- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Do a listening to building the Broncos with Nick Kendall and Carl Dumbler.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos countries leading trapping, scouting analysts.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hit on over to milehighhuddle.com to sound off on all things Broncos.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: since Eric and I are taking over for at least a little while here.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: And man, you're just looking good, I'm liking them, like what you got going on there.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: I finally had to, I had to trim around the lips here.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was preaching on Sunday and I took a drink of water and water got trapped in my beard and water just shot out everywhere.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: It was not the greatest look.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: I was pretty much as baptizing the crowd is what I was trying to do.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had a go in and I worried the wife because she heard the clippers turn on, but I had one that was sticking out like right here.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: That was probably about like seriously about that long and it was just sticking straight up.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: I could just see it just like sticking there and it was driving me nuts all day.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: So finally, so I was in there messing with it, trying to get to go down and I'm like, all right, I went and isolated and just cut that one off, but she was really worried she came running to the bathroom.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: So she's not shaving enough, I have like no, there's just one hair.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, yeah, I was talking to my kids the other day about about me being clean shaven and I showed him a couple pictures.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: And they all kind of made that face like, oh, don't, don't do that.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Dad, I'm like, thanks.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: My natural look is not not good.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: I need a beard to cover it up.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: But that's all right.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guys, welcome into building the Broncos Nick decided he wanted to go have a little bit of fun tonight.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so that means that we get to have a little bit of fun have an Eric here for a second week in a row on building the broncos as we head towards the draft and you know it thankfully having you on here when we're talking about a subject that you wrote an article that got a little bit of kind of push back I would say and we'll see if we get some push back tonight in the chat.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: But no, it'll be, be fun to see you guys and talk about some possible trading candidates.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: You got to know, Champadon is a wheel in a deal and kind of guy.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: He does not like to sit still.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot imagine him in the the warm room.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably got like a path that's just worn out from him walking circles in that room and driving everybody nuts.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: And they probably have to tell him like, go call other teams,
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: They just put on a little easter egg hunt for him.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like every easter egg he finds is a, there's like a draft pick in it.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: And that's every one he finds it with the draft pick.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he's it allowed to trade kind of thing for him just something to keep him busy and out of there.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I'd say, I'd say my mock draft.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's up on my, I don't know, my latest one.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely has something we wouldn't do in.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's gotten a lot more than just a little pushback.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: No threats like last year when I did one like this, but there's some people that probably got pretty, are pretty close to it.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I mean, it's always fun to jump on in this time of year.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: I can't imagine why Nick wouldn't.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean,
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: This is nothing to do with Nick or anything, but like he elected to go watch some trash instead of doing the show, so he's going to a rocky's game and I'm not a big baseball guy, but I know when you win like 40 games in a season like the Rockies did last year, your trash like your trash can't imagine baseball games are kind of fun to go to.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sorry for any Rocky's fans in here.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: But I apologize more for you being a Rocky's fan and the sense of it's things that you have to cheer for that kind of setup.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's nice when you can cheer for winning teams.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: Then my father's some Rocky's people out there.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so I've got to watch a few championships, which has been really fun to see.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a huge Cardinals fan.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like my wife pretty much tells me, you need to pick just a couple sports.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: because we cannot have you watching sports the entire year.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so, baseball, I check in to see how they're doing.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: you know, just record wise and lately the Cardinals have not been much better than the Rockies it seems like.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so I I definitely don't go in that direction too much.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: I might watch a game or two here and there, but it boils down to watch some MBA with the nuggets because I do like Yokech.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's such a fun player to watch and he just he just plays the game different than most people expect, which is I think why so many struggle to say that he's the best player
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: you know, just being the most athletic guy on the field.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's just kind of him trudging along and all of a sudden, boom, he makes a crazy play.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: So then, you know, football, of course, got to be able to watch that.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: And college, it depends.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: My wife's gotten more relaxed and saying, yeah, go ahead and watch.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: So it's kind of nice.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: My son, if he wants to watch any kind of sports, it's college football.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, there's one day, there was a game on for Hawaii.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: And he watched the entire game for Hawaii.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't know a single player on the team.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: He just got enthralled by watching them.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, one to get to everybody here in the chat real quick.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, we got Papa Bear coming in early saying, good evening, Broncos Country.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go, Beau.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's go, pop and bear.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for the $2 to start us off here for the evening.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, we got Chase Wellner coming in saying happy Tuesday, every one, Jenny Splash with the smile or, I guess, sorry, it's kind of small on my screen.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: I can't tell that the smile, yeah, it's smile at the face.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I just had to check real quick.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: And make sure I wasn't saying something wrong there.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then we got Chase Wellner saying, Boo, Iowa.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Too bad, Nick's not here to fight you on that, I guess.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: But we got Roy as well saying, hey, they're Carl Eric and all of Broncos country A to you as well, we're really good to see.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: And we've got Albert coming in.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you're fully getting in that place of recovery from your surgery.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: And on the way to being home and doing good, but yes, it's the question, hello, y'all.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: What do you guys think of Eli Raredon from Notre Dame?
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: I hear some good things about him.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Eric, is this a tie-in that you like?
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: It is, although I always try to, you know, push back on guys, Nick likes a lot just because I know it agitates him some.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: So now that Nick's not here, I'm not doing a show with Nick.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: I can talk about how much I like Eli Raredin.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's one of those titans in this class that really has the potential to be a true math changer as an inline titan, whereas he offers enough as a blocker and a receiver to where he defences can't.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: kind of trying predict what's going to happen with him on the field.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's one of the reasons why the Broncos offensive was actually more efficient with Adam Troutman than with Evan Ingram.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows who listen to it.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a big.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: I am probably the lowest guy in the world on Adam Troutman.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: But when he was on the field, he offered just enough that defenses couldn't, you know, key and on the ambient on the field.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: What was going to happen?
