- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to The Mark Simone Show, WOR. Hey, I'm
- 0:04Speaker 1: going to chat on Israel. There's no word yet, no winner.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Netanyahu is slightly ahead, slightly ahead right now in Israel.
- 0:09Speaker 1: There is no real answer here. It looked like Netanyahu
- 0:29Speaker 1: was going to be defeated, but he has pulled ahead.
- 0:33Speaker 1: He got almost 80% of the vote in. He has
- 0:35Speaker 1: a very slight lead. Looks like he will most likely
- 0:39Speaker 1: hold on to it, but it's not certain. He can't
- 0:41Speaker 1: declare a winner yet in Israel. Now, in the U.S.,
- 0:46Speaker 1: our election is next week. It's six days from now.
- 0:51Speaker 1: The most important one for us right here is getting
- 0:53Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman elected governor. That could really straighten out a
- 0:56Speaker 1: lot of things that could keep a lid. Also, on
- 0:59Speaker 1: the Mamdani craziness, they got all kinds of plans. If
- 1:03Speaker 1: the Democrats win, they got all kinds of plans. As
- 1:07Speaker 1: Blakeman has pointed out, if Hochul wins, she is planning
- 1:11Speaker 1: to bring the congestion pricing to everybody. Right now, it's
- 1:16Speaker 1: Midtown Manhattan. You've got to pay a $ 9 congestion pricing
- 1:20Speaker 1: fee every time you enter Manhattan. If Hochul wins, she's
- 1:25Speaker 1: planning to do it everywhere. Brooklyn, Flatbush Avenue will be
- 1:28Speaker 1: congestion pricing. Queens Boulevard, Northern Boulevard, they'll be congestion pricing.
- 1:34Speaker 1: If you live in the Bronx, Tremont Avenue, Staten Island,
- 1:37Speaker 1: the Staten Island Expressway, you're going to have congestion pricing.
- 1:41Speaker 1: They're also going to bring it to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Binghamton,
- 1:47Speaker 1: It's an idiotic idea. It is the worst thing in
- 1:51Speaker 1: the world. She is claiming the MTA needs the money.
- 1:55Speaker 1: That's absolutely false. The MTA budget is double what it
- 1:59Speaker 1: should be. If they would get the cost under control,
- 2:02Speaker 1: stop the waste, stop the bloat, stop the fraud, they'd
- 2:06Speaker 1: have more than enough money. Also, if Hochul wins, apparently
- 2:13Speaker 1: she's planning to raise taxes, just regular old taxes. Mamdani
- 2:18Speaker 1: is out there campaigning with her. It looks like they've
- 2:22Speaker 1: made some kind of deal. You remember last year, she
- 2:26Speaker 1: had to bail Mamdani out with the budget, like send
- 2:29Speaker 1: him about $ 8 billion or something. So apparently the deal
- 2:33Speaker 1: is if Hochul wins with Mamdani's support and endorsement, she'll
- 2:40Speaker 1: raise taxes to pay for Mamdani's socialist agenda. There'll be
- 2:45Speaker 1: an increase in income tax, property tax, higher taxes on farms,
- 2:49Speaker 1: on small businesses, massive inheritance tax. Mamdani wants this because
- 2:57Speaker 1: he wants to pay for his socialist nonsense. He wants
- 2:59Speaker 1: to pay fortune for illegals, take care of illegal migrants
- 3:05Speaker 1: and all their bills and all of that. Oh, I'm
- 3:10Speaker 1: getting an important text. Look at that. Early voting is
- 3:13Speaker 1: ending soon. Make sure you vote early. All right, well,
- 3:16Speaker 1: that's a good message. Do the early voting. You can
- 3:18Speaker 1: do it all this week. You can do it over
- 3:20Speaker 1: the weekend. If you do early voting, there's no line.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You just breeze right through. It'll be much, much easier.
