- 0:03Speaker 1: It's the Happy Families podcast. It's the podcast for.
- 0:07Speaker 2: The time poor parent who just wants answers Now.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Glennon Doyle has written I think three best sellers. Now.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Oprah loves her, Brene Brown loves her, the whole world
- 0:16Speaker 1: loves her. I'm the only one that doesn't.
- 0:18Speaker 3: And now here's the stars of our show, my mum
- 0:21Speaker 3: and dad.
- 0:22Speaker 1: This is so exciting. We're going to do something brand
- 0:24Speaker 1: new on the podcast that we've never done before. Look
- 0:26Speaker 1: at you, you're looking so excited about this. I'm pomped.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Well, we had a heavy start to the week, so
- 0:30Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to lightning things up.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You know what, it has been a pretty heavy start
- 0:35Speaker 1: to the week. We've talked about smacking our kids. We've
- 0:37Speaker 1: talked about school refusal or emotion avoidant school issues, we've
- 0:43Speaker 1: talked about parental burnout. And today we're going to completely
- 0:47Speaker 1: turn this on its head and go in a one
- 0:49Speaker 1: hundred percent different direction. I'm so excited. Let's do it that.
- 0:52Speaker 1: By the way, I'm justin you're Clytie. I am the
- 0:54Speaker 1: parenting expert on Jellen Nine's Parental Guidance and the host
- 0:58Speaker 1: of the number one podcast in Australian Parenting and Family
- 1:00Speaker 1: The Happy Families Podcast. Thanks so much for listening. You're Kylie,
- 1:02Speaker 1: my wife, Mudworth six kids. Today we're going to call
- 1:05Speaker 1: this book club. It's not really book club as such,
- 1:07Speaker 1: but you and I are both avid readers. I read
- 1:10Speaker 1: on average something like forty to fifty books a year
- 1:13Speaker 1: in addition to writing them and doing all the other
- 1:15Speaker 1: stuff that I do. I just love reading books.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I have joked a lot about the fact that I
- 1:20Speaker 3: haven't had the privilege of reading as many books as
- 1:23Speaker 3: you have.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But I don't have a life of.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Luxury comes I do wake up at four thirty in
- 1:28Speaker 1: the morning to get it all done. But whatever, that's fine,
- 1:31Speaker 1: live in the life.
- 1:32Speaker 2: But that's not true at all.
- 1:33Speaker 3: So over the last couple of years I have actually
- 1:35Speaker 3: made a really conscious effort to make book reading a
- 1:40Speaker 3: huge part of my life.
- 1:40Speaker 1: There is so much joy to be found in books.
- 1:43Speaker 3: And last year I set a goal to read twenty books.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Went last year, in the whole year, as in last year,
- 1:48Speaker 1: not this year.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Last year?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Okay, and did you I read twenty one?
- 1:51Speaker 2: Wow?
- 1:51Speaker 1: And what about this year?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Well, I'm sitting on seventeen.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Really, yes, get out of here. Yes, I guess how
- 1:57Speaker 1: many I've read?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Oh, thirty two?
- 1:59Speaker 1: No, I'm only up to twenty. But I have written
- 2:01Speaker 1: the book so far this year as well.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Oh, here we go.
- 2:04Speaker 1: So anyway, what we're going to do here, let's stop
- 2:06Speaker 1: bragging and boasting. Once a month, we're going to talk
- 2:08Speaker 1: about the latest books that we've read. And these are
- 2:11Speaker 1: going to be unfiltered reviews, books that we've loved and hated.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Like literally, I'm going to say what I really think,
- 2:17Speaker 1: which is kind of rough, right because I'm an author
- 2:19Speaker 1: and somebody might do the same thing to me one day.
- 2:21Speaker 1: They probably have. But we're going to share with you
- 2:24Speaker 1: the stuff that we're reading. How many do you want
- 2:25Speaker 1: to do, Kylie? Given that you've read, how many did
- 2:27Speaker 1: you say, seventeen books this year?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Seventeen?
- 2:29Speaker 3: I'm really impressed with myself. That's a huge, huge feat
- 2:33Speaker 3: for me.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is.
