- 0:11Speaker 1: that you are still as felt young looking man. I
- 0:16Speaker 1: have an IV in my arm right now. I don't
- 0:18Speaker 1: know if you guys can see what happened. Oh no,
- 0:20Speaker 1: I have. I was a bit dehydrated and so needed
- 0:25Speaker 1: to get an I V in order to get back
- 0:28Speaker 1: to one. Water doesn't always work. Water doesn't always work,
- 0:31Speaker 1: you know, Tim, you know about those. You can go
- 0:34Speaker 1: to a place, or you can even pay more and
- 0:37Speaker 1: have them come your home. I'm sure if you don't
- 0:39Speaker 1: live in La, they probably have this in a city
- 0:41Speaker 1: near you. But you can go get fluids, you can
- 0:44Speaker 1: go get hydrated, you get vitamins. If you're super hungover,
- 0:48Speaker 1: you can go get a hangover can cor Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: there's one of those right up near my house. Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Do you deliver? Use it? I do it all though
- 0:55Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't do it when I
- 0:57Speaker 1: when I feel a cold coming on and I get
- 0:59Speaker 1: I go oh no, oh no not now not now,
- 1:02Speaker 1: I go and they give you like they've just blast
- 1:05Speaker 1: you with vitamins. It feels right. So Zach and I
- 1:07Speaker 1: have something coming up that we have to take care of,
- 1:10Speaker 1: and I'm trying to get like, I'm gonna tell you something. Tim.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but I don't work out
- 1:17Speaker 1: like I used to. You look good. I'm sorry. Pause
- 1:21Speaker 1: one second. This is Tim Holbert. Everybody. We were on
- 1:26Speaker 1: season six. We now we're really up in the game
- 1:27Speaker 1: with fancy guests. Tim was Tim was one of the
- 1:32Speaker 1: best writers on Scrubs, and he is one of Bill's
- 1:36Speaker 1: best friends, and um, he's just an all around great guy.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And I didn't want to even bother Tim to come
- 1:43Speaker 1: on the show until I heard through the grape vine.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But Tim actually is a fan of the podcast. They
- 1:50Speaker 1: wanted to come on. Tim tell us how great we are? Well,
- 1:53Speaker 1: let me tell you and I wrote some stuff down this.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I learned about this. You know, I'm not very technical,
- 2:00Speaker 1: so I don't do a lot of like things on
- 2:03Speaker 1: my phone. But I learned about this during the pandemic
- 2:06Speaker 1: and I started listening to it and it brought me
- 2:09Speaker 1: on Bridal Joy. You guys, you guys like I can't
- 2:14Speaker 1: wait to see what the I know you're talking about.
- 2:15Speaker 1: What the next podcast is going to be and I'm
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm enjoying the ship talk with the New Girl podcast
- 2:23Speaker 1: as well. Yeah, well we get you know, I also
- 2:25Speaker 1: follow our Sorry Daniel, did you meet Tim? That's Daniel.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Indeed we had a nice conversation before everybody got into
- 2:33Speaker 1: wanted to make sure that Tim was set up to
- 2:34Speaker 1: h to report. But pleasure, pleasure to meet you again, Tim, Tim.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Very few of our guests, and I would introduce Joel,
- 2:40Speaker 1: but I don't see her. She may have checked out
- 2:41Speaker 1: for Sorry, I'm here just Tim, Um. Tim, You're one
- 2:47Speaker 1: of the first guests. I just want to give you
- 2:49Speaker 1: a comment. Who's ever figured out sounding good right off
- 2:53Speaker 1: the bat, you don't seem to be having any you
- 2:56Speaker 1: know from the show that Sarah is the worst culprit.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You are you are really and getting an eight plus
- 3:01Speaker 1: so far. Also, Gabby fucked it up eight ways to something.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Oh Gabby didn't Gabby. Gabby lied that she'd ever She
- 3:07Speaker 1: didn't watch She never watched it. She didn't even know
- 3:10Speaker 1: what she was coming on to do. I mean, had
- 3:12Speaker 1: no clue. She wrote the episode and she didn't watch it.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And Zach, you said something very funny which I was
- 3:18Speaker 1: listening to. You had the British people on. They were
- 3:21Speaker 1: telling a story about how one of them love Scrubs
- 3:23Speaker 1: and she had never seen the show, and you said,
- 3:25Speaker 1: that's okay, neither has Gabby. You guys mercilessly just killed her. Well,
- 3:33Speaker 1: it was very uncomfortable. It's hard to do the show.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And I assumed that, not only since you're a fan
- 3:40Speaker 1: of the podcast and you wrote the fucking episode, that
- 3:44Speaker 1: you might take the time to review it. And it's
- 3:46Speaker 1: known as the Gabby example. Now, yes, Gabby said the example.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You know, by the way, I think Gabby may have
- 3:51Speaker 1: indirectly made Donald and I not want to have writers
- 3:53Speaker 1: on it because well, also at the end of the show,
- 3:56Speaker 1: you were talking to that couple from England that were
- 3:58Speaker 1: both doctors, and you were talking about how medical marijuana
- 4:03Speaker 1: is legal in England, and Gabby just screams out and abortion,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you can get an abortion, and Zach, you go, you go.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I'd personally rather smoke weed, but you do your thing. Gabby.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I'm telling you, guys, that guy's funny. Tim, I have
- 4:26Speaker 1: swee have so much talking about um. Donald don't even
- 4:29Speaker 1: want to begin with Tim. It's so I'm so excited
- 4:31Speaker 1: you're here. Okay, so I have a bunch of questions.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I have to ask him. One, what year did you
- 4:38Speaker 1: join us? Season two? Season three? Here's my thing, I
- 4:42Speaker 1: only joined season two of Neil Flynn shows. So I
- 4:45Speaker 1: got on season two of Scrubs in season two of
- 4:47Speaker 1: the Middle. Wow, that's your specialty, because Neil Flyn's not. Yes,
- 4:54Speaker 1: he has to get a show and have to wait
- 4:56Speaker 1: a year. Wait, weren't you working on Psycho a little bit? Also? No,
- 4:59Speaker 1: that's Callahan. Callahan, you're mixing up your white writers. They
- 5:04Speaker 1: you're white, you're white, non you're white non Jewish comment writers.
- 5:08Speaker 1: There's drinking. We fight and fight and then really fight.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Are hey? So you have around in that in that
- 5:16Speaker 1: Latrican outfit singing. That was one of my favorite memories
- 5:19Speaker 1: of Scrubs. That was I mean, you were running around
- 5:22Speaker 1: in a Leafrican outfit, going way drinking. We fight and
- 5:25Speaker 1: we fighted and drinked Tim, then we fight some more.
- 5:28Speaker 1: We joined season two, And we should mention very importantly
- 5:32Speaker 1: that Mike Hobert, Tim's little brother is Lonnie Delivery on
- 5:37Speaker 1: the Pizza delivery Guy, one of the very few human
- 5:40Speaker 1: beings um to play two different characters on top Unless
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know you heard this to him. We debated whether
- 5:47Speaker 1: Lonnie had then gone on to medical school. Oh yes,
- 5:51Speaker 1: pizza delivery pilot screen that's gotta be on Scrubs Wiki
- 5:55Speaker 1: that he was in the pilot as a pizza delivery guy.
- 5:57Speaker 1: It is it is. We disgusted and Donald and I.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I said, is he one of the only people in
- 6:01Speaker 1: Scrubs history to play two different characters? Or did Lonnie
- 6:05Speaker 1: the pizza sorry, did the pizza delivery guy from the
- 6:07Speaker 1: pilot go off and go to med school and become funny? Yeah?
- 6:11Speaker 1: I mean they're both possible. I mean I love listening
- 6:14Speaker 1: to you guys deconstruct the way this shit happens. Well,
- 6:16Speaker 1: we're about to do it with your episode. But wait,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you, yea, when when did you
- 6:20Speaker 1: leave us to do the middle? So I wrote the
- 6:25Speaker 1: first episode of season six, and then I went off
- 6:27Speaker 1: to develop um and then I ran that Brad Garrett
- 6:31Speaker 1: show for a year, and then I went to It
- 6:34Speaker 1: was like it was called till Death, which was a
- 6:36Speaker 1: good Uh it was. It was very apropos because he
- 6:39Speaker 1: almost only went one year. I know it went one
- 6:43Speaker 1: hundred episodes, but he tortured me. Oh you didn't have
- 6:47Speaker 1: a good experience. Yeah, yeah, freaking that that commercial with
- 6:51Speaker 1: him and Tommy John what he was super nice, like
- 6:56Speaker 1: he gave me like a Brett far football, but then
- 6:59Speaker 1: he would just torture me. Oh no, that's not a
- 7:01Speaker 1: good working environment. No one was. Um, so you regretted,
- 7:05Speaker 1: regretted leaving that. I like that. And then you know
- 7:10Speaker 1: what happens for those of you not in the business
- 7:12Speaker 1: is a writer will get hot and they're on a
- 7:16Speaker 1: hot show and then their contract is up, and it's
- 7:19Speaker 1: like it's like a sports analogy. Donald. They they're a
- 7:21Speaker 1: contract is up, and they can and they're in demand
- 7:25Speaker 1: for other teams. Yes, I've noticed that some writers don't
- 7:29Speaker 1: even finish the gig. They'll get like halfway through and
- 7:33Speaker 1: if it looks like the shows either on the bubble
- 7:36Speaker 1: and and they don't know what it's gonna do, they
- 7:38Speaker 1: bounce automn really fast to the next gig. Well, they
- 7:41Speaker 1: want to make dat money, Donald, I understand that, but
- 7:44Speaker 1: there's no loyalty in this business. By the way, I
- 7:47Speaker 1: want to I want to tell you I have two
- 7:49Speaker 1: things I did this week that are that are so
- 7:52Speaker 1: not me. They're so Donald I I and they were
- 7:56Speaker 1: both wonderful. I watched a sports documentary. The Netflix has
- 8:02Speaker 1: a series called Bad Sports. You guys would love this, Tim.
- 8:06Speaker 1: You love the sports, I love sports. I love Yeah. Well,
- 8:08Speaker 1: bad Sports is about love the sports analogies, um sports. Um.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Bad Sports is about controversies in sports. And this one
- 8:16Speaker 1: was about point shaving, the ASU point shaving scandal. Do
- 8:19Speaker 1: you remember that? Yeah? Sure, yes, I never knew what
- 8:23Speaker 1: point shaving was. It wasn't fascinating, but it was a
- 8:25Speaker 1: player that was actually doing Yeah. But they were so
- 8:28Speaker 1: good at it because they would have like phenomenal games
- 8:31Speaker 1: like score thirty points sports. Yes, you know, And but
- 8:34Speaker 1: did you watch it was a game? No? I remember
- 8:36Speaker 1: when it happened. You got to watch this doc Dude,
- 8:38Speaker 1: this guy. It's so sad. It's tragic. They were broken
- 8:43Speaker 1: and they were young, and they they they they did
- 8:45Speaker 1: it and they did their time and they and they
- 8:47Speaker 1: suffered the consequences. But when you watched the man cry
- 8:49Speaker 1: as he tells the story because he was headed to
- 8:51Speaker 1: the NBA. Was it Charles Shackelford. No, his nickname was
- 8:55Speaker 1: was um. He had a funny nickname, um Headache. His
- 9:01Speaker 1: nickname was Headache. That was funny. Anyway, he was so
- 9:05Speaker 1: fucking good that they that the bookie would say, you
- 9:09Speaker 1: gotta it has to be you. You can win. But
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's got to be um no, no more than six points, right,
- 9:16Speaker 1: and he would hit it. It would the game wins points.
- 9:20Speaker 1: You know, he was a point guard, which I learned
- 9:22Speaker 1: Tim Hobert really is the sort of quarterback in basketball
- 9:26Speaker 1: control the whole game than I know that. I learned
- 9:28Speaker 1: it from launching that. Also, in jazz music, there's a
- 9:31Speaker 1: point guard, you know, so the guy that the people
- 9:33Speaker 1: that everyone follow in the improvisation. So so so is
- 9:38Speaker 1: Michael Jordan the point guard? Yeah, but he but you
- 9:42Speaker 1: might as well consider him a point guard because he
- 9:44Speaker 1: had the ball in his hand most of the time.
