- 0:06Speaker 1: Let's continue the conversation about hal Steinberner's comments with Ken
- 0:09Speaker 1: Rosenthal right now, Ken, what did you take from what
- 0:12Speaker 1: House said, including the always ever so popular oh no,
- 0:17Speaker 1: we're not that rich off this team comment?
- 0:21Speaker 2: I had a three word reaction, open the books.
- 0:25Speaker 3: No team is going to do that, except the Braves,
- 0:27Speaker 3: who are publicly traded. But when an owner makes such
- 0:30Speaker 3: a claim, and it's not only how who does that,
- 0:33Speaker 3: then the obvious question is, Okay, show us, prove it
- 0:36Speaker 3: to us, let us see what you are talking about,
- 0:39Speaker 3: and that never happens. Why does it never happen? Perhaps
- 0:43Speaker 3: because what the owner is saying cannot be reflected by
- 0:46Speaker 3: actual accounting practices. Now, even if the Yankees are spending
- 0:52Speaker 3: a ton of money, and they are spending a ton
- 0:53Speaker 3: of money on things besides major league pay, well we
- 0:55Speaker 3: all understand that. But there is the money they're taking
- 0:59Speaker 3: in not just from the ball club, but from the
- 1:01Speaker 3: Yes Network and from other properties that are related.
- 1:04Speaker 2: To the Yankees.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Then there is the potential resale values. So when owners
- 1:08Speaker 3: cry poor, if you're a thinking fan, I can't imagine
- 1:13Speaker 3: you would buy that without some evidence of it. And
- 1:15Speaker 3: we never get to see any evidence of any of this.
- 1:18Speaker 2: All we hear is the poor mouthing.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Do you think how is really just saying what the
- 1:25Speaker 4: other owners, the other minority owners that are not forward facing,
- 1:29Speaker 4: like hal is what they're saying. And he's going to
- 1:33Speaker 4: the public and being like, well, you know, guys, it's
- 1:36Speaker 4: not that great.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That's possible. Eric. I don't know the inner workings of
- 1:41Speaker 3: the Yankees ownership hierarchy, but if that's the case, put
- 1:45Speaker 3: on a better face publicly and don't say just parrot
- 1:50Speaker 3: what these guys are telling you and complaining about. You
- 1:53Speaker 3: have to understand as the owner of the Yankees, and
- 1:55Speaker 3: we all do respect that he does talk to the
- 1:57Speaker 3: media when so many other owners don't. But when you're
- 2:00Speaker 3: the owner of the Yankees and you say the things
- 2:02Speaker 3: you do again, you cannot expect people to simply take
- 2:06Speaker 3: that at face value. I'm sorry, there's no reason to
- 2:09Speaker 3: take it into face value unless we see some actual
- 2:12Speaker 3: evidence that what he is saying is happening is happening now,
- 2:16Speaker 3: even if and I don't believe this to be the case,
- 2:19Speaker 3: but even if the Yankees are operating at a loss
- 2:22Speaker 3: each year based strictly on revenues from the team and payroll,
- 2:26Speaker 3: going out and other operating expenses. You still have all
- 2:30Speaker 3: the other things I was talking about, the ancillary properties,
- 2:34Speaker 3: the potential retale value. And I know the owners always say,
- 2:37Speaker 3: and people from baseball always say, well, you don't run
- 2:40Speaker 3: your personal budget on the potential resale value of your house.
- 2:44Speaker 3: That's true, the average person doesn't. The average person also
- 2:47Speaker 3: isn't sitting on a multi billion dollar property.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and you also don't win a ring from your
- 2:55Speaker 4: World series legendary history from your house either, So not
- 2:58Speaker 4: a not compare for me. But have you heard how
- 3:03Speaker 4: recently because I know he said it a few years ago,
- 3:05Speaker 4: but recently said say anything about not wanting to go
- 3:08Speaker 4: over that CBT because he doesn't want to keep giving
- 3:11Speaker 4: more money to the teams that aren't trying.