- 3:27Speaker 1: But Hochul, with her nonsense. He must like a lot
- 3:30Speaker 1: of traffic, higher accidents, slower response time, less money to
- 3:35Speaker 1: fund the MTA and Long Island Railroad, and not really
- 3:38Speaker 1: care about congestion. Yeah, the congestion pricing has not brought
- 3:41Speaker 1: down traffic. Has not increased response time. She's produced a
- 3:46Speaker 1: couple of fake studies that mean nothing. Speaking of which,
- 3:49Speaker 1: the fake polls are coming out left and right right now,
- 3:53Speaker 1: yesterday and today. College polls, media polls, totally rigged. If
- 3:58Speaker 1: we have experts look into the metrics, the sampling is
- 4:02Speaker 1: totally rigged. The most biased polls. You know, the funniest
- 4:06Speaker 1: thing is in most of these polls, they totally, totally
- 4:10Speaker 1: contradict each other. So it's just the most rigged polling
- 4:16Speaker 1: in the world. Don't take any of it seriously. Everything
- 4:20Speaker 1: is rigged nowadays. These polls are totally fraudulent. Here's a
- 4:25Speaker 1: new study that just came out. News sites, you know,
- 4:27Speaker 1: like Apple News. You got your iPhone, you got your computer,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and it says Apple News. Bring you all the news. Well, okay.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Seems pretty easy. Sign up for Apple News. A recent
- 4:38Speaker 1: study by Media Research showed that Apple News... pushed 84
- 4:45Speaker 1: negative headlines about the GOP, zero positive. It is the
- 4:50Speaker 1: most biased, slanted news. They analyzed Apple's top 20 stories
- 4:56Speaker 1: every day for a week. It was like 84% anti-GOP,
- 5:01Speaker 1: the most slanted news in the world. And millions of
- 5:07Speaker 1: voters used this stupid Apple news. Do not rely on it.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yahoo News, Microsoft News, Seemed to be just as bad.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It is the most slanted, biased news in the world. Yesterday,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you remember we were talking about Dan Rather? He's really
- 5:21Speaker 1: the father of fake news. Now, in the good old
- 5:25Speaker 1: days of CBS, I mean the heyday, you know, the
- 5:28Speaker 1: Walter Cronkite days or even the Edward R. Murrow, they
- 5:31Speaker 1: were all kind of left-wing guys. They were Democrats. They
- 5:34Speaker 1: were liberals, which is fine. But Cronkite and the others,
- 5:39Speaker 1: they didn't let it. effect their on-air work. Oh, once
- 5:42Speaker 1: in a while you could tell it was a little slightly,
- 5:46Speaker 1: the wording was a little liberal. A little, just a hair,
- 5:50Speaker 1: just a hair. But that's all it ever was. Then
- 5:53Speaker 1: Dan Rather takes over the evening news and he decides
- 5:57Speaker 1: to weaponize it. He decides to weaponize CBS News. He'll
- 6:01Speaker 1: use it to change public opinion. You're just supposed to
- 6:04Speaker 1: report the news. But he starts slanting it and slanting
- 6:08Speaker 1: it and slanting it. I think the first big example,
- 6:11Speaker 1: remember when it was George H.W. Bush, Bush seniors running
- 6:15Speaker 1: against Bill Clinton. So Rather started doing what they're doing now,
- 6:20Speaker 1: try to make it look like the economy stinks. Our
- 6:23Speaker 1: economy right now is booming. Gas prices are a little high,
- 6:26Speaker 1: but otherwise, economy is booming right now. So Rather launched
- 6:31Speaker 1: a series every night. The CBS Evening News would open
- 6:35Speaker 1: with a couple of headlines and then it would say,
- 6:38Speaker 1: Also coming up, our special feature, Economy in Crisis. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: then every night they would do this special feature. This
- 6:45Speaker 1: dramatic music would come on and it would say, Economy
- 6:48Speaker 1: in Crisis. And then they would tell you how bad
- 6:50Speaker 1: the economy was. It wasn't true. They would just do
- 6:53Speaker 1: this feature every night leading up to the election. Then
- 6:57Speaker 1: election night, Bill Clinton got elected. Wow. The next day,
- 7:01Speaker 1: there was no CBS News feature, Economy in Crisis. It
- 7:05Speaker 1: went away just like that. They dropped it. and Rather
- 7:08Speaker 1: started pulling crap like that. He started slanting, biasing, rigging, faking.
