- 0:10What does the nanny do? OK, so we're done.
- 0:13Goodbye. You shut it off.
- 0:17Do not twist my words. Do not.
- 0:19Make me a victim, sweetie. Just look at the mountain.
- 0:22That's what you saw that day. Just the knife in the kidneys
- 0:27over all these years and the sacrifices that I made to love
- 0:32you. The fifth episode of Season 5.
- 0:52I wonder if that means something
- 0:55clock. Like if you look at it and you
- 0:59If you're listening to this
- 1:00episode, good things are going
- 1:03That's what I think it means. This is a good omen if you are
- 1:06listening to this. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:08Good things are going to come your way.
- 1:10Although based on this episode, you might be like, really, It's
- 1:14not exactly the most feel good
- 1:17through it. Yeah, not necessarily.
- 1:18We both may have shed a tear or two.
- 1:21And I suspect you're going to hear us.
- 1:23Well, you're probably going to
- 1:24So buckle up. Season 5, Episode 5, mourning
- 1:28the loss. So right away from the title,
- 1:31you know it's going to be good.
- 1:34And I was a little thrown off course because we open at
- 1:38Pinnacle Homes, which is the house builders, and they started
- 1:46houses. And I was thinking, oh, we're
- 1:48going to get some good stuff. Because if you've seen the show
- 1:51before, you know that we get some breakdown moments from Meri
- 1:58beautiful heart wrenching get dumb bitch moments.
- 2:02Moments where you want to jump through your TV screen and
- 2:06shaker. 100 yeah. And yet this one, we didn't get
- 2:09a lot of that. And so I thought, oh wow, we're
- 2:11going to go on this journey. We're going to have all of these
- 2:16So we have more to look forward to.
- 2:17All the more reason to subscribe to our podcast so you can hear
- 2:24Meri. Yeah, the title, even alone the
- 2:27mourning, the loss. At first I thought maybe it was
- 2:29like a pun and it was like going to be mourning, like
- 2:32sunshine, something weird. And then I actually looked up at
- 2:39like mourning. Yeah, like sadness.
- 2:40Like I should have been wearing all black right now with the
- 2:43veil. Then I kind of was like, oh,
- 2:44what are they going to be mourning?
- 2:46Like somebody can't do something for their home?
- 2:48Yeah. Yes, this one does jump all
- 2:52around. Very weird.
- 2:53Like I said, we open at Pinnacle Homes and all the wives and Kody
- 3:02dream homes. Christine says this is going to
- 3:06be a fun day. Yeah, well.
- 3:08You know Christine, she's optimistic.
- 3:11This. Is going to be a fun day for you
- 3:17some, you know, things on the table, some granite.
- 3:20What do they call them? Like little swabs?
- 3:25Yeah, little. They're not swatches, but.
- 3:28Samples. Samples, thank you.
- 3:29Little samples of like stone and some other things that are
- 3:33color, maybe some carpet swatches.
- 3:34And Christine makes her decisions in no time.
- 3:37They only show a clip or two of her and she's like, I'll take
- 3:39this one and I'll take that one. And I think even Meri says
- 3:42something like, well, that is brown and black and it's like,
- 3:51out of her decisions. Miss Indecisive, you know.
- 3:54She said something about like the the choices not matching
- 3:57because of the brown and the black and I'm like, just shut
- 4:00your mouth. It's not about you.
- 4:02She's making the choice for herself here.
- 4:04God. Well, Meri is abusive, so we
- 4:07know that Kody wants them to just make a decision, which, you
- 4:15she's like, it's not just me, it's a Robyn too, and points at
- 4:19Robyn and then Robyn pretends to bite at Meri.
- 4:23She went like a little at her, like finger that Meri was using
- 4:29to point. Like she just thinks she's so
- 4:32cute. Oh yeah.
- 4:33Luckily we don't hear a lot from Robyn in this episode, so.
- 4:37Thank God. Really Not like anything I
- 4:39think. I'm literally thinking my lucky
- 4:41star. When they're discussing the
- 4:44budget and going through things kind of high level, we don't
- 4:47dive into a lot of details about budget other than the reminder
- 4:52And at one point later, Christine talks about how if
- 4:55they were different families, the budgets would be different.
- 4:57I don't really get the point of
- 5:00that hypothetical, but whatever.
- 5:01I know it's like, duh, if you like, you'd be spending the
- 5:05portions differently probably, but.
- 5:07And you wouldn't be doing this together because you wouldn't be
- 5:11Meri comments that she is working just as much as
- 5:14everybody else. She's like, this isn't about the
- 5:30we learned throughout the life cycle of the show, probably
- 5:34contributed the most to the family part of maybe not at this
- 5:42in, putting money in, putting money in.
- 5:45So yeah, she has less children, but she is a financial
- 5:49contributor. And it's funny how we waffle on
- 5:51this, right? Because Meri's so annoying.
- 5:53But then realistically, she does deserve to get what she wants to
- 6:00doesn't deserve to get what she wants because of course I'm
- 6:03like, yeah, you're earning the same amount of money.
- 6:06You deserve to be spending the same amount.
- 6:08But it's this whole idea that they're one family unit, and if
- 6:13somebody does have more kids than you, wouldn't you be
- 6:17offering up more like a percentage more of your budget,
- 6:22knowing that they have more needs than you?
- 6:26It's like a selfless act for your family.
- 6:30Fuck the wet BA. Let's like make sure that the
- 6:36kids in Christine's home aren't sleeping in the living room or
- 6:50without or be put in situations where, yeah, like he's sleeping
- 6:54in a family room or something. Like, you know, just it's
- 6:58complicated and Meri doesn't make it easy to take her side.
- 7:13unbecoming. And it's like, use your words,
- 7:18is, you know, she's frustrated like you need a baby talker.
- 7:21I think that the one thing that would be problematic for me is
- 7:30have like a Louis Vuitton bag or let's say Leon got an
- 7:35completely new MacBook and the other kids, they can't even
- 7:39afford to have a computer at all.
- 7:41Or we don't know yet. We haven't seen that.
- 7:46But that would be one thing for me as one of the other moms
- 7:49where I would be like drawing the line, OK, We can't be
- 7:54spoiling one child more than the
- 7:58more of the bread here. I don't know.
- 8:01That would be probably one thing
- 8:04differentiating the children. So.
- 8:06Yeah, agreed. Yeah, at least it's not that
- 8:09from what we know so far. I wouldn't be surprised if
- 8:12there's an element of that happening, but it hasn't been a
- 8:14plot point yet. It hasn't been brought up at all
- 8:17at least, but. Speaking of Meri's work, while
- 8:19they're at the table and she's
- 8:24and whatever she says, I need to
- 8:28It's like, well, that is kind of
- 8:32The if you want more stuff, you got to have more money, at
- 8:34least in America. And you're not from royalty,
- 8:37even though you might think you are so.