- 9:45Speaker 1: My daughter let me let me ask you in a
- 9:47Speaker 1: in a in a and I'm sorry again, everyone listening
- 9:50Speaker 1: knows that I know very little. Wouldn't You're so your
- 9:53Speaker 1: best player, your your your mega player isn't always the
- 9:56Speaker 1: point guard? No, not always? O, most likely your best
- 10:01Speaker 1: player isn't the point guard, Zach. I watched the Rescue. Yes,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I recommended that Donalds, you need to watch this. It's
- 10:10Speaker 1: fascinating shit. And also I learned something very interesting from
- 10:14Speaker 1: a guy who I played tennis with. He said, you
- 10:17Speaker 1: would assume in The Rescue that all the don't keep
- 10:20Speaker 1: away any spoilers, Tim, because our audience doesn't want is
- 10:23Speaker 1: for those of you who may have missed an episode.
- 10:25Speaker 1: The Rescue is a documentary on Disney about um, the
- 10:30Speaker 1: young boys who were chops in a cave. Anyway, it's
- 10:33Speaker 1: amazing the dock and now Ron Howard is making Yes,
- 10:37Speaker 1: what has made and and and the buzz around town
- 10:40Speaker 1: is that it's amazing the narrative version of it. Anyway,
- 10:44Speaker 1: people should watch that now, Tim, I was just reminding
- 10:46Speaker 1: the audience, what were you about to say about it?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Without giving well spoilers, you can edit it out. But
- 10:51Speaker 1: my friend told me, I assume that all the footage
- 10:54Speaker 1: that they had of the you know, going back and
- 10:57Speaker 1: forth underwater, they must have ragged cameras up for say,
- 11:00Speaker 1: fear something, but that was all recreated. It blew my mind.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Oh I don't like that, I know, but it blew
- 11:06Speaker 1: my mind. The second thing I did Donald, as I said,
- 11:12Speaker 1: I'm going to try. I'm sick and tired of this
- 11:16Speaker 1: global phenomenon of Marvel. I'm dating a Marvel Superhero. I said,
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna give some of these movies a chance. The
- 11:23Speaker 1: last one, I really, I really don't watch them. Of
- 11:25Speaker 1: course I watched one. I watched Black Widow, and I
- 11:27Speaker 1: watched I've seen an Avengers movie. But I'm like, I'm
- 11:30Speaker 1: gonna give the Phase one a chance. And I had
- 11:35Speaker 1: seen Iron Man, and I always loved iron Man, so
- 11:38Speaker 1: I started with Iron Man too, and I really enjoyed it. Sure,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and then I went on to thor One, which I
- 11:47Speaker 1: didn't enjoy as much. But I didn't although you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: I love me some Natalie Portman. I just did. I
- 11:53Speaker 1: thought the movie wasn't as good. But then, per Donald's recommendation,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I watched the First Captain America, which was great, amazing movie.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It's well done, well done. Wait till you see the
- 12:06Speaker 1: second one. It's better. I'm done, baby, it's done. I'm sorry, guys,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I gotta get the fab out. We could do it.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Let's talk about something. There's a nurse. I just want
- 12:13Speaker 1: the audience to know there's now a nurse that's come
- 12:15Speaker 1: in with Donald Donald. Did you call the nurse baby? No,
- 12:19Speaker 1: you call the no no, no baby, my wife, baby,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you can't do it anymore. That's not that's not appropriate.
- 12:28Speaker 1: You can't look off to the nurse and say baby, nurse, baby,
- 12:32Speaker 1: make an entrance. Real, Hi, it appears song Casey, come down,
- 12:44Speaker 1: do tell me what to do? And mind guys, it
- 12:52Speaker 1: appeared it appeared that he called the nurse baby casey.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You know what, he's trained, that's all he knows what
- 13:00Speaker 1: to say. Any Tim, Tim Hobard here was you know,
- 13:03Speaker 1: have you guys met Tim No? I feel like, okay, well, Tim,
- 13:08Speaker 1: Tim was just saying that we're not back in a
- 13:10Speaker 1: year where you call nurses babe, So remind your husband. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 1: we're working on that. Where he doesn't get out much.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I don't let him go anywhere, so you know, he's
- 13:21Speaker 1: not used to being around people. Donald and I have
- 13:23Speaker 1: a very big surprise, uh that we can't talk about,
- 13:26Speaker 1: but maybe we can bleep out. But I want Tim
- 13:28Speaker 1: to hear it, and the audience can hear Tim's reaction
- 13:31Speaker 1: to it. I can't wait, and maybe Joel and Daniel's
- 13:33Speaker 1: reaction to it. Um. But we'll just have to we'll
- 13:37Speaker 1: have to bleep out what it is. I think, yeah,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know it's the thing that we're doing. Oh oh,
- 13:42Speaker 1: the thing are you guys? Hey, um, Donald, I thought
- 13:47Speaker 1: we could tell Joel, Daniel and Tim our thing and
- 13:52Speaker 1: they'll bleep it out, but we can the audience can
- 13:54Speaker 1: at least hear their reaction to it, our exciting thing.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Wait wait, okay, I was going to do what you
- 14:00Speaker 1: said you wanted to do it. I was gonna do it.
- 14:01Speaker 1: But why how come you get to steal doing the
- 14:03Speaker 1: things you're doing? You know what? I was late? You
- 14:05Speaker 1: do it? Go ahead, Yeah, you were late. Timpany dot
- 14:07Speaker 1: dot down, timpany Okay, Donald, and I uh sha bepper
- 14:21Speaker 1: very bit. My heart is so full for you guys.
- 14:25Speaker 1: That's uneasy, look awesome. I'm gonna say something right now.
- 14:30Speaker 1: When it came, it came across the wire. Zach hit
- 14:34Speaker 1: me up at like ten o'clock at night, after dinner
- 14:36Speaker 1: with Flow, and he hits me up and he's had
- 14:39Speaker 1: a couple and he's like, dude, I fucking it fucking happened.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I'm like, what happened? He's like, and I'm like, dude,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you're so fucking drunk. You're so drunk drunk? Are you
- 14:53Speaker 1: right now? That you fucking I was calling you from
- 14:56Speaker 1: bed and I had had I had had a few
- 14:59Speaker 1: and U and I was so excited and Donald was like, oh, cool, cool, cool, whatever.
- 15:04Speaker 1: And then when we hung up, Flow was like, how
- 15:07Speaker 1: come he wasn't more excited? And I was like, I
- 15:09Speaker 1: think he's doing the whole I'll believe it when I
- 15:11Speaker 1: see it, Vibe. It was ten o'clock at night. Dude,
- 15:14Speaker 1: who calls you at ten o'clock at night with news
- 15:17Speaker 1: like that? No one? Well you did it, obviously, fans.
- 15:21Speaker 1: You will know soon enough what that is. It's very cool.
- 15:25Speaker 1: It's a very exciting thing for I would say a
- 15:28Speaker 1: bucket list item for Donald and definitely a bucket list now, Donald,
- 15:31Speaker 1: something we are allowed to talk about is your exciting
- 15:34Speaker 1: DC news. Can you that's on this? I don't know
- 15:38Speaker 1: how I got this lucky. I think you know what.
- 15:40Speaker 1: The whiteboard thing is real, dude. I've told you the
- 15:43Speaker 1: whiteboard thing, but I know you told me, but I
- 15:45Speaker 1: didn't believe magical. It is magical. And you know I
- 15:50Speaker 1: wrote a bunch of things on my whiteboard. One of
- 15:52Speaker 1: them was being in DC in the DC universe, and
- 15:57Speaker 1: it has officially happened, dude, It has officially happened, Like
- 16:02Speaker 1: not universe. Tell everyone and keep in mind that a
- 16:08Speaker 1: lot of listeners don't know the intricacies of the DC universe, right, Okay,
- 16:12Speaker 1: So I'm going to be on a show called Legends
- 16:14Speaker 1: of Tomorrow. It airs on the c W. Yeah. I'm
- 16:18Speaker 1: used to calling it the WB from back in the day.
- 16:20Speaker 1: That's how old school. I remember the frog, Remember the
- 16:23Speaker 1: frog frog? Yeah, the WB frog. Um. Anyway, So it's
- 16:28Speaker 1: on the CW. It's in the arrow verse, which is Berlante.
- 16:32Speaker 1: We've had a couple of people from the Blante verse
- 16:35Speaker 1: on the show. Uh, Tom Cavanaugh plays first. Keep hiring us.
- 16:40Speaker 1: So thank you Greg Blandy for continuing to hire me
- 16:42Speaker 1: in Donald thank you, yeah, thank you Berlante, thank you
- 16:45Speaker 1: Sarah Scheckter. Also she shout out she's amazing. Um. Anyway,
- 16:49Speaker 1: so I will be you can't, Nope, you gotta beat that.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But I will be on Legends of Tomorrow. Now I
- 16:56Speaker 1: learned just because they of course then wrote me things
- 17:00Speaker 1: are you? Is Zach gonna be? That's who I think
- 17:03Speaker 1: he should play too. Is it just a voice? No,
- 17:05Speaker 1: it would be a character. We'd dress up like fucking superheroes,
- 17:08Speaker 1: put on superhero outfits. Well you tell Berlandy that album?
- 17:12Speaker 1: Fuck yeah, it's on the podcast. It's on the podcast.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It's on the podcast. Drop it. You gonna have to believe. Yeah, dude,
- 17:21Speaker 1: Beccouver's dope. I don't fuck with Vancouver. Who shit? What? No?
- 17:26Speaker 1: I love Vancouver, but but is there wait sorry, let
- 17:29Speaker 1: me let me ask, let me start this over. Does
- 17:30Speaker 1: Canada still have a two week h No, no, no,
- 17:33Speaker 1: you don't have to quarantine? Oh because he you know,
- 17:36Speaker 1: we talked about this on the podcast, but they were
- 17:38Speaker 1: having a two week sit in a hotel room. No
- 17:41Speaker 1: fucking around quarantine, Daddy, don't do that, daddy unto that. No. No,
- 17:47Speaker 1: my friend, my good friend did it for it to
- 17:49Speaker 1: do a show, and she sat in a hotel room
- 17:53Speaker 1: for two weeks, and I would go shining. Yeah, that's
- 18:02Speaker 1: think think of the masturbation that goes on in those
- 18:04Speaker 1: hotel rooms if everyone's there for two weeks. Yeah, two weeks.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I mean, it could clog the city sewer system. I'm
- 18:11Speaker 1: there for an hour and Donald Donald Donald Master beats
- 18:15Speaker 1: on the plane. Right. No, no, no, no, no, you're
- 18:17Speaker 1: not allowed to do that. You're not allowed to do that.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You're not They never say, they never say in the
- 18:21Speaker 1: rules you can there's an old. There's an old there's
- 18:25Speaker 1: an old stand up joke. This that's one of my
- 18:27Speaker 1: favorite stand up jokes from way back, when the guy
- 18:29Speaker 1: goes um I found a Penthouse magazine in the seatback
- 18:34Speaker 1: cover of my airplane seat. I have one word for you, akupato.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Do you know? My whole life, I've always thought it
- 18:45Speaker 1: was bizarre that in the magazine shop they put the
- 18:48Speaker 1: black cover things over the porn. Still still, who's buying
- 18:54Speaker 1: Penthouse and a Hustler at the airport? And what are
- 18:57Speaker 1: you doing with said magazine? It's crazy? Does that do
- 19:00Speaker 1: they still have? I remember Playboy used to be at
- 19:03Speaker 1: the airport, but that was like no, you know how
- 19:05Speaker 1: in the magazine shop there'd be like four four magazines
- 19:08Speaker 1: that had black covers on them, right, which is obviously porn.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I don't know in twenty twenty two, but I remember
- 19:14Speaker 1: looking a few years ago and they still had them,
- 19:16Speaker 1: and I was thinking, like, who are these payboys? Who?
