- 0:01Speaker 1: Now sevenor presents.
- 0:04Speaker 2: No Mark Simon shaw Well, John Lemon arrested. We'll get
- 0:09Speaker 2: to that. There's a new FED chairman, We'll get to that. Minnesota,
- 0:12Speaker 2: the latest Alex Predie, there's a shutdown battle going on
- 0:18Speaker 2: right now, the New Millennium movie, and lots to talk
- 0:21Speaker 2: about Luigi Mangione. All right, the good news is the
- 0:25Speaker 2: big storm on Sunday looks like it's gonna miss us,
- 0:28Speaker 2: that big bomb cyclone storm that was heading right for us.
- 0:32Speaker 2: In some of the weather models, it looks like as
- 0:35Speaker 2: it stands now and we're we're within the three days,
- 0:39Speaker 2: which is usually when the weather's very accurate, looks like
- 0:42Speaker 2: it will miss us. If you're in the end of
- 0:45Speaker 2: Long Island, the Hampton's Montuck here, it's gonna hit you.
- 0:47Speaker 2: You could get three inches of snow and ferocious winds.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And if you're way up the Connecticut shore line you
- 0:54Speaker 2: might get it. But Manhattan, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut, NASA,
- 0:59Speaker 2: most of Suffolk you're safe from any series. There should
- 1:02Speaker 2: be no accumulation on Sunday. That's the current forecast. So hey,
- 1:09Speaker 2: Don Lemon has been arrested. Now I'm looking at It's
- 1:14Speaker 2: always good to go to Mediaite. Mediaite is a left wing,
- 1:19Speaker 2: very biased, very slanted, left wing websites. Very good website,
- 1:22Speaker 2: but very very slanted. And let me look at all
- 1:26Speaker 2: the different headlines. It's got a political world rocked by
- 1:30Speaker 2: stunning arrest of Don Lemon, terrifying. CNN's Brian Selter says,
- 1:39Speaker 2: Morning Joe warns Don Lemon's arrest is what happens in
- 1:43Speaker 2: authoritarian countries. Now, let's put out just make clear the
- 1:48Speaker 2: actual decision to indict Don Lemon was not made by
- 1:52Speaker 2: Donald Trump. It was not bade by the Attorney General,
- 1:55Speaker 2: it was not made by the Deputy Attorney General. It
- 1:58Speaker 2: was not made by anybody in the Justice Department. They
- 2:01Speaker 2: decided they would present it to a grand jury, and
- 2:05Speaker 2: the grand jurors voted to indict Don Lemon. Not the
- 2:09Speaker 2: Trump people. A grand jury looking at the evidence voted
- 2:13Speaker 2: to indict Don Lemon. He's charged with civil rights violations.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And there's laws on the books that you could argue, well,
- 2:23Speaker 2: wait a minute, the church, the doors are open. Anybody
- 2:25Speaker 2: can walk into that church. Yeah, that's true, but there's
- 2:29Speaker 2: laws on the books. The law is very specific. If
- 2:32Speaker 2: you go into the church, you can't do anything to
- 2:34Speaker 2: interrupt the service. You can't do anything to interrupt the
- 2:38Speaker 2: service or anybody in there. You can't do anything to
- 2:41Speaker 2: intimidate them in any way. And Don Lemon was part
- 2:44Speaker 2: of this mob that went in there trying to intimidate
- 2:46Speaker 2: the hell out of everybody in there, the worshippers, and
- 2:50Speaker 2: to stop the service. Can't. It's a total violation of
- 2:54Speaker 2: the law. There's a couple of laws there that he's
- 2:57Speaker 2: going to be charged with, and one of them, well
- 3:02Speaker 2: one of them is a civil rights violation, and one
- 3:05Speaker 2: of them is what they used to call the klu
- 3:07Speaker 2: Klux Klan Act, because that's what the clan did way
- 3:11Speaker 2: back when they would go into black churches as a
- 3:14Speaker 2: mob and yell and scream and menace everybody and stop
- 3:17Speaker 2: the service. Well that's what happened here in Minneapolis. So
- 3:20Speaker 2: when the Klan did that all the time, that's when
- 3:23Speaker 2: they passed this other law to make that totally illegal.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So Don Lemon will face a couple of charges. He
- 3:29Speaker 2: was arrested yesterday in Los Angeles. He was there to
- 3:34Speaker 2: cover the Grammys and that's when they arrested him. Now
- 3:40Speaker 2: I know Don Lemon when he says cover the Grammys
- 3:43Speaker 2: that means go to the parties. He was at all
- 3:45Speaker 2: the parties. Actually, Don Lemon is very close to Clive Davis,
- 3:48Speaker 2: very very close friend to Clive Davis's and Clive Davis
- 3:52Speaker 2: is like the King of the Grammys. His Grammy party
- 3:55Speaker 2: is the most important event of the whole week. So
- 3:57Speaker 2: that's where Don Lemon was, and they arrested him. I
- 4:02Speaker 2: heard he spent a couple of hours in jail on
- 4:05Speaker 2: Los Angeles. He's hired Abby Lowell, who's the big number
- 4:09Speaker 2: one top Washington d C. Any kind of problem with
- 4:12Speaker 2: the government, that's the guy you hire. That's who Hunter
- 4:15Speaker 2: Biden hired, Abby Lowell. It's a guy Abby Lowell representing him.
