- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06where we left off with the CNN article about the
- 0:10roadblocks slowing down a reckoning when it comes to Epstein
- 0:14in the United States. And this article was authored by
- 0:18Stephen Collinson. It was another stunning day of fallout in
- 0:22the Epstein sagon Monday, Maxwell was piped in from her
- 0:27detention facility in Texas to provide testimony to a House
- 0:30committee investigating the scandal. But she invoked the Fifth Amendment
- 0:35to avoid self incrimination, as is her constitutional right. Look,
- 0:40there's no doubt that she has a right to plead
- 0:43the Fifth and honestly, she's smart to do so. Does
- 0:47anyone really think that anything she says is not going
- 0:50to incriminate her as well? And remember, Glenn Maxwell's already
- 0:54cooked as far as witnesses go because of her perjury.
- 0:59She's an known and when you're a known liar, well, folks,
- 1:03I know it's breaking news, but people don't believe you,
- 1:06especially jury's And that's why there was never any chance
- 1:09whatsoever that Clayn Maxwell was ever going to offer anything
- 1:13up as far as that deposition. Her goal is to
- 1:15get out of prison, not add more time. But her
- 1:20lawyer made a stunning proposal. Miss Maxwell's prepared to speak
- 1:24fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump. Attorney
- 1:28David Oscar Marcus said in a statement during the deposition,
- 1:32which he later posted on x YO. That is just crazy.
- 1:38So we're just gonna put it out there for everybody
- 1:40to see that we got some quid pro quo going on?
- 1:43Is that what led to Glenn Maxwell being given those
- 1:46cushy ass circumstances in the first place. Yo, I got questions,
- 1:51and unfortunately all the answers that are coming back to
- 1:54me are not valid. There is no excuse for anything
- 1:59like this to even take place. Glenne Maxwell shouldn't even
- 2:03be where she is now. She's trying to run the
- 2:06table once again, talking about do this for me and
- 2:10I'll do that for you. Classic quid pro quo. This
- 2:14is a crazy ass statement, and the fact that they're
- 2:17so brazen about it makes me wonder what they've been promised.
- 2:23Only she can provide the complete truth, Marcus continued. Some
- 2:26may not like what they hear, but the truth matters.
- 2:29For example, both President Trump and President Clinton are innocent
- 2:34of any wrongdoing. So Glenn Maxwell knows exactly what everybody did,
- 2:39even when she claims she was no longer there. That's interesting.
- 2:43That's a hell of his skill Glenn Maxwell has. Does
- 2:46that come with being a bipedal serpent? Or is that
- 2:48something she picked up later on down the road. She
- 2:51just puts on that swami hat and before you know it, well,
- 2:54she knows everything, and she knows who did what? Is
- 2:57that really what you're trying to pitch to me? That's
- 2:59what you expect me to buy that? Glaine Maxwell is
- 3:02going to be the person that blows the doors off
- 3:05and gives us all the information we need. Are you stupid?
- 3:11She had her chance to do that before she ended
- 3:13up in prison. She didn't though right, She didn't enter
- 3:18into a deal, she didn't speak when it was her
- 3:21time on the stand, none of it. But now at
- 3:25this moment in history, all of a sudden, Glain Maxwell
- 3:29has something to say. Watching them try to change this
- 3:32narrative in real time is wild, and the fact that
- 3:36they think that it's going to be successful is even
- 3:39more wild. Nobody's buying what you're selling, and nobody believes
- 3:43that Kallaiine Maxwell is going to tell the truth and
- 3:46blow the doors off this and anybody telling you any
- 3:49different is lying to you. Neither the current or the
- 3:52ex president has been charged with any crime in connection
- 3:55to Epstein. Both deny having any knowledge of his offenses. Well,
- 4:00considering that article we just went through about Donald Trump's
- 4:03statements to the pom Beach Police about how everyone knew
- 4:07what Epstein was, I think Donald Trump has some explaining
- 4:10to do. Did you lie to the pom Beach Police
- 4:14or are you lying to us? Trump has struggled to
- 4:20explain his friendship with the disgraced financier and said he
- 4:23threw Epstein out of his Marra al Lago club after
- 4:26they became estranged. But the clemency play is the epitome
- 4:29of an age when attempted quid pro quoes play out
- 4:32in public in hopes of swaying a president who mocks
- 4:35ethics and exploits power granted by voters for his own ends. Well, look, man,
- 4:42that's exactly what it looks like, right. We can't deny
- 4:45the reality of what's going on and the fact that
- 4:47they're being very brazen when it comes to these kinds
- 4:50of deals. And I don't just mean with Glenn Maxwell.
