerfold in the magazine.
- 25:05Speaker 4: So when her centerfold came out, she left. So I
- 25:08Speaker 4: don't think she cared.
- 25:09Speaker 6: So she wanted somebody to take her place. And she
- 25:11Speaker 6: wanted that centerfold because at that time it was such
- 25:13Speaker 6: great publicity. And it was such a great launching pad
- 25:16Speaker 6: for acting roles being that Pam Anderson and that, and
- 25:20Speaker 6: you guys were after Jenny McCarthy.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 6: And so like, yeah, we kind of grew up with that.
- 25:24Speaker 4: So we thought being a playmate, you could be like
- 25:27Speaker 4: the next Pamela Anderson or Anna Nicole Smith or somebody.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Or like, or like an e-news reporter or whatever.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 4: I got it. Okay.
- 25:35Speaker 6: So that girl gets her centerfold.
- 25:37Speaker 4: It's over. She's like, see ya. Yeah. She bails. Okay.
- 25:39Speaker 4: So she was happy somebody else was moving in. Like
- 25:41Speaker 4: there wasn't any like resistance. She passed the baton. Yeah.
- 25:45Speaker 4: So to speak.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Totally.
- 25:47Speaker 6: So, and then, so then when that happened, you get
- 25:51Speaker 6: in the groove and from what, like, tell me, like,
- 25:54Speaker 6: then did you kind of just convince yourself that this was, like,
- 25:59Speaker 6: a normal thing and that it was okay? Or, like,
- 26:02Speaker 6: when did you, did you only recently realize, like, how fucked.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Up it was?
- 26:07Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I always knew, obviously, that the situation
- 26:09Speaker 4: was so far from normal. But I think that was
- 26:12Speaker 4: part of why I was able to make excuses for, like,
- 26:14Speaker 4: his bad behavior in the relationship.
- 26:16Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 26:16Speaker 4: How he treated me because I was already have the
- 26:19Speaker 4: mindset like, well, this isn't going to be ordinary. And
- 26:21Speaker 4: this is kind of like a different special situation. But
- 26:25Speaker 4: I would say I realized how messed up everything was
- 26:28Speaker 4: right when I decided to leave, which was like seven
- 26:30Speaker 4: years later. It's just because I kind of always blamed
- 26:33Speaker 4: all the problems on the other girls. Like, oh, there's
- 26:35Speaker 4: so much drama because we're all not getting along all,
- 26:38Speaker 4: you know, but Hef's the good guy, poor Hef. That
- 26:40Speaker 4: was kind of always my mindset the whole time. But
- 26:43Speaker 4: when Bridget and Kendra left and it was just going
- 26:45Speaker 4: to be me and him, he just started lashing out
- 26:47Speaker 4: at me so much and became really verbally abusive. And
- 26:50Speaker 4: I just realized like the girls were not the problem.
- 26:53Speaker 4: I mean, some of them were the problem. Some of
- 26:55Speaker 4: them weren't so nice, but they weren't the problem the
- 26:58Speaker 4: whole time. He was the problem. So then I left
- 27:01Speaker 4: and I tried to like file the experience away and
- 27:04Speaker 4: just only think about the positive things for a couple
- 27:07Speaker 4: of years. But After a while, I would just look
- 27:09Speaker 4: back on it like anytime I needed to go like
- 27:11Speaker 4: look at an old picture for reference or something. And
- 27:13Speaker 4: I would just see the fakest smile on my face
- 27:16Speaker 4: and just realize how miserable I was the whole time.
- 27:19Speaker 4: And I knew I was miserable when I was there.
- 27:21Speaker 4: It's just that I always blamed it on the other girls. Like,
- 27:23Speaker 4: we used to go out to lunch, you know, so
- 27:25Speaker 4: nobody would, like, eavesdrop on us in the house. Just
- 27:27Speaker 4: the two of you? Yeah, we would go to lunch
- 27:29Speaker 4: and just talk about, like, oh, my God, this is
- 27:30Speaker 4: so miserable. This is so rough.
- 27:31Speaker 6: While you're filming and stuff? Well, even before we were
- 27:34Speaker 6: filming because there was so much drama. So you had
- 27:35Speaker 6: always been friendly. You were always good.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. We were always close.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 27:39Speaker 4: But I always thought, you know, if the other girls left,
- 27:41Speaker 4: things would be great. That was kind of where my
- 27:42Speaker 4: mindset was until, like, the last minute, and then I
- 27:44Speaker 4: decided to leave.
- 27:45Speaker 6: You know what's interesting about it all, which I'm sure
- 27:47Speaker 6: you guys reflect It's like, you know, when you watch
- 27:51Speaker 6: documentaries on cults and polygamy and polygamous cults and how
- 27:57Speaker 6: you just, you know.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Keep rationalizing.
- 28:00Speaker 6: Yeah, and you just kind of think it like that.
- 28:03Speaker 6: Or even if you're in like a work situation where
- 28:05Speaker 6: there's like a boss that kind of sets the tone
- 28:11Speaker 6: so that the minions or whatever... actually start infighting where
- 28:16Speaker 6: they go to lunch and they start talking about everybody
- 28:19Speaker 6: but the boss who's actually creating this environment.
- 28:23Speaker 4: No it's purposeful because he never wanted all of us
- 28:26Speaker 4: to get together and be like you know what we
- 28:28Speaker 4: don't feel like going out tonight we just want to
- 28:30Speaker 4: stay in like he wouldn't want that he wanted us
- 28:32Speaker 4: competing against each other so we had to like go
- 28:35Speaker 4: along with what he wanted because everybody was trying to
- 28:37Speaker 4: one-up everybody else right Okay, so now let's get to
- 28:41Speaker 4: the play. So you guys are friendly.
- 28:43Speaker 6: You're all living there with other people. You go out
- 28:46Speaker 6: one night a week or two nights a week. How
- 28:49Speaker 6: often are you like at a nightclub with a PR situation?
- 28:51Speaker 4: I'd say two nights a week. Did it kind of calm? No,
- 28:56Speaker 4: we didn't stop going out until after the show started filming.
- 28:58Speaker 4: We were still going out two nights a week.
- 29:00Speaker 6: And because of that like PR situation, how did, I'm
- 29:04Speaker 6: assuming that's where someone got the idea of this is
- 29:07Speaker 6: a fabulous reality show.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Like, how did it come about? Well, A & E
- 29:13Speaker 4: originally wanted to do a show because they were doing
- 29:15Speaker 4: Growing Up Gotti at the time. Yes, I remember that show.
- 29:17Speaker 4: So they wanted to do Growing Up Hefner about Hef's
- 29:19Speaker 4: two kids. The boys. Yeah. And Hef was like, no,
- 29:22Speaker 4: I don't want to do that. Like, I'm not a
- 29:23Speaker 4: PTA dad. Maybe they'll want to do something else. So
- 29:26Speaker 4: then the idea turned into let's do a reality show
- 29:29Speaker 4: about the staff at the mansion. So they shot a pilot,
- 29:31Speaker 4: which was supposed to be about the staff at the mansion.
- 29:34Speaker 4: We were in it a little bit, but it was
- 29:35Speaker 4: more so supposed to be about the staff. A &
- 29:37Speaker 4: E decided they didn't want it. They took it to.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Eve.
- 29:39Speaker 6: Oh, they didn't want to do a whole thing about Mary?
- 29:41Speaker 5: No.
- 29:43Speaker 4: So they took it to Eve. Mary, this is the
- 29:46Speaker 4: booking secretary. It was supposed to be about the butlers
- 29:48Speaker 4: and stuff.
- 29:48Speaker 5: Yeah, like prepping for parties. It was kind of like upstairs, downstairs.
- 29:51Speaker 5: Here's Hef and his girlfriend and all these party guests
- 29:54Speaker 5: and celebrities.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Like a Downton Abbey, but for the.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Kind of, yeah.
- 29:57Speaker 5: And then here's the staff trying to like.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Appease it all.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Cater to all their needs.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Got it. Okay. So they took it to E. E.
- 30:03Speaker 4: wanted it, but an executive at E. said, I want
- 30:06Speaker 4: it to be about the girls, though. I want it
- 30:08Speaker 4: to be through their eyes.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Right, which is totally a smarter angle to go. So
- 30:14Speaker 6: then how is it presented that, like, we choose you?
- 30:18Speaker 6: Because at that time now it is just the three
- 30:20Speaker 6: of you living there.
- 30:21Speaker 5: Yeah, the three of us.
- 30:21Speaker 6: Oh, so there was no, like, casting choices.
- 30:24Speaker 5: No.
- 30:24Speaker 6: You were the three.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Okay.
