- 1:46Speaker 5: You It's hard, but I figured it out.
- 1:50Speaker 3: A lot has changed, right?
- 1:52Speaker 5: It's okay.
- 1:53Speaker 4: My whole mindset and everything is completely different. I have
- 1:57Speaker 4: to keep somebody alive and well and happy. Not only myself,
- 2:02Speaker 4: but a tiny little girl who's looking at me every day.
- 2:05Speaker 5: It's definitely different.
- 2:06Speaker 3: You're her superhero.
- 2:07Speaker 5: Yes, yes.
- 2:09Speaker 2: How is she as a kid to you? What's her
- 2:13Speaker 2: personality like?
- 2:15Speaker 4: She's very, like, independent. Like, she want to do it herself.
- 2:18Speaker 4: She don't want you to help her. Yeah, she don't
- 2:19Speaker 4: want me to help her. Like, she's just like, I
- 2:21Speaker 4: got it. And she's very, like, to herself. So she
- 2:24Speaker 4: has her room. She has her toys.
- 2:26Speaker 2: She can play by herself.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Yeah, she plays by herself. But she loves kids, too.
- 2:29Speaker 4: So when she sees kids, she's like, oh, hey.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Okay, yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 4: But it's like when she get around too many people,
- 2:35Speaker 4: sometimes she's like, just take me to my room.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I just want to play by myself.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Yeah, she just want to play by herself. That'd be
- 2:41Speaker 4: cool for me because I'm like, shoot, I'm going to
- 2:43Speaker 4: go sit on the couch.
- 2:43Speaker 3: How old is she now?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Two, three?
- 2:45Speaker 5: Yeah, she almost two.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Almost two.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 2: And so it's been almost two years. We kind of
- 2:49Speaker 2: was like, where the hell Kelly at? Yeah. I know
- 2:52Speaker 2: it was randomly one day we talked about you.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Before our interview, they was super late. Shout out to
- 2:57Speaker 2: you being early.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you definitely was early.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I'm actually hungry. That's the only reason why.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I was like, we might as well, we can go
- 3:05Speaker 4: ahead and knock this.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Sauce off and get some food. I mean, we gonna
- 3:08Speaker 2: go over there with you. We got some good stuff
- 3:10Speaker 2: over there, especially that po' boy, that catfish po' boy.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I put you on. Yeah, you did. I put you on.
- 3:15Speaker 5: We got a catfish po' boy.
- 3:16Speaker 4: It's a seafood.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Oh, okay, okay.
- 3:17Speaker 5: 501 or something like that?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Wait.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Boy, hey, hey, hey.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You go over there, I'm telling you, they got.
- 3:24Speaker 3: What you need. You may get some people.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Like, hey, Kelly, what's up?
- 3:28Speaker 2: But, you know.
- 3:28Speaker 5: I'm just trying to get a little light bite.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:30Speaker 5: A little light bite. You know, I just lost a
- 3:33Speaker 5: lot of weight, so.
- 3:33Speaker 2: But we talked about you. We was like, man, where
- 3:36Speaker 2: the hell Kelly at?
- 3:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Then we looked on the blogs and you said you
- 3:39Speaker 3: was in a relationship and.
- 3:42Speaker 5: Oh, no, no, I'm not. And I'm not.
- 3:44Speaker 4: That was at the beginning. I'm not in a relationship
- 3:46Speaker 4: no more. I'm very much single, very much back into
- 3:49Speaker 4: the music scene. You know, my new single is Girls
- 3:52Speaker 4: Want Boys to Shut the F Up. So it's like
- 3:55Speaker 4: they had to come from somewhere.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Who's going to get into that?
- 4:02Speaker 3: Is there some truth to this?
- 4:03Speaker 5: I would like men to shut up.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Damn, twin.
- 4:06Speaker 4: But it's like, I feel like, no. If it doesn't
- 4:09Speaker 4: apply to you, then it doesn't apply to you.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Copy.
- 4:12Speaker 4: If you're in women's business, then it applies to you.
- 4:14Speaker 4: You know, a man talking about things a woman should
- 4:17Speaker 4: do should probably shut up. Or, you know, if you
- 4:20Speaker 4: want a woman to do certain things for you, but
- 4:22Speaker 4: you're not doing what you need for her, you should
- 4:24Speaker 4: probably shut up.
- 4:26Speaker 5: That's my viewpoint on it.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I agree with that.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I don't agree with a relationship being 50-50. A relationship
- 4:31Speaker 2: is 100-100.
- 4:32Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: You give me 100, I'm going.
- 4:33Speaker 5: To give you 100.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 1: You feel me?