- 4:54I'm talking about overall the whole situation with pardons, not
- 4:58just with Trump either, by the way, is ridiculous, and
- 5:03the president should have as much lateral ability to pardon
- 5:06some of the scumbags that they do end up pardoning. Now,
- 5:09of course that's just my opinion, but every single administration
- 5:14it's the same song and dance. Anything that Maxwell said
- 5:17in the event she was released from prison would be
- 5:19immediately regarded as not credible given her incentive to improve
- 5:24her own plight, But such as Trump's outlandish past use
- 5:29of his pardon powers that her gambit cannot be dismissed.
- 5:33It might even work. Look, I don't put anything past
- 5:36Trump or the administration. Previously, before all of this blew
- 5:41up in July, I would have said, no way, there
- 5:43is no chance that Donald Trump would make that move.
- 5:47But now who the hell knows. It's rather obvious he
- 5:50doesn't care about Burnham political capital when it comes to Epstein,
- 5:54so why should he care about commuting or pardoning Glenne Maxwell,
- 6:01even though he himself said that she was worse than
- 6:03Jeffrey Epstein. But I guess we can't let that get
- 6:06in the way of some good politics right to help
- 6:10with the people who were abused, to help with the
- 6:11people who were wronged, as long as I'm coming out
- 6:14of this without looking any worse than I do. That's
- 6:18exactly the pattern we're seeing here, and I find it disgusting.
- 6:25The atmosphere of thwarted accountability on one side of the
- 6:28Atlantic only sharpened the contrast with an extraordinary political crisis
- 6:32engulfing Britain. Prime Minister Cure Starmer battled to save his
- 6:37job amid recriminations over his decision to appoint Peter Mandelsson,
- 6:43a former friend of Epstein, as ambassador to Washington, and
- 6:48in a mind boggling move, King Charles the Third offered
- 6:51to cooperate with police in any investigation into his brother,
- 6:55the former Prince Andrew, who has had his royal titles
- 6:58stripped after he offuscated his ties to Epstein. So all
- 7:02this accountability going on across the sea, but here in America,
- 7:06we can't be bothered the whole people accountable. How dare
- 7:10you even ask? What is this a moral panic? Bitch?
- 7:14This ain't canceled culture. This is consequence culture. And it's
- 7:20time you motherfucker's wised up. Oh, well he only sent
- 7:23an email. I don't care. Okay, I don't care. And look,
- 7:27I'm not calling for people who are sending emails to
- 7:29go to prison. What I am saying, though, is there
- 7:34pieces of shit, And if you don't like that or
- 7:36it offends you, I really don't care, because I'm offended
- 7:41that these people rule over my life. That's what I'm
- 7:44offended about. So if you want to be offended that
- 7:47they're getting called out and that their reputations are in danger,
- 7:51well you, right along with the people that we're enabling
- 7:54Jeffrey Epstein, can all go get fucked. And I don't
- 7:58know how much more clear I need to be. You see, folks,
- 8:00I don't care about making friends. I don't care about
- 8:03being accepted to any big clubs. I don't care about
- 8:06any of it. I don't care about sponsors. I don't
- 8:08care about selling you dick pills, none of that shit.