- 2:34Speaker 3: You know, going to bed at night instead of putting
- 2:36Speaker 3: Netflix on, I just pick up a book, read a
- 2:38Speaker 3: couple of pages, and I'm now choosing to get.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Up a little bit earlier than I would like, Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Just so I can get some reading, and because I'm
- 2:45Speaker 3: really enjoying the things that I'm reading.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well, let's just do let's do two. Okay, you do one?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Woo too, Let's just do two.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I've read seventeen. You only want me to do two.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Go give me your top five and then just do two.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Out of the fifteen I've read seventeen, you said I
- 3:01Speaker 3: was seventeen. Sorry, seventeen. Okay, out of the seventeen I've read,
- 3:04Speaker 3: my top five would be untamed by Glennon Doyle.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Oh really, not in any particular order.
- 3:12Speaker 1: You honestly like that.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Do you know? The funny thing is you read my
- 3:16Speaker 1: copy of it. I underlined and doggied so many pages
- 3:19Speaker 1: of that book. But you also came across the abusive
- 3:22Speaker 1: things that I said about what she was saying. I
- 3:24Speaker 1: would hate to be in her head. Seriously, she's a walking,
- 3:26Speaker 1: talking contradiction. But I think she's okay with that. So
- 3:30Speaker 1: much stuff, it was like, what are you even talking about?
- 3:32Speaker 1: So you loved it? I hated it.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Next Come as You Are by doctor Emily Nagasaki.
- 3:37Speaker 1: What was so funny then, wasn't the title of the book.
- 3:40Speaker 3: No, it's because I get her name wrong every time
- 3:42Speaker 3: I try to say it.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Okay, all right, it shouldn't be that hard, Okay, so
- 3:46Speaker 1: we can talk about that. What was the third one
- 3:47Speaker 1: that you wanted to say was one of the best
- 3:48Speaker 1: favorite atomic habits? Oh, James clear, brilliant stuff.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Yeah really, I think it actually would be probably close
- 3:55Speaker 3: to the top of the list when it comes to
- 3:57Speaker 3: self development.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I have just loved that.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Because you wanted to do your top five so far
- 4:01Speaker 1: this year, what are your next to?
- 4:02Speaker 2: The Anatomy of Peace.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Abonger, That's an old time favorite of mine.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I really really loved that, And I'm going to
- 4:09Speaker 3: stick a novel in there because I'd like to kind
- 4:12Speaker 3: of give myself a break every now and again. The
- 4:14Speaker 3: Book of Belongings by Sue monk Kid. I. Hands down,
- 4:17Speaker 3: I think it's probably the best novel I've read this year.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Well, okay, and you gave that to me, and I
- 4:21Speaker 1: enjoyed reading it as well. I wouldn't say it was
- 4:23Speaker 1: that good, but I wouldn't say it was good. So
- 4:25Speaker 1: now that you've done that, I feel inclined. I feel
- 4:27Speaker 1: compelled to do you know what, I'm not even going
- 4:29Speaker 1: to share my top five from the year. I'm just
- 4:31Speaker 1: going to share one book that I've loved this year
- 4:33Speaker 1: so far. In fact, I'm going to share the books
- 4:35Speaker 1: that I've literally just finished reading, the two books that
- 4:37Speaker 1: I've just finished reading, and tell you what I thought
- 4:39Speaker 1: of them, and then you can share your two okay two, yeah, okay.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm going to start with So, for parents who are
- 4:46Speaker 1: listening to this podcast with their children, the book that
- 4:48Speaker 1: I'm about to recommend is not the kind of book
- 4:51Speaker 1: that you want your children to hear about just yet.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You probably want to be able to introduce them to
- 4:55Speaker 1: this kind of topic at the appropriate age and in
- 4:58Speaker 1: the appropriate time, and not on a pod with me
- 5:00Speaker 1: talking about it. So I'm just going to give you
- 5:02Speaker 1: a second to press pause and find another podcast to
- 5:05Speaker 1: listen to, or go over to Spotify and listen to
- 5:06Speaker 1: a song or something like that. The book that I've
- 5:09Speaker 1: just closed and just finished reading that is definitely not