- 3:15Speaker 3: He hasn't said it quite like that. And like any team,
- 3:18Speaker 3: they do not want to go over the CBT repeatedly,
- 3:21Speaker 3: because of course, the penalties only increase to lose draft picks.
- 3:25Speaker 3: All of these things that come into place, and you
- 3:28Speaker 3: can understand that a team that resets often is doing
- 3:31Speaker 3: it in a very wise way to reset all the
- 3:33Speaker 3: penalties and kind of start over with the CBT. But
- 3:38Speaker 3: do the Yankees like giving money to teams like the Pirates,
- 3:41Speaker 3: the Marlins, other teams that don't necessarily reinvest it into
- 3:45Speaker 3: their payroll. I would think the Yankees do not like that. Now,
- 3:48Speaker 3: he's not going to say that publicly. One owner is
- 3:50Speaker 3: not going to rip another, particularly now as we get
- 3:53Speaker 3: closer to labor negotiations. But that is and has been
- 3:58Speaker 3: historically in this sport friction ever since revenue sharing came
- 4:01Speaker 3: into play. The big market small market thing is there.
- 4:05Speaker 3: It's always going to be there. The owners would like
- 4:07Speaker 3: to believe that if you put in a cap and
- 4:09Speaker 3: a floor system that it would solve the problem. As
- 4:12Speaker 3: I've said before, I'm not convinced of that. To me,
- 4:15Speaker 3: the current system can be tweaked to ensure that the
- 4:19Speaker 3: money is better spent and that perhaps those teams get
- 4:22Speaker 3: even more money and more draft picks, whatever it would
- 4:24Speaker 3: take to make them more competitive, not even the playing
- 4:27Speaker 3: field necessarily. You can't do that, not in this sport,
- 4:30Speaker 3: which is driven by local revenue, but to make it
- 4:33Speaker 3: more balanced.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Yeah, mine's more of a hypothetical. Can if George was
- 4:39Speaker 5: still running the team, and George was still alive, how
- 4:41Speaker 5: much do you think he would enjoy kind of competing
- 4:44Speaker 5: with what the Dodgers are doing right now from a
- 4:46Speaker 5: payroll perspective, and.
- 4:49Speaker 3: He would definitely enjoy it. Kevin, Now, it's an unfair
- 4:52Speaker 3: question in many ways, because he's not alive. Obviously, times
- 4:56Speaker 3: have changed. The money is greater than even it was
- 4:59Speaker 3: when he was on, even in a relative sense. But
- 5:02Speaker 3: hal Steinbrenner, perhaps because of what Eric was saying before
- 5:06Speaker 3: the obligation to other owners in his group, has a
- 5:09Speaker 3: different approach than George did, and that's fine. George, in
- 5:13Speaker 3: many ways was not a great owner. He bullied people,
- 5:16Speaker 3: he treated people badly, he was suspended. They're all kinds
- 5:19Speaker 3: of things happened when George was owner that a lot
- 5:22Speaker 3: of fans sometimes seem to forget things that weren't very pleasant.
- 5:26Speaker 3: But his desire to win was more insatiable than how
- 5:32Speaker 3: I don't know that there's any question about that.
- 5:36Speaker 1: If you are still carrying a clunky, leather brick that
- 5:40Speaker 1: can be mistaken for an old school wallet, may I
- 5:43Speaker 1: introduce you to what Eric Kratz is getting himself for
- 5:47Speaker 1: the holidays.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I mean, this is the greatest wallet that I've ever
- 5:51Speaker 4: seen in my life. Your credit card's fitting here. It's
- 5:54Speaker 4: a justable lifetime guaranteed like what like? This is a
- 5:59Speaker 4: must have for the holidays.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Absolute must have Ridge Olive matt That is the design
- 6:05Speaker 1: that Kratz has right now, and you can get a
- 6:07Speaker 1: hold of that. There's over fifty plus colors and styles
- 6:10Speaker 1: to choose from.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Over at Ridge.