- 8:39Though Robyn has that Habsburg
- 8:43And Christine is from polygamist
- 8:46Meri, you're just going to have to work a little harder for
- 8:48that wet box. Christine, we find out, is under
- 8:52budget by 15%. But then she remembers.
- 8:57Oh, no, I want tile in my dining
- 9:01That'll eat that up. Yeah, tile in your dining room.
- 9:06I'm going to have to see this.
- 9:08Well, and it's odd because they're in the desert, so I kind
- 9:11of feel like their homes are either tile or carpet.
- 9:14Like I don't know that there's
- 9:17I think it's just because that's
- 9:20tile. You won't want carpet in the
- 9:22dining room. I can see why she would want it
- 9:24tiled if that's. Well, and is this going to be
- 9:27Truly's room? Is this where Isabel's sleeping?
- 9:31Like we don't know yet. Right.
- 9:33Not sure whose bedroom the dining room is going to be.
- 9:35Maybe it won't be. When she falls off that cot,
- 9:37she's going to skin her knee. It's.
- 9:39Like an hard fall out of that bed.
- 9:43I don't know about tile, but we'll have to see you.
- 9:45I immediately went to like a weird tile wall and I don't know
- 9:50why. In my brain I was thinking like
- 9:53backsplash something weird but
- 9:57It's the floor. It's the floor.
- 9:58Yeah. Yeah, that's funny.
- 10:01Oh boy. So when we come back to Meri, I
- 10:03don't know that we really heard anything from Janelle or Robyn
- 10:07about their choices in this little meeting.
- 10:09No, just that Robyn was having
- 10:13Not as much as Meri, apparently,
- 10:15And she was also hungry. She was trying to, yeah, eat off
- 10:18of Meri's finger, Kody says to
- 10:23Your budget is eaten up on the
- 10:25Yeah, you Max your budget out on
- 10:29that's not going to do. Oh God, which is classic, you
- 10:34know, as as a woman with finer
- 10:38finer things in life. I'm a little delusional so I can
- 10:41identify it with Meri in this,
- 10:44your whole budget on the first
- 10:48thing. So, you know, we're going to
- 10:50have to have some harsh realities coming to Meri.
- 10:53She goes, I know Kody and the way she said it is so cringy and
- 10:59it's like the toddler tantrum again, I know.
- 11:02And she scrunches her face up when she does it too.
- 11:05And it's like you and. If any of them need Botox to
- 11:08stop scrunching their face, it's
- 11:10Her, Yeah. Like you pointed out,
- 11:12embarrassment. All of the lines and the like
- 11:15things she does is not helping
- 11:17No, no. And yeah, just the maxed out
- 11:21expressions that she does like
- 11:26girlfriend get it under control.
- 11:28Yes, yes. Can't with it.
- 11:30Oh it's great. So Kody's first suggestion to
- 11:32marry to help her with her budget is to get rid of the
- 11:36French doors. I'm assuming these are back
- 11:38doors out of the house, like onto a patio or something?
- 11:42I'm not 100% sure, but that's what I'm thinking because her
- 11:46response is I'm not having a sliding door, Kody.
- 11:49That is one thing I said from the very beginning.
- 11:53I will not have a sliding door, Kody.
- 11:55I hate them. I hate sliding doors.
- 11:57Like bitch, what do you have against sliding doors?
- 12:01The things that she chooses to be particular about are
- 12:06sometimes literally hysterical. I have never been in a home, I
- 12:12And I was like, well, this just really sucks like this.
- 12:15Just chaps my ass to see this sliding door right here.
- 12:19For like a multimillion dollar French, you know, Chateau, Yeah,
- 12:26about like a normal suburban home in the desert outside of
- 12:29Vegas. And if I'm being honest,
- 12:31wouldn't a sliding door you can see out into your backyard more?
- 12:38and why would you want that? And Kody says you're not going
- 12:42to have all the kids running in and out of your house, so why
- 12:47does it matter? And she's like I just said from
- 12:50the beginning. So I'm curious if that means in
- 12:53the past when she's had a slider
- 12:57kids would slam? It and bounce back open or
- 13:00something. I could see that.
- 13:01I could see that too, but that's
- 13:04Still doesn't make it's not rational, no.
- 13:07Like when you're over budget and
- 13:09shouldn't have French doors to the backyard.
- 13:11Also in a ticky tacky house that
- 13:15the desert, you're going to have
- 13:17How often it's the fucking desert.
- 13:20Yeah, I would prefer a sliding
- 13:23that I could see my backyard and
- 13:26I don't know. I just think it's a weird thing
- 13:28to put your foot down on, especially if it's going to save
- 13:31you a bunch of money. Like this door versus that one
- 13:35is like a $3000 difference or something crazy.
- 13:38Like duh, that's an easy decision for me.
- 13:41Absolutely. I have no idea why you would
- 13:43ever be hung up on this, but once again, Meri and her
- 13:46particularities, she doesn't seem to be too particular about
- 13:50her face. No, apparently not.
- 13:52Other than that spray tan, she's
- 13:57the potentially going into the race baiting territory here in
- 14:03Meri. I don't know.
- 14:05I don't get it. Not married doing blackface.
- 14:08I mean, Oh. God.
- 14:11Maybe going a little too far there.
- 14:13No one is suggesting that on this podcast.
- 14:16Never, never. When all of the adults are
- 14:19getting ready to leave Pinnacle Homes, Kody tells everyone that
- 14:22Mona says the most important thing to do is to keep their
- 14:26credit in a good place. Don't let that slip.
- 14:28Don't let that slide. Don't miss any bills.
- 14:30Don't change your last name again, Robyn.
- 14:32So I guess Robyn's still pre approved and they're hoping to
- 14:38But after Kody says that Meri has to say the most important
- 14:42thing for me is if I made the right choice on my granite
- 14:45countertops or not I. Still don't know about my
- 14:48Granite County top? Too late, you circled something
- 14:52and move on. And it is not.
- 14:55We have not moved on. Oh, we have not moved on.
- 14:58They're going to be tears. There's going to be heartbreak,
- 15:01drama. I don't know.
- 15:03I've never built a home, but I can.
- 15:05I feel like I can understand the experience of sitting in a room
- 15:09and making choices from these selects.
- 15:10And for some reason she's just, you would think it was like life
- 15:18It's going to get meaty, it's
- 15:20going to get juicy and it's going to get dramatic.
- 15:23Are we talking like she walks in
- 15:26like dies on top of one of her
- 15:31No, but we will get drama when
- 15:33she goes in. Oh yes.
- 15:35Oh yeah. But we have so many more steps
- 15:36before that. My God, bitch, please, I'm ready
- 15:40for this. You know Meri can never be
- 15:41happy. Her face has all the lines to
- 15:43show it. And I can identify.
- 15:46Crickets. We are blessed with a commercial
- 15:51break, and when we come back, the opening is Meri cleaning dog
- 15:55piss out of a rug. Scrub, scrub, scrub on her
- 15:59knees. Now, if you've had a pet, we've
- 16:03all been there. It's not fun.
