- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:14Speaker 1: of Long Story Short the podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and today is our preview special of Hallmarks Count Down
- 0:23Speaker 1: to Christmas series of movies. It is October first today
- 0:28Speaker 1: as this episode is dropping, so of course it's time
- 0:31Speaker 1: to talk Christmas.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I feel like this is a bonus bonus episode, totally
- 0:35Speaker 2: bonus bonus.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I mean, who would have thought that.
- 0:40Speaker 2: We would be previewing Christmas movies this time last year?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Like this Girl's Gotten Hamewark wasn't even a thought in
- 0:50Speaker 2: my brain.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And there anybody who doesn't know This Girl's Gone Homework
- 0:55Speaker 1: was Wendy's brainchild. Wendy had never watched a Hallmark Christmas
- 0:59Speaker 1: movie to last season, and she said, hey, let's recap them.
- 1:04Speaker 1: And that has turned into a thing that we've done
- 1:06Speaker 1: for the entire year, and that has really resonated with
- 1:09Speaker 1: our audience. The one thing we don't know is we
- 1:13Speaker 1: don't know if people who listen to our regular episodes
- 1:15Speaker 1: are also listening to Hallmark or if those two entirely
- 1:18Speaker 1: different audiences. So if you want to shoot us email
- 1:22Speaker 1: and let us know which of the two types of
- 1:23Speaker 1: episodes you like and listen to. You can always do
- 1:26Speaker 1: that at Megan and Wendy at gmail dot com.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I also want to know if listeners of the Hallmark
- 1:32Speaker 2: episodes want us to continue this in twenty twenty two, Like,
- 1:39Speaker 2: do you love these episodes so much that you want
- 1:41Speaker 2: to hear more next year?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah? Would you be sad if they went away?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:47Speaker 1: Let us know because that's the possibility. Just thrown it
- 1:51Speaker 1: out there. So for Hallmark twenty twenty one, Hallmark has
- 1:54Speaker 1: said they will have forty one new Christmas movies.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Wow, that's bananas to me. What was it last year?
- 2:03Speaker 1: I don't know, thirty something, But there are some things
- 2:05Speaker 1: that may throw a wrench into those plants.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Okay, I'm listening.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Before I get to that, I want to say, if
- 2:13Speaker 1: you don't know how to watch Hallmark Christmas movies, Wendy,
- 2:16Speaker 1: you watch on cable on the Hallmark channel. I do, yes,
- 2:20Speaker 1: My cable provider does not have Hallmarks, so I watch
- 2:24Speaker 1: on the friendly app frn dly. I really like that
- 2:29Speaker 1: app because not only does it have live and on
- 2:33Speaker 1: demand programming, but you can record movies, which then you
- 2:36Speaker 1: can fast forward through the commercials and my favorite thing
- 2:39Speaker 1: is I can open up the guide and if I
- 2:41Speaker 1: have forgotten to record a movie that played in the
- 2:42Speaker 1: last seventy two hours, I can tap back in the
- 2:45Speaker 1: guide hit record. It's immediately recorded and available for me
- 2:49Speaker 1: to watch. So I love that it has more channels
- 2:53Speaker 1: other than the two Hallmark channels available, but I typically
- 2:56Speaker 1: only watch the Hallmark channels. So if you are looking
- 2:59Speaker 1: for a way to watch Hallmark, the Hallmark Movies Now
- 3:02Speaker 1: app is not it That is not going to have
- 3:06Speaker 1: the new Hallmark movie releases, with the exception of I
- 3:09Speaker 1: Believe one. So don't buy access to that app unless
- 3:16Speaker 1: you want older movies, because you're not going to get
- 3:18Speaker 1: the new and the best.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Okay, I have a question. You said the Friendly app
- 3:22Speaker 2: has two of the Hallmark channels. It has the Mystery
- 3:25Speaker 2: channel too.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Uh huh oh.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And I think aren't some of the new movies going
- 3:30Speaker 2: to be on that channel too? Yes?
- 3:32Speaker 1: They always are, and I will be honest that I
- 3:34Speaker 1: typically don't watch those simply because I do not have
- 3:38Speaker 1: all the time in the world. Friendly has the Weather Channel, UpTV, Pixel, Hallmark,
- 3:43Speaker 1: Hallmark Movies, and Mystery Hallmark Drama. Get TV byu TV
- 3:48Speaker 1: Game Show Network, The Outdoor Channel, Baby First QBC. So
- 3:55Speaker 1: they've got quite a few.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Let me talk about the Hallmark app for just a second.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I know you always like bag on it that they
- 4:02Speaker 2: have just like standard you know photos in there, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 2: Canva Photostock photos. This is the first time I'm really
- 4:11Speaker 2: looking at it, and I'm looking at all the movies
- 4:13Speaker 2: from Countdown to Christmas. Some of these don't even have titles.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Movie number ten, movie number eleven, movie number twelve, movie
- 4:20Speaker 2: number thirteen. Oh my god, I mean, way to put
- 4:24Speaker 2: the cart in front of the horse here.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So funny. Wendy's talking about the Countdown to Christmas Hallmark app.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And if you want to keep track of the movies
- 4:33Speaker 1: that are coming and when they are airing, that's a
- 4:34Speaker 1: great way to do it. And it will also show
- 4:36Speaker 1: all many of their past Countdown to Christmas movies, so
- 4:39Speaker 1: if you want to know when those are airing, if
- 4:41Speaker 1: you want, you can create a checklist of movies to watch.
- 4:44Speaker 1: But like Wendy said, if you look at Countdown to
- 4:46Speaker 1: Christmas twenty twenty one, only the first nine movies have names,
- 4:51Speaker 1: only three have photos. So Hallmark is notorious for creating
- 5:00Speaker 1: these movies right down to the wire. Some of these
- 5:03Speaker 1: movies have not been filmed yet, haven't even started production.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Those that have been filmed, they have not all been
- 5:09Speaker 1: fully edited to their completion. And I said, we may
- 5:14Speaker 1: have trouble getting to forty one. And the reason is IATZE,
- 5:17Speaker 1: which is the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I believe it is one hundred and fifty thousand people
- 5:24Speaker 1: that are IATZE members are dangerously close to striking. These
- 5:29Speaker 1: are the USIATZE members. The Canadian IATCY members are currently
- 5:32Speaker 1: under contract. Depending on what you read, a strike is
- 5:36Speaker 1: either likely or possible. So could that affect Hallmark? The
- 5:41Speaker 1: answer is maybe.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I wonder if they would be like, I mean, because
- 5:46Speaker 2: it with this big old press release out that they're
- 5:48Speaker 2: gonna have all these movies and blah blah blah blah
- 5:50Speaker 2: that I haven't even been filmed yet, would they just
- 5:53Speaker 2: fully etcro and be like, well, because of circumstances, we
- 5:59Speaker 2: only have nine four or whatever I think.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well, I will say far more than nine are filmed.