- 19:21Speaker 1: Who is mazine? But there's not even like Playboy, which
- 19:26Speaker 1: is like especially now is just like light. It's like Maxim,
- 19:29Speaker 1: it's like Hustler and pounds, like who who's like linking
- 19:32Speaker 1: their finger linking their finger and turning the page like
- 19:36Speaker 1: perusing Hustler on a point. This is so great. I
- 19:40Speaker 1: can't believe them hanging out with you. Guess yeah, I
- 19:43Speaker 1: love you Jim Once I recall you had about seven children.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Did that increase or I have four children? Had four
- 19:50Speaker 1: children in four years? Yes, four children in four years? Yes,
- 19:54Speaker 1: not messing around. Yeah, it's crazy now that brings that's
- 19:58Speaker 1: like the Irish Irish twins like you guy, Yeah yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 1: we had we had a right yeah yeah wow, drink
- 20:07Speaker 1: and fight and then we had a so we had
- 20:11Speaker 1: a daughter a son, and then we had twins, so
- 20:13Speaker 1: it was okay yeah yeah wow. Now also for fans Chill,
- 20:17Speaker 1: Tim's wife Um played the patient that sang the Colin
- 20:21Speaker 1: Hayes song Day. I can see a very long way
- 20:28Speaker 1: that eisode her at her acting and that was phenomenal. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: you had some good scenes with her and that she
- 20:36Speaker 1: was so good and her voice is ridiculous. Yeah, that
- 20:38Speaker 1: was one of my favorite weeks because all of our
- 20:41Speaker 1: friends were on the show. Yeah, you know, I mean
- 20:44Speaker 1: everyone in that I think everyone in that show was
- 20:46Speaker 1: a friend of her writer or an actor. That's crazy,
- 20:50Speaker 1: which is also so great. That's that's Bill all the
- 20:54Speaker 1: way right, because you would think that would happen. Like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: you know, Zach just directed. Zach's directed several movies. Now
- 21:01Speaker 1: I've only been in one of them. That's so sad.
- 21:05Speaker 1: And well the one you were in didn't do well,
- 21:07Speaker 1: so I'm well, it might have been my curse. No more,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I gotta put method Man in every one. Now, the
- 21:15Speaker 1: method got it, got it, Atlanta, Listen. I have very
- 21:20Speaker 1: good luck when my African American star is a Method
- 21:24Speaker 1: Man or Morgan Freeman. So I'm sticking with them. I
- 21:26Speaker 1: put you in one movie and no one goes to see. Now,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I'll tell you, guys, the one thing that I can
- 21:32Speaker 1: bring to this podcast that's unique is that I have
- 21:36Speaker 1: all the dirt on Bill, you know. I mean Bill
- 21:38Speaker 1: was my Bill was my first friend in LA and
- 21:41Speaker 1: uh and then and then I worked with him on
- 21:45Speaker 1: spinn City, you know until he left spin City and
- 21:48Speaker 1: then right sorry, so oh that was the first show
- 21:53Speaker 1: you worked with him? One? Yeah, so Bill hired me
- 21:55Speaker 1: on spinn City. Uh, and I just got to LA
- 21:59Speaker 1: and he was my first friend and and then he
- 22:00Speaker 1: did everything for me. I mean he he saw me
- 22:03Speaker 1: do stand up, He got me a job doing warm
- 22:05Speaker 1: up for a show he was on. Then, um, he
- 22:08Speaker 1: introduced me to my wife. Then he hired me on
- 22:11Speaker 1: spinn City. Come from basketball when you guys playing basketball together? Yeah,
- 22:15Speaker 1: I met I met him at the Hollywood Why with
- 22:17Speaker 1: you guys were talking about Hollywood Shuffle. Robert Townsend used
- 22:20Speaker 1: to play right. Oh yeah, And and and Ron bell Sheridan.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Do you remember him? Rondelle so so. Ron bell Sheridan
- 22:28Speaker 1: had a sitcom when everyone had a sitcom called Minor
- 22:31Speaker 1: Adjustments and Ute. And when he would play against him
- 22:35Speaker 1: at the Why, I'd go, oh, Rondell Sheared and make
- 22:37Speaker 1: some minor adjustments and he hated it. But anyways, Yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 1: I met Bill at the and then I worked on
- 22:45Speaker 1: Spin City with him, which was insane. And then I
- 22:47Speaker 1: came to the first uh Rightwood Spence City, and he
- 22:50Speaker 1: brought me on Scrubs and all the writers on Scrubs
- 22:52Speaker 1: were like, how can this guy talk to Bill this way?
- 22:55Speaker 1: Like because everyone was everyone's afraid of him, and and
- 22:59Speaker 1: I would just call him on all of shit, you know,
- 23:01Speaker 1: and it was hilarious. Where you guys, it was clear
- 23:04Speaker 1: that you and he had known each other for really
- 23:06Speaker 1: really well. It was also clear it was also clear,
- 23:09Speaker 1: you know, Bill has also clear that Bill had a
- 23:12Speaker 1: lot of respect for Tim. I mean Bill would, Bill
- 23:14Speaker 1: would give Timm, you know, so much more responsibility than
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know Tim and the Gate two though, if I'm correct,
- 23:25Speaker 1: But I mean there were certain Bill had his you know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: it goes without saying, any leader knows who he can
- 23:31Speaker 1: delegate to and delegate leadership too. And Tim, you know
- 23:35Speaker 1: you and Matt Tarsus are two examples that come to
- 23:37Speaker 1: mind of writers in the room that he would say, Okay,
- 23:41Speaker 1: I gotta go do X y Z. You run the room.
- 23:43Speaker 1: You're in j Yeah, so you did have about you.
- 23:45Speaker 1: You were kind of like a vice president at times. Well,
- 23:47Speaker 1: and he called me and he was like, you know,
- 23:49Speaker 1: come on the second season Scrubs. And so I really
- 23:52Speaker 1: did a ton of homework on that show. Like I
- 23:54Speaker 1: watched like every episode of the first season, wrote down everything,
- 23:57Speaker 1: and I was like blown away, how good the show?
- 24:00Speaker 1: And so when I came in, you know all like
- 24:03Speaker 1: a lot of writers are just like, oh, you're on
- 24:04Speaker 1: hiatus after a long year. They don't want to watch
- 24:07Speaker 1: the show. So when I came in, I just watched
- 24:09Speaker 1: like all twenty four of them, and like studied them,
- 24:12Speaker 1: and so I was just like, I couldn't wait to
- 24:14Speaker 1: start working on that show. It was so good. That's
- 24:17Speaker 1: the thing prepared, I mean, and it was just such
- 24:20Speaker 1: a good show. And the guy who writes the essays
- 24:23Speaker 1: and you guys have on as a guest, what's his name?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Oh scrubs a WICKI Trevor, Trevor, Oh no, no, no,
- 24:29Speaker 1: you're talking about Oh say like, I loved what he
- 24:33Speaker 1: said that he liked seasons two and five because those
- 24:36Speaker 1: those are like my favorite season. I think five is
- 24:38Speaker 1: my favorite. Listen, this is, this is, we are doing it.
- 24:40Speaker 1: We're gonna We're gonna five, six, seven, eighth, soon into
- 24:44Speaker 1: season six episode one. Everybody but um, but I have
- 24:48Speaker 1: to say thus far, five is by far my favorite.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I I loved score. I thought there's so many laps
- 24:54Speaker 1: in one through four, but I like it. One step
- 24:57Speaker 1: trip year and season five definitely delivery. It's so trippy
- 25:01Speaker 1: and it's fun listening to you guys deconstruct that shit
- 25:04Speaker 1: and just be like, what the I love that Bill
- 25:07Speaker 1: come on and said he Bill has come on and sorry, no,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I just wanted to finish it and said Bill has
- 25:11Speaker 1: come on and said, you know it was season five.
- 25:13Speaker 1: He's getting a little board. You had to shake it
- 25:15Speaker 1: up and shake it up. I mean there's ostriches wearing kengos.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Oh my god. And you guys were just like jelling,
- 25:21Speaker 1: you know, well this episode I'm gonna say, I mean,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I don't know what happened in between, but I mean,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I feel like this episode is chock full of stoner
- 25:29Speaker 1: humor throughout. Also, I feel for coming back into it.
- 25:36Speaker 1: We seem like all very very very game and very
- 25:40Speaker 1: very confident. I was really blown away by, like, you know,
- 25:47Speaker 1: usually like performances get bigger and stuff, and you guys
- 25:50Speaker 1: were like right in the pocket on this one. Thank you.
- 25:52Speaker 1: All right, Well, dude, would you like do to the
- 25:54Speaker 1: honors and counters in Tim Hubert? Oh my god, for real? Yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 1: get to okay, let me, let me, let me get
- 26:00Speaker 1: my special guests to do it with us already. Oh wow,
- 26:07Speaker 1: we're gonna do it together. Ready, Yeah, and I can
- 26:10Speaker 1: I kind of do it Donald Impression, Yes five six
- 26:13Speaker 1: Sterday about show. We made about a bunch of docs
- 26:19Speaker 1: and nurses and said stories never so get around you
- 26:29Speaker 1: here a yeah, around here. I gotta run into the
- 26:46Speaker 1: restaurant bear back that was flawless while Donald's up peeing.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I think we can still talk Tim about. Another thing
- 26:54Speaker 1: I like about you is that you are capable of
- 26:56Speaker 1: beating the very very cocky Bill Lawrence in sports. Yes,
- 27:01Speaker 1: guys are both very good tennis players. And I and Bill.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I mean I've seen Bill beat like like Prostill, Bill
- 27:10Speaker 1: is the most competitive man I've ever met. I used
- 27:14Speaker 1: to say that Bill would come in first and third
- 27:16Speaker 1: in a jack off contest. That's how competitive he is.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Because you're saying during the second he would be he
- 27:26Speaker 1: would reboot, yes, wow, and and then and then come
- 27:29Speaker 1: in thirds. Think it's a thing. Think of that now.
- 27:33Speaker 1: But now you guys have been playing pickleball. But you're
- 27:35Speaker 1: on the same team and you play pickleball, right yeah, No, no, No,
- 27:38Speaker 1: it's me and j D, the real j D versus
- 27:42Speaker 1: versus Matt Tarsas and Bill. Oh my god, it's the
- 27:45Speaker 1: most scrubs pickleball game. It's the funniest thing ever. Donald
- 27:50Speaker 1: Tim Hobert plays pickleball, him and real j D versus
- 27:55Speaker 1: Matt Tarsus and Bill. It's it's two very unapp athletic players. No,
- 28:01Speaker 1: they're all like, no, they're all great, right, well, Matt,
- 28:03Speaker 1: Matt's really athletic and j Jading you wouldn't think is athletic.
- 28:08Speaker 1: But I'm just going more in basketball. I'm just going
- 28:10Speaker 1: by basketball. Yeah, MAT's Matt's Yeah, Matt's not agree, but
- 28:13Speaker 1: basketball Matt doesn't he just look at Matt Tarsus and
- 28:16Speaker 1: think he was probably good at tennis. Yeah he is.
- 28:18Speaker 1: He was a squash player too in college. There you go.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I'm shocking when when Matt shorts anything which short now
- 28:25Speaker 1: he just looks like you number in trading places when
- 28:27Speaker 1: they're like ony stubs on the Matt Tarsas when he
- 28:33Speaker 1: plays basketball sometimes like we'll be in like the fifth
- 28:35Speaker 1: game of the night and Bill Callahan will say, Matt,
- 28:38Speaker 1: when did you get here? So that's fucked up. But
- 28:44Speaker 1: but Tim, you're you're equally as entranced by pickleball as Bill. Right, Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 1: Bill gets like whenever he whenever there's something new, Bill
- 28:52Speaker 1: loves to promote it. And yeah he's obsessed. But yeah,
- 28:55Speaker 1: the new the suit, do you know about the suit?
- 28:58Speaker 1: What's the suit? Oh? When we're talking about this at dinner,
- 29:01Speaker 1: don't you don't know about this? You need to get
- 29:02Speaker 1: you can't get them now, there's this electrode suit, right,
- 29:07Speaker 1: but all the cool kids are getting now. I think
- 29:09Speaker 1: it's like three thousand dollars and it comes with a
- 29:13Speaker 1: workout that you do for twenty minutes with an iPad
- 29:17Speaker 1: workout and um it gets you wrapped like fast. Do
- 29:23Speaker 1: you guys suit dann can you google that for me?
- 29:27Speaker 1: I think it's called the suit I got. I have
- 29:30Speaker 1: a confession. I don't know why I'm giving them a
- 29:31Speaker 1: free Do you guys have hyper volts? You know, the
- 29:36Speaker 1: like the theragun? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yet the gun we
- 29:39Speaker 1: love theragun. Well, okay, because I'm a friends with the
- 29:42Speaker 1: lady does hyper vol I'll get you guys hyper vol
- 29:44Speaker 1: You probably don't need them so well. Isn't there a
- 29:46Speaker 1: go on one of our advertisers or they were yeah,
- 29:48Speaker 1: we yeah, we only use a gun. Okay, one thing quick, Zach?
