- 3:20Speaker 1: fathers and fans of the For the Dad Show PT.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Sixers like yes, like a couple that like.
- 3:28Speaker 1: You know the show what I love about like just
- 3:31Speaker 1: how organic it is the messages we get, whether it's
- 3:33Speaker 1: in DM or the comments, but like conversations. Not hey
- 3:39Speaker 1: fan of the show. Got a couple of those, but
- 3:41Speaker 1: a couple of dads that are.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Like wanting to shake my hand and not.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Pull me aside, but you felt you feel pulled aside,
- 3:47Speaker 1: Just so they can tell you how much they appreciate
- 3:50Speaker 1: the for the Dad's brand. Couple equipment managers came up
- 3:52Speaker 1: to me. No, love what you guys said on for
- 3:54Speaker 1: the Dads, Really love what you guys said.
- 3:56Speaker 2: For what team? That one was.
- 3:59Speaker 1: One came up from Texas, Okay, and then obviously the
- 4:04Speaker 1: Huskers like oh yeah, you know, I'm all shouting out
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Husk boys, but Texas a cat came up to me.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And then I think another equipment manager who was just
- 4:11Speaker 1: an equipment manager in his past life, yeah, came up
- 4:14Speaker 1: to me.
- 4:15Speaker 5: They're and a couple of dms too, like DM's coming
- 4:18Speaker 5: into the for the dad's page.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Yeah, we're trying to find his name real quick. But
- 4:22Speaker 6: shout out to the us SEF. That's manager. He is
- 4:27Speaker 6: sending us a bunch of stuff. Yes, I'm a big
- 4:29Speaker 6: fan of alex Schoolish former Tennessee off its coordinator put
- 4:32Speaker 6: to some b two a on Boise State.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Did on Boise State.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Yikes, gooned on those boys they did goon goom berets
- 4:43Speaker 5: infiltrated Boise State. That quarterback is he general the Goombreys? Dude,
- 4:48Speaker 5: he was discussing dialed in.
- 4:51Speaker 1: So it's funny too because the equipment manager audience, I'm
- 4:56Speaker 1: gonna say they got.
- 4:57Speaker 2: A fan base.
- 4:58Speaker 3: They are tight. They're tight, They're tight.
- 5:01Speaker 6: They have accounts that are just like Texas A and
- 5:04Speaker 6: M football equipment I had.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah.

- 5:26Speaker 1: took care of business. This is not a football show.
- 5:27Speaker 1: This is a football show for the wife soon because
- 5:29Speaker 1: I know we got a lot of a lot of
- 5:31Speaker 1: milk Team sixers out there.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yes, dude, we do.
- 5:34Speaker 5: And that was my other shout out is the wife
- 5:37Speaker 5: of the Arkansas.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Razorback equipment manager d M.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Jilly Bean, after seeing us go to the Baylor game
- 5:47Speaker 5: with Scarlett, and was like, you have inspired me to.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I thought I was going to miss some of the
- 5:52Speaker 5: season this year with our newborn, but you have inspired
- 5:55Speaker 5: me to now go to the games and try bringing
- 5:59Speaker 5: the newborn.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Dude, that's what it's about. I know.
- 6:03Speaker 5: That got me really jacked. It was sick also to
- 6:07Speaker 5: your point. For the first time in my time at Bustin'
- 6:11Speaker 5: I had a semen Team sixer come up to me
- 6:15Speaker 5: and he was juiced. His name is Johnnyah young Cat
- 6:21Speaker 5: and yelled my name from like a mile away, ran
- 6:25Speaker 5: up to me.
- 6:26Speaker 3: How the boys hat on?
- 6:27Speaker 5: He goes, I gotta keep it up, buck, dude, I'm
- 6:30Speaker 5: SC six. I don't have a kid, but I'm seeming
- 6:33Speaker 5: Team six baby. I fucking love for the dead. I
- 6:35Speaker 5: was like, oh my god. I gave him the biggest
- 6:38Speaker 5: hug in the entire world. I was like, Johnny, Oh
- 6:43Speaker 5: my god, he said, I did I have a podcast
- 6:46Speaker 5: every single day of the week when I'm working out.
- 6:48Speaker 5: I didn't have a Wednesday one. And I said, oh
- 6:50Speaker 5: fuck it, I like Will Compton, let's see what it's
- 6:52Speaker 5: all about.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Oh god, I swear.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Hey, buddy, listen, I want to step on your territory.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I'm anna SD sixer st six.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Like, I don't want to fool you about being fully
- 7:02Speaker 3: bet six.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yes, I ain't a dad. Ain't trying to be a
- 7:05Speaker 2: dad right now.
- 7:06Speaker 3: He crushed it.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Dude, I was dying, laughing, dying laughing. I talked to
- 7:12Speaker 5: him for like twenty minutes because Joe was in the
- 7:13Speaker 5: mom room.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Just keeping it. Yeah, well we'll get it. We'll get
- 7:19Speaker 2: into the.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Storytelling, because I'm super curious how that we haven't really
- 7:22Speaker 1: gotten to talk at all, and we've seen each other.
- 7:25Speaker 2: In the all, like we see each other in the shop.
- 7:27Speaker 1: We had to bust with the boys earlier, and I've
- 7:28Speaker 1: been intentional, like, let's not get too fired up in
- 7:31Speaker 1: time someone to learn.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yes, I've been trying to stay away from you because.
- 7:35Speaker 1: When you left last week, you're in the bit of
- 7:37Speaker 1: a doghouse. I was that bit of a dog house
- 7:39Speaker 1: situation with Wifey. That's my dad loss. Okay, we'll get
- 7:43Speaker 1: into we'll get into Yeah we should. We rebost some
- 7:45Speaker 1: comments at the top of the episode. Shut out people
- 7:47Speaker 1: who've been in the comments section.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Please can I start because I have an apology. I
- 7:51Speaker 5: want to get in front of something.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Go ahead, Okay, go ahead.
- 7:53Speaker 5: That's that because a fat Stafford. First Off, thank you
- 7:58Speaker 5: for all the fat Stafford comments. They made me laugh
- 8:00Speaker 5: every single time. Secondly, I was seeing some comments specifically
- 8:04Speaker 5: directed at me, and I was not offended.
- 8:07Speaker 3: If anything, I was.
- 8:08Speaker 5: A little bit heartbroken because Will had mentioned it. One
- 8:11Speaker 5: episode was like talking to Mike. Talking to Mike, I
- 8:14Speaker 5: come in. Our two guys behind the desk that are
- 8:17Speaker 5: always killing it. They also giving great production notes. Hey Sherman,
- 8:21Speaker 5: make sure we're getting a lot of comments talking to
- 8:23Speaker 5: the mic, and I was like, damn, cause I've been
- 8:25Speaker 5: reading that too, So I just want to read out.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Zach Davis two four zero two he said, Papa Team
- 8:31Speaker 5: six member here, huge fan of the pod.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Could be just Dad Years. It's not Zach.
- 8:37Speaker 5: I've been leaning away from the mic and I am sorry.
- 8:40Speaker 5: I'm gonna try and get better, but SUREM needs to
- 8:42Speaker 5: speak into the microphone.
- 8:44Speaker 1: That's great accountability, thank you, and that's good hand up
- 8:47Speaker 1: postgame presser, facing the noise, not running away from it,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and saying this offensive operation starts with me.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It does.
- 8:56Speaker 5: And this is a podcast. At the end of the day,
- 8:59Speaker 5: I get comfortable. I started laughing. I feel like I'm
- 9:01Speaker 5: just talking to you, but I got to remember.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I'm right here to speakining of I. I have a few.
- 9:08Speaker 1: There were a lot that I screenshoted, okay, and I
- 9:11Speaker 1: have a few that's more on like the the serious
- 9:14Speaker 1: side of things. Oh, I'll start with JJ Smith. He
- 9:18Speaker 1: titled it IVF.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Hello.
- 9:20Speaker 1: My name is Carl and my wife's name is Ali,
- 9:23Speaker 1: And we just stumbled upon the ivf's episode Will did
- 9:26Speaker 1: with his wife, my wife and I. If you guys
- 9:28Speaker 1: can recall on Mother's Day, we dropped a Mother's Day
- 9:30Speaker 1: episode where I had my wife on bus with the
- 9:32Speaker 1: boys and.
- 9:32Speaker 2: We talked through our IVF journey.
- 9:34Speaker 1: We were going through our second round of IVF here
- 9:36Speaker 1: in a few weeks, trying for our first child as
- 9:39Speaker 1: a cancer survivor, and the problem being on my end.
- 9:42Speaker 1: We're going through it together. The advice they gave on
- 9:45Speaker 1: that episode between the communication and not having a timeline,
- 9:47Speaker 1: the whole story in general was inspirational. I think in
- 9:50Speaker 1: life there are signs and stuff when you pay attention.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And the fact that I came across that episode and
- 9:54Speaker 1: heard what we needed to hear at the right time
- 9:57Speaker 1: as a sign relating heavy on all the feelings you
- 10:00Speaker 1: guys went through between the pain, shame, guilt, and helplessness
- 10:04Speaker 1: that was described.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I felt so hopeless at.
- 10:06Speaker 1: One point, but being more open about it and seeing
- 10:09Speaker 1: the situation can happen to anyone and their positive outcomes
- 10:12Speaker 1: is what we needed and was bringing tears to my
- 10:15Speaker 1: eyes at times. JJ, I appreciate you for being vulnerable
- 10:19Speaker 1: with your boy in the DMS and sending that message.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I think IVF is something that isn't talked about a
- 10:25Speaker 1: lot because it just feels what's the word I'm looking for, taboo?
- 10:30Speaker 3: Yeah, taboo?
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yeah, just because everybody has a different journey with pregnancy.
- 10:36Speaker 1: People try over and over, you know, I have my
- 10:38Speaker 1: wife and I we were very fortunate that Scottie was
- 10:41Speaker 1: our first attempt with IVF and we have a lot
- 10:44Speaker 1: of close friends that have tried time and time again,
- 10:46Speaker 1: some still trying through their like on their fifth round.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah of it.
- 10:50Speaker 1: But JJ, I just wanted to let you know I
- 10:52Speaker 1: read that message and I really appreciated reading it. I'm
- 10:55Speaker 1: glad that episode helped you guys out. And again, a
- 10:58Speaker 1: big theme in that episodisode was it's not about being
- 11:03Speaker 1: strong or seeming strong. It's more so about staying connected
- 11:06Speaker 1: with your partner. So I'm glad you stumbled upon it.
- 11:09Speaker 1: It warms my heart and fires me up. And thank
- 11:12Speaker 1: you for reaching out, my friend.
- 11:14Speaker 5: It's a great comment, hard thing to talk about, and
- 11:17Speaker 5: it's cool that you're opening up on the podcast and
- 11:20Speaker 5: allowing people to feel like they're having a conversation or
- 11:24Speaker 5: feeling more comfortable to have a conversation about said subject.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I think it's awesome.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate that. My friend show, do you want
- 11:31Speaker 2: to rip off? The You want to rip off? The
- 11:33Speaker 2: next one?
- 11:33Speaker 3: I got another one? Okay.
- 11:35Speaker 5: So we have our friend Zach on Twitter. I don't
- 11:38Speaker 5: know if you saw this, will, but he put out
- 11:40Speaker 5: a tweet of a washer that was disassembled, fully disassembled.