- 30:25Speaker 6: I was under the impression that there was, like, More
- 30:28Speaker 6: like five or six. And they found you guys, they
- 30:31Speaker 6: chose the three of you because you did have the
- 30:33Speaker 6: best personalities to be the official girlfriends featured in the show.
- 30:37Speaker 4: No, it was already narrowed down to three, so that's
- 30:39Speaker 4: just what it was.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:41Speaker 6: So how do they approach you? And were you nervous
- 30:45Speaker 6: or was this like a dream come true? What was
- 30:46Speaker 6: your thoughts?
- 30:47Speaker 4: Well, we were not approached. We were just told. It
- 30:49Speaker 4: was very much like the way we were treated was
- 30:52Speaker 4: kind of like the way a YouTube family will just
- 30:54Speaker 4: throw their kids on the YouTube. Like, yeah, you're here.
- 30:57Speaker 4: You're doing this. This is what you're doing. Like have
- 30:59Speaker 4: even like walked by me in the hall one morning.
- 31:01Speaker 4: It was like, I've decided what your characters are going
- 31:04Speaker 4: to be. And I'm like, oh, okay. Like, you know,
- 31:06Speaker 4: we were just told you're doing this. So unless we
- 31:08Speaker 4: want to, like, move out and, like, start a website.
- 31:11Speaker 6: Change your life. Yeah, exactly.
- 31:12Speaker 4: You have to go along with it.
- 31:13Speaker 5: And they basically told us that if you don't like it,
- 31:15Speaker 5: you know where the door is. Because there's lots of
- 31:16Speaker 5: people that would want your position.
- 31:18Speaker 4: They didn't pay us for the first season. Yeah, we
- 31:20Speaker 4: weren't paid. Like, they paid us. When they ordered more episodes,
- 31:22Speaker 4: they finally paid us.
- 31:23Speaker 6: But they didn't pay us. And what were they paying
- 31:25Speaker 6: you for the second season?
- 31:26Speaker 4: Do you recall? I don't remember. It was minimal. But
- 31:28Speaker 4: it's not like I think I'm this big star with
- 31:30Speaker 4: huge bargaining power back then. But I just wanted what
- 31:32Speaker 4: was fair. Like, you know, it was just like a couple.
- 31:34Speaker 4: a couple thousand bucks an episode or something.
- 31:35Speaker 5: I don't even think we were getting that.
- 31:37Speaker 4: But just the fact that, yeah, just the fact that
- 31:38Speaker 4: they didn't want to pay us anything and just expected
- 31:41Speaker 4: us to do it as the main characters of the show.
- 31:43Speaker 4: So you just signed a release. Yeah, just a release.
- 31:45Speaker 4: No contracts.
- 31:46Speaker 6: Okay, so, and you're like, now they're coming in. They
- 31:50Speaker 6: got the mics on you and that's when we get
- 31:53Speaker 6: to see, so at that time, it is on the
- 31:56Speaker 6: show that you share the room with Half and you're
- 31:59Speaker 6: the main and you, I just kind of remember like
- 32:01Speaker 6: you having your room and you had like a little dog.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Yeah. Later on, I get the dog. A lot of pink. Okay.
- 32:06Speaker 4: And then.
- 32:06Speaker 6: Which also, too, is, like, such, like, a thing that, like.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Such a 2000s reality TV trope, the little dogs.
- 32:12Speaker 6: No, but, like, on the dark side, like, a captive thing. Like,
- 32:15Speaker 6: girls that are, like, held captive. It's, like, all they
- 32:17Speaker 6: want is, like, a little dog.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Oh, I have four. You know what I mean?
- 32:21Speaker 6: Like, all they want is just, like, their little, like,
- 32:23Speaker 6: personal friend. Yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Because it's, like... So, you have your room, and then
- 32:29Speaker 4: Kendra has her room. Okay.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And.
- 32:32Speaker 6: Now, what was your situation with your parents? Were they
- 32:36Speaker 6: excited about this? Were they okay that you were living
- 32:39Speaker 6: this unconventional half-life? In the hopes that you'd be like
- 32:44Speaker 6: a pathway to a bigger entertainment career. Like what were
- 32:47Speaker 6: their thoughts?
- 32:47Speaker 4: Yeah, they were fine with me being at the mansion,
- 32:49Speaker 4: but I didn't tell them any details of what was
- 32:52Speaker 4: going on. I just don't have that relationship with my
- 32:54Speaker 4: parents where I would ever talk about anything like intimate
- 32:56Speaker 4: or anything like that.
- 32:57Speaker 6: So before the show came out, they just thought you
- 32:59Speaker 6: were at the mansion as an aspiring model.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Well, as Hef's girlfriend, but I think a lot of people.
- 33:03Speaker 6: Oh, they knew that you were romantic with him.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Well, a lot of people back then thought it was
- 33:08Speaker 4: all publicity.
- 33:09Speaker 6: That it was fake.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Like, it was kind of like, I would say the public,
- 33:12Speaker 4: they were kind of split. Like, no way they're all
- 33:14Speaker 4: living there and not having sex. But also, no way.
- 33:17Speaker 1: He's 75.
- 33:17Speaker 4: This is all fake. Totally true. Because it was such
- 33:20Speaker 4: a big part of his publicity.
- 33:22Speaker 6: And I think there's a lot of stuff throughout Hollywood
- 33:24Speaker 6: where you're like, even like Pete and Kim. Great publicity stunt.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I'm like, no.
- 33:29Speaker 6: And they were definitely fucking. But like, did it... Was that...
- 33:33Speaker 6: did that contribute to them staying together? Was that a
- 33:36Speaker 6: nice aspect of it?
- 33:37Speaker 4: Probably.
- 33:38Speaker 6: But like, yeah, I think you're right with that. I
- 33:39Speaker 6: remember people always, that was like a discussion we'd have.
- 33:43Speaker 6: All the time.
- 33:43Speaker 5: All the time. Any press I would do, they would ask,
- 33:45Speaker 5: are you sleeping with them? And if I said yes,
- 33:47Speaker 5: they'd be like, there's no way he's sleeping with all
- 33:49Speaker 5: you young girls. And then if I said no, they're like,
- 33:52Speaker 5: there's no way he's letting you girls stay there and
- 33:53Speaker 5: you're not sleeping with them.
- 33:54Speaker 4: And I'm like, so it doesn't, why do I even
- 33:56Speaker 4: bother answering this question?
- 33:57Speaker 6: That's so interesting.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay.
- 34:00Speaker 6: So you tell, what was your situation with your parents?
- 34:03Speaker 5: My parents were excited for me. They thought Playboy was
- 34:07Speaker 5: so cool, and they thought Hef was such a gentleman.
- 34:10Speaker 5: They came up and visited quite a bit. Like, they
- 34:11Speaker 5: were very excited about it.
- 34:13Speaker 6: So neither of your parents had, like, any problem with
- 34:15Speaker 6: the fact that you were, like, nude models?
- 34:18Speaker 4: No, you have to understand, like, I think both of
- 34:20Speaker 4: our parents come from the generation where, like, Playboy was, like,
- 34:23Speaker 4: The classiest magazine. Like, they remember growing up, they remember
- 34:27Speaker 4: hearing about the Playboy clubs were, like, this chic place
- 34:30Speaker 4: to be. So they thought it was cool. And I
- 34:32Speaker 4: don't think we come from, like, super religious families where they're, like, nudity. Like, yeah,
- 34:36Speaker 4: it's kind of like, okay, like when you come from
- 34:39Speaker 4: a small town, but not, like, a huge deal. Yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 6: But with the, on the secrets of Playboy, which I
- 34:44Speaker 6: thought was interesting, is that, like, then the fact, like,
- 34:47Speaker 6: just how you guys signed that release for the show, that, like,
- 34:50Speaker 6: I thought that was so awful that these girls did
- 34:53Speaker 6: photo shoots and things with 1200 photos.
- 34:55Speaker 4: And then like.
- 34:56Speaker 6: Years later, those photos were being used and people were
- 35:00Speaker 6: profiting off of them and they weren't.
- 35:03Speaker 4: And you're like, Oh yeah, I guess that would happen.
- 35:05Speaker 4: And as an actress and stuff.
- 35:08Speaker 6: Cause you know, I, I, people don't understand how hard
- 35:11Speaker 6: it was like for us, you know, like to get
- 35:14Speaker 6: an agent and to do all this. And you, you're like, yeah, if,
- 35:17Speaker 6: if I say no, if I, then I'm deemed difficult
- 35:19Speaker 6: and like, better that I just say, okay.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 6: You know, and like, at least I have a chance
- 35:25Speaker 6: if I act like, no, it's like, so of course,
- 35:28Speaker 6: and what's like a young 21 year old going to
- 35:30Speaker 6: know about contracts and, uh, you know, do you have,
- 35:34Speaker 6: do you own the intellectual property and.