- 4:22Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens next. Now Lemon is in
- 4:26Speaker 2: his statements already is claiming that he was acting as
- 4:28Speaker 2: a journalist. Now the problem is that's a hard case
- 4:32Speaker 2: to make in court acting as a journalist. He's not
- 4:36Speaker 2: actually employed anywhere as a journalist. He has no job
- 4:42Speaker 2: as a journalist. He has been I guess what he
- 4:45Speaker 2: did in the past. He's more of an anchor, talk
- 4:47Speaker 2: show host. But I guess you could call him a
- 4:49Speaker 2: journalist in the past. But he's not a journalist. He's
- 4:55Speaker 2: an unemployed guy for a couple of years. He has
- 4:57Speaker 2: a Twitter thing, a Twitter feed. I can think he
- 5:00Speaker 2: has a sub stack. He maybe does a podcast, but
- 5:03Speaker 2: I don't know that that. I don't know that qualifies
- 5:05Speaker 2: you legally as a journalist. So we'll see what happens.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Also going into court today Luigi Mangione Friday today. It
- 5:16Speaker 2: was an attempted break out of prison yesterday, probably the
- 5:21Speaker 2: worst one ever attempted. A guy showed up at the
- 5:25Speaker 2: correctional center here in Manhattan claiming that he was an
- 5:29Speaker 2: FBI agent and he was there to pick up Luigi
- 5:32Speaker 2: Mangion and transfer him. They asked to see some identification.
- 5:37Speaker 2: The guy took out his driver's license, and I think
- 5:41Speaker 2: they explained him we meant FBI credentials, not a driver's license.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And then they frisked him and found wasn't a knife.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It was a pizza cutter, you know that round, the
- 5:52Speaker 2: little round thing you cut the He had a pizza
- 5:55Speaker 2: cutter on him. Apparently he did work at a pizza place.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I guess he stole the cutter. I don't know what
- 6:02Speaker 2: he was planning to do with that, but he's in
- 6:05Speaker 2: jail now. Too, So the breakout attempt didn't go well.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Manjeone's going to argue all kinds of things in court today.
- 6:11Speaker 2: He's got a whole bunch of lawyers. They'll argue that
- 6:14Speaker 2: the arrest was illegal, unlawful. And then when they arrested
- 6:17Speaker 2: him in Pennsylvania, the McDonald's, some of the evidence they took,
- 6:21Speaker 2: they took illegal. I don't know how he's gonna argue
- 6:23Speaker 2: NEI this even if you've got evidence tossed out. The
- 6:26Speaker 2: surveillance cameras on the street here in Manhattan. One thing
- 6:28Speaker 2: about Manhattan. Not other places don't have this, But in Manhattan,
- 6:32Speaker 2: every inch of the street has got a surveillance camera
- 6:35Speaker 2: on it, so you can see the video of Mangione
- 6:37Speaker 2: shooting the guy. So all this other stuff, I don't
- 6:40Speaker 2: think it'll come into play now. Tom Holman is still
- 6:46Speaker 2: in Minnesota trying to calm things down, doing a pretty
- 6:49Speaker 2: good job of it. But you got these crazy nut
- 6:53Speaker 2: job agitators, Alex pretty who as soon as it happened,
- 6:58Speaker 2: you saw all these people all over the airwaves making
- 7:01Speaker 2: these speeches about what a gentle soul he was, what
- 7:04Speaker 2: a wonderful, tender human being he was. Now that turned
- 7:07Speaker 2: out to be a ridiculous thing to claim, because we
- 7:10Speaker 2: saw the videos of him two weeks ago, totally out
- 7:14Speaker 2: of control, raging like an absolute lunatic in the street,
- 7:18Speaker 2: yelling and screaming, and the ICE agents were making an arrest.