- 6:12Speaker 1: You can even get a wallet that features every NFL,
- 6:14Speaker 1: MLB or college team. And for a limited time, Ridge
- 6:17Speaker 1: is having their huge Black Friday sale. Head to Ridge
- 6:20Speaker 1: dot com slash foul to get up to forty seven
- 6:23Speaker 1: percent off your order. This is by far the biggest
- 6:25Speaker 1: discount they've given all year. That's Ridge dot com slash
- 6:28Speaker 1: foul for up to forty seven percent off your order
- 6:30Speaker 1: during their biggest sale of the year. After your purchase,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I'll ask you where you heard about Ridge. Tell them
- 6:35Speaker 1: Foul Territory sent you. I'm going to get last line
- 6:40Speaker 1: on this one. Just to something you said a few
- 6:42Speaker 1: minutes ago, most people selling their houses aren't getting dividends
- 6:46Speaker 1: on their house while they own it, unless they're running
- 6:49Speaker 1: some type of business out of their homes. So the
- 6:51Speaker 1: comparison for me is laughable. But we'll see what happens
- 6:56Speaker 1: with George and or excuse me with hol and with
- 6:58Speaker 1: the Yankees this offseason. Now let's get to the Red Sox,
- 7:02Speaker 1: the team of the day for acquiring Sonny Gray, and
- 7:05Speaker 1: very interesting how high and Bloom is now running the
- 7:07Speaker 1: Cardinals and making a deal with the team that he
- 7:10Speaker 1: used to run.
- 7:11Speaker 2: What do you think of this trade?
- 7:13Speaker 3: This was quite interesting and really it's the second big
- 7:16Speaker 3: surprise of the week. Simeon for Nimo was one. This
- 7:19Speaker 3: one is another because my expectation from the Red Sox
- 7:24Speaker 3: was that they were going to go to a guy
- 7:26Speaker 3: they believe would slot in with some certainty as a
- 7:30Speaker 3: number two starter in a postseason series behind Garrett Crochet.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I'm not sure Sonny Gray, at thirty six years old,
- 7:37Speaker 3: is that anymore. Now, Sonny Gray has some things to
- 7:40Speaker 3: definitely recommend him. Strikeout to walk rate last year fourth
- 7:45Speaker 3: best in the major leagues. You see the numbers right there.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Schoobl was best. Crochet of the Red Sox next Wu
- 7:51Speaker 3: and then Sonny Gray even ahead of Paul Skeens two
- 7:54Speaker 3: hundred and one strikeouts. Second straight two hundred strikeout campaign
- 7:57Speaker 3: for Gray. The Red Sox obviously of the swing and
- 8:00Speaker 3: miss he threw one hundred and eighty innings. I don't
- 8:03Speaker 3: know that he's an ace or even a number two anymore,
- 8:05Speaker 3: but he's still a quality major league pitcher. You run
- 8:08Speaker 3: the risk of the age coming into play in his
- 8:11Speaker 3: age thirty six season, but certainly he has not showed
- 8:15Speaker 3: signs of slowing down yet and he keeps himself in
- 8:17Speaker 3: excellent shape. That all said, I thought the Cardinals did well.
- 8:22Speaker 3: They did well to get Richard Fitz who's a major
- 8:24Speaker 3: league pitcher, and Clark, who is one of the Red
- 8:26Speaker 3: Sox or had been one of the Red Sox top prospects.
- 8:29Speaker 3: They send the Red Sox twenty million of the forty
- 8:33Speaker 3: one million that Gray is owed with his restructured contract,
- 8:37Speaker 3: so the Red Sox obligation will be twenty one million.
- 8:39Speaker 3: That's a reasonable number on a one year deal for sure.