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think of with Evan Ingram.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: They knew he was going to block.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: So they knew what was coming his way.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I really like reared in from that.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: The medical is he had two ACL entries within like 10 months of each or like December 22 and the Noctober 23 or something like that or 21 and 22.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: So within about 10 or 11 months of each other that have to be checked out.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: But he's looked good.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't have a whole lot of experience as a result of that.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: And when you watch him, you can still see he's trying to put the pieces together.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: But I think as a rookie, he's got a really big catch radius as rookie.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: He can make a big impact working out of the slot.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: Indicationally in line in passing situations, especially in the red zone.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: And you can sit there and really develop that blocking because there's he has a lot of positive traits there and one of the biggest things and I talk about this a lot Carl is for tight ends.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: If I don't see the desire or the effort as a blocker.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: like even if they're not good at it, if they don't show that effort or desire, I'm all the way out on them because one thing I have learned over my 13 years doing this is, and you know, I've listened to coaches both past and current talk about this as well.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: If they show a willingness to do something, they're more likely to develop in that area than if they don't because they'll kind of listen to it because they want to be better.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: They want to do a better job at it.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, time and time again, I've seen that over my 13 years doing this and it's just one of those kind of rules that I kind of stick to with my scouting process of like, does this guy show effort in this one area or does he not and blocking is the one that it's, you know, raise raise or sticks true to the most right he look at the things what what is coachable technique is coachable effort is not.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you see a guy, like I said, that just kind of out there going through the motions kind of being a body in the way and not really having that want to attitude, it becomes definitely a problem.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think of George Kittle when he was coming out.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't a great receiver for say like we didn't see the whole lot of Iowa because they didn't throw a whole lot or at least they didn't have a quarterback that could throw it a lot.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: which made you want to give him a chance.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then he proved that he could also be a receiving option.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: And so like I said, rather than he's got that one too, he's got the effort behind it.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's just one of those guys that needs a little bit more time.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you're one in Denver, as you said, he's not going to be asked to do a ton.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: He'll have a few packages that they're going to have been there, of course, getting on the field.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's year two, three, that you'd probably see him possibly even become the starter here in Denver.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: And you're right, he's the kind of tied in that you like he can offer a little bit where you don't key the defense to know what's going to happen on the field.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is where, and I hate to speak ill of this man, but Philip Lindsay, we had this conversation on this show a few times.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: I love Philip Lindsay.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: I did.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: But part of the reason that he struggled in the NFL to have a long career is because there were some limitations to his game.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: He was a great runner.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: You could hand off, and that guy could go 50 yards plus for a touchdown.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it was great to see.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: But once teams keep in, hey, Lindsey's in the game.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're not passing.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: It really makes it easy on the defense when they can eliminate 90% of the time, what's going to happen?
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, like I liked him, he just, he needed to work on becoming a better receiver if he was going to have that long career in the NFL.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: And now you're looking at what the Broncos are going through with Evan Ingraham.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason that, as the season went on, they just kept limiting his touches or even his time on the field because they're going, this is stupid.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: We can't do what we want to do with you on the field.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and we'll fill up on the two.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it wasn't just receiving those blocking two.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: I remember doing a film piece on him one time and I highlighted one where he stepped up to meet the guy, which is what you want to see when running back, when I'm running back some past protection.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to be too passive.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: You want to go up and meet them, but it's a balance.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to be too aggressive.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: He got up and met the guy got bulldozed and then the quarterback, I can't remember which one of the many quarterbacks we had during that time frame it was.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then having to escape out of the pocket and enter the throw in the incomplete pass and I highlighted that play.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember getting a lot of pushback because he slowed down the defender like.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: sure by a meaningless amount of time because that defenders just bulldozed him and still got fresh on the quarterback and still ended up like right and that's one of those things where what that is I talk about you know effort and improving effort doesn't guarantee it's going to improve
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: Philip right he showed the effort as a blocker didn't guarantee he would improve though and that desire so he just wasn't able to step up to him part of that was you know the size that he was playing with where that's not an issue with Rardon who's six foot six two hundred and forty five pounds and he has a frame that he can add another ten fifteen pounds on it and still most likely be fine
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: In that case, and one of the guys that I'd like to go back to when it comes to tight ends with this is Virgil Green when he came out speaking of Denver.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: He ended up being that blocking tight end, but he was a terrible blocker coming out, but he showed that effort.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: He was a very athletic guy.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: Far more athletic than Julius Thomas was actually coming out into the NFL.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: But he showed that willingness, he ended up being that black guy never developed as a receiver for two.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like, you take a bet on, you take a bet on the streets.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: Redden's a good athlete.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_02]: I like him a lot.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's one of many tight ends in this class down Bentley out of Utah.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's another one of those.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: He actually has the frame.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's like 250, 260 pounds.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: He has that frame of a tackle.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: or that frame of a blocking tight end just none of the technique you want to see but he shows that effort and that's why you know guys like Michael Trigg and even to an extent Eli Stowers I'm not that high on because they don't show that effort or desires of blocker and come to find out from I think it was Ian report this morning reported that teams are basically looking at Eli Stowers as a wide receiver and not a tight end.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: And that's fitting, Nick and I have talked about a lot.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: He should be treated as a white receiver or not at that end, because that's what he really is.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's in that, as Brad Ford said, Mike Evans typed mold of white receiver.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of where it stowers is.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: So not as high on those two guys, because the lack of a friend is a blocker, but there's a lot of guys in this class that does have that do have that effort like we're doing.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I saw a couple people were talking about that.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to those in just a second.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: You guys try a little coming in saying,
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: good to see as well.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: And he asked the question, Eric, can you please elaborate on F Titans who have not shown a willingness to block why that's a bad trait been on bentotopic in the last couple of chats?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you kind of just answered a little bit there of that that willingness, it just, if you're not willing to do it in college, you're probably not going to be willing to do it in the NFL like that that willingness doesn't change.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's just a, it's just built into a player.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: that that want to to go out there.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think of Bryant when the Brock is drafted in last year.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: He talks about that.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: You block to get the rock.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think is what he said and and just that kind of mentality of I'm going to go out there improve on the best blocking wide receiver on this team and as I do that I'm going to get more snaps I'm going to get more opportunities as an actual receiver to go catch the ball and and it showed throughout the season as he went on more and more he was able to to prove that he was the wide receiver they could trust and and teams would not know is this happening is it not and so yeah like I said that that's the
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: The main thing there, and then we got Trevor coming in saying good evening fellas and Broncos country.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Nope, but Yankee fan, okay, we got him all over the place, it's why, you know, this is
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: As they say, this is not a place, it's a state of being here for my life.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're all over the place, we got people from Australia, Brazil, Germany, coming in, and so we appreciate all of you guys.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, we got Phil coming in with some stars saying, go Rockies, the season is already over.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: Nick must be desperate.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's more, they were pretty much handing out tickets like, please take these, show up to the game because I saw they had one of their worst opening home opening day attendance records.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think they only had 15,000 or something like that show up for their home opening day game.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: So not a great look for the Rockies hopefully.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: That is enough to make the owners go, we cannot just sit back and do nothing and people keep showing up.