- 6:05Speaker 1: The majority of them have been filmed. There are still
- 6:08Speaker 1: several that have not, but many have been filmed, so
- 6:11Speaker 1: it would be more than nine. But could that slow
- 6:14Speaker 1: down editing, sound mixing, all of that. All of this
- 6:19Speaker 1: to say, I don't know the hallwork would say anything
- 6:20Speaker 1: because Hallmark changes their schedule. Hallmark removes movies from the
- 6:24Speaker 1: schedule completely. We know that we had a movie last
- 6:27Speaker 1: year that was part of the previous year's lineup that
- 6:29Speaker 1: just disappeared. We know that the lineup changes. So currently
- 6:35Speaker 1: the plan is for Hallmark to release a new movie Friday, Saturday,
- 6:38Speaker 1: and Sunday for ten weeks. We don't know if that
- 6:40Speaker 1: will stay the same. We don't know are they going
- 6:44Speaker 1: to perform well on Fridays typically They did Saturday and
- 6:46Speaker 1: Sunday last year, and then they had a full week
- 6:48Speaker 1: of movies the week of Thanksgiving, new movies every single night.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Maybe they'll change their minds this year. We don't know.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I would not consider anything they have put out to
- 6:57Speaker 1: be set in stone at this point.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, because honestly they could. If these movies are
- 7:02Speaker 2: filmed but not edited, they could just keep them until
- 7:04Speaker 2: next year.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Right absolutely? Yeah?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Wow, crazy. I'm I'm interested to see how this unfolds.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I would like to make one more comment, and I
- 7:14Speaker 1: promise we're gonna talk about the movies. But does the
- 7:16Speaker 1: acronym GHAK mean anything GAC Yeah, No, how about Bill Abbott? No, okay,
- 7:23Speaker 1: So Bill Abbot is the former CEO of the Hallmark
- 7:25Speaker 1: Channel and he stepped down Slash was asked to leave
- 7:30Speaker 1: at the beginning of twenty twenty. There were commercials featuring
- 7:36Speaker 1: same sex couples and at the pressure of some groups,
- 7:40Speaker 1: he had them removed and there was huge backlash that
- 7:45Speaker 1: those commercials were removed, and he is no longer with
- 7:49Speaker 1: the Hallmark Channel. He is now running It used to
- 7:52Speaker 1: be called Great American Country is now called GAC Family,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and they are all about cell American culture, lifestyle, and heritage.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And although I can't find anything that directly says this,
- 8:07Speaker 1: the feeling they talk about family friendly programming till they're
- 8:11Speaker 1: blue in the face, and that the feeling is that
- 8:13Speaker 1: family friendly translates to heterosexual couples only. There will be
- 8:17Speaker 1: no LGBTQ content on GHAK Family. The big news in
- 8:24Speaker 1: the GHAK world. And I only say this because obviously
- 8:27Speaker 1: he was related to Hallmark and this news is also
- 8:30Speaker 1: a Hallmark adjacent is that When Hope Calls, which is
- 8:35Speaker 1: a spinoff for When Calls, the Heart program that was
- 8:38Speaker 1: on Hallmark, will be going to GAC family and it
- 8:41Speaker 1: will be starring Lori Laughlin. True. So there was a
- 8:46Speaker 1: snarky tweet saying, apparently ex felon means family friendly, so
- 8:51Speaker 1: you can have gone to prison, but you cannot be
- 8:53Speaker 1: gay to fall under their family friendly umbrella. So, honestly,
- 8:57Speaker 1: quite frankly, good riddence, Bill Abbott. I don't think Hallmark
- 9:02Speaker 1: is one hundred percent had it in the right direction
- 9:04Speaker 1: this year, and we'll talk about that, but I do
- 9:06Speaker 1: think they are taking the tiniest of baby steps.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I have a note about gak TV, so I did
- 9:12Speaker 2: not know anything about this. I don't know what gak
- 9:15Speaker 2: TV is whatever until you just told me, and I
- 9:17Speaker 2: was like, huh, that's interesting. That sounds familiar. I follow
- 9:21Speaker 2: Jenny Garth on Instagram because I'm a nine o two
- 9:24Speaker 2: one o homer, and she's been filming a Christmas movie
- 9:28Speaker 2: which I was hoping was for Hallmark Channel. So I
- 9:31Speaker 2: just went back to look at it and she tags
- 9:33Speaker 2: GAK TV and I was like, m wham, won't be
- 9:38Speaker 2: watching that.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, that's unfortunate. Wow, come on, Jenny, I know,
- 9:44Speaker 1: but I wonder.
- 9:48Speaker 2: How the actors feel about that, Like, are you gonna
- 9:51Speaker 2: I as an actor. Hypothetically, if I was an actor
- 9:55Speaker 2: and they're like, oh, we have this movie for GAC
- 10:00Speaker 2: do you want to do it, and knowing like their
- 10:02Speaker 2: stance on it, I would have to like back out
- 10:05Speaker 2: of it.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Like I agree with you, but also I'm not depending anybody.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Is it possible that movies get started before they have
- 10:13Speaker 1: a home, because I know, like one of the Lifetime
- 10:15Speaker 1: movies this year was purchased from another channel, like it
- 10:18Speaker 1: already aired somewhere on Canadian television last year, and it
- 10:21Speaker 1: was purchased for a Lifetime, So I don't have any
- 10:24Speaker 1: idea of the timeline of what Jenny Garth knew. But
- 10:26Speaker 1: I agree with you. I were I an in demand actress,
- 10:30Speaker 1: would not be going to GAG TV for their Christmas movies.