- 35:36Speaker 4: All this kind of stuff?
- 35:37Speaker 6: So yeah, that's crazy. So when the show, so then
- 35:40Speaker 6: when the show started, when it first aired, was it,
- 35:43Speaker 6: how immediate was it that you guys, um, started to,
- 35:47Speaker 6: Like notice how popular it was and then it was
- 35:50Speaker 6: like kind of life changing.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Well, we knew it was popular because they would tell
- 35:53Speaker 4: us that the ratings were so great. Like every morning
- 35:56Speaker 4: after an episode would air, you know, there would be
- 35:59Speaker 4: like these mailboxes downstairs and they'd put a slip of
- 36:01Speaker 4: paper in Hef's mailbox and it would say what the
- 36:03Speaker 4: ratings were. So they always checked on that. So I
- 36:04Speaker 4: knew it was a hit and I knew what like
- 36:06Speaker 4: E's standard of a good rating was. But we didn't
- 36:09Speaker 4: ever feel, I think, like extra famous or anything while
- 36:11Speaker 4: we were there because we always lived in this bubble
- 36:13Speaker 4: where we were so much in half shadow that nothing
- 36:17Speaker 4: really changed. Like, yeah, when we went out, a few
- 36:19Speaker 4: people like knew our names and stuff, but we just
- 36:21Speaker 4: still kind of felt like we were in half shadow.
- 36:23Speaker 4: It just wasn't really that big of a change for us,
- 36:25Speaker 4: I think. I think the worst part was. all of
- 36:29Speaker 4: a sudden you're being talked shit about online. And this
- 36:32Speaker 4: was back in like the early days of like message
- 36:34Speaker 4: boards and stuff. I didn't know everybody in the public
- 36:37Speaker 4: I got talked shit about. I thought it was just us.
- 36:39Speaker 6: And I was like, oh my God, everybody hates us.
- 36:41Speaker 4: This is the worst. It was like rough.
- 36:42Speaker 5: The e-message boards were rough.
- 36:44Speaker 4: The e-message boards were disgusting. What would they say that
- 36:47Speaker 4: was so mean? Just, I mean, probably nothing that would
- 36:49Speaker 4: be considered novel now, but just like gross stuff.
- 36:51Speaker 6: Like, oh my God, these whores.
- 36:53Speaker 4: And they're so disgusting.
- 36:54Speaker 5: And whores and just, you know, I mean, just everything
- 36:56Speaker 5: you could think of that they would say they said.
- 36:59Speaker 6: And so now during that time, are all three of
- 37:02Speaker 6: you still having regular sex with him?
- 37:06Speaker 4: It stopped at some point because the thing with him
- 37:09Speaker 4: was the thing that kind of drove him before was
- 37:12Speaker 4: he was high off of all like the attention of
- 37:15Speaker 4: going out with like the seven girlfriends and constantly trying
- 37:18Speaker 4: to get new people upstairs. But then when the show
- 37:21Speaker 4: came along, he loved the show, obsessed with the show.
- 37:24Speaker 4: It was such a big ego boost for him that
- 37:26Speaker 4: he didn't really care about going out or trying to
- 37:28Speaker 4: get new people to sleep with him anymore. So everything
- 37:30Speaker 4: really just calmed down.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Yeah, he was just kind of set with the way
- 37:33Speaker 5: things were.
- 37:33Speaker 4: So things changed a lot across the board.
- 37:35Speaker 6: So you weren't bringing anyone new, but did the three
- 37:39Speaker 6: of you still have to bone him regularly?
- 37:41Speaker 4: No, it stopped after a while. So did you have
- 37:43Speaker 4: to bone him, Holly, regularly? No, that stopped after a while.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Because I started working at the Playboy studio, too. Right.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I had to be up, like, at the studio at 8,
- 37:51Speaker 4: leave the house at 7.
- 37:52Speaker 6: Because you'd work in helping build the magazine.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:55Speaker 4: So I would go to bed even before he would
- 37:57Speaker 4: go to sleep. Oh, wow.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Yeah. There were a couple of times he would say, like, oh,
- 38:03Speaker 5: maybe we should all– and Kendra and I would look
- 38:05Speaker 5: at each other and be like, no, we're busy.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Oh, we've got to be up early. We're good.
- 38:08Speaker 6: He would say, maybe we all go out again or whatever?
- 38:11Speaker 5: Well, like, he would say, like, maybe we should have
- 38:13Speaker 5: a picnic in the bedroom or something like that. Watch
- 38:16Speaker 5: a movie together or something. And Kendra and I would
- 38:18Speaker 5: be like– Oh, yeah. I've got that interview early in
- 38:21Speaker 5: the morning.
- 38:22Speaker 4: No, not tonight.
- 38:24Speaker 6: And so did you ever like the two of you
- 38:26Speaker 6: go out and be like, isn't this great that we
- 38:28Speaker 6: don't have to fuck them anymore?
- 38:29Speaker 4: This is wonderful.
- 38:30Speaker 6: I'm loving that we like it to be on TV
- 38:33Speaker 6: and like just kind of have a more independent life or?
- 38:35Speaker 4: I don't remember having that conversation. No, I don't remember ever.
- 38:38Speaker 4: But it's something that we wouldn't have.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Even had to.
- 38:41Speaker 6: I'll have a Chinese chicken salad. Ed, isn't this great?
- 38:43Speaker 6: And we don't have to vote.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Well, we were just like, isn't it great? We don't
- 38:46Speaker 4: have to deal with the drama with all those other girls.
- 38:49Speaker 4: That was more the thing that was like on my
- 38:51Speaker 4: mind and like the big deal. And we were just
- 38:53Speaker 4: so grateful that it was just the three of us
- 38:55Speaker 4: and that we got along pretty well. We had the
- 38:57Speaker 4: opportunities that the show brought us and just the. We
- 39:00Speaker 4: had wanted to be in the magazine for so long,
- 39:02Speaker 4: and we got to be in the magazine like four
- 39:03Speaker 4: times after the show started. So we loved those opportunities.
- 39:06Speaker 4: So just kind of everything about life there kind of
- 39:08Speaker 4: improved after the show came along.
- 39:10Speaker 6: And then during those years, the magazines, which people still
- 39:14Speaker 6: bought magazines back then.
- 39:15Speaker 4: They certainly don't now.
- 39:17Speaker 6: Those issues were doing probably great because you guys had
- 39:20Speaker 6: the show pushing it. Okay, so it goes on. So
- 39:26Speaker 6: you're like sleeping in that big brown headboard. room yeah
- 39:31Speaker 6: was it a water bed I always imagined.
- 39:33Speaker 4: No it looks like it though doesn't it because it
- 39:35Speaker 4: looks like it yeah there would go around the water
- 39:37Speaker 4: but but it's not okay and so you're in there
- 39:40Speaker 4: every night still sleeping.
- 39:43Speaker 6: At some point, you never go, you know what? I
- 39:46Speaker 6: bet you'd sleep better if I wasn't in there. Like,
- 39:48Speaker 6: you never thought to try to get out of it
- 39:50Speaker 6: because you're no longer boned. Like, it goes years without
- 39:52Speaker 6: boning him. And he still insists that.
- 39:55Speaker 4: You, like, sleep next to him like a wife. Yeah, well,
- 39:58Speaker 4: the last time I think I asked for a room
- 40:00Speaker 4: was maybe, like, before the show started. After all those
- 40:03Speaker 4: girls moved out, I'm like, hey, there's extra rooms. Like,
- 40:05Speaker 4: maybe I could take the smallest one down the hall
- 40:07Speaker 4: just to have more room for my stuff or, like, have, like,
- 40:09Speaker 4: a moment of privacy there. And he said no. And
- 40:12Speaker 4: I was kind of conditioned not to ask for things
- 40:14Speaker 4: because he would get really angry, snap at me, just
- 40:17Speaker 4: put me in tears sometimes when we'd have some discussions.
- 40:20Speaker 4: So I wasn't really asking for a lot when I
- 40:23Speaker 4: lived there. And we mentioned the two boys.
- 40:25Speaker 6: So how old were they then, his two sons with,
- 40:28Speaker 6: what was that wife's name?
- 40:29Speaker 4: Kimberly. Kimberly. And wasn't it that Kimberly and the boys
- 40:32Speaker 4: were like living in a house next door? Okay.
- 40:35Speaker 6: And so how often would like those boys come around
- 40:37Speaker 6: and did you have any relationship with them?
- 40:39Speaker 4: No, I wouldn't say we had any relationship with them.