- 8:42Speaker 3: But the Cardinals get players, they get financial relief, and
- 8:46Speaker 3: because this deal was front loaded Gray's three years, seventy
- 8:50Speaker 3: five million dollar deal, they got the value out of
- 8:52Speaker 3: Gray in those first two years and now the big
- 8:56Speaker 3: money has to go be paid by the Red Sox
- 8:59Speaker 3: in with the Cardinals. So I thought the Cardinals did well.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I'm not sure the Red Sox did well enough, but
- 9:06Speaker 3: maybe they see this differently. Maybe they say, you know what,
- 9:10Speaker 3: we're not give it one hundred and fifty million to
- 9:11Speaker 3: Dylan Ce's or fromber Valdez or range of Swarz or
- 9:14Speaker 3: am I no, let's do one year with Sonny Gray,
- 9:18Speaker 3: do some other things to upgrade offensively, maybe get another
- 9:21Speaker 3: lesser starter as well. I don't know what they're thinking exactly,
- 9:24Speaker 3: but it was an interesting choice to me, the one
- 9:27Speaker 3: that they made.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Can you glean anything else from it? Because you kind
- 9:31Speaker 4: of just hit on it. Breslo said, Hey, we want
- 9:35Speaker 4: to get that one. A. We're not looking at threes,
- 9:38Speaker 4: fours and fives, but they're spending the exact same, essentially,
- 9:41Speaker 4: the exact same money that they spent on Walker Bueller.
- 9:44Speaker 4: So can we glean the fact that unless there's a
- 9:47Speaker 4: free agent out there that is in the Sonny Gray
- 9:50Speaker 4: category and will accept twenty or less million a year,
- 9:54Speaker 4: the Red Sox are done hunting for pictures.
- 9:57Speaker 3: I never want to rule anything out, Eric, because at
- 9:59Speaker 3: this time, he ye, things happen that you don't expect.
- 10:01Speaker 3: We've seen that already this offseason, and it's still early,
- 10:04Speaker 3: and we've seen surprises. But it doesn't seem to me
- 10:08Speaker 3: that that's the direction they want to go. They've got
- 10:11Speaker 3: other options to remember, They've got the two kids coming
- 10:13Speaker 3: back totally and early that were so good last year
- 10:16Speaker 3: for them. They've got Brian Beao, They've got Crochet of course,
- 10:20Speaker 3: they have a number of different options, and maybe even
- 10:22Speaker 3: Patrick Sandoval comes into play this year. So I don't
- 10:27Speaker 3: know that they're done. I can see this being their
- 10:30Speaker 3: big pitching move and then investing the rest in offense,
- 10:33Speaker 3: but it's hard to know for sure what they're thinking.
- 10:37Speaker 4: All Right, can we roll out JT Real Muto to
- 10:39Speaker 4: the Red Sox? Can we can? I mean, it's hard
- 10:41Speaker 4: for me to see it, especially with the fact that
- 10:44Speaker 4: you're probably looking at fifteen million a year and it
- 10:47Speaker 4: would be kind of a platoon slash Narvaias and Real
- 10:51Speaker 4: Muto roll Can we roll that out? Even though we
- 10:55Speaker 4: just saw it was just written that there's interest the
- 10:59Speaker 4: old interest work.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I wrote it, And I don't write stories about
- 11:04Speaker 3: teams being interested in players lightly, because as the story mentions,
- 11:09Speaker 3: every team is interested in every player for the most
- 11:11Speaker 3: part at this time of year. But I heard this
- 11:14Speaker 3: yesterday from a couple of different places. Now I didn't
- 11:16Speaker 3: hear it strong enough to think that it's likely or
- 11:19Speaker 3: anything like that. But I thought it was interesting because JT.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Real Muto, who is going to be entering his age
- 11:24Speaker 3: thirty five season, is a fit for the Red Sox
- 11:27Speaker 3: in a certain respect. If you pair him with Nevius,
- 11:31Speaker 3: who did struggle at the end of last year, albeit
- 11:34Speaker 3: with a knee injury. You pair him with Nevvias, you
- 11:37Speaker 3: dhm as well, and you resign Alex Bregman or another bat.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Maybe it's Pete Alonzo.