- 29:53Speaker 1: Can I say before that we get off the bill
- 29:55Speaker 1: sports thing? Bill and I started playing a lot of
- 29:57Speaker 1: tennis in the pandemic. We played seventy sets of tennis
- 30:02Speaker 1: and score the score is thirty five all no, wow, kidding.
- 30:09Speaker 1: But then I just want to put this on the
- 30:10Speaker 1: air that I've beat him soundly the last four times
- 30:13Speaker 1: we've played, and he's very upset. No the less the
- 30:16Speaker 1: last six times we've played, he hasn't been on a
- 30:18Speaker 1: show uh that much this year. He's such a busy man.
- 30:21Speaker 1: So I've got a few like little scrubs nuggets that
- 30:25Speaker 1: I wrote down that I just tell you. In my
- 30:31Speaker 1: twenty plus years of writing comedy, Zach, my favorite ad
- 30:34Speaker 1: lib was when when Donald and Judy were in that
- 30:39Speaker 1: bathtub and you were taking a ship and you said
- 30:43Speaker 1: sorry about the twosy guys. That's to this day, that's
- 30:46Speaker 1: my favorite thing. And that's I I've worked with Neil
- 30:48Speaker 1: Flynn now you know, eight more years on in the middle.
- 30:50Speaker 1: That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Um Uh. Then
- 30:55Speaker 1: here's a good one. Um Uh. One time Matt were
- 31:00Speaker 1: being tortured by Bill. It was like seven in the morning,
- 31:03Speaker 1: and we kept bringing him this one scene and editing,
- 31:05Speaker 1: and Bill would just keep tell us it wasn't good enough,
- 31:08Speaker 1: and uh, like the third time we brought in the
- 31:12Speaker 1: editing bay, He's like, guys, it's just not good enough.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And we walked out the door shut and then they
- 31:16Speaker 1: hit play on the edit and the joke was Doctor
- 31:21Speaker 1: Kelso's face had been burning with coffee, and you go,
- 31:26Speaker 1: whatever you do, don't say splotchy. And then you go,
- 31:31Speaker 1: good splotchy, doctor splotchy. And we're outside the door having
- 31:35Speaker 1: been told our scene isn't good enough for like the
- 31:37Speaker 1: fifth time, and and that's the fucking joke. We here
- 31:40Speaker 1: coming through the door. We're like, where's the bar. We
- 31:44Speaker 1: gotta get into this, We gotta get into this episode.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It was written by Tim Hobertum the beginning, Hey, happy season,
- 31:51Speaker 1: Happy season six. Everybody, Um again, not to be neurotic,
- 31:56Speaker 1: but Donald and I have no plan for when we
- 31:58Speaker 1: run out of episodes. Maybe we should just watch things
- 32:00Speaker 1: that we've been in next and uh and and and
- 32:04Speaker 1: and go through that. That just seems weird, though I
- 32:06Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know. I should you guys, do
- 32:08Speaker 1: you guys should do a Broadway themed No listeners will
- 32:11Speaker 1: all go away. You have to. We have so many
- 32:13Speaker 1: listeners worldwide. Um, you have to. And we don't want
- 32:17Speaker 1: any of the Leaves to do something that that would
- 32:21Speaker 1: dovetail with their the Love Scrubs, or you have to
- 32:26Speaker 1: pivot to doing interesting people, um, which everybody seems to
- 32:32Speaker 1: be doing now, which everyone is doing and it's sort
- 32:34Speaker 1: of played out, and then it's like, how am I
- 32:36Speaker 1: gonna grant compete with Mark? Mary, I'm gonna one for you, guys.
- 32:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna come up with something, all right, Oh Catalyst. Okay, guys, Sorry,
- 32:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna just gonna circle back Google um Catalyst suit
- 32:48Speaker 1: Catalyst This Tim, Tim, weren't you with me when we
- 32:51Speaker 1: were talking about this? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, you guys hang out?
- 32:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, y'all hang out? Yea hang out? How they'll
- 32:57Speaker 1: hang out? The reason I found out Tim as a
- 33:00Speaker 1: fan of the podcast was Bill. Bill brought me to dinner. Bill,
- 33:04Speaker 1: Bill brought him to dinner. Oh yeah, so y'all hang out?
- 33:06Speaker 1: All right? So you guys, this Catalyst suit and I
- 33:08Speaker 1: don't this is this is apparently people are saying, and
- 33:13Speaker 1: I and if Catalyst wants to send me and Donald
- 33:16Speaker 1: a suit, we would be very happy to advertise the
- 33:18Speaker 1: funk out of it because they're expensive. But apparently this
- 33:21Speaker 1: thing actually works. You work out and for twenty minutes
- 33:24Speaker 1: and you get it's like the Iron Man suit looks
- 33:26Speaker 1: like the Flash Yeah that from the movie. No. Bill
- 33:30Speaker 1: told me he was going to leave me that suit
- 33:32Speaker 1: when he goes to Miami. Oh really, yeah, but not
- 33:35Speaker 1: after I probably said I beat him in tennis. I
- 33:37Speaker 1: think Bill and Kristen got one. But there's a way,
- 33:40Speaker 1: there's a wait list. Yeah, come on, Catalyst, hook us up, Catalyst,
- 33:45Speaker 1: Suit Catalyst, Catalyst, Come on, Catalyst. Someone someone here who
- 33:51Speaker 1: knows the CEO of Catalyst, please send us all the
- 33:53Speaker 1: suit all right, Um, okay, so here we are. Um,
- 33:57Speaker 1: it's a wacky episode. Okay, I've got new long hair.
- 34:00Speaker 1: This episode has one of my favorite jokes in the
- 34:04Speaker 1: whole show, the whole season, And we'll get to that.
- 34:09Speaker 1: But I don't remember. I think I improved some of it.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I don't want to insult your writing, Tim, how much
- 34:14Speaker 1: of that thing? I know? But do you recall I
- 34:18Speaker 1: don't want to take credit. It was a let's just
- 34:19Speaker 1: say it was a team effort. Yeah. Look at the
- 34:21Speaker 1: bit that we'll get to of me describing to my
- 34:25Speaker 1: friends dying impregnated without penetration. Okay, I have a question
- 34:30Speaker 1: to ask. Yes, we literally went to Vegas just to
- 34:34Speaker 1: do a cold open. How did that happens? About the
- 34:38Speaker 1: Blue Man group? Bill loves Bill loves the big season
- 34:42Speaker 1: opening episodes, and he always wants to do big stuff
- 34:46Speaker 1: in those, right, and uh that little Man come from.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I understood it as like Bill, Bill wants to go
- 34:53Speaker 1: to Vegas with the whole cast, and and we find
- 34:57Speaker 1: a reason to make that happen. But also Bill's obsessed
- 35:00Speaker 1: with Blue MANGERO if he loved Blue Angeroo? Oh we did? Ok? Yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 1: now did Blue Man Group. We must have worked out
- 35:06Speaker 1: a deal. I don't know if we paid them or
- 35:07Speaker 1: they paid us, because it was sort of an ad
- 35:09Speaker 1: for them. Yeah. I think it probably helped them more
- 35:12Speaker 1: than it helped us. Well, we went to the club
- 35:14Speaker 1: with the Blue Man Group. Dude, after these two we
- 35:17Speaker 1: did that night? We did? We party with the Blue
- 35:19Speaker 1: Man Group that night. Not only did we party with
- 35:20Speaker 1: the Blue Man Group. I remember the people that were
- 35:23Speaker 1: in the club that night were Kim Kardashian. We went
- 35:26Speaker 1: to town at night Kim Kardashian and but she wasn't
- 35:29Speaker 1: famous Kim Kardashian yet. She wasn't famous Kim Kardashian yet.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I remember them being like, and Kim Kardashian in the
- 35:35Speaker 1: house and I'd be like, and I was like, who
- 35:36Speaker 1: is that and there and someone said it's Paris Hilton's
- 35:39Speaker 1: Sidekick's Paris Hilton's closet, closet organizer or some shit like that.
- 35:44Speaker 1: That's what it was back then. I remember somebody introducing
- 35:47Speaker 1: Kim too me, Hey, Donald, have you ever met Kim before?
- 35:50Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, hey, how's it going? But
- 35:52Speaker 1: I didn't know. She hadn't become the most famous person
- 35:55Speaker 1: in the world yet. She was like Paris Hilton's yea
- 35:58Speaker 1: side side kick at the time. And now forget about
- 36:01Speaker 1: it all right, So Jordan's pregnant. Jordan's pregnant, Jack, who
- 36:05Speaker 1: was talking a lot right now, Jordan's pregnant? Who do
- 36:08Speaker 1: you who? Timmy? You would know who is she pregnant with?
- 36:10Speaker 1: In real life that would probably have been Will I imagine. Okay, yeah,
- 36:16Speaker 1: and Cox gets mad and throws food at Jack's face. Yes,
- 36:22Speaker 1: you guys have lots of children. It must be frustrating
- 36:25Speaker 1: sometimes when they throw food. You want to throw food back. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:29Speaker 1: there was, you do, but you don't. There was one
- 36:33Speaker 1: line in this thing right before they threw the TV
- 36:35Speaker 1: out the window. I just jumping ahead a little bit.
- 36:38Speaker 1: But like when I got back from a well, you know,
- 36:42Speaker 1: we had all the four kids on a vacation and
- 36:43Speaker 1: we got in our minivan. My brother Mike picked us up,
- 36:47Speaker 1: and I was just so devastatingly tired, and Mike one
- 36:52Speaker 1: of the kids dropped his pacifier, one of the twins,
- 36:55Speaker 1: and I was trying to pick it up, and my
- 36:58Speaker 1: back hurt and my my my sternum was in the
- 37:02Speaker 1: stroller wheel and I'm trying to get this pacifier and
- 37:05Speaker 1: I arch up to my back hurts, and I go
- 37:07Speaker 1: in front of the TV and the Minivans is finding
- 37:10Speaker 1: Nemo and my little guy Charlie goes, I can't see Nemo,
- 37:15Speaker 1: and I go, how would you like my fucking fist
- 37:17Speaker 1: in your face? That's what I said to my kid,
- 37:21Speaker 1: And so I remembered when I was watching this, um
- 37:25Speaker 1: the guy goes, I can't see the TV. And then
- 37:27Speaker 1: doctor Cox threw it out of the out of the window,
- 37:29Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my god, it was like PTSD
- 37:31Speaker 1: of having it. That's where it came from. Oh my god. Anyways,
- 37:33Speaker 1: that I'm probably gonna get like Social Services calling me.
- 37:36Speaker 1: But no, Tim doesn't harm his children. He just sometimes
- 37:40Speaker 1: threatened the show, yeah, to put your fist in everywhere.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these
- 37:45Speaker 1: fine words. So there's a great moment in this where
- 37:55Speaker 1: we're talking about ring tones, and Turk's talking about how
- 37:59Speaker 1: he's gonna put instincts bye bye bye into his phone
- 38:02Speaker 1: for the ring tone, and Elliott says, I'm putting Jesus
- 38:07Speaker 1: take the wheel by Carrie Underwood into mine, right, And
- 38:13Speaker 1: Rob Mascio's character to Todd walks by and says, I'm
- 38:16Speaker 1: carrying Underwood. Now. That was the second greatest thing he had,
- 38:23Speaker 1: other than in your endo, in your endow, yeah, Todd.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Todd starts off the episode saying that he has Underwood, um,
- 38:33Speaker 1: which is a good joke. Now, pop rocks and coke.
- 38:36Speaker 1: If you don't know, if you're too young to know,
- 38:37Speaker 1: it was always an old wives tale when we were
- 38:40Speaker 1: growing up that this is a deep cut. But there
- 38:43Speaker 1: used to be an ad for Life Cereal. Life Cereal
- 38:48Speaker 1: was a very popular cereal. I don't know if it's
- 38:50Speaker 1: still popular or not, but I loved it as a kid.
