879 Entrust Yourself to a Faithful Creator • 1 Peter 4:12–19
Friday, Oct 30: Peter tells suffering believers not to interpret every fiery trial as evidence that God has abandoned them. He also distinguishes genuine suffering for Christ from painful consequences caused by sinful, foolish, or intrusive behavior. Those who suffer because they belong to Jesus need not accept the shame others attach to His name. Instead, they can entrust their lives to their faithful Creator while continuing to do good. The cloud of witnesses points us beyond human toughness to the trustworthy God who sustains ordinary people through circumstances they cannot control.