- 11:46Speaker 5: I sent it to Chef he can put it up
- 11:48Speaker 5: on the screen. Okay, he tweets at me, which thank you, Zach.
- 11:53Speaker 5: He said, dryer goes out eighteen days before I joined
- 11:56Speaker 5: PT six. Good I could teach Old Willie one shelf
- 12:00Speaker 5: a think or two hauh suroom stew, which I laughed
- 12:03Speaker 5: so hard because I'm like, he's wrapping me in with him.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Of like I would know what the hell to do
- 12:09Speaker 5: with this assembly A watcher like Willie wouldn't know.
- 12:13Speaker 3: What the hell to do with this.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Between me and handyman out here, a couple of handy
- 12:17Speaker 5: guys sure would know.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I back. I was like, dude, I would have no
- 12:22Speaker 3: idea what to do.
- 12:24Speaker 5: And he had a great reply and said YouTube University,
- 12:28Speaker 5: which I'm a big.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Believer in YouTube unit. Yes, yeah, I really.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Am eth king.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Yeah king, so Zach, shout out shout out.
- 12:37Speaker 1: King, Yeah, shout out king. I got one from t
- 12:41Speaker 1: Odo twenty two. Sitting in the hospital one day in
- 12:44Speaker 1: the Fatherhood, our room had a recliner chair in the couch.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I hopped in that chair, laid back, and my wife,
- 12:50Speaker 1: fresh out of surgery, turns to me from the hospital
- 12:53Speaker 1: bed and says, you better get on that couch.
- 12:56Speaker 2: You're not going to get the couch.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Badge I had no idea she was a milkyer that
- 13:00Speaker 1: fired me.
- 13:01Speaker 2: The hell up, shout out your wife.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, I'm so glad you picked that one.
- 13:07Speaker 5: I read that one like the day had dropped and
- 13:10Speaker 5: totally forgot about it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Oh wife, Hey, you better get on that couch or
- 13:13Speaker 1: you ain't gonna get that bad son.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Hey, what the hell you think you're doing?

- 15:54Speaker 5: one hundred. As soon as I read that, I started
- 15:56Speaker 5: dying on these thoughts. Memorbi in the back and you
- 15:58Speaker 5: low ball them. No one knows, no one knows. The
- 16:01Speaker 5: video game ones would always those would get me stoked.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I do have a shout out that I could uh
- 16:09Speaker 5: wait to save for the actual pod, okay, because it
- 16:14Speaker 5: deals with the Baylor game.
- 16:16Speaker 3: So I'll actually hold on to that one, okay.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Zane Scott twenty four found out a couple weeks ago,
- 16:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna be a girl dad good.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Just found out last week we're having twin girls.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Good.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm scared the shit out of me. Bro.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know what I would do.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 16:32Speaker 5: When we were talking to uh Roan at the Super Bowl, Yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 5: and it was fun talking to him at dinner because
- 16:39Speaker 5: we were kind of in the same uh you know,
- 16:42Speaker 5: calendar schedule of like entering into dadhood. And he made
- 16:45Speaker 5: a great comment and said, yeah, sure, and basically everything
- 16:48Speaker 5: that you've been through just times it by two.
- 16:51Speaker 3: It's like, oh yeah, bro, scary thought.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I got one from Jake Peltola p T six zero
- 17:02Speaker 5: M so he has PT six in his YouTube pandle, which.
- 17:06Speaker 3: That's pretty electric.
- 17:08Speaker 5: He said, job full time, school three kiddos under the
- 17:11Speaker 5: age of five, stress through the roof for the dad
- 17:14Speaker 5: spot football season, and lift heavy for the mental refresh.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Good, good, good good.
- 17:23Speaker 5: I love seeing the PT six in the username. I know,
- 17:27Speaker 5: yeah in the user name is big Time. Oh yeah,
- 17:29Speaker 5: j Noble eleven twenty gentlemen, I think I speak for
- 17:32Speaker 5: all PT six and concurring branches of the PT army here.
- 17:37Speaker 5: The reason this podcast is so legendary is because of
- 17:39Speaker 5: the vast range of emotion experience.
- 17:41Speaker 2: You of what you have watching from it, from.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Absolute hilarious and relatable stories to dialogue that creates inward
- 17:47Speaker 1: reflection and betterment is truly unique. How y'all can pull
- 17:50Speaker 1: it off organically, keep hanging one shelf and waging war
- 17:53Speaker 1: against the squatting raccoons, because every time you do PT
- 17:57Speaker 1: six grow stronger. Ps Ifford will be in my thoughts
- 18:01Speaker 1: in prayers. An entire week with the house to himself.
- 18:03Speaker 1: What cool and unusual punishment from the loving wife I forget.
- 18:08Speaker 3: You get the week now? Yeah, I get the week now.
- 18:10Speaker 5: There is a developing story on that that happened about
- 18:13Speaker 5: five minutes ago, or five minutes ago, more like thirty
- 18:16Speaker 5: minutes ago.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Good, they're coming home. The good.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Worse, they're staying. They're staying. It's not that I tried
- 18:26Speaker 5: to Texas. The true goons chat with time.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Out, time out, time out. They're staying. Where are they?
- 18:30Speaker 5: Oh, they're staying in Texas, my family. If you weren't
- 18:33Speaker 5: listening last episode, we discussed that. Unfortunately, so I just
- 18:38Speaker 5: went on a trip to Texas with my family. Correct,
- 18:41Speaker 5: That was fortunate. The unfortunate part is my wife and
- 18:44Speaker 5: my sweet baby girl Scarlet, they're saying for an additional
- 18:49Speaker 5: six days until Saturday. I will be home alone. Unfortunately,
- 18:54Speaker 5: house to myself, just me and the doggoes with nothing
- 18:57Speaker 5: to do except until Saturday. No, I will have nothing
- 19:04Speaker 5: to do except play video games if I can squeeze
- 19:07Speaker 5: it in fuck, we have a group chat with all
- 19:11Speaker 5: of our gooners, our video game.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Group, and we usually like to send.
- 19:17Speaker 5: In that Batman Jeff where he's standing on the building
- 19:21Speaker 5: and the bat signals up in the air. And I
- 19:25Speaker 5: sent that to True Glover, who I haven't spoken to
- 19:29Speaker 5: in three years instead of True Goons group chat. Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 5: and he replied in like thirty seconds and said, Bro,
- 19:37Speaker 5: what up.
- 19:39Speaker 3: I don't know what I'm gonna follow up with.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I'll tell you what you do. It's a you're gonna
- 19:44Speaker 1: be bored, You're gonna be very lonely. Here's what I'll
- 19:48Speaker 1: do for you. Okay, when I get home and I'm
- 19:51Speaker 1: talk to the wife and I'm gonna really good friend
- 19:56Speaker 1: of mine. He's feeling very isolated in alone.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and I need.
- 20:01Speaker 1: To go be there for him and support him. You
- 20:03Speaker 1: gotta go somewhere and leave it no sooner. That's the
- 20:05Speaker 1: That's that's one thing I told him where I draw
- 20:08Speaker 1: the line. I don't leave the house because I got
- 20:09Speaker 1: a family to protect and a family to hang out with.
- 20:12Speaker 1: But from May thirty on every night, I'm gonna support
- 20:16Speaker 1: him over the headset. Yeah, it's a little place we
- 20:18Speaker 1: call Discord.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Do you think you could do that for me tonight.
- 20:24Speaker 5: You do not have to do that, dude.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I know and trust me, no part of me wants to. Yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: because I love getting to bed early. I love being
- 20:33Speaker 1: a father, I love being a husband.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Maybe Tuckan's running a little late.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but to be there for my friend it would
- 20:40Speaker 1: be I It would not only be an honor, but
- 20:43Speaker 1: I feel like a responsibility.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yeah, to have your back.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Can I tell you some even worse news of when
- 20:50Speaker 5: I came in today. Taylor was even saying he would
- 20:54Speaker 5: be one to do the same for me.
- 20:57Speaker 2: It's a big ass for all the boys.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Can I ask a question? Yeah, go ahead. What was
- 21:05Speaker 2: the developing story?
- 21:06Speaker 1: Because I always thought you had the house to yourself
- 21:08Speaker 1: the entire time I do it.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Was that I texted a guy haven't talked to you
- 21:11Speaker 3: in three years? That jiff?
- 21:13Speaker 2: Oh this so the developing story has nothing to do
- 21:15Speaker 2: with your family.
- 21:16Speaker 3: No, oh god.
- 21:18Speaker 5: I just to know how to reply to me randomly
- 21:22Speaker 5: texting this guy and then him being like, oh, what's good, bro?
- 21:26Speaker 5: And how do I because I don't want to be like, hey,
- 21:28Speaker 5: I was trying to text my video game chat.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'll figure it out for you. I think
- 21:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to approach the wife with you know
- 21:38Speaker 1: how I've been bitching about playing video games? Do you
- 21:41Speaker 1: know how I hate it? Yeah, I trust me. I
- 21:43Speaker 1: want to do this, but sometimes discipline is choosing what
- 21:47Speaker 1: you want most over what you want. Now the hard
- 21:50Speaker 1: I don't want to have to walk upstairs and play
- 21:52Speaker 1: this game. Yeah, what I want most is a loving home.
- 21:56Speaker 1: That was the speaker. Oh but I need to do,
- 22:00Speaker 1: but I don't want to do And let's go good
- 22:02Speaker 1: with the boys.
- 22:03Speaker 5: Yeah, to throw it back to episode three, The harder
- 22:08Speaker 5: choice is usually the right one to make. Dude, not
- 22:10Speaker 5: to challenge you and not to throw that into your
- 22:14Speaker 5: corner and add some extra pressure.
- 22:16Speaker 1: That's what PT six has accountability. If you need to
- 22:19Speaker 1: check me, you gotta check yeah, yeah, all right, we'll
- 22:23Speaker 1: finish it off.
- 22:23Speaker 2: This is a this is a serious one. Shirm.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Oh okay, okay, Legitimately I'm locked in. I'm locked in.
- 22:33Speaker 1: This is from Chuck It Up four. Need some support
- 22:38Speaker 1: guidance from Papa Team six. My fiance is seventeen weeks
- 22:42Speaker 1: pregnant and sadly she ruptured. We got a bad prognosis
- 22:45Speaker 1: for our baby girl. How do I go about being
- 22:48Speaker 1: supportive and strong while also being sensitive to her. I
- 22:51Speaker 1: can't imagine what she's going through as she's putting some
- 22:53Speaker 1: of the blame on her and her body when that
- 22:55Speaker 1: couldn't be farther from the truth. Begging for guidance for
- 22:58Speaker 1: a guy that's dreamed of being a girl dad, that
- 23:01Speaker 1: kind of hits gosh, I hate that.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Man, that's so hard. Yeah, I first off, thank.
- 23:11Speaker 2: You for yeah. Yeah, I appreciate you for sharing that. Man, and.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Bro, I would say, there are no words. My truest
- 23:21Speaker 1: advice would be your presence will be better than any.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Advice that you could give her.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And don't minimize your own grief and your own pain
- 23:34Speaker 1: to feel like you were posturing and being strong. I
- 23:36Speaker 1: was saying a little bit ago that it's not necessarily
- 23:39Speaker 1: about being strong, and it's about being connected. And I
- 23:42Speaker 1: would say, just sit in it with her, be there
- 23:47Speaker 1: for her, and just do small things because there are
- 23:51Speaker 1: times like when you're a dad, like when you're the
- 23:53Speaker 1: guy in the relationship.