- 16:05I'm only laughing because it's
- 16:08If it was me, I'd be going, God damn it.
- 16:10Not a gun, you know. Chris knows all too well that my
- 16:14little dog Goose has problems.
- 16:21of them is that he is a teeny tiny little dog.
- 16:24He is an Italian greyhound with toothpick legs that doesn't
- 16:28like to go outside when it's a tad bit nipply out.
- 16:32I'm just watching her clean this
- 16:36big ass dog like the one she has.
- 16:39That's why I was like, EW, yes.
- 16:41Because I had a Boston terrier, Rebel would have his little
- 16:45accidents every once in a while, but it was pretty reasonable.
- 16:48I mean, small dogs, it's much more reasonable.
- 16:50Meri starts talking about her dog Drake, who is a big dog.
- 16:54I do you know what kind of dog he was?
- 16:57He looked like a lab. Yeah, like a golden lab or
- 17:00yellow lab or something. Yellow lab.
- 17:03He's chunky. Chunky.
- 17:04He's had a good life, he's a big dog and he's cute.
- 17:08He looks like a big dopey friendly guy.
- 17:11Like the kids could just run up and jump on him and cuddle in
- 17:14and he wouldn't care. Yeah, he was like Roly Poly and
- 17:17seemed to have a good disposition.
- 17:19Oh yeah. But Meri talks about how Drake
- 17:25that's usually a sign of things to come.
- 17:30Yeah, I thought he pooped on the rug.
- 17:32So I don't know, maybe. He did.
- 17:34I didn't know. I don't know if she told us it
- 17:39automatically my mind went to shit.
- 17:42Shit, sure. Yeah, well, she was doing the
- 17:44scrub the like kind where your shoulders and your Meri was
- 17:47giving it her all. She was going at that carpet.
- 17:50We find out that Drake is 12 years old, which for a larger
- 17:55dog is old. Yeah, while discussing Drake's
- 18:06old, and so he's been around their whole life.
- 18:08Or let's say Drake came into their life when they were three
- 18:10or something. That's still a dog your whole
- 18:12life. So most of these kids only know
- 18:15life with Drake. Yeah, essentially they're having
- 18:22Are we getting to the point where we need to put him down?
- 18:29They're just obviously talking about it.
- 18:32And Leon does not want to put him down.
- 18:36Leon is sad about it. No go, doesn't want to do it.
- 18:42Meri feels like a cold hearted bitch about it.
- 18:46But you made a little comment when we were watching about, oh,
- 18:53Yeah, I'm like, Leon, you want to clean up that piss then or
- 18:56that shit? Because as a mom for it, like
- 19:01that's part of my thing too. Like when my kids are old
- 19:05enough, if they say they want another pet, you know, you got
- 19:11And most kids don't. Like my mom always said that to
- 19:14us whenever we want a new pet. Well, you're going to have to
- 19:17clean the litter box more. You're going to have to clean up
- 19:23Probably not. Probably got yelled at it a lot.
- 19:28couch with their legs crossed,
- 19:33up the shit. Being like, I'm not going to,
- 19:36I'm not OK with putting Drake down.
- 19:38Like, okay, Leon, put on your gloves.
- 19:41Right. Get your cleaning gloves.
- 19:43Get out. That cleaner?
- 19:45Get out. That putt cleaner?
- 19:48Meri and Kody have some back and
- 19:51Of course, you know, there's the
- 19:53It's a big decision on what to
- 19:57their faculties, and everybody
- 20:00It's a thing. Well, Kody doesn't really know
- 20:02what to do because Kody is a farm boy and Kody says that life
- 20:07and death is just part of the process of being on a farm and
- 20:12Kody was exposed to it a lot. So Kody can't understand Leon's
- 20:15point of view, and Kody acknowledges that, which is
- 20:19nice, but Kody just doesn't get it.
- 20:23But also Kody says, well, I don't know what to do.
- 20:26And I think Meri's looking to Kody to say we need to do this.
- 20:31And you know, of course Kody is like.
- 20:33He can't make a decision to save
- 20:35And you, when you are in that position, if someone else is
- 20:39there to say really, I think it's time, then that does help
- 20:43you to make that decision. Like, I've been in that
- 20:45situation where someone's like, it's time, and it's like, Yep,
- 20:50it's time. Yeah.
- 20:51And, you know, Kody's not the first person to grow up on a
- 20:53farm or on a ranch where you have a less emotional reaction
- 20:58to things with animals because
- 21:01growing up. And so I'm not even really mad
- 21:04at Kody for that, but he is annoying because.
- 21:07Yeah. Because he doesn't want to be
- 21:09the bad guy. He.
- 21:09Never wants to be the bad guy.
- 21:12front of Leon this is what we need to do.
- 21:16Kody's letting Meri feel like a cold hearted.
- 21:19Bitch, it's like, put on the pants, Meri.
- 21:21Make a decision, Meri. God.
- 21:24Kody. So Meri wants to call all the
- 21:27kids over and let him know what's going on because her and
- 21:32Kody discuss it. And Kody's way of getting out of
- 21:36officially saying we're going to
- 21:39well, maybe we should take Drake to Utah to put him down on
- 21:44their property from the old house in Lehigh.
- 21:48And Meri is like, well, I think that we need to call all the
- 21:51kids over and let them know and let them say goodbye.
- 21:56Kody, on the other hand, did not
- 21:59Oh my gosh, he's ridiculous. He is like, we should just have
- 22:04them notice one day and say, well, he went to Utah and he
- 22:08didn't come back. He went back to heaven.
- 22:11Oh, he went to heaven, yes. Back to heaven, as if he came
- 22:15from heaven, and now he has returned.
- 22:16Back to heaven. What a classic case of Kody's
- 22:19avoidance. If we're going to be real, not
- 22:21only can he not make decisions, but then rationalizing them,
- 22:25validating them, discussing them
- 22:28he can't. He cannot.
- 22:30He's such a fucking. Pussy, yes, he cannot be
- 22:33accountable for anything. He just doesn't want to look
- 22:35like a bad guy to anybody and he's willing to throw all the
- 22:39wives under the bus for every decision because this is when
- 22:43push comes to shove, this is Meri's dog.
- 22:46So if Drake goes missing and he just disappears.
- 22:52Back to heaven. Back to heaven, then.
- 22:54Meri's going to be the one that's blamed for that, and no
- 22:57one's going to be the wiser. Yeah.
- 22:59Oh, totally. Kody obviously wouldn't fess up
- 23:02to being like, yeah, I'm the one
- 23:05Utah. Right.
- 23:06And so then Meri probably gets
- 23:09killing of Drake. Yeah.
- 23:11When in all reality that's not
- 23:14And fuck Kody for even suggesting it.
- 23:15Yeah, and Meri says that she doesn't just want him to
- 23:19disappear on the kids. She doesn't think that's right.
- 23:21And I agree with her. I agree with her too.
