- 1:37Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 121.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 1:44Dayna Roselli: As we just uh finished up a Memorial Day weekend which was packed in Vegas.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: It really was.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: And I know one of those nights, Dana, you had an evening that was full of all the right stuff.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: Oh yeah.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: And we're gonna get to that coming up in just a minute.
- 1:58Sean McAllister: Because it was, you said one of the best nights ever.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: One of the best nights ever, yes.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: And another, it's weird because it was full of nostalgia, right?
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: And then you know, obviously, you and I went to Top Gun, and I've been waiting for that, right?
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: So good.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: So it was like a full week full of nostalgia.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: And a record-setting opening over the holiday weekend.
- 2:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, huge biggest Memorial Day weekend movie ever belongs to Tom Cruise and Top Gun, which is really cool.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: So congratulations.
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: I haven't heard one negative thing about the movie.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: Everyone's loving it.
- 2:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean it it just hits all the right notes.
- 2:31Sean McAllister: It is it's perfection.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: It is.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: It's so great.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: It's the sequel that everyone needed.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: I wonder if it'll be award-winning.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: I'm curious to see, you know, because I know sometimes it's like I feel like the movies that everyone really likes sometimes don't get nominated for awards or at least win.
- 2:50Sean McAllister: It's always like the artsier movies and yeah, I feel like it could get um I don't know if it's gonna be up for best picture.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: I I feel like Tom Cruise could be in the acting category.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: I mean but it should be best picture.
- 3:04Sean McAllister: I I think probably cinematography it'll be up for because that was all you know done with live planes and live flying and all that.
- 3:12Sean McAllister: And that's difficult to to accomplish.
- 3:14Sean McAllister: It is.
- 3:15Sean McAllister: So it'd be interesting.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:17Sean McAllister: We'll see.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: Well, and I kind of brought up Top Gun because we uh have a big topic we're gonna talk about today that is centered around Elvis and a Top Gun, obviously big movie for Memorial Day weekend, but another big movie coming out that centers around Elvis Presley, and this is huge too because I feel like in Vegas everyone has such an interest in Elvis.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: They do around the world, but you know, especially here, Elvis has been such a big part of our culture.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: This is a huge movie coming out.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: Tom Hanks is in it.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: We've also had shows, right?
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: Like Baz that were the is it the same director as well.
- 3:52Sean McAllister: Baz Lerman is the director of uh the movie called Elvis.
- 3:56Sean McAllister: It you know, chronicles his entire adult life, including uh bits here in Las Vegas.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: I know even in the trailer there were it showed the International Hotel where Elvis had his record-setting run of shows.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: Um so that movie is coming out the end of June.
- 4:12Sean McAllister: Um, but there's a little bit of Elvis controversy happening here in Las Vegas right now.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it has to do with our wedding chapels that are very popular.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: Wedding capital of the world, right?
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: We're a lot of things of the world, right?
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: But one of those, you know, people like to get married here.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: Quick weddings, fast weddings, uh middle of the night weddings, all that kind of thing.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: And many times they like to be married by Elvis.
- 4:35Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Elvis is a huge part of our wedding community.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: Um, and one of the actually chapel owners in this article we were just reading said, we keep Elvis alive, right?
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: But now there's a controversy over his likeliness and whether these chapels will be able to use him to officiate these weddings.
- 4:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, our buddy Johnny Katz over the Review Journal just did a big article talking about what's going on here.
- 4:59Sean McAllister: Basically, there's what there's this company that manages the licensing of Elvis Elvis Presley.
- 5:07Sean McAllister: So anything that says Elvis, Elvis Presley, or the king of rock and roll, uh, it has to go through this licensing company.
- 5:15Sean McAllister: And they are really starting to crack down, specifically on Vegas wedding chapels.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: And within the past couple weeks, they've sent out cease and desist orders to a lot of Las Vegas wedding chapels ordering calling them off.
- 5:30Sean McAllister: They're saying don't touch the Elvis stuff anymore.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: Um, or there are going to be legal ramifications, which would be a big hit to the wedding industry here in Las Vegas, which it I believe is like a two billion dollar industry annually for Las Vegas.