- 11:42Speaker 3: That's two bats instead of one, and it just gives
- 11:45Speaker 3: you a little bit more oomph. Now, JT. Real Muto
- 11:49Speaker 3: is still one of the most athletic, if not the
- 11:52Speaker 3: most athletic catchers in the game. He's a guy that
- 11:55Speaker 3: any team would want. Now, is this the Red Sox
- 11:58Speaker 3: top priority. No, I don't believe it is. But could
- 12:01Speaker 3: it be something that develops in a certain scenario. I
- 12:04Speaker 3: don't see why not. He's a right handed bat. They
- 12:07Speaker 3: need that, he's a leader, they need that, and he
- 12:10Speaker 3: is still a highly regarded catcher. But when you look
- 12:14Speaker 3: at his market, of course, the expectation within the industry
- 12:17Speaker 3: and my expectation as well, is that when we signed
- 12:20Speaker 3: with the Philadelphia Phillies. One of the points of writing
- 12:23Speaker 3: something like this, and we listed some other teams as well,
- 12:26Speaker 3: is to show that it's not just the Phillies. It's
- 12:29Speaker 3: never just one team looking at these guys, and teams
- 12:31Speaker 3: will make mistakes, in my opinion, when they think, ah,
- 12:35Speaker 3: he has no market, we're good. It's too often a
- 12:38Speaker 3: free agency you can get blindsided when you think that way.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Do I think this is likely with real Moto to Boston. No,
- 12:43Speaker 3: but it's certainly as interesting to me that it would
- 12:47Speaker 3: at least be a possibility for them in the many,
- 12:49Speaker 3: many possibilities that they are considering.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Yeah, you mentioned two names. I want to ask you
- 12:55Speaker 5: Bregman Alonzo, which is a better fit. To me, Bregman
- 12:59Speaker 5: kind of going to Boston just kind of screams perfect
- 13:02Speaker 5: fit for Boston. I know they have some young internal
- 13:06Speaker 5: candidates that could play third base, but I feel like
- 13:08Speaker 5: Bregman was the exact guy that that team needed.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I agree with that, Kevin, and to me, Bregman is
- 13:15Speaker 3: a difference maker in so many ways. Obviously the bat,
- 13:19Speaker 3: that's one thing, the defense really good that's another thing.
- 13:22Speaker 3: And also that intangible that he brings to a team.
- 13:25Speaker 3: And we've seen it now and we've seen it documented.
- 13:28Speaker 3: He helps other players improve, he makes suggestions even to pitchers,
- 13:33Speaker 3: and he is a total difference maker in the clubhouse. Now,
- 13:37Speaker 3: that's not why you sign a guy. If he's not
- 13:39Speaker 3: a good enough player, you don't. But Bregman, to me,
- 13:42Speaker 3: is still the best fit. I know They've got Meyer
- 13:44Speaker 3: and they want to find a position for him, but
- 13:46Speaker 3: you put Bregman in third base, you worry about the
- 13:48Speaker 3: rest later. He's a better fit than Alonzo for me
- 13:52Speaker 3: one because of the defensive ability too, because you have
- 13:57Speaker 3: Tristan Cassis. First base is an easier position to fill
- 14:00Speaker 3: long term if.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Cassis is not the answer.
- 14:03Speaker 3: So while Anzo would be a good fit as well
- 14:06Speaker 3: if they lost Bregman, Bregmant to me still is the
- 14:09Speaker 3: guy that they should be targeting first and foremost, and
- 14:12Speaker 3: I expect that they will all right.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Now that Sonny Gray's gone Aeronato and Wilson Contreras. Is
- 14:21Speaker 4: it more likely less likely because of how much the
- 14:24Speaker 4: money was taken, or is this agenda number one and
- 14:28Speaker 4: two to get possibly get rid of Wilson Contreras and
- 14:31Speaker 4: Aeronauta Arnatto.
