A powerful 6.7 magnitude earthquake rattled Peru’s southern Andes, centered deep beneath the earth and felt as far as Lima. Two people were injured while fleeing their homes in Coracora, the provincial capital, while around 22 homes, six health centers, and a school sustained damage across several towns. Rockfalls followed the quake near Coracora, but thankfully no tsunami threat was detected.