- 23:56Speaker 2: You feel like.
- 23:58Speaker 1: You're kind of useless or there's nothing that you can
- 24:01Speaker 1: do because your body's not the one going through it. Yes,
- 24:04Speaker 1: and when you when your partner is going through something.
- 24:08Speaker 1: You're in totally different mindsets. At times, you want to
- 24:11Speaker 1: lead with like an optimistic quote or something that's going
- 24:14Speaker 1: to make her feel strong or you're being strong for her. Yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 1: And what I've learned is it's not necessarily about that.
- 24:22Speaker 1: It's just it's just being in it with them and
- 24:26Speaker 1: trying to do whatever small things you might be able
- 24:29Speaker 1: to do, whether it's do a lot of laundry, yes,
- 24:31Speaker 1: get her you know from my wife lake, you know,
- 24:34Speaker 1: an ice latte, having picking up around that, like doing
- 24:37Speaker 1: things that when she sees you, she's thinking like he's
- 24:41Speaker 1: thinking about me, even though he might not have.
- 24:43Speaker 2: The word yes.
- 24:46Speaker 5: In a very vulnerable emotional state, all the little things
- 24:51Speaker 5: are going to seem like really big things on the
- 24:53Speaker 5: bad end of the spectrum, and to your point, on
- 24:56Speaker 5: the other end of the spectrum, those little things are
- 24:58Speaker 5: also going to feel like baked to those little small
- 25:01Speaker 5: victories of making sure the couch and all that stuff
- 25:04Speaker 5: looks really nice and pretty, doing the dishes, doing those
- 25:07Speaker 5: like little things around the house. As far as that
- 25:10Speaker 5: kind of support, The only advice that I would give
- 25:15Speaker 5: to this guy that shared this is be accessible to
- 25:21Speaker 5: your wife emotionally allow her to pour into and onto
- 25:26Speaker 5: you what she is feeling and experiencing right now, make
- 25:31Speaker 5: sure that you also have that person, maybe not your wife,
- 25:37Speaker 5: but have your own person that you are able to
- 25:40Speaker 5: do the same because you're going to be there for her.
- 25:43Speaker 5: And to your point you said, like make sure you
- 25:46Speaker 5: feel this and you know.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Don't minimize like you know, yeah, yeah, men are men
- 25:50Speaker 1: will put off their grief and again, you want to
- 25:53Speaker 1: be a strong guy.
- 25:55Speaker 5: And that will allow you to be there for her
- 25:57Speaker 5: more if you're able to offload that stuff with somebody
- 26:00Speaker 5: else maybe, uh and process that other than that, dude,
- 26:04Speaker 5: just like best wishes and.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry, dude, I'm sorry you guys.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Are you guys went through that?
- 26:10Speaker 3: That's hard?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah, And being vulnerable with your wife, like talking to
- 26:15Speaker 1: her about your what you're feeling, your fears, your anxieties, it, uh,
- 26:21Speaker 1: your openness gives her permission to lean on you.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Yeah, if she's feeling like a little shut in. That's
- 26:28Speaker 3: a really good.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Note because sometimes so your partner wants to know, hey,
- 26:31Speaker 1: how are okay? Is he going through something like does
- 26:34Speaker 1: he feel this the same way I do? He sounds
- 26:37Speaker 1: very stoic right now, kind of you know what I mean.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Yes, they This leads directly into my Dad Loss with
- 26:44Speaker 5: the communication stuff with Jill is a perfect example of it.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Really, let's get into the deadline. We do.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Got to keep it under and out. We have to
- 26:52Speaker 1: keep it How to keep it tight? You gotta keep
- 26:53Speaker 1: it tight, got to keep it right.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Eight minutes, eight minutes, nothing with nothing but fifty two
- 26:59Speaker 3: minutes to go, We're rolling.
- 27:01Speaker 2: We're rolling.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Losses of the Week, Dad, Losses of the Week.
- 27:05Speaker 5: I texted Will about this, and I don't know how
- 27:07Speaker 5: much of the details I'll share of it because I
- 27:09Speaker 5: forgot to talk with Jill about me sharing.
- 27:13Speaker 3: This on the podcast.
- 27:13Speaker 5: I don't want to get you back in the dog
- 27:15Speaker 5: I don't want to get back in the dog house.
- 27:16Speaker 5: But I'll share enough to where I don't think she'll
- 27:20Speaker 5: be upset at all. Oh and Chef was back there saying, hey,
- 27:26Speaker 5: we can always.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Yeah, we got to protect the fathers out there. That's
- 27:29Speaker 3: a good man, that's a good man, a great man,
- 27:32Speaker 3: our captain.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Chef Dad Loss was Jill for like three days, seemed
- 27:43Speaker 5: very quiet around the house and was not short or
- 27:46Speaker 5: rude with me, but just like very quiet.
- 27:48Speaker 3: And I was like, I feel like something's up with Jill,
- 27:52Speaker 3: like what is going on?
- 27:53Speaker 5: And I allowed for like a ton of opportunities of
- 27:57Speaker 5: you know, asking, asking, asking.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Is everything okay? To no avail.
- 28:03Speaker 5: Came up to this guy, my accountability buddy at work,
- 28:06Speaker 5: and I said, Hey, I know we have a really
- 28:07Speaker 5: busy day. I have one serious question for you really quick.
- 28:12Speaker 5: I feel like something's going on with my wife and
- 28:14Speaker 5: I want to try and let her know that, like
- 28:16Speaker 5: I'm here to listen if she wants to share anything.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Will gave me some great advice of.
- 28:25Speaker 5: Tell her if there is nothing wrong and I'm being
- 28:29Speaker 5: crazy and overthinking this, you just let me know, but
- 28:32Speaker 5: that I will ask you one last time because.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I really want to know your heart. I am interested.
- 28:38Speaker 5: And I didn't just recite the line because I was like, oh,
- 28:40Speaker 5: this will get it, but it was true. I was like,
- 28:42Speaker 5: I want to know what is going on? And she
- 28:47Speaker 5: briefly shared that she was not feeling prioritized in this
- 28:55Speaker 5: time in our life, which is totally understandable. There's a
- 28:58Speaker 5: lot of stuff going on with work, there's a lot
- 28:59Speaker 5: of stuff going on with Scarlett, there's a lot of
- 29:01Speaker 5: stuff going on with planning this family weekend that we
- 29:05Speaker 5: just had, and with all that moving pieces, there's not
- 29:08Speaker 5: a whole lot of like Jill time or Jill and Sherman.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Time, and my dad loss is I kind.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Of screwed up on being able to like schedule that
- 29:20Speaker 5: time and prioritize that time. And then we had a
- 29:24Speaker 5: really great follow up text of like I gotta get
- 29:28Speaker 5: something on the calendar, truly on the calendar where it's
- 29:32Speaker 5: like this is priority number one. I'm I'm sorry, no,
- 29:36Speaker 5: I cannot do that extra thing, or I got a
- 29:38Speaker 5: jet because at this time I'm.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Doing this with my wife like we are doing it.
- 29:43Speaker 3: So that was my dad loss. So but it also
- 29:46Speaker 3: turned into a dad win.
- 29:48Speaker 2: That's good. Yeah, yeah, it's awesome.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I'll tell you this, You're not the only one going
- 29:53Speaker 1: through and not that there's been anything that's happened with
- 29:55Speaker 1: my wife and I, but something like dad loss related
- 29:58Speaker 1: is kind of just my own per personal losses. I'm
- 30:00Speaker 1: feeling like I'm starting to feel like guilt could be
- 30:08Speaker 1: creeping up just because the season is underway, and I legitimately,
- 30:15Speaker 1: like I am a big believer that if you don't
- 30:19Speaker 1: write it down, it won't happen. If you don't truly
- 30:22Speaker 1: prioritize it. Like people talk all the time, and I'm
- 30:24Speaker 1: guilty of this too, but you talk about like you know,
- 30:27Speaker 1: people talk about like faith, family, career or you know,
- 30:30Speaker 1: career and family and all this stuff, and it's it's
- 30:34Speaker 1: nice to say, but to put into action.
- 30:37Speaker 2: What the action usually.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Looks like is you're so bals to the wall career wise,
- 30:41Speaker 1: because you want to be really good. You want to
- 30:43Speaker 1: be great at what you want to do. Like we
- 30:45Speaker 1: have an awesome we have an awesome brand, not only
- 30:47Speaker 1: for the dads but busting with the boys. We just
- 30:50Speaker 1: did the partnership with ESPN or will be in New
- 30:53Speaker 1: York every Thursday morning on Get Up, and there's.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Just a lot of stuff coming down the pipe.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And I just I know myself and if I I
- 31:00Speaker 1: don't intentionally get something on the calendar to prioritize my
- 31:04Speaker 1: wife and not only prioritize my wife, but also like
- 31:06Speaker 1: prioritize time like with my girls. So where I do
- 31:08Speaker 1: like a one on one with Rue, take a little
- 31:11Speaker 1: scotti Joe, or take the kids so Charle can go
- 31:13Speaker 1: and do something. Because she's a grinder and she's very
- 31:17Speaker 1: she's awesome.
- 31:18Speaker 2: She is a.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Fox whole partner. Yeah, I'm telling, but I just knowing it.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I know something will come up if I am not
- 31:26Speaker 1: being the intentional husband and the intentional father and the
- 31:29Speaker 1: whole thing and seeing how the world of family fits
- 31:32Speaker 1: into the puzzle and the chaos of career. Because it's
- 31:36Speaker 1: it goes, it can go to the back burners, like subconsciously,
- 31:40Speaker 1: even though it's a priority for me, because you want
- 31:43Speaker 1: to be so good at everything you're doing in your career.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Like again, we do.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It's like, we got we'll reacting the games of the
- 31:50Speaker 1: weekend for Busting. We got our interview that we do
- 31:53Speaker 1: with Bussing'. We got our podcast that we do with
- 31:56Speaker 1: for the Dads. We got streaming that we're gonna do
- 31:58Speaker 1: on Thursdays. We're gonna be on Get Up Thursday. We're
- 32:00Speaker 1: gonna be doing fall toward stuff to where we go
- 32:02Speaker 1: to games on the weekend, the locker room, the locker
- 32:04Speaker 1: oh yes, our game, our two gamling shows, college football
- 32:07Speaker 1: and NFL the locker.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Room where we're doing fan duel picks.
- 32:10Speaker 1: And to execute a high level on all of those shows.
- 32:14Speaker 1: There's a lot of study and prep work and things
- 32:17Speaker 1: I feel like I can't be out of the looper
- 32:18Speaker 1: left behind, because as we get bigger, I feel like
- 32:20Speaker 1: there's more audience and more expectation on being able to
- 32:24Speaker 1: deliver and know what I'm talking about versus just spewing
- 32:26Speaker 1: things out into the world. So even when I'm home,
- 32:29Speaker 1: there's times where I feel like I got a structure,
- 32:31Speaker 1: study time, and prep for the day before, and in
- 32:34Speaker 1: doing all that, it gets pushed under the stack of
- 32:39Speaker 1: these hypothetical papers of career, my family, and my intentionality
- 32:45Speaker 1: with my wife. So that is as a dad loss
- 32:47Speaker 1: and feeling you know, you're like will gave me great advice,
- 32:51Speaker 1: I'm thinking I need to fucking take my own advice
- 32:53Speaker 1: right now.