- 5:13Speaker 1: for children is called She Comes First, The Thinking Man's
- 5:17Speaker 1: Guide to Pleasuring a Woman by Ian Kerner. Ian Kerner
- 5:21Speaker 1: is a sex therapist, and he has given what would
- 5:25Speaker 1: be called the indispensable Guide to a particular act, a
- 5:31Speaker 1: particular intimate act. I'm just going to say it, because
- 5:34Speaker 1: no kids are listening out to the act of cunning Lingis,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and I thought as I picked up this book that
- 5:40Speaker 1: I probably I mean, I've got six kids, we've got
- 5:42Speaker 1: a wonderful relationship in all forms, and I didn't really
- 5:45Speaker 1: think I was going to learn a lot about it.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I didn't also know that it was about that specific act.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But it's a book that I think that any man
- 5:54Speaker 1: should read. Every man should read if he cares about
- 5:58Speaker 1: his wife's pleasure or his partner's pleasure. That's all I'm
- 6:02Speaker 1: going to say, because I don't think it would be
- 6:03Speaker 1: appropriate to talk any more about it. But let's just
- 6:05Speaker 1: say I'm a little bit torn in what I should
- 6:08Speaker 1: say here. I don't think that I was deficient in
- 6:11Speaker 1: any way, shape or form. But wow, boy, like I
- 6:15Speaker 1: think this is a game changer. I really think that
- 6:18Speaker 1: it's extraordinary. So the book is called come Oh sorry,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's called She Comes First by Ian Kerner, and it
- 6:26Speaker 1: gets a five star review from me. But make sure
- 6:29Speaker 1: that make sure that it's kept out of each of
- 6:32Speaker 1: the kids.
- 6:33Speaker 2: So it's not one of my top two.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I'm not going to talk about it, but Come as
- 6:36Speaker 3: you Are, I guess is a wonderful female equivalent.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Equivalent that's by Emily Nagasaki. Now that you read that
- 6:44Speaker 1: and loved it, and that is on my shelf, I'm
- 6:46Speaker 1: going to read it sometime in the next couple of months.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So that's high in my proori list because you're raved
- 6:50Speaker 1: about it, all.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Right, what's your number two?
- 6:52Speaker 1: My number two book is by Mikaelen de Cleff. Mikelen
- 6:55Speaker 1: is not a name that I've ever heard before. It's
- 6:58Speaker 1: like Michael with a W N on the end. Miquelen
- 7:01Speaker 1: de Cleff. She is an NPR reporter in the United States,
- 7:06Speaker 1: reports on science and the book is called Hunt Gather Parent,
- 7:11Speaker 1: Hunt Gather Parent, What Ancient Cultures can teach Us about
- 7:16Speaker 1: raising children. What I feel like I've read in this
- 7:20Speaker 1: book is an ancient history of all of the stuff
- 7:23Speaker 1: that I teach parents, but from the most practical, perfect
- 7:28Speaker 1: perspective that I've ever come across. I loved this book.
- 7:33Speaker 1: This may be one of the best parenting books that
- 7:35Speaker 1: I've ever read in my life. I'm completely in love
- 7:39Speaker 1: with it. Miqueen is going to be joining us on
- 7:41Speaker 1: the podcast in a couple of months. I've been able
- 7:42Speaker 1: to line that up because it's so good and I'm
- 7:45Speaker 1: actually going to be bringing her into our next Happy
- 7:47Speaker 1: Family's Summit, because what she has to say in this
- 7:50Speaker 1: book is extraordinary, It's exquisite, it's so well done, she's
- 7:55Speaker 1: so gifted in the way that she's written it. I'm
- 7:57Speaker 1: giving it five stars. Hunt gather Parent, Miquelen do Clef.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I could talk about it all day long. I've dogg
- 8:03Speaker 1: hed so many pages. I've colored in almost every page somewhere.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I can't wait for you to read it. I think
- 8:09Speaker 1: you're going to love it. I'm forcing it into your
- 8:10Speaker 1: Pilo on your bedside table. It's so done good. So
- 8:14Speaker 1: they are my two books for this month that I'm
- 8:15Speaker 1: reviewing and giving five stars to both of them. She
- 8:17Speaker 1: comes first by Ian Kerner and Miquelen do Clef Hunt
- 8:21Speaker 1: Gather Parent. I've got another handful of books that I
- 8:24Speaker 1: have flipped through in the last month, but I put
- 8:26Speaker 1: them away because they weren't that good. One of them
- 8:28Speaker 1: was Noised by Daniel Carnavan. He is an absolute legend
- 8:31Speaker 1: in the world of psychology. But this book didn't do
- 8:33Speaker 1: it for me at all, and I won't go into
- 8:35Speaker 1: the other ones. After the break, Let's find out what
- 8:37Speaker 1: you have selected as your best books of the last month.