- 16:22[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, at least with them.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, good.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say Nick probably went for the hot dog.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: I saw some on this on Facebook.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's like one of the new things that had a bear.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a giant like foot long hot dog that you had can get all the fixing on it.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's probably why Nick went.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: And we got Trevor coming in saying, and this is kind of to your question earlier.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: Or what you said earlier, what do you think of the Broncos chances of looking at drafting Titan Eli Stowers?
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been a popular pick among national media in the
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: I know you said you're not very high on him, but if the Broncos did draft Eli Stowers, are you thinking that that little Jordan Humphrey kind of role?
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think in for him there?
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that's saying it's like, even though I'm not as high on him, I totally get it.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like he is a very athletic tight end.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: More athletic than Kenyan Sideek plays the game.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like he is genuinely a big receiver, and that's what he needs to be looked at as
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: I get why teams like the guy and what he can bring to the table and he's still he's an ascending player too That's another thing that you want to look at with guys He just switched from quarterback to Titan not that long ago and he's gotten better every single year as a Titan So he's an ascending player that teams on a battle.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: I get it But yeah, the the role that you're looking at farm is that little Jordan Humphrey role some blocking out of this lot which
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: You don't see the effort from him consistently, but he can do enough in the slot as a blocker to be effective there.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: The inline stuff, he just got to throw that all out, which makes sense with moving him as to more of a wide receiver, that big slot type.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I'd be, I mean, 62, depending on how the board looks, I'd probably be fine with it, even though he's not one of my guys.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_02]: Again, it's one of those things that I get, but yeah, it's that little Jordan Humphrey role that big slot, using the, you know, the quickness that he has with his routes, doesn't need a little bit of development with his routes and new ones there, and really being able to help utilize to be utilized in the red zone, and basically make Evan Ingram expendable.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like because what Eli Star was brings you even though as a rookie, it's probably a minimum what you've got out of Evan Ingram last year.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm with you there, right?
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're probably keeping Ingram for another year, just contract-wise, it doesn't save you a whole lot to cut them, but.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: you're looking for that replacement of that weapon that you can bring on the field that's gonna be faster than your linebackers, but bigger than the safety's and it can go make an impact that way.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: So if they take them in a second, I get it.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I just have a little bit of trouble seeing that's the kind of tight end that they're looking for right now.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then we got Phil coming in saying, good evening, Carl, Eric and Deacon Scott, would you say linebacker both positions,
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to ask yet.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Is the second too early for the Broncos to use a pick on the offensive line?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a lot of reasons for it.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: And we need to look at what Sean Payton and George Payton have said going back to their postseason pressers, you know, the end of season pressers.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: Gotta look at the draft through a three year window.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Ben Powers is a free agent after this year.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: his contract voids.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think on like February 20th or something like that just few days after this, if I remember correctly, uh, Mike McClunchy, he his contract voids in February, 2028.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: So you got two years left of him.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: Garrett Bolls has an expensive contract that is basically not officially done with, but all the guaranteed money is gone after the 2027 season.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: and then you have Luke Wattenberg which you have this year and you know another 2028 potential move move there quick miners.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's probably the only one that's going to be here within you know the next.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: I shouldn't say the only one right now he is the only one I'm comfortable saying would be here in, you know, for sure in 2028.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: Watt and Bergen bulls are possibly to obviously depends on what happens with their play over the next two years.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I mean, you can look at those guys for it.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: And when you look at it is, do you go you you need the depth.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know a lot of people are really high in Alex Palscheski as that left guard replacement for Ben Powers, but he was right literally one of the worst left guards in the NFL issue that played a above average amount of snaps, it was like 350 plus snaps or 400 plus snaps.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I can't really exactly what it is.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: He was literally the worst one.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Um, in that in terms of just the efficiency when running behind him and things like that, blowing block rate, misblocks, uh, things like that, then he had Mike McGlunchy has really been struggling at right tackle and with the way that they're moving and, you know, the contract stuff, Denver is in a tighter spot with the salary cap after this year.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: And to a point where the rich owners won't necessarily be able to cover up for it.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: They have a lot of guys that are set to be for agents or set to have those contracts be, you know, be looked at.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: one of them being bow next now next still will have 2027 and 2028 before his extension kicks in but when he do an extension all that money has to go into escrow and so the rich owners maybe they're like okay we're gonna do that extension next year.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna get ahead of it.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna put all that money in Esco and that might take away some of those funds that we have for some of these other things so
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: it makes it difficult to work around it.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why you're looking at possibly, you know, moving on from guys who are on those expensive deals, you know, on the defensive line, DJ Jones, Mike McClunchy on the offensive line, Carpools, possibly Luke Wattenberg, things like that, and that's why you need to kind of get those guys in place, Frank Crum, he's looked really good at tackle, but he can't fill both spots.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what Nick Gargile was going to be like after he got hurt last year.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: He seemed to be the guy.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: Had he not gotten hurt, I think Ben Powers would be cut by now.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: And Gargile would have been the guy to step in when he got hurt in season.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, possibly set to take over.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: But you got to see what you have in him first.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: So a guy who could play Garden Tackle.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's what makes the most sense.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: So no, I don't think the second is too early for an offensive lineman.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm with, yeah, I mean, right now,
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: There's not really a position on this team that I'm looking at a second round pick and saying, yep, that guy's going to be a starter on this roster.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: You know, maybe if if somebody gets traded away, which we're going to talk about that here in just a second, then you can maybe talk about it a little bit.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: But you are, you're building for the future right now.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: The rockers are in that perfect spot that every team wants to be in, or all 22 spots on
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: guy that you can feel okay with.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know a troutman at tight end, you're kind of going, please find somebody to upgrade over that tight end spot.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: But beyond that, you can feel pretty good.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: Lineback or singleton's or not.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know what you're getting from them.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's not gonna be the top tier, Fred Warner kind of linebacker play, but it's good enough for this defense with every other piece that's on the defense.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive line, like I said, you're feeling pretty good about the five starters right now.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: but you need that quality back up.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: And as you said, looking to the future of what this team could be.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you can find a tackle that you think can be built as extra, I mean give them a year with them.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Say, hey, let's see what we can do and turn you into an actual starter quality guy, like Frank Crump.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: I remember him, his first year, his rookie year.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember him the preseason?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was bad, bad, bad.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, there was almost, I think it was like a five to seven play set up where he lost.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: five of the seven reps, and it was quick.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was him pretty much leaping up the guy and the guy just swimming underneath him to go make the play.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: So then to see him this year, getting out there and having a few snaps, it wasn't a whole lot of snaps for him, but the few that he did, he actually looked like he knew what he was doing.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: So that's coaching.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's them saying, hey, we can take an athlete and turn them into a football player.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: Turn them into an actual tackle.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, second round I don't think that's too early to start looking that direction and and see what we've got and it has it there's a question here that kind of set up our Our topic for today.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to see if I can find it.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there we are.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: David and I'm glad that you're recovering now from your pneumonia feeling a little bit better.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Good to have you in here this evening.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: He says, hi Carl and Eric, do you think that they will trade away a pick and someone on their team in order to do a free agent.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: So tonight's topic.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: is that of possibly trading away some kind of player for a pick.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: And this is what the understanding of it's a player that the Broncos view as they have value but they're not really a part of the future.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: They're looking at it going, hey, this player's gonna maybe be a free agent next year.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get something now while we can.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I know in your mock draft,
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: and you can speak on this more, but one of those players was Riley Moss.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: And talk about probably the most polarizing player on the entire team, you either love more hate him, you know, he's got his staunch defenders.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's just the ref's fault so that he keeps getting all these penalties.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got those others that are like, this guy's almost costing us games by making these stupid boneheaded plays.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: And probably a truth is a little bit in the middle there.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he can get grabby.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: So some of those penalties were deserved.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I've seen more egregious plays that we're not called than some of the things that he did.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I've also seen plays called the way that they were called for him too.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so he is one of those guys as a number two corner.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: He does have value.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: He is a starter level corner back in the NFL.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: but he's on his final year of his contract and you just use a first-round pick on Baron last year that you would hope that they'd be viewing as a starter and wanting to figure out how do we get this guy on the field, right?