- 7:22Speaker 2: He got right in their face. And then I can't
- 7:25Speaker 2: play the audio for you because everything's the F word,
- 7:29Speaker 2: F you, you mother efforts, and he's screaming right, he's
- 7:32Speaker 2: spitting on them, screaming and assault me. Go ahead, assault me,
- 7:35Speaker 2: you mother effort, just out of control in a rage.
- 7:40Speaker 2: And then they get in their car. They were pretty
- 7:43Speaker 2: good at just tolerating it. The Ice agents didn't do anything.
- 7:47Speaker 2: They got in their car, they're going to driveway. He
- 7:49Speaker 2: starts violently kicking the car really hard, and one point
- 7:53Speaker 2: kicked it so hard he not only smashed the tailight,
- 7:55Speaker 2: he took the entire tail light section out of the car,
- 7:58Speaker 2: leaving a hole in the back of the car. So
- 8:01Speaker 2: then the agent stopped, tackled them to the ground, and
- 8:04Speaker 2: I don't know why. I guess they were just being
- 8:06Speaker 2: very tolerant, trying to de escalate it. I don't know why,
- 8:09Speaker 2: but the agents let him go. They should have arrested
- 8:12Speaker 2: him right then and there. He committed a number of
- 8:14Speaker 2: crimes right there. He's a criminal. They should have arrested him,
- 8:18Speaker 2: And had he been arrested put in jail, maybe he'd
- 8:21Speaker 2: still be alive today, maybe wouldn't have been around to
- 8:24Speaker 2: try it again. So he's just I mean, what kind
- 8:28Speaker 2: of lunatic. I mean, you got to be a raging
- 8:31Speaker 2: lunatic to do that. If you were on the street
- 8:34Speaker 2: and you saw a bunch of police cars surrounding somebody
- 8:37Speaker 2: and it looked like they would arrest that guy, would
- 8:41Speaker 2: you have the nerve to go interfere with that? I mean,
- 8:45Speaker 2: it takes a lot of guts. Let's say you wanted
- 8:46Speaker 2: to go maybe maybe if you had a lot of nerve,
- 8:49Speaker 2: you'd go start yelling at them, Hey, what the hell
- 8:51Speaker 2: are you? Didn't start yelling and taunting them and yelling
- 8:54Speaker 2: at that takes a hell of a lot of nerve.
- 8:57Speaker 2: But how much nerve does it take to get right
- 9:00Speaker 2: their face, spit on the cops, pushed them, call them
- 9:03Speaker 2: every name in the world, and then start damaging their vehicle,
- 9:06Speaker 2: kicking the tail light out of their vehicle. That takes
- 9:08Speaker 2: a hell of a lot of nerve. If you know
- 9:10Speaker 2: what that's not even nerve. You got to be on something.
- 9:13Speaker 2: He must have been on some kind of drugs to
- 9:15Speaker 2: be that out of control, to be that deranged, just
- 9:18Speaker 2: absolutely insane. This guy. So hey. The other big news,
- 9:22Speaker 2: Kevin Walsh is the new FED chairman. Donald Trump had
- 9:26Speaker 2: it down to a bunch of choices. It was either
- 9:29Speaker 2: going to be Treasury Secretary Scott Bessont, but Bessant didn't
- 9:34Speaker 2: want to move over there. Bessett wanted to stay in
- 9:36Speaker 2: the White House. And I think that's a good idea.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I think Bessant is the most valuable of all these guys.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Keep them in the White House. Keep this Treasure Secretary
- 9:43Speaker 2: to me, much more important job than FED chairman. Then
- 9:47Speaker 2: there was Kevin Hassett, who's another great, great guy, brilliant,
- 9:49Speaker 2: gut perfect guy for FED chairman. But he's in the
- 9:52Speaker 2: White House, is Economic Council, and he's very very very
- 9:56Speaker 2: very valuable there. So they didn't want to give him up.
