- 0:50Speaker 1: We're just happy to you on the show man.
- 0:51Speaker 5: I'm happy to be here. Yeah, Jesus already got straight
- 0:55Speaker 5: to it.
- 0:55Speaker 6: We got straight toward your herd. We love I love it.
- 1:00Speaker 6: Brooklyn's in the building. The new album is out. Yes,
- 1:03Speaker 6: then his daughters finally out. The person weren't being so far.
- 1:09Speaker 6: I'm getting a hang of it, like yeah, like it's
- 1:11Speaker 6: I actually enjoy it because now I have a body
- 1:14Speaker 6: of work to actually really talk about. So it feels
- 1:16Speaker 6: good and it's my story.
- 1:18Speaker 5: It ain't nothing made up.
- 1:19Speaker 6: So so what was it like? You know, growing up
- 1:21Speaker 6: as Dennis's starter, growing up only child, father saw I
- 1:25Speaker 6: am mom's side single. My mom was a single parent,
- 1:29Speaker 6: raised me by herself. I tapped him with my father
- 1:31Speaker 6: here and there, like he you know, he had just
- 1:32Speaker 6: picked me up from school.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Here and there.
- 1:34Speaker 6: I go by my grandmom's house and see dad or whatever.
- 1:37Speaker 6: But he was a hustler turned into an attic. So
- 1:43Speaker 6: that's just what I've been dealing with, trying to bond
- 1:45Speaker 6: with him. So yeah, I heard a lot of that
- 1:48Speaker 6: in the Dear Dennis song. It was like it was
- 1:50Speaker 6: really a song for him to him, Okay, to him. Uh,
- 1:55Speaker 6: that's really how I bond with him, Like I'm still
- 1:57Speaker 6: bonding him even though he's deceased. So I just wanted
- 2:00Speaker 6: to show the world like it's other ways of grieving,
- 2:02Speaker 6: Like you could speak out loud and you can still
- 2:04Speaker 6: feel their presence and that's how you like try to
- 2:07Speaker 6: get some type of closure. That was a hard song
- 2:09Speaker 6: for me to listen to. I'm sorry, guys, that was
- 2:10Speaker 6: a hard song. I just lost my mom, so you know,
- 2:13Speaker 6: and you know, when you like, you know, just to
- 2:15Speaker 6: come back, you know, and see him in the dreams.
- 2:17Speaker 6: That's like yeah it, yeah you. I'll be waking up
- 2:22Speaker 6: some days like nah, you tripping. I don't like you.
- 2:26Speaker 6: I don't even remember my dream tonight. You could have
- 2:28Speaker 6: came and it's filled in the void or something. It
- 2:31Speaker 6: be real, though, I can be real because when you
- 2:34Speaker 6: do get to see them in your dreams, that's the
- 2:37Speaker 6: closest you feel to them, So you you get spoiled
- 2:40Speaker 6: and you look forward to it all the time. But
- 2:42Speaker 6: they gonna come whenever they ready.
- 2:43Speaker 4: So when the rap start coming, were you rapping in school?
- 2:46Speaker 6: Or rapping came about because I used to always write
- 2:49Speaker 6: in my journals and diaries.
- 2:51Speaker 5: That's how I got off with my.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Emotions more poetic.
- 2:55Speaker 6: Turn it turned into poetry, but that didn't last too
- 2:59Speaker 6: long because I needed more of a feeling, like you know,
- 3:03Speaker 6: and sometimes I don't like to reflect on my emotions
- 3:06Speaker 6: and be sad. I like to reflect on my emotions
- 3:09Speaker 6: and like grow from it and understand myself more. So
- 3:12Speaker 6: I was like I could put this on a beat.
- 3:14Speaker 6: And then you started rapping with your cousins.
- 3:16Speaker 5: I started wrapping my cousin shout out to Jah.
- 3:18Speaker 6: Yeah, we started wrapping in a house just a Dusktop
- 3:23Speaker 6: didn't have much. It was going on YouTube to learn.
- 3:26Speaker 6: He was learning how to do the mixing engineering stuff.
- 3:28Speaker 6: I just wanted to rap. Yeah, so shout out to
- 3:31Speaker 6: him because he did the hard part. Hey, shout out
- 3:33Speaker 6: to your engineer whoever be engineering your stuff now, because
- 3:35Speaker 6: you sound big on the record, you like the Boogeyman.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Like from your record.
- 3:42Speaker 3: It was like five eleven when I first heard your
- 3:47Speaker 3: first record.
- 3:47Speaker 6: When people first hear you so tall, So it wasn't
- 3:53Speaker 6: it wasn't a video or photo that was that made
- 3:55Speaker 6: you say and you may have to be in person.
- 3:57Speaker 6: We are like, nah, this is.
- 3:59Speaker 1: What think is. When we saw you in La at
- 4:01Speaker 1: the BT.
- 4:03Speaker 6: Performance, we saw you and the way your energy came out.
- 4:08Speaker 6: You got the stage president, you was dancing, was holding
- 4:11Speaker 6: your birth control was good. Like that is really like
- 4:14Speaker 6: a lot of people don't don't get that, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 6: especially new artists. Yeah, I went through artists development that great. Yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 6: it's so crazy because I know that's not as honestly
- 4:26Speaker 6: going through artist development. I might have not even realized
- 4:29Speaker 6: that I was going through it. But as you know,
- 4:33Speaker 6: Denni's Daughter is my first project ever. I've never put
- 4:37Speaker 6: out a body of work. So I got video music
- 4:40Speaker 6: videos that I never put out. I got songs that
- 4:43Speaker 6: I've never put out any pay for like the beat
- 4:45Speaker 6: is pay for and everything, and never put it out
- 4:46Speaker 6: because it's like it's just a feeling with me.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I move off how I feel.
- 4:51Speaker 6: So I'm like, no, I don't think this is ready yet.
- 4:54Speaker 6: But when I finally knew me.
- 4:56Speaker 5: As an artist, like my sound, it was.