- 8:46Speaker 1: If you have more than one child. There's a simple truth.
- 8:49Speaker 1: They're going to fight, they're going to compete, and they're
- 8:51Speaker 1: going to have relationship troubles. But the real secret isn't
- 8:55Speaker 1: how to stop the fighting, it's how to teach them kindness.
- 8:59Speaker 1: The Teaching Kid's Kindness webinar will help you to do
- 9:02Speaker 1: just that, but also help them build lifelong sibling bonds
- 9:06Speaker 1: that lead to lifelong friendships. Check out Teaching Kids Kindness
- 9:09Speaker 1: at happy families dot com dot au.
- 9:12Speaker 3: It's the Happy Families podcast, the podcast for the time
- 9:14Speaker 3: poor parent who just wants answers.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Now, I'll get the smile on your face. You're just going,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'm in heaven. I'm talking about books. This is great.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Well, I am in heaven, but I'm in pain because
- 9:23Speaker 3: I don't know which two to pick. I'm gonna start
- 9:25Speaker 3: with The Toomic Habits because this has actually been a
- 9:27Speaker 3: book that you've asked me to read a number of
- 9:29Speaker 3: times over the years, and I just haven't been in
- 9:31Speaker 3: the right headspace to pick it up.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I've got a highlight here. James Clear wrote this book
- 9:34Speaker 1: about I think it was three or four years ago,
- 9:36Speaker 1: now it could have even been five. He sold more
- 9:39Speaker 1: than five million copies of the book. I mean, this
- 9:41Speaker 1: book has just gone everywhere and it is so well written.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Anyone I've mentioned it too. While they may not have
- 9:49Speaker 3: read it, they've heard of it. It's just honestly, it's
- 9:52Speaker 3: been a game changer for me.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's one of those books that you can recommend to
- 9:57Speaker 1: everyone and know that it's going to make a difference
- 9:58Speaker 1: in their lives. It really belongs in the top five
- 10:02Speaker 1: book lists across no matter what you look at, it's
- 10:06Speaker 1: such a such a good book.
- 10:07Speaker 3: So I'm probably going to butcher it a little bit.
- 10:08Speaker 3: But he calls it atomic habits because just like atoms
- 10:12Speaker 3: are these teeny tiny things, the incremental, teeny tiny changes
- 10:17Speaker 3: we make to our habits have long lasting impact.
- 10:21Speaker 1: That's great.
- 10:22Speaker 2: And so he.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Actually says, I've memorized this quote, habits of the compound
- 10:26Speaker 1: interest of self improvement. I love that quote.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, So I'm going to quote him because he says
- 10:30Speaker 3: it's so easy to overestimate the importance of one defining
- 10:34Speaker 3: moment and underestimate the value of making small improvements on
- 10:37Speaker 3: a daily basis. He says success is the product of
- 10:40Speaker 3: daily habits, not once in a lifetime transformations.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, it's like that thing that I say in
- 10:45Speaker 1: my workshops, dieting for a day won't change your life.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think, you know, I look at the
- 10:50Speaker 3: different times in my life where I've wanted to make
- 10:53Speaker 3: change and I've tried to make that change in a day.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I want to run five k's. So going from couch
- 10:59Speaker 3: to five k's does take one day. But in my
- 11:01Speaker 3: mind it's.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Like, well I can do that.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, And I try, and I don't succeed, and I
- 11:06Speaker 3: lose motivation and give up. And so James Clear says,
- 11:11Speaker 3: if you're having trouble changing your habits, the problem isn't you,
- 11:14Speaker 3: The problem is your system. Bad habits repeat themselves again
- 11:18Speaker 3: and again. Not because you don't want to change, but
- 11:21Speaker 3: because you have the wrong system for change. You do
- 11:23Speaker 3: not rise to the level of your goals.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You full fall the level of your systems. I remember
- 11:27Speaker 1: that quote as well.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and so just one tiny thing that I changed.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I don't drink water in winter, Like I literally stopped
- 11:34Speaker 3: drinking and I just thought, I really need to change
- 11:37Speaker 3: this because I get to the end of the day,
- 11:39Speaker 3: I've got a massive headache. I just thought I'm going
- 11:42Speaker 3: to put a drink bottle on the kitchen bench. And
- 11:45Speaker 3: the change was that every time I walk into the kitchen,
- 11:48Speaker 3: which I do throughout the day four hundred times a
- 11:51Speaker 3: bajillion times, is I just have to drink. It wasn't
- 11:54Speaker 3: I have to drink a cup of water. It wasn't
- 11:56Speaker 3: you know any you know, quantity, quantity, It was just
- 11:59Speaker 3: I just have to pick that drink bottle up and drink.