- 40:41Speaker 4: They were probably like 10 or 11 when we moved in.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I was going to say like 9 and 11,
- 40:45Speaker 5: something in there.
- 40:45Speaker 4: And he used to have family night on Tuesdays where
- 40:49Speaker 4: like the kids and Kimberly would come over and they'd
- 40:50Speaker 4: like watch a movie. And we just like steered clear
- 40:53Speaker 4: and we didn't really.
- 40:54Speaker 5: And sometimes the boys would come over and run around
- 40:56Speaker 5: the property and like they were like into kind of
- 40:59Speaker 5: trying to film little movies and writing little newspaper type things.
- 41:02Speaker 4: But it was rare. Like I didn't see them around
- 41:04Speaker 4: a lot.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Not all the time, but they were here and there.
- 41:07Speaker 6: And did you have any relation with Kimberly?
- 41:10Speaker 5: No.
- 41:11Speaker 4: I thought she was so intimidating. I thought she was
- 41:13Speaker 4: so scary. Yeah.
- 41:16Speaker 6: Have you ever, like, did you ever talk to her since? Like, have, like,
- 41:20Speaker 6: a gab session after? He died or after you were
- 41:23Speaker 6: broken up with him or anything?
- 41:24Speaker 4: I think it's pretty safe to say we wouldn't get along.
- 41:26Speaker 4: She led this whole thing after the A & E
- 41:28Speaker 4: documentary came out. She got all these people together to, like,
- 41:30Speaker 4: sign a petition to say that, like, Hef's a great guy.
- 41:33Speaker 4: So I don't think we'd get along. Oh, okay. I
- 41:36Speaker 4: only talked to her, like, once the whole time I
- 41:38Speaker 4: lived there. It was very early on after I moved in.
- 41:40Speaker 4: I was working out in the gym, and she was
- 41:42Speaker 4: down in the gym, and she just said, Hi, I'm Kimberly,
- 41:44Speaker 4: and that was it.
- 41:45Speaker 6: And do you think– why do you think– Like, first
- 41:50Speaker 6: of all, why do you think they got married and
- 41:51Speaker 6: then why do you think they got divorced?
- 41:53Speaker 4: Well, I think he was going through a lot in
- 41:55Speaker 4: his life. He just had a stroke. It was the 80s,
- 41:58Speaker 4: like the AIDS crisis. Nobody's, like, having casual sex anymore.
- 42:01Speaker 4: He's already old. There's no Viagra. It probably only made
- 42:05Speaker 4: sense for him. No, there's all these reasons. Like, I'm
- 42:07Speaker 4: not even making excuses. Like, there's all these reasons. Because
- 42:11Speaker 4: he would always tell me that he'd been so miserable
- 42:13Speaker 4: being married. I'm like, well, why'd you get married then?
- 42:15Speaker 4: I mean, to the.
- 42:16Speaker 6: First wife, who's the mother of, like, the.
- 42:19Speaker 4: the girl, right? No, the first wife was back in
- 42:22Speaker 4: like the 50s.
- 42:23Speaker 6: Right. Yeah, and then his second wife, he got married
- 42:25Speaker 6: in the 80s, like 89. Right, but he has one
- 42:29Speaker 6: daughter from the first wife, right?
- 42:31Speaker 4: A daughter and a son, yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 6: Okay, so then he had all those years, and then
- 42:35Speaker 6: he marries Kimberly in 89. Yeah. And they have the
- 42:38Speaker 6: two boys, and then why do you think they divorced?
- 42:42Speaker 6: Was he just still wanting to, was that when Viagra
- 42:44Speaker 6: came out, and then she didn't want to be with
- 42:46Speaker 6: a cheater?
- 42:46Speaker 4: Coincidentally, it was when Viagra came out, but I don't
- 42:48Speaker 4: think that's why I think I mean, I don't really know.
- 42:51Speaker 4: You'd have to ask her. But I think Kimberly just
- 42:52Speaker 4: wanted to, like, travel more and do more things. And
- 42:54Speaker 4: eventually there was a— from his side of the story is
- 42:57Speaker 4: there was a New Year's Eve party, and she left
- 42:59Speaker 4: and took the kids to Hawaii, which I kind of
- 43:01Speaker 4: find it hard to believe somebody would, like, do that
- 43:02Speaker 4: last minute and not just ditch somebody at a New
- 43:04Speaker 4: Year's Eve party. So I don't know what her side
- 43:06Speaker 4: of the story was. But his side of the story
- 43:08Speaker 4: was that he was, like, ditched at a New Year's
- 43:09Speaker 4: Eve party. So I don't know. Yeah.
- 43:12Speaker 6: And, okay, so then— So the show goes on and
- 43:17Speaker 6: then where, how does it come to an end? And
- 43:21Speaker 6: so like for the three of you, I know it
- 43:23Speaker 6: went on for like one more season with those two
- 43:26Speaker 6: other girls. But like you guys were on it for,
- 43:29Speaker 6: it went with you guys on it for how many years?
- 43:32Speaker 4: Five seasons. Okay.
- 43:33Speaker 6: And then how did it, and then did you all
- 43:36Speaker 6: three leave at the same time, the show?
- 43:38Speaker 4: It ended up kind of being like that. Kendra kind
- 43:40Speaker 4: of stopped participating around season four. Like if you watch
- 43:43Speaker 4: season four, she's all of a sudden not really in
- 43:45Speaker 4: it as much. Oh, okay. And wanted to go do
- 43:47Speaker 4: her own thing. Sorry. And wanted to go do her
- 43:49Speaker 4: own thing. And E decided to do a spinoff with her.
- 43:53Speaker 4: And then Bridget got a job doing a show for
- 43:55Speaker 4: Travel Channel. Oh, I remember that. Yeah, yeah. So you
- 43:58Speaker 4: were going to leave and do that, but I kind
- 43:59Speaker 4: of always felt like you would go do that. And
- 44:01Speaker 4: you know when you're filming a really obvious show, you're
- 44:03Speaker 4: really only filming like six months a year max. I
- 44:05Speaker 4: kind of felt like you, I don't know what your
- 44:07Speaker 4: plan was, but I kind of felt like you would
- 44:08Speaker 4: go do that and then come back and do Girls
- 44:10Speaker 4: Next Door.
- 44:11Speaker 5: I was thinking that too. I kind of had one
- 44:13Speaker 5: foot out the door, like I was wanting to date
- 44:15Speaker 5: and stuff. So I was sort of thinking about moving out,
- 44:18Speaker 5: but I still thought there was time and I would
- 44:20Speaker 5: go film the beaches, come back, film Girls Next Door,
- 44:24Speaker 5: go to beaches.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Yeah. And for me, you know, I had planned on staying.
- 44:29Speaker 4: I loved my job at the studio and everything. And
- 44:31Speaker 4: they had planned on Girls Next Door just continuing and
- 44:34Speaker 4: being more inclusive of, like, the playmates and the girls
- 44:37Speaker 4: at the studio, and it would be kind of more
- 44:38Speaker 4: about that. More like about the business.
- 44:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 4: Yeah. But I decided to leave because after Bridget and
- 44:44Speaker 4: Kendra left, things just got– I mean, there were other things, too. Like,
- 44:47Speaker 4: I was getting a little bit older, and I wanted
- 44:49Speaker 4: to have kids, and Bridget and Kendra left, and Hef
- 44:52Speaker 4: just got so hard to deal with that I just–
- 44:56Speaker 4: I couldn't do it. I just left suddenly. And the
- 44:58Speaker 4: producers of the show– sorry– And the producer of the
- 45:02Speaker 4: show was so mad at me because he had planned
- 45:03Speaker 4: on the show to keep going. And so he was
- 45:06Speaker 4: really angry I left, but I had to do it.
- 45:08Speaker 6: So that storyline that we would see that was like,
- 45:12Speaker 6: Holly is like, when am I getting my ring? Why
- 45:15Speaker 6: aren't I getting married? was that not true? Was that
- 45:19Speaker 6: not something you ever really wanted? Or was it something like,
- 45:21Speaker 6: I put in my years that I do want to
- 45:23Speaker 6: get married. I do want to be Mrs. Hefner.
- 45:25Speaker 4: No, I did want it. But I will say that
- 45:27Speaker 4: I played into it on the show more and they
- 45:29Speaker 4: love to repeat things. So I swear I'm not that
- 45:32Speaker 4: obnoxious in real life.
- 45:33Speaker 6: Like I'm not like.
- 45:34Speaker 4: When are we getting married? But I thought it was
- 45:37Speaker 4: kind of funny on the show to joke about it.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Like if I was throwing a baby shower and I
- 45:40Speaker 4: had a baby outfit, I was like, oh, this is cute.
