- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take where?
- 0:03We talk all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's. Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes it.
- 0:11All starts. Right now.
- 0:15Oh. Welcome back to the three O take
- 0:18presented by Chinook. Siri, this is episode 547.
- 0:21I'll be your host Kyle Corn. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:25Reyes. Nate KC.
- 0:30How are we? I'm feeling the juices are
- 0:35flowing, man. You know, we literally just
- 0:38talked about it before we hopped on.
- 0:40But shout out to the LSU Tigers. And I'm not necessarily saying I
- 0:47got a dog in the fight for in this College World Series, but
- 0:51what fired me up yesterday last night was watching that kid for
- 0:57LSU go CG winning the ball game by a score of 1 to nothing
- 1:07through like AI. Think it was 127 pitches maybe?
- 1:15That's big time. The coach comes out.
- 1:17I think he's got like one out left.
- 1:19He'd just given up like a Walker hit or something.
- 1:21I had it on in the background. We had some people over, but I
- 1:23was trying to, I was trying to keep an eye on it.
- 1:25The coach comes out, think you need like one more out and
- 1:28everybody's going crap. This is where he's not going to
- 1:30get the full 9 classic baseball moment.
- 1:36Coaches like this is your game to finish.
- 1:38Leaves him in there, gets the win.
- 1:40Dude, I need more of it in Major League Baseball.
- 1:44I wonder if there's like a psychological aspect to that
- 1:47because I don't think managers get enough credit with like, the
- 1:51psychological aspect to helping players.
- 1:56But like, imagine going that way, You know what I mean?
- 2:00Like amping up your guy so much by like walking out like that.
- 2:04Like I'm going to hold my breath because I might get pulled right
- 2:07now, but he allows me to talk my way into finishing this thing.
- 2:12And then it's like, good luck if you're in the box after that.
- 2:16Good luck. I got fired up.
- 2:18I'm not. I'm not.
- 2:19I'm not at the ballpark. I'm not in this game.
- 2:22And I'm like, let's freaking go. Yeah, it's sick.
- 2:26I do, I do. I love Coastal Carolina for just
- 2:32like their their uniforms and their colors I think are so sick
- 2:35and I love that. Like, I don't know, man, it's
- 2:40such like a baseball College World Series school, like, you
- 2:44know what I mean? It's like that school does not
- 2:48matter in any other sport. No offense, no, no disrespect,
- 2:51but like it's just college baseball for that school, you
- 2:54know what I mean? So the part of me is like, we've
- 2:58seen LSUA lot. We've seen that a lot.
- 3:02There's always dudes coming out of that school.
- 3:05Something about Coastal Carolina, man, I'm like, I'm
- 3:08kind of into it. But when you have your guy go CG
- 3:14game one, you got the entire staff to throw at your Game 2
- 3:19to, to finish this off, you know, it's like anybody gets in
- 3:25trouble, you can just bring in the next stud.
- 3:27It's going to be hard to hard to see LSU losing this thing.
- 3:31Hard to overcome that. Yeah, man, I got the juices
- 3:34flowing. So I'm I'm I'm ready to talk
- 3:36some ball today. I am ready to do and achieve the
- 3:42unthinkable. We are going to cast the perfect
- 3:46All Star ballot, which is going to be difficult to do given that
- 3:52we presumably will have different picks for our ballot.
- 3:55So this. Is, well, this is the first time
- 3:57that you and I have. I did mine yesterday.
- 4:01I did 1 yesterday, you did one yesterday.
- 4:04So we're coming in with those answers versus every year we've
- 4:07done this, we've like talked each other through it.
- 4:11Now we're going to try to convince each other to maybe
- 4:13change some picks, which I like. Well, that's what I was going to
- 4:16ask. Are we, are we settled on, on,
- 4:19on submitting A singular ballot here because you, you mentioned
- 4:24what we've done in the past. I I think we submitted our own
- 4:27respective ballots, like separately.
- 4:33Yeah, I think we've agreed on everything, but we can do a
- 4:36collective one if you want. That's yeah, that's going to be
- 4:41the challenge. We're going to have to talk each
- 4:43other into some pics here, yeah? By the way, I think you can put
- 4:45this game on. It's on ABCI.
- 4:50Don't have I'm not logged in on ABC.
- 4:53What's like the ESPN on ABC thing anyway?
- 4:57What do we should we set some parameters for this?
- 5:00Should we like set some what? Are you thinking this is a what?
- 5:06This is an open experiment here. I'm I'm down.
- 5:09For whatever you, you remember in Friends where like Ross and
- 5:12Rachel are talking about what to name their kid and they had like
- 5:15vetoes to give like veto, veto correct.
- 5:19Maybe, maybe we're allowed like 1 veto each.
- 5:25If if we're like really saying no, I, I'm, we're not, we can't
- 5:29find common ground. So then what happens in in place
- 5:34of a veto? The guy that doesn't have the
- 5:38guy that doesn't have the veto wins.
- 5:41I don't know. Let's, we'll, we'll workshop it.
- 5:46We'll workshop it. We'll workshop it.
- 5:48All right. I think we're going to be pretty
- 5:49similar. I I feel very level headed with
- 5:54my choices. I feel very, that's a great way
- 5:57to describe it. I feel very level headed, but I,
- 5:58I also feel pretty strongly about my picks.
- 6:02Like I, I, I looked at the numbers and also that they, I'm
- 6:07going to keep it real with themlb.com.
- 6:09I hate that they indicate who are The Who are the number one
- 6:13and two. I hate that.
- 6:15Leaders right now talk about skewing the votes.
- 6:18Yeah, that sucks. Don't do that.
- 6:20That's terrible. Like.
- 6:22Don't do that. Don't.
- 6:23Lead the people, like, don't lead me to the water.
- 6:27Like just let me find the water myself.
- 6:29Yeah, You know, I. That not to go on too much of A
- 6:32tangent, that kind of reminds me the Michael Kay had a kind of a
- 6:37cool idea when he was talking about like instant replay in
- 6:40like challenges. He was like, if there's a way
- 6:44for New York, the people in New York, whatever, that it reminds
- 6:50me of, like the banker and dealer, No deal, by the way,
- 6:53just like a dark shadow of a figure walking around, like, we
- 6:57don't know what these people look like.
- 6:58They stay in New York. Do we really know that it's in
- 7:01New York? I.
- 7:03Don't know, but but he was saying like if there's a way for
- 7:06them to not know the call, like not know safer out, not no
- 7:13catcher, you know, no catch, like for them for somehow some
- 7:17way to not know the call and then make the decision strictly
- 7:21based on the replay. I was like, that's a really cool
- 7:24idea because you were saying like, let's figure out these
- 7:28votes on our own. Like you don't need to sway me
- 7:30into the most popular vote. You don't need to sway me into
- 7:34that call. Let me just figure out the call.
- 7:38Anyway, tangent. No, that, I mean, that's, that's
- 7:41exactly what I'm saying. Like if if you're listening or
- 7:44watching and haven't and you don't know what we're talking
- 7:47about, haven't voted yet. If you go on the ballot on
- 7:51MLB.com and actually here, that's actually a great segue
- 7:54here. Let me, let me, let me pull this
- 7:59up here. OK, All right, here we are.
- 8:01So as you can see, they've got the, the top 2 vote getters at
- 8:08each position, which I hate for many reasons, One of which
- 8:12again, I don't feel like you should be leading me to, you
- 8:15should be leading the voters. But also like, if you're going
- 8:19to do 2, why not do three? Like, why stop it?
- 8:22I don't know. That's just a, that was a minor
- 8:23gripe. I'm like, that's fair.
- 8:25You know, top 3 is a pretty standard, respectable gripe,
- 8:29standard range. Anyway, we are going to set out,
- 8:33as I said, to do the unthinkable.
- 8:35We are going to, we are going to craft the ultimate, the perfect
- 8:40All Star ballot, the infallible ballot, the ballot to beat all
- 8:45ballots, OK. Excellent.
- 8:48So let's just start where they have let us and that is the
- 8:52position of first base. Nate, I tweeted out yesterday, I
- 8:59said we are, we are. We're putting our votes out
- 9:05tomorrow on tomorrow's pod meeting today.
- 9:07And I said prepare to be upset. And I'm just going to go ahead
- 9:11and say right now, I think some people are going to be upset
- 9:15right off the top. Probably, but that's OK.
- 9:17That's we're not here to to people.
- 9:19Please. Well, I'll be honest with you.
- 9:22My ballot. This is our ballot.
- 9:24I'm not here to Nate, please. Understandable.
- 9:28By that maybe I'm not either. By that I mean that I'm not
- 9:35selecting the current top vote getter and Paul Goldschmidt.
- 9:40For. My American League first
- 9:42baseman. You know why?
- 9:45Because that's a disservice to the rightful vote getter.
- 9:49Vote earner. The representative that should
- 9:53be at first base in the American League, Jonathan Aranda.
- 9:58OK, I'm glad because. I mean, what are for?
- 10:03Those for those not watching, shame on you First off.
- 10:07Second off, I understand. I mean, if there's a time to
- 10:10watch now, it's, I mean, this is the episode.
- 10:12To do, but if you can't see on your screen, Paul Goldschmidt's
- 10:15the number one vote getter right now.
- 10:17Vladdy is the number 2 for the American League first base slot.
- 10:22But Jonathan Aranda has had a fantastic year.
- 10:27Fantastic year. Real sneaky.