- 23:23I think that's really awful to
- 23:26opportunity to learn about loss.
- 23:28That is one of the things about having a pet is you have to be
- 23:37And the ugly is that their lives are shorter than ours and we
- 23:40need to be there to say goodbye to them.
- 23:43They deserve that as much as the kids deserve a chance to, like,
- 23:47say goodbye. The pet deserves their respect
- 23:50If they're part of your family. Which is like a family member.
- 23:54So the kids do come over. They kind of show everybody
- 23:58coming in and Janelle coming in with her purse.
- 24:00Purse first. Janelle, she's always got a
- 24:02purse with her. It's like, where you going with
- 24:04your purse? Like, oh, just Meri's to see the
- 24:12really get much dialogue from her.
- 24:14It's just all of a sudden they're breaking the news.
- 24:16She's just the one with the camera, taking pictures of Drake
- 24:24Aurora's crying and. Meri's.
- 24:26Upset, and Isabelle's very upset.
- 24:29She's like beside herself. Red in the face, yeah.
- 24:32And I think that's, I think Isabelle's the one where Meri
- 24:35says no. I think you should take a photo
- 24:37with. Yeah, she says that she doesn't
- 24:38want to take a photo with him. And then Meri's like, no, I
- 24:41think you should, like you'd regret not doing it type of
- 24:44thing. Yeah.
- 24:45And then Kody wraps up the scene by letting us know that Meri was
- 24:54Yeah, and for Meri, and for you, if you were a human being.
- 24:57Yeah. Oh, he's such a mess.
- 25:01He is. The next morning, bright and
- 25:05early, we're at Janelle's house. 04:45 AM.
- 25:09We're going to the gym. I wish we just would have had a
- 25:14shot of the and her hitting the alarm.
- 25:16We didn't get that, but we did get her getting ready and there
- 25:19was no sun. I thought it was night time as
- 25:24going to be coming up. Janelle's going to the gym.
- 25:27She says that the early mornings are the only time that she has
- 25:38It's a good way to start the day
- 25:40if your schedule allows for it.
- 25:42That's great. Am I waking up at 4:45 to
- 25:44workout? Fuck no.
- 25:46Fuck no. No.
- 25:47But do I like working out first thing in the day?
- 25:49Yes. I would probably workout the
- 25:52earliest would be like 7:00 AM. I did do a few 7:00 AM workouts
- 25:56when the gym I was going to was literally in the basement of my
- 26:01apartment complex and they had classes there.
- 26:04I am a night person though I liked to go to the late classes.
- 26:11yourself all worked out like tired and then you go home and
- 26:14eat something and shower. Like I liked to end my day with
- 26:18it always. Janelle is a morning person.
- 26:22He brings us up a lot. Yeah.
- 26:23And I'm like, God, 4:45 AM, You know, the crew was pissed that
- 26:27had to come and film with her.
- 26:29They were probably like, God damn it, we got to go film her
- 26:33at the gym. Real early morning and also, I
- 26:35mean, what is she going to work or something she can't work out
- 26:38at 6:45? I mean, 445 is obscene.
- 26:40It's weird, it's weirdly early.
- 26:41I want to know what time she goes to bed.
- 26:44Probably 7 like 7:00 PM one of those people.
- 26:48She's like, I need the blackout curtains literally because the
- 26:55early so I can wake up at 4:45 to go to the gym.
- 26:58Yeah, weird. I'm like, meanwhile my 2 year
- 27:00old goes to bed at 7. She's probably doing the same
- 27:04thing. Yeah, oh boy.
- 27:06Janelle fills us in that, you know, she's a stress eater, she
- 27:10likes to eat, she's an emotional eater.
- 27:13And how when they first started their gym journey back in the
- 27:18day, the polygamist. Oh God, what was that
- 27:21fundamentalist? Fundamental Fitness.
- 27:23That she was 270 lbs when first weighing in with that with Bill,
- 27:34But everyone kind of, I feel like they just kind of dispersed
- 27:41We didn't hear about it. So she said she lost 10 lbs with
- 27:47weight. It took.
- 27:48Months to lose 10 lbs. Yeah.
- 27:50And she said that she started her gym journey nine months ago.
- 27:57six months in, she stopped and
- 28:04and someone that would push her in different ways.
- 28:07Now my brain is filling in the
- 28:12open this gym together and it didn't work out.
- 28:15And maybe they had a slight falling out with Bill or things
- 28:18got awkward with Bill and she felt like she couldn't go back
- 28:21to the gym there. So she just started working out
- 28:24at home, she claims, and it didn't work for her.
- 28:27So now she needs to find a new
- 28:29She did find a new trainer and
- 28:33what happened that she felt she couldn't go back to the gym to
- 28:37meet with Bill. I didn't really think about that
- 28:40during the episode, but that totally makes sense that yeah,
- 28:43they were going to start a business.
- 28:44Didn't pan out. Can't see Bill anymore.
- 28:47Work out at home. Which, come on, Janelle's not
- 28:49going to work out at home. Because isn't he kind of the
- 28:52one, Didn't we hear a little something that he's the one that
- 28:56pulled the plug, that the person
- 29:00that was going to help fund the gym pulled out?
- 29:04There was something that didn't go right.
- 29:06Yeah, something fell through. I suspect that in classic brown
- 29:09fashion, they were probably talking a bigger game than they
- 29:12were ever going to follow through with.
- 29:14And obviously they decided to go
- 29:18because startup costs are so reasonable and Robyn's jewelry
- 29:21designs are so inspirational. So, you know, not starting the
- 29:25gym as a thing. I do suspect that was a hairy
- 29:28situation, kind of like Bill's.
- 29:31Never mind. Well, this is where we meet
- 29:36Sean, and he's been working with her on more of a psychological
- 29:45the psychology behind it and helping her, yeah, fix her.
- 29:51And when she's introducing us to Sean and they're showing us some
- 30:04weight. When talking about Sean, she
- 30:06does volunteer that she has shared her cheats with him.
- 30:10So the psychological work, she's being honest is what she's
- 30:14saying. So she talks about how she
- 30:16cheats when she cheats, all the decisions she makes, blah blah
- 30:21a little less of a meathead. So, you know, I don't know.
- 30:26He seems like he is being kinder to her in a sense maybe or like
- 30:32she shared all of this with him and he knowing all of the times
- 30:39that she feels like she needs to eat more or has binge eating
- 30:43or doing, you know, the bad behaviors and he's being able to
- 30:52this time, like when she's admitting when she's done stuff.
- 31:01being a binge eater. And obviously she is, you know,
- 31:05binge eating probably been like eating out of sadness and not
- 31:09seeing a therapist. And that's a huge thing with
- 31:13eating disorders. It sounds to me like she has
- 31:15disordered eating, maybe not an eating disorder, but she hasn't
- 31:19had a healthy relationship with food.
