- 2:58Speaker 5: We've been together for over twelve years, married for over seven,
- 3:03Speaker 5: about to be eight. Yeah, we've been we've been together
- 3:07Speaker 5: a while, and we're here to share our story and
- 3:09Speaker 5: our message about relationships. We're passionate about it. We just
- 3:13Speaker 5: see how valuable relationships are, how impactful they are to
- 3:17Speaker 5: the future generation, how the impactfully welse there were to us.
- 3:22Speaker 5: We want to make marriages great again. So that's what
- 3:24Speaker 5: we're here for.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Make marriages great again. That's something to be working towards
- 3:29Speaker 2: making great again.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I like that. Let's get that on it.
- 3:32Speaker 7: Okay, definitely, And with that being said, they brought a
- 3:38Speaker 7: little bit of what the show is about tonight.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Tonight we are going to be talking about love language.
- 3:43Speaker 2: We know that there's different ways of communication verbal. You know,
- 3:48Speaker 2: you've got your body language, but when it comes to relationships,
- 3:54Speaker 2: we want to talk about love language. And as the
- 3:56Speaker 2: beautiful couple just mentioned, we want to give some tips
- 3:59Speaker 2: on just understanding each other and just communicating better. So,
- 4:03Speaker 2: without further ado, I want to go, let's jump right
- 4:08Speaker 2: in because we don't have a lot of time, and
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know I can go on and on and on,
- 4:13Speaker 2: but I want to give our beautiful guests a chance.
- 4:15Speaker 2: There are some of their experiences and some of their things,
- 4:18Speaker 2: So again, welcome to Bad to Business. We are talking
- 4:22Speaker 2: about love language. I did some research on some things.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Jazz and I have talked a little bit about it before,
- 4:29Speaker 2: about the different types of love languages. And I come
- 4:33Speaker 2: across you have the words of affirmation, you have touch,
- 4:36Speaker 2: you have gifts, you have service and quality time. Right,
- 4:40Speaker 2: the words of affirmation are like compliments, encouragements. The I
- 4:44Speaker 2: love to use the go, get thems, all those motivational
- 4:47Speaker 2: words some people take or give that and very well,
- 4:53Speaker 2: you have your your touch love language, which deals with
- 4:56Speaker 2: physical affection like hugs, kisses, holding hands and any other
- 5:01Speaker 2: form of let me make this clear, non sexual physical closeness. Okay,
- 5:06Speaker 2: touch does not always mean it's something sexual. It could
- 5:09Speaker 2: just mean a rub on the back of hug those
- 5:11Speaker 2: types of things too. Then we come across which you
- 5:17Speaker 2: know can be given and receiving, and that's easy, but
- 5:22Speaker 2: a thoughtful give something that actually pertains to something or
- 5:26Speaker 2: has some type of actual meaning to somebody. That's that's
- 5:29Speaker 2: a form of love service. Doing something good for your
- 5:34Speaker 2: partner that makes their life easier. We all could use
- 5:36Speaker 2: some of that in all types of relationships. But when
- 5:40Speaker 2: it comes to you and your partner, that makes I
- 5:42Speaker 2: believe that makes a strong household and your QT quality time.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Of course, that's always a good thing in a successful relationship,
- 5:52Speaker 2: giving your undivided attention to and spending meaningful time engaging
- 5:59Speaker 2: in conversation and activity.
- 6:01Speaker 4: So again, quality time.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I'm really a stickler about that because you know, different relationships,
- 6:07Speaker 2: different strokes, different folks. A lot of people may feel
- 6:10Speaker 2: like because you're in the same room with your partner,
- 6:12Speaker 2: not talking, not communicating. Hey, we're in the same room
- 6:15Speaker 2: on separate phones. You know that that is spending time together.
- 6:21Speaker 2: And I just don't believe in that. To spend time
- 6:23Speaker 2: is the as it stated, the undivided attention, spending meaningful
- 6:28Speaker 2: time and engaging with each other.
- 6:30Speaker 4: So those are the five love.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Languages that have been noted I'll say thus far in
- 6:36Speaker 2: our society.
- 6:38Speaker 4: And so I wanted to give some tips and some things.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And like I said, just a conversation, give jazz a
- 6:44Speaker 2: chance and give the ricos a chance to talk about
- 6:46Speaker 2: some things they think.
- 6:48Speaker 4: So what do you guys think? What do you think
- 6:51Speaker 4: about language? Jazz?