- 4:36Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I go all the way in, you go all.
- 4:39Speaker 3: The way in.
- 4:40Speaker 4: And sometimes it may be 80% for me because, you know,
- 4:43Speaker 4: I'm not my best.
- 4:44Speaker 5: But as long as, you know, we working it out,
- 4:46Speaker 5: you know.
- 4:47Speaker 2: But a great relationship, you repair each other.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 4:49Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? And then you hold each
- 4:50Speaker 2: other accountable, which sometimes is uncomfortable. I know my wife
- 4:54Speaker 2: and I, sometimes we have uncomfortable moments in our marriage.
- 4:57Speaker 2: But I always try to make sure I stop when
- 5:01Speaker 2: the moment's uncomfortable and tell her, hey, look, I'm not.
- 5:04Speaker 2: against you, I love you. I've been in this whole
- 5:08Speaker 2: meditation thing lately where I slow down. I've been kind of,
- 5:11Speaker 2: when we'll argue, or we used to argue because we
- 5:14Speaker 2: won't do it no more, but I would catch myself
- 5:16Speaker 2: and calm the whole moment down. And I realized that
- 5:20Speaker 2: really works. You just calm the moment down. Because she's
- 5:23Speaker 2: kind of feeding off my energy. So if I relax
- 5:27Speaker 2: my energy, her energy is going to relax.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Sounds like a leader.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Sounds like what a man should be doing.
- 5:34Speaker 2: But I'm learning. I had to learn that, though.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? I feel like... And then
- 5:38Speaker 2: I also had to talk to other healed men.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 2: So I feel like, you know, I'm not speaking on
- 5:43Speaker 2: what you had to deal with. I don't know. But
- 5:45Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like, sometimes when you're going through your
- 5:49Speaker 2: healing journey as a man, it's like an epiphany pops up.
- 5:52Speaker 2: You be like, oh, she's not my enemy.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 2: We're in this together. She's just seeing it differently than.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I see it.
- 6:00Speaker 5: I think that was.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I'm not a man, so I can't tell you how
- 6:03Speaker 5: to be a man.
- 6:04Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 6:05Speaker 4: But I think that for me, I was trying to
- 6:08Speaker 4: say that I needed that without trying to tell him
- 6:12Speaker 4: how to be a man. It's like, I want you
- 6:14Speaker 4: to lead, but I'm not about to sit here and
- 6:15Speaker 4: break down how I feel like you should be leading.
- 6:19Speaker 4: And that just became a problem for me. It's like,
- 6:21Speaker 4: because it's somebody out here I won't have to explain
- 6:24Speaker 4: this to.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Well, to each his own, too. I feel like maybe, again,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I have never met him, but maybe his timing is
- 6:31Speaker 2: a little different.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's fine.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Just, you know, I'm just in a different space of
- 6:36Speaker 4: growth and, like, trying to be better for my daughter
- 6:39Speaker 4: and for myself so I can be the best, you know,
- 6:42Speaker 4: best version of myself.
- 6:43Speaker 2: But you guys are cordial?
- 6:45Speaker 5: Um, yeah, I guess.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:48Speaker 5: We cool.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Damn, why you say that?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Well, it's early then, right? Because you're newly single.
- 6:52Speaker 5: She is. Yeah, I'm newly single. So, like, eight months.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So, I'm going to pray that things... become cordial and
- 7:02Speaker 2: then you come into a place where you guys can
- 7:04Speaker 2: communicate and it's good you know i'm saying i feel
- 7:07Speaker 2: like sometimes i mean i've had baby mama drama before
- 7:10Speaker 2: so i understand.
- 7:11Speaker 4: It ain't even baby mama i don't do i want
- 7:13Speaker 4: no drama i don't have no drama like that copy
- 7:15Speaker 4: i'm just really focused on myself and like my career
- 7:18Speaker 4: and getting back to where i was you know what
- 7:19Speaker 4: i mean i did the whole like it's cool if
- 7:22Speaker 4: we have a relationship we have a relationship if we
- 7:23Speaker 4: like hey.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:26Speaker 5: That ain't my.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Focus right now.
- 7:27Speaker 3: You focus on that bag.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I'm trying to make sure my daughter's straight, I'm straight,
- 7:31Speaker 4: she healthy, I'm healthy, and that's just that.
- 7:34Speaker 5: You know, whenever he figure that out, he'll figure that out.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He'll figure that out. Now, did your music take a
- 7:40Speaker 1: step back when you did get into a relationship?
- 7:42Speaker 4: Yes, and it definitely did. I'm the type of person who, like,
- 7:48Speaker 4: I'm super giving. Like, I stopped everything to help with him.