- 10:34Speaker 1: But I don't know how much they know at the time.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Oh one wait, wait, wait, one last note and then
- 10:39Speaker 2: we will definitely definitely get into the Hallmark preview.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I also saw the press release for Lifetime Christmas Movies. Yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 2: And I gotta say, there's a lot of movies over
- 10:50Speaker 2: there that I want to watch, starring a lot of
- 10:54Speaker 2: actors who have been in Hallmark movies who are like
- 11:00Speaker 2: actors I want to see on my TV. So I
- 11:04Speaker 2: think I'm going to be splitting time between Homework and
- 11:07Speaker 2: Lifetime this Christmas.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Lifetime has a lesbian Christmas movie, yes, Christmas Tree.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yes, Home just works their LGBTQ storylines like in with
- 11:18Speaker 2: other side stories.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Don't let them be the lead. So yeah, there are
- 11:22Speaker 1: a lot of I agree. Child Michael Murray, who you love,
- 11:24Speaker 1: is doing Hallmark this year. Yes, Raba McIntyre is doing
- 11:28Speaker 1: Lifetime this year. Yeah. Oh did I say Hallmark Chad?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Michael Murray, Chad, I just have Lifetime.
- 11:33Speaker 2: But so you know, who's the Cindy Busbies in that
- 11:37Speaker 2: movie with him? Yeah?
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I know.
- 11:40Speaker 1: So now as we move forward, we are going to
- 11:42Speaker 1: discuss Hallmark movies. There are so many made for TV
- 11:46Speaker 1: Christmas movies coming out. Most platforms will have their own.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Hallmark and Lifetime are the two big ones. They are
- 11:52Speaker 1: going to have the big lineups. But I can guarantee
- 11:55Speaker 1: you Netflix will have their own, Hulu did their own
- 11:58Speaker 1: last year. All of the services. Paramount is probably likely
- 12:02Speaker 1: to have their own. They did last year. It's starring
- 12:04Speaker 1: Wan Pablo de Pays last year, so they're gonna be everywhere.
- 12:10Speaker 1: We will not watch every single one, but in our
- 12:13Speaker 1: house we watch a lot of made for TV Christmas
- 12:16Speaker 1: movies and with that, let us hop in. Okay, So
- 12:21Speaker 1: the countdown to Christmas kicks off Friday October second with You,
- 12:25Speaker 1: Me and the Christmas Trees. No Friday, October twenty second,
- 12:28Speaker 1: correct October twenty second. Normally the first movie out is
- 12:33Speaker 1: kind of like a tester. Last year was jingle Bell Bride,
- 12:36Speaker 1: not a great movie. This year is very interesting to
- 12:40Speaker 1: me because it starts danaka mckeller, a Hallmarks sweetheart. So
- 12:43Speaker 1: it's maybe they are reversing their strategy. They want to
- 12:47Speaker 1: come out of the Gate strong this year, just like
- 12:50Speaker 1: Paul Harvest came out of the Gate strong with Tyler Ryanes. Yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: it stars Benjamin Airs, but it also starts Jason Hurr,
- 13:00Speaker 1: who was her Wonder Year's co star.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that's real cute. Now are they supposed
- 13:05Speaker 2: to be a couple or she's coupled up with the
- 13:07Speaker 2: other dude?
- 13:08Speaker 1: Correct? Benjamin Eyers I believe is her love interest. Do
- 13:12Speaker 1: you know what I'm most excited about about this movie?
- 13:14Speaker 1: Tell me that it was written by our pale Julie
- 13:18Speaker 1: Sherman Wolf.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Look, this is one hundred percent the reason why I
- 13:22Speaker 2: will be tuning into this movie because I love Julie
- 13:25Speaker 2: Sherman Wolf. We interviewed her here on the podcast. I
- 13:29Speaker 2: will drop a link to that in our show notes.
- 13:31Speaker 2: But I love the way she writes. She writes for
- 13:35Speaker 2: me like I get her jokes. I love it. So
- 13:38Speaker 2: I am definitely definitely watching this one.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And this movie is set in the town of Avon, Connecticut.
- 13:46Speaker 1: The first movie of January, which was Taking a Shot
- 13:51Speaker 1: at Love. You see why I want to call Taking
- 13:54Speaker 1: the Reins Taking the Reins of Love Taking a Shot
- 13:56Speaker 1: at Love, also was set and filmed in that town.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Julie Shermanwolf lives in Connecticut herself. This is the town
- 14:04Speaker 1: that made Wendy think, Hey, I'm gonna move to a
- 14:06Speaker 1: small town and we're gonna run a coffee cart. Yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 14:13Speaker 1: So this story is Olivia is Connecticut's resident expert on evergreens, who,
- 14:17Speaker 1: just days before the holiday, agrees to help Jack, a
- 14:20Speaker 1: fourth generation Christmas tree farmer in Avon. A mysterious illness
- 14:24Speaker 1: has befallen their furs, causing them to die out and
- 14:27Speaker 1: threatening his family's one hundred year old business hold On,
- 14:30Speaker 1: Wait for the Wait for the pun. As Olivia tries
- 14:33Speaker 1: to get to the root of the problem and extends
- 14:35Speaker 1: her stay in town, she and Jack spend more time
- 14:38Speaker 1: together and feelings begin to develop. I love a Christmas
- 14:41Speaker 1: tree farm Christmas movie. I'm excited for this. I know
- 14:45Speaker 1: the answer to this. But is this a skip or
- 14:48Speaker 1: is this a watch?
- 14:49Speaker 2: Oh? This is a watch for me, Watch for me.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I love the idea of a Christmas tree farm too.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I think mysterious illnesses with trees is fair believable. Yeah,
- 15:02Speaker 2: I'm super into it. I don't I can't tell you
- 15:04Speaker 2: that I've ever seen Danica mcckellor in any other homework movie.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I know she's been in a ton I don't really
- 15:13Speaker 2: know her as an actress other than The Wonder Years,
- 15:17Speaker 2: so I don't know about casting so much. But I
- 15:21Speaker 2: am excited about the story and the setting.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Same same yay. Next the next night, Boyfriends of Christmas Past,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and the stars are Katherine Hayni, Kim Raymond a Black,
- 15:36Speaker 1: and Paul sun hung Lee Raymond a Black. Did you
- 15:40Speaker 1: look at the photos?
- 15:42Speaker 2: No, I don't recognize any of these names.