- 12:02Speaker 3: That has literally gone from not drinking anything till the
- 12:04Speaker 3: end of the day when I'm have a headache to
- 12:07Speaker 3: drinking two and a half liters of water a day.
- 12:09Speaker 2: That one tiny thing, because.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's about the system. And that's what I loved when
- 12:13Speaker 1: I read the book. He basically says, stop trying to
- 12:16Speaker 1: create a habit and instead develop a system. Systems are
- 12:21Speaker 1: really really easy to develop, but once you get that
- 12:23Speaker 1: system sorted, it just becomes part of who you are
- 12:26Speaker 1: and what you do rather than relying on willpower. The
- 12:30Speaker 1: people who rely on willpower are the ones who fail.
- 12:32Speaker 1: The people who set up systems no longer have to
- 12:34Speaker 1: rely on willpower because it's part of the system.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and this idea of stacking habits, if I'm already
- 12:40Speaker 3: successful in something like walking into the kitchen twenty times
- 12:43Speaker 3: a day. Then I'm going to stack another habit that
- 12:46Speaker 3: I need to be better at with something I'm already doing.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Okay, so that was huge.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It's been a game changer.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like you're giving a really
- 12:54Speaker 1: thorough review of your books. I sort of said, read this,
- 12:56Speaker 1: it's about that. It's great, and you're quoting things I
- 12:59Speaker 1: need to do. I've got to improve my book review game. Obviously.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Well you can me too.
- 13:03Speaker 1: So that's James Cliff. You only get to mention too,
- 13:07Speaker 1: James Clear. Atomic Habits gets added to She Comes First
- 13:11Speaker 1: by Ian Kerner and Hunt Gather Parent by Miquelin du Cliff.
- 13:15Speaker 1: What's the second one?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Well, only because you hated it so much, I'm going
- 13:18Speaker 3: to gantage.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I can't believe that you're gonna go, oh gosh, it
- 13:22Speaker 1: was so good.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I actually wrote a couple of the quotes in my
- 13:26Speaker 3: journal and I pulled them out today and I was like, which.
- 13:28Speaker 2: One do I choose? Because I love them all.
- 13:31Speaker 3: But I really feel like this has had a huge
- 13:32Speaker 3: impact in my mindset and the way I see myself.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Okay, so just to be clear, Glennon Doyle has written
- 13:39Speaker 1: I think three best sellers. Now. Oprah loves her, Brene
- 13:41Speaker 1: Brown loves her, The whole world loves her. I'm the
- 13:43Speaker 1: only one that doesn't. Just doesn't gel with me. But
- 13:46Speaker 1: what's the quote?
- 13:48Speaker 3: The quote is If those who are not part of
- 13:51Speaker 3: the building of reality only consult reality for possibilities, reality
- 13:55Speaker 3: will never change. We will keep shuffling and competing for
- 13:59Speaker 3: a seat at their table instead of building our own tables.