- 5:00Speaker 6: How did you get that sound? Because that that lower register?
- 5:03Speaker 6: What made you stick with that?
- 5:04Speaker 3: Because you don't how you sound? Nah, but I mean
- 5:08Speaker 3: sound saying what made you want to get that tone?
- 5:11Speaker 6: Because that's my mad voice, like when I'm mad. Oh yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 6: it's a different it's this.
- 5:17Speaker 5: This is like a different person. You would think I'm
- 5:19Speaker 5: seven foot tall.
- 5:20Speaker 6: But you know what that your sound reminds me. It's
- 5:23Speaker 6: so nostalgic. It's like that nineties, uh you know New
- 5:27Speaker 6: York sound to me, like Kim she had that that
- 5:30Speaker 6: that lower register sometimes what you know, you had Foxy
- 5:34Speaker 6: with the lower register, and that's what it feels like
- 5:37Speaker 6: to me. It feels like you're bringing me back to
- 5:39Speaker 6: the old school New York type. Vibe.
- 5:40Speaker 5: I'm from Brooklyn. Like Brooklyn don't change.
- 5:43Speaker 6: We all talk alike, and even if the lingo is
- 5:46Speaker 6: is newer, it's still sounds ain't like we It's like
- 5:51Speaker 6: so cultural out there that you just can't you know,
- 5:53Speaker 6: when I speak, they'd be like, oh, you from Brooklyn,
- 5:56Speaker 6: Like what.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Well, we could definitely tell you from New York.
- 5:59Speaker 6: No, but see, some people can tell I'm from Brooklyn,
- 6:02Speaker 6: not even oh.
- 6:03Speaker 5: You're from the Bronx.
- 6:04Speaker 6: You from Queens.
- 6:05Speaker 5: They be like, that's a Brooklyn girl.
- 6:06Speaker 6: Mm hmm. I could. I could tell the different dialects
- 6:09Speaker 6: if somebody's from New York's talking to me, I could
- 6:11Speaker 6: kind of shape the borough like the Bronx.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I know.
- 6:14Speaker 6: I mean, it's just different inflections. It's not something that's toy.
- 6:18Speaker 6: You can't you can't teach somebody to know which bird
- 6:21Speaker 6: they're from from New York City. You just got to
- 6:23Speaker 6: like live in a coach and just know. It's just
- 6:24Speaker 6: a feeling like you like what you just said, Oh yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 6: you from And I love New Yorkers by the way,
- 6:28Speaker 6: like it's tro for me to go there, like when
- 6:31Speaker 6: it's when it's fallowing real cold. Yeah, can New York
- 6:35Speaker 6: It gets so cold. It's cold right now. I'm happy
- 6:38Speaker 6: to be out here. And what's your favorite record off
- 6:42Speaker 6: the album?
- 6:44Speaker 5: Dead Dennis and Vacant Heart?
- 6:45Speaker 6: Okay, oh man, those are the deepest song. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because,
- 6:53Speaker 6: oh man, it's that's what gets me through my day.
- 6:58Speaker 6: Just listening back to those, I'd be feeling like I
- 7:01Speaker 6: accomplished something, like I did it, Like I accomplished my
- 7:04Speaker 6: fears of going through my traumatizing paths and be okay
- 7:09Speaker 6: with it though, like not even crying or nothing, just
- 7:12Speaker 6: be okay with it, Like all.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Right, that's what I've been through. It is what it is,
- 7:15Speaker 5: what's next?
- 7:15Speaker 6: So yeah, what made you dedicate the album to your dad?
- 7:19Speaker 6: When I used to hang out with my dad when
- 7:21Speaker 6: I was younger, they would always nickname me Little d
- 7:23Speaker 6: every time they seen us together. So I wanted the
- 7:27Speaker 6: world to start calling me Dennis daughter because I wanted
- 7:29Speaker 6: to relive that moment that I knew I could never
- 7:32Speaker 6: really get because my father's not here no more. And
- 7:35Speaker 6: that's the only time they would call me little d
- 7:37Speaker 6: if they've seen us together.
- 7:38Speaker 5: So now I'm like, oh, like, I'm still his I'm.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Still his daughter, I'm still don his daughter. Like, what's
- 7:43Speaker 6: going on? What happened to nickname? And I love nicknames?
- 7:47Speaker 6: So speaking of nicknames, where did Lola come from? You
- 7:50Speaker 6: had to think Lola Bunny, Lola Bunny. They used to
- 7:53Speaker 6: say I look like Lola Bunny in high school.
- 7:55Speaker 4: So that's so, what's your real name?
- 7:58Speaker 5: Shiny?
- 8:02Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 8:02Speaker 4: When you drop that big record, don't Play with It?
- 8:05Speaker 4: Did you have a deal at that particular time? No,
- 8:08Speaker 4: do you have a deal now?
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm with Arista, Me and Timmate.
- 8:12Speaker 3: So what about when the remix came out? Yeah, so
- 8:15Speaker 3: you had a deal then.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Yeah, because the remix came out in March, if I'm
- 8:20Speaker 6: not mistaken, Yeah, and I signed, Yeah, that was signed.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So how did the record come about? Though?
- 8:27Speaker 6: Okay, so I was in the studio all right. So
- 8:29Speaker 6: the producer Dizzy that produced Don't Play With It. We
- 8:32Speaker 6: would just randomly, always just be on the phone talking
- 8:35Speaker 6: about music, not even just about me. Sometimes I'd be like, Yo,
- 8:38Speaker 6: this already sound good for that beat? Send that pack
- 8:40Speaker 6: to that person, like just feeding off of each other
- 8:42Speaker 6: in general. So he will always pay me beats and
- 8:45Speaker 6: I'm like, yo, send me that And the beat was
- 8:47Speaker 6: called Empire. Don't Play with it the original name for it.