- 38:52Speaker 1: And and the ads, the commercials had a little boy
- 38:55Speaker 1: and he was named Mikey. Yes, and and and he
- 38:59Speaker 1: was adorable, cute commercial kid. And they'd be like, give
- 39:02Speaker 1: it to Mikey, he loves it, right, No, give it
- 39:04Speaker 1: to Mikey, he'll eat anything. He'll eat anything. And then
- 39:07Speaker 1: Mike and then he Mikey would eat Life cereal and
- 39:10Speaker 1: it was adorable and they would say, Mikey likes it.
- 39:14Speaker 1: He likes it. Hey, Mikey, he likes it. Okay, go
- 39:18Speaker 1: look this up on YouTube if you're curious. Well, a
- 39:21Speaker 1: rampant rumor spread that that Mikey, the adorable kid from
- 39:25Speaker 1: the Life commercials, had died. Yes, because exploded. Exploded. He
- 39:30Speaker 1: exploded because he ate pop rocks and coke together. Yes,
- 39:36Speaker 1: like pop rocks. I don't know if you don't know
- 39:38Speaker 1: what pop rocks are. It's a candy that goes in
- 39:40Speaker 1: your mouth and it makes it it fizzes. We show
- 39:42Speaker 1: it in this episode and apparently so as children, we
- 39:46Speaker 1: were terrified if you would explode, like poor Minkey, if
- 39:51Speaker 1: we ever had pop rocks and coke together. Well, but
- 39:54Speaker 1: there's some there's something to all of that because have
- 39:56Speaker 1: you ever seen mintos and coke are mixed and you
- 39:59Speaker 1: see what they can do? Right? I so imagine if
- 40:02Speaker 1: you had mentos in your mouth and that happened. So
- 40:05Speaker 1: the fact that you could see it happened with mintos
- 40:08Speaker 1: only makes it more makes the urban legend even more
- 40:12Speaker 1: of a possibility because it happens with mentos. Minto's explodes
- 40:18Speaker 1: if you put it in a bottle. I must admit
- 40:20Speaker 1: I don't know if Minkey died from pop products. If
- 40:23Speaker 1: you're still alive, so well, can you please google what
- 40:27Speaker 1: happened to Mikey from the Life Sero commercial? And is it?
- 40:31Speaker 1: Is it in fact false? That urban myth? That's gotta
- 40:35Speaker 1: be I haven't thought about that in years. No, but
- 40:41Speaker 1: do you remember that? I remember, I remember being a child.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I remember being a child being afraid that somehow I
- 40:46Speaker 1: would forget and have pop rox and coke and explode
- 40:48Speaker 1: like Minkey. Accidentally, Um I have so so Kim tells
- 40:53Speaker 1: me she's pregnant, and I go, I have to ask
- 40:56Speaker 1: you have there have there been other penises that ad lived?
- 41:01Speaker 1: I don't remember writing that, but that's a great we
- 41:04Speaker 1: have the writer on the show. I'm gonna take um
- 41:06Speaker 1: all you should. I don't think particularly funny. And I
- 41:11Speaker 1: also loved your delivery on uh well, thanks a lot.
- 41:14Speaker 1: That's hilarious, Yeah, hilarious. That's different. That's hilarious. That's hilarious.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I remember loving that joke in the room. So the
- 41:22Speaker 1: Backstreet Boys, Sorry, instinct dancing. That was very funny. I'm
- 41:26Speaker 1: trying to get Turk called Turk, called Turk, call Turk,
- 41:29Speaker 1: and I can't get him because the entire lobby of
- 41:32Speaker 1: this hospital is dancing and rob By, and rob of
- 41:36Speaker 1: course has his shirt off. Ye did we did we
- 41:38Speaker 1: ask you, like, do you remember Donald? If we asked you,
- 41:41Speaker 1: like what song we should use for that? No, you
- 41:43Speaker 1: guys came in and we're like, we're gonna use Bye
- 41:44Speaker 1: Bye Bye. And I was like, that's fine, that's perfect. Sweet. See,
- 41:48Speaker 1: I do remember. I do remember this, and I thought
- 41:53Speaker 1: it was really weird, but I remembered it, and then
- 41:57Speaker 1: it happened in the show. But when you're on that,
- 41:59Speaker 1: you're in front of the deck still, and I knew
- 42:01Speaker 1: that something like this had happened. I just couldn't remember it.
- 42:04Speaker 1: And you say something to the effect of, you know,
- 42:07Speaker 1: I should and my bed. There's a party on the deck. Yes,
- 42:10Speaker 1: the gay seniors. You got to set up, right, the
- 42:12Speaker 1: gay seniors are having a party on my deck. And
- 42:15Speaker 1: I'm hammered, right, and you say, and Jad says something
- 42:19Speaker 1: to the likings of I should be with one of
- 42:21Speaker 1: you guys, I should marry My life would be easier
- 42:25Speaker 1: if I married one of you guys and then he
- 42:27Speaker 1: passes out and they freaking form a freaking like a funeral.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Is that a procession? When they're in line? Like procession?
- 42:35Speaker 1: Let's roll, boys, it's a procession of Volkswagen bugs. I
- 42:41Speaker 1: remember shooting that, and I remember you've just been obsessed
- 42:44Speaker 1: with that lame miss that well, it's misses in town. Yeah,
- 42:51Speaker 1: I assumed I could get them off every I kept
- 42:53Speaker 1: ja jad Is the second time trying to get the
- 42:56Speaker 1: gay seniors off his deck using lame miss as a
- 42:59Speaker 1: lures in town. And it's and they didn't. They didn't
- 43:03Speaker 1: fall for it. Instead, they pretty much take advantage of
- 43:07Speaker 1: my incapacitation and try and gay marry me. You heard him.
- 43:14Speaker 1: But I think that's consent what you said consent. I
- 43:17Speaker 1: don't think it's consent. It's iron you said it. My
- 43:20Speaker 1: life would be easier if I would just married one
- 43:22Speaker 1: of you guys. You heard him, girl, Yeah, Well, all
- 43:23Speaker 1: I know is I wake up and I'm about to
- 43:26Speaker 1: be married in Vegas to a man. And then Donald
- 43:29Speaker 1: gets to Vegas way too fast? Yes, four hour, it's
- 43:33Speaker 1: what is it? Four and a half hours? If you're
- 43:34Speaker 1: driving fast, yeah, but where did we should what do
- 43:37Speaker 1: we say this? Well, we we always you know that's true.
- 43:40Speaker 1: It was never specific. We've we've in in in five seasons.
- 43:44Speaker 1: We've sort of deduced that it's Los Angeles. Los Angeles, y,
- 43:47Speaker 1: you know why we had a fake name in the
- 43:49Speaker 1: writer's room of the place. I can't remember it though.
- 43:52Speaker 1: The real Kicker was Sarah takes a train to to
- 43:58Speaker 1: AC World. I know, I know by the way. I
- 44:01Speaker 1: can't just you're hearing you say, kicker. I can't wait
- 44:03Speaker 1: to get to my favorite scene. Okay, let's keep moving,
- 44:06Speaker 1: so you're all dancing. Kelso gets into it. For some reason,
- 44:09Speaker 1: he spikes the lens when he says this is yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 1: he did. I noticed that. I don't know what that was.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Was sort of a weird choice. John Inwood, our cinematographer,
- 44:18Speaker 1: directed this, so I don't know why our wonderful DP
- 44:21Speaker 1: made it in such an odd choice. But for no reason,
- 44:24Speaker 1: Kelso spikes the lens when he says that line, yeah,
- 44:29Speaker 1: good guy, um so so, um, we're in Vegas. Sorry,
- 44:34Speaker 1: we're in Vegas and we do the whole Blue Man
- 44:37Speaker 1: Group thing. I remember it being a lot of fun.
- 44:40Speaker 1: We because we just all we did to do was
- 44:42Speaker 1: shoot that quick um walk and talk with Donald and
- 44:45Speaker 1: the Blue Man group thing, which we which didn't did
- 44:48Speaker 1: it all in a day. We literally did it in
- 44:50Speaker 1: in the maybe a half a day, yeah half, because
- 44:53Speaker 1: then we had the rest of the night. And then
- 44:55Speaker 1: we party. The whole crew, the whole crew and cast
- 44:59Speaker 1: was there. I remember having an amazing time and great
- 45:03Speaker 1: we took over blackjack tables together and yeah, and you
- 45:08Speaker 1: guys were living the life of Riley. We were, you know,
- 45:10Speaker 1: Bill huge hands because I remember I remember watching Bill
- 45:14Speaker 1: bet huge hands because he was much richer than we were,
- 45:19Speaker 1: and and uh and I was way more inebriated than
- 45:22Speaker 1: and it was a lot of fun to watch him
- 45:24Speaker 1: bet like really stupidly giant hands of blackjack. I'd never
- 45:27Speaker 1: seen someone do that. I do remember you guys being
- 45:30Speaker 1: like hungover the rest of the week. Oh whenever, whenever
- 45:34Speaker 1: we were shooting. Oh man, there were so many hungover
- 45:37Speaker 1: stories from I mean, I wonder how that worked, Like
- 45:40Speaker 1: we didn't like we we we were shooting two episodes
- 45:43Speaker 1: that this is so at some point we were shooting
- 45:46Speaker 1: two episodes at a time, weren't we weren't we doing
- 45:48Speaker 1: something where we were doing At some point it seemed
- 45:50Speaker 1: like we were shooting. We weren't shooting like this season alone.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I don't think we shot in order like I think
- 45:59Speaker 1: there was that's right, right. I think there was some
- 46:03Speaker 1: times where we were doing other shows that were gonna
- 46:07Speaker 1: be before and then. I don't know. I don't know.
- 46:10Speaker 1: The show is always there was The show was always
- 46:12Speaker 1: shot on him on a Monday through Friday schedule. I
- 46:14Speaker 1: don't know how he would have gone Vegas partied huge
- 46:17Speaker 1: and like been back and yeah, they had to be
- 46:21Speaker 1: shooting somehow. That was scheduled, so there had to be
- 46:23Speaker 1: two units. Okay, so um, so um is this the
- 46:28Speaker 1: first it's Beard Fosse damnit? Second second? Okay, so Beard
- 46:33Speaker 1: Fosse uh has a catchphrase? Yeah, And she was gonna
- 46:37Speaker 1: and Eliot was gonna mount him. I don't know why
- 46:39Speaker 1: he didn't take it up on that, right? Why was
- 46:42Speaker 1: against being mounted by Elliot? She could call him anything,
- 46:47Speaker 1: I mean, what was he thinking? Yeah, well, he may
- 46:50Speaker 1: not be into women. Um, he certainly didn't take the
- 46:54Speaker 1: lure of being mounted by Elliott who's not attractive. I mean,
- 46:58Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know what happened there. Yeah,
- 47:01Speaker 1: This made me laugh. Coincidentally, I have a cousin named
- 47:04Speaker 1: shit Daisy. That was hilarious. Tim, Where did this um
- 47:11Speaker 1: this convention come from? If do you recall even of
- 47:14Speaker 1: having uh, the three three of us confront mirror sort
- 47:20Speaker 1: of different images of ourselves. I think it was like
- 47:23Speaker 1: just one of these again. It was like the first
- 47:25Speaker 1: one of the season. Bill always wanted to do really
- 47:28Speaker 1: cool stuff, and I think having you guys played for
- 47:31Speaker 1: you know, different versions of yourself felt really cool at
- 47:34Speaker 1: the time. Well, missus zb is not a name. And
- 47:38Speaker 1: by the way, you're a handsome, handsome woman. I did
- 47:41Speaker 1: a natter school special called My Summer as a Girl,
- 47:44Speaker 1: which I encourage you all to google image. We talked
- 47:47Speaker 1: about it with Gabby as well. Yes, so I did it.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I did a natter school special when I was in
- 47:53Speaker 1: at Northwestern, um uh what during a summer break, called
- 47:57Speaker 1: My Summer as a Girl. It's a masterpiece. Let me
- 48:01Speaker 1: ask you a question. Please look for please look for
- 48:03Speaker 1: clips on YouTube and enjoy When you were at Northwestern
- 48:07Speaker 1: and that and the movie and you were filming the movie,
- 48:10Speaker 1: were you like big man on campus? Like I fucking
- 48:12Speaker 1: got a job? Some of you don't even have jobs yet. Well,
- 48:15Speaker 1: it was during a summer break, and I remember I
- 48:17Speaker 1: came back, well, when I went to North Restaurant, I
- 48:20Speaker 1: had just done a small part in Manhattan Murder Mystery,
- 48:22Speaker 1: and that I was very proud of because that was
- 48:24Speaker 1: a huge deal. And I remember being feeling a cool
- 48:27Speaker 1: kid about that. Right, this after school special was pretty
- 48:30Speaker 1: dark and cheesy and I and I I knew it,
- 48:34Speaker 1: and I think I was a little embarrassed. I didn't
- 48:37Speaker 1: It wasn't like I was coming back like, oh, I
- 48:39Speaker 1: was in something dope, but the check was very meanful
- 48:42Speaker 1: to me as a college kid, and uh, and I
- 48:44Speaker 1: remember being thrilled about that. But I remember feeling like
- 48:47Speaker 1: like I was in a fraternity like everyone. I remember
- 48:50Speaker 1: everyone gathering around to watch it, and this is awesome.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Doctor Cox would have loved it now as a girl. Yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 1: and and I I the actual special just pretty much
- 49:03Speaker 1: stole the plot of Tutsie. I. I couldn't get a
- 49:06Speaker 1: job and I needed a job, and I dressed up
- 49:08Speaker 1: like a woman. But anyway, I and now one I looked.