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what the thing is is like in the mock draft, as you mentioned, I had Denver trading away, Riley Moss to get in some additional picks that enabled me to move out of because haven't done so yet, milehattled.com, where if you're on Facebook, it's on the Facebook page, just go find it, check it out, read up on it.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: But the conversation I had was which corner do I go with?
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because I do not think there is any feasible way.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: Denver can justify rolling into the season with Patrick Sutan, Riley Moss, Jacquandic Millen, should A-Baron, and Chris Aventrain all on the roster, because that means that should A-Baron is not seeing the field.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: You are wasting two years of cost control on that rookie contract of a first round pick.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's the biggest thing.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: You got to get him on the field.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's best in the slot.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Jekyll and McMillan would actually be the better one to move on.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: I fully agree that they were right to second round tender him because if you originally in round tender him, some can't just sign it signing of a way, you're not getting anything in return.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: The second round tender opens at the trade.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: But the reason why I went Riley Moss is because what has Vance Joseph and Sean Baton and even George Baton have said about Riley Moss.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: We like him on the boundary.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: We like him as a boundary corner.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_02]: We like his versatility, but we really think he's gonna have success
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: So that pushed me towards Roya Moss on top of the fact of last year of his deal.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a quantum millon on that second year tender, but I think Jay quantum millon is going to be looking at about 12 to 14 million on average for your bases, Roya Moss 20 plus, and that also pushed me towards the trade of Roya Moss.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: But we have Shannon coming in with a hundred dollars super chats and good evening.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think the Bronx are planning on sending another free to after the draft?
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: If so, who?
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, first of all, thank you, Shannon.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: So much, we appreciate that coming off the top rope and again, like you cannot tell you how appreciative of this we are.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: And to answer your question, I think they are, I think they might have like another player or two or even three.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then my name seemed to be set on playing the compensatory pick a little bit where they're going to
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's made first, but sometime after the draft anyways in May, I think that if they've had those conversations with some of these veteran players, guys who've been in the league for eight plus years, like, all right, we don't want to go through OTAs.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to go through many camp.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to go through that early May stuff, sign us later on, and then we won't count the formula and we get that extra time off.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: or any names that you have in mind.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: I've talked about Cam Jordan.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think that there has been a lot that's come out about Cam Jordan.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: Talking about how one of them is that he's told teams reach out to me in May.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: He went and cleared out his locker room in New Orleans because he, in his own words, he made the comment of like, I never know what's going to happen, but I'm probably, I may not be back here.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of suggested he's going out there and the NFL honors.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's talked about a, uh, talked about moving on and he brought up.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: He was asked specifically about Sean Peyton and he's like, I'd love to play for him again.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: There's just a lot there.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's one.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think with how
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: having reportedly been in on him prior.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think he might be another one that's kind of waiting and seeing and there's a couple other guys who that makes sense but I don't know if Denver's actually like in on them there hasn't been any connection made to them like with Cam Jordan or David and Joe.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: Would you would you would you think they'd maybe look for a third running back?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I think I think running back would depend on what happens in the draft more than anything.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if they have their eyes on say, say they have their eyes on my question and they don't they don't take them at 62 for whatever reason, whether it be, you know, they're higher on Eli Stowers and Eli Stowers, there are another player there are on it there or he's gone by then or they don't even have them there they haven't like 108 fourth round range, but it doesn't fault them didn't maybe I could see them doing that or, you know, Jonah Coleman fallen at that same kind of suit, maybe I could say I'm going running back afterwards, but it really depends on what happens in the draft.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: The difference there from defensive line is that they need that veteran presence to balance out with Saviour Jones who only played 33 snaps last year and going from 33 to over 500 snaps is a big jump for a rookie.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: So you want to veteran to kind of ease up that ease that up a little bit and potentially start if Saviour Jones isn't ready to start yet, but have a you know more of a death roll.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, thank you again, Shannon.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: We really appreciate it.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: Huge to see that kind of support.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: You are awesome.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, as Chad wrote in the the background, Shannon is officially in the Hizzy.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: Love you.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Mount Rushmore represent.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: You are definitely on the Mount Rushmore of support of my live huddles.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, thank you so much for that coming in.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: And a great question.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Because, I mean, think about last year, Broncos did this.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: They brought in JK Dobbins last year after the
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: And he'd up in, I still would say it was a good sign.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: I know he got hurt, and it stinks.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: But when Bonax was struggling early in the season, JK Dobbins kept that offense at least being competent.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: At least being able to put up enough to win games, while Bonax figured things out.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now, when JK Dobbins went down, all of a sudden, it all fell on Bonax.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: And thankfully, he wrote the occasion and said, okay, yep, it's all on me.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: and he did great to close out the season.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's just hope that both of them can stay healthy and be good at the same time.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then we can all of a sudden have a top 10 defense and a top 10 offense all at the same time and not have to worry about waiting until 20 seconds left in the game to win it.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I just posted a picture of my wife and I at the Giants game and I was just thinking,