- 8:50Speaker 6: I listened to it, start volbuting with it. I was like,
- 8:53Speaker 6: you know what I'm gonnait? Tell I get to the
- 8:54Speaker 6: studio and really like start going crazy to it. Took
- 8:57Speaker 6: it to the studio, did my thing, and I was like,
- 9:00Speaker 6: I could do a second verse because I felt to
- 9:02Speaker 6: do it. But I'm like, I think I want to
- 9:05Speaker 6: ship his energy because my energy is on the hook
- 9:08Speaker 6: on the verse. I need a different type of view
- 9:11Speaker 6: on it. So I sent it out to a Brooklyn artist, Billy,
- 9:14Speaker 6: and she got on it sent back.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Because people started bringing you out on concerts. That's how
- 9:18Speaker 3: I started noticing you because I was.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Like, damn, And that's how I was like, oh is
- 9:23Speaker 4: she shorter? Is just the angle?
- 9:25Speaker 3: But I kept saying this can't be heard because I'm like, yo,
- 9:28Speaker 3: she sounds so no box you.
- 9:31Speaker 4: No, because it's so so aggressive. I'm thinking you you.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Know, just how tall are you?
- 9:39Speaker 3: But I'm just saying I just want to give your
- 9:41Speaker 3: credit and your flowers too, because you know, in Atlanta,
- 9:43Speaker 3: won't got to listen to nothing else, but we had
- 9:45Speaker 3: to play your record. I'm a DJ, so we had
- 9:49Speaker 3: to play.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Your record to get them.
- 9:50Speaker 3: People turned up because like in Atlanta, you know, we
- 9:53Speaker 3: play future to two hours straight little maybe hours straight,
- 9:55Speaker 3: but we had to play your record.
- 9:58Speaker 4: So when I started sound, I was like, dog, he's fire. Yeah,
- 10:02Speaker 4: he gives.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Me like the East Coast. Yeah, we know, geting it Buck,
- 10:07Speaker 5: It's like that gives me like East Coast.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So how did you know that it was blowing up?
- 10:12Speaker 6: It was Twitter?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Twitter.
- 10:15Speaker 5: This guy his name is Just Maine. Shout out to
- 10:18Speaker 5: Just Maine.
- 10:18Speaker 6: He had put it on his page, and I guess
- 10:21Speaker 6: people and his audience never really seen me before, so
- 10:23Speaker 6: they was like excited. And then then after that it
- 10:26Speaker 6: just took on to other platforms.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Oh wow, when did the funk Flex freestyle come?
- 10:30Speaker 6: I'm from New York City, so I've probably could have
- 10:33Speaker 6: been on funk Flex any you know, but I felt
- 10:38Speaker 6: like it had to be a moment, like going up
- 10:40Speaker 6: to Flex, you you have to be celebrating something. For me,
- 10:42Speaker 6: I'm not just going up there to just just rap
- 10:46Speaker 6: the freestyle. I have to earn being there so when
- 10:49Speaker 6: people actually look it up, they respect it. They don't
- 10:52Speaker 6: look like I'm just doing things and say it look
- 10:54Speaker 6: like I'm doing something. But yeah, that came about because
- 10:57Speaker 6: Flex me and flex got like a real strong person relationship.
- 11:02Speaker 5: He just like that occurs on your like he just
- 11:06Speaker 5: like that.
- 11:06Speaker 6: I talk mad ship and I'm always spinning the block
- 11:10Speaker 6: in the clubs like I could. I'll perform real early,
- 11:13Speaker 6: like I don't care if I'm the first performer, but
- 11:15Speaker 6: I'm definitely gonna catch that crowd when it comes in.
- 11:18Speaker 5: So he just like my hunger and I like his too.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So you know, yeah, I.
- 11:22Speaker 7: Can tell that's definitely your mad voice because when that's
- 11:25Speaker 7: all come on in the club, all the girls get the.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yelling yeah like you.
- 11:30Speaker 6: I describe don't play with it as like a defense
- 11:34Speaker 6: that like, you know, like when you defend yourself, you play.
- 11:37Speaker 6: Don't play with it when you feel like you're being
- 11:39Speaker 6: played with you like you stand up with what you.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Say Spanish in the song give Me give Me a Bad?
- 11:44Speaker 3: So is that is that part of your nationality.
- 11:47Speaker 5: I'm from Brooklyn.
- 11:48Speaker 6: When I go to the corner store, I'll be like, hey, o, Poppy,
- 11:50Speaker 6: I know a little you know accent some Thames. You
- 11:55Speaker 6: all know, it's just a Brooklyn thing. It's so it's
- 12:00Speaker 6: so diverse out there, so many different cultures that I'm
- 12:03Speaker 6: adapt to it that's how I connect with people in
- 12:06Speaker 6: my neighborhood.
- 12:07Speaker 3: That's an underrated part of the song because you're you're
- 12:11Speaker 3: singing in a different language that kind of involves another
- 12:14Speaker 3: group of people.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm from Brooklyn. It's natural for me, so I'm
- 12:21Speaker 6: always Sometimes I randomly be talking and I'd be like, no, buppy,
- 12:26Speaker 6: I don't like like, It's just that's how I was
- 12:29Speaker 6: taught to connect with the people in the corner stores
- 12:32Speaker 6: when I needed a hot sandwich or something, you know,
- 12:35Speaker 6: like you tap into the world.
- 12:37Speaker 8: We'll be right back with more of The Baller Alert Show.
- 12:47Speaker 8: You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Uh, it's good Josh, your girl Lola Brook, And I'm
- 12:53Speaker 6: gonna need you to like subscribe Boiler Alert Show because
- 12:55Speaker 6: guess who on the Lola Brook? Can you describe that
- 12:59Speaker 6: hustle U on your way to that record? Like the
- 13:02Speaker 6: grind that it took to get that one record that
- 13:05Speaker 6: blew your career up. It took a lot of sacrificing
- 13:09Speaker 6: your time with family and discipline, like disciplining yourself for sure.
- 13:15Speaker 6: So I'm big on discipline, Like sometimes I just do
- 13:18Speaker 6: things to see if I'm strong enough to stop doing
- 13:20Speaker 6: something like So, like right now I don't eat rap
- 13:25Speaker 6: meat or pork.
