The 2023 Heritage Cooking Contest was Sept. 7 in Montgomery. This year’s theme for the Alabama Farmers Federation Women’s Leadership Division competition featured baked cheesecakes, honoring the state’s dairy farmers. Elmore County’s Jeanette Tew won first place for her Sweet Potato Pecan Baked Cheesecake. In second place was Randolph County’s Barbara Norred who created Strawberry Cheesecake.