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still in the shock of how that all happened.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I hate to admit this, but I was in that place of pretty much hell in my wife.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: It is hot.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: I am tired of this game sucks because it was 19 to zero at that time.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I leaned in and I told her, I'm like, Brocos don't score on this drive.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think we should probably start thinking about leaving.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_01]: At the Brocos scored and then giant scored and she looked at me, she's like, no, we're not leaving, we're staying.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm forever thankful to my wife that she pretty much said we bought these tickets we're staying and she she's one of those stubborn people that that she stays to the end even if it's not good.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I ended up leaving.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I was at that same point at the Broncos on the score here, they scored in the giants when it's going to like, all right, I can't do this anymore.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: I was feeling faint.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was I was sitting in the directly on the side and I had a heavy shirt on because I grabbed the wrong shirt to pack.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: So I had a heavy sweater type shirt on sitting in the sun coming from what was at that time 50 degrees for me going and sitting in that I wasn't feeling great.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: I was definitely getting dehydrated and I made the choice to get up and leave, you know, I didn't think it, but I don't regret it in the sense of being outside of the stadium and listening to it all.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's something that I won't ever forget.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: There was something really magical about that.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, there was a group of us that were sitting outside that stadium like, oh, like checking up Twitter on all things, trying to find a good video feed because they're kind of stuck for all of us.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: So we couldn't get the, you know, connected the internet to watch it.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: So we were all just there chattering it back.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: And then when we saw their lining up for the, you know, made the play for the game when they feel goal, we turned it all off and we just sat there and listened.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then hearing the roar from it is, I mean, I just talking about it, gave me chills.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I left early and I've gotten a lot of crap for that, but I don't regret it.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: And it led to a very magical moment.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm with you getting back to the conversation here with it is, hopefully Denver can stay healthy or have Dobbins and next day healthy, because man, who knows what would have happened in the Patriots game, and the Super Bowl, even if both of them were healthy,
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: And that's one of those reasons of like they still kind of need that other back, right, because if Dobbins goes down, can you really rely on Harvey McLaughlin and Bade right now to be those top three guys?
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: And no, like I know a lot of people get mad when we talk, be harsh on Harvey, but he wasn't cutting it as a runner.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: He was one of the least effective running backs as a runner last year.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't mean he can't grow from it, but his impact came as a receiver.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: And it is astonishingly to me that he was pointed like 218, 220 pounds last year and then we started to see him be a little bit more physical with the runner and then we started to see some improvements from there that was a little shocking to me, but he could he could potentially grow from there, but he did a lot as a receiver.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, one of the biggest questions that he had, and he also improved as a block or going on.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: And it got to the point where you didn't need Tyler, but they out there, because on third down it was either he's going to drop it.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to be taught or he's going to drop the ball.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to be kept into block.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: And if he, and that's even if he gets targeted, he just wasn't a player that was part of the offense in any capacity.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: He blocked very little on this
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love this comment from Ace Boogie saying, Adrian Petersen straight off the couch is way better than today than Badeigh.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what he's been doing.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: Adrian Petersen seems like one of those guys when he just quit football, gets the dad bot go in and talking about his good old days that play him football kind of guy, but maybe he's the guy that's just powering it out in the gym and making sure kind of like Shannon Sharpe or it's real Davis.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: That man got, he still looks like he could go play three, four more years and he's in his 50s at this point and he's still, I remember walking up to Steve out water, he is much bigger than you think he is.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's six, three something like that and over 200 pounds and he looks like he could really take somebody's head off.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I mean he's the nicest guy too.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's a crazy thing.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: The think of the plan that he is on the field, compared to the guy he is off the field, it's just funny to be able to see those guys that can make that kind of switch.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we got some other talk about Cam Jordan, Shannon coming in and saying, we'd love to see Cam Jordan.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would be a huge signing for the Broncos.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think he had one of the quietest double digit sex seasons in NFL history last year.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think people would realize he had 10 and a half sex last year on, I mean,
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: But still, they were kind of the forgotten team.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's kind of nobody talking about them other than a little bit of the rookie quarterback and him looking like a decent starter out there.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: So if he came here to Denver, you had a 10 and a half sack guy next to Zach Allen and TJ Jones and Roach and all those guys, I think he would love it here in Denver.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I've heard rumors that the chiefs really want him
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: So, if he can't go here, I at least hope that he doesn't go to Kansas City and become a problem for us twice a year, happen to go up against him.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think that would be a problem for sure, but okay, any other players that you're thinking about for trade candidates other than McMillan and Riley Moss?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, you kind of got to flip it over to the off inside of the ball and the other the other log jam that they have and that they created by trading for jail and water.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Why receiver either Marvin Mims who's in the last year was deal this him kind of contract a situation there and or Troy Franklin who was 100% replaced by Jalen model everything Troy Franklin brings to this offense Jalen model does and does so and a lot better better of a way and unlike Marvin Mims he doesn't bring anything on special teams to kind of still bring that value to him.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas with Marvin Mims, yeah, he's in that final year of his contract, and you know, you're probably looking about 10 million on average per year basis for that contract.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know Rashid Shihid got what like 15 million on the average per year basis, but he has a lot more of a weapon on offense than Marvin Mims has proved himself to be so far, maybe that changes the season, but you still kind of got to look at that aspect of it of
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: he still brings that returner ability.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's an all-pro returner twice two years.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: He still brings that value on special teams to make an impact for this team even with Jalen Waterwell.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's like, we got to weigh that out there, contract and special team's value versus cost control and no special team's value that's been essentially replaced and doesn't bring anything blocking.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: Going back to the, we were talking about earlier with the effort, my remains is not a great blocker, but he gives you effort.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: He tries and he's one of those guys that he's not ever gonna be a great blocker because he just doesn't have the size for it.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: But he's gonna do decent enough job of staying in the way and that's kind of what you want.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: but there's been absolutely no consistency there with that development as a blocker and there's sometimes where you'll see that great effort from him and you see him do well to where it's basically he's just sidestepping a somebody to you know go do something else so it just raise a lot of questions so either one of those guys try frankly makes more sense for me but with the contract stuff like with Rythmos the contract stuff with Marvin Mims also
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I wanted to get a couple more questions in here.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: Chase, ask the question, is there any truth to Jordan not wanting to play inside?