- 32:54Speaker 3: We all because I do.
- 32:55Speaker 1: It's like days can go fast, bro, and they get
- 32:59Speaker 1: away from you. Yes, and if something's not on the
- 33:01Speaker 1: calendar that hey, I'm intentionally thinking about this and prioritizing this,
- 33:06Speaker 1: then you're going to be more in a reactive state
- 33:08Speaker 1: when you are when that conversation does happen.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yes, it's like I want to get on the books.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I want to get in like a cadence of you know,
- 33:15Speaker 1: getting childcare for the night. My wife and I like
- 33:17Speaker 1: get like getting a hotel room, we do a staycation,
- 33:19Speaker 1: just have like a night to ourselves and wake up
- 33:21Speaker 1: and go to a coffee shop.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Yeah, just stuff like that.
- 33:25Speaker 1: And it's like it's it's on the whole, you know,
- 33:28Speaker 1: the quadrant of urgent, important, important, not urgent, urgent, not important,
- 33:33Speaker 1: not important, not urgent. I feel like that is like
- 33:36Speaker 1: it's just it's been in my mind, like the last
- 33:38Speaker 1: forty eight hours since we've gotten back from Columbus that man,
- 33:41Speaker 1: I've got to get on my shit.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I do too.
- 33:44Speaker 5: I felt that that way this entire weekend with work. Weirdly,
- 33:51Speaker 5: I've been feeling that way with Jill, and then when
- 33:52Speaker 5: I was like on vacation, then I was feeling.
- 33:54Speaker 3: That way about work.
- 33:56Speaker 5: Yeah, And so I was like, Okay, I got to
- 33:58Speaker 5: make sure I'm you know, tweeting about this Baylor game
- 34:01Speaker 5: and you know, taking pictures of scarlet and blah blah,
- 34:03Speaker 5: I'll be doing a good job of because I was
- 34:06Speaker 5: overreacting with like wanting to prioritize Jill and walk in
- 34:09Speaker 5: for that and didn't want to have my phone out
- 34:12Speaker 5: too much in front of her and trying to find
- 34:14Speaker 5: that balance and which it was fine. I mean, Jill
- 34:18Speaker 5: is not a phone nazi or anything. And she's not
- 34:20Speaker 5: sitting there going like are you doing that?
- 34:22Speaker 1: For far the dancing right, But you're you're you're conscious
- 34:24Speaker 1: of I'm in my own hat, yeah exactly. And I
- 34:28Speaker 1: know for me, dude, I don't know how it is
- 34:30Speaker 1: for your workload and getting like chasing all these rabbits
- 34:34Speaker 1: and feeling scattered.
- 34:35Speaker 3: How do I get like that?
- 34:36Speaker 2: I get a lot.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I get a lot of like anxiety about it.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yes, And I know for me it's like Willie see
- 34:43Speaker 1: Willie one chelf, take one hour at the top of
- 34:46Speaker 1: the week, or take one out wherever it is, wherever
- 34:49Speaker 1: you can find an hour, just to have focus time
- 34:51Speaker 1: on how I'm going to prioritize the month out, the
- 34:56Speaker 1: week's out, write my priorities down, whether it be busting
- 35:00Speaker 1: for the dad's locker room. And then on the family side,
- 35:04Speaker 1: like if I want one on one time with Roof,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I want one on one time with my wife, like
- 35:08Speaker 1: writing those things down and then fitting them into the puzzle,
- 35:11Speaker 1: and even study time like prep time, like I know
- 35:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna need this, but I don't want to casually
- 35:16Speaker 1: do it at the end of the day when my
- 35:17Speaker 1: wife might be thinking, hey, we can catch up and
- 35:20Speaker 1: watch a show. Yes, because then I'll watch said show,
- 35:23Speaker 1: won't do any prep worker study, and then I'll be,
- 35:25Speaker 1: you know, scrambling before I get on said show the
- 35:28Speaker 1: next day, trying to like cram and figure it out.
- 35:31Speaker 1: And then my like again, I just I have to
- 35:34Speaker 1: be somebody that prepares. Yeah, those who what is it
- 35:38Speaker 1: those who fail to prepare prepare to fail?
- 35:40Speaker 2: That is I am that.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I also like doing.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I got to do a day night with Jill on Saturday,
- 35:48Speaker 5: which she did a good job of making the reservation.
- 35:52Speaker 3: All that stuff.
- 35:53Speaker 5: But I was like fully for it and you know,
- 35:56Speaker 5: happy to you know, we're taking care of Scarlett.
- 35:59Speaker 3: It's the first time somebody's watching Scarlett. It was my
- 36:01Speaker 3: mother in law. Shout out Lisa.
- 36:03Speaker 5: She said, I need to shout out her name whenever
- 36:06Speaker 5: I bring up my mother in law, So I'll start
- 36:07Speaker 5: doing that. I got you, that's on me. But she
- 36:13Speaker 5: watched Scarlet and sitting in the booth with Jill, and
- 36:19Speaker 5: it felt like we were dating, like before we even
- 36:23Speaker 5: got engaged. Like just as like you have like two
- 36:27Speaker 5: or three cocktails, you're splitting appetizers, you're splitting salads, you're
- 36:31Speaker 5: splitting the entree and we're just like in the booth together,
- 36:34Speaker 5: just like cuddled up, and she's getting all you know,
- 36:38Speaker 5: like cozy and scooting up close to me and stuff,
- 36:41Speaker 5: and I'm like, dang, dude, it's been a minute since
- 36:45Speaker 5: we've done this, and that's really sad. Yeah, that's that
- 36:49Speaker 5: makes me really sad because I do love Scarlet and
- 36:53Speaker 5: I am so excited and like wanting to raise her
- 36:55Speaker 5: and all that stuff, but like prioritizing.
- 36:57Speaker 3: My my day one, my girl, I gotta do it more.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you're in those moments and you're just
- 37:03Speaker 2: like you feel like.
- 37:04Speaker 1: You just forget yes, well and to court your day one,
- 37:09Speaker 1: like just being in like a like date them.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean it becoming a roommate?
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 5: She was like, I feel like I'm your roommate right
- 37:18Speaker 5: now and I am having fun being your roommate.
- 37:21Speaker 3: You're a good roommate. But let's go back to like dating,
- 37:25Speaker 3: and you know, I'm like, I totally get it, totally
- 37:28Speaker 3: get it. So it was good.
- 37:30Speaker 5: It was a dad loss, but it was a good
- 37:32Speaker 5: wake up call, especially going into this busy season of like, dude,
- 37:37Speaker 5: it's about to be even more crazy with everything that's
- 37:40Speaker 5: going to be going on around here that you really
- 37:43Speaker 5: need to lock in.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and to.
- 37:45Speaker 5: The point of my therapist, which I've yet to do
- 37:48Speaker 5: this my homework.
- 37:49Speaker 3: I set it here on.
- 37:50Speaker 5: The pod doing the four pillars Sherman work friends and
- 37:55Speaker 5: uh what was the other one?
- 37:59Speaker 2: Sherman Jill.
- 38:01Speaker 3: I was gonna say it again. I just literally did
- 38:07Speaker 3: it again, Jill family. I gotta do it.
- 38:12Speaker 5: I gotta sit down and do it. I am sorry, therapists.
- 38:16Speaker 5: I need to do my homework assignment. I see him
- 38:19Speaker 5: next Wednesday.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I'll have it done one hour.
- 38:22Speaker 1: What do you mean, just get to schedule it all,
- 38:24Speaker 1: like to prioritize to write this stuff out.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you talk about those four pillars.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Like put pen to paper, bro quick body break to
- 38:31Speaker 1: shout out or sponsor Liquid IV? Are you soaking up
- 38:35Speaker 1: the last bits of summer before you get into your
- 38:36Speaker 1: fall routine.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Are you gonna hit the outdoors? Are you gonna travel
- 38:39Speaker 3: a little bit?
- 38:40Speaker 1: No matter what you're doing, whether you're hot, whether you're traveling,
- 38:42Speaker 1: whether you're outdoors, you need to stay hydrated. Just one
- 38:46Speaker 1: stick of Liquid IV and sixteen ounces of water hydrates
- 38:50Speaker 1: better than water alone. Liquid IV has three times the
- 38:53Speaker 1: electrolytes of the leading sports drinks and has eight essential
- 38:57Speaker 1: vitamins and nutrients and always on GMO vegan, gluten free,
- 39:02Speaker 1: dairy free, and soy free. Savor the last bits of
- 39:04Speaker 1: summer with liquid IV.

- 39:10Speaker 1: off your first order with code busting at checkout. That's
- 39:14Speaker 1: twenty percent off your first order with code busting at
- 39:17Speaker 1: liquidiv dot com.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Back to this episode.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, make the invisible visible. You know what else?
- 39:25Speaker 3: Is one hour?
- 39:26Speaker 1: This podcast? This podcast, this podcast, let's keep it going.
- 39:29Speaker 1: We are going to go to crack a cold one.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Crack a cold one, some some wins brought to us
- 39:35Speaker 1: by tell us liquid IV. Yes, liquid IV, I got
- 39:40Speaker 1: the what we got here, firecracker. Dads, you gotta stay
- 39:43Speaker 1: hydrated out there, have.
- 39:45Speaker 5: To stay hydrated, especially these are the dog days of summer.
- 39:48Speaker 5: I know schools back in session, but it is technically
- 39:50Speaker 5: the dog days of summer.
- 39:52Speaker 1: It is hot for the dads out there who are
- 39:54Speaker 1: football dads. This is the dog days of the season.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Because I hope you guys all, I had a great
- 40:00Speaker 1: time watching all the college football games over the weekend,
- 40:04Speaker 1: I did as well, and then I sit there and
- 40:07Speaker 1: recap and reflect on, like, you know, how do you
- 40:12Speaker 1: get better from the stot from the side of like
- 40:15Speaker 1: family and hubby.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 1: So, although I hope you enjoyed all your games, I
- 40:18Speaker 1: need you to watch tape. I need you to self
- 40:21Speaker 1: scout on how we can get better at home. Incorporating that,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I'm already thinking, like, Okay, if I tell you how
- 40:28Speaker 1: to get out for an afternoon, and look, you can't
- 40:31Speaker 1: get around the NFL's on Sunday, colleges on Saturday. The
- 40:34Speaker 1: NFL industry is trying to take over basically every day
- 40:37Speaker 1: of the week. Yeah, but if I'm gonna tell a
- 40:39Speaker 1: wife you to get out, I need to have a
- 40:41Speaker 1: game plan. I can I can keep ru at bay.