- 45:43Speaker 4: I wish I could have one. Like, I said that
- 45:45Speaker 4: kind of stuff thinking it would be funny on the show,
- 45:47Speaker 4: and it was.
- 45:48Speaker 6: Right.
- 45:48Speaker 4: And it kept up with the drama, too. So it
- 45:50Speaker 4: was true, but I'm not that annoying. I swear to God.
- 45:52Speaker 6: Yeah. So when did you, like, okay, so you're doing
- 45:57Speaker 6: the travel show, and then the show ended as the
- 46:01Speaker 6: three girls.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Like, how did that happen? Because you did say, I
- 46:04Speaker 4: want to move out. I am done with you. Yeah,
- 46:06Speaker 4: I said, I'm done. I'm moving out.
- 46:08Speaker 6: And what was that day that you finally were like,
- 46:12Speaker 6: This is it.
- 46:12Speaker 5: I know what day it was. Well, I don't actually
- 46:14Speaker 5: know the date.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know what I mean? Like, what was
- 46:16Speaker 4: the moment? That, like, aha moment. This is it.
- 46:21Speaker 6: I've thought about it for a long time.
- 46:22Speaker 4: And this is it. And this is why. And I'm
- 46:24Speaker 4: not turning back. Like, what was that? It was a
- 46:26Speaker 4: lot of things leading up to it. Like I said,
- 46:27Speaker 4: with the relationship. And, like, we'd done in vitro. Oh,
- 46:30Speaker 4: you had? Yeah.
- 46:32Speaker 5: This was the real deal.
- 46:33Speaker 6: With Hef's sperm?
- 46:34Speaker 4: Yes. And it didn't work.
- 46:36Speaker 6: Yeah, was that on the show?
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:38Speaker 4: It wasn't on the show because we wanted to keep
- 46:40Speaker 4: it secret because, you know, when you're trying to get pregnant,
- 46:42Speaker 4: you don't want to, like, necessarily. I mean, some people do.
- 46:44Speaker 6: But, I mean, I feel like that now is the
- 46:45Speaker 6: storyline for every reality show is someone freezing their eggs
- 46:48Speaker 6: or going through in vitro.
- 46:49Speaker 4: But if you watch the show, there's reference to it. Like,
- 46:52Speaker 4: in season four, I'm leaving to go to Jamaica, and
- 46:55Speaker 4: I go, you know, saying, oh, if we got married,
- 46:58Speaker 4: I wouldn't go on so many trips. Not that I'm
- 47:00Speaker 4: even going on so many trips. I was going one
- 47:02Speaker 4: trip for my sister's wedding in, like, seven years of
- 47:04Speaker 4: living there.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:06Speaker 4: And then he goes, well, let's work on the baby first.
- 47:08Speaker 4: And that was while we were doing in vitro. So
- 47:10Speaker 4: he makes comments, but, like, we hadn't come out and, like,
- 47:12Speaker 4: said anything.
- 47:13Speaker 5: And not only that, but I did the egg retrieval
- 47:16Speaker 5: while we were doing it, and I wanted it to
- 47:18Speaker 5: be on the show because I thought it was really important,
- 47:19Speaker 5: especially back then. People weren't really talking about it yet.
- 47:22Speaker 4: Right.
- 47:22Speaker 5: And they refused to show it because it showed me–
- 47:25Speaker 5: thinking of a life that wasn't revolving around the mansion.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Got it yeah they wouldn't even show that I was
- 47:29Speaker 4: in real estate school because they wanted it to look
- 47:32Speaker 4: like I had no outside aspirations besides have.
- 47:35Speaker 5: Yeah we were supposed to look like we were never
- 47:37Speaker 5: going to leave there that this was our life and.
- 47:40Speaker 6: Forever yeah so with um so did you actually do
- 47:45Speaker 6: it in vitro like the the embryo winning you no
- 47:49Speaker 6: because his sperm didn't work that's what I was gonna
- 47:51Speaker 6: ask I'm like yeah So was it shocking when you
- 47:56Speaker 6: heard in the Secrets of Playboy that the one twin–
- 48:01Speaker 6: so then the twins came after you. The twins came
- 48:04Speaker 6: after that. You're featured in the Secrets of Playboy. And
- 48:07Speaker 6: one of the twins says she got pregnant by having
- 48:11Speaker 6: the regular sex with Hef and went forward with an abortion.
- 48:17Speaker 6: What is your thoughts? Did that surprise you then?
- 48:20Speaker 4: Well, I'm never going to say I don't believe anybody's
- 48:22Speaker 4: story because I wasn't there and everything can happen. But
- 48:25Speaker 4: it's surprising. Yeah.
- 48:27Speaker 6: You know, considering what I know.
- 48:28Speaker 4: It's surprising for any man that age. Yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 5: For any man that age. And then after he's already done,
- 48:34Speaker 5: tried to do the in vitro stuff.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 48:36Speaker 5: And it was unsuccessful.
- 48:38Speaker 4: But anything can happen.
- 48:39Speaker 5: But yeah, you just never know.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Like, I don't like it when people come from my
- 48:41Speaker 4: story and say, well, I was there in the 70s
- 48:43Speaker 4: and it wasn't like that.
- 48:44Speaker 3: I'm like.
- 48:45Speaker 4: You don't know. You weren't there when I was there.
- 48:47Speaker 6: I always say whenever somebody says that, I'm like, you know,
- 48:53Speaker 6: I'm sure there were a million waiters in Best Boys
- 48:55Speaker 6: that said OJ Simpson was the nicest guy in the world.
- 48:57Speaker 4: There probably still are.
- 48:59Speaker 6: Exactly. Because someone's experience doesn't mean that their experience wasn't
- 49:04Speaker 6: their experience. But just because you had a great experience
- 49:07Speaker 6: with someone doesn't mean that that person's story is not true.
- 49:10Speaker 6: And maybe, you know, and also with a situation like that,
- 49:15Speaker 6: a guy like Hef or a guy, you know, they
- 49:18Speaker 6: know who to pursue and who to just be like, hey,
- 49:22Speaker 6: hope you had a good time at the party.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Bye bye. You know, who's the vulnerable one?
- 49:27Speaker 6: Who's the one that can be manipulated, especially a guy
- 49:29Speaker 6: that's been doing it? For 80 fucking years. Like, they're
- 49:33Speaker 6: really good at it at that point.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:35Speaker 4: Of choosing who's going to be accommodating and who's not. Yeah, like,
- 49:40Speaker 4: you never saw anybody in the group when we were
- 49:42Speaker 4: there that ever had, like, any, like, wealth or career
- 49:47Speaker 4: or really anything like that. It was always girls who
- 49:48Speaker 4: were hard up.
- 49:49Speaker 6: That didn't have anything to fall back on. Right.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Yeah, that are going to put up with it because
- 49:55Speaker 4: what would they do?
- 49:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:56Speaker 4: You know? So, in doing this, were you.
- 50:00Speaker 6: Able to stop, like sock some money away. Cause you
- 50:04Speaker 6: said now they're paying you a little bit. And, um,
- 50:07Speaker 6: I know when Kendra was here, she was like, she
- 50:09Speaker 6: was able to make a little bit of money doing
- 50:11Speaker 6: like appearances and stuff. And that she was kind of
- 50:14Speaker 6: trying to say, but then they would try to take that.
- 50:17Speaker 6: Like they would, they didn't like that, that you could
- 50:19Speaker 6: like go make a, do a club appearance for five
- 50:21Speaker 6: grand or whatever. So did you guys find that to
- 50:24Speaker 6: be the case as well?
- 50:25Speaker 4: Well, I definitely did save a ton of money and
- 50:27Speaker 4: I started investing in real estate. Like I went to
- 50:29Speaker 4: school for real estate investment. So I was always watching
- 50:32Speaker 4: my back and trying to like build a future for
- 50:34Speaker 4: myself because, you know, you always kind of felt, too,
- 50:38Speaker 4: at the mansion, like the rug could be pulled out
- 50:40Speaker 4: from you at any moment. Or he could die at
- 50:42Speaker 4: any moment, you know?
- 50:43Speaker 6: Right, and if he died, it's not like you were, like,
- 50:46Speaker 6: in a will. Yeah, you weren't a wife. You didn't
- 50:49Speaker 6: have a kid with him. So, yeah, you'd just be screwed. Like,
- 50:52Speaker 6: they'd probably be, like, knocking on your door the next day.
- 50:54Speaker 2: For sure.
- 50:54Speaker 6: Pack up your little dog and, like, yeah.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:58Speaker 6: So you come back and you guys are all like, okay,
- 51:00Speaker 6: you've got your travel show.