- 6:54Speaker 3: I mean, like you said, it can be so many
- 6:59Speaker 3: different ways to show how you love someone. It could
- 7:01Speaker 3: be the littlest gesture to something huge, But it all
- 7:05Speaker 3: depends on you and your partner and if you guys
- 7:08Speaker 3: can communicate effectively with each other. And that actually brings
- 7:12Speaker 3: me to my question. You know, like our questions that
- 7:16Speaker 3: we have. But it's like you have to make sure
- 7:22Speaker 3: that whatever language you were speaking, your partner understands it
- 7:26Speaker 3: and vice versa. You have to understand each other in
- 7:29Speaker 3: order to make it work.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Communication.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It's all about communication, and that's one of the things
- 7:34Speaker 2: you say, is key mister and missus Rico, what do
- 7:38Speaker 2: you think about the five love languages and you know,
- 7:42Speaker 2: communication in a whole.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yeah, the final languages helped us tremendously understand each other,
- 7:48Speaker 5: under understand what if you loved, where did it come from,
- 7:55Speaker 5: and how to express it because there's a lot of
- 7:59Speaker 5: times where that we've experienced that it's hard to read
- 8:01Speaker 5: for us to receive love. For me, one of my
- 8:05Speaker 5: struggle love languages is words of estimation. But since in
- 8:09Speaker 5: the household that I grew up in, it wasn't really
- 8:11Speaker 5: that much like good job, shamp things like that. It's
- 8:17Speaker 5: and I expressed that to her was I don't even
- 8:19Speaker 5: know when a couple of days ago, where I like
- 8:22Speaker 5: how much he edifies me with the book and the
- 8:26Speaker 5: podcast and the events that I've been to and all
- 8:28Speaker 5: that stuff, And I was like, I'm just doing what
- 8:31Speaker 5: I need to do. And for her part, I don't
- 8:35Speaker 5: want to speak for her, but yeah, for her part,
- 8:37Speaker 5: it's a similar story as well.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 6: I mean I in a sense I kind of realized
- 8:42Speaker 6: that I, like he said, receiving the love language. Right,
- 8:48Speaker 6: So he does things and it be what I speak,
- 8:53Speaker 6: but I don't receive it very well. So I mean,
- 8:56Speaker 6: like just last month, we did a thirty day challenge
- 8:59Speaker 6: where we every single day we did whichever love language,
- 9:05Speaker 6: but we did something. We recorded ourselves. We posted it
- 9:08Speaker 6: on social media, and we realized that we were doing
- 9:13Speaker 6: the love languages, but we wasn't receiving them as much
- 9:17Speaker 6: as we thought. So we were doing it, but the
- 9:20Speaker 6: other person didn't even know, Like, you know, as simple
- 9:24Speaker 6: as like my husband giving me a ice cream cone
- 9:27Speaker 6: when I was relaxing. That to me was like, oh,
- 9:31Speaker 6: thank you so much. That's so sweet. But I never
- 9:33Speaker 6: saw it as like, oh, he's speaking a love language, right,
- 9:37Speaker 6: So in a sense, I think it's also the way
- 9:40Speaker 6: that you receive those and it comes to being grateful
- 9:46Speaker 6: and yeah, because like he could he could be speaking
- 9:51Speaker 6: a different language. But if I'm not grateful, then I'm
- 9:54Speaker 6: not going to receive it. So that's how I see things.
- 10:00Speaker 2: And that brings up an interesting point because you know,
- 10:03Speaker 2: being grateful allows you to recognize some things.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I was talking to someone else that was in a
- 10:10Speaker 2: relationship and it was kind of troubled and she kept
- 10:13Speaker 2: trying to do her efforts to make it. A thing
- 10:16Speaker 2: I had to point out to her is when your
- 10:18Speaker 2: other partner has mentally checked out already, you know, and
- 10:22Speaker 2: trying to prevent. But when your other partner has mentally
- 10:25Speaker 2: checked out already, they don't even see the attempts. Now,
- 10:27Speaker 2: in your case, you're you're not mentally checked out, but
- 10:32Speaker 2: you know you didn't readily identify that that was a
- 10:36Speaker 2: you know, a love language. But being grateful, you don't
- 10:39Speaker 2: see it as a love language. You can see it
- 10:41Speaker 2: as a love gesture. It doesn't have to be him
- 10:44Speaker 2: speaking to you in a way.
- 10:45Speaker 7: It's just him loving on you some type of way, right, So.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know how that could have made
- 10:51Speaker 2: your life. He do see it as a service, you know,
- 10:54Speaker 2: he brought you ice cream while you relaxing.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Even a gift, giving a gift like even just said,
- 11:01Speaker 6: like you can put it in whatever box you want,
- 11:05Speaker 6: but if you're not grateful, you're not gonna receive it
- 11:07Speaker 6: no matter what, you know what I mean. So it's
- 11:10Speaker 6: just I think a mindset shift that you have to
- 11:14Speaker 6: do within yourself of like, don't be so focused on
- 11:18Speaker 6: your own love language, be more grateful on whatever else
- 11:22Speaker 6: is doing for you, and then if you want, you
- 11:25Speaker 6: can put it on the box of like, oh, this
- 11:27Speaker 6: to me means a gift, or this to me means
- 11:29Speaker 6: an act of service.
- 11:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Well, and if you're speaking these love languages fluently, you
- 11:38Speaker 2: never really have to identify what type of language your
- 11:43Speaker 2: partner is speaking, because what you know is it's love.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I think we were talking before a brief moment where
- 11:48Speaker 2: I said, you know, I was real adamant about I
- 11:52Speaker 2: don't speak different love languages. My language is not bilingual. Okay,
- 11:56Speaker 2: I speak one language.
- 11:58Speaker 4: It is love.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Love is patient, love, this kind. So I am love
- 12:01Speaker 2: in all languages, right, But then I realized that that
- 12:05Speaker 2: is me speaking, that may not be the other person receiving,
- 12:08Speaker 2: and vice versa, you know, So it is definitely, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 2: a matter of who you're talking and how they're receiving it.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Voices.
- 12:17Speaker 2: You brought up a good point, and it was something
- 12:19Speaker 2: I was gonna bring up later on in the conversation.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But I'm glad you brought it up, and it was
- 12:23Speaker 2: you didn't grow up in a household that they kind
- 12:25Speaker 2: of did. That one of the things that we did
- 12:28Speaker 2: not consider or understand or even ask about is does
- 12:33Speaker 2: that person is that person able to receive it?
- 12:35Speaker 4: I mean give it?
- 12:37Speaker 2: You know, we could be asking for something from someone
- 12:41Speaker 2: and they're not able to give it. Right now, I
- 12:46Speaker 2: got kind of a take on this, and let me
- 12:47Speaker 2: see what you guys think about this. Now, even with
- 12:50Speaker 2: that being said, we're in a relationship. I feel like
- 12:55Speaker 2: how you grew up that is a big factor, but
- 12:59Speaker 2: how you grow with someone is a key factor. So
- 13:03Speaker 2: even though Moistes did not grow up in a household
- 13:06Speaker 2: like that, he's around someone who is doing that.