- 49:12Speaker 1: I've been told I'd looked like the actress Heather Monterrozzoum,
- 49:17Speaker 1: which makes sense because we wants to play brother and
- 49:19Speaker 1: he wants played brother, and Heather is way prettier. But
- 49:24Speaker 1: but but we wants played brother and sister together. So
- 49:27Speaker 1: so it made sense this one. I don't know. I
- 49:29Speaker 1: don't think I look like I'm gonna say, but no
- 49:31Speaker 1: disrespect to the actress who then we morphed into you.
- 49:35Speaker 1: But I think you were prettier than the actress. Are
- 49:38Speaker 1: you say that's not nice? Well, I'm sorry, it's well
- 49:43Speaker 1: you're you're saying that if you had to choose, if
- 49:45Speaker 1: you were at a bar and you were gonna take
- 49:46Speaker 1: one of us home, you would affected missus ZB. Yes,
- 49:51Speaker 1: I would have gone home with you that night. For
- 49:53Speaker 1: those of you as high as Donald you might not know.
- 49:59Speaker 1: You might not know that missus ZB as my initials
- 50:02Speaker 1: z B oh shit, Come on Jesus for I have
- 50:15Speaker 1: another question now. And I'm from the African American community,
- 50:20Speaker 1: really really, but what the fuck is a funky cold Medina? Oh?
- 50:24Speaker 1: There was a song, funky cole Medina it was and
- 50:28Speaker 1: Tone Loke wrote the song, right, know the song? But
- 50:31Speaker 1: what is it funky cold Medina? No? No, no, what
- 50:34Speaker 1: is it? The premise of the song, Um that it
- 50:37Speaker 1: made Pete. It was like it was afrodisiact. Joel, you're
- 50:40Speaker 1: the pop caled Well you don't know. Joel was like,
- 50:46Speaker 1: I don't know what that sh is. You never heard
- 50:48Speaker 1: of funky cole Medina. It was a song. I know
- 50:50Speaker 1: the song, but funky what does it mean? I believe
- 50:54Speaker 1: I recall there was a video and I think funky
- 50:56Speaker 1: cole Medina was an afrodisiact drink that would make the
- 50:59Speaker 1: lead eats all want sir mix who sang that song?
- 51:03Speaker 1: Oh sorry, okay date rape drug? No sensual, No, it
- 51:10Speaker 1: was consensual, it was I believe it was. It just okay.
- 51:16Speaker 1: The women, the women, I believe knew they were drinking
- 51:18Speaker 1: and after dzact drink and off base here So so no, no, no.
- 51:23Speaker 1: The Urban Dictionary is agreeing with you. Generally, anything to
- 51:26Speaker 1: help you get loose or let loose. And medina what's
- 51:29Speaker 1: a commentary name for black families in Spanish. So I
- 51:33Speaker 1: don't think it's like it's just it helps you get loose,
- 51:36Speaker 1: have fun, Joel, can you scroll through the video on
- 51:38Speaker 1: YouTube and see if I'm correct in that women would
- 51:42Speaker 1: drink it and then want to bang tone. Look, it
- 51:46Speaker 1: comes full circle to me going home with you if
- 51:48Speaker 1: you were a woman in the bar though, If you yeah,
- 51:54Speaker 1: I saw you, then then that's a lap. It wasn't
- 51:57Speaker 1: like a roofy thing. It was like you drink it
- 52:00Speaker 1: and all of a sudden you're like that, give oh,
- 52:02Speaker 1: we found a recipe. Okay, one ounce of Absolute vodka
- 52:07Speaker 1: Southern Comfort, and Luke curs, correct, go, I don't know.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Thank you over ice with Cranberry. Jee. Please just answer
- 52:19Speaker 1: my query about whether in the video um the storyline.
- 52:25Speaker 1: I just want to I don't have the best memory,
- 52:26Speaker 1: and I just want to know if, if, if I'm
- 52:28Speaker 1: correct that in the storyline of the video was that
- 52:32Speaker 1: women changed their attitude towards tone Loaf once they'd had
- 52:39Speaker 1: I think that's a you could connect those doubts, right,
- 52:42Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know, all right, Donald, your
- 52:45Speaker 1: joke exactly? If I say this, I don't. I don't
- 52:48Speaker 1: know if you're driving this thing, but I do tend
- 52:50Speaker 1: to drive the thing, Tim, But you're you're like much
- 52:53Speaker 1: like Bill entrusting the writer's room to well I did.
- 52:57Speaker 1: I loved when you were with the motorcycle, a thin
- 53:00Speaker 1: guy and you said, he said, what's up? We were
- 53:07Speaker 1: off the rails this season. Man, Like, there's so many
- 53:09Speaker 1: things that happened in the season where I'm like, what
- 53:12Speaker 1: not just this episode alone? Like we came off at
- 53:15Speaker 1: five and I was like, this is kind of crazy,
- 53:17Speaker 1: But dude, you hide in between my legs where the
- 53:20Speaker 1: pedals breaks love it and that and then it is
- 53:28Speaker 1: on the verge of the backpack thing. How I fit there?
- 53:30Speaker 1: But I I did fit there, I guess, But why
- 53:34Speaker 1: didn't she see me? You're hiding under the freaking You're
- 53:39Speaker 1: where the the pedal and the brake are. The reason
- 53:44Speaker 1: people loved you guys together so much is like encapsulated
- 53:47Speaker 1: in that charades thing, right, I got that so great?
- 53:54Speaker 1: The baby CPR class. We are so going to kill
- 53:57Speaker 1: this Charades tournament this weekend. People just love you guys.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Where did where did they? When did they get in?
- 54:06Speaker 1: A First of all, how did they get into the
- 54:07Speaker 1: Charides tournament? Second, his wife is pregnant. Where's the he
- 54:12Speaker 1: think he's going this weekend? Get out of here. We've
- 54:16Speaker 1: been practicing for Sharides tournament. I feel like we've given
- 54:20Speaker 1: up on the Mighty Kites Club that hasn't gotten attentions.
- 54:24Speaker 1: We haven't started the Mighty Kites Club yet, have we
- 54:28Speaker 1: that's coming up? That's like, I think Mighty Kites while
- 54:32Speaker 1: I was still there. That was definitely while I was
- 54:33Speaker 1: still there. Because I wasn't there for season A lot
- 54:35Speaker 1: of hardcore fans. What about shower shorts? Shower shorts? Oh
- 54:39Speaker 1: my god, I love shower shorts. So the man who
- 54:42Speaker 1: has nothing to hide but still wants to one of
- 54:45Speaker 1: my favorite things out me too. Still wait to Tim,
- 54:48Speaker 1: But you wrote the first episode for season six, but
- 54:51Speaker 1: then I left. I didn't stay for season six. Got it? Okay,
- 54:54Speaker 1: let me get this straight to him, because I want
- 54:55Speaker 1: to get into one of my favorite jokes in all
- 54:58Speaker 1: of this whole Room Scrubs, which is the JD explaining
- 55:02Speaker 1: how he got him. Um, it seems to me that
- 55:07Speaker 1: the that JD ejaculated to his own dirty talk is
- 55:12Speaker 1: that what happened. Yes, you got sucked up in your
- 55:16Speaker 1: own dirty right, So what really happened was that they
- 55:20Speaker 1: did they weren't just we'll go into what he says,
- 55:22Speaker 1: but he what seems to have happened in the macro
- 55:26Speaker 1: is that JD started using dirty talks and turned himself
- 55:32Speaker 1: on so much with his own dirty talk that he
- 55:36Speaker 1: prematurely ejaculated near yes, yes, some septen. I mean, I
- 55:46Speaker 1: just want you, like as a fan, I just want
- 55:48Speaker 1: you to read that MODELO. It was just so my god,
- 55:52Speaker 1: I want I wrote down some key points. There was
- 55:54Speaker 1: some unexpect It's very tricky to describe um ejaculating prematurely
- 56:00Speaker 1: on a woman's vagina on on NBC in a Disney show,
- 56:10Speaker 1: and it starts with you getting turned down by your
- 56:12Speaker 1: own dirty tech. Yeah, thanks Disney. Um, all right, so
- 56:17Speaker 1: I say that there was some I say, can I
- 56:20Speaker 1: confide in you guys? And they're sure? And I say,
- 56:24Speaker 1: we never, um, we got naked, we need it up.
- 56:28Speaker 1: And uh, there was some unexpected friendly fire. Wait a second,
- 56:34Speaker 1: you telling me that you yeah, I know I got
- 56:37Speaker 1: yet and I go and I never, I never got
- 56:39Speaker 1: a chance to enter the village. Wait wait, hold on
- 56:43Speaker 1: you saying that you didn't ye and there was an
- 56:47Speaker 1: airstrike on an outlying region. Yeah, my god, you should
- 56:56Speaker 1: have wont to Emmy for this speech, which to me
- 57:00Speaker 1: is that how it starts off to. It's like and
- 57:02Speaker 1: I confide in you guys, yeah, and trying not to laugh.
- 57:05Speaker 1: It's the funniest damn thing I tell you guys something
- 57:07Speaker 1: real quick, because I don't. I mean, it's it's great
- 57:10Speaker 1: to have friends that you can be like that. I'm
- 57:12Speaker 1: sure we all like tim. I'm sure you have stories
- 57:15Speaker 1: like this all oh yeah, yeah, yeah, where it's like
- 57:17Speaker 1: my wife twins came about. Well, I'm saying, my wife
- 57:21Speaker 1: doesn't have to do much anymore. Like when we're out
- 57:23Speaker 1: and about, she'll I'm sure Bill told me a story
- 57:27Speaker 1: similar to this. One's too, But my wife will talk
- 57:29Speaker 1: the dirtiest to me in the car ride home like
- 57:32Speaker 1: it's going down. Oh shit, we're gonna do oh and
- 57:35Speaker 1: then we're gonna do this, And I'm like, oh yeah,
- 57:37Speaker 1: I can't wait to get home, and I'm all exciting
- 57:40Speaker 1: and everything, and we get home and within seconds like that,
- 57:45Speaker 1: all because of the dirty talking. So you the dirty talk.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Do you think that's by design the case? I don't
- 57:52Speaker 1: want this ship to go on forever, so absolutely, yes,
- 57:57Speaker 1: it's it is. She goes. She will go into oh
- 58:02Speaker 1: you want to do that, I'm gonna let you do this,
- 58:04Speaker 1: and they're gonna do that, and then all I'm gonna
- 58:06Speaker 1: do this that JD did that to himself. Yeah, it
- 58:10Speaker 1: doesn't even sound like Kim was participating in the dirty
- 58:14Speaker 1: no no, no, he was doing it all well, Turt goes,
- 58:16Speaker 1: Turt goes, Turt does say, oh she like it a
- 58:18Speaker 1: dirty talk. Yeah, no, I think I and I believe,
- 58:21Speaker 1: I say, no, I do. I I find it, yeah,
- 58:25Speaker 1: saying something that I find it? Uh, what do you say?
- 58:29Speaker 1: I see something like I think the ladies ladies like it.