- 51:01Speaker 4: You've got stuff cooking.
- 51:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:03Speaker 4: You're like, okay. And when you tell him, so what
- 51:05Speaker 4: was the day? Oh, the day. Okay, so it was
- 51:08Speaker 4: all this stuff leading up to it. So I was
- 51:09Speaker 4: kind of ready to go anyway. But I was in
- 51:11Speaker 4: Vegas working on a Playmate shoe and I went out
- 51:15Speaker 4: to eat with somebody whose name I'd rather not mention.
- 51:18Speaker 4: But when I was talking to this guy who I
- 51:20Speaker 4: thought was cute and realized, oh, I could have feelings
- 51:23Speaker 4: for this guy. Like nothing happened, but I realized I
- 51:25Speaker 4: could have feelings for this guy. And then Hef called
- 51:28Speaker 4: the next morning and was like, I had security following
- 51:30Speaker 4: you the whole time. You need to get back here,
- 51:32Speaker 4: you know. And I was like, I can't do this.
- 51:35Speaker 6: I can't.
- 51:37Speaker 4: Like, it's done today.
- 51:38Speaker 6: So you go to, like, a lunch. You have, like,
- 51:41Speaker 6: a little flirty lunch, but nothing happens. And you find
- 51:43Speaker 6: out later you had no idea that you were being
- 51:46Speaker 6: followed and, like, under surveillance.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Absolutely not.
- 51:49Speaker 6: That is so creepy.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so creepy.
- 51:54Speaker 6: And so how old are you at that point? I
- 51:56Speaker 6: was 29. And, um, so when you, so then you're like,
- 52:01Speaker 6: so then you, so how do you tell him I'm done?
- 52:04Speaker 4: Well, the next day I told him, you know, I
- 52:07Speaker 4: think I'm moving out. You know, I, you know, I
- 52:10Speaker 4: want to get married and have kids someday. Like that's
- 52:13Speaker 4: an easy excuse to give. It's true. And it's something
- 52:15Speaker 4: he can't do like physically. Um, And he didn't want
- 52:20Speaker 4: to let it go. He kept trying to convince me
- 52:21Speaker 4: to stay. He even did put me in his will,
- 52:24Speaker 4: left the will on my side of the bed so
- 52:26Speaker 4: I could see it. And what did it say? That
- 52:28Speaker 4: I'd get $ 3 million when he died. But, you know,
- 52:32Speaker 4: my mind was made up and I packed up my
- 52:34Speaker 4: stuff and I left.
- 52:36Speaker 5: And.
- 52:37Speaker 6: Okay, so then you go– one of the things from
- 52:42Speaker 6: the show, as I remember it, is that you guys
- 52:44Speaker 6: did have– I want to say maybe it was one episode,
- 52:46Speaker 6: but I feel like there were several episodes where you
- 52:48Speaker 6: guys did go to Vegas as a foursome. You know,
- 52:51Speaker 6: on the Playboy and go to the Playboy suite and
- 52:53Speaker 6: everything at the Palms.
- 52:55Speaker 4: But we had to fly right back and be home
- 52:56Speaker 4: by 9 o'clock. Even if he was with you or
- 52:59Speaker 4: not if he was– Oh, not if he was with us. Oh, yeah. Yeah,
- 53:01Speaker 4: he would go sometimes.
- 53:02Speaker 6: And I remember that was the first time, the 9
- 53:03Speaker 6: o'clock thing, and I just thought that was so weird.
- 53:07Speaker 6: And then, like, Kendra said that, you know, because there
- 53:10Speaker 6: was the 9 o'clock curfew, she still kind of dated,
- 53:13Speaker 6: but she'd have to, like, do it in the afternoon. Like,
- 53:16Speaker 6: you could go off and do lunch and stuff.
- 53:18Speaker 4: You could do.
- 53:19Speaker 5: Whatever you wanted during the day, but you had to
- 53:21Speaker 5: be home by 9 o'clock. And Kendra was hardly ever
- 53:23Speaker 5: around during the day.
- 53:25Speaker 6: But do you– and obviously security wasn't following you guys then. Otherwise,
- 53:30Speaker 6: who would have known?
- 53:30Speaker 4: I mean, they could have been.
- 53:31Speaker 5: But, yeah, he would have known.
- 53:33Speaker 6: They might have been.
- 53:34Speaker 4: I always felt like Hef kind of knew Kendra wasn't
- 53:36Speaker 4: going to stick around that long, though. So maybe he
- 53:38Speaker 4: did know. I think he did know. I'm pretty sure
- 53:40Speaker 4: he did know. Because of some security he did have
- 53:42Speaker 4: with her on some trips. I think he knew, but
- 53:44Speaker 4: just was like, whatever, it's working for the show.
- 53:46Speaker 6: So you get your variety show at the Planet Hollywood.
- 53:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:53Speaker 6: And they also say, we'll follow you that follow the cameras.
- 53:56Speaker 6: You have a reality show part of it, right? They
- 53:58Speaker 6: were filming it.
- 53:59Speaker 4: So I wanted to do a spinoff about my life
- 54:01Speaker 4: in Vegas and I was just shopping it around with
- 54:03Speaker 4: a manager. But then when he expressed interest because of
- 54:06Speaker 4: the contracts we had to sign before season five of
- 54:09Speaker 4: Girls Next Door, I had to do it with the
- 54:11Speaker 4: same production company that did Girls Next Door. That was
- 54:13Speaker 4: locked in according to the contract.
- 54:15Speaker 6: So I think.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Kevin, the producer, was excited about doing my show once
- 54:20Speaker 4: it started, but he hated me in between Girls Next
- 54:23Speaker 4: Door and that show. Like, he used to write open
- 54:25Speaker 4: letters to the message board, like, just making me sound
- 54:28Speaker 4: like a horrible person. From him? Yes, he signed it. Like,
- 54:31Speaker 4: I could go online and find it. Stacey put it
- 54:33Speaker 4: on her blog.
- 54:33Speaker 6: And what was he basically saying?
- 54:35Speaker 4: He was saying that I had been over Hef for
- 54:39Speaker 4: years and that I was dating this other guy behind
- 54:41Speaker 4: his back the whole time, which wasn't true, and that
- 54:44Speaker 4: I was mad because I didn't get my own spinoff,
- 54:46Speaker 4: which nobody was ever talking about. He was just trying
- 54:48Speaker 4: to make me sound like the villain, like I ruined
- 54:51Speaker 4: the show. Wow.
- 54:52Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah. So when it ended for you, then you
- 54:55Speaker 6: were doing the travel thing. And how often were you
- 54:58Speaker 6: guys all talking? At this point, was Kendra not really
- 55:01Speaker 6: close to you guys anymore? Or did you go to
- 55:04Speaker 6: her wedding?
- 55:05Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what? When we were leaving, I loved Kendra.
- 55:09Speaker 4: I thought that we had had kind of our sibling
- 55:11Speaker 4: rivalry while we were there. Right. But I felt like
- 55:13Speaker 4: after she was with Hank, she just seemed like so
- 55:18Speaker 4: much more mature and so happy. And I feel like
- 55:21Speaker 4: we were all three just so happy for each other
- 55:24Speaker 4: and the direction our lives were going. Like we all
- 55:26Speaker 4: got together to do commentary for seasons four and five
- 55:29Speaker 4: of Girls Next Door after we moved out. And you
- 55:31Speaker 4: can even hear in the commentary, like we're just getting along.
- 55:34Speaker 4: We're all happy for each other. Yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:37Speaker 4: So that was then. And we were in the wedding.
- 55:40Speaker 6: You were in the wedding.
- 55:41Speaker 5: We were in the wedding. We stayed in contact. I
- 55:43Speaker 5: threw her baby shower.
- 55:46Speaker 6: And so what happened then? Was it that when you
- 55:49Speaker 6: wrote your book, Down the Rabbit Hole, and you became
- 55:52Speaker 6: pretty frank about things? Is that when she kind of
- 55:54Speaker 6: was like, I disagree and cooled on hanging out?
- 55:59Speaker 4: No, it was before then because I was doing my spinoff.
- 56:01Speaker 4: She was doing her spinoff. We have Kevin, the producer,
- 56:04Speaker 4: doing both. But was her spinoff, was Ani too? Yeah,
- 56:08Speaker 4: it was Ani. Okay. So he's doing the spinoffs. And then,
- 56:12Speaker 4: and I write, I go into more detail about her
- 56:15Speaker 4: in my book. But things got weird with me and Kendra.
- 56:17Speaker 4: And I felt like he was encouraging that. Like he
- 56:20Speaker 4: wanted us fighting. He wanted drama.