- 31:22And she brings up that she's noticed her kids have become
- 31:25couch potatoes because the separate backyards of all the
- 31:30families, her kids aren't going out into the yard and playing
- 31:34as much with the other kids. And that's got to be hard to see
- 31:38as a mom. Like Oh my God, my kids are
- 31:40following in my footsteps here.
- 31:43Stuff. Yeah.
- 31:44And that she hopes to join them when the cul-de-sac becomes
- 31:49comes into fruition, that she would be able to be more active
- 31:54with them and being at 270, her goal is to be down to 170 and
- 31:59that's £100 to lose and it's a big goal, she knows that.
- 32:04It's lofty. It's a lot.
- 32:07It's been done. She could do it.
- 32:10It's a lot. Going to the gym even 3-4 days a
- 32:20So I'm curious to see if we notice a difference here.
- 32:24I think I mentioned a few episodes ago that I'd noticed
- 32:27she had gained weight back. And so this is kind of like, Oh
- 32:32yeah, she really had. Because I felt bad even saying
- 32:38And I really hope that she does
- 32:41lose, you know, at least 2030 lbs even.
- 32:45She'd probably feel better, right?
- 32:46Yep, now we cut to Meri's house exterior, Meri's home.
- 32:51Las Vegas. Kody, Meri and Leon are packing
- 32:55up their SUV with Drake with the
- 33:00him up to Utah to see their old vet.
- 33:03Kody found a vet that would be
- 33:06home to see Drake out in the property area.
- 33:13They talk a lot about the county
- 33:18how Kody did not feel safe for
- 33:23Kody says that the County Attorney dropped the charges, so
- 33:26he actually feels like he's able
- 33:29and feels safe doing so. I want to know when they drop
- 33:33the charges. I'm very curious because it was
- 33:35such a big plot point for the longest time and now we're just
- 33:39getting it nonchalantly dropped in here.
- 33:42Yeah. For a visit, it feels like a dog
- 33:45down. Not a very big detail like, Oh
- 33:47yeah, Kody said. It took some coaxing to go back
- 33:50due to his leaving and not really coming to terms with
- 33:53leaving. But it was kind of just
- 33:56mentioned, peppered in there with this like journey back
- 33:59home. Almost like I'm distraught about
- 34:01going home because I hadn't really said goodbye.
- 34:03They dropped the charges and I'm
- 34:05we're going home and blah, blah,
- 34:06Like, okay, all right girl. I can't believe they didn't make
- 34:10a bigger deal about it when they
- 34:13were dropped. Yeah, of like Kody getting
- 34:16something or hearing from a lawyer.
- 34:18Right. It would have been an
- 34:19opportunity for a Brown party or
- 34:23that landfill. Something actually interesting
- 34:25to learn about. Instead of showing them back at
- 34:29the cul-de-sac for the millionth
- 34:32like, guess what, We're not going to be going to prison or
- 34:36something, but. Right.
- 34:37Nevertheless, and we're back at the compound where America was
- 34:45introduced to the Browns in a split level that is really three
- 34:51apartments and one building. Meri says that her sister is
- 34:54currently living in the house,
- 34:57when Leon was wearing the no shirt, bull shirt, bull shirt.
- 35:02Shirt Yeah, Rebecca and Nathan
- 35:06They're living in the house so
- 35:08property which which is lovely.
- 35:09They must still own the property.
- 35:11Yeah. And Rebecca and Nathan are
- 35:14renting there or squatting there.
- 35:16Yeah. Exactly.
- 35:17They don't, you know, they spare us these details.
- 35:19Thank God this is the first time Kody's been back to the home,
- 35:23obviously since they left and we get to see Kody digging Drake's
- 35:29great Oh. Yes.
- 35:32They let us know that their dog alley is buried back in the
- 35:36forest, which is a collection of trees in their backyard.
- 35:39Now, when I was a kid, we would call it a forest.
- 35:42I get why he's calling it a forest.
- 35:43To the kids, it was a forest. To us adults that are watching
- 35:54bury their dog alley there. Kody's talking to the camera
- 35:58outside, near the forest or in the forest or wherever, and he
- 36:06because of all the memories here.
- 36:08My kids played. So yes, this is while he's
- 36:12digging the grave. He's like a.
- 36:14Dumb a dumb. I'm digging.
- 36:17And my kids, they played here. There's lots of memories of the
- 36:22kids that played here. Exactly, honey, you do a great
- 36:30natural. And I want to know who digs like
- 36:34Loosening the soil? Yeah, what the fuck was that?
- 36:37He's being very high ho, high ho.
- 36:39It's like he's being very animated and the cadence of his
- 36:43talking with the hits of the pic.
- 36:46And the hair flying down in the face each time, and him shaking
- 36:49it back out of his face like he does.
- 36:53OK, Kody. And of course he has to stop mid
- 37:05circumstances, we never would have left Utah.
- 37:09OK, Good story, Kody. Yeah, he says he didn't properly
- 37:17Yeah, so, God, that's why it's so emotional.
- 37:20There's something special and nostalgic about this place.
- 37:24Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be in Vegas.
- 37:28I like our homes in Vegas. But Yep, there's something
- 37:32magical in the soil here. Like, have you ever seen Erin
- 37:38Brockovich? There's definitely something
- 37:40special in your soil, Kody. And if anyone's going to be
- 37:44dramatic about digging a hole, it's Coyote.
- 37:47Oh, Kody. It also looks like he's dug a
- 37:51grave or two before because when he's done with that hole, I'm
- 37:54going to give him props. It's actually a really good
- 37:57hole. It's a big hole.
- 37:58It's a deep big hole and it is rectangular shaped.
- 38:01Oh, I don't know how he did that well.
- 38:04He's gifted. He's buried many an animal.
- 38:07When Kody puts on those work gloves, it brings him back to
- 38:11the ranch and his dad's saying dig a hole for that dog bitch.
- 38:18pasture, son. Got to dig another hole for an
- 38:28like cool. Maybe his dad was like one of
- 38:30those people that's like building holes, gives you
- 38:32character. Building holes Building.
- 38:34Digging holes gives you character.
- 38:37I wouldn't be surprised. Yes, his dad was the notorious
- 38:44fall far from that tree. Well, I mean, the movie Holes
- 38:47was a very good movie, but that was part of the thing there too,
- 38:53holes. Is this a horror film?
- 38:57No blasphemy. Well, I've never seen holes make
- 39:01I mean, it's a movie that I mean, you are a little bit older
- 39:07This must. Be I'm going to show you after
- 39:14tells us, As hard as it is, I've already prepared myself for
- 39:19this. And then they're gathered in the
- 39:27To Drake. Drake, I'm trying to harken back
- 39:32That one of the. Family names.
- 39:34And then an unknown vet and then a vet assistant.
- 39:37Rick the vet. Oh, Rick.
- 39:39His name is Rick. Oh, Richard Dick.
- 39:41Yep, and the vet suggests it's more humane to let Drake go
- 39:46because he's in pain. Yeah, he's suffering at this
- 39:49point and it would be more humane.