- 9:59Speaker 2: They wanted to keep them there. The other choice was
- 10:01Speaker 2: Kevin Walsh, the Kevin Hassett, Kevin Walsh, and they always
- 10:05Speaker 2: said it would come down to the two Kevins, and
- 10:09Speaker 2: so it looked like it would be Kevin Walsh, although
- 10:12Speaker 2: at the last minute a new candidate emerged, Rick Ryder
- 10:15Speaker 2: suddenly was in the mix. Rick Ryder, who nobody liked,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and they looked at his donation history. Donated to Pete
- 10:23Speaker 2: Boota j Edge, he donated to Kamala Harris. This is
- 10:26Speaker 2: like another Jerome Powell. He wasn't even really in the mix.
- 10:30Speaker 2: He was being pushed by the Wall Street guys, Black Rock,
- 10:34Speaker 2: Larry Fink was They were the ones pushing him. So
- 10:36Speaker 2: it was more of just a courtesy interview and all
- 10:38Speaker 2: of that. Then there was a last minute candidate the
- 10:42Speaker 2: last two days, Judy Shelton, who's a great woman. I'd
- 10:45Speaker 2: be perfect for that. Although it ended up being Kevin Warsh.
- 10:49Speaker 2: He'll be the new FED chairman. Wall Street not that
- 10:53Speaker 2: thrilled about it. The reaction so far as the market
- 10:55Speaker 2: is down over it. Some people think he's too hawkish.
- 10:59Speaker 2: When you're a FED chair in hawkish means you're you know,
- 11:02Speaker 2: you're trying to increase rates, you're trying to be too aggressive.
- 11:06Speaker 2: But yeah, they spent a lot of time, a lot
- 11:09Speaker 2: of time talking to him. Scott Bessont pushed him. This
- 11:13Speaker 2: was Scott Bessont's final choice, and he pushed it, which
- 11:16Speaker 2: means he'll be responsible for this if it goes bad
- 11:20Speaker 2: and warsh. He's a nice guy, and he's a very
- 11:23Speaker 2: very plugged in, well connected guy. Everybody in his family
- 11:26Speaker 2: father close to the president, his father in law close
- 11:29Speaker 2: to the president, and his grandfather in law very close
- 11:32Speaker 2: to the president. So and he was working like crazy
- 11:36Speaker 2: to get the job, not just campaigning hard, but everybody
- 11:40Speaker 2: says behind the scenes, trying to sabotaze the other candidates,
- 11:43Speaker 2: bad bouthing him to everybody. So he's the new FED chairman.
- 11:46Speaker 2: It should be announced later today. Expect the President to
- 11:50Speaker 2: make the announcement later. The Milania movie had its big
- 11:55Speaker 2: premiere last night in Washington, d C. Fifteen hundred people,
- 11:58Speaker 2: Kennedy Center. We'll get it. Monica Crowley will be with
- 12:01Speaker 2: us later. I imagine she was there. She'll tell us
- 12:04Speaker 2: about it. Hey, President Trump somehow has gotten Putin to
- 12:09Speaker 2: agree to a cease fire in the Ukraine for one week,
- 12:14Speaker 2: just a one week ceasefire. He called him and somehow
- 12:17Speaker 2: got this done.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Really, they said they've never experienced cold like that. And
- 12:22Speaker 1: I personally asked President Putin not the fire into Kiev
- 12:26Speaker 1: in the various towns for a week, and he agreed
- 12:29Speaker 1: to do that, and I have to tell you it
- 12:31Speaker 1: was very nice. A lot of people said, don't waste
- 12:33Speaker 1: the cold, you're not going to get that, and he
- 12:35Speaker 1: did it, and we're very happy that they did it.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Right. It's not much, but it's something. You know, hundreds
- 12:41Speaker 2: of people get killed a week there, so they'll save
- 12:43Speaker 2: a few hundred lives. Hey, they had a cabinet meeting
- 12:46Speaker 2: yesterday and President Trump it was different this time. You know,
- 12:51Speaker 2: the last two times they had a cabinet meeting, the
- 12:54Speaker 2: cameras are allowed in and the press is allowed in there,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and then he lets every one of the cabinet members speak.