- 56:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:23Speaker 4: He wanted me to come on her show and like
- 56:24Speaker 4: brag about how much money I was making in Vegas.
- 56:26Speaker 4: So she'd get a little poke in the ass to
- 56:28Speaker 4: do take more jobs to make her show more interesting.
- 56:31Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 56:31Speaker 4: That's what he told me. And things got weird between us.
- 56:35Speaker 4: And it got to the point eventually where I had
- 56:37Speaker 4: a falling out with that producer. I was on the
- 56:38Speaker 4: phone screaming with him and he admitted to me that he.
- 56:41Speaker 4: Wanted us to not get along because he thought it
- 56:43Speaker 4: would be good publicity. Right. And I'm like, I don't
- 56:45Speaker 4: want any part of that bullshit. You know, I'm pregnant.
- 56:49Speaker 4: I don't want to be stressed out. I don't want
- 56:50Speaker 4: to be fighting with people and looking like shit and
- 56:52Speaker 4: tabloids for publicity that benefits your dumb show.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Like, bye.
- 56:55Speaker 4: Yeah. And so by the time I wrote this, I
- 56:59Speaker 4: was mad.
- 56:59Speaker 6: I was mad at him. I was mad at Kendra.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 57:03Speaker 6: Okay, so then the next book came out, The Vegas Diaries,
- 57:10Speaker 6: and in this, where are you in your life talking
- 57:12Speaker 6: about what's going on here at this point?
- 57:15Speaker 4: Oh, I was talking about my life in Vegas and
- 57:17Speaker 4: just lessons I learned dating, but I don't drop names
- 57:20Speaker 4: or anything like that. Yeah, and at this point you're
- 57:23Speaker 4: married when you write the second book. I was married
- 57:25Speaker 4: when I wrote the first one, and my husband was
- 57:26Speaker 4: always super supportive of me telling the truth about my experience.
- 57:30Speaker 6: So then when did you guys– now, what's your situation?
- 57:35Speaker 4: Are you single?
- 57:36Speaker 6: What's happening, Bridget?
- 57:37Speaker 5: No, I met somebody almost right away. I actually met
- 57:40Speaker 5: him at the mansion, and we've been dating ever since.
- 57:43Speaker 5: We've been together for 14 years.
- 57:44Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 57:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:45Speaker 4: So you're like a Goldie Hawn and– Like, do you
- 57:49Speaker 4: think you'll ever get married?
- 57:50Speaker 6: Or that, why get married?
- 57:51Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no.
- 57:52Speaker 5: Yeah, we're going to. We've been engaged. There's, like, a
- 57:55Speaker 5: lot of reasons why we haven't done it yet. But, yeah,
- 57:58Speaker 5: we plan to, for sure.
- 58:00Speaker 6: But you don't have kids? No.
- 58:02Speaker 4: And so, and you guys live here in L.A.? Mm-hmm. Okay, perfect.
- 58:06Speaker 6: What did you think of the Secrets of Playboy?
- 58:08Speaker 4: Because you were not a part of it, right?
- 58:10Speaker 5: I did do one day of interviewing. They put almost
- 58:13Speaker 5: nothing that I... That I said in there, my experience
- 58:18Speaker 5: and looking back on my experiences with Hef and the
- 58:21Speaker 5: mansion are pretty positive. I would say 98% of it
- 58:25Speaker 5: is positive. There were a few stories that I had
- 58:27Speaker 5: of things that I didn't think were quite right or whatever.
- 58:29Speaker 5: And those are the only stories that they used and
- 58:32Speaker 5: they used them to pretty much like kind of back
- 58:34Speaker 5: up what I was saying, back up Holly's stories.
- 58:37Speaker 6: Which was what?
- 58:37Speaker 4: Barely in it.
- 58:38Speaker 6: Basically what?
- 58:39Speaker 5: I didn't watch it, so I didn't see which ones
- 58:41Speaker 5: they chose.
- 58:41Speaker 4: I didn't even watch my episode. They did 12 episodes.
- 58:44Speaker 4: I watched all of them except episode two just because
- 58:46Speaker 4: I don't want to watch myself talk about my trauma again.
- 58:49Speaker 4: I can't take it. But every other episode I watched,
- 58:52Speaker 4: and it came out over the course of 12 weeks,
- 58:54Speaker 4: I had nightmares after I watched them. It's intense.
- 58:57Speaker 3: You know what?
- 58:57Speaker 6: I feel like I did too.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 58:59Speaker 6: It's not like I was ever there.
- 59:00Speaker 4: Because being that it was once a week and it's like,
- 59:04Speaker 4: It drags on the suspense.
- 59:06Speaker 5: You can't binge it.
- 59:06Speaker 6: It's interesting because there's all these documentaries.
- 59:09Speaker 4: I was joking the other day. other day on my show.
- 59:12Speaker 6: I'm like, isn't it weird that we grew up never
- 59:14Speaker 6: watching a documentary and now that's all anybody talks about
- 59:18Speaker 6: or watches?
- 59:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:19Speaker 6: And so it's, like, when you watch, like, a documentary that's, like,
- 59:21Speaker 6: a three-part or four-part and you watch it all in
- 59:23Speaker 6: one night and it's disturbing, you're, like, whew. Like, you
- 59:26Speaker 6: have one bad and then you forget it. But this was, like,
- 59:29Speaker 6: every week. And then they even are, like.
- 59:31Speaker 5: Adding stuff.
- 59:31Speaker 6: Yeah, now we have another one.
- 59:33Speaker 4: People came forward.
- 59:34Speaker 2: And, like.
- 59:36Speaker 4: And it was just, like... Dramatic. It was really dramatic.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Even for people that, like, have nothing to do with it.
- 59:42Speaker 5: I didn't watch it, but I still... got messages about
- 59:46Speaker 5: it and people I knew were watching it and telling
- 59:48Speaker 5: me things. And then there'd be like little snippets on
- 59:50Speaker 5: like news outlets. And I'm just like, Oh, I don't
- 59:52Speaker 5: want to know this stuff.
- 59:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:56Speaker 6: And so what about when, what did you think when
- 59:59Speaker 6: he married his last wife, Crystal?
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: I mean, there's so many things to think. There was
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: the whole runaway bride debacle.
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: Right. So what happened? They were engaged, but then she bailed.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Bailed. And then they got married.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: Wasn't it like the night before the wedding or something?
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: Something crazy like that.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: Or something like right before. And it was a lifetime special.
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: So it bailed on the whole TV show and everything.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Oh, it was going to be. I thought you were
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: just going to say it's like a Lifetime movie.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: No.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: It really was going to be a filmed Lifetime special.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: And she really just left the day before. And then
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: this is like vaguely coming back to me. And then
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: what happened? And how later did she come back then?
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: I think maybe a year or two. I'm not really
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: sure on the timeline.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: Oh, I thought it was quicker than that, but I
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: don't remember either.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: And then.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: So she was with him all the way until the end,
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: until he passed. And then she did a tweet that
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: went quite public because she tweeted to you about the
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: fact that it got revealed in the Secrets of Playboy
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: that there were video cameras in the room. And so
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: there were all this footage. I hope there weren't video
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: cameras in the room. Maybe not video cameras.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Photos.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: Photos.
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: There were photos of all you guys. And then she said,
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: I did find all the photos. And I threw them out.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Thank God.
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: And, and that was also kind of nice.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Because she did.
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: Otherwise she didn't participate in this.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: And, um, which I can understand why, like, well, it's scary.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Like I didn't even want to do it. Like I
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: admire the director's work and we'd had some amazing, really
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: long conversations about it. But for the longest time, I
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: didn't want to do it. Cause I'm like, I already
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: wrote my book. I said what I need to say,
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: sitting down and doing like a day. I mean, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: did two interviews with them and one of them lasted
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: all day. And I just don't want to sit and
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: talk about my trauma again. Like I did not want
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: to do it. Eventually I finally decided to do it
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: just because I knew so many other women were coming
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: forward and I know what it feels like to come
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: forward and not have anybody have your back. So I
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: wanted to be supportive of that. But, but even after
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: that I was scared cause I'm like, how are they
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: going to edit me? Are they going to make me
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: sound like I said something I didn't say? So it was,
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: it was scary. Like I had very mixed feelings going
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: into it. And, um, Yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: I mean, I think she's like living a great life now.
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: And I mean, she seems happy with some cute young guy.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: I went on Instagram. I'm like, wow, that's a switch.