- 13:27Speaker 5: It's not I can. I can eat it if I
- 13:29Speaker 5: really want to.
- 13:30Speaker 6: But the fact that I have some type of control
- 13:31Speaker 6: over my life it means a lot to me because
- 13:34Speaker 6: my father was an addict, so I try not to
- 13:36Speaker 6: be addicted to certain things. Like if I wanted to
- 13:38Speaker 6: stop doing something right now, I can and I feel
- 13:40Speaker 6: like that mean a lot for me.
- 13:41Speaker 7: So would you learn that from going to therapy or
- 13:44Speaker 7: anything like that.
- 13:45Speaker 5: I used when I was young.
- 13:46Speaker 6: I used to want therapy, but I've never had it.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Nope, Rapping is having a bad day or going through.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Is my therapist? Is therapeutic for me?
- 13:59Speaker 6: That's what I like in the future. You're probably looking
- 14:01Speaker 6: to it or no, I might, But music been a
- 14:06Speaker 6: platform for me to express myself so well, and it's
- 14:09Speaker 6: been making me happy and reflect on my life that
- 14:11Speaker 6: I feel like it's enough right now.
- 14:13Speaker 5: So I don't know what the future holds.
- 14:15Speaker 6: I know, yeah, you almost had me crying now.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Is there is there a special somebody making you happy?
- 14:21Speaker 3: Or is Lola single my business?
- 14:27Speaker 4: Come on now, tell me we're friends now, so you
- 14:32Speaker 4: can tell a lot.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Of rough necks make me want to feel soft for sure.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Okay, okay, but I'm focused.
- 14:38Speaker 6: Honestly, I'm a I'm a fan of love, and I
- 14:40Speaker 6: do feel like it should be someone in your corner,
- 14:42Speaker 6: if you're serious or not, it should just be that
- 14:44Speaker 6: someone that you could connect with from heart to heart
- 14:47Speaker 6: as you trying to proceed in your career, even if
- 14:50Speaker 6: it's serious, it's a title or anything. I feel like
- 14:52Speaker 6: that's that presence is needed in your life. I'm single.
- 14:57Speaker 6: What is a person? What?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Long time?
- 15:01Speaker 6: How should the guys approach How should the guys approach me?
- 15:08Speaker 1: No?
- 15:08Speaker 4: D ms nah do you read?
- 15:11Speaker 6: You don't say no friend over to talk to me
- 15:14Speaker 6: type thing?
- 15:14Speaker 5: Or they'd love that, they love doing that.
- 15:19Speaker 6: It just got to be an organic, natural way, like
- 15:22Speaker 6: I just gotta it just right, good, good place, right Tommy.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You know.
- 15:26Speaker 6: And I'm very private too, So don't don't send your
- 15:29Speaker 6: friends because I'm like, who know you talk to me?
- 15:33Speaker 6: That's me.
- 15:33Speaker 5: I'm that girl who don't call me on face time.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Nelly situation going back to my ex.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I mean, but just like publicly smiling and going back.
- 15:45Speaker 6: To I love that for them, but I don't think
- 15:50Speaker 6: that's my story.
- 15:52Speaker 4: You ain't spending the block like, no public displays of affections.
- 15:54Speaker 6: I don't mind public affectionate towards me and in my soulmate,
- 15:59Speaker 6: I'm all for it.
- 16:01Speaker 5: It's just that right now, what's frontline is my career.
- 16:04Speaker 6: And then once I get this solid and I'll tap
- 16:07Speaker 6: into it. Now, what's the this is the ball alert show?
- 16:10Speaker 6: What is like the one thing that you spent big
- 16:13Speaker 6: on so far?
- 16:14Speaker 1: First big purchase? What's you blow a check on?
- 16:17Speaker 6: I didn't blow a check yet, I'll promise you. I
- 16:21Speaker 6: didn't blow a check yet. Even if I see jewelry
- 16:23Speaker 6: on me, I didn't buy it.
- 16:25Speaker 5: It was a gift.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Are you very frugal?
- 16:29Speaker 4: I could best? What do you buy yourself?
- 16:35Speaker 6: I cater to my home like I like nice things
- 16:38Speaker 6: in my home, like my piece is at home, and
- 16:40Speaker 6: I make sure my moms is straight. But for the
- 16:42Speaker 6: most part, my money I saved up because it's like
- 16:45Speaker 6: we just had a pandemic in twenty twenty. I don't
- 16:47Speaker 6: know if a pandemic going to hit again. You just
- 16:49Speaker 6: never know. So until I could buy something three to
- 16:52Speaker 6: five times, then that's when I just bought do that
- 16:54Speaker 6: big purchase?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Now, who taught you this because everybody called me cheap.
- 16:59Speaker 6: Okay, but my pockets taught me. You your mom moved
- 17:05Speaker 6: to Atlanta and you were just there in your New
- 17:07Speaker 6: York yourself by myself. And I knew if I would
- 17:11Speaker 6: have told my mom's like because I didn't want her
- 17:13Speaker 6: to go, but I had to let her go because
- 17:15Speaker 6: that was her dreams, and I knew I wasn't telling
- 17:17Speaker 6: her that I didn't want her to go because for
- 17:19Speaker 6: my dreams, I needed to stand on my own and
- 17:21Speaker 6: figure it out, take on new responsibilities because I wouldn't
- 17:25Speaker 6: know what I'm be able to handle, like my own shit.
- 17:29Speaker 6: So financially you had to step up. Financially, I had
- 17:32Speaker 6: to step up.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Girl, she.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Talk about it.
- 17:36Speaker 5: Oh God, damn yo, woo listen.