- 7:16Speaker 1: It got to the point where he was just into
- 7:18Speaker 1: out and out fake news. Remember, by the time it
- 7:21Speaker 1: was George W. Bush, they made up a whole fake
- 7:24Speaker 1: story that he had gone AWOL in the National Guard.
- 7:27Speaker 1: There was no truth to this. It was a total
- 7:30Speaker 1: fiction from Dan Rather. But at one point, he decided
- 7:33Speaker 1: he would do a full piece on it. He even
- 7:36Speaker 1: put it on 60 Minutes on the CBS Evening News
- 7:38Speaker 1: where he had these documents from back then, from the
- 7:43Speaker 1: commanding office, documents proving that he had gone AWOL. Well,
- 7:49Speaker 1: it turned out the documents were fake. By then it was,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you know, we were in the internet digital world and
- 7:58Speaker 1: all these online guys looked at the documents and they
- 8:03Speaker 1: noticed The documents were typed in a font that did
- 8:07Speaker 1: not exist back then. There was no such font back
- 8:13Speaker 1: in whenever this was supposed to be in the 90s.
- 8:16Speaker 1: And then they examined the documents. They found out they
- 8:18Speaker 1: were totally complete forgeries. And at the time in the
- 8:26Speaker 1: National Guard, Bush had a commanding officer. And apparently this
- 8:30Speaker 1: commanding officer was telling people Bush never went AWOL. In fact,
- 8:35Speaker 1: he was a pilot. He was one of the best
- 8:37Speaker 1: pilots I ever saw in the Air National Guard. He
- 8:39Speaker 1: was one of my finest. Well, they wouldn't put this
- 8:42Speaker 1: guy on the air. They wouldn't put him on the air,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but rather found some secretary that had worked there back
- 8:47Speaker 1: then who said, well, the documents may be false, but
- 8:52Speaker 1: that's what this guy really would have said if they
- 8:55Speaker 1: found this officer. So they put her on the air. Now,
- 8:59Speaker 1: the guy had died, so they couldn't put him on.
- 9:01Speaker 1: But his wife said, no, he never would have written
- 9:03Speaker 1: a document. They wouldn't put her on the air. So
- 9:06Speaker 1: it was total fabricated fake news from Rather. It got
- 9:10Speaker 1: really ugly. It got to the point where even CBS
- 9:13Speaker 1: had to launch an investigation. And they brought in legitimate
- 9:18Speaker 1: investigators from the outside, real serious investigators. They investigated. You
- 9:23Speaker 1: can read the report online. They found out that Rather
- 9:26Speaker 1: had totally faked the whole story using fake, forged documents.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And the biggest, most famous anchor in television, Dan Rather,
- 9:37Speaker 1: had to be fired. CBS News fired him. He left
- 9:41Speaker 1: CBS in absolute, total disgrace. And of course, you haven't
- 9:48Speaker 1: heard from him since. He's, oh, once in a while
- 9:51Speaker 1: he appears on something. There's a great publication called Barrett Media.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It's like the best You should read Barrett every day.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It covers radio, but it covers everything else. So they,
- 10:02Speaker 1: I don't know, this is what Dan Rather's up to now.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Barrett sits down with Dan Rather, who talks about how
- 10:10Speaker 1: damaged CBS News is now. So this, he's about 95 now,
- 10:15Speaker 1: Dan Rather. He's an old, old, and I like Dan Rather.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I mean, Parsley's a nice guy, but the founding father
- 10:23Speaker 1: of fake news, very bitter now. So they interview him
- 10:28Speaker 1: and he said, I don't know if CBS News can
- 10:29Speaker 1: even be fixed. It's so damaged. What the damage was,
- 10:33Speaker 1: 60 Minutes was faking pieces and using deceptive editing and
- 10:40Speaker 1: all kinds of crap. They'd been sued over it. The
- 10:41Speaker 1: Trump administration went after him. They had to settle for
- 10:44Speaker 1: like 20 million. I mean, it's just terrible. So this
- 10:47Speaker 1: new CBS News had Barry Weiss is cleaning it up,
- 10:50Speaker 1: you know, trying to make it legitimate. So Rather interprets
- 10:54Speaker 1: this as very damaged. I don't know if it can
- 10:56Speaker 1: even be repaired, it's so damaged. So he's still out there,
- 11:01Speaker 1: this crabby old Dan Rather, fighting for his fake news
- 11:06Speaker 1: to continue. You know how they banned the horse from
- 11:09Speaker 1: Central Park, the horse and carriage, they're going to get
- 11:12Speaker 1: banned because somebody got killed by a horse and carriage.