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: Let's talk about the girls next level and like what
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: you've recorded and what you've like. Just talk about it,
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: like what you think, because I think it is such
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: a cool reflection, really.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Well, it started out with Holly doing YouTube videos.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I had people request on my YouTube channel, like,
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: react to an episode of Girls Next Door. So I
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: did a couple. The first three were hard to watch.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: And you know now, going back and watching them, it's
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: really emotional. Like, I feel like we were done so
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: dirty in those first couple of episodes. How is it,
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: tell me, Bridget, like, how is it when you look
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: at it? Like, what? Because you just went, like.
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: You just like had a visceral reaction.
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: Because Holly warned me that the first three episodes were
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: really hard to watch. And when she said that, I
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: thought she just meant like kind of just getting used
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: to watching them again. And once you get past like
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: three episodes, you're good. I didn't realize until I just
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: watched them. I just watched them not last night but
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: the night before. And I'm still traumatized. I'm sick to
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: my stomach.
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: Why?
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: I can't sleep. I've been crying.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: What makes you sick to your stomach?
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: The way we were portrayed. And how were.
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: You portrayed that wasn't real for you?
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: For me?
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: How do you feel that you were portrayed and it's
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: upsetting you because that wasn't your authentic self?
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: If you want, I could jump in with one thing
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: you did in that episode if it's easier. That I
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: think is messed up. They make it look like Bridget is, like,
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: plying all the new playmates with drinks to, like, mess
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: them up for their shoot the next day because she's jealous.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Which isn't what she said at all, but they cut
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: and paste it so it looks like she's literally trying to, like,
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: shove shots in everybody's face because she wants to sabotage.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: And I think that's messed up and... Borderline illegal.
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: And what I was talking about in that.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: Yeah, and if it's not true, that's just shitty.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's absolutely not true. And I don't plan
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: the going out schedule or how much girls drink or what.
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: I have no control over that stuff. But what it
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: boils down to is that I had wanted Playmate so bad,
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: like way long before I'd even been to the mansion.
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: I tested before I even lived at the mansion. And
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: I was talking about my insecurities with that and how
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: jealous that I was when I see all these girls
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: coming and going and getting it and making Playmate of
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: the year and all this stuff. And it's really, really
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: hard to watch. And so I can't help but be
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: critical sometimes of them, like, oh, she kind of has
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: a bad boob job, or maybe her hair, you know, whatever.
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: And they just took that and made it look like
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: I was ridiculing everybody that came, that I was just
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: this jealous bitch, that I was getting people drunk and
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: sabotaging their pictorials. And even little things, too. There was
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: tiny things that at first, when I was first watching it,
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: I was like, oh, they're just trying to be funny
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: in the edit, but... Like, I would joke with somebody.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: A girl came in wearing a similar dress to me,
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: and I was like, she's like, oh, I hope you
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: don't mind. And I say, no, I totally mind. Take
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: it off. And then I laugh, and we're just joking
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: because we're really great friends. But they take out the
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: laugh and that I'm just joking, and it shows me saying, no,
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: I want you to take it off. And just leaving
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: it at that. And just like, and at first I thought,
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: it's just a reality show, so I'm not going to like,
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: you know what I mean? Like, they do stuff like that.
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: But then when you start seeing it consistently to her
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: and I.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: And only us. They never did that to Kendra. Ever.
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: So we are immediately, immediately in episode one being made
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: out to be the bitches.
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: Right. That is true. And maybe that was the half
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: character thing. When he said, I have your characters planned.
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: Do you recall what? he wanted your characters to be.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: I don't think that part came from him. I think
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: that came from the executive producer. And that's confusing too,
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: because we went on to feel like we had a
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: close friendship with Kevin. And now as we get older
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: and look back and see what he did, it's really,
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: it's a bad feeling. But, um, Hef wanted me to
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: be completely devoted to him. He was like, you're the
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: one who cares about me. Bridget's the one who wants
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: a career and Kendra's the one who wants to have fun.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: Like that was his idea of what our characters were.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: But I think it was more the producer who wanted
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: the drama and wanted us to look mean and, you know,
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: didn't care.
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: So Holly, I haven't watched all the episodes. She has
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: because she's been doing the YouTube videos, but I've only
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: watched up to episode three right now. And I am traumatized.
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, when I did those first reaction videos,
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: I was telling the viewers, I'm like, I don't know
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: if I'm going to continue these because they're not great
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: for my mental health. Like, I just come off watching, like,
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: The Secrets of Playboy, and then I'm watching this, and
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't have the bandwidth for this.
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: That's what I told Holly. I said, I don't know
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: if I can keep watching these. I'm literally sick over this.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: And she was like, no, it gets better, I swear.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: And I was like, I think I need to go
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: to bed. And so I, like, went to bed early.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: I thought maybe if I just sleep on it in
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: the morning, I'll feel better about it. I woke up
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: the next morning. I was– yesterday– sick to my stomach.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: Do you have dreams?
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: I couldn't sleep.
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: Do you have dreams? Are you a dreamer that has
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: vivid dreams?
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: I rarely remember my dreams.
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: Very rarely. Do you have vivid dreams?
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: I do. I had a nightmare. I was back at
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: the mansion every single night after Secrets of Playboy.
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: Sometimes when I either read something or something's on my mind,
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: I have very vivid dreams where I can remember the
- 1:07:20Speaker 6: next day and I'm like, Oh, my God. Like, bitch,
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: get out of my dream. Like, why did you come back? Like,
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: what the fuck? Like, I haven't thought about you in, like,
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: three years. Like, what the hell? But something will happen,
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: and that person's there, and it's, like, very strange how
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: that works.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: I was just like, I don't know if I can
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: do this. And she's like, I swear it gets better.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: So I'm hoping. I'm hoping it gets better from here.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: It'll probably be a good, like, therapeutic end-in-the-end therapy. kind
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: of fun hopefully oh no I think it will especially
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: us being able to talk together and being able to
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: be so candid on a podcast like you can't say
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: anything really on YouTube without getting flagged so that's what
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: inspired me to do the podcast is there's so much
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: more I wanted to say that you can never say
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: on YouTube without getting your channel shut down so yeah.
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: Yeah so she called me one day and she was
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: like you know I've been doing these on the YouTube
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: but there's so much more I want to say would
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: you ever be willing to like do a podcast about
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: it and I was like And like I said, my
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: whole experience looking back on it is like 95%, 98%, whatever, positive.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: I don't have ill feelings to Kendra or Hef or
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: Kevin or anybody. And so I was like, yeah, I
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: totally would do it.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: And sometimes time, you know, it's like time heals all wounds.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: Sometimes it is the time. Like sometimes it does take
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: a long time to get over something, especially when it's
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: a relationship and work. And in the big, you know,
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: public eye. It's like a threefold, you know. When you
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: guys were, like, at the mansion doing stuff, would any, like,
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: of these old crony friends of his, would they ever, like,
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: hit on you or be like, can you bring a
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: girl for me or anything?
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: They definitely knew not to come anywhere near any of Hef's.
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: Girls there was like a golden rule they were barely
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: allowed to talk to.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: Us and what did you think of that part in
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: the in it um In the Secrets of... It's just, like,
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: coming to me. I know, there's so much.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: Where the, like, the doctor, that you said you met
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: the doctor. The doctor, and there was, like, I want
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: to say I saw it on there, like, that the
- 1:09:23Speaker 6: daughter thought maybe they had a romantic relationship, Hef and
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: the doctor. Like, there was things that came in later that, like,
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: I remember hearing, like, that he, when he was having sex,
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: had male porn on TV. And that kind of thing,
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: which kind of came out later. What did you think
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: of all those stories?
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: Well, I think maybe they were both in the same
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: orgy in the 70s or something like that. But when
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: I was with Hef, I always really liked his doctor.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: And I never sensed, like they were close friends, but
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: I never sensed anything like romantic or sexual between them.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: And I always felt like the doctor was super supportive
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: of my and Hef's relationship too.
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: Yeah. But also like things change over the decades. Like
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: things might have been completely different in the 70s than
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: they were in the 2000s. So I don't know what
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: went on back then.
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: Right. They might have had some special bond.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: Yeah. Maybe they grew out of it and the relationship evolved.
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Or maybe it was one of those things that because
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: he saw himself as such like a sexual revolution maybe
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: he tried it.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: He definitely tried it. Like he's admitted to that.
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: He's tried gay sex.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: Yeah. Nothing wrong with that. Yeah.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: You know, but that was I don't know about him
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: and his doctor.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: But it's crazy because if you like Google or like
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: I Googled something about it and then an article came
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: up that was like the love of Hef's life and
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: it showed a picture of the doctor. And I'm like,
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: he would turn in his grave. It was just so weird. Right.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:52Speaker 6: Well, tell everybody where they can follow you guys and
- 1:10:55Speaker 6: listen to the show and all of that.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: You can find Girls Next Level anywhere you find podcasts.