- 8:12You know what I care about. I care about these
- 8:14people being held accountable, and I refuse to shut my
- 8:17mouth until that occurs. Underscoring the peril the affair opposes
- 8:22to the monarchy, the heir to the throne, Prince William
- 8:25and his wife, Princess Catherine offered empathy to Epstein's survivors
- 8:30through a spokesperson in Norway, where another royal has been
- 8:33shamed by the affair, authority, said they're investigating a former
- 8:37diplomat suspected of gross corruption. So everybody out there talking
- 8:43about Epstein not collecting information or a compromunt, you look
- 8:47fucking dumb. Now we have mandelssh we have Prince Andrew himself,
- 8:54and we have this Norway royal who are all giving
- 8:59Jeffrey Epstein confidential information? And for what reason? And do
- 9:04you think that's where it ended? Just those people? Because
- 9:07I have my doubts. This was the pattern, and this
- 9:10is what Jeffrey Epstein was trying to do. You folks
- 9:13have to understand when you get to this level, it's
- 9:15not just about money, it's about information. And the most
- 9:20important currency to these people is information because information can
- 9:26change everything, right, And that was Jeffrey Epstein's job. He
- 9:30was collecting information. He was working as a free agent,
- 9:33and he was willing to work with anyone that was
- 9:35willing to pay him for his services. And a whole
- 9:38lot of people were caught up in passing Jeffrey Epstein
- 9:42all kinds of information. And if that's not blackmail, if
- 9:46that's not compromont, I don't know what is the reputation
- 9:52of a highly respected former French culture minister was tarnished
- 9:56by his past contact with Epstein, and Poland is investigating
- 10:00whether the convicted sex offender was linked to Russian spies. Well,
- 10:04we know the Polish girls came to America. Adriana Ross
- 10:08was Polish, So there are certainly things to look at
- 10:12over in Poland and Eastern Europe as a whole, because
- 10:15that was prime hunting ground for Jeffrey Epstein and his people.
- 10:18One thousand percent Conna Marvel that the contrast between the
- 10:24UK and the US. Look at what's happening in Britain.
- 10:28You have a left government. Actually I know Kira Starmer
- 10:31I was excited at onety one. Yet I believe he
- 10:34needs to be held accountable with what's happened with Mandelssohn.
- 10:38You have the British monarchy having to answer questions. I mean,
- 10:41the King of England is putting out statements and yet
- 10:44in our country we have not had the reckoning. What
- 10:48explains the difference. It's a good question, and it comes
- 10:51down to protection, money and narratives. You see, they're turning
- 10:56the narrative on its head now, and they're trying to
- 10:58make this into a ME two type of thing. But
- 11:00what they need to understand is that during Me Too,
- 11:04this topic was largely ignored. Nobody showed up in any
- 11:07pussy hats at the Glenn Maxwell trial, and hardly anybody
- 11:11gave a damn about these survivors. So save the bullshit.
- 11:16This reckoning right here has been a long time coming.
- 11:19And we're not talking about a nineteen year old who
- 11:23was dating a seventeen year old. We're not talking about
- 11:25a twenty year old who is with a seventeen year old.
- 11:27What we are talking about is some of the richest,
- 11:30most powerful people in the world preying on young, vulnerable
- 11:34girls who came from broken homes. But I guess we
- 11:37should just ignore the circumstances, right, just ignore it all.
- 11:41So what explains the difference. It's complex, especially since none
- 11:45of the people who came into contact with Epstein apart
- 11:48from Maxwell, have been charged with crimes. That doesn't necessarily
- 11:52point to a cover up. Evidence may not lead in
- 11:55such a direction. Oh no, not at all. There is
- 11:59no crimes that were committed here, nothing, no financial crimes,
- 12:02No crimes against children, no crimes against women, no crimes
- 12:05against the rest of us. Just pack it in. We
- 12:09should all just pack it in and never talk about
- 12:11it again. But the growing push for accountability is raising
- 12:17the question of what this network of powerful and sophisticated people,
- 12:21mostly rich men, knew about Epstein's activities and crimes, especially
- 12:26once he emerged from prison in two thousand and nine
- 12:29after serving a thirteen month sentence four sex offenses against children.
- 12:33By the way, oh, was prostitution. No, kids can't consent,
- 12:39that's not prostitution. There have been some consequences for Americans
- 12:47who had links with Epstein. Former treasure secretary and former
- 12:51Harvard University president Larry Summers stepped away from public life
- 12:55after the release of embarrassing email exchanges with Epstein. Last week,
- 13:00Brad Karp resigned as chairman of Paul Weiss, one of
- 13:03the country's top corporate law firms, over his Epstein ties.
- 13:09But such downfalls in the US have been precipitated by
- 13:13reputational damage to individuals rather than government action. In Europe,
- 13:18the machinery of investigation and accountability remains independent. In the US,
- 13:24the Justice Department is run by Trump loyalists who have
- 13:27heard his calls for the country to move on. And
- 13:30that's really what it comes down to. And it's sad
- 13:33to say, and I really don't care how people try
- 13:35and twist themselves up to excuse it or explain it.