- 15:45Speaker 1: He was in Ginny and Georgia and he played the
- 15:47Speaker 1: restaurant owner. Oh.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I really liked him in Ginny and Georgia.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Me too. I am so excited. First of all, let
- 15:56Speaker 1: me just say thank you for this diverse cast. We
- 15:59Speaker 1: have three three non white stars of this film. The
- 16:03Speaker 1: synopsis is very brief. Leading up to Christmas, marketing executive
- 16:07Speaker 1: Lauren is visited by the ghosts of four ex boyfriends.
- 16:10Speaker 1: She must learn to open up her heart or risk
- 16:13Speaker 1: losing her best friend, Nate. I'm excited for this movie
- 16:16Speaker 1: has kind of like a Christmas Carol feel like he
- 16:19Speaker 1: ghosts of boyfriend's past. Uh, this is a watch for me.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, this is definitely a watch for me. I love
- 16:27Speaker 2: Christmas Carol themed movies. I liked there was one last year, Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 2: the Nashville one, Yes, which I loved, So I like that.
- 16:37Speaker 2: And I like of boyfriend's past. That's kind of fun.
- 16:40Speaker 2: So I am definitely definitely looking forward to this one.
- 16:43Speaker 2: This will be a watch for me.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And next The Santa Steakout starring Tamara Mawe Housley, Paul Campbell,
- 16:50Speaker 1: and Joe Pantaliano Joey Pants.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I don't know why when I saw that he was
- 16:57Speaker 2: in this movie. I immediately said, of Joey Pants, and
- 17:00Speaker 2: I don't know why he has that nickname, but I
- 17:03Speaker 2: don't I know that wasn't he in the Sopranos.
- 17:07Speaker 1: No idea he was in the matrix is what's listed here,
- 17:09Speaker 1: But it's possible.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Well, I just I have a feeling like Howard Stearn
- 17:13Speaker 2: calls some jowey pants. Anyway, whatever, he's a good actor.
- 17:17Speaker 2: He's one of those actors that you recognize his face,
- 17:21Speaker 2: but he don't know what exactly like his name is
- 17:25Speaker 2: or what he's been in, you know.
- 17:27Speaker 1: So this is so fun to me. Tanya is a
- 17:29Speaker 1: police detective who is reluctantly partnered with fellow detective Ryan
- 17:34Speaker 1: to solve a recent string of heists taking place during
- 17:36Speaker 1: high profile holiday parties. They go undercover as newlyweds moving
- 17:40Speaker 1: into the vacant house next to mister Miller, the jovial
- 17:43Speaker 1: chair of the community's Christmas committee and the prime suspect
- 17:46Speaker 1: in the case. As Tanya and Ryan partake in the
- 17:48Speaker 1: neighborhood's holiday happenings to keep up appearances and crack the case,
- 17:51Speaker 1: they get swept up in Christmas before they know it.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Their cover story is a couple in love starts to
- 17:56Speaker 1: become reality. This is fun to me. I feel like
- 18:01Speaker 1: it's a little bit different than some of the things
- 18:02Speaker 1: we've seen. I love Tamara. Fun fact, Tia is in
- 18:07Speaker 1: Miracle and MotorCity on Lifetime this year, so both sisters
- 18:10Speaker 1: have a Christmas movie. I'm excited for this. This is
- 18:14Speaker 1: a watch for me.
- 18:15Speaker 2: This is definitely a watch for me as well. I
- 18:18Speaker 2: love the like mysterious take on it that there's undercover
- 18:22Speaker 2: couple and also in one of the cast pictures that
- 18:26Speaker 2: I see in the background, they have like a full
- 18:29Speaker 2: wall of pictures and like strings attached to like pictures,
- 18:33Speaker 2: you know, like a diagram, Like yeah, like a missing
- 18:36Speaker 2: person's type, Like, yes, you know, I'm into it.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I'm fully into it.
- 18:40Speaker 2: This is gonna be a weekend full of Christmas movies
- 18:43Speaker 2: for me.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Yes, these are all watches for me.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Jumping to the following weekend, we have Christmas in Harmony.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Stars Ashley Murray from Riverdale, Luke James, Loretta Devine, Michelle Williams, Yes,
- 18:56Speaker 1: Destiny's Child Michelle Williams, and Basil Wallace. The synopsis is
- 19:00Speaker 1: very short. Harmony is tricked into auditioning for the Holiday
- 19:03Speaker 1: Chorus directed by an ex boyfriend. By Christmas Eve, they
- 19:07Speaker 1: could be harmonizing in the key of love. This gets
- 19:11Speaker 1: the Cheesiest Synopsis Award for me again love a diverse cast,
- 19:16Speaker 1: the short synopsis makes me worried. It's not always the
- 19:21Speaker 1: kiss of death, but sometimes it means we don't have
- 19:23Speaker 1: enough content to keep things moving and interesting. However, we
- 19:28Speaker 1: do have a deep list of stars. We don't just
- 19:31Speaker 1: have the two love interests. So sometimes that can keep
- 19:35Speaker 1: things moving with side things going on. Sometimes that means
- 19:40Speaker 1: there's too much going on. Yeah, and look, I'm glad
- 19:43Speaker 1: we have Michelle Williams who can actually sing. However, my
- 19:47Speaker 1: feeling is that singing competition movies can go south quickly.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Is that what your impression is of it, that it's
- 19:56Speaker 2: a singing competition movie?
- 19:59Speaker 1: Not you're right, not necessarily just you know, the holiday chorus,
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't know, like we have the Nashville Christmas Carol,
- 20:06Speaker 1: but the actual stage portions of that movie were terrible
- 20:11Speaker 1: if you recall. Sometimes the production value misses something for me.
- 20:15Speaker 2: But for some reason I had read this as like
- 20:18Speaker 2: a chorus in a church, like.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I think you're right. I don't think it's
- 20:24Speaker 1: a competition. I'm just saying I think there's some sort
- 20:27Speaker 1: of holiday coorse. I do think it's some.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Sort of performance, But we'll see. How do you feel
- 20:33Speaker 2: about Is this a watch for you? Or is this
- 20:34Speaker 2: is a real maybe for me? Em this is like,
- 20:38Speaker 2: let me turn it on and see it and if
- 20:41Speaker 2: it is not what I want then.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Okay, guys, I gotta tell you this next
- 20:48Speaker 1: movie Saturday, October thirtieth, Coyote Creek Christmas. The synopsis is
- 20:54Speaker 1: a Christmas around the world party helps two people find
- 20:57Speaker 1: love at home.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know what that means, but I know
- 21:00Speaker 2: who the cast is in this, and that alone makes
- 21:03Speaker 2: me want to watch it.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Yeh. Stars Janelle Parrish, who was in Right in front
- 21:07Speaker 1: of Me another Julie Sherman Wolfe movie, and Ryan Pavey,
- 21:11Speaker 1: most recently from a little daytime drama. Although that was
- 21:13Speaker 1: not his strongest showing. I think he did a great job.