- 40:45Speaker 1: With Ru, I can affect the pocket, I can stop
- 40:47Speaker 1: the run. I can get her thrown outside the numbers.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I can get you disrupt her at the line of scrimmage.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I can do those things for Scottie. For scott Zilla,
- 40:57Speaker 1: she's a different little animal. I'm looking at the little
- 41:00Speaker 1: rugrats pins like, Okay, maybe you know, if I get
- 41:02Speaker 1: a little pan, throw some toys in there and kind
- 41:04Speaker 1: of just let her loose, so that way she's in
- 41:05Speaker 1: a vicinity.
- 41:07Speaker 2: That's one.
- 41:07Speaker 1: It's like, what is it. You can't stop them, you
- 41:10Speaker 1: can only hope to contain them.
- 41:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's scott Zilla.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Yes, I was seeing those videos are rude with the
- 41:15Speaker 5: harmonica just being so sweet doing her harmonica thing. I
- 41:19Speaker 5: look in the background, mother in laws just hunched over
- 41:22Speaker 5: scott Zilla. Scott Zilla is like on a mini bar,
- 41:24Speaker 5: like trying to.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Tear it a bar, Like, oh my god.
- 41:28Speaker 2: That's my crackit.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Cult one is we got this little harmonica and it
- 41:31Speaker 1: is the most adorable thing ever. She hits the A one, two,
- 41:35Speaker 1: three and she starts blowing in it. I'll send you
- 41:38Speaker 1: the video so that way we can play it on
- 41:40Speaker 1: the show. But dude, it is. It is adorable. So
- 41:44Speaker 1: that one, that's when I sit there, I'm smiling. It's
- 41:46Speaker 1: like I can crack a cold.
- 41:47Speaker 2: That one.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Also new friends at school there.
- 41:50Speaker 1: We did like our first little like not parent teacher conference,
- 41:53Speaker 1: but something with so like you meet with the teachers
- 41:54Speaker 1: and kind of go over what they do in the classroom,
- 41:56Speaker 1: go through a day in the life of a kid
- 41:59Speaker 1: at the school. And so we got to meet a
- 42:01Speaker 1: few new parents and there's this one gentleman I met,
- 42:04Speaker 1: and I'll keep their names out of it.
- 42:05Speaker 2: But they had just.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Started that day. You made a new friend.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I made a new friend, Oh wow, little dad friend
- 42:11Speaker 1: and exchange numbers or nothing. Okay, cool, play yeah plane
- 42:14Speaker 1: it cool and uh, but made friends with him. They
- 42:17Speaker 1: had just started that day, moved from the Northeast. That
- 42:19Speaker 1: was their day one of going to school.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 42:22Speaker 2: And her his daughter.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Is in the same class, same age as Rue.
- 42:26Speaker 1: So I go home and I'm talking to Rue about
- 42:28Speaker 1: this new friend and I'm like, oh, was it her
- 42:29Speaker 1: first day? And she said yeah. And I'm like, do
- 42:31Speaker 1: you feel like she was nervous or scared or anything.
- 42:33Speaker 1: She's like, I don't know. And I'm like, were you
- 42:37Speaker 1: nervous or scared your first and she's like yeah. I
- 42:39Speaker 1: was like when you see so and so tomorrow you
- 42:40Speaker 1: should go be like, hi, I'm Rue and ask her
- 42:42Speaker 1: to play and be friends with her and be really
- 42:45Speaker 1: kind to her because I'm sure she's really nervous and scared,
- 42:48Speaker 1: just like you were on the first day, and you
- 42:50Speaker 1: want to make her feel welcome. And ever since then,
- 42:53Speaker 1: each day she brings up this little this, uh, this
- 42:56Speaker 1: toddlers there, we played together and did this and that,
- 42:58Speaker 1: so they seem like their friends. So it like warms
- 43:00Speaker 1: my heart that Ruth's taking the practice tape and taking
- 43:03Speaker 1: it out to the game.
- 43:05Speaker 5: This is literally we brought up Bluie before the episode.
- 43:09Speaker 5: That was the episode of Blue that watched over the weekend.
- 43:12Speaker 2: How good is Blue? Buddy?
- 43:14Speaker 3: I was so wrong. I have the coldest take like
- 43:16Speaker 3: episode one or two about Blue. I'm sorry, would you
- 43:19Speaker 3: say about Blue?
- 43:19Speaker 2: Agan?
- 43:20Speaker 5: I said, Oh, the kids are yelling at the dad
- 43:22Speaker 5: and the show. I don't know if I want my
- 43:23Speaker 5: kid watching that.
- 43:24Speaker 3: What an Elle take? Yeah, it's a what a Baylor
- 43:28Speaker 3: versus auburn Elle.
- 43:31Speaker 5: But to the point quickly, people hate what they don't understand.
- 43:35Speaker 3: They do.
- 43:36Speaker 2: People hate what they don't understand.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Blue makes a new friend at the park. Guess who
- 43:40Speaker 5: the friend is with at the park. Their dad blues
- 43:43Speaker 5: with her dad and the dads start becoming friends as well.
- 43:48Speaker 3: On the little part, it's a good show. It's a
- 43:50Speaker 3: good show.
- 43:51Speaker 2: It's a good show.
- 43:52Speaker 5: I'm glad that you that you made a new friend.
- 43:54Speaker 5: Is there a follow up plan? Where are you going
- 43:56Speaker 5: to hang out with this guy?
- 43:57Speaker 2: Slow play play hard to get. I like that, you
- 44:00Speaker 2: know what I mean. I think next time we go
- 44:01Speaker 2: over shake hands.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Hey, my daughter was telling me this bond over our
- 44:04Speaker 1: daughters being friends type angle.
- 44:07Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying, And maybe just take the
- 44:09Speaker 5: blue route and just go little you know, parking out
- 44:12Speaker 5: date little parts.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Matter of fact, we got to part parking out later today,
- 44:17Speaker 1: so we gotta keep the show under out.
- 44:18Speaker 3: Oh okay, gotta keep on because it's it's Labor Day.
- 44:22Speaker 3: It is Labor day.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Labor day as we record this.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Hey, and by the way, I said last week that
- 44:27Speaker 1: if you guys wanted your you wanted stuff to be
- 44:30Speaker 1: potentially featured on the show, to comment within those first
- 44:33Speaker 1: forty eight hours.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 44:35Speaker 1: That was It was a little stressful going through all
- 44:38Speaker 1: the comments and screenshots that I have, like eight more
- 44:40Speaker 1: on here that I didn't get to because I'm thinking,
- 44:43Speaker 1: we don't have to. You know, we can't just sit
- 44:44Speaker 1: here and talk to YouTube comments. I wish we could,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I know, but thank you and Derek You've been crushing
- 44:49Speaker 1: and responding to everybody in YouTube. I was checking, I
- 44:52Speaker 1: was checking seeing all the replies. I see our a
- 44:54Speaker 1: little for the Dad's logo, but this has been our
- 44:56Speaker 1: most Last week was our most comment on episode.
- 44:58Speaker 5: YEP, and twice sent Derek a tweet that was like, bro,
- 45:03Speaker 5: this would be great to engage with, and before I
- 45:06Speaker 5: said it, I didn't check to see if old Derek
- 45:08Speaker 5: had seen himself and engage with it. And both times
- 45:11Speaker 5: I looked like a fool because for the dads was
- 45:14Speaker 5: ride under that tweet. He's already engaged.
- 45:16Speaker 1: He's one of those teammates where you might think you're
- 45:19Speaker 1: telling him something, but they've already picked up the pace
- 45:21Speaker 1: to where you're like, okay, I need to pick up
- 45:22Speaker 1: my shit and.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Guess what he doesn't do oh, or he did it.
- 45:27Speaker 3: He would never you thumbs up one of them.
- 45:31Speaker 5: And then I'm looking like it said, you know two
- 45:33Speaker 5: hours ago before the dad's I'm like, oh baby, big time,
- 45:35Speaker 5: he's on it.
- 45:36Speaker 7: One thing I do want to say a lot of
- 45:38Speaker 7: the comments we're getting voicemails, there are some people who
- 45:42Speaker 7: get a little defeated if they don't see there's on
- 45:44Speaker 7: a show and feel like you guys aren't seeing them,
- 45:47Speaker 7: And so I'm making it my priority, no matter if
- 45:49Speaker 7: we talk it on the show or whatever it is.
- 45:50Speaker 7: Comments DMS voicemails, emails, Will and Sharan do see as
- 45:55Speaker 7: much as humanly possible. There's a lot of people who
- 45:57Speaker 7: are like, I don't know if Sharm's going to see this,
- 45:59Speaker 7: or I don't know if I will actually looks at
- 46:00Speaker 7: these these two just to confirm the community care so
- 46:03Speaker 7: much about you guys. Number one priority is getting those
- 46:06Speaker 7: in front of you. Just so you guys know, there
- 46:08Speaker 7: are people out there saying that we're getting as much
- 46:10Speaker 7: in front of you two as we can.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Let go just on Derek saying that, just again because
- 46:15Speaker 1: we did all the comments at the top of the episode. Yeah,
- 46:17Speaker 1: and I didn't read any that Derek and I were
- 46:19Speaker 1: sitting here talking about going over butte shouting out Kylie Canter.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Not sure if Shermer will to your point, not sure
- 46:27Speaker 1: if Will Shermer will actually see these, but if so,
- 46:29Speaker 1: thank you guys for the podcast. You've really helped my
- 46:31Speaker 1: husband have a healthier mindset entering fatherhood. We're seven weeks
- 46:35Speaker 1: into the trenches with baby boy, and having the pot
- 46:38Speaker 1: has really helped him have a more positive outlook on
- 46:40Speaker 1: those two am diaper changes with the little heart emoji,
- 46:44Speaker 1: He's got me listened to each week and we both
- 46:46Speaker 1: thoroughly enjoy another one from Martha Byrne from Milk Team
- 46:50Speaker 1: six Milk Team six operator here, I'd like to issue
- 46:53Speaker 1: a Bravo Zulu to Shrham in one show for fully
- 46:56Speaker 1: indoctorating my husband into PT.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Six.
- 46:58Speaker 1: My favorite is when it's his turn to change a
- 47:01Speaker 1: blow out and all I hear upstairs is good Kennedy

- 47:10Speaker 1: eight weeks, but what is your orthodona say?
- 47:15Speaker 2: He says?
- 47:17Speaker 1: He says, it'll get a chuckle from your wife and
- 47:19Speaker 1: then you hit her with the you play your cards right,
- 47:23Speaker 1: Daddy'll mount you.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Wait, I didn't tell you about my deployment of said
- 47:28Speaker 5: line last week?
- 47:30Speaker 3: Did I know?
- 47:30Speaker 5: I used the line and it got a big chuckle?
- 47:35Speaker 5: Just she was getting wifey in front of Joe. Oh yeah,
- 47:38Speaker 5: we're in the kitchen. She's kind of she's getting a
- 47:40Speaker 5: little bit of an attitude with me.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Kind of reminded me she.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Bend over and put a dish in the dishwasher and
- 47:44Speaker 1: you kind of give her a little hump.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Dude, I was acting up.
- 47:50Speaker 5: I was acting She's trying to like, kind of get
- 47:52Speaker 5: onto me because I'm not good in the kitchen and
- 47:54Speaker 5: I'm being goofy, and you know, her tones getting a
- 47:56Speaker 5: little more angry and stuff. I said, in the way
- 47:58Speaker 5: you're talking to me right now, I kind of like it,
- 48:01Speaker 5: and she gets she gets more angry. I said, there
- 48:05Speaker 5: you go. Yeah, and she that kind of broke her
- 48:08Speaker 5: and she started laughing. I said, you keep on talking
- 48:10Speaker 5: to me like that, daddy my mounta yet.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, sir, yes sir.