- 13:09Speaker 4: He's adapting to that.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And because you love your wife, I'm assuming that either
- 13:13Speaker 2: you're adaptive to trying to learn how to do that
- 13:17Speaker 2: or she has been okay now communicating with you and
- 13:20Speaker 2: understanding that this is why this for me and that
- 13:24Speaker 2: is okay. So how does that work after explaining to
- 13:28Speaker 2: her that that's not what you're used to or that's
- 13:31Speaker 2: not how you grew up, then, Bree, how do you
- 13:34Speaker 2: accept that? Is that accepting or is that something moist
- 13:36Speaker 2: is that you have decided you can work on. That's
- 13:38Speaker 2: one of my questions is just you know, this is
- 13:41Speaker 2: the language I speak. I can't speak that language or
- 13:45Speaker 2: I've you know, picked up some of Rosetta Stone lessons
- 13:48Speaker 2: on that.
- 13:50Speaker 5: I think's, uh, I'm just want to know. I think
- 13:54Speaker 5: that's a bit of both of me learning to and
- 13:57Speaker 5: also her not giving up showing me that love because
- 14:01Speaker 5: I know I need it, right, it's just a matter
- 14:03Speaker 5: of me being able to receive it. And she asked
- 14:06Speaker 5: me yesterday because with the whole book thing, she asked
- 14:10Speaker 5: me something about my mom, like how came my mom
- 14:13Speaker 5: doesn't celebrate it or what she tell me about it?
- 14:16Speaker 5: And I told her, my mom is those type of
- 14:17Speaker 5: people who to me directly, she doesn't give me praise.
- 14:21Speaker 5: But if someone were to ask what about your son, immediately,
- 14:25Speaker 5: Oh he's an author. Oh he's still on stage with
- 14:27Speaker 5: all this stuff. So it's part of the healing in
- 14:32Speaker 5: that part is accepting who my mom is and how
- 14:35Speaker 5: she chooses to show her love, which is through that,
- 14:39Speaker 5: which is through edifying me to other people, and kind
- 14:43Speaker 5: of grieving and letting go of the part of what
- 14:45Speaker 5: I want, which is why don't you tell me that stuff?
- 14:48Speaker 5: Right at the end of the day, she's my mom, right,
- 14:51Speaker 5: She's not my life partner. That's where I can go.
- 14:53Speaker 5: I get that fed I can, she can edified me
- 14:56Speaker 5: directly to me, and she does the reason I believe
- 15:00Speaker 5: I am the man that I am missed because of her.
- 15:02Speaker 5: She built this man to.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Be this.
- 15:06Speaker 6: Because I can say something just so you know, it
- 15:10Speaker 6: wasn't like this always, like I never I also didn't
- 15:14Speaker 6: grow up that way, so I neverly had to edify
- 15:17Speaker 6: anybody or like talk good about anybody in our.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Hispanic love affirmation.
- 15:24Speaker 6: Yeah, so in your Hispanic culture is like you talk
- 15:26Speaker 6: bad about each other all the time, Like, oh, you
- 15:28Speaker 6: know what I mean, So you bring that into your relationship.
- 15:32Speaker 6: And when I found out, you know, like you talking
- 15:35Speaker 6: good to me is my love language, I had to
- 15:39Speaker 6: shift that too, like I had to learn and it
- 15:42Speaker 6: took a few years for me to bring myself to
- 15:45Speaker 6: tell him, Hey, good job, Hey, that's awesome. Hey you're
- 15:48Speaker 6: doing a great job. Hey, like, thank you so much
- 15:50Speaker 6: for everything you're doing, Like it wasn't that before, and
- 15:55Speaker 6: that that made him feel like that we didn't care
- 15:58Speaker 6: as much or that we did did you know, like
- 16:01Speaker 6: appreciate what he did until I learned to start doing
- 16:05Speaker 6: that and with practice then.
- 16:10Speaker 7: With practice, yeah, from both that this was something you
- 16:17Speaker 7: wanted to do when you want to do something, you
- 16:19Speaker 7: want to make something work.
- 16:21Speaker 2: You know that it shows in your actions. So that's awesome.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And just on the topic of you know, just kind
- 16:28Speaker 2: of knowing what he needed when when he needs it,
- 16:31Speaker 2: and you know, because you have different communication and stuff
- 16:34Speaker 2: like that. I looked into a little bit of your
- 16:37Speaker 2: stories and just to kind of see where you guys
- 16:40Speaker 2: were rooted, and I came across a story that bre
- 16:45Speaker 2: shared about a broken air conditioner. Re do you mind
- 16:49Speaker 2: sharing just a little bit of that, and we have
- 16:52Speaker 2: a there's there's something that I want the viewers to
- 16:54Speaker 2: hear about that.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Yeah, it was Actually it's funny because of a sudden,
- 17:00Speaker 6: our air conditioners stop working. And we've been living in
- 17:03Speaker 6: this house for a year already and we live a
- 17:07Speaker 6: good life, so we haven't like at a seventy five
- 17:12Speaker 6: right now and it gets cold, you know, so we're
- 17:14Speaker 6: you and it's Crescent Texas like where we live, so
- 17:19Speaker 6: we stay inside.
- 17:19Speaker 3: We're like, oh no, that he is not my.