- 21:16Speaker 1: That was not a great movie in my opinion. You
- 21:20Speaker 1: love Ryan Pavie, I do. I like both of these actors,
- 21:25Speaker 1: and so I again the one sentence synopsis, how are
- 21:29Speaker 1: we going to make a movie out of a Christmas
- 21:32Speaker 1: around the World party. Is this Does this entire movie
- 21:35Speaker 1: take place during the party? That could be kind of fun.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Is it planning for the party? Are we going to
- 21:42Speaker 1: get two in the weeds with the details. I love
- 21:44Speaker 1: the idea of a Christmas around the World party. Honestly,
- 21:47Speaker 1: if I think about I think homemark, you could have
- 21:49Speaker 1: gone one step further and made it Holidays around the world,
- 21:52Speaker 1: just saying, not that Christmas isn't celebrated around the world,
- 21:57Speaker 1: but I think that's fun. But show me your little
- 21:59Speaker 1: Dutch us and the holiday food traditions around the world.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I went to. It was either a wedding or an
- 22:06Speaker 1: engagement party where the couple had met, like on an
- 22:09Speaker 1: around the world cruise. Yeah, like it didn't actually happen,
- 22:12Speaker 1: but I think it did. And they had food stations
- 22:15Speaker 1: from all the places that they had been. That was
- 22:18Speaker 1: really cool. So I'm kind of getting those vibes. But
- 22:22Speaker 1: I wrote skip what.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I'm not gonna skip a Ryan Page movie.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I know. I'm sure we'll be recapping this side note.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Our current plan is to recap one movie a week.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Popular demand will determine if that number increases. Yes, so
- 22:39Speaker 1: let us know what you think, guys and maybe we'll
- 22:42Speaker 1: let the people vote.
- 22:44Speaker 2: I love that idea on Instagrastagram.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Yes, all right, Sunday, October thirty, first Halloween. Okay, okay,
- 22:54Speaker 1: this movie is called Christmas Sale and this is like
- 22:56Speaker 1: the nerd bait movie of the season. It starts Katie
- 23:01Speaker 1: Sakoff from The Mandalorian, but she was also in Battlestar Galactica,
- 23:04Speaker 1: which many people have strong positive feelings about. Patrick Sebang
- 23:10Speaker 1: Oh lord, I'm so sorry, Sabogi or sebog Way. I
- 23:14Speaker 1: will look that up. From Firefly Lane. That's not a
- 23:17Speaker 1: nerd movie. That's just a Netflix adaptation of a book
- 23:22Speaker 1: by Kristin Hannah and Terry O'Quinn from Lost. Katie Sakoff
- 23:26Speaker 1: has a strong cult following. People love her. Our friend Sheila,
- 23:30Speaker 1: who listens to this podcast but does not watch Hallmark movies,
- 23:35Speaker 1: sent us a message upon seeing the announcement that she
- 23:37Speaker 1: would be in a movie and said, this will be
- 23:39Speaker 1: my first Hallmark movie.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I have no idea who this actress is.
- 23:43Speaker 1: If you look her up, she might be familiar to you,
- 23:45Speaker 1: but again, she kind of has like a face that's
- 23:48Speaker 1: very specific to these shows. You never watched Battlescuard Galactica, did.
- 23:52Speaker 2: You No, No No.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So that's not what this movie's about. It's when Liz
- 23:57Speaker 1: returns home to take care of her estranged fathers. She
- 24:00Speaker 1: is determined to give her daughter a perfect Christmas and
- 24:02Speaker 1: reconnects with her best friend. What are your feelings about
- 24:06Speaker 1: a sailing?
- 24:07Speaker 2: I don't hate it, But where are they? Where does
- 24:10Speaker 2: this take place at? Though?
- 24:12Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Would it be on the West coast because you know.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Well there's lots of you know, Vancouver's coastal, so I know,
- 24:23Speaker 1: but I'm talking like on the East coast.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Okay, if it takes place on the East coast, how
- 24:30Speaker 2: are you sailing at Christmas time?
- 24:32Speaker 1: It's freezing cold?
- 24:33Speaker 2: Mm hmm. You could do it on the West coast?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Like could this be like a California movie takes place
- 24:40Speaker 2: in California?
- 24:41Speaker 1: My concern is that we may get green screenshots if
- 24:46Speaker 1: they're on the water.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I'm very curious to see how the sailing is done.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I like the idea of sailing in the movie, depending
- 24:54Speaker 1: on how well it's done, like put them actually in
- 24:56Speaker 1: the water. Do they have the budget and the ability
- 24:59Speaker 1: for that? I don't know, but I do feel like
- 25:02Speaker 1: this is a great pull of non Hallmark movie actors
- 25:07Speaker 1: to try and bring in a new audience. Yeah, this
- 25:10Speaker 1: is a watch for me. Is it a watch for you?
- 25:12Speaker 2: It's no, not really.
- 25:14Speaker 1: So I worry about this one because it is on Halloween.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I worry that they buried this movie. That said, I
- 25:20Speaker 1: don't watch any of these movies live for the most part,
- 25:23Speaker 1: so you know what, the time that it's on doesn't
- 25:28Speaker 1: really bother me personally.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I record them all me neither me neither. This isn't
- 25:33Speaker 2: a real maybe not for me?
- 25:36Speaker 1: Okay. Jumping ahead to the final weekend that we have
- 25:38Speaker 1: specific dates for, we have November fifth, open by Christmas,
- 25:42Speaker 1: starring Alison Sweeney, Sammy from Days of Our Lives, Erica
- 25:46Speaker 1: Durance from Smallville, and Brennan Elliott from Christmas in Vienna.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I only know Allison Sweeney.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I don't know ye else. She's another Hallmark darling. She's
- 25:57Speaker 1: in Countdown to Christmas every year. There when Nikki finds
- 26:01Speaker 1: an unopen Christmas card from a high school secret admirer,
- 26:03Speaker 1: she and her best friend Simone search to find and
- 26:06Speaker 1: thank the anonymous author. Guys, I like this premise. I'm intrigued.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm intrigued. This is a watch for me simply because
- 26:13Speaker 1: you know it's Alison Sweeney. You may or may not
- 26:15Speaker 1: know this. My husband is a huge Days of Our
- 26:17Speaker 1: Lives fan. A very good friend of mine has worked
- 26:20Speaker 1: for Days of Our Lives for the past twenty years.