- 39:51Meri is. I'm getting conflicted again.
- 39:55I'm getting conflicted. Oh, Meri.
- 39:57Kody's like, well, you heard him.
- 39:59At this point, it's better to let him go.
- 40:04And Leon is sobbing. Yeah, I don't blame Leon.
- 40:09I'd be a sobbing too. I'd be a mess.
- 40:12Then they're all doing the whole petting and the touching and the
- 40:19As the drugs are administered. And they show us.
- 40:22Yeah. They show us little Drake, big
- 40:28And like, why are they showing us this?
- 40:30We were both crying and I, I said to Chris, I'm like, why are
- 40:49us saying goodbye, but you guys need to step away.
- 40:51Right. I wouldn't want to be filmed
- 40:54during that and I wouldn't want my pet to be filmed during that
- 40:58either because again, it's a respect thing.
- 41:00They're a family member. To me, that feels like really
- 41:04invasive and kind of just yucky. Like I get the yuck about it.
- 41:09Like there are some things that don't need to be filmed all the
- 41:12way through. We didn't need to see Drake
- 41:14after he'd passed away, like right.
- 41:16Right. A little fucked up business
- 41:19there. Yeah, as far as I'm concerned.
- 41:25down my dog. And yeah, you know, the memories
- 41:33I don't know if I'm going to cry about it in this moment
- 41:36because I did cry when we were watching the show.
- 41:38I had some tears. I wasn't sobbing.
- 41:40Thank God I wasn't pulling a Robyn.
- 41:42But yeah, if you've gone through that, then you know, and it
- 41:49sucks. Yeah, it sucks a lot.
- 41:52And Meri, this is kind of funny, like.
- 41:56But before she goes, well, we already had the kids all say
- 42:01goodbye. Like she mentions it to Rick
- 42:05before he says like, yes, he does agree.
- 42:08Like he's suffering. We should put him down.
- 42:11Oh, OK. She's like, well, we had the
- 42:13kids say goodbye. Like if I bring this dog back
- 42:17home right now, it wouldn't be good.
- 42:19Like, you know, you can see like the wheels in her mind, like,
- 42:23oh, shit. Like I don't want to just put
- 42:26him down to put him down. And I don't want to be like
- 42:29evil, but Oh my God, now I had all these kids say goodbye.
- 42:32If the vet doesn't say that we should say goodbye.
- 42:34This would be fucking awful. What if Dick was like, guess
- 42:37what, he's going to be fine, we just want.
- 42:40To give him these vitamins for his hips that are hurt and he's
- 42:44good, yeah. Just shove a plug in the back
- 42:46and give him these vitamins and you're good to go.
- 42:48Like, Oh no, Oh no, Oh no. I just went through something
- 42:52similar too though where my cat had like a really awful scare
- 42:59and completely looked like fucked up like something was
- 43:04wrong. And I it was on Easter so of
- 43:07course it's like a emergency vet visit on a holiday on a Sunday.
- 43:10My kids are dressed up to go to
- 43:12Easter brunch and I literally made them come and say goodbye
- 43:15to our cat, like thinking that I
- 43:18him back, only to bring him back in this horrible condition.
- 43:23So he's like, he's getting better, but he's still rough.
- 43:27He's 14, he's an old man. So I'm with my 14 year old cat.
- 43:31Just like my kids need to say goodbye to this cat, right?
- 43:35Like, he's 14. I don't know what else I would
- 43:38have done, but it's like, yeah, I bring him back home and I'm
- 43:40like, he's still here, He's still with us.
- 43:42But I just did that to my kids.
- 43:45Yeah, it felt real shitty. But obviously I'd rather I'm a
- 43:54It was like, oh God. Right.
- 43:56Like I think things are already in motion here, right?
- 44:00I'm devastated about it. But they're already in motion,
- 44:04see him, like, you're being cruel or whatever.
- 44:06And you do want the vet's honest opinion, but like, Oh my God.
- 44:10Yeah. Yeah.
- 44:11Oh. Kody says that this entire
- 44:15experience has been closure, the closure that he needed.
- 44:19Yeah, they're emotional on the couch.
- 44:21Meri and Kody talking about the experience, letting Drake go,
- 44:25and then we get footage of them putting Drake in the ground.
- 44:32Luckily it wasn't too detailed. It was from afar, so maybe the
- 44:39Well, they can't really show that.
- 44:41That's morbid. Yeah, it it was.
- 44:44I felt like this was enough. It wasn't as much as when they
- 44:58Beyond that, they're putting him in the ground.
- 45:01The crew's a little ways away. And you can kind of just see
- 45:04Kody, like, lowering him into the ground, putting him in the
- 45:08needed. I didn't even really need that.
- 45:09So thank you.
- 45:10Yeah. And Kody says that it feels like
- 45:13they're actually saying goodbye to Lehigh through this
- 45:15experience that, you know, going
- 45:18It's a thing where he hasn't been back and you know, all the
- 45:22memories and whatever. But this is also like a way for
- 45:25him to say goodbye to Lehigh because he never really did say
- 45:29goodbye. They, well, they did.
- 45:33They need to leave in the middle
- 45:36Fled. Nobody knows that they needed to
- 45:38flee Lehigh, but they did. And so this is Kody's
- 45:44performative way of saying goodbye to their home, to the
- 45:47compound, America's compound. And Meri says we need to create
- 45:52the same experience here in Vegas for the younger kids as
- 45:55the older ones had in Utah. And I agree, that's obviously a
- 46:00stark difference there in the four homes.
- 46:03And this is something that doesn't just happen now because
- 46:05Meri said it Like it's not like all of a sudden now they're
- 46:07going to like really learn their
- 46:10family. But obviously when they talk
- 46:12about the older kids and we get the flashbacks in the previous
- 46:15seasons of them all being little
- 46:18they're in there like trailer home.
- 46:19And it looks a little dumpy. It kind of looks like footage
- 46:22from when I was a kid, you know?
- 46:23And there's all the kids and they're all together and the
- 46:26moms are probably wanting to murder each other, but the kids
- 46:29are like together and having a good time.
- 46:32And the younger kids now today don't have that.
- 46:35They're like in separate homes and get together for events.
- 46:39It's completely different. It's almost like they're being
- 46:49systems work. Yeah, very recently he was
- 46:50telling us that they are siblings and it's like, well,
- 46:53maybe do you have to tell yourself?
- 46:55Because we know, but you're not living like that.
- 46:58Like they are siblings, no doubt, duh.
- 47:01But now it's almost like you're pulling them away from each
- 47:06other. And even just like Janelle
- 47:08saying that her kids are couch potatoes now, sitting on the
- 47:11couch as opposed to running through the backyard with their
- 47:14siblings. Like lifestyles are changing
- 47:17here. People are pulling apart in
- 47:19different ways. The kids are pulling apart
- 47:22because it's not as easy to go and hang with each other.
- 47:25We'll see what they can recreate.