- 10:30I mean, the OPS is near 100 points higher than than Paul
- 10:36Goldschmidt. More RBI, more RBI, and he's
- 10:39hitting fifty points higher, 30 points higher, 30 no.
- 10:45Oh, he's hitting 298. Yeah, 298 to 325.
- 10:48Like. 27 points higher. That's a big jump, dude.
- 10:52So yeah, Jonathan Aranda is, is absolutely my my vote getter as
- 10:58well. And what I did I on my notes, I
- 11:03put like this like this guy over this guy.
- 11:07So I put like who I would put as my my second one and I put
- 11:11Aranda over Goldie. I made a note as well.
- 11:15Yeah. And and the fact that Vladdy
- 11:19like it if if you're so drawn to Paul Goldschmidt just because of
- 11:23the resurgence, the the sort of renaissance season he's having,
- 11:27I can understand. But to have Vladi.
- 11:31But like, it's not even like Aranda's second.
- 11:34Yeah, where's this crazy man? Where's the respect?
- 11:38I know lot of disrespect. I hate it.
- 11:44I'm all about, no disrespect, but Aranda's getting a whole lot
- 11:48of it On the National League side, we've placed our votes for
- 11:50Jonathan Ron. On the National League side,
- 11:54Freddie Freeman, the top vote getter, hit and coming in today,
- 11:56hitting 322, nine homers, 41 ribbies, 919 OPS.
- 12:03Folks, I hate to hope, to hate to break your hearts, but that
- 12:07is not the right guy. That is not the right guy for
- 12:10first base because you know who is?
- 12:13Nate, Take it away. Peter.
- 12:16Alonso, what are we doing? What a great year.
- 12:21Higher OPS than Freddie, more RBIs than Freddie, double the
- 12:25amount of home runs than Freddie and he's still in 294.
- 12:30If if he was hitting like 230, I'd be like, OK, this may be a
- 12:35harder decision, but Pete it in 294 and having this pop.
- 12:40Yeah, it's Peter. Easy enough.
- 12:46Second base. This one's interesting.
- 12:51I'm wondering how you're feeling right now Glaber is in first
- 12:55place and what it was Jackson Holiday in second place.
- 12:58Jackson Holiday, what are we doing?
- 13:00I mean, come on. Well, no disrespect, but also
- 13:04the second base position, I mean, historically is a it's
- 13:06light. It's a weaker offensive
- 13:08position, no doubt. But this year in particular,
- 13:12like not very, yeah, not very packed with the production here.
- 13:19Yeah. Is there anyone that kind of
- 13:20tickled your fancy and was like, I could maybe give this guy a
- 13:24nod? You know.
- 13:27Without revealing your your pick.
- 13:30No, it's not. Yeah.
- 13:34I mean, it's not who I went with, but a guy that piqued my
- 13:37interest a little bit. Your fancy was tickled.
- 13:42My, my, my fancy was tickled. Brandon Lau.
- 13:45See, that's my vote. He I went Brandon Lau.
- 13:48OK, well, that's the wrong answer, but it's Brandon Lau
- 13:52hitting 26. See, this is what I'm saying.
- 13:53This is this is where the voting systems flawed.
- 13:57You just look at these numbers alone, like if you want to go in
- 13:59advance metrics, whatever, but these numbers alone, a higher
- 14:02average in Jackson Holiday, more homers than Jackson Holiday,
- 14:06almost twice the amount of RBI is Jackson Holiday and a higher
- 14:09OPS in Jackson holiday. And he's second.
- 14:11Brandon Lau is not even not even one of the top vote getters.
- 14:14So I don't know how that makes sense, but Brandon Lau is not
- 14:16the answer, Nate, because I'll be I'm going to keep it real
- 14:21with you. I think the I think the people
- 14:23got it right. You were.
- 14:24I have I this was a tough one for me.
- 14:28I but I put Brandon Lau over. Glaber yeah, I I think I've got
- 14:33the the people having this one right, You know, obviously
- 14:37Brandon Lau can. You talk me through it.
- 14:39Well, you know, it it maybe, OK, maybe it's unfair to the rest of
- 14:44the All Star field because I can't pick and choose when to
- 14:47use the team success narrative, but I feel like I went that
- 14:53route with Glaber Torres where I'm going.
- 14:56He's playing a a part in that offense that is part of the best
- 15:00team in baseball. And this is the Glaber Torres
- 15:05that I the year I'm I'll be honest with you, the years are
- 15:09sort of flying by. I think it was coming into last
- 15:11season. I was like, Glaber Torres is
- 15:14going to have he's just going to go off this year, isn't he?
- 15:17And then it ended up not being the case as much.
- 15:19But this is sort of the start to a year, or at least the first
- 15:22half of the year where I was like, this is more along the
- 15:24lines of what I was thinking getting back to that, that, you
- 15:29know, the glimmer in the pan, the flash in the pan that we had
- 15:32seen in years past. And I think he's on that track.
- 15:36And again, given the fact that the Tigers are doing what
- 15:38they're doing, that's why I went Glaber here.
- 15:40But talk me through Brandon Low. I mean 15 home runs to 7.
- 15:47I OK, well let me ask you this and you probably maybe you can
- 15:51look it up for me. Can you pull up his splits?
- 15:54By chance I knew you were going to go this route because it is
- 15:56in Steinbrenner field. Well, yeah, I mean, it's not,
- 15:58I'm not, I'm not accusing the guy, but I'm more so curious
- 16:01because I I, I would like to know what the, what the home Rd.
- 16:06splits are for Brandon Lau. Because if you take out, well,
- 16:13let's see here. So this could be interesting.
- 16:19This could be interesting. He's got eleven home runs at
- 16:22home, 4 on the road he's got. But to be fair they haven't
- 16:27played a ton of Rd. games because they're they're front
- 16:30loading all of their home games due to being in Tampa and like
- 16:35trying to beat all the bad weather with rain coming right?
- 16:37Sure, but he's. Hitting 278 on the road compared
- 16:41to a 256 at home. He's got a 417 slug on the road
- 16:48to a 494 at home, a 772 OPS to a 781 OPS at home.
- 16:55So like it's not that bad. Like I, I think he's, I think
- 16:59he's playing good ball. It was to me like there wasn't
- 17:03enough of a gap between their OP s s and he's got double the
- 17:07amount of home runs. Like that's where I'm at.
- 17:11And the fact that the Rays are doing what they're doing this
- 17:15year, I get what you're talking about.
- 17:18Like the Tigers arguably being the best team in baseball.
- 17:24I don't think Labour is a, is a is a massive reason for that.
- 17:29And I think it's one of those like knowing Labour, you could
- 17:34see these stats just be these stats at the end of the year.
- 17:38Like you could see him maybe tacking on like four or five
- 17:42more home runs and him finishing at 11 or 12 home runs this year.
- 17:46And he's going to have an OPS around 760 and he's probably
- 17:49hitting around 26270. Like it's just, that's just kind
- 17:53of who he is. Like it's.
- 17:55You think he's going to fall off a Cliff that bad?
- 17:58I don't think it's falling off a Cliff because I think this is
- 18:01just, this is just what he is. As it as it stands right now,
- 18:06what you're saying? Yeah, like, I don't think it
- 18:08gets better than this. Like this.
- 18:11I'm just who he is now. And, and I think like with the
- 18:15resurgence of of Javi Baez, like, I don't know if the Tigers
- 18:20are going to continue to, you know, utilize him every day in a
- 18:26way. And I know this, this is an All
- 18:27Star vote. We're not talking about like how
- 18:29the season's going to finish and who an All Star would be at the
- 18:32end of the year. But in my mind, like the Rays
- 18:36doing what the Rays are doing, Brandon Lau's a big part of
- 18:40that. All right.
- 18:43I mean, I'll be honest with you. I I don't.
- 18:46You're not willing to die on the Glaber.
- 18:47Hill Yeah, I'm not willing to die on the Glaber.
- 18:49Hill Fair enough. I'm being honest.
- 18:53I've got Brandon. Here.
- 18:54I've got Brandon Lau on my fantasy team, so it's I
- 18:58obviously saw something in him to to warrant picking him up.
- 19:01But I tell you what, with the month of April that Christian
- 19:04Campbell had, he was he was set to be a lock with, again, going
- 19:09back to how weak the field is at second base.
- 19:11He was set to be a lock and then just plummeted.
- 19:15Yeah. So, OK, you know, I I'll allow
- 19:19this one. I'll go.
- 19:20I'll go. Brandon Lau.
- 19:21All right. We can.
- 19:22We can meet in the middle here. We'll go.
- 19:24Brandon Lau. Good deal, we might have two two
- 19:26Rays hanging out in the starting lineup, bro.
- 19:29Oh, if people get their head out of their booty.
- 19:33Hold on. I'm trying to trying to figure
- 19:36out, oh, I see you're saying with the Rhonda.
- 19:40Yeah, OK. I was, I thought you were saying
- 19:42there's one to come. I was like, I'd, I don't know,
- 19:45I'd I'd have to check the rest of my line up here on the
- 19:47National League side of second base.
- 19:51I think there's. There's only one right answer
- 19:53here. There's only one right answer
- 19:54here, Katel Marte leading the field.
- 19:56Dear Lord, having a year. I don't think it's particularly
- 20:00close if I recall. It's not.
- 20:02It's not and. Brendan Donovan minus the minus
- 20:07the jacks. Throw them some flowers, throw
- 20:09them some flowers. Definitely having a good year.