- 26:22Speaker 1: It was my high school soap. But my husband still watches.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Fun fact, they have brought back the Marlena is Possessed
- 26:28Speaker 1: storyline of twenty years ago. And you know, I like Sammy.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I like Alison Sweeney. I'm into this premise of this movie.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Does she still play Sammy on Days of Our Lives?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Ocasia? Oh really?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Oh wow?
- 26:41Speaker 1: She kind of comes and goes. But I do believe
- 26:43Speaker 1: she's currently on the show. And what I like is
- 26:47Speaker 1: that we're not seeing. We're not seeing so much in
- 26:51Speaker 1: the synopsis, which doesn't mean they're not in the movie.
- 26:54Speaker 1: We're not seeing a lot of goes back to her
- 26:58Speaker 1: hometown and gets like sucked in. Now, that doesn't mean
- 27:02Speaker 1: that's not happening this she's high school secret admirer, but
- 27:06Speaker 1: that happens a lot. Like goes back to her hometown
- 27:08Speaker 1: and then stays forever because she realizes small town life
- 27:10Speaker 1: is for her. I feel like we wishful thinking. I
- 27:13Speaker 1: think we might hopefully, maybe we're turning a page Hallmark,
- 27:17Speaker 1: We'll see. Do you care that I'm just reading all
- 27:20Speaker 1: of these Nope, Okay, I am so excited for this
- 27:24Speaker 1: next movie. So excited. Saturday, November six, Next Stop Christmas
- 27:30Speaker 1: stars Lindsay Fonseka Fine Chandler Massey, also from Days of
- 27:35Speaker 1: Our Lives, Leah Thompson and Christopher Lloyd.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Is this back to the future?
- 27:41Speaker 1: It is a time travel movie. Angie wonders what her
- 27:44Speaker 1: life would be like if she had married a former
- 27:46Speaker 1: boyfriend who became a famous sportscaster. She takes a train
- 27:50Speaker 1: home to spend Christmas with her family and inexplicably finds
- 27:52Speaker 1: herself ten years in the past. With the advice of
- 27:55Speaker 1: the train's enigmatic conductor played by Christopher Lloyd, Angie he
- 28:00Speaker 1: has the choice chance to revisit that Christmas and learn
- 28:03Speaker 1: what and who is truly important to her. Hello, Leeann
- 28:07Speaker 1: Thompson and Christopher Lloyd. If they could get a Michael J.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Fox cameo, I would love that, but I understand that
- 28:12Speaker 1: he's not into that anymore.
- 28:15Speaker 2: He's not into what cameos are acting.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Acting.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Oh really, has he been hired fully, I.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Don't Maybe he does cameos, but I'm guessing a Hallmark
- 28:24Speaker 1: could not afford him.
- 28:26Speaker 2: H huh.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm so excited about this. Back to the Future is
- 28:29Speaker 1: one of my husband's favorite movies. He watches all through
- 28:32Speaker 1: movies every October. I can't wait. I'm really excited for this.
- 28:36Speaker 1: So are we going to.
- 28:37Speaker 2: See Christopher Lloyd as like crazy Doc mcstefan's or whatever
- 28:42Speaker 2: his name, what's.
- 28:44Speaker 1: His name down? Doc Brown? Are we gonna see him as.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Why did I just have the Has your husband ever
- 28:53Speaker 2: been Doc Brown for Halloween?
- 28:55Speaker 1: No? Is that like a perfect Halloween costume for him?
- 29:00Speaker 1: I should tell him, I'll tell you.
- 29:01Speaker 2: The other thing is like, are we gonna are we
- 29:04Speaker 2: gonna hear like lines from Back to the Future?
- 29:07Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 29:08Speaker 2: Like, I don't know, you know, because but even like
- 29:14Speaker 2: Next Stop Christmas is almost feels like a line from
- 29:20Speaker 2: Back to the Future, like Next Stop.
- 29:22Speaker 1: The Future sieteen fifty five. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right, I'm
- 29:25Speaker 1: into it. I hope, So, I hope, So, I hope
- 29:27Speaker 1: they lean in hard, Like look, I'm telling you right now,
- 29:32Speaker 1: we got to recap this movie, and I'm hoping. Look,
- 29:37Speaker 1: Candice Cammon Barret's movie last year her. Yeah, that movie. Yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 1: not a great movie.
- 29:44Speaker 2: What Yeah, it was so good. One of the fun
- 29:48Speaker 2: things about it. We're all the Wizard of Oz Easter eggs,
- 29:51Speaker 2: and so I'm hoping this has that feel because I
- 29:55Speaker 2: want to go into it like I want to Okay
- 29:57Speaker 2: for those all right, all right, all right. The final
- 30:00Speaker 2: movie with a release date Sunday, November seventh, The Christmas
- 30:05Speaker 2: Treasure starring Jordan Sparks Michael Xavier. And oh that's it,
- 30:10Speaker 2: Jordan Sparks, Michael Xavier. Okay, I know who Jordan Sparks is.
- 30:14Speaker 2: American IDOL alumni.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Michael Xavier was on Christmas Comes twice. And Beware
- 30:20Speaker 1: of the Midwife. The synopsis is make excuse Me. After
- 30:26Speaker 1: opening a one hundred year old time capsule and meeting
- 30:31Speaker 1: a charming chef, Lou questions whether or not she should
- 30:35Speaker 1: move to New York after Christmas and further her writing career.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I would like to say this. There have been a
- 30:43Speaker 1: series of Christmas and Evergreen movies, and one of the
- 30:46Speaker 1: Christmas and Evergreen movies featured this hidden time capsule slash
- 30:51Speaker 1: advent calendar that they happen to find behind it all. Yeah,
- 30:55Speaker 1: I remember, and I would. My note for this movie is,
- 30:59Speaker 1: please make Time Capsule more believable than the pristine, hidden
- 31:03Speaker 1: sixty year old advent calendar in Evergreen that we are
- 31:06Speaker 1: supposed to believe was just built behind this wall and
- 31:10Speaker 1: nobody knew it was there and is in perfect condition.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Make me believe it, right. I absolutely agree with you,
- 31:18Speaker 1: I have. I have no thoughts on Jordan's sparks. I mean,
- 31:21Speaker 1: she's an American idol alum. Is she going to sing?