- 14:32Speaker 3: For sure, he's gonna go in my expectation Wilson Contreras
- 14:37Speaker 3: is a little bit different. He has said he wants
- 14:39Speaker 3: to stay. Now will he want to stay once they
- 14:42Speaker 3: start trading not only those guys, but Brendan Donovan and
- 14:45Speaker 3: potentially Laura's nutbar Nolan Gorman. That's a different question, and
- 14:49Speaker 3: maybe at that point Wilson Contrera says, you know what
- 14:53Speaker 3: it can go to. It's kind of the same logic,
- 14:55Speaker 3: different circumstance, but we've written this. Dan Hayes of The
- 14:59Speaker 3: Athletic has that if the Twins keep taking it apart,
- 15:02Speaker 3: if they trade Joe, Ryan, Trey, Pablo Lopez, then Byron
- 15:05Speaker 3: Buckston would say, what am I doing here?
- 15:07Speaker 2: I can get traded too.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I'll be waiving my no trade clause if you find
- 15:11Speaker 3: the right fit. I expect that if the Cardinals completely
- 15:14Speaker 3: tear it up, as it appears they will do to
- 15:17Speaker 3: a certain extent, then maybe Contreras reconsiders.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And for all of you that had questions, we didn't
- 15:24Speaker 1: get to good news. Fair Territory is happening tomorrow before
- 15:29Speaker 1: the holiday, so you'll get more from Ken there. Who's

- 17:07Speaker 1: In the Weeds, great article in The Athletic from Will

- 17:16Speaker 1: So they did some polling with Scouts and the results

- 17:26Speaker 1: number five options. Michael King got some votes. Gallon Giolito, Merril,
- 17:30Speaker 1: Kelly Kpu faced these guys and I'm going to start
- 17:34Speaker 1: this segment off with a bang. I completely disagree with
- 17:37Speaker 1: the order that ended up this way and this quote.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I think we'll say it all. Number three ranked Tatsuya
- 17:43Speaker 1: am I has this quote from one NL evaluator. He's
- 17:46Speaker 1: not a real physical guy, but he's a super athlete.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I don't think he has quite the stuff Yamamoto has,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but it's in the same ballpark.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Uh, Number one for me?
- 18:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, if there's even a comp to Yamamoto,
- 18:03Speaker 5: he has to be one on that list. I mean
- 18:06Speaker 5: I don't know much about him. I haven't seen him pitch.
- 18:08Speaker 5: But if someone that's been there overseas in Japan and
- 18:11Speaker 5: has Washington pitch and can even you know, feel comfortable
- 18:15Speaker 5: putting that out out of their mouth that he is
- 18:17Speaker 5: a close to Yamamoto, he has to be number one
- 18:19Speaker 5: on your list. Because Yamamoto finally had his coming out
- 18:23Speaker 5: party last year and year two, and you know he's
- 18:25Speaker 5: in that a handful of best pitchers in baseball. So
- 18:28Speaker 5: if that guy's even remotely close to him, he's got
- 18:31Speaker 5: to be number one on this list.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 4: There's just too much inconsistencies and questions about about Cease
- 18:39Speaker 4: and Framber ahead of him. If this is the evaluation,
- 18:42Speaker 4: I don't I don't have obviously don't have the evaluations.
- 18:46Speaker 4: I think the thing with Cese is he's gonna be
- 18:51Speaker 4: he's gonna make his starts thirty two starts. I think
- 18:55Speaker 4: in five consecutive years, five straight years strikeouts, the strike
- 19:00Speaker 4: asks for nine are just tremendous for Sease, I think
- 19:04Speaker 4: it's an under I think everyone sees the numbers of
- 19:06Speaker 4: him giving up too many runs and I think there's
- 19:09Speaker 4: a negative there. But I think the the values on
- 19:13Speaker 4: the mound for him, same with Framberg makes his starts.