- 17:24Speaker 6: H So it went out and we were like what
- 17:28Speaker 6: in the world. And my husband was working, you know,
- 17:33Speaker 6: and I had the girls outside in the pool because
- 17:37Speaker 6: I was like, I don't want them to feel like
- 17:38Speaker 6: he did inside, so like they were in the pool
- 17:41Speaker 6: and they were swimming all day, so they had no
- 17:43Speaker 6: idea what was going on. But you as a mother,
- 17:46Speaker 6: like you're like struggling, you know, of like, oh my gosh,
- 17:50Speaker 6: like it's so hot in here, like we don't need
- 17:53Speaker 6: air conditioning, Like it was getting to the point of
- 17:55Speaker 6: like eighty five I think inside, and it was feeling
- 17:58Speaker 6: really hot. And my husband kept telling me throughout the day, Hey,
- 18:03Speaker 6: like let's get a hotel. You go to a hotel,
- 18:05Speaker 6: like you can go to a hotel, And I kept
- 18:08Speaker 6: fighting him on it, and I was like no, no,
- 18:11Speaker 6: like it's fine, like hopefully the guy comes. The guy came.
- 18:14Speaker 6: He can't fix it till tomorrow. And he was like, like,
- 18:20Speaker 6: let's go somewhere, Like I mean, we all the we
- 18:24Speaker 6: can always go to my mother in law's house because
- 18:25Speaker 6: she opens her door no matter what. But growing up,
- 18:29Speaker 6: I had shared on that post that it was hard
- 18:32Speaker 6: for me to sleep at somebody else's house because when
- 18:35Speaker 6: my parents split up, we had to sleep in other
- 18:39Speaker 6: people's homes for a very long time and it made
- 18:42Speaker 6: me very uncomfortable. And you know, now, being a mother
- 18:46Speaker 6: of four kids, I was like I'm not gonna take
- 18:49Speaker 6: my family of six to another home like it just
- 18:51Speaker 6: makes me And without question, he was like, just pack up,
- 18:57Speaker 6: we're gonna He was already looking up hotels. He got
- 19:00Speaker 6: to work, and he was like, we're gonna go, We're
- 19:02Speaker 6: gonna stay. And I was in like survival mode, right,
- 19:07Speaker 6: because that's how I grew up. And I was like
- 19:11Speaker 6: survival mode. And we got to the hotel and got
- 19:15Speaker 6: in the shower in the room was sixty four degrees
- 19:19Speaker 6: and I was like, wow, it's like so nice and fresh,
- 19:21Speaker 6: and the girls were excited. And he came in to
- 19:26Speaker 6: the room and he was like, are you okay? And
- 19:29Speaker 6: I was like no, and then he was like, what's wrong.
- 19:34Speaker 6: So he came and he hugged me, and I just
- 19:36Speaker 6: started crying. And it made me realize that I was
- 19:44Speaker 6: so blessed. And I've known this my whole life, but
- 19:48Speaker 6: I was so blessed to have a partner that now
- 19:51Speaker 6: understands me that he healed that part of me, of
- 19:56Speaker 6: my childhood, and we're like I no longer have to
- 19:59Speaker 6: worry where I'm gonna s or where my kids are
- 20:02Speaker 6: going to stay for the night of the air conditioner
- 20:05Speaker 6: goes out I no longer have to be in survival mode.
- 20:10Speaker 6: And I was crying and he was like, why are
- 20:13Speaker 6: you crying? I was like, I'm just happy. I'm not
- 20:16Speaker 6: said crying. I'm just really happy and really grateful.
- 20:20Speaker 2: And that was really touching to me because you know,
- 20:24Speaker 2: that was a love language of what we'll call service.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Right, you made her life easier. She didn't even have
- 20:30Speaker 4: to ask.
- 20:31Speaker 2: But it went a little bit deeper because one of
- 20:34Speaker 2: the I took this from.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Your story, from your post breath.
- 20:39Speaker 2: One of the things you said was when you have
- 20:41Speaker 2: someone who understands you, sees you, listens to you, and
- 20:45Speaker 2: connects with you deeply, even your past starts to feel lighter.
- 20:51Speaker 2: And I was pretty deep. You know, he was able
- 20:57Speaker 2: to lighten a burden that you didn't even know you
- 20:59Speaker 2: still had, you know, and so that went without saying.
- 21:04Speaker 2: So even with that love language, I thought that that
- 21:07Speaker 2: was very important to share because again that went without saying.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I'm sure Moistest knows your past and those things from
- 21:13Speaker 2: communication and what he did to ease your pain without
- 21:17Speaker 2: you even saying you were in pain. You know, it's
- 21:20Speaker 2: the the initiative to make sure that you don't feel
- 21:24Speaker 2: that stuff that was you go, Moises, Okay, that's why
- 21:29Speaker 2: she married. Also, I wanted to touch on something Moists.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I you know, did a little research on you too,
- 21:39Speaker 2: My man. You guys are a very inspirational couple, very
- 21:44Speaker 2: inspirational couple. Mois's you talked a little bit about there
- 21:48Speaker 2: are three different types of relationships. Can you touch maybe
- 21:52Speaker 2: give a description and quick tips on those things.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Yeah, So I believe there's three types relationships, and I
- 21:59Speaker 5: equated to maybe at three different types of jobs as well.
- 22:02Speaker 5: So there's relationships that you get, there's relationships that you keep,
- 22:06Speaker 5: and there's relationships that you grow. The ones that you
- 22:09Speaker 5: get are the very superficial ones. You're just looking to
- 22:12Speaker 5: get in to get out of it, for something to
- 22:16Speaker 5: get out of it, money, whatever, maybe looks status, all
- 22:21Speaker 5: that stuff, even just to get into the pants. That's
- 22:25Speaker 5: pretty much it. Once you get it, you're like, you're
- 22:27Speaker 5: not interested anymore.