- 31:25Speaker 1: I don't think they like to. They like to have
- 31:27Speaker 1: these American idol alums sing. Although Kelly Pickler was in
- 31:29Speaker 1: a number of Hallmark movies and they usually have her sing.
- 31:33Speaker 1: So the Jordan Sparks I think actually has talent. So
- 31:36Speaker 1: is this a watch or a skip for you?
- 31:38Speaker 2: This is a skip for me.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Charming Chef, I don't know.
- 31:46Speaker 2: We'll see I mean it's a Sunday night movie, like
- 31:51Speaker 2: uh huh. I will perhaps throw it on, but yeah,
- 31:54Speaker 2: or watch it later. I mean I will definitely record it.
- 31:57Speaker 2: But if I turn it on and I'm like no,
- 31:59Speaker 2: I'm out or fits not on one of the ones
- 32:02Speaker 2: that we are officially going to review.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I hear you.
- 32:05Speaker 2: This synopsis doesn't really do it for me.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Yeah. So beyond that, we have several movies that Hallmark
- 32:13Speaker 1: has announced. We know of other movies that they haven't
- 32:16Speaker 1: specifically announced, but they don't have release dates. The first
- 32:20Speaker 1: is Christmas at Castle Heart, which is in Ireland and
- 32:25Speaker 1: actually filmed on location. Stalls Lacey stars Lacey Shaper and
- 32:29Speaker 1: Stuart Townsend.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Stuart Townsend, Why do I know that name?
- 32:35Speaker 1: He was in Salem. Have you seen Salem?
- 32:38Speaker 2: No?
- 32:38Speaker 1: Brook Bennett goes to Ireland for Christmas to search for
- 32:40Speaker 1: Irish roots. While there, she meets Aiden Hart, Earl of Glaslow.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Mistaken for an elite event planner, she's hired to host
- 32:47Speaker 1: his castle's epic Christmas party. I am just hoping we
- 32:50Speaker 1: get lots of authentic Irish accents, you know. I am
- 32:53Speaker 1: here for any movie filmed in Ireland. I love it.
- 32:56Speaker 1: We loved as luck would have it this year, although
- 32:59Speaker 1: that had an incredible cast. I'm excited for this movie.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Well, Stewart Stuart Townsend is Irish. He is from Ireland.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Excellent.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Now I know the name is because he was with
- 33:09Speaker 2: Charlie Stern.
- 33:10Speaker 1: For a little while.
- 33:11Speaker 2: They were Okay, a couple for several years. Okay, yeah,
- 33:15Speaker 2: this is a yes for me.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Likely we have Queen of Christmas Candace Cameron Beret starring
- 33:20Speaker 1: with Fuller House co star John Brotherton.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Don't know who that is?
- 33:26Speaker 1: He played the vet, the other vet. Oh he was
- 33:29Speaker 1: super cute. Yeah yeah, And the Christmas Contest ex says
- 33:34Speaker 1: Lara and Ben compete in a Christmas contest to win
- 33:38Speaker 1: money for the charity of their choosing. The city watches
- 33:40Speaker 1: them battle and choose what is more important, victory or love.
- 33:44Speaker 1: This is a watch because cand Is Cameron Beret and
- 33:46Speaker 1: John Brotherton have that good like, joking antagonistic chemistry from
- 33:53Speaker 1: Fuller House, and if they bring it to this movie.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I don't always love like the ex's battling storyline, but
- 33:59Speaker 1: I think the too could make it work.
- 34:01Speaker 2: I will definitely watch that just because of Candace Cameron
- 34:04Speaker 2: for sure. I mean, she makes a pretty good Christmas movie.
- 34:09Speaker 1: So agree this next movie, I exclaimed out loud with
- 34:14Speaker 1: four people working in my house as I was reading
- 34:17Speaker 1: this press release. I am so excited to announce that
- 34:20Speaker 1: we are getting the Christmas House to deck those halls.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Did you watch the original Christmas House?
- 34:26Speaker 2: I did not, but I will watch it on a
- 34:29Speaker 2: repeat because I'm super excited about this.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So this stars Robert Buckley, Anna I or Jonathan Bennett,
- 34:39Speaker 1: who's my favorite, Sharon Lawrence, Treat Williams, and Brad Harder.
- 34:46Speaker 1: So the synopsis is the Mitchell brothers compete to see
- 34:49Speaker 1: who can create the best Christmas house. I have totally
- 34:52Speaker 1: forgotten the premise of the previous movie, but my understanding
- 34:56Speaker 1: their parents had this like Christmas house that everybody would
- 34:59Speaker 1: like walk through every year, and I believe they were
- 35:01Speaker 1: selling it. But what was nice is there were like
- 35:04Speaker 1: three couples in the movie, and they each had their
- 35:07Speaker 1: own storyline, and one of the couples is a gay
- 35:11Speaker 1: couple and they are about to adopt, and so I
- 35:14Speaker 1: hope we see that baby in this movie. I loved
- 35:17Speaker 1: this cast. It was a fun movie and I'm glad
- 35:20Speaker 1: to see them coming back. I'm excited.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited for that one too.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Here's what I'm not excited about, Oh right, The Nine
- 35:30Speaker 1: Kittens of Christmas.
- 35:32Speaker 2: The title alone is a big fat no for me.
- 35:35Speaker 1: This is a sequel. It's a sequel to the Nine
- 35:40Speaker 1: Lives of Christmas, which I watch to God. This is
- 35:44Speaker 1: a skip for me. I'm sorry cat Lover, Zachary and
- 35:47Speaker 1: Merrily are thrown back together at Christmas when they're task
- 35:50Speaker 1: with finding homes for a litter of adorable kittens. I'm sorry, no,
- 35:54Speaker 1: thank you. It feels like a joke to me. It
- 35:56Speaker 1: feels like what SNL would tie Christmas movie. I agree,
- 36:05Speaker 1: Oh my god. But if it was puppies, I might
- 36:07Speaker 1: watch it. I mean, I'm sure there's a puppy movie.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I like cats. This is the first one was fine.