- 19:16Speaker 4: But if Ami can be what they're saying he is,
- 19:21Speaker 4: and it's always a question in Japan that transition over here,
- 19:25Speaker 4: but he can he strikes dudes out more than one
- 19:27Speaker 4: per nine. I I think Amaia's got to be number one.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I mean, you could be looking at nobody getting more
- 19:35Speaker 4: than him. Let's put it that way.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Hey, there's a guy on this list. Though to Scott,
- 19:43Speaker 5: you may have, you may have the quote, but I
- 19:46Speaker 5: think talking about Ranger Schwarz being boring to me facing
- 19:50Speaker 5: a lot of these guys, he was one of the
- 19:51Speaker 5: more difficult guys to face. He's not overpowering, you're not
- 19:55Speaker 5: intimidating getting to him. And Kratzy knows this term that
- 19:58Speaker 5: we use. It's a comfortable for four. But his ability
- 20:01Speaker 5: to pitch and change speeds and locate. He's an absolute
- 20:05Speaker 5: nightmare to face.
- 20:08Speaker 2: So how would you guys rank Maybe because.
- 20:11Speaker 5: Because maybe because he doesn't get big strikeout numbers, but
- 20:14Speaker 5: he gets a ton of weak contact. It's not sexy,
- 20:18Speaker 5: but this guy takes the ball. He's gonna go deep
- 20:21Speaker 5: in games. He can be very efficient. Yeah, I mean
- 20:24Speaker 5: I would have to like I would. I'd like to
- 20:27Speaker 5: hear Cratzy's list first. Obviously for me, someone that hasn't
- 20:31Speaker 5: pitched in the big leagues coming from Japan, I know
- 20:33Speaker 5: we've seen pitchers come over and be successful. I always
- 20:36Speaker 5: get a little hesitant until I see him pitch in
- 20:38Speaker 5: the big leagues. So my rankings may be a little
- 20:40Speaker 5: bit different. But if Cratsey wants to go, I'll follow.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I won't even put Amye on the list, just just
- 20:48Speaker 4: for the guys that played in the big leagues last year.
- 20:51Speaker 4: To me, I go, I go Dylan Cees because there's
- 20:55Speaker 4: a scarier upside if he was if he was left handed,
- 21:01Speaker 4: I think it would be a slam dunk. But I
- 21:03Speaker 4: like Rain, I like Ranger over Framber. I know that
- 21:06Speaker 4: sounds crazy, but I'm gonna save some of my money
- 21:10Speaker 4: and I'm gonna get a guy who I get it.
- 21:13Speaker 4: He might not make, he might not make twenty five
- 21:16Speaker 4: starts on the year. But I think there's plenty of
- 21:18Speaker 4: teams that have the money to put out there. The
- 21:20Speaker 4: starts that you're gonna get, I think are going to
- 21:23Speaker 4: give you. You're gonna get more bang for your buck. I'm
- 21:26Speaker 4: just fearful of fearful of some of the things that
- 21:29Speaker 4: I saw from Framber. But that is it's really against
- 21:34Speaker 4: my it's really against my code to pick somebody who
- 21:36Speaker 4: makes who makes twenty two to twenty five starts a
- 21:39Speaker 4: year over somebody who who makes all thirty two of
- 21:43Speaker 4: his starts. And I feel like Framber does that, and
- 21:46Speaker 4: Dylan Ceese does that, and I actually have Dylan Cease
- 21:49Speaker 4: above because I think somebody can get with him and
- 21:52Speaker 4: figure this out.
- 21:54Speaker 2: And Framber third, So you have Ranger Cease.