- 20:11I like that and I had to when I was looking up numbers.
- 20:15I had to double check on how many games Katel Marte has
- 20:18missed and it hasn't been that bad.
- 20:20I think he's still played like 70 games or something.
- 20:23So he's still, I know he started off the season on the IL and
- 20:27then I think he had one more IL stint at another point.
- 20:32But I mean, the OPS north of 1000, he's got 13 Jacks sitting
- 20:37over three like he is. He is the reason the
- 20:43Diamondbacks are still like kind of hanging on to this year and
- 20:47it's not by much it's a very small thread, but he's a big
- 20:51reason for it. So could tell for sure you know
- 20:54how old he is we've. Talked about this he's.
- 20:58A sneaky one. He's like 33 I.
- 21:02Mean that's not. No, but like.
- 21:04You you had him pegged it being younger.
- 21:07Yeah, because like, I don't know, like I just, I feel like
- 21:10he didn't have. He's 31.
- 21:15I feel like he didn't have, like you didn't come onto the scene,
- 21:19didn't come onto the scene as a big name until as of recent.
- 21:25They also got to remember he spent his first two seasons with
- 21:28the Mariners. True, very true.
- 21:31Wild any who's yeah already told it up a 2.8 war this year.
- 21:37It's good to tell. Let's let's move it on.
- 21:43Also, I've seen in the chat casuals love batting average.
- 21:47I hope that's not AI hope that's not a shot at us.
- 21:51Yeah, I think I think you and I have have since moved on.
- 21:55Not not forsaken batting average by any stretch, but we've moved
- 21:58on to to greener pastures in terms of evaluating offensive
- 22:02talent. I put when I was doing this,
- 22:06when I was doing my voting on my phone, I sorted it by OPS,
- 22:12correct? That's kind of the most
- 22:13important step for me. I was using average really as
- 22:17just like a tiebreaker and even even like a fall back.
- 22:20Yeah. Even then, even if it was like I
- 22:23would in order for me to use batting average as a justifier,
- 22:26the gap, like you said earlier, the gap would have to be so
- 22:29substantial to even warrant using that as a metric to decide
- 22:33between one versus the other anyway.
- 22:36You're casual bro, Such a casual.
- 22:40Third base all the American League side.
- 22:44Who's who's running this this vote right now?
- 22:47Who's in first place? We got Alex Bregman in second
- 22:50place. Jose Ramirez, currently the top
- 22:54vote getter hitting 3/24/13, jacks 36 ribbies, 916 OPS.
- 23:02I I went with the people here. Honestly if Bregman was stayed
- 23:08healthy. That's what I was going to say.
- 23:10If if Bregman was still even still playing right now, I think
- 23:15this would be a different conversation.
- 23:16But like him being out and it's been out for a while, it's
- 23:21impressive that he still has those numbers after he's been
- 23:25out for what, 3 weeks now? Close to it.
- 23:28So the fact that you still got 11 jacks.
- 23:32But yeah, Jay Ram has, even after a little bit of a slow
- 23:35start, Jay Ram has come on. I had to.
- 23:39I had to stop. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 23:41Go ahead. No, I was just going to say I
- 23:42had to stop myself from saying like if Bregman had stayed
- 23:44healthy this entire season, it wouldn't be much of a question.
- 23:47But I think it would be more of a conversation than we're the
- 23:50I'm I'm indicating because Jay Ram has had, I mean, to no one
- 23:56surprise, he has had quite the first half here.
- 23:59So. Little Little never thought
- 24:02about voting for him, but little nod to Junior Caminero.
- 24:05Yeah, you know what? He. 19 Jacks, I think, yeah.
- 24:09I mean. 50 ribs. My goodness. 833 up.
- 24:13Yes, Not bad, not bad at all. But yeah, we're going, we're
- 24:18going. J Ram here, National League
- 24:20side. This is interesting.
- 24:22I'm real curious on what you're. Thinking, Oh yeah, OK, this was
- 24:25another one. This was this was another one
- 24:27where I knew we were going to upset some people here.
- 24:29All right. So first place currently is
- 24:31Manny, 2nd place is Max Muncie. Max Muncie's a joke.
- 24:36Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sorry.
- 24:38No disrespect. No disrespect.
- 24:40Actually, no disrespect. Disrespect to Max Muncie, I'm
- 24:45glad you got the eyesight figured out and everything.
- 24:48And you're, you're having a little bit better of a, a
- 24:50campaign, but you're, you're no second place in my book, Mr.
- 24:55Muncie. So intended disrespect there.
- 24:59I'm going to keep it real with you here.
- 25:03The real #2 in my opinion, and this is going to upset some
- 25:08people, Eugenio Suarez, because if I'm going to an All Star
- 25:15game, I don't like I I just don't have interest in watching
- 25:21A1 dimensional player. And no disrespect to you, Henrio
- 25:27Suarez, 25 Jacks is nothing to turn your nose up at.
- 25:32I understand. But to me, I got to give it to
- 25:40our guy Manny Machado. And I look, I, I, I said I've
- 25:48said be prepared to be upset. And I know that's going to
- 25:50ruffle some feathers, but that's my vote and I'm sticking to it.
- 25:54And I'd I have a feeling that you're going Eugenio Suarez.
- 25:58I have Gino over Manny. I do.
- 26:01All right, let's hash this one. Out 25 Jacks brother like that
- 26:05is hard to leave that off and we're still a few weeks out.
- 26:10He could creep up close to 30 if he's got 2728 jacks before the
- 26:18for the All Star game. You're nearly on pace for for
- 26:225560 like and not an All Star. That's crazy.
- 26:28Manny's great. Manny's been great hitting three
- 26:32O 9. You know, 12 Jacks is nothing to
- 26:35like, shrug at 876 OPS. We know the defense is elite.
- 26:39But like, I don't know, man, Gino is to this point where
- 26:44like, if if the Diamondbacks don't start turning it around,
- 26:51that man's going somewhere and going to be very impactful in
- 26:56the postseason. Like that's what he's bringing.
- 27:00I I mean I get it 25. And the OPS what is Manny's at
- 27:08876? What's Gino at 890?
- 27:122. Now we got it.
- 27:15We do have a 50 point difference in batting average, so.
- 27:18But that's what I'm saying is like. 58 point at.
- 27:21You can. You can solely attribute
- 27:26Suarez's OPS to just his home run power.
- 27:32Manny's got like half the homers, but he's still, he's
- 27:36still in that in that territory. I get it.
- 27:39He's a double S machine. I get it.
- 27:43And he's hitting three O 9. See the Going back to my point
- 27:45earlier, this is an example. Of like 58 points.
- 27:48That's a big gap. I'm not saying batting average
- 27:51is the end all be all and it shouldn't be, but like that's
- 27:54that's noteworthy enough to me where I'm like, you're still in
- 27:59the same ballpark OPS. You're also, I mean a well above
- 28:03average defender. All I'm going to say is he's
- 28:07just watching. I will, I will let it slide.
- 28:10I'm not going to die on the Gino Hill.
- 28:12But if this man has 50 plus home runs at the end of the year that
- 28:18we look back and say he wasn't an All Star?
- 28:23OK. Well, we're OK.
- 28:25You're in your Suarez as of right now. 2.6 wore on the
- 28:30season. Manny's can be higher cause of
- 28:32defense. Manny's at three.
- 28:38Yeah, I'm, I'm like I said, can we agree?
- 28:46Can we agree? But these are the top 2?
- 28:49Sure, No doubt. No, these were the 2 that I was
- 28:51assigned to. And it I'll, I'll be honest with
- 28:53you. It was a it was a tough
- 28:53decision. I'll be honest with you.
- 28:55I'd take Austin Riley over over Max.
- 28:59Max. Muncie I'd take.
- 29:01Where's Austin? Probably take Matt Chapman over
- 29:05Max Muncie. Like when?
- 29:10Are we going to have a conversation about Kebrien
- 29:12Hayes? I think that, I think that I
- 29:14think it's all done. No disrespect but.
- 29:19What I don't know, I could see him switching, switching teams
- 29:24because he's still very, very, very good defensively.
- 29:27No doubt. He's going to bring some value
- 29:30somewhere. He's maybe going to take a step
- 29:32back as like an everyday role or everyday player into a role.
- 29:35But it's tough, man. It's it's hard to watch.
- 29:41The hitting is just really, really bad.
- 29:43It's it's gotten worse every year since his rookie year.
- 29:47Oh, OK, interesting. Interesting.
- 29:50Before we move on here, interesting note in the chat,
- 29:53has many hasn't many led the league in airs this year?
- 29:57Has he actually a Platinum Glove defender leading the league in
- 30:01airs? Gets lazy with throwing man.
- 30:05Well, that's just Manny being Manny, you know?
- 30:09That seems to that little saying phrases seem to been passed off
- 30:16from generation to generation. I wonder what the next Manny is
- 30:19going to be. So just the name that carries
- 30:22that baggy pants and little hot dog style of play.
- 30:29How many errors does Manny have this year?
- 30:32He's got. Oh, Yikes.
- 30:35Yeah, he's got 11 leading the league.
- 30:39OK, well, OK, generally, generally speaking and above
- 30:47average defender, I mean, he's a Platinum glove winner.
- 30:49So at the very least, so, you know, whatever.
- 30:52OK, my case kind of falls apart defensively a little bit this
- 30:55year, but still more of a multi dimensional player than Eugenio.
- 30:58Are we going, are we going? Are we willing?