- 14:02Speaker 3: We will keep banging our heads on their glass ceilings
- 14:04Speaker 3: instead of pitching our own huge tents outside. We will
- 14:08Speaker 3: remain caged by this world instead of taking our rightful
- 14:11Speaker 3: place as co creators of it.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Each of us was.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Born to bring forth something that has never existed, a
- 14:18Speaker 3: way of being, a family, an idea, art, a community,
- 14:22Speaker 3: something brand new. We are here to fully introduce ourselves,
- 14:26Speaker 3: to impose ourselves and ideas and thoughts and dreams onto
- 14:29Speaker 3: the world, leaving it changed forever by who we are
- 14:32Speaker 3: and what we bring forth from our depths.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 1: See, it doesn't do it for me. I just think
- 14:36Speaker 1: she's selfish, I think think that she's narcissistic. Didn't work
- 14:39Speaker 1: for me, But I reckon somebody heard you read that
- 14:42Speaker 1: and think I thought, oh my goodness, I was so good.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Well, I'm sure that they did, because it was fantastic.
- 14:47Speaker 3: And what I love about it is in an age
- 14:51Speaker 3: of information where we just have so much at our fingertips,
- 14:57Speaker 3: whether it be in the parenting sphere or newt trition
- 15:00Speaker 3: or you know, medical or well being, there is so
- 15:04Speaker 3: much available to us and it can be so hard
- 15:07Speaker 3: at times to kind of navigate that space to find
- 15:09Speaker 3: what's true for you. And when I think about the
- 15:13Speaker 3: way I want to be, I don't want to be
- 15:15Speaker 3: like somebody else. I want to be my own version
- 15:18Speaker 3: of me and the family that I raise. I want
- 15:21Speaker 3: that to be the family that feels intuitive to me.
- 15:25Speaker 3: So as you and I share these parenting strategies and
- 15:29Speaker 3: tips to help families be happier, they've come about because
- 15:33Speaker 3: we have worked through a process to find things that
- 15:37Speaker 3: fit us. And as people listen and hear from us
- 15:40Speaker 3: and other people, they will take from that what works
- 15:42Speaker 3: for them. But the idea that I get to show
- 15:45Speaker 3: up to the world as me is powerful.
- 15:49Speaker 1: So I get that message, I really do. But to me,
- 15:52Speaker 1: she presents as somebody who has every answer to everything.
- 15:55Speaker 1: She knows it all.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't have to take that from it.
- 15:59Speaker 3: I can take I can take it from that.
- 16:00Speaker 1: In the book, she tells you she doesn't even know
- 16:02Speaker 1: how to buy her own plane ticket.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Like I don't know how to buy my own plane ticket.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Really, I just had an amazing weekend last weekend because
- 16:11Speaker 3: you weren't there. I had to get us on a plane,
- 16:14Speaker 3: pick up the higher car, drive through Sydney.
- 16:17Speaker 1: You're a grown woman.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I've never done those things. How come because I just
- 16:22Speaker 2: let you take over.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I love the fact that I don't have to think
- 16:25Speaker 3: about it, that I don't have to stress about it.
- 16:28Speaker 3: It was very stressful for me, but I actually did it,
- 16:31Speaker 3: and it was really empowering to do it. Okay, but
- 16:33Speaker 3: for so many people, we just we just fall in
- 16:36Speaker 3: and do what needs to get done without thinking about things.
- 16:41Speaker 3: That weekend, I had to think about it because you
- 16:43Speaker 3: weren't there.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And you nailed it.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I think I did.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Okay, So let's summarize because we've got to wrap this up.
- 16:48Speaker 1: This We could argue about that particular before day. If

- 17:11Speaker 1: as Glennan Doyle book as long as I live. But
- 17:13Speaker 1: you know what, you'll probably buy her next one as well.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And look, I.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Didn't agree with everything she had to say, but you
- 17:19Speaker 3: love the book. But there was there was enough in
- 17:21Speaker 3: there that I loved.
- 17:23Speaker 1: So how many stars are you giving it?
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'm going to give it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: For four stars? Oh okay, all right. I was expecting
- 17:28Speaker 1: the way you're raving about it that it looked like
- 17:30Speaker 1: six out of five.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Oh, you're hilarious.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Four stars. Four okay. And how many stars are you

- 17:49Speaker 1: one hundred percent same same. So we will link to
