A woman in El Paso, Dianne Guadian, pleaded guilty to leading a human smuggling ring that trafficked unaccompanied minors aged five to thirteen across the border—using candy laced with THC to sedate them. Smugglers posed as parents with fake IDs, and one child suffered THC poisoning and was hospitalized. Her partner, Manuel Valenzuela, already received a five-year sentence.