- 31:02Are we willing to agree? Manny here?
- 31:04I'm willing to agree. All right, so 11 compromise
- 31:10each. Yeah, I want Brandon Lau.
- 31:12You're going, Manny. I'm curious.
- 31:14I think, I think there's some tricky spots, but I think we're
- 31:17I think we're going to agree over the next couple.
- 31:22Let me put my notes here. Shortstop on the American League
- 31:25side. Dude, when I say that I was
- 31:33unaware. Yeah.
- 31:37You know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 31:38Yeah, exactly. When I say that I was unaware
- 31:43about the year that Jacob Wilson is.
- 31:45Having Yeah, I knew that he was. I knew he was just a bat to ball
- 31:50guy. I knew that he just never struck
- 31:53out. I knew that he also never
- 31:54walked. I knew that he's got happy feet
- 31:57in the box. I knew that the average was
- 32:00going to be good. I didn't realize the pop would
- 32:05be there a little bit too. Bros hitting.
- 32:07Well, that's another. Can you look up, let's look up
- 32:11some splits for Jacob Wilson because I actually saw an
- 32:16interesting note yesterday where it was talking about how the
- 32:27like a good chunk of the next portion of the home schedule for
- 32:31the A's is going to be at a certain time of day.
- 32:34And I don't remember if it said like late afternoon, evening,
- 32:37whatever, but it said it was going to be consistent and that
- 32:39that was going to make the field play even smaller.
- 32:42You'd have to look up the game times.
- 32:44I I don't know what they are, but.
- 32:45That's interesting. Yeah, that it was going to make
- 32:49the field play even smaller. So that's only going to
- 32:51contribute I would imagine to these to this production thus
- 32:55far, but. Jacob splits.
- 32:59Coming into the day hitting 353, nine homers, 40 ribbies, 890
- 33:05OPS, and look, I understand Bobby Witt's not having the same
- 33:08caliber year that he had last year, but it's still Bobby Witt.
- 33:12And it's crazy. Like I, it's safe to say this is
- 33:15a, this is the down year of Bobby Witt.
- 33:18This is like the low end of production, which is nuts.
- 33:22He said like 283 guys would kill for that.
- 33:26Yeah, I can. I hit 283 in the big leagues.
- 33:27Yeah, 100%. OPS of 831.
- 33:31Getting over to Mr. Wilson's splits.
- 33:35Pretty interesting hitting 368 at home to A336418 on base to a
- 33:45361 on the road. 533 slug to a 460 slug for a 951 OPS at home
- 33:52and an 821 OPS on the road, which is still very respectable.
- 33:58Here's where things get crazy, though.
- 34:01It's their day versus night games, and that's just the thing
- 34:03that you were bringing up during the day.
- 34:06He's hitting 440 night 300. So maybe I think that's what it
- 34:15was. I think they're going to be
- 34:16like, they're going to have a lot of afternoon games coming up
- 34:19is what I read. And then how that's going to,
- 34:21like I said, just make the field play smaller.
- 34:23You're going to see a lot more run production over the next.
- 34:26He's 1.112 OPS during the day, A755 at night.
- 34:33There you go. So that tells a lot of the
- 34:38story. But look, man, the A's have are
- 34:45are doing things different. The A's are doing things
- 34:48different this year. There's a lot of excitement with
- 34:51a lot of different guys. And I do feel like a, a, a, a
- 34:55new chapter has started and, and we can get all corny and just
- 34:59say, hey, it's getting out of the Coliseum.
- 35:00And you know, yes, they're going to be in Sacramento for a couple
- 35:03years. And obviously the chapter is
- 35:05moving in a new direction, going to Vegas, fine, all of that
- 35:08stuff. But like, there is legitimate
- 35:10talent on the field and this kid is a refreshing style of play.
- 35:18I'm 100% behind Jacob Wilson. And to that point, like, this
- 35:24isn't just some quirky, like you said, guy that I think a lot of
- 35:28people interpret him to be of this.
- 35:30Just bat the ball. Like, let me just crank out some
- 35:33singles each game and call it a date.
- 35:36Like, no, this guy is going to be the starting shortstop at the
- 35:39All Star game. Yeah.
- 35:42I do want to give some flowers. I do want to give some flowers,
- 35:46by the way, because if you scroll up a little bit, I was
- 35:48actually kind of leaning Jeremy Pena as, as the second place
- 35:54spot. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:56Over Bobby Witt. And I love Bobby Witt, but
- 36:01Jeremy Pena is, I feel like really kind of coming into
- 36:04himself this year and like getting back to what everyone
- 36:08was being hyped about and why the Astros decided to move on
- 36:13from Carlos Correa. This is the type of player he
- 36:16needs to be if they're going to build around him.
- 36:18And the Astros are going to keep doing what they what they need
- 36:20to do. Yeah, I'm with you there.
- 36:25But yeah, without a doubt, Jacob Wilson, the leader in the
- 36:30clubhouse, was shortstop out of the American League, National
- 36:33League. Let's see if we did our research
- 36:36here because I'm very much against both the 1st and 2nd
- 36:41place voters. There's no research that needs
- 36:43to be done here. That means it's right in front
- 36:46of our face right now. Francisco Lindor, the top vote
- 36:50getter hitting coming in today, hitting 26715 homers, 41
- 36:54ribbies, 8O8O3 OPS. Not bad.
- 36:57Not bad, not great, but not bad. Definitely not first place
- 37:01worthy. Neither is Mookie Betts hitting
- 37:04255, nine homers, 37 ribbies, 732 OPS.
- 37:09No, no, no, no, nae nae. Not the top vote getter.
- 37:16But you know who should be the top vote getter right now but
- 37:18isn't? Say it, tell the people.
- 37:21Ellie De la Cruz. Oh, no.
- 37:28Oh, no. Oh, no.
- 37:30I you're not oh, I know. You're, you're a Trey Turner
- 37:34truther. I I.
- 37:36Went Trey over Ellie and. OK, that was, well, to be fair,
- 37:40that was the guy that I was. Yeah.
- 37:41OK. OK.
- 37:43As a Trey truther myself. But I don't think I put enough
- 37:49looks into Ellie because now that I'm seeing numbers, I think
- 37:52I, I think I got to switch. Trey Turner hitting two 98.9
- 37:57homers, 35 ribbies, 805-0805. O PS Elie De La Cruz hitting
- 38:03264. So a little bit of a difference
- 38:06there. 17 homers, 52 ribbies, 835OPS.
- 38:10I think that's what did it for me.
- 38:12Like, I know there's a big gap between RB is and I know there's
- 38:19like a big gap between home runs, but I don't know, like
- 38:23kind of the the argument you were having with Gino's OPS
- 38:28being attributed to his home runs.
- 38:30That kind of gives me that same feeling for Ellie.
- 38:34And I don't want to punish Ellie for, you know, for the ballpark
- 38:37he's in just because it's it's definitely hitter's ballpark,
- 38:40but it's more of the home run Hitter's ballpark.
- 38:43It's not necessarily a a very big outfield for double S and
- 38:49triples. So I don't want to like punish
- 38:51him for that argument, but at the same time, like I can't give
- 38:58the nod to Ellie so easily on RB is just based on where you know
- 39:05Trey is hitting in the lineup and and there's a big gap
- 39:07between average 2. So like this one was a tough
- 39:10one. I don't know if I'm willing to
- 39:12die on the Trey Hill either. On to your point about extra
- 39:16base hits. Trey's got 25 double S, no
- 39:19triples to Ellie De La Cruz's. He's got 14 double S and a
- 39:29triple. So a lot of those, a lot of that
- 39:34OPS is attributed to those home runs, which like say what you
- 39:37will, it's not I. Can't more than half.
- 39:39Yeah, I can't say hey, like that's that's a bad thing.
- 39:44Like, I can't punish you for hitting home runs, but I would
- 39:50say the same sentiment about about Ellie De La Cruz.
- 39:54But what we said about about Bobby Witt, like, if this is,
- 39:59you know what I'm saying, like, if this is like not the most
- 40:02spectacular season and this is kind of the floor for you, it's
- 40:06still very impressive. I still think Ellie De La Cruz's
- 40:11top three dynamic players as far as all tools go in baseball.
- 40:17But I, I, I leaned towards Trey here.
- 40:22All right. Where are we going?
- 40:23Where are we going to settle here?
- 40:24I don't know man, I mean make your arguments.
- 40:28Well, I mean, outside of the, I mean, Trey's got a sizable gap
- 40:39hitting for average. I understand more homers, more
- 40:42ribbies, higher OPS. What's?
- 40:46Hold on? Let me see here.
- 40:48Let's see. Let's see.
- 40:50Defensively. Yeah, we know Ellie's not great
- 41:01defensively. Right.
- 41:09I'm a sucker for a good quality defensive shortstop.
- 41:14Shame on you for bias does play something so boring.
- 41:21Where are we at with Trey? Wait, now hold on.
- 41:27OK, that nevermind. That was 2023.
- 41:28Yikes. LED all of baseball in 23 errors
- 41:32for Trey in 2023. LED all of baseball in 2023.
- 41:37Ellie LED all of baseball in 2024.
- 41:42This. I don't know man.
- 41:44This is tough. And I believe Ellie's got 21
- 41:51swipes to trays 19. See, that's kind of a wash.
- 41:55I mean, what's the what's the tiebreaker here?
- 41:58How? I don't know.
- 41:59What's the OBP clip they're getting on?