- 58:32Speaker 1: And then and then I forgot what I say something yeah,
- 58:35Speaker 1: But but you're basically bring it around to like it's
- 58:38Speaker 1: your dirty talk that turns you on. Yes, And then
- 58:42Speaker 1: I'd love to see what that dirty. The way you
- 58:44Speaker 1: said penetration was so funny too, as the kind of
- 58:47Speaker 1: the woody Allen come, I would tell you sorry, I
- 58:49Speaker 1: forgot to say you. I went to the or the
- 58:52Speaker 1: petist because I'm having some some back issues. And uh,
- 58:57Speaker 1: they have a TV. They're always playing random nature shows
- 59:02Speaker 1: or whatever. They played random TV on in the lot
- 59:04Speaker 1: in the in the waiting room, and I walk in
- 59:06Speaker 1: and Psych is playing huge with subtitles, you know, because
- 59:10Speaker 1: it's off the volumes off on the TV. And I
- 59:12Speaker 1: got a mask on. I mean, I know they know
- 59:14Speaker 1: my name from the from the monitors, their computers and
- 59:17Speaker 1: everything I get an appointment, but I don't. It doesn't.
- 59:20Speaker 1: It doesn't really cross my mind that they recognize me
- 59:22Speaker 1: because I've got a mask on and everything, and they
- 59:25Speaker 1: and they go. One of them goes, does that bother you?
- 59:30Speaker 1: Or playing psych? Fuck? It's like curbing Enthusiasm. And I'm
- 59:35Speaker 1: like and I'm like, well, I will say, of all
- 59:39Speaker 1: the infinite television shows you guys could be playing, you
- 59:43Speaker 1: happen to be playing the one that that does seem
- 59:46Speaker 1: to come closest to two hours. Yea, and you this
- 59:50Speaker 1: is a doctor's office, why not just put on ours?
- 59:58Speaker 1: So sorry, I know that was an secret, but I
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: have a question to Okay, So there's two things that
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: happen in this season that I thought were that happens
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: from here on out. But I think this is the
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: year that Ken all of a sudden starts to get
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: the monologues with the zinger at the end, and then
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: then he walks out, you know what I mean? So, yeah,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Ken gets the the This is when I feel like
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: this is when it started where because he has the
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: whole thing, in this whole in this scene where he
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: gives a story, but at the end of the story,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I forget what it was. But at the end of
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: the story there's a zinger for whoever he's telling the
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: story too, like you know your life is this with
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: the zinger at the end. I believe this is when
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: it starts happening. He has it with the janitor at
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: one point, and I wish I would have wrote it down.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I did write down. I did write down the example
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: of it, but I didn't write down what exactly what
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: he said. And so well, they're talking about things on
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: their bucket list and oh no, sorry, that's the janitor
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: with the old man version of the janitor, and he says,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: do things on your bucket list, and the janitor is
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: suggest punching a whale, and the old man said, oh,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I thought, went down like listen. Yeah, went down like listen.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: That's right, went down like listing. What's listen? Box sunny listen,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: sunny Listen. Was a boxer. He was the if I'm correct,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: the champ before Muhammed Ali. Muhammed Ali took the title
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: from him. Nice Ken is funny in this episode he's
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: but that's what I'm saying. This was when the assassin.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: The assassin became the assassin like he was already he
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: was always funny, but now he has a specific role
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: in the show, like his job is to come in
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: say uh an important sentence, but at the end give
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: a singer it's yeah, that's true. Well, he comes over
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: to me and he says, let's come to my attention
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: that you're having a RELATIONSHIPSIP with a colleague, and I
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: need to know about that. M was she naughty? I
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: thought she was all? She was a help, you know what?
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Never mind? Never mind, all right, let's let's so we're
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: gonna say a quick break everybody, as we do, and
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: we're gonna bringing a guest and talking about and hopefully
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: they'll be delightful. We'll be right back. So we got
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: all games. We can talk sta you know, like a
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: boa smoke, some jazz, maybe talking about the episode. So
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: come on, Joan, let's get the show. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: give it up for Matthew Choco. Guys, tell us one
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: of you is Matthew. Who's the other? We're bold you.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Oh that makes it very easy. Yes, And I can
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: just solely tell by your very young faces that you win.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Youngest guest we've ever had show. Ever, how old are you, guys? Nineteen?
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I'm eight, nineteen twenty. Oh, well you look you both
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: look a bit younger, younger, you're gonna your fake id's
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: are not gonna work when you get You're wearing a
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: merch from the podcast, which we appreciate it. Yes, And
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: on the wall behind you, is that a is that
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: what is that behind you? Is that a BoJack thing? Yeah? Okay,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: we like BoJack, so do we? Yeah, welcome to the program. Guys.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: We're so up when when young folks find the show,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: because you know, we were never friends level successful the show,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: So when when when when younger generations find it? We're
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: always so happy. How did you guys find it? Discover
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: your parents or something? Um? I had a friend, one
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: of my best friends back home, told me, you have
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: to watch Scrubs. It's so funny. And so I watched it,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: and then I watched it again, and then I watched
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: it again. Oh thanks man, thank you man. You know
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: what you should do. You should tell all your friends
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: the same thing we do, because your generation is obsessed
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: with friends and uh and donal would really like in
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: the office, and you know, but we'd like to we'd
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: like someone I'd love to you know what I mean. Yeah, guys.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: This is a Tim Hobart who's one of the writers
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: of the show, and he wrote this particular episode we're
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: talking about. Um, Tim, say hi to the young men, matth,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Matthew and Matthew. Tim has kids your age, so he
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: knows what Joel, Tim's Tim's son is actually our really
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: good and close friend, Charlie. Really wait a second, Joel
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: hooked me up. Oh Joel, what the hell's going on here?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: What is going on here? And there? You know what
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: is going on here? Trying to here I am bragging
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: about how a new generation is finding Scrubs. It's the
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: fucking writer's son's friend. But wait a minute, Zach, Zach.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: These guys are giant Scrubs fans and both theater nerds,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: and one of them is also a sports freak. So
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: it's like, it's all what you and Donald are about.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: I know, you guys are the eye of the Me
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: and Donald storm if you like, especially which which one
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: of you like sports and musicals? Wow? The one that
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: has a Boston Celtics had on, Zach. Oh, sorry, well,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: I love that because that's a rare Donald and Bill
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: are both rare examples of the of the of of
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: men who love both musicals and sports. Yea very small circle.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: There's not a lot of us in the ven diagram.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: There's not a whole lot. No, yeah, no, there's probably
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: seven of you on Earth Boys gentlemen, sorry, young men.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Did you have a question for us? Yes, we each
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: had a question. I guess I'll go first. Yeah, okay. Um,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: my question is about the guest stars that you guys had.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: It relates to the guest stars that you guys had
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: on Scrubs, because obviously you had an incredible cast there
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: every week, but you also got to work with like
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: some really cool people, um that just came in for
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: an episode or two. Um. But I have a question
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: for you guys. If you guys could guest star on
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: a show. Oh, good question, Um, what would you choose? Oh?
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: You will? You already know, Matthew, I do know. I
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: had a feeling that your answer his answer is going
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: to come in the form of a of a singing
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: an orchestral theme. D D dude, speaking of the Mandalorian.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Thank you for the beautiful segue. Matthew, did you watch
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: this weekend? No, I have watched Wednesday. You have not
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: watched Wednesday. I haven't watched The Newest Joel. Have you
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: watched the book? I know you, I know you did. Yeah.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Bad for the actor playing Boat because people are most
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: excited about episodes he's not in. Yeah, yeah, that's that
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: kind of sucks. That does kind of suck. Yeah, that
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: does kind of suck. But I got in episodes he
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: wasn't in. Thank you, right, But but I will say this,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: thank you for not putting them in those episodes and
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: putting out what you put out, because those have been
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: two of the best Star Wars period in a long time,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: in a long long time, and it's so good that
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: I would even say I could watch that show even
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: if there's no action in it. I could watch that.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: You know, there's something that for some reason, it's not
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: in a lot of Star Wars movies, and it's always
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: a small part of it, and it should be way more.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: But the training is so fucking fire. Why do we
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: keep going away from this? Why do we keep doing
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: other things? My point is, fucking h Bubba Fett episode six,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: best Star Wars I've seen a long time. Anyway, let's
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: move on, all right, I'm gonna go for it. There's
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: a comedy I love called The other two. I love
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: that great show. Yeah, I think you you guys should
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: watch it because it's got it definitely is a scrub
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: as he as humor. It's about it's on what is
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: it on these days? I think it's h bil Max,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: h Biel Max, check it out. It's about It's about
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: a family. Molly Shannon plays the mom and uh and
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: and there's three siblings and one becomes a huge like
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Justin Bieber level pop star and the other two are
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: kind of fuck ups. And it's about the other two
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: trying to live with like a new mega famous Justin
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Bieber brother and it's hilarious. There's two seasons I would
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: love to be be on that show. That's the one
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: that first came to my mind. On the other side
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: of the spectrum, I would say Succession because that's such
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: a good show. You know what. You know what, just
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: the soundtrack alone for Secession is fucking fire, dude. Yeah.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: The theme song is actually comes on up yo. That
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: song comes on and I'm like a spit game five,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: like playing five, like kind of no where to start rappers.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: I know somebody, some rappers should sample that for sure.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I love a good theme song. Yeah, so anything in
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: the Star Wars universe. Lawrence and I have a specific
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: dance we do to the British Bakeoff theme song Love.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: It is very brave of you to admit it's a
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: great theme. Okay, next question, Yes, Matthew, Matthew number two revivals.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: They're a really big thing in theater right now. I
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: know we've just got Music Man revival with Yes. I
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: can't wait, Yes, and Sutton Foster. But Hugh Jackman is
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: going back, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster going back to
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Broadway to do the It's it's in previews about to open.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: It's it's it's gonna be the show of the year.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: It's huge. Can he win again? Can he get nominated again?
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: For that? Though? Is that poss never opened? My bro
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Oh wait a second. Didn't Hugh Jackman do The music
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Man on Broadway like five years ago? No? You Jackman
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: and Sutton Foster were going to open the show last
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: year it got COVID, COVID afied God and so everything
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: got pushed and now it's about to open. And for
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: those of you who don't know, Sutton Foster is like
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: one of the biggest Broadway stars there is she's incredible.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: She can dance, she can sing. A lot of people
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: just know her from that show Younger. Oh yeah, you
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: might know her from Younger if you she's she's awesome,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: she's a friend of mine. She's so fucking cool, and
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: she can She's like one of the best tap dancers
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: on Broadway, and and and and Hugh is a really
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: good tap dancer. So you know they're gonna do a
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: big ass tap dance number in music Man anyway, y yes,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: you got me all we got me all round. This
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: is like, this is like you talking Mandalorian I got
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: AULTI late about the music Man anyway. The music Man.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: Just so you know, The music Man was my I
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: think I probably said this before because we've done a
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: lot of these, but The music Man was my very
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: first audition for the community theater production. I I auditioned
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: for Winthrope The Little Boy Um and then got got
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: a chorus part and did it. But there he goes
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: my very first audition that was me with Oliver. Oliver
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: was what did you get? I did get Dodger and
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: I was also in the chorus, so I got to
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: pick pockets and stuff. Because I love the artful Dodger.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: I played the artful Dodger at the at theater camp.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Not to brag or anything, So anyway, producers are looking
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: to modernize those stories and reinvent important moments. If you
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: guys could revive any musical, what musical would you choose
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: to revive and how would you monitor modern Great question?