- 21:59Speaker 4: No Framber, Ranger rain Cease, Ranger, Framber, And who I
- 22:05Speaker 4: would want who the best is that's that's that's the
- 22:09Speaker 4: line that I would want. That's who I would want
- 22:11Speaker 4: in that way.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Wait, hold up, hold up, So this is free agent list.
- 22:15Speaker 1: If let's say money is the same for all of
- 22:17Speaker 1: these guys who do you want.
- 22:19Speaker 2: So ranked ranked one through four.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Of these guys one through four of who you would
- 22:25Speaker 1: want that. That's the exercise that I'm asking here, one
- 22:28Speaker 1: through four, who do you want on your team? On
- 22:31Speaker 1: a five year contract? They're all getting about the same money.
- 22:34Speaker 1: For me, am I as first.
- 22:36Speaker 2: What about you?
- 22:37Speaker 4: If they're getting all the same money one hundred percent,
- 22:40Speaker 4: I'm going to my first Okay, then I'm going. Then
- 22:44Speaker 4: I'm going framber I mean, I think I think they
- 22:47Speaker 4: have the list. I think they have the list, and
- 22:49Speaker 4: now I got to pull the list back up, but
- 22:50Speaker 4: I think.
- 22:51Speaker 2: They have framber cees my ranger.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And the problem I have is that many of the
- 22:56Speaker 1: scouts were like, oh, I could change this list each day,
- 22:59Speaker 1: and I'm like, no, I can rank this list.
- 23:02Speaker 5: I think there's one I think there's one name we're
- 23:04Speaker 5: missing on that list too, And I think arguably he
- 23:07Speaker 5: has the best stuff, and I think that's Michael King.
- 23:09Speaker 5: I think there's injury history, recentcy bias with him, but
- 23:14Speaker 5: when you I've only faced him one time, but the
- 23:16Speaker 5: stuff I see on TV, it looks like he's playing
- 23:19Speaker 5: withootball with this stuff, and I think he was showing
- 23:22Speaker 5: the world the type of Pitcher he was before he
- 23:24Speaker 5: got hurt. I mean, I would make a case that
- 23:26Speaker 5: he could be even number one on my list.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I need you guys to rank it though, whether it's
- 23:30Speaker 1: one through four, one through five. If you want to
- 23:32Speaker 1: include King Kratz first, then KP will follow to finish.
- 23:36Speaker 4: This, because it's all everyone's getting to save money. Then
- 23:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna say, am I Framber Ranger sees my list?
- 23:45Speaker 4: The original list was because of was because I'm paying
- 23:49Speaker 4: less for Ranger. Rangers is not going to get as much.
- 23:52Speaker 4: But that's why I liked him. That's why I had
- 23:54Speaker 4: him higher.
- 23:55Speaker 2: But okay, that's fine, that makes sense.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah, there are two different spears here, because you do
- 24:01Speaker 1: have to factor in money when you're talking about real life.
- 24:03Speaker 1: This article was just trying to rank the pictures in
- 24:06Speaker 1: terms of who's best to who's not as good, right
- 24:09Speaker 1: one through four or one through five. And that's where
- 24:12Speaker 1: I had the issue with am I getting slighted based
- 24:14Speaker 1: on a recent track record of a picture of his
- 24:17Speaker 1: ilk coming over from Japan.
- 24:20Speaker 2: KP.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna keep the same list. I'm just gonna
- 24:25Speaker 5: slide Michael King in the third spot there because I
- 24:28Speaker 5: just think his his stuff is so good and the
- 24:31Speaker 5: upside is so great with him, I'd slide him in
- 24:33Speaker 5: in front of Ranger.
- 24:35Speaker 2: So lay it out for me.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Who's one Amaya?
- 24:41Speaker 5: Wait? Is Amaya? What's his name?
- 24:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 24:43Speaker 5: Right, yeah, Maya Maldas King. Ranger sees