- 17:40Speaker 6: It was rough, like I was having like twenty it's
- 17:44Speaker 6: times I had twenty dollars to my name so much
- 17:47Speaker 6: my yo, I would I would make sure my light
- 17:50Speaker 6: bill was a good forty dollars. I would be like,
- 17:55Speaker 6: my light bill has to be forty dollars. I was
- 17:57Speaker 6: on Section eight and still couldn't pay the other half
- 17:59Speaker 6: of my rent. When Section they was helping me, and
- 18:01Speaker 6: when I was going grocery shopping, I would just buy
- 18:04Speaker 6: like ground meat and what else, tomato sauce because spaghetti
- 18:10Speaker 6: was spaghetti was the to go too. I was broke,
- 18:14Speaker 6: man like for real. So now that I'm finally making
- 18:16Speaker 6: a way for myself and I could take care of
- 18:18Speaker 6: myself and I'm comfortable a little bit, I don't want
- 18:22Speaker 6: that feeling again, like I do not want to go back.
- 18:25Speaker 6: So if I'm not investing my bread, then I might
- 18:27Speaker 6: as well save it.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Thank you for saying that, too, y.
- 18:29Speaker 7: I like that because I feel like a lot of
- 18:31Speaker 7: artists the first thing they do when they get a
- 18:33Speaker 7: check is.
- 18:34Speaker 1: They blow it.
- 18:35Speaker 6: Nah, Because then when you blow it, it's like, how
- 18:37Speaker 6: can you maintain it? So you're gonna get the update
- 18:41Speaker 6: car or you're gonna purchase the house, but you ain't
- 18:44Speaker 6: buy it, you're really renting it. And then you can't
- 18:46Speaker 6: even keep up with the bills. You can't even keep
- 18:48Speaker 6: up with the maintenance. You gotta maintenance around your crib
- 18:50Speaker 6: because you're barely there. You're on the roll all the time.
- 18:52Speaker 6: So what's the craziest thing you've seen out on the
- 18:55Speaker 6: road so far?
- 18:55Speaker 5: Oh, when I went to Virginia, I left out this hosting.
- 19:01Speaker 6: The fans was fighting over me, like really fist fighting
- 19:04Speaker 6: over I felt so bad, man, I wanted to jump in.
- 19:08Speaker 4: They was, you.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Know, like me because I was leaving.
- 19:14Speaker 6: And then they was trying to like bum rush me,
- 19:17Speaker 6: but out of love, out of love. But the other
- 19:21Speaker 6: people that were trying to bum rush too, was like, oh,
- 19:23Speaker 6: were about to like just rumble it up because I
- 19:26Speaker 6: need to get to Shorty and they just was fighting.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Damn damn.
- 19:30Speaker 6: I was like the love man, I was like, don't
- 19:31Speaker 6: fight though, but I feel of obs.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I'm out of here.
- 19:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I got at it.
- 19:39Speaker 6: What's some of the biggest mistakes that you've learned from
- 19:43Speaker 6: so far?
- 19:44Speaker 5: Doubting myself because I probably would have.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Been I wouldn't say I'm not gonna say I probably
- 19:52Speaker 6: would have been in this seat faster, but for sure,
- 19:55Speaker 6: just doubting myself because you just never know what your
- 19:57Speaker 6: destiny is. You just I feel like your life is
- 19:59Speaker 6: already written, So why would you doubt yourself.
- 20:02Speaker 5: You have no idea what your future can hold.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I like that you got any dream collapse anybody want
- 20:07Speaker 1: to collab with?
- 20:08Speaker 6: Yeah? Okay, so it was me because that was my
- 20:12Speaker 6: favorite artists growing up.
- 20:13Speaker 5: One of my favorite artists growing up.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Yeah, but Pluto for sure.
- 20:19Speaker 8: Future Yeah, okay, that would that would sound crazy in
- 20:23Speaker 8: the club. What I'm not gonna lie because I was
- 20:26Speaker 8: listening to some of your album and I just hear
- 20:28Speaker 8: like the ad libs, and I was like, man, these
- 20:31Speaker 8: ada libs.
- 20:31Speaker 6: I'm like, man, six, you're not I used to hate
- 20:35Speaker 6: doing ad libs.
- 20:37Speaker 1: No, I love your ad libs.
- 20:38Speaker 5: I used to hate doing a libs.
- 20:40Speaker 6: I would be like, I would be so excited to
- 20:43Speaker 6: lay down the verse and then they would be like
- 20:45Speaker 6: ins and out.
- 20:46Speaker 5: It's like cool ad libs. Oh my god, I don't
- 20:49Speaker 5: know what to say.
- 20:50Speaker 6: But then I started like playing with it a little
- 20:53Speaker 6: bit and figuring it out. And now that's my favorite
- 20:56Speaker 6: part about Rabbits ad libs. You know where You're hear
- 20:59Speaker 6: that on.
- 21:01Speaker 5: No Big Gatta in the spy.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Yeah, do you have a celebrity crush?
- 21:07Speaker 5: I have a celebrity crush? Okay, who is it? I?
- 21:17Speaker 6: I just said hi to them? Hi?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Who is it?
- 21:19Speaker 4: You just said hi to them?
- 21:20Speaker 3: No?
- 21:20Speaker 5: I just know I was saying hi, camera you see it?
- 21:23Speaker 1: Got it?
- 21:24Speaker 6: Well, miss Loller broke Man. We're so glad that you
- 21:26Speaker 6: started by the Barler alert show. And I don't want
- 21:28Speaker 6: to keep you long because you know you got a
- 21:30Speaker 6: big press.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Run to keep looking at me.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Yes, but we got a game for you real quick, okay,
- 21:43Speaker 6: baller blitz.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Okay.
- 21:47Speaker 6: So I'm going to say the line of the song,
- 21:48Speaker 6: and you let me know who the artist is and
- 21:51Speaker 6: the song title. Okay, all right, here we go on.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Never the one packing the gun.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Never the one packing the gun?
- 22:00Speaker 6: What are you packing? I never the one packing the gun?
- 22:04Speaker 6: It sounds is that the go wait? I don't know
- 22:10Speaker 6: that sounds so never packing the gun? Yeah, left eye,
- 22:16Speaker 6: the one left out ladies night.
- 22:20Speaker 8: All right.