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: I mean, we have, you know, people that come in and get married all the time, like I mentioned, but also like recently we just had, you know, like Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker come into town.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: And was it after the Grammys?
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: They went downtown and said, Hey, we want to get married by an Elvis.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: They specifically requested the Elvis be woken up and come into work and marry them.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: But um, they didn't officially get married at that time.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: But that just shows kind of the fun of it and how people the popularity of being married by an Elvis.
- 6:19Dayna Roselli: It's fun, it's part of the experience of getting married in Las Vegas at one of these chapels.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: Well, and if you listen to it, it was one of our episodes uh of Vegas Revealed in 2020.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: We went to a a wedding chapel here in Las Vegas and we talked with the Elvis.
- 6:37Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:37Sean McAllister: The Elvis officiant sang for us.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we had interviewed that Elvis uh Brendan.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: He's been there for a very long time at the Graceland Wedding Chapel.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: Um, obviously, Graceland, Elvis, right?
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: So many people have gotten married there through the years, including Bon Jovi and uh, you know, a lot of different people um uh of note, noteworthy people there, but it's it's part of it.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: And and our Elvis impersonators are good.
- 7:01Sean McAllister: They are, and there's nothing, I I don't believe there's anything that can be done about Elvis impersonators.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: I think it's the marketing, the the naming.
- 7:12Sean McAllister: I think there is an Elvis wedding chapel in town also uh with Elvis in the name.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: Um so there are ways around this.
- 7:25Sean McAllister: Um there's also a financial resolution that I'm sure could come to pass if these wedding chapels agree to fork over money to this licensing company.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: Um but I don't know, it's a tough spot.
- 7:38Sean McAllister: It's a tough spot for the wedding chapels that are still trying to recover from the loss of business from the the pandemic era.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I have some friends that own one of the chapels, and I just sent them a text and said, you know, what's going on?
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: And they just said, you know, um they were out of town at the moment, but they're like, it's really stressful, you know, because I bet it could be like you were saying, I mean, if you have to overhaul a lot of stuff like marketing papers and marketing things you already have planned and redo websites, websites, yeah, all that.
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: It's a lot, and you and it's a quick, quick thing.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: You know, you gotta do it fast because it's going on.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: So we'll keep everyone updated on that.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: But Elvis has you know, it's always been talk probably over the last like I'd say like five years about how you know Elvis the brand and everything used to be such a huge part of Las Vegas, but how it slowly started to kind of go away and how we needed to bring that back and keep that alive.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: And so, you know, this again would be another hit to that whole thing.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: It would.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: So as Dana mentioned, we'll let you know any updates, what happens as this, you know, league as these legal wranglings continue.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: But one thing we do know is that when people went to Elvis's shows, not only here in Las Vegas, around the world, people lost their minds.
- 8:53Sean McAllister: And Dana, you lost your mind at this big concert that you just went to over the weekend.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Listen, yes, I was born in 1975.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: So right around middle school, new kids on the block were exploding.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: And I was a huge new kids on the block fan.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: They were my they were my people.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: I had the new kids on the block pillowcase, the whole nine.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: Um, couldn't go to a concert of theirs when they actually were in the Rochester Buffalo area where I was grew up when they had finally made their way in that area.
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: And I was so bummed.
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: I remember I met my one girlfriend at the mall, and we were the two people who either didn't buy a ticket or couldn't get a ticket or whatever.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: So I was always bummed.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Years later, down the road, um, living in Las Vegas, I've been able to interview Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, I've done satellite interviews with Donnie Wahlberg.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: So it's all been a dream come true and still kind of unreal.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: But no matter what, even just interviewing them was amazing and and and great, but I can't explain it.
- 9:57Dayna Roselli: When you see them all together performing, that's just like another level of excitement and nostalgia and uh wait.
- 10:07Sean McAllister: So I didn't realize that you were actually living out a teenage dream.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: I texted my friend Mara and said, remember when and we always remember, and that's how we became close friends, actually.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: Because we were the sorrow of missing outside.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: Sorrow of missing new kids on the block.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: And she had gone to a Catholic school at the time and I had gone to public, so we knew of each other because of like CYO cheerleading, but we weren't like super close friends yet.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: That is what hooked our friendship.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: We are still friends to this day.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: She lives in New York City.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: I live here.