- 22:29Speaker 4: You stop whatever crazy.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Exactly, You stop doing whatever you did to get to
- 22:36Speaker 5: that point. You already got your prize and you're ready
- 22:39Speaker 5: to get out. Those are those types of relationships. They
- 22:43Speaker 5: really they're hardly last. They're either when it stands, they're
- 22:47Speaker 5: very short period dating and it's like, okay, well we
- 22:51Speaker 5: got our feeling to depart. The second type is the
- 22:56Speaker 5: relationships that you keep. The relationships they keep a lot
- 23:00Speaker 5: of the time is maybe you have kids, maybe you
- 23:03Speaker 5: started forming a life together, but there's really no love,
- 23:06Speaker 5: there's no connection. It's more of a roommate agreement of like,
- 23:10Speaker 5: we're here together, we have kids. We're staying together because
- 23:13Speaker 5: of the kids, so that we don't disrupt their lives
- 23:16Speaker 5: and traumatize them even more. And then once the finding
- 23:19Speaker 5: finding the kids are old enough, then it's like, okay,
- 23:21Speaker 5: well we're divorcing. I'm not happys like that. There's really
- 23:24Speaker 5: no connection again, you're just there because at that point
- 23:27Speaker 5: it's just it's just a business agreement that it's it
- 23:32Speaker 5: makes sense for us to stay together instead of disrupting
- 23:34Speaker 5: each other's lives. There's there's not the relationship. The relationship
- 23:38Speaker 5: that you grow. Those are the where you get better
- 23:41Speaker 5: with time. They actually flourish, they are fruitful. It's not
- 23:46Speaker 5: just we're together for the kids. It's not just together
- 23:49Speaker 5: because we like what it's in each other's pants. It's
- 23:53Speaker 5: we love each other, we want to grow together, we
- 23:56Speaker 5: want to be the best version of each other and
- 23:57Speaker 5: want to help each other achieve that, and I guess
- 24:01Speaker 5: for people who might have trouble kind of tying that together.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Relating that to jobs, there's jobs that you line in
- 24:07Speaker 5: your resume just to get in right because of the pay,
- 24:10Speaker 5: because someone things like that, right. The jobs that you keep,
- 24:14Speaker 5: you're not happy, but the pay is good, the benefits
- 24:17Speaker 5: are good. Maybe you're going to something medical, so it's there,
- 24:20Speaker 5: so you know what else D realm even though total
- 24:23Speaker 5: like my boss and I like my co workers. I'm
- 24:25Speaker 5: just gonna clock in and clock out and that's pretty
- 24:27Speaker 5: much it. And then there's jobs that you grow right
- 24:29Speaker 5: where you want to be in there, you want to
- 24:31Speaker 5: continue moving up the ladder of the corporate ladder because
- 24:34Speaker 5: you see you where you're going, you're headed, and you're
- 24:37Speaker 5: investing it because the company is investing back to you
- 24:39Speaker 5: and your growth. So yeah, that's what I mean about
- 24:43Speaker 5: the three types of relationships.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Well, I learned something this evening, something that I already know,
- 24:51Speaker 2: but just putting it in persons, we know what kind
- 24:55Speaker 2: of relationships we should be going for. So I don't
- 24:59Speaker 2: even have to ask one of those you feel are
- 25:01Speaker 2: the most beneficial. I see you guys are growing and flourishing,
- 25:07Speaker 2: So that's awesome. And so I wanted to touch on
- 25:12Speaker 2: a little bit of something. And even when with you
- 25:14Speaker 2: talking about the relationships that grow, most relationships are anything
- 25:22Speaker 2: that grow, you have to invest in, right, there's investments.
- 25:27Speaker 2: So I watched a little bit of one of your
- 25:30Speaker 2: podcasts and you talked about investments and and and how
- 25:35Speaker 2: you invest in things.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Can you elaborate a little bit on that as well?
- 25:39Speaker 5: Yeah, our mindset is the number one thing we heavily
- 25:43Speaker 5: invest time money into is our relationship. We built our
- 25:48Speaker 5: life around our relationship and that aspect, that's like whenever
- 25:52Speaker 5: I'm in job or some time out.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry, and I didn't want to interrupt something that
- 25:58Speaker 2: you know, if I can put it on the screen.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Build our life around our relationship, not built your relationship
- 26:07Speaker 2: around the life you were living what you were used
- 26:09Speaker 2: to Okay, I'm sorry.
- 26:11Speaker 5: No, And that's key, right, because we grew up being
- 26:14Speaker 5: told you go to college, we got a good education
- 26:17Speaker 5: to get a good job, right, it's not. You need
- 26:20Speaker 5: to learn how to build relationships so that you can
- 26:22Speaker 5: be there for your life life partner so they can
- 26:24Speaker 5: support you through the college whatever job, lack of job,
- 26:27Speaker 5: so and so forth, and yeah, we learned that the
- 26:31Speaker 5: hard way as well. But as soon as we learned it,
- 26:32Speaker 5: we were like, hey, it's us us right here. And yeah,
- 26:36Speaker 5: I've told my wife it doesn't matter if we go broke,
- 26:39Speaker 5: as long as we invest into our relationship and it
- 26:41Speaker 5: build our relationship. I'm more than willing to go ahead
- 26:44Speaker 5: and invest into that as much as much as we need,
- 26:48Speaker 5: as much as we can.
- 26:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, like literally our whole life now, it's
- 26:53Speaker 6: the well we've designed it. So like even his job,
- 26:56Speaker 6: you know, homeschooling the kids, we designed that, like me
- 27:00Speaker 6: saying that being a stay at home mom. We decided that,
- 27:02Speaker 6: like we let go of the superficial things that are
- 27:06Speaker 6: in our life. Like we don't even have a second car.
- 27:09Speaker 6: We have one car because we're like like if we
- 27:12Speaker 6: get a second car, I'm gonna have to get a job.
- 27:14Speaker 6: So we're like, no, there's no way, absolutely not, like
- 27:17Speaker 6: we can do it with one. Like we don't need
- 27:19Speaker 6: that kind of that kind of comfort because we want
- 27:24Speaker 6: is what we invest in. Right, So, like like he said, like,
- 27:27Speaker 6: if we go brokens, because we invested in a relationship
- 27:30Speaker 6: the most.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I get that.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And then I mean with you supporting each other where
- 27:35Speaker 2: you can see if one needs the car, then they
- 27:37Speaker 2: use it, the other one drops off and that's teamwork, right,
- 27:41Speaker 2: nobody gets upset you didn't pick me up on time.