- 22:20Speaker 6: These are all women, by the way, all rappers, by
- 22:22Speaker 6: the way. And you know man from making it so
- 22:24Speaker 6: sick flossing in my six with the lex on the wrists.
- 22:29Speaker 6: Say it again, and you know me from making little
- 22:34Speaker 6: Kim saying you supposed Benjamins. Oh ship, some of y'all

- 23:11Speaker 9: Oh ship at the ball high post fronting I toast
- 23:18Speaker 9: getting my flirt on.
- 23:19Speaker 6: That's there. The most critically acclaimed rap chick in the game,
- 23:31Speaker 6: Nikki the double stop. Huh that was a double woman?
- 23:36Speaker 6: Go ahead, I know that's Eve.
- 23:38Speaker 5: No, I don't know, that's what.
- 23:41Speaker 6: Yeah, last one of my favorite one. I don't even
- 23:48Speaker 6: got me a hundred bands. That's bro Gass. I'm still
- 24:00Speaker 6: gonna maybe a hundred a hundred punts. I love that line.
- 24:05Speaker 6: That's yo. That's the line I go with for sure,
- 24:07Speaker 6: like that's my to go too, because I'd be like,
- 24:10Speaker 6: remember when I told y'all I did. I was not scared.
- 24:13Speaker 6: When I told you I ain't got no breads, and
- 24:14Speaker 6: when I get some bread, don't ask me for ship.
- 24:16Speaker 6: Because when I told you I was broke, nobody said
- 24:19Speaker 6: do you need You wouldn't need a hondred k loan.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Nobody asked you don't.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Want a hunt a k loan for for somebody that.
- 24:25Speaker 6: You probably not not in business, you know, but you
- 24:28Speaker 6: like if you gotta you heard what you what I've
- 24:31Speaker 6: done a business, but you know her little friend in front.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Of the front.
- 24:34Speaker 6: You know, I'll take you back when I can get
- 24:35Speaker 6: when I can.
- 24:38Speaker 8: When I do.
- 24:41Speaker 6: You want to hear that. We do have a pep talk.
- 24:43Speaker 5: What's good y'all?
- 24:43Speaker 6: This Sugarl Lolerbrook and my motivational go to would be
- 24:50Speaker 6: I always say stay ready, so you don't got to
- 24:52Speaker 6: get ready, but that's just my thing. And don't boil
- 24:56Speaker 6: too hard because you will fall. All okay, But now
- 24:59Speaker 6: I'll just tell you how to Don't alert me if
- 25:02Speaker 6: you ain't gonna help me ball out.
- 25:05Speaker 5: And that's that's the one. Don't alert me if you
- 25:08Speaker 5: ain't calling the ball out on me. That's it.

- 25:34Speaker 4: Whatever it's you know BT.
- 25:36Speaker 6: Today, we're kicking off a brand new series. I know
- 25:38Speaker 6: y'all used to you know, some of our pro ballers
- 25:40Speaker 6: out here, Rick Ross, Meek Mill Lowlerbrook on this episode.
- 25:43Speaker 6: But you know we're kicking off a new series because huh,
- 25:47Speaker 6: a lot of times everybody got a problem with like,
- 25:49Speaker 6: you know, newer music coming out and they want an
- 25:51Speaker 6: opinion on it, So we just created this series so
- 25:54Speaker 6: they can have an opinion. And this is our rookie series.
- 25:58Speaker 6: And h we got two great art's right here that
- 26:00Speaker 6: we want to highlight. So we're gonna challenge you do
- 26:03Speaker 6: y'allself one time.
- 26:04Speaker 10: What's good is your boy moon walking? Straight out of
- 26:06Speaker 10: Digg County, Florida. You may know me for the single
- 26:08Speaker 10: Lizzo a little bit of story but that's okay. Also
- 26:11Speaker 10: sauce right now with my boy Kole g and King Lee,
- 26:14Speaker 10: so you know, making moves, moving and grooving.
- 26:17Speaker 1: O G what up?
- 26:17Speaker 5: Man?
- 26:18Speaker 1: What's good with the with the gutter TV shirt?
- 26:20Speaker 8: All?
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah? For show?
- 26:21Speaker 10: Gut to TV, salute for show. I mean, spare rats,
- 26:25Speaker 10: Joe Son Empire. You know what I'm saying Me, I
- 26:29Speaker 10: originally you know Florida, but I've been in Atlanta. It's
- 26:32Speaker 10: like oh three producing for a lot of Marie. Just
- 26:34Speaker 10: a lot of up and coming, you know what I'm saying,
- 26:36Speaker 10: just working.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Florida boys is in the building.
- 26:39Speaker 6: Yeah, let us do a little bit about you know,
- 26:41Speaker 6: y'all background, where y'all come from, how it was Florida
- 26:43Speaker 6: growing up?
- 26:43Speaker 10: I really related, like like the martyr, Like we ain't
- 26:46Speaker 10: have like buses and plant I mean busses and trains
- 26:50Speaker 10: and stuff like that. So like if you ain't had
- 26:52Speaker 10: no car, you can't get nowhere. So that's just like
- 26:56Speaker 10: how the music was in Florida. So it's like they
- 26:58Speaker 10: ain't had no outlet like once studio, you know what
- 27:01Speaker 10: I'm saying. Like when I came to Atlanta, it was
- 27:03Speaker 10: like multiple studios everywhere. So when I made a name there,
- 27:08Speaker 10: I just took everything from there, and I'm trying to transform,
- 27:11Speaker 10: know what i mean, get it back toward like an
- 27:14Speaker 10: outlet for my folks too.
- 27:16Speaker 1: What about you? I whant to come to me?
- 27:17Speaker 10: When it came out of music, I realized like early,
- 27:20Speaker 10: like there's a big difference between being local and being global.