- 10:37Sean McAllister: So you bonded over the FOMO.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: Over the FOMO of new kids.
- 10:43Dayna Roselli: And then look at that, look at me now, right?
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: So I went to the mixtape tour.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: Well, first of all, I went to like one, two, like two other concerts before that with new kids.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: I've seen Jordan Knight um do solo.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: I've seen Joey McIntyre do solo shows.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: He just did the one with Debbie Gibson.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: We went to that.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: We actually met Joey, uh, saw Joe Joey and revisited with him.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: But um, my point is the mixtape tour is one of the it's just it's a really fun tour that they do because they bring on other acts from that kind of generation.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: So this show had Salt and Peppa and Vogue and Rick Astley with on the tour.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: Amazing.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: It was amazing.
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: But when new kids, I mean, we were all like, I was with two friends and some other friends that were in the audience who were texting.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: We're like, this is the best show ever.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: You know, every song, the outfit changes, the nostalgia.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: I mean, Jordan even did this thing where he he always did this one song where he stands in front of the microphone and a fan goes, and his white shirt is unbuttoned and it flows in the wind.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: And he did that.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Like he knows that we want it.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: That's what people want, right?
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, they came out with step by step, you know, and you know, hanging tough and the bright stuff.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: They worked the audience.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: I mean, the streamers were going, the uh dressing room change cam was up in the corner when they would go change their outfits.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: You could get a little sneak peek into the dressing room.
- 12:07Sean McAllister: So you saw them changing?
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: Well, I mean, with shirts off, yes.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: But they look great, first of all.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: They sounded great.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: It was a blast.
- 12:16Dayna Roselli: And Vogue really blew my mind.
- 12:18Dayna Roselli: They were incredible.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: They sounded good, they looked great.
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: And again, forgot how many songs and hits that they had.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: We knew everything, and you know every word.
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: And then salt and pepper, you know, push it and shoop and all of it, you know.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: It was just great.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: Rick Astley did his famous song, Never Gonna Get You.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Never gonna get you.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: Actually, you know what?
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: I think I have a clip of that.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Hold on.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: So that was fun to have Rick there too as part of the tour, but it was a blast, Sean.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: I just could go on and on and I'll leave it there because um they're doing a huge tour all around the country.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: I actually woke up the next day and went, okay, like, is there anywhere else like close enough where I could like go back?
- 13:28Sean McAllister: That's so funny.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: They're in Buffalo, New York in July.
- 13:32Dayna Roselli: So maybe I'll go visit the parents and swing by the mixtape.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: No, it's great.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: My two friends um that I went with, Melissa and Christine, we both said that was like the best night ever.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: It was so much fun.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: Good for them, though, for just you know what, letting it ride, giving the people what they want.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: Absolutely.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: And they'll be in their hometown of Boston for like three nights, I think, uh, this summer, too, which will be wild.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: That that will be.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: So well, good.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: I'm glad that you got to go, live your your teenage fantasy and have such a great night.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: This month, this May was my month, right?
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: Between Top Gun and New Kings.
- 14:09Sean McAllister: I know.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: I don't know what else there is to look forward to in life.
- 14:13Sean McAllister: I mean, actually, my husband Shane and I were just talking about that, and he was like, What what could possibly be next on uh Dana's like entertainment bucket list?
- 14:22Sean McAllister: He was like, What if they made a movie about dots pretzels?
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, I do love me some dots pretzels.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: The other day I was at the store and I avoided it because I can't do it.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: I finished the whole bag in two days.
- 14:36Sean McAllister: I know, I know.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: I do the same thing.
- 14:38Sean McAllister: So hard.
- 14:39Sean McAllister: Oh, if they're so good.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: But if there was a dots pretzels like factory um documentary, I might watch it.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: Anyway, all right.
- 14:49Dayna Roselli: Well, moving on.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: Uh, we talked all about Cirque's new show, Mad Apple, last week, and just from what we've heard, the reviews seem to be coming in, and people feel like most people feel like we did.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: It's a great show.
- 15:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, people say, you know, this is a great departure for Cirque du Soleil.