- 42:02344 for Ellie, 355 slug, 450 for Trey, 493 for Ellie OPS plus
- 42:111/23 for Ellie, 120 for Trey. I don't know.
- 42:17Have we said War 2 for 2.4 for both?
- 42:23I don't know dude this is tough. I.
- 42:25I anybody. In the chat going I am, I'm OK
- 42:30going Ellie as the RBI's tiebreaker because it is like
- 42:35it's what is it, 17 RBI gap 35 to 52, right?
- 42:43To 17, yeah. I think if Trey was hitting like
- 42:49315 or 320, I think that would be my tiebreaker.
- 42:58But I, I think, yeah, I think I got to go, Ellie, I guess.
- 43:02I don't know, man. It's tough.
- 43:05It's tough. It's crazy that neither of these
- 43:07two guys are the top 2 vote getters though, right?
- 43:11That's like, and, and Lindor is having a nice year.
- 43:19I could maybe see him in the 2 hole.
- 43:22But getting votes is like, come on.
- 43:27Ellie finished 8th in MVP voting last year for anybody that
- 43:30cares. You know what?
- 43:35Maybe I'll just make that my tiebreaker.
- 43:37Trey Turner was not. It did not receive MVP votes.
- 43:40Are not fair enough. Which obviously carries great
- 43:44weight, obviously carries great weight for the 2025 season.
- 43:47Yeah, this is a tough one, but I can.
- 43:49I can lean, Ellie. I can give.
- 43:50You that man, I thought. I thought we were both on the
- 43:52same page when we both kicked Lindor and Mookie to the side.
- 43:58I did. I thought so too 'cause I know
- 44:00how much of A Trey guy you are. I love Trey but.
- 44:03Yeah, I like Ellie a lot, I don't think.
- 44:05And he look, let's be honest, who has the better chance of of
- 44:09having an absolute putting on an absolute show at the correct
- 44:14It's probably Ellie. So.
- 44:17Which going OK, so I'm glad you brought that up.
- 44:19We're going going to see a show going back to our National
- 44:25League third baseman conversation.
- 44:27Yeah, Manny putting on a show? No.
- 44:30Well, I think Manny put on a show, but if we're talking, if
- 44:32we're looking at fire, if we're looking for fireworks, Eugenio
- 44:36Suarez might be the guy. Gino could sneakily win, you
- 44:40know, pop a couple and win MVP and you're just like, whoa.
- 44:47I don't know. I'm wondering if I should change
- 44:49my vote on the National League side for third base.
- 44:53We'll revisit it. We'll we'll have a chance for
- 44:55final, final arguments. OK, catcher.
- 45:00OK, American lady, we already know absolute luck.
- 45:03Carlos Narvaez. Hey, he's like, I think he's
- 45:09like top three in rookie of the year voting right now.
- 45:12So put some respect on his. Name as a 38 year old.
- 45:18I'm just playing. He's 30 for anyone that's
- 45:19wondering. I know he's spent a a million
- 45:23years in the minor league system for the.
- 45:24Yankees, It's not 38 though, it's 30.
- 45:28Bo Naylor, come on down. Hitting $1.78.
- 45:33It should be. It should be illegal to have
- 45:36names on here if you're hitting below 200.
- 45:38I'm sorry like. If you're not, if you're not off
- 45:43the Interstate, you can't be on there.
- 45:47It's Cal Raleigh baby 31 Jacks. That's disgusting.
- 45:52It's absurd. Can we talk about the fall off
- 45:55of Adley Rushman? What is happening?
- 45:57I. Don't know man.
- 46:00What is going on with him? Did he have?
- 46:04Who am I thinking of? Didn't he dump his girlfriend
- 46:06before the season? And everyone's like I.
- 46:09Was going to say. Everyone's like, oh, here comes
- 46:11Adley getting locked in, getting locked in.
- 46:15Here he comes. He's been terrible for like a
- 46:18year now. Like for a long time.
- 46:22Did he Who? Who?
- 46:26Did he had just have a like a two Homer game or am I thinking
- 46:29of somebody else? To bring his OPS to a total.
- 46:34Of 6, No, it was definitely no. We had a Homer back on the 16th,
- 46:40but that was it. Otherwise, nothing to write him
- 46:43about the last like 3 weeks. Yikes.
- 46:51Yeah, I mean, I don't know, he's missed some time, but still,
- 46:58what are we doing? Yeah.
- 47:00Cal Raleigh though, my goodness and if for the people that are.
- 47:04Essentially get be like the top. I know it won't be just because
- 47:07it's popular popularity contest, but should probably be getting
- 47:11the most votes of anyone. I would.
- 47:15This is historic. Disagree, yes, but I mean and
- 47:20don't is this some like reverse psychology trick to make me
- 47:24defend or like make a case for judge being the top vote getter
- 47:28or you just want to hear me glaze there and judge right now?
- 47:31I'm. I'm not.
- 47:32Against it. I mean how?
- 47:34How would Aaron judge not? In what world did Aaron would
- 47:37Aaron Judge not be the top folk getter?
- 47:42I don't know, I, I just, I'm putting a lot of value in the
- 47:44fact that he's, you know, he's a catcher, catching and producing
- 47:48is, is. Which goes back to what I was
- 47:51saying about Eugenio being A1 dimensional guy.
- 47:53People probably hear me say that and they go, well, all Cal
- 47:56Raleigh's doing is hitting home runs.
- 47:57It's like, not even close, actually.
- 48:00He's playing one of the most challenging positions in all
- 48:05sports, actually. So we're not going to overlook
- 48:09that. And one of the best at it, by
- 48:11the way. Yeah.
- 48:13Easy pick for Cal Raleigh behind the dish.
- 48:16National League. Where are we at here?
- 48:21Yeah, National League Top vote getter right now, Will Smith
- 48:24hitting 328, nine homers, 42 ribbies, 969 OPS.
- 48:30Carson Kelly. Carson Kelly, the number 2 vote
- 48:34getter is wrong, correct? I mean the man, the man above
- 48:39him people have been. Correct.
- 48:42People have been cooking me in the comments being like, Hunter
- 48:45Goodman should be the representative for the Rockies,
- 48:49and he presumably will be. But even though he won't be
- 48:53starting, no. Man, Will Smith is.
- 48:57Just is having an insane year. Hunter Goodman's having a great
- 49:03year. Deserving.
- 49:04Of some respect. It's good to see and like it's
- 49:08not this isn't like a, you know, participation trophy for the
- 49:13Rockies of like him being on the roster, which he likely will be.
- 49:18You're going to need a couple catchers.
- 49:20This is like a legitimate deserves that spot.
- 49:24So I'm glad that we're we're going to have some we're going
- 49:28to have a white sock on this team that you're just like
- 49:30really like we just 'cause we have to have somebody.
- 49:34This for the Rockies is this is solid man, impressive.
- 49:38Good for Hunter Goodman, but it's Will Smith.
- 49:43Will Smith coming out of the National League?
- 49:44Correct. 69 OPS. Can we let's just for the sake
- 49:52of suspense, let's come back to the outfield.
- 49:58Let's just knock out the best. Yeah, let's the best.
- 50:01We got some things to talk about with the outfield.
- 50:03So let's just let's get let's get down to it with the DH here.
- 50:08American League. I'm curious if you agree here.
- 50:12We probably. Dude, the DH coming out of the
- 50:18American League did not excite me whatsoever.
- 50:21And we have Raphael Devers to thank entirely for this being a
- 50:27lackluster position now. Yeah, I guess the leader I get,
- 50:37I think the fans have it right as of right now, do they not?
- 50:41Ryan o'hearn. I have Rooker over Ryan o'hearn.
- 50:46All right, well, let's look at Ryan O'hearn hitting three O 510
- 50:48homers, 29 ribbies, 867 OPS to Brent Rooker's 272, which is
- 50:55lower, 15 homers 5 higher or five more than O'hearn. 41
- 51:00ribbies more than O'hearn, 832 OPS, which is the 35 points
- 51:07lower. State your case.
- 51:10I just didn't like Ryan O'hearn's comments.
- 51:14What do you say? Well, after Devers got traded,
- 51:17he's like, I'd like to think the Red Sox front office or
- 51:20whatever, like huge shout out to them.
- 51:22I mean, that's I mean, if you're going to say something, that's
- 51:25my only reason. It was like 3 weeks before the
- 51:28All Star game. Like relax guy, you're not going
- 51:30to you think you just have a lock on on the All Star position
- 51:35for. Like have some awareness.
- 51:37He he knows he's at least in the running.
- 51:40I mean, look at this dude Jock Peterson hitting a buck 31 two
- 51:44homers, 6 O five O 7. Judge is hitting five O 7.
- 51:50At this point he's in Anthony Santander 179 six homers, 18
- 51:55rubies, 577 OPS. Jorge Solaire hitting two O 7.
- 51:59Abraham Toro. Abraham Toro is like at the in,
- 52:04like the upper. Yeah, you know, for upper
- 52:07echelon of this list, a lackluster list at that.
- 52:12There's just, you know, Yandi Diaz put some put some shine on
- 52:16his name. Yandi's coming.
- 52:19That guy's been swinging. It may be getting a cannon soon.
- 52:24Soon Yandi hitting 28312 jacks, 44 ribbies, 796 OPS.
- 52:30So yeah, that's. What I'm saying bro, screw up.
- 52:33No, no, hold on, screw up. I I'm willing to.