- 11:17Speaker 1: One death in 100 years. They're banning the horses and carriages.
- 11:22Speaker 1: E-bikes have had 133 deaths just in the last couple
- 11:25Speaker 1: of years. They're not banning those. Lithium batteries. There was
- 11:29Speaker 1: another one that exploded yesterday in one of the NYCHA houses.
- 11:32Speaker 1: The lithium battery exploded, killing somebody. This is not the
- 11:37Speaker 1: first time. These e-bikes, e-cars, they've got these lithium batteries,
- 11:42Speaker 1: the most dangerous things in the world. They explode. A
- 11:46Speaker 1: lot of people have been killed I don't see the
- 11:48Speaker 1: city council banning the lithium batteries anywhere in New York.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Where's the ban on that? The horse is one death
- 11:56Speaker 1: in 100 years. That was it. So it's unbelievable. Hey,
- 12:04Speaker 1: also Barrett, Barrett Media, you should read it every day.
- 12:06Speaker 1: There's an article, interview with Jesse Kelly, who said talk
- 12:11Speaker 1: radio better realize the Trump era is coming to an
- 12:14Speaker 1: end pretty soon in two years. And, you know, he's
- 12:20Speaker 1: got a point there. You know, the day before Trump
- 12:23Speaker 1: announced in 2015, talk radio was a whole different world.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Once Trump got in the race, boy, he became the
- 12:31Speaker 1: lead story every day. It's been that way for 11 years.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And it's been incredible for talk radio. Talk radio has
- 12:38Speaker 1: 63 million listeners every day. It's exciting with Trump. You
- 12:43Speaker 1: don't love him or hate him. It's exciting stuff every
- 12:45Speaker 1: day for talk radio. Jesse Kelly pointing out there's only
- 12:48Speaker 1: two years left of Trump. Now, when he gets out
- 12:52Speaker 1: of office, he could still be, you know, saying all
- 12:55Speaker 1: kinds of things, but it won't be the same because
- 12:57Speaker 1: he won't be in office, in power. And by then
- 13:00Speaker 1: he'll be 82, and he's got to slow down at
- 13:03Speaker 1: some point. So Jesse Kelly's saying talk radio has to pivot.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I mean, he's got a point there. We can't cover J.D.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Vance all day. That's not that exciting. Marco Rubio is brilliant.
- 13:15Speaker 1: He's great, but it's not exciting talk radio every day.
- 13:20Speaker 1: So I don't know. But they did this years ago
- 13:22Speaker 1: when Rush Limbaugh became the biggest thing in the world,
- 13:25Speaker 1: yelling and screaming at Bill Clinton. And then when Bill
- 13:30Speaker 1: Clinton left, I remember every trade magazine saying, well, that's
- 13:35Speaker 1: it for talk radio. There'd be nothing to talk about
- 13:36Speaker 1: without Bill Clinton. Well, Rush did even better. It's always
- 13:41Speaker 1: going to work. Yeah, he's right. You do have to
- 13:43Speaker 1: pivot a little. But it'll always, always, always, there'll always
- 13:47Speaker 1: be stuff for talk radio. Hey, we have a great sponsor.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's PC Richard & Son. I just want to congratulate them.
- 13:55Speaker 1: PC Richard & Son is now celebrating 117 years in business.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm a big PC Richard & Son fan. I shop there.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I love that place. And they're really, it's a great
- 14:08Speaker 1: place to buy. And you can trust them on appliances, mattresses,
- 14:12Speaker 1: whatever it is. Five generations. One family has been running this.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And they're nice people. Greg Richard and the whole family. Hands-on.
- 14:20Speaker 1: They're in the stores. They're in the warehouses. It's such