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's not playing he wouldn't be playing inside.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_02]: So what this is a nothing gets you chase.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is one bit just very common misconception about Kim Jordan.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's played that four eye five technique role for the Saints pretty much since he was drafted for them.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: There's been a couple years where he hasn't, but that's kind of been his role.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: He's been this bigger guy.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: He plays it like 295.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's what he said at the NFL honors when he was talking about made a joke with Matt Ryan.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_02]: Matt Ryan was like, oh man, he congratulate him for becoming the Falcon G. He's like, yeah, I'm glad that I'm still involved.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to worry about your 280 pounds hitting me.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: It goes 295 or something like that.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: So he plays big, and but he has that facility to be that four eye to seven technique, which is what Denver did with Don Frank and Myers.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: So now asking to play, you know, three tech inside or to zero, like that's just not what he's doing.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: He can do that four eye, which that four eye is just lined up to the inside shoulder of the tackle.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you don't know that what the technical terms are inside shoulder of the tackle kind of in that be gap between the left guard or the guard and the tackle, it's kind of worth it.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then I wanted to get to this from Biggie saying, I don't understand why people want to trade from our secondary when it doesn't make logical sense.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I'll say to that.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: It makes logical sense in a couple of things.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: Roster building.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: And you used a first round pick on a corner back last year.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: And as you said earlier, losing two years of cost
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: So you've got to figure out how in the world do we get this guy on the field.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Second thing is, you're not going to be paying both Riley Moss and McMillan next year.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: You might pay one of them.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're not paying both of them for sure.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so right now being able to get a second, I think in your draft, you had getting a fourth round pick.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Is that right for Riley Moss?
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was like a fourth and a fifth while sending a later a seventh, I think is what it was okay, I think it's like moss in 246 for like one, oh three and one 75 or something something like that so about third round value yeah and you're not even if he does sign a big contract next year.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably at best going to get you a fourth round config back.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting more and you're getting it earlier.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're also being able to have that roster construction now of cheaper contracts, where when you do side bonus, you can still have your roster, be able to keep some of those bigger contracts for longer because you've got that lower part of the roster at lower hits.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's why you're kind of thinking of this of especially a lot of this does boil down to okay do we believe Baron is a starting quality corner back like what we thought when we drafted them.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: They've been able to see him for a year now.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: If they believe that, then it makes one of these guys maybe a little bit expendable.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now yes, you are losing a talent and if somebody gets hurt, somebody's going to come back and be like,
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: But you also can't always think in that way of, well, we have to factor in injuries.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do that for every position.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you gotta take a little bit of risk and see what you can do.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: And last year we saw Sirtain missed four games.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: Brock was did fine.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you still wish you had Sirtain on the field of course.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: But they were able to recover because they had depth in barren and receive from strain as well.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's still here.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's really good depth.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe you use one of those draft picks that you got in the deal for Moss on a quarterback.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you can have the next guy that's developing into the system as well.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: And so it just, unfortunately, you can't hold on to everybody.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: And you got to start figuring out, what can we do early, rather than late?
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: You look at the Patriots.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: What did they do for all those years?
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes they train it away, star players, a year earlier than people would have thought.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: In the hopes that they could replace them and keep their roster in a place of a good cap situation.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know we have the rich as owners in the NFL.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: I lot.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: But there's still a cap situation that they have to factor in.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: That there's still, you can't go too crazy.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, you're going to become like the Saints.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: Wherever you're trying to figure out how in the world do we void a bunch of years to keep ourselves cap compliant.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: And there's one big element that right now that nobody is factoring in when we talk about the rich owners, the new stadium.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to be a lot of money right there.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: And there are some limits with how much money owners can put into the roster side of it.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of why there's a salary cap.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's why you don't see such unbalanced like you do in the individually baseball.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: There's limits on it.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: You can't pay 53 players.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_02]: You can't pay for the most part, two players at a premium position like Conor, top dollar.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: And Riley Moss, I mean, I was looking at some of the contracts the other day last Friday before I went live with Lance.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: And we were talking about that.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: And we were looking at some of these deals.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: A long day Taylor just got like 19 million.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we can all agree for those of us who know a long day Taylor, Riley Moss is probably better than a long day Taylor.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and that was a deal that was just signed just a couple, you know, just last month.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: So 19 plus million on an average per year basis for moss when you have patches or tan.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_02]: already on a big contract.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: When you already have multiple big contracts on that front, when you have multiple free agents impending, including Riley Moss and Jay quantumic millions.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: So now you've got to replace that nickel corner, you have drafted a guy like, if it doesn't make logical sense to you, then you're not thinking, you're not looking at the whole picture I would say.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: And with today Baron on that, if they don't trade one of these corners prior to the
- 47:40[SPEAKER_02]: that is a very negative side about their what they see in jade barren.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: If they keep it to where those three are still there, Moss McMillan and Sertan, I would I wouldn't call barren a bush yet.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: but he would definitely be trending that way.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: And as you said to trading him for a fourth now and a fifth round pick, if you let him walk right now, unless he gets 23, 24, 24 million on average for your basis, you're just getting one of the fourth round pick for him, which is after 32 other picks, whereas what I traded him for was one of the first picks in the fourth round and one of the first picks in the fifth round, which is significantly higher value than that fourth round compact.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: only way you're beaten that is in terms of pure pick was a third round compact, but even then the value of the fourth and fifth is higher.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: And it's actually a higher return of value than what you used to trade in for.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so like I said, you've got to be looking for the here and now, if it was all about 2026.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that's it.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: Then yes, you you keep
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you're thinking, hey, we have to think about the now and the future, sometimes you've got to make some of these tough decisions like this to really build out your entire roster to win now and from now on.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's like with the Vaughan Bailey last year, nobody wanted them to trade a wide receiver, but it was a crowded room, and they needed to move somebody, and they made it crowded by bringing in trend, sure, field, and Pat Bryant, and that is a slightly different conversation because you had a lot more cost control guys there.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: And you got to absolutely amazing deal for Devon Valey because the Saints were just completely desperate for a library of silver help.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: So not quite the same conversation, but the thinking there is the same.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: You have a log jam, and in this case, the contract situation is worse for Denver with two impending for agents.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: And a first-round pick sitting on the bench right now that you need to get out there on the field.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: You can't waste two years of his rookie contract.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: for sure, and same thing with Troy Franklin right now.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it'd be nice to keep him on the roster, but it would be more of an insurance policy than anything else that maybe if one will go down then you're happy that you have Franklin, but you still have Mims and you still have Bryant that that you like on this roster and feel pretty good about them.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: And it wouldn't surprise me if you did trade Franklin if the Broncos did draft a wide receiver.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: to to keep adding to the room as well.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I think as much as we value these players, if you can get something for them, it's worth at least having that conversation.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: And as you said, Valey last year, I would never have guessed the Broncos would get the kind of value they did for him.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then he went to the Saints and had what less than 20 catches and
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: got hurt and missed a missed a good portion of the season.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: It was not a good trade for the Saints.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's just say that.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: And so I get, I know, okay.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: So another one for fourth round pick, you're not going to replace the production on the field that Moss is bringing.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the fourth round pick that you're seeing the value from.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_01]: You're seeing it from the first round pick in Barron.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's the difference here that you're looking at on the year developing and on that is Biggie also said, and I was wanting to address us, he's a Swiss RV knife.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_02]: You can move him to safety, play inside corner outside corner a little bit of line back or if you want to see first of all, you're not playing a mid-inside linebacker period.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: And last year he was in that dime defensive back role.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_02]: And after the season, they made a comment about how they want to get him on the field
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: You can't do that.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: Cornerbacks not a rotational position.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: You have your two boundary corners and then the insert a nickel like that's what it comes down to and so outside of very certain situations barely only played 350 snaps over the course of the season.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: You got to find a way to get them on the field.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: You can't waste it.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: And then Chris A bit of strain.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's a fine depth piece, but you're not looking at him to start.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: They turned him to start last year over Baron, when Sertan went down because, you know, if you move barred to that, well, now you have to have somebody play that dime defensive back role, replacing two players with one injury instead of just replacing one player and keeping the other player in that role, right?