- 15:05Sean McAllister: Everybody has been enjoying the show so much, just a great vibe, high energy.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: So again, if you get the chance, go see Mad Apple by Cirque du Soleil.
- 15:15Sean McAllister: It's over at New York, New York Hotel and Casino right there on the strip.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: And we interviewed a lot of performers that were brought in just for this show, like from New York City and Ireland.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: But I wanted to mention there are a lot of local, uh a lot of our local entertainers are in the show as well.
- 15:30SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: Um, my friend Isaac is in there, he does uh trumpet.
- 15:34Dayna Roselli: Um so there's lots of people also used in the show that that lived here and have worked in other shows, so I I'm glad to see that.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: But another show we went to.
- 15:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's called Rouge, and this is a very sexy show over at the Strat.
- 15:48Sean McAllister: It's by the same producers as Wow.
- 15:52Sean McAllister: That's a show over at the Rio, and Extravaganza, which is on stage over at Bally's in the old Jubilee showroom.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: Which we have not seen yet.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: I don't know how that's possible.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: We need to get to that.
- 16:03Sean McAllister: But I mean it looks stunning.
- 16:05Sean McAllister: It looks great.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: Uh, but Rouge is kind of a late night cabaret style show.
- 16:10Sean McAllister: And as soon as we went over there, Dana, I it just started giving me like Moulin Rouge vibes.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: And I said that to one of the show's producers.
- 16:21Sean McAllister: I was like, you know, I'm really getting Moulin Rouge vibes because the actors go out and they mingle with the crowd.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: The red color.
- 16:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they were red outfits.
- 16:30Sean McAllister: And he looked at me, he was like, Are you kidding me, Sean?
- 16:34Sean McAllister: Where do you think we got Rouge from?
- 16:36Sean McAllister: And I was like, Oh, well, duh.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: I'm not always so quick on the uptake.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love that.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: Makes sense though, right?
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: Uh it was a great show.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: You and I uh went on the grand opening night.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: The show had been open for a little while, but then they always see how it goes, make some tweaks, and then they do like a big grand opening.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: So it was really fun, the whole pomp and circumstance.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: And uh when it started, it gave me a little absinthe vibe.
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they're funny.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: So it's a sexy, you know, there are very it's a topless show.
- 17:11Sean McAllister: The men and women are topless.
- 17:13Sean McAllister: The guys they don't go bottomless, but you know, they get down into their skivvies a little bit too.
- 17:20Sean McAllister: Um but the hosts of the show are really funny.
- 17:24Sean McAllister: They are and it's a good mix of it's a good mix of different entertainment stylings.
- 17:30Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: That is an adult cabaret type of show.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: It's sexy, it's funny, and it's also full of talent because some of the acts that they did were incredible.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of that well, like we're saying it's kind of not like Absinthe, but you know, Absinthe, the same thing.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: Funny, little risque, and then really talented acts.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: So similar, but not the same.
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: But you know, the creator said that he really wanted to do something that featured men and women.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of shows that are catered toward women, a lot of shows catered to men in town, but what about something that kind of brings it all together?
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Nowadays you can see either a male review or a female review.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: I wanted to put something together, male and female together, uh, because I think that that that we should have something like that.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: There was the beautiful show uh Zumanity, unfortunately it closed, and I think there is a space now for a show like that, and I wanted to go to go uh you know to the edge, you know, everything very artistically, but still to be very, very sexy.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm trying to to to have the show stand up uh for being the sexiest show in Vegas.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Uh I really wanted to uh to have people go see the show and get inspired for it, you know, run to their room, happy I wanted to have um you know, artists from all over the world to bring each and every one that has his own flavor and all of them are top-notch in their profession.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: Acrobats from from the best shows in the world, you know, they they they do their artistic uh uh thing and and uh and or they do it in a very sexy way, I would say.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: And this time they take it uh even more.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, all of them are are topless, doesn't matter if it's men or women.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: And since it's done it's a in a very artistic way, uh they all feel very comfortable.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: And I wanted them all to be uh in that situation, not to say only only a few dancers are topless and the artists are the acts are not.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: No.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: We wanted everybody to feel together, it's like a party, it's like a it's like a celebration.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: It's a celebration of the body.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Um we just think about it as a wonderful thing.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we uh we forget to think about it as uh one of the beautiful things in the world.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: And the costumes throughout the show, like the they kind of live out um some traditional fantasies that that people might have.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: You know, the locker room scene, the you know, the husband and wife in bed, and uh, you know, the whips and chains.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: But there was also like kind of a Bridgerton themed section of the show, which I thought was really creative because if there's something on Netflix right now that gets people all hot and bothered, it's that Bridgerton family.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: True, true.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I felt like the show was pretty um, even when you're saying all that, someone might be think thinking like, ah, I don't know if that's but like it was tastefully done to it really was.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: It wasn't like raunchy, it was sexy, but not raunchy.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: And like we said, it was entertaining in the fact that too, there were very talented acts.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: There were some things that they were flipping and doing all, and I was like, how are they doing this?