- 27:23Speaker 10: Do you want to be local or do you want
- 27:25Speaker 10: to be global. Because you want to be local, continue
- 27:27Speaker 10: doing the bunch of local stuff. But if you want
- 27:28Speaker 10: to be global, taking music bangstream, ticket local, I mean
- 27:31Speaker 10: ticket global, put it in the eyes and the ears
- 27:33Speaker 10: and in front of the world, versus just trying to
- 27:35Speaker 10: get everybody to back you where you're from. Like because
- 27:38Speaker 10: at the end of the day that money might be
- 27:40Speaker 10: only so much you know what I'm saying, But if
- 27:42Speaker 10: you're able to toward the world for the rest of
- 27:44Speaker 10: your life, you always go be good.
- 27:45Speaker 1: You did what I'm saying.
- 27:46Speaker 7: So now how hard it is for people you know,
- 27:50Speaker 7: like yourself, who are I'm pretty sure popular in your
- 27:53Speaker 7: neighborhood to not only just be you know, just just
- 27:57Speaker 7: stuck into like the local celebrity. And you know how
- 28:01Speaker 7: important it is to you know, to be like, man,
- 28:04Speaker 7: I gotta get out and I gotta start traveling.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I gotta get my music out because a lot of
- 28:08Speaker 1: people get caught.
- 28:09Speaker 7: You know, if you get a song and it blows
- 28:11Speaker 7: up in your neighborhood, you like, well, is it.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Well for me?
- 28:14Speaker 10: Because Miami is like weird, because it's like, well, it's
- 28:17Speaker 10: a lot of you know, a bunch of talented people.
- 28:19Speaker 1: You know they got it.
- 28:21Speaker 10: So it's just when somebody pop, it's like I already
- 28:24Speaker 10: knew that was gonna happen. So whenever I bubb it too,
- 28:26Speaker 10: people of course, you know, they congratulate me when it
- 28:28Speaker 10: comes down to the music. But as far as like
- 28:30Speaker 10: anything crazy like that, I'm still the same person that
- 28:33Speaker 10: even before you need any of this, probably just it
- 28:35Speaker 10: was only a matter of time, bro, you know what
- 28:37Speaker 10: I mean?
- 28:37Speaker 6: So where was the Where did the career start?
- 28:39Speaker 1: For me? First?
- 28:41Speaker 10: I studied when it come down to social media, I
- 28:44Speaker 10: study like the habits of people and algorithms and things
- 28:46Speaker 10: that people like to do. So I started putting music
- 28:49Speaker 10: out there. When I sing that okay cool. If I
- 28:51Speaker 10: just instead of just being crazy, just put out a
- 28:54Speaker 10: bunch of different music. If I promoted just one song,
- 28:57Speaker 10: it's gonna go crazy. So I put out the single
- 28:59Speaker 10: called it, So the song went crazy, ended up streaming heavy,
- 29:04Speaker 10: mellis means au point, means upon means and streams. So
- 29:07Speaker 10: at that point, ended up getting connected with a distribution
- 29:10Speaker 10: company just for the single along.
- 29:11Speaker 1: So from that point independent, Oh so you're gonna independ
- 29:14Speaker 1: her out.
- 29:15Speaker 10: I mean, it all got to make sense to me
- 29:17Speaker 10: because I'm not only doing this for myself.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'm doing this I have artists that I'm working with
- 29:21Speaker 1: as well.
- 29:22Speaker 10: Shout out to shawnee G, shout out the dB, shout
- 29:24Speaker 10: out the Breeze, my boy back that that's my brother,
- 29:26Speaker 10: that's King Swain. So we have a lot of things
- 29:28Speaker 10: that we're working on. So it has to make sense.
- 29:31Speaker 10: I'm not going to jump into something for myself. It
- 29:33Speaker 10: got to be for one lucrative. It has to be
- 29:37Speaker 10: financially able to tape my artists and myself and put
- 29:41Speaker 10: us into the next level. But if not, I could
- 29:43Speaker 10: do what I'm doing already by myself. Now, I got
- 29:45Speaker 10: a question, did listen? Will ever hear the record? I
- 29:48Speaker 10: really don't know that, to be real with you, like
- 29:50Speaker 10: that wasn't really like the goal. The goal of the
- 29:54Speaker 10: song was because I wanted all women to feel appreciated,
- 29:56Speaker 10: you know what I'm saying, Because we hear music all
- 29:58Speaker 10: the time about that every average, everyday women quote unquote
- 30:02Speaker 10: as they say. So I wanted those women to feel
- 30:05Speaker 10: like included, and I feel like, in a world full
- 30:07Speaker 10: of nose, they finally got there.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Yes, what's some of the biggest lessons you learned so
- 30:10Speaker 6: far being an independent artist? For both of y'all, you.
- 30:14Speaker 10: Gotta you gotta like be real disciplined, and you gotta
- 30:18Speaker 10: you gotta you gotta know how to It's a lot
- 30:21Speaker 10: of no's in the game. You know what I'm saying
- 30:23Speaker 10: That if you if you if you can't take a
- 30:26Speaker 10: note or rejection or anything like that, and you you
- 30:30Speaker 10: can't get past that, it's ain't the field for you,
- 30:33Speaker 10: because it's like you gotta keep striving until you get
- 30:36Speaker 10: because it's something out that that's gonna stick to what
- 30:39Speaker 10: you got going on, your way of your emotion, you
- 30:41Speaker 10: feel me, you just gotta keep going for it.
- 30:43Speaker 1: That's that's what I look at it.
- 30:45Speaker 10: I'm a piggyback off of what he said about the discipline, Like, well,
- 30:48Speaker 10: a lot of people don't understand that this independent thing
- 30:50Speaker 10: really means independent. It's not like a job. You know,
- 30:53Speaker 10: how say fancy you get up, you go clock in.
- 30:55Speaker 10: They tell you that you're gonna work from this time
- 30:57Speaker 10: to that time. When you're independent. If you get an check,
- 31:00Speaker 10: some people might get comfortable and chill. You can't get
- 31:03Speaker 10: comfortable in chill. You still got to continue to work.