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: So it is a,
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's, again, it's a thing if you have to look at it for the now you have to look at the future and obviously moving on a player from of mosses caliber at Stinks.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: It is kind of unfortunate that when he started wearing those boxy gloves has play actually got worse less penalties, but he's given up more yards and more catches.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: Showing that he just doesn't trust his technique and that was relying on grabbing to keep himself in position a little bit it's unfortunate it's something that can be corrected on but.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_02]: He's played, he's been a starter for two years.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's got one year left on his deal.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of what the value is with him and with trading away and you've got to do something.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to get barren on the field.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot waste two years of that rookie contract, not wouldn't.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Sean Payton and George Payton have talked about the value of rookie contracts.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: You can't waste too many years of it.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: The chiefs, they've been the face of the NFL.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_01]: This is how you build the team.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: and they just traded away their number one corner back.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: Big Duffy, because they had that idea if we're not gonna pay this guy.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: So we might as well get the value we can now.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, their secondary is gonna be hurt not having McDuffy in it.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not having Moss.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if Baron's gonna be able to replace him to the level that he was.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he'll even be better.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, he'd be the unknown piece if we trade Moss.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: And every year, every team has that what if question?
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: What if this player can do this?
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: What if that player can do that?
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: If it's answered, yes, then you can have a really good team.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: For the last couple of years for us, it's been a what if, though, next turns into a good quarterback.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: And thankfully, he's turned into a good quarterback.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos has been successful.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: But this is part of the NFL, is you're just going to not always know exactly how it's going to play out.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you've got to take a few risks.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: and maybe it is that kind of trade to make sure that your first round pick gets on the field.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I, um, no, he didn't.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: No, I want to ask you because who would you prefer between most of McMillan and Mims and Franklin?
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: If they if they
- 54:41[SPEAKER_01]: I would probably rather trade Moss and Franklin would be my two choices.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think my reasoning behind that, McMillan, there's times that I get a little bit frustrated with him because he can take a few too many risks and give up a big play, but he's also a big play corner back for us.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's the guy that can come up with something that others might not come up with.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_01]: Right now on our defense, sometimes we need that.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're very disciplined defense, where we don't give up a whole lot, but there's times where those big plays are missing.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I would hate to lose that.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: Who I do think, sometimes outside corner, you can cover some of that up if they have their struggles.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yes, if you leave them on island, sometimes like the broncos do, you're gonna live by the fire dive by the fire, I guess.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: But you can also have some safeties who help out to that side to make sure that that second year player in Barron can have some help early on.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: So he's not completely thrown in the deep end and said, good luck, kind of thing.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_01]: Franklin, again, it comes down to he doesn't help on special teams a whole lot.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's up and down as a receiver, but he's got that two years of cost control and he took a nicely from rookie year to second year.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think you could get a decent pick for him at this point.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: And right now, as you said earlier, Waddle does everything he does, but at a higher level.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: And so keeping Franklin, it really would just be an insurance policy.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he would almost be bunked back to wide receiver number five,
- 56:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, why don't you see R5, but it'd be helping on special teams.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: And he's not that kind of guy.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's either a wide receiver number two, or it's a struggle to even put them on the roster, in my opinion.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's the position that he is in.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_01]: And there's those kind of guys.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_01]: People who are wanting to bring in Von Miller, get it of just the tradition of him being here and what he means to this franchise, but he would be a backup edge guy.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_01]: Accabedge guys help on special teams.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't help on special teams.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: So it's kind of, how is he going to fit into the numbers here?
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's why I'd be willing to trade Franklin and maybe then go draft a wide receiver that you know can actually go help on special teams.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: And then build into something more as you go on.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's probably why I'd lean towards those two.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: And McMillan, if you do resign them as you said earlier,
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: You can make that contract work and keep barrens or tan and been milling together for the next three, four years and feel good about it.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: My, I'm not necessarily in disagreeing with you.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: I have gone back and forth over a corner for months, over which one, if they trade one, which one, because contract wise, it makes more sense to trade Moss and keep
- 57:57[SPEAKER_02]: But when he look at the player that should a baron is with his sub 30 inch arms, that is so hard to trust playing out on the boundary, he is definitely doesn't quite have that exact frame that you look for for a boundary corner.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_02]: I worry about him playing out there and be in that boundary guy.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_02]: I think he is better in this slide.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I kind of lean towards McMillan.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_02]: But if you go that route, well, then you're basically either need to pay up and pay Moss or find a replacement for what you can this year and in that mock draft, you brought you mentioned earlier about trading away Moss and, you know, draft, you know, barren in there and drafting a guy for it.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: And that's exactly what I did.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was that mindset of like, all right, this year, we roll with certain barren and then make millon on the inside.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_02]: We draft the guy we work on developing him for the boundary after this year, McMillan, we can allow walk if we if the rookie shows enough, but barren inside and then we start that rookie.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of what you have to do to protect yourself if barren can't live on the outside.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas I think it can work inside.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_02]: So it's definitely tough.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_02]: And it is a funny conversation that, you know, with corner back, it's, you know, big cut point of that is the contract, right?