- 13:01Speaker 2: But he didn't do that this time. He didn't let
- 13:02Speaker 2: them speak. And he actually said, we're not going to
- 13:05Speaker 2: go through all that again because the last time we
- 13:06Speaker 2: did it it lasted three hours and I closed my
- 13:09Speaker 2: eyes a few times and they started making fun of me,
- 13:11Speaker 2: thinking I was asleep, and he said, look, it got
- 13:14Speaker 2: pretty boring. The room started to laugh. He said, I
- 13:18Speaker 2: just closed them because I wanted to get the hell
- 13:21Speaker 2: out of there. He says, I didn't sleep, I was
- 13:25Speaker 2: just getting bored, which I believe That's what I don't
- 13:31Speaker 2: know why he wants this job. You know, this guy
- 13:32Speaker 2: used to the most fun. He was in New York.
- 13:36Speaker 2: It's a glamorous fun existence. It was parties and celebrities.
- 13:39Speaker 2: He'd be going to his office, every movie stars coming in,
- 13:42Speaker 2: comedian It'd be nothing but fun. Now he's sitting in Washington,
- 13:46Speaker 2: the president of Lithuania. Who wants to talk to that guy?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Cabinet meeting with all these secretaries of this and that.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Pretty boring stuff, but it's what he wants to do now.
- 13:58Speaker 2: In the cabinet meeting, he did not call on Christy Nome,
- 14:01Speaker 2: and they didn't take questions from the press, and all
- 14:04Speaker 2: the talking they did not bring up Minnesota in any way.
- 14:07Speaker 2: They talked mostly about the economy and a good idea,
- 14:11Speaker 2: you know, Minnesota is The two shootings were horrible. In
- 14:18Speaker 2: the case of Pretty I still don't see why the
- 14:20Speaker 2: shots were fired. In the case of Renee Good, you
- 14:23Speaker 2: can see why the shots were fired. She did hit
- 14:25Speaker 2: the guy with his car with her car, and the
- 14:28Speaker 2: first shot went right through the front windshield, which means
- 14:31Speaker 2: he was in front of the car as it came
- 14:33Speaker 2: at him and it did hit him. You can see
- 14:35Speaker 2: that in nelivities, but the pretty one you can't see them.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I mean, they should have just arrested the guy. He
- 14:39Speaker 2: would have been in jail for a very long time
- 14:43Speaker 2: for that incident and for the one two weeks ago
- 14:46Speaker 2: we damaged the police car. Gallaine Maxwell claims now that
- 14:52Speaker 2: twenty five of the Jeffrey Epstein accomplices, victims whatever you
- 14:55Speaker 2: want to call him, had made secret settlements with the
- 15:00Speaker 2: billionaire of people that were there. So what that would
- 15:03Speaker 2: mean was that's why they were never in the mix,
- 15:06Speaker 2: never came forward, never testified. So it's an interesting point
- 15:10Speaker 2: that there'd be a lot of victims out there that
- 15:13Speaker 2: never came forward, never came close to talking to anybody
- 15:16Speaker 2: in law enforcement. They are going through the Epstein files.
- 15:19Speaker 2: What's taken so long, Well, you got to go through
- 15:23Speaker 2: and read every page to make sure that there's no
- 15:27Speaker 2: victim names, You got to redact all that. You got
- 15:29Speaker 2: to read five point two million pages. You know how
- 15:33Speaker 2: long that would take. Justice Department says they've assigned now
- 15:37Speaker 2: four hundred lawyers to this and they're working around the
- 15:41Speaker 2: clock trying to review all five point two million pages. Now,
- 15:45Speaker 2: when you get these pages, you're going to be very disappointed.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I mean, I've talked to a lot of people saw
- 15:51Speaker 2: most of this is coming from the Justice Department, the
- 15:54Speaker 2: US Attorney's Office Southern District. They're the ones that ran
- 15:56Speaker 2: the investigation. And if you talk to guys that put
- 16:01Speaker 2: all this together, they'll say, what's in these files. It's
- 16:03Speaker 2: basically just interviewed transcripts of interviews with witnesses. Some of
- 16:08Speaker 2: it true, some of it turned out not to be true.
- 16:10Speaker 2: You know, you get good witnesses, bad witnesses. But that's
- 16:13Speaker 2: what's in there. Hey, don't forget it was President Trump
- 16:16Speaker 2: and his Justice Department that arrested Epstein. It took place
- 16:19Speaker 2: in twenty nineteen. It was during the Trump administration Epstein
- 16:24Speaker 2: got arrested and prosecuted. Hey, we'll take some calls in
- 16:28Speaker 2: a minute. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
- 16:31Speaker 2: is the number. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