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, really, really talented.
- 20:48Sean McAllister: So again, you can see Rouge now playing over at the Strat.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: Uh, we've had some uh restaurant openings here in town too, Dana.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Crossroads Kitchen opened over at Resorts World and now officially open.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: You and I had gone to lunch in the same spot when Resorts World opened.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: Well, I guess it didn't work out, and they revamped it and remodeled and reopened it, and it's now Crossroads Kitchen.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: And then there's also Crossroad Burgers, both open now officially, and apparently it's uh plant-based, right?
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: Which is very popular right now.
- 21:25Sean McAllister: It is.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: And I did see somebody who went uh and tried out some of the food say that they could not get enough of the plant-based Italian sausage sandwich.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: Interesting, okay.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: And that you could not tell any difference, it was delicious, and uh I mean Italian sausage is kind of hard to recreate.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's if you're not having Italian sausage.
- 21:53Sean McAllister: So the fact that they accomplished that, and I heard other people saying the same things about other you know.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: of their plant-based products products.
- 22:02Sean McAllister: Good, really.
- 22:03Sean McAllister: It tastes amazing.
- 22:04Sean McAllister: The meat, in quotes.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: Is delicious.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: Well, and I don't know if I'm saying the chef's name, but it's Tall Ronin.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: Um apparently so there the two locations, just to explain Crossroads Kitchen is basically mirroring his original location in Los Angeles, which is this plant-based institution that people love.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: And then CB Crossroads Burgers is a like a fast casual plant-based restaurant.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: So just to kind of explain what that is, bringing them both together and apparently, you know, this is just another addition to Resorts World and they're already great restaurants that they keep adding, they keep opening stuff over there and I'm glad to see that.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Because I know when it first opened there were a lot of people concerned that there like wasn't a lot of choice over there.
- 22:50Sean McAllister: Right.
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: But it's been great.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: They've, you know, they had Wally's now they have Carver Steak which you went to you know they have the pizza place which is amazing.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: They already have many Asian fusion restaurants in there.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: Um they have an Italian restaurant a um Chinese restaurant that I went to now Crossroads and they have the whole Asian market.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: And so I mean there's a lot of choice there now.
- 23:13Sean McAllister: Yeah and I think Crossroads really has is on the forefront of kind of elevating the plant-based uh dining concept.
- 23:22Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 23:22Sean McAllister: So yeah I'm glad I'm glad it's over there at uh Resorts World and really offering an option that we haven't seen at other uh resort properties on the strip.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: No, when we went to Mott 32 they unveiled a plant-based menu section.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: Right, but this sounds like it centers all around that.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: So hey the Jonas brothers are uh coming to MGM Grand and what I mean by that the Jonas family really I should say there's the brothers but this is a new restaurant concept um called Nelly's Southern Kitchen and it's set to open at MGM Grand this month and this is completely different because we're not talking plant based no this is not fried chicken based this is straight up Southern comfort food.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah so whole totally different but you know the Jonas brothers are coming in for a few shows uh residency shows over at Park MGM so the grand opening of this restaurant taking place this weekend and I have a feeling the Jonas brothers and Jonas family will be there.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: So we're excited Nelly's Kitchen now part of the Las Vegas culinary landscape as well.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: And this is located just in case you're interested in the district which is opposite the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: So that'll be a good spot for that.