- 52:35I was just, I didn't like the comments, that's all.
- 52:39So. It was, it had to have been in
- 52:42jest. I didn't hear the tone, but you
- 52:44got to think he's just having fun with it.
- 52:48You're not actually bothered by Ryan O'hern's comments, are you?
- 52:52Well, that and him, you know, we talked about him being like the
- 52:55number one trade deadline guy and it's just like, what are we
- 52:57doing? What are we talking about?
- 52:59That's not his fault. But yeah, the fact that Ryan
- 53:01O'hearn's getting touted is like the go Too bad.
- 53:04I'll have a prediction. I predict that before I buy the
- 53:08All Star game, Yandi Diaz will have better numbers than at
- 53:12least three of those 4 categories that we're looking
- 53:14at. Then O'hearn, yes, Well, he's
- 53:18already got more homers. He's already got more RBIs.
- 53:23He's got 20, what, 22 points to come up with on average and 70
- 53:31points on OPS. I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll put that
- 53:35in. Seven.
- 53:37Wait 71. Yeah, 7171 points.
- 53:44I'm coming for. I'm coming for you.
- 53:45I'm. It's Yandi.
- 53:47Yeah, I might even switch it. I don't even want Brent Rooker
- 53:49anymore. I want Yandi, he's on my fantasy
- 53:53team. That's fine.
- 53:54Well, you're you can switch to have him as your number 2
- 53:57because Ryan o'hearn as of right now is.
- 53:59The guy. OK, fair.
- 54:03For now, for now. Hey, I'll, I'll hear you out,
- 54:07but we're placing our vote right now.
- 54:09So you know, we got to go with what we know.
- 54:13National League DH. Boring.
- 54:15Just go do it. Hey, before we click the button
- 54:22though, can we talk about the year Christian Yelich is having?
- 54:28Welcome back, Welcome back, say Suzuki.
- 54:31Say him a. Quality very good year.
- 54:33Suzuki, I think he just, I think he just went yeah, yeah, just
- 54:36moments ago. That's good because I watched
- 54:39him make a play on a ball in right field.
- 54:41That was pretty sad to to see. Gavin Smith and another name,
- 54:48Chiefs Who? What did I say?
- 54:50You you can you combine Gavin Sheets, Gavin Smith?
- 54:55Gavin Smith, welcome. To the show, No Gavin Sheets is
- 54:59what I was saying. Gavin Sheets having a having a
- 55:02good year out in San Diego. I mean, Schwarber is not
- 55:06anything to to just shrug at. Here 43 jacks that's that's
- 55:12Eugenio Suarez dude. You would make the same argument
- 55:16for Schwarber as you would Suarez, except.
- 55:21Except Schwarber isn't actually these.
- 55:23Players I know it's tough to compare these players because
- 55:27This is why they get paid This is why schwarber and Gina are
- 55:30getting paid it's because like this is what they do we're we're
- 55:33not paying them to hit 228290 you know like they're doing
- 55:38exactly what they should be doing I.
- 55:40Get it, But I'm going to go with the more multi tooled player.
- 55:49Before we scroll up, what jersey is Marcela Zuna going to be
- 55:53wearing at the end of the year? You had a prediction on that?
- 56:03Was there, I can't remember, was there any truth to that rumor
- 56:05with him in Boston with the package that.
- 56:11Chris Sale. Yeah.
- 56:16I'd be hard to be hard to see that happening, but.
- 56:24No, but I thought no, no, not with, not with Duran.
- 56:28I'm not talking to Duran, said. There was.
- 56:31The Braves got brought up in the Devers conversation, didn't
- 56:34they? I.
- 56:35Don't. Know, I think Ozuna was part of
- 56:37that. I except I don't know if that
- 56:40how much. Again, I don't know if there was
- 56:41any truth to that, but probably not.
- 56:45I don't know man, are you just going to assume that he's not
- 56:47going to be wearing a brave uni by the end of the year?
- 56:50I think the Braves are smart. Plug him as a Mariner.
- 56:58Him and Randy are better, probably good friends.
- 57:01Probably boys. Yeah, I can see it.
- 57:05I can see it. But show.
- 57:07Hey, Otani hitting 28825 jacks, 44 rubies, 996 PS What?
- 57:16What does? What's Cow's OPS this year
- 57:21again? Do you remember?
- 57:22One, it's like just under 1100. 1039 Holy cow, dude.
- 57:29Yeah. Holy cow.
- 57:31Holy cow. All right, here's where things
- 57:35get interesting. That T-shirt exists, except for
- 57:39a different cow. Let's.
- 57:42This is where things get fun. This is where the best.
- 57:45This is the. Best of the whole ballot?
- 57:48This is where feelings are going to be hurt.
- 57:51Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:53This is where feelings are going to get hurt.
- 57:56Aaron Judge. I hate to say, buddy, you're on
- 57:58the outside looking in this year.
- 57:59Shut up. I mean, 1195 OPS is all you
- 58:04could put together. Give me a break and you're
- 58:08supposed to be the face of this sport.
- 58:10My goodness. OK, we'll go Aaron Judge as as
- 58:14the clear leader, the top vote getter hitting three I'm.
- 58:17Super excited to see where you go after this here.
- 58:20Are you now? Yeah, give me what?
- 58:29Give me what you have. OK, well my number two pick, My
- 58:36number two pick, I'm looking at him right now.
- 58:38Byron Buxton. Byron Buxton, How about it?
- 58:43Have a year man hitting 28016, Jacks 40.
- 58:48Back. RB is and an OPS of nine O 6.
- 58:52Bro is back. I regret dropping him in fantasy
- 58:56without. A doubt he's the ultimate
- 58:59teaser. I was just waiting for the for
- 59:01the inevitable. Shoot a drop.
- 59:03Yeah, out three to four months headline, but here we are.
- 59:09All right, buddy, who's that third spot going to?
- 59:14My third pick, I'm just double checking here.
- 59:19I already know who who the pick is.
- 59:21I'm just making sure I didn't overlook anybody.
- 59:23No disrespect. My third pick, again going back
- 59:30to lacking awareness of of the year that this individual is
- 59:33having Riley Green. Dude, we're 3 for.
- 59:39Riley, Let's go. Yes, Riley Green of the Detroit
- 59:44Tigers, hitting 29117 homers, 59 RBIs and an OPS of 875 and he.
- 59:54How many games have we played so far this year?
- 59:56Where are we at? We're at Dang.
- 1:00:04Sorry I had something else pulled up.
- 1:00:05Where'd it go? So the Tigers have played 6662
- 1:00:10games and I was curious on how many?
- 1:00:16No, not hunter Green Riley Green has played.
- 1:00:26I'm confused. He's played 76 games.
- 1:00:34What's wrong with baseball Reference?
- 1:00:35What? Are you trying to figure out?
- 1:00:38The Detroit Tigers are 40 and 22, but somehow the Baseball
- 1:00:42Reference page has Riley Green appearing in.
- 1:00:48No, these tigers, this year, tigers are 49 and 30.
- 1:00:52I don't know what you're looking at.
- 1:01:00What is wrong with my ESPN app 40 and 22?
- 1:01:05What is happening? Clear your.
- 1:01:08Cache I don't I don't know. Maybe I'm bad at that.
- 1:01:11I am bad at that. We can't trust any of the stats.
- 1:01:14I just read off for the last half hour on players.
- 1:01:17Now love that you get this guy says all the time ESPN trash
- 1:01:23ESPN's trash and continually uses ESPN services for his for
- 1:01:28his research it makes. Sense to me, I'd like to say I
- 1:01:31just I can cruise through all right.
- 1:01:32So he has he has plenty of games.
- 1:01:34He's played 76 games. Yeah, 'cause I was worried, I
- 1:01:38thought he was out for like the he didn't start the year with
- 1:01:41them. So I was like, how many games
- 1:01:43has he played? But the fact that he's put up 17
- 1:01:45jacks and 59 ribs, like hitting 291, this is absolutely the
- 1:01:51choice. He's playing very good defense
- 1:01:53out in left field as well. Like, dude is a freak man.
- 1:01:58Dude's an absolute. Stud rounding out the outfield,
- 1:02:02Riley Green on the National League side.
- 1:02:06This is where this is where some feelings are going to get hurt
- 1:02:13if they haven't, if they haven't been hurt already.
- 1:02:15This was hands down the hardest vote for me was the NL outfield
- 1:02:26hands down. For me.
- 1:02:31Who's your number one? I I would I'm going to refrain
- 1:02:36from ranking my NL outfield votes because I don't.
- 1:02:40Who's your number 3 then? Would we go backwards here?
- 1:02:47I don't want I want to refrain from ranking my National League
- 1:02:51outfielders. OK, so so.
- 1:02:55My number one was clear to me. Well, let's start with you.
- 1:02:59Who who is your number one? My number one was Jason Hayward,
- 1:03:03the recently DFA D Jason Hayward, bro, No, no, no, no
- 1:03:08full disrespect, full disrespect to the recently DFA Jason
- 1:03:12Hayward. It's.
- 1:03:13Crazy to me that Jason Hayward has a job and JD Martinez
- 1:03:16doesn't. At I don't get how baseball
- 1:03:20works sometimes, man. Who's your who's, who's your
- 1:03:23top, Who's your number one? That's so clear.
- 1:03:25James Wood. Thank you.
- 1:03:27OK. Yeah, Yep, James Wood has been
- 1:03:31fantastic. Keep going.
- 1:03:35There we are. There we are.