- 27:43Speaker 2: We've communicated and coordinated what needs to happen and.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Relationship, I mean even with business, like I'm sorry, but
- 27:54Speaker 6: like you have no idea. This man is a business
- 27:57Speaker 6: man and he's done so many businesses. And if I
- 28:01Speaker 6: think if we hadn't, like if we hadn't invested in
- 28:04Speaker 6: our relationship so much, like somebody else would have left
- 28:07Speaker 6: them because it's like business after business, and I'm like, hey, like,
- 28:13Speaker 6: as long as our relationship is first, I'll support you
- 28:17Speaker 6: whatever you want, Like it doesn't.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Matter that that's important.
- 28:22Speaker 2: When you consider who somebody is in your life and
- 28:25Speaker 2: they consider who you are and actually value that stuff
- 28:29Speaker 2: that actually works. And even in that Mooses, I took
- 28:32Speaker 2: a quote from you where you said, before you you know,
- 28:38Speaker 2: go to invest anything you think about will this next
- 28:42Speaker 2: decision affect my relationship? And I thought that that was
- 28:46Speaker 2: very key because you didn't ask will it affect your job?
- 28:49Speaker 2: Will it affect your bank account? You know what you
- 28:51Speaker 2: want to know is the next make will it affect
- 28:55Speaker 2: your relationship?
- 28:57Speaker 3: Right?
- 28:57Speaker 4: And that means that you have consult to your wife enough.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You have talked to her enough, you've studied and understood
- 29:04Speaker 2: the dynamics of your relationship enough to you know that
- 29:08Speaker 2: is your first thought. That, as you said, this is
- 29:10Speaker 2: our foundation that we've built our life around our relationship.
- 29:13Speaker 2: So therefore if something goes wrong and a lot could
- 29:16Speaker 2: break apart. Right, But let me ask you this question.
- 29:19Speaker 2: So I had a top conversation with one of my
- 29:21Speaker 2: friends some years back, and I was talking about one
- 29:25Speaker 2: of my fieled relationships, and his advice to me was, well,
- 29:29Speaker 2: you got to consider it like this. In any investment,
- 29:33Speaker 2: there's a fifty to fifty chance of you not getting
- 29:36Speaker 2: your return back. You know, you just you invest, but
- 29:39Speaker 2: that doesn't mean you'll get a return back. Now, how
- 29:43Speaker 2: do you feel about that? Because I, you know, I
- 29:45Speaker 2: have my thoughts about fifty to fifty and all that.
- 29:48Speaker 2: But again, how much you put in is how much
- 29:52Speaker 2: you should get back, right, But that does in all investments.
- 29:55Speaker 2: How do you feel about that? As far as how
- 29:57Speaker 2: much you invest in your relationship? Do you see your turn?
- 30:00Speaker 2: Do you see a reciprocate. I know that there's some
- 30:02Speaker 2: things that you have to work on, But how do
- 30:04Speaker 2: you feel about investing your all in your relationship?
- 30:07Speaker 4: How has that worked.
- 30:10Speaker 5: For us? Magnificent. It's one of those things where in
- 30:15Speaker 5: a relationship, if you can't invest one hundred percent of
- 30:18Speaker 5: what you can you if you if you do, if
- 30:21Speaker 5: you go that route, you may get fifty percent. If
- 30:24Speaker 5: you go anything below that, then your chances of getting
- 30:27Speaker 5: even fifty percent diminished, you may get zero. Because when
- 30:31Speaker 5: it comes to a relationship, you invest one hundred percent
- 30:34Speaker 5: of what you can.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Sometimes it's me who can invest more than her. Sometimes
- 30:39Speaker 5: it's her that can invest more than I can, depending
- 30:41Speaker 5: on what circumstances we are currently going through with her
- 30:45Speaker 5: with homeschooling and you stay home mom and taking care
- 30:48Speaker 5: of three little girls, and me with work and the
- 30:52Speaker 5: book and and things like that. However, what we've seen
- 30:57Speaker 5: is as long as we keep that one investment intact
- 31:00Speaker 5: above everything else, we always consider each other. We always
- 31:04Speaker 5: tell each other, hey, how is this going to affect us?
- 31:07Speaker 5: I'm thinking of doing this, I'm thinking of doing that,
- 31:09Speaker 5: And we continue to invest in each other. We completely
- 31:14Speaker 5: invest everything. Really, we put a lot of relationships aside,
- 31:18Speaker 5: and this may trigger some people, but even the relationship
- 31:21Speaker 5: with our kiddos, they have to known and that come first,
- 31:26Speaker 5: because if we're not here, we're not here, then believe
- 31:29Speaker 5: me that relationship that we have with our kiddos is broken.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you're just trying to keep the relationship right exactly.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Tonight's exactly. It's the way that I see it is
- 31:43Speaker 5: I'm a king and choose a queen, right, and we
- 31:45Speaker 5: are putting our kingdom. Yeah, and what's the best way
- 31:52Speaker 5: for the for the king to protect is to make
- 31:54Speaker 5: sure that the king and queen are together, right, that
- 31:58Speaker 5: we are seeing not by the people that are in
- 32:01Speaker 5: our care, which is our family right in our village,
- 32:03Speaker 5: that we are cohesive, that we're together, that we're communicating,
- 32:06Speaker 5: that nothing is going to break us apart, no matter
- 32:09Speaker 5: how hard they tried, because we're solid and.