- 31:05Speaker 10: This is a job now, bro. So that discipline to
- 31:08Speaker 10: be able to tell yourself, I'm going to record from
- 31:10Speaker 10: this time to that time, even though I got these
- 31:13Speaker 10: thousands sitting inside the account that I mean that discipline
- 31:17Speaker 10: has to be there in order for you to thrive
- 31:18Speaker 10: in this independent world.
- 31:19Speaker 7: And that's really important because a lot of a lot
- 31:21Speaker 7: of independent artists, I feel like, don't talk about the
- 31:25Speaker 7: business side of things like you know, everybody is always
- 31:27Speaker 7: trying to be like, hey, you know.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I'm independent, label owns me.
- 31:32Speaker 7: But you know, uh, they don't talk about the work,
- 31:35Speaker 7: the work that you got to put in as far
- 31:36Speaker 7: as like putting your own money up, you know for
- 31:39Speaker 7: a certain network works.
- 31:41Speaker 10: A lot of people don't like to like, i mean,
- 31:43Speaker 10: walk up on folks and play what's going on? But
- 31:46Speaker 10: you gotta gotta rub hands and get through them doors.
- 31:50Speaker 6: Got to now being this is the Baller Alert show,
- 31:52Speaker 6: how is business? As an independent artist?
- 31:55Speaker 10: You gotta be a hustler like as far as like
- 31:58Speaker 10: the businesses and still doing what you gotta do, plus
- 32:02Speaker 10: being an artist and contributing with you.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's really important.
- 32:05Speaker 7: I'm glad you mentioned that too, because a lot of
- 32:09Speaker 7: independent or upcoming artists, what I've noticed is like they
- 32:12Speaker 7: always talking about they locked into the studio, they locked
- 32:15Speaker 7: into the studio, And I'm like, you know, being an
- 32:18Speaker 7: artist is more than just sitting in the studio recording
- 32:20Speaker 7: the song. Don't get it twisted, Like, ain't nothing wrong
- 32:24Speaker 7: with having a job, Ain't nothing wrong with a nine
- 32:27Speaker 7: to five. If you gotta have a job in the
- 32:29Speaker 7: order for you to be able to finance this music thing.
- 32:33Speaker 7: Do it because if you're going full independent, you't got
- 32:36Speaker 7: no job there. Bro look at a lot of these
- 32:37Speaker 7: things cost just because you dope. You just be dope
- 32:41Speaker 7: by yourself. You gotta have that bread.
- 32:44Speaker 10: It seems a hustle for your expenses and then use
- 32:48Speaker 10: them expensive to put time in your music. Or you
- 32:51Speaker 10: get your job and that's gonna take care of your
- 32:53Speaker 10: living expenses while you can figure out and plan what
- 32:56Speaker 10: to do with your time.
- 32:57Speaker 1: With the music.
- 32:58Speaker 6: So it's next for you guys.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Websites will be back up this week.
- 33:02Speaker 10: I have some shorts that are on the way for
- 33:04Speaker 10: the single the song I have called throw It Back,
- 33:06Speaker 10: and I also have some shorts that are coming for
- 33:08Speaker 10: you know, I can't sing the name of a song.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Oh hell but yeah come a new Merchin. Yeah I can't.
- 33:13Speaker 10: It's some things that's coming, y'all go just tune in.
- 33:15Speaker 10: It's a big, I mean situation ahead and it's and
- 33:18Speaker 10: it's sauce already out right. Yes, that's what y'all going
- 33:22Speaker 10: crazy crazy on that song? Apple Music, Yeah, Spotify, everything
- 33:26Speaker 10: like that. Give a bit, salute the gut of TV.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Shout out together.
- 33:30Speaker 1: That's my job needed.
- 33:31Speaker 10: Lights global, you know, what I mean, my big brother
- 33:33Speaker 10: Keen Lee making all this possible.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 33:35Speaker 10: The other verse on the Saut song with us, Okay,
- 33:38Speaker 10: you know what I'm saying. And we got a lot
- 33:41Speaker 10: when we touched down in the city. You know, I'm
- 33:43Speaker 10: originally from here. Well I'm originally from Florida, but I
- 33:46Speaker 10: put a lot of time I've been here so o
- 33:48Speaker 10: three So I got a lot of connections and stuff
- 33:50Speaker 10: in the goda. So we just put together a whole
- 33:53Speaker 10: little you know, saying like a little run like we
- 33:55Speaker 10: went to the club, we got photo shoots.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Do the photo shoot out here, work man, that's what
- 34:00Speaker 1: I like. Swamp Pizzo, shout out Swamp.
- 34:04Speaker 6: Explaining a little bit more about your record.
- 34:06Speaker 10: Well, right now we're pushing this song called so you
- 34:09Speaker 10: know how they say sometimes things just write themselves. So
- 34:11Speaker 10: I pull up in the l a right, be kicking it.

- 34:29Speaker 10: setting me up. Let's go on, just winning this drop.
- 34:34Speaker 10: He just wanted to rep he jumped in, did the
- 34:37Speaker 10: ads ad list, it was done. It's like, bro, we
- 34:40Speaker 10: can't we can't not push the song.
- 34:41Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? This verse so fast.
- 34:44Speaker 6: Number of the best songs though, when they come out
- 34:46Speaker 6: really quick without any thought.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Yes, it wasn't even playing.
- 34:49Speaker 10: That's like, that's like how like relationships, like if it
- 34:52Speaker 10: ain't it's like that was genuine, nothing like set up
- 34:56Speaker 10: and like on your market set.
- 34:57Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. It's genuine. It's always gonna
- 34:59Speaker 1: be something unique with it. You feel me.
- 35:02Speaker 7: I do feel like that's when the best songs come
- 35:04Speaker 7: out because we we interview Sally B. I'm sorry, Famous
- 35:08Speaker 7: Sally and YB.
- 35:09Speaker 1: They got the.
- 35:09Speaker 7: Song g Way and they was explaining how they made
- 35:13Speaker 7: the song, and it's kind of similar like that. It's like, Yo,

- 35:17Speaker 7: the song.
- 35:18Speaker 10: It's all about the vibe, you know what I'm saying,