- 48:15Speaker 3: And she chuckled. I didn't chuckle off the pup list.
- 48:21Speaker 5: I here's okay. I knew that this was coming, and
- 48:24Speaker 5: I just want to say.
- 48:24Speaker 1: I wasn't thinking until just now. Just to be full transparency.
- 48:28Speaker 5: It's totally fine. I want to be respectful of my wife,
- 48:30Speaker 5: so I don't. Okay, but uh oh, not to change
- 48:35Speaker 5: the subject. Did I tell you six Flags over Texas?
- 48:38Speaker 5: Have you been to that theme park?
- 48:39Speaker 2: Not to No, not six Flags.
- 48:42Speaker 1: I've been to Chicago and Cincinnati six Flags when I
- 48:45Speaker 1: did a little a theme.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Park tour, amusement park tour with my boy Logan back
- 48:48Speaker 2: in the day.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Okay, there's a great ride there. It's called Shockwave. It's

- 48:54Speaker 5: ride it. Yeah, it's a lot of fun. Yay, it's
- 48:58Speaker 5: got two loops on it. It's a quick one. It's

- 49:08Speaker 3: Yeah, we wrote chalk Wave Die. It was great.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Nice.
- 49:12Speaker 5: It's a fun coaster. If you're on I thirty you
- 49:14Speaker 5: can see it. From I thirty, I'm picking up what
- 49:16Speaker 5: you're putting down.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Come on, okay, cracking cold.
- 49:22Speaker 2: You gotta keep this one under an hour.
- 49:24Speaker 3: Did you already say your cold one? Oh?
- 49:27Speaker 5: Just Scarlet over the weekend absolutely crushed it.
- 49:31Speaker 3: She talked yet not yet, Yeah, takes a while.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I keep on Scotty. All she says is dad, that dad,
- 49:39Speaker 1: Yeah she said. She says dad Dad for sure. All
- 49:42Speaker 1: she can say is dad dad, And I'll be like
- 49:44Speaker 1: da she made that Dada dad dad.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Yes, Scott.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Bro she is squirrely.
- 49:58Speaker 5: I've yet to interact with Scott. I gotta get around
- 50:01Speaker 5: Scotty and yeah, and we gotta get Scarlet in on
- 50:04Speaker 5: that energy.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Like I want Scarlett to like kind of pick up
- 50:07Speaker 3: on that.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:08Speaker 5: If Scott Zilla rubbed some of that up off on Scarlett.
- 50:11Speaker 3: I'm more than happy.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Okay, but Scarlett, Scarlett's kind of her own little beast.
- 50:15Speaker 5: She's kind of killing it.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, tell me more, tell us more. Beat six ers.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Want to know, get sixers.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Let me tell you what are we to? Nine weeks old?
- 50:26Speaker 8: Uh?
- 50:27Speaker 3: This will be right now? Her two month mark?
- 50:32Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, her two month mark on the third, Okay,
- 50:36Speaker 5: let's go.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Uh.
- 50:37Speaker 5: So, the weekend was great. I told Chef and Derek
- 50:41Speaker 5: minus the Baylor game result, flawless weekend, truly flawless weekend.
- 50:49Speaker 3: I told you.
- 50:50Speaker 5: I told you on that text. I was like, it
- 50:52Speaker 5: was so refreshing. It was like Jill and I connecting
- 50:57Speaker 5: really well. We're doing all this fun stuff back in
- 51:00Speaker 5: our hometown. We're introducing Scarlett to all of our closest
- 51:04Speaker 5: friends and family. We took Scarlet to the Baylor game.
- 51:07Speaker 5: We made it all the way till the three minute
- 51:09Speaker 5: twenty second mark when Jackson Arnold put the nail on
- 51:12Speaker 5: the coffin, and I was like, all right, I gotta
- 51:14Speaker 5: get my baby girl back to the hotel room because
- 51:16Speaker 5: it was hot?
- 51:18Speaker 2: Was it because she couldn't make it any more?
- 51:21Speaker 3: Was it because the game was well? Game was.
- 51:25Speaker 5: We were trying to be good parents and Jill was
- 51:29Speaker 5: wanting to go back and she was being very sweet
- 51:31Speaker 5: and Langley stay and once on that fourth and whatever
- 51:34Speaker 5: it was fourth and three and they scored. I was like, okay,
- 51:37Speaker 5: we can leave fair and I got one of those
- 51:39Speaker 5: little bike whatever they're called.
- 51:42Speaker 3: Shout out those dude, shout out those bike whatever they're
- 51:45Speaker 3: calleds Man, you know what I'm talking about. The pedal bike.
- 51:48Speaker 3: The pedal bikes, they're like the little taxi drivers.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, we took that, buddy, Buddy, we.
- 51:56Speaker 5: Took that from McClean stage. Oh, I fucked up. I
- 52:01Speaker 5: had a better dad loss, or not a better dad loss,
- 52:03Speaker 5: but I had another dad loss. But anyway, Scarlett was
- 52:06Speaker 5: my crackericle one. She killed it at the football game,
- 52:09Speaker 5: she killed it at the wedding. She killed it on
- 52:13Speaker 5: the flight.
- 52:16Speaker 1: She hit the bottle on the way up the ascension,
- 52:19Speaker 1: hit the bottle right before takeoff, and she literally home.
- 52:23Speaker 1: That's for their ears. By the way, any new dad's
- 52:24Speaker 1: coming into beat six.
- 52:26Speaker 3: That is for their ears.
- 52:27Speaker 2: It's for their ears.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Don't pop feeding the pop in the bottle as you're
- 52:31Speaker 1: taking off.
- 52:32Speaker 5: I'm like super on the day I didn't, I like,
- 52:35Speaker 5: hardly slept before the Baylor game was truly butterflies. You
- 52:38Speaker 5: would have thought that I was playing in the game.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Oh, I know what you're saying, bro.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I was like, going into Husker Sinsey, I was like,
- 52:47Speaker 1: I have nothing to do with this game, but these
- 52:49Speaker 1: eighteen to twenty two year olds, I feel so emotionally
- 52:52Speaker 1: invested that I felt like I was playing, that I
- 52:56Speaker 1: felt like I had a thirty play third down call
- 52:59Speaker 1: she where I had to go over every check. Yes,
- 53:02Speaker 1: what if we go to empty? What if they motioned
- 53:03Speaker 1: it empty? What if they go from empty and back in?
- 53:05Speaker 1: Are we getting back to the original call? All these
- 53:07Speaker 1: things going to my head? Are am I going to
- 53:09Speaker 1: get exposed today? That I felt on game day as
- 53:12Speaker 1: a pro and in college, I felt that on.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Just us playing the Cincinnati Bearcat.
- 53:18Speaker 2: So I feel you, my.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Friend couldn't just felt Yeah?
- 53:22Speaker 1: And on the way to the stadium for the game,
- 53:25Speaker 1: I started to get tired. And that is exactly how
- 53:27Speaker 1: I would operate like even on game days for myself,
- 53:30Speaker 1: is you're just amp. You're trying to do all these things,
- 53:32Speaker 1: my little game day routine, study, habits everything, and then
- 53:35Speaker 1: we're taking the team bus over and for whatever reason,
- 53:38Speaker 1: I feel like a little sleepy. I feel like it
- 53:40Speaker 1: was like a big nerves thing.
- 53:42Speaker 3: Yes, I had to go to Dutch Bros. Shout out
- 53:44Speaker 3: Dutch Bros.
- 53:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and get a little Ice Americana with two espresso
- 53:48Speaker 5: shots right before the game. Yes, because I also was
- 53:51Speaker 5: feeling tired for no reason, because my heart was doing
- 53:54Speaker 5: this the entire y.
- 53:55Speaker 1: This is it.
- 53:56Speaker 3: I'm trying to rest Jill. I'm trying to get the
- 53:59Speaker 3: thing on Scarlet.
- 54:01Speaker 5: We have like this black we bought a black one
- 54:03Speaker 5: for the blackout, uh whatever, the little chess mount and
- 54:07Speaker 5: I'm trying to rush it.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Jill's like, you're you're gonna hurt her leg. You're rushing.
- 54:12Speaker 3: You're frustrated, You're trying to get to the game. You're
- 54:14Speaker 3: not taking your time and being sweet to Scarlet.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Would you say to her?
- 54:18Speaker 3: I literally I backed. I did not say bitch. I didn't.
- 54:23Speaker 3: I swallowed it.
- 54:26Speaker 5: She's right, it doesn't matter if we're there kickoff because
- 54:30Speaker 5: they don't sell beer in there, and I know Jill
- 54:32Speaker 5: wants to have a good time and I want to
- 54:34Speaker 5: have a good time too.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Crickets is right here.
- 54:36Speaker 5: Off Franklin Street, one of my favorite bars back in
- 54:39Speaker 5: the college days. I'm gonna go introduce Jill to that.
- 54:42Speaker 5: We're gonna go get some drinks and then we'll take
- 54:44Speaker 5: one of those trolley bikes. I know those trolley bikes
- 54:46Speaker 5: come by crickets, and we'll take that to the game.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Best decision I ever made.
- 54:51Speaker 2: I love that.
- 54:52Speaker 1: And you also reacted to what I said so quickly
- 54:55Speaker 1: that new listeners might be thinking, we call our wife's
- 54:57Speaker 1: bitch if they say something wrong.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, we don't, but we knew.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Yeah no, no, I didn't call her a bit. I
- 55:02Speaker 1: did not call her what you say to her, we
- 55:05Speaker 1: do that thing that we always do where we call
- 55:07Speaker 1: our wife a bitch. I didn't do it at that time.
- 55:10Speaker 5: No, what I did instead, what I did said I
- 55:13Speaker 5: was actually I was like nice for once, but oh dude,
- 55:17Speaker 5: it was great. And we only got in like two
- 55:20Speaker 5: minutes after kick. We only missed like the first drive.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Which was fine. We scored a field goal on the
- 55:25Speaker 3: first ye.
- 55:28Speaker 5: And then my shout out really quick. You follow them
- 55:32Speaker 5: on Instagram taking care of Babies. Yes, great, follow on Instagram.
- 55:37Speaker 5: That's the company that redid all the mom rooms at McLean.
- 55:42Speaker 3: Stadium, no way. Yeah, And buddy, you want to.
- 55:47Speaker 5: Talk about the trenches? Is that mom room? Dads are
- 55:51Speaker 5: allowed in it. When I walked in there, it was
- 55:54Speaker 5: a true war zone.
- 55:57Speaker 3: It was unreal.
- 55:59Speaker 5: I'll talk and like, mom's literally like breastfeeding. I'm like
- 56:02Speaker 5: walking in there, truly like eyes to the carpet because
- 56:06Speaker 5: I'm not trying to see anything right right. There was
- 56:09Speaker 5: some dad in there that a million percent told his wife,
- 56:12Speaker 5: I ain't gonna a fucking mom room. You can go
- 56:15Speaker 5: there by it, and she let him have it because
- 56:17Speaker 5: he was sitting there Indian style and the mom room
- 56:20Speaker 5: just rubbing her back with like.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Wasn't even watching the TV.