- 24:37Sean McAllister: Well switching gears uh the World Series of poker is getting underway here in Las Vegas a new home for the World Series of Poker this time around.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah I mean it's the richest most prestigious and longest running poker series.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: And this time it's moving to the Las Vegas Strip.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: It's been at the Rio for many many years which is just off the strip but for the first time the World Series of poker is going to be at Baileys in Paris, Las Vegas and kicked off May 31st goes through July 20th.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: Lots of exciting activities going on there.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: They say it's going to, you know I think they're going to kind of really do it up because it's the first time it's been on the strip in a very long time.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: If it ever was before I'm not even sure if it ever was or but so we didn't research that folks.
- 25:24Dayna Roselli: But it's been at the Rio for a very very long time.
- 25:26Sean McAllister: Yes it has the the Rio is a long time home of the World Series of poker.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: But yeah it's going to be going on through July 20th so there's going to be lots of updates as play you know begins, continues day in, day out and as people progress through the the ranks of that uh poker tournament.
- 25:44Sean McAllister: So good luck to everybody playing we know there can only be one winner.
- 25:49Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 25:49Sean McAllister: But good luck to all.
- 25:51Sean McAllister: Yeah.

- 27:40Sean McAllister: Also their uh marquee signs on the side of their buildings are going to be turned from the normally they twinkle and like the white lights.
- 27:49Sean McAllister: Right.
- 27:49Sean McAllister: When they're lit up um they're gonna go rainbow.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: Oh that's cool.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: On June 1st really cool look.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: I bet the Sahara will do that too.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: I live next door to them they're always changing up the signs.
- 27:57Sean McAllister: Yes and the high roller will probably be all rainbow too um but some uh a a notable thing over at the Venetian over at Black Tap um they have some over the top they do food creations.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: If you want to go get some really cool Instagram videos and pictures go order some stuff from Black Tap craft burgers and beer they've got some really cool presentation over there.

- 29:31Sean McAllister: Yeah and tag us too tag Vegas Revealed in any of the uh pictures that you take down on the strip of any pride related items yeah and Carlos Carlos Bakery he always has uh the rainbow cake over there so he does and there's a lot of side note there have been a lot of Carlos bakery vending machines popping up not only at the Venetian I mean all over Las Vegas we were just at the um the South outlet mall on Las Vegas Boulevard and there was a Carlos Bakery vending machine in there with giant slices of the rainbow cake.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: Oh that's so cool.
- 30:10Sean McAllister: So you can get fresh slices of the cake boss's cakes in a bunch of places around town.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: I mean that's a great idea because there's always a line at Carlos Bakery.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: There is to skip the line go to the vending machine.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: Exactly I like that that's another tip.
- 30:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah there you go that's true like a two in one well speaking of Pride Month the little Vegas chapel is unveiling their new ceremony venue so we love when our wedding chapels make additions, do new things and kind of kicking it off with a special commitment ceremony honoring Frank Marino and his partner Alex Scheckner who we know very well Frank Marino is in the show Legends has uh been the longest running really headliner in Las Vegas for many many years impersonating um Joan Rivers and running the show and and doing the the comedy in divas um show producer also comedian I mean you name it.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: So Frank is fabulous.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: We've talked about him many many times but yeah this commitment ceremony is taking place but what's going to make it really cool is it's going to be officiated by our mayor Carolyn Goodman.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: Oh yeah so that's gonna be a really cool thing they're doing and again it's the Little Vegas chapel that is unveiling its new ceremony venue.
- 31:28Sean McAllister: I love that.

- 31:40Dayna Roselli: You know we like when it's a month full of rainbows because we don't get a lot of rain here which means we don't get a lot of rainbows.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: So now we have a full month of rainbows but maybe if you know the heavens above could bring some real rain we could really use it.
- 31:53Sean McAllister: That would be so nice it's getting so dry here.
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: It really is I'm like holy cow I mean I need to like own stock in lotion.
- 32:02Sean McAllister: I know well it's been dry and windy so it's been when the wind kicks up it just gets the dust gets in the air and yeah.