- 1:03:38Just crazy good numbers. 21 jacks, 57 ribs, 935 OPS.
- 1:03:43Which is better in every category except batting average
- 1:03:47and not by much. She's only four points lower
- 1:03:51than Kyle Tucker. He's got every, he's got a beat
- 1:03:53and everything else like that is the number one vote getter in my
- 1:03:58mind for the NL outfield. Been great and he's going to
- 1:04:02continue to be great. He's he's, you know, he's going
- 1:04:07to be up there as far as national greats, as long as he
- 1:04:10sticks around, as long as they keep him around, I should say.
- 1:04:15OK, so Kyle Tucker, obviously in the mix for Nano Tatis, another
- 1:04:20guy that's in the mix here, a guy that I once said also in the
- 1:04:24mix, a guy that I actually went with is my, we'll just call it
- 1:04:31#2. OK.
- 1:04:34I can find him on here somewhere.
- 1:04:42I know, I know exactly what you just saw.
- 1:04:44I know exactly what you just saw that made this so difficult.
- 1:04:48I spent 10 or 15 minutes just in the NL outfield.
- 1:04:54Is it in our in our effort to craft the the perfect All Star
- 1:04:59ballot? Is it a sin to have Corbin
- 1:05:02Carroll in the National League outfield?
- 1:05:04Here's where we're struggling people because like the 20 home
- 1:05:07runs easy like that should get you in 44 RBIs that should get
- 1:05:11you in a 914 OPS that should get you in, but he's sitting 255.
- 1:05:15How many? How many swipes does he have
- 1:05:16this year? I don't know, I don't trust my
- 1:05:19stats anymore. Don't look at ESPN, go to
- 1:05:21literally anything else. Near near near.
- 1:05:28He's got 10 swipes. The on base actually isn't
- 1:05:35great. OK.
- 1:05:37Let's 41. Let's do this, let's do this.
- 1:05:39Do we both are? Are we both in agreement?
- 1:05:44OK, let's, well, let's just say let's compare Corbin Carroll to
- 1:05:48Kyle Tucker. OK, Kyle Tucker.
- 1:05:57My goodness, there's a lot of names.
- 1:05:59Kyle Tucker hitting 282. Better. 14 homers.
- 1:06:03Only 6 less. 44 RBIs. Better was it?
- 1:06:09Yeah, I think he had 41. 912 OPS.
- 1:06:14A lot better. Really. 912 to no.
- 1:06:21Carol's hit 914 OPS 9 four. Yeah.
- 1:06:25Numbers. Numbers are tough math.
- 1:06:27And he also has the same amount of RBIs coming in today.
- 1:06:29So wrong on both counts. I'm on fire today.
- 1:06:34You're crushing it 282 to 255. I mean, that's a substantial
- 1:06:43enough gap. Let's just stop dancing around
- 1:06:46it. Let's put Alex Verdugo where he
- 1:06:47belongs. Alex Verdugo, you are the top
- 1:06:52vote getter of the 2025 All Star Voting.
- 1:06:55Has not touched all four bases yet.
- 1:06:58That's crazy. Wait, a big a big goose egg in
- 1:07:02the home run category. Love that starts with AV.
- 1:07:07Keep scrolling, it's alphabetical.
- 1:07:09Oh, it's alphabetical goodness. 0 homers, 6 O3 OPS.
- 1:07:19Oh, this is the only time that you and I will refuse to say no
- 1:07:25disrespect because that is full disrespect, full intended.
- 1:07:29Thanks for nothing, Alex. Regina.
- 1:07:31Ugliest disrespect All right let's let's shake things up
- 1:07:38here. You know it's it's.
- 1:07:40He hasn't been around long enough.
- 1:07:41I know, I know. But like, he's going to be
- 1:07:47there. It's Atlanta.
- 1:07:49He's going to be there. Dang, that's such a good point.
- 1:07:54So, but like with that said, I'm not I'm not wasting one of our
- 1:07:58votes. I'm not I'm not parnishing this
- 1:08:01this perfect ballot here with a vote for a guy that just hasn't
- 1:08:05been around. So I'm going to go James Wood.
- 1:08:13I can. I'll hear you out on the Kyle
- 1:08:15Tucker over. I don't have Kyle Tucker.
- 1:08:19I have Corbin Carroll. OK, so then who's the third
- 1:08:26name? Because we got to we got to
- 1:08:27figure out which two were dwindling.
- 1:08:28We're we're zeroing in on here. Who's your who's your last guy?
- 1:08:34I. Don't want to say it.
- 1:08:36Yeah, you do, PC. OK, that's who I also have.
- 1:08:41So we have the same outfield on both sides.
- 1:08:44Both sides, yeah, but I. I'm liking it less.
- 1:08:51I I really did. I felt better about it coming
- 1:08:54in. But now I'm looking.
- 1:08:59Yeah, no. I don't know, 61 rib eyes.
- 1:09:02Yeah, yeah, yeah. And 868 OPS.
- 1:09:05That's good enough. Yeah, good enough, good enough.
- 1:09:08Austin Hayes, appreciate your service.
- 1:09:10Juan Soto, not good enough. Be better.
- 1:09:15Yeah. That's not not worth being a
- 1:09:16billionaire for. I'm going to need a better OPS
- 1:09:19from you billionaire. Yeah.
- 1:09:24OK. Then who's our third?
- 1:09:25Guy that's I think it's Corbin Carroll or or Kyle Tucker,
- 1:09:31right? Fernando.
- 1:09:37Fernando Jackson Merrill. Nice.
- 1:09:44Missed. He's missed time.
- 1:09:46Billy Ramos. Nice.
- 1:09:47He actually just got upgraded today off off the.
- 1:09:50The Tigers are going to win this, by the way, LSU.
- 1:09:58I'm going to. I'm going to have to go.
- 1:10:03I think I got to go. Corbin Carroll.
- 1:10:04Here 6 more jacks, slightly better OPSI bet he's got a lot
- 1:10:11of double s He has 13. Double s What's what's his
- 1:10:23what's his defense looking like? How many?
- 1:10:40How many swipes you say he had? 1010 yeah, he only had one error
- 1:10:43in the outfield. Kyle Tucker's got 18.
- 1:10:48She got 18 swipes. Tuck.
- 1:10:50Kyle Tucker. Yeah.
- 1:10:56He's sitting 30 points higher. Almost.
- 1:11:05Cubs are already getting PCA. So what are you saying?
- 1:11:13Do we spread the love? Give it to Corbin.
- 1:11:18No, I was saying Kyle Tucker had more swipes.
- 1:11:20He had what I say 18I. Know from seeing the Cubs
- 1:11:24already getting PCA. And, well, I I'm not here to
- 1:11:26worry about spreading the love. We're here to present the
- 1:11:29perfect ballot. I'm seeing Andy Paas in the
- 1:11:34chat. 29216 Jacks. Big nod there.
- 1:11:37Big nod. Age 40. 7.
- 1:11:39Big nod, big nod. I'll take Andy Paas over Juan
- 1:11:46Soto. I mean you.
- 1:11:50You would almost have to. Yeah.
- 1:11:54It's not much of a case to be made there for Juan Soto.
- 1:11:58Boy, it's the OPS for me. I mean, that's a big gap between
- 1:12:03Indy Paas and Carolyn Tucker. We we've been at this for a
- 1:12:10while. I think we need to, we need to 0
- 1:12:13in on this. Yep, that's, that was our vote.
- 1:12:19That was our original vote and we're sticking to it.
- 1:12:21It was sort of going back to how we started this thing about
- 1:12:24reviews and and evidence being able to overturn.
- 1:12:29I didn't see enough evidence there to overturn.
- 1:12:32Right. It's a, it's a call.
- 1:12:34Call stands not call confirmed. Correct, correct.
- 1:12:39For now, it's a couple weeks left.
- 1:12:40All right, we can probably do this again.
- 1:12:43Maybe we maybe we make that a plan when we get there Saturday
- 1:12:47we throw one last ballot in or something.
- 1:12:49They'll probably have to be in by then, huh?
- 1:12:53Well, about. Yeah.
- 1:12:54Well, yeah. When do they have to be in?
- 1:12:57What do you think they tell these guys like Sunday night?
- 1:12:59Like, hey, Congrats, you've made it to the All Star game.
- 1:13:01Get on the next flight out here. I'd like to take that.
- 1:13:04When's voting due? It's probably soon because
- 1:13:07remember they do the multi phase thing where you got to you got
- 1:13:10to pick your starters and and so on and so forth because they do
- 1:13:15like the you do like the top three, I think and then you got
- 1:13:18to pick starter or something like that.
- 1:13:19I don't know, I. Don't know either.
- 1:13:21Who knows? 51 LSU Bottom 5.
- 1:13:24But how about that? Well, that was fun.
- 1:13:26There's our, there's the perfect.
- 1:13:27Hour and a half, What else do we got?
- 1:13:29Do you want to talk about anything else?
- 1:13:32Right now, just closing the book here real quick.
- 1:13:34Mets just wrapped up a seven. I think it was a 7 game losing
- 1:13:38streak. They snapped that on Saturday
- 1:13:40with the win convincing win if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:13:43Astros, to your point from last episode, running away with the
- 1:13:47American League West, it seems the Mariners just coughing it
- 1:13:51up. Shame, shame, shame.
- 1:13:53But there's a lot of baseball left.
- 1:13:55But I'm just going off a track records here.