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Great question. These guys are on fire. They must go
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: to I bet you they go to a posh LA
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: private school Wisconsin in what in Milwaukee? Yeah? I thought
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: because they were your son's friends that they Oh are
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: you at Madison mar Mart? Okay, d Wade? D Wade
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: went to Markette Yo, And yeah, and your point. And
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: not only did d Wade go to market, but didn't
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: your boy Jimmy Buckets go to Markette too? Yeah, Dame,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: I'm not wearing my dwain Wade jersey right now. Wait
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: for Miami. It's a great question, Donald, Do you have
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: an answer? So if I could? A trend on Broadway
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: again for those of you who have no interest or care,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: is often to take these musicals. Some people do a
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: traditional version like I think music Man is a pre
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: traditional version of it, and some people deconstruct it like
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: there's a touring version of Oklahoma, I recommend if it
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: comes to your city. You see where they really deconstructed
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Oklahoma and did a really kind of out of the box,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: darker version of the story. And they're doing some did
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: one with West Side story, so that that's the sort
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: of trend. But they're they're taking the same music in
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: the same dialogue and just putting it in a different setting. Yeah,
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: but it's like saying, like, this isn't your grandmother's Oklahoma.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: This is gonna like Oklahoma has some dark shit that
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: happens in it, and we're gonna tease all that out.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: And uh gosh. The first thing that came to my
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: mind was either Pippin or God's Spell. Those are favorites
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: of mine. Um that could be, that could be, That
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: could be cool to deconstruct Donald don't say the Whiz
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: go well, the Whiz was deconstructed. Actually that was the
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: deconstruction check. I would I would if I could change,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: if I could, if if he says the Mandalorian, I'm
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: signing off. I wouldn't turn any show into the Mandalorian,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: but I would definitely I would find I would want
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: to redo chorus line because I think all the music
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: and all of that stuff is great, and the dancing
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: is great and takes places on the stage, but theater
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: is a lot different than it was back then, you
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: know what I mean, It's way different, and so maybe
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: spice up them, maybe spice up the music a little bit,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: change the dance numbers a little bit to something more
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: modern and everything like that. So if I could do anything,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: maybe chorus line would be the one you can't go music.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: That was my father's favorite show. He saw you can't
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: go wrong with that music though. That's why Zach, that
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: really need this job. Great fucking number. I've got to
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: get this job. Who am I any I know? Oh? Fine?
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Ah way, this is the best line. This was the
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: commercial for the damn show. Who am I anyway? God?
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Am I my resume? I don't know what the res
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: didn't know what story about the Spielberg West Side? Another version,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: did you watch you by the way? Don't you just
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: got it to me? Me and my wife have a
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: date night tonight. Oh good watch it please? Because I
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: thought it was I granted, I don't know who the
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: audience is other than me and people who love musicals.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: But it's beautiful. The cinematography, Yannist Kaminski, the costumes, the
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: sets that it's uh and a young gal named Rachel
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Zelger who is a Jersey native. That's why I root
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: for her won the cattle casting and is incredible and
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: I highly recommend you check it out. We're going to
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: watch it tonight. I loved it. It was beautiful, one
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: of the prettiest movies I've ever seen cinematography. If he
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: doesn't win, I mean there was a lot of great
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Simmons argents here. In fact, Tick Tick Boom, which was
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: the other musical, which I loved even we both I
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: loved it and I have such a man crush on
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Andrew Garfield. Now, now, doesn't I have a very serious
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: question to ask the two of you. Yeah, okay, did
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: you like a lot? Oh boy, this interview is over.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Good night, guys. I don't like that pause. Thank you.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: We're done. We're done, We're done. Just lie to him.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: He used to drunk, used to love you guys. You guys,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: he used to if you recall, he used to drunk
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: tweet about it on the airplanes. He would get hammered,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: put it on and drunk tweet about. I would get
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: pissed off about how Emma freaking leaves Ryan for freaking
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: the dude from the that thing you do. No, he
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: would be like, I'd be like, checking this is back
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: when I was really reading Twitter, and I'd be like, oh, no,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: he's drunk tweeting about and he'd be like, he invested
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: in her career. Why couldn't he play jazz in Paris? Shit,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: it's real talk. So Tim, you don't know this, you
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: know your opinion, But Zach, what do I think? It's amazing?
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I love it it has I thought that. I thought
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: the music was beautiful. I thought the way it was
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: shot was beautiful. I love both those actors. I think
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Emma Stone can do no wrong and I really like
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Ryan Gosling. I thought it was and people said, oh,
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: anyone's critique of it, like, I don't agree with. I
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: love the ending, the way they the way they handled
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: like the other dimension where they had where things had
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: worked out, And I just thought it was so beautiful.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: And I'm the biggest sucker in the world for a
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: love that cannot be in love that doesn't work out
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: and directors who have the balls to make movies without
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: the happy ending, And that's the best part about it. Man. Yeah,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I you know I love I love If you want
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: to make me cry, the story is gonna be uh
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: love that cannot be either romantic love familiar love. I'm
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: just that's that's I'm a sucker for that. M all right, boys,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: it's time for Wisconsin's favorite segments. It's time to fix
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: your life the next shit, it's gonna be a mutual fix.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I hope we can help. Okay. Yeah. Um So, as
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: I said before, I'm a huge, huge sports fan. Um
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: like more than musicals or is it equal? It's equal,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Like I'm a theater major. So like that's what I
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: want to do with my life. But it's almost unhealthy
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: how much my emotional status is connected to whether my
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: team wins or loses. What are your teams out in?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: The Boston Celtics? Um So, it's weird because they're all
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: over the place. So the New Orleans Saints is my
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: football team, Okay, Celtics is my basketball team, and the
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: San Francisco Giants is my baseball team. Now, what's your
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: hockey team? The Boston Bruins really yeah? Also Seattle Crack
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: because that's near where I'm and your cricket team, my
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: favorite tennis player, who's your favorite tennis play Who's you
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: favorite tennis player on the hands down? Is he the
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: one that keeps trying to sneak into Australia? Yeah, Djokovic,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: stop stop trying to get into Australia. Bron He probably
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: would have won that Open if he would have got
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: in that. He keeps trying to sneak in, being like
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I took I took the horse thing, I took the
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: horse shit tournament, all right, took ahead. So anyway, Yeah,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: the question is I guess, well, he lets sports teams
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: command his mood. I wake up in the morning and
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: I check the news and I see another big name
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: celebrity has passed on, and uh, my emotional tether is
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: a little too close to whether celebrities live or die.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Is emotional tethers determined on whether his team wins or loses.
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: So I don't really talk to people after the Celtics lose. Okay,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: that's that's the question. Is it just the Celtics losing
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: or is it It's mostly like if the Saints lose
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: and their season ends, then I'll be like really upset
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: about it. But it's really when Jamimes Winston went out
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: this year, you were like you were pissed off for
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: the rest of the season pretty much. Yeah, but I
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: wasn't like super invested after Drew Brees left, Jameis Winston's
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: gonna freaking be great for you guys. Is Larry Bird's
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: still on the team? Not anymore? Come on, I know
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: about point I learned about point shaving. Is Larry Birds
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: still point shaving on the life blast? And that's blasphemy? Okay,
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: and we see that. What's the position? I learned? He
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: was a small forward? Larry Board was a small Larry
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Bird position point guard, point guard. No, he was a
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: small forward. Okay, stop yelling at me, go ahead anyway.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Um So I allow that to like kind of ruin
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: my day. And he was a wreck after Betty White died,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: even though it was she was one hundred years old.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: But most get an amazing life. Go ahead. What's the quest? Question?
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: I guess is fix your life? I mean the fix
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: your life? I guess is how do how do we
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: not let that ruin our entire days? Well? I don't
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: know if I'm ruin it. Come on, now, you can't
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: let that shit ruin it Okay, Well, in all honesty,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: come on, bros, just ruining that day. So like question
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: when the Celtics lose. And I understand you're a tired fan.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: I understand being upset, but you're talking about like for
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: more than like twenty minutes, your whole day is ruined
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: or are you exaggerating? I'm exaggerating. But it also depends
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: on the on like the nature of the laws. Yeah,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: the bigger, the bigger the loss of the more it hurts.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: I totally get it. Um, I'm gonna tell you something
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, Donald has to answer that part of
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: the question, because this is the honest to goodness truth.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: I got into fantasy foot ball and it made it
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: so football wasn't that serious anymore because I went crazy
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: for like a year and a half during football season
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: trying to get my line up in, trying to figure
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: out who was the best fucking running back to get
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: me the most points and all of that stuff. And
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: at the end of the day when I won that,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: when I won my fantasy football league, I got nothing
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: like I got a couple of hundred bucks and that
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: was it. And I realized my fandom has gone so
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: far that I'm fucking stressing the little things about So
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: when the Knicks they've never won in my lifetime, they've
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: never won a thing in my lifetime. I've let it go.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: I'm on the path of a Jedi. Now. The job
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: for you, the job for you, Matthew, is to figure
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: out a way to understand that it's just sports and
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: that's all it is. Man. At the end of the day,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: you're not with the Boston Celtics. Eat does not make
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: you shit so beautiful and tell my son Charlie that
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: about the Brewers too. And I want you, I want
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: you to think about those players going home. They're pissed
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: off two but then they drive home in a Lamborghini
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: to their mansions and they're not that upset. They don't
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: give to you, know what I mean? Like, it's gonna
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: give you a cognitive behavioral tool. What's a favorite food
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: you love, like a milkshake or a cheeseburger or or something.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: What's your favorite thing eating something vegan? We don't know something,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: there's something something you both love. Just how kind of
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: going milkshake? Do? Everybody loves milk? Yeah, So what you're
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: gonna do is when the team loses or the famous,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: treasured celebrity dies, you're gonna say, I go, I go
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: get a giant milkshake, because you at least are gonna
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: give yourself, your brain a consolation prize, and you'll get
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: to the point where you'll be rooting for that famous
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: celebrity to die. There's fire. Just didn't. You'll be like,
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: come on, as he passed, he just that's not well,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: you guys who do a milkshakes. All right, let's go out.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: He always go out on a lapt him coming that is,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: always go out on the lap. But who was the
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: vet that played the Who was the guy who played
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: the vet at the end that salute? And where the
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: fuck was he sitting behind the guy? His name is
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: Buddy and he was generator? Yes he was. I was
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: wondering if you would knew that, if you knew that? Wait,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: was he in transportation? Yes, he was about in the
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: transmitted department. Um, there's a there's someone who monitors the
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: power generator. He's called the Jenny Op we call him,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: and Buddy was our Jenny Op for many years. He
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: had a great face. Yeah, well at the end, so
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: now instead of going on that left, we're going out
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: on Buddy's face. Yeah, Buddy's face. Oh, and we should
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: mention the whole the whole flag thing that was very
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: very stone rati. That is very sort of because they
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: took cardboard cutouts. It didn't look horrible by the way.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: My my my girlfriend watched it and she was just
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: in black widow and she was like, how did you
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: do that? And I said, I don't really remember. For
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: you know, for whatever year it was, it didn't look
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: horrible for for I mean, there was that what you
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: what you holding onto the flag that was green screen
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: that part. Yeah, No, it wasn't. I couldn't tell if
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: it was green screen or not. You were up there.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I think you were up on that flag pole if
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: I remember, Carly, I I was up on the pole,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: but I don't think. Oh, I was up on the
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: pole and there was a crane involved whole something had
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: to pull your legs up, yeah, yeah and Downald. I
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: love how those other janitors just accepted you into their
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: c Yeah. I'm part of the team too. Well. Yeah, oh,
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: because I embarrassed you with Carlo's wrong name. Yeah, you
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: called you said it was something else and I go
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: and I go and say that to her and she goes,
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: you think my middle name, and the fuck up shit
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: is that? He goes, You're not even say yeah, you
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: say you say her middle name is? I knew it
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: was something Puerto Rican, by the way. That's Bill does
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: that at parties. I'll be like, hey, Bill, who's that
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: guy again? And Bill just tell me the wrong name,
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: and I'll go over and say, yeah, hey, Jim, how's
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: it going. Yeah, I've done that to people, but it's
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: really mean to do that. All right, that's the show.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: You guys have been great guests. Tim I I hope
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: you'll come back. I swear to god, I had more
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: fun than I've had him so long. You're a great guest.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: And you guys were great guests, and and um, and
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: thank you Joel for doing it, and thanks and guys,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: you're a delight. You're a nice young man. And I
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: hope that who have our who have our interests, yes,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: who have our same interests. And let's just hope, Jimmy,
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: let's just hope. Let's just Mike Jiminski gonna do a Mike.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: They don't know who, they don't know who, Jim, I
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: love you. I just hope that Larry Bird kills it
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: this season and stops pointing birds on the team. We
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: get a milkshake, could we? Yes? Yeah, take that picture.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: This is my picture screenshot. Ready did you do it
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: so much? You know it's interesting about having you know,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: most guests asked for a picture. Um, the young men
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: were able to do it in under forty five seconds.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Your big laugh second. He always gone big laugh everybody.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: Five six, seven day Stories about show we made about
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: a bunch of docs and nurses, And I said, stories
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: never so yetta around here? Are yet around here? Are showy?
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Jan mm hmmmm