- 47:27And I suspect that for Meri in particular, this experience of
- 47:35her of this. Like, oh, my gosh, we used to be
- 47:40gradually change in life, you can kind of get used to things
- 47:45you're like, Oh my gosh, you take a evaluation and you look
- 47:50So I don't know how real of an awakening it was or if it was
- 47:55just a sound bite moment, but it made sense.
- 47:57I'm very curious. I feel like if I was in the same
- 48:02She has one kid that's old enough that they're
- 48:06self-sufficient. If I was in that position, I'd
- 48:14calling up Christine, calling up Robyn.
- 48:16Hey, can I come over for like an hour tonight and hang out?
- 48:19Or you want some help with dinner tonight and the little
- 48:22kids? I'll be over in 20 minutes.
- 48:24How hard would that be? You know I would.
- 48:27You have to want to. You would have to want to, you'd
- 48:33But if it's not about that and it's about the kids and wanting
- 48:37the kids in your life like she claims and she says, oh, that
- 48:40she wants these extra rooms because these are the kids that
- 48:44she's going to have and maybe they'll want to stay there and
- 48:49those relationships. Doesn't seem like there's a lot
- 48:51of that going. On.
- 48:51No, not at all. Yeah, we don't see Meri every
- 48:54day, but the way that she's talking, I'm guessing that's
- 48:57not. Happening No.
- 48:58She wraps up the episode by telling us it's essential that
- 49:05Well, agreed, Meri, what are you going to do about it?
- 49:08Are you going to do anything about it?
- 49:09I don't know if it's about this time or not that she starts
- 49:13speaking to strangers on the Internet.
- 49:14I don't know, but she's certainly not calling up
- 49:18Janelle, Christine and Robyn to be like, what can I bring over
- 49:23You know, like hello. I feel like I would be bored in
- 49:27my home alone. Like, especially knowing that
- 49:29we're not seeing Kody very often.
- 49:31Yeah, I'd be calling them up. Like hey seriously, you want to
- 49:35watch ATV show? Or what if all of the wives
- 49:38watch the same TV show? Like maybe they're fans of the
- 49:51me to be this family and not even have that or just like
- 49:57dropping by. It's just weird to me that
- 50:00they're supposed to be one family and they don't have that
- 50:04rapport. Well, particularly with Meri and
- 50:10Christine. Yeah, with Robyn, it's like they
- 50:20would be, I guess even in a way, like pushy.
- 50:22You know, that whole thing where it's like how she keeps inviting
- 50:30I think Robyn doesn't really care because Kody's probably
- 50:32spending the most time at her house and so she's totally
- 50:35satiated with everything. Christine is wishing Kody was
- 50:39over more. But when he does come, he
- 50:41doesn't talk to the kids and he just is on his phone and she
- 50:45feels like she's probably just asking him to do things.
- 50:48Yeah, and he's trying to find excuses to come as late as he
- 50:52can and leave as early as he can.
- 50:54And any little mistake she makes is the reason for him to pick it
- 51:01Right. And then you've got Janelle, who
- 51:08really care about how much she sees Kody.
- 51:12Like, she probably thinks it's
- 51:14you know, longing for him. So, you know, and I don't think
- 51:19she's longing for time with her other sister wives either.
- 51:21I think she's just pretty much
- 51:24Janelle in that way. I can spend so much time by
- 51:26myself. I'm just like, yeah, I guess
- 51:28every once in a while I get lonely, but for the most part
- 51:30I'm not lonely. I'm cool being by myself.
- 51:32But she used to be the one that was all like family, this
- 51:36family that we need to be closer, we need to make this
- 51:38work. And I don't know when that
- 51:41switch flipped, but I feel like it's for sure obvious this
- 51:45season. I agree and I don't know if it
- 51:54tried to make her. I think that something about
- 51:58moving out of Lehigh. I mean, it really is that thing
- 52:01like being together. You know, when you live in the
- 52:09then you separate and see each other less.
- 52:12That's why it's so weird to me that they didn't just buy 2
- 52:16duplexes or something. They should have just bought a
- 52:19Yeah, like a multi. Triplex.
- 52:22Yeah, well, Kody was really open for that big millionaire's house
- 52:28The moron. Yeah, they totally could have
- 52:31bought it like a row of townhomes or something.
- 52:33Rented something that made more sense and now we're coming up on
- 52:40So it's not even like they were there for a year and they're
- 52:42like, OK, so for example, coming up on nine months, it's like our
- 52:47Like do you just renew your lease and say, well, we're
- 52:49buying a house or we're building homes?
- 52:51They maybe start going month to month because they're building
- 52:58half year lease. I don't know because they said
- 53:08So yeah, their leases are probably getting close to being
- 53:12up, but a lot of places will offer a month to month, but it's
- 53:19more expensive when their first lease the year was up.
- 53:21If they got a year lease, then that wasn't a trigger moment to
- 53:25figure out a new living situation, even if until their
- 53:32aren't seeing the other kids enough.
- 53:33Like we got to do something. They move every year anyway.
- 53:36They've got Meri. She'll throw a piano on her back
- 53:42they say things, but their actions don't align to what they
- 53:47around each other, then you'd make it fucking happen.
- 53:49And and none of them seem to really do it.
- 53:52No. Not at all.
- 53:53Their families kind of just coming apart.
- 53:56It started splintering back in good old Lehigh when they had
- 54:03one new soon to be wifey out on her own and then the splinter
- 54:10just like broke off even further.
- 54:14I don't know, It's like, God, then all of a sudden the tree
- 54:19that's splintering is hit by lightning.
- 54:21And it's like, now what do we do, you know?
- 54:24Yeah, well, now we're burning, now we're on fire.
- 54:28We're split in half, like all got into shit.
- 54:30And then Robyn's over in the corner being like, I one time
- 54:33had a tree that got hit by lightning, and I'm going to tell
- 54:38Now, we did tell you that we don't get a lot of Robyn in this
- 54:43promise. So you you can give us your
- 54:47mustard seed for being honest about that.
- 54:50Yes, as if we had any control over that.
- 54:52But you know what? We were blessed with very
- 54:54little. Robyn.
- 54:55Thank you. Thank you.
- 54:56Puddle Monkey Production. I think we saw Solomon more than
- 55:01Kody. Oh Jesus.
- 55:03Oh God. And also a little moment when
- 55:06they were saying goodbyes to Drake and little truly
- 55:09scrumptious came up and was like, like by the dog.
- 55:12And I was like, oh truly, She's like getting that little blonde
- 55:15head of hair. The little Peach fuzz.
- 55:17Yeah, yeah. So cute.
- 55:19I always love seeing truly when she was little.
- 55:23So now moving on to our mustard seed and shit stain.
- 55:27Darling, would you like to start?
- 55:29Would you like to tell everyone who you feel has earned a
- 55:32mustard seed in this episode? Oh.