- 59:14[SPEAKER_02]: The contract, the moss, it being up, how much you got to pay them.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: And then for wide receiver, it's like, let's trade away the guy with two years left to cost control and keep the guy that's on that final year of his deal.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of goes a show is,
- 59:26[SPEAKER_02]: that depending on the position and the status of what's around it, it changes.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_02]: Why receiver is a little bit more rotational.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, so if you do pay McMillan, well, you have that on top of the fact that our trade moss, our mims, I mean, too many mnames, but you also are paying mims for the fact of what he does on special teams, not just on offense.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: Whereas Moss, you're paying him just for what he does on defense.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_02]: And you kind of get a little bit more of a value out of McMillan and Baron.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, MIMS, if that's the legal.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess the hard part for me with MIMS.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_01]: He brings something different to the library silver core than than what you have.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's some extra things that you can do with him.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_01]: where he can completely change a game with one play.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_01]: I would hate to lose that ability by a trade, especially in 2026, where you view this team as a possible Superbowl contender.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: And we saw, I hate to bring up this game.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't always have to bring up the bad games.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: The Percy Harvitt against the Broncos.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I remember at halftime,
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_01]: The score wasn't terrible, per se.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Broncos were losing pretty bad, but it was kinda, you could do the math in your head of, okay, they've got this many drives left in the second half, they can make this come back and then I think right at the beginning of the second half, Percy Hartford takes it back for a touchdown.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it was at that point, I'm like, yep, we're done.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the kind of play that can completely change everything in a game and that's what he brings and and then I mean we see some of the clutch catches that he has made through the years I think of the Bengals game where he had a couple big touchdowns you think against the bills is touchdown to get the lead there at the end I mean just those kind of things I would hate to lose that ability.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: without him.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_01]: But guys, it looks like we're pretty much at that time.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: I know we can keep talking, but go ahead.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'd just say one more thing on this.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_02]: Cause again, as I just got done time by Biggie seeing your argument pointing out the flaw in the argument of cornerback and what it's even.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_02]: But as I said, there's a difference between 20 million for a cornerback two that doesn't contribute on special teams anymore.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_02]: First, you tend to 12 million on the high end for a guy that is an all pro returner on special teams.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_02]: So that right there is a big difference you're getting more out of MIMS because of the special things ability than you are out of moss.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: Why that's a little bit different compared to Troy Franklin who is just a depth receiver with waterland play that doesn't offer any special teams up, right?
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_02]: Different argument for the two positions because the two circumstances are different.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_02]: And Biggie also mentioned Deon Berks, he's in Henry plays at Deon Berks hasn't returned a kick, hasn't been me turned any meaningful kicks since 2022 and he was terrible at it.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's not a kick returner.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_02]: He is a slot only guy.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there we go, guys.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate the, we even appreciate disagreements in here.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, it's always fine.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we have a chat among some of us here in May, Jake, and I can tell you, sometimes it gets, it gets heated talking, especially draft prospects.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I really like this guy, and then Eric coming back, are you serious?
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, but I mean, it's in a good spirit, you know, because we respect each other and respect all of you guys coming in here and having these kind of chats with us, appreciate it, you know, just because we're talking about these possible trade candidates doesn't mean the Broncos are going to do it.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: Just means, hey, these are some options out there that the Broncos have.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a nice position to be in that now we're trying to figure out, okay, now we've got too much going on.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now we've got to start figuring out how we,
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_01]: We almost not trade away talent, but figure out how we we plan for the future of this team with the talent that we have now.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's nice to be in a position where you're talking about trading away talent because of how the room looks compared to looking at trading away talent because you don't want to have to pay that talent right that's like we were a few years like we were, you know, just three years ago with Jerry Judy didn't want to pay him the big money so we're trying to trade him for basically whatever Denver did get a little greedy and with what they're asking there and end up taking a lot less so.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it happens sometimes, but I wanted to make sure, let everyone, all of our super chat people here today, a pop bear coming in early.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for that.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_01]: We had to fill a couple of different times with some stars.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, Shannon coming in and turning the screen red for us.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you very much for that huge donation there.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_01]: and appreciate all of you guys in this conversation.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it's just, it's fun.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_01]: We enjoy this kind of back and forth with you guys.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, not everything we think is right.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: I tell you, I was a big backs and lunch fan.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_01]: I was very wrong on that one.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was, I can't remember some of the other ones that I had.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_02]: I was not a fan of, this came up last Friday night.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't a fan of Patches or Tan for Denver at that time.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not that I didn't like the player.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't like him for that.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_02]: Um, wasn't a video next.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_02]: Been a lot of guys that I like that Denver's past on that I've got on to be great.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's been frustrating.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, as well, but you know, it's just as I said on Friday night, we all have our hits.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_02]: We all have remiss the same issue for NFL teams.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_02]: And it's great to think that all the players that Denver's traffic are going to be hits, but in reality, about 33% of them will be.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_02]: So got a factor that into it too, not every player of the draft is going to be hit and there's going to be busts throughout and You know, only the only the coaching staff maybe maybe the coaching staff has already done on Baron and that's why they're not going to they won't trade anybody It'd be early, but sometimes.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, who was it was it.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it was Bill Park Bill parcels, but Oh, who is the one right Brian Billick the one Ravens coach?
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think he was the one who said it's like sometimes just no from the first practice like if they're going to be a good on it, I'll play or not.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe they just know all right, we're going to have a baron and so they keep Moss and McMillan and they're working out a way to pay them both like that very well could be the case there's a lot that we don't know that's going on with the Broncos because we're not in those rooms.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's right, well guys, thank you again for turning into building the Broncos we back again next week course we got.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: with all of his shows, with Dubdive Valley Deep Divers, and of course Broncos for breakfast and Chad and Zach as well coming in.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_01]: So guys, make sure you're tuning in every evening in some of the mornings as well.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_00]: We've got plenty for you, and as always, Bill Broncos.