- 7:53Speaker 4: You know, like, to make sure that He was good
- 7:56Speaker 4: in his career.
- 7:57Speaker 5: He played sports.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yes. That's very demanding.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I never dated anybody who played football, so I didn't
- 8:07Speaker 4: know how demanding it was.
- 8:08Speaker 2: First of all, professional is very... Having.
- 8:11Speaker 4: To be there all the time. It's no off days.
- 8:14Speaker 4: When you want to be off and you're tired, I
- 8:17Speaker 4: literally have to take care of everything. You could be
- 8:20Speaker 4: in one city right now and then have to move
- 8:22Speaker 4: in two days because and now I'm the one that
- 8:25Speaker 4: has to pick up the house and pack everything and
- 8:28Speaker 4: like move.
- 8:28Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying so it was very like
- 8:31Speaker 5: then I.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Just that was overstimulating too yeah it was.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Fun but then it was like a lot and I
- 8:38Speaker 4: couldn't really focus on myself.
- 8:39Speaker 5: And my career because life was changing you know.
- 8:42Speaker 2: So back back doing some music thank you for coming
- 8:46Speaker 2: back we missed you I'm so happy because it felt
- 8:49Speaker 2: like it was like where's Callie yeah That should be
- 8:52Speaker 2: the name of the project. Where's Callie?
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm here.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Anyway, my bad. So we're glad to see you back
- 9:01Speaker 2: because I know CJ hit us and she was like, yeah, Callie.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I was like, hell yeah, we miss her.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Where's she at?
- 9:05Speaker 2: Tell her to pull up.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yep. So good to see you back.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Okay, so what's your mental state of mind now musically?
- 9:14Speaker 4: I think I'm just trying to figure out what I'm
- 9:19Speaker 4: just having fun. You know, I'm not trying to be
- 9:21Speaker 4: too serious, but I'm serious about it, but I'm not
- 9:24Speaker 4: overly like, oh, I need to drop a sound like
- 9:27Speaker 4: this or I need to say something like this to
- 9:29Speaker 4: create a moment like this. Like, I feel like old
- 9:32Speaker 4: Cali was very like, what is it, flamboyant where you
- 9:35Speaker 4: just like, ah, like, I'm just having fun and I
- 9:38Speaker 4: love music because I love music. You know, that's how I,
- 9:40Speaker 4: that's the mental state I'm in. Like, I remember I
- 9:43Speaker 4: love music. I love music. recording music i love performing
- 9:47Speaker 4: it i love just everything about it so i just
- 9:49Speaker 4: and you got.

- 10:14Speaker 4: At all.
- 10:14Speaker 3: You mad?
- 10:14Speaker 5: Are you mad? You mad. Like, you're angry.
- 10:34Speaker 3: You okay?
- 10:34Speaker 4: I was a little irritated when I made that.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I was.
- 10:38Speaker 4: I was.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Damn.
- 10:39Speaker 3: It's a lot of conviction.
- 10:40Speaker 5: It's not even just on one person.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Like, I feel like social media has, like, I've just
- 10:45Speaker 4: been seeing so much of stuff and, like, no shade
- 10:48Speaker 4: to y'all.
- 10:48Speaker 5: But, man, please just shut up. Please. We just need.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Masculinity and just, like, want to feel like women... You
- 10:58Speaker 4: can't want a woman to be a woman and then
- 10:59Speaker 4: be mad when she's doing woman things.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Women argue.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Women have attitudes. Women want romance. Women ask for shit.
- 11:06Speaker 5: God. Y'all want to date your homeboys. Shit.
- 11:14Speaker 2: To the men who handle business, what would you say?
- 11:16Speaker 5: Where are they at? Where do they hang? Where do
- 11:19Speaker 5: they hang at?
- 11:20Speaker 3: They ain't hanging no more.
- 11:22Speaker 2: They're doing shit.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Where do they be? I'm first flight.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Out of the way. They're out of the way now.
- 11:30Speaker 3: How did you know when it was time to get
- 11:31Speaker 3: back to music?
- 11:34Speaker 5: I feel like it's like an opening right now.
- 11:36Speaker 4: I feel like I haven't heard anything that I was
- 11:38Speaker 4: truly like, oh, my God, I really love this song.
- 11:42Speaker 4: And I have so much music that I'm like, I'm hard. Like,

- 11:49Speaker 4: well put it out if it's me.

- 11:59Speaker 2: Me either. What did y'all mean?
- 12:01Speaker 5: Oh, the song.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I wasn't expecting that.