- 1:13:58So do with that information what you will.
- 1:14:03Ron Washington out indefinitely as manager of the Los Angeles
- 1:14:08Angels. Yeah, I'm not a fan of that.
- 1:14:13Apparently it was shortness of breath, fatigue and just general
- 1:14:19lack of energy. It seems that, yeah, I think
- 1:14:24they're going to have to get some.
- 1:14:25I don't know what the latest is on that.
- 1:14:26I think he's probably getting. Absence from work?
- 1:14:28Because that sounds like me. Yeah, probably.
- 1:14:31Going to have to get evaluated by some doctors, some some
- 1:14:34medical experts, make sure everything's good there.
- 1:14:37We got to have we got to have old Ron Washington in the game.
- 1:14:41You, you can't have that. We can't have to an extended of
- 1:14:44an absence. There I know all all the Braves
- 1:14:47fans in the chat have always been been like, hey, you know,
- 1:14:51shame on you Angels for doing this to our guy.
- 1:14:53Should have just stuck it out as a third base coach and infield
- 1:14:56coach. You had it made in the shade.
- 1:15:00Putting this the Angels are just putting undue stress on this
- 1:15:02guy. Yeah.
- 1:15:04Although correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a minute since
- 1:15:08we talked to angels. You're wrong.
- 1:15:13Am I wrong 2? Games under.
- 1:15:18Probably 2 games under. That's a team that has a lot of
- 1:15:22pieces, by the way. That is a team that has a lot of
- 1:15:24pieces that can move. Relatively balanced American
- 1:15:30League West. I mean, like I said, Astros are
- 1:15:33sort of picking up steam here, but.
- 1:15:36They're like a team of everyone's Plan C signings, you
- 1:15:43know what I mean? It's just a team made-up of of
- 1:15:48those guys and Mike, Chuck. It's like when it's like in a
- 1:15:53video game, if you're, if you're running like a, a dynasty or
- 1:15:56something and you don't set yourself as the first pick in
- 1:15:59the draft and you're like, you're like 22nd on the board.
- 1:16:05You kind of just end up with like slop, no disrespect, but
- 1:16:09like you kind of just you, you finish the draft and you're
- 1:16:13like, I'm not really excited about this.
- 1:16:15But but they do have a lot of guys that could that could help
- 1:16:21in places. Although I think Solaire just
- 1:16:23went on the IO get better, Rosh get better.
- 1:16:31Lastly, here raise and talk to sell the team raise are in
- 1:16:33advance talks to sell the team to a group led by Florida home
- 1:16:36developer Patrick Zalupski. Sounds like a winner to me.
- 1:16:46Oh boy. No disrespect, Zoo.
- 1:16:51I I saw this, I read that he is the CEO of Dream Finders Homes,
- 1:16:57a company that builds and designs homes.
- 1:16:59I can foresee an expansion of that company to maybe include
- 1:17:03construction of baseball stadiums because they're in need
- 1:17:06of 1. Yeah, stop using ours.
- 1:17:14That's all I got. Let's have a good week.
- 1:17:20Dude. Dude.
- 1:17:23I forgot to tell you, Paige was she was going to a concert.
- 1:17:30She went to a Post Malone concert last night.
- 1:17:33And so she was like changing out her purse, you know, to like get
- 1:17:36the into like a smaller one for the venue.
- 1:17:41And she's like looking through the purse and she finds this
- 1:17:43quarter and she's like, it's kind of a cool looking quarter.
- 1:17:47Like what's this? She flips it over to me and it's
- 1:17:50like one of those like commemorative quarters that has
- 1:17:53like some historical person on the back.
- 1:17:58And I was like, oh, that's cool. I've never looked.
- 1:18:00I've never seen it. So like, I looked it up, bro.
- 1:18:04This quarter apparently is super rare because there's a typo on
- 1:18:13it. What it says instead of in God
- 1:18:20we trust, it says in COD we trust with AC instead of AGI.
- 1:18:26Looked it up and. This is like fish people.
- 1:18:30It's being sold for like $2500 on eBay.
- 1:18:37On the low end it's like $900. How are you?
- 1:18:42How positive are you that you're just not misreading this?
- 1:18:44Quite. I mean, I see.
- 1:18:47I had, I took him to my dad's house yesterday and he has like
- 1:18:50one of those little magnifying glass things.
- 1:18:53I use that and I took a picture and you could, I like zoomed all
- 1:19:00the way in. You can absolutely see it's AC.
- 1:19:06Dude I OK I'm looking. I googled in Cod We Trust, which
- 1:19:12is unfortunate now because now I'm going to just get weird like
- 1:19:15fish people cult ads asking me to join their like Facebook
- 1:19:20group. The 1st result that I'm seeing
- 1:19:22the phrase in Cod We Trust on AUS Quarter is a playful
- 1:19:26alteration of the official motto in God We Trust.
- 1:19:29It's not an official coin, but rather humorous error that has
- 1:19:33gained some popularity among collectors.
- 1:19:35While some believe these coins are valuable due to the error,
- 1:19:37most are likely worth only their face value of $0.25.
- 1:19:42So what? 2024D Zitkala SA in Cod We Trust
- 1:19:47Air recorder being sold for $2500.
- 1:19:51OK, being sold I could list, I could list this pen on eBay for
- 1:19:56$9 million. What are they selling for?
- 1:20:01Look it up bro. Like what have they sold for
- 1:20:04rather? I don't know how to find that
- 1:20:05information. That's what I need to know.
- 1:20:07Seeing $1000 on eBay, $949 on eBay they sold.
- 1:20:15For that much. I don't know.
- 1:20:17How do you find stuff that's sold?
- 1:20:19It's anything that's being sold. You should be able to filter it,
- 1:20:23but to know what's. What is in the Google machine?
- 1:20:27I don't have AI, don't have an eBay account guy.
- 1:20:32I didn't know eBay was still alive.
- 1:20:36All right, well, if you just disappear off the face of the
- 1:20:38map because. You blame the COD people,
- 1:20:42They're coming for me. You.
- 1:20:44No, I was going to say because you just inherited millions of
- 1:20:47dollars from this COD quarter. I'd appreciate that.
- 1:20:52And we'll know. We'll know why, why you
- 1:20:54disappeared. But anyway.
- 1:20:56Fired How do How do you find sold frequently bought together?
- 1:21:02That's not it. That's not it.
- 1:21:05My brother there's got it like just filter it.
- 1:21:12Filter what guy? Let me do it.
- 1:21:15Thank you. One job.
- 1:21:20All right in in cod we trust sort by put in.
- 1:21:25ZITKALA quarter. Is it Kala?
- 1:21:33Yeah, that's the, that's the lady on the back looks like
- 1:21:36that. OK.
- 1:21:38She's a big deal bro. You're not on 1/4.
- 1:21:43Well, I think this is a fake quarter, So does it really make
- 1:21:46a difference? OK, I filtered it by sold.
- 1:21:50I hold on Zitcala. Good news, I need a new couch.
- 1:21:56Zitcala filtered by sold. OK.
- 1:21:59Do you want me to read you the prices?
- 1:22:00Yeah, the prices they've sold, yeah, $3.50, four, 99, four.
- 1:22:09$199. $4.99 Fifteen. Dollars we're getting there.
- 1:22:15It's climbing $2.00. Can you take this by highest
- 1:22:20talking about filter coming at me?
- 1:22:26The highest it you said, oh, we're getting higher.
- 1:22:28That was the highest. It was $15.00.
- 1:22:30That's the highest it is sold for.
- 1:22:31So you're telling me these people on eBay are just like, I
- 1:22:35think this is worth $2500? Yeah, that's like eBay one O 1.
- 1:22:40You'd you can list it for anything you want, but it's
- 1:22:44what's important to know what the real value and worth is.
- 1:22:48You got to, you got to look at what it's sold for because
- 1:22:50that's what the market would, that's the interest at the
- 1:22:53market has in it. Well, I don't I don't like your
- 1:22:56answers. I mean, hey, $15 still.
- 1:23:00I mean, that's like a. That's a big return.
- 1:23:02That's a Chipotle bowl for one of you.
- 1:23:05No guac. So I mean, you this, this.
- 1:23:10Hey, Kyle, Tucker just went deep.
- 1:23:13This could push him over the edge.
- 1:23:18Kyle Tucker just went deep. He trusts in COD all.
- 1:23:21Right. Let's revisit the the let's
- 1:23:25revisit the ballot here. No, I'm not doing that anyway.
- 1:23:30No. Yeah, not doing that.
- 1:23:32We're done. But yeah, good luck in your
- 1:23:35dealings with the the Colt Fish people.
- 1:23:38But I'll find someone who really cares about it.
- 1:23:41I don't need you putting me down.
- 1:23:43Care for it $15.00 worth. No.
- 1:23:48Hey man, I love you this many dollars worth.
- 1:23:52Yeah, I'm looking at about two GS.
- 1:23:57You're not selling for two GS anyway, good luck.
- 1:23:59Have a good week folks. That's all I.
- 1:24:02See those curveballs out there? Don't go chasing them.
- 1:24:08Yeah, Laura, in the chat it says they're fake.
- 1:24:11Yeah. You don't know you're sorry.
- 1:24:13You have you. Don't know Laura.
- 1:24:15You're being, you're being misled.
- 1:24:17You, you don't know. We love you.
- 1:24:18And as always, looking forward to talking more baseball with
- 1:24:20you guys soon. Until next time, stay filthy.