- 56:24Speaker 5: With the game on it in the thing, dude, it
- 56:28Speaker 5: is truly in hell, just rubbing her back with the
- 56:32Speaker 5: blankest stare, and she's just.
- 56:36Speaker 3: I only looked for a second. I didn't see anything
- 56:38Speaker 3: but breastfeeding. He was rubbing her back.
- 56:42Speaker 5: I was like, buddy, I feel you, buddy, Buddy, I
- 56:45Speaker 5: feel you. He was auburn tiger, so he had nothing
- 56:47Speaker 5: to be sad.
- 56:48Speaker 1: That's the time where you need, like, we need just something.
- 56:50Speaker 1: The little pet sixpence you just throw. No, I wanted
- 56:54Speaker 1: to Yeah, lifeline.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, Bud good.
- 56:59Speaker 5: You could tell the other moms in there when dads
- 57:01Speaker 5: would walk in, there was like a collective like anger
- 57:05Speaker 5: building of their husbands that dad could come. Why couldn't
- 57:11Speaker 5: you come?
- 57:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 57:12Speaker 5: And then I'm feeling bad for my pt sixers out there.
- 57:15Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, no, they're gonna get it once she
- 57:17Speaker 5: gets back, because she's gonna be like, there were six
- 57:19Speaker 5: dads in there. Yeah, and guess he wasn't in there?
- 57:22Speaker 5: You your fat ass, But what are you talking about?
- 57:27Speaker 5: The fuck?
- 57:30Speaker 2: I bet them dads ain't in there?
- 57:31Speaker 5: Seven beer's d Was he wearing like a Was he
- 57:35Speaker 5: wearing one of them golf bosers him gave? If he
- 57:38Speaker 5: asked golf boss? I bet he was.
- 57:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:42Speaker 3: By me, i'mnna want them gay dads. Was he a
- 57:48Speaker 3: biler guy? I bet he's butler won't he had polo?
- 57:52Speaker 3: Probably biler god? Unreal?
- 57:57Speaker 2: Was he wearing a fainted pet.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Todd as dreaming? You see his boots through his jeans.
- 58:05Speaker 3: That's another thing, dude, don't let your boots show through
- 58:07Speaker 3: your pant leg.
- 58:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I've I've learned that the hard.
- 58:11Speaker 5: I saw a lot of that going on this weekend,
- 58:14Speaker 5: kind of hurt the heart. And then I'm so sorry
- 58:16Speaker 5: I've been talking so much to wrap up the game.
- 58:19Speaker 5: I wasn't gonna bring this up, but I'm gonna bring
- 58:21Speaker 5: up on the pod because it actually is a funny story.
- 58:25Speaker 5: I have no animosity towards Wardamn Eagle Country, and I
- 58:30Speaker 5: think you guys played a fabulous game. And I love
- 58:32Speaker 5: Auburn fans and I have a lot of family there
- 58:34Speaker 5: Auburn Tigers.
- 58:36Speaker 1: I'm glad you said because we have a huge audience.
- 58:38Speaker 1: It's a huge audience, that's all Auburn.
- 58:41Speaker 3: So many people.
- 58:42Speaker 5: Hitting me up on Twitter said hey gg gs, Pat Safford,
- 58:46Speaker 5: sorry we had to do it to you, Wardamn. But
- 58:51Speaker 5: there were these two guys that were borderline blackout drunk
- 58:56Speaker 5: and Jill and I seeds and I think it was
- 59:01Speaker 5: my first time having to be a dad and step
- 59:04Speaker 5: up to handle a situation, and things.
- 59:06Speaker 3: Got dicey for a second.
- 59:09Speaker 2: Please go on.
- 59:11Speaker 5: So I show up to the seats and they're in
- 59:13Speaker 5: our seats and it is crammed. I mean, this game
- 59:16Speaker 5: is packed, and I say, hey, I'm fourteen and fifteen,
- 59:20Speaker 5: where their butts are seats fourteen and fifteen. Oh yeah, Well,
- 59:24Speaker 5: Mike groom forty minute, they like skewed a little bit.
- 59:26Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, Bleacher, Yeah, I'm like all right, and
- 59:32Speaker 5: so I don't say anything.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Jill's not really picking up on it.
- 59:36Speaker 5: There was a non call pass interference call that was
- 59:39Speaker 5: very viral on Twitter that was in the end zone
- 59:42Speaker 5: right in front of me.
- 59:43Speaker 3: I go, what was that? Very loudly because I was
- 59:46Speaker 3: upset in.
- 59:48Speaker 5: My home turf and for the rest of the game, dude,
- 59:52Speaker 5: when Baylor would mess up, this little dude on my shoulder,
- 59:56Speaker 5: drunk as a skunk is bumping me and going what
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: the hell.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Dude, Auburn's some passive fears every.
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: Play, dude, man like, well, just trying to get my head.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: But he's like bumping me and I'm bumping Jill, and
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: so Jill's like, you gotta do something, like you have
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: to say time to step up, dad, And I was like,
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: I gotta be a fucking dad in this moment.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Time to be a Papa Seal.
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: And I slowly turned over him and I said, hey,
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: what's your ticket for?
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Like, where are your seats? And he goes, what, dude, what?
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: I was like, where are your seats?
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Cause we're fourteen and fifteen and you're sitting in fourteen
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: and fifteen. They're like our cousin's in the band or
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: cousins in the band?
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Dude, what are.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: You talking about?
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: I was like, well, you're bumping into me and I'm
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: hitting my two month old baby right there, and you're
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: in my seats.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: If you're cheering for Auburn, that is fine, and you
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: can make fun of Baylor, that's okay. But once you
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: start bumping me and now I'm bumping my girl and
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: she's holding our little scarlet, and it all worked itself out,
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: it got a little dicey. I had to stop talking
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: because they started mouthing off. And then some Auburn fans
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: kind of got in the mix and helped us a
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: little bit. They were seats like twenty eight and twenty nine.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: They're like a mile away. They're in the wrong seats.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Did they get up and go?
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Yeah, we got all figured out. They got a little
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: dicey there. I'm sorry.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: I just talked for a very long time. You go, no,
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: I just talked way too long.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: I'm not sitting here waiting on my turn to talk.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: I'm listening to your story.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm thinking, I don't know if I enjoy how
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: you just ended that story. I know like I needed to.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I need to feel that your presence is actually there.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: See you keep bumping in me. There's gonna be a problem.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: So the girl, okay, so the girlfriend, I'll go, there's
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: gonna be an issue right now.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: You can fill the rest of the gaps with your
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: own imagination. I'm thinking, you know, maybe Jill said something
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: to him.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: You just sat there, Okay, so Jill said you need
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: to say that part that she said you need to
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: say something. So I started it like, hey, be a man, yes,
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: and I stepped in. But I was going with I
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: was going, like with the smart ass thing because I'm like, buddy,
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: you're in my fucking seat. Like I was being nice
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: at first, but now you're just a drunk.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Asshole in my seat. There we go, where are we doing?
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: And uh, He's like, I mean our cousins in the
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: band and we're like we're trying to watch you.

- 1:02:36Speaker 5: each of one of his excuses, I'm like, yeah, but
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: you're in my seat. And then his girlfriend tried to
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: step in and be like, wait, if it's such.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: A problem, we'll move.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: We'll move if it's such a problem, and then Jill

- 1:02:52Speaker 5: two month old and your friend is bumping into us
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: and bumping into our baby and they're not even in
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: the right seats. And then that's when like people start
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: coming in to be like, yeah, like get like so Jill,
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: Jill did it.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Yeah, she had the finishing, She had the finishing.

- 1:03:36Speaker 6: two months old, and is that just.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Looking literally as I like clocked out. Once they started moving.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: They were like chatting the whole time, like turning around
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: being like, hey, don't sit next to him. He'll have
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: a problem with you. Blah blah blah, and like making

- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Sure?
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Sureman?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: They like say something back to Sherman. Sherman just sitting
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: with you. Don't want to see me angry.
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: And I'm not intimidating at all. I'm not intimidating at all.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna take another quick potty break to
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: bring you True Classic. The boys are sponsored by True Classic.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Look at my man, shure him over there. Everybody keeps
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: saying fat Stafford, buddy, you look stacked.
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: I didn't want to say it. I didn't want to
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: say talking to the mic, I didn't want to say it.
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: And again apologies for not speaking to the mic. But
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: Fat Stafford's looking good.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Looking like stack Stafford. Baby.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Hey boys, you want a better shot at Mount and
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: your wife out there. You're throwing a True Classic tea.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: I know Jilly Bean was watching you walk around the
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: house last night. Hey, shirm dog boss man. Yeah, you've
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: been working out.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: Oh honey, you know I haven't been working out.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: What are you? Something about you looks different?
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Oh, it's just we're sponsored by this T Street company,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: True Classic. I'm wearing one right now.
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: This is a True Classic tea and it hugs me
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: in all the right places. It situates, hides that little tummy.
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: It's got fat Stafford looking good.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Baby.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna go put Scarlett down for a minute. You
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: can tackle me in the bedroom. How about that?
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: I would love to. Maybe.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Here's the cool part.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: True Classic just launched a boys line for those boy
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: dads out there. You can match, and honestly, it's way
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: better than those awkward family photo outfits and cheesy pajamas.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: You get to show up together, feel comfortable, and actually
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: look good doing it. The crazy thing is True Classic
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: has already sold over twenty five million shirts to more
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: than five million customers with over two hundred thousand and
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: five star reviews. So I am definitely not the only
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: dad who's figured this out. Sureman's not the only dad
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: who has figured this out. You can find them at Amazon, Target,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Select Costco, and Sam's Club locations, or just head to
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: True Classic dot com slash for the dads, trust me,
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: grab one and you'll thank me later.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: Jealous that the boy dad's got the boys line.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: Coming, jealus jealous three classic dot com slash.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: For the dad, slash for the dad's potty breakover.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Back to the episode, should go survival kit, Yes, quick
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: one webbin' u's I think I might've shout at him
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: out before. But again, Scotty's having a great time with
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: her little lama webbin ups. She's got a little moosy,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: she's got deer, and she's got lama. She loves them all.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: I cannot subscribe to the webbing up culture enough. You
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: know you've heard of Tygi Tige. You know the lure
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: of tiger. Yes, you get webbinops. They got the little
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: passy on the end. They might get weathered, they might
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: lose the passy. That'll be their little stuffy for life.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: So webbing ups, that's my survival kit. Is something to
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: have in the kit if you're going to become a
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: new father. You got a little one right now. Webbing us,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: they're the way to go. Love webbing ups. We have
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: two rolling into my dad hat.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Please.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: So we were on the road obviously with Arrowhead and
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Ohio State.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: When we were at Ohio State.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: It's Lee Corso's final game, right doing the last mascotthead
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: that's sound. There were a lot of different mascots at
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: the game celebrating lead course. So I'm thinking to myself,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I have to get a photo with each one of
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: these mascots so I can go home and show Rue.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: So my dad hacks just shouting out taking photos with mascots.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: No God to travel.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I wanted to travel because I wanted to get photos
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: with with mascots, some of your favorite animals, you know.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: I got with the Clemson Tiger, brutish, the buck guy. Uh,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: the West Virginia what's there?