- 32:12Speaker 4: You're running your kingdom. Makes that a unanimous decision.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 32:17Speaker 2: So that's that's I believe that's how it's supposed to go.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Trump take note, Jaz Is there anything I mean? I
- 32:25Speaker 2: could go all day again. I have other things and
- 32:27Speaker 2: they keep saying stuff that just sparks, But I don't
- 32:29Speaker 2: want to run out of time.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Jesse, I know you had anything, please.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Oh no, I mean all of my questions have really
- 32:36Speaker 3: been answered, which is the point of this discussion, Like
- 32:39Speaker 3: I had some, but no, they've answered everything. It's I
- 32:43Speaker 3: agree with everything that they have said, and they are
- 32:46Speaker 3: definitely uh a relationship that I am striving to be
- 32:51Speaker 3: to be like when I grow up.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Okay, the moments that came through from Carlene and she
- 33:00Speaker 2: says God first, and I wanted to go ahead and
- 33:03Speaker 2: draw that because moistis that was one of the things
- 33:05Speaker 2: you did say that I didn't point that out, but
- 33:07Speaker 2: let's not forget God.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Let's not do forget that.
- 33:10Speaker 2: When you said, you know, it's very important to invest
- 33:13Speaker 2: and have your relationship with your maiden stuff, one of
- 33:16Speaker 2: the things you pointed out was well first and foremost God.
- 33:19Speaker 4: First, your relationship with God first. So you definitely did
- 33:22Speaker 4: say that.
- 33:23Speaker 2: So I want to make that a point that you know,
- 33:25Speaker 2: God does have to be the head of everything for
- 33:28Speaker 2: anything to work, right, So if I can.
- 33:31Speaker 6: Say something like I feel like that's what really helped
- 33:34Speaker 6: me be more submissive to my husband, that I knew
- 33:39Speaker 6: that he was being led by God, that his relationship
- 33:45Speaker 6: with God is huge, it's beautiful, and that if anything
- 33:51Speaker 6: like being led by God. So God leads me all
- 33:56Speaker 6: the time. So I'm like, you know, I understand, I
- 34:00Speaker 6: trust and and I let him do his thing. And
- 34:03Speaker 6: I'm like, as long as you're being led by God,
- 34:06Speaker 6: I will submit to you to the fullest. And I
- 34:10Speaker 6: know that triggers a lot of women. But when your
- 34:13Speaker 6: man truly like you will see it, when you can
- 34:16Speaker 6: truly see him, be in it, at peace and this
- 34:19Speaker 6: beautiful relationship with God, like you you feel, and there's
- 34:25Speaker 6: no need for you to bring out your the the
- 34:28Speaker 6: masculine side of you because now your man is yeah,
- 34:31Speaker 6: like now your man is.
- 34:32Speaker 5: Taking care of that yes ship, and that crowd is earned.
- 34:38Speaker 5: That's what's one thing that I told the guys that
- 34:40Speaker 5: that that crown of king that is earned.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Man.
- 34:44Speaker 5: It's not something that is just a given that because
- 34:46Speaker 5: he says in the Bible, wife the men too, husbands,
- 34:50Speaker 5: you earn it.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Well. A lot of.
- 34:53Speaker 2: People feel the as of some things, you know, like
- 34:57Speaker 2: the and they're just supposed to inherit.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Some royal I mean, we have we have in our bloodline.
- 35:04Speaker 2: But you know, faith without works is dead so we
- 35:08Speaker 2: still have to do our parts. So yeah, I just
- 35:11Speaker 2: I really appreciate you guys sharing all those things. I
- 35:14Speaker 2: see that we're hitting more so I don't want anything
- 35:17Speaker 2: to get cut off. But is there any type of
- 35:20Speaker 2: closing message you like to give our folks in just
- 35:24Speaker 2: learning love language, receiving it, giving it, how to stay together?
- 35:28Speaker 2: Can you give us anything before we get all into
- 35:30Speaker 2: your contact information?
- 35:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 35:32Speaker 5: Of course. I think the number one tip that we
- 35:34Speaker 5: always continue to get people is your marriage has to win.
- 35:38Speaker 5: No matter what, your marriage has to win, not you
- 35:41Speaker 5: as a spouse or not not your partner, it's your marriage,
- 35:44Speaker 5: meaning that two of you together, not just one or
- 35:48Speaker 5: the other. The jervising you can to make your marriage win.
- 35:52Speaker 4: And there's a king and on a throne to run
- 35:55Speaker 4: a kingdom. Yeah yeah, otherwise I might just go getting apartment.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Okay, like okay, bye, If I.
- 36:09Speaker 6: Could just say one little thing when he was when
- 36:12Speaker 6: we were talking about, you know, the fifty to fifty,
- 36:16Speaker 6: just remember that there's going to be days where you
- 36:19Speaker 6: can only give twenty percent and your spells will have
- 36:25Speaker 6: to give the sixty. But it's the communication of like,
- 36:28Speaker 6: hey babe, I've only got like thirty percent of me
- 36:31Speaker 6: right now? Are you able to handle the rest instead
- 36:35Speaker 6: of just the expectation of like he sees me that
- 36:38Speaker 6: I'm overwhelmed, he sees it, I'm like screaming and yelling
- 36:41Speaker 6: at It's like can you handle it?
- 36:44Speaker 4: No? Like can you speak to me in some service.
- 36:48Speaker 6: It's like it's coming in and saying, hey, I'm at
- 36:51Speaker 6: this level. Are you able to take caress? And then
- 36:55Speaker 6: I mean mine does it all the time. Like he
- 36:58Speaker 6: we've connected so much, said I don't even have to
- 37:01Speaker 6: ask anymore, honestly the right. But it took years of
- 37:05Speaker 6: connection and communication, so don't expect them to just do it.