- 55:34Boy, the mustard seed here is going to go to Janelle for
- 55:43starting her workout journey again, not necessarily getting
- 55:55little nutso there, but I appreciate that she is, you
- 56:00know, getting down to business and taking care of herself again
- 56:08trainer and her have a good vibe going between each other.
- 56:11And I like that he's actually addressing the psychological
- 56:14like reasons behind the eating because that is the major, major
- 56:27know, sticks with it. What about you?
- 56:30Well, I have to admit that I'm a little sad because you took the
- 56:34only mustard seed that I really could think of.
- 56:36Yeah. How so?
- 56:38This is where I'm going to have to.
- 56:40I'm going to throw the leaderboard for Topsy Turvy
- 56:43here, and I'm giving a mustard seed to Christine Brown.
- 56:49I'm going to immediately regret this, but when they went to go
- 57:06And she made her decisions very quickly.
- 57:07And I have to say that that is admirable for the situation.
- 57:14Ordinarily, I probably would not be.
- 57:19So I don't know if I would call it flippant that she was like
- 57:22that, but I have to give her kudos that she was just so quick
- 57:29more Hemming and hawing, but I also do feel confident in making
- 57:36mustard seed, no matter how much it pains me to give it to her.
- 57:43right? Like, they've gotten to look at
- 57:45it. They've probably seen pictures
- 57:49actual, like, Swatch of stuff there in front of them, we don't
- 57:54think about it and made her decisions and then got to see
- 57:57him in real life and was like, yeah, I think my decision's good
- 58:04cracked me up. And I agree with you on the
- 58:08mustard seed here because when she said she was 15% under
- 58:12budget, Kody said, oh, Meri's going to probably try to get
- 58:16your 15% for hers and Christine goes she is not getting my 15%.
- 58:21Yes.
- 58:21And then that's when the tile came up that she was getting
- 58:24tile in her dining room. All the more reason for her to
- 58:28have earned this mustard seed is
- 58:32Like right away she was like. No love that.
- 58:36And so, Christine, you get my mustard seed on the shit stain,
- 58:40darling. Oh.
- 58:41Shit stain. I think you're going to take my
- 58:43shit stain again. The shimmere in my drawer.
- 58:48But luckily, I think there's more than one choice for this
- 58:50episode, so I won't be too disturbed no matter what you
- 58:52choose. I think, you know, I'm going to
- 58:54take it because it's going to be
- 58:56He's definitely a dark dark brown shit stain.
- 58:59Yeah, the not wanting to tell the children and hide yet again
- 59:04a huge thing from them. You know you hid the move until
- 59:09the like the day before. You have hidden so much in your
- 59:15life and probably still are. And how's it fucking working out
- 59:20for you? These kids would have been
- 59:23traumatized if Meri had gone along with your dumb plan of not
- 59:29telling them. And then to top it off, it's
- 59:32like, I don't know, there's just
- 59:37and him trying to put the blame on another person and trying
- 59:43to make Meri be the fall guy. Like that's where that was
- 59:47going. That's where that was going.
- 59:49And no one would have known because guess what?
- 59:52They probably wouldn't have put that conversation on the show
- 59:55either. And it would have been one of
- 59:57these things between the family where it's like.
- 1:00:01Meri saying no, Kody was the one
- 1:00:04choice. And then Kody going to Robyn
- 1:00:07saying I never said that. You know, it would have been one
- 1:00:10of these drawn out bullshit things where Meri gets blamed.
- 1:00:15Yeah, he's gross. He is gross.
- 1:00:19He's a fucking narcissist. He only wants to be seen as the
- 1:00:21good guy. So he pretends that he doesn't
- 1:00:24make any decisions because or he
- 1:00:27decision. Yeah, it's just, it's awful.
- 1:00:31Yeah, he's a stinky, Stinky. Well, he's supposed to be the
- 1:00:33leader of the family, Christopher.
- 1:00:36He's. Supposed to be.
- 1:00:36He's supposed to be, and as we're finding out, he is 1000%
- 1:00:41not and he is manipulating all
- 1:00:47And then they get together for
- 1:00:50have these discussions where no one gets to be really truthful.
- 1:00:54100% if it approaches that someone has a blow up.
- 1:00:59Kody talks at people in a way that jockeys things and makes it
- 1:01:04seem like you'd are either wrong
- 1:01:08he's always clarifying things in
- 1:01:12true. Manipulating the situation?
- 1:01:15Yeah. He pits the wives against each
- 1:01:22Yeah, it's situations like this where this could have been
- 1:01:26turned real bad real quick if Meri had gone along with him not
- 1:01:35Yeah, what? You know, Speaking of terrible,
- 1:01:37Meri, my shit stain goes to Meri Brown.
- 1:01:40Oh, Meri. You know, Meri, I've given you
- 1:01:47I highly doubt that the budget for these homes is like
- 1:01:51literally pinching every penny. I'm pretty sure she had a
- 1:01:55perfectly adequate budget to make some very reasonable
- 1:01:58decisions and to have some moderate finishings, some nice
- 1:02:08Those kind of things, like literally making the decisions
- 1:02:15that her first page, she was already over budget, that she
- 1:02:19couldn't have the sliding door. Kody, I hate a sliding door.
- 1:02:24If you guys could have like honestly that clip of her with
- 1:02:37stuck in one or something when you were 10?
- 1:02:39Like what's the problem here? Why do you hate them so much?
- 1:02:42God just like, bring that, bring 110th of that passion into
- 1:02:46saving your own family. No shit like.
- 1:02:48Straight up. That's literally what the
- 1:02:51Darkers we're telling them. Yes, literally.
- 1:02:53Like I care more about decorating than your family.
- 1:02:55Apparently, yes, she does. And she does finding, we're
- 1:02:58finding that literally the time here.
- 1:03:00She needs the wet bar, she needs the French doors, and she
- 1:03:03doesn't know where she's going to save money on this budget.
- 1:03:06And it's like, Oh my God. And she needs the five bedrooms
- 1:03:08because she needs the hobby room and the pantry.
- 1:03:10I need my hobby room in my wet. Bar I went by the pantry and I
- 1:03:18because I hit my tie and one wants.
- 1:03:21This woman, it's like, oh God, you know, Meri, I was rooting
- 1:03:27for you. We were all rooting for you.
- 1:03:29How dare you? Yeah.
- 1:03:31It's like I've given her so many mustard seeds and now I'm going,
- 1:03:38She's my shit stain this week. Sorry, Mayor.
- 1:03:41Sorry, Mayor. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:43That's where we're at here. This was that's another one that
- 1:03:53this is how we have to get the family back together.
- 1:03:56It's like we've had so many episodes and in some weird, dumb
- 1:04:06reason, the experience, it's going to bring us back together
- 1:04:08and. Then we'll do nothing about it.
- 1:04:11Anyway, who gave us love this
- 1:04:14week? I want to know that this.
- 1:04:15Is it OK? So we got some mustard seeds,
- 1:04:18which is wonderful. And our keep sweet moment this
- 1:04:20week is on Apple podcast, a five