- 36:14Speaker 1: It doesn't need to be a sequel. Wow. We also
- 36:17Speaker 1: have Sister Swap a Hometown Holiday and Sister Swap Christmas
- 36:23Speaker 1: in the City. Is that two movies? And on movies
- 36:28Speaker 1: starring actual real life sisters Kimberly Williams Paisley and Ashley Williams.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Ashley Williams your recall from Never Kiss a Man on
- 36:36Speaker 1: a Christmasweater, which was not good. These are two movies.
- 36:41Speaker 1: They are interconnected. They are basically it's a crossover movie.
- 36:46Speaker 1: It says that they will share some scenes, there will
- 36:50Speaker 1: be scenes from different perspectives. What I can't figure out
- 36:54Speaker 1: and if anybody knows the answer to this, I think
- 36:58Speaker 1: these are both on the Hallmark Channel and not one
- 37:02Speaker 1: on movies and mysteries. But I don't know that is
- 37:05Speaker 1: my understanding. I am a little nervous.
- 37:09Speaker 2: It sounds complicated.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I'm less worried about it being they said the movies
- 37:15Speaker 1: will stand alone. You do not need to watch one
- 37:17Speaker 1: to understand the other. Great, Okay, here's my concern. Earlier
- 37:22Speaker 1: this year or the end of last year, I read
- 37:25Speaker 1: the novel Midnight Sun. Midnight Sun is the first Twilight
- 37:31Speaker 1: novel told from Edward's perspective. Now I read all four
- 37:36Speaker 1: Twilight novels. I enjoyed the novel I enjoyed them. They
- 37:39Speaker 1: were a fun read for me. I'm not telling you
- 37:41Speaker 1: they're the greatest books ever written. I enjoyed them. I
- 37:43Speaker 1: watched all the movies. I was excited for this book
- 37:46Speaker 1: to come out, and for the first fifty or so pages,
- 37:49Speaker 1: it was kind of nice to be back into that world.
- 37:52Speaker 1: But what I didn't need was a page by page
- 37:55Speaker 1: read telling of the book from another character's perspective. I
- 37:58Speaker 1: didn't need four hundred pages of that. It got old
- 38:01Speaker 1: very fast, and I worry. I hope that they don't
- 38:06Speaker 1: overlap these too much. I hope they're not like, oh,
- 38:09Speaker 1: we're gonna just because sometimes Hallmark movies don't have enough
- 38:13Speaker 1: content to be one movie right, much less too right. Yeah,
- 38:19Speaker 1: so that's my concern with this movie. I love Kimberly Williams, Paisley,
- 38:24Speaker 1: I like Ashley Williams, but never kiss a man on
- 38:27Speaker 1: a Christmas. Weater was such a stinker that I'm going in.
- 38:32Speaker 1: And that's not her fault. It was a poorly written movie.
- 38:35Speaker 1: It was a rushed movie. It was thrown together. It
- 38:38Speaker 1: didn't make a lot of sense. There were a lot
- 38:39Speaker 1: of holes. So I hope this is being talked about
- 38:43Speaker 1: so much, and I hope they do her right. I
- 38:48Speaker 1: am cautiously optimistic about these two movies. Okay, Okay, So
- 38:53Speaker 1: that brings us to a close of everything that Hallmark
- 38:56Speaker 1: has officially announced. However, we know there's a lot more coming.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I just ran down stairus. I'm out of breath, guys,
- 39:01Speaker 1: I'm sorry. We know we're getting a Tyler Hines movie
- 39:04Speaker 1: called An Unexpected Christmas.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I was gonna say, where's the Tyler Hines movie? But
- 39:08Speaker 2: if I'm glad that there's one on the schedule.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah, We're getting a movie starring Pat Monaghan train called
- 39:15Speaker 1: Christmas in Tahoe.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Oh my god, I hope he sings.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I love him, me too. Okay, We're getting another Nikki
- 39:22Speaker 1: Diloch movie called Christmas for Keeps.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, We're getting a Terry Hatcher movie from Superman. Yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 2: from Deessford Housewife, but yes, yeah, same throwing it way back.
- 39:36Speaker 2: I was gonna say, that's a real deep cut on
- 39:39Speaker 2: a Hallmark Movies and mysteries. We are getting a Holly
- 39:42Speaker 2: Robinson Pete movie called Christmas Bond, which has an autism
- 39:47Speaker 2: storyline and features an actor with autism. This is near
- 39:49Speaker 2: and dear to her heart because she has a son
- 39:51Speaker 2: with autism. So I like we've talked a lot about diversity,
- 39:56Speaker 2: how it's not just like different skin tone, and I
- 39:59Speaker 2: like that we have neurodiversity coming to Hallmark. Yes, me too,
- 40:04Speaker 2: Me too.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Do you have a movie that you are most excited.
- 40:07Speaker 2: About most excited about? No? I feel very level across
- 40:15Speaker 2: the board.
- 40:16Speaker 1: So, okay, is there anything that you haven't seen announce
- 40:21Speaker 1: that you're hoping for?
- 40:24Speaker 2: M Well, is there a Christmas in Evergreen movie this year?
- 40:28Speaker 1: I have not seen anything, And honestly, I'm relieved because
- 40:32Speaker 1: I think they were reaching real deep and the fourth
- 40:35Speaker 1: one was not good.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Yeah, last year's was terrible. So I don't know.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I just I want.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Something that's just entertaining and in the season of Christmas
- 40:44Speaker 2: and is not hokey, has good music, a little bit
- 40:48Speaker 2: of chemistry, you know.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with all of that. I hope we
- 40:53Speaker 1: see a lot of our favorites come back. I'm excited
- 40:56Speaker 1: for some of the newcomers, especially these newcomers that have
- 40:59Speaker 1: a new audio says that they're bringing over. I hope
- 41:01Speaker 1: they bring new life to the movies. I'm excited to
- 41:03Speaker 1: see the rest of the lineup. So you know, we'll
- 41:05Speaker 1: be here every week again. If you want more than
- 41:08Speaker 1: one recap from us, let us know Megan and Wendy
- 41:12Speaker 1: at gmail dot com and we'll be back next week.
- 41:15Speaker 1: We're still in Fall Harvest. We're talking Love Strikes twice.
- 41:18Speaker 1: We've got three more Fall Harvest movies coming at you
- 41:23Speaker 1: this year, so stick around. Have a great weekend, everybody.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Goodbye bye.