- 37:10Speaker 6: Like it's a lot of talking to each other and
- 37:14Speaker 6: giving each other the space be able to connect.
- 37:18Speaker 3: And communicating that though, one thing.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I keep hearing that you guys, is that you're communicating.
- 37:24Speaker 2: In that space of communicating, you know, there is something
- 37:27Speaker 2: called vulnerability because.
- 37:29Speaker 4: You have to.
- 37:30Speaker 2: And that's why him being such a safe space for
- 37:32Speaker 2: you allowing you to be vulnerable, and vice versa apparently
- 37:35Speaker 2: for him being vulnerable. You know, it takes vulnerability to
- 37:39Speaker 2: tell somebody that you need them to do something instead
- 37:42Speaker 2: of you know, staying in your prideful mind and saying
- 37:45Speaker 2: they see me.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Struggling, like why should I have to ask?
- 37:47Speaker 6: Right?
- 37:48Speaker 2: But sometimes you do because there's that ratio that I
- 37:52Speaker 2: can only give ad and I'm glad that you brought
- 37:55Speaker 2: that up. I can't really discuss it, but because we're
- 37:57Speaker 2: running out of time. But there was a discussion about
- 38:00Speaker 2: eighty twenty, right, if you can't give one hundred percent,
- 38:02Speaker 2: is that okay? And the moral of that discussion was
- 38:05Speaker 2: some people put that twenty part of whatever parts of
- 38:08Speaker 2: twenty percent and eighty percent and vice versa. So what
- 38:11Speaker 2: you think you're really getting less of is really given
- 38:14Speaker 2: in a different way seeing that, so you're putting it
- 38:17Speaker 2: in the twenty percent and saying you're not getting that,
- 38:19Speaker 2: you know, or vice versa.
- 38:20Speaker 4: However you want to speak it. So you may be
- 38:23Speaker 4: getting eighty and twenty.
- 38:24Speaker 2: But just as you just explained it, you got to
- 38:27Speaker 2: give grace for that, you know, and then you got
- 38:30Speaker 2: to be able to communicate that. But on the flip side,
- 38:33Speaker 2: your partner has to make you feel safe enough to
- 38:35Speaker 2: feel vulnerable enough to say I ain't got it, because
- 38:40Speaker 2: if your partner makes you feel like you're in survival
- 38:42Speaker 2: mode all the time, to just be like, I ain't
- 38:44Speaker 2: got it, but i'll get it, you know, I'll do it.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Streuss to you, which you know ultimately will bring on
- 38:51Speaker 2: stress to your relationship. And now you're secretly mad at
- 38:54Speaker 2: your partner and they have no idea why you threw
- 38:56Speaker 2: a house shoe at them when you said good morning.
- 39:00Speaker 2: You know, but that communication is key, and people got
- 39:03Speaker 2: to learn how to communicate. So definitely effective communication, learning
- 39:08Speaker 2: how to bring that down, but creating a safe space
- 39:11Speaker 2: in your relationship to be able to do so.
- 39:13Speaker 4: And I'm sorry.
- 39:14Speaker 2: You've been been together how long in totality twelve years
- 39:21Speaker 2: and married seven?
- 39:23Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I.
- 39:29Speaker 4: See what I'm talking about.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It's still one car and children later and able to
- 39:34Speaker 2: homeschool and working hard and got.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Some other things going on. So while we're.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Going into that, before I start a whole other conversation,
- 39:45Speaker 2: why don't you tell us your contact information and tell
- 39:47Speaker 2: us some things you got going on with so we
- 39:48Speaker 2: can follow you and follow.

- 40:18Speaker 6: to be airing on Roku in the Prosper TV network.
- 40:23Speaker 6: Yang their book, I mean, and I'm so proud of
- 40:27Speaker 6: my husband because again, like he he can't receive a
- 40:31Speaker 6: lot of stuff, but I just I'm always like, you
- 40:35Speaker 6: are amazing, Like come on, So him and some other
- 40:39Speaker 6: men they did they co author a book called Surrender
- 40:43Speaker 6: to Rice King's Edition, So this is all all guys,
- 40:48Speaker 6: and they told their story of surrender to God.
- 40:51Speaker 4: So it is amazing growing with this relationship.

- 41:17Speaker 2: it right now? But we definitely need to celebrate and
- 41:21Speaker 2: it's a young couple that's growing together in their kingdom. Okay.
- 41:27Speaker 2: And we look forward to seeing just better things and
- 41:30Speaker 2: other things. And Brie, I know that you are an
- 41:32Speaker 2: upcoming speaker, so I look forward to to how many
- 41:35Speaker 2: women you can teach and reach and both of you
- 41:38Speaker 2: just building your kingdom. And I am so honored to
- 41:42Speaker 2: have you both on on my show and as well
- 41:45Speaker 2: as on a show of this topic. I think you
- 41:48Speaker 2: really were able to give some good tips and help
- 41:53Speaker 2: some people understand about singing, giving and those things. And communication,
- 41:57Speaker 2: please communication, learn how to communicate, okay. So and then
- 42:01Speaker 2: you know, think about what type of relationships you're trying
- 42:04Speaker 2: to get, keep and grow.
- 42:06Speaker 4: That's something that you need to identify too.
- 42:08Speaker 2: So also on the receiving end, other people partners, realize
- 42:13Speaker 2: what type of relationship you're in with somebody trying to
- 42:16Speaker 2: just get something, keep something for a reason, or grow
- 42:19Speaker 2: with you. So learn those love languages, the words of
- 42:24Speaker 2: aspas and touch gifts.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Those things.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Learn that if with your partners, see if your partner
- 42:29Speaker 2: is investing in things like that. We've said a lot
- 42:31Speaker 2: of key words on successful relationships. So I hope you
- 42:35Speaker 2: guys enjoyed our show this evening. Bree and Rico, I'm