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: The mountaineer, the mountaineer cat. Was it Kansas State?
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: It might not have been, uh will It couldn't have
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: been West Virginia.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: They were holding the Pat McAfee like he was like young,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: like a young picture of McAfee.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: So I just thought it was like West Virginia. Oh, okay,
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: were they.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: No?
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: It was a cat. I'm off, but either way, there's
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: a cat. Got one with the tiger, got one with
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: the buck guys, the.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: Duck, organ duck, got the organ? Yeah? I got to
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: because Rue has this massive fear of mascots. Oh no, yeah.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Whenever I took her to the Vanderbilt game, she was
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: very scared of the common commonwards.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: A little spooky.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but there was also they're playing Texas longhorns and
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: the long horn was there. But she was a little
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: nervous scared of the mascots. So it's always been a thing.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Yeah, come home and show where.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Mascots are nice. Mascots are good people. Yeah, kind even
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: though they're wearing the big head. Yeah, like they're good people.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: They're quality people. Good family, great, great, great family. I said, wow,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: look at these mascots. Oh wow, those are good, very
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: nice masks and Duck, very good mascot, great family, equax.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: He does quiet.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Oh that's why Dad hack thake photos of mascots.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Show the kiddos when you get home.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: I love that quick survival kitten that hack for myself.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: You have the survival kit, mom Cozy bottle brush kit
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: that came in handy this trip. It's basically just a
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: on the go It's the brush with a squirt nozzle
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: so you can put any soap that you'd like.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: To use to wash yourself.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Buddy.
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: It was very quick, like you get through that. That
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: that that also shout out graasy dude.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: We were bumping some of her songs.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I was putting sure them on Gracie's corner before
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: we started the pie and we were just we were
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: viving before the show started.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: To Veggie's each veggies each you Veggies.

- 1:09:25Speaker 5: to be up in the stars tonight because the stars
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: are so bright.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Boom.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: I said, make sure it's four minutes long, five minutes long,
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: and it was the best story of all time. I
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: was like, I'm gonna be doing this all the time.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Oh my god, dude, that's a great dad Hack. Thank you.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: I've never even thought about that. My wife will hate it.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: She for whatever reason, just hates Jedge. She hates the
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: AI stuf. She's like, that's fine, she's smart, she can

- 1:09:55Speaker 1: you got embrace the game. It's the game.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: It's the game.

- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I believe last week Dad lost, I was talking about
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: morning routines. He I mean, we use a sticker chart
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: to help get the kids ready in the morning. If
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: they fill it up to get a little toy. Also
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: a survival tip, keep an extra Roku remote. Hitting toddlers
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: love to walk off or lose the remotes. Nothing is
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: worse than getting the kids already asleep ready to watch
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: a game and this then spend the next fifteen minutes
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: looking for the remote. But I love the sticker chart,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Dad Hack, love the support. I know people were in
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: the comments kind of helping your boy out with the
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: morning routine stuff.

- 1:16:43Speaker 2: To know if everything went on. Get to the next one.
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: Hey, well, Inshtern, this is Aaron not You're ideal target audience.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: I'm not married, no kids, I'm obviously a female male,
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: but really just wanted to take the time to say you, guys,
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: is love for your children, your daughters especially well you
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: only have daughters, but I'm flumbling is just so encouraging.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: I'm calling because I have the best girl dad in
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: the whole entire world, and just yeah, that's all I mean.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: It honestly makes me emotional.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: But to hear you guys, speak so excitingly of your
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: girls and just the future that they have. I mean,
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: my dad's had the biggest impact on me just in
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: sports specifically. I mean, I think we spend every single
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: Saturday on the couch watching every single game from eleven
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: am to eleven pm. Just the relationship with him, but
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: the relationship we've had with sports has me as a
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: twenty three year old working in the sports industry because
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: of him, and it's just really really special, and I
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: just I think it's awesome what you guys are doing
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: with this platform and the love you have for your girls.
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: So thanks for being awesome girl, dads, and just know
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: your influence is so strong because my dad's my favorite
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: person in the whole entire world, and I hope your
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: girls feel the same for years and years and years
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: to come.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: Keep it up.
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: I've watched every single episode on When Say Again, not
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: your target audience, but you got something going and it's
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: great and you're y'all are awesome.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: So dude, that's awesome. You can't tell right now? Your boy, Yeah,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: you got water in the eyes too. That's I think
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: that's every girl's dad dream right there. He's your daughter
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: talking about you.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: Like that. That's good.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: Bud Ah Brady the hard ball playing right now. Don't
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: to me.
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: She brought the whole damn house down. She brought the
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: whole house down. We got Tyler Pruitt in Bulldog Country
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: go Dolls calling on the way to the hospital. And
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: I got this girl that I've never met in my
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: life making me cry. What the hell?
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Not even a parent just want to call in and
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: show love because she has a a great girl.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: Dad.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: I can't even talk about it.
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: Crazy, I can't even talk about it. Wow, thank you
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: so much for calling in, Like, yeah, thank you, that's crazy.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: That's cool. Man.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: I want to talk about it, but I can. I'm
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: gonna I'll start crying.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: It's like the water started to fill my eyes. Every
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Saturday watch his ball like she's in the sports industry
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: and shot.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: I will say this. I won't cry saying this. Shout
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: out her dad, Shout out her dad. He's for sure
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: a PT sixer, he's a legend.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: And your daughter's twenty three.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: This isn't somebody you know, I know for myself in
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: their thirties, with such like retrospect on what your parents
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: did for you, that those types of words are coming
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: out now. Yeah, and when you're like older, really this
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: is twenty three, yeah, like fresh out of college.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: And knowing how good of a dad she has.
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: I don't feel I'm not saying this for like, oh sureman,
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: you are desert, but like I don't feel deserving of
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: that type of phone call. That's crazy, that's so kind,
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: that's unreel.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: Because she's twenty three.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: It's like that like Greu's only three right now. I
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: you hope in twenty years that's how she's talking about
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: her old man.
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: Yes, I'm like we I won't lump you in there.
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: I'm an idiot on here talking about goom berets and
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: roadshock wave and being a goofball and there's something twenty
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: three year old that's like these guys are great.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: That's talking about mountain or white. You play your cards right,
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: Daddy's gonna mount you and we're good.
- 1:20:35Speaker 8: Dad.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: I'll take it.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I'll take absolutely, gotta catch you, gotta catch you to
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: catch it for ball and hold it.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: And you know what we are like that.
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: The mission statements has it perfectly. We're just messing up
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: along the way, but we're trying. Yeah, we're trying let's
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: get to our lesson. I brought that.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: I brought out the old the Daily Dad from Ryan Holiday.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: To me, this is a staple that all dad should have.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: You don't have to sit here and agree with every
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: page and everything that's written on here. But there is
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: a lot of quality, a lot of good stuff. I
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: was reading on a part last week. This is August
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: twentieth and is titled Encourage the Dream. It's not that
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: parents don't believe in their kids. It's that they know
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: the world is hard. They know that the odds are long,
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: and most of all, nobody wants harm or crushing disappointment
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: to come to their children. That's why we discouraged them
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: from dropping out, from trying to make it as a musician,
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: from quitting their job to start a company.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: We're just worried.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Will Ferrell, one of the greatest comedic actors of all time,
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: as we've talked about, certainly challenge his parents in this way.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: You're going to become a sketch comedium what Even his father,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: a working musician, had reservations about his pursuing such an uncertain,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: unstable career. Thankfully he caught himself before Will came down
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: for advice, putting his very natural, understandable worries on the
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: back burner.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Roy Lee Farrell led.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: With support and you know what, I think you have
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: the skill, but it takes a lot of luck. If
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: you don't make it, don't worry about it. You can
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: just try something else. Roy Lee was communicating to Will
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: from his own hard won experience, just how hard and
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: unlikely success was in one of those much dreamed of
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: career fields. He was saying, you're talented and I believe
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: in you, but it's going to be really hard, so
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: hard that if it doesn't work, you have to understand
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: that it's just a reflection on the industry and not
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: on you as a person. That is an incredible gift
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: to give your children permission to try, along with permission
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: to fail, the signal that you'll support them either way,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: that nothing changes based on the path they choose, the
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: heights they reach, or the marks they fall short of.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Encourage the dream. Thank you, Ryan Holiday, Daily Dad, shout
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: out to Daily Dad. A lot of great lessons, a
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: lot of great stuff in here. Three hundred and sixty
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: six meditations. I know I said this in the first
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: episode on parenting, Love and raising great kids, and that's
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: some bangers read.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: No, I don't read at all. This is a book
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: that sits. It doesn't happen every day.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit here and tell you I
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: am perfect at reading this book every day. But it's
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: a book that sits on our dining room table. Our
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: dining table every day because we we eat dinner as
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: a family every day that we possibly can.
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: And as we're eating.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: I usually read a page on the day of Yeah,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: and it's okay to skip a you know, if you miss,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: if you're not home for a couple of days, or
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: you're out on the road and you miss, just pick
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: open the book and go to the date that the
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: date that you're on.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: I don't worry about catching up, just read.
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: Yes, I feel like that that type of book is
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: a really good gateway drug for somebody that's trying to
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: get addicted to reading.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: Yeah, those little daily it's an easy read.
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: Yes, very much like the Coach I already forgot the
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: title of that book, but the one Coaches Playbook, Coaches Playbook.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: Coaches Playbook that your old man Papa Shroom gave us.
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: Yes, I do we have time that I do my lesson. Yeah,
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: it's very God.
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: Do we have time? That question is for you.
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: It's very quick.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Yes, we had time.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Okay, we have time. Okay. I read the last week.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: People loved it.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: People loved it.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Lest emotional. I will not cry, and I'm not going
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: to quote a move. We'll see if you don't grow Okay,
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: all right?
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: So I wrote this on the plane on the way
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: back from Texas.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: I wrote this. Sorry you wrote this. I read this.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: Let's go. Man.
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: After spending this past weekend in my hometown in Fort Worth,
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: I realized there is something special about home and family
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: that will never fade with age. Pulling up to my
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: mom's house and seeing her car in the driveway, my
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: dad in the living room window with his dog stage
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: the Texas game is already on the screen. My parents
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: ordered takeout from one of our favorite family restaurants that
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: we used to take that they used to take us
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: to as kids. I'm safe and happy and instantly feel
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: a nap coming on as I sit down on the
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: living room sofa. After catching up in kitchen with mom
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: and dad. Even driving through where I grew up in
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: Alito and seeing the old places I know and love,
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: I find so much comfort in the memories I've made
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: with family and friends and how those places, things, and
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: people shaped me into the person I am today.
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: I cannot wait.
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: To pass along the same experience to Scarlett our little unit,
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: finding our favorite restaurants, Her walking into her parents' home
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: and instantly recognizing the smells, Her excited to bring friends
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: over to share in our home experience, her seeing me
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: waving in the living room window looking like a goofball
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: with our family dog. I am overwhelmed with the excitement
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: for the opportunity to build her nostalgia bank of memories.
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: I can't wait to provide her the family slash home
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: that my parents provided me.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: DINNI kra bitch. That was so good. What would you
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: hate it with that?
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: That was really good man, Thanks dude, Thank you, Willy