- 13:39There is no excuse and there is no explanation. It's wrong,
- 13:44it's disgusting, and it needs to end. Mandelssohn is facing
- 13:49a criminal investigation over allegations he passed secret and market
- 13:53moving government information to Epstein. It's hard to see the
- 13:57Trump DOJ launching a probe in similar circumstances. Oh yeah,
- 14:02talk about highly unlikely things that are never gonna happen. Okay,
- 14:07the Trump DOJ is not going to investigate itself. But
- 14:10keep in mind that Trump is not going to be
- 14:12in power forever, and there's gonna be a reckoning, I
- 14:15promise you. Mandelssohn is facing a criminal investigation over allegations
- 14:20he passed secret and market moving government information to Epstein.
- 14:23It's hard to see that Trump DOJ launching a probe
- 14:26in similar circumstances. Mandelssyn has apologized for his past links
- 14:31with Epstein and has resigned from the Labor Party. And
- 14:34the House of Lords. At least he had the humility
- 14:38to do that. Now, of course he was forced to
- 14:40do so. But still here we are. Results matter, right,
- 14:45And the fact that Mandelssohn is now running in disgrace,
- 14:49that's a good thing. The shockover disclosures about Epstein's behavior
- 14:54and this sprawling network of contacts is palpable in Europe.
- 14:59But why is this discuss less obvious in the United States?
- 15:02Perhaps ten years into the Trump era, the country is
- 15:06just punch drunk on scandal, or maybe the spectacle of
- 15:09Epstein's influence pedaling is in such big news in a
- 15:13nation where politics is saturated in campaign cash. You know,
- 15:17that's horrible to even read. And the fact that we're
- 15:20in a place where that could even be possible is disgusting.
- 15:25There is no amount of cash that should protect anyone
- 15:29from anything even close to what Epstein was doing. But
- 15:32yet here we are, all these years later, and that's
- 15:35still occurring. Each day brings new revelations about Epstein's extraordinary
- 15:39global network of interlocking ties between bipartisan political leaders and influencers,
- 15:45finance and business titans and international organizations, academia and billionaires.
- 15:53But amid the cacophony. People often forget what this is
- 15:57really about. Previous harm inflicted on the women who were
- 16:00trafficked by Epstein as girls and forced to perform massages
- 16:05and sex acts. Their trauma is only exasperated by the
- 16:09apparent impunity of powerful people who flocked around their abuser. Well,
- 16:14that's the most important part from a humanistic standpoint, without
- 16:18a doubt, and it's the most horrendous part. But the
- 16:21part that is going to send these people to prison,
- 16:24if anything does, it's going to be the paper trail.
- 16:27And they're agreed, and that's the reason we haven't dug
- 16:31into that. That's not something that the powers that be
- 16:37want to get into. They don't want people understanding just
- 16:40how interconnected Jeffrey Epstein was and just how much of
- 16:43his money found its way into the pockets of politicians
- 16:48that are currently in office, Hello Stacey Plaskett, Chuck Schumer.
- 16:52The story is much tidier if they can only blame
- 16:54one man, right, one sick, degenerate, And that's exactly why
- 16:59they're doing that. They don't want people to understand just
- 17:02how widespread this rot is and how this is not
- 17:06just about one man Jeffrey Epstein, but about a system
- 17:10that allowed that man to thrive. That's what this is
- 17:13really about. I think that what people also need to
- 17:16remember is that you know, the survivors of his crime
- 17:20know what happened. Epstein victim Liz Stein, wearing a sweater
- 17:24reading courage is Contagious, told CNN's Jake Tapper on Monday.
- 17:28And so when we see things coming out that, you know,
- 17:31don't parallel what our truth is, we really were taking
- 17:35notice and they should be, and so should you. We
- 17:39should all be demanding truth and accountability wherever it leads,
- 17:44not because it's politically convenient, not because the other side
- 17:48is in jeopardy, but because it's the right thing to do,
- 17:53and because our society depends on it. And I truly
- 17:57mean that, like, what kind of society do we want
- 18:00to be? Do we want to be a society that
- 18:03lets this kind of shit slide, that gives these people
- 18:06a pass because they have power and money, or do
- 18:09we want to be a society that holds people accountable
- 18:12no matter their status or their wealth. I mean, I
- 18:16know it's a novel idea, but if you commit crimes,
- 18:19you should be held accountable. And I don't care if
- 18:22you're some homeless guy on the street or the president,
- 18:25it shouldn't matter one bit, But unfortunately we know that
- 18:29it's a big ass club and none of us are invited.
